when i first learned that oikawa went abroad pretty much right after graduation and definitely stayed for a while, he might even still be in argentina or god knows where, i was really unsure whether i liked it. on one hand i was proud and like that's my boy, go chase your dreams, be brave!! but on the other hand i found it incredibly sad that he wasn't around all the other characters anymore.. of course i say that from a somewhat shippy perspective, but i'm also thinking about all his friendships, teammates, his family.. anyways, my point is, by now i've come to terms with it and decided i will focus on the happy reunions he'll have! so what that this means any college/ university AUs aren't canon compliant anymore, doesn't mean we can't still like those. and now we get break ups, and long distance, and finally the whole "meeting the one true love again after years of being separated" trope and if that doesn't scream angst with a happy ending.. i've decided to love and embrace it.
