Grace Chasity and Bliklotep Headcanons!

Here are the Grace and Blinky headcanons that I made bc I misunderstood the last ask! Hope you all like these bc they were really fun to make!

- Grace has always had poor vision. She’s supposed to wear glasses but she has always hated how they felt on her face and hated the sensation of contact lenses even more so she just kind of suffered through not being able to see super great and accommodated herself whenever possible for most of her life. After coming into contact with Blinky/being under his influence, however, her vision becomes exceptionally sharp and developed.

She becomes abnormally aware of even the smallest movements or visual changes in her surroundings. One day she has the sudden realization that she can now see in the dark because Blinky needs his vessel to be able to see at all times so that he can watch at all times.

- Blinky likes to ‘passively’ possess Grace and essentially just (figuratively) sit in the back of her mind while Grace remains conscious and keeps (majority) control of her body. This is because he likes to watch things through her eyes/point of view.

When he’s doing this, she tends to become a lot more still and quiet, and her irises are tinted purple like the people in WatcherWorld. Most often, he does this when Grace is witnessing something that he would find entertaining (usually arguments or violence). She’s like a front-row seat to the action for him!

- While Grace carries on with her day (at school in this case) during Blinky’s ‘passive’ influence, she will occasionally realize that she has been unconsciously doodling eyes all over her paper alongside the occasional Blinky ramble exposing her classmates’ secrets (which she promptly rips up and wishes she never saw in the first place.)

He will also sometimes push forward enough to very minorly take control and use Grace’s voice to speak for a moment. Typically it’s more of the same with him saying something ominous about knowing/seeing what someone has done and possibly taunting them about eventually being punished.

Her classmates are unphased because honestly, Grace is just kind of like that all of the time anyway.

- Blinky likes to mess with Grace by making her unintentionally cheat on tests. He knows that oddly, the things that get to her the most are the little things that challenge her specific morals rather than the blatant violence he might enact to mess with others. While writing tests, Blinky will flash images of the answer sheet in her mind before Grace is able to think of the answer on her own so that now it’s impossible for her to get the answers wrong and thus she is wracked with guilt for having an unfair advantage over her classmates.

- Blinky will constantly try to influence Grace into snooping through her friends' things or just generally invade others’ privacy. Often he does this by filling her head with all kinds of distrustful thoughts: telling her that they’re hiding things from her, that they're talking behind her back, that they stole something from her, that they’re going down the wrong path, etc. Anything to make her stick her nose where it doesn’t belong. If she’s kind of zoned out, he’ll sometimes subtly influence her into walking within earshot of private conversations so that she overhears things that she shouldn’t know.

Grace has now taken to holding her hands very tightly clasped behind her back while in others’ homes because it makes it easier to avoid the temptation to rifle through things that are none of her business.

- Blinky is a huge gossip (a bit of a lighthearted word for an eldritch god but it suits him!) and he specifically is the one who (very gleefully) directs Grace toward her victims. He’s always in her ear telling her about the sins of her peers and giving suggestions as to which “dirty dude” she should go after next.

- Oddly, I feel like Blinky has a little bit of a soft spot for Grace compared to the other humans that he’s encountered but that doesn’t mean he won’t mess with her. Because of this, Blinky tells Grace what people say about her behind her back. Part of this is because he wants to hurt her, but part of him also wants her to know so that she can stick up for herself and get revenge (plus there’s the added bonus of it being free entertainment for him!).

When he’s having a rare moment of empathy, he will simply inform her of the sins of the person who was saying nasty things about her and encourage her to use the Black Book on them without ever disclosing that they were saying anything about her.

- Grace is the most paranoid about Blinky out of all of the LIB. She’s not necessarily afraid of him, but she is constantly aware that he could be watching her, especially when she’s doing something that she thinks is wrong or sinful (even if it wouldn’t actually phase him at all) and she is afraid that he will use this information against her or tell others.

He lets her continue to think this way because it gives him greater power over her but realistically, he would not want to betray her trust in this way and risk his most powerful asset becoming disobedient/disloyal to him.

One more silly one to end on!

- Blinky constantly wants to antagonize Bill when Grace sees him at church but she has set that as a hard ‘no’ boundary because she refuses to be disrespectful to ‘a good churchgoing Christian’ like Bill.

She’s nice to him at church!! She can’t lose that!

That's all I've got rn but this was very fun!

Anyone can feel free to send me asks about hcs :D I definitely have a bias toward Grace-related hcs (including stuff like this where it’s her dynamic with another character) bc my brain is rotted for her, but I’m willing to try others if someone wanted that :)

ok I keep really wanting to analyze hatchetfield themes but literally what are the lords in black?? like from a storytelling standpoint why these five? what do these motifs come together to create? when you are designing a pantheon of malevolent deities, why do you choose these guys?

I think we all seem to start with Nibbly when analyzing because he has the clearest main motif (and also the most interesting imo) so maybe it's a seven deadly sins thing, and Nibbly is greed

but if it's deadly sins then why are there five of them? like maybe Wiggly is both greed and pride? and they took out envy? or something? it just doesn't make sense to me, even though seven deadly sins was one of the first things that came to mind

well let's consider Blinky then, because he also has a very clear main motif. maybe it's meant to be the five senses! Nibbly is taste and Blinky is sight, in accordance with their main features. then, Pokey can be hearing, because of the whole singular voice thing. and I guess Wiggly is touch, which is kind of a reach but that can be like consumerism or something... but then Tinky fucking ruins it! bc how is that fucker smell? what does he do that is smelly?

so back to square one I guess. maybe let's start from Wiggly this time, he is kinda the main guy. he's also very green! maybe it's a color thing? ignoring the fact that there's the wrong number of them (there being 6 colors in the rainbow), let's explore this theory

green is definitely characterized by jealousy and greed, which would fit the capitalism thing he's got going on. and Nibbly is pink, which is just red, which can represent passion, which kind of fits. blue for Pokey is like inspiration and imagination so.. theater? that fits I guess. Yellow is excitement, which definitely fits Tinky. Blinky is both purple and orange, and purple is like independence, dignity, and royalty? I'm kinda shoving the puzzle pieces together here but maybe it's like royalty sitting on the throne and.. like.. watching people? and the orange is for.. enthusiasm. because he watches people with enthusiasm. It sort of fits, but only if I force it.

maybe there's not really a pattern going on, but like what is the deal with these guys? like two of them have animal symbolism (Nibbly and Tinky being pigs and goats respectively) but then Pokey is like goo and masks and musical theater, and Blinky is all eyeballs, and Wiggly is sort of like... the system of capitalism? It's a mess. A masterful mess, don't get me wrong, but a mess nonetheless.

If anyone has more info or perhaps more coherent theories let me know, I'm kinda going crazy over here.

ok so I was making a fake scenario in my head and accidentally made up a Crossover where TMNT, Tales of Arcadia gang and Transformers accidentally meet while trying to fight or idk but I’m just thinking they meet in some alley way after trying to hide away from the public

Like, they just fought off sum evil ppl and people come to the spot where they fought off and they run to hide somewhere and they just see eachother and they’re gonna be just like "OH HEY! THIS IS A COSPLAY! YEAH WE WERE JUST DOING OUR NORMAL HUMAN THING" expect the transformers who just say "it’s a illusion it’s in yo head" smt like that and yeah

Also It’s transformers armada, the teenage mutant turtles movie just right after they defeated krang and got Leo w/ them and where trollmarket haven’t got taken over n Vendel is still alive just like probabavvabably it’s a few episodes in the series and yeah

I bet that both Donnie and red alert would talk about technology while Donnie ask questions abt it and show off his inventions to him and both of the gangs. I mean both of them. I mean Donnie would yk show his mystic power and show his mystic guns?? In the movie or something simple like probably "hey I’ll show u a purple gun rq here 🔫" and red alert would tell him to stOp before he accidentally shoots and leave the base with a hole

Then we have Leo with Hotshot/Sideswipe or Jetfire and the wingman’s (if u don’t know it’s Toby n Arrrrgh ehe) They all would probably talk and show off how superior r they. Probably Leonardo would show his mystic power and make a portal while Toby just show how daMn light or heavy is the mf hammer but at some point Jim comes in with the sword of daylight and accidentally attracts Leo and Jetfire w/ the bro bots wouldddd probably show off their blasting or aiming skills and Hotshot would ask Jolt to get his aft here so they can superlink together and show off the cannons

Blinky would ask Optimus abt transformers history and sometimes cut him off to say abt of troll history or Vendel would also talk to scavenger abt the transformers war or smt plus Draal with Blurr they would probably exchange tactics or smt more of battling?? But it’s only probably serious things

Ah yes then we the humans with their size robots and another human with a teleporting dogcAt? and a Wizard with a chef boy with a magical sword. They all would probably talk abt their friends first before themselves but I bet Jim would talk how a mf oldass Wizard made a amulet and choose people to give trauma until they die and sometimes Claire would cut in to say abt Morgana and how she stole her damn wand thing

The tf humans talks how they found the transformers and still blames themselves how they accidentally start a war again and stills feel guilt abt it, they hug their robot friends or hold their hands while talking abt them and they hold their hand back

April would be last bc she is busy on the phone until they say "what about u??" and basically talks how dum r the turtles before she talked how they found Mayhem and hidden city and how Donnie fucked them up into jail bc of science and moogic and says how a evil mutant lives on top of her apartment and made the evil mutant work as a lunch lady and basically works a lot but always gets fired yk

The turtles basically says that they were made by the evil mutant that April mentioned but they’re dad is a rat but he was human and was a actor and knows how to beat mutant asses

Basically that’s what I have and it’s a first time I made this so bye🏃🏼‍♀️

anyways i think midoriya just needs a chance to go a bit wild, you know? like let him be feral. i think playing max would be kinda therapeutic for him. also i can see him just KILLING "literal monster" and "nerdy prudes must die". i think he and denki would act off each other really well, and sam with midoriya and aoyama!!!

ojirou and shaprio just have similar vibes you know? like the only human in a muppet movie. anyways i just think ojirou would do well :) and iida as mayor lauter... do i need to explain??? i just think he would both be SO GOOD and also SO FUNNY!!! like... the phone and hammer scene?? he and jirou would KILL it!!!

kirishima and sero as jason and kyle was one of the first things i thought of. they are perfect for those roles. i mean... can't you just Hear kirishima going: "we're all giving the butt slaps / with consent of course cause we care"??? and sero as dan reynolds is just funny to me. "i am dan reynolds... with action news, week days at 10pm" - they would KILL it!!!

tsu has the vibes of someone who doesn't really want a big role, so i think bryce's nerd and bryce's reporter would be great roles for her! she gets her moment, but also she isn't like always in it, you know?

tokoyami as wiggly... i mean,,, come on,,, also he's a theatre kid, so he had to get one of the bbq monologue guys. he got mariah by default lol

forgive me for giving uraraka like... all of kim's roles lol i just think she'd be great! i think she would absolutely slay the: "he roars and we cry / he's the reason with no why"!!! and i think she and iida would work well together as tessburger and lauter!!! also... yes, nibbly bc pink but also bc she will kill it okay

i don't think shinsou, kouda, shouji, and todoroki would want big roles. i think shinsou as blinky bc purple but also he'd be amazing, and i feel like he could really pull off emma tbh. donna doesn't really speak much, so i think kouda would like that. i think they'd just rather be in ensemble/working backstage most of the time. shouji would be a fun pokey, i think, and would look DOPE in the makeup and costume!!! i also think him saying that the bbq monologues was "f-ing transcendent" would be fantastic. todoroki as paul is a given, i mean... come on. i think he'd be really funny as mark, especially with the whole "you don't say... you don't say... etc..." iuyftrdtgyuio also. "family". iugytfrdftgyhuijo

then hagakure would KILL brenda and i think she would be the BEST kaen chasity. i genuinely believe that with my entire heart. i think she would LOVE accusing sero of "selling drugs to our children / we know they loves killing!"

i think satou as joey's bbq guy is pretty self-explanatory, but like. he would KILL IT OMG!!! and then okay yes he as tinky bc yellow but also bc he would slay. i also think he'd be a funny boy jerry oigfdghijk

and ofc most everyone who isn't a lead is ensemble. since npmd has a smaller cast, most of 1a would be in ensemble and would be in songs like "high school is killing me" and "literal monster", etc...

just farting around on here! doing some silly pixels for fun. i also finally made some temp buttons for my site. and blinkies! woo!

irl: tried doing my roots & retouching my pink myself this week. don't do this -_-;; it was more expensive than just going to the school where i usually do it!! and i dont like it! im neon. aaaaa!!! i wanted to try giving myself a paler/cooler color bc the school refuses to use purple to cancel out the yellow @w@ anyway, i'm tempted to go cool blonde next while im bleached, hmm!

doing a litle xmas shopping here and there. the kitties got a window perch, they're loving watching the birds next door. its so hard to get out of bed these days though, its too cold! im cranky >:(

Tales of Arcadia Characters + Masks

Jim: A light blue one to match his sweater/jeans (and the daylight armor)

Claire: A purple one to match her clothes and her shadowy armor

Toby: One with a monster mouth on it

Aja and Krel: Matching neon blue ones

(Krel didn't see why they should wear them because they can't get sick or carry the virus)

("We don't need to wear these. We akiridions not even at risk of being carriers!" "Are you not worried we'll be mistaken for one of these...... republicans?" "...no aja I'm not.")

Strickler: Avocado green to match his true form (he thinks he's clever for it. He's the only one who thinks so.)

Nomura: Magenta for the same reasons as Strickler or Purple to match her usual outfit as a human

They're both immune/can't carry like aja and krel but they have jobs as humans (strickler teaching at a school/nomura speaking at museums) and wear them so they're not suspected as changelings (or worse - anti-maskers)

Blinky and AAARRRGGHH!!!: staying in trollmarket/out of public anyway so they don't really worry about it. They'd wear matching ones as humans though :)

Douxie: Either...

1.) Plain Black/Dark Blue

2.) Got a punk design on it (or a skull)

3.) Custom made with ADP's logo on it 4.) Galaxy Print (don't ask me why)

If it's dark blue... then it matches with Zoe bc hers is pink :) cotton candy

Nari: Green with a floral print :)

Like the Tarrons and the Changelings, she can't catch/carry anything, but she does need a mask to keep up her disguise as she poses as a human

Merlin: Doesn't wear one because as soon as things started getting bad he went down for a years-long nap and gave Douxie permission to thwack anti-maskers with his spellcaster guitar

If he does have to be awake in the pandemic his mask has very tiny text that says "If you can read this, you're too close. Back up."

Also thwacks anti-maskers with his staff because you can't convince me that Merlin "The Greater Good Is The Most Important Thing Ever (Second Only To My Son)" Ambrosius wouldn't see people going "but masks are uncomfortable 😫 there's a 99% survival rate anyway 😎 if you don't like that I don't wear a mask stay home" and just give their heads a real good ~bonk~ (ty merlin)

Not so much a Shadow!Paul question as it is a question about the shadow people/lost souls in general, but what with Paul being naturally inclined to music due to being claimed by Pokey, what traits do the souls claimed by the OTHER Lords in Black have? I've come up with some ideas of my own (one of which led to me imagining that a hypothetical Shadow!Emma would be claimed by Blinky bc of my own personal theories abt Emma but that's not important), but since it's YOUR AU, I figured I should ask. Also, just out of curiosity, are the eye colors of the shadow people based on their eye color from before they died, or which Lord in Black claimed them?

the eye colors are based on the lords in black they're claimed by! as are certain Other appearance traits, though they can vary. all the shadow beasts have more human-esque forms but a lot of the older ones end up taking animal shapes instead, typically also influenced by the lord that claimed them. creepy, uncanny animal shapes that if you look at closely for too long you can tell something's Up (I like to think this is part of the reason there's very little info or theories on them too, a lot of them just look like animals at first glance so they're harder to spot)

as for traits like the music draw, Pokey shadows are also a little more inclined to want company. Paul is. stubborn in this regard when it comes to others in the woods but clearly he has his own exceptions djskfjs

I think Wiggly shadows are the most prone to rage and being territorial. they're super aggressive and they're hoarders - if you ever drop or lose something in the woods, chances are a green-eyed shadow's snatched it up and either wears it or has it in a cave somewhere. they just. aimlessly want and take for reasons beyond what they're aware of

Blinky shadows are observers, of course. they're the ones most likely to be seen, I think, even if people don't have direct encounters they've probably unknowingly spotted sets of purple eyes watching them from the trees. they're very drawn to conflict, a pair of campers in an argument have definitely seen them around, just watching. the more malevolent ones actively try to start shit so groups will split up and they can try and snag a new soul

Tinky shadows are fast. they move like they're always running out of time, they're the ones least likely to be seen beyond a glimpse, I think. they also tick like a clock, they never picked up that sound from anywhere it just comes naturally. they tend to be people who had a lot of regrets in life so it's something they can sense, they may be the hardest to spot but when they're around people tend to get real anxious about time. they also have horns! or antlers it can depend!

we know nothing about Nibbly so I'm not touching that beyond his shadows have MASSIVE fangy grins at all times. that's unsettling enough

As for how I thought of the theatre bit,,, I don't totally remember? I know I came up with the specific idea of Emma being kidnapped and forced onstage at the Drowsy Town Theatre while Paul is made to watch for that "Emma gets a Summer job at Watcher World" fic concept I mentioned I wanted to write. I think I used That Idea Specifically because I needed a spooky set piece that wasn't Blinky's Funhouse, and the theater was the one that provided the most interesting ideas.

The theater scene is a big favorite of mine too! Fun fact, there was one point a few months ago where I considered writing like a collection of "DTfiles Bad Ending" scenarios, which were alternate versions of the major chapters in which Paul and Emma,,, didn't make it out okay. Either dead, or gravely altered in some way. I wrote a shortened version of one of these ideas for a writing prompt a hot while back, in which Paul strangles Emma over the Wiggly doll (though in the written version that was just a nightmare). I ended up not going through with writing them bc they would've been too heavy and distressing for me to write.

Point is, I have thought up an alternate version of the theater scene in which Emma does not find a way to trick Blinky into untying her, and thus, is punished for spitting in his eye. It would've ended with Emma's face being horribly mutilated as she's hypnotized into being an obedient servant of Blinky. With her mouth being forced into this big, uncanny valley smile, and her now-purple eyes practically bulging out of her head. I had a very vivid image of her in my head, and I affectionately dubbed her Blinky!Emma before I nixed the idea of writing the bad ending collection.

Juliet Dies in This: OG version

So while cleaning out my Google Docs, I found an earlier version of Juliet Dies in This. It was last modified on September 2, 2018, almost a year before I finally got around to writing and publishing the first chapter of the fic.

Here is the original outline:

Depression: Jim’s lost his entire life, but before the Eternal Night he had started to make some sort of fragile peace with it. Now he’s lost Claire.

Anger: Dealing with other officials after a city-wide disaster is stressful enough when your daughter wasn’t a casualty. Ophelia’s daughter was.

Denial: Mary calls Claire for help with homework, only to remember that Claire is dead.

Acceptance: Aja and Krel weren’t replacing Jim and Claire, but the Reckless Club needed to move on with their lives. AKA this is 3Below.

Bargaining: More than a year ago, Toby had destroyed the Shadow Staff and destroyed the bridge to the Shadow Realm, trapping Claire inside. A portal is opened nonetheless. AKA this is Wizards.

Celebration of Life: Claire had been trapped in the Shadow Realm for more than a year; her eyes were black and purple and there were permanent black cracks stained onto her body and the large wings she had grown. She was quieter, and obviously tired. However, she was alive.

So this originally would’ve taken longer, and Claire’s death would have been more-or-less a flashback than have an entire chapter devoted to it. However, in the time between making this forgotten outline and writing the first actual chapter, all of 3Below aired, hence proving that there’d be a tighter plot structure than what little I had planned. In addition, I did research into the effects of solitary confinement, and it gets worse the longer it is. While I am downplaying the effects of solitary confinement due to a combination of Claire desperately wanting to live in spite of Morgana as well as her magic protecting her against physical side effects, if she had to deal with it for over a year I would feel compelled to make the side effects worse than I’d feel comfortable writing.

Also, the wings were ditched bc it was too similar to Telling Dreams from One Another (another “Claire gets trapped in the Shadow Realm” au that I’ve written) and I’m not as much of a fan of the fairy!Claire theory as I was then.

As a final parting note for this piece of bonus content, have this original version of the Depression chapter (under the cut). This version of the chapter had no references to suicide, but it did deal with some dissociation (derealization/depersonalization) as well as some other symptoms of depression.

It was six AM and Jim couldn’t sleep. It was funny; back when he was human there was almost nothing more appreciated than getting to sleep past six. Now that he couldn’t go out in the daylight he couldn’t bring himself to sleep for more than half an hour, and yet the constant ache in his eyes told him that he needed to. He supposed it was more of the long nights spent protecting Arcadia with Blinky, AAARRRGGHH!!!, Toby, and — and the others that kept him from passing out than whatever had been done to his physiology. Maybe he no longer needed to sleep a full eight hours now that he was half troll, but he was exhausted from fighting and then walking. All of the other trolls (or, at least full trolls) were performing various tasks and sleeping in eight-minute-long shifts, but Jim was on an unofficial “guard duty” watching the entrance to the cave they were staying in. More specifically, he was staring at the point where sunlight hit the shadows, only moving away when it started to get too close for comfort.

Was he really even living? Jim didn’t even know if he could fulfill most of the requirements for counting as a living organism that were in his mom’s old biology textbook. He used energy and would react to stimuli, yes, but he wasn’t sure if he was entirely carbon based, and slightly over a week wasn’t enough time to learn if he could grow and reproduce. It didn’t matter, because Jim didn’t feel alive. He had been living in a constant haze ever since he saw Draal fall and cross his arms over his chest, and it had gotten worse after he had stepped into the bathtub. He had thought that the haze was thick and stifling, like when there had been fires when he was in the first grade and his class wasn’t allowed to go outside for recess because ash was raining down on the playground.

If the haze had been stifling then, it now choked him. He felt like he was constantly oscillating between overwhelming anger, sorrow, and numbness. Could he even oscillate between more than two points? Blinky or, no, Blinky would know. Jim couldn’t bring himself to move his body to go ask him, though.

He didn’t have to because the four-armed troll walked up to him minutes later. “Master Jim, you don’t need to stand guard so close to the entrance. The sun is rising.”

“It’s not fair,” Jim said, wrapping his arms further around himself and tucking his legs closer to his chest.

“What isn’t fair?” Some part of Jim that wasn’t overwhelmed by emotions that could have powered the Shadow Staff (or the irreverent lack of any emotions at all) was thankful that Blinky didn’t immediately assume that he was complaining about his inability to walk in the daylight. It would have been so much easier if the worst of his problems was regret over deciding to halfway change his species.

“Why am I still alive when, when Draal and, and,” Jim struggled to say. Was his armor (armor that still refused to come off) getting tighter around his chest and throat? Why couldn’t he breathe?

Blinky’s gentle touch to his shoulder made Jim explode into too-long limbs and tears that weren’t due to his arm touching sunlight. “I took that hit so you guys could live! When I gave up my humanity, it was so you guys would live. Not so that Claire could go jump into a portal and, and…”

“No matter what you are, I love you.”

Jim growled at the memory of her voice. He hadn’t told her that he loved her back. Not on the roof, and not during that time while they were waiting for the Eternal Night to fall. Definitely not when he should have, back when they were still human. He should have told her as soon as he had realized he couldn’t bear to live without her, when he had taken hold of the staff as it had threatened to tear her apart in the gyre station.

He had been so afraid that she was going to die back then, even when they had made it to safety and her body rested in AAARRRGGHH!!!’s arms. She wasn’t dead, she was just eternally missing in action. There had been a memorial for Claire before they had left for New Jersey, not a funeral. Or rather, there had been two memorials, but in one of them she was one of the many victims Arcadia Oaks had lost in the tragedy that had been required to introduce them to their underground neighbors, and in the other a sixteen-year-old girl who had achieved nearly perfect grades, saved the world, worn an absurd amount of hair clips, and rocked out to Papa Skull wasn’t lowered into the ground even though her casket was.

“You’re not the only one allowed to make sacrifices, and acting like you are is disrespecting Claire’s memory.”
