PRISCILLA (2023)

~ my thoughts as an elvis fan

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD:

so I saw it last night and I’ve been stewing on it ever since as I wanted to be 100% sure in myself before saying this publicly

**brace yourselves**

After just one viewing… I feel confident in saying that I preferred this film over “Elvis” 2022 🤧. It was just so immersive and so deeply intimate that I walked away from the theater feeling like I had just lived a life with Elvis, and experienced all the ugly and wonderful things that came with it

I am seeing it again tonight and possibly tomorrow just to recapture that feeling (which made me cry… three times…)

And although I’m not the biggest fan of Sofia Coppola, there is simply no denying that she has perfected showing “girlhood” in film, and making the most unique experiences, like being Marie Antoinette and being Priscilla Presley, somehow universal to everybody. I haven’t felt being “14” since I was 14, which was a whole 5 years ago, but WHEW… I most definitely felt 14 again when watching Priscilla navigate life in Germany

Also- we all saw how Austin Butler was completely cheated out of an Oscar and so I’m begging that we do not do that again. Give the Oscar to Cailee Spaeny (who played Priscilla) right now 😤 There are no words besides “immaculate” to describe her performance. Her future is so bright as an actress, I just cannot wait to follow her career + she just seems like the sweetest person ever??

And I know it might seem insane to say that I preferred “Priscilla” over “Elvis” and some of y’all might crucify me for that take but my preference solely comes down to the fact that I appreciate Priscilla’s perspective much more so than the Colonel’s, who to me, has always been the least interesting aspect of Elvis’ story

My biggest gripe with having the Colonel narrative/tell Elvis’ life in the 2022 film is the fact that it made the film feel rather impersonal to Elvis as I don’t think the script or the storytelling ever fully allowed for Austin Butler to explore what he was like beyond the stage

And personally speaking, I have a much deeper love for Elvis the person as opposed to Elvis the performer, and I think that “Priscilla” showed the human side of him far more than “Elvis” ever did (like y’all we actually get to hear and see him reading his philosophy books in this!!!)

But before I get into what was actually depicted in film, and all my praises, I thought I would briefly state what I thought could have been done better. Don’t get me wrong, this movie was beyond amazing, however, it was definitely not without its’ faults:

1. If you have seen a lot of reviewers talk negatively about the pacing in this film- just know that they are unfortunately, completely right in that assessment. The whole timeline of Germany felt literally five minutes long, and the 70s also, felt maybe 10 minutes long which just made both the beginning and end feel rather rushed. Also there were at least 5 scenes that just faded to black before going onto the next one, and some very abrupt cuts in scenes which felt a bit awkward

2. Because this is a biopic, and because it’s based on a real life, there is no climax like you would be accustomed to normally in a film and so I think that the average viewer, like someone who may not really care about Priscilla or Elvis, will probably walk away from the film feeling unsatisfied- possibly bored. I saw it with my mom and my sister, and my mom was asleep in like 45 minutes 😭. The movie definitely got repetitive at some points but I acknowledge the fact that life is repetitive, especially for Priscilla in the 60s while Elvis was off making movies

3. While Priscilla (played by Cailee Spaeny) aged realistically and seamlessly, Elvis (played by Jacob Elordi) was essentially the same person (physically) for 95% percent of the film. For some reason, his hair was already dyed black in the Germany scenes, although we know it was brown at that time, and so there was no real transformation for him until Lisa Marie is born. The height of the actor was definitely jarring at first but eventually I got used to it…however…I damn near busted out laughing when they showed him in the Comeback special outfit 💀 His performance was nothing but incredible (ESPECIALLY THE VOICE) and so I learned to get over the physical disparities rather quickly

4. The ending of this film, particularly the song, was overwhelmingly sad and impactful but I was really disappointed that we didn’t get to see Priscilla’s and Elvis’ relationship after the divorce. This film ends with Priscilla leaving Graceland, starting her “new life”, which didn’t make much sense to me considering this movie was adapted from her book, which very much explores that part of her life, especially with Elvis

I would have really love to seen moments like this from Priscilla’s perspective ⬇️

5. NO CIRCLE G RANCH!!! It is borderline criminal to make a film about Priscilla and Elvis and to not include their time spent at Circle G ranch ** which Priscilla has always said were their happiest times together **. I assume that this was likely an issue because of the budget and the fact that they only had 30 days to film but god… I would have really appreciated some of the domestic bliss that Priscilla and Elvis shared while living in the trailer on the ranch. There were many happy moments/sequences (y’all are going to die when you see the rollerblading/go cart scenes) in this movie, but I think their gradual separation/withdrawal from one another (post marriage) would have hit harder if we saw how happy they were together during their ranch phase

6. For those who have read “Elvis and Me”, we all know about the famed LSD scene that takes place and unfortunately, Coppola heavily missed the mark on it. We don’t see Lamar Fike making out with a tree, we don’t see Jerry Schilling in a closet- instead we see Priscilla and Elvis just kind of rolling around, laughing amongst themselves while the room around them turns different colors

There were definitely many key moments/stories like that missing from the film, and I honestly wish that the movie was an hour longer so that we could have seen the book more fully fleshed out

Lastly, here’s just a general synopsis of the scenes in Germany… I was going to do the whole movie but I don’t have the stamina to type it all out 😭. If y’all want to know something specific please feel free to comment below and I will let you know <3!!

After the beginning credits are shown, the film starts with Currie Grant (who was renamed as Terry West) approaching Priscilla in a diner, inviting her to a party at Elvis’ house. After talking with her parents and assuring them that Priscilla will be looked after by him and his wife, it cuts to her in the back of a car, on her way to meet Elvis. The scene is exactly like how it is in the book, Elvis asks her how old she is, he remarks that she is “just a baby” and so on- Elvis then plays “a Whole lotta shakin” at the piano and that is one of three musical performances we see from him

Priscilla is then re-invited by Currie aka Terry via Elvis to comeback to the house again. Elvis invites Priscilla up to his room, she looks around and sees letters from Anita Wood, and a poster of Bridgette Bardot just like in the book. After Elvis talks about Gladys and how he is still reeling over her death, and how lonely he has felt since then, they share their first kiss to the song “Crimson and Clovers”

There are some scenes of Priscilla at school and some scenes of her sort of convincing her parents to let her continue to see Elvis. And they do agree, but just like in the book, they want to meet him first. Elvis is questioned by Priscilla’s father on why he wants to be with her to which Elvis replies that she is very mature for her age and that he likes talking to her since she is from home aka the United States. He then assures Priscilla’s father that she will be taken care of. After that we see them going to the movies where Elvis expresses how much he wants to be a serious actor, and then they share another kiss on the car ride home. It then cuts to Christmas time where we see Elvis giving Priscilla a watch and then BOOM- Elvis and her are on the way to the airport where they say their final goodbyes as he leaves for the United States

The film really does follow closely to the book (at least from 59’ when they meet to 69’- again the 70s were really rushed) and so I really recommended to read that prior to watching the movie

As for the more sensitive scenes-

There is no explicit sex, no graphic nudity, and no scene where Elvis forces himself upon Priscilla. He does say “this is how a real man makes love to his woman” but all he does is kiss her before she pushes him off. There is a rather long “polaroid-taking” sequence where it shows all the outfits that Elvis would Priscilla dress up in but other than that, we only see Elvis and Priscilla make out

And it did show when Elvis accidentally hit Priscilla in the eye during the pillow fight scene in her book, along with the scene of him throwing a chair in her general direction after she expressed she didn’t like a demo of one his songs, and the scene where he grabs all her clothes from the closet and tells her that she should go visit her parents. I don’t think that the scenes made Elvis look abusive: Coppola was surprisingly nuanced in showing that he had reasons for his sometimes bad temperament i.e the pills he took along with the fact that he was frustrated with his film career

It also shows Elvis’ infidelities but really only through movie magazines that Priscilla sees. So it’s never explicitly shown, I would say it’s more hinted at than anything

And there are two scenes of Priscilla with Mike Stone but again, nothing that is explicitly shown, it’s just hinted at

Finally, to finish this up, this is what I wrote on my Instagram account which I very much stand by ⬇️

i mentioned my pastry chef ayana hc in passing but i'm gonna fully expand on that now: SO. also aya family hcs bc people should talk ab that but ayana's dad is a chef (no specific speciality, but he does make a lot of baked goods) and growing up she would often mirror what he does and that eventually led to her practicing and honing her skills! :D (she also studies culinary arts at college teehee) ALSO!!! she brings all sorts of baked goods she makes over for all her favourite people to enjoy constantly whether that be cookies, pastries, cakes, all of that yummy stuff

despite being an absolute loser girlfail idiot she can jam on the bass like its no tomorrow. IM TALKING ABOUT SLAP, FINGERPICKING, YOU NAME IT, SHE CAN DO IT ‼️‼️ here's an example of the bass playing style i had in mind for her, very energetic and fluid heuehehehehehe

SPEAKING OF (and this ties in a little with my band au) and whenever she drops an epic bassline everyone just stops and stares at her totally being in the zone

those two gossip about anything and everything and every single night they do each other's hair n spend time doing full fledged spa routines while talking shit about anyone and everyone bc theyre high maintenance as hell and take pride in their combined collection of bazillions of good smelling bodywashes and shampoos

she takes this VERY seriously by the way if she hears a singular complaint she will go insane

I was half expecting all of the What are we Part 2 to be angsty but I'm glad half of the maknae line ended okay 😮‍💨

I was emotionally prepared to be sad BUT INSTEAD you got me so riled up!!!! I was literally pacing around after reading Felix's and I was ready to punch somebody after Seungmin's! I wasn't even sad, I was just so pissed off???? Felix's was so frustrating and I would physically fight the guy if what happened with Seungmin happened to me! Like, 2 MONTHS and he can't get himself together enough to at least have an answer! He showed up with the same "I don't like labels" bs and doesn't want to talk about complicated things! THAT'S THE WORST!!! When it comes to important things in life, indecisive people really make me mad as hell, so I'm glad at least Y/n in Felix's and Seungmin's made the difficult (but ultimately necessary) call to end things since neither guy could figure it out smh

I gotta figure out something to calm me down now 😤 I can't be this mad while I'm doing laundry at like 2am (luckily, I don't have work tomorrow at least)

[Glad you're off until Thursday so hopefully that's enough time to rest and recover! I also did a similar amount of stuff in high school and college and also totally don't get how I made it through alive back then thinking that it was normal to do so much 😭 Teens have so much life energy in them I guess?]

I apologize in advance for the rambling I’m about to do.

I could have made them all angst, but decided last minute. And then I almost released them as angst like and fluff line but I also changed it last minute. Also, I think I put Innie through enough with Distancing pt 2 and Ji I felt deserved a happy ending after all that. But hyung line is also going go be half angst half fluff again and at least one of the angst is going to be heavy (at least I hope).

I honestly have no idea what happened with Felix and Min’s. I started off with Min’s with the full intention of making it sad but I got heated myself and wrote over 1,000 words bc how dare he? Especially with the whole “my girlfriend” comment. I feel like Min wouldn’t be the first to apologize even if he is wrong and I blame that video of when the boys (mainly Innie) pranked him into thinking he lost a company card. Like he was dead set on staying mad if Felix didn’t go and bug him. And Lix? Like, I think he is a person who would be the first to apologize in any situation, even if it wasn’t his fault but since I see him as someone who also will bottle everything up, I felt like he would just over think a romantic relationship to the point where it feels safer to not jinx it by labeling it, idk. But also, they’re young and I guess dumb (they’re literally only a year younger than me) so I feel like its also on brand that they not too in tune with their feelings yet. I imagine that they’re moping around bc they miss bff reader. But, no, yeah, I was getting HEATED writing Min’s!

As MCR once said, teenagers scare the living shit out of me.

I didn't know what to post so I just said to myself: "Why not speak about life in Liceo Classico?" Honestly I know you guys don't care about it but hey I'm going to speak about it because I'm kinda bored so yeah 😎🤟

Let's start with a brief introduction of what is the Liceo Classico.

The Italian “Liceo Classico” is a high school major in humanities: it is possibly the only high school in the world where pupils study both Latin and Ancient Greek and it’s internationally renowned for its advanced curricula in philosophy, literature and history. The literal translation from Italian to English of “Liceo Classico” is “Classical Lyceum” but, as we anticipated above, it’s correctly translated as “humanistic secondary school” or “high school major in humanities”. The “Liceo Classico” is the oldest and most prestigious secondary school in Italy and, before 2012, was actually divided in two segments: the first two years – called "Ginnasio" or “Gymnasium” – trained the students for the second part – the real “Liceo” – which lasts three years. Now, the first two years are called "biennio" (transl. two-year period) and the last three "triennio" (transl. three-year period). Besides that, it was considered so prestigious that, up to 1969, you could not attend an Italian university of any kind if you hadn’t obtained a “Liceo Classico” diploma.

Our school schedule is not messed up at all, actually. This is really good, considering many things. Of course, we have homework everyday and this week, for example, we had a test every day and the next days we'll have tests so yes, this is normal here. Oh, plus, not only tests, but also oral exams where our geography and history professor gives us 110 pages for the next day at 11.27 p.m. Oh, and she's a real bastard, like, she calls 8 people to her desks, does 2 questions each (things that she didn't say in class/things that aren't in the book), she continues to interrogate even when the bell of the end of the lesson rings and she gave all the people in my class a 3 (We have a 1-10 grading system, and below 6 it's a red grade, an insufficient). Like, for tomorrow, I have 130 pages plus the greek oral exam! Oh, also, today our latin-greek prof (don't get me wrong, we love her) entered our class and said "put your desks apart 😃😃" That means, there was a surprise test. Of greek. And god I went to school with 37.4 degrees of temperature (basically a fever) and pfft my mind was not working so yes 😭

These stuff that you see up here are our daily homeworks...of greek. Because yes, we have latin too for the same day!

These are the homework I had to do for today.

Ahem, so, after you cried and asked yourself why the fuck did you go to this school, you watch the clock and see it's 1 am and you think you can finally sleep, but you remember that the professor said some homework in class and she didn't put it on electronic register. With the will to live below zero, you take the enormous dictionaries.

The last step is believing that God actually exists, since you finished at 4 am and you have 2 hours to rest before waking up earlier (6 am) than the other days since you didn't understand half of the stuff that your prof will interrogate you on.

1.) What’s your para’s biggest motivation? How would they react if this motivation was challenged by the narrative (someone kidnapps the person they’ve been fighting for or the person whose death they’ve been avenging is actually alive or they find out the goal they achieved isn’t enough to compensate the trouble they went through etc)?

Ozzie's (@madasacrow) main motivation is not being in so much fucking pain all the time!! My man just has really bad chronic pain 😭 He built his actuators to help him walk/alleviate that pain, but unfortunately they malfunctioned and told him to do crime 😔. Once he gets his inhibitor chip fixed he's like. the chillest guy ever lol these 2 images basically sum him up:

4.) Does your para’s emotions drive or hinder them when it comes to trying to achieve their goals? Do they view their emotions as a strength or weakness? Do they view emotions in others as a strength or weakness?

Wendy's (@fractured-fables) emotions drive her SO MUCH. She just wants to find her brothers and bring them home safe. Her love for her brothers fules her and she thinks its a strength — she loves them and so she must be brave for them. Typical older sister stuff I guess. She also views others emotions as a strength and tbh now that I think about it, is probably very emotionally intelligent.

7.) What vices get in the way of your para’s motivations drive and goals? Do they overcome them or learn to cope with them at any point in the narrative? Is there a moral lesson about your para’s vices in relation to their goals or does it just exist for angst?

Macbeth's main vice would probably be his pride. He can't be wrong. Glitch has to be right. He's been working with her for so long now, has hurt so many people, that it's sort of a sunk cost fallacy situation.

Glitch & Macbeth's relationship is very unhealthy/toxic, but once Macbeth breaks free of Glitch's control (literally she is mind controlling him), he has a VERY BAD panic attack & existential crisis. The fact that he's in a video game is new information to him!! He's learning he did all this bad shit and THEN told that his actions lowkey don't have consequences. but he still feels bad. I haven't really thought about what he'd be like past becoming Matthew (Beta!Macbeth/him on earth ii) but he probably doesn't log in as much and helps False Moon occasionally.

13.) How does achieving success make you feel? What about failure? Are you able to sit comfortably with feelings of success? Are you able to sit comfortably with the feelings of failure?

Alice Rose (@madasacrow) is nearly never satisfied. No matter how successful she is, she can always pick it apart and think of ways to do things better. Failure is worse for her. With success, she can at least smile and wave and do the song and dance of congratulations etc. With failure? She has to sit with it. Confront that whatever it is that she failed at, admit that she isn't perfect. It hurts and is a massive blow to her ego, even if she hides it well.

16.) What would you say your motivation is and why is it your motivation? How much does it effect your day to day life? How much does it effect big life decisions? Does this motivation effect or define things like your morality values etc.?

Glitch: I want Calypso dead! Why? Why ever not? He's an annoying loudmouth that doesn't give a shit about his actions. I'm just trying to help everyone out here! It really is unfortunate how much time it takes up, when I could be spending it on better things, like enjoying being the best.

next morning steve is frantic trying to figure out where he is (at home robin dragged him off a couch) and trying to find him “was he here?? did you see him leave?? WHERE IS HE??”

“THE GUY I KISS LAST NIGHT WAS HE HERE?!”

and he goes through all of that within a span of 30 minutes bc he has class so hes going about his day going thru mini little crisis meanwhile henry has halfway forgotten about just regretful of mixing weed and way too much alcohol. he sits down in one of his classes and out the corner of his eye he can feel someone staring at him and he turns and its steve. anyone whos ever been to a party on campus knows at least of steve and so henry just trying not to panic cus “why the fuck is he looking at me like that” and hes just trying so hard not to look bothered but as soon as class ends hes making a mad dash to the door and steve is basically chasing after him calling for him

this is so good i Love it. the ratatouille analogy, robin's "you kissed a GUY last night?" steve just staring at henry knowing he's his soulmate but also not knowing how to tell him and also freaking out over feeling this way about a guy in the first place, the idea that steve would see their whole future in one kiss.

i like to imagine that when steve finally tells robin that it was henry he kissed she's like ".....oh." and he's like "oh? OH?!" "no, no, steve. henry's really cool and nice. i really like him, he just... doesn't seem like he's particularly interested in a white picket fence right now. or even a boyfriend." and that sends him spiraling. he's already got a shortlist for their kid's names

also i like the idea of when henry finds out steve is convinced he's the love of his life, he's very skeptical. like "if you didn't realize you liked boys until i kissed you, of course you'd be convinced i'm your soulmate. go kiss some other guys, i'm sure you'll be fine."

maybe it ends up with henry letting steve kiss him stone cold sober, if only to get it out of his system and convince him that the alcohol and realization had just gotten to him, and then--

Okay so for the sleepover time I’m just gonna talk about my day because I literally have no friends and I love oversharing.(I’m sorry if I’m doing this wrong or anything😭) So I tried bookbinding one of my fav fics and it went wrong in every imaginable way (its so ugly. Looking at it makes me wanna rip my hair out.) buttt I didn’t really care because my mum made my fav dessert so yumyum. It’s almost 3am for me and I have school in a few hours but I’m..idk how to explain this. Sleepy and tired but not tired? I hope this makes sense. OHOHOH also we’re reading such a cool book in my English class it’s called “my brothers name is Jessica” and I’m loving it so far (the parents are transphobic and it’s making my blood boil but I’m pretty sure it has a happy ending) . Also tomorrow I get my French test back so wish me luck. I probably did good on it because I love French (fun fact I actually used to hate french but now I love it sm. languages are just so easy and so beautiful.) Today was super boring and while eating spaghetti one of my brackets moved so tomorrow I have to go to my dentist but at least I’ll be able to skip class so yay!! Lastly I just wanna say that I’m very very hungry but am too lazy to make myself food🙁

Just so you know my first bookbinding project was actually Trash! Literal garbage could not even open it! Typesetting alone takes so much time I 10/10 recommend go slow with it, be as careful with each step along as you can and try new things. There’s no time limit!

Desert is the best meal and I’m so happy ur mum made your favourite! I need to get back into baking I miss it.

My English teachers didn’t even bother to find us books to read they mostly gave us articles it was very sad my critical reading skills suffered for it so I’m happy some English teachers still care.

I am also hungry and am too lazy to make myself food right now, sadly that does not go away ever in life. My cat is not having that problem and is crying at me for a snack but her feeding time is in 25 minutes so she has to wait.

My day has been so fun actually I did all my fav things. I edited someone’s fic @sequinhaze wywm, I typesetted another one @euphorial-docx OPEV, AND I started reading/watching Twelfth Night (Shakespeare) + I watched The Last Of Us.

Also! I finished Chapter One of the if we were villans au!! I need to have more plot set up before I can start posting cuz I have so many Secret Things in chapter 1 but not even I know what the Secret Things mean yet. Writing is weird like that.

Regulus has a secret, but what secret? Who knows, cuz it isn’t me.

So I’ve recently been replaying New Vegas and I’ve admittedly got a bit bored of it for the time being. Don’t get me wrong, it is a game I love but I have been playing it a lot lately.

Interesting random fact though, before starting HRT I used to game like constantly. Like it was really hard to get me to be bored of a game. I could play the same game for days or weeks on end and not get bored. When I started HRT though, I stopped being able to do that. Like I still love video games but my interest shifted more towards reading books and watching TV. Not sure if anyone else who is trans has a similar experience to this when they started HRT?

But yeah, that was a bit of a tangent. I was basically writing this post with the intent of saying, I always play Fallout and The Elder Scrolls on the normal difficulty setting. Survival which was first introduced in New Vegas just always scared me. Which brings me onto something, I should tell you how I got into Fallout.

So basically, back in 2008 I wanted a PS3 with GTA IV for Christmas. GTA is one of my favourite video game franchises and as a kid it was pretty much the only thing I’d play. I never really strayed away from the games I knew and loved. And that was GTA. I did get The Sims eventually but that was kinda one of those rare exceptions. My Mum couldn’t find a game bundle that contained GTA IV though, so she got me a PS3 that came with Little Big Planet, Fallout 3 and Resistance. Her plan was, I trade the 3 games in to get GTA IV. I’d been brought up not to trade in presents though, so gave each game its fair shot. I hated Resistance so that went in the trade pile, Little Big Planet was fun so I kept it and well Fallout 3. Here’s the story.

Basically, I set up my character and quite enjoyed the character customisation. Beyond The Sims, i hadn’t really experienced something like that and loved that aspect. I loved the dialogue options and feeling like I had a say in the conversations and then I left the vault and things went downhill.

The compass confused me so I got instantly lost and had no idea where I was going, I got attacked by a giant ant and well I just ran. I stumbled on those train tunnels the vampire people who’s name escapes me lived in. I hung there for a bit but then ventured back out and bumped into Lucky Harry. I spent like several in real life days following this dude round the map. I then ended up at Big Town and hung there a bit too scared to leave the place.

I did in time get the hang of playing Fallout and honestly, playing a game where I was terrified due to my lack of skill was actually pretty immersive to the point it was kinda fun.

The point I am laying out here is I wasn’t that good and it took me a while to find my feet in Fallout, so the survival modes scared me cos it would mean finding my feet all over again. I also found Fallout New Vegas way more challenging than I did Fallout 3.

I got Fallout 76 back in 2018 though and with it being a multiplayer game, you don’t get to select your difficulty level and you are playing in what is effectively Survival Mode. It took me some time, but I did begin to get rather good at playing Fallout 76 and it changed my play style. On my replay of New Vegas, even though I’m doing normal mode, I noticed I am using some of what I picked up in 76 in that and I have found this play through far easier. Like I can pretty much 2 shot deathclaws in New Vegas now. Last time I played I was a lot of shotting deathclaws 😂 It took me so long to kill them 😭

It’s taken 14 years but I think I am finally ready to make the games more difficult for me. So tomorrow, I’m gonna boot up Skyrim starting a new game where I play in Survival Mode and I’ll likely do the same with Fallout 4 and New Vegas at some point 😊

I don’t know if anyone will be interested in any of this but hey, enjoy 😊

" what is ene) aND WE WERE 7 PEOPLE IN 1 CAR 😭😭😭 so there was 5 persons on the back thats like designed for 3 people😭 we left one friend at the school bc her mom was picking them up so we were 4 left in the back seats i sat beside him and because we were super high on adrenaline and a little 🤏 tight we moved a lot and so he kept putting his hand on my lower back??? AND WE ENDED UP HOLDING HANDS OUT OF NOWHERE and he carressed my hand a lot and did like patterns😿😿😿 SAOUR CUTE WTF bit we another friend and ( context we already dropped off the other two so its only 3 of us left plus the teacher even more context he is a year older than us im in 9th grade and hes in 10th but we were both born in 2007 if that makes sense??? ) ok so w that friend we were like anoying him like WHO DO U LIKE?? dont u trust us you dont like us anymore?? ( we were so high on adrenaline and also our relationship is like that extremly playful and not serious amongst friends) so we started are they from our class??? and he went yes?? maybe and then my friend lets call her rachel bc im tired of saying my friend, rachel went aura.... the other aura (there are 2 aura's in our class ) he went no???? rachel: this aura ( me) him :idk maybe AND W THAT SHE WAS SCREAMING I DIDN'T PROCESS SHIT AND HE WAS EMBARRASSED so rachel goes : aura did y process what just happened me: 😭no😭 so at this point we were in front of my house and i go: we are going to have this conversation tomorrow fast forward to today lmao my school is in the neighborhood i live in so i go home walking so we have a group of friends that live on the neighborhood and go home together me him and rachel are on that "group" but rachel didn't come home walking idk why and the two friends i told u ab last time (the one that i liked and my best friend update they are now dating and are aDORABLE i am the bridesmaid they both agreed on it) so we were walkinf home 4 of us plus my sister and another friend when we get to my house its the 4 of us plus my sister my 2 friends who are datinf buy icecream ( my family has a small ice cream bussiness the ice cream my mom makes is indeed bussing) and he my sister and i were left in my house so i go : you know we gotta talk and he goes : wdm🤨 i i say : mom im going outside for a bit and we go to the park in front of my house (like 4 meters from my house) and we sit on the bench and talk...... alot from 3:40 ish?? till 5:10 😭 we were holding handa hi put an arm around my waist put his head on my shoulder i put mine on his saour cute im telling u 😿 and the he had to leave for basketball practice and i had a road trip ( im on the car rn 😭) and he gave me a little kiss before he left ($? $! $? #;! $;$! #(_) () #) #/! _ WTF ⁉️⁉️⁉️ AAAA im dead my spirit is typing this but i friendzoned very had at the start of our friendship 😭 it was so bad so i felt kinda guilty but its all ok now

Okay i hope i can rant here for a bit...?

Pls forgive me I'm just so scared and I got no one to talk to😭

I am honestly screwed. Like...I've been procrastinating for 1 whole month now I've got less than 2 weeks to prepare for an exam. And my life and career depend on this. And i still couldn't find the motivation to do it? Like...how? What is wrong with me?

I don't know if its the fact that I've been studying for 6 years without any relaxation...or the fact that I had some health problems for the past two years....I just can't study anymore. Like...I'm done for now. I need a break, but I can't afford to take a break rn?

I don't know what to do...and my result from my finals is due in a few days. I don't know what I'll do if I performed badly...

I'm just so so sorry for ranting....I promise i wont do it again...I just wanted to say this publicly because it'll relieve my stress a bit...

Don't worry. I understand that it is scary. All you can do now is try to remain calm and make the best out of the situation.

The "good" thing about exams is, that it's always something you have done before. I'm sure you're more familiar with the material than you give yourself credit for. We all need a break eventually, and studying for six years straight is a huge amount of stress.

But, as much as this goes against what you think right now, even if you do fail, which I highly doubt you will, it's not the end of the world. Yes, you have worked hard to get to this point. Yes, it will be frustrating. But it's not the end. The world will keep spinning and you will be fine.

As for some advice: Take a couple deep breaths, do some selfcare and go back to it with a fresh mind tomorrow. Practice the things that you truly don't understand and leave the things you have a basic understanding for. If you're not sure which applies to which, have a friend or a family member ask you questions to the topic and see what you can answer and what you can't answer.

Make sure to take plenty breaks and do things that bring you joy in between. Don't dedicate your entire time to studying, or else you'll only stress yourself out more.

Also, dw about ranting, it's okay. You'll be alright, I promise. For now, it is probably the best if you go to sleep.

I totally understand wanting to watch the lighter shows, I was trying to find shows to watch but I wasn't feeling the darker ones. I think Signal was the darkest show in my opinion. I forget if we talked about it but either it's pretty haunting or I was in my Sensitive™ phase lol

I still need to watch Twenty Five Twenty One, Tomorrow, and Uncanny Encounter (along with like 100s of other kdramas) so I'll update you if when I do!

I've recently watched Life on Mars and The Killer's Shopping List and they're both a mixture of crime/mystery and comedy!

I really enjoyed Life on Mars but I still don't know how I feel about the ending. It's a good ending but there are some pretty heavy implications. Otherwise, it was like a found family crime show and it was great!

I really loved The Killer's Shopping List! It's so short (8 eps) and a lot of the actors stood out to me. They even had a plot line for one the characters that I really enjoyed (if I said it, I'd spoil it haha). There were some plot holes and some things were confusing but I adored the main character and a lot of the side characters.

I just finished Military Prosecuer Doberman and I really liked it! I'm not always a romance person but I wish the the 2 leads got together a lot earlier 😭 I think we deserved that at least 😭

I just started extraordinary attorney woo and I love it!! I love the romance and (most of the) characters in it! it's all about the trust 😭😭 I'm on episode 5 so hopefully I love it through the end :))

a business proposal was soooo cute. i was not expecting it to be that cute. the last ep though was. like idk. the ending was every romcom ever written. the whole show was like that but the ending rlly got me laughing on how ridiculously cliche it was. how he gets to korea and off the car and proposes and etc. honestly jfesklfjsiofsjefklssjflsfkslsioefjesoi it was rlly funny. the ending of the second couple too, but idc cause they were cute.

prosecutor doberman was THAT show that i was not expecting to rlly enjoy and once i started i binge watched the whole thing 😑 dont get what it was but it put me thru hours of it without a single thought in my brain. thank u prosecutor doberman.

also attorney woo!!!!!!!!!! im watching it but my netflix is sooooo behind on the actual releases its a nightmare everyweek, having to fend off big spoilers. but yeah i do hope i like it to the end!!!! its so cute i cant stand it

lately ive been watching minamdang cafe (also very behind bc of my netflix), alchemy of the souls and attorney woo. its my go to serotonin for every new ep. also just started big mouth and its.... interesting. there's a brazilian drama that im 99% sure has the same basic plot but im curious to see where it heads.

also going a bit beyond the krama universe, if you have the opportunity to watch severance on apple tv, it's deeeeef worth the hype and time.

OH! and i just saw good detective is going for a round 2? i cant remember the s1 plot for the life of me but i remember watching it through the end. so i guess i have something else to look forward too now as well

On a brighter note though! I got invited to a dnd campaign for January so I’ve been working on a really fun new character!! AND, Im taking Mountain Boy to my family’s Christmas party tomorrow which is great cause I’ll get to avoid all the ‘why no boyfriend?’ Questions but also SO nerve wracking cause my family is MUCH crazier than his. But Im excited anyways to make him play cards with me there and meet my fam (except my brother and nephew cause they’re down in Kentucky cause my nephew qualified for the junior olympics for track)

I’m glad Mountain Boy is meeting your family today! Congrats to your nephew! In our family newsletter I saw that on Thanksgiving one of my cousins had a gymnastics meet that they were inviting the family to and I was like man I would go if I still lived in Connecticut. I remember being invited along to my neighbor’s once and it was neat. When I was up visiting you my cousin was doing hers at the college which I think I told you about, you said it was pretty far away, like 5 hours right? She ended up spending the night with me at her grandma’s house the night before I left and I was taking a plane back to NC and she was going to be driving to NC that day as well. Her and her mom just came down to visit the 2nd week of November so her mom could run a race with my mom’s other cousin. And I’ll be looking forward to coming up next summer to visit you again!

I really would love to play dnd but I don’t have anyone to play with and I think I would need to play in person to really understand what’s going on. I was part of a test pilot group for a dnd-style game my friend and their brother pioneered and when I went to stay at their house my friend was like “by the way we’re talking about this game we made up” and both their brother and I were like “yeah OUR friend group was the test subject for that” and they were like OH RIGHT I FORGOT. They have a Friday family game night that I was crashing (they invited me to crash it since I was sleeping there, and invited our other best friend and her husband to crash it too if they wanted) but since it was Halloween it was more of a party where my friend and I watched Bluey for 2 hours and ate food their mom had made and we exchanged gifts and I got gifts too and I was like 😭 thank you 😭

I’ve been keeping it on the down-low but I’m dating again (really lowkey for right now because holiday season is retail is nightmare) but I haven’t really told anyone outside of my discord server because I was like “hey advice on this” and then my friend on discord I talk to every day and my best friend since she had to third-wheel the last date we went on since she was diving me around. My other friends have met her before but I doubt anyone remembers because my other best friend has the WORST memory (like forgetting we were the ones who demoed their game) but my other friend might remember because we all went to college together. I should tell my other friends I just have not.
