i like you a latte | denki kaminari.
Tumblr media
denki kaminari's determined to make you fall in love with him, cheesy one-liners and all, even if it takes months and puts him in debt. little does he know he's already won you over, you just like watching him fumble.
pairing: denki kaminari x gn!barista!reader
word count: 1.3k
content: reader has a job!, mentions of food/eating, lots of fluff, denki's cheesy but it's fine bc he's cute
hehe do you like my very clever pun ?? i think writing this made me realize i'm a little in love with denki </3 he's a charming dork idk. written as part of @cup-of-fluff's time to shine collab !! ty so much for hosting ^-^ this was soso much fun to write,, im sorry for being a whole month late ;—;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You’re beginning to think Chargebolt doesn’t have any friends. At least, you would if you hadn’t seen him sitting at their crowded table—Red Riot, Alien Queen, Deku, Ingenium, Cellophane, even Dynamight makes the occasional, disgruntled, appearance—his elbows planted in their sides and smiles splitting their faces. Or a poorly hidden grin in Dynamight’s case. But, you reason, he must not like them very much with how much of his time is spent alone in the cafe. Always in the same spot, the same order, with the same barista: you.
So, he has friends. He’s just decided to spend all his precious free time drinking over-priced lattes and eating equally expensive cheese Danishes. Sometimes he brings a binder, thick with unorganized papers and what looks like incredibly important reports, but he never even opens it—too busy monopolizing your company and stretching over the little cafe table to get your attention.
You can’t really complain, though. He always attracts a crowd, even with an incredibly inconspicuous cap pulled over his eyes, which means more orders and more tips and more money. You also can’t deny that you’re just the tiniest bit amused with him, all with his cheesy smiles and jokes and flattery.
Which, he’s not nearly as skilled at as the press pretends. Pro Hero Chargebolt, with his bolstering reputation as a flirt with—reportedly—never-ending charm never fails to come up with the most nauseatingly cheesy café puns. Puns which have, regrettably, endeared you to the Pro.
“Just admit it, you’re in love with him! Y’know it’s healthy, everyone is in love with at least one member of class 1a,” Izumi’s wrought with faux consolation, “it’s human nature, inevitable even. And most people don’t have them sitting in the front of their shop every week.”
“I’m not in love with him,” you huff, sounding too much like a petulant child for your liking. Izumi’s tease isn’t new either, ever since Denki first showed up during one of your shared shifts, she's been insufferable.
“That’s not what your eyes say—they get all hazy and lovesick when he’s ordering,” Izumi says, voice high and sing-songy as she finishes clearing the last table, “and I think your chargebolt keychain says otherwise too.”
“You bought me that.” She doesn’t falter under your glare, though, smile only widening as she perches on the counter, chin cradled in her palms. “And you’re just hoping if he keeps coming around, he’ll bring Ingenium with him.”
A forlorn look suddenly passes over Izumi’s face as she remembers the one and only time he visited, a time she wasn’t even working, “and alas, it’s only happened once.”
“I’m not in love with him. He’s a good Pro Hero and I respect the work that he does.” She scoffs a laugh, earning a very pointed stare, “now, back to work—if you burn my muffins, I'm making you re-bake them.”
It ends the conversation—Izumi disappearing back into the kitchen, palms raised and facing you with a grin—but it settles deep and heavy in your mind. Her words repeat themselves to you throughout the day and into the next. You’d gotten used to Denki being there, to all his cheesy flirts and smiles. So used to them you’re not sure what a week would be like without them. Some selfish part of you hopes you never find out.
“They’ll work on you someday,” Denki catches your eye as you pass, the rest of the cafe quiet and empty. He’d been there since his morning patrol, entertaining the same blueberry muffin and attempting to fold his napkins into paper cranes. He was getting better at it despite the little stack of lopsided and half-formed birds.
He smiles, as bright as the dying sun streaming in through the cafe’s open windows. He watches you clear the table next to him, eyes trailing the slope of your nose and the subtle curve of your smile. His grin broadens when you scoff to hide your grin.
“Don’t you have t-shirts and headshots to sign, hero?” You can’t help the way you chew at your lip, fighting off the warmth bubbling there. He’s right, it’ll work on you, it is working on you. His voice calling you brew-tiful haunts you everytime you make a chai latte. He’s sunny and determined and you can’t help the way you relish the whole of his attention being focused on you. “You’ve had three tables staring at you the entire hour you’ve been here.”
“I’m not trying to woo them, I’m trying to woo you,” it’s a simple sentence, but it's the way he says it that gets to you. Sure and just a little exasperated—like it’s obvious he’d rather watch you clear tables for the next hour than anything else. “Is it working?”
Denki’s grinning again—wider, brighter, and utterly charmed by himself—from where his cheek is squished into his fist and you can feel the way your pulse stutters. He’s charming, disarmingly so, bundled in some obscure graphic t-shirt and bright pink puffer, jeans marked up with lightning bolts you’re pretty were done by him, he’s pretty. Prettier than you’d ever admit to his face, you think his ego’s plenty big enough.
“Maybe,” your voice is drawn out and teasy, hiding any nerves as you move to clear the last few tables of cups and pastry platters, “maybe not.”
Denki’s face warms just a bit in the way it always does when you tease, cheeks splitting with the force of his grin as he—somehow—leans closer. He watches you disappear behind the counter, picking through what's left of the muffins and danishes to reemerge with a square of cake—bright and citrusy in a way which always reminds you of him.
“I’ll see you again tomorrow,” he fumbles with the words despite saying them every week, a stack of manilla folders and binders, the same ones he’d been using as an arm rest, decidedly not working, are stuffed under one arm. He smiles and you’re reminded of spring and the warmth of the sun on your face, “rain or shine.”
“I know. I can’t wait.” You return his grin, lifting the slice of cake, now nicely wrapped and ribboned, “for the road.” The road being his half a block walk back to his apartment, though you know he’ll probably still have the slice eaten before he gets there.
Denki’s fingers brush against yours as you hand off the box. A chill runs up your spine at the contact. His hands are always warm, he’s always warm and this close you can smell the familiar citrusy warmth of his cologne. The thought makes you want to hold his hands, wonder what they’d feel like laced with your own.
You shake the thought with a smile, ignoring the little hitch in your chest when he turns to leave, forcing yourself not to watch him and hoping he’d find your note once he got home.
The note, written neatly on a slip of construction paper a week ago, is tucked into the top of the box. You’d written it the day after Izumi had teased you, hiding it beneath the tip jar and hoping that you’d work up the courage to slip it to him. ‘ I like you a latte too, hero. just make sure to save some of those lines of yours for the date ;)
xxx-xxx-xxxx
You think he forgot how glass works, pausing in front of the shop's corner to pump a jittery fist, the one still clutching your napkin and number—full and happy. The sight startles a laugh out of you. Denki’s head whips up to find you—face flushed and beaming—and he makes a show of waving the notecard in his hand.

A3! Troupe Event Translation - Journey to the Colours (1/11)
Tumblr media
*Please read disclaimer on blog; default name set as Izumi
---
*flashback starts*
Kumon: …
Tumblr media
Yamaguchi: …What’re you doing squatting down over there?
Kumon: It’s just… we could’ve won today’s game for sure. If only I didn’t mess up in the bottom of the 7th inning…
Yamaguchi: That wasn’t your fault, y’know? Geez, don’t sweat it. —.
*flashback ends*
Kumon: It’s been a while since I’ve been to a batting cage. I can’t wait.
Azami: You went last week, didn’t you?
Tumblr media
Kumon: It’s been six days. That’s a long time!
Azami: How? Anyways, baseball’s fine and all, but play soccer with me too. I feel like we’re always just playin’ baseball every time.
Kumon: No prob! I’ll go anytime! …Huh?
Azami: What’s up?
Kumon: This poster…
Azami: Huh. They’re renovating the sports ground? You practiced there durin’ your baseball club days, right?
Kumon: Yeah… I see. Renovations, huh?
Azami: Well, it’s a sports ground so it won’t change that much. I bet they’ll just switch the lights or netting or somethin’.
Kumon: Good point…
-pause-
Kumon: I sure am starving. I wonder what’s for dinner tonight?
Tumblr media
Azami: Who’s in charge again today?
Kumon: I think it was Omi-san!
Azami: It’s hard to predict since his repertoire is so wide.
Kumon: If it was Director, then there’s only one possible answer~.
*footsteps approach*
Izumi: Ah. Welcome home, you two.
Tsuzuru: Welcome back.
Tumblr media
Kumon: We’re back!
Azami: Were you two out shoppin’?
Tsuzuru: I ran into Director while I was on my way back after visiting home.
Izumi: I asked him to lend me a hand with the shopping.
Kumon: We’ll help hold the bags too!
Izumi: Thanks.
Tsuzuru: Great, that’s a load off.
Kumon: Hold on. Are you tired, Tsuzuru-san?
Tsuzuru: My little brothers were playing a little too aggressively.
Azami: What kinda aggressive games are elementary school kids playin’?
Tsuzuru: We were playing Journey to the West. Apparently, they watched a rerun of the anime recently and got hooked on it. I was forced to play two roles, Kinkaku and Ginkaku, and they requested that each of them gets defeated in a flashy way…
Izumi: Those sound like pretty tough roles.
Kumon: Journey to the West? Like Son Goku, right? I copied a manga I read a long time ago by using a curtain rod as a magic staff and swinging it around~.
Azami: I feel like you’d do that even now.
Kumon: Yeah, I bet it’d also be fun doing that now!
Tsuzuru: Let’s act together next time then.
Kumon: Ahaha. I’m down~!
-pause-
Kazunari: …
Tumblr media
Kumon: We’re home.
Kazunari: Welcome back~… ooh, this is a pretty rare party!
Kumon: We happened to meet up and get together!
Azami: We look like such a random group.
Tumblr media
Kumon: What’re you up to, Kazu-san?
Kazunari: Just some work that was commissioned~.
Kumon: Work!? That’s so cool!
Kazunari: After the public exhibition, I started getting work offers here and there. I’ve been taking them to gain more experience. These type of work connections are gonna be important from here on out as I aim to become a UMC~.
Kumon: Come to think of it, didn’t you say that you also have assignments, Kazu-san?
Kazunari: I mean, yeah~. I’m taking it easy since you don’t go to school all that often after entering fourth year. I guess I have to get around to those though. Director-chan, can I use the storage room for work for the next lil while?
Izumi: That’s totally fine, but I think it’s about time to start thinking about Summer troupe’s play. I ask for your cooperation with that too. Well, I’m sure you’ll be fine. You’ve always done lots of other things in tandem with your rehearsals and performances.
Kazunari: You know it. It’ll work out, so no worries!
Azami: Right. It’s that time of the year already, eh?
Tsuzuru: Continuing from Spring Troupe with Chikage-san, the lead for Summer troupe will be Kumon, right?
Izumi: Yeah. That’s right.
Kumon: It’s my first lead in a long time. I’m so excited~!
Tsuzuru: Do you have any sort of request or theme you’d like to do?
Kumon: Eh!? Asking me so suddenly…!
Tsuzuru: Anything you want to do is fair game.
Kumon: Mmm… AH! In that case, I wanna try out some cool action!
Tumblr media
Izumi: Oh yeah, you said something along those lines when you said you wanted to join Autumn troupe at first.
Kumon: Yep! Something exciting and adventurous would be sick~!
Tsuzuru: Noted.
Izumi: Even if there’s action, it’ll turn into a Summer troupe-like play as long as you add comedic elements.
Tsuzuru: I’ll give it some thought.
Kumon: Azami, since you’re going to be the lead in Autumn troupe’s next show, you should also start thinking about your request now!
Azami: It’s way too early for that, don’tcha think?

natsume sakasaki x reader smau
warning(s) : my broken humor, lowercase writing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
writing utc! (672)
natsume true to his words, did in fact come pick you up. after his quick text telling you he's outside came through, you carefully snuck out of the house to meet him.
"hello there, kitten. are you cold?"
"can you please drop that nickname, it's horrible."
"it's my trademark.."
"that makes it even worse. also, i'm not cold, thank you. let's get going, shall we?"
shrugging your comments off he agreed, and you went on your way.
the local park was about a 30 minute walk from your house. you'd expect it to be a quiet and uncomfortable 30 minutes spent with a stranger, but to your pleasant surprise, he actually entertained you and filled the silence. you got a bit closer by the time you arrived at the park.
"... so i said 'no way', y'know, like a liar, and- oh look, we're here."
natsume turned his gaze away from you to look at the park. to his amusement, all it took was a couple questions and you went on to tell a number of stories, filling the silence. to add onto that, he is surprised to realize he quite enjoyed listening to your rambles.
"so we are. let's go to the swings?"
"yeah sure."
after you both took your place on the swings, the red head turned to look at you again. slightly startled by this, you threw him a confused glance.
"continue your story, i'm intrigued."
the pure surprise that showed on your face after he said that felt like a punch in the gut for natsume (he hasn't even known you that long, he has no right to feel that way. what was that?). for someone wanting to listen to you talk and ramble on to be so surprising… it's sad, actually. it stung a little.
you on the other hand, while surprised, were overjoyed. someone likes your stories? is interested in them? real boyfriend or not, you felt like you won the friend jackpot.
"uh, sure! um.. where'd i leave off… oh! yeah so then after that …"
natsume was looking at you and nodding along to your story the whole time, showing he was genuinely listening. you figured he just wants to get to know you better for the sake of the act.
an hour had passed and you guys were still going back and forth, asking questions and telling stories, when natsume asked about your bracelet.
"oh, this? mika made it for me. well, us. the whole gang has one. he's such a precious guy. the guys protect them with their lives. speaking of which!-" and there it is; when you turn to look at him with your fists balled up and held close to you in excitement, eyes sparkling, natsume knows a story you like follows, "when mika made us the bracelets and leo got his, he burst out crying and i promise i'm not lying! he kept saying it's his most prized possession and he'll protect it with his life - which he does, mind you! there was one time he took it off to wash his hands and izumi touched it to look at it but leo saw and whacked him with a guitar! i have pictures, wait-"
"a guitar?! is that why izumi wasn't in school for a week?"
you hummed in thought, "i think so, yeah," and pulled up a couple pictures of the incident. he couldn't help but laugh, "ain't no way."
"that's what i thought too."
a comfortable silence fell upon you then as you were busy staring at the stars twinkling above your heads.
"they're always so pretty and bright, aren't they? to be born and shine a light upon someone else's world, to be an inspiration and sense of freedom for many, it must be nice. i wish to be the same one day. an inspiration, a sense of freedom, a breath of fresh air, whatever you wish to call it. i want to be one of them."
"i'm sure you will, natsume," for me you already are.

Damn imagines idol au maybe you won some award in enstars the idols still think of you as the one stealing their beloved player from them maybe irked and pissed off you called out this idols something like " And now back to this bitch who has lot to say about be me all day in ensemble stars, izumi (or other idols name) what's good ?"
Can you imagines maybe after the reveal if other idols unit win an award instead of the player some idols will jump up the stage like Kanye in MTV 2009 Rinne will absolutely do that
Tumblr media
lmao I aspire to be that confident and petty salkjflsn
gn reader
tw yandere
They´d definitely think that you aren´t deserving of this award because you´re the one that took the player away from them and in their eyes, the player is also the only one that would deserve an award like this. They´re the most wonderful person to ever exist so it´s almost offensive for them to see you being celebrated on a big stage like that. Expect some of them to be childish enough to boo you, only for them to be very surprised when you actually punch bag by mentioning them by name and in turn making a fool out of them in front of the audience
Of course, this entire situation turns on its head after the reveal that you actually are the player. In their eyes, no one else deserves the award but you so they´re all waiting with bated breath, hoping to hear your name get announced, only to get upset when someone else is getting the award. They´re probably more disappointed than you are slndfalnf
Like they´re just sitting there like "who is this that dares to take the player´s rightfully deserved award? Oh I need to raise hell about this"
Like whoever it was that got the award instead of you is not going to have a good time with 50 idols glaring them down and looking at them with disdain the entire time.
Rinne absolutely would run up to that stage, I mean we´ve already seen him do that in the main story, he obviously has no problem with crashing a huge event like this. And while the others are usually bothered by Rinne´s dismissive attitude towards rules and etiquette, they´re actually kind of glad that he decided to take action this time. Like they´re all just enthusiastically nodding along when Rinne declares that that person doesn´t deserve to receive an award skjnfl

Machina - Dues ex... 3
Author: Kino Seitaro (with Akira)
Characters: Mika, Makoto, Shu
Translator: Mika Enstars
"Y’see, although the blue sky is nothin’ but clouds floatin’ on by, if ya look closely, you can tell it’s “artificial”! ♪ But y’know, the person who made it didn’t mean to create a fake, they were hopin’ to create the real thing."
Season: Winter
Location: Sky Garden (SSVRS)
Tumblr media
At a plaza that imitates the ES Sky Garden in the Test World…
Mika: Nnah, nnaaaah~…
I have no idea what’s goin’ on at all… There’s still time left on my pieces up for auction, and an unbelievable amount of money’s changin’ hands!
Everythin’ a huge mess thanks to that~. A buncha my fans all stormed my store and now it’s all just “chaos”.
If Mako-kun hadn’t gotten me outta there as quickly as he could’ve, it would’a been a crisis fer sure…
Makoto: Yeah, seriously… I didn’t expect that someone would try to become your friend and then try to get you to give them your digital art, Kagehira-kun.
But given your art’s so expensive now, I guess it makes sense that people would come up with strange ideas like that. You have to be well off enough to afford a luxury car.
Mika: Uu, say no more, Mako-kun!
I also thought it’d be nice if my work could have some value, but somethin’ like this seriously hasn’t happened before! I feel my hearts gonna jump outta my chest every time it’s brought up…
I’ve already got no clue why my works bein’ valued higher than Oshi-san’s, I’m not even sure if I should be valued more than those whose works are featured in art textbooks!
Makoto: Ahaha. Yeah, it really is nicer to climb stairs step by step.
The situation’s a little different, but it’s like when Trickstar won first place in SS.
I kept pinching my cheek as I laid in bed because I couldn’t believe that everything that happened that day wasn’t a dream.
Mika: Yeah yeah, you get it!
I should be happy over it, but it doesn’t feel real, like it’s just a dream!
Makoto: I bet you’ll be too restless to be able to make anything new for now, so it might be a good idea to stop playing Test World for a bit.
Mika: Hm… I dunno about leavin’ the Test World…
Makoto: Ahaha, you like the Test World that much, huh?
But, I really don’t recommend it. You’re kind of a celebrity here in the Test World now, Kagehira-kun.
So much to the point that it might even hinder you from just walking outside to have some fun .
It’s gonna be tough to have as much fun playing as you did before.
Mika: Yeah, I know that, though.
…Ah, I don’t mean to brush off what you said, Mako-kun. It’s just, I guess you could say I got unfinished business in the world?
I wanted Oshi-san to properly recognize my digital art.
My work so far’s only been simple-mindedly created usin’ the new technology. But, that’s exactly what Oshi-san so angry.
I wanted to create somethin’ proper in hopes of convincin’ Oshi-san.
Makoto: Hmm. Well, judging from the auction results and response, it doesn’t seem like your art’s bad.
Maybe he just was in a bad mood at the time. I dunno if it’s jet lag or what, but there are days where Izumi-san’s unusually crabby too.
Mika: Y’think it could be that? I hope so, but Oshi-san seemed to be real angry. Like what I made was half-baked, or somethin’.
Y’see, although the blue sky is nothin’ but clouds floatin’ on by, if ya look closely, you can tell it’s “artificial”! ♪
But y’know, the person who made it didn’t mean to create a fake, they were hopin’ to create the real thing.
I bet they were creatin’ it, really aimin’ to make a world that could replace the real one. It’s like that.
This here ain’t the real world, but I do think it’s an interestin’ one. Everyone here’s tryin’ to get closer to the real world. It’s a real nice atmosphere.
So I thought to make a work that embodies that interestin’ context that could convey that to even Oshi-san.
Makoto: …I see now. From the perspective of the real world, this world may look fake, but I also feel the world of SSVRS can be just as real as the real one.
I guess you could call it harmonious? It’s so peaceful here that you can forget about reality.
Oh, right. Kagehira-kun, if you’d like, would you like me to buy you a new atelier?
Mika: Ehh, can I really ask that of you!?
The VL$ is worth so much now~! Wouldn’t it be a waste if you blew it on a gift?
Makoto: No need to hold back. Winter break will be ending soon. I was thinking about retiring from my part-time position as a test player anyways.
It’d be nice to cash in my extra VL$ given the fact Trickstar’s struggling financially, but… If I cover too much of the sum, the others will feel bad.
Game money is for using in games. So I can use it without hesitation! ♪
Mika: Thank ya kindly, Mako-kun. ♪ If ya do that, then I can start on my next work—
Shu: There will be no need for that, Kagehira.
Tumblr media
Mika: …!? Is that Oshi-san’s voice…? Where’s it coming from?
?
Shu: Look up at the sky. I am here, Kagehira!
Tumblr media
Mika: Huh…? O-Oshi-san’s on top of a flying machine!? What’s going on!?
Shu: Kagehira. I’ve come to bring you back to reality, upon this mechanical god.[1]
Mika: But why… What did I do wrong, Oshi-san?
Shu: Before I answer that question, I have something to ask you.
Why did you make such a thing, Kagehira?[2]
← prev | story directory | next →
I’ve explained what dues ex machina meant, but the word originates from Greek and Roman theater; the god that would then resolve the conflict would be held up in the air by a crane, a machine. That is why the words literally mean “god from the machine”. In the same sense, Shu is here to resolve the conflict, in the air by a machine.
The scene from the start of the prologue now takes place. Feel free to re-read!

A3! Event Story Translation “SSR Family” [ Chapter 3 ]
Itaru tells Banri about his sister.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Itaru
Soldier to your left.
Banri
Aight. I’ll keep going around it.
Itaru
Wow, nice support.
Oh yeah, my sister’s gonna get married soon.
Banri
Yeah, I heard.
Itaru
I’m still stumped on what to get for my sister’s wedding gift. Banri, what’d you do for yours?
Banri
Ah, I was gonna get something for her, but she told me not to worry about it because I was still in high school.
Itaru
Gotcha.
Banri
I just acted like a good lil’ boy at the wedding instead.
Itaru
Pog.
Banri
Itaru-san, what kind of person is your sister, anyway? Do you guys play games together?
Itaru
Well, we have played together before…
 *flashback*
Tumblr media
Itaru
Clear.
Hmm… It’s fun to fight against the AI, but I still wanna try playing against people.
But I don’t really have friends that I can invite over…
Konomi
I’m home.
Itaru
Oh, big sis!
Konomi
What?
Itaru
Uh… You wanna play a game?
Konomi
Why does it have to be with me?
Itaru
… Ah, well, it must be too much for you to handle.
Since you’re not really used to it and it might take you a while to learn the controls…
Konomi
The hell? If you can play this game, I can do it blindfolded. I’ll join just this once, as a treat.
Itaru
All right!
-
Itaru
Yes! I won!
Konomi
What the hell.
Itaru
Didn’t know my sister would have such poor reflexes. I finally found your weakness.
Konomi
-
Itaru
I think all of the chests in this dungeon have been collected already. All that’s left is the boss—.
Konomi
Itaru, I’ll do this one.
Itaru
Huh? No, I’m the one playing right now.
Konomi
Come on.
Itaru
Eeh—.
I mean, sis, you didn’t even look like you were having fun after you lost. Why are you giving it another shot?
Konomi
Just get on with it already.
Itaru
Fine…
-
Konomi
There, I won.
Itaru
…Did that really just happen?
Konomi
You might’ve been desperately trying to defeat this thing for the past few days, but for me, it’ll fall at my feet like nothing at all.
Itaru
You should be a pro gamer, big sis.
Konomi
Not gonna happen. I already have my life planned out.
I’m going to enter a first-class university, get a job at a big company, do everything I want on my own, find myself a perfect partner, and then move overseas.
Itaru
H-huh…

She fulfilled her own expectations, getting married and moving abroad just as promised.
Banri
She sure is a tough one. A different type’a strong compared to my sis.
Itaru
She’s approachable on the outside, but I could never talk back to her back at home.
Well, my sister actually saved my life during high school, so I’m grateful to her.
But the wedding gift is an impossible quest. If I mess this up, she’s gonna hold a grudge.
Banri
Try not to piss her off.
Itaru
Sigh… If only there was a Wiki to help.
Banri
Right.

Itaru
Huh? Director-san, did you cut your hair?
Izumi
Yup! It’s gotten pretty long, so I asked them to fix it up.
Itaru
Cool. Mine’s also getting long, so I should probably get it cut soon. Especially since I gotta introduce Citron to my sister this weekend.
Sakuya
I’d like a haircut too, but the salon I usually go to is closed for renovations, so I don’t know what to do…
Izumi
I would recommend you the beauty salon I go to, but they’re not exactly known for men’s haircuts…
Itaru
In that case, wanna come with me to my hairdresser?
Sakuya
Eh!? Itaru-san, is it okay for me to go to your favorite hair salon?
I might get turned away at the door if they’re too high-quality!
Itaru
Not really. I’ve been going there since I was in junior high, it’s got this homey feel to it.
Sakuya
Then, please bring me along!

Read full translation under the cut!
Story Title: "Challenge! Homemade Pizza"
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ PART 1 ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
Salesperson: Thank you very much~. Itaru: ( All right. The long-awaited game has been obtained!) (The weekend I've been waiting for has come. I'm gonna pull an all-nighter tonight!) Salesperson: Mister, we are currently giving away one lottery ticket for every 5000 yen purchase. Itaru: Heh.... (I might as well try to pull.) Salesperson: Congratulations! You won the 2nd place prize, a pizza pan! Itaru: Eh. Salesperson: We are also giving away a set of ingredients for baking a single pizza as an extra prize. Itaru: Thanks. (Who would've thought I'd win....) (But well, I love pizza... Perhaps... I'm lucky?)
Itaru: I'm back.
Tumblr media
Izumi: Welcome back, Itaru-san. Omi: Welcome back. ...Oh? You're carrying a lot of stuff today. Itaru: Ah, Director-san, Omi, you're here. Perfect timing. Take this. Izumi: A pizza pan...? How did you get this? Itaru: I won this in a lottery while buying a game. Omi: We can easily bake pizza by just setting the pizza dough and ingredients. It's convenient to bake pizza without using the oven. Izumi: Heh, amazing! I want to bake a curry-flavored pizza. Omi: Trying out various toppings seems fun. Itaru: Feel free to use it as you like. Well then, I have to play my new game. Izumi: Ah, Itaru-san, please wait. How about your dinner? Itaru: I already ate something light at work. I don't need it for today.
Chikage: ....Oi.
Tumblr media
Itaru: Die you f*cking shrimp! Chikage: Oi. Itaru: Hell yeah! Serves you right! I got the trophy! Chikage: Oi, Chigasaki! Itaru: .....Heh? Oh..... Senpai? When did you come back? Chikage: I came back last night, slept in this room, woke up the next morning, finished my business, and have just returned. Don't tell me, you're too absorbed in your game you didn't notice it at all? Itaru: .....Just a bit. As expected of senpai, you're too good at concealing your presence. Chikage: You're just too absorbed in playing. Itaru: The new game is so good I got absorbed in it without knowing. Chikage: You're going to collapse from dehydration if you play games for a long time without drinking or eating anything, you know. Itaru: For a long time, you say. What time is it right now? Chikage: Go check the clock yourself. Itaru: ....Heck, it's already past noon! Seeing the time is suddenly making me hungry. Chikage: At least grab some lunch. You didn't eat much last night either. Itaru: Right? I'm going to look for something to eat.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ PART 2 ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
Itaru:  GJ~. Azami: Uwah, Look at your face.... Did you play games all night? Itaru: My new game was intense. Azami: Think about your skincare a little. Itaru: I thought Azami could just do something about it in case of an emergency... Azami: Don’t count too much on me!   Itaru: Fuwah.... By the way, where's Omi? Sakuya: Omi-san went out. Tsumugi: Itaru-kun, you haven't had your lunch yet, have you? The leftovers are in the fridge. Itaru: Hm~.... I'll order a pizza. Azami: Pulling an all-nighter and pizza ... You can't be serious.... Itaru: .... Uwah, what the heck!? Sakuya: What happened? Itaru: I have to wait for 90 minutes for pizza delivery. Tsumugi: The place might be crowded because it's lunchtime on a rest day. Itaru: But I'm craving pizza already... That's it. Maybe I should try using the pizza pan I got from the lottery yesterday. Sakuya: This pizza pan? Itaru: Right. Right. I won it while buying a game. If I remember, it comes with ingredients for making one pizza as an extra prize. Found it. Azami: Are you baking a pizza? Itaru: If it's just putting all the ingredients together and baking it, I can afford to do it. Tsumugi: Sauce, bell peppers, corn, cheese, and tomato sauce... Heh, it's pretty good for an extra. Itaru: Let's see.... Let's put the dough on the pan first. After that,  add the tomato sauce... Place the ingredients properly... There, it's looking like a pizza now. Sakuya: Wah, it looks delicious! Itaru: Uhh, the baking time is... Hmm, 5 minutes should be fine. But I want to eat it quickly so I'll set it to 3 minutes at a higher temperature. Azami: Isn't it better to follow the recipe? Itaru: It's okay. Don't underestimate a pizza lover. Azami: It has nothing to do with being a pizza lover though? Itaru: All right. 3 minutes have passed! Is it cooked already? ....Huh? It's not cooked at all? Tsumugi: You're right. It's still raw. Sakuya: That's strange. Azami: Isn't it because you're doing it wrong? Consider checking the recipe. Itaru: ....Ah, it says here, we need to preheat the oven before baking the pizza. Tsumugi: That's why it didn't cook at all. Itaru: Then, we didn't pre-heat so let's keep the temperature high and let the pizza bake for a little longer. Azami: ......Don't you think it's better to take the pizza out again and start over by preheating the oven? Itaru: It's alright. It's going to take a little while. I'm going back to my room to play games.
---
Itaru: I'm back~. Sakuya: Ah, Itaru-san! I was about to call you! Itaru: Is my pizza cooked already? Tsumugi: That's.... A strange smell was coming from the pan so we switched the oven off but... Itaru: Are you serious? Uwah, it's burnt!
Tumblr media
Sakuya: You're right.... It looks like charcoal. Itaru: Ugh..... Did I overcook it at a high temperature for a long time? Azami: I told you, you should've started over by preheating the oven. Itaru: My pizza..... Tsumugi: It's no way near edible anymore, isn’t it... Itaru: I'm really not cut out for this kind of stuff.
Tumblr media
(Itaru who can only cook instant noodles (actually, he can make grilled onigiri but he’s lazy af) really think he can bake pizza the same way xD xD ----Also Chikage worrying abt Itaru skipping meals  (˃̣̣̥ w ˂̣̣̥) )

IORI & TAMAKI & HARUKA [Shuffle talk 2021] Part 1: Iori, Tamaki and Haruka
Tumblr media
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Tamaki: ‘morning, Iorin and Isumin. Take care of me for today’s recording
Iori: Please, take care of me
Haruka: Take care of me
Tamaki: Isumin, you don’t look worried at all despite having to record with us. Is it because Tenten isn’t there?
Haruka: Whaat…?! I’m never worried! Also, there is no reason to be worried since it's you I have to record with
Iori: That’s because we’re quite used to seeing each other at school. Be sure not to replicate your scholastic behaviour during the recording
Haruka: I won’t. You should tell Yotsuba that…
Tamaki: Uh. Well then, about today’s recording, shall we give it a try?
Haruka: Wah…! That’s what Tanaka from physics class always says!
Haruka: You suddenly imitated him!
Iori: Your scholastic behaviour is already coming out…
Tamaki: Fufu. The other day I practiced with our classmates
Haruka: What kind of practice did you do? It was just like him! Ahahah….!
Iori: Is this for real? Stop getting excited about school stuff before work
Tamaki&Haruka: Well then, shall we give it a try?
Iori:....fufu
Haruka: Izumi is laughing as well!
Tamaki: We won!
Tamaki&Haruka: Yeah!
Iori: What kind of game are you playing?
Staff: Ahaha. I know you’re classmates, but you really get along!
Iori: I’m very sorry about the noise. We’ll get ready for the recording
Staff: Don’t worry, it perfectly fits with today’s location!  Since it’s an animal variety show, having fun is essential!
Tamaki: Yes! Take care of me!
Haruka: ...I-I’ll do my best!
Staff: We’re relying on your energy!
Iori: At any rate, it’s a big petting farm
Iori: It was written in the document that first of all we’ll take a tractor-trailer train and do a tour of the farm
Tamaki: We’ll take that huge thing which looks like a robot train!
Haruka: Robot…? Aah, because of its big tires? It’s got carriages attached to it, and definitely gives the impression of a train
Staff: During the farm tour you’ll get to see many animals. Foals, llamas, alpacas, rabbits...and many others
Iori: Foals....
Tamaki: That’s good, isn’t it, Iorin?
Iori:...what? Since it’s a petting farm, it’s  probably normal to see families of animals
Staff: Oh, it seems that the tractor-trailer train is ready. The guide will be with us soon, so we can start the recording!
Iori&Tamaki&Haruka: Yes!
Staff: The recording is about to start! 3, 2, 1…!
*Brrrrrr*
Iori: Yotsuba san, Isumi san, look over there! There are many animals playing around!
Haruka: Aah...The wind feels so nice, too!
Iori: Yes
Tamaki: Look! Those piglets are so cute!
Haruka:...they really are! They get along, don’t they? There are some babies racing!
Iori:...nh!
Haruka: ...uh? What’s going on, Izumi?
Iori:...it’s nothing. It’s a sight that makes you smile, isn’t it?
Haruka:...okay then
Tamaki: Ah! The smallest one is really closing the gap!
Tamaki: Looks like they’re rolling over and over! So cute!
Iori: Anyway, this place is really big. There are grasslands as far as the eye can see
Guide: The size of the ranch is also huge. We could definitely put 700 tennis courts in there
Tamaki: 700!? Amazing!! Even if I don’t really get what it means…
Tamaki: But I understand it must be amazing!
Guide: Ahah! It’s okay if you think that this place is good enough to allow many animals to live comfortably
Tamaki: Yeah!
Haruka: Ah! There’s a new place over there!
Haruka: What kind of animals will there be?
Guide: There are alpacas and other animals from the Andes over there
Iori: Alpacas? They’re quite popular animals in Japan as well, aren’t they?
Iori: It’s nice to see them from the tractor, but is it actually possible to come into contact with them?
Guide: Of course! Okay, shall we do a stopover here?
Tamaki: Really!? Can we touch them!?
Guide: You can, since they’re just mild babies!
Guide: Anyway they get scared quite easily, so please pet them gently
Tamaki: Yes! Hooray! I can hardly wait!
Iori: Eventually, we’ll really get to come into contact with animals
Haruka: So, alpacas are fearful. I hope we’ll get along well, so they won’t get scared
Haruka: Just to reassure them, I’ll be gentle

Thank you for the great request @the-desert-shewolf i hope this is what you were looking for.
Tumblr media
“Zuzu, you don’t look so good!”
The last Agni Kai. It was a day that was forever branded into your mind. You could still remember the heat of her flames. How her patient, strategic mind slipped into a rash and impulsive demeanor. She’d fataly wounded her own brother. Ready to do the same to Katara, if she hadn’t stopped her. And that was when you’d found her. Chained to a grid on the floor like an animal, crying in despair and spitting fire like a dragon. Nobody dared to go near her for hours. Nobody but you. “You need to stop, Azula,” You’d cried tears of your own as you forcefully hugged her, body winding against yours. Still trying to free herself. Still trying to fight. Still trying to win. “Please... I’m begging you...” Her whimper broke your heart. You were all that she had left.
There were times when not even a heartfelt “I love you,” could save her. Instead it was interpreted as a further manipulation through her mother. The so called ‘Puppetmaster’. She felt so far out of reach.
But not all days were bad. Sometimes Azula remembered. In the bright hours she recalled your supportive actions and words. You always hoped they would give her some kind of strength. And it wasn’t any easier to face those hardships yourself. To love someone who was hurt so very deeply.
“Being damaged doesn’t give you the right to abuse others,”
A lot of people called her crazy. Called you crazy for feeling affection towards the princess. But what were you supposed to do? You couldn’t just ignore them. Or turn them off. It wasn’t possible. It wasn’t what you wanted. All you were trying to do was to care for a person you’d known since you were a kid. A childhood friend, teenage crush and an adult lover. Where Zuko had been saved by Iroh, Azula had been saved by you. But it wasn’t quite the same. You'd just been a little kid yourself at the time.
“Are you going to see Azula?” You nodded, smiling at Zuko over your shoulder. The robes of the Fire Lord really suited him. “I am. I want to surprise her with a picnic,” He raised a brow, curiously leaning over the little basket on the table before you. You’d spent hours picking out different kinds of tarts and snacks, trying not to get in the way of the cooks.
It was a perfect summer day. The climate was warm and mild. Your timing couldn’t have been better.
Years had passed since Sozin’s Comet occured. Years full of anxiety and anger. But finally you’d arrived in a part of your life, where things were looking up again. The time spend supporting Zuko as the Fire Lord hadn’t been wasted. Both of you worked together on a daily basis. Especially when it came to his sister. Despite everything she had done, he couldn’t deny that he held a soft spot for her. So it was no wonder that she resided in one of the finest suites of the palace. After being monitored and treated for ages, her mental heatlh finally regained stability.
“She’s lucky to have you, (Y/N),” He said, attempting to steal one of the tarts only to earn a slap on the hand. Grumbling he retreated, watching as you checked the contents again, before closing the lid. “Maybe,” You turned around to face your friend. “But i’d like to think we’re equally lucky,”
Your picnic was set up in the gardens, by the fountain, under the old apple tree.
Her whole life Azula only gained approval from two people. Her father and you. The few moments of empathy she experienced were supported by you. If she had a nightmare late at night, you’d crawl into bed with her. When you reduced the choice between you two to physical affection, Ozai couldn’t keep up with you. The mixed messages her parents gave her as a child were what lead her into misery. But her best friend, someone of the same age, stuck by her.
Eventually you’d won her over. Relationships were rekindled. Needs were met.
And right this moment, you were beyond glad that you had. “There you are, sugarplum,” An involuntary grin spread on your face. You’d been so busy with displaying everything perfectly that you hadn’t heard her come up behind you. “I see you haven’t grown tired of the petnames,” That nickname would truly stick with you for life. She’d once used it mockingly, back when you visited Ember Island. And she did ever since. It was always used with an edge of sarcasm, but never empty of love.
“You wouldn’t have it any other way, would you (Y/N)?” You turned around to her, reaching for one of her hands. Her fingers intwined themselves with yours. “Of course not, Azula,” Pulling her towards your little arrangement, you sat down on the blanket, leaning against the strong stem of the tree and patting the spot beside you.
Since her recovery she’d formed a habit of over-sharing her feelings and often apologizing more than nessecary. Those were new sides that you had to grow accustomed to, but that weren’t unwelcome. Nevertheless you were relieved that she also kept some of her wit. She knew she could be free with you. Didn’t need to fear any jugdement. Some days were harder than others. On those Azula would cry a lot. And so would you. You couldn’t stand seeing her so broken.
“Keep it together, (Y/N),” She would say at first, making you laugh through your tears. “It’s okay,” You’d reassure her time and time again. “Healing takes time,”
It was hard to face all those bottled up emotions after such an amout of time. It wasn’t her favorite way to deal with things at first, but she quickly found it helped. And it didn’t take long for her to tell you.
“Sharing your tears doesn’t make you weak,” She’d repeat your words in her darkest times. It brought her comfort. Kept her from going back to her old ways.
The princess moved to sit in the spot next to you, but she never made it that far. Small feet rushed through the grass, running straight into her legs. A tiny, little person curled around them, hugging her as far as she could reach. “Zula!” They squeaked.
The so-called ‘Zula’ raised a brow and crossed her arms, looking down at the little troublemaker. “What do you think you’re doing here?” The girl only lifted her hands in response. You stiffled a smile as Azula picked her up. “Where is your father? Didn’t he want to spend time with you?” Yes he did. And he arrived right on time. “Izumi?” Zuko looked around, searching for her, until he spotted you. The princess was snuggling into her aunt’s chest, a place that always felt warm. You knew it best. “There you are!” His sister raised a brow, tapping her foot on the ground, when he walked up to the three of you. When they stood next to each other, the family-resemblance was undeniable. They shared the same shade of amber eyes, the soft umber strands, and the fair, spotless skin.
It was another person that had helped Azula on her journey. Izumi.
The girl got to experience the childhood the siblings never had. She was proof that princesses didn’t have to be perfect all the time. Nobody did. And she loved her aunt without any doubt or fear.
“You really need to keep better watch on her, Zuzu. This is already the fifth time this has happened,” The Fire Lord nodded, holding his hands out. “Of course. It won’t happen again, i promise,” Azula tried handing her niece over, who whined, clinging to her neck. “But i mean, now that we’re already here, we could also just join you on your picnic,” He argued, pointing to his daughter who held onto Azula’s clothes with all her might. “Izumi seems to like the idea,” You squinted your eyes at him. This was definetely not a coincedence. Accidents don’t repeat themselves that often. “Admit it, Zuko. You’ve purposefully told Izumi that her aunt is here, only so you could get your clutches on our food again!” You’d connected the dots and read the situation. He’d taken a glimpse into your basket every time before you went out the past times. Particular interest always occured when it contained those delicous fruit tarts. With rose pedals on top. He gasped. “No, i didn’t!”
“He’s lying,” Azula said, rolling her eyes. Izumi proceeded to tell her father that “Lying is bad!” which earned her a gentle pat on the head from her aunt.
Nevertheless they swayed you to share some of the ‘goodies’ as Izumi liked to call them. Finally you had Azula were she belonged. Next to you. Her niece sat in her lap, munching happily as your lover ran her hand through her hair. It had taken some time until she’d been allowed to see Izumi at first. Zuko and her mother hadn’t let them meet each other until his sister was completely stabile. Additionally he didn’t want to put Azula through something she couldn’t handle at the time. Their first meeting had been nervewracking for everyone who watched, but an eye-opening event for the two princesses. They seemed comfortable. Content with each other. Sometimes Azula would act as if Izumi bothered her. But she couldn’t deny that she was fond of the girl.
It was also no secret that Azula was clearly the ‘coolest aunt’. At least from Izumi’s perspective. She looked up to her as the strongest female firebender, to be known. Of course she was still too young to fight. But that didn’t stop her from constantly begging the siblings for stories. “Can you tell me a story?” She’d ask, making a pout. “I’ve told you stories countless times,” Her aunt replied, booping her upturned nose. “Another one, pleeease?” Azula sighed. Zuko chimed in, coming to her aid. He started telling the tale of the ‘Dance of Dragons’ in great detail, paying no mind to his sisters sarcastic comments interrupting the tale. Izumi was exstatic about both of them engaging in the narrative. When the story was completed, he beamed at Azula. “Remember when mother used to take us to watch the Ember Island Players perform this play? Afterwards you and i would reenact every scene. I don’t get why i always had to be the dark water spirit, tough,” His sister scoffed, not hiding her gleefull smirk. “Clearly, i made a better dragon emperor,” Her niece laughed at their antics, clapping her little hands. You could comprehend her joy. It was hilarious to have them both participate.
Unfortunatly, Izumi couldn’t escape her duties forever. “Bye, auntie Zula! Bye auntie (Y/N)!” She waved when Zuko carried her back inside. Upon her loopsided smile, Azula couldn’t help but grin, waving back. It wasn’t a sneer or a grimace. It was a genuine expression of so much beauty, that it took your breath away. When she turned back to face you, she furrowed her brows. “Why are you looking at me like that?” There were a ton of reasons. You didn’t even know were to start. So your delight had to be expressed differently. Her lips weren’t far from yours. It took a mere second to connect them. They were soft, as always. She tasted sweet, like the pastries she’d eaten before. “You’re my everything,” you mumbled, her lips still brushing yours. You see her eyes watering as she struggled to speak her next words. They reminded her of all that she’d endured. And yet you’re important enough for her to pull through. “I love you, (Y/N),”
A moment later the tears were replaced by a smile. Her hands came to rest on your cheeks, one of her thumbs running over your bottom lip, removing the lipstick hers had left. You yelped as she abruptly grabbed your shoulders, pulling you to rest your head in her lap.
She worked to untangle your locks, massaging your scalp in the process. Her nails lightly scraped your skin every so often. It felt relaxing. Heavenly. The smell of smoke and leather teased your senses. Something so familiar that it was like home. You allowed yourself to close your eyes for a moment, being at peace with just... feeling her. Being in her presence.
“Agni, you look just as self satisfied as my niece,” She playfully remarked.
The slight breeze made the leaves rustle softly. “Why wouldn’t i?” You chuckled, slowly opening your eyes to look up at her. Her slim fingers hadn’t stopped spoiling you. She looked stunning in the midday sun. Her eyes glowed like molten gold, framed by long, dark lashes, casting shadows on her cheeks. “I’m being pampered by the princess herself. I consider myself to be very lucky,” Her lips pulled into a smile as she caught your gaze.
“You’re right, (Y/N). We are lucky,”
Because everything you did for her, she would return tenfold.
Despite all the hardships, neglect and abuse she’d suffered, Azula had managed to get out on the other side.
Stronger, and better than ever.
Reconnected to the world around her, she remained one of the most powerful fire benders. Her blue flames offering protection wherever you’d go.
When she’d first felt affection towards you, she thought you were her weakness.
Now she knew you were her strength.

A3! Event: Trump the Phantom Thief Episode 7 Translation
Juza took Muku to one of the locations appearing in his favorite manga as they had a heart to heart conversation.
Tumblr media
Juza's Mom: I heard Muku-chan won another race!
Kumon: Seriously!? That's sick!
Juza's Mom: Let's go cheer him on next time.
Kumon: Sure! You too, Nii-chan!
Juza: ...No, I'm good.
Kumon: Whyyy~!?
Juza: (I'll only freak people out if I go. 'Sides, what if people start spreading bad rumors about Muku because of me?)
Tumblr media
Tenma: Thank you so much!
Misumi: Thanks for coming~!
Muku: Thank you very much!
Juza: (That's Muku? He looks like a totes different person.)
(I heard he was kind of down after quitting track and field, but he didn't look that way at all on the stage.)
(Never knew he could shine like that onstage.)
(Maybe I, too…)
Tumblr media
Juza: You're the reason why I started theater.
Seeing you take a step forward to theater gave me the courage to do the same.
But what if you go back to track and field, and in the worst case get injured again….
What if you clash with your teammates and get hurt in the process… What if that issue affects your acting as well…
I just don't want to see you get hurt again.
...But that's just my ego speaking.
I didn't know how you feel about returning to track and field.
No one can ruin your desire to run again, just like how no one can ruin my desire to perform onstage.
I should've told you, "If you're gonna do it, give 110 percent at both of them. I'll support you."
It's my job as your fellow troupe member, your family and your co-star, to support what you wanna do and back you up.
Sorry for being harsh on you the other day.
Muku: ...It's alright. I should thank you instead, Juchan.
I know you said those things because you were worried about me.
I could make up my mind because of your words. I finally realized my own feelings.
I'm sure there's still a part of me who longs to participate in a relay race with my clubmates…
I thought I'd moved on, but...
Maybe I thought that way because somewhere in my heart, I was sure my leg hadn't recovered, because I felt like I couldn't go back to track and field.
This time, I won't regret it even if I can't manage to bring the best outcome after practicing. I just want to do my best to take part in the race with the others, just like before.
I want to do my best until the end. And I want you to watch me run.
Juza: Sure. Show me how you run as the Ace of the club.
Muku: Okay! I'll give it my all.
And you see, I've never thought about leaving the theater.
Mankai Company is a precious place that everyone gave to me when I was still unable to go back to track and field.
And I don't think I can ever quit now that I know how much fun acting is.
Juza. ...I know right.
Muku: I have to focus on our upcoming play first before the race.
Juza: We've gotta catch up after causing troubles like that.
Muku: Let's do our best!
Tumblr media
Juza: Man, this place sure is out of this world…
Azami: Freakin' spacious.
Izumi: It's more gorgeous than the photos… Oh, right. Thanks for coming with us, Azami-kun.
Azami: Nah, no need to thank me. I wanted to see the dressing room since I'll be doing y'all makeup.
Kazunari: Mukkun, you're not getting seasick or anything, right?
Muku: Yep. I'm alright. I already took some medicine, and it's not like we're riding a small boat where we can feel its motion.
Saionji: I've been expecting you. My name is Saionji.
Izumi: My name is Tachibana. Nice to meet you.
Muku: (Hm? I feel like I've seen this person before…)
Saionji: I'd like to offer my gratitude for accepting our request.
Izumi: I should be the one thanking you for offering us such an amazing request like this.
It's not everyday we get the chance to perform in a place like this. I'm grateful for it.
Saionji: I'm also attempting a lot of new things. I don't usually hold a jewel showcase…
Since this is the first time it'll be showcased in Japan, I chose this ship as the venue so that a lot of people can see it.
And because I want people to also enjoy the cruise, I decided to hold it for several days and considered adding more activities throughout the journey.
That was how someone suggested I hold a stage play here.
Due to that, I went around the Veludo Way by myself in search of a theater troupe.
Izumi: I see.
Muku: Oh! Are you perhaps the person who dropped his cufflinks the other day…!?
Saionji: Thank you for picking it up at that time.
Muku: N-No problem!
Sakyo: You know each other?
Saionji: He helped me when I was walking around the Veludo Way. I've got to know Mankai Company because of him.
I looked it up afterward and decided to offer you a request to perform here. It just so happened that my acquaintance was also bringing you up.
I believe it might be fate after knowing that my acquaintance's son is also a member of your theater troupe.
Kazunari: Are you talking about my papi!?
Sakyo: Receiving an offer after helping someone...
Yuki: That's just so Muku.
Banri: Sounds like something that comes out of the Straw Millionaire*.
Muku: Ehehe…
Come to think of it, I remember some jewels are embedded in the cufflinks.
Saionji: That's right. You have a good memory.
Muku: I remember it because it's so beautiful.
Saionji: Right. Why don't you all participate in the jewel unveiling while we're at it?
Since the unveiling will be held a day after the closing show, I'd like you all to stay one day longer here…
Muku: Can we, really?
Izumi: Thank you so much!
Juza: Jewels in a luxurious ship… That's just like our play.
Kazunari: It won't be weird if some thieves come to steal it.
Sakyo: The setting is just perfect. We won't have any issues making the audience immersed in the play like this.
Muku: Now we only need to do our best!
Juza: We've gotta focus.
Saionji: ...Oh, I almost forgot. Tachibana-san…
Izumi: Yes?
T/N: The Straw Millionaire is a Japanese Buddhist folk tale about a poor man who becomes wealthy through a series of successive trades, starting with a single piece of straw.

Izumi: (Amazing, Taichi-kun… He really got it.)
Stall owner A: You’re in luck, young man! Here, 3 frankfurters!

Izumi: Thanks. Anyways, that’s amazing that the red ball suddenly came out!
Taichi: That’s because today’s my super happy day! Let’s go check out that vendor next!
-pause-
Stall owner B: Sweeet, sweeet apricot candy!

Taichi: Really? Alright, it’s on!
Stall owner B: Now you’re talkin’! Rock-paper-scissors!

Izumi: Your hands are already full though… (Apricot candy, yakisoba noodles, cotton candy, chocolate bananas... he hasn’t lost at all yet.) Taichi-kun, what’s up with you today? It looks like you have incredible luck…
Taichi: Ummm… The truth is… The horoscope on TV said that my fortune of absolute success was as its peak today.
Izumi: Oh, I see. That fortune was dead-on, huh!
Taichi: Looks like it! I’m shocked I won this much too!
Izumi: Well, the two of us can’t eat this much, so shall we hand them out as souvenirs to everyone at the dorm?
Taichi: Yeah! But I wanna have a look around at the stalls with you a little more.
Izumi: Sounds good. But relax on the games, alright? If you win any more, you won't be able to carry all your stuff.
Taichi: Ahaha… that’s fair.
-pause-
Taichi: Today was so much fun, right!
Tumblr media
Izumi: The day went by in the blink of an eye.
Taichi: I was able to enjoy the festival to the fullest thanks to you, Director-sensei!
Izumi: Fufu, you’ve also got tons of souvenirs. I bet everyone’s gonna be surprised to hear your story from today.
Taichi: I wanna hurry up and tell everyone!
Omi: —Taichi?
Tumblr media
Taichi: WOAH!? Oh crap! The souvenirs—.
Omi: A-are you alright!? Did I surprise you by calling out to you all of a sudden?
Taichi: Are you on your way home, Omi-kun?
Omi: Yeah, I was meeting up with a senpai at work. Are you two… coming home from a festival?
Taichi: Yep! Director-sensei and I went to a festival on Veludo Way.
Omi: I see… sorry for startling you. Is all your stuff safe?
Taichi: They’re safe and sound thanks to you holding me up, Omi-kun. Thanks!
Omi: That’s a relief. …By the way, what’s up with this amount?
Taichi: They’re all my winnings!
Omi: Winnings…?
Izumi: Taichi-kun was really impressive today.
Omi: …I don’t really get it, but it looks like you had fun.
Taichi: Yep!
Omi: I’ll help carry your things. Here, your bags too, Director.
Izumi: Thanks, Omi-kun.
Omi: Choco bananas and yakisoba… this is an amazing amount.
Taichi: Hehe, it’s all thanks to my super happy fortune!

fun fact: last chapter took so long to post cause I accidentally wrote myself into a corner and I was trying to fix it. and then by fixing that problem, I almost wrote myself into another corner for this chapter.
i hope you guys understand the amount of stress this has put on me. my love of magical worldbuilding has almost fucked me over twice :(
Ao3 | chp 1 | chp 2 | chp 3 | chp 4
Magic, Izumi quickly learns, is actually a lot more complicated than she thought it was.
She never had any reason to think it was complicated though. Magic has pressed down on her since she was a baby; has sat just beneath her skin, warm and familiar and waiting patiently for her to call it forth. Magic, for her, was like breathing, was like running. It was just something you could do.
But if magic is running, then Izumi is learning how the muscles move and how hard her heart pumps and about the oxygen she fills her lungs with in order to do any of it.
Nona and all the older adults—older, because Izumi and Kacchan are really the only non-adults in the skulk—spend most days drilling theory and rules and spellwork into her brain.
It is, all at once, the most interesting and most exhausting thing she’s ever learned about.
Izumi loves every tiring second.
***
They’ve been walking through the forest for most of the day. Izumi has her hand pressed against the barrier, leading the charge, while Kacchan has a fitness app open on his phone, using the route tracking feature to map out the curse’s area of effect. His eyes keep flicking from the screen to the barrier, which he can apparently only see when she’s interacting with it.
There were already a thousand and one questions whirling through her mind about shapes and sizes and apparent visibility.
Her knowledge of curses and magic in general is still novice, but Izumi’s a fast learner and Kacchan is at her side, working through their reliquary with the same stubborn determination she’s only ever seen him apply to his goal of surpassing All Might. She hadn’t thought he’d let her do this all by herself, but she also hadn’t expected him to throw himself so thoroughly into it either.
It’s… well. It’s really nice, actually. But she’s also curious as to why.
She asks him about it exactly once and the glare she gets for her trouble is withering.
“I don’t do shitty, half-assed victories,” he tells her. Which, yeah, she already knows that. She’s been to every one of his wrestling matches. She doesn’t see what he’s getting at here, saying things they both already know.
His mouth flattens, and he turns away, refusing to look at her as he continues, “I’m going to be number one, but if I don’t get there by going over you then what’s the fucking point? I won by default?” he spits the word with more disgust than she’s seen him have for most villains. “Fuck that. You’re gonna stand there in second place because I’ve crushed you into the dirt fair and square, you go that?”
“Oh.” Izumi says, something warm bubbling in her chest. “I’m going to be number two?”
Kacchan frowns harder, if that’s even possible. “Fucking obviously. Who else would it be?”
And then Izumi’s grinning like he’d said something heartwarming instead of arrogant and vaguely insulting.
“I’m going to remember you said that,” she tells him seriously. “So that when they interview me for being the youngest hero to reach number one, I can make fun of you in front of everybody.”
Kacchan kicks her legs out from under her and laughs when she pouts up at him from the ground.
***
The problem with reverse engineering a curse, is that there’s no set way for a curse to have been made.
Curses aren’t like regular spells with their linear causes to effects that they must travel along. They don’t have the same limitless freedom as Illusions, which are born of sparks that have no limit besides the caster’s own creativity, skill, and magical stamina, but they aren’t much better either.
Curses are like puzzle pieces, but ones that can fit in more than one place. Some combinations are inherently more stable than others, but it also depends on a caster’s ability to control and weave disparate pieces of magic into one another.
Which makes this whole endeavor all the harder. They can gather as many pieces and clues as they want and still be left with a missing piece that could be filled by five different things.
Their only saving grace is that the Takanshis were not well versed in curses, nor magic in general besides a chosen few combative spells and rituals passed down through the generations. The Takanashis didn’t have the skills to enact a more complicated curse by themselves. It makes some answers more likely than others, but it doesn’t truly get rid of any possibilities.
Somedays, when the answers seem so far away and Izumi stares at their reliquary bookshelves, all she can think about are the books that had been in the Takanashi vault. Had there been clues in the books they burned? Notes written in margins or journals with entries planning the attack.
Were the answers they were looking for in the ashes Izumi made? Did she doom herself and her family to an inescapable prison because she hadn’t looked close enough? Because she hadn’t known?
The thought makes her feel cold, makes her feel sick.
On those days, Kacchan forces her to put the books down and teach him magic theory instead. He can’t do magic himself—doesn’t have the core for it and wouldn’t want to cultivate one anyway—but he likes knowing how the things he Sees work.
That, and being allowed to ramble about these kinds of things has always been grounding for her, which she’s pretty sure is the main point.
***
Nona is making Izumi translate horrible things in Hebrew, which should qualify as cruel and unusual punishment because it doesn’t even share a root language or alphabet with the two other languages she already knows.
“Why do you guys use Hebrew anyway?” Kacchan asks from over her shoulder. “Isn’t Sanskrit the common magic language?”
“It is,” Izumi confirms, fixing the corrections Nona had marked in red. Her paper looks a bit like someone had a nosebleed over it, but this is the least red she’s gotten a translation back yet, so. “But Hebrew was the first language our ancestors spoke and used for guiding magic so we’ve just… kept using it. Nona says it’s a reminder of where we came from, of the place our family was born before we’d been chased out for practicing witchcraft and ‘consorting with demons’. We settled here so long ago that our legends are Japanese rather than Persian, but we haven’t forgotten our roots.”
She stares down at her arms, which are dark, the same kind of dark her whole family is, even after centuries of living in Japan. Blood is magic, her mom had said, pressing their palms together when she was young, and magic breeds true.
“Huh,” Katsuki says, and Izumi wonders how he must feel being so removed from his own history. How light must his shoulders be, without the weight of his ancestors upon them? How lonely? “At least your talismans are in Japanese.”
She makes a rueful little half smile. “At least there’s that,” she agrees.
***
When Yagi next comes to visit, he introduces Izumi to Melissa and David—”please, Mr Shield is so formal!”—over video chat much to her excitement.
After the introductions, she wastes no time in peppering David with question after question about his inventions and scientific work regarding quirk effects. It’s not long before the one sided interrogation quickly devolves into a debate about quirk theory and analysis—something Izumi takes great pride in staying on top of and having skill with—and a semi-lecture about support equipment that Melissa joins in on every so often.
And Melissa is amazing. Not the same type of amazing her dad is, of course, but that’s like trying to compare Kacchan to All Might. They’re both her heroes, but All Might is just a bit… farther from her reach. More polished.
(Yagi, in her mind, is placed in some strange halfway point between Kacchan and All Might—which confuses her about as much as it makes perfect sense.)
Melissa is two years older than her and Kacchan, just starting out at I-Island Academy to be a support engineer, but doesn’t once act like Izumi’s a little kid. She’s nice and clever and wants to help people with her inventions, to make the world a better place for the people in it just like Izumi does.
It takes only about twenty minutes of talking to the older girl for Izumi to decide that Melissa is one of her new favorite people.
Dinner rolls around before the natural conclusion of the conversation does, and Yagi insists that she go home to eat with her family after spending so many hours cooped up in front of the computer. She grumbles, but moves to comply.
The parting words she hears after saying goodbye and walking out the door is David telling Yagi that, “You got a real firecracker on your hands there, Toshi.”
She blushes, slightly embarrassed but it’s quickly swept aside by a great warmth in her chest when Yagi says back, unbearably fond, “She’s got spirit, that’s for sure. Wouldn’t trade her for the world.”
***
Izumi has always learned best from mimicry, from watching and analyzing how something is done so that she can repeat it herself. But besides illusions, she’s the only fox who can reliably call upon magic stronger than party tricks.
She has the theories and as accurate a description her family can give her, but it is not the same. She cannot analyse the way the magic moves when a master uses it, cannot feel how it is meant to be shaped by better hands than her own.
Her control and precision suffer for it, and a unique type of frustration begins to build during her practical lessons.
She’s on the back porch biting back frustrated tears because she can’t even conjure a ball of light to sit in her palm without it exploding in her face when Gramps happens upon her. He’s the second oldest in the family after Nona and completely human, which means he doesn’t move or think quite like he used to, but he has good days.
Today must be one of them, because when he leans down to wipe her tears away with gentle, age roughened hands, his eyes are bright and clear. “There’s no need to cry now, sha’alabbin. What has you so frustrated?”
“I can’t-” she hiccups. “It won’t work. I can feel it but it won’t work.”
She’s not making sense. She’s too upset to make any sense. She’s supposed to be powerful, supposed to be the next Matriarch--but all she is is frustrated. She can feel all this magic crackling at the edge of her senses, but she can’t get any of it to do what she wants.
Gramps eyes her consideringly, and she’s not sure what she looks like, but it can’t be good. After a moment, he nods, like he’s come to some sort of decision, and taps his cane on the ground twice.
“Alright,” he says. “Then let's try something different.”
“Huh?” Izumi blinks, eyelashes still wet from crying. He’s holding out his hand to her, something expectant and fond in his expression. She’s confused, but she puts her hand in his and watches as he guides her fingers to rest at his wrist, almost, but not quite, against his pulse. His skin is almost ghostly compared to hers.
“Don’t try and do anything yourself. Just feel what I’m doing okay?”
She nods, still confused, but she trusts him.
“Ha'er,” he casts and a light bursts, small but bright, in the center of his palm as she feels something press up against her own magic. Izumi gasps, eyes wide and flicking between the light and her fingers pressed against his wrist.
“Again,” she demands, paying more attention this time.
Gramps doesn’t mention her lack of manners, just smiles and does as she asks.
Yes. Yes, that’s- of course! She lets go of Gramps’ wrist and cups her hands together, a wide smile on her face because she gets it. She gets it.
“Ha'er,” she casts and a light, stronger and larger than Gramps’ but still able to be held in her hands, blooms to life before her. She shrieks, laughing with joy.
She throws her arms around Gramps, careful not to squeeze too tightly, but she’s so overwhelmingly happy. She’s done impossible things like rewrite her best friend’s Name and speak with the wind, and yet conjuring a light in her palm feels like her greatest accomplishment ever.
“Thank you. Thank you so much.”
He hugs her back. “There’s no need to thank me. We are skulk.”
She nods. Breathes deeply the smell of soap and cedar, before pulling away. “How did you know to do that?”
“Call it a hunch,” he says, ruffling her hair. “You learn a great many things getting to my age. And you learn them in a great many ways.” As if to prove his point, he passes his hand over the light in her hand and leaves a dozen butterflies fluttering out from her palms in his wake.
She startles, leaning back on her heels as she watches them flit about in the air. “I - what? How did you do that?” she demands. That was not simple magic. Changing one thing to another is already not easy, but to make the inanimate living? She’d thought no one but her could do things like that under the curse.
Gramps smiles at her, bright and sharp. “There are advantages to being the only one in the family who is a Midoriya in spirit only.”
Izumi blinks. She’d never though about it before, because Gramps is skulk, is family, and blood or marriage doesn’t really have anything to do with it, but he’s a Midoriya the same way Kacchan is. He’d known Nana Naoki when they were young and been brought into the skulk even before Nana Naoki married their husband and had Auntie Umi and Uncle Hikaru and her mom.
“I’m fascinated by magic. As a young boy, I would fill entire notebooks with theories and ideas about things that could be adapted and changed or what would happen if you did this with the core component of that spell instead. But I wasn’t able to put any of it into practice. My magical core was weak, and hadn’t developed properly, so I couldn’t attempt any of my experiments without putting myself in extreme danger. But then Naoki had their Witching, and no sooner had the celebrations ended that I found them at my door, glamor gone and offering me their power as my own, if I wanted it.”
“You were a kitsune-tsukai?” Izumi asks in surprise. One who enters into a pact with fox yōkai of any kind.
Gramps nods. “I’m not strong enough to do the kind of magic you’re learning. Not by myself. But I think I can help you if you help me too.”
She’s nodding before he even finishes talking, head bobbing so fast it’s liable to fly off.
***
At dinner that night, Gramps brings up his intention to help Izumi with her practical spell work, causing most of the table to pause in surprise.
Nana Naoki, who always sits on his right, gives him a look. “You hadn’t told me you wanted to do that,” they say, which makes the table go even quieter. It’s well known in the family that Nana Naoki and Gramps tell each other everything.
They’ve been best friends for decades, the kind of best friends she and Kacchan are. She and Kacchan are a lot like them in a lot of ways actually, (which Izumi doesn’t like thinking about for too long because if she does, then the fact that Nana Naoki is only six years younger than Gramps but physically is about half his age will make her cry).
“I’d only decided in the last two hours, dearheart.” He pats their hand reassuringly. “I also think it’d be wise to have her learn proper talismans under our lovely Aoi. Not just the seals we have young foxes learn.” Aoi, who’d been sitting at Izumi’s left, sits up suddenly at being mentioned. She shoots a look over at Izumi who can only shrug. Gramps didn’t say anything about talismans earlier. “Izumi has the mind for it, I believe, and it’d fix her problem with precision work.”
Nana Naoki frowns. “By doing it for her.”
Gramps tuts. “She has too much magic to ever be good at precision. Not unless she focused on it solely for the next twenty years. The talismans will cover her weaknesses, not aggravate them.”
Nana presses their lips together in something that’s not disagreement, exactly, but perhaps a stubborn refusal to be wrong. But Nona speaks before they can say anything.
“I think that’s an excellent idea, Hiromi. Aoi? Do you think you’d be able to spare the time?”
“Of course, Nona,” Aoi says, reaching over to ruffle Izumi’s hair. “I’d be honored to help.”
Izumi smiles, knocking her shoulder against Aoi. She thinks she’s gonna start liking practical lessons a lot more from now on.
***
“Okay. This is getting a bit ridiculous now,” Uncle Kyo says to the room at large when Izumi once again enters the back door covered in dirt and dried blood. Mom is crying as she fusses over her, wiping away blood from already healed wounds. She never doesn’t cry, no matter how many times Izumi comes home like this.
And, unfortunately, she does it kind of a lot. Things like this are kind of common since they are settled neatly over the largest ley lines in Japan. But she agrees that this is getting ridiculous. The amount of yōkai wandering onto their land has increased with no visible cause as to why.
Yōkai flock to them, but not in such numbers or frequency.
Aoi, who leans over mom to ruffle her hair but suddenly thinks better of it after seeing the dirt, asks, “Why are you always the one to stumble across our newest magical pest?”
“It’s not like I’m going hunting for them!” she protests.
Everyone in the room gives her a look.
Izumi huffs and pouts at everyone for the rest of the night. You put yourself in the middle of a few schoolyard arguments and suddenly you’re looking for trouble everywhere.
***
Izumi is learning magic the traditional way, studying for a whole year and a day before being presented to the Earth during her Witching.
Most of the things she is meant to be taught in that time was decided on long before. There are things she must know as a fox with such a powerful magical core, things she must know as Matriarch-to-be. Most things are planned for her to learn, but there are some things she can choose for herself.
Around the third month, she’s on a video chat with Yagi. That’s not terribly unusual, but the fact that he seems to be calling from a hospital room is.
She spends about five minutes fretting over him, pestering him with questions before someone—Recovery Girl, actually, and Izumi will definitely be freaking out over that later—takes the phone away and answers her questions quickly and efficiently.
“It’s good to know someone is worrying after this idiot,” Recovery Girl says dryly while Izumi can hear Yagi complain in the background. “He needs more people in his life.”
“Funny,” Izumi grins, “My aunts say the same thing.” She just knows that Yagi is blushing furiously now.
Recovery Girl’s lips quirk just a bit, and then she’s handing the phone back to Yagi with one final beration, quiet enough that had Izumi been human, her ears wouldn’t have picked it up.
“You better watch yourself, Toshi. That girl cares about you and I won’t be around to put you back together forever. Don’t do something stupid and leave her alone.”
There’s a lot in there to unpack, things that would make her blush, probably, but her mind gets caught up on the phrase ‘put you back together’.
Izumi has been worried for Yagi since the moment she met him, and that’s only heightened since she learned of his injury and how far it all went. He’ll be injured the rest of his life, will keep getting more injured until he retires.
(If he retires, a traitorous part of her mind whispers. Izumi channels her inner Kacchan and tells it to shut the fuck up.)
But she could help with Yagi’s injuries, she realizes. Recovery Girl may not always be there for Yagi, but Izumi sure will.
It’ll be hard, and so much precision work that Izumi is likely to cry just thinking about it but, well. It’s Yagi. For him, she’ll learn whatever she needs to.
***
Katsuki finds her in the willow clearing, the one where rikud mavet takes place. It’s where she does most of her practical spellwork, practicing the same motions and words over and over and over until she gets it right.
She says something about the magic being more settled here, but Katsuki can actually See the magic of the clearing and it looks far from fucking settled. But what the hell does he know? Magic’s Izumi’s specialty, not his.
She turns around the moment he steps into the clearing, probably been tracking his progress since he stepped into the woods, the fucking weirdo.
“Hi, Kacchan!”
He grunts as a greeting, standing close enough that she can bump her shoulder against his leg. “What’s this?”
Laid out all around her in the grass are books. Which is, in general, not all that strange. Izumi’s normally surrounded by books—they both are really, what with the curse research and keeping up with classes, and when Izumi isn’t busy with the other two, she’s buried in spellbooks.
The strange part is that she has them in the clearing. The clearing is for practical magic, not theoretical.
She must be ansty, he thinks. Or frustrated.
Izumi sighs, and leans more heavily against his leg. He thinks about moving and letting her overbalance just to watch her sputter, but she starts talking before he can decide. “Anatomy books. Nana Naoki is forcing me to memorize diagrams before they allow me anywhere near healing magics. They say it’s important to build strong foundations.”
Katsuki blinks. “Healing? That’s what you picked?”
“Yeah. I’m picking up talisman work pretty quickly according to Gramps, and now that my practical work is almost completely caught up to where it needs to be, Nona said I’m free to learn whatever I’d like. Of course, this is complicated and realistically impossible to learn in nine months, so I’ll still be learning under Nana Naoki until we leave for UA. and probably a while after that.”
“No, wait- back up. You blow about as much shit up as I do and you want to learn healing magic? I’m no expert, but ain’t that the opposite effect one generally goes for?”
Izumi scowls up at him and pinches his calf in warning. “I’m getting better,” she sniffs. “And I won’t be doing practicals for a while anyway. Nana is having me learn warding to help with control and it’s kind of helping, mostly. I understand better how much magic goes into something and how it stitches together, but I still have trouble stopping it all from rushing out.”
Katsuki hums at that for lack of anything to say. Izumi though, has never lacked for words and continues in his silence. He settles down on the grass next to her, chin propped in his hand and listens as she lectures on magical theory and the odder pieces of human anatomy.
***
Izumi is working on talismans like Aoi’s been showing her while Kacchan checks over her maths homework, her chem equations stacked neatly at his side to be done next. “Incoming,” she warns about three seconds before Aoi slams her door open with a loud bang.
Kacchan still jumps despite the warning and Izumi flinches at the loudness.
“We’re going to the beach,” she says without preamble, darting in to grab Kacchan’s ankle and yank him off the bed like she plans to just drag him the whole way there. Kacchan, of course, starts kicking and trying to dislodge her immediately so Izumi is forced to wait patiently for the two to stop swearing at each other long enough that she can get a word in edgewise.
“Why?” she asks quickly the moment she can. She was going to point out that they were busy with work, but she thinks Kacchan already made that point abundantly clear.
“You two have had your heads in this book or that one for the last two months. You guys need a break. Pretend to be kids for once!”
And, well, she might have a point. Mom’s been fussing over her for at least a week. Between school, magic lessons, (the curse breaking she doesn’t quite know about), aikido, gymnastics, and volunteering around town, she’s worried that Izumi might be working too hard.
This will probably ease her mind a bit. And besides, Izumi actually likes the beach, so. Why not?
***
They spend a whole forty minutes building sandcastles and laughing and chasing Kacchan into the water before Aoi’s plan backfires.
It’s not anyone’s fault really, but they get too close to that one part of the beach that’s become a dumping ground. It’s where Kacchan took her that day he yelled her back into being a Hero. She’d had more important things on her mind at the time, and admittedly still does, but she decides, right there on the sand, that she’s going to clean it up.
There’s something… important about accomplishing this, though she doesn’t know what that is.
She turns to Kacchan to tell him about it, but he’s already glaring at her. “I’m not helping you with this.”
“Okay,” she says, already rearranging their schedules in her head. (They both know he’s going to help her, at least a little bit, but Izumi will let him pretend, as she often does.)
It is, in Izumi’s opinion, a pretty good day.
***
If Katsuki ever has to deal with a púca ever again, he’s going to break something - hopefully the púca’s creepy little neck.
Because this? This is bullshit.
The thing’s been chasing after them for an hour, spouting nonsense riddles and making that stupid, snickiering noise when Katsuki yells swears at it.
Katsuki was well on his way to being pissed, while Izu was lingering somewhere around frustrated and annoyed. Which was strange, considering she doesn't normally get worked up unless there’s a yōkai in town putting people in danger on purpose. Púcaí may be tricksters, but they aren’t malevolent as far as Katsuki knows.
But hell, maybe she’s just as annoyed as he is by the fucker. Even her patience had to have limits.
She’s sitting on a log now, half-resigned to the whole thing, while Katsuki paced behind her like a caged lion, snapping his teeth and growling at the air around him. They can’t actually go anywhere. The supernatural fog surrounding them makes sure of that, walking them in circles until they end up right where they started.
Katsuki felt like a rat in a maze and it was pissing him off.
Which is why, the moment the púca steps out of the fog, Katsuki launches himself at it before it can even open its mouth. It poofs into a cloud of smoke before he can wrings its shitty neck, reappearing next to Izumi on the log.
“Naughty, naughty,” the púca tuts, lips stretching wide and unnatural across it’s vaguely rabbit-like face as it wags a finger at him. “Bad behavior earns no treats.”
“I’m not a fucking dog,” he growls, hands pop-pop-popping to the beat of his anger.
The púca ignores him of course, acting like he’s not even there. “Traps are tricksy things. Tricksy things for tricksy foxes.”
“Could you get to the point?” Izumi snaps, glaring out the corner of her eye. “You’re not making sense.”
“Foxes make bad pets. Too wild. Foxes do not belong in cages.”
Katsuki scoffs. “You’re the one trapping us, fuckface. Just let us out if it upsets you so damn much.”
The púca tilts its head a full ninety degrees to regard him with it’s golden eyes, bright and unnatural against the bed of its black fur. “Peafowl have too many eyes to act so blind,” it tuts disappointingly.
“Fuck you,” he spits.
“Proud, testy creatures are peafowl,” the little rat-shit tells him, sounding almost amused.  “Peafowl do not play well with others.”
“Me and Kacchan get along fine,” Izumi defends before he can say anything. “Stop provoking him.”
The púca narrows its many eyes at her, then him, before swiping its unnaturally long forelimbs over its face and ears a few times, much like Katsuki’s seen real rabbits do. “A cage of gold is still a cage, no matter how pretty it gleams,” it seems to settle on saying. “Foxes do not belong in cages.”
Izumi blows out a loud breath, moving her bangs with the force of it. “If you’re talking about the curse, we already know. We’re working on it.”
“Foxes are clever. Foxes are quick. Foxes are not prey.”
“We know,” Izumi snaps, and she’s starting to sound angry now. Angry and frustrated and probably only a few minutes from crying as the emotions in her chest overflow. If this púca makes her cry, Katsuki’s going to turn it to ash.
“So what changes a fox into that which is not a fox at all?”
“What?” Izu startles at the question. “You can’t stop being a Fox.”
The púca hums neutrally. “Were born of foxes, were raised by foxes, but were not foxes themselves. Never foxes themselves.” The púca pauses, thinking, then nods slowly. “Not foxes. But should have been.”
“Should’ve - hang on. Are you saying the curse isn’t killing us but just… turning us human? Is that even possible?” She turns to look at him, but Katsuki just makes a face at her and shrugs. Fuck if he knows.
“Blood is magic,” the púca says heavily. “Magic breeds true.”
He watches as Izumi’s face goes pinched with confusion, brows furrowed and lips turned down. “Magic breeds true,” she repeats. “Magic breeds… the curse is taking our magic? So much that it’s killing us? How? Where’s it going? What’s the curse doing to it? It can’t just be released back into the-”
“Better question,” Katsuki interrupts her train of thought before she gets too far. “Why take the magic in the first place? They’re Hunters. Wouldn’t they have just tried to kill you?”
Katsuki scowls as he thinks about the hidden reliquary and all the ‘trophies’ the Takanashis had crammed inside. Izu frowns, sad and angry all at once, and he knows she’s thinking the same thing. “You’re right. That doesn’t seem like something they’d do at all.”
“Curses are tricksy things,” the púca says, then, far more pointedly, “Hunters are not tricksy things.”
Katsuki stares down at the púca for a long moment, Izumi just as silent, before he suddenly bursts out laughing.
“Kacchan!” Izumi admonishes, probably because she doesn't think he should be laughing, but - fuck. This is hilarious in that kind of way that if he doesn’t laugh, he’s going to slam his head into a tree as hard as fucking possible.
The Takanashis fucked up the curse they tried to place on the Midoriyas? Are you shitting him?
Some fucking hunter legacy they were. No wonder they’re all six feet under ground.
Izumi sighs, hands scraping through her hair roughly. Her hair sticks up oddly in their wake. “Okay. Okay. You told us all this stuff, but what are we supposed to do now? How do we break the curse?”
The púca hums neutrally, eyes twinkling.
“Come on,” Izumi whines. “You’re supposed to help people! Help us!”
Katsuki gives her a look. “It’s been trying to help us?”
Izumi pauses, then shakes her hand in a so-so gesture with a grimace. “Púcaí are wise. But they’re also unreasonable tricksters who make people work for the advice they give.”
He pinches the bridge of his nose, and thinks, briefly, of just blowing up the damn rat so he can be done with it all. “Work for - fucking fine. It told us how the curse works, which probably means the way to break it is somewhere in it’s mess of ass-backwards riddles.”
Izumi nods. “Yeah, okay. Let me just… so the curse steals our magic. In the beginning that meant it… killed us from the lack of magic, and now it means that it’s harder to call upon magic at all--which is probably just the curse deteriorating naturally, which isn’t uncommon. The Takanashis likely believed that ripping out our magic would kill us, which it did, but that magic has to go somewhere. It can’t just be left out in the aether, we’d either just reabsorb it or it would wreak havoc on the natural order. So, if the Takanashis are smart-”
“Which we already know they weren’t,” Katsuki interrupts.
“If they were smart,” she repeats pointedly. “They’d have an anchor for the spell that’s holding all our magic in it. But since onyx is the only thing I can think of that doesn’t have any discovered upper limit for holding magic--which I doubt they used, it would have to be a perfect sphere and the Takanashis were no experts in material manipulation--whatever they used is probably growing too full after absorbing three… maybe four generations of magic?”
Katsuki narrows his eyes. “Wait. Are you saying that the skulk’s magic is just… out there somewhere?”
“It’s probably somewhere within the barrier actually,” she ponders absentmindedly. “It’d have to be in order to be an anchor. And I also don’t think the magic it took could cross the barrier if it was since the magic is us and we can't cross. Well, actually hold on - can I manipulate things outside the barrier? We never tested-”
He slaps a hand over her mouth. “Izumi, shut the fuck up. Focus. All the magic that the Takanashis took from the skulk is somewhere nearby. We can find it, and when we do, we can take it back. Your family could have their magic back.”
Izumi’s eyes widen as the púca snickers, showing off it’s rows and rows of needlepoint teeth. “Clever peafowl.”
She pulls his hand off her mouth, holding his wrist in her two hands. “Do you think that’d take care of the barrier too?”
His lips twist as he thinks about it. They’ve been assuming the barrier was a part of how the curse functions up until now, like a plastic bag slowly suffocating you. But if the curse is stealing their magic in order to hurt them, then the barrier might be something extra placed over the whole thing just to keep the Midoriyas close to what’s hurting them.
He doesn’t say any of that though, because it doesn't actually answer the questions and he’s sure Izumi already figured that out anyway. So, instead he says, “It fucking better. If I have to do more work after going through all this shit to break a generational curse, I’ll explodo-kill your face, you got that?”
Because Izumi is an insane person, she smiles at that and gives his wrist a squeeze before letting it go. “Of course, Kacchan.”

Hello!! You might recognize me but I was wondering on your thoughts on my little fun idea about the yandere self-aware au for ensemble stars, so since I am a huge simp for Anzu (I'm on my knees for her /hj), I'm just imagining all of their reactions towards our favoritism towards Anzu and Anzu just taking it <3 Idk I just like making them jelly~
Tumblr media
Heya! I absolutely do recognize you, I remember reading some of your twst works and really enjoying them! I´ve also seen you reblog my posts before, which I really gotta thank you for!☺️💕
I´m honestly really happy to see so many people simping for Anzu when that´s usually a really rare thing for the MCS of these kinds of games. There´s honestly so much potential for her so I´m more than happy to provide more simping material😏
gn reader
tw yandere, obsession, possessiveness, jealousy, self-deprecation, mention of kidnapping, mention of blood
The characters being jealous because you show clear favoritism toward Anzu
So very obviously, Anzu is going to be very happy that you favor her. You two share a special connection that no one else can compete with, so from her side you always were the most important person to her, but now she has the confirmation that you feel the same for her! It looks like all of her hard work of impressing you with her diligence has paid off! You can bet that she´s more motivated than ever when she does her work as a producer, knowing that her darling likes her more than anyone else. Hah, she can´t stop smiling and there´s a blush on her face whenever she thinks about it ( which is always, tbh).
Everyone knows Anzu as very modest but she´s actually very smug about being your favorite and she will mention it every chance she gets, finding it funny how jealous the idols get every time.
The others of course are in shambles. Trickstar is the most understanding one because they´ve been with Anzu longer than any other unit and they´re also the most normal ones in this AU. They understand why you may feel that way and they´re happy for her but deep down they´re still disappointed.
(Not going to mention every character´s reaction to this because that would be a huge amount of work, just a few that randomly came to mind)
Tsukasa is moping 100% of the time. Like yes, he understands why you may like Anzu ( I mean have you seen how much of a simp he is in-game), but since the day he learned that the person that was with him the entire time was actually you and not Anzu, he´s been so in love with you. And he´s tried so hard to try and court you even through the screen, he´s been nothing but a perfect gentleman, and yet he was beaten. Probably cries about it ngl, he´s so frustrated and kind of throws a tantrum when you aren´t there to see it
Speaking of tantrums! Tori is soooo not happy about this development. You´re supposed to like him the most! He´s the cutest idol in the world and he´s tried to make you feel extra special by giving you cute nicknames but that didn´t seem to work somehow? He´s very upset and he´s not going to hide it, even from you. You can expect him to make some snide comments about the producer when on the home screen. If you´re already in their world then he will still try to invite you over whenever you can and have tea parties with you, of course without Anzu, so he can try to monopolize your time. He´s going to make you see that he´s the best option here!
Izumi is very very pissy and moody, even more so than usual once he finds out about this. You like Anzu the most, the one person you didn´t even get to really talk to when you were playing the game? When he, a literal model, was right there and ready to give you some attention? Are you stupid or something? He definitely won´t just sit by and accept this, you know. He´s picky when it comes to choosing his partner and he´s already made the choice that you are the one for him. Who do you think you are, trying to deny him like that? He´s going to make sure that you come to your senses soon enough. If not, there´s always the option of kidnapping you in case you´re close <3
Mika is honestly just crying. He knows that he´s not good enough, he knows that he´s just a useless doll and could never hope to be on the same level as you, but against all odds, he still held onto a small sliver of hope that you may once consider him worthy of your love. He´s spent the last few months or even years, worshipping your very being and loving you from afar and now he finds out that you prefer Anzu over him or even Shu. He tries to accept it because it´s your will and he could never dare to defy you when you´re always right, but he´s so upset. If only he had done more, if only he had served you a bit better, maybe then you might have shown him mercy and chosen him. But that didn´t happen. How could he be so foolish to think that he deserves your love? He´s nothing without you, of no use at all! Mika might grow back to showing distaste for Anzu but this time it´s not because of Shu. No, he hates her for taking you away when he hadn´t even had enough time to improve himself so you could accept him. She´s not worthy of being with you either, you know?
Shu huffs and utters a snide remark when Anzu brags to him about being your favorite, but as soon as she leaves the room he just kind of breaks down. Not even Mika could console him right now, not that his unit mate is in an appropriate mental state himself. Shu just shuts himself in his room for days on end, no one even seeing his face once the entire time. He tries to throw himself into his work, sewing clothes until his fingers bleed but it´s not enough to fill the hole that has made its way into his heart. The creations that he made exactly to your liking, they weren´t enough. He still hasn´t grown enough as an artist to impress you and so his work is useless. In his desperation, he would rip apart the outfits he had designed previously. What did it matter if you didn´t like them anyway? He had to be better, he had to work hard to win back your favor from that devious woman. Shu is not coming out of that room until he´s satisfied with the new outfits he is making until they are utterly flawless. Deep down, he´s scared that he will never be enough but the only one he voices these thoughts to is Mademoiselle

Hai can I ask for some sakyoizu fluffy HC ? I can't see any and I'm kinda starving, i need some crumbs please?
first of all, I just want to say that this is probably my most shipped couple in the game aside from Juban and tsumugi x tasuku (I forgot their ship name) so thank you so much for this request  <333
So it’s pretty much canon that Sakyo has liked Izumi ever since they were kids
Just imagine little Sakyo spacing out with a smile on his face as he thinks of Izumi and how much the other people in the Yakuza teases him about it
He didn’t want it to be obvious but it just really shows unconsciously
Even after years, Sakyo still has this fondness at Izumi but it took him so long to finally confess
Between this time, everybody in the dorm could pretty much tell that Sakyo is into Izumi and not just that wow-I-like-her kinda thing but the I’m-madly-in-love-with-you thing
Some even made bets on who will confess and how long it will take for them to get together
Azuma won both so now Banri, Taichi, Homare, Citron, Kazunari and Tenma has to do something for him
So imagine how everybody will celebrate when finally this two adults get together
Sure there will be people jealous at Sakyo but at the end of the day, they’ll be happy that their dear charming director finally found love in her life
The one who confessed was Izumi, it was when she finally figured out her feelings for Sakyo and it just can’t be hidden anymore. It’s not like she wants to hide it either
The day Izumi confessed was probably one of the most unforgettable moments in Sakyo’s life, imagine having your childhood crush saying she likes you back
We could only dream
But Izumi got worried, because Sakyo wasn’t responding, she thought it was because he wasn’t interested but that wasn’t the case
Sakyo’s just malfunctioning
So when Sakyo finally woke up from his trance, he also admitted his feelings for Izumi, although unlike Izumi it was more awkward with blushes everywhere as his eyes moved from everywhere and anything just not landing on Izumi
Although Izumi was ready to get in a relationship with Sakyo, the old man’s so old fashioned and wanted to take Izumi to dates before he would officially ask her to be his girlfriend
But if Izumi was to be honest, it did kinda make her heart skip a beat, there’s just something romantic about it
But Sakyo didn’t leave empty handed that night since Izumi kissed his cheek
Sakyo got worried after that, with just a simple kiss on the cheek he was already feeling like he was on cloud nine, what more if it was on the lips?
After the 3rd date, Sakyo finally took courage and asked Izumi to finally be his girlfriend
That was where they shared their first kiss, it wasn’t the best but it wasn’t bad either, to be honest, if there was any problem was the fact that Sakyo didn’t know where he should place his hands
Dates between Izumi and Sakyo would be going to plays in Veludo way and discussing them on the old park they used to go to when they were children late in the night as they sit on the old swings as they look up to the beautiful night sky
But of course, Sakyo wouldn’t just go for those, no. He will make sure that he takes Izumi out properly, with beautiful and elegant clothes and a good dinner
The other guys in the dorm started to go against this because “How come you can eat expensive dinner and we can’t even keep the lights on until midnight?!”
But Sakyo shuts them up with the “It’s my money not the company so shut your yapping and do your homework!”
There will also be times when they can’t go out so they just decide to either watch a good movie and snuggle on the couch or talk about things on the dorm’s balcony with coffees on their hands
Speaking of cuddles, Sakyo’s the most awkward man out there, he can’t even hold Izumi’s hands how do you expect him to hold her in his arms???
At first it was awkward, Sakyo was tense and he didn’t know where he should place his hands
Banri might have laughed at the scene but he stopped upon receiving Sakyo’s death glare
But as time passed, Sakyo became more comfortable with the whole thing, sure he still doesn’t like doing it in public but once they’re alone, Sakyo will not waste time in wrapping Izumi in his arms, especially when he notices that Izumi’s getting stressed
When Izumi get’s stressed, Sakyo takes it upon himself to make sure Izumi gets enough rest, by letting her relax in his arms and listening to what her problems were
He would also try to lessen Izumi’s responsibilities, when he has the time he would make sure to help out as much as he can to lessen Izumi’s burden
To be honest, I don’t really think there’s anybody in the relationship who gets jealous easily. Both of them are adults and has enough trust in each other to know that either parties are going to cheat
Also, just completely random but in the dorms after finally getting informed about Sakyo and Izumi finally going out, they now tease Sakyo about having an affair with Izumi and cheating on their mom which is Omi
Don’t worry Omi, I’m pretty sure everybody in the fandom wants you to be their hubby
Sakyo tried to stop them from it but eventually gives up because even his girlfriend joined in the joke
To end this, Sakyo’s going to treasure Izumi so much, he’s liked her ever since they were children and he sure as hell wasn’t going to let her go now that they’re finally together and Izumi’s going to give as much or even more love to Sakyo
