Imagine dating Harry during the Fine Line era and then having to listen to Cherry lmao can you write something like that? Pleaseee
I feel like I would have laughed tbh💀
Here you go...it's a short one
Warning- just fluff, bit of sad and insecure Y/N, I feel like I have written many sad shit lmao
*****
You were lying beside Harry on the studio floor. The carpet gave you a rug burn, but you could make sacrifice for your boy.
You were listening to his album with him. Both of you had one of the earphones connected to the phone playing songs, which would be out in 2 weeks. Lights up had just ended, and you were convinced it would be up in your top 3 with golden when soft guitar started playing.
Don't you call him baby...
You knew none of the songs were about you, but somehow, you knew this one might hurt you. Songs were a view inside Harry, how he feels, who he is, those lyrics are him being vulnerable and just like his songs, he's wonderful, a dreamy, a playful melody.
I just miss your accent and your friends...
It was very early in your relationship, and although you were convinced you were about to fall in love with him, you still had your insecurities. All of your friends warned you about him, and sometimes you would get inside your head and overthink his every action.
He never met your friends but he missed hers. She had beautiful french accent you don't, she's a model, beautiful, tall and has a amazing dressing sense which you call see Harry took inspiration from meanwhile you go out anywhere in joggers, most you do it wear jeans.
You were so different than her and you couldn't help but compare. Why would he date someone so...less than her unless you were just a moving part. A rebound from his last relationship, which was very much serious, what if your friends were right and he's still in love with her?
You didn't even realize the song had ended when you heard a woman's laugh, laugh, and then her beautiful accent. You were starting to get irritated cause why does she have to be so perfect?
It was a voicemail obviously left by her for him. The ceiling turned blurry as your eyes watered, you were feeling insecure, and didn't know if you should tell Harry or not. What if he thinks you're a whiny or a cry baby?
"Baby?" Suddenly, the ceiling was replaced by your boyfriend's beautiful face and his mop of curly hair.
"What's wrong?" He asked concerned, his eyes searching all over your face for any hint.
"Nothing it's just sad song" you fake laughed and whiped off your tears but Harry didn't buy it. He gave you a bored look and raised his eyebrows wanting the truth in answer.
You sighed and looked away from him to the space between you and him, "It's stupid" You mumbled.
He lifted your chin with his index finger and gave you a stern look, "Nothing is stupid when it comes to you and you wouldn't be crying if it was. Now chop chop tell me" He asked rolling over with you so now you very laying on his chest.
"Do-" You bit down on your lips and looked away again and started to pick on your cuticle, "Do you still have feelings for her?" You asked and then panicked, "Just- I mean, you started dating me so soon, and your relationship seemed so serious with her-"
"Oh sweetheart," Harry cooed and chuckled. He pulled you into him more, and you digged your nose into the crook of his neck, inhaling his smell and feeling comforted by it.
"Yes, my relationship with her was serious, but that doesn't mean you're anything less or just a rebound." He assured you, removing the hair that was fanned against the side of your face.
"I know it's too early to say this, but I knew the moment I saw you in that park sitting alone reading your book that you were the one." He kissed your head and snuggled more. You smiled against his neck and gave him a kiss, the mark from your lip gloss sitting there.
You had your doubts and thoughts, your anxiety always making worse out of things, but you also had Harry to shoo them away and protect you, give you a good cuddle whenever cold thoughts surrounded you.

Taehyung didn’t remember sleeping anywhere near you last night.
He remembered that even though you willingly agreed to share the same bed, he still opted for caution and slept with the most space between you two as possible.
Though when his eyes fluttered open the next morning, eyeballs burning from the light that bled into the suite, the first thing he realized was that he was not on his side of the bed from last night.
No, he had somehow gravitated towards the center, and as if almost on cue, your slight movement and the sound of your breathing alerted him of your nearby presence.
Peering down at you, Taehyung caught sight of your sleepy head turned towards him and lying on his arm, his other thrown over your torso with you unsuspectingly nuzzled into his side.
Taehyung’s eyes shot open, acknowledging he had succumbed to his habit of hugging something to sleep during the course of the night and he internally panicked. He began retracting his arms slowly, just about drawing himself from you until alarms rang in his head at the sight of you stirring in your sleep.
Taehyung took the golden opportunity to sit up in a flash, having to physically shake his head to rid the image of your tranquil, sleeping face from his brain, crushing the thought that it was kind of cute.
He found himself chanting the same denial from last night, he couldn’t be thinking of such complicated things concerning you when he knew the second he’d step foot inside his home, there’d be a mountain of paperwork ready for him; even more on his work desk.
He had to be thinking about his job, not you.
Even if Taehyung was married now, it wouldn’t lessen the amount of work that plagued his life nor make it any less demanding. If anything, his life would be harder now considering the fact that he had another priority to add to his list, another aspect of his life he had to split his attention between.
He didn’t necessarily hate the idea, just found himself needing to work harder than he already was.
Taehyung sighed heavily at the thought and swung his legs off the bed, rubbing his tired eyes. He took a moment to look back at you, thinking if he observed you a second time he’d be able to piece together how the hell you two ended up in that position, that close.
By evidence of the forgotten blanket half-thrown off you, he could see you were the tossing-and-turning type, maybe the only explanation for your proximity considering he was the same.
He also noticed you slept all curled up, like you were cold and the only warmth you knew was snuggling yourself.
Cute.
There it was again, cute.
Why does that word even exist?
Taehyung discarded the notion altogether and stood to his feet, stretching out his stiff muscles. He made for the bathroom eagerly to begin his day, though not without fixing at least some of the blanket back onto you.
Tumblr media
“You don’t have a driver?”
“Not for everywhere I go. I have two hands, I can drive myself.” Taehyung made it a statement to jazz hands at you, showcasing the perfectly capable limbs he was gifted with.
“That’s.. nice, actually. I always see asshole CEO’s getting other people to drive them around.” You relayed as you trailed behind Taehyung, letting him lead you towards the front of the hotel where dozens of expensive cars lined the curb side.
You had no clue which luxury vehicle belonged to Taehyung because quite frankly, he could probably afford every car your eyes caught sight of. It wasn’t until he approached a certain one and retrieved his keys from the valet that your jaw completely dropped, floored.
“This is your car?” You gawked, the sleek design, crispness of its shape and nearly sparkling gloss completely sweeping you off your feet.
“Yeah, think someone like me can’t get a car like this?” Taehyung cocked an eyebrow, gesturing towards himself.
“It’s just-wow. Mercedes CLS?” You inquired without really looking at him, inspecting the car instead as you admired its every curve. Safe to say, you were beyond in love with it. Even if you were always more of a minimalist and preferred the average product, there was just something gorgeous about luxury cars that appealed to you.
“Yeah, actually it is.” Taehyung looked at you impressed, momentarily reminded of just how different you were compared to any other woman he’s chanced upon.
How many of them knew car models?
Taehyung was intrigued by the fact before speaking with one of the hotel workers, confirming if they had loaded his car with both your luggage and some wedding sentiments your parents insisted you keep.
Once receiving affirmation Taehyung made towards your side of the car and pulled the door open. He flashed you a tight-lipped smile as he gestured for you to hop in, drawing you out of your stupor. You thanked him warmly before sliding into your seat.
He let you scramble in comfortably before shutting the door and walking to his side, positioning himself in and clicking on his seatbelt. He watched as your expression lit up once occupying the car, face beaming with excitement as you touched and drank in at the high-end features the vehicle had to offer. Taehyung found himself smiling before he licked his lips and straightened his face, igniting the engine and beginning the smooth drive.
It was easy to settle the debate on where you both would be living. Taehyung was an enormously rich CEO who lived in an expensive, massive home while you lived in a measly apartment. You knew it was useless to live separately, even more useless to have him live with you. And so you agreed without protest to pack your things and relocate, begin your move into the house you’d share with him for a lifetime.
The car ride remained quite silent, you mindlessly bopping your head to whatever mainstream song played on the radio, while Taehyung tapped his fingers against the steering wheel or his lap.
You found your eyes wandering to his slender fingers wrapped around the wheel every so often, sometimes venturing to the other one he placed against his thigh. You began reprimanding yourself once you realized with all the staring, observing and ogling, you most certainly had a thing for his hands already.
Fuck.
They were just so big, bigger than what you’ve seen of the average man and it didn’t help that they looked crafted to perfection.
There was just something about the veins that decorated them, his palm large in size as his fingers seemed deft turning and working the steering wheel. His little accessories like a ring or two, bracelets and his watch did absolutely nothing to deter your interest either.
It only increased once you realized he looked good driving, really good. You knew men had this common attractiveness to them when they drove, watching them all focused and effortlessly working the car somehow sexy; but watching Taehyung drive was another experience entirely.
He looked insanely hot, and you felt like throwing yourself out your window for even thinking such a thing. It was another case of you ogling him without realizing until his deep voice suddenly fished you out of your thoughts, questioning. “Did you like the wedding?”
“Huh?”
“The wedding, did you like it?” Taehyung repeated, glancing at you.
“Does it really matter if I did?” You asked, this one phrase seeming to perfectly sum up the misfortune of your life, provoking an ironic laugh even.
“I think it does. A bride should always enjoy her wedding.”
“Well, I didn’t.” You deadpanned, your expression turning frustrated having to remember that one of, if not the most special night of your life had just been robbed of you, thrown to the wolves while you were only left to accept the sad fact.
“C’mon, you didn’t enjoy a single thing?” Taehyung didn’t mean to flash back to the kiss you two shared, though found himself doing exactly so.
You didn’t enjoy that? he questioned in his head.
“Not really, I just imagined having more choice in the wedding.” You answered honestly, trying not to sulk so much. “It’s not you, I just... thought I’d be able to decide things at my own wedding. I’m grateful your parents did so much, but I didn’t really get to choose anything.” You grew more solemn as your gaze fixated on nothing, watching the world pass you by through the car window.
“My favourite flowers weren’t even there.” You said only despondently to yourself, shoulders drooping, though Taehyung didn’t miss it.
“You don’t like roses?”
Your eyes flashed towards him with furrowed eyebrows, surprised he heard your comment. You straightened up before shrugging back a response. “I like peonies.”
Taehyung looked at your side profile as you turned away, finding the conversation turning more sorrowful than he liked. He allowed some silence to linger as you leaned your chin against your palm, boringly watching the bustling streets.
He decided to change the subject.
“So you don’t think I’m an asshole, huh?”
“What?”
“You said you always see ‘asshole CEO’s’ getting people to drive them around. But I don’t, so I’m not an asshole to you?” Taehyung halved his attention between you and the road, glancing in your direction with one hand working the steering wheel.
You thought the question over, “No, you’re not an asshole.” You said simply, distracted by the thoughts that previously occupied your mind.
“I see.” Taehyung pursed his lips. Another beat of silence passed through the downcast air before Taehyung perked up again.
“Is it just the driving? Or do you have other criteria?” Taehyung asked inquisitively, leaning back into his seat as he observed you.
You could detect from the corner of your eyes the way his stance drew attention to his legs, thighs broad as he sat. “I guess there is.”
“Like what?”
You didn’t really know why Taehyung was so curious. You thought it was common knowledge what the stereotypical asshole CEO was like; they were nearly all jerks with horrible one-percenter mentalities and treated people like gravel.
You scoffed a bit. “They’re usually so full of themselves. They act like they own the place all the time, which makes sense at their own companies but not everywhere else. It’s like the position gets to their heads. Even the way they talk is condescending, belittling, or straight up rude to anyone not on their level. It wouldn’t kill to be nice.” You revealed almost too eagerly, avoiding eye contact with Taehyung as you viewed the traffic on the road ahead, remembering he was a CEO himself.
Long story short, you’ve had your fair share of experiences meeting them as you grew up during the beginnings of your father’s company. They were quick to skew your opinion ever since you watched the way they treated your father all due to having a start-up, for simply being small in name or reputation. They acted like he was less than, some even daring to behave as though his company would simply never make it.
It always boiled your blood, left an extremely distasteful image of CEOs and the business world in your head.
And you were certain it all sucked after that.
“Understandable.” Taehyung nodded agreeably. “But you think I don’t fit any of that?” He rested a hand against his thigh, sitting laxed as he spread his legs apart further. This time it was definitely hard to miss the way they appeared, all laid out and long as your eyes drank him in, following up his thighs all the way to his-
“You don’t. I thought maybe since you’re super successful you’d be full of yourself. But you’re not, really.” You snapped yourself out of whatever the hell you were doing, trying to refocus on the conversation.
“Ah, seems like a stepping stone.”
“Stepping stone? Towards what?”
“Towards you not hating me.” His voice came out with a more solemn timbre than you expected, his jaw tightening for a mere second.
Taehyung only thought such a thing because even if he decided you didn’t harbour negative feelings towards him, there was no way of him determining whether that was true or not without your real input.
“I don’t hate you, Taehyung. I don’t.. think I can.” You claimed with poignancy, his statement causing you to reflect on your own feelings about him.
You don’t hate Taehyung, you couldn’t because he did absolutely nothing wrong in this situation. He was dragged in just like you were. You only despised the unfairness of the arrangement, not him.
There wasn’t much to hate about him.
“So you’re saying you like me then, aren’t you?” Taehyung suddenly teased light-heartedly, all smug as his amused eyes flickered to you.
“Shut up, I never said that.” You turned away, scandalized by his remark.
“I’m kidding. But, why do you think you can’t hate me? I pretty much.. ruined your life.” Taehyung internally felt his chest tighten at the words, remembering the exact thoughts from where he stood no less than 24 hours ago, seconds from lawfully marrying you.
“And I didn’t ruin yours?” This time you turned your gaze towards Taehyung, meaningfully. Your eyes instinctively communicated your emotions as they locked with his for a moment, Taehyung all attentive.
“I took away from you just as much you took away from me. We both ruined each other’s lives, there’s no use in blaming each other. That’s why I can’t hate you.” You finalized, crossing your arms and opting to watch the passing buildings through your window again.
Taehyung absorbed your sudden confession with reason, realizing that in a sense, you two were partners in this unfortunate case. Even if your matrimony constituted a forced partnership neither of you liked, there seemed to be a natural comradery in having to deal with the aftermath of that forced partnership.
Trying to accept it.
“I don’t think I can hate you, either.” Taehyung admitted, ending the more miserable part of the conversation as you fell silent. You thought he was done until he decided to bother you again.
“I think you’re still saying you like me, though.”
You turned to him half-appalled before pointing towards the road, eyes narrowed. “Just drive us home, will you?”
Taehyung laughed at the moment and pressed down on the accelerator, internally grinning at the fact you never said no to his statement.
Tumblr media
“This is your house?” You found yourself gawking again at something that belonged to Taehyung, stepping inside a luxury home you’ve only ever dreamed of living in. Sure, you lived with your parents until you were 18, though your father was still starting out with his company for most of those years, not exactly owning anything too luxurious until after you permanently moved out.
So as you stood trying to prop your heels off yourself, your jaw dropped at the sheer elegance and high-status look to the interior of Taehyung’s home. You had already done enough gawking at the exterior, but being inside and processing the fact that you were now to inhabit this home for the rest of your life sent another wave of shock.
You immediately observed Taehyung was the type who decorated his home with only the finest, his taste easily identifiable. Aesthetic, lavish, charming. He seemed like a man of utter simplicity though his home said otherwise, showcasing an artistic, exquisite feel you never really expected from him.
“When will you stop saying that?” He titled his head and smiled through a laugh, removing his shoes and slipping into his indoor slippers.
“Right, sorry.” You were still struggling for normalcy, somehow forgetting almost every hour Taehyung’s wealth and only registering it once you saw something that indicated it.
Taehyung sauntered inside and took a deep breath, enjoying the feel of his abode. He enjoyed nothing more than being home, in the comfort of his own space. Especially for someone who worked so busily, he found pleasure in doing the bare minimum at home. Relishing in the feeling right now, he pressed his lips together in a smile before glancing back at your struggling figure, catching sight of your size.
His eyebrows shot up to the sky. “Woah, you’re short.”
“Huh?”
“I think I’ve only ever seen you in heels.” Taehyung informed. “Now that you’re not wearing them you’re a lot shorter than I thought. You’re tiny.” He pointed out as he eyed you from head to toe, processing the amount of height you lost simply from removing your shoes.
“I mean, that’s kind of what heels do, you know, they add height.” You deadpanned, stating the obvious for him.
“Sorry, it’s just..” Kind of cute, he thought, though fought for another response. “I could probably throw you.”
Nice save.
“Excuse me? It’s not my fault you’re so tall.” You scowled at him. “Besides, you’re all height and no muscle, you probably can’t even carry me.”
“Wanna see me try?” Taehyung was already coming towards you with his arms held out and you sputtered immediately, “No, no, no.” you held your hands up defensively. “Let’s just start the house tour, yeah?” you offered a smile for compromise.
“That’s what I thought.” Taehyung narrowed his eyes coyly and turned on his heel, signaling you to follow him.
What you realized strolling through the home as Taehyung discussed its details was that it emphatically represented him like an open book. Even if Taehyung was predominantly unreadable and seemed to always hide a mystery behind his eyes, you could see nearly all of him reflected in his home.
You often found valuable trinkets or sentiments scattered around the house. It seemed like he cherished a lot of things in his life, namely memories or people. It would also be hard to miss the exquisite selection of paintings and embellishments he draped the walls with, all harbouring their own charm and adding to the overall artistic feel of his home.
There were famous works consisting of Vincent Van Gogh all the way to local Korean artists you’ve never heard of, though admired their work.
It seemed as though he selected the paintings himself.
Another large aspect you couldn’t miss were the many photos he kept, calling to question whether they were of his own work.
“Did you take these?” You approached a shelf in one of his grand hallways on the second floor, hand brushing the wooden frame of a captured photo; six men including Taehyung himself posing comfortably, like they were extremely close, backdrop reflecting what seemed to be a trip.
“I took all of them.” He stated casually, hands tucked into his pockets as he eyed the shelf along with you.
“All?”
He simply nodded and didn’t elaborate further as he watched you admire the photos, yourself impressed by his adeptness for photography.
“You’re really good.” You complimented absentmindedly, enjoying the other photos of not only people but scenery, empty streets, candid shots from what looked to be his own little adventures.
“Thanks.” Was all Taehyung could manage, trying to mask the sheer gratitude he felt hearing the first ever person to admire his work; something that wasn’t related to being a CEO or a businessman.
He also felt slightly embarrassed you’d seen a small part of him he usually hid.
Taehyung continued walking down the hallway until he reached the end, revealing what you could tell was the largest room in the house. You were thrown off by just how unnecessarily large it was. It seriously reminded you of an extravagant hotel suite, more like the grandest one among them.
“This is our room.” Taehyung introduced, gesturing towards its interior.
“Our?”
Taehyung nodded “I should’ve told you earlier but I wanted us to sleep in the same room. If we slept apart our marriage wouldn’t look convincing to my two housekeepers. I trust them but I don’t want any information about us getting out to the public, not over my dead body.” Taehyung stated in earnest as he relayed the information, wandering further into the room.
“You really care that much about publicity?” you genuinely questioned.
Taehyung scoffed. “Not me, I couldn’t care less about what people think.” He denied instantly, almost laughably. “It’s my father. He hates bad press, especially concerning our family or the company.”
“I thought bad press is still press, so it’s good.” You suggested as you followed him further into the room, admiring that though large, his room held a sense of comfort to it. Quite frankly, all of his home felt rather welcoming and cozy, surprising of a CEO who ran such a monstrously successful company.
“My father doesn’t think so. Kim Enterprises has always been generational, each of our CEO positions strictly kept within the family. Our name is our brand and pride, it alone accounts for at least half of our success. We’re extremely well-known for our high status, it’s just plain fact in the upper social circles of Korea. We can’t afford to taint our name with petty things like bad press or corruption, our reputation is too valuable.” Taehyung stated this all nonchalantly as he adjusted his suit jacket in his mirror, like it was something he’s grown accustomed to and has known all his life.
You found your opinion impeding his words.
“So you can never just, escape this life? As long as you’re a Kim you’re bound to this company?” You found the concept wildly restrictive, clearly shackling down any person that would run the business and you felt a disagreeing shiver shoot through your spine.
“Of course, why would you want anything else?” Taehyung tiled his head to the side, eyeing you in genuine questioning and your entire being was trying to bite back the desire to correct him, tell him there’s so much more to life than just some company your family owns. Though you opted for changing the subject instead, unwilling to step on his toes and dictate his life when you knew next to nothing about it.
It wasn’t your place.
“Woah, you have a balcony?!” You exclaimed with a simper, eyes flickering towards the curtains that revealed two ajar French doors leading to an open space.
You made towards it excitedly and stopped just in the middle of the platform, enjoying the breeze of the fresh air.
“It’s my favourite part of the house.” You didn’t even realize Taehyung followed you until his towering figure stood directly behind you, feeling his proximity permeate through your body.
You swallowed.
“Why don’t you look at the view?” Taehyung cocked his head towards the railing of the balcony, though you didn’t move a step.
You weren’t about to tell Taehyung you’re terribly afraid of heights.
“I-I can see from here. Wow, looks beautiful.” You perked up superficially, trying to throw him off and changing the subject again. “By the way, what’s our closet situation gonna look like?”
“Ah, let me show you.” Taehyung strided back into the room towards the sliding double doors you spotted earlier. He almost theatrically glided both dark wooden panels open and your jaw dropped for the 47th time today.
You were welcomed by a ridiculously large walk-in closet, enough to be renovated into its own bedroom. You simply couldn’t normalize its size, especially after registering every suit, tie, watch or accessory Taehyung stored in the gracious space.
You couldn’t even begin to imagine how much money lied in here.
“Oh my God.” Was all you could manage, meandering in sparingly as you viewed each and every expensive piece he owned in the room, no doubt of the highest quality designers, finest of men’s fashion.
“You don’t have to worry about unpacking and moving in here, the housekeepers will do that for you.” Taehyung watched as you looked upon in awe, finding the way your eyes sparkled with emotion very similar to that of Bambi’s.
“How will I fit-”
“I specifically made space for you, there’s enough.” Taehyung stated, leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed. He’d resolved a while ago he really would try to take this marriage seriously, victoriously achieve the work-life balance his father kept preaching.
He saw giving up his closet space as the first step.
It was indeed so because Taehyung thoroughly enjoyed fashion. He genuinely adored every suit, accessory and outfit in his collection, though if he wanted to reach this new goal of balance, successfully add you to his list of priorities, then he had to be willing to cut down.
Even if that meant reallocating a third of his exorbitant wardrobe just for you, he’d try not to mind.
“Are you sure? I could just use another room’s-”
“I want to.” Taehyung finalized as his eyes turned unreadable from across the room, locking his gaze with yours and you were only left to look back impressed, his generosity unforeseen.
“Thank you.” You voiced a little weak, still shy by the suffocating nature of his stare.
“Don’t mention it.” He offered plainly, propping himself off the wall. He looked off to the side eyeing the empty pockets of space he left for you, until your voice called out to him.
“Taehyung.”
“Hm?” He snapped his vision back to you.
You wanted to ask him something, more so a favour and you were unsure how to word the request. “Um.. I didn’t want to ask so openly, but..” You found yourself beating around the bush, timid of what his response would be.
“Go on.”
“Um, so it seemed like there were a lot of empty rooms in this house, and I was just wondering if I could maybe.. transform one of them into an art studio for myself?” You winced at your own request.
“I’m sorry, it’s just I had one at my old place and it really grew on me. I would get most of my work done in that room and gained a lot of inspiration from it. I have a lot of art supplies and designed often in that studio, so I need a home for all my supplies and it would suck getting rid of it all. I’m sorry it means I would have to steal one of your rooms in the house, if you don’t want me to then-”
Taehyung couldn’t help but break out into a small grin as he watched you ramble on, shyly fidget with your fingers, so apprehensive of asking him for something and it reminded him why he was so eager to provide you with anything you wanted.
You spent too long trying to do everything on your own, achieve everything on your own, relying solely on yourself. Taehyung could see this all as plain as day, quite enjoying of how he’s never really met someone like you, and wanted you to know you didn’t always have to be so independent.
Especially with him.
“Y/N.” He called out to you with the same honey-coloured tone from last night, stopping you. Your eyes flickered to his, awaiting his next sentence and Taehyung already found himself having a thing for your doe-eyes.
Fuck.
“Of course you can have a room. You can have anything in this house. It’s yours.” Taehyung stated with a degree of assurance, his eyes locking with yours in earnest.
You both shared a look as your lips curved into a gracious smile, biting your lip to contain it. His stare wasn’t so much intimidating as it was merely.. calm. Gazing at you for the sole purpose of gazing, and you found some heat rushing to your face under his scrutiny.
Taehyung seemed to realize he was staring and immediately cleared his throat, turning a little nervous as he began another conversation. “So um, I’m sorry to say this,” he began with unease, almost apprehensive and you didn’t know what he was so sorry about. “But I have work today.”
You blinked. “What?”
Taehyung internally winced at your reaction, hands finding his pockets. “I took some time off for the wedding, so now I have twice the amount of work left behind. I need to complete it.” He informed straightforwardly.
“Our wedding was just yesterday, though, aren’t you tired?” You were only taken aback because you were slightly concerned for his wellbeing, wasn’t he tired from yesterday? You recalled him knocking out almost immediately upon hitting the pillow of your hotel bed last night, snoozing away.
“Maybe, but I can’t afford to rest. I’ll only have more to complete if I do, so I won’t be spending anymore time with you today.” Taehyung relayed the information, readying himself for the even greater disappointing news he’d be passing on.
“Actually, we won’t be able to go on our honeymoon, either.” Taehyung thought it was best to slip in all the bad news, growing more and more unrelaxed as he was unsure of how you’d react.
Though what you said next had him nearly floored.
“Honeymoon? Taehyung, that’s the least of my concerns, you should at least rest a day before getting back to work. That’s not really healthy.” You chastised him as lightly as possible, still afraid to be stepping on his toes when you didn’t know his life.
Taehyung was certain you’d hate having been stripped of a beautiful vacation where you could’ve relaxed in the sun and tropics of Cancun. Your father had mentioned to him you’ve always longed to visit the breath-taking city in Mexico, its clear waters and tropical air as a means to truly get away from your stifling life.
So when he found you disregarding the trip altogether and instead focusing on him, more precisely his health, he was left damn well speechless.
There you were again paying attention to the littlest things about him he didn’t care much for; he still had that bandage you offered him a month ago tucked into one of his pockets, not wanting to use the adhesive just yet.
“I’ll be fine. I’m just sorry we can’t go on the vacation because of me, it would’ve been nice, you know?” Taehyung apologized, feeling genuinely guilty for having ruined the honeymoon. Even if you two weren’t going to travel as some lovey-dovey couple, you both simply could’ve enjoyed the time off.
“It’s okay, just, at least work from home today. Heading to the office would be too much.” You suggested for the sake of the fatigue you could discern on him.
“Oh, don’t worry, I’m gonna be home for the next few days since everyone thinks we’ll be on our honeymoon.”
“Oh. That’s.. good.” You nodded faintly, half at the idea you two were even faking your honeymoon and half at the blasphemous energy he had to work after yesterday.
The sleep from last night was nearly not enough to recharge from the antics of the wedding, having drained your batteries for the next few days. You were certain his were drained too; he was half the damn couple.
“I should get going. I’ll send Mrs. Choi and Seo up with your things. They’re probably finished with lunch too, you should eat.” Taehyung advised as he stepped out of the walk-in closet, running a hand through his gorgeous hair and you couldn’t help but ogle at the sexy way his strands fell back on him.
“Okay.” You voiced as you followed him out, watching him near the room’s door and just about to vacate the premise before you spoke up. “Taehyung.”
He stopped in his tracks, peering back at you. “Yes?”
“You should eat something, too.”
Taehyung half-smiled at you with a nod “Sure”, before stepping out of the room, leaving you alone.
And you couldn’t help but kind of like the way he smiles.
Tumblr media
It was well into the evening now, bordering dinner time as you helped the last of your clothes into Taehyung’s closet, refusing to let the older housekeepers do all the work by themselves considering it was your own luggage.
You also tried to occupy Taehyung’s room as scarcely as you could with your belongings, feeling odd about suddenly moving in with all your might and changing things around. It just didn’t feel appropriate, like you were invading his space and so you opted for scattering only your necessary items.
“That should be the last of it, Mrs. Choi.” You retrieved your last piece of clothing from the rather soft-spoken housekeeper, tucking the blazer away among the rest. You were satisfied to see not only your wardrobe neatly organized now, but fit just about right with Taehyung’s things.
He was right about space, there was enough.
“Mrs. Kim, please rest. You didn't have to move a muscle at all for us.” Mrs. Choi remarked, genuinely concerned for you.
“Yes, please, Mrs. Kim. We can finish up with the little things. I’ve just finished preparing dinner downstairs, you should eat.” Mrs. Seo chimed in as she entered the walk-in closet, gesturing towards the door.
“Are you sure? I can-”
“Mrs. Kim, you’re very kind for offering your help, we’re very grateful you’ve done so. Though we are Mr. Kim’s housekeepers, we are meant to care for his home and his lovely wife. You need not worry about helping us.” Mrs. Choi stated with an earnest tone, speaking respectfully as she addressed you.
You were going to protest again before you considered her words, registering that if you indeed helped them, it would technically negate the entire purpose of their work.
You bit back your reply as a result, crafting a new one.
“I see, I’m sorry, Mrs. Seo, Mrs. Choi. I’m just.. very used to doing things on my own,” you looked towards the ground. “I apologize.” You almost dipped for a bow until Mrs. Choi rapidly cautioned you, scrambling towards your figure.
“Oh dear, Mrs. Kim! You do not need to bow to us, you’re Mr. Kim’s wife, you are the one who is bowed to.”
“Yes, you do not need to apologize either, we appreciate your help, it was very sweet of you.” Mrs. Seo added with a warm smile, bowing to you instead. “Please go for dinner downstairs, I’ve also informed Mr. Kim for dinner, though I’m unsure if he has made his way down yet.” She added on, urging you towards the room's exit and you recognized it was probably better to listen to her.
Even if all this high-class, status stuff had yet to sink in or make sense to you after being away for so long, you understood there was an eventual tolerance you had to build for it. Just as Mrs. Choi said, you’re Kim Taehyung’s wife now, and that came with a hell lot of status you hadn’t even scratched the surface of yet.
You could already tell it was going to be a pain in the ass.
“I suppose I should. I’ll get going, then.” You smiled graciously at both women, appreciative of their kindness and began vacating the closet. You just about pulled the room door open before Mrs. Seo suddenly came to you.
“Oh! Mrs. Kim,” she halted you. “I was informed by Mr. Kim to provide this to you. He would have done so himself though he’s quite busy at the moment.” Mrs. Seo extended her hand and presented a pristine looking card, black and incredibly sleek in design. Your eyebrows furrowed until you noticed the telltale symbols, almost ominously minimal branding indicating a rare card only those with some of the highest networths in Korea could own.
Your eyes widened in horror.
The Black Card.
“P-pardon?” You needed her to reiterate, there was no way Kim Taehyung was giving you a black card, the same card that was limitless on credit and only exclusively owned by the affluent one-percenters of society.
“He’s informed me this belongs to you now, and that you’re to keep it in your possession.” Mrs. Seo elaborated, smiling through the mental whiplash you were currently experiencing.
“Belongs to.. me? This is mine?” You were still having trouble processing, why would Taehyung be gifting you this? Who’s account was it even attached to? Was it yours and he’s decided to graciously pay all the expensive fees, or worse, was it joined with his own account?
Don’t tell me it’s joined with his account.
“Yes, Mrs. Kim. It’s yours.” Mrs. Seo held it out more outwardly, nudging it in your direction.
Your mouth fell agape for another second before you mentally collected yourself, quickly grabbing the card and thanking her as you made your exit, marching through the house for Taehyung’s unbelievable ass.
Taehyung could not be providing you with this card. It was irrational, simply had to have been a decision he made with at least two bottles of soju in him, right? You didn’t care what his reasoning would be, you were denying and returning this. There was no way in hell you’d accept this card, especially if he linked his own personal account to it.
You tried loosely recalling where Taehyung mentioned his study, logically assuming he was working there. You inspected majority of the second floor, working your way through the halls until you finally caught sight of the familiar wooden doors with glass panels, slightly ajar, light bleeding through.
You made for the room quickly and stormed in without a care, attempting to steady your breathing from all the rushing around. You caught Taehyung completely off guard, having shredded his suit jacket to instead sport the rolled up sleeves of his dress shirt, adorning black-rimmed, designer glasses.
He looked 100x hotter than he should’ve.
Taehyung suddenly propped up from the leaned-back position he’d assumed on his chair, expression caught by surprise. “Y/N?” He questioned, eyebrows furrowing.
You held up the card and addressed him immediately. “Taehyung, what’s this? Why are you giving this to me?” You huffed, looking at him incredulously.
“The card? For you to use..?” Taehyung responded cooperatively, confused as to why you seemed so frazzled.
“But why, Taehyung? This is a black card, the annual fees on this are insane and I can’t pay-”
“You’re not paying for them, I am.” Taehyung cut in, shutting the binder he was holding and placing it on his desk.
“What? No, no way. If it’s my account then I should be the one-”
“It’s not your account, either, it’s mine.” Taehyung brought his elbows to his desk, hands clasped together in front of his lips. It was now he gave you that same intimidating stare he did back when you first met him, calculative and devoid of expression.
It seemed he did this when he got serious.
“Your account? But-Taehyung, this is your money, I can’t just have it. Please, take this back.” You stepped towards his desk to return the card eagerly, but Taehyung’s firm tone stopped you.
“No, it’s yours. I gave it to you to keep.” His words held this underlying sense of authority, scratch that, dominance when he spoke seriously, resolute. You could instantly tell he possessed a natural sense of alpha male characteristics, enough that even though he wasn’t being harsh or looming, his words and the tone he coated them with held more power than you could manifest.
You almost cowered, but remained adamant on returning the card. It was worse with the card attached to his account, you couldn’t just keep Taehyung’s money like it was your own, it simply wasn’t. Your money sat ordinarily in a separate account on a separate card, which you were happy enough to use. You weren’t going to mooch off of him, it went against every principle that made up your very being.
“This is your money, Taehyung. I have no right to use it.”
“You’re my wife. You have every right in the world to use it.” Taehyung countered with no emotion, or at least any you could discern, uncertain what was running through his mind with only his eyes as a guide towards the answer.
And you knew his eyes didn’t tell.
“Taehyung, this doesn’t feel right to me. This isn’t my money and I can’t use it.” You emphasized more strongly, drawing closer to his desk though halting your actions once he spoke again.
“My money is your money, you can always use it.” You knew he was relaxed, appearing practically unbothered as he leaned onto his desk and eyed you. Though with the intense look in his eyes, his aura screaming for anyone within the vicinity to submit to him, he could easily seem frustrated with the situation, namely you.
And it made you want to crawl into a hole.
“No, it isn’t. I’ve already intruded your home, taken your closet, your room and even an extra one just for myself. I will not take your money either. Please, take this back.” You held out the card more prominently, desperate to have him understand you.
Taehyung wasn’t necessarily frustrated by you, no, he was slightly pissed you kept referring to everything as just his and not yours, that he was the only one considering you two as a married couple now while you still viewed each other separately.
Did you not see him as your husband yet?
He also disliked the fact that you seemed scared of him, or unable to trust him like last night. He could see you fighting back the urge to cower away, genuinely upsetting him you still held a degree of fear and unsureness in your eyes.
Why are you so afraid of me?
“Y/N, everything isn’t just mine anymore, it’s yours, too. We’re a married couple, husband and wife. What’s mine is yours.” Taehyung tried to reason, loosening himself up more to seem less intimidating, more approachable.
“But money, Taehyung-it’s different. I didn’t even want to take my own father’s money, there’s no way I’ll take yours, please.” Pleading leaked into your tone as you lips started doing that thing where they just about pout, emphasizing their plushiness and Taehyung couldn’t help but notice it again.
He started growing frustrated as he removed his glasses, placing them on his desk and pinching the bridge of his nose. It seemed like he was digesting the situation, searching for the best approach.
“Y/N, look. I know the kind of situation you had with your father, but I’m not him. Didn’t you hear what Mrs. Choi and Seo addressed you as?”
You thought it over, unknowing of where he was taking this. “They.. called me Mrs. Kim.”
“Exactly. Even my last name is yours, everything I have is yours. I’m your husband, I’m always going to provide you with things from now on. That card is just one of many.” Taehyung offered his best explanation, making sure his tone wasn’t as serious to sidetrack any fear you still had.
“I understand. But this is a black card, Taehyung, and it’s your hard-earned money, not mine. It feels wrong even just having it.” You couldn’t fight your inner turmoil, you genuinely believed this to be wrong. After spending almost a decade trying to work for yourself, pay for yourself, seldom seeking the help of another, this just left a disagreeing feeling to churn in your stomach.
Taehyung sighed heavily before pushing his chair back, rising from his seat. He made his way over to you where you grew unintentionally defensive, retracting from him slightly as he neared you. He noticed it and pursed his lips, reaching out for your upper arms and taking them warmly, tenderly, waiting for your eyes to meet his before he spoke to you.
“Y/N, do you remember what I said before I kissed you yesterday?”
Your eyes widened having been reminded of the intimate moment, nodding at him innocently. Taehyung witnessed you trying to avoid eye contact and found himself softening.
“I didn’t say that without reason. I meant it when I said I would take care of you. Your father is a different story, if you don’t want to use his money, I respect that. But I’m your husband, and I want to be a good one. I want to give you things.. do things for you simply because I want to.” Taehyung reasoned, gripping you lightly. “I want you to use my money, you’re allowed to use it.” He tried voicing with sincerity, earnestly, hoping he could change your mind.
He saw you still hesitating to accept the offer, however, deciding on a compromise.
“Look, you don’t have to use it all the time. You can still use your own card, but you can use mine here and there. Seriously, Y/N, using it won’t even make a dent on me. I’m the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company, use it at your discretion.” Taehyung could practically see your gears shifting, searching for your eyes as he wished you’d understand him.
He saw this as a second step towards work-life balance, only feeling the responsibility and genuine desire to be the good husband in spite of the unfortunate nature of your marriage. He didn’t want any doubt concerning his ability to be a good husband, either.
After all, when Taehyung did something, he always did the best he possibly could.
“Okay, I guess you’re right. But I do have my own money, and I’ll be using that 100x more often than yours.” You relaxed and oddly let him hold you, looking down at the black card that rested in your hand and clutching it to your palm.
Taehyung realized he was still holding you and let go, retiring to fluff his hair instead. You caught a glimpse of his bicep underneath his rolled up sleeve as he did so, and you truly hated you chose a time like this to find him stunningly attractive.
“You should come downstairs, Mrs. Seo prepared dinner.” You ignored your thoughts.
“You go first, I’ll be down in a second.”
You nodded agreeably and turned away, leaving his study. You took a second look at the card in your hand, then glanced around the house as you strolled through it, trying to embed what Taehyung said into the crevices of your resistant thinking.
Everything I have is yours, you reiterated, registering that Taehyung had in fact grown accustomed to the idea of you two as a couple already. He’s accepted it, embraced it, even enforced it now with his earlier declarations and this black card. You automatically felt behind, like you were the tortoise in the race and needed to pick up your pace.
If Taehyung had already come to terms with your marriage, it was only a matter of time before you did as well. Marriage is a two-way street, and if you wanted to make this easier on both yourself and Taehyung, you would compromise with him, accept the true sense of partnership that entailed your status as husband and wife.
Thus was the exact mantra that played in your head as you fiddled with the card, remembering the way his big hands held you.
Warm.
Tumblr media
It was night.
You could say it was like any other ordinary night, though that would be a gargantuan lie.
This night was the first time Taehyung and yourself were going to sleep in the same bed.
In your own home.
The hotel suite left you both with your own space and privacy since it was a random, public room with no personality or attachment to it whatsoever, making it easier and comfortable to sleep with him.
So when you emerged from your walk-in closet in a thin camisole, loose pajama shorts and without a bra, you were cursing yourself. God damn you for needing to sleep in minimal clothing for comfort. You’d slept in a loose t-shirt and bottoms at the suite last night since it was a public room, and long story short, it left you tossing and turning more than you liked.
You had no clue prior to arriving here that you’d be sharing a room with Taehyung. You’d expected to sleep in a different one, in the privacy of your own room where you could prance around as you wished and as a result packed your usual sleepwear.
But now that you were left having to slumber with Taehyung, clothes on the more revealing side, there was no turning back.
And what there was truly no turning back from, was when you opened the closet door and your eyes landed on Taehyung’s shirtless, wet self drying his hair after a shower.
You immediately malfunctioned.
Your eyes fell to his bare back, ruffling his wet hair as his plaid pajama pants hung loosely at his hips. You immediately exclaimed and clamped a hand over your mouth, trying to shut yourself up.
You did not expect at all for Taehyung to have such honey-coloured skin. It was like it naturally glowed, a healthy tone that made him appear all the more delectable. It certainly didn’t help that his shoulders were broader than you first observed, sincerely an other-worldly experience when he wasn’t wearing clothes.
You also got an all-access view of his trap muscles, adding to the width of his shoulders overall and when Taehyung turned around to the sound of the closet door opening, gaze locking with yours, you could confirm his neck, chest and collarbones were indeed crafted to perfection.
Taehyung’s eyes widened momentarily drinking you in, not expecting your light sleepwear when just last night he witnessed you in a full pajama set. Not to mention, and he hated that he could tell, but you weren't wearing a bra.
And the camisole did nothing to hide that.
Taehyung straightened himself up realizing you two were practically gawking at each other, resting the towel around his neck as he cleared his throat. “That’s what you sleep in?”
“That’s what you sleep in?” You retorted, arms over your chest.
“Guys usually sleep shirtless, this is normal.” Taehyung gestured towards his own body and you had half a mind to floor yourself. It’s like Taehyung knew but also didn’t know he was hot, knew the effect he had on people though never grew cocky or proud enough to purposefully parade it around.
And it frustrated you even more; he was fairly humble about being a sexy Greek God.
“Girls sleep like this too, this is normal.” You copied him, looking off to the side.
“I was kidding, I only sleep shirtless sometimes. Just get in bed.” Taehyung narrowed his eyes as he gestured towards the sheets, returning to his palace of a bathroom to toss his towel in the hamper and pull a t-shirt over his head.
You wanted to move, feet just about ready to carry you but you never abandoned your spot. Instead, you pressed your lips into a thin line contemplating that sharing a bed with Taehyung, in clothes like this and in such proximity, all held a degree of intimacy you didn’t know you two shared yet.
It’s only been a day.
So when Taehyung returned to your unmoving figure, arms holding your chest and avoiding eye contact with him, he was quick to get the message.
“Um.. if you really don’t want to sleep here, I can give you another room.” Taehyung offered, figuring himself this may be too soon.
“No, it’s okay, that’d be kind of a hassle.” You waved him off. “Besides, your bed looks comfy.”
You were honestly trying to live up to your acceptance that Taehyung was the man you’d spend your life with now, so you’d better start getting use to him. You’d sleep next to him for numerous nights, spend endless days together and share a multitude of things; this would simply just be a first of many first times.
So you paddled over to the bed and removed the covers to snuggle yourself in, the bed’s coolness sending a shiver through you before you hugged the blanket to yourself. Taehyung stood with a smile before crawling in himself, adjusting the covers to his liking.
He felt at peace in a matter of seconds, the feeling of his own bed lulling him into a state of slumber already. He reached his arm out to shut off the lamp on his bedside table, leaving the room pitch dark and only his digital clock and balcony as a light source.
You began to cower a bit in the darkness, thankful for the sheer curtains that allowed the moonlight to spill into the room.
You felt another shiver run through your body when you shifted, realizing you were cold even under the sheets. You tried warming up on your own by shimmying the blanket around more comfortably, but it didn't do much.
You were left lying on the bed trying to think warm thoughts, unintentionally breathing in the constant scent of Taehyung from his bed; his cologne, his aftershave, his body wash all filling your nostrils.
It was intoxicating, absolutely distracting and sleep began to slip your mind. It didn’t help that you were still cold too, moving around and turning onto your side where you now faced Taehyung.
He seemed to have already dozed off, face tranquil as he slept soundlessly on his back. You couldn't help but admire his side-profile, the sparse moonlight illuminating his features. It was hard to not stretch your hand out and nearly run a touch along his cheek, like he was a rare work of art that naturally called for admiration.
You realized turning towards him that he radiated a wave of warmth from his body, remembering boys were pretty much furnaces while girls usually froze.
How wonderful it is to be a woman.
You desired some of that heat and shuffled just a little closer to Taehyung, nearing the center of the bed. You discerned he was indeed warm and maneuvered slightly closer, just about stopping at the center of the bed. You fought back the urge to shimmy any closer, leaving a mindful gap between you two.
You were seconds from catching a peace of mind until Taehyung unexpectedly spoke in the silence of the night, startling you.
“You can come closer, I don’t bite.” The smirk in his voice was obvious, making you scrunch your nose and snap back at him.
“Shut up, I’m not getting closer to you.”
“You should, I’m really warm, and I can tell you’re cold.” There he was again teasing, his tone coy as he kept his eyes shut, unbothered.
“Over my dead body.” You mocked him from earlier, turning away from him abruptly and pulling the covers over your head.
Tumblr media
Coffee was probably your favourite thing life had to offer. One of the couple things you’d fight someone over; coffee and your independence, if you wanted to be specific.
So it made you genuinely happy Taehyung had such a wide selection of coffee to choose from, ranging from all kinds of beans to instant coffee, cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, you name it. It took no time for you to craft a cup to your liking, shuffle into a seat on the island and begin picking at the breakfast the housekeepers had whipped up earlier this morning.
You’d woken up early today keeping in mind the day you had planned. You decided this to be another move-in day as part of your studio setup project you’ve entertained for the last week. The granted time off due to your odd honeymoon farce with Taehyung proved to actually come in handy, thankfully.
It had been another peaceful morning for you, having woken up with sunlight gracing the walls, certain you could hear birds chirping as if you were in a Disney film and little mice would come out to start sewing the gown you’d wear as a princess.
It had been a peaceful morning indeed, but when you stretched out to loosen your stiff muscles, the chaos that met you was anything but peaceful. Even if it’s occurred at least 5 times now, you kept forgetting that you shared a bed with someone else now, and that said someone had somehow always founds a way to gravitate towards you during the night, even daringly cast an arm over you sometimes.
It left you in a state of panic registering that Taehyung’s, dare you say warm and cozy body would be just behind you, his chest mere centimeters from your back. You would stay still for some time, calculating the optimal way to remove yourself from his hold until he eventually stirred enough to loosen his grip, darting right out of bed.
Other times, he’d wake earlier than you and you wondered what would cross his mind once he registered your oddly proximal bodies.
Did it ever bother him?
Nonetheless, it brought a mischievous smile to your face thinking about the fact that Taehyung had such a perfectly human habit like cuddling. He was always so serious, so put together and a near machine at everything he did, seeming as though he wouldn’t give anything romantic the time of day.
But it was hard to forget the fluffy feeling that blossomed in your chest when you would sense his proximity, maybe inviting a liking to it. You had always slept alone, only yourself and the darkness to keep you company in your lonely bed, in your lonely home.
So sleeping next to someone, namely Kim Taehyung left an impression on you you couldn’t quite shake. It was difficult to erase the image of his calm, sleeping face after the handful of times witnessing it. Long eyelashes delicately pressed to the skin under his eyes, lips plush as he seemed to naturally pout in his sleep. The sunlight only accentuated his honey-coloured skin, adding a glow to his features that made him appear prettier than he already was.
It was nice to think you’d wake up to that every morning.
You found your mind still playing around with the idea until you snapped yourself out of it, questioning why the hell you always ventured off whenever you thought about him.
Weird.
You were scolding yourself until your eyes caught Taehyung strolling into the kitchen with his phone in is hand. He’d foregone a jacket today, black shirt sleeves folded to mid-forearm paired with black slacks.
You were normal until you almost spat your coffee seeing he wasn’t wearing a tie but instead had the first few buttons of his shirt open, revealing a generous view of his neck and the beginnings of his chest.
Fucking hell.
You were staring stupidly until Taehyung peeked up at you, smiling “Morning.”
“M-morning.” you stuttered.
He seemed unsuspecting as he returned his attention to his phone, proceeding to the kitchen counter and retrieving a cup to fix himself a drink. He appeared to be reading something conscientiously on his device, never taking his eyes off and you quickly became bored, ready to use the weapon you’d acquired.
“So.. you’re a cuddler, huh?”
Taehyung nearly dropped his cup.
“I’m sorry, what?”
“You’re a cuddler when you sleep. Cute.” You rested your chin in your palm, playful smile on your face.
“I think you’re mistaken, I am not a cuddler. And I’m not cute.” Taehyung denied as he only focused on the cup, his back to you. You then watched him reach for his selection of tea and purposefully evade the coffee, your eyes lighting up with mischief.
“Wait, you’re a cuddler and you drink tea instead of coffee? Very cute.” You pulled on his leg, chuckling as you brought your mug to your lips
This was going to be fun.
“Shut up, I don’t like the taste and tea is healthier.” Taehyung practically sneered back, harshly ripping the packet of his tea bag.
“Doesn’t take away from the fact that you’re a cuddler.” You sipped on your coffee, unbothered as you swung your legs back and fourth.
“Doesn’t take away from the fact that you like it.”
You nearly spat your drink.
“What?”
“I remember a certain someone that shuffles closer to me for warmth, no?” Taehyung snapped back as he returned to his phone and popped his tea into the microwave, his shoulders high to the sky. You could imagine his smug face proud of his remark while searching for your own, realizing that Taehyung was damn good at arguing and you’d really have to upgrade your comeback game to counter him.
He was unfortunately your match.
“Even if I were one, which I’m not, It’s not like I’m committing a crime.” Taehyung suddenly finalized with a snippy tone, and you realized you may have hurt his ego.
Men.
“I never said it was a bad thing.” You commented under your breath and looked away, popping a raspberry into your mouth.
Taehyung bit back a smirk as he retrieved his cup of tea, taking a sip as he returned to his phone and took a seat across from you. He began compiling his plate of breakfast as he worked his device, typing away with one hand as if he was drafting the Magna Carta.
You became bored again.
“Why do you have so much coffee if you don’t like it?” You genuinely felt like inquiring, if he didn’t like the taste why would he have so much?
“For my housekeepers, they drink it.” He took a sip of his tea, all attention on his phone.
You nodded understandingly. “Why do you have two housekeepers, by the way? Isn’t one enough?”
“So they can keep each other company.” He answered absentmindedly, eyes still glued to his phone as he bit a piece of his toast. You really hated that he wasn’t actively interacting with you because it only left room to stare at him, and that was never any good.
He looked illegally attractive with the unbuttoned part of his shirt, your mind profusely bugging out over the exposed bit of his chest. You were reminded of the full view from last night, and began pondering how long you’d survive having to see that for the rest of your life.
“O-oh, that’s nice.” You stuttered back a reply, squashing your previous thought.
You were actually quite impressed by the kindness Taehyung showed behind that decision, noticing he had these small moments where he was caring, considerate, all hidden behind his unreadable face and seriousness when it came to business.
It was quite interesting.
You were mindlessly eating until Taehyung spoke up, eyes flickering towards you. “What are you going to do today?”
You swallowed your fruit. “I was planning on moving more stuff in again, start finishing my studio setup. Thank you again for the room, by the way.” You expressed your gratitude once more, forking some eggs into your mouth.
“Don’t mention it.”
“What are you doing today?” you echoed his question, taking another swig of coffee.
“I’m working again. If you need anything I’ll be in my study.” Taehyung sent you a half-smile before snatching up his plate, bringing his phone to his ear as he stepped out of the kitchen.
You sighed heavily only being left to think about your day, which would be majorly spent unpacking and arranging things. You had a plethora of art supplies, design tools and canvases to set up in your studio, leaving you constantly thinking of how to even begin.
It would be a mission alone to sort through everything you had left, knowing you didn’t exactly label out of sheer laziness and would have to individually unbox and organize everything .
It was this exact task that took up most of your day, time having slipped by in the blink of an eye. It wasn’t easy when you had to be rummaging through your belongings and situating them where you thought appropriate, also trying to envision a new look for your studio.
You hadn’t realized 3 hours had passed until the ring of the front doorbell caused you to check your phone, curious as to who would be visiting your home in the middle of the day. You assumed it be one of the housekeepers and abandoned your work, cascading down the staircase and striding towards the grand entrance.
You drew towards the monitor Taehyung had showed you just yesterday, explaining it to be your home security system. Taehyung detailed it had a camera for your front porch that detected movement and the doorbell alike, so you peered at the monitor to see the stranger outside your home.
Your eyebrows furrowed registering a woman, her back turned towards the door as she fidgeted nervously with her purse in her hand.
Sheer curiosity took you over and you paddled towards the door, unlocking it. You wore a smile on your face as you swung the door open, though it was immediately wiped off taking in the last person on earth you ever wanted to see.
“Mother?”

Tumblr media
Your heart stings from across the courtyard, the gap between you and the blonde boy tangible. For a second you don't know whether or not your heart is even in your chest anymore or if it’s in his hands. In that case your heart is sitting on a bench, sandwiched between Blaise Zabini and Vincent Crabbe. Maybe he isn’t holding your heart, though, maybe he is your heart, in which case you’re avoiding your heart’s piercing gaze.
Your hands twitch at your sides, itching to grab his or to twist through his silky hair or do anything other than lay idle when he is only mere steps away from you. Your hands ache to touch him and usually you would be doing just that: clinging to his robes or twisting the rings around on his fingers or simply tangling your own fingers with his slender ones. Your hands feel painfully empty without him to hold on to.
That makes sense though, he’s your best friend after all. You’re rarely ever spotted less than five feet away from each other. Everyone at Hogwarts can see how utterly entwined you are, every part of him wrapped around your finger and every part of you sitting precisely in the palm of his hand. You orbit each other, drawn in by a gravity that the rest of the student body can’t deny.
Right now, though, that gravity is being tested and everyone feels a little bit like they’re floating away.
Draco sits exactly seventeen feet and four inches away from you. You can feel his eyes on the back of your head, like lasers, searing into your black and gold jumper and refusing to look away. It burns but you embrace it, taking any contact, even imagined, that you can get from him. Even if it hurts. You would gladly burn for the blonde Slytherin if it made him happy. This doesn’t make him happy, though, being ignored by the girl that commands his entire life. You know that, but you also know that it’s for the best.
You run your hands through your hair, tugging on the strands relentlessly and closing your eyes. You see his father, the tall, grim man, and replay the conversation you had in your head.
“He has a bright future ahead of him, y/n.”
Lucious had backed you into a corner, both metaphorically and literally, the stone of the castle biting harshly into your skin, “I know that, sir.”
He stood tall, menacingly, like he was bigger than the castle itself, “he doesn’t have time for nonsense, y/n.”
Your hands trembled, the cold of the dungeon nipping at them fiercely, “he’s very bright, Mr. Malfoy, I don’t think I’m slowing him down.”
The neutral, if not cold, expression on his face switched then to one of red hot anger, “did I ask what you think? It’s time the two of you separate. He is to be married next year and not to some silly Hufflepuff girl.”
“We’re just friends, sir,” your eyes had long since found the floor.
“Don’t be daft, my son is infatuated with you. If I catch you near him from this day on I will not hesitate to destroy you, do you understand me? Do not speak to him again.”
That was two weeks ago and you haven’t dared to go near him since, spending every waking moment of your spare time in the Hufflepuff common room. You aren’t brave, you didn’t march up to your best friend and tell him that his father threatened to destroy you. You would be lying if you said you even thought about it. The reality of it is that you’re a coward and have iced Draco out in fear of having his father hurt either of you.
His father’s words still ring in your head. Don’t be daft, my son is infatuated with you. Your heart flutters hard in your chest, your rib cage the only barrier keeping it from finding him across the courtyard. Draco is infatuated with you. Apparently. He hasn’t said so, only his father. Still, you can’t help but hope that it’s true.
But then that makes your chest burn and palms sting again. You aren’t allowed to hope that Draco wants you. You aren’t even allowed to hope that he wants to be your friend. You’re not allowed anywhere near him, let alone allowed to kiss him. Would he even kiss you? Probably not. You tug even harder on your hair, as if pulling each strand out will somehow take the pain away. Don’t be daft.
“Y/n,” gentle hands wrap around your tight fists, “you’re hurting yourself.”
You forgot Luna was there, sitting next to you on the bench, the bench that is seventeen feet and four inches away from Draco. You let the airy Ravenclaw unravel your fingers and hold one of your hands, rubbing circles on the back of your palm. It doesn’t feel the same, her grip is too soft, her fingers too short. Draco’s fingers are longer.
You shake your head, trying to clear the fog of him from your senses, “sorry, I know I’m not the best company right now.”
Luna only smiles at you and rolls her eyes gently, “I know it’s hard for you right now.”
Of course you told her. You weren’t able to tell Draco so you turned to Luna, your other best friend. You nod your head at the blonde girl, too tired to speak.
“I think you should tell him though, he looks bloody miserable without you,” your eyes widen as if on their own accord.
You feel dizzy at the thought and not the good kind like when Draco spins you around. No, this is the bad kind of ‘I’m definitely going to throw up’ dizzy. Your heartbeat pounds in your ears rapidly. Thump, thump, thump. It almost sounds like footsteps, angry ones, pounding towards you. That can’t be right.
“I can’t tell him, Luna, you know that.”
A hand lands on your shoulder, warmth spreading through your jumper. You open your mouth, ready to thank Luna for relentlessly comforting you, but close it quickly when a thought hits you. You glance down to your lap, just to double check. There, on your lap rests your hand carefully wrapped up in both of Luna’s. Crap.
“What can’t you tell me?” It takes everything in you to not let his familiar voice curl around you and pull you further into his touch.
You shift out of his hold, not turning to look at him yet, afraid to see the expression on his face. Would it be anger? Sadness? Disgust? The last one makes your heart drop, the thought of the blonde boy being repulsed by you causing you to curl into yourself slightly. You would take anything from him but that.
You stand curtly, turning to face Draco, all too aware of the lack of space between you and him. Six inches at the most, every breath he takes makes his chest brush yours. You still don’t look up at him, not anywhere ready to meet the eyes of the boy you’ve been avoiding.
You lock your eyes on his silver and green tie, mumbling to it instead of him, “What makes you think I was talking about you, Draco?”
You finally glance up at him and wish you hadn’t. His eyes, usually a bright blue, are dull and rimmed with red. The bruises under his eyes stand out against his cheeks. He’s always had dark circles but this is extreme. He looks like he hasn’t slept in days, like he hasn’t eaten in days. It’s almost garish, but then again nothing could ever make the Slytherin Prince look anything less than perfect. He looks destroyed, almost as if his father had gotten to him too. You have to stop yourself from reaching out, choosing instead to look away again.
“Are you serious right now? Tell me this is all a joke y/n!” The courtyard goes silent when Draco raises his voice.
You squeeze your fists, the tone of his voice a punch in the gut. He never shouts at you. Draco is never anything but soft around you. Right now, however, he’s seething. No one around you dares to make a sound.
You close your eyes, trying desperately to stop a traitorous flood of tears, “Draco, please don’t do this right now.”
Draco takes a step back, as if your words had shoved him, “if not now then when? You’ve given me no choice! You run every time you see me, you don’t answer my notes. Do you even read them anymore? Can you just explain why you bloody hate me?”
His voice cracks when he says hate, like its acid in his mouth. In any way it’s acid to your ears. You could never hate Draco, it’s very much the opposite actually. You’re painfully in love with him.
“I don’t,” you have to pause to clear your throat, trying to rid the lump, “I could never hate you.”
His hand grasps you chin gently, his rings cold against your skin as he pulls your face up to meet his eyes, “then tell me what’s going on. Please.”
You squeeze your eyes close, sinking into the warmth of his palm for a moment. You can’t remember a time you’ve gone this long without the blonde boy touching you. You can’t stop the tears from trailing down your cheeks and into his palm. You can feel the hitch in his breath as if it had come from your own lungs. You wrap your own hands around his, squeezing his fingers gently before pulling them away from you.
“I can’t, Dra. We can’t do this anymore. I’m,” your voice trembles, your eyes still closed, his hand still locked in yours, “I’m not good for you. We can’t be friends.”
You release his hand, taking a few steps back from the love of your life. This time, though, he doesn’t let you get as far, taking two steps towards you for every step you take away from him. It doesn’t take him long before he’s in front of you again, closer and even more determined. His eyes burn into yours, his hands restless. You know he wants to touch you. At least, you hope he does. You want to.
“Don’t say that,” there’s a strength behind his words, one you have yet to hear until now, “don’t you dare say that! Tell me what’s going on y/n, you need to tell me! I can fix it. I can make it better whatever it is just please tell me. Please, love.”
Love. That’s new. Your heart cracks even more when he says it and maybe that’s because you know you won’t get to hear it again. You wish you could grab the word from his lips and hold on to it. You want to put it in your pocket so at least you can have a part of him, the very best part of him, for when he walked away. But you can’t, so there’s no use in trying.
“You can’t fix it this time, Draco,” you take another step back and your back hits the rough surface of a tree.
He fills the space between the two of you once more and this time you’re stuck. Your palms continue to sting, reminding you relentlessly how much you need to touch him. You scrunch the hem of your jumper, trying desperately to quell the pain. Your wrists feel like they’re on fire, something you’ve come to realise that means you’re about to have a panic attack. He can't see that happen, you refuse to fall apart in front of him.
Of course he notices, though. That’s your Draco, he notices everything about you. That’s his job.
He grabs your face again, stopping you from frantically looking everywhere but him, “of course I can. When have I not fixed your problems? Remember when those Ravenclaws’ were messing with you? I took care of that, didn’t I? And Parkinson? Zabini? I took care of them too. Remember when Snape wouldn’t let you hand in your assignment because you had the flu? And the time you passed out in the stairwell? I fixed those too because I can. Because I wanted to and I do what I want. Now, all I’ve wanted for days is you so if someone said something to you I need you to tell me so I can sort them out and get my best friend back. Now.”
He stares into your eyes the entire time, daring you to turn away. You feel like you can’t breathe, your hands once again wrapped around his but this time clinging for dear life. You’ve been terrified for two weeks and the exhaustion hits you in one, whopping punch to your stomach, the second punch of the day. Without warning your legs give out, all of your weight falling into the blonde who seems to expect it. His arms wrap around you, holding you against his chest for the first time in what feels like ages.
You don’t realise that you’re sobbing until you try to speak, “Dra, I’m so scared. I’m tired,” you grip his robes in your fists, your head falling against his chest, “I don’t know how much longer I can do this, I feel like I’m falling apart.”
He pulls you closer to him, wrapping his arms around you and holding you against him. You can feel the sigh of relief he releases and his heartbeat slowing as if it’s your own. Maybe that’s because yours does the same. For the first time in weeks you’re engulfed in Draco and you cling to him, circling your arms around his waist and pulling yourself impossibly close. He wastes no time either, wrapping his cloak around you and burying his face in your neck.
Your body shakes furiously in his arms, everything you’ve been bottling up comes pouring out in a torrent of sobs and hiccups. Draco presses closer to you, towering over you and shielding you from the rest of the world. You let his peppermint scent engulf you completely,
“For Salazar’s sake y/n I need you to tell me what’s wrong. I need to fix it, love. Please tell me,” his voice is low and choked.
He’s right, you know he’s right. You squeeze your eyes tighter and grip his back, savouring the muscles under his dress shirt for a few more seconds before you know you’ll have to let go.
“Your father told me we couldn’t see each other anymore. He told me,” you pull out of his arms, leaning back against the tree, “he said, well, it doesn’t matter what he said. We just can’t be together.” Draco’s eyes widen and your cheeks heat up, your words ringing through your ears, “I mean we can’t be friends.”
Draco steps closer to you, running a hand through his hair and closing his eyes. He mumbles something under his breath that you can’t hear but you’re almost positive that it’s a curse. When he opens his eyes, your heart stops. His blue eyes burn into yours, glassy and angry but with something else too, something hot and fierce. Your heart restarts when he places his arms against the tree, caging you between it and him. You can’t resist placing your hands on his chest, feeling his heartbeat pick up as well.
“What did my father say, y/n.” He isn’t asking you, he’s telling you.
You lower your eyes, not bothering to fight him anymore, “he told me he would destroy me if I kept being friends with you. He said you were getting married and that you could never marry a Hufflepuff and that he would destroy me if he had to.”
He staggers back with each word, like each one shoves him more than the last. He squeezes his fists before straightening his fingers, shoving them once more through his hair. His shoulders are tense, his back straight. His eyes are screwed shut again.
“Bloody hell,” he pulls at his hair, biting his lip, “he’s lost his damn mind.”
You wrap your arms around yourself, tugging at your jumper, suddenly hot all over. Now is not the time to be getting riled up over Draco but you can’t help it, he looks exquisite. Messy hair and an un-tucked shirt, the veins in his hand prominent and his rings glittering in the afternoon sun. He’s absolutely and undeniably perfect.
“It’s ok, Dra, you’ll be ok,” you try your best to comfort him but he snaps his eyes open, looking at you like you’ve gone mad as well.
“My dad threatened to kill you! No I am not okay!”
This time you walk to him, pulling him into your chest again and wrapping your arms around his neck. He sweeps his arms around your waist, pulling you so close that you have to stand on your tiptoes to keep your arms around him. His hands grasp your hips tight and you immediately know what he wants. You oblige, wanting it just as much if not more, jumping up and wrapping your legs around his stomach. You tuck your face into his neck this time, breathing in the slightest hint of apples, green ones.
You don’t speak, practically feeling the words bubbling in his chest, “My dad told you he was going to kill you, love. He threatened you and he didn’t even tell me. I am definitely not okay. I need to do something. I need to talk to him. And he told you I was getting married? He’s lucky he isn’t here. I don’t care if he’s my father, nobody talks to my girl like that.”
He’s rambling, something he does when he’s at his end. His words wrap around you, tangling with every part of you and sinking into your skin. They lull you into a daze of sorts, almost nodding off on your best friends shoulder. You don’t realise how tired you are until you’re in his arms, safe. And then it hits you, and you’re wide awake again.
“Your girl?”
You cut him off mid sentence, squeezing your legs tighter around him to bring his attention back to you.
“What did you say, love?” Draco hikes you further up his body, readjusting his grip on you.
Your cheeks flame, your neck hot. His eyes bore into yours, searching for something that you’re not quite sure you’re ready to give. His lips are so close to yours, his breath hitting your lips with every exhale. The courtyard around you fades away and Hogwarts itself holds its breath.
“Did you call me your girl, Draco?”
He doesn’t blush like you thought he would, “yes, I did. That’s what you are. Mine. And Merlin help my father for trying to take you away from me.”
You stare at him for a few seconds, letting his words sink into your flesh. They curl around your bones, laying down a warmth that you’ve been craving for longer than you can remember. He’s right. Of course he’s right, he’s Draco. You are his and you always have been. His arm around your back tightens, jostling you enough to make you cling harder to him. Your fingers find their way to the nape of his neck, tangling in his hair. He leans his head back, giving in to your touch willingly.
He holds your gaze as your fingers weave through his silky hair, capturing you with his eyes and refusing to let go, “I’m yours, Draco. Please don’t let me go.”
He leans his forehead against yours, “never, love.”
Hogwarts releases the breath it had been holding, the noise of the courtyard once more fluttering around you. You go to get down from Draco but he stops you, tightening his arms. You only shake your head and smile, letting the sunshine warm your face.
Your heart aches slightly still though, “what are we going to do about your father, Dra?
He starts walking, the sudden movement causing you to tug his hair a little harder.
His voice is strained when he finally answers, leaning down to rub his cheek against your head, “just let me handle that, ok?”
You give in, for now, laying your head on his shoulder and closing your eyes for the final time, “where are we going, Dra?”
“We, my love, are going to take a very much needed nap.”

comforting you during a thunderstorm ⛈
summary: you’re not much of a scaredy-cat but you do have an immense fear of thunder storms which you didn’t tell him about. so this is how he comforts you
characters: saiki k, bokuto, suna
tw// thunderstorms, hurt/comfort
Tumblr media
thanks to anon for the wholesome request 🥺 this reminds me of ohshc & i love it so much 💞
Tumblr media
Kusuo Saiki
he just popped downstairs to bid farewell to his mother before she headed out to buy groceries, leaving you and him home alone
he didn’t even notice the thunderstorm, until his mom mentioned it
‘oh, i have to walk to the bus-stop in this horrible weather. is there anyway you could make it stop, ku?’
as much as he wanted to say ‘yes, but i cba. cope.’  he just blurted out a ‘no.’ before heading back up to his room
he didn’t think you were scared of anything tbh
i mean you killed a cockroach for him one time so you were basically a fearless god, in his eyes
so imagine his surprise when he walked into his room and..you were gone
he was confused for a moment until he heard faint sobs and whimpers from inside his closet
he slid the door open to reveal you cowering in the corner with your knees pulled up to your chest and your face buried between them, sniffing and only moving when you had to use your hand to wipe away the tears that poured from your eyes and threatened to stain your leggings
‘i go for a minute and this is what happens-- are you crying?’
that was when you realised that saiki had entered the room once again and when you looked up, you saw his tall, daunting figure looking down at you - the glow from the lightening behind him not doing any favours as it just made him look even more unnerving
‘i don’t cry. i’m just.. excreting my eye juices. it clears your skin-- ah!’ you tried to explain but you were cut of by another boom of thunder rattle through the house
‘you’re lying.’
yeah, you knew he was a psychic so you weren’t really sure why you thought you’d be able to get the lie passed him
also, due to his psychic abilities and common sense, he figured that the thunder/lightening was the reason for your distress
saiki sighed, not really sure if he should do what he was about to but upon seeing how frightened you were and the nervous series of continuous thoughts rushing through your head...he just had to
you heard another noise which sounded rather different from thunder but it startled you none the less
you looked up at your boyfriend for comfort, only to notice that he was gone
then, you caught a glimpse of something unusual from the window
you approached it hesitantly and peered outside to see the cluster of storm clouds being swept aside like dust by some unknown force, to reveal the bright blue sky that was hiding behind it
you were in awe and although the masses probably thought this was the work of god or the wind, it didn’t take long for you to figure out that it was your psychic boyfriend who was behind it all
‘it’s gone now.’ his voice tickled your ears from behind and to say it gave you the fright of your life was an understatement
you jumped, alarmed at first but once you turned around for your eyes to meet his, you couldn’t help but feel a wave of relief wash over you
‘oh, yes. thank you, saiki!’  you chirped, throwing your arms around him and pulling him into a tight embrace
he was a bit taken back at first but it didn’t take long for him to melt into your touch and hug back, cradling your head and patting it bc i hc that is how he hugs/cuddles
(he just wants you to feel safe with him 🥺 even though he is an OP psychic who could probably kill you if he’s not careful)
anyway, saiki will ensure that you never experience another thunderstorm for as long as you live
Tumblr media
Kōtarō Bokuto
you already know that the first thing bokuto is going to do when he sees you cry and cuddle up next to you and cry too so you don’t feel embarrassed
but like when he comes back from the kitchen and heating the pizza he was about to eat, then he noticed you curled up under a blanket on the couch, shivering and whimpering..he drops the pizza
like he is so shocked
he didn’t want to believe that you were crying tbh
but as your bf it was his duty to comfort you
bc you always comfort him so well when he feels down and he wants to do the same for you!!
anyway, the first thing he does is join you under the blanket and cry with you for a bit
but his fake wails are so bad that you can’t help but laugh FVHIDBFA
once he notices that he’d cheered you up slightly, he’ll inquire, ‘are you scared of thunder?’
you nodded slightly, gently leaning your head on his strong shoulder, ‘a bit.’
bokuto bent his arm to pat and rub your head reassuringly, ‘but you’re so fearless, (y/n)! remember that time you went bungee jumping and even I was too afraid to do it?!’
you simply shrugged, tensing as you heard the thunder rumble through the living room
‘but anyway,’ bokuto hummed, placing a gentle kiss on your temple, ‘is there anything i can do to make you feel better?’
you shrugged once again, ‘maybe just stay with me for a bit longer, please.’
your wish was his command ✨
now there is no way he’s leaving your side until the storm passes
whether that takes a few minutes or the whole night
he’s not going to leave you even to eat the pizza he had dropped on the living room floor
and he hold you close against his chest so you know that he’s not going going anywhere
also, he started talking not only instinctively but also to drown out the sound of the thunder and redirect your attention onto him
‘and then kuroo was all like SUPRISE!! and i was all like THANKS, MAN BUT IT’S NOT EVEN MY BIRTHDAY and then kuroo was like I KNOW!! god, he knows me so well.’
‘hey, (y/n) - we should dress up for halloween his year! kuroo and his girlfriend are doing a couples costume so i think we should do one too and out-shine them! i was thinkin’ fred and daphne except you can be fred.’
‘i was looking on five minute crafts of food the other day - don’t ask why - and some of the desserts were lookin’ kinda tasty tbh. i’ll send you the link so we can make ‘em sometime.’
‘why did you comment ‘i’ll give you my first born child in exchange for you to crush my skull with your thicc, juicy, scrumptious thighs 🤤😳’ under my instagram pic? and why does it have 1k likes?’
needless to say, you can’t be sad for too when you’re around bokuto lmao
Tumblr media
Rintarō Suna
RAIEVABTG DON’T EVEN LIE HE’D JUST BE LIKE ‘cover your ears den lmao’
ok ok so you’re on facetime with him and thunder blares through your room - it’s so loud that even he can hear it through the phone - and you jump, immediately pulling your blankets over yourself
he was hitting his vape then he pulled away to look at his phone again and you were gone (bc you had brought your phone under the covers with you and obvs it was dark)
he could also hear your little whimpers even though you tried you best to hide them by slapping your hand over your mouth
‘doll, where’d ya go?’ he inquired, concern laced in his voice. he opened his drawer to toss his vape away but he did not avert his eyes from the screen just in case something happened
‘i’m still here. just under the covers.’ you spoke, doing your best to hide how shaky your voice was
‘why?’ he puffed, allowing the vapor to leak from his mouth and escape out to his surrounding - which was his bedroom
‘oh, no reason.’
suna knew you were lying, it wasn’t hard to tell, ‘well, if that’s the case, can you come out from the cover, doll? i wanna see your face.’
‘-no.’ you immediately replied, letting out a feeble sigh as you realised that lying wasn’t going to get you anywhere. ‘i’m just a bit afraid of the thunder, that’s all.’
suna cocked his head to the side, ‘thunder? never heard that one before.’ he said, mentally cursing himself out just as he said that since it came out a lot harsher than he intended, ‘erm, why don’t you try putting your headphones on?’ he suggested in a soft voice, trying to make up for the uncalled-for comment he made
you hummed in agreement, wondering why you didn’t think of that
momentarily tossing your duvet aside, you rushed to your desk where you black headphones were laying, you picked them up and dashed back towards your bed as if someone was chasing you, diving onto it, pulling the cover back over your head and plugging the headphones into your phone before pulling them over your ears
‘this helps a bit. thanks, suna.’
suna’s eyes widened as he slumped back against his headboard, ‘suna? what happened to babe?’
‘thanks, babe.’ you corrected yourself with a giggle
now that suna’s voice was the most prominent sound in your ears, the thunder seemed to fade into satisfying background noise
you couldn’t get over the random flashes of lightening though, those always made you yelp - and he noticed this
‘i really wish you were here right now.’ you mused, hugging your pillow to your chest to imitate what you’d to if he was here with you, ‘i’d give you all my kisses.’
‘bet.’ was the last thing you heard before he hung up on you
you were quite bummed at first but then you registered that he was probably on his way over :))
and he was!
you heard a few loud knocks on your door followed by a monotone mutter ‘let me in, i’m freezing my tits off out here.’
ofc you let him in and after you led him to your bedroom, he immediately pinned you to your bed, ‘you know what i’m here for.’
‘huh?’
he was confused for a moment but then he noticed that you still had the headphones on
he snickered, momentarily pulling one of the earpads away from your ear to say, ‘kisses.’

There are many versions of yourself, all talking over one another in an attempt to control your mind for once. Sometimes it's hard to decipher if your actions are the result of someone in your head tugging you in a different direction. There is the person you believe yourself to be––what you imagine you come off to people as. There is also the person you truly are, and what people actually perceive you to be. So despite there being several voices, they are all reiterations of yourself in some way.
Except for one.
One of them speaks in a voice that is not your own, in a voice you've never heard anywhere but echoing in your skull. Since you despised asking questions as a child, it took you until you were twelve to realize that no, you weren't insane. It was someone who would love you, who had the potential to grow close to you simply by the strings of fate. Your soulmate.
Someone who gave you nightmares for years.
'Get me out of here!' He would scream, sending your heart pounding while you tried to sleep as a child. 'Please, please, I need to see the stars,' he sobbed, 'I did nothing to deserve this!'
Once you grew old enough to deal with the screaming beyond what you thought was a schizophrenia disorder, nighttime brought a deep sadness to you. For some reason, your soulmate would never think during the day––which was incredibly odd––and during the night, the only time he was awake, he would scream and beg and cry until you could feel the hoarseness in your own throat. For your entire childhood, you stared up at your ceiling at night, eyes burning as you tried to calm the screaming.
It was all you could think about, as though the screams had muted your connection to him and strengthened his connection to you. Every now and then you would try to think, try to calm him down, but he never quite heard.
Then, one evening in winter, it stopped.
You were lying in bed, rolled onto your side as you once again listened to the man's yelling thoughts. But then he stopped, and both your hearts skipped a beat, followed by an incredibly clear thought: Thank the Gods, blessed Ra and Khonsu.
That evening you darted out of bed, jumping to your desk where you typed in with slamming, lightning-fast fingers, "khonsu." Ra you already knew––everyone knew Ra, and by connection Khonsu would probably also be a God. The only question you were left with was why you were hearing the thoughts of someone who worshipped Egyptian gods two thousand years after that civilization died.
As you continued your research, his thoughts continued.
They took my tablet?
Who are these people?
This man has no idea what he's doing, does he?
Why is he screaming at the Hun?
He's got my tablet.
About halfway into the night you gave up on your research, instead listening intently to the thoughts. With you entirely absorbed in your soulmates thoughts, you had little room to send your own words to him, which unbeknownst to you, would've reached him if you tried.
You weren't quite sure what to think of him for the following couple weeks. At first your assumption was that he was the insane one projecting his insane thoughts to you, but his quieter thoughts led you to believe there was something different in him. It is true what they say––geniuses are often tortured minds, and though you wouldn't classify your soulmate as a genius, he was clearly a knowledgeable philosopher of sorts.
He thought often of the human condition––the rise and fall of civilizations, the cruelty and the mercy of men that began the stories of bloodstained battlefields. Most of the time you just listened. Now that he wasn't screaming, his voice was soft and more of a comfort than you ever thought it would be.
Sometimes he got very sad. After a while you learned to not question the logic of his thoughts. Instead, you simply tried to understand what he meant, accepting him for where he was in his life.
I miss my brother.
I wonder what happened to my best friend.
I didn't think I would ever be this far from the Nile and the sun.
I abandoned my people, didn't I?
If only I could find where my sister was buried. Would that even make me feel better, though? What closure will I gain from seeing her tomb?
... if she even had one.
There's a melody going on in his head, right now. Something that could put you to sleep if you weren't currently working. It's nothing you've heard before, that you're certain of, and judging by the tone of it and your soulmate's previous thoughts, it sounds Egyptian.
Despite the museum being closed, most of the lights are still on. One of the night guards had a very strange insistence about it, but wouldn't tell you why. Oh well––questioning people is above your paygrade, since you aren't getting paid for this. It is volunteer work. Not that you mind; ever since realizing the voice in your head was Egyptian, you've gotten a palate for history. Currently, however, you're dealing less with history and more with files. The curator at this museum asked you to sort through the records of all the different exhibits that are here, or were once here at some point, which made a very large collection. Massive, actually––you're only sorting through A, and it's going to take you a couple weeks.
He's humming softly to himself. The tune carries into your work, and you allow yourself to enjoy his voice as you sort, going over every record to look for exhibits no longer displayed. For this you have a chart in your other hand––a log of all the exhibits currently public in the museum.
Although you're supposed to be concentrated on your sorting, you find yourself more entranced with the melody in your head, and the clearest thought that rings in your mind is, 'that is beautiful.'
The humming stops. Dead in its' tracks, about to reach its' peak, and it stops.
'My mother sang it to me,' he says, 'before I slept as a child.'
"Holy shit, are you talking to me?" You say out loud with bulging eyes before you can stop yourself. The moment you realize what you said, a bright blush coats your cheeks and you slap your hand over your mouth. But he doesn't seem to mind––actually, he laughs, and it's sweeter than summer sugar.
'You must be my heart,' he says in an astounded tone, and you can practically see his dream-filled eyes. You sit puzzled for a second before replying.
"Do you mean your soulmate?"
'Well... I suppose yes, that could be one of the names,' he says, and it only adds more onto the lists of questions you have for him.
"What is your name?" You ask first, hardly realizing you're still talking aloud to yourself.
'My name is Ahkmenrah," he tells you, and it takes less than a millisecond before the dots connect in your head. Instantly your eyes dart to the sheet in your hand, and near the top of the list, there it sits––Ahkmenrah.
'I know this must be confusing for you,' he continues, 'but I am from another time. While I lived then, I dreaded that I didn't have a heart, as I heard no voice. That fear has carried on into my next life, but now that you're here –'
"Oh I'm here alright," you say, unbelieving of both your circumstances and your unblinking acceptance at them. "I'm, like, two floors below you."
"WHAT?!"
A voice from above catches you, but as the same word rings in your mind, you realize with great glee that he instinctively yelled 'what' without thinking. You laugh, and the thought of your laughter reaches him.
Less than a minute later you can hear footsteps pounding down the stairs, landing at the closed door before the handle wrenches open. You quickly move to your feet, facing the man whose voice you know so well, who haunted your childhood and enchanted your adulthood. You can barely hide the grin that spreads across your face––whatever magic has brought you to this moment, you thank everything you can for it, your attention ensnared by the soft features of a 4,000 year old Pharaoh.
He pauses once he enters the archive, eyes finding yours immediately. His mouth hangs open slightly as he scans you, absorbs every feature on your body and face, and barely moves even to breathe for a good minute or two.
"I – I'm sorry, I j – I just realized I didn't ask your name," he says quietly, a small, ginger smile growing on his lips.
"(Y/N)," you say, but you don't quite know how your brain worked to make the word. You certainly didn't consciously choose to speak.
"I have waited thousands of years for you," he says, impossibly softer as he steps forward. He's really quite harmless, you realize––for all the fear you had of him as a child, he's nothing but a sweet-faced boy.
"Was it worth it?" You ask, and your voice cracks ever so slightly.
"My heart," he breathes out, affection lacing his name for you, "it was worth every second."

The Pianist pt 1 | Jurdan
Modern AU. Okay so this is the first time I'm trying a Jurdan AU, dunno how's gonna go so don't get too excited okay?
*Update: Read part 2*
Jude had lived in the same apartment for years, and refused to leave. It was small, but rent controlled, and there was no way she could afford to stay in New York if she lived anywhere else. So despite the feeling that she was slowly going insane, she stayed.
The apartment building was not too far from the Juilliard school, and Jude both hated and loved this about her place. Of course all she had ever wanted to do was make music, but she was raised by a single father who remarried a woman who hated her, and a performing arts school was just never in the cards for her. She hadn’t even finished high school- left home young, went somewhere she could be surrounded art, and tried to be content living life among artists even if all she could do was wait tables for snotty rich conservatory students.
The worst of all of them was Cardan.
Cardan lived in the apartment above hers, and of course he was gorgeous and talented and stupid wealthy. From the titter around the local diner, Cardan was supposed to be some kind of wunderkind, even among the Juilliard crowd. This part, Jude did not dispute. She had listened to him practice on his grand piano at home, countless nights. What she despised was that he only seemed to play between the hours of 8pm and 4am, as if being skilled meant that one did not have to adhere to social rules of common courtesy.
What he did the rest of the day appeared, from the noises above her and from her not infrequent sightings of him around the building, was wake late, drink heavily, and sleep around. Jude was fairly sure his parents were bankrolling everything, from rent to booze, and it infuriated her.
Here she was, working three jobs just to exist near music. Sure, Cardan put the piano hours in. But if he was good now, what would he be like if he actually put effort in? What could he create if he wasn’t drunk or high all the time? How could his career fly if he was trying to make actual network connections instead of just talking girls into bed? Talent and money were wasted on Cardan and Jude hated him for it.
And then of course there was the fact that Cardan was just plain rude.
Jude told herself that this is the real reason she is typing out her eleventh email to the landlord, citing her tenant’s right to quiet enjoyment while half delirious at 2am. There were three and a half hours until she was supposed to be getting up for her first shift, and Cardan was playing like he’s got an extra pair of hands. Jude had tried to talk to other residents about this, but every time she brought up his name they just beamed and said “Yes, aren’t we lucky that Juilliard’s best student lives here, right in our apartment building!”
And so night after night, Jude lay in bed with a headache building between her eyes, composing letters of complaint in her head and only only very special occasions actually sending them.
On this particular night, Cardan played in bursts. Classical music that Jude didn’t recognise at a furious speed, then breaking off half way as if forgetting. Bright show tunes, then nothing again. Dramatic cinematic soundscapes, and then lapsing into silence. The jarring lurching was worse than when he played non-stop.
Jude found that the background light of her laptop hurt her eyes, and eventually she hit send and then went back to bed, where she pulled her pillow over her head. Every time Cardan stopped, she would just fall asleep only to be woken again, until he finally stopped altogether but Jude could no longer relax because she didn’t trust the silence.
In the end, she started doing what always helped her fall asleep. Sang her mother’s old lullabies quietly to herself, until she had calmed down enough to drift off.
///////
Cardan couldn’t sleep.
Cardan could never sleep, had had insomnia for as long as he could remember. When he was younger, it was sort of fun. He would stay up and read books under his covers with a flashlight, or write songs when everyone else was asleep.
As an adult, it just felt horrendous. All the time. He was always exhausted, his eyes always hurt, and when he tried to sleep he just lay in the dark with his thoughts running too fast around and around his head.
The alcohol used to help. A few glasses of wine before bed would make him drowsy, even if it did mean he woke up half way through the night feeling slightly dizzy. Now, it didn’t help him sleep as such, but being drunk was still better than being awake, and worse came to worse he would eventually pass out if he kept on drinking. Which was almost like sleep.
Tonight was particularly bad. His parents had let him know that they would be in town for the end of term concert, which was never good. His older siblings were all in high up and important roles- a senator, a partner in a law firm, a surgeon. And then there was him- the youngest and the dumbest and the novelty child of the family.
It didn’t actually matter that he was good and he knew it. Didn’t matter that he had started receiving media attention for his talent. He was still just playing at being musician and his parents were indulging him until he grew up and got a real job.
Cardan had tried to distract himself by spending the evening at Nicasia’s place, but she was smoking joints and he couldn’t stand the smell. So eventually he left and sat at the piano for a few hours, but nothing was coming together. Usually, his fingers remembered even if his brain didn’t, but today he was getting half way through pieces and then finding that he just… couldn’t be bothered.
Eventually, he dragged himself back to his infernal bed, with its tauntingly soft sheets but no rest to be found anywhere. He lay on his back, staring at the ceiling, and willing the hours away.
Until suddenly, his ears caught a whisper of a song so soft and sweet he was sure he was hallucinating. He did that sometimes, when he hadn’t slept in a few days.
But no, it was coming from somewhere below him.
Cardan got to the floor and peeled the rug back. Pressed his ear to the vent there and sure enough, he could hear a woman singing. He strained and couldn’t quite make out the words, but there was something sad and lovely about that voice.
Moving as little as possible, so as to not rustle over the sound, Cardan adjusted his position until he was lying more comfortably on the ground, and let himself relax into the song.
The next day, Cardan would not recall how long he lay there before he fell asleep, and it was a shock to be woken by the sun, still sprawled there on the carpet.
****
Literally nothing planned, no idea where this is going just thought I'd start and see where we end up! Then again, that's me almost all the time isn't it...
Also, I am Quite Stressed today so I apologise if a) I don’t make sense and b) if this story doesn’t progress as fast as we would like it to.

tall, blonde and gorgeous • jeon jeongguk
Tumblr media
plot — when jeongguk dyes his hair blonde, it might just be the push you both need to finally talk about the feelings you have for each other.
words — 5.7K
You woke up in the middle of the night, craving some apple juice. You knew there was in the kitchen fridge, because Taehyung always made sure to stock up whenever you come for a weekend visit.
Speaking of your brother, he was passed out next to you, the two of you sharing his King sized bed while you visited. Like you always did. It was mostly just you two, but sometimes Jimin would join you. You don't mind, you known both of them since forever and Jimin is your brother as much as Taehyung is.
Quietly, you got out of bed. You didn't want to wake your brother, he works so hard and needs his rest.
The dorm was silent, which was a little weird because there was usually always someone up. It was only when on tour that all seven of the boys would sometimes be asleep at once, but even that was rare.
Shrugging it off, you padded the rest of the way to the kitchen, only to come to a halt in the doorway, freezing.
Someone with a mop of blond hair stood with his back to you, digging through the fridge.
The digging through the fridge wasn't what surprised you, no, it was the hair because as far as you knew, no one in Bangtan had blonde hair right now.
You knew because your brother was always spamming your phone, whenever he had time, with pictures, videos, voice notes and messages. You and Taehyung have always been close and he always made the effort to keep you up-to-date with his life but also made a point to keep you out of the spotlight, which you appreciate more than you tell him. Come to think of it, more than half your gallery is made up of pictures of Bangtan. The other half is made up of your rare selfies, pictures with your friends, of your dog or your brother's dog.
The point is, if someone colored their hair, you would know within five minutes - with pictures and everything. And Taehyung hasn't spammed your phone since yesterday morning when he and Jimin accidentally got Hobi instead of Jeongguk with a water balloon.
So, the question is, who is the blonde currently rummaging through the fridge?
You looked him up and down, noticing the very nice, very broad and clearly strong shoulders covered with a black t-shirt that hid the rest of the guy's figure. Your gaze went down a nice ass and long legs that was wearing grey sweatpants and finally stopping at bare feet.
Something flashed in your mind.
Wait a minute.
You know that ass. You've looked at it enough over the last seven years to recognize it anywhere in a crowd.
"Jeongguk?" You called, a little satisfied when he jumped upright, turning to you with wide eyes. Your heart decided to double its pace.
"Ah, tiny, you're awake. I thought you were sleeping, trying to grow some more." He teased, his heartbeat slowly calming down from the freight you gave him. His eyes quickly scanned you over, and he had to suppress a smile when he saw the bright orange pajamas. It was ugly as hell - he made sure to tell you many times but you always just roll your eyes at him or if you were feeling particularly moody, you'd flip him a finger.
Now, ordinarily, you'd snap at him for calling you tiny because you aren't (it doesn't matter that Jimin is 12 centimeters taller than you, it doesn't make you tiny, short maybe, but not tiny) but right now, you could only focus on one thing.
"Y-your hair." You stuttered, which was new because you never stutter in Jeongguk's presence. Your heart may race, your legs may turn into jelly, your hands may tremble and your stomach may fill with butterflies but you never stutter. And you never let him know what you're feeling.
He ran a hand through his freshly dyed blonde hair, only a little self-conscious with the intense stare you were giving him. He couldn't tell if it was positive or negative. "Yeah, I just wanted a change, something different."
"Well, it's definitely different. Mission accomplished." You informed him, walking into the kitchen fully, your voice miraculously even as you were internally panicking. This was like that time he dyed his hair pink all over again. Oh god. You hoped you could form coherent sentences this time around instead of just giving him the silent treatment for two weeks.
Like you said, you don't stutter around Jeongguk. Ever.
Jeongguk tilted his head at you curiously. "Bad different?"
"No!" You exclaimed, not wanting him to think that. You shook your head vigorously. "Not all. It looks good actually. Really good." So good, in fact, that your fingers itched to touch, to run your hands through it, play with the dyed locks of hair.
Jeongguk looked at you in pleasant surprise, lips stretching into that familiar bunny smile that made you swoon. He bit his bottom lip before saying. "I think that's the first time you ever paid me a compliment."
You frowned, "That can't be true."
"It is." Jeongguk's tone was matter-of-fact. "In seven years, you've never once given me a compliment. I would have remembered."
You pursed your lips, a sudden surge of guilt rushing through your chest at the look on his face - hurt.
"Well, you get lots of compliments from other people, right?" You said, trying to deflect because you never once thought that by staying quiet around Jeongguk, just to hide your feelings, that you'd hurt him.
"But never from you." Jeongguk said, words low and heavy with something you didn't understand. He stared at you, eyes open and strangely vulnerable. You didn't understand what he was trying to tell you.
You frowned at him again, "What does it matter?"
Something in Jeongguk's eyes shuttered at that, like he let you see something but now he pulled his walls back up. You still didn't understand it and he wasn't volunteering an answer.
Finally, he shrugged, "It doesn't, I guess." and he turned back to the refrigerator.
You had a feeling he was lying but you weren't going to call him out because that wasn't your place and it wasn't the kind of thing you and Jeongguk did. Whenever things seemed to go in a direction where feelings were involved - and not about other people but about each other, like what you think of Jeongguk and what he thinks of you - one of you stops the conversation before it can go deeper.
You tease each other good-naturedly, comfortable with each other because you are the same age, and you've listened to him rant when he was frustrated and even held his hand at times when he cried because the pressure of it all got a little to much.
It struck you, suddenly, how Jeongguk always comes to you first. Whether he's stupidly happy about something, or whether he's sad and wants a shoulder to cry on. You two could talk about anything under the sun or moon but whenever it comes to your feelings for each other, you shut down. You've never even admitted that you are, at the very least, friends and that you do care about each other.
You wondered if maybe it was time to change that.
You looked at Jeongguk's back and wanted to ask if thinks of you as a friend, if nothing else but what came out was, "Can you hand me a juice box please?"
He did so, without a word, and you decided to go back to bed. You stopped in the doorway again, turning back to him. "Jeongguk?"
"Yeah?" His tone, his eyes, was strangely hopeful and it made your heart twist. You looked at him, and somehow fell a little bit more in love with him.
"You know that I care about you, right? I mean, I know we've never talked about it, but I do." Your hands was shaking and you gripped the juice box. Luckily you didn't press the straw in yet or your hands would be full of apple juice right now.
The smile Jeongguk gave you was brilliant and it made your heart feel lighter than ever. He nodded his head, "I know."
"Good."
"I-" He started, breath catching a bit but forced himself to go on because if you could be brave, then so could he. "I care about you, too."
You grinned at him before turning away and going back to Taehyung's room, a definite skip in your step.
* * *
"So, what do you think?" Taehyung asked eagerly the next morning after breakfast, when everyone cooed and screeched over Jeongguk's hair.
You were back in your brother's room, scrolling through your Twitter feed. You looked at him, not sure what he was talking about. When it comes to Taehyung it can anything from the lines for a song he's working on to his next prank on one of the members.
"Of what?" You asked.
"About Jeonggukie." He said, waving with a hand at his head, so that the meaning was clear.
"Ah, you mean his transformation from tall, dark and handsome to tall, blonde and gorgeous?"
"Yes! What do you think?" Your brother looked at you expectantly.
"I think my previous question is an answer to that question." You smirked at him, snickering when he just scoffed before pouting at you.
"I hate it when you go all smartass on me." He said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"I love you, too." You sing-songed with a lighthearted giggled.
* * *
Later that afternoon, you decided to watch a movie and was joined by Jeongguk, Taehyung, Hoseok and Jimin.
"Jeongguk-ah." You called from where you were sitting on the two seater couch next to Hoseok. Jimin and Taehyung was laying cuddled on the three seater and Jeongguk was sitting on the floor, against the front of the coffee table. You weren't sure where the rest are right now.
He turned to you, eyes narrowed suspiciously, "What do you want?"
You gaped at him, "What makes you think I want something?"
"Because you only call me 'Jeongguk-ah' when you want something." He was matter-of-fact.
The other three was watching the two of you instead of the movie.
"Like what? I rarely ask you anything." You frowned at him.
"Like getting your phone from Taehyung-hyung's room, making you tea, bringing you a blanket, getting your food." Jeongguk said and you huffed. Okay, so maybe you do that but this time what you want would benefit him too.
"Okay, first of all, you didn't have to do any of what I asked, you know. And second, you'll like this too." You assured him, then added after a moment. "I think."
Jeongguk looked at you warily as Jimin and Taehyung exchanged smirks. "What do you want?"
"I want to play with your hair." You shrugged nonchalantly, not showing a hint of how nervous you are, no showing how it took you the whole morning to pluck enough courage together to ask.
Jeongguk's mouth fell open in surprise, "Seriously?"
"Yeah, I mean I've always liked your hair but this blonde hair is really doing for you." You smiled at him, a little more confident when you saw more confusion than anything else on his face. Satisfaction rolled through you when you noticed his red ears.
"Whatever, fine." He muttered in agreement, looking away from you as he stood up right and came to sit down infront of you.
"Thank you." You grinned, clapping your hands in glee as you crossed your legs on the couch, knees touching Jeongguk's shoulders.
"Just don't tangle it." Jeongguk said, eyes fixed on the TV screen.
"I won't." You promised before reaching out and running your hands through his hair. It was just as soft as you hoped, instead of being dry and rough from the dye - it made you feel giddy.
Jeongguk tensed under the touch for a second but relaxed when you continued your gentle ministrations, nails scraping softly against his scalp. You tuned out the rest of the room, having watched the movie before - you've watched all the Marvel movies with Jeongguk at least three times - and continued playing with the blonde tresses.
Still, something caught your attention and you said, "Jimin-oppa, put away that phone."
"I don't know what you're talking about." He said innocently, hiding his phone behind his back.
"Sure you don't."
It was silent for fifteen seconds before he whined, "But no one will believe me if I don't have proof."
"They'll believe Hobi-oppa." You retorted, nodding to the ray of sunshine sitting besides you.
Jimin huffed indignantly but dutifully put his phone away.
You continued playing with Jeongguk's hair, twirled and braided and separated and bunched it together like a pineapple stem atop his hair. The movie finished and Taehyung picked another one and you still played with Jeongguk's hair.
Twenty minutes into the new movie, Jeongguk's head fell back, onto your legs, eyes closed. You gaped at the blonde.
"Jeongguk." You whispered, not wanting to wake him if he is sleeping but not sure if he's playing either.
"Did he fall asleep?" Your brother asked, laughter in his voice, making his eyes sparkle.
"I think so." You nodded, in a state of bewilderment and disbelief.
"You must have magic hands." Hoseok said before pressing a hand over his mouth to muffle the sounds of his laughter.
Your glared at them. "Not one more word out of the three of you, or I'll change the sugar in your coffee for salt for the indefinite future."
"I didn't say anything." Jimin protested and you just gave him a pointed look.
They thankfully kept quiet after that, but you could see them glancing at you and Jeongguk every now and again. You ignored their gazes as you continued playing with his hair.
Your heart was thumping happily in your chest, glad that Jeongguk enjoy you playing with his hair so much that it lulled him to sleep. It made you feel so content that you didn't want to move again.
You even turned a blind eye when you saw Jimin turning his phone in your direction ten minutes later.
At the end of the movie, you decided to wake Jeongguk up. As much as you like him sleeping on your legs, they were starting to fall asleep and he would get a stiff neck if he keeps sleeping like that.
So, you shooed everyone out of the room before gently shaking his shoulder. "Jeongguk-ah, wake up."
He groaned and you repeated your actions, watching as his eyes fluttered open. You looked into his sleepy eyes, wanting to coo as you watched him blink his way out of sleep. He quickly recognised you, even upside down, and immediately sat upright, looking at you with wide eyes.
"Y/N?" His voice was husky with sleep and it made your cheeks heat up. "What happened?"
"You feel asleep." You explained. You watched as he nodded slowly, processing this and felt the urge to tease him a little, so you added, "On my lap."
Jeongguk's cheeks flushed pink and you couldn't help the fond smile on your lips. He ducked his head shyly and spoke a soft, "Sorry."
"It's okay." You waved him off. You wanted to even the field between you because it felt unbalanced somehow, like you had something over Jeongguk. You didn't like it, you wanted to be right besides him. Not above or below him. (Although many people would say he's way above you, you know that he doesn't care about that and neither do you.) Finally you admitted, "I liked it, it was nice that you felt relaxed enough because of me to fall asleep."
"I liked it, too."
You smiled, a little shy but also feeling bold by his admission. "I'll do it again sometime then."
"Okay." He grinned.

After that weekend, it took three weeks before you had another free weekend to go and visit your brother. With your bag slung over your shoulder and a bouquet of red tulips in your hand, you opened the door and called a loud hello to anyone inside. You made you way to the kitchen first, wanting to put the flowers in some water.
You found Jeongguk - who was still blonde, and your heart instantly picked up its pace - and Namjoon in the kitchen, the leader busy by the microwave and Jeongguk waiting as far as humanly possible from it. You quickly realised what was happening and supressed a smile. Namjoon must be heating food up for Jeongguk, who is afraid of microwaves.
You exchanged greetings and you quickly started looking through the cupboards for a vase.
"Those are pretty flowers." Namjoon remarked, leaning against the counter.
"I know right."
"Where did you get them?" Jeongguk asked, eyes on the admittedly pretty flowers.
"Oh, some guy gave them to me before asking me out." You answered absentmindedly as you continued your search for a vase.
Behind you, Jeongguk tensed, his hands curling into fists.
"Really?" Namjoon asked, more to see Jeongguk's reaction than anything else.
"Yeah, I almost said yes, too, just for the fact that he gave me flowers." You nodded over your shoulder. "Do you guys have a vase? I swear Jin-oppa had one in the old dorm."
"Under the sink." Namjoon answered, arms crossed over his chest as he looked back and forth between an oblivious-you and a jealous-Jeongguk, a smile on the corners of his lips.
"Thanks." You grinned before walking over to the sink and crouching down. You opened the cupboard and had to dig past the sponges, cloths, windowlene, bleach and dishwashing liquid before spotting the crystal vase. "I love flowers, you know? Not many people know because it's not something I advertise but Taehyung-oppa always gives me flowers for my birthday, every year since I was thirteen." You babbled as you gently pulled out the vase, not wanting to knock it against one of the pipes and crack or shatter it by accident. It was a little dusty, so you rinsed it before filling it halfway with water.
"Do you have a favorite flower?" Namjoon asked, partly to fill the silence because Jeongguk was glaring at the ceiling, tongue in cheek, and partly because he genuinely wants to know.
"Nope," You shook your head, removing the protective plastic around the flowers and putting them in the water. "I like all kinds of flowers. Roses, lillies, forget-me-nots, proteas, tulips, sunflowers - you name it, I love it. And in all colours too. There's just too many to pick a favorite. Although I really like pink lotus flowers. I'd love to grow them when I have my own garden someday. I'll have to install a shallow pond, of course, because they grow in mud but yeah, that's something I'd really like to try." You rambled on. Namjoon watched you fondly and glanced at the maknae, seeing that Jeongguk was still tense.
"Did you say yes?" Jeongguk burst out asking the moment you stopped talking.
"Huh?" You frowned at him, a little lost because you were completely caught up in thoughts of flowers.
"The date." He said, voice taking a sharp edge. "Did you say yes?"
"Oh." Realisation dawned on you and you shook your head. "No, I didn't."
"Then why did you take his flowers? You'll give him the wrong idea." Jeongguk grumbled.
Namjoon thought that right now was the best time to become a missing person and quickly exited the kitchen. He is not playing referee, should this turn into an arguement. No, thank you, he's done it enough between these two.
You rolled your eyes at Jeongguk, "I made myself perfectly clear, Jeongguk. I told him that while I adore the flowers, I don't like him."
"Still, you shouldn't have taken them." Jeongguk insisted, stepping closer to you.
Your temper flared, "Excuse me? Why not?"
"What if someone had seen? What if they start thinking that you two are dating?" Jeongguk's tone was something crossed between horror and panic.
"And so what if they think that?" You frowned at Jeongguk because what does it matter what other people think when you know the truth?
"So you do want people to think you're dating." Jeongguk said, voice cutting and accusing.
"What?" You stepped closer to Jeongguk, getting angrier by the second.
"Do you actually like this guy?" Jeongguk asked, sounding distressed with the thought but you were to angry to pay any attention to that.
You scoffed, "Don't be ridiculous."
"I'm ridiculous?" He pointed to himself, shocked.
"Yes! They're just fucking flowers!" Your voice was raised as you snapped at him, louder and harsher than it's been in a long time towards Jeongguk, of all people.
You didn't have time to feel guilty because his next words matched yours in volume, "That some other guy bought for you!"
"And your point is what exactly?!" Your voice didn't lower.
"My point is that I can buy you flowers!" Jeongguk shouted back.
The words take a second to sink in, and when it does, it catches you completely off guard and you deflate like a popped balloon, you anger evaporating like mist under the sun. You squint up at the blonde, who you finally noticed was a lot closer than when you started this arguement. "What?"
His voice was soft this time around, all the fight having left him, too. "If you want flowers, just ask me. I'll buy you any flowers you want. Just-" He cut himself off with a sigh, closing his eyes. "Don't take someone else's flowers again. Please."
You looked at him, opening your mouth to snap at him but saw the sincere, the utterly vulnerable look in his eyes, and the breath was knocked from your lungs. You looked away, taking a few steps back as your heart twisted and you inhaled deeply to fill your lungs again. You noticed that Namjoon had left the kitchen. You didn't blame him.
A lengthy silence later, you finally looked at Jeongguk again, your hands trembling. "Is it really that important to you?"
"Yes." Jeongguk answered softly but firmly, no question in his voice, even as he looked down at the tiled floor.
"Okay." You nodded.
His eyes snapped to yours, and he echoed, "Okay?"
"Yeah, okay." You gave him a slow smile, then, just to break the heavy tension around you two, you said, "Just know that there is no backing out now and flowers are expensive. You aren't allowed to complain that I'm denting your bank account later."
"Deal." Jeongguk laughed, warmth spreading through his chest as the last of his jealousy faded.
* * *
"You know that one day you are going to have to talk about the feelings between you and Jeongguk, right?" Taehyung asked his sister later that night when they were laying in bed. He heard the story from Jimin, who heard it from Seokjin and Yoongi, who heard it from Hoseok, who heard it from Namjoon.
"What feelings?" You asked innocently.
Taehyung sighed in frustration but wasn't very surprised. The one thing that Taehyung has never been able to get out of his sister is the truth about her feelings for Jeongguk. But even without her saying anything, he knew. The eyes don't lie. "Denying it won't make it go away, Y/N."
You sighed, too, "Yeah, I know."
Taehyung didn't say anything for a few moments. This was the closest his sister ever gotten to admitting her feelings out loud, in seven years. "I'm here for you. Always."
"Thanks." You smiled, as if you didn't know that already.
* * *
Before you went home that Sunday, your brother told you that they were going on vacation as a group and you're invited because according to Taehyung, right after Jimin, you are the one person he can't live without. You rolled your eyes at the dramatics but agree to go with them none the less.
So, you put in a week's leave for two weeks from now and asked your brother where you would be going for this vacation. The answer was a secluded beach house where no one would be able to reach you.
And no phones was allowed.
You laughed a bit at that rule when you arrived at the house and saw that there is WiFi. Your brother was quick to remind everyone of the rule, telling them that the WiFi was only allowed to be used for YouTube and Netflix. Games was added to the list after an objection from Jeongguk and Seokjin.
"This is gonna go great." You laughed as walked up the stairs to pick a room. You get first choice after winning the rock, paper, scissors game in the car.
"Pick us a nice room, sis!" Taehyung shouted up after you.
There was only four rooms because the whole point of this vacation is to spend time together, which means that everyone was doubling up. They decided to pair up by age and it turned out - Seokjin and Yoongi, Hoseok and Namjoon, Jimin and Jeonguk, and naturally, you and Taehyung were paired up. (You tried not to think about the fact that if you kept to the age pairing that you and Jeongguk would've been sharing a room.) That lead to a lot of pouting from Jimin because he wanted to pair up with his soulmate.
"If your so eager to share a bed with him, why don't you marry him?" You remember teasing Jimin.
"Maybe I will." He shot back without thinking and you weren't sure who was redder once his words set in - Jimin or Taehyung.
You picked a room with a small balcony and a nice view of the ocean. The day passed peacefully, everyone full of energy but after dinner on the beach, everyone quickly retired to bed, the sea air getting to them.
You decided to watch the ocean a little while longer and Jeongguk joined you. Neither of you spoke as you sat on the sand, watching as the waves crashed on the shore, water retreating back into the vast expanse of ocean. It was captivating, in a kind of terrifying way but if there is one thing in your life you've never been scared of, it's water.
"Life is a lot like the ocean." You eventually said, breaking the silence between you.
"How so?"
"You can read about it in so many books, but you still won't know everything about it."
"That's deep." Jeongguk said, voice soft.
You shrugged, feeling a little self-conscious. "Yeah, well, I've never been a shallow person."
"I know." You saw him nodding out of the corner of your eyes. "You're a beautiful person. Inside and out." He said it so matter-of-factly, so sincerely, that your stomach flipped and your cheeks flushed.
"Thanks." You smiled over at him.
It was silent again, but just like the first silence, you didn't mind it. You like the comfortable quiet between you two. Finally, you sighed and pushed to your feet, "Come on, let's go inside."
"Okay." Jeongguk got to his feet and you walked the path home.
You walked on the side of the pool where you all swam earlier that day, and didn't notice the small puddle of water that hasn't dried yet and you slipped. You reached for Jeongguk but his hands missed yours by millimeters, so you just took a breath and resigned yourself to falling into the water. You didn't mind it all that much, nothing some towels couldn't fix.
When you surfaced, you saw a laughing Jeongguk on the side. An idea formed in your mind but you made sure to keep your expression neutral as you reached a hand out to him. "Give a girl a hand, please."
Jeongguk - nice, kind, unsuspecting Jeongguk - reached a helping hand out to you immediately, only realising your true intentions when you gave a forceful yank and pulled him into the pool.
When he surfaced, glaring at you - but there was no heat behind it, so it didn't count - you couldn't help but laugh heartily. "I forget how similar you and Taehyung-hyung really are sometimes."
"Sucks for you." You smirked. The smirk turned into spluttering when Jeongguk splashed water into your face. You looked at him with narrowed eyes. "Oh, you're on."
You splashed at each other like proper five year olds, giggling and everything. Finally you called a ceasefire before you woke up everyone inside.
You looked at Jeongguk, blonde hair dripping wet, droplets of water rolling down his tan skin, that little mole under his bottom lip that you've wanted to kiss so many times you've lost count and suddenly, all of your resolve broke down like a house of cards and your common sense shortcircuited. You surged forward and kissed him firmly, clutching at his shoulders to pull him close.
His lips were a little cold from the water but was still petal soft and you wondered what it would be like to kiss him everyday.
Your common sense returned a second later and you pulled away, almost loosing your footing and slipping. Your whole body was on fire and you couldn't look Jeongguk in the eyes. "Fuck. Shit, Jeongguk, I'm so, so sorry."
You turned away from him, every intention of getting out of this pool and hiding away until you die.
Only you didn't get anywhere before a strong hand circled your wrist in the one second and in the next second you found yourself pushed up against the wall of the swimming pool, barricaded in by a hand on each side of you. You looked up at Jeongguk and your mouth went dry at the sight of those dark eyes that made you shiver. His voice was low when he spoke, "I didn't get to kiss back."
Your eyes widened and that was all you had time to do before he leaned down to capture your lips. Your head told you to pull away. That this is a very bad idea. Your heart told you to kiss him back and make the most of it. You've been listening to your head for seven years, so you decided to listen to your heart for once and kissed Jeongguk back with years of pent up longing and yearning.
The kiss turn turned really hot, really fast.
Jeongguk hoisted you up and you quickly got with the program and wrapped your legs around his waist. Everywhere his hands touched, it left a blazing trail behind, causing you to shiver and erupt into goosebumps. Distantly you wondered how it was possible to feel so heated in cold water.
You kissed and kissed until your lungs burned, your toes curling as you squeezed as close to Jeongguk as possible. Finally, you couldn't take it anymore and you pulled away, both of you heaving lungfuls of air.
"So now what?" You asked him, when you regained some common sense and breathing didn't leave you breathless anymore.
"Well, right now I'd like to kiss you some more, but later on, I'd really like to take you out." Jeongguk told you bluntly and if you were standing, your legs would have given out.
"What?"
And just like that, gone was confident Jeongguk and back was shy Jeongguk. He ducked his head, adverting his eyes from yours. "If you want."
"Yeah, I want too." You told him, watching as his eyes glittered with happiness. You could relate.
Jeongguk was onto something with the kissing some more right now, though, so you pushed that away and you dived back in. Right now you were more interested in mapping the inside of Jeongguk's mouth and finding out what his skin tastes like than anything else in this world.
* * *
The next morning your brother squinted at you suspiciously from across the breakfast table. You were seated in between Jeongguk and Hoseok, across from Taehyung and Jimin. Namjoon sat next to Hoseok. Yoongi and Jin was busy making breakfast in the kitchen. The six of you were waiting patiently.
Finally you couldn't take the staring anymore. "Is there something on my face, Taehyung-oppa?"
"Something happened." Taehyung said, pointing the pair of chopsticks he was fiddling with at you.
You rose a brow, not surprised at all that your brother picked up on it. That doesn't mean you are going to make it easy for him. You put on an innocent face, "Really?"
"Yeah, Taehyung-ah is right, you're like-" Jimin agreed, waving his hands around as he searched for the right word. "...glowing."
"I am not glowing." You said indignantly. Out of the corner of your eyes, you caught a smirk lifting on Jeongguk's lips. You turned and narrowed your eyes at him, "You, stop looking so smug."
"What does Jeonggukie have to do with-" Taehyung cut himself off and you could see how he put the dots together. The look on his face was hilarious as he turned to Jeongguk with a fierce gaze, "Jeon Jeongguk, what have you done to my baby sister?"
Jeongguk, despite being bigger and stronger, still looked a bit terrified of Taehyung as he squeaked, "Nothing, hyung."
"Nothing, hyung. Hah! Do you take me for an idiot? Something happened. I know it did. What is it?"
You giggled and leaned over to Jeongguk and whispered in his ear, "Don't tell him anything. Watching him squirm and drawing his own conclusions, slowly going insane with curiousity will be much funnier than telling him the truth."
Jeongguk brightened at your suggestion and immediately nodded in agreement.
"What are you two whispering about?" Taehyung demanded, voice higher than normal, despite having the deepest voice of the lot. "Hobi-hyung, tell me what they're saying."
"Sorry, Taehyung-ah, I can't hear." Hoseok said with laughter in his tone.
Yoongi and Jin came in with the food before Taehyung could interrogate you further. Taehyung looked before you and Jeongguk, "This isn't over."
You laughed, looking forward to teasing your brother a bit, when suddenly a hand slipped into yours. You looked at Jeongguk, who was steadfastly avoiding your eyes. You noticed his red ears and smiled softly, twisting your hand so you could lace your fingers through his. As the two of you held hands under the table while eating breakfast, you felt giddy and more excited about the future than you have in a long time.
There was still a lot you and Jeongguk had to talk about, but that was for later. You had enough time to figure it all out. Together.
the end.

Anonymous requested: roommates Alex and Willie share a bed on the night of a storm and it becomes a habit, resulting with a confession and a kiss. (This was edited/simplified just to make it shorter.)
Sorry this has taken me so long to get round to! I absolutely loved the request and it was a joy to write, especially since I’m so stuck in my JatP feels for the anniversary. I’m always a sucker for a one bed trope too! I really hope you like it, thanks for the request!
Raging Storms and Lovesick Hearts
There were times that Alex wasn’t sure if moving in with Willie was the best decision he’d ever made or the worst. In many ways, it was a decision he would never go back on – living with Luke and Reggie had been fun during the day, but apparently neither of them had ever heard of sleep and decided to make that Alex’s problem, so now that he lived with Willie it was nice to finally know what it felt like to be well-rested. It was also great because he got to spend much more time with Willie, something he’d craved for as long as he’d known him.
But that was also sort of the worst thing about it all.
Being around Willie all the time was beginning to drive Alex a little bit insane. Not in a bad way, it wasn’t like he felt stifled or had grown bored or frustrated by Willie’s near-constant presence in his life. If anything, it was the opposite. Nowadays, he got to see every version of Willie, not just the smiley, put-together version he saw when they met up on odd weekends. Now he got to see tired Willie, just rolled out of bed, still unsteady on his feet from sleep; he saw even more of the kind, generous, fair Willie who offered to do the dishes whenever Alex cooked dinner; he saw the childishly exhausted Willie who crashed on the couch and slept for three hours every time he got back from the skatepark; he saw adorably sleepy Willie at night when it was nearing midnight and he was reluctantly going to bed, eyes already drooping closed; he saw paint-splattered Willie, brushes tucked behind his ears and shoved into his hair, headphones in, working tirelessly on some big piece that Alex admired every stage of; sometimes, he saw a version of Willie that made his heart ache, a broken version of Willie with tears running down his cheeks as he wiped furiously at his eyes as Alex did everything in his power to console him. He saw every version of Willie and he wanted them all so badly, but he couldn’t have any of them.
And sure, he’d brought this upon himself. When the guy he’d been pining over for exactly one year had asked if he wanted to move in, he could have guessed that it would ruin him, and he could have said no. It would’ve been easy.
But Alex had seen the smile on Willie’s face, the excited glint in his eye about the prospect of living together, and his affirmative answer had been out of his mouth before he’d given it a second thought. He was paying the price for his thoughtlessness now, condemned to watch Willie be anything but his for as long as they lived together. Frankly the whole thing was exhausting – he had to wonder if that was adding to him getting a good night’s sleep every night.
There was another reason he preferred nights now, not just because he could rest easily. Night was the only time he didn’t see Willie, the only time he could get a little respite from his aching heart, lie alone in the dark and pretend he was the only person on Earth. Maybe it was a little lonely and more than a little sad to think of things that way, but it was a change from his usual pining at the very least. He thought that having that time to escape his feelings was definitely doing him some good.
Until the night of the storm.
There had been warnings about it all week. Alerts popping up on Alex’s phone, breaking news plastered on every TV he saw, articles about finding shelter and stocking up on food just in case the storm was worse than they thought. It was only supposed to be a passing thing, been and gone overnight, but it was better to be safe than sorry.
It had been raining all day, a dismal drizzle, the kind of rain that was so fine you didn’t realise you were soaked until you felt your clothes sticking to your skin. But around midnight, everything kicked off. Alex lay in bed, toying with a fraying thread on the duvet cover, listening to the rain hammering against the windows hard enough to rattle their frames, the wind whistling as it bled through the streets outside, the claps of thunder loud enough to deafen as they came just seconds after bursts of lightning illuminated his entire room. He would be lying if he said he wasn’t a little bit frightened, but he curled up tighter in his bed, pulling the covers close, and tried to force sleep.
A knocking sound made his eyes snap open. At first, he wondered if he’d imagined it, or if it was the sound of something hitting his window, but then it came again. And yes, it was definitely a knock. A knock at his bedroom door. A knock on his bedroom door at half-midnight in the middle of a storm. And there was only one person it could be.
Alex stretched as he swung his long legs out of the bed and flicked his bedside lamp on. He pulled open the bedroom door, squinting in the sudden burst of light from the hallway, and was met by a timid-looking Willie with his hair braided back, wearing his pyjamas, fist still sheepishly raised as if to knock on the door again.
“Hey,” Alex said, voice low with fatigue. He tried to stifle a yawn as he scrunched his eyes, forcing the tiredness out of them. “Is everything okay?”
He must have not hidden his exhaustion as well as he’d tried because Willie winced before saying, “Sorry. Did I wake you up?”
“No, no,” Alex assured him, “I couldn’t sleep anyway. The storm is too loud.” Willie nodded awkwardly, casting his gaze around, seemingly trying to look anywhere but at Alex. It was strange – Willie wasn’t the type to avoid talking to someone, especially if it was Alex, who was suddenly left feeling very concerned. “Is it… Is that why you’re awake too?”
“Kind of,” Willie replied, a half-smile on his face that quickly flickered out of existence. He shook his head, taking a few steps back. “It’s silly. Don’t worry about it actually. I’ll go back to my room. I shouldn’t have bothered you.”
“Hey, no,” Alex protested, clutching Willie’s wrist as he tried to turn and walk away, stopping him in his tracks. Willie didn’t turn to face him, but did stop trying to leave, so Alex took that as a victory. “You could never bother me. And whatever it is, I’m sure it’s not silly.”
Slowly, Willie turned back around to face him, some mixture of hope and nervousness dancing in his eyes. When Willie looked down again, Alex followed his line of sight and saw that he still had a hold of Willie’s wrist. He dropped it suddenly, instantly aware that he’d been holding on too long and if he wasn’t careful Willie might take that to mean something that Alex definitely couldn’t have him knowing which would introduce a whole different kind of storm. (But before he let go, he could have sworn he felt Willie’s pulse racing; maybe it was his nerves, but maybe it was something else… something Alex didn’t want to get his hopes up about.)
“It’s just… I’m not really great with storms,” Willie admitted softly, meeting Alex’s eyes again. “They freak me out. I was just going to ask if I could… if I could, you know, sleep in here with you tonight? If it’s totally out of line you can say no, I get it, man, I won’t be up–”
Alex shook his head, not wanting to let him spiral, knowing that never ended up well for anyone. There was a pretty major part of him panicking over the fact that Willie was going to spend the night in his room, but that part was outweighed by the even bigger part of him that was worried and concerned for Willie, the part of him that wanted to protect Willie at all costs.
“No, no, it’s alright,” he said, interrupting Willie before he got too lost in his own head. “Come on, you can sleep in here. I don’t mind.”
It was only as the two of them backed into the room and Alex shut the door, blocking out all the light from the hallway and leaving them dimly lit by just his bedside lamp, that Alex remembered that his room was very small and ill-equipped for impromptu sleepovers. Which was to say, there was only one bed.
His internal panicking doubled in an instant. Because there weren’t many options here. He could make Willie sleep on the floor, which seemed incredibly harsh and unfair considering the state he’d just come to Alex in. He could sleep on the floor himself, which he really didn’t want to do because it would be cold down there and he didn’t like the idea of being able to see underneath his bed. They could relocate to Willie room down the hall where there was a small sofa that one of them (probably Alex) could sleep on, and they’d still be in the same room, but he knew they were both tired and switching rooms sounded like a lot of effort. Which just left sharing the bed, and truth be told, Alex was utterly terrified by the idea.
He was about to say something, ask Willie what he thought the best course of action was, but the words died in his mouth as he saw that Willie was already climbing into the bed. He already seemed much more at ease, the worry lines around his face softening as he closed his eyes. After yet another brief panic, Alex got into the bed again and laid down beside him.
He could hardly hear the raging storm over the incessant beating of his own lovesick heart.
The whole thing felt so intimate even though there was nothing overtly intimate about it. Really it was just one friend helping another, Alex being there for Willie when he was frightened, lending him a bed and a comforting presence. But they were so close, touching all along one side of Alex’s body, their breathing synced, the world around them slowly fading into nothingness until it was just the two of them.
After some time, it was impossible to tell exactly how long, Willie said, “Thank you, Alex.”
Alex sighed quietly, letting his eyes fall closed. He shuffled ever so slightly closer to Willie on the bed and as his tiredness overtook him he lost a little control over his inhibitions. Before he knew it, he’d thrown an arm around Willie’s waist, holding him close, their bodies curled together. When he registered what he’d done, he almost pulled away, but Willie relaxed into him so he let his arm stay where it was.
“Don’t mention it,” Alex whispered to the darkness around them. “I’m always going to be here whenever you need me.”
In moments, they were both asleep, the storm still raging outside.
*
When Alex woke up the next morning, the storm had all but died. He could still hear the gentle pitter-patter of rain drumming on the windows and roof, but the wind had long since ceased, as had the thunder and lightning that had lit up the night. He exhaled contentedly, relaxing against the warmth on the left side of his body, and nearly drifted off to sleep.
But then he realised what – or rather who – that warmth was.
The events from the night before came flooding back to his with all the ferocity of the storm itself. Willie coming to him in the middle of the night, how frightened he had seemed, how Alex had offered up his room, and how they’d fallen asleep tangled together. Now they had woken up in the exact same way, and Alex had no idea what to do about it.
If he moved, he risked waking Willie and that was a conversation he would rather avoid. But if he stayed still, Willie would eventually wake up and he’d still have to have that awkward ‘remember last night’ conversation. There was really no winning here. Even in a situation where he was cuddling the love of his life, he couldn’t come out unscathed.
So, he went for the slightly immature third option and opted to feign sleep, letting the whole thing be Willie’s problem whenever he woke up.
And eventually he did, not long after Alex. When Alex felt him stir and stretch, he tried to slow his breathing, keep his eyes closed only gently, and even let out a few fake little snores to try and sell the piece. His eyes were closed, so he had no idea if Willie even looked at him, but moments later Willie slipping out from his grasp and Alex heard the tell-tale creak of his bedroom door. Only when he heard it click shut did he breathe a long sigh of relief.
Honestly, he had thought that would be it. One night together and then Alex could get back to his nights of peaceful sleep. Only there were two things in the way of that:
One – suddenly, without Willie sleeping in his bed, Alex found that sleep was much harder to come by.
Two – after that night, Willie slept in Alex’s bed more often than not.
Alex really had no idea how it became so routine, but it did. About a week after the storm, Willie knocked on his door again and told Alex he’d had a nightmare, asking to sleep in his bed again. And who was Alex to refuse? So they’d slept in the same bed again, they’d woken up a tangle of limbs, and Willie had crept out while Alex pretended to sleep.
Then just two nights later, Alex’s resolve had broken and something had possessed him to go to Willie’s room and invite him back to his own. He had made up some flimsy excuse, something about his heater having broken and him needing warmth, but Willie hadn’t questioned it. They’d slept in the same bed again, they’d woken up a tangle of limbs, and Willie had crept out while Alex pretended to sleep.
And the very next night, they hadn’t even discussed it before the two of them just went straight to Alex’s room and climbed into bed together. They’d slept in the same bed again, woken up a tangle of limbs, and Willie had crept out while Alex pretended to sleep.
For something so focused on sleep, it was ridiculously tiring.
After it had gone on for a few weeks, Alex had to wonder if maybe this whole thing meant something. If maybe he wasn’t alone in his feelings. If maybe Willie felt the same, but had similar hang-ups to Alex – he didn’t want to ruin their friendship, didn’t want to embarrass himself by admitting to unrequited love, didn’t even know how to bring it up. Maybe sleeping by each other’s side had become something of a safety net for them, a teetering middle ground on the border of friendship and something else entirely.
And as Alex lay awake, head rested on Willie’s chest, listening to his heartbeat, he knew suddenly that he had to push it. No matter how much that frightened him, he had to take that leap and push them into the uncertain territory that was something other than friendship.
When he sensed Willie waking up, he did not pretend to be asleep.
He eased his head off Willie’s chest and rolled over to lay on his front, watching Willie as he blinked awake endearingly. Alex’s heart was practically beating out of his chest, but he knew he had to do it. He had to take that leap.
“Good morning,” he said quietly.
Willie smiled gently, rubbing at his tired eyes and pushing his hair out of his face. “Good morning, hotdog.”
“I think we need to talk,” Alex said without preamble. It wasn’t the most natural segue into the matter at hand, but that hardly seemed to matter right then.
Willie blinked, clearly a little surprised, but then he nodded. Alex took a deep breath, steeling himself, and let it out.
“I really like you, Willie,” he said, maintaining eye contact even though it was the most petrifying thing he’d ever done. “Like, a lot. So much that it’s been kind of driving me crazy for a year now. I’ve wanted to tell you how I feel for about a year now, but every time I tried all this doubt and anxiety just told me it wasn’t worth it and that you could never like me the way I like you. And I believed it. I never said anything, and I fooled myself into thinking I’d be alright if we were just friends. But after all this, sharing a bed almost every night and then pretending it never happened… it’s proved to me how much I need you. I can’t sleep without you next to me, Willie. I want you by my side all the time. All of you. So, if I’m not reading this whole thing dramatically wrong, then I want to finally ask you to… to be my boyfriend.”
For a long moment, Willie said nothing. He held eye contact, like he was searching Alex’s eyes for the truth, whatever it might have been. But Alex had said the whole truth. He’d let it all out, he’d told Willie he needed him. All he could do was hope that Willie needed him too.
The moment ended abruptly when Willie breathed out and almost silent, “Yes,” and then surged forward to kiss Alex.
He was kissing him.
This was a possibility that Alex had never allowed himself to entertain, a thought he’d never followed up, a scenario he’d never imagined. He had known that once he thought about kissing Willie, he would be ruined if it never happened. But the real thing was better than anything Alex could have thought up in his wildest dreams anyway. It was like a muffled explosion – both harsh and soft, near and far, dangerous and safe.
When they separated, Alex rested his forehead against Willie’s trying to get his breath back and his heartrate under control.
“I’d been wondering if I should say something,” Willie chuckled, stroking his fingers through Alex’s hair. “You beat me to it.”
Alex smiled and pressed another soft kiss to Willie’s lips. “Doesn’t matter. We got there eventually.”
The next morning when they both woke up in Alex’s bed, Alex didn’t need to feign sleep. He pressed a kiss to his boyfriend’s cheek and pulled him tighter. He thought that after months of missed opportunities, they definitely deserved a lazy morning in bed together.

You Take Care Of Him After He Injures Himself ~ Super Junior Reaction
Leeteuk:
Your eyes widened as you looked across the room to see Jeongsu walking through and grabbing his coat. Straight away you stood up, walking across the room to stand in front of him.
“Where do you think you’re going?” You questioned, preventing him from opening the door. “You’ve got to rest you can’t be going anywhere.”
His head shook, trying to step aside. “I’m the leader, I have to be there. A big of a tight muscle isn’t going to stop me being at the rehearsal.”
“But going out when your told to rest could see you not on the tour altogether,” you sighed, holding onto his arms, “please just rest, for today Jeongsu.”
He sighed as he noticed the pain in your eyes. “I just hate that I’m injured, I’m the one that’s supposed to be there cheering them all on, not sat around at home.”
“They all understand that you need a couple of days to get over this,” you assured him, turning him back around. “Rest now, and then you can get back to work quicker.”
His head nodded, reluctantly letting you guide him back to sit on the sofa. “I’ve not rested for a day in years, I don’t even know what to do with myself just sat around all day. How am I supposed to rest Y/N?”
“We’ll find something, I promise.”
Heechul:
You could hear Heechul shouting as you got yourself ready for the day, you followed his voice through to his computer where you saw him sat playing video games, slamming his controller.
“Don’t panic,” he sighed, feeling your eyes staring across at him. “My wrist is fine, but there’s no way I can just lay in bed all day and do nothing.”
You frowned, walking over to sit on the arm of his chair. “You don’t have to lay in bed, but gaming isn’t doing your wrist any good either.”
“I’m taking care of it,” he argued, but you knew better, as you poked his wrist gently, causing him to hiss. “Okay, maybe it does hurt a little bit still.”
Your arms wrapped around his shoulders, “I know it sucks, and I know it’s hard, but can you please just give up on the games for today whilst your wrist is sore.”
“I just wish I was at the rehearsal rather than sitting around here,” he frowned, resting into your side, “I need something to distract me from all of it.”
Your lips pressed against the top of his head, “I’m sure there’s something that we can do to distract you from work, which also won’t mean that you end up injuring your wrist more than it already is Heechul.”
“I’ll stop and focus on recovery.”
Yesung:
Your pace quickened as you watched Jungwoon at the front door, placing the leads on both of the dogs, jumping when your hand came across to quickly slam the front door shut.
“What are you doing?” He frowned, watching the sad expression on your face. “I can’t stay in here all week Y/N, I feel like I’m losing my mind.”
Your eyes looked down at the strapping still around his ankle, “you’re not fit to go for a walk, you know what the physio said, you’ll hurt yourself.”
“It’s hurting me knowing that I’m not a part of the comeback,” he admitted, staring at the floor, “that’s where I’m supposed to be, not here.”
Your hand reached out to hold onto his, “if you really want to go out, I’m coming with you. I’m not going to risk anything happening to you if you’re on your own.”
“I won’t go far,” he assured you as you grabbed your coat, “I just want a bit of fresh air, and also my Instagram needs a few more photos for me to upload.”
Your head shook, lightly hitting the top of his arm, “I’m sure Instagram can be starved for a few days whilst you recover. But you’re not allowed to start squatting or kneeling to find your angles like you usually do.”
“Now what am I supposed to do?”
Shindong:
The sound of you clearing your throat caused Donghee to tense up as he sat at his computer, hearing your footsteps walk into his office with your arms folded across your chest.
“What happened to you being told not to work for a week?” You questioned, moving across to stand behind him. “You’re supposed to be resting.”
He let go of the mouse, glancing up at you. “I’ve rested for four days, and it’s boring. I just want to do something again, and this isn’t too hard on me.”
“They told you a week,” you whispered, seeing in his eyes how much he was struggling. “You need to focus on getting healthy for the comeback again.”
His head nodded, knowing how important it was. “My knee doesn’t even hurt anymore, and I’m only sitting at my desk, I’m not moving my leg at all.”
“Let me at least get you a pillow to rest your leg on,” you sighed, walking through into the living room, returning a few moments later and passing it across to him.
His other hand reached out for you to hold onto. “I know that you worry, and I really appreciate that you do, but I can’t stay here doing nothing any longer. If my knee begins to hurt, I promise that I’ll go back to bed immediately.”
“I guess sitting here won’t do too much harm.”
Eunhyuk:
You pushed the studio door open, shaking your head as soon as you saw Hyukjae dancing around, everyone else was gone, leaving him as the last one there for the day.
“Hyukjae,” you sighed, walking into the studio as he spun around. “You promised me you were just coming here to record the song, not dance.”
Instantly, he felt guilty, pausing the music. “I’m sorry, I just had this bit of inspiration and I knew I needed to work on something before I forgot.”
“You’re injured,” you reminded him, taking a quick glance down at his leg. “How are you going to recover if you just keep on dancing?”
His shoulders shrugged, looking down at the wooden floor. “It’s hard when all I want to do is dance, I don’t know how to stop myself.”
“I know it’s hard,” you sighed, “but the more you rest now, the quicker you can come back to the studio and dance like you want to.”
His head nodded, walking across the room to turn the stereo off. “I’m sorry I went against my promise and came here to dance, I really didn’t mean to, it’s just who I am, and I really couldn’t stop myself this time.”
“I understand it’s hard, it’s alright Hyuk.”
Siwon:
You were surprised to see the other side of the bed empty as you woke up, walking around the house you saw Siwon sat in the living room, flicking through the pages of the newspaper.
“Aren’t you supposed to be on bed rest?” You quizzed, moving through the room to sit beside him. “You’re supposed to lay down to rest your leg.”
He frowned, draping his arm across your shoulders. “I’m getting fed up with just lying there, I wanted to walk around for a bit and remember the place.”
“I could have bought you the newspaper,” you pointed out to him, “I know it’s hard, but there’s a reason why they tell you to rest.”
He nodded dejectedly, leaning his head to rest against yours. “It’s been forever since I sat down and did nothing, I don’t really know how to cope right now.”
“It will get easier, the first few days of recover are always the hardest,” you reminded him, “but we’ll get you back to your usual self as quickly as we can.”
His head nodded, pressing a kiss against the side of your head. “I just want it to happen now, this is horrible, and I hate the fact I’m probably burdening you so much, you shouldn’t have to be here looking after me.”
“I want to help you, and deep down, you need me.”
Donghae:
The sound of the blender caused you to stir as you woke up, straight away you knew there was only one thing that would cause the noise, rushing straight into the kitchen to check.
“Do you want one?” Donghae asked as you raced in to see him blending one of his smoothies. “I think I made a little too much this time around.”
Your head shook in disbelief at him, “you’re supposed to be resting your wrist and not lifting things, I could have done this for you.”
“I just want a bit of independence back,” he admitted, smiling apologetically. “I don’t want to feel like I have to rely on you for every little thing.”
You took the blender from him to pour him a glass. “You have to rely on me to recover, and I really don’t mind looking after you, I actually quite enjoy it.”
“I couldn’t disturb you either this morning,” he added, bringing the glass to his lips. “You looked so peaceful sleeping, there was no way that I could wake you.”
Your head shook, poking several times into his toned tummy. “I don’t care how peaceful I look; you wake me up when you need my help otherwise it’ll be forever until you get back on stage with all the boys again.”
“I won’t do it again, I promise.”
Ryeowook:
You could hear the sounds of Ryeowook clearing his throat as you walked into your apartment at the end of your shift, following it straight away to see what was happening.
“Damn,” his voice muttered as he tried to hit the note yet again, only for his voice to falter on him. “Why can’t I just hit it?” He questioned.
You walked into the room, making him jump. “You’re supposed to be on voice rest so you can hit those notes, not singing when you shouldn’t.”
“I just miss it,” he frowned, closing his music book, “there doesn’t feel like there’s any progress in my voice, I sound just as bad as I did a few days ago.”
You sighed, walking over to give him a tight hug. “I know your miss it, and I know it’s hard. But you’ve got to think about the long term of your voice right now.”
“I never imagined a moment where I wouldn’t be able to sing,” he whispered, “right now it feels like I’ll never be able to sing again.”
Your heart broke as he laid against your chest, holding onto you tightly. “You will sing Wookie; it’s just going to take a bit of time. Sometimes you can’t rush these things, and that’s something you need to focus on right now.”
“Thank you for helping me feel better.”
Kyuhyun:
You couldn’t help but groan as your body woke you up yet again as a result of Kyuhyun shuffling beside you, desperately trying to find a way to get him, and his elbow, comfortable.
“Kyu,” you whispered, turning around to face him, “can you please let me go and get the cushion so that you can rest your elbow properly?”
He frowned, lifting his arm so it rested on top of the duvet. “I just wish this stupid thing would stop hurting, it’ll be forever until I recover at this rate.”
“It will be if you continue being stubborn and not doing as you’re told,” you scolded, resting your hand over his. “Can I go and get it?”
His head slowly nodded as you slid out of the bed to grab the pillow from the other side of the room. “Why did I have to get injured now, I’ve had months of nothing.”
“It sucks,” you stated, placing the cushion underneath his elbow. “But hopefully if you carry on as you are, you’ll be back in time to catch up for the comeback.”
His head nodded once again, instantly feeling considerably more comfortable with the cushion under his injury. “I don’t want to miss the comeback Y/N, I don’t know what I’ll do if I end up sitting on the side lines.”
“We’ll get you ready for it, I promise.”

Toxic Turner - part 6
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: this story contains signs of a toxic and manipulative relationship. also contains smut, mentions of drugs and alcohol. some scenes contain forms of abuse. read at ur own risk :)
Tumblr media
more days passed, you two were going strong without any arguments occurring. that was until alex made a comment about something completely irrelevant, causing a heated argument between one another.  "i was fucking kidding, y/n" alex yells at you, trying to calm you down as you're stood angrily in the kitchen lashing out at him. "shut the fuck up alex" you yell back at him. he said something to deeply offend you, one of your insecurities. "calm the fuck down i was joking" he says, sliding his hands around your waist to pull you close to him but you raise your eyebrows and frown in disgust as you harshly shove him away, causing him to tremble back.  he gives you a look of warning before he started yelling again.
"don't fucking touch me, asshole" you yell at him and shove him again, this only made him angry. "watch your dirty little mouth" he yells, tightly grabbing your upper arms to pin you against the nearest wall. "or what?" you say, trying to not come off as weak. you've had enough of his shit. "or what?" he laughed to mock you. "i'll fucking hurt you. now shut up and calm your ass down. it was a joke" he stops laughing immediately, talking in a serious tone as his hand gripped the back of your hair tightly. you winced at the feeling of him tugging at your roots.  he harshly lets go of you, pulling you away from the wall to shove you into the living room. he tells you to sit on the sofa and forget any of it even happened. you try to calm yourself down as you remain watching tv together, until he winds you up again.
he notices you scrolling on instagram on your phone, and sees you come across a photo of your sister and her boyfriend. "slut" he mutters, taking a sip of his beer bottle. "what did you just say?" you turn to him, shutting off your phone. he laughs and takes another sip. you yank the bottle from his mouth and force it down onto the coffee table, causing a little spillage on his clothes. he frowns his eyebrows and looks as the mess you've just made. "fuck you." you sigh, storming out of the living room, then exiting the entire house. you can't bare another minute with him, so you begin walking to your mom's house. it wasn't too far, maybe a 15 minute walk. it felt nice to get some fresh air without alex glued to your hip.
surprisingly, he didn't follow you. he doesn't usually let you go anywhere alone, but maybe he just felt generous. or hoped you'd come back. you didn't. you successfully made it to your mom's house without a single text from alex. you open the front door to the house and step in, making your way to the living room.
"hey" your sister says. she appears to be alone. "where is everyone?" you ask, nosing around the room to see nobody else. "shopping" your sister says as she's eating a family sized bag of popcorn to herself. you chuckle and sit down next to her. "what's wrong? you seem upset" she frowns at you as she notices a sad glare in your eyes. she's your sister, of course she can tell when something's up.  "nothing just.. alex" you sigh, fumbling with your fingers in your lap. you're prepared to talk about him, as long as it stays confidential.
"wanna talk about it?" she asks, placing another piece of popcorn in her mouth. you shrug and pull a confused face. you promised alex you'd never say anything to your family, but you had to let it out somehow. "he's just.. mean.. sometimes" you tremble. you don't know how to word it. "meaning?" she frowns in wonder.  "he's just angry like... all the time. he's kinda controlling but-" you begin. "woah what? he doesn't hit you, right?" she cuts you off with wide eyes. she was prepared to kill him if he touched you.
"no" you chuckle nervously. "i like the dominance i guess.. he just takes it too far." you shrug. you talk a bit more to your sister on how alex treats you. you don't share every detail, you didn't want her to think he was batshit crazy after all. you talk and talk until the front door opens a bit later.  you thought it would just be your mom arriving home, but it was too soon for her to be back. before you know it, alex walks into the living room. you sigh.
"get up" he says. you ignore him. "what do you want?" your sister asks as she's comforting you. "don't start. you, come on" alex scoffed, then pointing at you to go with him. your sister forces you to stay seated. "she doesn't want to see you, al." your sister stood up to him, facing him directly. he sighs and rolls his eyes at her. "i don't care" he says, lightly shoving your sister out the way to grab your hand and pull you up.
"don't push her" you say to alex who'd just shoved your sister aside. "i hardly touched her.. come on" alex says, yanking you away harshly and pulling you towards the door, not even giving you a choice to leave.  "alex, stop" you say, tugging back to try to stop him from pulling you out of your mom's house. luckily she wasn't there, otherwise she probably would've beaten his ass.
"get the fuck in the car" he angrily demands, forcing you into the passenger seat after exiting the house. he closes your door as your sister comes to the car, yelling at alex. the passenger door is closed, so you can't fully understand what they're saying. their yells are mumbled, you just frown as you watch the two fight back and forth.
alex walks to the drivers seat, opens his car door and yells "whatever" to your sister before closing the car door and he began driving away. "what did you say to her?" you quietly ask. he ignores you, so you turn to look at him. his expressions were angry. you sighed to yourself and looked away. you were both silent for a few more minutes until alex decided to speak.  "what did you say to her?" alex sternly asks your question, trying to remain calm before lashing out at you. "what makes you think i said anything?" you speak nervously. "by the way your sister greeted me?" alex scoffs with sarcasm, making you feel stupid by his tone of voice.
"i didn't say anything" you sadly frown, looking down at your lap, playing with your fingers to distract yourself. "you're lying" he shook his head as he lit up a cigarette whilst at a stop light. he began smoking it, and as he exhaled, the smoke blew into your face. you roll your eyes brush the smoke away with your hand.  "don't be such a pussy" he laughed at you. you ignore him and continue brushing the smoke away.
"if you told her anything about me i'll hurt you" alex said, looking at the road as he drove. you furrow your eyebrows and turn to look at the side of his face. "you'll hurt me?" you ask. he slowly nods his head without looking at you. he brings the cigarette up to his lips and inhaled, soon exhaling and blowing the smoke into your face again. you sighed and relaxed in your seat until you got home.
you both bickered back and forth for the rest of the journey, until you parked right outside your house.  you storm out of the car and head into the house. he finishes smoking his cigarette before throwing it on the floor, entering the house to close and lock the door behind him. alex calmed down for at least 20 minutes before deciding to speak to you. you were in the kitchen washing the dirty dishes from the day before. alex approached the fridge to grab a can of beer.
"of course" you mumble to yourself. "what did you just say?" he asks, standing next to you and sternly looking at the side of your face as you're stood in front of the sink. you ignore him. "i said what did you just fucking say?" he asks, forcefully grabbing a fistful of your hair, tugging it backwards to make you look at him. you gasped. "i.. said of course" you frowned at him. he scoffs with a laugh as he lets go of your hair aggressively.  "i'm not allowed to drink now?" he asks, letting go of your hair, cracking open his can of beer and taking a sip. "yes but.. drinking makes you an even bigger asshole than you are when you're sober" you roll your eyes, continuing to wash the dishes.
his behavior was nothing new to you, so you just let it fly past your head. it was a sign that you chose to ignore. “you're funny" he chuckled, shaking his head at you. you sarcastically mock his laugh. "i'm not joking" you roll your eyes, immediately being serious again. "oh you're so full of jokes today aren't you." he says sternly. he stopped laughing and turned serious too. you giggle to yourself as he places his can on the kitchen counter and grabs your arms, twisting you around to get a good look at you.
"what did you say to your sister?" he asks in a deeply angry and serious tone of voice. "i didn't say anything, jesus" you say, trying to get out of his grip but you were defenseless at this point. "i'll ask you one more time" he raises his eyebrows to give you an evil glare. you sigh and roll your eyes, briefly turning your head away, making him grab your chin with his hand to pull you back. "i cant stand her anyway. your entire family are cunts. they don't love you like i do" he said manipulatively, staring into your eyes as he spoke. his words made you gulp, making you anxious.
"i just said that.. you're mean sometimes. and.. you're controlling" you innocently stammer, trying to avoid eye contact but each time you looked away he'd pull your chin back. "good" he fakes a grin. you frown in confusion. "i am in control of you. you can't change that" he powerfully whispers in your ear as he moved closer to you, leaving your cheek with a kiss before shoving you out of his grip.
he picks up his beer can and takes a sip whilst walking away. you sigh and shake your head at yourself. you liked it but you didn't know why. you shouldn't. after finishing up with the dirty, now clean dishes, you walk into the living room and sit next to alex, hoping to put this all aside, but he doesn't let things go easily.
you see him take a sip out of his beer, he still looks angry. "are you still mad?" you ask innocently. "you always make me mad" he sighs, continuing to take another sip. you ignore him and sigh, playing with your petite fingers in your lap.  "stop it" he says, putting his drink down to grab your hand. he pulls you closer to him so that you're practically snuggling on the sofa. "i know you do that when you're nervous. why're you nervous?" he asks, changing his mood entirely. he was angry, now he's comforting you.
"you make me nervous sometimes" you roll your eyes in embarrassment. you shouldn't feel intimidated by your significant other. "why?" he asks, wanting to know truly. "you're a bit too dominant sometimes" you shrug. he chuckles a bit, shifting forward on the sofa. he grabs both of your cheeks with his hands and looks into your eyes. you put your hands on his wrists as he holds your face. "and i know you like it" he whispers, winking at you as he moves one of his hands to lightly slap your cheek twice. it's a reassurance thing.
he giggles and stands up, walking upstairs while taking his beer can with him. you watch him walk away with mild butterflies floating around in your belly. you were tempted to join him, only that would either result in heated sex or another petty argument. do you really want to risk it?

Haikyuu Hugs pt 1:
KARASUNO:
Daichi:
This man’s hugs are super, super secure
They’re not hard though, he’s definitely huggable, but the amount of muscle he possesses just allows for that perfect ~sinking~ feeling you get when you feel safe in a hug, it’s strong
The kind of hugger who loves hugging you while sitting down, so you lean over onto him and just soak up his body heat
He likes fiddling with your hair, lightly scratching your scalp as he runs his fingers through it and makes patterns on your head
You will fall asleep
The two of you will snooze, curled up together on the sofa or bed
Slightly possessive hugger too, he'll just come up behind you and hug you firmly, or have an arm around your shoulders
He also, if feeling playful, will charge at you and lift you up into a hug, both of you laughing as he kisses your face or tickles your sides, squeezing you tight to him
Sugawara:
Suga isn’t particularly muscley, but he’s not skinny either
He’s got the kind of body that is soft, not super defined abs or muscles or whatever, but he still has enough strength to pick you up while hugging you
WARMEST HUGS
You could use his stomach or chest as a pillow forever
He loves hugs anywhere, but hugging him while standing up is the best
He’ll rock you slightly from side to side and squeeze you really tight, you get into squeezing matches often to see who can hug the hardest
Hugs could last for ages, you start hugging him and the two of you will just stay there, revelling in the love in that hug
You press your cheek to his neck and he’ll kiss the top of your head
You two will always have an arm around each other or be touching somehow, a hand on your arm as you talk, legs pressing together if you’re studying, leaning on one another when watching television
He likes to sneak up behind you and hug you from behind, it’s amazing because he sort of moulds to you like a warm pillow, it’s amazing
Sometimes hums softly while hugging you
Asahi:
He’s pretty tall, and so likes to rest his chin on your head
He lightly rubs or pats your back while hugging you
You love it when he has his hair down and it tickles your face or arms, often he’ll let you plait it while he loops one arm around you
He loves to just curl up around you, he’s big enough that it’s like sitting on a warm beanbag. He’ll plop himself down on the sofa and cross his legs, plonking you in his lap and letting you snuggle into him
If he’s wearing a jacket or cardigan, he’ll wrap it around you
Can be quite awkward with instigating affection but will undoubtedly hug you if you need him to, he’ll pick up on it immediately
Casual leaning into each other’s sides when sitting down
Big hugs that are surprisingly soft, especially when he’s wearing soft jumpers
He’s rather muscled so his hugs are strong, but he’s very gentle, like he doesn’t want to accidentally snap you in half, but you still feel very secure
You like to play with his fingers, just fiddling with them slightly
Tanaka:
One armed squeezes for the win
Likes to grab you from behind when you’re sitting down and wrap his legs around you, leaning backwards to take him with you until you’re both rolling on the floor... he won’t let you go though
Will tickle you mid-hug. You’d say it ruins the moment but it doesn’t really
Hugs are always super light hearted, can cheer you up instantly
He likes to hug you while giving you little kisses or booping your nose gently
The two of you like to watch funny television programs together, all curled up, and when he guffaws with laughter you can feel his chest rumble against your back
He is a human hot water bottle and he loves it when you take advantage of that
If you ever wear his clothes, he calls it an indirect hug
Nishinoya:
Two words! Tackle. Hugs.
This boy will throw himself at you and cling to you like a monkey (especially if you’re taller than him)
Just drags you into hugs at every opportunity
His hugs are pretty quick, but they’re so frequent that it makes up for that
Likes to lie down and rest his head on your lap, talking a mile a minute about everything that’s happened in his day
Curls up like a dog and buries himself in your side, he loves it when you trace patterns on his arms
Because he’s trained so hard on his receives, his arms are like steel, and his grip when hugging you is close to crushing, but you love it
His hugs are unbelievably tight
Ennoshita:
Caring hugs, the kind given to let you know that he’s here for you
He loves holding your hand while you hug too
His hugs aren’t particularly long, short, strong, soft or tight... they’re just right for what you need at that moment
Will side hug you, but not confidently, just a casual looping of the arm around your shoulders and pulling you gently to him, perhaps with a kiss
Loves when you lean your head on his shoulder
his hugs are always the perfect temperature, they warm you up when you’re cold but are also very nice when you’re warm
Pyjama cuddles
Kinoshita:
Sometimes feels that he’s a really bad hugger and worries that his hugs disappoint you
They don’t
He’s got the perfect arms for hugging, they have a little bit of give, like pressing on the palms of someone’s hand
Sometimes the two of you dance together, he’s not great at it but he’ll pull you in after a joking spin outwards and just leave you there, turning to the music
Likes to put his hands on your shoulder blades so he can push you towards him as he hugs you
Narita:
His hugs are pretty compassionate, he won’t add anything, he’ll just hold you there
If you’re ever sad or feeling down, he’s the best person to hug because he’ll let you cry into his chest while listing everything he finds amazing about you
Little shoulder or arm squeezes when he’s passing
He’s so calm but so friendly, he’s got the perfect hug vibe, like a teddy bear
Loves to hold your face with one hand, or place his hand on the back of your head
Pulls you flush against him
You reach out your arms and he’ll dive towards them and just sweep you into a hug
Tsukishima:
Likes it if you put your head on his heart
He doesn’t hug often, not because he doesn’t like it but because he’s not comfortable with constant physical affection
He still loves it when you do hug though
He’s pretty bony, so you’d think he’d be a bad hugger, but his arms wrap perfectly around you, no stretching necessary
If he needs it, he’ll go hug you
Soft teasing when you’re leaning into each other
More of a side hugger than anything
If you’re studying together, he will roll his eyes and huff at you, telling you to get on with your work but will then sigh and pull you to his side, continuing his tutoring or work while letting his arm or side touch yours
Is more likely to hug you if you’re alone
Drapes blankets over you if you fall asleep
Chuckles and calls you needy but definitely won’t move once you’re hugging
Yamaguchi:
Yams is so precious and you know he’s ready to hug you 24/7
Ruffles your hair while blushing
Will have one arm around your waist if you’re walking
You two will snuggle up together under a blanket while watching something
Feeds you snacks if you’re lying on him, you just tap his hand and open your mouth and he’ll giggle, dropping one of whatever nibbles you’re eating into it
Squishes you to him and buries his face in your hair, he loves how it smells
He gets pretty cold sometimes and so will hug you for warmth anytime, even if you’re standing and he’s sitting
His nose is cold and you’ll get his face in your stomach, just nuzzling you slightly
Owns the best hugging clothes
Likes to talk about all the cool plays his friends made as you sit together on his bed, watching their matches, your head on his shoulder
Kageyama:
Started off pretty hopeless at hugging but quickly got the gist
Squishes your face before hugging you
Likes to put you on his lap and rest his forehead in between your shoulder blades
His breath is warm near your ear
Less full on hugs, more resting on each other
He’s a setter so he uses his fingers a lot, often fiddles with your hair or the edge of your top, sometimes drawing circles on your arm or back
Little kisses
Nose boops
You may not hug him when he’s drinking milk
He needs hugs after they lose a match as he’ll keep beating himself up about it
Tight hugger, toned stomach, he’s not a soft pillow for certain, but the hardness of his hugs are comforting
Hinata:
Literal sunshine incarnate will hug you whenever he sees you
Blows little raspberries on your cheek, neck, shoulder, arm, stomach, any part of you that he can
The two of you end up with all of your limbs entangled and decide to just rest on each other
He loves feeling your chest rise and fall when you breathe
Cheek kisses for life, practically mushes his face onto yours
He likes squeezy hugs and, though he’s pretty wiry, he’s quite soft too so you bet his hugs are top tier
Cuddles are mandatory
Another pyjama hugger, snuggling to watch a movie or chat is the best
He also rocks you from side to side, but not gently, his hugs are full of the exuberance he takes everywhere
Arms out and a pout = hug me
You sometimes do the same
You are his pillow and you’re fine with that
Likes to squeeze your waist or hips when he hugs you, loops your arms around his neck
Please play with his hair, not only is it fluffy but he’ll drop right off to sleep. A dozy Hinata will be like a sleepy cat, he lays on your legs or stomach and talks drowsily about his day and what he did
He’s strong enough to actually lift you up off of the floor slightly, squeezing you as he does so, both of you laughing
BONUS:
Ukai:
My man kind of smells like smoke but it’s so him that you don’t mind
Lazy hugs
Just an arm slung over your shoulder
Play with his hair, he adores it
Just shoves his nose into the crook between your neck and collarbone, you better believe that he’ll sigh and fall asleep within 5 mins
Sleepy cuddles
Takeda:
Hugs you when drunk... well more of a drape really, he just goes boneless and lies there, soaking up your affection
He’s a humming and swaying hugger too, like Suga
Little head pats
Links arms with you like a true gentleman
Sometimes he’ll see you after his work when he’s really tired and you’ll both just lie on a bed or sofa and squidge together while he either complains about his day or sighs, you two just hug and it’s a state of total peace

“time will be frozen for us”
most people associate something with someone.
be it the watch your father gave you, or the stuffed plushie that your mother used to play with you before you fell asleep.
yours was the sound of the door clicking open, even when it’s past midnight.
usually you would’ve rolled yourself out of bed and ran for the door like you had five seconds left to live, but the ache in your back and the mild headache throbbing inside your skull was making the regular chore too much of a hassle.
“i’m back-- oh?”
you take a deep breath, legs warm under the blanket and the night light of your room painting the walls an amber yellow. the shuffling of his feet against the floor tells you he was walking towards the bedroom where you were stuck to your bed, and you look up at him, one arm under the pillow.
he looks down at you, his blank expression quickly replaced with worry and concern when he realises you wouldn’t be in bed on any other normal day, especially not when he’s returned from his busy schedule.
“are you... okay? i was expecting you to jump on me or something when i walked through the door,” he doesn’t bother to put his bag down, his free hand dropping his keys on the nightstand next to the bed near to you.
the feverish sensation washes through you with each small breath you took as he presses his palm onto your forehead, and flips it over to press the back of his hand.
“aw... no,” he kneels down next to you and lays his head on the mattress, pulling your hand into his. “are you aching anywhere or is it just fever?”
“my back’s aching and my head’s going to kill me if it doesn’t go away soon, otherwise i’m fine.”
juyeon pouts and trails his eyes from your face to your fingers, playing with the edge of your nails while you let your fever runs its course.
“okay, well...” he pulls away, and him taking his warmth with him makes you feel slightly empty. “i’m gonna go make you some tea before i hop into the shower and--”
“noooo juyeon,” the whine was so annoyingly apparent, you couldn’t stop the laugh that ran up your throat as you reached out and grabbed his wrist.
juyeon smiles and chuckles at your whining, thumb reaching down and brushing your forehead. “no tea? what is it you need then?”
you gulp and start to press and play with the veins and knuckles on his hand. “i want to go out and see some stars.”
his face brightens, but dims back into confusion and disapproval, despite the smile never once leaving his lips. “stars? it’s one in the night, sweet pea. and on top of that, you have a fever.”
“what if i said i knew stars would make me feel better?” your other hand finds his wrist and you gently tug on it, your neck slowly aching from the need to look up at him even though you were lying down. he scans you from head to toe, and he watches you with skepticism while you fiddle with his hand.
“pleeeeaaaassseeeeeeee?” pulling up his palm to your face to let him hold your cheek, the pout on your lips only making you wonder if it was the fever talking.
you see a flash flit across his pupils, and he sighs in defeat, his heart completely giving into what you wanted instead of what you needed.
“yay,” you giggle and use his arm as a support to sit yourself up.
“but we are coming back once your ache starts to worsen and if you sneeze -- just once -- and we’ll come back immediately, okay?” he helps you off the bed and he hands you one of his sweaters to pull over your already thick, baggy shirt. “you’re lucky my schedule tomorrow isn’t in the morning.”
you bare your teeth in mischief with a smile, and the sight of him wrapping his fingers around the car and house keys makes you feel instantaneously better.
the pick-up truck was given to you by your father, and that was the thing you associated him with. he’d always wanted to get you a nicer, newer car, but all the memories you had with your parents in that old vehicle was just priceless.
you were lucky your boyfriend knew how to work his way around cars, else your father would’ve sent the pick-up truck to be dismantled.
juyeon throws some pillows and blankets into the backseat of the truck while you get in the passenger’s seat, and it wasn’t a surprise to see him climbing onto the cargo bed and spraying some disinfectant on it.
the drive to the field nearby was nothing short of juyeon telling you how his day went; and you couldn’t help but laugh at eric falling off the chair during the vlive they did in the evening.
the boys weren’t the only ones who actively teased him about it.
it wasn’t long before the pick up truck rumbled it’s way through the tall grass of the field and away from the trees that lined the roads. you were short of sticking your entire head out the window like a dog, the cold, midnight wind brushing past your skin and leaving light, delicate kisses. naturally craning your head to look upwards, you immediately start to gape and wander at the beauty of the little markings the heavens provided you.
once in the middle of the field, juyeon pulls the car into parking and turns off the engine. you walk round the car and open the backseat to take some of the pillows while he took the blankets, and the both of you throw it into the cargo bed. he picks you up and you crawl under the blankets, eyes starting to glue themselves to the breathtaking view of the sky.
the entire vehicle jerks when juyeon hops in on his own, and he crawls under the blanket with you, arm sliding under your neck and around your shoulders to hold you close to him.
your right ear presses against the left side of his chest, and his slow heartbeat becomes music to your ears, alongside the peaceful chirping of crickets in the grass all around you.
juyeon had brought you out to stargaze on your first date, in this very spot, with this very pick-up truck, and it’s been your favourite place to heal since then. you don’t remember a time coming here without juyeon either.
the scent of grass and dew filled your nostrils and the gentle breeze was making it all the more easier to breathe. you would’ve caught a cold if you were alone, but the blankets coupled with the warmth you were feeding off juyeon was enough to make you forget about your fever.
“if you’re uncomfortable or you feel your fever getting worse, we’re going home, alright?”
he whispers into your hair and pecks you on the crown of your head, his free arm reaching behind his head to prop it up atop the pillow. your left hand circles around his stomach, and your legs start to tangle with each other’s under the blanket.
“i could totally sleep right now,” you smile into the material of his hoodie, and you snuggle into his comfort as if you weren’t already glued to him like tape.
“it’ll be really funny if we both fall asleep here and we’ll get cooked by the morning sun when we wake up tomorrow.”
you laugh at his comment, and your eyes automatically open again to revel in the gorgeous sight of faraway planets and stars.
you stay quiet against him for how long, you weren’t sure. time always seemed to fly past like it was nothing when you were with him. though it made you sad sometimes, to know that every second couldn’t be pulled into eternity, but you also knew that juyeon must’ve been someone special for you to feel so happy with, you couldn’t feel the effects of time.
his gentle fiddling with your hair and circling on your shoulder drives you further into bliss, the scent of him starting to mix with the calming dewy scent of nature.
if only this really could be your eternity. the things you’d do to drag this moment out forever.
time did it’s job and continued running relentlessly, and juyeon squeezes your shoulder to tell you that it was now three, and you needed to get home to rest up properly.
you were reluctant at first, but wherever juyeon was, it would be home to you.
juyeon lets you shower first, so by the time he was in bed with you, your spirit was already half gone into the wonderland of dreams and cotton candy.
instinctively, you lay your head on his chest again, palm flat right next to your nose and his arm absorbs the warmth of your neck, fingers resting on the skin of your shoulder.
“are you feeling better though? after seeing the stars?” his voice rumbles through his chest, and you grin to yourself upon knowing that you heard it through his skin.
“i don’t need to see stars to feel better, i just had to find an excuse so the both of us won’t pass out so early.”
you feel him shift his head and a small laugh exposes itself as little bursts of air into the crown of your head.
“aw,” he cooes, kissing you on the forehead. “i’m sorry i’ve been so busy these few weeks. my schedule will definitely lighten up in a month or so, so please bear with me, would you?”
you hear the apologetic tone in his voice, and it breaks you a little. angling your head upwards, you push yourself up with enough effort to peck him on the lips for comfort.
“i’ll wait for you no matter how long it takes,” you return to your previous position and snuggle even harder if it was possible. “even if it takes a million years.”
his left hand finds the one that was on his chest and he interlocks his fingers between yours, the sensation drilling warmth and bliss throughout your entire nervous system.
“if that’s your way of saying ‘i love you’, then i love you too.”

More Than Allies
Prompt: If you ever consider writing for the Sweetheart AU again (it's completely ok if not) I'd love love love to see a time where Frisk was the one to comfort Sans by being their pure, adorable self; there's just something lovely to me about the thought of Frisk realising Sans is sad and knowing exactly how to help him - anon
DISCLAIMER: This is part of a Flowerfell!AU I've got on my Ao3. I'm not posting the rest of them on here because that would take too much time and I ain't about to clog up y'all's dashes with that shit. SO imma link to this work AND the series on Ao3 so y'all know where this fits
Read THIS on Ao3
Sweetheart series
Warnings: this is a flowerfell!au, where Frisk has flowers growing out of them, so slight warning for body horror but nothing graphic
Pairings: all gen
Word Count: 1650
Patching up wounds is one thing. So is keeping someone alive.
But making them happy?
Whoever invented the concept of snow seriously needed their head dunked in a bucket of the stuff. For at least a day. When they could deal with having cold shit shoved into places it shouldn’t be shoved for hours on end, then they could say that they made a good decision.
Sans continues to grumble to himself as he trudges back through Snowdin. Grillby’s place isn’t inconspicuous enough right now, seeing as he just spent most of the night there looking after the child.
“you better be keeping ‘em alive in there,” Sans mutters, turning the corner to make it to the edge of the town, “or else i swear, grillbz…”
He doesn’t bother finishing the threat. He knows the fire monster would burn the entire fucking town to the ground before letting harm come to someone under his protection. Hell, Sans has seen that explosive rage once or twice. He’s not very keen on seeing it again, especially not if he’s on the wrong side of it.
As he walks, his hand finds its way into his pocket, absentmindedly fiddling with one of the bandaid wrappers.
Shit.
He swerves around one of the icebergs—flipping off the wolf as he did so, he received a threatening snarl for his troubles—and hustles down the path in the bottom of Waterfall. The mushrooms blink innocently as he tromps down the path, finally making it to Temmie Village.
One of the Temmies looks up at him and snarls.
“yeah, yeah,” Sans grumbles, “i just got business with the shop. keep your temmie flakes in order.”
Luckily the Temmies still seem to hate the red glow of his eye. The rest of them part easily as he strides into the shop. The cardboard box hiding the real shop front is still soggy and mold-eaten, much like the Temmie behind it. It glowers at him as he pulls out the payment.
“wouldn’t kill you to keep it a little less decrepit.” He glances around at the artfully arranged trophies on the walls. “though it might make it harder to excuse not cleaning your shit.”
The Temmie just glares at him. Sans shrugs, the absence of the child cold at his side.
“just sayin’.”
The Temmie grumbles something Sans doesn’t understand as it puts the package on the counter. Sans nods and turns to go, thanks forgone. He’d paid. And the Temmies tended to get word after dark anyway, so he’s better off just hurrying back to the child.
‘Child.’ Yeesh, he sounds so fucking formal.
Well, Sans thinks as he scrambles into the cave and restocks the first-aid kit, death does have a way of making things sound really fucking formal.
The kid could’ve died.
Yeah, yeah, he fucking knows, they’ve died too many fucking times already. The flowers aren’t going away any time soon and they’re hurting. But that’s different. It’s different watching them die.
Sans growls as he forces one of the long gauze strips into the plastic box. The hinges wheeze and groan in protest as he finally jams the thing shut again and stuffs it under his coat. He’s been away too long. He’s out of practice.
Not at killing motherfuckers, no, he’s got that down pat. But caring.
Shit, is he even doing this right? The kid’s practically glued to his side day in and day out, partially at his bidding but mostly because the kid just decided his hoodie is perfect to cling to. It’s no different than that damn stick they won’t fucking leave behind. It’s like another limb or something.
…and he would be lying if he said the kid didn’t feel like another limb too.
Sans grits his teeth as he makes it to the shortcut chamber. He pulls his phone out of his pocket and taps out a quick message.
me: package in tow
hothead: Too many customers wait for 22h00
Sans sighs and slumps back down. There are just not enough hours in the goddamn day, apparently. He’s got a bone to pick with whoever invented time keeping the way it is too. Seriously. Sometimes it really got under his non-existent skin.
“time is fake,” he grumbles to himself, hand going to his pocket again, “so fake.”
He has to stifle a wince when the expected tug on his sleeve doesn’t come.
When did he get so fucking attached?
…okay, listen, when a kid growing fucking flowers out of them decides they’re your friend now, they’re your friend now. Sans doesn’t make the fucking rules, he just follows them.
That doesn’t mean he knows what he’s doing.
The kid seems to remember what happens when they die. They always come back looking a little different—more flowers—but they seem to know what’s going on. Of course, that doesn’t mean Sans always knows what’s going on, but he knows enough to recognize the way they seem a little more sure of themselves. Which is good; that means they won’t be walking defenseless into any big shit storm, but that also means that if he fucks up, they’ll remember.
That’s the part he’s worried about.
He’s been doing okay…hasn’t he? He remembers they like Echo Flowers, they like the quiet burble of Waterfall, he always keeps an extra blanket at his Sentry stations, he keeps them the fuck away from his brother, and they…they like his voice.
He talks to them when he can. They seem to like being able to hold onto him—which, okay, he gets. He can’t imagine not being able to see anything, much less be a kid and have to rely completely on someone who might just kill you.
Unbidden, a bone forms in his hand. He growls and puts it away.
No. Never.
A buzz from his pocket startles him out of his thoughts. Grillby informs him he’s good to come over and he doesn’t waste another second before teleporting straight to the fire monster’s backdoor.
“Good,” Grillby mutters, already striding upstairs, “they’re almost awake.”
“any changes in their condition?”
“They’re almost healed. They’ll make a full recovery. Well…” Grillby trails off as he sits back down in the chair. “Except for…”
Grillby doesn’t need to finish. Sans’s SOUL clenches as he looks at the kid lying on the couch. They look so…so…
…fragile.
The flowers haven’t grown anymore, at least not that he can see. As he watches, a few of the petals catch the very edge of Grillby’s flames and the purple light makes them look almost white.
“how long’ve they been asleep now,” he mutters, “twelve hours?”
“Nearly.”
Sans mutters a curse and scratches the back of his skull. If they don’t wake up soon…
No sooner does the thought cross his mind—and get swatted away with the force of a blaster—the kid starts to shift on the couch.
“easy, sweetheart,” he says, worry growing in the pit of his chest as he watches them shift, “hey, kid. kid.”
“They’re having a nightmare?”
Sans bites back another curse and rushes forward. “hey, hey, sweetheart, it’s alright, i’m here.”
As soon as he gets closer, his chest starts to glow a soft white. Grillby stifles a noise of surprise as the kid reaches up for him, wrapping their hands around the lapels of his hoodie and pulling. Sans eases himself down onto the floor next to the couch and lets them bury their face in the fluffy lining of the hood.
“Shh, shh, sweetheart,” he rumbles, his hand coming up to steady them, “it’s okay, nothing’s gonna hurt you, ’s just me and grillbz here, we ain’t going anywhere.”
There’s a soft sigh against his clavicle and then clumsy signs appear in front of his sockets.
“you want me to talk to you, sweetheart?” A little nod. “uh, okay. there’s a, uh, a new cave in waterfall we should check out.”
Their little hands settle in his hoodie as he murmurs to them, their head starting to loll against his shoulder. He hears Grillby stand up and come over as well, hushing the kid’s confusion with a quick explanation that it’s okay, they won’t be hurt, Grillby just needs to check their wound.
The kid just tugs on their sleeve. They butt their head lightly against Sans’s and slowly reach out.
“what, you wanna hold my hand, kid?” Fingers twine with his. “okay, then.”
Grillby chuckles over his shoulder only for it to choke off when the kid grabs for his hand too.
Sans laughs. “guess you’re stuck now too.”
“…worse fates I can imagine.”
There’s another little tug on his SOUL. He frowns, looking back at the kid’s face, only to see their head aimed at the spot on his chest where his SOUL would appear. Then they lean forward and—
“Wow,” Grillby chuckles again, “you’re in this bad.”
Sans, cheeks still warm and bright red from the kiss pressed to his forehead, just stares. The kid seems to be satisfied with the light mortification they’ve just caused. Nodding proudly to themselves, they settle back on the couch. One hand firmly in Sans’s, one hand in Grillby’s. Without being prompted, Sans cards his free hand through their hair, smiling as they let out a hushed sigh, head flopping back onto the pillow.
“They trust you,” Grillby says, something like awe in his voice, “they really trust you.”
“…seems so.”
And yet, even though Sans will readily admit he has no idea what he’s doing still, he wouldn’t give it up for all the hot dogs in the multiverse.

Starcrossed (Dabi x Reader)
[Summary: Being a hero makes dating a little hard. Most heroes either don’t do committed relationships or end up in pretty forced, unhealthy ones. You figured you’d be alone until you either died or retired until you fell in love with a villain.
Warnings: Swearing, alcohol mention, injuries, blood, knives, Endeavor, not canon]
It was a pretty boring day when you met him, to be honest. A regular patrol. You were on your own since your agency was still pretty small and you only had two sidekicks, who you didn’t want to be alone on the streets. You were a bit protective of them. You were a relatively young hero, but you knew that you could hold your own. You trusted them, but they were still just sidekicks. They were your responsibility, and you took that pretty seriously.
Patrols were usually the most boring part of your job. Meet a few civilians. Take a few pictures. Smile and nod while they talked about other heroes. You weren’t very well known, so you didn’t exactly have a very big fanbase of your own. It was getting a little old having to explain that, no, you weren’t friends with All Might. That even the top heroes that you did know weren’t really your friends, and that you just worked together. That, no, you couldn’t say hi to Hawks for them. And no, you weren’t going to give Midnight their number.
You were on your way back to your office and it was starting to get dark. You were always a little more cautious when it started to get dark. Your quirk was shadow-based so it’s a little harder to use at night when there aren’t really that many shadows. It was during one of your overly cautious glances into the alleys that you noticed the bright blue eyes watching you. They looked like Endeavor’s, but you knew that there was someone a little more dangerous with those eyes to keep watch for. And the shining of the staples signaled that you were right in your second guess. The League of Villains was in your section of the city. Dabi was in your section of the city. Shit.
He broke the eye contact that you had with him to turn on his heel, heading into the alley that he had been lingering in. It took you a second before you thought to follow. You jump into a shadow, hoping to follow a little more stealthily, using your quirk. Manipulating the shadows to cover you so that you wouldn’t be seen.
“You know that I know you’re following me, right?” He sighed as you reached a secluded section of the alley, “It’s cute that you’re trying though.”
“What are you here for?” You asked, stepping out of the shadows.
“Not ‘work’ if that’s what you’re worried about, sweetheart,” His voice was almost a little amused, despite the fact that he seemed so bored with everything. Something about his voice made you pretty sure that if you were in a different situation, you’d swoon a bit, “Look, Doll, I’m not in the mood to fight you, so maybe we can just both go on our way. I won’t cause you any trouble. Tonight, at least.”
“And why would I let you go? Do you realize exactly how much of a wanted man you are?” Why hadn’t you attacked him yet? Tried to restrain him in any way? Were you just waiting for him to get the drop on you?
“Aren’t you bored?”
“Bored?” What the hell kind of game was he playing?
“All the posing and smiling and playing nice while everyone ignores you for people like Endeavor?” His voice held a special brand of venom for the flame hero, “It’s gotta get exhausting. How do you play nice all the time? Don’t you just want to do something bad?”
“I’m working my way up,” Why were you indulging him? You didn’t have to answer his questions.
“Working your way up? I’ve seen you on the news. You genuinely help people. I’ve seen you on those debates trying to advocate for counseling for villains,” He rolled his eyes, “They’ll never actually let you rise in the rankings.”
You knew that. You’ve gotten enough “subtle” threats from the commission to figure that out. But why did he care? “What’s it to you anyway?”
“You know, this may sound weird,” He finally looked you in the eyes, that shade of blue looked so good on him, “I kinda like you.”
- - - - -
You let him go that night. And you had been seeing him more and more since then. And every time, as long as he promised not to cause any trouble in your area of town, you’d let him go. You had started to actually look forward to your talks. And you had started to worry when you went too long without seeing him.
Eventually, he had started coming to your apartment. It was safer than having discussions out in the open. You’d just come home from a night of patrols and find him half-asleep on the couch of your apartment.
One night you came home a little later than usual. One of the other agencies across town had insisted on a meeting since they had been having a bit of trouble with a small gang of new villains that they had a feeling was crashing in your turf. When you walked in the door you were greeted by the usual shine of the hallway light reflecting off of his staples, but you were missing his blue eyes. Usually, by then you’d already hear some sort of snarky greeting, but everything was quiet.
You flipped in the light to see him, lying on the couch, slumped over with his usual white shirt slowly turning more and more red.
“For fuck’s sake, Dabi,” you say, rushing over to crunch next to where he was sitting, “What the hell happened.”
He groaned and opened his eyes, smirking as he looked at you, “You’re pretty cute when you’re worried.”
“That’s not an answer.”
“A mission went bad,” He said, trying to sit up, only for you to push him back down, “Boss told us to lay low for a bit and I couldn’t think of anywhere else to go.”
You sighed and left to grab the first-aid kit. You knew there was no way he could go to the hospital, but you also weren’t about to let him bleed out on your couch. No matter how much of an idiot he could be sometimes, “Take your shirt off.”
“That’s moving a little fast there, dollface.”
“Shut the hell up and let me make sure you don’t die,” You quipped back, rolling his eyes, “Do you need some booze or can you handle the pain?”
“I’m a big kid, doll,” He groaned, throwing the torn shirt on the floor and the jacket on the couch next to him.
He laid back as you brought all the equipment over. He had a pretty decent gash across his chest. It was deep, but not too deep for you to deal with. It’d leave a scar. But considering the amount scars he already had painted across his body, you figured he wouldn’t mind all that much.
“This might burn a little,” you say, before pouring a little bit of hydrogen peroxide on the cut. He didn’t even flinch. You supposed he was used to pain enough that this was nothing. It honestly made you sad to think about all of the pain he must have been through in his life.
You pulled out one of your sanitized needles that you kept in the kit and a bit of surgical thread that you had convinced a doctor friend of yours to give you for free. You were stitching yourself up a lot, and you weren’t exactly proud of having to buy medical supplies that often. At least the practice was coming in handy.
It took you about an hour to sew him all up, and another few minutes to get him bandaged up. At least he was cooperative. It was actually a lot neater than you expected. Hopefully, it would heal alright.
“You’re staying here for the next week at least,” You command. You’d have to make sure that no one came over and that all of your blinds were closed the entire time, but you were sure you could pull it off. You had to make sure that his stitches didn’t break and that the cut didn’t get infected.
“Stay where, darling, the couch? It’s not exactly comfortable,” He chuckled, obviously trying to lighten the mood. You were starting to be able to read him a bit better. It always made him uncomfortable when you cared about him. He wasn’t used to anyone trying to protect him, so he didn’t know how to handle it. You just had to insist.
“No, idiot. You take the bed. I’m not even home often enough to need it, I’ll take the couch.”
“Oh, come on, doll. I may be a villain, but I’m not stealing your bed after you sew me up. I don’t need charity.”
“Fine, then we’ll share, you big baby.”
You could see him think about. You wondered if he’d refuse, “Alright, one condition, though,” He said, the usual joking tone in his voice, “Kiss me.”
You know he didn’t actually expect it. He was teasing you, as he often did. But you did. You kissed him. You didn’t think you would, but you did. His lips were rough, and the staples that touched the sides of your mouths were surprisingly cold. You’d think that his body heat would warm them up, but apparently not. It was new, but you wouldn’t say it was bad. It definitely wasn’t bad.
He froze at first, not expecting you to actually kiss him. You took it to mean that he didn’t actually want you to kiss him, and started to pull away. However, before you could actually pull away too far from the kiss, you felt a hand on the back of your head, tangling in your hair and pushing you back into the kiss. It was rough, but somehow also sweet. He tasted a bit like ash and cigarettes and whiskey and you wondered if he always tasted like that. And you wondered why you cared what he always tasted like.
Eventually, you had to pull back for air. He looked at you with his fiery blue eyes, a little glazed over, and pupils blown out, and you felt your heart skip a beat. He was so pretty. His eyes and his hair. Even the map of scars painting rivers and caverns across the landscape of his body. Fuck. You were hopeless. You had to be the worst hero in the world to fall in love with a villain. But you wouldn’t change it.
“I think I definitely have to take you up on that offer to share a bed now, honey,” He winked at you, and you led him to your room.
- - - - -
You and Dabi had been together in secret for months when you got the call from Endeavor. It was usual for a high ranking hero to talk to the lower running heroes if they were going to be doing an operation in their district. Especially if their quirk could be helpful. And your quirk was plenty helpful in fights.
He wanted you to help him with stopping a villain attack on a local hero agency. Apparently, one of the other agencies in town had intercepted some of the League of Villains’ goons and had confiscated some sort of new weapon that they had been carrying. Apparently the League wanted it back. And apparently they were sending some people to get it that night. And you’d have to be an idiot to throw away the career-boosting move of helping the now number one hero help take down some of Japan’s Most Wanted. You just hoped you wouldn’t have to face Dabi.
Of course, your hopes were quickly dashed when your eyes met the fiery blue ones that you had gotten so well acquainted with. You hoped he understood why you were on opposing sides, but you didn’t get a chance to even try to read him before Endeavor throw a fireblast directly at him. You froze for just a moment. Just long even to end up with a knife in your side, thanks to the little serial killer that they had adopted, named Himiko Toga.
“Shit,” You didn’t want to fight her, either. She was still a kid. She was in her high school uniform. Obviously she needed help, and you didn’t understand how anyone could possibly fight her full force without guilt. But you needed to.
She lunged at you, a grin on her face and a new knife in her hand. You quickly dodged and used the shadows to push her back. It was getting pretty dark, so your quirk was kind of weak at the moment.
It was a struggle. She was faster than you, especially since you already had a knife wedged between your ribs. You were managing, though. At least, well enough. You were starting to get a bit dizzy, but you had managed to keep her from getting any more hits in.
About ten minutes into the fight things started heating up. Literally. Dabi and Endeavor had been facing off against each other. You had a feeling there was some sort of history there, but you had never really asked Dabi. You had a feeling he couldn’t really tell you without revealing a ton of his past. And he was pretty private about that.
Either way, the two of them were facing off without much thought about anyone else. Before you knew it, flames had engulfed most of the building that you were fighting in. The mix of blue and orange flames showed that neither one of them was holding back. But it was getting hard for the rest of you to continue fighting. The flames were starting to lap at your legs and your uniform was starting to get a little singed.
Just before Toga could lunge at you again, somehow ignoring all of the fire, a warp gate appeared. It was a signature of Kurogiri, meaning it was time for the League to leave. Either they got what they wanted, or they were running out of time. You couldn’t help but hope Dabi would just leave.
“Oh,” Toga sounded a little disappointed, “It looks like it’s time to go. And I was actually having some fun.”
She took off and you didn’t even try to stop her. Your legs were starting to give out. You had lost a lot of blood. You were pretty sure you couldn’t even chase her if you tried. You just watched as the Vanguard Action Squad of the League of Villains started to flee. And Dabi didn’t.
You watched as he and Endeavor continue to face off while his friends tried to pull him away. They continued to throw flames at each other for a good two minutes until you noticed something off with Endeavor. He was charging up for a “Hellfire Storm”, which he didn’t use all that often. He was going to do anything to capture Dabi. Even if it meant killing him.
Before you could even think about it, you activated your quirk and jumped into the shadow right in front of Dabi. Just as Endeavor fired off his attack, you used your quirk to create a bubble around you and Dabi. You were straining your quirk, that was for sure. And you had no clue how long you’d be able to hold out, but hopefully longer than Endeavor.
Your nose started bleeding and the shield you created started falling apart. There were cracks and holes where the flames were starting to peak through, but you weren’t about to give up. Dabi was frozen behind you as this all went down. You just hoped he’d be able to get out once you dropped the shield.
Eventually, Endeavor let up. It felt like hours, but you were sure it wasn’t nearly that long. Your brain was pretty fuzzy and your vision was starting to go black. As you dropped the bubble, your legs finally gave out. The last thing you registered before the world went black was a pair of arms wrapping around you.
- - - - -
You woke up what you were pretty sure was a few days later. Your limbs were sore and your head was still fuzzy. You were so goddamn thirsty. And you weren’t in your apartment. Where were you exactly?
“Thank god, you finally woke up,” You heard next to you. It was a familiar voice, though it held a whole lot more relief than you were used to, “I thought you died on me.”
“This was revenge for you bleeding all over my couch,” you rasped, “Can you get me some water or something?”
“Already ahead of you,” He handed you a glass of water. You took a sip, realizing just how thirsty you were. Your throat was so sore. How long had you been out?
“Alright, update me,” You said once you set the glass down, “I have a feeling there’s a lot I need to know.”
“You mean like how you’re now a wanted villain? Or how I got Shiggy to let you stay as long as you promise not to turn any of us in.”
Wanted villain, huh? It was kind of funny. You had a feeling you got more news coverage from just that than you ever had as a hero. To be honest, you feel like you might do more good as a villain too.
“Welcome to the League, (Y/n),” He said, “If you’ll join, that is.”
[Might do a part two if requested?]

Love Is You - chapter 5
a/n: The chapter moodboards don’t end up how i want them to be… i can find better pics but i don’t wanna change my face claims for the characters + since they are in their 50s in the story, it is even harder. Also i wanna tell the face claims i use for the characters. Scarlett: Isabelle Huppert, Sirius: mostly Gary Oldman but sometimes Johnny Depp, Severus: Alan Rickman.
Tumblr media
It was Friday and Carina hasn't heard anything from her dad whole week. She was worried about him because he was staying all alone. Carina decided to go to Remus's room to ask him if he got any letters from her dad. She knocked on his door and second later heard. "Come in".
"Carina hi! How are you doing?" He smiled softly at his goddaughter.
"Hey uncle Rem. I had better days to be honest." She sighed and sat down.
"Do you want to talk?"
She nodded. "It has been so hard for me since the divorce. I am trying to keep it together for mum but... it is just too much..." her eyes were full of unshed tears.
Remus poured some tea for her and handed her some chocolate while sitting next to his goddaughter.
"If crying will relieve you, you can cry. I understand that it is not easy for you and also you have to take care of your mum." He rubbed her back.
"Seeing mum like this hurting me so much. I am scared that she will do something to herself..."
"Shhhh Carina, she won't do that. If i know Scar, she doesn't hurt herself for someone's stupid act."
"I would say that too in the past but she doesn't act like herself lately."
"She will feel better soon, everything is just so new right now. She wasn't ready for any of these stuffs."
"Me neither." Carina sighed. "Thank you for being there for us."
Remus hugged her and kissed her head "You don't need to thank me, i will always be there for you all."
"Actually, i came here to ask you about dad, have you ever heard from him? He didn't reply my letters and i started to worry."
Remus shook his head "No i haven't, actually i was thinking to go and check on him after my last period."
"I'd like to come with you and spend the weekend with him. I am still angry with him, but he needs someone too..."
"That would be nice but what about your mum? Can she stay alone?"
"She doesn't get out of the room if i don't force her to do so, i guess she will be fine and i can ask professor Snape to check on her about the pills."
"To Snape?"
"Yeah, it turned out they were classmates and mum talks to him, not much but still."
"Yeah, they were... I need to go to my class Carina, meet me here after it okay? Then we can go."
"Yeah sure, see you later."
They both left the room; Remus went to his classroom and Carina headed to the potions class. Snape was marking some quiz papers.
"Hello professor."
"Hello." He kept marking.
"Can i ask a favour from you, sir?"
He nodded while still marking a paper.
"I need to see my dad today and i am planning to spend the weekend with him and professor Lupin. Mum will stay here, could you please check on her occasionally?" She sighed "I know i am boring you with all my requests lately but some serious family issues are going on... i am sorry."
He put his quill down and looked at her.
"You don't need apologize Carina. I will check on her, do i need to know anything that she supposed to do or else?"
"Thank you so much professor, that means a lot to me. Umm she has to take her pills after the breakfast and the dinner, and she shouldn't have any alcohol. But she is not willing to do any of these..."
"Okay, i will make sure she eats and takes her pills."
"Thank you very much, i will return the favour." Then Carina left to pack her stuff for the weekend and let her mum know.
Carina and Remus arrived at Carina's family house. She opened the door and walked in, strong alcohol and cigarette scents welcomed them.
"Dad?"
She called while Remus was picking up some empty beer bottles. They found him on the floor lying with photo albums.
"Dad!? Dad can you hear me?" Carina shook him worriedly.
Sirius grunted and mumbled obscure things. Remus helped him to sit.
"Sirius? Are you alright buddy?"
He shook his head and tried to reach the wine bottle.
"No more alcohol Sirius, you need to pick yourself up. Drinking won't change anything. Carina can you make a strong coffee for him?"
Carina just nodded and went to the kitchen. She wasn't expecting her dad to be that much bad, she was shaken by it.
"At least do it for your kids, Carina is miserable between you and Scarlett. You don't think yourself but think about your daughter." Remus whispered angrily.
He just nodded lightly when Carina was back with the coffee.
"Here, dad."
"Thanks, my little star." He smiled to her.
"We will spend the weekend with you. We can do whatever you want."
"I don't know what you want Padfoot but after the coffee you have to take a shower. You stink." Remus made a funny face.
Carina giggled. "Uncle Rem is right daddy."
"Fine, i will." Sirius drank his coffee slowly. He wanted to ask about Scarlett but then he remembered the things Remus just said and decided not to make his daughter more stressed and sadder about the situation, wanted to let her to breathe a little bit.
Scarlett was curling up on the bed and crying. She was trying to hold her tears back when Carina was around but actually all she wanted to do was cry her heart out. The scene she saw in their bedroom, the things Arabelle said and Sirius were on her mind on replay. She couldn't stop thinking about these and they were killing her softly. Then she heard a knock on the door but she ignored it. But the person behind the door was persistent and kept knocking until she answered it. Professor Snape was standing there. He immediately understood that she was crying, her cheeks were still wet from the tears and her eyes were red.
"Are you okay?" He asked but he knew it was such a stupid question and the answer was clear.
Scarlett ignored the question.
"Carina is not here and won't be till the Sunday night." She was about to close the door but he held it. She was surprised by that.
"I know. Did you have dinner?"
"No?"
"Do you want to join me tonight?"
"Why are you doing that? Carina wanted that didn't she? You don't need to babysit me."
"I am not doing that because she told me to. I don't know what you are going through but i want to help. So will you join me for dinner? No is not an option."
She sighed and gave in. "Fine. But i am not eating with the crowd."
"Okay, just you and me. I can bring some food here, is it okay?"
She nodded.
"Any food requests?"
"No but can you bring some wine?"
"No i can't, sorry."
He went to the kitchens and got some food for them. Meanwhile Scarlett washed her face and cleaned the table a bit. Snape walked in with the foods since she left the door ajar.
"Cheese tortellini and raspberry cheesecake, good?" Severus knew she loves these two so he hoped she would eat them.
"Good, thank you." She sat down. "Sorry about my nightgown, since i don't go anywhere i don't change it."
"It is fine by me, don't worry."
They ate in silence, but it was not an awkward silence though. Then Scarlett took her pills before he said anything.
"What are those pills for?" He asked in concern.
"They are supposed to make me less depressed and less anxious but apparently not working." She let out a nervous laugh.
"If you want to talk, i am here."
She needed to talk to someone desperately since she couldn't talk to Carina because she was already dealing with her shit for days and Scarlett didn't want to make her even more sad. But she wasn't sure if Snape was the right person to talk about this situation. He was seeing that she was struggling and tearing up.
"I need to stay alone, please..."
"It is okay, i will see you in the morning okay?" He stood up and picked up the dishes.
"Okay. Thank you."
"Good night."
Severus smiled softly and left. But all he wanted to do was stay and comfort her. He could tell that she was in so much pain but refusing to share, classic Scarlett.

Mine to Hold (Bucky Barnes ABO)
Bucky comes back from Wakanda and you feel different around him. What's your solution? Avoid him until it goes away. This doesn't go over well with him.
Sometimes, on days like today, you find yourself staring out over your surroundings and wondering: how exactly did you get here? When people you where you work, you would answer “Stark Industries,” and nothing more. When those same people inquired who you work for, they would receive a tight-lipped smile, and perhaps a “Tony Stark,” laced with sarcasm. After all, how could you explain to the public that you worked for the Avengers? It was much easier and less exasperating to give a little white lie. You couldn’t even begin to imagine the hoards of fans who would follow you to work or try to convince you to slip them a photo of a sleeping Thor.
You'd long forgotten how you had ended up in this position, but you couldn’t imagine working anywhere else. You spent most of your time working with Dr. Banner, helping in the lab, and performing first aid on missions. Of course, you'd needed combat training, which the team was more than happy to provide. You had been afraid when you presented as an Omega a few years back, but nothing changed in the tower dynamic. No one treated you as if you were a fragile little doll, ready to break with the slightest touch.
You felt as though you were going against your biology and stepping out of the pack mentality-- and hell if it wasn’t thrilling. However, the doting and motherly nature of the Omega would often rear its head in regards to your team. The longer you worked with everyone, the more protective you felt over them. You would flit about nervously if one of them was on a dangerous mission, and launch a frenzy of panicked questions while checking them for injuries upon their return. It wasn’t too bad with the Alphas (Natasha, Steve, and Thor), but you couldn’t stop yourself from worrying over Clint and Bruce (Betas), and Tony who was the only other Omega in the tower. When Peter Parker began to visit, You'd guarded him almost immediately. You would coo over him and dote on the boy, and he would be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy it. Peter had yet to emerge into a class, but You secretly hoped he would be an Omega like you and Tony. The tower was constantly full of competing Alpha pheromones and it was very overwhelming at times.
Yes, it was times like these where you looked at your current life and smile. You felt so at home here, and the Avengers were nothing more than family to you.
You walk into the living room and laugh softly at the group that had congregated in front of the TV. Tony was showing Thor the movie Wall-E, and the others had most likely filed in one by one and sat down. There were also times when you felt like a glorified babysitter. You step down into the living room, heels clicking against the hardwood floor. In addition to working the med-bay on missions, you often helped Pepper with the more official side of Stark Industries. You couldn't help but feel bad for the overworked Beta and assisted her as often as you could. She'd learned rather quickly that Tony listened to you more than her anyways.
“Tony?” You ask quietly. You rest your hand on his shoulder to get his attention.
Tony’s head lulls back, his eyes still trained on the cartoon robot in front of him. You roll your eyes and snort.
“You have a meeting today at 6:00? New York Times interview, remember?”
Tony made a strangled heave as if signaling to you that he didn’t want to go. “I know you don’t want to, but this is the one we’ve rescheduled three times already,” you point out. Tony groans as his head falls back to hit the couch. “Can’t they find some other superhero to interview? How about Ant-man? He has nothing better to do,” Tony offered. You shake your head and sigh. “I’m absolutely telling Henry you said that, and they specifically want to do an article on Iron man,” you remind him.
Tony was about to protest when F.R.I.D.A.Y interrupts. “Sir? James Barnes is at the entrance.” You can't help the fluttering in your stomach as you resist the urge to look at the elevator. Bucky is back?
Tony shot up off the couch grinning ear to ear. “Oh darn! I forgot our dear little soldier's mission ended this week! Guess we’ll have to cancel that appointment?” He feigned disappointment, shooting you a pleading look. You glare at him but eventually give in with a sigh. “You can explain to Pepper why I’m canceling. I’m not taking the fall for this one,” you mutter and pull out your phone. Tony cheered as he sauntered out of the room, presumably to greet the new guest. You hold your phone up to your ear and crane your neck as subtly as you can manage to try to catch a glimpse of the winter soldier. "Hello?" Pepper's voice carries through the speaker, catching you off guard.
"Oh! Hey, Pepper, sorry if I'm interrupting," you apologize quickly. "Not at all. Is something going on?" Pepper asks. You don't usually call her unless there's bad news coming. You spare a glance over to the elevators. "Yes, I'm afraid Tony is very adamant about not going to the New York Times interview today," you explain. Pepper makes a strangled sort of noise over the phone. Uh oh, she's really pissed. "And why exactly does Tony not want to go this time?" Pepper asks, trying to mask the edge to her tone.
Before you can answer, Tony strolls back into the living room with a very shy brunette in tow. Nat and Steve are the first to welcome him back. You feel your throat clench as you stare at him. To say Bucky was an attractive man would be a deplorable understatement. While his body language was very closed off and introverted, he dripped Alpha pheromones. Stupid Omega brain, you think to yourself. You and Bucky were fairly good friends, you'd say. You two would sit in comfortable silence with each other when he wasn't on missions, reading books or making small talk. You knew Bucky was put off by the social ranks, and you were scared for a while that he would avoid you after you presented an Omega. But your relationship stayed fairly stable much to your delight.
When Bucky's scent filled your nostrils and you felt a soothing calm wash over you. He smells like freshly ground coffee, cinnamon, and something earthy- like sage or myrrh. As embarrassing as it was to admit, his smell made you feel grounded and safe. "Hello?" Pepper wondered.
"Right! Sorry, Pepper, actually Tony is here now if you'd like to speak with him," you offer, turning back towards him. Tony blanched and began to shake his head vigorously. You grin deviously at him before thrusting the phone in his hand. "You're the worst- Hey Pepper!" Tony quickly switches to his charming personality, making a beeline out of the living room so no one can hear her yell at him.
You laugh and turn around to look back in the living room. Bucky turns to look at you and gives you a gentle smile, making your stomach perform flips. He lumbers over to where you stand, looking down. "Hey, doll," he greets quietly. You can't help the smile that ghosts across your lips as you stare up at him. Were his eyes always that blue? You try to shake the thought from your mind. "Hi, Buck," you reply. "How was your mission?" You ask quickly, trying to maintain the conversation. Was it always this hard for you to talk to him? "Not too bad," he mumbles. "Shuri says hi."
You perk up at this and beam at him. "You saw her? How is she? Is everyone doing okay?" You can't stop the ramblings as they spill from your lips. Bucky laughs and you feel a hot blush creep up your neck. "Too much?" You ask cautiously. He shakes his head and rests a hand on your shoulder. "Just enough," he says. Your stomach clenches as you look at him. His peaceful smile, the way your skin tingles under his grip. You felt strange and it was beginning to poke and prod at your fight or flight response. "I have to go help Doctor Banner," you say quickly before excusing yourself from the room. Your heart was beating fast and your face felt hot. What was happening to you? Bucky watched you leave, a frown tugging at his lips.
"So, are you going to tell me what's wrong?" Bruce asks after a while.
Your head snaps up and you stare at him. "What?" You ask dumbly. He scoffs and places his coffee mug down on a nearby desk. "You reek," he points out. You flush and realize he's right; you're putting out distress pheromones. You sigh and move to sit down on the small lounge chair Tony had brought into the lab. Bruce often worked well into the night, so the lab also functioned as a living space.
"Bucky's back," you say hesitantly.
Bruce sits next to you quietly, urging you to continue. "It feels different," you tell him. "Like, before I could ignore his scent and everything and be close you know? But now it's like my brain wants me to jump his bones," you prattle off, your face growing redder with each confession. Bruce listens patiently, waiting for you to finish. "Well, it sounds to me like you've chosen Barnes as a potential mate," he says. You feel your body go rigid as you stare at your friend in shock.
"What?"
Bruce leans back on the couch, deep in thought. "Sometimes Omegas will seek out and choose a mate out of a group of Alphas," he explains. "It's not uncommon, although today you don't really see Omegas taking the initiative. Your body is trying to claim Bucky."
You shoot up from the couch, stumbling away from Bruce as he speaks. "No, no no-- I can't claim Bucky!" You shrill. Bruce sighs and walks over to you. He puts his hands on your shoulders in an attempt to calm you down. Betas weren't as commanding as Alphas, but his presence still helped to decrease your heart rate. "I'm afraid it's not up to you," Bruce says quietly. "Your brain chose Bucky and it's not going to let go of him unless the Alpha rejects the claim."
Your body shivers at the idea of Bucky rejecting you. Why does it make you so sad? Despair rolls off you in waves, making Bruce flinch. "I'm sorry, kiddo," he adds. "Is there something you can do? Raise the dose of my suppressants?" You ask hopefully. Bruce sighs, dropping his hands. "That's too dangerous. It could make you miss your heat for a prolonged amount of time, which would only make matters worse," he explains. You look at the ground and feel your eyes sting with unwelcome tears.
What were you supposed to do now?
Over the next few days, you fall into a carefully planned routine. You've discovered that if you only see Bucky in short bursts of time, it's easier for you to suppress the Omega instincts. You sit with him and talk to him for a few moments at a time, before finding some excuse to leave. Although you try to convince yourself it's the right thing to do, it gets progressively harder and harder for you to leave.
Everyone in the tower has noticed your behavior; especially Bucky. He saw through your excuses almost immediately, and it made his stomach sink. He couldn't help the ill-placed thought that you no longer wanted to be around him. He was the only one in the tower that you would avoid and he didn't like it. He almost growled when he saw you train with Sam instead of him. Since when were you so close to Sam?
Bucky didn't realize he was sitting on the couch pouting until Steve came over. "Jesus, Buck," Steve said. "It reeks in here." Bucky's lips pulled into a snarl as he glared at Steve. The blonde super soldier raised a brow at his friend's actions. Since when did Bucky act like this? "You're acting like a lovesick pup," Steve points out. Bucky grumbles something under his breath, looking away.
Why was he acting like this? He wasn't even sure. Bucky feels so on edge like the slightest movement will set him off. It's unfamiliar to him, and he hates it. "I know," he sighs after a moment. "I don't know why." Bucky looks up to Steve with an exasperated expression. Steve hums quietly and sits on the chair across from the winter soldier. "It wouldn't have anything to do with the Omega you're so close with, would it?" Bucky's grip on his metal arm tightens.
"She's avoiding me," Bucky mutters. Steve looks away, his eyes scanning the living room for any unwanted ears. He's noticed your new attitude towards Bucky, but Steve wasn't as naive. He knew mating behavior when he saw it, considering how Tony had acted before they claimed one another. "Have you tried asking her?" Steve wonders. Bucky scoffs and his grip gets tighter. "She won't stay long enough for me to try," he growls. The more he thinks about you and Sam the angrier he gets. Steve smells the anger and tries to suppress his Alpha instinct to fight. He clears his throat, looking at Bucky. "Buck, you need to talk to her. You can't just sit here and stink up the place. You're not the only Alpha in the tower," Steve reminds him. He gets up and leaves the living room quickly, trying to clear his head. Bucky sighs, looking down at his feet.
How would he talk to you if you wouldn't stick around long enough to get a word in?
Bucky stands outside your door, hesitating. He's been in here before, sure. But that was before you'd started avoiding him. He debates turning around and leaving. The last thing Bucky wanted was to fuel your hatred toward him. He felt something in his chest tighten at that thought. Did you hate him? He pushed the thought away and steeled his mind, trying to focus through the Alpha thoughts telling him to find you and take what's his. He knocked softly at the door and waited. No response came, making Bucky frown. Were you still in the gym? He chewed his lip nervously. Were you with Sam?
Bucky felt a possessive surge in his brain at the thought of you training with Sam for over two hours. He pushed his way into the room and looked around. His eyes fell on the bed and he froze.
He stared at the nest of fluffed pillows and clothing on your bed, placed in such a way that there was a little divot in the middle for you to curl up in. He felt something snap in his brain as he looked at the nest with white-hot anger.
Whose clothes had you taken? Who were you nesting with?
He stormed closer to the bed until a familiar scent hit him like a wall. He blinked, staring at the mound of pillows before him. Were those... his? He stared at a familiar pair of sweatpants and a balled-up t-shirt. Did you bring his clothes into your nest? Your safe space? This realization made Bucky's chest flutter. His scent was all over the pillows and sheets, and it made his pride soar. You wanted him in your safe place; he was comforting to you. Bucky couldn't help the smug grin that danced across his lips. Well, now he knew you didn't hate him at least. But why would you avoid him? Bucky decided at that moment that he needed to talk with you- whether you wanted to or not.
Bucky paced around the tower, brows knit together in concern. No one had seen you for a few hours. Where had you gone? Did you leave because of him? To make matters worse, you weren't answering your phone.
Bucky glanced around anxiously. He debated running around the city to look for you, but where would he even start? F.R.I.D.A.Y didn't even know your location. Why was no one else panicking? The elevator in the middle of the floor dinged and Bucky immediately looked up. You walked into the tower looking down at your phone in shock. '23 missed calls from Jon Snow'. You felt your face grow hot as you try to ignore the fluttering in your chest. Why did Bucky call you 23 times? He never used his phone unless it was for emergencies. You look up and freeze in your spot. Bucky is standing in front of the elevator, staring at you like a man in the desert would an oasis. You felt your knees grow weak at the desperation in his gaze. "Bucky?"
He's about to question you when an unpleasant smell wafts through his nose. You shrink back at the anger that settles on his features. Was he upset with you?
Bucky glares at your neck, where the unfamiliar smell is coming from. Why did you smell like an Alpha? Had someone scented you? It didn't smell like anyone he knew and it made his blood boil. "Who did it?" Bucky growls after a pause. Your brows knit together in confusion. Who did what? You wrack your brain for what he could be upset about when suddenly it clicks in your mind. "Bucky, it was--" Before you can finish your sentence, Bucky whisks you away to the sleeping quarters. A started noise leaves your lips as he heaves you over one shoulder effortlessly.
Bucky carries you swiftly into his room, dropping you on the bed like a rag doll. "Bucky," you begin again only to be interrupted by the Alpha crawling over you. He pins you down to the bed and brings his head to your neck. You shudder and present your scent gland to him almost immediately. Bucky preens at this and happily marks you. He does it over and over until your own smell is barely a whisper. You know you're practically dripping in Bucky's scent, and something in your brain sighs happily as if to say, 'more!'
He seems satisfied with his work and looks up to your flushed face. You can't help the purr that slips out of you as you look at the proud Alpha above you. Your body feels light and airy as if you're floating. A languid smile drifts across your lips as you stare at Bucky. He sits up, dragging you forward so you rest on his lap. "My 'mega," he mutters under his breath. You preen at the claim, nuzzling your nose against his cheek.
"If you've gotten that out of your system, can I explain now?" Bucky nods begrudgingly, making you chuckle. You lean forward and place a soft kiss on his forehead. "I was with Pepper at a meeting for a new Stark Industries internship program," you begin. "One of the interns was nervous and accidentally scented while I was next to him."
Bucky frowned. If you were with Pepper, why didn't anyone tell him? "Who knew you left?" Bucky asks, rubbing his chin on your shoulder absentmindedly. "I told Tony," you say, pausing to think. "Tony and Steve."
Bucky curses under his breath. This was probably Steve's way of making him talk to her. You look at him, your heart swelling in your chest. Had he been worried? Why did that make you so happy? Bucky pulls away and you whine at the loss of his warmth. "We need to talk," Bucky says finally. You feel a rush of dread pool in your stomach but you manage to nod.
"You've been avoiding me." You look away and bite your lip. You knew he would notice eventually, but it still made you nervous. "I know," you whisper. You feel guilt settle in the pit of your stomach and you sigh. You should have told him sooner but you were just too afraid of what he'd say.
"I saw your nest," Bucky adds.
Your face flushes as you look at him in shock. "You did?" You squeak. Bucky nods, looking you in your eyes. "Why were you avoiding me?" He asks. You look down and sigh softly. "I, um," you fumble over your words as you try to think. "I might have-- unknowingly-- claimed you?" You say awkwardly. Bucky feels his stomach flip at your confession. "Did you not want to?" Bucky whispers. "No! I do!" You say quickly, before realizing your words. Your face turns pink as Bucky raises a brow at you. "I know you weren't exactly thrilled about the classes, and I was afraid you'd reject me," you murmur. "Oh, doll," Bucky sighs, leaning forward. He places a kiss on your cheek and you feel his stubble scratch against your skin. "I was worried that you wouldn't like me as an Alpha," he admits. "I didn't want you to think I was just some knot-head looking for a rut." You're quick to shake your head and look up at him with a reassuring smile. "Bucky, I could never think that about you," you say quietly.
He hums in appreciation and peppers your face with light kisses. Your chest flutters at the affection and you turn your head to nuzzle his face with your own. A pleasant silence falls over the room, and you swear you can hear your heartbeat pounding away. Bucky's arms tighten around your frame, holding you close. You reach up timidly and rest your palms on his chest. A small smile ghosts over your lips when you feel his heartbeat speed up at your touch. Bucky leans down and places a gentle kiss on your shoulder, closing his eyes. "Mine," he whispers.
You feel your chest swell with pride and you can't help the grin that takes over your features. You plant a loving kiss against his hair and wrap your arms tightly around his shoulders.
"Yours."
