MORE GUSH PASS FOR YOU BC YOU'VE BEEN ENJOYING THEM SO MUCH AND I'VE BEEN ENJOYING READING THEM!!! 🎟️🎟️🎟️
also thank u for ur tags on the kylilah wedding fic i'm ;A; waAaAaAAAA meliora crying.png ilysm
TY I LOVE YOU and i love abusing these gush passes so much when i'm like "i need to write a whole essay right now to express my feelings or i will set myself on fire" so guess what you're about to get.
But anyhows~ of course!! ^7^ kylilah wedding fic was just so cute how could I resist reading all of it and commenting? the writing was just so beautiful and so perfect ;; v;;
I accidentally went off to Sophia about Birthright!Leo specifically and yes, sure, I haven't touched Fates in a while (last time I did I'm pretty sure it was for. March? OR FOR LEO'S BIRTHDAY ACTUALLY.), and I genuinely thought I forgot everything tbh because of fixation on coughs Other Matters coughs but talking to Sophia and watching myself slip a bunch of thoughts made me go "ohhhh oh no you're still insane about Fates and Leo specifically... cool cool cool cool-"
Something that'll always come to mind when it comes to Leo is just how much internal conflict the guy must have with feeling like he has to Fit A Specific Function to matter to anyone but also wanting to have someone to talk to - someone who wouldn't put him down for being "weak." And when the "fitting a specific function" is the "reliable one" or the "strong one", then it becomes hard to really allow himself a chance to really allow himself to be vulnerable. He basically creates his own issues this way and it sucks more because I feel like this only gets worse for Birthright!Leo who later becomes king and now the whole country's relying on him. Like how does that play out for a guy with his whole complex exactly?
There was a "work in progress" fic that I had wanted to write that basically was supposed to be a snapshot of his life growing up, following after him and this Need to be Needed, coming from his time with his mom and the way I thought about how she must have raised him and how that plays into who he is today, but I think that fic got shot up in flames due to New Knowledge Acquired That Made Me Want To Stab the Fic With a Knife. normal. real normal snow. Which I will not get into because I actually didn't finish the whole context because I was just eheh~ a littleeee~ mad but that's fine lmao we're fine lolololol we're totally cool 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼(sobbing on the floor)
He's very fun to write for this reason though. Finding ways to balance out between this internal struggle at a given situation makes him very very attractive to write lol At least I try my best to do so anyhow haha I don't necessarily feel that my writing does him a disservice, but I do feel like it borders between weighing in too much into certain aspects of his character instead of holding the true weight he has, but that's a conflict I'm willing to put up with if it means getting to explore his character a little more in my head lmao
And sorry to track back, but I also think a lot about like. the affection with his family. I think a lot about how in his support with Corrin and Camilla, he expresses how much he wished to have the same attention that Corrin does; he just isn't sure how to do it unless the emotions were bubbling from his mouth and he speaks at a breaking point, to which he'll try to mend it with a "Apologies. That was unlike me. Anyways-" and tries to move onto something else LITERALLY JUST TALK DUDE!!!!!! COMMUNICATE WHAT YOU NEED!!!!!!!!!!
But he doesn't. He doesn't because time's told him that if he voices his own weakness he will get punished for it. It's something that I had contemplated specifically about how he was raised by his mom, and only to find out that that is also something he was raised to believe within the royal family (via the voice drama that I had to actually stop watching because I was just sad). He can't allow himself to be weak because he is always expected to be strong.
And for that reason, the name "Leo" is very fitting for him, I think. There's a really really good fanartist's comic on his name and it definitely contributed to the way I appreciate his naming and temporarily served as inspiration for the way I was going to take the fic, but you know. Didn't go anywhere.
I also just wish he knew he was loved. It's very clear his family loves him, but the way he was raised misconstrues this "love" for "shame". Yes we all tease Leo because he's so strict on himself and it's nice to see him have little flaws here and there. We poke fun at it and all, but how does that feel for Leo who's probably had his flaws shamed most if not all his life? It's the reason why he's so strict on himself after all, and they wonder why it is he's so strict on himself.
Anyways. Long story short, and quite the winding road, I love Leo's character a lot. I kinda forgot how much I did until Sophia and my conversation kinda wandered over to Fates talk and then Leo and I had to sit down and cry for like. Several paragraphs apparently about it
And the thing is, I'm not exactly sure if this is all intentional writing or if I just fixated so hard and made stuff up that this is the version that makes the most sense to me for his character. At the very least, all of this serves as the backbone to the way I write him. And as I said: it's very fun :)
But anyways, TY for the ask

Let’s have a baby
yandere!EraserMicx PREGNANT!Reader
A terrible mix up leading to an accidental pregnancy? Or something more intentional? Either way now you were pregnant with (none other than the beloved power couple heroes) Eraserhead and Present Mic’s child. Time to discuss how co parenting is going to work.
TW: pregnancy, artificial insemination, yandere elements, mentions of stalking, alludes to potential custody battle
You had been avoiding the two men for the past week, which was challenging seeing as they managed to find your phone number, address, and place of work. Any time you blocked their calls they got a new number. Two Pro Heroes versus a twenty something civilian, it was only a matter of time until you were cornered.
Now the couple stood between you and your apartment. You had a long shift at your job as a pet groomer and just wanted to get some rest.
Present Mic was the first to speak. "Hey lil momma, we heard you had work today so we brought you some dinner. We thought we could talk over a nice meal."
You had no response. You were tired, both physically and emotionally. You had been put through the ringer ever since meeting them at your doctors office. It was a total Jane the Virgin situation. You went in for an assessment about some supposed ovarian cysts and unknowing left artificially inseminated. There was a supposed mix up, a digital glitch that somehow merged your chart with the surrogates - apparently your names were super similar. Two weeks later you were called back into the doctor's office and informed of what took place. And now you were in this living nightmare.
And the two heroes had nothing to do with the error. There was totally a surrogate. They hadn't paid off your provider. And why would they? You had never met them - although given their patrols they may have seen you once or twice...
They were tearful when they were informed of the mix up, they had been waiting patiently through the whole process and now everything was thrown in chaos. They offered to compensate you for your service which sent you into a blind rage. They just assumed you would carry a child, a child with half of your DNA, and then give YOUR baby away. Rationally you understood that they had planned to be be the only parents to the child, but that was with a professional surrogate who understood the process, who didn't want the child in their life, just happy to help out a loving couple. But that wasn't you, you grew up wanting to be a mom, and now they would take that from you.
What if they tried to legally take sole custody of the baby? Surely they had some pull in the judicial system. Besides, they were a solid couple with money, while you were alone with no family and working two jobs. The thought made you sick to your stomach.
You were shaking as you tried to push past them. Maybe they would just disappear if you ignored them, a girl could dream. But instead they tagged along inside. Albeit you weren’t fighting them on it, you knew this had to happen eventually.
Aizawa easily found the cluttered dining table in your small apartment. You flinched when the loud one tried to help you shrug off your backpack. Taking a seat on the couch you waited for them to start berating you.
"Come sit at the table, dinner is getting cold," Eraser spoke for the first time.
"I'll eat later, I'm not hungry."
"You may not be, but the baby needs to eat."
You glared, how dare they insinuate you didn't know what your child needed. If your body was hungry, you ate. If you were full the baby was full too.
But, you complied, not wanting to argue, "Fine, but I ate a snack not too long ago."
As you ate, Mic kept you company, picking at some left overs, they clearly ate before their visit. Aizawa was rummaging through your place but you managed to hold your tongue until he began throwing things out of your fridge.
"What are you doing?" You hissed, getting up out of your seat.
"Mic and I will bring you groceries tomorrow. The food you have is barely safe for an adult, let alone a fetus."
"Are you kidding me? It's not like I'm chugging alcohol and living off Twinkies. Hey! I just bought those turkey slices. How is turkey bad?" You whined.
To make sure you wouldn't dig the food out trash he dumped it out of his container.
"Zashi, don't let me forget to empty the trash on our way out. Do you know how much salt is in deli meat? And there's no way you can drink any of this while you're pregnant." He gestures to the cans of soda.
As the frustration built you had to fight back tears. They couldn't come in to your home and start throwing out your things.
"Some of us don't make ridiculous money, I'm buying what I can afford and the doctor never had any problem with my health." You hissed.
Hizashi felt the tension thickening, "Hey hey hey, it's okay. Sho and I will go get you some good stuff. We just gotta watch out for you and baby."
And that was the end of your resolve, you stomped past the Hero and locked yourself in your bedroom. Finally tears began to drip down your cheeks.
Back in your kitchen Mic was chiding his boyfriend for being so tough on you.
"So I should just back down while she stuffs herself with junk food?"
Mic gave him a shrug, showing him a bottle on your counter, "At lest she's taking her prenatal vitamins?"
Grabbing the keys to your apartment Aizawa instructed Mic to wait with you while he got you better groceries. He would make copies of your keys on his was back.
You prayed they would leave soon. You were laying in your bed having cried yourself out. Barely into your second month of pregnancy. You still had to endure this for at least seven more months, but most likely much longer.
Next thing you knew you were opening your eyes and the clock read seven AM. By now your uninvited guests must be gone. Nervously you sat up, praying that you'd skip the morning sickness just once this week. You had always had a weak stomach and even the doctor was surprised you were already experiencing the symptom. Unfortunately the minute your feet touched the floor you knew what was coming. You sprinted to the restroom, not even checking to see if the duo had left.
God this was terrible, you didn't just hate throwing up, you were terrified of it. What if you started and never stopped? But it did come to an end. You wiped the water from your eyes and took a moment before standing from the floor. You screamed when a hand slid under your arm, helping you up. Another set of feet rushed to the bathroom.
" What's wrong?" Hizashi huffed as he skid to a stop.
You pulled arm free from Aizawa's grasp. "What are you two still doing here?"
You turned in the faucet to rinse your mouth. Trying to calm your stress, the nausea was trying to return.
Undeterred the scruff pulled your hair into a bun before rubbing your back. You debated returning to bed but that wouldn't get them out of your apartment. You told them you need to sit down, both of them nodding, still wearing their concerned expressions. They got you a glass of water before joining you on the couch. Stubborn men, you sat at the end of the couch so they couldn't both sit, but Mic decided to perch himself on the armrest.
He started petting your hair, "You feelin better little listener?" You nodded in response.
"I got you more food, let us know if your hungry."
You sighed in defeat, "I'm barely two months pregnant, I can fend for myself. What did you all want to talk about?"
You anxiously placed a hand on your stomach. Both men felt their hearts flutter recognizing your maternal instincts kicking in.
Aizawa let Mic begin, he was the more gentle of the two.
"Well, we figured we got off to a rough start. You got put in a tough situation. We shouldn't have assumed you didn't want a child so we're not mad at how you stormed out. But either way we expect to be in our baby's life. The two of us talked it over and we don't want to fight you if you want to be in their life too. So if you wanna be the mommy we're cool with it."
You could blame your reaction on your hormones for your response but you didn't, "Geez thank you so much for allowing me to be in MY child's life."
Aizawa placed a hand on the back of your neck, giving you a gentle massage. "Okay then, the three of us are gonna have a baby. That means you have to stop ignoring us. We can raise the baby together, without involving anyone else. But if we have to, we can always go the legal route for the baby's best interest."
He knew it was a low blow, but the couple needed you to stop fighting them. Your eyes snapped to his and you shook your head in protest.
"Okay then we're all the same page," Aizawa reassured you.
Mic cheered, "Now we can focus on the fun stuff."
"Hun," Eraserhead caught his attention. "There's still a few more important things to figure out. We don't want you going back to that doctor. They're incompetent. We scheduled you an appointment with another's clinic for next week. Okay?"
You couldn't find your voice after how easily he threatened to take your baby. So you just nodded. Half listening.
"Good. We also went ahead and programmed our numbers into your phone. We need to be able to check in with you."
"Okay, but I can't use my phone at one of my jobs."
"About that lil momma," Mic started. "You work a lot, which is totally bad ass, but we don't think you leave enough time to rest and take care of yourself."
You tried to protest but Aizawa cut you off, "You also shouldn't be working around so many animals. Even though we love animals, they can be unpredictable and one dog can trigger all the rest into a frenzy."
You were dumbfounded, "I've never heard of anything like that happening. One of my coworkers was pregnant last year, she worked until her maternity leave. Plus I need to be able to pay my bills. And don't offer to compensate me again."
"Why do you have to view it as compensation? We just want to take care of the mother of our child. Just think about it. Mic and I have to go take care of some business but we'll be back later this week."
---
Back at their home Hizashi was dramatically splayed on their bed.
"Babe why are you pouting?" Aizawa asked.
"Why can't we just bring her home already?"
Aizawa sympathized with his better half, but they needed to be methodical. He reminded Hizashi that they didn't need to cause her even more stress, especially so early into the pregnancy. If they played their cards right they would have their happy little family soon enough.
If they could ease you in to the relationship everything would be easier in the long run. They had been managing just fine until now, they could wait a few more months.
He joined Hizashi on the couch. Mic was comforting himself the way he usually did when he felt like this. He was scrolling through the countless photos they had collected since their chance encounter with you over a year ago.

OH MY GOSH YOU ARE SO GOOD AT WRITING! I NEED A PART 3 WITH KON AND JON PLEASE!!! 🥺🥺❤️ (Only if u wanna write it tho)
Lol. Sure, why not?
—*—*—*—*—*
“You know,” Tim drawled as he sipped his drink, smirking at his boyfriend across from him. “I think this is the best date you’ve taken me on so fa—“
At that, the door to the restaurant was kicked open. Instantly, Tim and Kon tensed and got ready to jump into action, only for them to both just gape at who, exactly, had just barged in. Said barger almost instantly zeroed in on them, marching over with hands on his hips.
“And how many dates has my traitorous brother taken you out on, Huh?” Jon asked petulantly. Kon didn’t know whether to cry, laugh, or run away while he had the chance.
“Uh,” Kon floundered, absolutely caught off guard. Not that that seemed to be a problem, because Jon just started up talking again, the whole restaurant looking at them;
“When were you gonna tell me that you’re GAY?!”
“Uh. Look, Jon, buddy,” Kon tried to save himself, but couldn’t quite come up with the words fast enough. Jon places a hand over his heart, looking for all the world as if he was truly heartbroken. Dramatic asshole.
“I thought we were FAMILY! How could you do this to me? The horror! The injustice of it all! My brother is GAY—“
“Jon, seriously, can we at least not do this in public?” Poor Kon was starting to look pale and twitchy, so Jon sped his act up.
“—and he doesn’t even tell his gay brother that he’s gay!” Everyone else in the restaurant, who had been filming this on their phones and nervously chattering about homophobia and if someone was gonna step in, suddenly went pin-drop silent.
“What.” Kon forgot about the beginnings of his terror, now completely dumbfounded. “Wait, you’re gay too?”
“Yeah! Which is why I’m angry!” Kon put his hands on his hips again. “Damian’s mom had to tell me that our dad is Bi, because I thought he was straight and was agonizing about how to come out to him! And she also told me the huge dramatic tale of an apparently ten-year-long love triangle between her, Damian’s dad, and our dad. It was nuts.”
Kon wrinkled his nose, Tim copying the expression. “Wait, our dads? Ewww.”
“Yeah, I know,” Jon nodded before continuing. “So I was mad at Dad, because he never told me he wasn’t straight! And I spent weeks agonizing over nothing because of it! And then Dad tells me that YOU’RE gay too?! The treachery! The mutiny! You copycat! You didn’t even have the DECENCY to tell your brother that you were GAY so that he didn’t have to worry about being the only non-straight in the family!”
“I didn’t know you were gay too! And I never even told Dad, how does he know?!”
“Apparently he knows everything!” Jon threw his hands up. “He’s the one who told me to crash your date today after the prank I pulled on him yesterday for not telling me he was bi!”
“HOW DID HE KNOW ABOUT OUR DATE?!”
“HOW DID YOU NOT NOTICE THAT I’M GAY?!” Jon yelled right back. “I TOLD YOU I HAD A CRUSH ON DAMIAN YEARS AGO!”
“I THOUGHT YOU MEANT AS A FRIEND?!”
“OH MY GOD MY BROTHER IS DUMB!” Jon turned his attention to Tim. “YOU’RE SMART! YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO RUB OFF ON HIM!”
Tim, who was half-sunk into his chair and only still watching this fiasco out of morbid fascination, just deadpanned at Jon and said; “There’s no cure for Stupid, your honor. He only has one braincell and it forgot how to multiply.”
“Hey!” Kon protested, slamming his hands on the table. “You’re my boyfriend! You’re supposed to be on my side!”
“I can’t help that I’m dating a punk himbo, Conner.”
“Graaaah!”
“And I’m dating Damian!”
Tim looked over, horrified. “I fully expected this, but also— is it voluntary? Do you need a way out?”
Jon rolled his eyes. “He’s sweet, shut up.”
“Oh my god he’s brainwashed you!” Tim was obviously just being dramatic (he loved his brother, regardless of how they didn’t often get along) so Jon ignored him and turned back to his own brother.
“Anyway, you must suck at this whole dating thing. I heard Tim say this was the best date you’ve taken him on and, full offense intended but,” he swept his arm around to indicate the restaurant. “This is a Wendy’s.”
“At least we’re not getting mugged this time though,” Kon said with a shrug.
“This is also only the third date in four years that he’s taken me on. I started all the others.”
“YOU’VE BEEN GAY FOR FOUR YEARS AND DIDN’T TELL ME?!”
—*—*—*—*—*
Later, Tim was at the Batcomputer and Marinette was handing him his first cup of coffee for the long night ahead. He looked down at his phone when it beeped, and let loose a tortured groan. Marinette just raised an eyebrow at her adopted son.
“Uh? Problems in paradise?” She asked when she saw that the sender was Kon’s contact in Tim’s phone. Tim groaned again.
“Not exactlyyyyy,” he hedged. “You told Jon that Clark is bi.”
Marinette blinked, having actually forgotten about that after Damian had showed her the video Jon had gotten of Clark. Then again, the video ended abruptly ... as if Jon had intentionally cut something out at the end.
“Jon was catastrophizing at the dinner table— oh yeah you weren’t there because you dragged Kon out for a date that night— anyway, he was having a crisis and I needed to get revenge on Clark for something. So yeah, I told him the whole story.”
“Well,” Tim growled. “Clark told Jon about Kon being gay. And somehow he knew exactly where and when we were having our date.”
Marinette caught on, unable to hide her large grin. “Oh nooooo,” she breathed. “What did he do?”
Tim grumbled and brought up the YouTube video of the whole interaction. Marinette damn near laughed herself into a coma over it, and it had already gotten over a million hits too.
“Oh my god,” Marinette had to catch her breath. “I didn’t realize Kon was just as much of a himbo as the other two of them! I thought he had to have more sense, I always thought that being a punk requires more than just the bare minimum level of intelligence.”
“Apparently not.”
“Wait,” Marinette seemed to realize something, putting her hand on her chin in sudden thought. “Wasn’t... didn’t Luthor make Kon the same year Jon was born? They’re technically the same age even though Kon is physically older, right?”
Tim’s jaw dropped. “Oh my god,” he breathed. “Luthor must have accidentally cloned Jon’s only braincell into Kon’s body,” he jokingly “realized”. “They are twin dumbasses!” He blinked, and held his phone up. “Oh shit, Jon covered Kon’s apartment completely in pride flags!”

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped into the next room I am I and you are you Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. ~ Henry Scott Hollard

______________
He hadn’t meant to say it, that much was clear. As much as she wanted to hate him for it, claim it was some sort of cruel manipulation; she knew he was just as distressed as she was. The ghost boy had covered his mouth, bright green eyes wide with panic as his misspoken words brought their battle to a screeching halt. Even the ghost the three hunters had been fighting stopped and stared before flying off. No one moved to stop them. Phantom looked at her fearfully, then over at her companion before vanishing without a trace.
It was a slip of the tongue, an accident, so why did the ghost boy calling her Mom make her blood run so cold?
“I’ve knew a kid who called the teacher Mom one time but I’ve never heard it from a ghost,” the Red Huntress said with a sarcastic chuckle. But her shoulders were tense and it was clear the situation made her uncomfortable too. “You okay, Mrs. Fenton?”
“My son isn’t dead,” Maddie said quietly. She would admit there were times where she’d look at Phantom and see Danny overlaid on top of him but those moments were becoming more and more rare. Maddie liked to think it’s because she could find more differences than similarities between the two but honestly, she couldn’t say who her son was anymore. She saw this damned ghost more than she saw the child living in her own house.
“I know, I’ve seen him around,” Huntress said with steady conviction. It made Maddie pause, as it always did, to wonder just how old Amity’s other human ghost hunter really was. Or how young rather. “It was a mistake, he’ll probably avoid you for a bit out of embarrassment but then things will go back to normal.”
“Yeah, a mistake,” Maddie muttered to herself, finally lowering the gun even though the fighting had ended several minutes ago. Why was this whole thing so unsettling to her? Phantom had said much worse things to her, called her a fake scientist and more obsessive than a ghost. He’d even called her a bad mother once when he’d been particularly riled up. She remembered how offended and angry his unnatural eyes had been as they’d glared accusingly into her.
“You know his parents are still alive,” Huntress said suddenly. “I found out by accident a little while ago.” She was still standing on her hoverboard about 3 feet off the ground, her gaze was trained away from Maddie. “They don’t know that he’s a ghost, that he’s Phantom,” the girl’s head was still turned away from Maddie but she had a feeling she was being watched none the less. “Maybe you remind him of his mother.”
Maddie felt liked she’d been slapped.
“And why does that matter to you?” she questioned defensively to cover how much the conversation was shaking her - they didn’t know how could they not know, how could they not miss - “I thought you hated him as much as we did.”
“I don’t like him,” the Huntress said vehemently. “He’s annoying and acts like he’s the only hunter in this town who can actually do the job. But I,” she paused, “I think I understand him, just a little bit. Enough that I’ve been combing through Amity’s missing children files in my spare time. Of course, it’s no good if no one reported him missing in the first place. Phantom doesn’t want me prying but it’s not right for a kid to die and no one to care.”
“He’s just a ghost,” Maddie said, her words weak even to her ears. Was that why Phantom was stuck here? Because he died forgotten and unmourned? The thought of one of her children, her babies, dying without her knowing... she was going to be sick.
“Yeah, he is,” Huntress nodded, “but he wasn’t always. And humans deserve to be remembered, even if they don’t want to be.” That said, the girl sped off into the setting sun, the varying shades of orange glinting off of her suit. Maddie stood in the middle of the street for a little while longer, gun pointed limply at the ground as her whole world spun.
She drove home slowly, taking the long way around to try and put her conflicting feelings into words before she talked to her husband. When she and Jack first began their research into ghosts, they told themselves that they had to divorce themselves from the people the ghosts had been before. If you focused on the lingering traces of humanity in every monster then they would never be put in their place. But she was human and she had kids around the ghost boy’s age, despite her attempts to stick to logic her heart ached with sympathy.
“And you call yourself a mother,” the Phantom in her memory spat at her, filled with hatred but underneath it all was grief. “Where are your kids now? All you care about is the dead but when are you going to care for the living?” Maddie tightened her grip on the steering wheel to keep her hands from shaking.
“Mads! You’re home!” Jack grinned enthusiastically as she quietly entered the house. “Jazzy has her nose in her books and you know Danny, in and up to his room without a word so I made us grilled cheese!” He held her a plate with a flourish, “they’re ghost shaped!” The world tilted itself a little more onto it’s proper axis, no matter how crazy things got, Jack would always be her true north.
“Gracias,” she said accepting the plate. “Can we talk, privately?” She gestured her head down to the basement. Conversations from the kitchen could easily be heard upstairs and she really didn’t want her children to overhear her asking if she was a bad mom. She didn’t want their confirmation that she was right.
Jack’s goofy grinned smoothed out into something softer and he put one hand gently on her back as they walked down to basement. He kicked her usual stool her way and they sat in silence while they ate their dinners, staring at the swirling vortex of the portal.
“You remember that time Phantom called me a neglectful mother?” Maddie asked quietly after a few minutes.
“Mads, you can’t let that sneaky spook get to you. Everyone knows you’re a great-”
“Jack,” she interrupted harsher than she needed to but she didn’t need comfort from a husband but the unbiased opinion of a fellow scientist. “He accidentally called me Mom while we were fighting today, I don’t - I don’t think he meant it, he looked more scared then I’ve ever seen him before he ran off. Huntress was there too, she said.” Maddie gripped her plate tightly in her hands. “She said that Phantom’s family is still alive, that they don’t know about him.”
“Not know? You mean about him being-”
“Apparently,” Maddie squeezed her eyes shut to fight off the unwanted sympathy she felt. “He’s always been the Ghost Boy, the Ghost Kid. I never - I never fully absorbed what that meant. He looks,” Maddie set the plate aside and dropped her head into her hands. “He’s about Danny’s age.”
“Maddie,” Jack said softly, setting aside his own plate and wheeling himself closer. “Whoever that boy was, he’s gone now and all that’s left is an echo, an obnoxious and powerful echo but he’s not... he’s not a child. Not anymore.”
“But he remembers,” Maddie gasped, angry she was letting herself get all worked up over a stupid ghost. “He called me Mom, Jack. Huntress, she said maybe I reminded him of her and,” her eyes filled with tears now. “He’s comparing me to someone who didn’t even notice that he’d died. What does that say about me? About my relationship with our children? I feel like all I do is argue with Jazz these days and god knows where Danny goes to half the time-”
“Maddie, don’t do that to yourself,” Jack said softly, tilting her face up towards him with a gloved hand. “Once you go down that rabbit hole, there’s no digging yourself out. I think it’s just part of being a parent, always worrying that you’re not doing things right. Sometimes,” Jack gaze dropped, troubled. “Sometimes I enter the room and Danny looks at me and freezes like he expects me to do something terrible... He’s just easily startled but it still hurts.”
“Phantom is an echo, not a child,” Maddie nodded quietly to herself, trying to fall back on her usual logic but it tasted wrong in her mouth. He was a ghost... but also a child. “I wonder what he was like when he was alive? His personality seems remarkably preserved, he must have been a vibrant young man.”
“Or his death was particularly traumatic,” Jack mumbled. “Painful deaths usually leave powerful ghosts. And most healthy teens don’t just drop dead for nothing.”  A chill fell over the lab.
“How could they not notice?” Maddie whispered with horror. “What sort of parent wouldn’t see that their child was dead, what? Now two years in?”
“Not everyone is as good a mom as you are, Mads,” Jack said, pulling her into his chest. “Neglectful parents are a dime a dozen sadly. He could’ve been a runaway too, ran off and died leaving his folks still holding out hope that he’d come home. Or maybe...” he frowned, “maybe he’s pretending he’s still alive.”
“No, he couldn’t keep the charade for this long,” Maddie gasped but the horrible idea had been planted none the less. Phantom always seemed in such a hurry, like he had somewhere else to be. Was another woman tapping her feet as she waited for her boy to return like Maddie often did, not knowing her child was long gone?
“He’s a wily one, incredibly solid for a spirit. Sometimes I look at him and swear I see his chest moving like he’s breathing. Dampen his glow, dye the hair, change his clothes, he could probably pass as human so long as you didn’t look too close.”
“Jack,” she pulled back and looked at her husband in a panic. “Jack, if he’s pretending to be human when he’s not fighting then there’s a good chance he goes to Casper.” Her and Jack’s eyes widened with realization at the same time.
Their children’s high school has had an unprecedented amount of ghost attacks since the portal opened. They could never figure out why the ghosts targeted that school and ignored the other elementary, middle or even the other public high, Wendy. “What are we going to do, should we pull out Danny and Jazz? Even just until we figure this out.”
“That might tip the ghost off,” Jack said evenly but his teeth were biting into his cheek with worry. “We don’t want to set him off, who knows what he’d do if his cover was blown.” He might look like a harmless teen but Maddie had seen first hand how devastating Phantom could be when threatened. “I think we should tell the kids.”
“What? Why? You know they’re supportive of him!” Well Jazz certainly was, differing opinion on Phantom seemed to be the cause of half their arguments. Danny, truthfully, she didn’t really know his opinions on the ghost boy. He always looked so uncomfortable talking about ghosts with them so they just didn’t.
“Supportive maybe but they’re smart and observant,” Jack countered. “They could be our eyes and ears inside the school. They know better than to provoke a dangerous ghost,” Jack let his eyes drift over to the portal. “Besides, if the worst comes to pass, I want them to be prepared.”
“I don’t like it but you’re probably right,” Maddie grumbled. “If it keeps them safe then I’d do just about anything.” Jack smiled and leaned forward to kiss her gently, his lips a perfect match for her own.
“And this is why you could never be a bad mother,” he said. “Come on, let’s talk to them before they go to sleep.”
“Or Danny sneaks out again,” Maddie said to herself as she followed her husband up the stairs and heard him call for a Fenton family meeting.
It went about as well as Maddie had expected. Jazz alternated between being angry and anxious, telling them emphatically that Phantom wasn’t hiding among them at school and wasn’t a bad ghost to begin with. Maddie didn’t know what had come over her but she hardly recognized this irrational and emotional young lady as her daughter. She hoped it was just Senior year stress and hormones and not some ghostly influenced. Danny, as usual, sat there like he was a piece of the furniture and didn’t say much at all.
“Danno,” Jack said gently as he interrupted Jazz’s rant to engage their youngest. “You would tell us if you noticed anything unusual with one of your classmates, right? You know we’re telling you kids this because we trust you, love you and want to keep you safe.”
“Have you considered that keeping guns around the house, threatening to hunt and torture ghosts doesn’t make me feel very safe?” Danny said quietly, looking down at the table. “So what if he sometimes goes to school, maybe he wants to have something normal in his life. All I know is that if I was Phantom, maybe I would want to hide too. So people like you didn’t find me.” For the second time that night, the words of a teenage boy stopped her cold.
“Danny, what do you-” Danny didn’t elaborate and instead pushed his chair back and headed towards the door.
“Young Man, where are you going? It’s almost curfew and we’re not done here,” Maddie scolded even though she knew that neither her or Jack were in the control of the situation. Danny opened the door and didn’t look back.
“I won’t be long, just a lap around the block. I just, I just need some air, okay?” The house became quiet, no one quite knowing what to say. Jazz excused herself a moment later and walked back up to her room. She slammed her door shut. The ticking of the clock was the only sound to be heard in the suddenly silent kitchen.
“Is that how he sees us?” Jack asked quietly, looking down at his large hands. “Danny used to think what we did was so cool, when did that change?” When did he change? was the silent, unasked question. Or maybe they'd all changed, grown apart so slowly that no one had really noticed. Maddie stood up abruptly and stalked towards the door, strapping an ectogun to her hip as she went.
“Mads, maybe you should give him-”
“You know as well as I do that this is the peak time for ghosts. Danny, he might not trust us but I won’t let a disagreement get him killed.” It was full dark outside and she was halfway down the block before she realized she didn’t know which direction Danny had gone in. The night air was chill for mid-April as it shook off the last dregs of winter. She was feeling cold in her protective hazmat; Danny had left in short sleeves. Maybe she should run back and get his jacket for when she found him.
“Nice night for a walk,” Maddie jumped at the voice to find Phantom lazily floating in the air above her. His posture was casual but his eyes were sharp, searching as he always was. Green eyes glanced at her gun before meeting her eyes. “Looking for someone? Perhaps chasing someone who doesn’t want to found?” No way was she going to let him know her son was out here, alone and vulnerable.
“You actually,” she lied. He raised a disbelieving eyebrow but didn’t call her out. How could he be so expressive and so hard to read all at once? Against her better judgement, she thought again about the ghost as a human. “You called me Mom earlier, I want to know why.”
“What, you’ve never called someone something dumb by mistake?” Phantom flinched, crossing his arms defensively. “It was an accident, I’m just as upset as you are, believe me. Now if you don’t mind, I was trying to have a nice flight to clear my mind. Good luck finding whoever you were really looking for.”
“My husband thinks you’re pretending to be alive, that you’re lying to the town, going to school.” She searched his face for some sign that she was wrong but his expression was still as stone. “You’re putting people in jeopardy, I thought you wanted to play the hero!”
“I’m not doing anything,” He growled, his eyes flashing ominously in the dark. “I’m just doing the best I can, okay? If I go to the Nasty Burger or sit in on English Poetry when there’s no ghosts to fight then who’s hurt? Only me for trying to hang onto something real, something normal!”
“But the ghosts-”
“News flash! The ghosts would be here with or without me because of your stupid portal! I can’t even legally drive and yet you blame me for everything.” He scoffed and looked away, “you really are just like my mother.”
“So I do remind you of her,” she stated. “Your mother.”
“That’s a great thing to say to some kid you shoot at regularly,” Phantom said, icily, his green gaze boring into her over his shoulder. “What do you want me to say? Yeah, you do. It’s not just your voice or your face but the way you look at me like I’m nothing but a disappointment. How you make me feel like I’m some damaged child you need to hammer into shape.”
“You can’t - I’m not disappointed,” she said before she could think otherwise because how else could she react to such a charged statement? What kind of abusive, miserable home had he come from? Her heart clenched again to be compared to this woman.
“Yeah, I can tell,” Phantom snapped at her sarcastically but, like the time when he’d called her a bad mother, underneath the anger was sadness. “None of this matters, we’re both going to keep doing our own thing without each other’s approval. We’re enemies so let’s just forget this all happened and go back to you shooting at me while I beg for you just stop and listen for one second-”
“Alright, I’m listening!” Maddie shouted back, frustrated and sympathetic against her better judgement. “What is it you want to tell me so bad?” Phantom froze, like he hadn’t expected her to just stop like that. His shoulders hunched and his eyes were wide and he looked so much like a lost teenager that it pulled painfully at her heart. God, why did this one ghost bring out so many contradictory feelings in her?
“I want,” he stopped, swallowed and floated to the ground so they were near eye level. Sometime in the last year, he’d gotten taller than her. She hadn’t realized ghosts could grow, could age. Phantom was always the exception to every rule they had. “I want the same thing you want. I don’t like seeing ghosts coming through and hurting people. Before I was Phantom, I was nobody, I couldn’t help anyone. I can now and keeping people safe, it gives me a purpose I didn’t even have when I was human. Ghosts might just be the untethered remnants of dead people but we still love and feel and value things, just differently than you do. I want to keep ghosts from attacking people but without damaging them, we’re not all evil just... trying to find our own way to the finish line. If you’d just, not attack on sight, I could show you.”
It was perhaps the most she’d heard Phantom say all at once. He was rubbing his gloved fingers anxiously against his thigh and there was a desperate bit of want in his tragically young face. He wanted her to believe him, like a child looking to their mother for approval. As more time stretched on without her speaking, his hopeful look fell into a kind of sad acceptance. He looked like Danny had at the kitchen table not 15 minutes before.
“Okay,” she said finally. “We can give it a try for a bit. It’s not a truce exactly but so long as you’re not causing harm, Jack and I won’t shoot at you.” It wasn’t much but the boy looked like he’d handed her the moon and then some. He floated up a little, his boots jittered with excitement. She gaped when he reached forward and grasped her hand only to shake it enthusiastically. His hand was chilled but solid in her own.
“Yeah, you got a deal! Don’t worry, Mo- Ma’am you won’t have to worry about me, I’ll be a good little ghost, scouts honor! not that I was, uh, ever in the scouts. If things go well, I’d be happy to tell you more about ghosts and the Zone. I’ll even give you a tour if you’d like.” His smile was infectious and she bit her lip to resist the natural urge to smile back.
Maybe Phantom was a ghost, a sad child who’d died far too young but he was also someone’s son. That woman, however, hadn’t been able to protect him, to support him. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to give the ghost boy a chance and maybe Maddie could fill in something his other mother couldn’t. Perhaps she could even learn how to give her own children what they needed too.
“We’ll see,” Maddie hummed. “Now, you were going to go flying and I need to find my son before he catches his death, that is, if he’ll even talk to me.”
“He will,” Phantom said softly. “My mom messed up, hurt me sometimes but I knew she loved me and I love her. I don’t know your son but I do know what it’s like to be a son and your mom is... whether you’re living, dead or in-between, she’s always your mom. Maybe he’s worried you won’t love him, the things he’s done or believes in.” He looked away and rubbed the back of his neck, “Of course, I don’t really know you and your family. Usually try and avoid you guys, being ghost hunters and all. Even your daughter is pretty scary.”
“That would be pretty weird, a ghost surrounded by hunters,” her lips twitched upwards despite herself as she imagined Phantom chatting with Jack and Jazz in the living room. The image wasn’t quite as strange as she’d initially thought. Who knows where this shaky truce would lead them? Phantom took that as his excuse to leave and flew off into the night. Maddie watched him go, she started up the block when she got a series of texts a few minutes later.
Danny: I’m home, sorry for running off like that Danny: I don’t like the way you talk about ghosts the way some people talk about race or gender. I want to make opinions based on facts and understanding, not half baked theories Danny: I’d be willing to talk more, if you’d stop being so stubbornly certain you’re right and just listened for a change Danny: I love you, Mom I don’t think I say that enough. Sometimes I feel scared to, like you won’t understand Danny: Jazz came down and Dad brought out the special fudge Danny: Come home, its cold out
Maddie brought her phone to her lips, looking up in the sky as if she might see Phantom still flying around. That boy still loved his mother, the mother who’d hurt him. She didn’t want to be like Phantom’s mom: distant, cruel, unwilling to listen. If she could hold out an olive branch for her enemy, then she certainly could for her son.
Mom: I love you too, baby, never doubt that. I think I'm ready to listen now. Mom: I’m on my way home, save some fudge for me.
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, Just around the corner. All is well.

My little brothers revenge, Part 2
Alex woke up Sunday morning and rubbed his eyes, trying to get the sleep out of his eyes and hearing the heavy snoring of his asshole big brother.
'Man, can't believe I conked out so bad!' He thought, now rubbing his arm across his chin and mouth to take care of any left over drool. 'I guess I must of been more tired then I thought..Ugh.. and Justin's been stinking up the room again in his sleep.'
Alex put his fingers to his nose, glaring over at his brother who was a well know toxic hazard in his sleep and as such normally got his own tent when the family went out camping.
Tossing his blanket back Alex froze as the smell not only got worse in the room, but it became clear WHAT the source of the stink was as he looked down and the shot swelled diaper around his waist.
'No way..no.freaking.way!' Alex thought as he blushed beet red.
he quickly glanced over at Justin who was thankfully still asleep and then slowly got up onto his hand sand knees and crawled backwards to get out of his bed, trying not to squish the mess around any worse and fighting back whimpers that might of woken Justin up.
There was NO way if Justin saw him in a shitty diaper that he'd ever let Alex live it down, and he could easily picture Justin 'accidentally' bringing it up around his friends or even at school.
getting his feet on the floor Alex found himself forced to do a cowboy walk of sorts from the bulk of his filled diaper and as quietly as he could he made his way to the door and out into the hall, praying to every deity he could think of that he was the first one awake since it was only 8:34 am and mom and dad liked to sleep in on Sundays.
Fate was not on his side however as he made his way towards the bathroom and saw that the door was closed. before he could even think of turning around and waddling back to his room the door opened and out stepped mom.
She appeared to of smelled Alex before spotting him from the way her nose wrinkled, then she looked eyes on him and her mouth twitched as if she was fighting the urge to smirk.
"Did somebody have a stinky accident?" She asked, sounding amused but coming over.
"I..I didn't mean to.." Alex whimpered and looked down, all sorts of shame flooding though his body and he was fighting back tears.
Instantly she went from amused to trying to comfort him, even if she winced as she knelt down in front of him and cupping his chin.
"Alex it's ok, accidents happen. this this goes to prove that you're not feeling so well. Maybe I'll let you stay home while I go and get you some more diapers later." She said in a soothing voice.
"I..Yeah Ok mommy." Alex said, feeling very much like a big baby as she then picked him up, hands under his armpits and carried him to the bathroom.
"I think maybe it's for the best you're gonna be in diapers all day today too. you wouldn't wanna have a poopie accident in your Captain America briefs right?" She asked.
This was NOT helping Alex feel better but he just nodded his head, kicking his legs a little.
"Uh..Uh..Mommy? I-I can clean myself up." he said as she carried him into the bathroom and stood him in the tub.
"I'm sure you could, but it'll go faster with my help and I don't think you want Justin seeing you like this." She said with a warm smile.
"I-I guess you got a point." Alex whimpered.
Oh yeah, he was gonna get revenge on his brother and prove who was the big baby in the house alright. right after his mom changed his dirty diaper.
'God, what have I done to piss you off so much?' he silently asked as his mom started to open his diaper.
One humiliating clean up and shower later and Alex was in a clean diaper and downstairs at the kitchen table, having some toast and tea. Normally Sunday's were a sausage and bacon filled feast if you waited long enough for Mom to get up but she had been wary about putting too much into Alex's system and asked him to go simple. Alex wasn't happy about it, but since Mom had put the plastic bag with his stinky diaper in the trunk of the car and promised to get rid of it away from the house he decided to humor her.
He was in just one of his Spider-man diapers and a loose Iron man t-shirt and kicking his legs softly at the table when Justin came down stair's with a grossed out look on his face, spotting Alex before he saw mom.
"Geez Alexandra, did you crap yourself or something? Our room friggen reeks!" He complained and then fully walked into the Kitchen and saw their mother standing there, NOT looking happy.
"Excuse me, but I thought your father and I talked about you calling Alex that name." She said in a less then amused tone.
"Er..well..See, Alex likes the nick name! Yeahhh, He said it just didn't feel right if I wasn't teasing him." Justin lied, Looking to Alex for back up.
"Alex is that true?" Mom asked.
"Yeah, Not at all. I've told him to quit it." Alex said smirking big time.
"i see. Justin, How would you like it if I called Justine or Jessica all day?" Mom asked, smirking now.
"..I wouldn't like it very much." Justin muttered and looked down at the floor now.
"Mmmhmm..So keep that in mind next time you get the urge to brat..I can always go and get you a adorable pretty princess lunch box and put Justine on the front of it and make you take it to school. Your father isn't the only one who can get creative with punishments."
Threat made Anne turned back to the kitchen counter and started on making Justin some breakfast.
"Y-You wouldn't!" Justin whined.
"Wanna try me? I'm already going to the store in a bit for more diapers for Alex." She said and smirked. "As is, I think you can have a nice toast and tea breakfast like your little brother. He's not feeling so good so you'll be watching him today."
"Ahhh moooom, I was gonna go hang out with Grizz and Rayne today!" Justin whined."I'm Sure Alex is a big enough boy he can look after himself! Or Dad can watch him!"
"Your father is going and helping Mr.Nilson build his deck today, But if you stay here I'll lift the TV ban so you two can play video games. Co-op only, I don't wanna come back to you both all mad at each other like what happens every single time you play a versus game."
Her point made the brothers both sulked as neither really wanted to be stuck with the others company.
Justin huffed his way though breakfast. between having to have buttered toast and tea instead of a meat explosion and being stuck with Alex all day he knew this was gonna suck all the balls, at least till he recalled his evil plan from last night and brightened up.
'Wait, no mom..no dad..and just me and the pamper butt. Oh yes yes yes yes yes! this is gonna work out great!' Justin thought and got a big silly grin on his face.
"Well, Somebody's cheered up after his tea." Mom teased.
"Oh yeah, I just had to wake up some more you know? I think I can have LOTS of fun with Alex today mom, so don't worry if you wanna take a bit." Justin said then added. "I know you like to drive around and it'll be nice for you not to have dad bugging you to hurry up or listening to me and Alex fighting."
"Well that's nice of you, though Alex is on his last two clean diapers so I really should hurry back." Mom said, giving Justin a half hug.
"oh nonsense! Alex is just gonna wear the diapers, It's not like he needs them mom, Right little bro?" Justin asked and smirked.
With Justin was being happy and helpful alarm bells were going off in Alex's head but there was nothing he could really say in argument of mom coming back sooner without tipping off he'd pooped himself earlier or making it sound like he needed his day time huggies. It was a catch 22 and Justin's look told Alex he knew it.
"yeah mom, I'll be ok..I'm sure me and Justin will have lots of fun." Alex said, trying to sound cheery.
Aside from not wanting to sound like he needed his diapers, he knew if he tried to whine to go with her or have her come back fast he'd also sound like a whinny little mama's boy.
"Well ok, If you boys are sure. I'll be heading out in a bit then, why don't you two leave the dishes for me and go and play some video games. And since you're both being good little guys for mommy." Anne smirked as both boys made a face at that. "You can both have 3 cans of soda each. Just try and spread them out."
the ugh faces turned into surprised smiles as mom was usually a stickler on the boys sticking to juice or water and she was always careful to keep a count on the can's of pop in the fridge.
Finishing up their light breakfast, the boys put their dishes in the sink and washed up a little then each one grabbed a can of cola out of the fridge and got a Blanket set out over the floor, well Alex got the blanket over the floor while Justin made sure the curtains were drawn shut.
Naturally normally Justin would of loved to of had the curtains wide open to show off his BABY brother but with mom still home he had to play nice.
Sides he wanted to try and draw Alex into a sense of relaxation before springing his super genius evil plan on him.
Alex wasn't falling for it for a second but went and fired up one of their rare co-op two player games (Since Justin wasn't a fan of retro games) and the boy's started to play, pausing only to wave bye to mom as she headed out, telling them that she'd be back in a hour or so, and to make sure dad woke up soon as he'd promised to be over helping with the deck bright and early.
They played in peace for about half a hour, with only cries of booya, eat it and the like coming out of their mouths and Justin giving Alex tips and for the most part they actually got along for a change.
That being said, all good things have to end and Justin never put his plan out of his mind, so when it was time to go and wake they're dad up he volunteered to do it while Alex took a much needed potty break.
Stopping by their room to grab Alex's phone Justin made a quick little call.
"Ngggh.. Yello?" came the groggy voice of Max.
"Heyyy max. how's it going?" Justin asked, keeping his voice down.
"Ngggh..Justin? what are you doing calling me?" the sleepy boy asked.
"Well Alex is kinda been missing you, and I was trying to set up a little surprise for him but getting you to come over and hang out with him." Justin said, grinning ear to ear.
"...OK who are you and what have you done with Justin?" Max asked, sounding suspicious.
"Hey, I can be a nice guy every now and then. but if you don't wanna come over finnnne." Justin huffed, mentally cursing just how well Max knew him.
"...Give me like 20 minutes or so to wake up and get some food in me." Max sighed on his end of the line.
"Ok the front door will be unlocked so just come in." Justin said and hung up.
with operation:show my brother baby butt off underway, Justin went off to go and wake up dad.
With dad being his normal cheery morning self (read: grumpy as fuck) Alex did his best to stay out of his way while he made himself a bacon and egg sandwich then grabbed his tool box and was out the door.
"I wonder he even offered to help if he was just gonna be this grumpy?" Alex asked Justin.
"Because there's free beer involved after the deck is built and you know mom won't let him bring any booze into the house." Justin said, oddly keeping a eye on the time.
"heh, you missing mom already or something?" Alex teased.
"Oh no, Just arranged a little surprise for you." Justin said and smirked.
As he smirked Alex felt a pang of fear go though him, the old Justin was back and he went to scramble up to his feet to get get away.
"ah ah ah, come here huggie butt." Justin taunted and grabbed onto Alex, tugging him down and into Justin's lap, pressing on his tummy.
Which had the effect of making Alex let out a massive fart.
"Dude! really? what are you, part skunk?" Justin asked, shoving Alex back out of his lap.
"M-Maybe!" Alex said, his tummy gurgling now and as he went to get up he ended up hunching over, anther fart coming out of him.
"Heh, Uh-oh, is widdle Alex gonna go poopie in his diapies?" Justin asked, smirking and getting up to block the path to the bathroom.
"J-Justin Nooo! I don't wanna poop my diapers again!" Alex whimper, hunched over and making his way over, yet anther fart coming out and that one was totally a wet one.
"Wait..ANTHER poopie diaper?" Justin asked, then it clicked. "Oh my god, you shit yourself in your sleep! Ahahaha! You really ARE a baby!"
"J-Justin Please! I'm begging you! Let me use the pot-" Alex started but then there was the sound of the front door opening and Alex was cut off by Max's voice.
"Allo allo! whats going..uh..on.." Max said, walking into view and looking at Alex in shock. "Uhhh.."
"M-Max!?! what are you doing here?!? I Uh..Oh god, Max don't loook!" Alex wailed.
Max was too shocked to look away though as Alex lost the battle with his bowels and the back of his diaper ballooned out as wave as wave of mush filled it, making the spider-man designs fade away and the formally white parts of the diaper go a ugly shade of brown.
With the back of the diaper being destroyed the front didn't get off easy either as Alex's bladder apparently didn't wanna be left out and he soaked the diaper even as he sank to his knees.
Balls up fists coming to his eyes and rubbing them as he started to bawl, Alex almost but not quite drowned out Max's million dollar question.
"Uhhh..what's going on here?"
The living room was filled with Alex's stink, but it was the smell of victory to Justin as he took in the scene with a sick joy. Alex was too busy bawling like the big baby he was to try and defend himself so Justin spoke up.
"Sorry about this Max, I tried to get baby Alex to cover up his diapers but he said he wanted you to see what a big baby he is an-" Justin started, but was cut off.
"Yeah, Bullshit. What's really going on here, Alex, did Justin make you wear a diaper?" Max asked, wincing as he moved over to comfort his friend.
'damn it! was hoping he'd fall for that. ah well, can't win'em all.' Justin thought.
Alex was still full on bawling though, and was just finishing up his dump and the diaper had amazingly held up.
"Alex..Alex buddy it's ok.. everyone has accidents." Max was saying and Justin rolled his eyes at that.
'just my luck, most boys his age would of started tormenting the fuck out of a pamper packer and I get the kind and understanding one.' Justin fumed.
"He's in all day diapers today because he went to sleep without putting one of his bed wetter pants on yesterday and wet the bed." Justin sighed. "And apparently if he's to believed he woke up stinky too."
"...Alex is this true?" Max asked.
Alex hiccuped and sniffled, calming down slightly now but he nodded.
"So..you knew his diapers were gonna be on display and invited me over..dude, your a asshole." Max said and glared at Justin.
"eh, Guilty as charged. but if you care soooo much about widdle Alex then you can get him cleaned up. Otherwise I'm gonna leave him to sit and stink." Justin said and shrugged, turning to leave.
"Sheesh.. brother of the year aren't you.. Where's his diapers?" Max asked helping Alex stand up and rubbing the poor guys back.
"In our room, I'll toss out what's left of them." Justin said then walked off leaving the stinky diaper boy and his little buddy to clean up.
For the second time this morning, Alex found himself doing a dirty diaper cowboy walk and heading for the bathroom, whimpering and saying sorry to Max over and over again.
"Hey, it's OK dude.. I should of known your brother was planning something when he invited me over. But Uh, I've known about your bed wetting for awhile." Max said, giving a sheepish grin.
"N-No you didn't, I'm super careful!" Alex whimpered.
they made it to the bathroom and Max had Alex stand with his legs spread and the trash bin in the bathroom under him as he undid the tapes and let the diaper plop down into the trashcan.
"yeahhh well about that.. you remember three weeks ago when we were playing Avengers in your room? you pack of Iron man diapers was sticking out from under your bed. When you weren't looking i pushed them back under with my foot." Max admitted, even as his face wrinkled in disgust.
"I..but..Noooo!" Alex whined babyishly.
Somehow this didn't change facts though.
"Look, we'll talk about it in a bit, you go and get in the shower, I'll go and get rid of the 'treasure'" Max said.
With no real choice in the matter, Alex nodded and made his way into the shower to go and get cleaned up.
'Pretty sad my best friend is more mature about this then my own brother..and Justin..your gonna pay!' Alex swore as he started the water.
After taking the plastic bag and putting it in the trash can outside, Max came back in and after opening some windows to air out the living room he made his way upstairs.Hearing the shower still running and found a pack of diaper with only two in it out front of the bathroom door.
the door to Justin and Alex's room was closed but since it didn't have a lock Max barged in anyways, finding Justin laying on his bed and reading a comic book.
"Can i help you?" Justin asked, a smirk on his face.
"That was a really shitty thing you just did to Alex, you know that right?" Max asked, hands on his hips.
"Cute choice of words there, and yeah, I'm a asshole and proud of it." Justin said.
"Yeah, well I'm gonna tell your parents what you did when they get back." Max shot back.
"Oh, cute idea. Let's tell them how Alex went and crapped his diapers when he has potty privileges and make it so he has to wear to school tomorrow. Of course I'll get grounded for inviting you over and showing off his diapers but who's really gonna come out on the short end of the deal here?" Justin asked.
Max blinked and tried to come up for a counter to that but just huffed and pouted.
"That's what I thought. If Mom asks when she gets back, Alex invited you over. I'll keep hush about the poopie diaper if you two little dweebs keep me out of trouble, deal?" Justin asked, going back to his comic book, clearly knowing he had the upper hand.
"..God your SUCH a asshole!" Max huffed and then stormed out.
Alex got out of the shower on his own and got himself diapered, then went and got a t-shirt (Hulk this time for the little avengers obsessed nerd) and a pair of black short's on over it before retreating down to the living room with Max, whining as Max told him about the deal Justin had offered.
"I don't know..he was suppose to shut up about the wet bed yesterday too and went back on it..and uh.. where did you put the..you know.." Alex asked huffing and squirming.
"Uh, out in the trash can on the side of the house. why?" Max asked.
"Because it's gonna be stinking up the block in no time and I'll get busted again for sure!" Alex whined.
"Well uh.. It's not like we can just go and ditch it in someone else's trash can you know." Max pointed out, rubbing the back of his head.
"Hmmm.." Alex said, rubbing his chin thoughtfully then snapped his fingers. "Hey! you know that old nature trail by here? the one that's hardly used anymore?"
"..Yesssss though I don't think I like where this is going." Max said.
"We'll take the stinky diaper and shovel out there, and bury it! by the time the trails popular again in the summer, no one will be able to smell it!" Alex said, beaming at his brilliant idea.
So excited with his 'brilliant plan' was he, that Alex actually started out of the room to head for the back yard to go and get the shovel.
"Alex, one second. You mighttttt wanna change into something baggier and with longer legs on it, those short's aren't really hiding your diaper butt." Max said with a small smirk.
Looking down and then looking at himself in a mirror Alex could see Max was right and gave a sheepish smile.
"Oh..yeah.. good call!" He said and then went to his dresser to find something a little more concealing.
Justin had of course by this time headed down stairs, not wanting to deal with Alex's 'toddler whining' ad he put it, and was playing a video game and drinking one of Alex's can's of soda since he had gone though his three.
Looking over as the pair went to go and get their shoes on he raised a eyebrow.
"And where are you two dweebs heading off too?" He asked then chuckled. "Awww, Is Max taking widdle Alex to da park ta pway?"
Alex growled but before he could speak up Max cut him off.
"Actually we're just gonna go and play on the old trail, go and dig some holes and the like. I figured that way if Alex has anther accident you won't have to smell it right away."
"Pffftt good thinking! did you pack a diaper bag for him then, hence the book bag?" Justin chuckled.
of course he couldn't of known that the pack pack was for holding the stinky diaper once they got it out of the trash, though he really didn't care anyways.
Alex meanwhile was blushing big time and huffing like a pouty toddler.
"Ayup, though hopefully it'll just be a wet diaper." Max said.
"pffft, ok. just be back soonish, Mom will wanna know where you are." Justin said and went back to his game.
Once they were outside Alex gave max a semi hard punch to the arm.
"what the heck was that all about! you sounded like you were on his side!" Alex huffed and glared.
"Uh, OW! and we didn't want him to know what we're really doing did we?" Max asked and then swatted Alex's padded backside, making a whumping sound.
"...You didn't have to be so believable." Alex huffed.
"oh I'm sorry, did you want him following us? knowing him he'd of tugged your pants off once you were on the trail and tossed them in a tree!" Max shot back.
the thought of being trapped in public with his diaper exposed made Alex blush and squirm, and let out a muffled fart of fear.
"Ah.. do you need, to go back inside and sit on the potty?" Max asked.
"NO!" Alex growled, then paused, and looked thoughtful and wiggled his butt a little, making Max have to bite his lip to keep from laughing.
"Yeah no, I'm good." Alex confirmed a few seconds later.
The adventure out to bury the treasure so to speak was uneventful, much as Alex had predicted the trail was dead this time of the year and the only hard part was digging into the semi solid earth, the shovel being almost too big for the either shorty to really use it so they had to take turns.
Coming back they were greeted in the driveway by Anne who was less then pleased to see Alex not only outside when she was still concerned he was sick, but that he was all dirty from playing in the dirt.
At least it worked out that she'd been home for about five minutes by that time so she'd already taken his new pack of diapers (Avengers print this time) to his room but still she gave Alex a mild scolding and sent Max home.
After that it was a day of just lazing around the house but Anne had also insisted on keeping a close eye on Alex so he hadn't been able to get enough alone time to e-mail Ben.

Tumblr media
You tossed and turned throughout the whole night, not being able to focus on sleep. The man next to you was desperately holding onto your body, making it hard for you to change the position you were in.
You were waiting for your mom to text you, saying that she and dad landed safely in Rome. They’d never been in Italy before. Harry was here touring with Fine Line. He’d never met your parents.
You put two and two together and thought that this was an amazing opportunity for you to finally introduce your boyfriend to your parents.
He, obviously, knew nothing about it. You knew that if you told him, he would freak out, and you wanted him to keep it together for the show and didn’t want him to get anxious for nothing. They already loved him from hearing stories you’ve told them about him.
Taking a glance at the screen of your phone, you saw bright numbers on it. 4:35 A.M.
They were supposed to land soon, so your tried your best to keep your eyes open.
“A glass of water would be great right now.” You thought to yourself, looking over to your side. Harry’s cheek was smushed into your side, and he kept subconsciously tightening his hold around you.
You carefully pulled your arm, which was squeezed between your warm bodies, and placed in on his back. Bringing your hand to his head, you started slowly playing with his curls, making sure not to accidentally wake him up.
“He seems fast asleep. If I get out slowly, he wouldn’t notice, right?” Debating, whether you should risk waking him up or just wait until he wakes up to get water, your dry mouth decides for you.
After grabbing a pillow that was laying next to your boyfriend, you started sliding out of his tight hold, gradually replacing your body with the pillow.
The bed creaked after losing contact with your body. Your eyes moved back to the bed, checking if your boyfriend noticed you missing.
As a little frown found its way on Harry’s face, wrinkles grazed the spot right between his eyebrows. You noticed his cheek being squished deeper into the pillow, and his hold around it tighten once again.
Standing by your bed in silence, you made sure to wait for a couple of minutes, to be certain that he was not woken up by you.
Turning around, taking a last glance at him peacefully cuddled in the pillows and blankets on the bed, you made your way out of your bedroom, down the stairs and into the kitchen to get yourself that long hoped-for glass of water.
Your tranquil walk back to the bedroom, now with a glass of water in your hand, was hindered by your phone ringing, echoing though the hall.
“Shit.” You muttered to yourself.
Running into the room, you hoped to be right on time to pick up the call before it wakes your previously peacefully sleeping boyfriend.
Unfortunately, you weren’t that lucky.
As you walked into your now-sunlit bedroom, the sight of your grumpy shirtless boyfriend caught your eye. He was holding your phone in one hand as it rang and rubbed the sleep out of his eye with the other.
“Mom’s callin’.” He managed to utter with a rasp in his voice.
Harry held out your phone to you, as his eyes grew heavy.
Taking your phone out of his hold, you picked up the call and heard your mom on the other side of the line.
“We landed, Y/N. Taking a taxi to your hotel in 10 minutes. People here are so nice.” She giggled in the end.
You would’ve too if you weren’t so exhausted from staying up all night to get a text from her. You started walking out of the room, to make sure Harry doesn’t hear her as well. Through your peripheral vision you could see the sleepy man fall back onto the pile of pillows.
“My poor baby.” You thought, as your mom went on about the flight and how excited she was to finally meet Harry.
“If he only knew.”
After your parents got on their taxi, they ended the call, telling you to get back in bed. To you it meant that you can finally cuddle your grumpy boyfriend.
Walking into your bedroom, you expected Harry to be sleeping. What surprised you was not only the fact that he was wide awake, but also the fact that he was standing by the window, looking outside.
“Baby, I’m so sorry for waking you up. Why don’t you go back to sleep?” Making your way to him, you watched as he slowly turned to face you. You walked right up to him and circled your arms around his waist. Positioning your chin on his chest, you looked up into his eyes. He lazily smiled down at you.
“Is mom okay? It’s quite early for her t’call, innit?”
He looked genuinely concerned, and suddenly you felt so guilty for keeping the truth away from him. It just seemed like the right thing to do in the moment.
“She’s okay, precious. Probably got confused in the time zones. We’re in a new place every week, after all.” You tried your best to brush it off. He seemed convinced.
“Oh, okay, lovey. ‘M glad she’s alright.”
You stood by the window for some time holding each other. Moments like these were the ones you longed for when he left touring with his debut album. They were the reason you were ready to study online, just to be by his side.
“He deserves to know.” You thought. He was going to meet them today anyways. “He won’t have time to get too nervous, right?” You kept debating on whether or not you should tell him the truth.
Your brows furrowed and your lips were pressed tight together. Harry took a look down at you, and his brows creased as well.
“What’s the matter with m’angel?” He gently cooed and moved closer to your face.
You were taken aback from your mental debates and smiled up at him.
“Nothing, nothing, baby. Everything’s okay.” You tried to quickly explain yourself. He didn’t seem convinced this time.
“Oh, come on. I know y’better than I know m’self. You’re in deep though, sweetie. Something’s botherin’ you. What is it?” He pushed your head into his chest and stroked your hair.
After being together for almost a year, Harry knew that you needed to be close to him to be able to speak your heart without feeling judged. So that’s exactly what he gave you.
“I won’t judge you. I promise, my love. Tell me what’s botherin’ you. Maybe I could help in some way?”
“God, I feel like a piece of shit. Why did I lie to him in the first place? He’s gonna be so mad.” Your mind swirled full of all the awful things that could happen after you told him you’ve been lying to him for two weeks. However, before your brain could stop you, your body made a sound.
“Parents.” You carefully start.
Harry focuses his eyes on you, to hear your soft voice.
“They’re here.”
Harry’s facial expression turns to a confused one. “Why are they here?” He thought.
“I wanted them to meet you.” You explain, as if reading his mind.
“What?” Harry is full-on shocked now, wondering why on Earth you hadn’t told him before.
You were afraid to let your eyes see him full of anger, so you pressed your face deeper into his naked chest.
“Why didn’t you tell me? Why am I finding out just now?” Harry wasn’t angry at you. He was just shocked and confused, but in your head you thought he was in a rage with you.
“I-I didn’t want you to worry for nothing. I knew yo-you’d get anxious about meeting them for no reason.”
“What do you mean ‘for no reason’? They’re your parents. What if they don’t like me? Then you’ll leave. I can’t fucking be without you, Y/N. How do you expect me to be calm about meeting your parents?” He was now getting frustrated at you for thinking that lying to him was an answer. He was frustrated, but even now he wouldn’t raise his voice at you. You made an agreement after your first fight to figure out your disagreements in a civil way. No yelling. No throwing shit. You weren’t kids having fits. You were two mature people figuring out their shit without getting aggressive about it. That’s what made you respect Harry so much. No matter how mad he was, he always kept himself together.
“That’s exactly why I didn’t tell you. You’d get anxious, when, in reality, they already love you. You’d get nervous for nothing. I wanted you to enjoy the tour without constantly worrying about meeting them.” You tried your best to get your point across, while still being pressed against his chest.
Harry didn’t say anything for a while, probably thinking it through. His hands found its way back into your hair and started playing with it.
“What if they won’t like me when they get to know me better?” You could feel the notes of insecurity and genuine fear in his voice. You finally ripped yourself from his body and took his face in your hands, making him look at you.
“They will only love you more, Harry. You’re the kindest, sweetest, the most loving and caring person I’ve ever met. You love me so dearly, and you always put me first. What else could they ask for in their daughter’s boyfriend?”
“Could you also add the fact that I fuck you well to the list?” Harry slowly spoke up, as his lips found their way to your neck. You were relieved to hear him joking. You laughed through a moan and pressed his head deeper into your neck.
“Do you? Sorry, I think you’ll have to freshen the memories for me to add it to the list.” You tease him, knowing exactly what follows.
Harry lets out a growl and picks you up immediately, swapping your places and pressing you against the wall.
“Let’s freshen the memories then.”
Throughout the whole day, while Harry was fidgeting around, getting ready for the concert, you were texting your mom, telling her exactly how and when to get into the concert hall.
Harry was now in his make-up chair getting his hair styled one last time. He looked at one particular spot through the mirror, while you stood next to him.
“Baby.” You mentally scolded yourself for telling him anything about parents coming to the show.
Harry kept staring at the spot, until you called out for him two more times, coming closer to his face with each time.
“Yes, love?” He asked in such a way, that made you look psychotic.
“Harry, you’re stressing out again, I’m not blind, okay?” You fold your arms and sit across his lap after the hair stylist leaves you two in the room alone.
His arms automatically find their way around your waist, just as your head does in the crook of his neck.
“You’re right. ‘M stressin’ out. Can’t help it. Want everything t’go well. It’s very important t’me. It’s our future, princess.” He spoke with such adoration that it made your heart flutter.
“They will love you. Wanna know why?” You asked.
“Why, angel?” He pressed a kiss on the crown of your head and breathed in the smell of your shampoo, closing his eyes in pleasure.
“Because I’ve never been happier.”
After sending Harry to the stage, you joined your parents in the balcony. Before doing so, you made sure to give him a good luck kiss and tell him that he shouldn’t feel like he has to act differently on stage. You gave him the old just-be-yourself speech and watched him walk onto the stage.
“Y/N, you’re finally here, we’ve missed you so much, love.”
Your mom hugged you, before letting your dad to do the same.
“Yes, dear. We took it for granted when you were back home. It’s so empty without you.” Dad kissed the top of your head and smiled at you.
“The music is so nice. Makes me want to dance.”
Your heart was full of pride in your boyfriend, who was now jamming to Golden on the stage.
Throughout the whole concert, your parents only shared a couple of words, fully mesmerized by the music playing and the young man dancing and jumping around the stage.
“What a wonderful young man that is.” Your mom said.
Your mind couldn’t find any other reason to why your mother referred to Harry as “a wonderful young man” other than the factthat she had no idea who on Earth was prancing around in front of them.
“With a great sense of humor, I must add.” Your dad mentioned.
You were so close to laughing out loud at their nescience.
When the concert was over, you made sure to text Harry straight away.
You: They love you.
Harry: It’s probably just because they know we’re already dating. They just don’t want to hurt your feelings.
You: Oh, trust me. They love you.
“Dear, the concert is over and Harry still hasn’t shown up. I know he’s a sweet boy, but it’s not polite to be so late to a meeting with your girlfriend’s parents.” Your father nagged, folding his arms.
“I have to agree with your dad.” Your mother seemed just as disappointed in your boyfriend.
“I’m sure he was busy.” You didn’t want to explain further, trying your best to keep a straight face on. It was extremely hard, especially when you were passing a huge sign with ‘HARRY STYLES: LOVE ON TOUR’ written across it.
Let’s just say, your parents’ faces were priceless when they saw you go up to the ‘wonderful young man’ they were gushing about and gave him a peck on the lips.

Quarantine Moments (14)
Soooooo this started as me vibing to a Halsey song and then it turned into angst. Oops. Sorry.
Also, in case you missed the announcement earlier this week, this is the last QM. I’ve had so much fun writing these, but it’s time to move on to new things. :)
*****
It’s a quiet night in the MacGyver household.
Mac lays on the couch, practicing the ukulele. Bozer and Riley are in their respective rooms, doing their own thing. As much as he loves them, Mac has to admit it’s nice having some alone time.
His fingers land on the wrong strings, and the resulting chord grates on his ears.
Progress is coming slowly, to say the least.
Riley shuffles into the kitchen and fills a glass of water for herself. Using her presence as an excuse to pause his increasingly frustrating playing, Mac studies Riley’s posture. Her shoulders cave inward, and she shifts her weight back and forth, from one leg to the other. When Riley turns around, Mac notices the heavy expression in her eyes.
Something is wrong.
They hold eye contact for a few seconds, saying nothing. It’s almost as if Riley is trying to convey her thoughts without actually speaking.
Mac wishes he could understand her. Usually he can. But this look...he can’t pinpoint what it means.
“C’mon,” Riley beckons. “Let’s go for a drive.”
Mac frowns, checking the time. “Now? It’s almost ten.”
“Let’s go,” she repeats. Crossing the distance to the couch, Riley lowers her voice. “Bozer needs some space. I accidentally walked in on him while he was on the phone.” The heavy look in her eyes suddenly makes sense.
“His mom?”
“Mac—” Riley lowers her gaze. “She’s...she’s not doing well.”
“Fuck,” he curses under his breath, sitting up. Bozer’s mom is the closest thing Mac has to a mother. She certainly raised him like he was her own.
Riley squeezes his shoulder reassuringly. “I’ll drive. Does your truck have gas? Mine’s almost out.”
Still thinking about Bozer’s mom, Mac almost doesn’t hear her. “Yeah,” he belatedly stutters. Closing his eyes and taking a few deep, steadying breaths, Mac pulls on a pair of sneakers and follows Riley out the door.
It feels good to leave the house.
Riley winds her way through the city streets, turning periodically but generally heading west. Mac’s beach playlist plays softly through the speakers. The roads are empty, which still shocks Mac even after two months of lockdown. Even late at night, there’s usually people on the road. The eerie stillness of his city is unnerving. It’s usually pulsing with life, not...whatever this is.
A ghost-town, perhaps. Haunted by the memory of the diverse, vibrant beings that once inhabited it.
“Did you hear anything else?” he asks, referring to Bozer’s phone call.
Regret flashes in Riley’s eyes. “No. I left as soon as I realized who he was talking to.”
After a few more turns, they’re in a part of town Mac isn’t familiar with, and he can’t stop himself from asking, “Where are you taking me?” He knows the difference between Riley aimlessly driving and when she has a destination in mind, and this is definitely the latter.
“My spot.”
.
They end up at the beach.
Riley rolls down her window partway, and the smell of saltwater and seaweed wafts in on the gentle breeze. The lights of a ship glimmer in the distance; it’s big, maybe a cargo ship or an aircraft carrier.
There’s something soothing about being near the ocean, Mac thinks, like all his troubles will be washed out to sea with the receding tide.
There’s a lot he’d like to wash away.
Mac exhales with each wave's retreat, letting his thoughts and emotions go with it, one by one. After a few minutes, Mac feels lighter than he has in days. "Thanks for getting me out of the house," he says. "I know it wasn't your intention, but I needed this."
"You're welcome." Riley glances at him and looks away, biting her lip. Something flickers in her eyes, just for a second, but it’s gone before Mac can figure out what it is.
“So, I heard a good joke today,” Mac says.
“Oh really? Where’d you hear it?”
“On my run. The teenage boys on the corner were practicing their stand-up comedy routine in the front yard again.”
Riley smiles. “Let’s hear it.”
Mac takes a deep breath, mentally preparing himself so he doesn’t start laughing before he lands the punchline. “What did the fish say when it hit the wall?”
Riley makes a show of thinking for a second. “I don’t know. What?”
“Dam.”
Riley tips her head back and laughs, the sound loud and full of life. Tendrils of warmth curl in Mac’s insides, taking up residence in the shadowed corners of his soul. He’s been thinking about that joke all day, waiting for the right moment to tell her.
Because Riley is the first person he wanted to tell, not Bozer or Desi or anyone else.
Just Riley.
She’s still laughing as her gaze catches his, and her raw, unguarded expression sends a chill down Mac’s spine.
Sometimes Mac lets himself think about what it could be like if that wall between them wasn’t there.
She’d consume him, in every way possible. And he’d gladly let her.
But that wall is there. It’s been there since the day they met, and Mac respects her too much to poke holes in it. Maybe it’s a good thing. With the wall there to block sparks and fireworks, they developed a quiet rhythm of love and care, and Mac wouldn’t trade that for the world.
If he let himself love her, really love her, there would be no going back from that, no returning to the way things are now. Either they’d be it for each other—be the one—or they’d wreck each other too thoroughly to ever be just friends again. So even if the wall came down, in a future where Desi is out of the picture, Mac would think twice before crossing that line with Riley.
And he knows she would too.
But that wall is there, Mac reminds himself again, and he and Desi are trying to make their relationship work. And as for Riley...
Riley will always be the “what if” he never got the chance to answer.
Mac can live with that. He doesn’t have a choice, really.
*****
Riley didn’t think about where was going. She just let her hands and feet take her where she needed to go, and it’s only in the comfortable quiet after Mac tells his stupid joke that Riley realizes what she’s done.
“I’ve never taken anyone here before,” she confesses suddenly. Riley found this lesser-known beach access point in high school, not long after getting her driver’s license. Her spot has always been a quiet place she could escape to when she needed to avoid the real world for a while. It has always been there for her—when Riley was mad or sad or frustrated, or when she just needed some alone time to think.
Mac snaps his head up in surprise. “Really?”
“Yeah.” Riley looks away. She wants to tell him, but she can’t bring herself to do it while he’s looking at her like that. “Though, I almost took Aubrey here once.”
“What stopped you?”
“I chickened-out at the last minute. I thought I was ready to share it with him, but there was this little voice in my head telling me to keep this place to myself. So I kept driving. I parked in the lot a couple miles south and said that was my spot.” Riley avoids thinking about what it might mean that she didn’t think twice about bringing Mac.
There’s a long pause, and then Mac says, “Thank you for sharing this with me. You didn’t have to. And for the record, even if you had told me about your spot, I never would’ve asked you to bring me here if you didn’t want to.”
It takes a couple tries to swallow the lump in her throat. “I think Aubrey knew I was lying,” Riley deflects. “So I made out with him long enough for him to forget, and he never brought it up later.” She picks at her nails. The dark gray polish is chipping; she’ll have to repaint them soon. “That was the only thing I ever lied to him about. Besides work stuff, of course. And we know how that turned out.”
The stench of seaweed and decay fills her nostrils. Riley focuses on it—anything to distract her from the scent of Mac’s laundry detergent. It’s plagued her ever since moving in with him after breaking up with Aubrey. The scent she’s long associated with safety and her friend—and now the person she has unrequited feelings for—follows her everywhere, since her clothes smell like it too. Most days Riley can ignore it, but sometimes....sometimes it feels like torture.
And right now, at her special spot, in his truck, wearing clothes that smell like him, it all feels like a mockery of what Riley wants and can never have.
Once, just this once, she lets herself imagine it anyway.
They’re on another drive, just like this one. It starts with stolen glances, then she switches to driving with one hand so the other can rest innocently on the center console, and soon enough, Mac’s fingers slip between hers.
Then they’re parked at Riley’s spot, and his lips are on her neck, trailing light kisses across her throat. They get a little carried away, marking skin and untucking shirts, and a murmured Let’s get out of here has Riley speeding home so they can continue this in private.
Riley shivers. Taking a deep breath, she tucks the fantasy into the far corner of her mind for safe keeping. Riley knows she should just let it go. There’s only so long she can sit in the silence, waiting for a sign and wondering if kissing him would really ruin everything they already have.
Riley finally dares to glance at Mac again. He’s already looking at her, still wearing that soft expression from before. It’s enough to make her wonder, what if?
What if he’s everything she ever wanted?
But what if she loses everything instead?

You thought you’d never see Miya Atsumu again but here he was, in your son's sports club, helping out Sugawara. Wasn’t it supposed to be volleyball season? What was he doing here? Helping the kids and picking up volleyballs? Didn’t he hate kids?
“...We train every morning and I personally train every night. You know my sched, it's what I did back then in college too.” He shrugs nonchalantly, “Plus I wanted to personally apologize to the brats too because of what ‘samu and I did.”
You tilt your head in curiosity, “What did younger Miya-san do?”
“Beat’s me, your brat told me that ‘samu made you cry when he confronted you,” he blinked, recalling the first meeting he had with the kid, come to think of it, they did had a pretty good reason to be wary of him from the start, “Must’ve said something really shitty if you cried, L/N-san. You never cried except that night at the frat party when I first actually got to talk to you.”
Nostalgia hits you when you recall that day, it was a shitty day indeed. The only upside was seeing and talking to Miya Atsumu for the first time and getting him to bandage your leg.
“Oh.”
“Oh indeed.” the blonde stated, wiggling his eyebrows, “He’s just overprotective sometimes which is weird since we used to get into fist fights. Doesn’t excuse him for being an asshole to ya though.”
“He was being rational.” You expressed, watching him pick up the last volleyball.
“He has no right to though.” he retorted, annoyed that you were letting it slide, “Let’s be honest here, who did you left six years ago?”
“What-”
“You left me.” He cuts you off, giving you no chance to talk, you’d think he’d sound bitter by it but he anything but that. It was as if he was proving a point, “And I’ll admit I was angry at first by what you did and how it ended but that doesn’t give my friends and my brother the right to intervene. I’m not a fucking kid, I know what I got into when we started dating.”
“Miya-san, I-”
“So let me make it up to you, alright? Before we started dating, I was your friend first. Now that we’re both responsible adults and you’re a single mom at least let your friend help you. You can handle that shit right?” He replied but before you could even agree to him, your kids went out of the comfort room, fully changed to dryer clothes.
“Kaasan!” They yell in unison but immediately stop in their tracks when they see Miya Atsumu standing next to you.
“What’s this jiji doing here?” Yuuto spat out bitterly, looking the other way. The younger twin followed suit and looked the other way too, making Atsumu laugh and bend down to their level, “I heard from your kaasan that you like to eat cake. How about a truce? I know a good place that sells good cakes.”
Yuuto and Youta eyed him warily and you patted the oldest twin’s head, “Baby don’t you have something to say to Miya-san too?” your voice was softer towards him, Atsumu still couldn’t get used to your personality switch with the twins. He watches in amusement as the twin tries to sputter out a sorry.
“S-so...sorry…” he frowned, “I should’ve been a big boy and not call you names.”
“Youta, you too.” You urged the younger one.
The other twin frowned and also had trouble apologizing to him like his twin, “S-Sorry...I won’t do the same…” he apologized under his breath.
Atsumu couldn’t help but laugh at the dynamic they seem to have created, at least they weren’t as close-minded as they were before, “No sweat, kid.” He said, “I’m sorry for making you feel bad and for what my brother did too. Now, let’s get that cake shall we?”
You hold Yuuto on one hand and Youta on the other as you head to his car, after helping the kids at the backseat, he opens the front seat for you, “Oh, um…” You blinked, the sudden feeling of embarrassment creeped in, “You didn’t have to-”
He rolls his eyes in reply, “Get in, L/N-san. I don’t bite.”
The boys were quiet at the back first until Atsumu tried to strike a conversation with them, “What made you guys like volleyball?”
Youta, being the more open one, suddenly jumps on his seat, “ ‘Kaasan has an old volleyball at home! We saw it and started asking her about it!”
“Oh?” he stops at the traffic light and stares at you, quite surprised since he never pegged you to keep something of his after the break-up, “Didn’t know you kept my old memorabilia with you.”
Yuuto’s eyes seem to widen when he hears that, “No way, that was yours?” he sputters out, shocked.
“Yeah.” he laughed, starting the car again when the light turned green, eyes crinkling in amusement, “Your ‘kaasan and I used to be very close before. I used to sleepover and leave some of my stuff at her place.”
“Hm.” you clicked your tongue, recalling those times when Atsumu would just come in your home unannounced like you both lived together, “He was incredibly all over the place and messy like you two.”
“Wow!” Youta grins, seemingly excited, “What was kaasan like, jiji? I bet she was super nice and caring and a super good friend!”
The look of amusement never left his face as he agreed to the young boy, the rest of the ride was filled with Youta being overly-excited and asking Atsumu about you during college and about how you met him, “We were in the same class.” You replied, seemingly indifferent by it. You were used to this question before.
“Nope.” He replied, popping the p, an amused smirk worming its way to his face as he recalls differently since he never told you how he met you, “I saw your mom around a lot during the first few months of school.”
You were turned silent by his story, you didn’t know this part. You always thought that the first time you and Atsumu got acquainted was in that minor class you took during the second semester, “...I had also accidentally hit your mom with one of my serves while she was looking for a friend.” He recounts, parking the car in front of a very aesthetically-looking cake shop.
Your brows furrowed in deep thought, that was him? How come-
“Your ‘kaasan’s too famous, she probably doesn’t even remember the minimal interaction we had.” he joked, feigning hurt.
“Wow mom, I bet you must’ve hated jiji when he hit you with those super powerful serves!”
“She probably would if she remembered.”
You take the kids out of the car but Youta was still too entranced by Atsumu that he went ahead and wobbled next to him. The tall volleyball player was nice enough to match the younger one’s pace as they walked towards the shop, “Traitor.” You heard Yuuto mutter as you trailed behind him.
“I thought you forgave him.”
“Won’t stop watchin’ at him though, ‘kaasan.”” He grumbled but you can tell he was starting to slowly soften up to the blonde.
Atsumu (after much persistence) paid for the cakes and even got you a sugar-free one, Youta was very elated as soon as his cake was served and Yuuto was muttering something about how unfair it was as he started to stuff on hiw own slice, the blonde laughed at the contrasting personalities. They were so alike yet so different at the same time.
It reminded him so much of ‘samu and him back then.
“Oh, wait a moment. I have to pick up this phone call. Would you mind watching them for a sec?” You asked, Atsumu shakes his head to the side and he watches you exit the shop and take the call, the familiar expression of your creased forehead and narrowed eyes coming into play.
“Jiji, have you ever met our otosan?” Youta suddenly asks.
Atsumu feels his heart waver, this was such a heavy topic to ask but Youta didn’t seem to know the weight of his words. Yuuto was quiet this time too, observing him intently, the blonde setter suddenly cleared his throat, “I heard your kaasan met your otosan right after she graduated early and left me suddenly.” he tried to smile, looking unaffected, “So no, I haven’t met him.”
“Is that why you're mad at ‘kaasan?” Yuuto suddenly asks, head tilt to the side, “Because she left you su-suddenly?” The boy seemed to have a problem with longer words but he seemed very perceptive for his age. ‘Gee, were kids always this nosy?’ the blonde setter thought.
 “Did your mom tell you that?” Atsumu lilted, dodging the question well, munching on his cake.
“She said that she broke something really bad that you owned.” Yuuto disclosed, brows furrowed together as if he was thinking very hard about what you said, “And that she deserved it”
Silence engulfed the table for a moment as he felt his throat dry up with the new load of information, “Your ‘kaasan is a very strong woman,” he began. The boy's eyes,especially Yuuto’s, lights up at the compliment they heard, “And she doesn’t deserve anything bad. So when someone tries to do something bad to her, even me, make sure you give’em a good spike.”
“Really?”
“Really, kiddo.” He hums in agreement, “You have to protect your ‘kaasan since your otosan isn’t here anymore.”
Youta’s eyes flicker at the mention of their father, “Jiji, you’re so funny.” he laughs very suddenly.
Atsumu’s brow upturns at the sudden statement of the twin.
“Otosan isn’t dead.” Atsumu feels his shoulder tense at those words, it seems like the twins were giving him such a field day today with questions and new information, “ ‘Kaasan says that he’s off somewhere following his dreams and he’ll come back soon.”
Tumblr media
Atsumu wants to ask about a lot of things.
He wants to ask about what Youta said, he wants to ask who the fucking asshole was, he wants to ask why you’re waiting for him when he left you hanging by a thread there with two kids.
He really does but when he drops you off at your home and a sudden troubled expression graces your features when you see an older woman standing there, he knows that it isn’t the right time. Instead, he quietly says goodbye and watches the interaction closely from a distance. A bit of worry filling him since he didn’t like that expression you were showing.
The twins didn’t seem to know who the older woman was but judging by her body language she knew you very well.
Come to think of it, her features were very familiar. Cold eyes, (h/c) hair, a very familiar facial feature.
Could it be-
“Y/N…” she tries to call out but you immediately walk past her, paying her no attention. He feels nervous, “Y/N, please don’t ignore me. I’m your okaasan-”
Suddenly he realizes why he has never met your family at all.
Judging by the interaction he sees, you were anything but close with them and that your relationship with them was stagnant (it probably worsened since you got kids at an early age and the father left you to dry). The kids probably don’t even know who that woman was, you continue to ignore her as you sons look at her warily.
When she starts to get physical, he gets out of the car and tries to stop the women from getting any closer to you and the boys, “What are you doing? Don’t you know who I am-” the woman tries to yell her way through but the blonde notices how you flinch away from her as soon as you hear her loud voice and hide the kids behind you as if you were protecting them.
“She doesn’t want to see you or have her near her kids, so please leave before I call security.” Atsumu tried to calm the situation down, not wanting to raise his voice, he could be wrong about his assumptions and he didn’t want to let your mom see him in a bad light.
“You don’t understand-”
“Obaasan.” his voice was anything but nice and friendly now, he wanted to try and respect the woman who brought you to this world, he really does, but right now he wouldn’t mind calling the cops on her if she resorted to making a scene here,  “Please leave before I call for security.”
Your mother grips on her expensive handbag tight and with one last glance to you, she immediately walks away. You don’t notice how you’re shaking and that Youta is crying behind you while Yuuto is trying his best to calm his twin down by insulting him and calling him a crybaby.
“L/N-san, are you-”
“I’m fine.” You cut him off, taking in a few deep breaths to calm you down, “I’m fine.”
He grabs your wrist and stares at you dead in the eye, “You’re shaking, Y/N.” He suddenly says your name softly, you're scared that if he goes nearer, he’d hear your ranging heart beat so you take a step further back and let go of his hold.
Atsumu narrows his eyes and tightens his lips at your response but decides against it, instead he turns to Youta and Yuuto, “I have a game next week and I got extra tickets, would you like to watch? The adlers and I will be playing, I heard one of ya likes Tobio-chan so much.”
Youta finally stops crying as soon as he hears the mention of free tickets and turns to a bundle of excited energy. Yuuto even starts jumping up and down at the mention of Kageyama Tobio.
Atsumu still has a lot of questions for you though, about your family, why you haven’t mentioned them, or the fact that their asshole of a father just left you to fulfill his dreams (he’s angry, very angry especially about this one) yet when he sees the small smile on your lips as you watch your kids jump up and down.
He holds back.
Those questions can wait another day.

The jetlag must have hit you bad because the sun is shining in brightly through the windows and it's about to be 1PM.
"Aw, fuck." You say to yourself as you sit up and rub your face to wake yourself up. You feel like you've been hit by a truck, but there was no way you were going to spend your day sleeping and getting yourself on track. Time is of the essence.
You head downstairs to the bathroom to wash up and start getting yourself ready for today. The TV is on a random channel while you toast yourself some bread to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You didn't feel too hungry, solely because you were more excited to get out there and try the local food.
As you finish up your sandwich, you start to make your way back upstairs to get into your outfit, but you suddenly stop when you hear a voice outside in the hallway. At first, it didn't cause any alarm because it sounded distant enough to make you think it wasn't coming towards your way. However, that quickly changes when the voice is right outside the door and is clear as day.
"Yo, Yana! Open up!" The knocks came suddenly on the door. You hesitated, wondering if Yana had also just left without giving anyone a heads up because who in the hell was this man pounding on her door at this time? The day barely started for you. "Yana! Come on! Quit playing around before I knock this door down myself!" You definitely didn't want that, so you cross your arms tightly near your chest as you walk to the door. You reach for the door handle to swing it open, revealing a somewhat flustered male standing in front of you with a huge tupperware of food in his hands.
"Uh, hi? Can I help you?"
"You're not.. Yana?" His eyebrows furrowed. He welcomes himself in, almost causing you to trip over yourself as you move aside, checking the bathroom and quickly glancing up and around the loft.
"Last time I checked, I sure wasn't." You shut the door and cross your arms tightly as you watch him stand there. You couldn't help but notice how attractive he was - standing at a good 5'9-5'10, fair skin, grey, ash-blonde hair that was parted down the middle, with some layers falling around the front of his face. His lips were pink and plump, and you couldn't help but gaze at his beautiful eyes, which for sure had grey tinted lenses in at the moment. You could see his resemblance to Yana. He seemed way too unreal though, in a good way. You quickly checked your appearance in the mirror through the bathroom, making sure your hair wasn't a mess or that you weren't a mess in general. But lo and behold, you were still in your Hello Kitty pajama shirt and shorts.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to barge in like that. I'm Yana's brother, Jimin. Park Jimin." He softly smiles at you and shows off his pearly whites, his hand on the nape of his neck as he quickly checks you out from head to toe. "Nice jammies."
"Well, I wasn't necessarily expecting an intrusion at this time." You wrap your arms around your chest to cover up Hello Kitty as much as you can.
"Right, sorry. She wasn't answering my calls or texts so I came over here to check on her, plus my mom asked me to bring this over. Any idea where she might be since you're apparently occupying her space now?"
"She didn't tell you anything?" His right eyebrow raises.
"No? Care to fill me in?"
"She put her loft up on a home exchange website, so we decided to swap homes for a bit. She's down at my apartment in California right n-"
"California? Since when? How long is she going to be there for?" He laughed a bit. "You're talking about my sister Yana, right? She doesn't go anywhere. She barely even leaves her house."
"I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same Yana." You pursed your lips into a fine line before chiming in again. "I just got here yesterday afternoon, so I'm sure she's still getting herself situated. We're switching back after Christmas."
"Why didn't she say anything?" You can tell the question wasn't necessarily directed towards you and moreso just Jimin thinking out loud, but you respond anyway. He has such a soft demeanor that you don't feel threatened by him being around you at all, even if this whole thing was accidental.
"I don't.. know? I'm really sorry, I don't know what to tell you." You shrugged. You felt bad Yana's own brother was out of the loop, but you get it. You were in the same spot as she was. You just had to do what you had to do without anyone holding you back sometimes.
"Nah, no worries. I'll get a hold of her somehow." He shakes his head and makes his way to the kitchen. He places the tupperware he has in his hands in the fridge, then toothlessly smiles back at you as it closes. "Since you're here, help yourself to my mom's food."
"Mm, are you sure? I mean I don't want to-"
He chuckled and ran his hand through his hair. "Seriously, Yana isn't here to eat it and it shouldn't go to waste."
"Why don't you eat it?"
"Because I have my own at home." He smiled. "You're not going to get out of this one, you know?"
"Thank you. Or, um, thanks to your mom." You rub your arm as you chuckle nervously while following him to the door. The fuck Y/N, don't start acting up around him now.
"Sorry about that again." He turns to smile at you again, hands now deep in his pockets. "I didn't catch your name?"
"Y/N."
"Nice to meet you." Jimin nods and chuckles. "I promise I don't just barge into people's homes like that."
"Mhm, your sister must think you're a handful."
"If anything, she's the handful, clearly." He cocks his head to the side. "California, huh?"
"The golden state." You shrug and chuckle. Really, Y/N? The golden state?
"I bet." Is all he says before he starts to back away from the door. "Well, I don't want to take more time out of your day. You must have some plans to get through. Thanks again, Y/N."
"Yeah, no problem." You watch as he walks down the hallway. As he descends down the steps, you gently shut the door and walk upstairs to finish getting ready so you can finally start your first adventure. To where? You don't know and that's a-okay.
[Y/N] 1:56pm: Hey Yana, I hope you're settled in! Your brother came here to drop off some food and to check on you. I may have told him you were in California, but I didn't say anything else after that. I'm sorry :( Hopefully that doesn't cause issues. Let me know if you need anything.
[Yana] 2:05pm: Hey! Haha no worries, I'm struggling a little with the sleep schedule but I'll be fine. Thanks for letting me know! Was he mad?
[Y/N] 2:07pm: No, he just couldn't believe you were out there since he claims you don't leave the house often. Haha.
[Yana] 2:08pm: Wow, he said that? Very Jimin like. He's 25 years old going on 80 so he shouldn't be one to talk. Agh, can't live with him, can't live without him. I'll deal with it. Hope my little brother didn't bother you too much after that! Many apologies if he did!
From what you gather, Yana is super sweet and you can tell she has a close relationship with her brother. You were quite surprised Jimin was her little brother, simply due his slightly overprotective nature and how he threatened to break down the door. Nonetheless, Jimin seemed to be concerned for his sister's wellbeing and you could tell he was sad when he realized she wasn't going to be around for awhile. You truly hope you didn't mess anything up or cause any issues for her plans though. It reminds you of your own friends and how you'll probably get the same earful in the next couple of hours. Until then though, you stick to the plan and tuck your phone deep into your bag before navigating the nearby streets to do some exploring.
Meanwhile, Jimin tosses his keys onto the kitchen counter as he enters the apartment he shares with his two bestfriends.
"You find her?" Taehyung sits on the couch with one foot up. He's holding a cup of tea in his hand while watching a movie on TV.
"Yana?"
"I'm sorry, were you looking for someone else besides your sister?" Taehyung asks sarcastically, which Jimin ignores.
"No, but I met Y/N." Jimin flatly responds as he plops onto the couch next to him and pulls up Yana's number to get a hold of her.
"Who is Y/N?"
"She's living at Yana's."
"Wait, what? She has a roommate now?" Taehyung looked at him, completely and utterly confused with this whole conversation.
"Nope. My sister is apparently in California cause she swapped homes with her."
"That's a thing?"
"I guess so." Taehyung watches as Jimin puts the phone to his ear.
"Yana, what the hell?" Jimin says into the phone as he stands up and walks towards his room.
"Calm down, fool. Why did you barge into my place like that? Perfect impression to give Y/N while she's still settling down."
"Why didn't you tell me you were going to California for the holidays?" He ran his hand through his hair. As guessed, he indeed had a very close relationship to his sister. Knowing she wouldn't be around for Christmas made him a pretty sad. He knew Yana had been wanting to get away for a bit, especially with the personal things she had going on, but he had wished she talked to him about what was going on first. He wanted to help in any way that he could.
"Because I knew if I did, you'd try and stop me."
"N-no!" He stuttered. "No, I wouldn't."
"Yes, you would've. Or, you would have tried to come with."
"What's wrong with that?"
"Chim, I just really want my own time in a new setting, away from everything that's familiar. Just for a bit." Jimin sighed. He wasn't going to argue.
"Alright, I get it. Please just stay safe out there, okay?"
"Yeah, I will. I'm surprised you haven't ran to mom yet." He chuckled.
"Jeez, is that what you think of me? A tattle-tale?"
"Mm, sometimes." She laughed. "You can be quite the baby."
"Hey, woah! This wasn't supposed to be about me." He grabbed his chest, feeling a little attacked by his sister. "Look, I'm not gonna say anything but eventually she's gonna notice. You know her."
"Then let her, I'll deal with it then."
"Alright, go for it." Jimin threw his hand up in defeat like Yana can see him somehow. Mom wasn't scary; if anything, she was always super supportive. However, Jimin and Yana both knew she'd be nothing but a worried mess knowing Yana was out in California on her own. "Let me know if you need anything from me, okay? Watch out for yourself down there."
"I will. I'll talk to you later, I'm gonna try to get on with my day before all I do is sleep. I love you."
"Love you too." Yana hangs up the phone, sighing at the mess she created with her luggage sprawled out in the room. She tried digging for something more appropriate for the Los Angeles weather at the moment, in which the sun was shining warmly but the surrounding morning air was cold. She headed back into the living room to scroll through her phone and figure out what to do with her day. She could go for some good coffee and breakfast right now, but where? Something walkable? She figured she could also uber around until she got used to the public transportation around here.
Some pancakes, eggs and—
Knock, knock, knock.
Yana sprung her head up to face the door, unsure of who could be here this early. She too was wondering if you had just left without notice, or if it could be the mailman delivering a package. But, this early? Is this how they did it in California? She peeks through the peephole to see a rather tall figure, wearing a beanie, hoodie, sweats, a coat and sneakers. He held two cups of coffee in his hands as he waited patiently for the door to be swung open.
"Hi." Yana said, cocking her head to the side as she held onto the door knob. He furrowed his eyebrows, confused as to why she was answering the door and not his bestfriend.
"Hi, I'm sorry. Is Y/N here?" Yana chuckled and shook her head. Figures. They were exactly on the same page with this swap.
"No, I'm sorry. She's in Seoul." His eyes widened.
"Seoul? As in South Korea Seoul?" She nodded.
"Yeah, we swapped homes for the month. Sorry, I'm guessing she didn't tell you anything." He shook his head. "Come in. I'm Yana." She smiled, having him return the smile back.
"Namjoon." He steps in and directly goes for the kitchen to place the coffee cups down. "Help yourself to the coffee I brought over."
"Thanks." She smiled softly.
"So, when exactly did this swap happen?"
"I just got here not too long ago, actually. Y/N just got situated too."
"Damn, that recent?" Namjoon shook his head. "I don't get why she just upped and left like that."
"I'm sorry, I'm sure it wasn't anything personal."
"No need to apologize." He chuckled. "I'm kind of just thinking out loud here. It's a little random, that's all. I'm sure I'll hear the reasoning soon." He leaned his back against the counter. Yana thought he was really attractive, with the way he leaned back against the counter, buff arms crossed at the chest. She knew her reasoning for agreeing to the swap, especially with the troubles she's had with her ex, Jackson. But, to be honest, she wouldn't mind running into this man every so often. He showed off his dimple when he smiled and chuckled earlier, giving off some sort of calmness to his personality.
"Yeah, I'm sure you will."
"Did you guys know each other for awhile or something?"
"Nope, met completely out of the blue on the home exchange site."
"Nice." He nodded. He was just confused and almost shocked that you left without briefing him and Yoongi. Not that you owed them any explanation, but you've all been so transparent with each other due to the nature of your relationship. Why did you go off so far? Why didn't you let them tag along? What kind of Hannah Montana ass life are you living? "Definitely not something Y/N would do." Namjoon did a little head tilt.
"Are you her.. significant other?"
"God, no." He made a sour face. "We've been close since high school. Me, her and our other friend Yoongi. It's always been us three." She nodded.
"That's sweet." He smiled at her toothlessly, keeping his gaze on her as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She felt her cheeks heat up, so she couldn't help but break the staring game by looking down at the floor.
"Sorry, you must have things to do. I'll get going." He pushed off on the counter.
"I was actually just trying to figure out what I could do with my day. Any recommendations?"
"Tons. Depends on what you're looking to do to start off your first day in LA." She chuckled.
"Not too much since the jetlag will hit me sometime soon."
"I can show you around if you'd like? It's honestly not easy getting around here without a car. Uber is cool and all but those surcharges can get to you." She smiled but hesitated to answer. They had literally just met, but she didn't feel any weird vibes coming from him. If anything, he was already showing how down to earth and laid back he was. "Only if you'd like, of course. I promise I don't bite or anything." She chuckled.
"Actually, yeah. I'm down for that. I just need to go get ready."
"Take your time." Namjoon hung over the kitchen counter to go through his phone as Yana walked away. He figured he could help her get some breakfast and take her down to Santa Monica, for starters.
Tumblr media
Later that afternoon, Namjoon brought Yana back home to rest up early. There were only so many things you could do from early on and he could tell she was getting pretty tired even though she tried her hardest to keep up, which made him feel bad. He got to his apartment that he shared with Yoongi and threw his beanie and keys off to the side of the dining table.
“Yoongi-ah!” He called out for Yoongi. The boy came out of his room, looking like he had just woken up from a deep nap.
“Why are you yelling for me?”
“Did you know Y/N was in Seoul?”
“Our Y/N? In Seoul?”
“Yes, that’s what I just asked.” Yoongi scratched his head and sat down on the couch, head tilting back to rest on it.
“No. The fuck? Since when?”
“Like a day or whatever ago, I don’t really want to calculate the time difference right now.”
“Why is she there?”
“Dunno. Wanna find out?” Yoongi scrolled through his phone and shook his head.
“They’re 15 hours ahead, so it’s like 8:30 AM there. I wouldn’t do that if I were you. She’s probably ti-” Namjoon instantly went into the Favorites tab of his phone to quickly pull up your contact info and call you. “Alright, don’t say I didn’t tell you so.” The first time he called you through Facetime, you didn't pick up. So he tries again, completely ignoring the whole time difference shpeel from Yoongs.
"What?" You asked groggily on the other line, eyes still closed while you had the phone staring up at the ceiling so Namjoon couldn't see you.
"How's Seoul?"
"Namjoon, leave me alone. It's 8AM."
"You’re usually up by that time when you’re here, get up out of that bed.”
“Clearly, I’m not home. You just said it.” You groaned.
“I told you she would be mad.” Yoongi peeks his head into the small Facetime frame on Namjoon’s phone. “Just for the record Y/N, I told him not to call you.”
“Why didn't you tell me?! I brought coffee only to find Yana at your apartment.” Namjoon continues to ignore all cues.
"You met her and she had coffee. Sounds like a win-win to me."
"Why didn't you say anything?" He whined.
"Because I knew if I did, you and Yoongi would try and come along."
"Ah, wait, wait. Is that so bad?!" Yoongi chimed in, a little hurt from that statement.
"I love you both dearly, but I really just wanted this to be solo-dolo." Namjoon sighed.
"Are you okay at least?"
"Yes, I promise. I'd be even more fine if you both let me get a little bit more sleep."
"You didn't do this because of Romeo, did you?"
"I'd be lying if I said no. Look, for the most part, I just wanted to get away from LA for a bit. Get away from work and all the other stressors that home has been bringing. Okay?”
"I get it."
"Now stop going to my house and scaring Yana, you giant."
"I took her around today."
"Don't start with the funny business, Joonie."
"And what if the funny business comes to me instead?" He pulled the camera close to his face, smirking and wiggling his eyebrows. ‘You’re ugly,’ You hear Yoongi faintly say in the background, who is now completely out of the frame.
"Bye." You hang up and turn over to try and head back to sleep. Let's get this straight - you love Namjoon and Yoongi. You've done a lot of things together and you always look for their company. But, there were things you needed to get past on your own. The work stress and the impostor syndrome, keeping up with LA, your ex and the on and off years you've been putting yourself through all the hurt.
You felt like you really couldn't blame anyone but yourself, especially with Romeo and how he had been treating you. He had been treating you like a convenience and he never showed any effort. Yet, you always gave in because this was a man you loved for nearly the past 5 years.
It was just time. You were done. You had to remind yourself who you were.

Turned - Dewdrop Ghoul (Ghost)
I had a thought...what if when Ghoul bites a human, they turn into a Ghoul like a vampire? Lmao, I am sleep deprived😅
Also, I suck at giving titles to my work ughhhh sorry
~~~~~~~~~~
You were born into the ministry, being the child of a Clergy member, so you grew up around the Ghouls.
Still being a child, you loved playing with the Ghouls. You always played a little rough for most human children to handle, so it was like a match made in Hell when you met the Ghouls.
At first, your parents were more than a little hesitant to let you play with the Ghoul children. But when they saw how happy you were with them, they started to chill out about it.
The little Ghouls adored you, not really having much interaction with creatures outside their own kind. They always thought of humans as fragile and soft, but they were pleasantly surprised when they met you.
Compared to how the Ghouls played with each other, you were a bit mild, but they didn’t mind. Although, they were still told to keep their sharp claws retracted and their teeth off of you while you played. Though, sometimes they’d headbutt you, thankfully their horns hadn’t grown in just yet.
You loved all the Ghouls, but surprisingly, Dewdrop was your favorite to play with. You liked how he wasn’t really afraid to accidentally hurt you. There have many moments when some Clergy members were biting their nails nervously watching how rough you both played, afraid that the fire Ghoul would be too rough and seriously hurt you.
You remembered one of Dew’s fellow Ghouls saying, “Oh man, there’s two of them.” Or something like that.
But he had never hurt you. Until today.
You and the Ghouls were play fighting as you guys usually did on the private playground of the abbey. All the Ghouls except Dewdrop had enough, starting to get a bit tired. But Dew seemed to have infinite stamina, which you appreciated since you were the same way.
Eventually, the Ghouls went inside the building, leaving you two outside being supervised by a couple Sisters of Sin. They weren’t doing a very good job though, as you and Dewdrop decided to sneak away from the Sisters.
You both giggled triumphantly as you rounded the corner of one of the halls of the ministry, both overjoyed that you were successful in avoiding the unwanted adult supervision.
You and Dewdrop tried to stifle your giggles as you heard the stomping footsteps of the Sisters trying to look to you both. “Those two are little menaces.” You heard, almost causing you to chortle but was stopped when Dew quickly placed his hand over your mouth.
As soon as you saw that the coast was clear, you decided to playfully bite Dew’s hand, causing him to mewl in pain. “Ow!” He whined.
You rolled your eyes. “Don’t be such a baby!” You teased, not knowing that you did actually bite too hard.
Dewdrop got angry really quick and started growling at you, showing his sharp teeth. “I’m gonna kill you!” He shouted, causing you to flinch.
Being a child, you didn’t really have a sense for danger and decided to goad him on. “Oh, really? Well, you’ll have to catch me first!” You giggled, starting to race down the empty halls.
Dewdrop immediately started chasing after you, his anger growing more fierce with every smug smirk you threw his way. Still, you were unaware he was actually mad. You just thought it was another game you two were playing.
As the seconds passed and sneaking some looks over your shoulder, you started to realize it wasn’t just a game. Dewdrop looked pissed. Seeing how his claws were out and his fangs peeking out through his little mask, you started to feel the panic set in.
You quickened your pace, not wanting to find out if your friend really wanted to kill you. He wouldn’t...right?
And in horror movie fashion, you managed to trip over your own feet and almost face-planted into the pristine marble flooring of the hallway.
You didn’t even have time to turn around before you felt Dew’s smaller body crash on top of you, wrestling you into a position where you couldn’t move or fight back.
You heard a clinking sound and you looked to the side to see Dewdrop’s mask was discarded on the floor, and you feared the worst.
You heard Dew growl before you felt a sharp, stinging pain in your shoulder. Again, being a child, you thought you were dying and let out a loud scream that echoed through the halls. So loud in fact, you let almost everyone in the building know exactly where you were.
After what felt like forever to you, the fresh stinging pain went away and you felt your friend get off of you. You slowly sat up, still in pain.
You looked up to see Dewdrop towering over you, his mask neatly placed back over his face. You noticed the visible part of his face, his chin, was coated in a red liquid. You furrowed your brows, innocently asking yourself when did he have time to eat red jello?
Looking to where your aching pain was, you finally realized you were bleeding and that the red liquid that was dripping off of Dew’s chin was blood.
“You bit me?!” You shouted.
Dewdrop’s mouth curled into a wicked grin, showing off his now blood coated fangs. “Now you know how it feels.” He said spitefully, wiping some blood off with the back of his hand.
Both you and Dew jumped when you heard loud gasps, him turned around and you slightly leaning to the side to see past.
It was the Sisters that were assigned to watch you, your mother, and Sister Imperator. Uh oh...
You were immediately taken to the infirmary by Sister with your worried mother by your side. Your wound really didn’t hurt that much when you arrived there, but you liked the attention that you received from the doctor and nurses.
In the end, you had to have a few stitches for the particularly deep teeth marks but other than that you were going to be fine. That’s what they assumed anyway.
You and your mother were about to exit the building until you heard your name being called out. You turned to see Dewdrop walking towards you, Sister Imperator keeping a firm hand on the back of the fire Ghoul’s neck. He was obviously not comfortable.
Your mother quickly pushed you behind her, ready to protect you from the Ghoul.
“Someone wants to apologize.” Sister said, glaring down at the small Ghoul. “Dew.”
Dewdrop’s ears were pushed back and his tail was thrashing back and forth, but he stepped forward and sighed. “...I’m sorry I bit you.” He mumbled.
“Speak clearly.” Sister’s authoritative voice boomed.
Dewdrop flinched. “I’m sorry I bit you, Y/N.”
You giggled, making Dew’s eyes light up hopefully. “It’s okay. I forgive you. I’m that I bit you too.”
After that, you were taken home to get some well needed rest.
Trying to get comfortable with your shoulder wound was difficult since you usually laid on your side when you slept, and you also started to feel unusually finicky as the sun went down. Your mom just wrote it off as the adrenaline from getting hurt that day, but you still worried about how you felt.
By the time midnight rolled around, it was way past your bedtime, you still felt strange. Your heart was racing and you felt your wound itch severely, but you weren’t able to scratch it due to the heavy bandage covering it.
You thought about removing the bandage, but didn’t want to be yelled at. But it was so itchy. Suddenly, your eyes started it itch too.
You got up out of bed with a huff and went into your bathroom. Turning on the light burned your eyes. It was normal for your eyes to burn when you turned on lights after being in the dark for so long, but you felt that it was worse than usual. It felt like your eyes were more sensitive than normal.
You wanted to remove your bandage just to see how it looked, but you saw something else when you looked in the mirror.
You gasped, noticing your eyes weren’t their natural color. One of your eyes were almost a bright yellow color, and the other eye was slowly turning the same. Slowly devouring up the normal color of your iris.
You didn’t know what to do, so you screamed for your mom.
Your mom quickly ran into your bathroom, fearing that you were hurt. But she immediately noticed your almost multicolored eyes. Those were not the eyes of the child she had raised for eight years.
She quickly saw that you were crying, you were scared. You didn’t know what was happening to you.
Suddenly, you felt a horrible pain in your mouth and yelped. Your mother screamed and you followed her gaze to the floor, where you saw teeth. Your teeth.
You reached up to your mouth to feel for your teeth, not believing that you had actually lost them. But you pulled away when you felt your fingers sting, they were cut.
You looked back into the mirror to see that your previous teeth were pushed out by new sharp teeth, a couple being fangs. “Mommy, what’s happening to me?!”
Your parents did what the only thing they thought they could do. They put you in the backseat of their car and started driving to the abbey.
On the way, you started crying again. The pain from your mouth ending, only to be replaced by what felt like a migraine on two sides of your head.
Your mother was sat on the passenger’s side, looking back at you from time to time with tears in her eyes. She almost let out a sob when she saw two stubby bone-like growths coming out of your head.
Your father didn’t even have time to park before your mom brought you inside the building, immediately shouting for help.
Sister Imperator came out in a robe with a scowl on her face, but once she saw you and your parents, her face contorted into a worried gaze. “What happened?” She asked.
“She just started losing teeth and her eyes changed colors! And now she’s growing horns!” Your mother cried.
All the commotion caught the attention of the Ghouls, the loud noises waking them up due to their sensitive hearing. They all gathered and peeked around the corner, curiously looking at each other. They all started pushing each other to try and see what was happening, ultimately falling on top of each other and catching the attention of Sister.
“You all are supposed to be in bed!” Sister Imperator scolded.
“Y/N?” Dewdrop said. “What are you doing here?” He asked, completely ignoring Sister.
“Keep that thing away from my child! He did this to them!” Your mother yelled, making Dewdrop turn his head in confusion.
“Now, now. Everyone calm down.” A heavy Italian accented voice echoed the room. Sister Imperator sighed when she saw Papa Nihil come into the room, oxygen tank trailing behind him. “I’ll take it from here, Sister.”
The old man led you and your parents into his office, pulling out a huge dusty book from a shelf. “Can you explain what’s going on, Papa?” Your father asked.
“I believe I can.” Papa Nihil said as he opened the book, dust flying everywhere as he turned the pages. “I’ve read about this before, hearing rumors of this sort of thing.”
Your parents motioned him to continue.
“It’s only really been recorded once in this book, but according to this section here,” Papa placed a shaky finger on a passage of the page, “it says that if a Ghoul bites a human, they have a five percent possibility of turning into a Ghoul themselves.”
“Five percent?!” Your father laughed. “Then how come my child is turning into one of those creatures?”
“Lower your voice. I know you’re upset, but this was an accident. We train our Ghouls from birth to never bite without cause.”
“Well, now, because of your Ghoul, our child will never life a normal life!”
You started to cry, not because you truly understood what that meant, but because you never liked when your parents raised their voice.
“This is not the time for raised voices. Think of the child.” Papa’s voice softened.
After some more grown up talk, your parents and Papa Nihil decided that you were to live at the abbey for now. They had no idea what the change from human to ghoul would be like, so they’d rather be safe than sorry.
At first, you really didn’t want to leave your home. But your parents convinced you that it was for the best, and you trusted your parents. You also liked the idea of being able to hang around the Ghouls more.
You spent the next morning packing your things, getting ready to live in the abbey from now on, until they decided you were safe. Your mother cried as you packed, which made you sad. But you tried to be strong for her.
A Sister of Sin and Papa Nihil escorted you out of your house and to the abbey, Papa trying to get you excited to be living there. You always liked Papa, he was a funny old man.
All the Ghouls, Papas, Sisters of Sin, and Sister Imperator greeted you at the front gate of the building. They tried to make you feel as welcome as possible to help you transition into Clergy life.
Dewdrop seemed especially excited, bouncing on the balls of his feet. He was nervous to see you, not entirely sure if you turning into a Ghoul was his fault. He didn’t want you to hate him.
Upon seeing you, Dew quickly noticed your eyes. They were almost like his, but one of your eyes hadn’t fully changed colors. And your horns were coming in slowly, just like the rest of the Ghouls. But what really intrigued Dewdrop was your scent. He no idea why you smelled so good to him, it almost made him gravitate toward you immediately. But he was forced to stay in line with his fellow Ghouls.
For you, it was a bit weird seeing Dew again. You were still kind of scared that he’d bite you again, you also were starting to feel things that weren’t familiar to you either. It scared you.
But seeing Dewdrop’s warm smile made you feel hopeful for the future.
~~~~~~~~~~
I am so tired lol. I kinda feel like if a ghoul turns someone into another ghoul, they’d have like a type of sire bond. Like in vampire diaries only they wouldn’t be under the original ghoul’s control, but like in a romantic way they’d be bonded. But hey, that’s just a theory. A fiiiiiiilm theory...sorry.

A/N: So this has been about 3-4 days in the making, because I hit a bit of a block the other day but then I accidentally cranked out almost 2k more words than planned. I was gonna do some heavy editing but I ended up going back and adding a whole extra part of the story so it’s heavily unedited lmao. Let me know if you like it!
Finding Out
“So, your period is late, and you have had migraines, nausea, and food cravings for the last two weeks?” Your best friend Sarah Cameron says to you, walking back from her massive en suite bathroom into her even bigger bedroom. “We need to get you a test,” She’s currently helping you figure out your situation. You think you might be pregnant. It makes sense when you start thinking back to the times you and your boyfriend, JJ, had sex to see if you could remember a time you didn’t use protection. There were a few that came to mind. The most recent being when the two of you had been making out in the hammocks and things got a little too heated. That was a month and a half ago.
Your stomach is turning from anxiety. You were only 18, and JJ 19. What would you do about school? Or Kie, your sister? Not to mention the fact that your parents would probably die. You can feel your eyes welling up but then your stomach turns and you have to rush to Sarah’s bathroom to puke for what seems like the 10th time today.
Sarah follows you, holding your hair and rubbing your back while you empty your insides into her toilet. When you’re about done she stands up to fill a small cup with water and hand it to you for you to sip on. She grabs a towel and dampens it with some warm water to dab at your sweaty face and forehead, “I’m sorry, Sarah.” You manage weakly.
“Oh, no, babes. You have nothing to be sorry for. How about you lay down on my bed while I see if I can find you a test? Want me to call JJ and see if he would come to see you?”
“Oh, shit. I completely forgot about JJ. No, don’t call him. I need to see the tests for myself first before I talk to him about it.” Sarah nods in understanding, helping you back to her bed and covering you with a blanket before leaving for what you assume is the store. Despite all you’re worried, you drift off, exhausted from puking your guts out all morning.
You wake up to the sound of Sarah clicking away on her keyboard at her desk. When she sees you sit up she turns to you, “Feeling any better? I got a couple of tests at the store, but I didn’t want to wake you when I got back.”
“A lot better actually,” Your head had stopped its incessant pounding and your stomach had settled. “Thank you for this, Sarah. I don’t know what I’d do without you.” You walk over to the older girl, hugging her.
“Of course, anytime. Now, you have some sticks to pee on!” She tries to brighten the mood, making you chuckle. You take a deep breath and head to the bathroom.
Wait 8 minutes and if you are pregnant, two bold pink lines will appear on the screen.
It had been 7 minutes and you were pacing around Sarah’s bedroom. “Y/N, calm down.” She grabs your arm, “Whatever the outcome, it will be okay.”
You sigh, trying to slow your breathing, “I know, I’m just anxious. Why do these tests take so long?” Just then, your 8-minute timer rings and you jump at the sudden noise, “Sarah I can’t look.”
“I’ll look with you, okay? You have to know.” She grips your arm tight as you walk to the bathroom, looking at the 3 tests on the counter. You gasp when you see six bold pink lines from all the tests.
“Oh my god, oh my god,” You walk to Sarah’s bed again, feeling like you might fall over. “Oh my god, Sarah. What am I gonna do? How am I gonna tell JJ? What will Kie, or my parents say?” You ramble, your breaths getting quicker with each word.
“Hey, hey. One thing at a time, okay?” You nod, “First thing you need to do, tell JJ. You may not want to but he needs to know, and I am pretty sure it would take a lot more than a product of your love to make him stop loving you. That boy is whipped, he’s not going anywhere. Also, if he tries to leave you Kie and I will kick his ass.”
You smile, Sarah’s words reassuring you,  “Okay, you’re right. I just need the right time to tell him. My parents are going on a date tonight, so Kie is working The Wreck. I could invite him over?”
“Perfect!”
Telling JJ
You breathe deeply, trying to calm yourself about the night ahead of you. You were going to tell JJ tonight. Sarah had offered to be there but you knew this was something you had to do on your own. Luckily, your nausea had calmed down after your nap at Sarah’s and your anxiety about the situation was doing much better due to Sarah’s reassurances.
Just as you were pulling your hair into a messy bun, you hear a knock on the door. Taking one more calming breath, you go downstairs and open the door.
The blonde boy’s eyes trail up your body clad in his hoodie and short shorts, “You look so pretty in my clothes, babe.” He moves forward to wrap his arms around you, “Are you feeling better? Sarah said you were pretty sick this morning,” He presses a soft kiss to your neck, nuzzling his nose into you.
You pull away and look up at his bright blue eyes. He frowns when you leave his embrace, sensing your tension. “That’s what I wanted to talk to you about, J.”
You see the panic rise in him, “Oh my god, are you okay? Is something wrong? You aren’t badly sick, are you? You’re doing okay and everything? I couldn’t stand it if-”
“I’m pregnant,” You cut off his rambles and his eyes widen.
“What did you just say?”
You feel fear rising in you, “I’m pregnant,” You repeat softly.
You’re about to start crying with the silence that follows when his face breaks into a smile. “Oh my god, you’re pregnant? My baby is in you? Oh my god, baby!” He picks you up in a hug and spins you around. He must feel your tears on his shoulder because he puts you down, looking at you with concern, “Why’re you crying, princess? I mean, I know we’re young but I’ve known since before we started dating that I wanted to have a family with you. This is like a head start.”
His words make you sob, “No, it’s happy tears. I’m so relieved you’re happy. I can handle Kie and my parents and the pogues being mad, but not you. I have my first ultrasound on Friday and I want you to come. I figure we can get a few extra copies of it as our way of telling people.”
He smiles softly, “Anything for you and our little one. How are you feeling now? Are you hungry? Wanna sit down?”
You laugh at his antics, “I’m craving some spaghetti and I really wanna snuggle with my boyfriend while watching Disney movies.”
“One plate of spaghetti and a boyfriend who loves watching Tangled with his baby mama.” He winks at you, knowing your favorite Disney movie since you made him watch it on one of your first dates. He presses a kiss to your cheek, heading to the kitchen to make dinner for the two of you.
Later, when you’re lying on the couch together watching Flynn and Rapunzel launch lanterns into the sky, JJ looks at you seriously, “I don’t want to be like him.”
This makes your heart clench for the boy, “You won’t, J. I promise you won’t. You’re already nothing like them. When you met my little cousins for the first time, you were so compassionate and patient with them. That was the first time I really knew I wanted you to be the father of my children.”
He kisses your forehead, “I love you so much gorgeous, we’re in this together.”
You lay your head back on his warm chest, “I love you too, so much, J.”
Telling Everyone
Your ultrasound went well, you found out that you were 6 weeks along. JJ and you both tearing up at the sound of your baby’s heartbeat. You got a few extra copies of the ultrasound and that’s when you started getting nervous about telling your parents. About half an hour ago you had told the pogues to meet you at The Wreck where you knew your parents and sister already were. Now, you and JJ were standing outside hand in hand. He gave yours a little squeeze and you guys went inside.
“Hey guys! What’s this meeting about?” Your mom immediately asked upon you walking in.
You saw that your dad was next to her, Kie and the rest of the pogues at a table near you also looking at you. “So, I called you guys here to tell you something and I don’t want any of you to overreact, okay?” There was a chorus of agreements from your loved ones, “I called you guys here to tell you that I’m pregnant.”
You winced at the multiple gasps you heard, but you got reassuring looks from Sarah and JJ who was still holding on to your hand tight. “Before you get angry, JJ and I have decided to keep the baby and we want to raise it together.”
“Well, if you’re sure you want to keep it, then I’m not mad.” Your mom spoke first.
“I agree with your mom. Though, I need to have some words with JJ.” Your dad sent a pointed look his way, you knew it was all fun though. Your dad always had a soft spot for JJ given his home situation. He had been allowed to stay the night when it got really bad and you just knew your dad loved JJ as if he were his son.
“As long as I’m godfather, it’s cool,” came from Pope.
“Hey! No, it’s only fair that I am!” John B argued with him.
You turned toward Kiara, wanting approval from your big sister, “Kie, are you okay with this?”
She sighed, “Yeah, I’m honestly just in shock. Debating smashing JJ’s skull in, but I’m good,” But you knew she was joking because she had a huge smile on her face, “I can’t wait to be an aunt, though I’m a little disappointed you didn’t tell me sooner.”
“She only found out a few days ago,” Sarah jumped in.
“You knew before me?!” Kie was incredulous.
“Well, when she had a sleepover at my house earlier this week and was throwing up every ten minutes I was concerned so I asked her how long it had been going on. Then she told me her other symptoms so I got her a few tests,” Sarah shrugged.
Kie seems to accept it because she launches into another question, “How far along are you?”
“Well, we went and got an ultrasound today, and I’m six weeks along. I got some pictures too.” You hand the few strips of photos to your parents and the pogues to pass around.
“Ah! My first grandchild! I’m getting this framed!” Your mom exclaims with tears in her eyes.
“Aw Miss C, don’t cry! You’ll be the best grandma!” JJ wraps his arms around her making you smile.
Kie holds her arms out for a hug from you which you gladly accept, “I love you all so much. This baby is going to have the best family.”
The Baby Bump
Seven months into the pregnancy, you were ready for it to be over. Your bump was pretty big now, and your back constantly hurt. Though the morning sickness had ceased, you still got migraines, cravings, and you couldn’t sleep comfortably for the life of you. Even with JJ there, you struggled to get to sleep every night.
Now, you were putting on a bikini because the pogues were all going boating today. When you managed to get into your swimsuit, you looked in the mirror, feeling self-conscious. Your baby bump just made you feel fat. Pulling at the bottoms to try and cover your butt a little more, you frowned. You had definitely gained weight from this pregnancy.
Before you could dwell on it more, JJ came into your bedroom, donning his favorite swim trunks. He came up behind you, putting his hands on your waist and pressing kisses to your neck and jaw. “You. Look. So. Hot. Right. Now.” He said in between kissing your soft skin.
“Really baby? I feel disgusting.”
“No, you look so sexy. Knowing you’re carrying my baby is even better.” He nips at your skin making your breath catch in your throat.
You could feel his hard-on starting to poke your back, “Really babe? Now? We have to leave in 15 minutes.” Despite your words, your hand reaches up to tug at his hair.
He moans into your neck, “Guess we have to be quick then, yeah?”
Baby Shower
Even though you protested, your mom, sister, and Sarah had decided to throw you a baby shower. You were about 8 months along now and so ready to have your baby. You never found out the gender, wanting it to be a surprise.
Your gender-neutral themed shower, held at The Wreck, was a success. You ate good food and played some fun games. Your friends wished you congratulations, asking to feel the bump and making small talk.
Your favorite part was the gifts, though. Your mom and dad agreed it would be best for the two of you to stay with them, at least until after college, that way everyone could help with the baby while you were getting an education. God knows you have enough rooms.
Your mom was so excited about decorating the nursery, so you weren’t surprised when she bought you a matching crib and rocking chair for the baby’s room. Sarah bought you a very nice stroller and Kie got you a nice changing table that doubled as a dresser.
You received lots of diapers and wipes, so many cute clothes, bottles, a diaper bag, and a ton of cute toys.
You, Sarah, your mom, and Kiara were cleaning up from the party when JJ arrived. You were trying to clean up some of the trash but he immediately kissed you and said, “Woah, take it, easy princess. I got this, you sit down.”
You scoff, “JJ, I’m pregnant, not dying.” You still sit down, but reluctantly. He had been acting like this around you since you guys found out, even though you told him it was okay and you could actually do more than sit down. You appreciated the gesture, a lot, but it was a little over the top. Even for JJ.
“I know, babe. I just don’t want you to be stressed. I want the next month to go as smoothly as possible for you.”
You swear your heart melted, “I get it, J. Wanna see the new baby clothes? They’re so cute!”
“Sure do, baby,” He pulls a chair up and wraps an arm around your shoulders, kissing your forehead. “I love you and the baby so so much. I didn’t even think it was possible.
“I love you so so much, too. I can’t wait to have our baby.” You lean your head on his shoulder, showing him the new baby items from the shower.
Labor
When you couldn’t get to sleep because of a pain in your stomach, you thought nothing of it. This had happened multiple times before where the baby was kicking too hard for you to sleep. But, when the pains kept getting worse, JJ made you go to the hospital. Your mom, dad, sister, him, and you all scrambled to get dressed in the middle of the night. When you were pulling on a pair of his sweatpants, your water broke, so it was officially go time.
You all piled in the car with the baby bag that had been packed since the day of your shower. When you arrived, they brought you to a room in a wheelchair, immediately putting you on epidural.
When you were fully dilated, it was time to start pushing. JJ was the only one allowed in the room for this part. He held your hand and let you squeeze it for the whole 2 hours but it felt like 2 minutes.
You heard the first cries of your baby and JJ saying, “It’s a girl. Princess, we have a daughter.” He sounded choked up and when the doctor let you hold her, you started crying too.
“Stella Marie Maybank,” You said softly as you looked up at JJ. You had discussed names for both genders for a long time and you were in love with the ones you picked out.
JJ took Stella from your arms to hold her himself and he looked down at you with the biggest smile on his face, “Thank you.”
“For what?” You were confused by his words, wondering what he meant.
“For this beautiful baby. For sticking by me even when I didn’t deserve it. Thank you for giving me the family I always wanted. I love you.”
“I love you too, J. So much.”

Note
About your atla ship songs, I have a couple of questions (sorry if my phrasing comes out wrong, english isn't my first language and I worry it might across as accidentally defensive): how did you end up with the choices for zukka, jetko and yuekka (note: I haven't seen the great comet, so feel free to obsess over it, I'm intrigued now and the hype is appreciated!)? Sidenote: I think the mailee choice is HILARIOUS and the tokka one just make me sad, I didn't expect to be attacked like this😭
kdjfha;s i love you im gonna obsess SO HARD over great comet now. you may regret this
this is gonna be so long so the rest is under the cut whoops
yuekka: no one else from great comet
where do i even begin. WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN
okay so background information on this show: it's based off of a 76 oages excerpt from war and peace and its centered around a woman named natasha (and this guy pierre but he's irrelevant to this song so we wont worry about him) and natasha's bethrothed is off fighting in the war right now. she hasn't seen him in a while but she is in love with him.
every single lyrics of this song SCREAMS yuekka to me. the innocence and purity of their love. the love at first sight. and even the melancholy ending just- i go apeshit for this song. i love this song so much. and denee benton's voice??? kljsdhflwksugf please listen to this song if you haven't already. listen to the whole show. your life will be changed forever.
onto the lyrics (i stg this is ab to be the whole song whoops)
"the moon"
THOSE ARE THE FIRST WORDS ON THE SONG. natasha and andre (her bethrothed) met underneath the moonlight. Sokka and Yue first spoke to eachother at night and always met each other for their most intimate moments under the moonlight. also yue is LITERALLY the moon so like: right of the bat with those two words it's yuekka.
"and i saw your eyes / and i saw your smile / and the world opened wide"
sokka fell in love with yue the moment he saw her in the canal. she literally enchanted this motherfucker. everything about her made his heart go crazy. and 'the world opened wide' to me is from yue's perspective. Yue had never left the north pole and sokka had seen a good chuck of the world at the point. He took her on appa, he told her about his adventures. he saw the world yue wished to see and you know damn well that Sokka would have done anything to give it to her.
"oh the moon /oh the snow in the moonlight / and your childlike eyes and your distant smile / ill never be this happy again / you and i and no one else"
natasha sings fondly about the moon and the snow, seeing as it was where she fell in love with andre. yue and sokka LITERALLY fell in love in the same place: in the snowy nothern water tribe under the light of the moon. childlike eyes: THEYRE CHILDREN!!! distant smile: this is where it gets a little sad. theyre both children with way too many duties during a world that has known nothing but war for the past century. they want to be happy but yeah, theyre smiles are distant and far away because happiness seems out of reach for them most of the time. i'll never be this happy again: the moments yue and sokka shared together were probably the happiest either of them ever were. they were able to ignore the war and the world in the moments they shared together. and with no one else. no one else would be able to give each other this sense of peace and happiness and love.
"joy and life inside our souls / and no body knows just you and me / it's our secret"
Yue and Sokka had to sneak out in secret at night to go and see each other. Yue and Sokka couldn't be together for real because Yue was already engaged, but they were literally in love so she decided to see him anyways in secret. kasdjfhklasjd im losing my mind over them at this point.
"this winer sky / how can anyone sleep / there was never such a night before / i feel like putting my arms around my knees / and squeezing tight as possible / and flying away"
these are my FAVORITE lines in the entire song. yue and sokka had never felt this strongly about anyone before and that's why they are so drawn to each other. they had never experienced love before and they wanted to hold onto it for as long as they could even though they knew they couldnt. Sokka takes yue up on appa and she is wistful and wishes she could live like he does every day: ie flying away. oh my god these two deserved so much better. so much fucking better.
now for the saddes part. the saddest fucking part.
"maybe he'll come today / maybe he came already / and he's sitting in the drawing room / and i simply forgot"
natasha misses andre so intensely at this point. when i first listened to this show and heard this song i was like "wait a min... is andre like... dead?" and im sure i wasnt the only person who assumed that this was why natasha felt so sad by the end of such a beautiful song. (spoiler alert andre is fine)
but this line really exemplifies how sad natasha is, and hints at the fact that andre may never come back. it implies that their relationship is doomed (at least in my opinion) and that's all yuekka. Sokka misses yue intensely when shes gone. Yue accepted her fate almost immediately but sokka was in denial. he thought there had to be another way. but in the end it wasn't meant to be. and sokka will go on, loving yue, wishing for her back, even though it's not possible.
fuck im gonna cry.
zukka: all i've ever known- hadestown
"i was alone so long / i didn't even know that i was lonely / out in the cold so long / i didnt even know that i was cold"
sokka is from the swt so theres where the cold comes in. also in the gaang (initially) it was just him katara and aang. and katara and aang were much closer to each other than sokka was with aang and the two of them were benders so sokka was kind of an outsider with the two of them. He also represses a lot of his emotions and feels the need to do everything himself so i do see a lot of loneliness in sokka. and the fact that so many people in his life have left him (his mom, yue, his dad, suki briefly, etc...) he is known to keep people at an arms length. i see a lot of loneliness in sokka.
zuko's loneliness is a lot more obvious: he has literally been cast out and abandoned by everyone except iroh. and even then he still feels the need to be alone (remember zuko alone? thought so) these boys look after themselves and push others away and revel in their loneliness in order to keep themselves from getting hurt. at least in my opinion on canon and also some fanon because id be a liar if i said fanon didnt influence how i view ALL my ships (not just zukka)
"all ive ever known is how to hold my own / but now I wanna hold you too"
COME ONE MANNNN, they just wanna hold each other. theyre both very big protectors as well and kljhflkasdhg they wanna protect eachother like kljdhfl im gonna lose it rn.
"You take me in your arms / And suddenly there's sunlight all around me / Everything bright and warm / And shining like it never did before / And for a moment I forget / Just how dark and cold it gets"
SUNLIGHT SYMBOLISM. zuko is literally powered by the sun. i don't think i even NEED to elaborate on this one anymore lol. They find comfort in each other away from all of their trauma. when they're together nothing else matters and i personally love that for them. they both deserve love.
"I knew you before we met / And I don't even know you yet / All I know is your someone I have always known"
these two are extremely similar in canon. many parallels. older brothers overshadowed by their prodigy little sisters. longing to make their fathers proud (granted one dad is good and one is fuckin evil), both are pretty bad with emotions. both are seen protecting others before themselves (sokka protecting suki during the serpant's pass, sokka protecting toph on like multiple occassions, zuko protecting katara in the final agni kai), the list goes on. they know who the other is because they see themselves in the other person. they already know each other because they are each other (in a way, not entirely, but the similarities are strong in my opinion)
"I'm gonna hold you forever / The wind will never change on us / Long as we stay with each other / Then it will always be like this"
i just think this line is so cute and sweet (ignoring all the symbolism and foreshadowing that comes with the last line in the musical itself. im gonna pretend this is nothing but happy) and i think these boys deserve happiness so yeah. this song is zukka to me lol.
jetko: thrill of first love- falsettoes
if you've never listened to this song go an do it now. you will know INSTANTLY that it is jetko because of the dynamics alone. marvin and whizzer are pure jetko and i take no crticisms.
marvin and whizzer are both extremely stubborn, and they don't always get along, and they fight a lot, and they get mad at each other a lot, and they are both passionate as hell, and they will bring this passion into everything. they love each other that is without a doubt, but they arent perfect and they are once again stubborn and determined as fuck.
sound familiar? it's literally jetko.
the lyrics aren't what remind me of jetko, but the dynamic itself. the lyrics are too on the nose for a gay couple in 1970's america so that rlly cant apply to jetko all that much. but the way these two characters bounce off of each other and get annoyed with each other and argue with eachother reminds me of jetko. because let's be honest: these two are the most stubborn characters in the whole show. they will fight for what they believe and it will take literally everything to change their minds.
i love jetko but i think they would have petty arguments all the time and get aggravated by one another so easily. and this is even seen in canon: they work so fucking well together but they did not even HESITATE to fight one another after neither of them would give in and let the fight about whether jet was right or wrong about zuko being a firebender. like i cannot say it enough they are stubborn as fuck.
but underneath all that stubborn pettiness and bickering: marvin and whizzer still love each other. and jet and zuko would still love each other. because even though they are stubborn when it comes to arguments, they are even more stubborn and determined when it comes to each other. these two passionate motherfuckers are in love.
(now when i chose this song i decided to ignore the fact that this song literally spells out the fact that marvin and whizzer's relatinoship is doomed because they literally say passion dies. thats the difference between jetko and whizzer and marvin because i dont think passion dies. i chose this song strictly for the bickering lmao)
and i know you didnt ask about tokka but,,,,
i rlly wanna talk about the tokka one
so im going to
tokka: on my own- les mis
look. i KNOW this song is about unrequited love and i love tokka as a couple but,,, the unrequited love in this song just SCREAMS unrequited tokka to me so thats what i went with.
eponine is a girl who has neglectful parents who lives life by her own rules: toph. eponine is shown to be tough and confident and spunky to others but behind all of that she has emotions, she feels love, she hides her vulnerability so much: toph. she is in love with a guy she cant be with because he loves someone else: TOPH
eponine is toph to a t and toph is eponine to a t. this is not up for debate lmao
"without him i feel his arms around me"
toph is always seen grabbing onto someone (and its almost ALWAYS sokka) when she's somewhere where she can't use her feet to see. FEEL and ARMS cmon. look at it.
"and i know / i know that he is blind"
COME ON. IMAGINE TOPH SINGING THIS LINE. this line is already powerful enough in les mis but having toph, a blind character, sing it just makes the symbolism even deeper. toph sees the potential relationship they could have together. toph sees that sokka is oblivious to this. toph is not blind to the truth or the potention, but sokka is blind to her feelings. im about to lose my mind over this line.
"I love him / But every day I'm learning / All my life / I've only been pretending / Without me / His world will go on turning / A world that's full of happiness / That I have never known"
i need to sit down for a moment. toph grew up in a household where her parents did not understand her. she has learned to hide her true emotions and vulnerabilities from everyone. and its the fact that toph knows that she and sokka will never be together and the fact that she still loves him in spite of that is what makes this even more heartbreaking.
"but only on my own"
TOPH AND EPONINE SWEETIES I LOVE YOU
thank you for indulging my theatre kid nonsense. you are very sweet and kind and lovely and awesome and i hope you have a lovely day bestie :) <3
ask me why i think these songs go with these ships

For You? Always.
Chapter Seventeen
Summary: The next morning, and the first visit...
W/C: 3.5k
Warnings: insinuates intimacy
You were slowly wakened by the feeling of light kisses being pressed to your neck, your cheek then finally your lips. Without opening your eyes, you brought your hand to Ben’s cheek and felt as he smiled. When you opened your eyes to meet his, the smile grew as you brushed some of the loose hairs from his forehead.
“Good morning, darling,” he said in a voice deepened from sleep. Smiling, you scooted closer until you were pressed against his chest. Instead of feeling the contact through fabric, your skin met his, sending a new sense of comfort through you.
Ben put his arm around you to pull you just a little closer. He placed a kiss on your forehead before you heard whining from the other side of the door. You had forgotten to let the dogs into the room before going to sleep.
“I’ll take care of them,” Ben said after chuckling. He went to get up but you pulled him back in and kissed him. You wanted this moment to be drawn out just the slightest bit longer.
It did, but the whining from outside the door only worsened.
Ben sighed before removing himself from the warmth of you and the covers. Swiftly, he got a pair of pyjama pants and pulled them on before leaving the room.
After watching the door close behind him, you got up and put your own pyjamas on. You also picked up the clothing from last night off of the floor and neatly placed them on top of the dresser. Soon after, you joined the others in the living room.
Boga rushed straight to you when she ran back inside. Kneeling down, she placed her paws on your knee and frantically licked your face. A laugh escaped you while you were attempting to pet her. Soon, Cody joined the fray and gave his own welcome.
Enjoying the show, you heard Ben laugh at the love attack from the two dogs. He watched for a few more moments before helping the situation by signalling for them to come eat their food. It worked as their attention quickly shifted to him.
Standing up, you walked over to the kitchen to start coffee. Once he dealt with the food, Ben joined you in the kitchen. You turned to face him as you leaned against the counter.
Stepping up to you, he placed his hands at your waist and rested his forehead on yours when you wrapped your arms around his neck. Making eye contact with you, a small grin appeared on his lips.
“Thank you,” you said after a moment.
“For what? The situation with the dogs?” he asked.
Then he realised what you actually meant.
“Oh. Well, if anything I should be thanking you for trusting me,” he said with a softness that always calmed you.
Smiling, you added, “But you helped me break a prejudice that has haunted me for years. Also, you just made all of yesterday the most memorable day of my life.” His grin turned into his infectious smile that always made your day brighter.
“Then, if it is what you say, I’m glad I was a part of it, as it was also one of my top memorable days. The only one topping it being the day I met you in high school.” Shock filled you, as you questioned as to what was so memorable about. To your dismay, you didn’t remember when you had first met him.
“Oh really? What was so memorable about that? Don’t be mad, but I don’t remember it,” you admitted. He laughed.
“I didn’t really expect you to. It was when I first came to that school after we had moved from London-”
Quickly, you cut him off, “You never told me that you moved from London when you came to our school.” It did explain why his accent was more prominent during certain moments though.
“It’s because we had houses in each area. One here and one in London. I was mainly living here, but I made frequent trips to London. That’s why I just say that I grew up here and not London, because ninety percent of my life was spent here. Changing schools was caused by the fact that we moved from one side of town to the other,” he explained.
“Anyways, the day I met you was, I believe, the second or third day at the school. I had been walking to meet a teacher when I accidentally bumped into Mitchell Turner,” he said, turning from you to the coffee machine as the chime went off.
He continued as he made your cups of coffee, “He took major offence at the accidental contact. Without much hesitation, he started picking on me. Especially mocking my accent as I was stumbling over my words to apologize. Next thing I knew, I heard your voice cut through his mockery.”
“Back off Mitchell. What makes you think you can pick on someone who accidentally bumped into you in a tight hallway,” you muttered as you remembered that day you stood up to one of the Turners.
A smile grew on his face as you recited the words you used in his defence. He handed you your cup of coffee as you remembered what played out.
“I remember apologizing that you had to deal with him. Didn’t I help you find that classroom as well?” you asked. He slowly nodded while taking a sip from his mug.
Recalling that day, you felt horribly for not realising that it was him that you had helped.
Before you could say anything, Ben continued, “I know what you’re probably thinking, and you don’t have to feel bad. The only reason I remembered that was because that was the first encounter of that nature I had faced. At my other high school, I had been beaten up and no one stepped in. That’s why I moved schools half way through the first year.”
He paused a moment, remembering the day before adding, “That’s why I eventually found that cafe and went there every day. It was where I could guarantee that I could study and do homework without any confrontation.”
“Why didn’t you do it at home?”
“My mom’s job was a very demanding one. One that she seemed to be on the phone or have clients over almost the whole evening sometimes. She also had plenty of free time, but the calls and meetings were never always constant. So, to make sure I had a safe and calm place to do work, I learned to find one.”
Sadness and guilt crept up into your throat at hearing this. “Ben, I’m sorry.”
“For what? I at least had one person keeping me from getting beat up and I spent lots of quality time with my mom. Going to the cafe was just a constant in my life that I enjoyed,” he finished.
As he looked into your eyes, he saw tears of both sadness and happiness forming in your eyes. Placing his mug down, he stepped in front of you, wiping the tears from your eyes with the pads of his thumbs.
Pulling you into him, he hugged you tightly, “It’s okay. I wouldn’t be who I am today if it didn’t happen, if you hadn’t helped.”
Learning just how much you affected his life made your tears flow more. You couldn’t help but think how you may not have been where you were now, had you not stepped up. Scenarios flew through your mind as the thought that he may not have even seen this day surfaced the pool.
Leaning back and meeting his eyes again, you smiled while he cleared away the streams once again. His own smile, meant to comfort and brighten your mood, spread across his face.
“I love you here and now. What happened back then no longer troubles me. The only concerns I want to have now are whether you feel the same about me,” he said with a soft tone.
“I do. I love you more than words can describe.”
“Then that’s all that matters. Now come on, we should get ready and walk Cody and Boga before they go crazy.” Nodding, you took a sip of your coffee before heading to your room to change. After that, you would enjoy the rest of your day before Ben had to leave tomorrow.
- - -
It had been a work week since Ben had left for work. For the first couple of days, it was difficult. Ben was so busy that he was hardly able to have time to call you. Though, he had called you every night, it would have to only be once he was finally able to go back to his hotel room.
When things slightly settled, you would FaceTime him and let Boga and Cody say their own hello. Even though he was working, he would keep the call going.
Like in the days of the cafe, you would listen to his muttering as he worked. Many times, it actually helped you get through your own work when you had it.
Just having the call in the background was useful in his work too as he would ask for an occasional opinion or would listen to what you were doing. Often, you would have the soft music from the record player going as you read a book. Something he noticed was that you also had some mutterings as you read. If you had done that before, he never noticed.
So, it was like you were together, in a way. The only differences being that it was through a screen and you didn’t have each other’s warmth at night.
Now, you were walking off of the ramp of the plane. It didn’t take you long to spot Ben at the front of the visitors waiting to reunite with the passengers disembarking. Ben had his arms open to greet you in a warm hug when you almost knocked him over after you basically ran to him. You placed a kiss on his lips at the same time.
You hadn’t realized how much you missed the feel of his lips until this moment.
“I missed you so much,” he mumbled against your lips, hugging you even tighter.
“I missed you too,” you said, this time pulling away. His smile made his eyes glow bright with genuine happiness. You couldn’t help but crash yourself back into his arms, burying your face into his chest.
Twisting back and forth slightly, he pressed a lingering kiss to the top of your head. The two of you stayed like this for a few more moments, just enjoying the feeling of being held by the other.
After finally pulling away, he relieved you of your carry-on and offered his arm to lead you out of the airport. Looping your arm through his, you also leaned against him as you walked.
The car trip was very short as his hotel was close. Not only that, the airport was pretty much in the middle of the city anyway. You had leaned against Ben’s shoulder in the taxi, only exchanging a few words as you wanted to savour his comfort for the first moments.
The door to his room was far down the hallway. If you were to be asked exactly what side of the hotel you were on, you wouldn’t be able to tell. Partially because your sense of direction wasn’t the best, but you were also just so excited that you hadn’t paid attention.
Pushing the door open, Ben had exposed the room that had a perfect view of the city’s skyline. The rest of the room was a generic one, Ben’s papers spread across the provided desk. Like he always did everywhere else, the bed was made as if he didn’t use it, which he probably didn’t, and the only other belongings showing was his suitcase beside a chest of drawers.
Your attention was directed to Ben as he placed your bag beside his, then made his way straight to you. Enveloping you in his arms, he placed a kiss to your forehead.
Looking up, you met Ben’s eyes with a gentle smile. You brought a hand up and placed it against his cheek, a ticklish sensation running up your arm from the thicker stubble that he hadn’t trimmed. It helped define his jaw and made him look more handsome.
“Ben,” you said in a discontented tone and dropped your hand to his chest.
“What?”
“You need to sleep properly,” you replied as you gestured towards the made bed with your head.
He looked to the floor with a sheepish grin, “It’s a little too fixed up, isn’t it?”
Humming in agreement, you chuckled a little at his now red cheeks. Even though it was something so little, he was still embarrassed. He never wanted you to be concerned about his well-being.
“Promise me that the desk won’t be your bed every night once I leave.”
As he looked into your eyes, he nodded, “Okay. I promise.” He rested his head against yours and you both stayed like this for a sweet, quiet moment.
“So,” you began, breaking the silence, “now that I’m here, what’s the plan?”
“What do you want to do?” he came back.
Pressing your lips to his briefly, you answered, “Shall we go for dinner then have some personal time afterwards?”
A smile grew on Ben’s face that gave his answer. Kissing you once more, he parted away from you to get ready.
Once Ben was ready, you were almost astonished when he didn’t grab a dress coat. The dress shirt he wore was a simple white with the cuffs rolled up past his elbows and the top few buttons were undone. The light was accented by his black slacks outlined with black shoes and belt. His formal side was paired with a casual one and it suited him well.
Not only that, but he was a lot more attractive. His thicker facial hair seemed to highlight the cerulean blues.
“You know,” you said as you stepped up to him and slid your hands over his chest, “you look really handsome like this.”
“Is that so?” he replied with a quirked eyebrow, a cocky grin plastered on his face.
You nodded as you continued to run your hands over his chest.
Then he leaned closer, “Well, this red dress highlights your beauty.”
As you felt heat rise in your cheeks, he pulled you against him and kissed you. You couldn’t help but melt into it.
“Darling,” he mumbled against your lips. Pulling back slightly, you looked into his eyes. “We should probably eat something.”
Before you could protest, your stomach grumbled in hunger.
Chuckling, Ben said, “Looks like you’re in agreeance.”
At the restaurant in the hotel, Ben ordered a bottle of wine for the two of you. While sipping from the fine drink, you held each other’s hand over the small table. The two of you spent the time catching up on the events you didn’t have time for over calls.
Even though the calls were technically long, the time to actually catch up was almost none. So, you both took this time to just enjoy the other’s company. After this weekend, you didn’t know when you would be in each other’s company next.
After dinner, you went straight back to the room. You clung to his arm tightly while walking through the entire hotel. The smell of his cologne, that you had only been able to smell on his side of the bed since he left, comforted you along with his familiar warmth.
It may have not been too long since he left, but it didn’t make you miss him less. You weren’t the only one who missed him either. You were, however, the only one that could go and see him. And you were enjoying every second of having his physical warmth right beside you and actually feeling his breathing.
Ben unlocked the room door, letting you go in first.
“It’s strange not having Boga and Cody running us over,” you joked.
“It is. I have another couple of weeks until I get to be barreled over by them,” he laughed. He took you into his arms and slowly swayed with you to silent music.
You let out a sigh of contentment as you wrapped your arms around him, resting your head in the crook of his neck.
He let out a sigh when you pressed a kiss to his neck, “What would you like to do tonight?”
“Would you be able to read? I missed your voice.”
He smiled when he looked down into your eyes. “Of course, love.”
“But,” you said playfully as you went up to kiss underneath his jaw, “there may be something else before we do.”
Dragging your hands around then up his torso, you slowly started to undo the buttons of his shirt. Once again, he sighed in pleasure as you exposed his chest.
Untucking the shirt, you let it hang open and frame his torso as you splayed your fingers through his chest hair. Slowly, you brought your hands under his shirt and dragged them to his back. As you did, you could feel as his heart had picked up speed.
Finally, you felt as he moved his hands up your back to your zipper. As he brought it down with one hand, he let the other graze your skin just after, sending chills through you. This only increased as he also brushed your straps from your shoulders. In turn, you brought your hands up so that you could push his shirt off.
Looking into his eyes, you couldn’t hold back any longer. You crashed your lips to his. He seemed to meet you with the same ferocity as he easily brought your body against his. The feeling of his skin against yours heightened your desire.
“Shall we,” Ben started to say between kisses, “make a mess of this bed.” His tone was mischievous as he slowly backed you towards it.
In the moment, you said something that would turn out to be a test run, “Obi-Wan, please.”
With your hand on his back still, you could feel as he slightly tensed, but his eyes glinted with something new. Something you could only assume as admiration. Something that made every touch of his feel more intimate than a week ago.
By the time the back of your knees hit the edge of the bed, the remainder of both of your clothing was gone. Carefully, Ben helped you onto the bed and held himself over you.
“I love you, darling,” he said quietly, close to your lips.
“And I love you,” you paused. “Obi-Wan.”
He kissed you then.
-
After you both of your breathes calmed, you admired the sweat that seemed to make Ben glow. You loved it.
Then, you felt as he shifted. He had grabbed the book and his glasses that were on the bedside table. He must have done that before you even got here because he never did that while you were in the room.
Even though he wouldn’t read it on his own, he brought the book that you two were reading. He insisted on bringing it so that he could read to you over the phone. Unfortunately, he never had the time.
“Were you still wanting to read tonight?” he asked as he slipped his glasses on. You loved how he looked with his glasses on without a shirt.
Smiling up at him, you nodded.
Soon he had begun reading after wrapping his arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer.
Ben rested the book on his thigh to keep it open. You helped him flip through the pages as he swiftly read through them. When you did, he would place a kiss to the top of your head.
Having your head resting against his chest, you listened to the vibrations of his voice. Occasionally, you would focus on listening to his heart, missing some of the words.
After some time, you noticed Ben’s words started to slur before he yawned. When you looked up, his eyelids were struggling to stay open. He tried to fight it, but it was a losing battle.
“Go to sleep, my love,” you said as you slipped the book from his grip. He quickly complied. As you placed the book on the table, you turned back and took his glasses off of his sleeping face.
Carefully, you moved him so that he wouldn’t be sitting up. When you did, he was curled in a way that you easily wrapped yourself in the middle of it. He tightened his arm around you and pulled you in tighter before you let yourself drift off to the sound of his steady breathing.

Chapter 21
May 16. 21:05
“I don’t want to talk about this.” Robbe said for the millionth of time today even if he knew it wouldn’t mean anything, but he desperately said it again and again.
“Well, I want to talk about it so that’s what we’re going to do.” Robbe rolled his eyes and started walking towards the kitchen, already done with this argument.
He heard Sebastian’s footsteps following him and sighed.
The past few days have been very hard on him, he hasn’t heard anything from Sander and he knew, he wouldn’t, not until he made up his mind and told him what he wanted, but every time he’d get a notification, his heart would start hoping it was from him, only to get disappointed.
And he wanted to call him, or text him, or do anything that would mean being with him, choosing him, but he was terrified.
Sander was too good, too pure and somebody Robbe would never deserve no matter how much he tried. And he’s also not good with changes in his life.
What he has now, with Sebastian, it’s not great but it’s familiar, and it’s the best he can ask from life.
And Sebastian always reminds him of that too, so by now, Robbe is used to feeling thankful for what he has, and afraid to lose it. That’s mostly the reason why his countless break up missions failed. A lot of times, he didn’t have the guts to do it properly and other times, Sebastian made his mind turn upside down.
By now, he knew a cute date, or kisses or cuddles would only come after a very serious fight, not for any other occasion.
If they didn’t fight all the time, he’s sure, they would never touch each other.
He has no idea how they got here, since at first, everything seemed to be great, their relationship was amazing but now, Robbe could barely call it, whatever they had, a relationship.
“Don’t walk away from me.” The way Robbe was so exhausted from all this. He has no idea why he thought that coming here today would be a good idea. He probably wanted to check, for the last time.
Check if it was real, if Sebastian’s and his relationship was really that bad, but oh how much he regrets that decision now.
“How did you not tell me?” Robbe could hear on the which level of angry, Sebastian was getting by the tone of his voice and it seemed like the things would get ugly pretty soon.
“I didn’t know he’d be there and I told you why. He acted like he didn’t know me because Noor doesn’t know and what could I do? Say ‘no, we already know each other?’” It’s been already forty minutes since they started talking about this.
This, meaning Sebastian reading the messages between Sander and him which took place the next day after their accidentally meeting at the bar. Luckily, Robbe feared this would happen so he deleted the last messages between them but not all of it, so after Sebastian found out, quoting “he was that Sander and you said nothing?” there they were.
“As if I’d believe that. You tried to hide it from me and I just want to know why.”
This calm facade he had going on was even scarier than his yelling and Robbe knew, he wouldn’t leave it alone, no matter what he told him.
“I told you why I did it.”
“So you’re telling me there wasn’t any more reason?” Robbe looked at the clock, hoping that his mom or anybody else would call him so he could lie about something happening and go home, but of course, he didn’t have any luck and the universe hated him, his phone has been silent all day long, nobody needed him or wanted to help him out.
He knew Sebastian wouldn’t let him go out of his house right now, and not until he got what he wanted, or not until he got tired of fighting, and it wouldn’t happen anytime soon since he just started, he was only getting warmed up.
“No, as I said already, there isn’t any different reason.”
Sebastian rolled his eyes and scoffed at him.
“I know you’re fucking him.” Robbe gripped the cup he was holding, starting to get mad but he knew it was important to stay calm and stable.
“I’m not doing anything.” He can’t ever remember how many times he has already heard all this and how he already knew each word that would leave his mouth next.
“So you’re telling me, all those texting and meeting up, ignoring me, didn’t mean anything? How much of a fool do you think I am, huh? If you’re not hiding anything , then why don’t you want to tell me the truth?”
“I’m telling the truth.” The desperation in his voice was already visible. He wished to end this already, he wished to go home.
He wished to be with Sander.
“Can we stop now, please?”
Can we stop forever?
“No. I just know you’re lying. How many times should you hide it? Just please tell me the truth, I won’t get mad, I promise. I just want to know.”
It makes Robbe’s head spin when he does all those moods swings on him, makes him think that all of the problems are in his head.
Sebastian usually doesn’t say the word “please.”
“I’m telling the truth, please just, believe me okay? I don’t have anything with him, I already told you.”
No matter how much I want to have something with him, I don’t.
“It’s all his fault, he came in and messed up your head.”
Robbe thought that too, for a very long time.
But as time went on, he realized a lot of stuff. It wasn’t Sander destroying their relationship;
It was Robbe opening up about his crush on Jens to him and Sebastian getting freaked out when Robbe’d say that he’d go out with his friends, complaining to him how they would never get to hang out that much, making Robbe feel guilty and in the end, making him ditch his friends for him without even realizing it.
It was ironic laughter after telling him about what his mom has been talking about while she didn’t feel good, making him feel horrible about sharing that fact.
It was “not even your parents wanted you” after one of their first intense fight, which in the end got sorted out with two movie tickets and one pathetic apology.
It was creating a problem out of nothing.
It was making him feel like a horrible person after getting accepted in his dream university just because it was a little bit far away from where Sebastian was studying.
It was getting mad about every little detail that’d go wrong.
It was “sometimes I understand why you father left you.”
It was making fun of his studies and not giving him any chance to work.
It was laughing at him for still skating with his friends on his free time, telling him how he was acting like a toddler.
It was “you don’t deserve good things in life and when something good happens, you’re not even thankful.”
And then Sander happened, and Sebastian didn’t even need to find a reason to fight, it was already there. No matter what the argument would start about, it would always end with Sander.
At first, it wasn’t anything drastic.
It was Sebastian pressuring Robbe into telling him all about this new client he had, claiming he was just curious and wanted to know what his boyfriend was doing, making Robbe tell him about Sander and his file, which Sebastian read without his permission after finding out that it existed.
It was him asking Robbe uncomfortable and personal questions about Sander that he didn’t want to share, creating arguments from it, getting mad that Robbe wasn’t trusting him with this.
And when Sander ended the contract and they started meeting up, it was hell for Robbe. Sebastian would tell him everyday how he hated that they were seeing each other and how it wasn’t his “job” to take care of Sander anymore.
Robbe guesses that’s when he started to get more paranoid about Robbe and Sander meeting up, afraid that something more between them was going on.
One time Sebastian even went so far that Robbe didn’t talk to him for the whole week, already ready to end it all, only for Sebastian to feed him more lies, promise him it wouldn’t happen again, telling him that sometimes he just snaps and he just doesn’t want to lose Robbe: “it’s alright, you can have fun all you want, he will try to kill his self sooner or later again and will succeed in it and you won’t have to worry about him anymore.”
And Sander.
He’s everything and so much more Robbe could ask for, but he knows, he will only hurt him, he will never be enough and he can’t drag him in his shit.
Sander is too good, too amazing, too perfect. And he’s not being fair to him, he knows but he can’t help it.
When they are together, he feels calm, like nothing bad will happen and he feels happy to finally talk to somebody who just understands him, knows what he’s feeling, knows who he is and what he wants. He almost texted him four times, but didn’t know what to say.
I’m yours, have me.
I’m only happy when I’m with you.
Will you take me as I am?
Please forgive me for everything, I can’t seem to stop hurting you and it’s killing me, but staying away also hurts, I don’t know what I want but I know I want you.
“No, it wasn’t his fault.” Robbe whispered, hoping that the other boy didn’t hear him but it was too late.
“What did you say? Are you defending him?”
“No, I’m just saying that we already had some problems.” With a sudden rush of confidence, he dared to say it and look him in the eyes.
There was something that run on Sebastian’s face for a second but Robbe couldn’t figure out what it meant.
“Problems? What are you saying?” He took a step and Robbe wished he wasn’t leaning on the counter so he could take a step back.
Next, he felt his hands on his cheeks, his face close, making him obligated to look up. “Hey, I know I sometimes can be aggressive and maybe even raise my voice but you know that I love you so much right? And they don’t mean anything, I just lost control. I know I shouldn’t but it’s who I am. I’m sorry, okay? It’s me who you should be with and only me.” Robbe could hear the hidden meaning behind his words now, for the first time in ever, he just heard it instead of realizing it later. “It’s me who you deserve.”
He got sick feeling down in his stomach and his mind filled with how much he wanted to be with his favorite person in this world, right now, he spoke up: “I want to break up.”
“What?” Robbe took his hands in his own and put them away from his face, took a step so he was out of the way and put some distance between them.
He cleared his throat, took a breath and repeated.
And just as he expected, the storm came crushing down, the flames went out and he had to close his eyes and wince from the howl he heard coming from the boy in front of him.
“For him? You want to break up with me for him?”
“N-n-no. I just want it for myself.” How he wished his phone to call right now.
“For yourself? Are you even listening to yourself?”
Robbe was and he was surprised and terrified.
“I want to go.” Robbe mumbled and tried to walk pass him but got held by a hand on his way out.
“Didn’t I tell you not to walk away from me?”
That tone still sent shivers all over his body in a very bad and unpleasant way and he wanted to say “I’m not afraid of your voice anymore” but he couldn’t, since he was afraid and both of them knew that.
And it’s not like he’s afraid of anything really, it’s not like Sebastian has ever touched him physically, but Robbe hated this aura around them when he gets mad so he always tried to make him win arguments so he won’t lose control, so he won’t yell, so they would act like they we’re happy.
And somehow Robbe being tired of arguments and making Sebastian win and agreeing with him, turned into all of their conversations ending with Robbe saying yes to whatever Sebastian wanted just so they wouldn’t have any more problems than they already did and Robbe has no idea how only Sander could make him realize that.
He probably knew, deep down knew how wrong it was but hoped it was a lie, hoped that this relationship could work out in the end but it never did and it never will. Specially not now, when Robbe finally saw that he wasn’t worth it, that Sander was willing to show him how special he was and no matter how crazy and unreal it sounded, he wanted to give it a shot. He just wanted to get out of here.
“I don’t want to be with you, why can’t you understand that?” He tried to make him let go of his hand but didn’t have any success.
“I want to know the reason.” Sebastian raised his voice and finally Robbe had enough and he screamed too.
“Because I don’t love you.” The boy still didn’t back off.
“You love him don’t you?” He pronounced the word “him” with so much hate that it was all it took for Robbe to burst out and yell out “yes” on top of his lungs which made the boy lose his grip on him and Robbe took the chance to start walking away. Only for Sebastian to go after him.
“I knew it. All those times you were with him, of course, and you’re making me seem like I’m the responsible for this. How many times have you slept with him then?”
He has been following him around when Robbe went back to the living room, looking for his phone and taking it in his hand, then going back to the hallway to take his jacket.
“Where do you think you’re going? You’re not going anywhere, I’m not done yet.”
He caught up with him and was about to grip his arm again to make him stop that
Robbe spun around, his fingers on the door handle.
“I’m done.” Looked him up and down for the last time, opened the door and walked out.
He could hear horrible screaming from the house, a few of them being a very loud “fine, go, see if I care,” “yeah go to him, he will get bored of you too eventually,” “if you think that you deserve any bit of a happiness you’re wrong,” “fuck you” and of course “go fuck yourself.”
As soon as he was outside, he ran.
Not daring to look back, afraid that he’d still follow him, watch his every move, control him.
And he ran until his legs couldn’t handle anymore, until his knees started shaking and when he finally thought that he was free, he fell.
Trying to calm down, trying to realize what he did and trying to see that he did the right thing. And when it was obvious that he couldn’t relax or calm down, he reached out to the person he needed the most right now.
He couldn’t see straight, the whole screen was blurry when he turn on his phone and tried to text him. Fortunately, Sander responded quickly.
And when Robbe saw his message, he breathed out.
May 16. 23:49
Sander didn’t know what to expect when he got to the address Robbe sent him, but finding the brunet on his knees, in the middle of the street, breathless with his head in his hands, rocking front to back, definitely wasn’t it.
He got scared as soon as he caught the glimpse of him, stopped the car, but didn’t care enough to turn it off, the light coming from the car lighting the whole street and road. There was nobody in sight, just Robbe, paralyzed and numb from this world, who didn’t even notice Sander got there.
When Robbe sent that he didn’t know where he was but he’d send the address using his map, Sander got more worried and he wasn’t able to breath normally until he saw him, but now, looking at him when he finally got here, he knew he wouldn’t be able to calm down anyways.
He run to him, didn’t even care to close the door, kneeled down next to him, getting his trousers dirty.
He didn’t know if he should touch him, or what to say, what to do.
“Robbe.” He whispered but when he realized that the boy didn’t hear him, he repeated himself.
Robbe looked up to him so fast, Sander heard his neck crack, looking at him like he was imagining, hallucinating Sander there, didn’t say anything to him.
It was dark but Sander’s car light was helping him to see how wet Robbe’s eyes and cheeks were and he could hear how hard it was for him to take a breath.
“Hey, I don’t know what to do.” Sander mumbled, trying to catch his attention so he’d focus on him.
“Tell me what to do.” He could see Robbe processing his words and after a while of silence, he whispered something, looking away from him, staring at the darkness around them.
“I couldn’t hear what you said. Can you repeat it for me?” He tried to act like him, think about what Robbe’d do or say if the situation was reversed.
When Robbe still stayed silent, Sander decided that he had to take matters into his hands now.
“Come on, Robbe.” He got close to him, their legs touching each other.
“Tell me what to do. I want to help but I have no idea how. Just tell me.”
“C-can you just - “ Robbe started.
“Yeah, tell me. Use your words, angel.”
He felt a horrible feeling down to his stomach while looking at him like this, unable to do anything, unable to take his pain away.
“Just stay with me.” He finally mumbled and Sander nodded his head, his heart melting.
“I’m not going anywhere.” Sander could see that Robbe wanted to say more but didn’t, something was holding him back.
“What do you want? What do you need?”
The boy was still hesitant, but after a while he shook his head and started talking.
“I want you to hold me.” He became quiet but then looked at him in the eyes.
“I need you to hold me, please just hold me close.”
Hold me close and never let me go.
And Sander wasted no time, he put his arms around him and made him turn around, put him in his arms, against his chest. And when he felt soft and cold hands, gripping his shirt, he smiled weakly, sadly.
And then the tears came. Robbe started weeping and all Sander could do was to tight his embrace around him, and whisper “I’m here” all over again in his ear.
And they stayed like this for a long time, with Sander touching his back up and down, putting him closer and closer and Robbe clinging to him like his life depended on it, and maybe it really did. A few cars passed by but they didn’t care. The cars had to go all the way around them and Sander’s open car doo so they wouldn’t hit them but neither of them moved a muscle.
And when Robbe finally calmed down, Sander dared to ask “Did something horrible happen?” with his lips in his hair, his legs and hands all around him.
Robbe looked up to him, their faces so close to each other and whispered “No, something good happened” and after seeing Sander’s confused face, he added “I’m just overwhelmed, and happy you’re here.”
“I’m here and I plan to stay with you. How are you feeling?”
“Like shit.” He chuckled humorously.
“Alright. That’s okay. Can you stand?” Robbe nodded his head and Sander helped him up on his feet, took his hand.
“Let’s go.” Robbe looked up at him weirdly.
“Where?”
“You can’t possibly think I’m leaving you alone right now. Come.” Took his hand and made him walk over to the car, helping him, not letting go for even a second, sat him down on the passenger seat and even put the belt on him, then walked over to the other side and started the car.
For the whole ride he hasn’t taken his eyes off of him, would throw glances at him, checking how he was doing, while Robbe looked out of the window, didn’t let Sander see his whole face but would look at him from time to time and smile to his self sadly, his cheeks still wet, hair messed up, clothes muddy, but to Sander, he still looked the prettiest person he has ever seen. “Where are we going?” He asked after a while.
“To mine.”
Where you belong.
May 17. 01:37
Robbe already knew that Sander lived alone but he was more than grateful for that fact right now. He texted his mom that he wouldn’t be able to see her tonight. He hasn’t even tried to refuse when Sander said he was taking him with him, to his house since all he really wanted to do was to be with him.
It was the first time he came to his home and the way the whole place just screamed “Sander” was so crazy. The walls were even done in black and white or had massive paintings all over them, a lot of posters on them and the paint smudges were visible on the couches.
He made a hot tea for Robbe and gave him some clothes to change into, which he did. They were huge on them, specially the T-shirt. And he hasn’t missed the way Sander looked him up and down when he walked out, but of course, didn’t say anything. He also hasn’t asked any questions about what happened, he was waiting for Robbe to speak up when he was ready.
They were sitting in front of each other, drinking their tea silently.
“So ... “ Sander started, looking at him.
“I broke up with Sebastian.” Robbe said and watched how he caught Sander off guard. He stayed quiet for a while, saying “oh” after a while.
“That’s all you have to say?”
“What do you want me to say?”
“He’s my friend’s distant cousin and we - “ Robbe started but Sander interupped him.
“You don’t have to.”
Robbe shook his head. “No, no. You deserve to know. I want you to know.”
And after Sander mumbled a soft “okay” and nodded his head, Robbe started.
“You were right. I knew you were right but I was hoping that it would all go back to how it was before, our relationship, you know? But obviously it got worse and worse. It’s been going around like that for months but it got unbearable in the past few weeks.”
“When we met?” Robbe looked down.
“Yeah.”
“So it was mostly my fault then? I ruined your relationship?”
“No, no. It’s not true. You just opened my eyes. It was already ruined. Honestly, the whole thing was doomed before it even started, I was just too blind to see it.”
“It’s over now?”
“Yeah.”
He saw how Sander tried to hide his small smile and smiled himself and started to continue speaking.
“I wish it didn’t get to this and I know I should have listened to you. Even my friends didn’t like him and my mom but I didn’t listen to anybody. I guess I was so happy that I finally came out of the closet and I could be with a boy, fully open, that I didn’t notice all this toxic traits he had, or I just didn’t want to notice it. And I really wanted to just have a normal relationship and I also thought that I didn’t deserve something better than what I had and I - “
“You deserve the world, Robbe, and don’t let anybody make you believe that you don’t.” Sander stopped him to say this which made Robbe blush, ducked his head down. “You can tell me the rest tomorrow or whenever you want.” Robbe could feel that Sander was already looking at his face, but didn’t dare to look up. “You two are over and that’s what matters the most.” And after a while, he added a quiet “I missed you.” Robbe hated how far they away were sitting from each other.
Not waiting for a response, he bent over a little bit and saw that Robbe finished drinking his tea. He asked him before, when they got here, if he wanted to eat something but Robbe refused, only wanted to have a hot drink.
“I think it’s better for you to get some rest now.” He stood up and Robbe followed him when he started walking, trying to calm down his racing thoughts and heartbeat.
Following Sander, he took him to the hallway towards his room which Robbe already saw when he changed his clothes. The room that looked more like Sander than even Sander did.
The room that Robbe instantly fell in love with as soon as he laid his eyes on it.
Sander turned back towards him. “You take the bed and I will sleep on the couch, I’m gonna change the sheets for you.” As soon as the word left his mouth, Robbe’s mood and heart dropped.
“N-no it won’t be necessary. You don’t have to change them.”
I want to feel and smell your aura.
“You sure?”
Robbe nodded his head, he was more than sure about that.
“Okay then.” He walked Robbe to his room and stopped by the door and looked at him while Robbe was still standing there, hesitating to go in, looking at the door intensely like it did something to offend him.
“Sander.” He whispered, his voice already on the edge of breaking, didn’t dare to look at him.
“I’m here, I’m listening.” The way his voice was so soft, so gentle, afraid of what Robbe was about to say and honestly, Robbe was afraid of that too but decided to go for it, decided that bottling stuff up wasn’t the way to lives anymore, decided to say what he wanted.
“Can you stay with me?” He whispered so quietly that he barely heard his own self but when Sander’s expression changed as soon as he heard those words, he knew, Sander heard it too.
“Robbe.” He started, the tone of his voice careful, rethinking what to say.
“No, please. Can you lay with me?” His voice broke at the very end, couldn’t control his self.
Sander sighed and looked away, making Robbe’s stomach drop on the floor.
“Robbe, I don’t think that’s a good idea right now.” He said softly, afraid of what reaction the boy would have.
Robbe nodded his head, his eyes getting wet but didn’t dare to show it.
“Yeah, okay. You’re right.” He said and walked in the room without looking back.
But he managed to hear Sander’s weak whisper. “In another universe, I’d stay.”
May 17. 03:03
Sander couldn’t sleep, he tried but he couldn’t so he gave up. He knew he’d have to stay up for the whole night. His mind going wild, coming up with new scenarios and scenarios, didn’t know how he should feel. He was happy that Robbe ended things with this jerk, but he was also sad about what kind of situation he had to see Robbe just a few hours ago.
He was devastated about how much that horrible boy messed him up, how many lies he fed him, made him believe that he wasn’t worthy of anything good in life. He has no idea what happened between them but it must have been so bad that Robbe decided to end things with him for real this time after so many failed tries. He also couldn’t think nor sleep because he knew, Robbe was here, in his house, in his room, just a few feet away from him and he has never felt more close and far away from him at the same time.
The past week has been one of the hardest he has ever had to go through. He thought that he lost Robbe for good when his phone stayed silent for days. He even consider texting him again, telling him that it was okay if he didn’t want anything to do with him, beg him to come back to him and he’d take all the pain, all the torture, just to see him again, just to be close to him again, he didn’t care about anything else now, but the part of his self which was already hurting and didn’t need any more pain won, he stayed selfish and hope that it would make Robbe realize the truth and it kind of worked. He’d see how Robbe was active on the Instagram, check his profile again and again, trying to fill the voice inside him by doing this but it was doing the worst.
Noor tried to take his mind away and made him have fun but it didn’t work, nothing could get him to stop thinking about the boy who was sleeping on his bed right now.
He didn’t know what to feel when he saw that Robbe texted him, happiness at first, doubt next, and when he found that he wasn’t well, worry. The anxiousness creeping inside him, unable to let him go.
And after seeing him like this, he’s sure, the part of him died but he felt closer than ever to him, saw that he needed help too. And maybe, just maybe, they could heal and help each other together.
He didn’t even know what time it was but he was still wide awake when he heard footsteps.
Robbe walked slowly, probably afraid of waking Sander up and he gasped a little bit when Sander asked “can’t sleep?”
“No.” Robbe walked up to him, Sander could feel. And when he felt the weight press down on the couch, his heart started beating fast.
“W-what? What are you doing?” He asked nervously but stayed quiet when he felt Robbe laid down next to him, touching him on every part of his body.
For a long time, both of them were quiet until Robbe spoke up, hot air coming out of his mouth, touching pleasantly on Sander’s skin, creating goosebumps all over him.
“I don’t want to be alone. I can’t.” And he put his arms around him, put his head on his chest, entwining their legs together. Sander was sure he stopped breathing, couldn’t move, still processing what was happening.
“Please, don’t let me be alone.” And as if these words had some kind of trigger and effect on Sander, he tighten his grip on him, pulling him close, kissing his forehead.
“Never.” He could feel Robbe’s breathing on his chest, slow and steady but still fast somehow.
“Never again.”
May 17. 10:21
As soon as Robbe woke up, he was met with the fresh smell of breakfast which was served right next to the coffee table, by the couch they slept on last night. His eyes went wide, and he looked around.
He saw Sander sitting on the other side of the couch, with a sketch book in his hands, on his lap. He looked up when he saw Robbe moved his head up and smiled at him. “Good morning, beautiful boy.”
“I-is this for me?” He asked.
“What?” And when he saw how Robbe was staring at the food, he realized.
“Oh, breakfast? Of course. I hope you will like it. I’m not the best chef but I try.” And he gave him the most amazing and cheeky smile Robbe has even seen, showing off his dimples.
“You made it for me?” He still couldn’t hide his surprise and amazement and Sander noticed too.
“Yeah?” He said as if he was saying the word “duh” and Robbe felt a weird sensation about how this was not a big deal to Sander at all.
“Why?”
Sander looked at him like he was dumb.
“So you could eat? What kind of questions do you have?” Robbe looked at the food again, sitting on the table and he felt so much happiness radiating on his body.
Sander made the breakfast for him, while he was asleep so he could eat as soon as he woke up.
Nobody has even made him breakfast.
He was sure he’d cry if he was alone just because of this.
“Did you eat already?” He asked.
“No, I wanted to wait so we could eat together.”
Robbe is sure, whatever he was feeling must have been his heart, melting away.
They started eating together but the peace didn’t last long when Robbe accidentally dropped his fork on the ground.
His eyes went wide. “Shit, shit. I’m so sorry. I swear I will clean up, wait.” and he stand up and started pacing around.
Sander looking at his panic like he grown a second head.
“Hey, it’s okay. Relax. It’s nothing.”
“No, I made a mess, I can’t do anything right, I’m sorry, I will - “ but he was stopped when Sander put his hands on his cheeks, made him stop and look him in the eyes.
“It’s fine, Robbe. It’s nothing. You didn’t do anything.”
It took a little more convincing but in the end, Sander managed to calm him down and make him realize over what he was getting anxious about. And they finished their breakfast calmly after that, until Sander saw something on Robbe’s wrist that made his jaw clenched, but he tried to control his self.
“Can I see your hand?” Robbe looked at him confusingly.
“My hand?” He looked down and his eyes went wide, seeing a few purple and yellow bruises on his wrist.
Sander didn’t wait for a response and took his hand in his own slowly and softly, observing it.
“Did he - “ he started but didn’t finish, it was already obvious and it got confirmed when Robbe stayed quiet.
“I’m gonna kill him.” He growled.
“It’s alright. He must have put a little too force on it when I tried to walk away.”
“No, it’s not alright. Has he ever done something like this before?” He asked and Robbe shook his head.
“No, he never used - yeah, he hasn’t.”
What Sander did next was so unexpected, he took his hand close to his face and kissed his bruises. Robbe swallowed. And when Sander put it down, he gave him a look that Robbe couldn’t quite understand, a look filled with something so pure and unique, his legs started shaking.
“Robbe.”
“Hm?”
“Did you really mean that?”
“Mean what?”
“That you want to be with me?”
“I mean it but “ Sander’s expression totally changed at the last word.
“But?”
“I don’t think I’m ready to be with somebody right now.” Sander breathed out, relived and smiled at him.
“I will wait for you, no matter how long it will take. Didn’t I tell you that you’d be worth the wait? Just tell me that it will happen in the end.” He took a step closer to him, looked deep into Robbe’s eyes. “Just tell me that we will happen.” Robbe got lost in his eyes, forgot to answer, forgot to think, forgot to breath.
“We’ll happen.”
Sander smiled at him. “Then you have nothing to worry about. I’m here and I will always be here alright?”
Robbe couldn’t help but ask with a shaky voice. “You promise?”
“I do. I promise and you know how much I hate breaking promises.”
A special and huge thanks goes out to @cleocc for helping me plan this chapter and talking to me about it.

This isn’t Like Her
Hello, people!
This is my first attempt at writing a Spencer Reid fanfic. I wrote this because I love his character so much and wish he had more than his mom for blood related family on the show. (Criminal Minds) This story is about Spencer Reid and what it would be like if he had a little sister to take care of. It may not be entirely on point for his character, so please, be constructive with the criticism.
TW: This story mentions the use of alcohol, and homophobia.
Here goes and I hope everyone likes it
Sydney drags her feet up the stairs, holding her paper in one hand, her bag draped over the other shoulder, letting it fall to the inside of her elbow. She stops at the top of the stairs, looks down at the taunting, red ink at the top right corner of her English literature paper. “How am I going to tell Spencer about this F? He’s already so worried about me,” she whispers, defeated.
Sydney unlocks the door, crumples the paper, chucks it at the floor, and lets her bag slowly fall onto the chair at the kitchen table. She grabs a glass and opens the fridge to grab the unsweetened iced tea. After pouring a glass she walks to her room and feels her back pocket buzz. It’s her older brother, Spencer Reid, who she felt was almost never home because of his role in the FBI. He’s a Special Agent with the Behavioral Analysis Unit. She hates and loves that he could always figure out how she felt by just watching her facial expression, her body language.
A text lights up her screen. “Make sure to get some dinner, Syd. I won’t be home until late. I love you.”
“I will. I love you too, Spencer.” she texts back.
The mention of food always makes Sydney want to exercise, so she changes into her best, expensive Adidas gym shorts that she begged Spencer for when they were school shopping, hoodie, running shoes, and puts her AirPods in as she walks out the door. She plays some Cardi B as she runs to her favorite fountain in the park. She stops at the fountain and cups her hands, filling them with cold water. She brings her water-filled hands to her face and lets the water fall back into the fountain. She takes out her AirPods to enjoy the sound of the water flowing behind her and watches how the moon makes it shimmer as it pours down into the base of the fountain. A little girl walks over and throws a penny into the water. “One day, I want to be a baker and make millions,” and though Sydney feels it was a tad on the unrealistic side, she glances over at the girl. “If you really want to, you will.” Says Sydney. She loves to lift people up, especially little children.
“Yo, Syd!” she hears from across the park.  It was the friends she hadn’t seen for over a week. They came running over. “We all goin’ to my apartment ta hang out, ya down?” says her friend Ramona, obnoxiously chewing her gum, almost accidentally letting it fall out of her mouth. “Get this. I have an apartment now, no adults.” She winks.
Any other day Sydney would hit her friends with rational excuses not to go, but today, she needed to take her mind off the secret she was keeping from her brother. Sydney followed her friends to the car, and they cranked up the music.
*******************************************************************************************
The keys jingle behind the door, the knob turns, and Spencer walks in. He walks to the table, stepping on the crumpled paper. He picks it up and opens it to find a big F on the corner. He’s confused because his sister always felt comfortable coming to him for things like essay help. Usually if she had homework questions, they would talk them out so she could understand them better. Spencer didn’t get mad at Sydney over grades, as he knew everyone was on their own level with academics. He was just concerned as she had always gotten A’s and it bothers her when she gets any grade lower than an A-. He started to read the paper and the title told him everything “Why Bullying is just Absolutely Stupid.” This also comes as a shock to him, as his little sister was so popular and never had trouble with bullies before.
He couldn’t believe what he was reading. He knew that being 16 changed things for her, but he didn’t think it was anything like that. He grabbed her bag off the chair and carried it to her room, opening the door to quietly put her bag next to her bureau. He loved to walk in and give her a kiss on the forehead as she slept every night. She wasn’t there. Her bed was still perfectly made and the clothes she had worn before changing were on the bed. He whips out his phone and calls J. J.
“Spence, I just got home. What’s up?”
“J. J, I’m sorry, but listen, Syd is missing. She's not in her bed.”
“That’s not like her, I'll call Morgan and we’ll go check out the park we go for runs in. Oh, and Spence?”
“Yeah?”
“Take some deep breaths. We’ll find her, okay?”
***************************************************************************************************
“God, I’m so tired. What would Syd be doing out this late?” says J.J.
“I don’t know J.J, but whatever is bothering this girl has got Reid chewing his fingernails down to nothin’.” Says Morgan looking around.
J.J may not be a daughter mom, but she knows that Reid, even with an IQ of 187, is clueless about girls sometimes. Even though Reid knows her better than herself at times. She takes out her phone and dials Sydney’s number, it’s ringing, and she hangs up. There she was. Sydney. She was stumbling, weak. Which J.J could only assume meant she was drunk or drugged. She runs over to Sydney and catches her before she falls on the ground.
“Sydney Reid! Are you drunk?”
“No,” she scoffs, blowing in J. J’s face. J.J and Morgan look at Sydney, then each other.
“Liar, I can smell the alcohol from here now let’s go.” says Morgan picking her up into his arms.
On the way to the apartment, J.J calls Reid. “J.J! Did you find her? Is she okay?”
J.J looks over at Morgan “You can’t tell Spencer, he’s gonna be so mad at me. Please!” says Sydney crying into Morgan's shoulder.
 “Syd, he probably just heard you,” Morgan whispers to Sydney.
“What? Don’t tell Spencer what?”
“Spence let’s just say, whatever lecture you have planned might have to wait. We’re almost up the stairs. OK. Bye.”
The door opens and Reid walks out to grab his sister. “Morgan, J.J, thank you so much I will pay you back somehow. I’ll buy drinks after the next case.” Says Reid, taking his sister from Morgan.
“Reid don’t worry about it. I hope everything turns out okay.” Replies Morgan, grabbing Reid’s shoulder.
Reid waves bye to J.J and Morgan and closes the door. He brings his sister to bed and covers her up. “I will be right back,” Reid says, walking into the kitchen. He opens the cupboard and gets a cup of water for his little sister. “We’re going to have to talk about this tomorrow morning, Syd. What you did was dangerous.  You could have gotten grabbed walking around drunk like that. Good night.” He turns off her light and closes the door.
Reid walks over to the couch and sits down with a loud sigh. He opens the drawer in the table next to him and pulls out a photo book, cutely labeled ‘Spencer & Syd’s Magical Memories’. Spencer smiles and opens the front cover to find a selfie from when he let Sydney buy her first iPod with money that she spent a whole summer earning. He remembered the moment right before that. A very important conversation that he knew would be important for how she viewed becoming a woman. Spencer takes a drink of his tea and admires the smile on his baby sister’s face.
“Spencie, can I talk to you for a minute? It’s important and I need for you to not freak out.” Sydney said, as she climbed up onto the stool at the end of the counter, where Spencer had been making a PB&J sandwich for his little sister.
“Syd Everyday I see multiple mutilated bodies. What could you possibly say that would freak me out?” Replied Spencer, looking at Sydney now giving her his undivided attention.
“I um… Think my first period started today and I am a little freaked out.”
“Wow, I can’t believe it… You’re growing up so fast.  It is completely normal to start menstruation at your age. I was aware this day would come soon, but I can’t believe it. I’ll be right back.” Spencer said as he walked quickly out of the kitchen. He returned with a bag of pads and tampons, layed the packages out on the couch, and gestured for Sydney to walk over to the couch. “I am going to put these under the bathroom sink and they will be there whenever you need one. When you go to school on your period it would be a good idea to take a couple along just in case.”
“I feel awkward asking this but-”
“I know it can’t be easy not having a woman here to talk to, but I’ll tell you what. I will talk to J.J and see if she feels comfortable coming to talk to you about everything hygiene related. Would that be something you would be interested in?”
“Yes! I’m sorry I feel so awkward talking to you. -”
“No, no! Don’t feel bad. I think it’s safe to say some conversations are most comfortably had between girls.”
“What do I do about my bloody underwear?” Sydney said, staring awkwardly at her foot moving back and forth on the carpet.
“Right… that. Um…Let’s see. Let’s try putting them in the washer and running it on cold. That should do the trick.”
“Okay, I’m gonna go take care of this… I’ll put the underwear in the washer.” Sydney grabbed a pad from the bag and ran to the bathroom door. “Thank you for being so chill about this, Spencie! You’re the best big brother a girl could have!” She shut the bathroom door to do her thing.
“I’m glad I could help you out, Kiddo!” Spencer replied, as he stood proud that his sister felt comfortable telling him one of the most important moments in a girl's life.
“Spencer. Spencer. SPENCER!” Spencer jumps off the couch realizing his sister was probably calling his name for the last 5 minutes. He tosses the photo album on the couch and runs to Sydney’s room.
“Sydney, what’s wrong? Does your head hurt? Do you feel sick?” Spencer says sitting on the edge of her bed, running his fingers through her wavy brown hair.
“Both. Oh my god I wanna die!” Replies Sydney grabbing Spencer’s hand with her right hand and holding her forehead with the other.
“Did you eat anything last night before you went for a run?”
Sydney knew if she lied, Spencer would know. He did, after all, study human behavior for a living. Nonetheless, she lied anyway.
“Yeah, yeah. I had a um… A PB&J…Oh god. I’m gonna puke.”
“Oh. Let’s get you to the bathroom.” Says Spencer, taking his sister onto his back and carrying her out of her bedroom, into her bathroom.
Spencer sets her on the floor next to the toilet and walks out of the bathroom to grab another glass of water. He grabs his phone to see if he has any more texts on his phone. He sees a text from the Technical Analyst at the BAU, Penelope Garcia, whom everyone calls Garcia.
 Garcia: Reid, please call me ASAP!
Spencer dials Garcia’s number and pushes talk, waiting for her to answer. Not one ring in Garcia picks up the phone.
Garcia: Oh my god, Reid! Morgan told me what happened. Is my sweet, sweet Sydney okay? How bad did the alcohol hit her? Is she sick? I can stay with her for the next case. I’ll ask Hotch if I can work from your apartment and make sure she is well fed and well rested. -
Spencer: Garcia… That’s really nice of you to offer but that would be way too much to ask of someone. I can just tell Hotch that I need to stay home with my sister. Really, it’s…it’s okay.
Garcia: Reid, no! You don’t have to figure this out alone. You’re young and you’re raising a teenager. A teen! She is half your age! C’mon I wanna help you. Maybe have a heart to heart with her. Has she talked to you yet?
Spencer: She’s… She’s been so distant lately. She’s always been so close to me, ya know? She never kept anything from me until just recently and I wanna know what I did wrong.
Garcia: Reid! You didn’t do anything, my boy genius! She’s sixteen. It could just be a boy! Oooh any new boys in her life lately?
Spencer: I highly doubt that. She didn’t hang out with her friends until tonight night. She couldn’t possibly feel comfortable talking to boys if she wouldn’t talk to her own friends. She seems to be letting up on the vomiting right now. Okay… I guess it couldn’t hurt to have another woman in the apartment right now. Set it up in the morning and I’ll head to the office when you get here.
Garcia: You got it, my boy genius!
Spencer: Oh! Garcia, I may not have time to get to the donut shop and back here in time. Would you mind picking her up some donuts? She didn’t eat before drinking. Her favorites are chocolate frosted with sprinkles and Boston creme.
Garcia: Oh, good lord! Every girl learns that one the hard way. Yeah, I’ll bring her some coffee too. I’ll pick her up some bath stuff too.
Spencer: Okay, but don’t spoil her too bad. Have a good rest of the night, Garcia!
Garcia: Good night, my furry friend!
Spencer puts his phone back in his pocket and walks back to the bathroom. “Let’s get you back to bed so that we can both get some sleep.” Reid once again carries his sister on his back and lays her in bed. He gives her a kiss on the forehead, turns off the light, and closes the door gently. He gets her another glass of water and some Tylenol and leaves it on her nightstand.

Jinora x Reader
Summary: The bison episode with a twist.
Warnings: Light cursing?
Tumblr media
You had been around the air bending family since you could walk, much to your mothers dismay. Your mother was Lin Beifong and you were the product of a very drunk one night stand that made her realize that men weren't that great. She loved you either way and was pretty strict on you, remembering how loose her mother had been with her and Su. She also made sure to give you attention when she could, sometimes it was hard with being the Chief of Police. Luckily you understood how important her job is and would spend days on Avatar Island when Lin got too busy with work. You also liked hanging out on Avatar Island for two other reasons. One being that no one made fun of you for being the child of Lin Beifong and grandchild of Toph Beifong, two powerful benders, and being a non bender. Also Jinora lived on Avatar Island. You and Jinora had grown up together and at some point in time your platonic feelings for her turned into something more. Of course you never told her, your mom was Lin Beifong, Tenzin's ex-girlfriend. And if that wasn't bad enough you didn't know if she even liked you back or if you deserved her, being a non bender and all. Even though you were a non bender your mom made sure you could fight and you spent time practicing air bending moves with Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo, you even are able to go through the swinging walls with ease now.
When harmonic convergence happened, you went with the Avatar team to the South Pole. You know you couldn't do anything to help really, but you wanted to be there when Jinora woke up. And you were, after pulling her grandma into a tight , she noticed you over Katara's shoulder and after the hug threw herself into your arms. You buried your head into her shoulder and squeezed her super tight. You almost told her your feelings then and there, after realizing you could have lost her or the world could have ended today. But you refrained from doing so because of the big clean up everyone had to deal with. But you made sure to flirt more with her or compliment her, just trying to get her to blush. You even flirted with her in front of Tenzin, much to his dismay. One day, after Bumi had showed everyone he could air bend, you wished you could do the same too. So you found a quiet patch of grass, away from prying eyes and meditated, which was something you enjoyed doing even if you weren't an air bender. While meditating, your thoughts kept going back to Jinora who was showing Bumi air bending moves with Tenzin, Ikki, and Meelo. When suddenly you felt something in you shift and when you opened your eyes you were in the middle of the training area, Tenzin, Bumi, Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo all staring at you in shock. "How did I get here?" you asked, looking around for an answer. When you looked down you noticed that you were blue and floating above the ground. "Ahhh what happened!? Am I a ghost!?" "No your doing spiritual projection! Like I can do, that's amazing." Jinora said in awe, making you blush. "How do I stop? Does this mean I can air bend?"
Turns out you could bend, which led you to where you are now, in the Northern air temple. After releasing all those air benders from the Queen of Ba Sing Se, you didn't like her. You also didn't like this new kid Kai and it's not because of his past or anything like that. It was the fact that Jinora started practically ignoring you and spent all her time hanging and blushing around Kai. What you hadn't known was that Kai was encouraging her to confess her feelings to you, all those blushes you witnessed were over you. After watching Jinora blow up on Tenzin, you waited 10 minutes before going after her, wanting her to calm down some before hand. When you got to her, you saw her and Kai standing on the railing about to fly away. You heart at the fact that Jinora was just gonna leave without you. You turn to leave but accidentally kick a rock making noise. When you look back you see Jinora blushing and Kai sporting a big grin, making you smile back nervously. "Hey y/n, we were gonna go see some baby bison if you want to come with us." Kai offered, taking a quick peek at Jinora with a smirk. "Sure." you say awkwardly, not really wanting to go but you needed to talk to Jinora at some point.
As you flew, you caught up to Jinora before putting your back towards the ground and fly under Jinora. "Did I do something wrong?" Jinora looked down startled to see you right under her, causing her to blush. "No." she said simply with a small smile before flying down towards where the baby sky bison were the day before. "Where are all the bison?" Kai asks and as soon as he does Jinora gets caught in a net. "Jinora!" you yell before turning where to see the net came from. You fought with the bison hunters, while Kai tried to free Jinora from the nets he got caught too. "Kai!" you yelled turning to him as you watch him hit the ground next to Jinora, who's eyes widen. "Look o--" Jinora said before you felt your body get launched into the air and slammed to the ground. Before you pass out, you make eye contact with Jinora, who has fear written in her eyes.
You groan, as you wake up, feeling yourself leaning against something warm. You blink your eyes a couple times to try and clear your eyes. When your eyes finally clear up, you look up to see what you had been leaning against Jinora, which causes you to blush. Feeling your movement Jinora pauses her conversation with Kai to turn and look at you. When she sees you already looking at her she gives a small smile and blushes. "I'm so glad your awake." She says as she wraps her arms around you lightly in a hug. After you hug, you try and sit up only to groan in pain. "What happened?" Jinora bit her lip in worry, "You got practically body slammed into the air and then ground. You need to be careful, you probably broke something." You nod your head in understanding, just now finally noticing the small room your in and the bars. "What the hell? Why are we in a cage?" "It's the bison hunters, they are taking bison to the Earth Queen." Kai says from another side of a wall with anger in his voice. "Does anyone know we're missing yet?" "I sent a spirit to tell Bum-Ju, who hopefully got Uncle Bumi's attention." You nod your head in understanding and you all sit in silence for a minute, before you hear noise from Kai's cell. Next thing you see is Kai's face smiling in front of your cage. Before he can start unlocking your cage Jinora interrupts him, "Get the bison first." You nod your head in agreement before watching Kai get launched away from the cages.
"Crap." You say as you watch Kai get into a fighting stance. You sit up from leaning against Jinora, wrapping an arm around your ribs in pain, to get a better look at what was happening. Jinora sits up as well, still keeping an eye on you. You get a smile on your face when you see all the new air benders come rushing in to aide Kai. While they're fighting, Kai manages to free 1 of 2 other bison before getting to your and Jinora's cage. Before he can even start unlocking it, he gets earth bended away from the truck before the truck takes off. From the break neck speed the truck goes, you and Jinora slam back against the wall, both of you making sounds of pain from the force of the impact. After a few minutes of driving, you peek out and look towards the front of the truck from in between the bars. Right as you did, you saw a full grown bison land in front of the car and slam it's tail against the ground. Before you could think about what you were doing, you turned around fast and pulled Jinora into your chest. You shut your eyes waiting for impact, which means you didn't see Jinora blush at your actions.
When the wave of air hit it caused the truck to flip. After the first flip you tighten your hold on Jinora and feel your back hit the bars over and over again. When it finally stops, you feel like you can breath again. You loosen your hold on Jinora, wanting to make sure she's okay before passing out from pain. When you look down and notice that Jinora had a tight grip on your shirt and her eyes were squeezed shut. "Jinora." You whisper, fighting the black dots that clouded your vision. Jinora loosens her hold on your shirt and looks up, her eyes widen. "Oh my spirits! You're bleeding!" Jinora says, you just smile before saying, "I'm gonna pass out now."
When you awake your on a bed in the air temple. When you sit up you groan in pain and notice the bandage around your stomach and one on your temple. You sit up slowly and grab your glider to use as a cane. (Like how Aang does when he wakes up after getting struck by lightning.) You start heading outside to find anyone but notice that it's night time and head to Jinora's room instead. You knock on her door, hoping she's not asleep, and turn to leave when she doesn't open the door. Right as you turn around, however, the door opens and Jinora pops her head out. When she meets your eyes, hers widen and she opens the door all the way. She pulls you into the room, mindful of your injuries, and makes you sit down on the bed. "Why are you out of bed?" Jinora questioned, arms crossed in front of her chest. You just shrug, "I woke up by myself and wanted to see where everyone else was. "Did all the baby bison get free? You didn't get injured too did you?" You respond, asking your own questions. Jinora just shakes her head in amusement by the fact that you were more worried about everyone else, when you were the one most hurt. "Yes, we got all the baby bison and no one was hurt. Which reminds me... What were you doing!? I know you didn't want to see me hurt but you were already injured! I could have handled being thrown around, you body couldn't!" You had never seen Jinora mad before, but you also didn't see what she was like when you passed out in the truck. Jinora couldn't get the sight of your bloody head out of her memory. "Jinora!" you say as you pull her into you when she suddenly starts crying, the position slightly awkward because you still sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Look I'm sorry I worried you. I know you can handle yourself, I just don't like seeing you hurt when I could have done something about it." Jinora sniffles some, keeping her face pressed into your neck. "Why?" That question was simple, so why did it make your heart beat so hard. You knew why, you were gonna tell the truth. No half-assed because you care about her, nope, you were gonna be completely honest. "Well I don't know how to say this, or how you'll react but just no that you'll always be my friend." Your sentence caused Jinora to sit up, she had never seen you so nervous before. Making eye contact with her, you let out a deep breath. "Jinora... I like you more than a friend. And it's okay if you don't feel the same, I've noticed how close you've gotten to Kai over the last couple of weeks." Jinora was shocked by your confession. You liked her too? Kai would never stop teasing her for how he was right and that your feelings for each other were shared. You on the other hand took Jinora's shock in a bad way. "I should probably see myself out." You said as you untangled from her and grabbed your glider. As soon as you stood up, however, you got tugged back by Jinora. Before you could ask anything, you were pulled into a kiss. Your eyes widened in shock before returning the kiss. Holy spirits, you thought, I can't believe this is happening! As you both pull away from the kiss. "If it's not clear by now I feel the same way y/n." You just nodded dumbly in understanding, still in shock over the kiss. Before you could say anything Jinora yawns, "We can talk more in the morning but we should probably go to bed." You just nodded your head again before grabbing your glider to leave. "Where are you going?" Jinora asked as you moved towards the door. "You said go to bed..." You replied as you mumbled out a few other excuses to try and lessen the blush on your face. Jinora just chuckled at how adorable yo looked rambling.
"Come on just stay in here with me."
