The Madrigal Sisters Headcanons 🌵💪🦋
Isabela and Luisa were always protective of Mirabel, even when they were busy in the village and Isabela grew jealous of her. If either of them saw someone be mean to her. Bless their soul. Isabela was and still is a “no one is allowed to be mean to them except me” kind of person and Luisa can scare them away just by towering over them and simply telling them to back off. 😂  Mirabel has mixed feelings about this. She appreciates that her sisters care about her but she also feels like they act like that because she doesn’t have a gift.
After the rebuild, Mirabel would make sure Luisa was taking as many breaks as she needed. Luisa is stubborn though so she’ll work even when she is clearly stressed out and Mirabel will bug the hell out of her about it.
The sisters have started having sleepovers again like they did when they were little to rekindle their bond. They also invite Dolores of course ❤️
Mirabel had the idea of a “family day” where nobody does any work in the Encanto unless there is an emergency. It’s become a weekly thing ❤️ On these family days, the family comes together to do different activities or just chill out. Basically whatever anyone wants to do.
Isabela has made it a point to give every family member a spa treatment on family days. With aromatic plants, face masks, massages, etc… ❤️
Luisa struggled a lot with being a buff woman the first several years of her having her gift, it made her feel like an outcast among the rest of the girls around her age. She felt like no one found her beautiful just because she was a muscular woman and boys wouldn’t like her. This turned out to be FAR from the truth of course. Being everywhere in the Encanto, she figured out that boys weren’t intimidated by her because she was big and strong, they were intimidated because she was a Madrigal. Many people in the village both fear and respect this family (though also many of them took advantage).
When Luisa first got her gift, she could not hug someone without squeezing them nearly to death 😂 Now she’s able to control her own strength but she still does give the best bear hugs.  ❤️
Luisa loves playing the paino and baking, sometimes when she can’t sleep, if Julieta is still up, she will ask to bake something with her. She and her sisters will also write and play songs together  ❤️
Even though Luisa never projected in the somewhat cruel way Isabela did, she was a bit envious of Camilo for some time. She wished that she could express the same freedom and sunshine that he possessed until she understood that he too was acting to keep everyone happy.
The sisters started doing the same thing the triplets do where they just sit and vent their feelings, and cry if they need to.
The one thing Mirabel and Alma had in common, were their love for butterflies. Mirabel knows so many things about different butterflies from reading about them and she will just talk to Alma about them. They’ve formed a bond over it really, and it’s adorable.
Mirabel carries an assortment of things in her mochila, like candies and cards to give out to random people.
I do headcanon Mirabel as bi (her voice actress is bi, and she literally has a little bi rainbow on her dress which I just found out! This is another reason I relate to her 😂)  Seeing Isabela and Maya’s relationship helped her a lot with coming to terms with her attraction.
Isabela loves to bury Mirabel in an assortment of plants just to mess with her. One time while she was still asleep, Isa trapped her in vines and tree limbs and Luisa had to free her. 😂
Isabela will sometimes make an absolute mess with her pollen balls and vines, but nobody scolds her for it because she’s finally letting loose. ❤️
One time, Luisa passed out from overexertion and Mirabel practically forced her to take a few days off and let the family take care of her. Alma and her parents actually admitted to being on Mirabel’s side about it, which Luisa wasn’t too happy with. But it helped ❤️
(I’ll probably add to this because these three girls are underrated AF)

I bring you a headcanon: Madrigal kids & Hairspray. (Hope you like it).
- Tracy is definitely Isabela's fave. Takes no shit and fights for what she believes. Kinda reminds her of her little sister Mirabel, btw. She also like the diversity of the cast. Reminds her of her family.
- Mirabel loves the songs, of course, but she loves the story more. She's inspired to start some protest to make Encanto a better place, she just needs a good reason to start.
- Luisa has a crush on Link. And also on Penny. She's a very soft girl who always sings along to "I can hear the bells".
- Dolores pretends that she's too cool for musicals but cries during the whole "Without love" arc because she's a hopeless romantic. (Not so) secretly hopes someone will love her like Wilbur loves Edna.
- Camilo spent 3 weeks trying to nail as much of the choreography as possible. He knows all the lyrics and is committed to make his school put on a production of Hairspray. Also tries to convince the teacher that YES - he can play 4 or 5 characters in the play.
- Antonio haven't watched it yet, but murmurs a few songs because Camilo heard the soundtrack so many times that is impregnated on everybody's brain.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA LET'S GO!!!!
Tracy being Isa's fave makes so much sense actually 😭😭😭😭 and the fact she reminds Isa of her sister is so cute 🥺🥺
Mirabel LOVING the story is such a her thing that's so nice!!! She truly is a lot like Tracy!
Luisa having a crush on Link? CANON. YES. On Penny??? ALSO CANON WHO WOULDN'T LOVE THAT GIRL SHE'S SO CUTE. Also her dramatically singing "I Can Hear The Bells" is something that I find really funny and so in character 😭😭😭😭
Dolores is definitely a real one, she understands my love for Wilbur and Edna so well 😭😭😭😭
Camilo. I didn't needed Camilo playing Link AND Corny so bad until now.
Antonio is basically my friends every time that I listen to Hairspray ngl.
Now you've only mentioned the grandkids, so what about the adults?
Pepa LOVES Edna's character arc solely because empowered women is something that she finds so cool, considering she comes from a family of mostly women. Not only that but seeing others supporting Edna makes her cry a lot. It reminds her of how supportive her husband and kids are too. "Big, Blonde and Beautiful" starts playing and she starts screaming.
Bruno is not the biggest fan, mostly because he's into more dramatic musicals, but he loves the costumes and stage design a lot.
Tracy is also Julieta's fave for the same reason she's Isa's fave as well. Tracy reminds her a lot of Mirabel.
Agustín is a Wilbur and Edna stan and he LOVES teasing Julieta when "You're Timeless To Me" plays. He knows the lyrics by heart at this point.
Félix loves the overall energy of the musical and his fave songs are surely "Run and Tell That" and "You Can't Stop The Beat". Seaweed is his fave and he's gonna make it everyone's problem.
Alma... even though she's not the biggest Hairspray fan, she always cries when "I Know Where I've Been" starts. Always.

"Encanto" is one of the best Disney movies ever, and here's why
1. Representation of mental health in a children's movie
Tumblr media
This movie so brilliantly showed mental health issues in many of it's characters. Mirabel thinks that she isn't good enough because of Abuela, which is a good sign of Avoidant Personality Disorder. Luisa obviously has crippling anxiety from the weight that's been put on her shoulders, and Bruno is showing hints of depression and anxiety as well.
As the oldest sibling of my family who had severe anxiety all my life, never have I ever related to Disney songs as much as "Surface Pressure" and "Waiting On A Miracle". I think it's beautiful how Disney made not one but two songs about mental illness, and dealing with it. It teaches kids to not hide their feelings!
2. Showing diversity by having a Colombian family as the main characters
Tumblr media
This movie is one of the rare ones which don't have a white protagonist. I noticed that in the last few years Disney started showing more and more diversity with non-white female leads (Tiana, Moana, Raya, and now Mirabel), and I especially love how it's a family! A great detail that needs to be recognized is that even tho they do look alike (because they are a family), none of the characters look the same. I feel like in the older movies, even when there was some diversity, all people of color would look the same. It shows how much Disney has improved!
It also shows toxic family relations in Latina families, like how Abuela favorited others over Mirabel, especially because Mirabel is a middle child. This movie is on all levels so realistic. Besides the magic.
3. Having a strong female lead with realist proportions and an actual personality
Tumblr media
Since the beginning of 2000 up until now, Disney and Pixar have been doing a great job at making characters with realistic, complex personalities, and it really shows. They really went from having white princesses being saved by a prince charming to strong, diverse women who have enthusiasm and take charge by themselves. Don't get me wrong, I still love the older white princesses, but I'm glad that nowadays every little girl can look at the screen and see a princess that looks like them! Disney still has a long way ahead of them when it comes to diversity (would it KILL you to make an LGBTQIA+ character?? Or a Muslim character??), but we gotta appreciate how far they came!
I also loved this movie for it's lack of small waists, for it's realistically sized noses and actual hips on characters. Feels good to have realistically proportionate people in cartoons, it reminds kids that all shapes and sizes are gorgeous!
4. Awesome plot and great animation
Tumblr media
The plot and even the idea of "Encanto" is really interesting, and it isn't one of the classical, overused tropes. The story is very original, and it isn't the classical family cliché.
I loved the animation, it's really raw and full of emotion. There were some scenes I didn't believe were actually animated because of how good they are, like Abuela crying.
5. Having an amazing soundtrack written by the legend Lin-Manuel Miranda himself
Tumblr media
Name one bad song from this soundtrack. I'll wait.
From the beat to the lyrics and even the placement of the songs in the right moment, everything about this soundtrack is awesome! The tunes are so catchy (everybody has "We Don't Talk About Bruno" stuck in their heads) that it still reminds you that it's a Disney movie, but the lyrics are so deep and meaningful and clever and touching. The way Dolores smugly hid the fact that she can actually hear Bruno thru the walls in "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and then asked Mirabel "Do you understand?" was brilliant.
Also, "Dos Origuitas" is 2021's version of "Remember Me" from Coco. It has the same sad but also beautiful vibe.
Bonus:
Pepa and Felix being the best married couple ever
Tumblr media
I- They are seriously the cutest. Pepa is so interesting and weird, and Felix is such an awesome, supportive husband that it's practically impossible to not love them. Felix is the type of a guy that would cause an unexpected rain all over the Encanto just and only because he tickled Pepa so hard that she started crying (brb gonna go write a fanfic like this). They are awesome partners, and even more amazing parents.
If you say that you don't simp (or at least love them) for Dolores or Camilo (or in my case both), you are lying. I don't make the rules.
--
All in all, Encanto is an awesome movie, in all aspects. I can just tell that one day, in like 30 years, kids are gonna be watching and loving this movie like we love "Beauty And The Beast" today. This one is gonna be one of the classics.

Bruno x male!reader
Plot: Headcanons on getting married to Bruno
Takes place on before he left!
•The date is August 8th, the day that two special people celebrate their special day
•Pepa and Felix are setting the decorations on the altar
•Julieta made the cake with the help of her husband, Agustin
•Camilo and Maribel were like 4-5 at the time so they are just playing dolls in their rooms or something-
•Deloris was somewhat older so she was in charge of making sure the cake was alright
•Isabella was setting up flowers and Luisa was carrying the heavy decorations
•Abuela is doing Abuela things, I don’t really see her doing much except looming over others and silently judging them
•The entire town is invited, all of them had brung gifts! Yay….!
•The casita itself is overly excited obviously
•Bruno is terrified, he’s making sure his hair is perfect, his tie is perfect, his suit isn’t wrinkly.
•Meanwhile, his soon-to-be husband is just enjoying life while putting some MANLY earrings in
•Bruno puts some matching earrings in as well, making sure those are perfect
•He believes seeing the groom is bad luck so he purposely avoids his soon-to-be husband at all costs
•He’s also constantly knocking on the altar, “Knock Knock Knock Knock on wood”
•Tuxedos aren’t necessarily his thing but it’s his wedding so he’s going to try to enjoy this as much as he possibly can
•He’s roaming around the wedding area, fiddling with his earrings as he avoids his fiancé, telling Pepa and Julieta to tell him if [Name]’s around
•[Name] doesn’t mind this whole “bad luck” thing at all, if it calms Bruno down then he’s also calm
•He also tries to avoid Bruno, not because he wants to but because it makes Bruno feel better
•He’s very patient with Bruno about these things
•The time is now and Bruno is fiddling with his earrings, making sure they are perfect
•[Name] arrives and everyone is gawking at his tux, his surprisingly calm face, and the matching earrings he and Bruno have
•Bruno can finally relax and stare at his beloved
•[Name]’s father walks him down the aisle, if his father isn’t around then both Felix and Agustin walk him down the aisle
•All three of the men have a good brotherly relationship established so it’s not awkward
•Felix is whispering a couple jokes while Agustin is shushing him while stifling his laughter
•Finally, they reach Bruno and Bruno is just wondering what they were talking about, on the other hand, Delores is biting the inside of her cheek to not laugh at her father’s jokes
•Bruno resisting the urge of knocking on the alter
•Abuela was the “priest”, and she was just talking about the wonderful day, thanking everyone for joining, all things “priests” do
•[Name] and Bruno holding hands, [Name]’s thumb rubbing Bruno’s comfortingly, meanwhile Bruno just can’t get over the beauty of his amor
•I mean, now he’s going to spend the rest of his remaining years with this man, this beautiful, handsome man
•Before they both know it, Abuela says the magic words they’ve been both dying to hear
•”You May kiss the groom” she smiles
•[Name] and Bruno don’t waste time smashing their lips into their own
•Their earrings glowing brighter than ever as they wholesomely hugged each other
•I imagine Bruno being slightly shorter than [Name] so he’s holding back tears and digging his head on the crook of his now-husband’s neck
•If Bruno’s taller then he’s nose deep in [Name]’s hair, just enjoying his scent as [Name] is hugging the literal life out of Bruno
•Everyone is clapping and cheering, some even crying. (Camilo)
•When the both of the new-weds are cutting the cake together, [Name] doesn’t waste time putting a bit of frosting on Bruno’s nose
•Bruno is nervously laughing and trying to cut the cake smoothly, knocking on the table
•The cake was divine, [Name] had to remind himself to thank Julieta for that
•The party finally begins and Felix is joking around with his new brother-in-law, laughing and yelling out jokes over the music
•Bruno is being congratulated by the citizens of Encanto, sipping on his alcoholic drink to try and forget his embarrassment
•Eventually, [Name] makes it over to Bruno and invites him to dance, which Bruno doesn’t hesitate to oblige
•The two are having a good time as new-weds, [Name] finally answering the question that was on his mind
•”Did you see this in our future?”
•Bruno’s taken back a little, but answers anyways, “I did… I saw a lot.. And I’m glad I did”
•[Name] just smiles, but it’s not his normal smile. It’s an almost empathetic smile, one that said “I knew it”
•The two fell into a deep embrace, not moving an inch
•Eventually, the ceremony is over and guests are leaving
•[Name] and Bruno went to Bruno’s room, now laying in bed in just some boxers
•But matching, just like their earrings
•”Well…”
•[Name] looked over to Bruno
•”You’re a Madrigal now… How does that feel?”
• “Amazing…”

🎼Musically inclined Bruno!🎼
I’ve always hc Bruno to be musically inclined (something he picked up over the years // but also everyone in the family is musically Inclined, but bruno hit different)
Although, he may not be the best guitarist in town, he definitely has enough skill to create original songs, as well as sing/play old folk songs.
Alma would also low key force him to try and serenade the partners she would pick out for him (and usually it would work but he tends to get reeeeeaalllyy nervous and sometimes he would feel uncomfortable since half of the time he wouldn’t sing from the heart, but rather please his mother.)
He’s the type that would sing on rooftops and sometimes the villagers would hear him and when they do (though very rarely) they call him: el gato hechizante (the bewitching cat, alluding to him being an alley cat singing in the night)
And y’all’s already know he writes musicals… or at least he tries to
We’ve heard Bruno sing but we haven’t really heard him sing. As in, when he really tries, he can get his voice smooth and soothing. When he serenades, he SERENADES
He also sings to himself/hums whenever hes: needs to calm himself down, is really happy, or is trying to write a song
Him and agustin would have jam sessions?????👀
All the cousins would loosely remember him singing them to sleep, or teaching them a folk song. So when he came back and was able to muster up courage, they literally made a mini stage for him to perform in (all thanks to camilo and his room) and would set the ambience and everything
He would definitely sing dos oruguitas (with his own personal touches to the song).
“Such a wonderful song, sung with my brunitos beautiful voice,” Alma approaches Bruno and hugs him, “Where did you learn such a song, hijo?” Alma asks her dear son; after his heart wrenching performance the rest of the family are in the waterworks. Mirabel, who is bear hugging Antonio, is sobbing in the corner while Camilo (who’s fanning his eyes) is trying to keep it in, Dolores and Luisa tearing up hand in hand. Isabela would try to cover up her tears by coughing and quickly wiping the tears off her eyes. His sisters and their husband's on the other hand are all in the verge of tears, (except for agustin) as they try to calm their children down.
"Its just little song from the future. A very handsome man was singing it and I caught a glimpse of his music sheet and went along with it." He says with a shy but worried chuckle. His heart warmed at the sight of his family. Hearts around him are swelling with love, compassion and understanding. He really haven't seen this many people crying ever since the season finale of one of his rat telanovela.
Everyone came to a group hug around bruno, still with a few tears here and there. The room is filled to the brim with love as well as content faces as their warmth surround each other. A reminder to each of them that they'll always be there for each other, no matter how apart they seem to be.
I had so much fun drawing each family members reaction of them being literally the best supportive family ever (Also Julieta and pepa are yelling: WOOO THATS OUR BROTHER!!! LETS GO TRIPLET POWER!!!) And mirabel and camilo are just yelling incoherent supportive noises
Also I suck at writing and I actually wanted to add brunos version on dos oruguitas but it ain't done yet but maybe I'll post it once it is. 👀

This is how Isabela asking her lover what is the wifi password.
Tumblr media
⊰᯽⊱┈──╌❊╌──┈⊰᯽⊱
“How's work?” Julieta asks her daughter in motherly tone as usual while cooking, “It's great, so far so good.” Isabela replied as she watches her mother cooking on their video call.
“What about (Y/N)? How's he doing?” Mirabel popped out of nowhere on the call, “He's—”
“I'm home!” Isabela smiled as she heard his voice, “He just got back.” Julieta wipe her hands and then grab the phone from Mirabel, “Let me talk to him for a second.”
Isabela tilt her head and shrugs, “yeah, of course.” the eldest daughter stood from her chair and searching for her husband. “Welcome home! Mama wants to talk with you.” she quickly peck (Y/N)'s lips and hand him the phone.
“G'evenin', Mama!” “(Y/N), good to see you again, how's work?” Her son in law just chuckled nervously, “it's fine. I did something interesting at my office so the boss wanted to give his position to me since he's going to retire soon.”
Isabela raises her eyebrows as she crossed her arms, “That's marvelous!” she exclaimed happily to her husband, “Congratulations, amor. I wish you two all the best.” Julieta smiled at the couples from the video call and handed the phone back to Mirabel.
“Since (Y/N) is going to be a boss, i can get a job at your place!” the young Madrigal wiggle her eyebrows and smirk, Isabela rolled her eyes and take the phone from her husband, “Yeah whatever you say, do your best, hermanita.”
“oh no wait - nevermind, i don't want to leave Mama alone!” she dramatically crying while hugging Julieta's back, “Ay, Mirabel.” (Y/N) take off his shoes then goes to their room, leaving Isabela talking with her family at the dining room.
“When are you guys having babies? I'm so down to be aunty!” Luisa came behind Mirabel and give her older sister a thumbs up meaning that she's also agree. “Shut up. You're being too noisy.” Isabela could feel her face getting warm by thought.
“Aww, Isabela is not ready to be a mom—” suddenly their video call having a problem at the connection or just the internet. “Hello? Mira? You still there?” she groans as she stood up and notices their new wifi is fixed.
“I need the password.” she mumbled quitely, Isabela made her way to the upstairs and then to their share bedroom. “Mi Flor, can i come in?” she knock on the door three times to make sure that her husband already changed.
“Yeah, come on in!” he answered from the room, letting his wife open the door and give him a beautiful smile as usual, “Need something?” he asks while take his laptop out of his bag.
“Yeah, i just need to know what's the wifi password?” Isabela take a sit next to her husband and lean her head on his shoulder. “i see, okay then, the password is your fullname.” Isabela raises her eyebrows as she glance at her husband.
“my fullname?”
“No, your fullname.”
Isabela began to think for a moment then put her fullname as the password, but it's totally not working. She frowns a little at this, then she tried using her husband's fullname instead. But the result is the same as the first one.
“Amor, it's not working ...” she whined as she give her phone to (Y/N) and let him see what kind of password she put, she rests her head again on his shoulder as he laughs at her.
“Oh, what a silly password, isabela!” (Y/N) hold his wife closer to his embrace as he shows her the real password, “Mi Diosa, what i mean is, your fullname - not putting our real fullname such as Isabela Madrigal, (Y/N) Madrigal, like that. Just - your fullname.”
Isabela could feel that she's being dumb for a second as she smacked (Y/N)'s shoulder playfully, “I hate you and your silly password.” She grumbles at him while glaring, (Y/N) rolled his eyes as he kiss her lips passionately - making her legs shaking.
“You know you loved me.” (Y/N) laughs when Isabela is still mad at him, “I'm sorry, amor. It's just - you look so cute when you're confused.” Isabela sighs in defeat and smile at him.
“Okay, i forgive you. Now give me the phone back!” she tackled him making the two of them layed on their bed, (Y/N) tried not to let the phone go as Isabela use her vines to pull his hand down. (Y/N) throw the phone to his other hand and accidently turn off the video call.
“Oops—” “(Y/N) ...!”
Isabela immediately let him go and take the phone from his hand, “Great, now they won't call me again for two weeks since they're busy!”
“Um, we're also busy—” (Y/N) quickly stop when he saw the sadness on his wife's face. As he feeling guilty, (Y/N) scooped her up and make her stare at him in confusion.
“We can take a break from work, then we can go back to Encanto.” hearing this, a smile slowly crept on Isabela's beautiful face again as she nodded her head in agreement. “Again, i'm sorry.” the husband apologized as he ducked his head.
Isabela giggles at him then cupped his face carefully, “I love you, (Y/N).” Isabela confessed as she pull him closer and kiss him in deep passionate full of love and playfulness.
“About Mirabel said, when are we going to have babies?” the husband blurted out of nowhere breaking the heat atmosphere.
“(Y/N).” Isabela whined at him.

Small things I love in “Waiting on a Miracle ”
There’s gonna be a lot on this list also I’m doing it for all the other songs too!
How all of the family are posing! Everyone if them is doing something unique to them and I love it!
Luisa casually holding a bolder
Pepas rainbow!!!
The firefly’s behind them!
The toucans flying over them and Antonio gesturing to them!!
How a happy scene for them is genuinely heartbreaking for Mirabel
How they don’t remember her is just tragic and beautifully done!
Mirabel taking a deep breath before singing and looking on the verge of tears
How she starts off trying to tell herself to stop being sad
Acting like she dosent deserve to be sad over something so small and it’s so realistic!
The reflection in Mirabels glasses
How she keeps blinking her eyes like shes trying to stop herself from crying
“Hey I’m still apart of the family madrigal”
Her assuring herself that she’s apart of them is just gorgeously heartbreaking
Her saying over and and that’s shes fine until she just breaks and says “I’m not fine!”
Mirabel slightly opening her arms as she “talks to them”
Her being shadowed as she’s in front of the light and her family still being lit up
THE EXPRESSIONS
The look that she give Luisa as she looks up at her holding a bolder
How she slightly matched Isabelas pose and reaches out to her slightly but dosent
How she steps back and away from them with the water flowing in the background still covered in shadows as her family is lit up!
Mirabel grabbing onto her mums shoulders and slightly hugging her
The gentle hand she puts on Pepas shoulder as she looks at her
The way Mirabel looks back one last time before walking away going through the crowd to get out the door
Her being the only one in the room looking slightly sad, everyone else has bright smiles
The kids running in the stairs with sparklers
And Mirabel tracing her hand across them as she walks down the stairs
How Mirabels skirt moves slower than her like it’s also slowing down
How she’s basically begging for a chance to prove herself
The way abuela just blankly stares as Mirabel is swinging around her begging for a chance to prove herself
THE GODAMN LIGHTING
IYS BEAUTIFUL
the way the mountains erupt from the ground
The way flowers come out from under her dress like they did for Isabela earlier
How casita appears it’s just beautiful
THE WAY THE FAMILY IS LOOKING AT MIRABEL
Luisa is cheering with her arms in the air
How pepa is clutching her heart as she states lovingly
Julieta and Agustins faces matching how they look at the end of the Movie
Camilo, Dolores and Antonio all having their arms up and reaching for her lovingly
And all Mirabel wanting from abuela is just a warm smile
It’s heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time
Mirabel reaching out for Isabela but pulling away instantly
Her running up the stairs and the lighting immediately changing from warm colours to cool colours,
It’s breathtaking
The fireworks about to go off but just as she stamps her foot they start too
THE FIREWORKS GOING OFF ON BEAT
It’s beautiful
Honestly I think this song is the prettiest looking out the movie just before what else can I do
How Mirabels constantly clutching at her her shirt
THE FIREWORKS REFLECTING OFF MIRABELS GLASSES
The bright light of a firework and she’s back in the courtyard
But now it’s completely empty and she completely covered in shadows
The brokenness in Mirabels voice
MIRABELS FACE ITS JUSG GUTRENCHING
The little
“Am I too late for a miracle ”
I’m definitely doing all the other songs so I’ll add the links when I’m done them!
|| The family madrigal || Waiting on a miracle || surface pressure || we don’t talk about Bruno || what else can I do || dos orugitas || all of you ||

dont forget when luisa is crying after the dinner and augustin goes after her to comfort her :(
This was technically in response to me calling Luisa a Daddy's Girl. But since a few people pointed out that scene, I totally took it as a prompt.
So, here's what happened after Luisa ran off after dinner and Agustín followed her. NOT romantic, familial. I tried to context clues all the Spanish so you don't need it to get it if that makes sense.
Luisa was maybe, only maybe, a bit of a Papí’s girl. She loved her entire family, that was one of her main characteristics, but her papá had a special place in her heart. One of her first memories was sitting on his lap and banging on the piano keys while he told her it was beautiful. And him dancing with her in his arms or being carried on his shoulders.
Maybe she was a total Papí’s girl.
Strained wasn’t the right word for their current relationship because she knew she could just walk up to him and start talking and her Papá would make time for her. Except she was busy and he was probably also busy. Even if that sounded like a really weak excuse given everything she knew about her family and her papá, it was the only excuse she had so she was sticking to it!
So when her gift started flickering, fading, failing she didn’t stop to think about talking to any of her family members. She just pretended it wasn’t and worked “twice as hard” like Abuela had instructed, because Luisa was the strong one and she could do this. Then her hermanita found her, made her actually talk about her feelings for the first time in a long time, and she’d felt better but also not. Because she knew on a fundamental level that breaks were good, music had pauses for a reason but also the donkeys needed to be corralled and the river needed to be rerouted and the church needed to be moved and and and-
The donkeys were heavy.
Heavy like nothing she could imagine. Heavy like 14 years of constant improvement for nothing. Heavy like her entire sense of purpose was gone in a blink with no fanfare or extravagance just gone.
The river and tilted houses and all the bricks or such were forgotten in an instant because if donkeys were heavy there was no use trying to do anything else. She couldn’t do anything else. She wasn’t anything else. Being The Strong One was all she had. It was all she was, had ever been or would ever be. That was it. And without it?
Without it she was running to Casita sobbing and overwhelmed. Too many feelings battling for dominance and leaving Luisa the loser. She vaguely noted running past her mamá in the kitchen and Abuela y Mirabel in the hall on her way to faceplant on her bed and sob until she had to drag herself out of bed for Isabela’s dinner. Luisa knew how important it was so she could wrangle her feelings and stop crying long enough for her hermana to have what should be one of the best days of her life.
Except that Abuela Guzmán asked Luisa to bring the piano and she’d never really refused a request so she got up, crying into her hands, having to drag it all the way to the dining room and was this how “normal” people felt? Was this what Mirabel felt like? Because this was awful and horrible and she couldn’t even move a piano so she was basically worthless and the entire night was ruined and awful and she’s a total loser and going back to her room because it was finally over.
“Luisa? Can I come in?” The door creaked open, moments after she’d slammed it and flopped onto her bed. No. He could not come in. No one should come in because everything was awful and she wanted to be alone and cry and sob in peace. But her bed was dipping and a hand was rubbing her shoulder. “Ay, Luisa, háblame. Quiero ayudar.” She shook her head, trying to suffocate herself with the pillow. Helping was the problem, she couldn’t help without her gift. And if she couldn’t help she was useless. The End. That’s the full story.
But apparently her papá was in a helping mood because she could feel him shifting on the bed, getting more comfortable and kicking his feet up, his hand kept rubbing her back.
“Take all the time you need,” he said. Which really only made her cry more and that was proof he should just leave her here to cry and suffer alone.
“What if I take forever?” She muttered into the pillow, halfway sobbing and feeling nothing like the 19-year-old mujer she was supposed to be and every bit the niña her papí used to rock to sleep. He hummed somewhere above her.
“Then I suppose forever I shall wait,” he said. She choked on a watery laugh, shifting so one eye could peek out at him. “Not so bad, waiting forever. Just sitting here con mi hija, drying her tears porque she is not a loser.” He smirked down at her and Luisa chuckled again, shifting her pillow to his lap so she could be comfortable while she suffocated. He took that as an opportunity to rub her back and neck and they sat in silence for a while. It was… nice. Even if they could hear Tía Pepa thundering outside and Isabela was probably off somewhere wishing Mirabel was never born and Abuela was definitely very stressed out- Luisa didn’t think about any of it. Her family could handle their own burdens for a few minutes while she came to grips with the fact that her life as she knew it was over and she was as helpful as a spoon with a hole in it.
“Papí… I’m losing my gift,” she whispered. So different from shouting it at Abuela and Mirabel earlier, as she was just realizing the implications. Now, she knew it. It was coming true. Her gift was fading, she was losing her strength.
“Well gift or no gift you’re still a part of this familia and you’re still special,” he said. Which, of course he did. Luisa had heard them say it to Mirabel enough times growing up but this was different. Mirabel never had one. She and Papí couldn’t understand what it was like to lose something they’d never had. It probably sucked to not have one, but it was different! “Even without a gift, you’d be the strongest Madrigal. You’d still be my daughter. One of the best musicians in the Encanto. Blue Crayon Scribble Number 7 is still an amazing piece.” Luisa had to sit up to laugh, choking back tears and coughing while she did.
“We both know Red Crayon Scribble 5 was best,” she retorted, sniffling and rolling her eyes at Papí. He paused to think before kissing her cheek.
“You know what? I think you’re right.” She flopped her head on his shoulder, still sniffling but smiling. He continued rubbing her back till the sniffles died down and then he kissed her forehead.
“Luisa, en serio, even if you lose your gift we’ll still love you. You’ll still be you. You’ll still be my amazing daughter who helps everyone and is so hard-working.” That brought fresh tears to Luisa’s eyes. She didn’t want to lose her gift, but it was nice to know at the very least nothing would change with Papí. Even if she never really expected it to, it was nice to hear aloud.
“Gracias Papí,” she said, not bothering to pick her head up but wrapping him in a hug, then slowly sliding down back to her pillow in his lap. “Pero… ¿Quédate conmigo… por favor?” She whispered into the pillow because all her feelings weren’t fighting anymore but she was tired and the idea still hurt and she didn’t want to be alone.
“Ay, I said forever, didn’t I?” he said. She smiled.

WIDOWER AGUSTIN AU
Base off of @wikluk widow Julieta idea
————————————————————
Luisa is 5 year old and she didn't have a mom. But that's ok. She doesn't need one, she has her Daddy. He's smart and brave and can play the piano and he's silly.
But.......
Luisa look on as the other children get pick up from school by their mommy. She can see them getting hugs and kisses and can see the beautiful women with their long hair and pretty dresses.
Why? Why don't I have a mom? The question burns at her mind. Every time she try to ask her dad that question she stops. To nervous or scared. Once she saw her daddy crying over a photo, she was supposed to be in bed but she had to use the bathroom and she saw him. Her dad keep repeating a women's name and keeps playing with the ring that on his finger.
Luisa didn't want to her see her dad cry again.
Luisa is still looking over at the groups of children being pick up. There, a blurt of pink and purple rushes past her.
Isabela Madrigal.
That girl is older than her AND is a first grader, she smart and older and so pretty. Luisa watches as the girl run over to her mom and fling herself to the older women. Julieta Luisa thinks. She's pretty.
Luisa think that if she could have a mom it would be Isabela's. Her mom is kind and pretty and smart. Isabela's classroom is next door to hers and sometimes she sees Julieta bringing Isabela and her classmates cupcakes and cookies. She smells like bread. She's look soft, like bread.
As Luisa watches she sees her dad! She gives a gasp and bounces on her toes and rushes to meet him. Once she does she accidentally collided into him, knocking them over.
"Ay Agustin, same as always right?"
Luisa look up, she's on her dad's lap. She sees Julieta laughing, trying to hid it behind her hand. She frowns, why is she laughing at her dad?! Turning to face her dad, she stops. Her dad look........odd. He's red and smiling. Why?
"Well I do have to left feet! But now you don't have to worry about patching me up blueberry-" her dad starts to say then stop. His face turns red and she look away.
"Mom? Your red! Are you sick?"
Luisa turn to face the voice, Isabela. She look up and yep, Julieta is also red. Weird..
"Blueberry? Oh, you have call me that since we were teens honeycomb."
Her dad makes a strangled noise, the. He gently lift her up and stands, placed her into his hip. Well, try to, she slip, can't seem to wrap her legs around him. Julieta laughs.
"We're are you heading to? I....I didn't realized you had a daughter.."
Before her dad can explain Luisa piped up; "I'm Luisa Rojas! I'm 3."
Julieta smiles then she puts her hand onto of Isabela's head. "This is my daughter Isabel Madrigal, she's 6."
Julieta then takes her hand off of Isabela's head and slips in into Isabela's hand. "Isa and I were going to the park......Care to join us?"
Luisa can feel her dad's heartbeat, thump, thump, thumping. "Ah, we, we were actually going there as well. I promise Lulu to take her there today."
Luisa worms her way out of her dad's arms, jumping down she reaches into her backpack and pull out her toy, a unicorn-donkey name BooBoo.
"Isa! This is BooBoo, he's a unicorn and a donkey! Want to play with him?" She ask, lightly shoving the toy into the older girl's face. Isabela wrinkled her nose then look up at her mom, who just gave a sharp look.
"Ok.....But he needs flowers. He's ugly and flowers will make him pretty. I know flower do you have to follow my lead ok?"
She nods and grabs Isabela hand, leading them in front of the adults.
"Isabela, behave. Luisa is younger than you, be nice."
"Not so rough Lulu! You don't want to hurt Isabela."
The two adult chime at their children. The girls just shot an "ok!" Before rushing a bit further down the sidewalk and started talking.
That left Agustin and Julieta alone. Together.
As the they walk Agustin keep giving little glances at Julieta. It's been what, 8? Maybe more years since they last seen each other. While Julieta looks the same, little differences where there. No wedding ring being the biggest. Or rather, the it was the indent of one once being there that was the biggest. Agustin felt himself frown at that. Why didn't she have her ring on?
"It's been a while...How have you been Gus?"
Agustin jump a little at Julieta voice. It was still soft and sweet, but sound sad. That didn't fit the Julieta he remembers, the girl that sang and who's voice spoke with a gentleness. Agustin caught Julieta's eye. She keep making side glances at his hand, at his wedding ring. He noticed.
"Who's the lucky lady?" She ask, gesturing with her head to his hand. He chuckled, sadly.
"My Rose.....She's, she's gone. Fire." He explained. He watch as Julieta stop walking and turn toward him. She grab his hand, his non-ring one and squeezed it. She also look sad.
"My Pablo.....He's gone as well. Car crash. How...how long was it ago? Ay, for me it was 2 years ago. Isa.....Isa only as a few memories of him."
Agustin squeeze her hand back, he felt his eyes go misty. "3 years. Luisa was a newborn, Rose just got back to work at the hospital when the fire......It, it's been rough. Luisa never got to meet her mom, or rather remember her that is. How's Isabela handling things? Are your siblings helping?"
Julieta let go of his hand, she brought her hands toward her chest and shrug, not answering. She look back toward the children. "We better caught up to them..."
"Yeah....We should."
The two still stood there, lost in thought. "Dove?"
Soft brown eyes look into his, "yes?"
A ghost of a smile was on Agustin face. Even after all these years Julieta still answered to that pet name. His pet name for her.
"Do you still have my number? Since the girls are close in age maybe....maybe they can have play dates. And....And we can get some coffee? Or tea. Ginger and lemon, your favorite right?"
Julieta gave a soft smile, "I do. I have it I mean. And your correct. You prefer black coffee, right? And, yeah I think the girls playing is a wonderful idea."
The two started to walk again, catching up to the girls who were now on the grass playing with the flowers. The two adults found a bench and decided to share it. They were close enough to lay their heads together, but neither one dare to. It felt odd, to be so close to a person you once love, but don't have that same connection anymore. It was something different now. Something sadder.
The two stay that way until the sun started to set and the girls got to tired. With once finally look and a longing stare the two apart.
Hopefully they can see each other again.

Encanto Headcanons 🕯🥙⛅⏳🔊🌺💪🦎🦋🐆
Pedro would sing Dos Oruguitas to Alma and the babies when they were either upset or falling asleep. After Pedro's death, Alma would be the one to sing it to the triplets. It was also the song they played at their wedding. (And yes I know this doesn't make literal sense but I just thought it would be beautiful to give the song even more of a significant meaning💖).
Sometimes Abuela Alma falls back into the habit of being too hard on the family and expecting more from them than possible. She either catches it herself or someone needs to call her out on it. She often does apologize afterwards without making any excuses
Pepa wasn't actually angry at Bruno for long after the wedding thing, deep down she knew it was a misunderstanding and she felt so guilty for how she reacted towards him. It was just easier to blame Bruno and not take responsibility for her own hurricane because everyone blamed him anyway and accepted the truth would have been extremely painful especially after he left. That's why she didn't want to talk about him, she knew it would cause a storm because of her becoming overwhelmed with guilt and sadness. She hid very well behind a wall of anger.
Speaking of Bruno leaving, Julieta and Pepa kind of switched emotional roles for a while. Julieta was the one having crying spells and being very outwardly upset and Pepa was the one trying her best to hold it in and move on. It snowed for months because of her cold attitude and growing numbness to the situation.
Isabella avoids walking behind Bruno in the kitchen/dining table. There were too many times where he accidentally threw salt in her face and small plants would fly out of her nose and mouth.
Since Isabella and Mirabel made up, Isa has been trying her best to get to actually know Mirabel, she feels like she failed her and Luisa both majorly.
You know how Luisa takes care of that man's donkeys? Yeah, they're basically hers now 😅. She is the only one who those donkeys will listen to (besides Antonio because he can actually communicate with them), she even has her own names for them.
Antonio has his own little obedience school with his animals, teaching them about how to interact with the human world even though others can't understand them and teaching them to be gentle creatures. (You know, in the best way a five year old can teach 😅)
Julieta has an area in the village that she works at that is a mixture of a bakery and a hospital. If someone has a lethal injury or is unconscious, they have to be rushed to the back and given a feeding tube. Julieta used to allow unharmed people in as well just so they can get something to eat but it became far too much for her to handle so now she just has to let injured or sick people in since that is most of her clientele anyway.
Unfortunately Agustin needs to be extremely careful being around Isabella during spring and early summer, bees surround her. 😅
Mariano reads his poetry to Delores to help her sleep💖 her room is also soundproof though she can still hear things close by.
Camilo definitely uses a lot of humor to hide his issues, often times it works but he will eventually break down into tears and even lash out. He'll turn into someone everyone perceives to be intimidating to try and make people leave him alone (the family knows him enough to not fall for it but that won't stop him from trying).
Mirabel made stuffed animals for everyone before and after Casita was rebuilt. She even sewed Isa a dress ^-^. Yellow butterflies practically live inside of her room also and follow her like they're her guides 💛.
Félix will sing and dance with Pepa and the kids to make them feel better. Him and Agustin will also just start randomly dancing and playing music sometimes and it's so wholesome 😅.
Bruno's room is a lot better than it was since Casita was rebuilt. He doesn't have those god awful stairs or a fricking canyon in the ground anymore 💖. It's a lot more cozy and calming to help Bruno relax. Also his eyes don't only glow when he has visions, they also glow when he feels intense emotion or feels really sick.
Even though a lot of people make jokes about blowing out the candle, it can't be blown out 😅 it only goes out when something bad is happening between the family and or to the magic.

Oh yeah, before I forget (again)!
Could I possibly request an angsty Camilo x fem!Reader fic? You write them REALLY well.
Maybe based around the quote “it wasn’t supposed to go this far, I swear”, where the reader comes from outside the Encanto entirely and inadvertently causes some, er, problems..? It’s pretty open ended, so be as self-indulgent as you want! Good day o7
-🧡
Far: Camilo x Fem reader
Summary: You are visiting some family in the mountainous village of Encanto and accidentally fall in love with a mischievous shapeshifter....
Genre: Angst
Notes: Thank you 🧡 anon! When I first read this, my plan was to have the reader die, but I've also done a lot of death fics recently so I decided to just have them move away.
Warnings: NOT A HAPPY ENDING (SORRY), CRYING, ANGSTY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You came to the town of Encanto to visit your Abuela who lived there. Her health was deteriorating and wanted her son, your father, by her side when she died. You were going with your mother and father because they didn't trust you at home by yourself.
You arrived in town and you were greeted by your Abuela and the Madrigal family. As the family in charge of Encanto, they made it their responsibility to greet visitors and newcomers. You stuck your head out of the traveling wagon and immediately smiled. The village was colorful and filled with wonder. There were flowers on every balcony and the houses were beautifully decorated.
The wagon rumbled to a stop as you reached your Abuela's house. The Madrigal's were gathered by the door with your Abuela in front. As soon as you saw them, one caught your eye. He was tall, lanky, and had a constant smile on his face. His hair was light brown and curly and freckles lined his cheeks underneath his green eyes. He was beautiful.
You exited the wagon and grabbed your suitcase. You walked over to your Abuela who was sitting in a wheelchair. You gave her a tight hug and introduced yourself to the Madrigal's.
"Hola! I'm Y/N L/N! My dad said that everyone in your family had some sort of gift?"
They all politely nodded and smiled at you. They each went around saying their names and gifts.
"I'm Senora Madrigal, the matriarch Encanto."
She gave you a warm smile and looked over at your parents.
"I'm Julieta, Encanto's resident healer. I can heal people with food."
She handed you an arepa and as you ate, the cramps in your legs from sitting for so long went away.
"I'm Pepa, and I can change the weather with my emotions."
There was already a bright sun over her head, but it grew brighter when she saw how big you smiled.
"I'm Bruno and I can see the future."
The shy man peeked out from around his sisters and waved at you. You waved back.
"I'm Isabela and I can grow plants out of thin air."
She made a daisy crown fall on your head while a small cactus grew next to her.
"I'm Dolores and I have enhanced hearing."
You smiled at her as she giggled at something your parents said.
"What is it?"
"Your parents are just happy you're being social."
You giggled and looked to Luisa.
"I'm Luisa and I have enhanced strength."
Luisa picked you up and placed you on her shoulders. She placed you back down in front of the beautiful boy you saw earlier, but he couldn't speak. He was staring at you, mouth practically on the floor.
"Uh..I'm....I'm...."
"I'm Mirabel and the one patheticly trying to talk and staring at you like a dead fish is mi primo, Camilo. He can shapeshift and I don't really have a gift, but I can explain that later."
She elbows Camilo and he sputters, switching in between you, Mirabel, and his parents. His face gets a bit stuck and Mirabel nugdes him.
"Gosh, now he really is a dead fish. Fix your face, Camilo."
You laugh as he clears his throat and changes back. He give you a shy wave and you blush.
"..H-h-hi.... I'm Camilo...."
You blushed harder and looked down to Antonio.
"I'm Antonio and I can talk to animals!"
He beamed up at you in the way only a six year old could.
"Oh? And what do the animals say?"
"They say that you look really pretty today!"
Camilo nodded.
"Yeah, she does."
He clamped a hand over his mouth in disbelief at his words. Mirabel elbowed him again, a teasing look on her face. Your face was redder than a tomato and you thought you might overheat and just keel over and die.
Your parents noticed and smiled as they talked to your Abuela and Alma.
"Our family would love to give yours a tour when your ready for it. Camilo loves giving them and meeting new people."
She gave your parents a wink and smiled at you and Camilo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were stunning. The moment you walked out of the wagon, Camilo couldn't stop staring. Your hair bounced as you walked, your eyes drawing him in to your soul. After you walked out and said your name, he tuned everything else out. He saw everyone else greet you, but didn't hear a thing except for your voice. In that moment, nothing else existed to him.
Luisa placed you down in front of him and he couldn't speak. He tried opening his mouth to talk to you, but nothing came out.
"Uh...I'm....I'm..."
Mirabel took over introducing him and he felt his powers take over when she elbowed him. When he heard your laugh, he could've flown. Right then and there, he made a vow to hear that laugh everyday for the rest of his life.
He watched you talk with Antonio and unexpected words came out of his mouth.
"Yeah, she is."
His voice was dreamy and he clasped his hand over his mouth, shocked. Did I really just say that? Nononononono.... I wasn't supposed to do that.....
He was having a bit of a panic attack until he heard your laugh again. He saw you walk away with your parents and Abuela. You turned back and waved at him. He waved back and kept waving until he couldn't see you anymore.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You couldn't stop thinking about him. You'd been in town for more than a week, but he wouldn't leave your mind. His smile was brighter than Pepa's happy days, his eyes deep green pools you couldn't help falling into. You walked through town, head in the clouds. You weren't quite sure where you were going, because you hadn't taken up the Madrigal's on their offer of a tour yet. You were trying to get to Casita as it was recognizance and also where the Madrigal's lived.
You knocked on the door and Camilo answered the door. He took one look at you and accidentally slammed the door out of impulse. Mirabel heard the noise and went to investigate. She saw Camilo breathing heavily by the door. He threw open the and saw a very confused you.
"I'm so sorry! I don't know why I did that! You just surprised me and I wasn't expecting you when I opened the door and now I'm rambling....."
Your shock from the door wore off as he went on and you just laughed. You couldn't stop and he looked over to you, confused and a bit concerned.
"Y/N?"
"I'm sorry for laughing, this is just so funny! I mean, like you're just really cute-"
He smiled and blushed at you.
"Well, am I right to assume that you are not here for me to shut the door in your face?"
"Yes, I'm here because your Abuela said that you could take me and my family on a tour. My parents said that I could just go so they could stay with my Abuela."
"Oh, I don't know. Mirabel usually gives the tours....."
"You could do it though, right?"
"That sounds great!"
Mirabel interrupted Camilo before he could he say anything else.
"Oh, Mirabel what if you went with us?"
"Oh I would love to, but will you look at the time? I have so many chores to do...I better just leave you with Camilo."
She smirked at him whispered something you couldn't hear. He nodded and started the tour.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Camilo was walking around Casita, doing some of his chores there and heard a knock at the door. He opened it and saw you. He immediately slammed the door. What is she doing here?! I didn't know that she was coming! If I had known, I would have..... Dios mio! I just slammed the door in her face!
He opened the door and saw your face. It was as beautiful as he remembered it and he rushed to apologize.
"I'm so sorry! I don't know why I did that! You just surprised me and I wasn't expecting you when I opened the door and now I'm rambling, and you're really cute, and I can't stop talking, Mirabel please make me stop....."
He finally noticed that you were just laughing as he continued on.
"Y/N?"
When you looked back up at him, he thought his heart would burst.
"I'm sorry for laughing, this is just so funny! I mean, like you're just really cute-"
He smiled. THAT CONFIMS IT. I LOVE THIS GIRL SO MUCH....but I can't. She has to leave after her Abuela passes. This can't work..... He cleared his throat and started to talk when he composed himself
"Well, am I right to assume that you are not here for me to shut the door in your face?"
You smiled and he couldn't do anything except stare. He had already memorized every aspect of your face, but seeing it in person instead of in his head was so much better. He heard you mention the tour and got nervous.
"Oh, I don't know. Mirabel usually gives the tours....."
You looked up hopefully at him.
"You could do it though, right?"
"That sounds great!"
Mirabel seemed to appear out of nowhere. He was thankful she came though. She interrupted him about to say something stupid.
"Oh, Mirabel what if you went with us?"
He looked back to Mirabel, pleading with his eyes. She saw and sighed.
"Oh I would love to, but will you look at the time? I have so many chores to do...I better just leave you with Camilo."
He gave a sigh of relief. She came and whispered in his ear so you couldn't hear.
"You owe me. Have fun though."
He nodded and smiled at you, ready to start the tour.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That was the best tour you'd ever been on in your life. Granted, you hadn't been on very many, but this one would top all of them. Camilo was so expressive and would make everyone smile as he walked past.
You got lost in his voice so many times. You could've closed your eyes and fallen asleep to the sound of his voice. You guys spent the rest of the day together, talking and joking about different things. That night, when he went home, Camilo went up to his room and changed into you in front of his mirror. He laughed with your voice, but then he started blushing so heavily he looked like an apple.
After the day of the tour, there was almost never a day that you guys weren't together. Everyday, he would tell himself that you would have to leave eventually and that you weren't going to be there forever. But he wouldn't listen to himself. You were only in town for about four months, but the two of you made those four months last.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day you left was very emotional for both of you. You both cried and sobbed into each other.
"I don't want you to go. I don't want you to leave me."
"I don't want that either, but what choice do I have? My parents won't let me stay here with you. I have to go home."
"Will you at least write me?"
"Everyday."
He gave you one last hug before you got on the same wagon that brought you there to begin with. It held such a happy memory of when you first saw him and now it will hold the last time.
You got home and everyday wrote him a letter and waited for his, but they never came. You wouldn't find out for a very long time, but your parents would never send yours and kept all of his. They just wanted you to get over him, but instead they broke you.

What I loved about Encanto: Spoilers Ahead!!
@a-couple-of-bees
little baby Mirabel getting ready for her ceremony and Casita helping her with her shoes 🥺
Casita helping Mirabel again with her shoes and when she’s getting ready!
Just Casita and Mirabel’s relationship, i love how Mirabel's always chatting with Casita!
The color palette is stunning, I love that Julieta and Pepa both have their specific colors that their kids wear
I loved Camilo and Dolores, and they absolutely needed more screen time!
I would lay down my life for Antonio 🥺 he was so so precious, and his relationship with Mirabel is absolutely adorable
When he reached out his hand to her and said "i need you"???? that honestly tells you all you need to know about their relationship, and I was sobbing because he just needed his prima to be with him
"Waiting for a Miracle" was absolutely stunning, and is probably one of my favorite Disney "I Want" songs!
just the way everyone's emotions are so clear on their faces!!
BRUNO BRUNO BRUNO
I love how he goes from basically what Camilo describes, this mythical being, to probably one of the sweetest people I've ever seen, and you can see when Mirabel's realization sets in
I love Bruno and Mirabel's relationship so so much, it's so sweet, and you can just tell that he loves his sobrina more than anything.
Also, Bruno's table and his plate??? I was completely sobbing
Antonio just showing up like the sweet little angel he is and offering his room to his favorite prima and his rat uncle that he's never met 🥺
Isabella's entire song was beautiful, and I love how it took about half the song for her and Mirabel to fully reconcile. Isabella needed to have her own moment to realize what was going on, and it was perfect.
I forgot to add Agustín speaking up against Abuela and defending his daughter, the fathers in this movie own my heart
The entire scene next to the river, I was crying, and it was absolutely beautiful when Mirabel realized that this is what Bruno's vision was describing, her reconciling with Alma
BRUNO RACING IN READY TO DEFEND MIRABEL AND TAKE THE BLAME AND NOT EVEN THINKING BECAUSE HE LOVES HER AND HIS FAMILY
Alma calling him "Brunito" and his confused but happy face 🥺
The triplets reuniting and the sisters just throwing themselves at their baby brother (shh i know they're triplets but Bruno is much shorter than them and he's the youngest of the trio)
MIRABEL'S DOOR BEING CASITA'S FRONT DOOR 🥺
Mirabel replacing the doorknob and the moment mirroring hers and Antonio's gift ceremonies 😭😭
Isabella, Luisa, and Mirabel finally just getting to be sisters and having their moment together!!
Bruno being back with his family!!
Literally, the entire movie was beautiful, i cried the entire time, and i would absolutely recommend that everyone go see it.
people who've seen it add your own favorite moments because i definitely forgot some!!

May i ask what Mirabel's funeral was like? I know a certain someone is screaming and crying her eyes out when they lower her coffin and by the end of the day, her tears are still streaming down her face.
Yeah... You can only imagine–
It's a sunny beautiful day and you're angry because how the weather can be so nice when in a matter of minutes you need to say goodbye to your baby.
The sun is falling on your skin and t's warm, and it's drying your cheeks. Because of that light, you're feeling exposed. You're feeling like every pair of eyes is on you. It's probably true. After all, you're the grieving mother who's burying her child, and people stare at you because you're a sobbing, trembling mess and they're looking at you with pity and sympathy.
So yeah, Mirabel's funeral was on a sunny day, and Julieta was the loudest one out there, held close by Agustin. Pepa and Luisa were crying too. Isabela, Alma and Dolores were quiet and composed but no less distraught, Camilo and Felix were crying silently and Antonio... Antonio was confused but he also cried when he realised he would never see Mirabel again.
Almost the whole village was there. They wanted to pay respects to Mirabel. But at the hill, witnessing the coffin being lowered to the ground, there was only the family and the friends of the Madrigals. It was more private than the Mass at church, definitely.
In the end, it's almost impressive how many tears Julieta produced that day. She probably had an awful headache and was dehydrated but who thinks about such things when their baby is dead? Agustin does, he always cares for his wife, our man.
And then... Bruno came back.
If you think she spent the whole day afterwards curled in her bed with her siblings only to sleep through the night with her husband and their daughters near... Yeah, you're right.
And nothing was the same ever again.

My Encanto character tier list.
A full breakdown with the exact ranking:
1) Isabela(goes without saying)
2) Dolores(I want a sequel starring her so badly!)
3) Mirabel(relatable protagonist who wears glasses and is the black sheep, count me in! also, skirt go S W O O S H !)
4) Camilo(my favorite male character, cute and fun with a nice voice and equally nice hair, terrible gift, though)
5) Luisa(who doesn’t love strong women? especially strong women who get to be gentle, empathetic, and feminine at the same time without it being ironic or contradictory to their character? I also like her song.)
6) Pepa(favorite adult, awesome gift, very pretty, and has the best personality, also learns to embrace her emotions by the end and no but her and Felix are madly in love and if you deny that then I will fistfight you and I will win.)
7) Julieta(the prettiest adult, I love soft nurturing housewife types, I like her gift, too, and she is such a loving mother to Mirabel! Julieta is also a beautiful name, ngl.)
8) Agustin(adult Camilo, funny guy)
9) Abuela(she is sympathetic and her hardships make me cry, but was she in the right? No.)
10) Felix(loving relationship with Pepa, allows her to feel and never once condescends her, and finally a dark-skinned fat Black guy who is portrayed as gentle and caring and shows up for his family!)
11) Antonio(he’s cute but there’s not all that much too him and I like his gift and all but I feel like his cuteness is played up a little too much, it’s kind of annoying tbh.)
12) Bruno(sad backstory, quirky and funny, the song about him was lit, would love to see his relationship with Dolores portrayed more, but other than that I sadly can’t say anything about him, he doesn’t really interest me that much. sorry.)

Encanto Au but this time with Alma and Mirabel
Look I know i should be working on my Mariano and Dolores Fanfic but I have a bad case of writers block.
Also i don't know what to write for Bruno and Pepa (sorry)
Summary: Alma is preparing to go with the family to the river where they obtained their miracle, Pedro's Death Day.
Tumblr media
For the past 6 years The Madrigal Family goes to the river just outside the Encanto to honor the life of Abuelo Pedro, but no matter how many times Alma goes there it's still hard. When her children were growing up she would tell them stories about their deceased father and how excited he was to meet them, but now having this day where its so hard for her to put on a brave front, where she must open up and talk about the tragedy that befell her and her babies it takes adjusting. She walked through the house making sure everyone was okay and ready. First She would start with Julieta and Agustin, Julieta started cooking because she enjoyed it and not just because of it's healing properties, she would always try new recipes and she was much more relaxed about making mistakes in the kitchen Agustin and Julieta started dancing on fridays to unwind. "Julieta it's almost time." Alma said walking in on Julieta and Agustin laughing. She enjoyed see her daughter so happy, she remembered when Julieta said that she needed to take a break sometimes it This came as a shock to Alma because Julieta had never complained about it but after they lost their gifts and Julieta didn't have to cook it open up some opportunities for relaxation. "Alright Mamá, I'll be out in a minute." Julieta said in between chuckles. Alma smiled and walked over too Dolores and Mariano room she knocked on the door not wanting to walk in on anything like when they first started dating. "Dolores, may I come in?" "Come on in Abuela." Dolores said from the other side of the door. Alma walked in to see Mariano with a tissue in his hand wiping away tears. "What's the matter?" Alma asked concerned. "Everything is alright Abuela, me and Mariano have something exciting to share we've decided to have a baby, Mariano is just a little bit emotional." Alma signed in relief "What wonderful news." "Sí, having the new baby in house convenienced us to start trying." Dolores said holding Mariano hand while he wiped away tears. "Sounds like Antonio and Camilo are ready, we'll meet you at the river Abuela." Mariano and Dolores walked to meet Antonio who is becoming quite the gentleman and Camilo who is now doing stand up comedy on Tuesdays and Saturdays sometimes using his shapeshifting sometimes not it was something he struggled with after losing his gift making people laugh but he soon learned that he didn't need his gift to make people smile and laugh out loud. Now on to Isabela after knocking on her and coming she looked around the room for her there she was making white chrysanthemums and Catalinas Pedro's favorite flowers 'No' She was not crying before she even got too the river. "Isabela, it's almost time to leave." "I know i'm sorry Abuela i fell asleep and I had completely forgotten about making the chrysanthemums." "It's alright, don't worry about it." It did take awhile to get use to the imperfect Isabela, seeing her genuine beauty and smile made Alma feel sorry about putting her in that tiny box of being perfect, just then Luisa came in holding what had to be twenty tables. "Abuela I've been looking for you, I have the tables for the food i didn't know if you wanted the same ones from last year or i have these new ones?" "Well, today represents the birth of Casita we should have new ones." said Isabela finishing the last of the chrysanthemums. "The ones form last year are fine Luisa, and remember you don't have to overdo it." Alma reminded. "I know Abuela, so to be clear old tables?" "Sí" Luisa walked out the flowery room with both sets of tables in one hand. "Abuela." Isabela said looking at Alma with concern. "Are you alright? We can talk before we leave." Isabela offer in kind soothing voice. "I'll be alright Isa, now you finish getting ready I'll get Mirabel." Alma said as she walked off looking at the picture of Pedro in her watch. She made her way to Mirabel's door, she knocked lightly. "Come in." Mirabel said softly Alma opened the door quietly as open the frame of wood with butterflies on it Alma saw Mirabel sitting on edge of the bed holding a little baby
in her lap. The newborn was half asleep looking up at his mother who was smiling down at him. "Are you sure you won't take him." Alma asked Mirabel. "Yes I'm sure he's still so small, when he's a year old maybe." Mirabel replyed. "Are you sure you should you gave birth only 7 weeks ago, maybe you should rest." Alma remembered the day Mirabel went into labor it was a tough one starting in the afternoon going well into the night. The midwifes and Alma feared that she wouldn't make it. Giving birth was already a trip to hell and back with death always lurking around the corner, Alma, Julieta, Luisa and Isabel all took holding her hand and comforting her Luisa only helping once after seeing how much pain Mirabel was in she couldn't go back in the room. Finally Mirabel did give birth with Julieta and Isabela at her side a healthy son came into the world, almost at the cost of her life but when Mirabel saw the tiny newborn she started crying and promised to always be there for the sweet baby she named Carlos Romero Madrigal. The memory reminded that Alma how strong Mirabel was. "I'll be fine Abuela." said Mirabel standing up with Carlos In her arms laying him down in his bassinet that had butterflies on painted on them done by his mother herself, Alma remembered that Mirabel didn't want Carlos to sleep in anyone else's arms but Raaj the baby's father insisted that he sleep in the bassinet. "Raaj, will be here too look after the baby I'm not missing today." "Alright but if you feel unwell tell us." Alma putting one hand on Mirabel's shoulder. "And if you need to talk to someone talk to us, we're here for you." Mirabel said as they walked down the steps outside the room making their way outside Is catching up to the rest of the family.
