More actor!AU headcanons for RWBY, continuing off from part 1

• much of Ruby's blowup took shape the day of shooting. Jaune wrote the episode with some of her edits and she was hitting it, but something felt off to both of them+the director. she eventually was like, "hey, this feels like a speech, right?" and it clicked for all 3 of them. It couldn’t be a speech, it had to be rambling, like she was angry and finally let it out. With that in mind, she nailed it in two takes

• to go along with that: J+R's argument was improv'd. Jaune generally wrote "they have a fight," and they kicked ideas back and forth over text. There's a version shot where she hits him at the end, but they pulled back cuz it didn't feel like Ruby

• training for the RWBY/AO fight of V7 was done in the same room as ORNJ v Neo, and sometimes Nora would heckle them (or Ruby/Harriet doing the heckling). One time Nora and Jaune did fighting game commentary and made Weiss burst out laughing as she hit Marrow w her play sword

• from V2-onwards there's at least one point in the season, usually towards the very end, where Blake just takes her ears home with her and doesn't even realize it until she's halfway back to her place.

• Ren had to braid his hair in V7+8 because it kept blowing in his face during 5+6, and he also lost a bet with Yang

• as each season is airing, the gang texts Weiss video compilations they find online of her eating shit, and she saves them on a playlist for when she's feeling sad

• Neo+Ruby took acting classes together and were actually good friends. Ahead of V9's back half, Neo texted Ruby saying "I'm gonna fuck you up" and Ruby said, "yaaaaaaaay :D"

• Pyrrha shot her V9 scenes+her RWBY/JL cameo in the same day, and was utterly geeked to find out she got to emotionally devastate her good friend and her boyfriend hours apart from each other

(J: the morning before shooting, she texted me, “I’ll ruin your day later babe! Kbyeeeeeee”

P: *nods while smiling*)

• Jaune tried to do his best to grow out his hair and beard for Old Man Jaune to make it easier on the makeup dept. they eventually had to get a beard because his wasn't properly "old" in time for shooting

• reading her segments of V9's back half made Ruby cry. She showed up to Summer's scenes and cried harder, and they got a picture together. Yang also got one w summer+raven individually, then all of them+Tai

• RWBY's mirror convos were shot as such: first, they'd do the scene in their current outfits, then again in their old ones. One of the other girls would stand in as the other version

• Nora turned out to be pregnant towards the end of V8's shooting, which kinda prompted her being on Vacuo side of things/her+Ren not being in 9 p much at all

• the scene where the Paper Pleasers "die" and Jaune goes "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" had to be reshot like 3 times because Yang broke and cackled at his anguish over paper people

RWBY Volume 10: 100 characters

Kerry joked that Volume 10 would have 100 characters

It’s a contrast to volume 9 smaller cast that focused on RWBYJ and the ever-after characters like Little/Somewhat, The Cat, Blacksmith, and so on

So my attempt at trying to count the 100 characters lol

I can make some leaps of faith with a character like Ciel appearing

And the books went over some of CFVY’s and SSSN’s family members like Velvet’s dad

I haven’t read the books so I know there are some original characters but I don’t know if they are still alive or not, or just one-off characters like the video game characters

And the Summer Maiden is also one but there’s a chance it could be someone we already know, and connected is the relic and the genie that resides in it which will be its own character

So if I stretch with those thanks to the wiki that’s an extra 23 (novel), and 3 (Ciel, Sword Genie, and Summer Maiden)

Making that 77 characters…

Then potentially new characters like maybe Theodore has his own potential Ace Ops like team

If Raven maybe she brings her tribe with her

Maybe they would retcon a team like CRDL deaths from the novels to add some more characters

Plus beacon characters like Glynda, Port, Oobleck, the unseen Peach

And white fang characters like Ghira, Kali, Ilia

Maybe even Adam’s still alive lol

The brothers and ever after characters cameo

Neo comes back after ascending, who knows

But yeah I generally got 50-ish characters as characters like Tai Yang is a stretch and the novel family members are nice and if they are there I can’t imagine more than one scene or episode with them but otherwise might be a waste of resources to make models and give voices for them

I imagine it’ll be a lot of old characters like Sun and Velvet filling the extra cast spots as the Atlas cast even with Ironwood, Watts and Jacques, Vine and Clover's death is a large cast

Others I can see not at all or pushed to Volume 11 or 12

Character Gets Kidnapped: Oscar by Hound/Salem

New Swear: Emerald “pissed”, episode 11. I would get in trouble if I said it in front of my mother so it is a swear I do not take criticism

Enter the Whale: Oscar was taken into the Whale by Salem, JRY, episode 9

Talking about Growth an/or Strength: Nora saying that Yang is strong enough to protect everyone. Jaune’s growth since cheating into Beacon. Nora wanting to grow on her own away from Ren

Getting Mad over Secrets: Cinder pissed at Neo for using her, Salem when she finds out that Cinder lied to her lmao good luck girl

Weapon Breaks: One of Penny’s swords gets SNATCHED (breaking the string), episode 3, Blake’s ribbon, Jaune’s sword in ep 14

10 Things I'm looking forward to in RWBY's Volume 5.

1: Team RWBY meeting up again. They've all done some growing, so seeing their re-connection and reconciliation will be pretty interesting.

2: Oscar and Qrow. Our little farmhand's growing up fast, so he gets to meet the larger group! Also PROBABLY forms a friendship with Ruby much like Qrow with Ozpin.

3: Cinder's purpose established. While it probably won't pay off until V6, we're likely going to learn why Salem needed Cinder to jump through so many hoops for a flamethrower.

4: NEO! This one's purely a guess, but it's been a volume since her last appearance. Atlas is too tight, Vacuo too industrial, so she probably ended up here. Fun times!

5: JN_R moving forward. Nora and Ren seem to have taken some pretty big steps forward, so I'm expecting this to be the volume they try and redefine themselves.

6: SSSN reunion. Because we're in Mistral, yo! Hometown of the Sun Wukong Crew! Let Sage and Scarlet get time to step up! And perhaps giving Sun some development outside of Blake? Please?

7: Pyrrha's hometown. Pyrrha went to Vale, but Mistral's her hometown. So we're probably going to get to meet her family, and give EVERYONE some closure with her.

8: ABRN cameo/apperance! Yeah, remember the lovely lion gal, glowstick hoverboarder, the ones RWBY fought in the first round? Those guys. This is their turf too, so say hi!

9: Mid-Boss: White Fang. With Sienna Khan about in Mistral, it's likely Blake's gonna get the chance to tangle with some WF fools. Probably only setting up the boss lady, though we might get to see her tangle with Adam. Whether she wins or loses, this sets the stage for a final rumble with bull-boy. Get hype.

10: Level-End Boss: Watts! Our grand finale for the volume is most likely going to be the wicked and mustached gunslinger himself, dueling for the fate of the school. It'll be another taste of Salem's power, and this time with a foe who both is right where he wants to be, and has had time to set up in advance. We're getting one hell of a fight, and I doubt Qrow will be the deciding factor this time.
