how did you, jay and jungwon meet? a short story by filmbyjy

as idols, it was hard for jungwon and jay to really go out as normal people without being noticed. however, they did one day manage to find a small coffee shop that was pretty secluded. surprise surprise, you were working there.

— placing this in case the read more messes up —

"good afternoon! welcome to 'jewel bean'. what would you like to have?" you happily say. they were surprised to see the enthusiasm coming out from you since it was a simple and boring afternoon.

there wasn't much people in the small shop but you were still optimistic about it. it makes them smile. they quickly scanned the menu.

"can we have the green tea frappuccino and java chip frappuccino?"

"to go?"

they turned to each other, "uh, yes."

"alright, that will be $15.50." the boy taps his card. you quickly tapped on the buttons and hand him the receipt.

"oh right, so sorry. may i also have your name?" you asked them.

"it's jongseong."

"alright, the drinks will be done in a minute." you say. jay nods. he watches an older lady exit out of the supposed staff room.

"sweetie, don't you have classes soon?"

"i'll just finish this last order and then get to class, mom." you say. your mom nods and pats your back. she spots the two boys.

"oh my, sweetie. why didn't you tell me these two young men came in? they look really skinny. dear, let's give them a cake on the house." your mom says. you turned to your mom. the two boys blush.

"oh. no, it's okay." the boy in the beanie shyly says. you shook your head while giggling. you simply started packing a slice of cheesecake and red velvet cake into a box. you knew your mom wouldn't give up.

you placed the two drinks and the box of cakes on the counter in front of the both them, "i'm so sorry about my mom, unfortunately she doesn't take no as an answer. so here you go. she made these cakes so they are homemade. hopefully, you'll like them."

they looked at each other and then shyly smiled at you.

"thank you."

ever since that day, jay and jungwon started visiting your cafe more often. moreover, it was also secluded and not many people came here. they became quite close to you too since they started opening to you more. you found out that they were both idols in the same group so it was a little shocking that they even found out about your family's cafe.

"so, do you need help?" jay asks. you shook your head.

"jongseong, i'm fine. you aren't even studying for this." you tilt your head.

"i took biology in high school if that helps?" jungwon snorts.

"you went to hanlim and graduated in practical dance, there was no biology in there. if this is your way of flirting hyung, it didn't work." jay shoots daggers at jungwon.

you blushed, "flirting?"

"jay hyung likes you and he keeps talking about you, noona." jungwon says.

"what do you mean? jungwon uses the picture we took together as a wallpaper for our chats. he likes you too!" jay folds his arms.

the blush playing on your cheeks reddens even more.

"so the both of you like me?"

"yes."

"well, i like you both too."

what are dates like with jaywon?

very laid back

jay likes staying at home and cooking for you and jungwon

he also likes clothes shopping/grocery shopping with you and jungwon. he gets to see his two favourite people run around aisles and getting whatever you’d like

jay especially likes to see you dress up bc he likes whenever you doll yourself up! put on a cute dress, skirt, top etc. whatever you like, jay likes.

jay also likes fancy dinner dates but those are saved for special occasions like a 1 year anniversary.

jungwon likes amusement park dates, arcade dates, movies dates. classical and cliche romance novel dates.

and there will be a picture booth for you to take pictures with your two boyfriends. since both jungwon and jay love keeping memories in forms of pictures. jungwon also has a scrapbook of all the fun dates you guys had.

oh another classical date I think jaywon would like beach date/picnic date! they like the idea of lounging around with you. like cats :D

affection?

they are like cats. it’s a push and pull thing

there are times where they get really clingy and other times where they don’t cling much (especially if there is college work to do)

jungwon does like clinging more though. he likes cuddles and head pats. makes him feel loved.

jay on the other hand, loves kisses and hugs. he likes back hugging for sure. he does it to you, you do it to him. vice versa.

jungwon likes spooning, whether it being you are little spoon and he is big spoon or the opposite. he just likes having you close to him.

oh oh oh!! jungwon does this thing where he nudges his head onto your arms like a cat to get your attention or jay’s attention. kinda like what ni-ki did to get jungwon to continue playing with his hair! it’s really adorable trust me.

sleepover with them

at night, these two boys are the epitome of cats

as if you guys didn’t know it😀

they will wrap their arms and legs around you so you have no personal space

they just love waking up tangled with you

they also love how they get to see you still sleeping bc they find it adorable.

since jungwon wakes up the earliest, he decides to always wake you up first. he does so by like pecking your lips and forehead over and over again. which in my opinion...let me give you hugs and kisses won🥺

then you wake jay up by kissing all over his face bc he loves it when you do so.

one thing about jay: if he is the first one awake, he will stare at both you and jungwon. he likes looking at people he loves. this is rare though since he is usually in deep sleep.

what are their love languages?

jungwon likes quality time and acts of service.

quality time being he just likes to spend time with you and acts of service bc he likes to help you out. he doesn't really voice out how much he loves you rather he does it through his actions. he is a little shy when it comes to these types of things.

he also like physical touch when it comes to being alone with you.

he doesn't do much when you come over to the dorm and there are other members. he feels a little shy doing it.

though, i do think if he really misses you...he doesn't care if the other boys watch him being babied by you.

jay likes words of affirmation, physical touch and giving you gifts. actually he can be all of the 5 love languages at different times.

jay especially likes to express his love for you by words and giving gifts. it doesn't have to be big gifts. just small ones like clothes and sweets.

physical affection for jay would be like backhugs, kisses (read: neck kisses)

words of affirmation for jay, i think just suits him. he really great with his words. he knows how to comfort you.

IN CONCLUSION

as i've said before, jaywon are just the perfect candidate for a poly relationship. they are both givers in a relationship. they prioritise their partner's happiness over theirs and in turn this also makes them both husband material.

jay and jungwon would never demand for things rather, they are both chill and laid back. as we know, jungwon loves paying attention to small details and still listens attentively. as for jay, he puts his whole attention to you and only you (or jungwon).

in other words, jaywon best boys!

i remember when i was starting out as an army it was my first time being in a fandom of any kind so i had no idea what shipping was. i stumbled upon gcft thought okay cool video editing and jk was so talented i’ll show this to my muggle friend who is in the visual arts industry and see what she says and the first thing thar came out of her mouth after watching was “are they boyfriends?” 😭 well i said no lmfao bc i was dumb and naive.

anyway what i really wanted to say is youre slowly convincing me start looking into jaywon and enha bpp !! i saw a few videos come up on my fyp now.. also ive always thought jay was a bit arrogant (for the lack of better term) just based on how we looks and and a few videos here and there but as you can see in my story above i dont read people quite well at first dnsjsjs

Jay looks like a fuckboy no point sugarcoating it. He looks like an asshole.

Anybody judging characters based on appearance/vibes will likely think he's unreliable and a bad person. Which is what makes the contrast with his actual personality so much more jarring, and impactful. For anybody who wants to know Jay, I strongly suggest watching i-Land. The show itself I'd rate a 7/10, but it's useful for getting to understand a few members, one of which is Jay.

As for jaywon, I don't even know what to say. All I know is I've been watching them for some time and the only other pairing that's remotely similar in what I feel, is when I watch jikook. Even though jaywon is nothing like jikook. Their dynamic is completely different and their team (Enhypen) not like BTS exactly. Their story hurts and warms my heart sometimes, so I check in on them from time to time. If you want to get into jaywon though, I suggest getting into the whole group. It's just going to give you a better sense of what's going on and make you less likely to go delulu, because trust me, people go delulu with Enha.

And their music actually slaps. I'm not trying to sell you on it, just saying the facts as they are.

Also, if I can be even more candid, the truth is I'm not sure I want a lot of jikookers putting their attention on jaywon in the first place. Some of y'all are crazy I'm sorry to say. And the engene fandom isn't big enough to dilute a huge influx of crazies into their fandom, especially of the ARMY variety. I'm also not sure jaywon's relationship is stable enough for outsized attention targeted on them. Which is why I hope the jikookers who do set their attention on jaywon, are decent enough people first.

I wasnt kidding about that, originally it wasn't going to be that bad of an injury but then I was like if I'm gonna do it, I might as well make it hella dramatic ya know 😂.

It's not so much pretty privilege but moreso that Jay hadn't really hurt YN all that much. Jungwon in his asshole era hurt her a lot more so it was easier to forgive Jay than Jungwon.

See the plan was for there to be more chapters of them in the awkward not quite friends but not enemies phase but then it just started to seem too similar so I decided to cut that short plus there's angst coming so enjoy that.

Do I have surprises to come. YNs self esteem and family drama come into play in further chapters.

So the idea originally was a spin on the good boy x bad girl trope but it somehow evolved into this 😂. Where YN is an annoying troublemaker but not like a bad girl in general. And Jungwon was supposed to be golden boy that was just perfect instead he's going through another redemption arc 😂. Jay being horrible kinda was inspired by Jaywons bond, like theyre so close and I love them but I decided to flip that in Jay being loyal and letting prejudice come in between being a nice guy. Bahi was just randomly chosen, I think it was more so that I knew Bahi better than I knew Gaeul if that makes sense, like I don't follow Kep1er but I love seeing the Huening siblings tiktoks and I think she's cute 😂.

im not the same person but if u ask me ill tell u, sunghoon is "this is me trying" or he could also be "anti-hero" jay is "evermore", jungwon is "karma", ni-ki is "i did something bad", heeseung is "cardigan" and im not really sure about sunoo- jayhoon together are "snow on the beach", jaywon in the past used to be "gold rush" or "willow", heejay brotherhood is "mirrorball" (if u know what the song is all about you'd know mostly heeseung is willing to be the "mirrorball" for jay =))

no shush. jaywon is literally the epitome of prioritising you over them.

like with jungwon being a leader. he always looks after the boys to make sure you know everyone is okay. with jay, he likes making sure everyone is comfortable (in a motherly sense)

so like honestly…an extremely perfect care taking duo

“Did you hear about the new exchange student?” Yuna asks.

You raise an eyebrow, shaking your head no. “Oh, really? Apparently, he’s like. Really good looking.” Yuna says. “I see. Well, I haven’t seen him.” you shrug, and Yuna sighs.

A bunch of girls rush into the classroom, squeals and giggles escaping past their lips as an amused smile spreads across your face. “Are they doing that because of the exchange student?” you whisper to Yuna, and she nods. “Probably.”

“Hey, what’s his name?” you ask Yuna.

“Riki or something, I don’t know.”

Riki.

The name of the guy who stole your charm bracelet in second grade - then proceeded to tell you that he ate the charms. You’re sure he still has the bracelet hidden somewhere, and you still hold a grudge against him for it, even though it was years ago.

That bracelet really was your lucky charm. A week after it was taken, your goldfish died.

You blamed it on Riki stealing your lucky bracelet.

“Riki? That’s the name of the guy who stole my bracelet in second grade.” you say, and Yuna chuckles. “You still hold a grudge against him for that?”

“My goldfish died a week after he took it! He basically indirectly killed Mr Bubbles!”

“Mr Bubbles is a lame name.”

You turn around to meet eyes with a guy who you don’t recognise. “Who the hell are you?” you ask, and the stranger gasps in mock offence. “You really don’t remember me?”

“The only thing I vividly remember is some asshole called Riki or whatever stealing my bracelet in second grade. Apparently some kid with the same name is an exchange student here too. I’m praying to Jesus that it’s not him.”

“I guess your prayers didn’t work.” he says with a smirk, and your face falls.

This is Nishimura Riki?

He looks extremely different - as expected, after all it’s been years since you last saw him.

“Long time no see, (Name).” Riki says.

“The exchange student is the charm bracelet eater?” Yuna gasps. “Yeah, I didn’t know until like 2 seconds ago too.” you say, and you bury your face into your hands.

“God, this is weird,” you mumble. “Do you have my bracelet though?“

“I told you I ate it.”

“Yeah, as if I’m going to believe that shit.” you say, and Riki gives you an amused smile. “You don’t have proof that I’m lying though. Maybe six-year-old me’s stomach was just… super strong.” Riki shrugs, and your eyebrows furrow in anger.

“I hate you, Riki.”

“So enemies to lovers?”

“Shut up.”

The universe must really hate you.

Your homeroom teacher had forced you to become Riki’s guide around school, and when you found out, Riki had the most shit-eating grin plastered on his face.

Riki has been following you for the past two days. Asking you questions after questions - he hasn’t stopped talking to you.

“You suck, Riki.” you tell him as you walk down the hallway, the tall boy trailing after you.

“You’ve told me that fifteen times today. I’m aware.” Riki rolls his eyes, and you sigh in frustration. “Can you stop following me?”

“You’re my guide. We have the same classes. I can’t not follow you,” Riki says. “Plus, you’re funny when you’re mad.”

“You took my bracelet.”

“I had my reasons.”

“What reason would you have? Without it, bad things happen to me! Such as right now! I don’t have my bracelet, and now you’re standing right next to me.” you’re fuming, and Riki just laughs, and you give him a death glare.

“Nothing’s funny about this, Nishimura Riki.”

“You two are late,” a teacher says, and you murmur an apology, grabbing Riki’s arm as you lead him into the classroom.

Everyone’s eyes are on you two when you open the door, and your teacher only sighs, telling you two to sit down. Yuna gives you a strange look, and it’s only then when you realise your hand is still grabbing onto Riki’s wrist.

You quickly remove your hand from his wrist, and you feel your face getting hot when he slides into the seat next to you.

“Do you have a pen?”

“Oh my god. Did you seriously not bring one?” you sigh, and you pull out a pen from your pencil case, handing it to him. “Don’t steal it.” you say, and he nods. “Oh, don’t eat it, either. Since apparently you have… that tendency, or whatever.” you add.

“I won’t.” he says, and you scoff. “Whatever you say, Nishimura.”

You eventually get bored of your teacher droning on and on about quadratic equations, and instead opt to stare at your surroundings. You notice that Ningning’s taking notes, Jongseob’s playing video games on his phone under the desk and Riki’s sleeping.

You rest your head on the desk to look at him, and the Riki you see now looks very different from the Riki you remember. You have to admit, the girls squealing and calling him attractive are… right.

Wait, what?

You can’t believe you just called your childhood enemy attractive.

His features are really, really pretty. There’s a tiny, little mole under his eye that you’ve never noticed before. You don’t realise you’re staring until Riki opens his eyes, and at first, he looks confused. But then, a small smirk spreads across his lips.

“I know I’m pretty good looking, but you’re staring.”

“You looked nicer before you opened your mouth.” you retort, and Riki just smiles. “You just admitted that I looked nice.”

Your face is feeling hot again, and you hate it. The guy who told you he ate your charm bracelet shouldn’t be making you feel butterflies in your stomach.

“Shut up.”

“Is that the best comeback you’re able to come up with?”

“Riki, (Name), please stop talking in my class.” your teacher sighs, and you give her an apologetic look. “I’m sorry, Miss.” you two say in unison, and you meet eyes with Yuna.

You guys look like a couple, she mouths to you. What? you mouth back, and Yuna smiles.

Your heads were resting on the desk and you two were staring at each other! It looked like a Netflix rom-com scene!

You thought you’d feel the urge to gag and throw up, but somehow, you don’t. A small smile threatens to spread across your lips, but you stop yourself.

It’s then when you realise that you don’t feel disgusted at the thought of being with Riki in a romantic way.

And that kind of makes you terrified.

“What is this?” you ask, staring at the cup that Riki holds out to you.

“Boba.” Riki deadpans, and you roll your eyes. “Yeah, I know that, idiot. Why are you giving this to me?” you say, and Riki shrugs. “First of all, you asked what it was, so I answered. Plus, I accidentally bought two.”

You give him a questioning look, but take the drink nonetheless. “Thanks, Nishimura.”

“You’re welcome.” he says, then he walks off, and Chaehyun puts her hands on your shoulders and shakes you. “Dude, he totally likes you!”

“No, he doesn’t.” you say, and you take a sip of the drink.

It just so happens to be your exact boba order.

Weird, you think. He hasn’t seen you since fourth grade - how would he know?

“You’re smiling like an idiot right now.” Yuna says.

“No I’m not.”

“You totally were. I saw it.” she smirks, and you take another sip of the boba. “He’s been here for three days. I barely know the guy. Well, I knew him before, when he was an asshole and stole my lucky charm bracelet.”

“He was six years old.”

“Okay? And?”

“I’m sure he had his reasons.” Yuna smiles, and you give her a weird look. “That’s exactly what he told me. Have you been talking to him or something?” you ask, and Yuna shakes her head no - but the small smile making its way onto her lips tells you otherwise.

“Yuna, you’re a shit liar.”

“He asked me questions, what was I supposed to do? Not tell him?”

“Yes!”

“Oh. My bad, then.” Yuna says, and you bury your face into your hands. “Do you like him though?” Chaehyun asks.

The big question.

The guy in question is someone who stole your lucky bracelet, told you he ate it and in your opinion, is kind of partly to blame for the death of your fish, Mr Bubbles.

You’re supposed to say no. The answer is supposed to be no.

Why do you blurt out yes?

You clap your hand over your mouth immediately, and Yuna looks at you with wide eyes. “No! I mean no.” you say, and Chaehyun raises an eyebrow. “Sure, (Name). We heard what you said the first time.”

“Nope! You heard absolutely nothing.” you say, and you sling your backpack over one shoulder before getting up to leave.

“We know you like him!” Chaehyun whisper-yells to you, and you shake your head, pointing at your ears. “I can’t hear you!”

You take another sip of the boba when Chaehyun and Yuna are out of sight, and all you can think about is Riki’s freshly bleached blond hair, the tiny mole under his eye and his boxy grin.

Fuck.

Over the course of the next few weeks, you’ve realised that you really do like Nishimura Riki.

Your friends notice this too - you stare at him a bit too often in class, and you don’t groan and get annoyed when he talks to you, instead nodding along to his words with a grin.

Yuna tells you to meet her in the English classroom a few weeks after the conversation you had with her and Chaehyun at lunch.

You shouldn’t have agreed, because you should’ve expected her to pull some sort of stunt like this.

Because now you’re standing in the English classroom with Nishimura Riki, and Yuna has just locked the door.

“Yuna, let us out!” you yell at her, and you bang on the door. “Not until you two talk about this!” she laughs, and you groan.

“There’s nothing to talk about!” you sigh, and you see Riki fiddle with his fingers, unsure what to say. “Do you have something you wanna talk about?” you ask him, and he shrugs.

“I want to buy a Nintendo Switch.”

“Riki, you’re the one who wanted to tell them something important, so get to the point! ” you hear Yuna yells from outside of the door, and you frown.

“Something important? Did you like… eat someone else’s charm bracelet?” you joke, and Riki shakes his head. “I don’t eat charm bracelets.”

“Well, you ate mine.”

“And I thought you didn’t believe that I ate it.” Riki says with a small smile,, and you shrug. “Well, I think it’s funny that I know you as the charm bracelet eater. So, what do you want to tell me?”

You’ve never seen Riki so nervous.

“So, um. You know how I said I had my reasons for taking your bracelet?” Riki asks, and you nod, motioning for him to go on.

“It’s because… I liked you?”

Your jaw drops.

Nishimura Riki stole your bracelet because he liked you.

“You stole my bracelet… because you had a crush on me?” you sputter out in disbelief, and Riki nods.

“Sounds stupid, doesn’t it? I guess I just wanted your attention, or something. Six year old Riki was dumb.” he chuckles.

Your heart swells at the thought of Riki possibly having a crush on you too, but second grade was years ago, and feelings change. But you decide to take this small leap of faith - if he said no, you could just play it cool, or something of the sort.

“Quick question - do you still… like me?”

Riki’s eyes dart across the room frantically before he answers you. “If I told you yes, would you believe me?”

Riki’s face is bright red, and you find it adorable. It’s funny how the person you hated with a burning passion weeks ago is now the person that makes your heart skip a beat.

You place your hand on top of Riki’s, and he widens his eyes. “I don’t know if you can hear this, but my heart’s beating so fast that I think it might pound out of my chest.” he rambles, and you giggle.

“You’re cute, did you know that?”

“I hear that all the time. Just never from you.”

“I think you’ll be hearing that a lot more often from me, Nishimura.” you say, and if it’s even possible, you think Riki’s face gets even redder. “Wait, so do you mean that…”

“I like you too, loser.” you say, and that boxy grin that you’ve learnt to love appears once again, and you find yourself smiling too. “I’ll be your loser.” Riki says, and you give him a funny look.

“That’s… okay. Whatever you want, okay?” you say, and you lace your fingers with his. “Whatever I want?” Riki says, and there’s a smirk gradually making its way onto his lips.

“I’m not going to buy you a Switch. I’m broke, Riki.”

“No, I meant like. I want a kiss.”

“Oh.”

You feel your face getting hot, but you cup his cheeks with your hands and lean in, connecting your lips with his.

Riki tastes the strawberry chapstick he’s seen you put on during class, and he feels like heart is about to burst around the seams - he’s liked you since… practically forever. He’s sure that if this was some Netflix rom-com movie scene, the editors would add some firework effects around you two.

“Strawberry chapstick.” he mumbles when you two pull away.

“Yeah. Do you not like it or something?” you ask, and Riki frantically shakes his head no. “No! I don’t not like it! I love it! It’s cool!”

“Oh, okay. Cool. That’s good.” you say, and you give him an awkward thumbs up. “Did you just give me a thumbs up after you just kissed me?” he asks, and you shrug. “What are you supposed to do after you kiss someone? You’re the first guy I’ve kissed.”

Riki gasps, and you give him another funny look. “I’m your first kiss?”

“Yeah. Is that a problem?” you shrug, and Riki shakes his head, and he entwines his fingers with yours. “No, it’s just… you’re my first kiss too.” he says happily, swinging your arms back and forth.

Seeing him this happy makes you happy too, and you smile. “That’s nice.” you say, and Riki nods. “Yeah! Oh, and before I forget.”

Riki digs into his pocket, and he pulls out a familiar chain.

It’s your charm bracelet - the one that he took.

“So you didn’t eat it!” you say, and Riki gives you a sheepish smile. “Put it back on - it looks pretty on you.” he says, and you take the bracelet with a giddy grin.

“Now I can stop calling you the charm bracelet eater. I need to think of something else I can call you now.” you say, and Riki purses his lips.

“How about calling me your boyfriend instead?”

I’ve recently started watching enhypen vlogs and behind the scenes, I really like their kind of chill dynamic? Especially mother hen/hot uncle jay who is so far my bias…I can kinda see the jaywon, in that Choom vid you linked on your other blog especially, but I think ppl going looking for something to fill the jikook void are gonna be disappointed. I’d describe what I noticed so far as being similar in the sense of an intangible quality, sometimes just an expression or a look that if you’ve ever felt that way, you know. Kinda why I think trying to argue a ship is pointless, it’s all just subjective. Like to me, the way jikook look and speak to each other and the things they do for each other is so similar to me and my partner that of course it affects how I see them and there’s no possible way to convey that experience to another person, and no need to. lol what a ramble, sorry

if ppl are interested in them I really recommend just jumping into their vlogs, there’s a really good one where jay, jungwon and sunoo go to a pool LOL sunoo my queen….also the one where jaywon and jake randomly climb namsan tower and drag a staff along LOL I really loved that, it felt so loose….i haven’t got through them all though so would love if you had any others to suggest! (Not specifically jaywon, just in general)

Their dynamic is my favourite thing about them. After a group like BTS I don't think I can handle a second group that's chaotic in the same way, so their dynamic feels like a perfect fit for everything I like right now. The way their personalities play off each other is so cool to watch.

And about jaywon...

Jaywon are a problem for me because I've been watching them since the beginning. I understand what you're trying to say in comparing them to jikook. Just in terms of time spent, jikook's relationship is far more mature and established than anything happened with jaywon. But the thing is, with jaywon it only becomes more damning with every year that passes. And I've watched it happen. Maybe I'm just attached, but I think it's possible there's something there. If you only just got into them and there's already a few headscratchers for you then I doubt I'm far off in my guess.

I second your rec on their vlogs. Their lives too are really good in-ways to figuring out the guys.

Someone asked me to not tag jikook when talking about jaywon, and I understand why, but it's also how I keep track of posts on my blog. Overtagging seems to be the only thing that works now that Tumblr's search function has gone to shit. Both feel like they need to be careful with finances and are going through a financial crisis (eh, I feel like belift ain't paying enough to our boys). Very pure friendship gives really good vibes ngl. They're like yin and yang☯️, balancing eachother out. They're the 'it' friends that know how to respect each other but also be there for eachother (*sob* this is so cute💖🥰). Oh, they're graduated together and feel very good and happy. They feel like they're not able to portray their friendship in front of the camera and that makes them feel a bit sad. But overall they have this cute and balanced friendship.

JAY-NIKI

They have this 'Dad-son' friendship. Jay feels the need to take care of Niki as he's still young and naive and on the other hand Niki might feel that he can do things on his own. Now,this is the cause of the problem their Dad-son dynamic has its shadow side too i.e if they don't talk their feelings out,it's going to lead to conflicts (It's bcuz Jay has this affectionate side and Niki feels like its burdening and not really necessary). But... Once they understand each other and look past this, they'll have a stable, long-term loyalty towards each other.
