“That time period that we looked that way, the Set The World On Fire era that everyone kind of attaches to, the ‘Fallen Angels’ video—that was actually a shorter time period than even the way that the band has currently looked. But that was such a distinctive image and it was so different from what else was happening that it became the all-encompassing image for the band. And that's fine with me, because I still stand behind it. People go, 'Oh, isn't it ridiculous that you used to [wear makeup]', and... no. For what that was, that was the style for what that band was.”

#LIKE #i’m not saying you can’t miss the STWOF era and prefer the heavier makeup aesthetic that’s fine i’m not tryna police anyone’s tastes #but it annoys me when people act as though they totally abandoned the look they had before and are now this clean-cut cookie-cutter outline #of every other peer band in the scene #the makeup still factors HEAVILY into the design of their aesthetic for each era and is still a cornerstone of the band’s image #andy still regularly wears makeup in both his solo project stuff and ESPECIALLY black veil stuff #just because he cut his hair and opts for a different vibe doesn’t mean he’s ‘glowed down’ it just means he’s decided to evolve and adapt #the look that he had some variation of for like six years... #bvb talk #you can reblog i just don’t want beef lol #i didn’t get every instance of him wearing makeup post-STWOF obviously that’s too much work #and i was going for more recent instances #also the scarlet cross makeup is a bit more subtle obviously but it’s still pretty visible
