#i neeeeed fig to go indie it’s her destiny #she promises each of them that she’ll dedicate at least one song to them and then dedicates a track to each of them individually #sklondas seething a tiny bit that she called riz the ball but he won’t stop playing it so it keeps getting stuck in her head #adaine summons mephits to help with her track #you can hear her in the background near the end yelling ‘yeah!’ and ‘fuck off!’ #fabian wanted his to sound like a shanty but fig said it wouldn’t go with the vibe of the album #they eventually compromised by having the noise of waves and seagulls subtly in the background throughout #kristen actually cried the first time fig played the ballad of lucy frostblade for them #summer scaries sounds like an olivia rodrigo song #gorgug gets a sick drum solo in raging for love #time quangle opens with fire crackling and a bird cawing and a quiet clip of ayda saying ‘I love you’ before the instrumental starts #fig stuck a quiet sound clip of gilear saying ‘oh fuck’ and then a louder sound clip of her saying ‘oh fuck!’ in cursed #devils nectar is one of the slower tracks on the album #hall of mirrors is heavily inspired by the events at evil mordred and baron so you can hear a lot of influences from baronesian music in it #fig has a fucking sick as hell guitar solo and a couple of samples from just the bottomless pit in general in infaethable #Gorthalax also gets some lyrical input on it #fig manages to get a clip of riz saying ‘the ball bitch!’ to kalvaxus in freshman year to put in fury of the ball #is this too long for an album? maybe but who cares I love this #a good portion of the profits made from the album goes towards college for the party #having thoughts about fig and the cig fig’s Junior year album #autism (mads) speaks #fantasy high #fhjy #fig faeth #fantasy high junior year #dimesnion 20 #d20 fantasy high #fig and the cig figs

#the perfect albums. perfect perfect perfect albums #anyone want a mini rant about these albums? let's go #it's just pure perfection pure talent. no hiding behind flashy loud production. it's just a few instruments and good fucking lyrics #perfect melodies. taylor gets to play with her voice and do whatever she wants with it AND ACTUALLY LET IT SHOW THAT IT'S GOOD #you get what im saying? there are no high notes nothing of that but still her voice sounds the best it ever has in these albums #the songs are simple. but also they're not. the instruments are simple the singing is simple but also NOT AT ALL #she's not TRYING to show anything in these two albums. trying to prove something to achieve something you know? it makes perfect sense to me #it's simple talent that's just it. not hidden behind anything big but still there's NOTHING small or insignificant about these albums #i hope she goes back to that sound some time in the future. it's ok if she wants to do pop now more than ok #but it would be such a shame & wasted opportunity if she never goes back to that genre. it's perfect ideal for her. her best works

listening to the hackney diamonds live “album” [those like 7 songs that they recorded live] and it’s honestly so jarring how much better the new material is without the horrific production, like truly just astounded the production of the album was so horrible that a group of 80 year old men just fucking around on stage sounds so much better ? you’d think it’d be the other way around but alas andrew watt seems to be in a competition with himself to see how horrendous he can make an album sound via production

#i like the album and all but i had to train my ears to not hear the production which is… not good #the first listen i tried not to let it effect my thoughts on the actual music but it was very hard to ignore #like my heart dropped when the first line of keith’s song came on and he sounded SO autotuned #i think it’s a fine album #good turn your brain off stones music #not like as good or as bad as other albums #but that production is so horrific #it sounds really good live which i guess is what matters since that’s what you really really pay to see #but like andrew watt really fucked it up in the studio #which sucks ! because this is proof that you really do not need to be doing all that #and i’ve said a few times but it should not have been *that* obvious keith wasn’t behind the boards at all #like him and mick produce in a way you barely notice and so having so much production made it so bad 😭 #tired of andrew watt is a savior narrative because he really dropped the ball and im terrified for him to do new music with other artists #tbh #it’s really really…. mmmm #also if the stones release another album with the hackney outtakes they better not go with watt again #he deserves to be locked in a closet

#song of the day #'someone protect me from the one I love' looping in my head #this is another fun song to sing. who comes up with lines like 'my body is a temple of doom / doomed not to be / by your side' #I have to admit also for all that some of my favorite people are very guitar people I do not have an ear for it #so the Wombats like Greta Van Fleet and a couple others sound like older bands to me. very very surprised to find this song is from 2015 #I mentioned the other day that I usually have an origin story for most of the songs I know because mostly I get them from specific places #recommendations and curated playlists and such #and partially that really helps my memory for songs! they all come with strong associations! self-creating mnemonics! #but also it really skews my perception of when songs are from and how popular they are #the other day I played a song for Nick that I thought he'd like #and I did tell him that I thought it was probably a cover because a lot of the other songs on the playlist were #and he looked at me like I was truly stupid and he said 'it's definitely a cover. because that is a Taylor Swift song' #and I was genuinely just like neat! good to know! #I did listen to the original and I do think I like the cover better but my taste is so specific and scattered that it means nothing #I also apparently heard Sleep Token's new album right as it came out in a way that impressed Nick by like #how cutting-edge my metal knowledge was I guess. hipster-style immediate knowledge of the new release. before it was cool etc #and I had to be like nah bro it was a fic title I googled I get no credit for this. also I didn't know the band existed before this album #there's no way I was looking for the new release. the song the album and the band all just came into being before me simultaneously #this ramble is really long now and I feel like y'all get the point #the Wombats are cool though
