Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles liveblog reaction

Just a little over a minute into the movie and Barbara Gordon stops some shuriken with nothing more than a filing folder. Awesome.

Not going to lie, when I first saw a clip from this movie on Youtube, I had no idea that Batman was being played by Troy Baker and not the late Kevin Conroy. I'm looking forward to how he plays The Joker in this movie.

These heavily stylized intro credits, man. Absolutely in love. The music also fucking slaps.

Is it bad that I genuinely like Leonardo carrying his katana on his belt rather than his back like in most iterations? I know it makes him look more samurai than ninja, but it looks so badass.

I love that the Penguin is only mildly perturbed at discovering he's being attacked by mutant turtles.

"It's always the time for accuracy, Leo." If I don't see that line pop up in another TMNT iteration, I'm rioting.

I had to avoid hooting and hollering when some blood finally showed up. LET MY ANIMATED TMNT BOYS BE BLOODY!

"It's a sword-brella too? I think I love this little guy!" MIKEY

SHREDDER JUST KILLED ONE OF HIS OWN GUYS <- Less shocked that it happened and more shocked that it happened explicitly on-screen

I love that the Turtles' battle with Penguin was full of goofy wise quips whereas Batman's battle with the Foot + Shredder is 100% serious with very little dialogue to speak of

Mikey is gonna spend this movie fanboying over all the stuff in Gotham, isn't he?

Ah, so this is one of the iterations where Baxter Stockman was turned into a mutant fly? He's also surprisingly polite. (I'm used to him being more self-centered and egotistical.)

"So he wears a Dracula costume and punches clowns. Who cares?! Dirtbag stole my sai!" "Dracula costume? What kind of Dracula movies are you watching?" SJGKDFJGKFDHJKGH

I am loving how Leonardo and Raphael were characterized for this movie. I'm kinda wishy-washy towards Donatello and Michelangelo.

The shots where the turtles are silhouettes with the only colored parts being the masks * chef kiss *

Mikey is 100% fully aware that he is touching things that are not supposed to be touched.

"What are you, five?" Says Donatello before having his bo stolen by Robin. "Hey, little guy. We didn't come here to fight," says Leonardo before Robin beats his kneecaps.

I keep forgetting that most iterations have the turtles capable of partially or completely retracting inside their shells. (The 2003 series is one of the few iterations where they can't, although they might have if Peter Laird got his way.)

"So, are we not going to beat up these green losers?" "It's not looking like it, no." Robin is literally a mini Raph.

Ra's al Ghul: * decapitates a security guard * Me: * proceeds to check the movie rating online * I'm sorry, it's only rated PG-13?!

God damn, this movie is literally what TMNT 2003 could have been if it didn't have to SOMEWHAT restrain itself so it could air on the 4Kids block.

Harley Quinn literally beckoned Shredder over to her cell just to check her makeup in his mask.

"I offer to cook a gourmet meal and they want pizza. Teenagers." To be fair, I'm one of the cheapest dates around. You could take me to Wendy's and I'd be happy.

"An immortal Shredder? That would... suck." Is someone gonna tell him?

"Calling me 'dude' is not helping your case, Master Michelangelo." It's worth noting that Alfred said his name how it's actually pronounced in Italian. Nice touch.

Donnie soothing Mikey by putting a slice of pizza in his mouth while patting his head. Weird, but oddly wholesome.

Okay, how the ever living FUCK is Troy Baker not only able to channel Kevin Conroy's performance as the Batman, but Mark Hamill's as the Joker?

Fucking Commissioner Gordon's reaction to the turtles just breathes "this might as well just happen at this point."

Harley Quinn being offended at Joker referring to her as "Nurse" instead of "Doctor," oh my god.

Even Batgirl and Robin are aware of how much of a downer Batman is.

Oh god, this bit where Scarecrow's fear gas makes Leonardo hallucinate his brothers being devoured by crows is absolutely brutal.

Is it bad that I think Donnie and Batgirl actually have quite a bit of chemistry?

Welp, Poison Ivy learned the hard way that being mutated into a giant Venus Fly Trap does not have its perks.

Mikey's reaction to Joker and Harley kissing with tongues was basically my reaction.

Okay, the reveal that combining the Joker Venom with the TCRI Ooze not only transforms you, but drives you mad is highkey disturbing. And Joker just injected Batman with it. Oh fucking shitnuggets.

Did Batman just kill Mr. Freeze?

Batgirl just proved that you CAN give your superheroes capes as long as they're detachable.

"You saved him... Thank you." * MIKEY GIVES ROBIN THE BIGGEST BEAR HUG * "Please stop!"

Mikey freaking out over Batman being Bruce Wayne, and Raph facepalming... god, I love these brothers.

Damn, Raph being the one to give Batman the talk about what a family is and how it works...

How is it that Robin and I had the same reaction to the Turtle Wagon in this movie. "Lame... OH FUCK, IT'S ACTUALLY AWESOME."

Did Donnie just take out the crane using manhole covers painted with pizza designs?

Donnie and Batgirl continue to bicker over calling the antidote "anti-ooze" or "retro-mutagen"

"Michelangelo, press some buttons." "I've always wanted to hit every button." Bruce, you need to be nicer to your child.

I'm 100% Ra's al Ghul took off his shirt just to show how muscular he is to Leo and Don.

"You... are a terrible disappointment." I feel like that's something Shredder wanted to say to Stockman for a while.

RA'S AL GHUL JUST BROKE DONNIE'S ARM, THE FUCKER

God, this movie's climax is just the definition of TENSE

"Foolish child. I'm hundreds of years old, and have trained with the greatest teachers in history. How could you possibly--" IS KICKED IN THE BALLS. "Oh yeah? Well, I'm 16, and I learned this from a rat."

We literally have Mikey to thank for Gotham not becoming infested with feral mutants. He and Donnie are also saved from falling to their deaths by a combination of their turtle physiology and sheer dumb luck.

So, uh, is Shredder going to become crazy like The Joker now?

Movie ends with a pizza party in the Batcave just before the turtles head back to New York. Friggin wholesome.

These ending credits are so awesome

Why did I have to fucking right about Shredder becoming a second Joker? AND WHERE IS THE SEQUEL?

The Pizza Game (Chp 6)

Chapter 6: The Final Time

Summary:

[Inserts the first 5 minutes of the movie] :') Words: 1967

Leonardo had known it was over the second he got hit in the side.

The war was over even before that. It had probably been over the second their base of almost 15 years was destroyed. They had held onto hope that they could change things.

Leo still desperately held onto hope though.

Maybe if he could just get himself and Casey to Mikey, they could figure out something.

“Michelango! Meet at Location 19Tau NOW.” He shouted into his communicator and didn’t wait for a response.

His side throbbed in pain as he reached into his belt to pull out a stained and faded photo with creased and worn edges.

Little Casey Jones, who wasn’t so little anymore, fell to his knees next to Leo and pushed himself under one of Leo’s arms.

“Sensei! We’ve got to get out of here!” Casey shouted as he began to lift Leo.

“We need to get to Location 19Tau!”

Leo rose with Casey’s help, and guided the kid in the right direction.

Leo looked at the photo of his family again. At all the things he had lost in this damned war.

It was a little hard to focus with battle going on around them, and the throbbing pain of his wound making it difficult to run.

“I gotchya Sensei, stay with me!”

“Casey Jones, you’re a life saver.” Leo looked at the boy, knowing he had no idea just how true that statement was about to be.

“I learned from the best. Come on we’re almost there.”

Shit, the krangazoids were getting closer. The wound was slowing them both down.

Leo stumbled, and he was sure they were about to get jumped by the krang monsters.

“BAD DOGGIES!”

Glowing golden chains swiped the krang out of the air.

“Impeccable timing little brother. Very dramatic.” Michelangelo’s mystic powers never failed to impress him.

Mikey blasted the rest of the krang away, giving them a moment of breathing room.

“Help him Michelangelo, he’s hurt bad!” Casey pleaded after Leo was rested on the ground. His side throbbed again, and when he pulled his hand away it was covered in more blood than he expected.

Leo looked around at the hundreds of Krang that had taken over the battlefield, at the last bits of the resistance falling under the attack.

They had lost so much. April, their closest allies, and now almost all of the resistance was gone.

“That’s it. The resistance failed. The Krang won.” Leo hated to admit it.

There was just one last chance. One last little piece of hope. One thing that could possibly right all the wrongs. One last chance to save his family. One last chance to save everyone.

“But, but it isn’t over. We’ve still got a ninja’s greatest weapon. Hope.”

Leo turned to his little brother.

“That, and a Badass Mystic Warrior.”

They had come to the Very Last Resort.

“Mikey, when you tried to open a time gateway that one time. You said you were close, just how close did you say you were to actually making it?” Leo had asked.

“I mean…Not actually that close. It was taking a lot of energy to push back in time,” Mikey said trying to recall the experience, “I think I had technically made it to the time frame I wanted, But my gateway also wasn’t very big. I’m not sure how much more out of me it would have taken to get it big enough and to stay open. I don’t know if I would have had enough power to get it open.”

Mikey looked at his brother, his face had a slight frown, brow furrowed in thought. It was what they called his Planning Leader face. Mikey wasn’t sure where he was going with this, “Why are you asking, Leo?”

Leo didn’t turn to meet his brother’s eyes. He stared at the maps that showed dwindling numbers of fighters, supplies, and land held by the resistance. The loss of the Headquarters had tipped things in the Krang’s favor, causing them to retreat to a cave in Upstate New York.

“Just making… contingency plans.” Leo finally answered after a moment.

“You really think things have gotten that bad?”

“Not quite yet, I hope we can still turn things around. But I think we should have an actual plan if worse comes to worst.”

“And you think time travel is the answer?” Mikey asked, eyebrow raised.

“You did,” Leo pointed out with a small smirk, referring to Michelangelo’s attempt at it 3 years previous. He grew serious again and continued, “I think if we’re going to use time travel…. It should only be as the very last resort. When there’s no other way we can turn it around. Only if there’s nothing we can do to stop the Krang.”

“And just when are you thinking of time traveling to?”

“We might as well go for broke and stop it before it even starts,” Leo said with a melancholic smile.

“You mean-“ Mikey’s eyes were wide.

“I mean stopping the key from ever being stolen, so that the Krang never even get out of the prison dimension. It might not change anything for us, but at least then, somewhere, some TIME will have a better future than we did.

“That is of course,” Leo continued, “if you choose to. I can’t make you, and I’m not going to order you either-“

“I’ll do it.” Mikey stated. “As a last resort I’ll do it”

“Mikey, we need a Time Gateway.” Leo saw his brother’s eyes widen before they narrowed in resolution. Mikey knew what Leo was asking him to do.

“But Leo,” Mikey looked at his hands, aware of the scars that were hiding under the wraps. “I can’t be sure I’ll have the power to make the gateway without losing part or ALL of me. I’ve gotten stronger since… the last time… and maybe by the time we do this, if we have to, I’ll be strong enough to make the gateway and survive. But I can’t guarantee that I will. I’ll still do it, but keep that in mind.”

“It will take everything I have.”

Leo knew what that meant. He feared it more than he cared to admit. He had already lost the rest of his family, he didn’t want to lose Mikey too. But then again, this was supposed to fix all that.

“I know.” He still hated it. “But this is our last chance. It’s our only chance.”

They both knew the risks and they needed to hurry.

Mikey floated a short distance away to begin.

“Wait, what’s going on, where is he going?” Casey asked frantically.

“Who is going to go?”

“I guess who ever is still here when it’s decided that it’s the end of the world. But I think I need to go.”

“Not that I’m arguing with you, Leo, but why?”

“I’m the one who remembers best about what happened that day-“

“Only because you keep beating yourself up about it! Stop that!”

“I know what needs to be done and why it needs to be done.”

Leo couldn’t go. He would love to be able to fix the mistake he made years ago. But he couldn’t do it with a bleeding wound in his side. The past wouldn’t be able to offer the medical attention he would need, and a dying and dead mutant turtle would just slow Casey down and cause him more problems.

(There was also a small part of him that didn’t want to leave this time, this was where his family had died. He wasn’t sure what happened to a soul if it died in a different timeline, but he didn’t want to possibly lose the chance to reunite with his family that was here.)

Now he had to just had to tell Casey what to do.

He took out the one piece of paper he had, the photo he had carried for over 15 years, and drew the Key on the back as he told Casey of how the krang first arrived.

“Why are you telling me this?” Casey asked as he took the drawing.

“Because Mikey’s about to send you back in time to the day that the key was stolen.”

“Wait, he’s gonna WHAT?”

“I think Casey should get to go too. He had to grow up in this hell, he should be allowed to live in a time of peace. He’ll know how important it is to stop the invasion. He’s smart and fast and skilled. If no one else is able to go, He could do it.” Leo had said.

“And He probably wouldn’t be here without the invasion happening in the first place. Circumstances and all that. So there’s a chance he won’t have to deal with whatever time problems there could be with living in the same time as your past self. Counterpart or whatever.” Mikey mused.

He didn’t like the idea of sending Casey alone through the gateway, but there was no other choice.

He had to get Casey to understand WHY it was so important that he go back in time. To make sure he would do it.

And Leo believed in him. He just had to get the kid to believe in himself too.

“Find the key, stop the Krang.” He commanded.

“But sensei-”

“Say it!” Leo needed to know that Casey knew what he had to do. If not, then it was all in vain.

“Find the Key, Stop the Krang” he repeated dutifully. He had the same sad face that he used to make when he was 5 and told he had to go to sleep instead of training more. Leo couldn’t help but smile at the kid and patted his shoulder. Yeah, the kid would do just fine.

“I don’t want to lose you.” Casey pleaded.

“Casey, it’s not about me.” It was about saving everyone and everything that had been lost all over the world. About everything that would continue to be stolen. It was about stopping the Krang no matter what.

Leo didn’t get the chance to explain any of that as the giant Krang bots appeared above them.

“Mikeeey,” Leo called, and saw that Mikey was still working on creating the gateway.

Leo could only watch as his brother pushed beyond his limit to tear open the gateway, glowing mystic cracks extending over his whole body.

“Master Michelangelo, NO! You’re gonna-“

Mikey turned his head and winked at them with a smile.

Leo watched as Michelangelo shattered into mystical energy.

He hung his head as his heart broke. He lost his final brother.

Leo couldn’t help but remember an old conversation and smiled. At least one of his brothers got to die the way they wanted.

And he was so, SO proud of Mikey.

Mikey had done it. He made the Time Gateway.

The krang were closing in.

“Casey,“

Leo rested a hand on Casey’s shoulder.

“When you’re done saving the world, do me a favor-”

He just had one regret about the situation.

“Hey, one good thing about possibly going back in time!”

“You mean besides saving the world? What’s that?”

“Finally get to have pizza again!”

“-Grab a slice!” and he tossed Casey toward the gateway.

Leo ran from the gateway, knocking back any krang that tried to get close, head turned to make sure Casey got through the gateway okay.

He turned away from the gateway, Casey’s tear-filled eyes were the last thing he’d ever see of the boy he practically raised.

Leonardo could only hope that Casey’s new life in the past wouldn’t make him cry like that ever again.

“HA! I guess that’s one way to make sure Casey gets his pizza party!”

Somewhere in the afterlife- Mikey: So you told him to get the key to stop the krang? Leo; YUP! He’ll do great Mikey: And you told him where he had to go? Leo:…. Uh Mikey: you told him where it’d be right?? Leo: uuummmmmmmm Mikey: HOWS HE SUPPOSED TO STOP THE KEY FROM BEING STOLEN IF HE DOESN’T KNOW WHERE TO GO??? WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU TOLD HIM??? Leo: …. mumbles I told him to get pizza…. Mikey:….. okay that’s understandable Donnie: HA. NARDO LOST THE GAME! LAST PLACE! Leo: WAA- WAIT THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS! AND GET BACK HERE I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH YOU! And then they all have a giant reunion hug. :)

The Argument Against Caleo

Spoilers up to Blood of Olympus and beyond. Beware! (Or not, the book series has been out for a few years, get over it). I wrote this after seeing a user wondering why people didn’t like Caleo, or in some cases, hated it. Here, I want to explain the answer as much as possible while doling out my own points.

One of the main grievances I have as a fan of Leo Valdez would be the ship Caleo, or Leo x Calypso. It’s a complicated ship, to say the least, with multiple issues that make me question why people like the ship. And I admit it, they initially had some chemistry, but there’s multiple issues that Uncle Rick produced through making such a relationship that makes it extremely open to criticism, criticism which I will explain through this post.

One of my main points against them is that the ship was created on a very limited time scale. Although we aren’t given an exact date to date of when Leo and Calypso met to when they fell in love, we can safely estimate it to be a week at best. Such a limited amount of time from going through the multiple stages of a relationship already stresses the limits of the suspension of disbelief.

A counterexample would be Percabeth, or Percy x Annabeth. Throughout the series, we aren’t introduced to them being romantically involved until the Titan’s Curse, which was two years after they met. Specifically, this is brought up by Aphrodite, the goddess of love herself. Admittedly, Percy and Annabeth were twelve years old when they first met, when romance was definitely out of the picture, especially with a quest to get the Master Bolt.

However, from there we get to see multiple examples of their character depth, ranging from their respective fatal flaws to their ambitions, hopes and dreams, and their friendship. We get to see the slow build up of their chemistry, which was a really good writing move on Uncle Rick’s part. These characters took their sweet time to get to where they wanted to go, and despite the false romantic lead of Rachel, they still got together.

On the other hand, we don’t see enough of this between Leo and Calypso — we only see one book where they interacted with each other in The House of Hades, and that was only for a handful of chapters. While they are definitely older so they can jump straight to romance (some may say too old, but I’ll get to that) its still a pretty huge gap to jump through without making it stick. This makes it hard to root for a ship when it is built on a rather faulty foundation from the ‘they just met’ to ‘they get together’, especially when they don’t have a lot of events to show their chemistry.

Which brings me to Ogygia, which has raised a few red flags for me when looking at it from a retrospective point of view. Now, we know what the main issue of the island is that the hero who landed on said island can’t leave until Calypso falls in love with them. And we’ve seen this with Percy during the Battle of the Labyrinth, where he lands in the island and Calypso falls in love with him while tending to his wounds from, you know, being erupted from freaking Mt. St. Helens. Needless to say, this falling in love with each other montage happened quickly to the point of suspicion, which sets up the complication that Calypso and Leo might have fallen in love due to magical intervention.

And hear me out, because although this might be a pretty big pill to swallow, we have evidence for this through Percy. It only takes one chapter for Calypso and Percy to meet, and the next he’s willing to consider leaving Camp Half-Blood and Annabeth behind to live on the island when Hephaestus gives him the choice to leave Ogygia or stay. We don’t even get an explanation on why Percy considered giving it all up just so he can be with her. All we know is, girl meets boy, now they want to live on an isolated island forever. It’s especially absurd considering Percy’s hamartia (fatal flaw) is freaking loyalty to those he loves. Needless to say, It’s a huge YIKES, especially when we apply it to Leo and Calypso.

It also raises the possibility that the romantic relationship between them is doomed to failure. And if you guys want to fight me on this, let’s look at Jason and Piper, a couple whose relationship started with a similar foundation. Piper had romantic memories implanted into her brain by Hera through the use of the Mist, while Jason was reduced to a Tabula Rasa (a blank slate for those who lack culture) by said goddess. They broke up before the Trials of Apollo because it was clear that when the dust settled, Piper had been aware that their romance was a lie and that their intentions to stay together was a mix of delusion and pressure from freaking Aphrodite. Leo and Calypso get together under what is arguably a very similar set of conditions if Ogygia’s magic had any influence on their relationship, and that this magic could wear off if given enough time.

Third, and here’s a pretty big one for me, would be Calypso’s character, mainly because there are a lot of unfortunate implications attached to it. In The Blood of Olympus, she was turned into the divine equivalent of Princess Peach, with Leo being her Mario (except he saves her with a badass metal dragon). Its extremely unnecessary to make a character, especially as one such as Calypso, get turned into the typical reward of a B-Class action movie. It’s insulting and puts her up as a trophy, a narrative that is definitely not ok by any means necessary.

In another direction, Calypso is also really, really worrying when things don’t go get her way. First, let’s look at The Odyssey, the first myth she pops up. Calypso had imprisoned Odysseus for ten years on her island until Hermes said to let him go, and although it gives them plenty of time to fall in love, it also raises the implications of stockholm syndrome. Then we’ve got the fact that Calypso cursed Annabeth out of spite, implicitly saying that she wished the daughter of Athena would suffer the same isolation that she did, which came to reality when Percy and Annabeth met the Arai in Tartarus. And Annabeth wasn’t even aware that she was still in Ogygia, much less intentionally intervened in the matter. When Percy left Ogygia, rather than be angry at Percy, Calypso cursed Annabeth out of all people to suffer the same loneliness and misery she went through. That’s some Hera at her worst levels of spite.

Through such evidence we can see that Calypso is extremely wrathful towards those who break her heart even though they don’t want to. It certainly implies that Calypso isn’t in a good state of mind, and could easily repeat said actions if provoked. We could almost compare it to Medea and the original Jason, but at least in that case, Medea has every right to be pissed off at Jason and take her revenge. Calypso’s curse and how she handles things certainly implies a level of immaturity that would end in disaster if they broke up.

One issue that, I’ll admit is more from my personal point of view is that the ship took a lot of Leo’s character and threw it in the garbage in Blood of Olympus. Though we see him do a lot of stuff behind the scenes, the fact that its all for the goal of reaching Calypso just reduced him to someone who is more focused on love than, you know, fighting the evil goddess that was responsible for killing his mom and getting sweet sweet revenge. While the revenge plot can be cliched sometimes, it can be played well, while romance and the typical ‘always save the girl’ trope is just overdone. If Leo had been allowed to, you know, be more focused on other things rather than Calypso, we could have seen a lot more variety in his character.

For example as one of the possible character arcs he could’ve gone through, Leo has always been alone among the couples, often being isolated. Heck, Nemesis herself stated that he would always be the seventh wheel, and that he would never find a place among his brethren. Though some fellow tumblr users have taken this in multiple ways, either saying that he should learn to be happy by himself or that he is socially isolated in the Argo II because of these romantic relationships (I prefer a mix of both). Uncle Rick just giving him a girlfriend seems like taking the easy way out of solving such an issue and abandoning what could’ve been a rather interesting character arc. The relationship isn’t a bad thing if we remove some of the unfortunate implications, but it is a bad way to end what is a complex and realistic problem for a character and in some cases maybe possible in real life.

One more minor but still yikes worthy point is that there’s a huge age gap between them. We’re not talking about the ‘Hazel is 15 and Frank is 17 and in one year that’ll be a problem because then Hazel will be jailbait’ age gap. And even then, we can argue that Hazel is older since she is chronologically ninety-one years old. No, Calypso is older by millennia in terms of mindset and body due to the perks of being a goddess, while Leo is sixteen.

God-to-Mortal relationships are already complicated, even with emotionally and socially well-functioning adults. The fact that Leo is underage, inexperienced with romance (despite his flirting, Calypso was his first kiss), and has been through a freaking ton of trauma in his youth, does not make this okay. At best, they’re both mutually interested in each other but may have different expectations when it comes to a relationship. At worst, Calypso is taking advantage of a boy just so she can get out of Ogygia and possibly dumping him later on like the wrapping of a candy bar. Even though Calypso lost her immortality during The Trials of Apollo, that doesn’t even compensate for the immense age gap alongside Leo’s guilt at the possibility that he might’ve been responsible for her losing said immortality.

Oh, and about Leo... I’m a fan of him, but I can admit that he is in a bad spot both mentally and emotionally throughout the series. He’s lost his mom due to a mix of his own powers and Gaea’s trickery, and never had the chance to fully process that event and come to terms with it. The foster home system alongside his own trauma has forced him to hide his emotions through a façade of happiness and jokes when it’s quite clear to me he needs a therapist, stat. He's also run away from several foster homes, implying this means he was and still is being affected by the event. His mask is still on during The Blood of Olympus considering he hid a lot of things from Piper and Jason.

Speaking about them, not helping this matter is the fact that he’s rather isolated in terms of friendships since Jason and Piper, his supposed best friends are more interested in locking lip rather than, you know, actually hanging out with each other. He doesn’t have good friendships with the rest of the Seven, and the closest ones he does have is with Hazel and Frank. And even then they start off in the wrong spot since Frank is very insecure about possibly losing Hazel to him during Mark of Athena while Hazel in the meantime, is also dealing with the fact that he is the descendant of her possible boyfriend Sammy Valdez.

This could indirectly have made him desperate for affection since he has nobody else to confide in during the rest of the series, which is a bad mental state to be in when one lands on Ogygia, the island that we’ve seen could possibly force two people to fall in love with each other. A romantic relationship is not something that he needs or something that will help him in the future. He needs more than that, and having him in one that could end in disaster is the last thing he needs.

And that does not make him a bad person, much less a bad character. While some who are similarly emotionally and socially isolated may turn to violence or creepy behavior on those they want affection from, Leo does not do that to the other characters. It just means that he as a character needs more time to recover and develop before we go giving him romantic relationships, much less one with Calypso.

That’s not to say that they don’t have some things in common. Both are starved for love and affection, with Calypso being constantly rejected by heroes while Leo was rejected by foster homes and his own family. It’s a trait that they have in common, but it shouldn’t be the only thing that they have in common, especially since it is laced with a trauma that is clear they haven’t had help processing. They need to develop more as characters and as friends before they should be paired together.

So… yeah. The Caleo relationship is, in my eyes, doomed to failure, or at least heavily flawed after taking the above points into account. Uncle Rick, as if seemingly aware of these criticisms, has put the relationship in a rocky place by The Tower of Nero, giving them the possibility of overcoming the above criticisms and their own flaws, or giving fanfic writers an out and pairing Leo with another character or have him single, but happy. Either way, in my opinion Caleo is a bad ship when it comes to how it was created, alongside the flaws and unfortunate implications it has.

While I can see some of the chemistry the ship has, you can’t just use a couple of moments where they get along as evidence that they belong together, especially with the above reasons. That’s like using a band-aid to cover a bullet hole without removing the bullet, stopping the bleeding, and preventing infection. If both characters and their relationship had been given more time to develop, I would understand how they would get together.

Full disclosure: in middle school I was Percy Jackson OBSESSED. Writing this post is bringing back memories...ahhh, the good old days before Blood of Olympus came out and I swore off HOO forever...

Going through it carefully, I seriously wonder if Rick Riordan was watching Stargate when he started creating this world. It's no wonder I love Stargate now.

Jack O'Neill = Percy Jackson

I mean, c'mon! It couldn't be more perfect! Both of them are smartasses, have decided it's their life work to act dumb even though they're actually smart as hell. Both of them have ADHD and are VERY fidgety. Jack's a lot more tragic than Percy, because he's fifty instead of sixteen. But they act exactly the same, are loyal to a fault, and wayyyyy too humble. Not to mention they both fall in love with blonde geniuses who laugh at their stupid jokes and are driven NUTS by their dumb acts! Totally the same person.

Sam Carter = Annabeth Chase

I mentioned this already a little. But again, could they be more similar?! Both geniuses who are unafraid to show their smarts. Badass in a fight, and ALSO the person who will draw up a plan to save the world. Both have slightly inept fathers and absent mothers. Both are a little confused when it comes to love, and both of them are tomboys. Plus, they look similar? Like, Annabeth could literally be a teenage Sam Carter? Okay. I'm done.

Daniel + Teal'c = Grover + Tyson

This part isn't quite as perfect, but the combination of Daniel and Teal'c still manages to give off the exact same effect as Grover and Tyson? Daniel's got Grover's clumsiness, Grover's penchant for trouble, but Tyson's innocence. Teal'c has Grover's wisdom and the whole "outsider" perspective Grover and/or Tyson often bring, but he also has Tyson's giant-strongman thing going for him. They both love food in the same way Grover and Tyson love food (okay, now I want a fic where Teal'c tries to eat Louis XVI furniture).

Janet = Thalia

You KNOW I'm right. Same no-nonsense attitude, same attitude towards Jack/Percy. Annabeth and Thalia are besties, Janet and Sam are besties. Okay, Thalia is taller. But with her ability to command the infirmary, Ms. Napoleonic Power Monger could totally pass for a child of Zeus, right?

Hammond = Chiron

I think this one is obvious? Very tired mentors/grandpas who never, never get any time off and have to deal with the fallout of ALL the shenanigans. At least Hammond isn't stuck in a wheelchair outside of the SGC.

And - quite obviously - there's a lot of personal parallels for me here too. I absolutely HATED how HOO took advantage of the original characters, and then made fun of them/destroyed their characterization (ahem, ANNABETH). I know lots of people loved HOO more, but for me the last two books especially ruined the characters. Not to mention they kept dangling Percy and Annabeth in front of our noses and then made us read about people who were not them. Funnily enough, 5 PJO books + 5 HOO books = 10 books total! Guess what has 10 seasons? That's right, SG-1! And guess what I refuse to acknowledge the last two seasons of, because said seasons destroyed characterization? Oh look, it's Stargate SG-1!

Speaking of that - if I'm running with the parallel then Landry could be Coach Hedge. And Mitchell can be Fucking Jason Grace--huh, that works well. And I think Vala can be Leo - aka the only one I liked of the new characters! :D

Won't hesitate to throw hands at anyone who messes with her family.

Has a kind of love-hate relationship with her stepmother Hera. While Thalia respects and acknowledges Hera as her stepmother, she is a free spirit, and hates being chained down by the old-fashioned rules Hera imposes.

Briefly dated Luke Castellan for 2 years, but broke up due to reasons. The break up was mutual and Luke still remains as one of Thalia's closest friends.

Deadly with a bow and arrow (she'd be hunting down hunters like they hunt animals for living if it weren't for the fact that murder is unfortunately illegal).

As the youngest child of the Olympia family and with his father on Death's doorstep, Zeus was given a lot of free reign, hence his playboy tendencies. He eventually did settle down with Hera Junos, the single daughter of one of the oldest families in Greece. Hera was fond of children but was unable to sire her own due to medical issues, which led to Zeus getting a mistress (with Hera's begrudged consent), Beryl Grace, the daughter of Hera's family chef. Beryl has always had a rather strange personality and an unhealthy obsession with alcohol. A few years after giving birth to Thalia and Jason Grace respectively, her liver gave way and she died before they could find a solution.

Coming from both a high-class and old family, Hera was raised to be a perfect lady (a lady should not wear pants or speak out of turn etc. etc.) and has a rather old-fashioned way of thinking, enforcing strict rules in her household.

She still loves Thalia, but because the way Thalia acts goes against everything Hera was taught, her relationship with her stepdaughter is a bit strained. Hera now mostly lets Thalia do her own thing, but every now and then might still be a bit controlling. She's trying, okay?

Bianca di Angelo - 19

Sophomore at Uni (majors in Journalism and English Literature)

Works part-time at the Artemis Foundation

Generally quiet and shy, but has a tendency to fuss over small details.

Very responsible and possibly the only one with a brain cell among the cousins. (Proteus and Triton don’t even live in the same continent half of the time; Kym doesn't give a damn; Thesi is too nice to reprimand them; Ro‘s too busy fawning over her fiancé; Hero is more likely to fan the flames than quell them; Thalia, Jason, Percy and Nico are always either competing against each other or breaking the Internet with their antics again; Hazel is pretty innocent but has a slight vindictive streak so caution must be exercised; and Tyson and Estelle are innocent beans of sunshine that must be protected).

She can be bold when she wants to be, as well as reckless.

Loves her family with all her heart, and literally no one is more protective of Nico than she is

She was the first but also last person to know about Nico's boyfriend (First because she goes to the same school and is not dense, thank you very much, but technically last because she was the last person that Nico officially told since Will is terrified of her for some reason, something about her being 'the FINAL BOSS'; this amuses Hazel to no end).

As the eldest son of the three brothers, Hades was betrothed and wed to his childhood best friend Persephone Terrafield by their fathers in an attempt at a business partnership (Spoiler Alert: It didn’t work out in end). Admittedly, Hades and Persephone did have a small infatuation with each other when they were younger, but it never grew into anything serious, and as they grew older he saw her as more of a sibling than a lover and vice versa. After the inevitable death of his father, Hades and Persephone divorced but literally nothing in their relationship changed since they’d never loved each other romantically in the first place. When Hades decided to court their mutual friend, Italian diplomat Maria di Angelo, Persephone supported both of them wholeheartedly. In the span of the seventeen years they were together, Maria gave Hades two beautiful children, Bianca and Nico. Unfortunately, Maria passed away after being on life support for two years in result of a plane crash when Nico was 6.

In the two years when Maria was hospitalized, Hades was so desperate to find his beloved a cure that he sought out a witch doctor that was rumoured to be in New Orleans. Marie Levesque, the aforementioned witch, was a greedy, manipulative person with a deluded and unstable mind, who drugged Hades and essentially raped him because she thought his spawn would have the perfect blood for experimenting magic on. She used magic to wipe his memory of the previous night’s events and handed him an ‘antidote’ that was actually just water dyed a milky white. After ten years, Marie finally revealed to Hades a 12-year-old Hazel, who looked miserable, was suffering from malnutrition, wounds, burns etc. and had a supernatural ability which Marie proudly said she had bestowed to her via dark magic. Hades was absolutely mortified, revolted and a bunch of other things. He filed a lawsuit against Marie, charging her for rape, child neglect, child abuse and human experimentation, as well as taking permanent custody over Hazel Levesque (now Hazel Olympia).

Persephone Terrafield

CEO of jewelry enterprise The Red Pomegranate which was a sub-branch of Pluto Corps. The enterprise has the highest production rate in the US.

Self-designated matchmaker for Hades (Hades always tells her she should focus on her own love life first, but he’s just an ungrateful brat)

Current life goal is to fulfill Maria di Angelo’s dying wish: help Hades find love again. (Mission status: still at Square 1 because Hades has some trust issues after the Levesque Incident)

The kids all call her ‘Aunt Seph’, but she loves the children as though they were her own

She and Hades often joke that they would totally still be married if they didn’t see each other as siblings and platonic soulmates and she hadn’t had her sexual awakening of being lesbian.

She lives with Hades and the children as she finds it too much of a hassle to move into her own place, not to mention lonely (with the kids at school and doing club activities, someone needs to make sure Hades gets exposure to the sun anyway).

Persephone is the daughter of an unnamed businessman and Demeter Terrafield, an agricultural revolutionist and healthy-cereal-obssessed woman.

Her mother and Hades have this sort of weird rivalry going on whenever Demeter visits; Demeter hates Hades because he hates healthy cereal, and apparently anyone who hates healthy cereal isn’t good enough to be hanging around her daughter, so she always replaces all his coffee with decaf and puts the healthiest cereal she can find on his bedside table every morning; in retaliation, Hades will deliberately eat the most sugary sweets he can find in front of her and locks her out of their personal greenhouse. (The glass walls are made of the strongest glass he could find and the door is locked by multiple manual and digital locks.)

Hestia Olympia

CEO of WarmHearth Interior Design Agency (WHIDA)

Everyone's favourite person, indefinitely

Has the infinite patience of a goddess

Gentle, kind, very wise, gives great advice

The kids call her ‘Aunt Tia’

Often fondly exasperated by her younger brothers' antics (because no, just because they’re grown men now does not mean they are going to stop their childhood feuds since despite their protests, they are all petty AF), but once she snaps, they all line up like toy soldiers and behave nicely.

Knits a lot. Most of her carpets, quilts, bags, scarves etc. are handmade.

She looks relatively innocent, but don't be fooled. There's a hidden arsonist in her that is always ready to come out when she's angry.

Hestia has a 'I'm not mad, just extremely disappointed and upset' Mom Look that has sent people bawling their eyes out and begging for her forgiveness with just one glance

She is the oldest of the Olympia siblings, but as a child had a frail and weak body. Kronos wanted to get rid of her since she was 'useless and couldn't be wed off', but Rhea, their mother, begged and pleaded Kronos to let her live. For some unknown reason, Kronos complied.

Her brothers are all very protective of her

relationship headcanons are actually pretty fun to write so expect more of these soon. i might do like some brother-sister kinda ones from pjo (like siblings in a cabin, for ex) but ofc can’t wait to tackle the nico-will dynamic <3

Percy was too scared to admit he liked you so he instead was extremely overprotective.

One time, at a party a Dionysus camper threw, an Aphrodite guy was getting touchy-feely with you.

Percy splashed the guy’s beer in his face using his powers, angering him, but he only winked at you and walked away.

Eventually you caught on that he liked you and kissed him by the Canoe Lake.

Initially you tried to keep your relationship a secret.

There was always sexual tension during Capture the Flag.

It was even worse at the nightly campfires, where you stole lustful looks from each other.

You snuck into his cabin most nights as you couldn’t do it with Nico around.

That’s when you found out he was a big cuddler. All night he would warm you up, as children of Hades are unnaturally cold. And because he likes smelling your hair.

Nico was the first to know. He told you that he was dating Will and you would have felt guilty if you didn’t tell him about Percy, so you did it right after. You made disgusted looks at each other jokingly—but not before Percy bust into the room with chocolate-covered strawberries. He always seemed to be in the right places at the wrong time.

Despite being popular on campus for your powers and ethereal looks, you never had many friends. People were intimidated by your dad being the god of death.

Until Percy introduced you to those from the Prophecy of Seven and you all became really close.

He made it seriously obvious that you were dating, even though the whole point of keeping it a secret was to protect it from them.

Whenever Leo tried to flirt with you, Percy held Riptide in the pen form against his back and glared.

When Jason stared at your bikini bod at the beach, Percy sent a wave of water over him before he could finish stuttering.

When girls flirted with Percy—which was and is all the time, especially the mortal ones—you kissed his cheek in front of them and got the message across that he was yours.

“I’m the disciple of death, so,” usually did the trick.

Percy got sick of keeping the secret. He didn’t want guys flirting with you anymore.

So, at your birthday party, he pulled you onto him in the Canoe Lake and kissed you passionately. Everyone stopped swimming to cheer you on.

An Apollo kid took a picture of the moment. It turned out like one of those aesthetic Pinterest couple photos with the sun setting in the background and the silhouette of your chests against each other.

Percy often asks you to replicate the silhouette in the picture as a shadow on the wall.

From that moment on, PDA became a big thing between you two.

Everyone knows you’re dating and if they’re new, they learn quickly.

You’re like the mother and father of Camp Half-Blood.

The first time you told Percy you loved him, he hugged you tightly and pulled you into his chest to stop you from seeing him so happy.

“I love you too,” he’d said quietly. “More than anything—everything.”

After a few moments of you being buried in his chest, he kissed your forehead, and then all over your face, and repeatedly said, “I love you,” until you laughed.

Nobody makes you happy the way he does.

“I’ve never seen you smile so much,” Leo said one time, not really joking.

“That’s because I’ve never been so happy.”

Nico threw a pillow at you. “Out.”

Your dates are at the beach, where Percy steals kisses from you in the water and you laugh at how dorky he is explaining the anatomy of a hippocampus.

You’re accustomed to riding dolphins, watching the sun set and swimming with sharks.

“Aren’t you scared?”

“Of what?”

“Of the sharks biting you or killing you. Girls are always scared of that.”

“I’m not scared of death, Jackson.”

You and Percy binge-watch Netflix and binge-eat all the time.

You and Percy are very powerful and competitive, being children of The Big Three, resulting in long and rough fights.

There is a literal rule that you’re not allowed to be on the same team. You’re both too powerful.

Because of the paleness you inherited from your father, you blush easily. Percy thinks this is adorable.

He always talks about how beautiful you are, saying Aphrodite can’t compare. He knows that you secretly like the compliments, in spite of smacking him and calling them moronically cheesy.

He is always in awe of you when you take people down in fights.

He genuinely admires what he calls the ‘badass bitch’ vibe.

You make him blue pancakes.

It isn’t very often that you’re open with people, but you’re very open with Percy. You wouldn’t admit it to him, but you’re sure he’s the only one you could love that much.

Percy appreciates your honesty, though others might find it startling. He appreciates most your ability to conceptualise what he’s feeling when he explains something that happened to him.

For example, he told you about how much he hated Gabe Ugliano. You recognized it as abuse and Percy denied it.

“Oh, come on. He was just a mean dude. I wasn’t abused,” he had chuckled.

“He hit you, Perce. He bullied you. Just because you’re a demigod doesn’t mean you’re a strong mortal incapable of feeling pain. Your problems as a human guy matter just as much.”

“You know, you’re nicer than you think.”

“Don’t insult me again, Jackson. No matter how cute you look doing it.”

Everyone at camp is envious of your relationship.

The Aphrodite girls go insane shipping you guys.

One time, Piper had to stop the Aphrodite girls from spying on you guys through the crack of the Poseidon cabin.

They like the contrast between you two; Percy is the warm one and you’re the cold one; he’s the tan one and you’re the pale one; he’s an idiot and you’re smart.

And yet you have a balance of similarities. You’re both illegitimate children of The Big Three, powerful, good-looking, brave and would do anything for each other.

One time, a mortal tried to capture a mythical seamonster on video in the middle of a Greek ocean. In the corner of the video were you and Percy heatedly making out; he had taken you there for a date.

Your accidental sex tape became worse when Poseidon used Mist to get rid of the hippocampus in the video so no mortal would find out about it.

The video was debunked, but also broadcasted on the news where the world got to see you two making out. And no seamonster.

Whenever you and your brother Nico play with Mythomagic cards, Percy always shows up.

He says he wants to learn to play, but rubs your love life in Nico’s face simultaneously.

You’ve always thought it was because of the ‘Nico saying Percy wasn’t his type’ thing, but it’s actually because Percy wants Nico to know that he really loves you and wants his approval.

Hades only accepts your relationship because you’re happy, but that doesn’t stop him from threatening Percy’s life.

“Break her heart and you’ll have wished you became immortal, Percy Jackson. Of course that wouldn’t stop me.”

Poseidon loves you like his own daughter.

But when you talk to him, you’re pretty awkward, as he knows about the things you and Percy do in his waters.

Sally thinks you’re good for Percy because you save his ass whenever he does something stupid.

With Paul Blofis being a smart, docile guy and Percy being a rowdy goof from a different world, they didn’t get along well initially.

So you’re the middleman. You educate Paul on the world of gods and you tutor Percy so he passes Paul’s English class—his worst class due to his dyslexia.

You’re pretty much the rulers of Camp Half-Blood and the high school you both attend.

Percy Jackson & The Avengers: Convergence - some badass demigod training!!

Hello, and welcome back to...my horrible explanation for being absent! Coming up on this episode, you'll see me explain that I had my first 2 lacrosse games of the season and was left with bruised ribs. If anyone ever says that women's lax isn't a real sport cuz there isn't contact, you can tell them that someone from a fanfic website said they had bruised ribs from playing.

Anyway, I hope you like this chapter. We're starting to get some actual plot movement I think so have fun with that. Honestly, I kinda forgot what happened in here so...yeah. Please comment, like, follow, and reblog! Stay safe & happy reading!

Percy and Annabeth woke up to the sound of a startled shout. Frank's startled shout, to be specific. They both shot up right away, their battle instincts kicking in, but Frank had seen enough.

"Seriously guys!? Again?" he exclaimed.

"Nothing happened!" Annabeth reassured, "We just fell asleep!"

"We did kiss a little," Percy muttered, and Annabeth shot him a death glare.

"Not. Helping," she whispered scathingly.

A sense of complete déjà vu washed over Percy. Except this time, the rest of the Seven were standing in the doorway, watching on with various amused expressions on their faces.

"Oh, this is perfect. Coach Hedge is gonna love this," Leo smiled in maniacal glee.

"No, Leo," Piper ordered, "You're not going to do that. Instead, we are going to get this meeting over with so I can get some sleep."

"Aw...you ruin all my fun!" he exclaimed.

"Someone's gotta do it when Calypso isn't here," Piper said.

It was true. Calypso and Piper are probably the only ones who could actually control Leo. Calypso because of Leo's fear of losing her or just general fear of her, and Piper because of her charmspeak.

"Ok! That's enough. We're getting sidetracked. We need to start this meeting." Jason clapped his hands to get everyone's attention.

He gave Percy a meaningful look; one which said to 'take it from here.' So Percy did.

"Um, well, Annabeth and I wanted to talk to you guys about what's been going on. We need to come to an agreement on what we are allowed to say and do with the Avengers. I don't think we should show them the full extent of our powers because it seemed like those spies were looking for a reason to lock us up," he started, "And I'm not particularly fond of being put in a cell. How about you?"

"Yeah. And we need to figure out a way to deal with the bombings without them figuring us out. The mortals seemed pretty Hades-bent on releasing the big secret, and that never bodes well for people like us. I know that we need their help, but I don't trust them." Annabeth said.

"We can just say we were born with the powers, and have no idea why. I mean, it's technically true," Jason offered.

The others all nodded in agreement.

"Ok, now what about the pattern? What is it?" Piper asked.

"All of the places are big parts of the Greek and Roman world. Brooklyn Bridge is near Manhattan, the home of the Gods, Portland: Mt. St. Helens, where Typon used to be held, LA: entrance to Hades, Long Island: Camp Half-blood, and San Francisco: Camp Jupiter," Annabeth answered.

"Woah," Jason whispered, shocked.

"Yeah, but that's not our biggest concern. We also need to figure out how to hide our identities from the world while we're fighting with the Avengers," Annabeth said.

Everyone else there hadn't even thought of that. It comes in real handy to have a daughter of Athena around sometimes. Ok, not sometimes, all the time. All of them would be really dead without her quick thinking and planning.

"Um, I could try to see if the Aphrodite cabin could cook something up?" Piper suggested, "But most of them are still getting used to fighting, so they won't really know what to make. They need help with the designs."

Leo shot up from where he had slumped down into the desk chair, "I can help! Well, the Hephaestus cabin can. We can help design it so it's battle-ready."

"Good. We'll need those soon, I think. I have a feeling that we're going to have a lead soon, so we need to be ready when it comes. This is just one quest, so there is no need for people to think we're some kind of superheroes," Annabeth said.

"Aw! But I already had a name picked out!" Leo exclaimed.

He looked like he was about to let them in on his superhero name, but Annabeth held up a hand with a glare that clearly said to not speak unless he wanted to lose some very important parts of him. That kept him quiet, for sure.

"Is that all?" Frank asked, towering over them all.

"For now, yes. Remember, say the absolute minimum and stick to twisting the truth. If you reveal any new information without the others knowing, call a meeting to let us know," Annabeth confirmed, nodding her head.

"Great, now I can go back to sleep," Percy said, pulling Annabeth back down with him.

The others filed out soon after that, already hearing Percy's soft snores as they left and returned to their respective rooms. Ok, so Jason and Piper stayed in the same room like Percy and Annabeth did, but nothing happened. It was just nice to be in the arms of someone who cares about you, you know?

"Up and at 'em, kiddos! It's training day!" Tony gleefully exclaimed over the speakers that Percy was absolutely sure he did not see in his room.

Percy groaned when he saw what time it was: 6:00 AM. He knew he wasn't allowed to (and that it was wrong, of course), but he wanted to kill Tony so badly in that moment. It would be quick! Nobody would suffer!

But, alas, he had to actually work with the man-child. It might not come off like it, but Percy takes war very seriously, and this was starting to feel like a war. Or at least, it would become one if they didn't stop it soon. And to do that, they needed the Avengers, apparently.

That was the only reason that he followed Annabeth in getting up and ready for the day. He took a little longer than Annabeth, but at 6:30 AM, they were stepping out of his room. They saw that the others were slowly doing the same. They were all tired. There weren't any big dream incidents, but that doesn't mean that staying up until midnight and then waking up at six in the morning won't do something to you. Even Leo looked exhausted, with big puffy eyes from rubbing them in an attempt to wake himself up quicker. If Leo Valdez was tired, then you knew that it was too early for this.

Also, you have to remember that they'reteenagers. Teenagers aren't meant to be up super early- it's a scientific fact, Percy thinks. Annabeth once told him something about their melatonin not releasing until later at night, so they could stay up and sleep in later.

What? Percy pays attention to what she's saying sometimes.

"I hate Tony," Piper grumbled, practically falling asleep on Jason.

"You and us all, chica," Leo mumbled before letting out a huge yawn.

"What did he say was going on? Training?" Jason asked, looking over at Annabeth for answers because she seemed the most awake of the group.

"Yep. Training, whatever that entails. I don't know, so be prepared for anything. I really hope it has nothing to do with electronics, but knowing our luck, and how Tony has been so far, it will, so just try not to get too close," she answered.

Leo tiredly saluted her, "Yes, ma'm."

Hazel rolled her eyes, "Come on, Repair Boy."

She grabbed his arm and started leading the way towards the living room, which was their best guess at where the Avengers were.

As they were walking, they were interrupted by the disembodied voice of JARVIS, "Excuse me, but I was told to direct you to the training room, where the Avengers are currently assembled and waiting for you. Shall I proceed?"

All of the demigods were still really weirded-out by the AI, and there was no way it was ending soon. It's just a reminder that they were currently in a building basically composed entirely of technology, one of their greatest liabilities. Liabilities were a dangerous thing in their lives.

"Yes..." Percy answered hesitantly, unsure where to look.

"Then please follow the arrows projected on the ground, sir," JARVIS said.

Sure enough, there were large white arrows pointing them away from the living room, so they followed them. It was about a two minute walk to the elevators, where they were told to go to the 60th floor, which was apparently one whole training room by itself.

"So let me get this straight, you guys want us to...play a video game?" Frank asked, gesturing to the giant room around them.

The Seven were quickly ushered by the Avengers into a big room with a bunch of white, padded tiles all around them as soon as they had reached the training floor. There was only a viewing window and an exit that disappeared when the door was closed. Then, Tony explained what they were going to be doing. None of them really understood it yet.

"No! I want you to fight the LMDs! The robots! They will simulate different levels of skill to evaluate your skills. Understand?" Tony punctuated each word, quickly losing any sense of patience he had started with.

"Yeah. We got it," Annabeth sighed.

Ok, she was sure she was the only one of them who realized that they were about to break one of the rules they established last night on the first day. They were about to fight robots. TECHNOLOGY.

This should go well, Annabeth thought.

Steve interrupted before Tony could make a snarky comment, "Good. We'll start with fighting separately and then together as a group. Afterwards, we'll see how you work with different weapons."

"Aye aye, Cap," Leo joked.

"Leo, focus. We're about to fight ROBOTS." Annabeth tried to get the son of Hephaestus to understand the severity of the situation. "You have a back-up plan, right?"

He could talk to machines. Robots were machines. Therefore, he should be able to get them out of this mess if anything went wrong.

He gave her a nod of understanding, and Annabeth settled back into her natural stance rather than her tense one. Well, she's always tensed for battle. At least in her natural one it's less obvious.

"Alright, who wants to go first?" Tony asked over the intercom.

"Uncle Leo will go first, right?" Percy joked, referencing to one of Leo's favorite nicknames for himself.

"Sure! I just need to know how much damage I'm allowed to do," Leo said, looking up at the Avengers.

Annabeth was shocked that he had even thought to ask that, and apparently the Avengers were, too.

"Um, just let go. There's nothing you can do to break this room. I designed it myself," Tony answered, still arrogant even through his confusion.

"Come on out, the rest of you," Natasha instructed.

Once the rest of the demigods had exited the room and stood next to the Avengers at the viewing window, Tony pressed a button on a screen that made a compartment in the walls of the room open up, revealing a row of floating LMDs.

"Now, I'm going to start you at Level 2, okay? It gets harder as you move up. The LMDs should stay the same form throughout every level, though. Ready?" Tony said.

Leo pulled his war hammer from his magical toolbelt and lit it and his arms on fire, "Ready."

Tony had to shake himself out of his shock before he pressed the start button, but when he did, every one of the mortal heroes had sat on the edge of their metaphorical seats, eager to see just how powerful these kids could be.

Plus, the kid had just pulled a giant war hammer from his normally-sized toolbelt, and then proceeded to light himself and the hammer on fire. They were bound to be curious after that display.

They knew the very basics of the young heroes' abilities, but most of that stuff was based on just what they had been told. Actual, visible proof is what they wanted.

All at once, the LMDs transformed into the Avengers minus the Hulk. Repeat, they changed into the Avengers. Leo had to fight a copy of the Avengers, alone.

Percy was freaking out inside. Sure, he trusted his friend, but Leo was a joker, and he tended to not understand how serious things were. In this case, he hoped that didn't happen.

"This should be interesting," Natasha remarked.

"No, this should be terrible. Tony, you never told me you were using this setting," Bruce said, rushing up to the other scientist, "He's just a kid."

"I think they've made it clear they aren't just kids, Jolly Green. It's fine. If they wanted to be treated like the rest of us, then they need to pass this test," Tony said.

Bruce looked like he wanted to say a lot more, but Jason stepped up to stop him, "He'll be fine, Dr. Banner. Leo may not look it, but he's powerful and he's smart. He can handle this."

Jason looked so sure of himself that it was enough to convince the doctor that it would be okay.

In truth, Jason had no idea how this program worked. There was a good chance that Leo did not, in fact, have this handled.

While this was being discussed, Leo had already started to fight the Iron Man LMD. He was currently alternating between swinging his hammer at it and firing balls of fire. The LMD had only been hit a couple of times because it kept maneuvering around the attacks by flying away.

It was getting tiresome, and Leo wanted it to be over with. So, he dropped his hammer and set a determined look on his face, glaring up at the robot.

The Seven were grinning, already figuring out what was happening, while the Avengers were just plain confused. What was the kid gonna do? Glare them to death?

Then, Leo started grinning and they knew it was all over.

He crouched down onto the ground and placed a hand on the floor, closing his eyes in concentration. The LMDs seemed to be as confused as their originals.

Three seconds passed before Leo's grin grew even more, and then he spoke a single word, "Stop."

And they did. Every single LMD lost their form and fell to the ground, limp and unmoving. Leo stood up, dusted his pants off, and turned to the viewing window to see his teammate's reactions.

They were priceless.

"That's how you do it," he said, "Am I done?"

Tony literally shook himself out of his stupor, "Yeah, sure. I need to reboot the LMDs."

When Leo came through the door, the rest of the demigods crowded him, patting him on the back and laughing at his dramatics.

"What was that?" Natasha demanded, breaking through the teens to tower over Leo's elf-like form.

Okay, maybe tower isn't the right word. She was taller than him, but not by much. Natasha was just very intimidating.

"Uh...fighting?" Leo tried.

Natasha's glare hardened, "You know that's not what I mean. What did you do to make the LMDs stop attacking?"

Leo glanced at Annabeth, who nodded in consent, "I talked to them."

"You did what?!" Tony exclaimed.

"I talked to them. They were pretty boring, to be honest, but I was able to shut them down," he answered.

Tony let out an incredulous laugh, "That's not possible! You can't just TALK to machines!"

"He can, and he did," Piper said, smiling proudly at her best friend.

"But–" Tony's voice died out.

"How come you never told us of this ability?" Natasha asked.

"You never asked," Percy answered simply, not liking her interrogatory tone at all.

The spy looked like she wanted to continue the conversation, but Clint whispered something in her ear and she stepped back with one last glare.

"Welp! That was fun! Who's next?" Tony clapped his hands.

Everyone turned to see that he had gotten the LMDs back online and back in the Avengers' form.

Piper sighed and started to walk to the door, "I guess I'll go next."

Before she could enter, Steve asked, "What weapon are you going to use? Your powers won't work on the robots."

Piper smirked at him over her shoulder before pulling Katoptris from its sheath on her thigh. Apparently, the Avengers had yet to fully break through the Mist, and they could not see her having that strapped there this entire time. But when she pulled it out, they seemed to finally be able to see it for what it truly was. It makes you wonder what they thought was there before. A ruler, maybe?

"I've got this," she stated before slipping into the training room.

It was obvious Piper had been taking more lessons on dagger-fighting with Annabeth. As soon as the first person attacked, she was slashing and stabbing like crazy. Her lithe form was swisting out of the way of punches from Steve's copy, while Clint's arrows were shooting at her from behind.

Tony had clearly upped the level of difficulty after seeing what Leo could do.

Piper ducked under one of the arrows, and then shot back up to land a finishing blow to the center of LMD-Steve's chest. Then, she ripped Katoptris out of the robot and turned to throw it at Clint's copy, which just barely managed to avoid getting stabbed.

She was running on pure adrenaline now. It was best to imagine these opponents as monsters. Sure, when they actually fought humans, they would need to not kill, but these were just robots.

Cilnt's robot shot it's last arrow, and it exploded right before her face, stunning her into stillness. In that couple of seconds it took for her to recenter herself, Natasha's copy jumped onto her back for a chokehold. Piper struggled, but the LMD had been designed to know all of Natasha's known skills, and it was working. The Iron Man LMD landed and shot a stunning shot at her chest: the final straw for Piper to finally surrender.

She knew they wouldn't kill her, but she was not in the mood to be knocked-out. It left you with a massive headache.

So she tapped out.

"Ok ok, I'm done. I'm done," She panted as she was released, rubbing her neck.

Piper was not happy about having to surrender, but it seemed like the Avengers had been thoroughly impressed with her skill with such a small weapon.

"I'll do next," Annabeth declared, high-fiving Piper on her way out.

"Good luck," Piper said.

"Don't need it," Annabeth responded, pulling out her drakon-bone sword.

Out in the control room, Tony said, "Is that a bone?!"

"It's whatever you want it to be," Hazel grinned, manipulating the Mist just a bit.

"You scare me sometimes, Miss Metal Detector," Leo muttered, glancing at Annabeth's sword, which had shifted into a machete.

He wasn't sure whether to be impressed by Hazel's skill, or weirded-out by Tony's brain.

"Make sure to move to difficulty up a bit," Percy told Tony, "She'll be insulted otherwise."

The billionaire seemed to be getting used to the teens' weird ways because he didn't even flinch when he heard that, and instead moved to comply.

"And...here we go," Tony said over the intercom, "Good luck, Annie."

"My name is Annabeth!" she shouted before going into the fight.

In this level, every single one of them attacked at once. Annabeth back-bended under Steve's copy's punch, and then kicked up into LMD-Natasha's face. After, she turned and sliced the Iron Man armor on the side, just under the armpit. She had picked that as a point of weakness before she had even stepped into the building.

"She's good," Natasha relented, watching as the daughter of Athena thrusted her sword into Steve's robot foot.

Seeing that Clint's LMD copy was not going to get any closer to her, Annabeth pulled out a hidden dagger and threw it in a perfect line to hit it in the center of its forehead. Then, she turned and blocked a punch from Natasha's robot, who had recovered from the face-hit. The spy copy used the Iron Man LMD to jump up and wrap her legs around Annabeth's neck, trying to do a scissor hold, which failed because Annabeth rolled forward, slamming Natasha's head into the ground. The left a big enough dent that the LMD wasn't getting back up.

That only left Iron Man to deal with.

She settled into a fighting stance, but didn't attack, choosing to wait for her opponent to make the first blow.

Percy was grinning. This was what they needed: a good way to blow off steam without it possibly ending with one of them dead.

"What is she waiting for?" Steve asked.

"She's playing with it. It's fun for her," Jason answered, "It's Annabeth."

Finally, the robot got impatient and attacked. It sent a stun blast at her, which Annabeth quickly avoided. After, she ran up to the wall, kicked off of it, and jumped up to drag the Iron Man LMD down to the ground, where she sat down on it and landed a few punches. But she quickly realized punching wasn't doing much good.

"Judo flip! Do the judo flip!" Leo exclaimed, jumping up and down in excitement.

When it wasn't him being the one attacked by Annabeth, it was super entertaining.

Annabeth sighed, but a smile was pulling at the edges of her lips. She hauled Iron Man up, who was still recovering from being slammed down to the ground, and got a good hold on it's arm. Then, she flipped it over her shoulder with an ease that only came from years of experience.

With a huge smile on her lips, and a last glance at her carnage, Annabeth walked back out to the control room.

"How was that for a kid?" She asked Natasha.

"Not bad," she got for an answer.

Jason, Hazel, and Frank's individual tests went-by pretty quickly. Jason electrocuted all of the robots, rendering them immobile.

After that, and with another new batch of LMDs, Hazel used her Spatha to slice and cut through the robots. In the end, it proved too hard for her to do it with just a sword, so she pulled a chunk of the wall out and smashed it against the LMDs until they were in many different pieces.

Frank ended up having to forfeit, but not before getting every single Avengers copy but Steve down. Steve ended up having him in a chokehold that was just too difficult to get out of. And Frank had already transformed into many animals, so he wasn't sure if he could've changed back if he had transformed again.

If it wasn't obvious, Percy was avoiding doing his turn. He was trying to stay in the corner, and out of the notice of any of the adults. However, that wasn't possible with two spies in the room. They notice everything.

"Percy? Your turn," Natasha said.

So much for that plan.

Percy hesitated, "Um...about that, I don't think I should go."

Natasha raised her eyebrows in mock-surprise, but it was actually Steve who spoke, "You have to go, son. In order to work well together, we need to know each other's strengths and weaknesses. This will never work without you doing this."

"Plus, we promise it's completely safe," Bruce added in.

Percy sighed, admitting that he wasn't going to be able to worm his way out of this one. Instead of fighting, he turned to whisper to Annabeth, "Don't let me get out of control."

Annabeth gave him a sad look, "Percy, I know you have control. I trust you. You just need to trust yourself. You would never hurt us. I know that for certain."

The Avengers were watching this interaction like hawks, but the other demigods were averting their attention. This happened sometimes, Percy and Annabeth going into their own world that only they could understand, and it was best to just let them be. Plus, privacy is a real thing people. The moment seemed almost too intimate for them to interrupt.

Percy still seemed to be having trouble believing Annabeth's statements, but he went into the training room without another protest. His shoulders were sagging in defeat, and he seemed to be folding in on himself. He was never one for attention, but that was a bit much in Leo's mind.

However, Leo and the rest of the Seven didn't have a full grasp on just how uncomfortable Percy as with using his powers now. They didn't know what happened in "that place."

"Are you ready, Percy?" Tony asked, readying the LMDs again.

"Yeah, I guess," Percy answered.

Annabeth was rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet, "Just breathe, Perce," she whispered under her breath, "You can do this."

She had to put on a brave face for her boyfriend, but she truly was terrified of Percy's potential. She had seen it first-hand in their trip underground, and it was nothing to be underestimated. The Avengers didn't know what powers they were playing with here. She only hoped that her insistent trust she was putting in Percy was going to amount to truth.

"We'll start you on Level 5? Based on what your friends can do, I think this will be a good start," Steve asked.

"Sure," Percy responded, bringing Riptide from his pocket.

"What's he going to do with a pen?" Bruce whispered to Clint.

The Seven all smiled at each other. Little did the mortals know, that pen was definitely not just a pen. It was always amusing when people saw what Riptide truly was for the first time.

"Alright. Here we go," Tony said, starting the simulation.

Percy closed his eyes, inhaled, exhaled, and popped the cap off of his pen. Opening his eyes, you could tell something had shifted in him. He was in his natural element now, and nobody could stop him from achieving his goal.

That goal just so happened to be mutilating some billionaire's robots.

"Let's have some fun," Percy said, charging the first LMD.

He was a flurry of motion. His fighting style was a mix from Greek, Roman, and modern martial arts that he had learned from Annabeth. He'd kick one adversary just to turn and thrust his sword into another one trying to attack him from behind.

"He's amazing," Bruce said in wonder, mesmerized by Percy's skill.

The son of Poseidon was relying only on his hand-to-hand and swordsmanship skills, rather than his powers, but that barely slowed him down. If the mortals wanted a display of his competence, then he would give them one.

Annabeth had a proud smile on her face as she watched Percy judo flip Natasha's robot over his shoulder and slammed it hard enough to the ground that it "died," ending his fight.

That had gone well, considering Percy's worries.

However, he knew better than to let his guard down just yet. As all demigods know, life never gives any breaks. That, and the Fates are cruel.

"Ok, guys. Let's take a lunch break, and then we'll do some more training, but this time, with only abilities," Steve said.

Percy had put his sword away, and was not standing in the viewing room with the rest of the heroes, mortal and demigod alike. All of the teens looked and felt exhausted, so it was a given to take a break.

"Got it, boss," Leo saluted, turning and exiting the room, heading no doubt in the direction of the kitchen.

"I guess that means we're leaving," Percy laughed. A real, genuine laugh.

It made Annabeth smile larger than she had in a long time. Improvement is always good.

Soon, everyone was gathered around the kitchen and living room area. Percy and Leo were scavenging for food while the Avengers and the rest of the Seven talked. So far, the hunt was not going as planned.

"Tony! Are you seriously telling me you're a billionaire, and you can't afford some decent Cheerios?!" Percy yelled.

"Yeah! Who goes grocery shopping around here?" Leo exclaimed, holding up the near-empty jug of milk.

The Avengers all looked at each other in confusion, "Who DOES go grocery shopping?" Bruce asked.

"Pepper, sometimes, I think. She must've been busy this week," Tony answered, "We can just order some Chinese or something for now."

"That should work, but if you're going to house these boys," Annabeth pointed to Percy, Leo, Jason, and Frank, "You're going to need a lot more food around at all times. Their appetites could rival that of an elephant."

Hazel let out a tiny laugh, realizing Annabeth's little pun about Frank. She received a small smirk in response.

"Teenagers," Tony muttered, rolling his eyes, "Always hungry."

"Now wait a second, Tony, I remember seeing you eat an entire large pizza by yourself just a couple weeks ago," Natasha remarked, smirking at her teammate.

Tony only glared in response, and then he told JARVIS to order lunch.

"Well, while we're waiting, I'll explain what our next exercise is," Steve said, "Basically, we're going to see and document your powers, but in a more controlled environment. You won't be fighting anything, but this will be more focused on precision than quantity. We need to know your full capabilities so that we know where to put you in a fight. Is that okay?"

He was asking their permission as more of a courtesy than an actual question, obviously, but the demigods still nodded their heads in confirmation. It wasn't like they couldn't leave at any time if things ever got too out-of-control.

Or at least, that's what they told themselves. In all honesty, nobody trusted each other yet. They could be shot down by the Avengers if they tried to run away, for all they knew, and that's what the scariest thing was. Neither group really KNEW the other group's intentions, only what they had told each other.

Everyone was walking on thin ice, whether it was known to them or not.

To get your mind off this stuff, how about Raph and his little boy (bc I rarely see him having a boy :( ) and his boy just inhutes himself but bc he's a mini Raphael he plays it off as nothing and then Raph finds out?

i'm assuming you mean raph's boy hurt himself because that's what's i'm going to do XD also, i had to name the children so it wouldn't be confusing to read. but you can pick and choose the names as you wish :)

"What's goin' on wit' ya?" Raph smirked at his son who softly groaned as he shifted himself on the couch. "Nothin pops, just tired" Zane rubbed his eyes, shifting the blanket further up his body. But it wasn't believable for Raph, after that training session with his cousin Zane seemed to be stuck on the couch immovable. Which was a weird thing, considering he had the energy of his uncle Mikey times 100.

"You okay, lil dude?" Mikey raised his eye ridges at the small boy who seemed to be in pain before looking at his brother. "Yeah, yeah. Fine" but he just brushed him off easily, trying to act unbothered but something was up with him. Raph knew when something was wrong and as if reading his thoughts, his older brother came into the living room with his twins and an angry/disappointed expression on his face.

"What's goin' on?" Raph raised an eyebrow at his nephew and niece who stared at the floor with guilt pratically radiating off of them. "Well Hana, Kameko, tell Raph what you told me" Leo sternly asked his twins who bit their lips nervously as they fidgeted. Zane glared at his cousins, feverishly shaking his head no rapidly behind his father's back. But there was no escaping the truth with the turtle brothers.

"Um...we-we told dad that... what would he do if someone cut themselves on a knife b-badly..." Hana spoke meekly, her back pressed against her father's legs in shame and nervousness. And the smirk Raphael held dropped in an instant, his amber eyes laying on his son once more.

"Guys! Why'd you do that?" Zane complained angrily, glaring at the two twins who couldn't meet his eyes. "Dad, I'm fine it's nothing" Zane tried to chuckle, but let out a series of coughs when he squeezed his stomach too hard.

"Pull your top up" Raph spoke quietly but firmly, crossing his wonderfully built arms over his chest. "B-but-" "Zane..." "But Hana is here!" "Now" Raphael ordered sharply, in a clear tone that he wasn't to be messed with in this moment. With a heavy sigh, he lifted the top over his body and Raphael refrained from saying anything when he saw the large cut on his son's body running from his chest to the lower belly. Leo could barely speak, his eyes narrowed in the cut his nephew had. Mikey let out a soft gasp at the blood and how angry the wound looked against his skin.

"S'nothing, dad. M'fine" Zane tried to chuckle making it lighter, yet the situation was anything but humorous. "How did you guys fix this?" Leo glanced down at his kids who toyed with their shirts. "We-we just kinda... stuck a bandage on it. I helped wrap it" Kameko spoke timidly, never seeing both his father and uncle so silent and angry.

"Donnie!" Raph yelled, seemingly breaking out of his momentarily trance and walking towards his kid. "Yo dad-" "Ya stay silent, Zane. Enough" Raph hissed, making his son sit gently on the sofa. He hushed, knowing full well how angry his own father was.

"What's wrong?" Donnie entered the living room, surprised to see his brothers staring at something with shock and anger. His own eyes widened when he caught sight of his nephew with a nasty wound on his stomach. "What happened??" Donnie exclaimed, peeling back the bandages as carefully as he could.

"Long story, can ya stitch him up?" Donnie looked at his his brothers eyes, knowing how nervous he was but played it off casually. He nodded, straightening his frame reaching his normal height.

"How-" strong arms held Zane's waist securely but gently in order to not touch the wound. "Dad! I can walk!" His cheeks went bright red, embarassed to be picked up by his father in front of his cousins but Raphael ignored it.

"Maybe if ya had listened to what I said, ya wouldn't be in this position" he spoke lowly, placing him down on the cot in Donnie's lab. His heart clenched when he saw his facial expression switch to pain as he shifted.

"Hold tight Z, I'm going to numb you" Donnie answered, cleaning around the cut. Raph sat down in the chair, on the other side. Zane's attitude and personality reminded him very much so of himself. Even if he was in staggering pain, he wouldn't show a sign of weakness to anyone. Because weakness meant failure. But that was in the past, before he met you and had his son. He vowed to protect you and his child with his life. But it was hard, considering his son would pull stunts like this and deem it acceptable to not tell anyone and allow the problem to disappear on its own. Was this how Leo felt?

"Okay, it's finished. Be sure to not apply any pressure or the stitches could very well come undone. You're going to be in pain, judging by the severity of the wound and the location of it" Donnie continued but Raph zoned out, waiting to talk to his son in private. "Hold on, I got to check something" and just like that, Donnie disappeared leaving Raph alone with his child.

"I know you're mad-" "Mad?? An understatement, Zane! What were ya thinkin'? I told ya not to touch the blade and whaddya do?? Touch them!" The lecture began, Raphael stood up and paced the floor like he always did when he was anxious and frustrated. All his son could do is sit and listen.

"But I'm fine-" "Are ya? Because those stitches and the bruisin' tell me otherwise! I know exactly how that must feel because I did the same thing when I was a kid, Zane. Don't try to kid me" he continued with his small rant, so scared over how he could have lost his child.

"And then ya go 'head and wrap this up like it couldn't have gotten infected and it couldn't have gotten much much worse-" "But it wasn't bad!-" "That's not the point! Not only have you disobeyed what I told us, but you hurt yourself and this isn't a minor injury either!" The tone of his increased and his glare only softened when he saw how small his son looked on that bed.

"Shit... what am I gonna tell your momma? She's already mad at me for even buying ya that thing. And now...." Raph sighed, pressing a hand to his temple already feeling a mild thumping there. He recalled how you didn't want any knives around the kids because they were reckless but Raph knew how it felt like to have so many restrictions and treated as though you were a baby. So the blade was in the room, but forbidden to be touched without any proper training. Zane looked to his lap, feeling so heavy with all the emotions. Trying to act all cool and badass wasn't worth the stress it came with. If he had listened to his father he wouldn't be sitting here with his stomach simultaneously on fire and in excruciating pain.

"But... you're okay. That's all that matters" Raph patted his son's shoulder comfortingly, running a hand through his locks. "M'sorry dad..." Zane whispered, feeling so defeated and Raph nodded, gently nudging his shoulder.

"S'fine, what's done is done. All that matters is ya, okay? If ya want ta hold the blades, ya need training. I'll train ya" Raphael kneeled to the ground, looking into his son's eyes with a half smile. "Really?" Raph let out a small chuckle when he saw the glimmer in his son's eyes.

"Really, really" he pecked his forehead, giving him a smile of his own. "But you're still grounded. And you have the honours of tellin' ya mom"

Chapter 4

Summary: Mia Bhatt spent years trying to escape her past, trying to escape the feeling of betrayal that was left in her heart after the fire, and she finally had. She was marrying the King of Cordonia and was finally going to get her happily ever after. But, after a momentary lapse in judgement caused her to send a wedding invitation to someone she was sure had forgotten about her, she realizes that sometimes the past has a way of crawling back to you.

Author’s Note: In this fic Anton and The Sons of Earth were caught before the wedding. Also this story will contain flashbacks that will be in italics.

“You need to learn how to defend yourself. C’mon, punch me,” Colt said, bouncing on the balls of his feet and raising both of his fists up in a fighting stance as he and Mia stood in the alley behind the auto shop.

“I’m not going to punch you,” Mia said, rolling her eyes at her best friend.

It was the summer before her freshman year of high school, and for some reason Colt had gotten it into his head that she needed to learn how to fight.

“Punch me,” Colt said, pushing her shoulder aggressively and causing her to take a step back.

“Colt, I don’t want to do this,” she whined, trying to sidestep him.

However, he stepped in front of her, blocking her way back to the garage and roughly pushing her shoulder again.

“Make a fist,” he said, pushing her repeatedly.

“Colt, leave me alone!” she said angrily, once again trying to move past him.

He blocked her path for the second time, and Mia let out an angry yell before reeling her fist back and punching him square on the nose.

“Ow! What the hell, Mellie?” he exclaimed, cupping his hand around his nose.

There was blood streaking down his face, and as much as Mia wanted to feel bad about it, she couldn’t help but let a laugh out instead.

“You wanted me to punch you,” she said, her voice laced with amusement as she massaged her now aching knuckles.

She moved around him and stalked back into the garage, Colt trailing behind her and grumbling softly. The two of them made their way into the breakroom where Teppei and one of his drivers were speaking in hushed tones.

“What happened here?” Teppei asked as Mia walked over to the fridge, grabbing a few ice cubes and wrapping them in a kitchen towel.

“Colt told me to punch him and I said no. But, then he kept asking me, so I punched him,” Mia said, holding back a smile as she swatted Colt’s hand away from his face and placed the ice on his nose.

He winced at the feeling, and she held back an amused smirk as Teppei took in the scene. The man’s own mouth was turned up into a smirk as well as his eyes looked back and forth between Colt’s bleeding nose and Mia’s now bruising knuckles.

“I think you broke it,” Colt complained as she continued to ice his injury.

“You told me to!” Mia said back, the two of them dissolving into an argument that was promptly broken up by the sound of Teppei’s slow laughter.

“Next time, don’t underestimate her, son,” he said, causing Mia to smile.

“He hates me,” Mia ranted as she took a swig of rum from the bottle in her hand.

She had just about tired herself out walking back and forth across the length of the room, but she still couldn’t stop pacing.

“He doesn’t hate you,” Leo tried to calm her down. “He just needs some time to process the fact that you were a badass growing up, and he was boring.”

“But, I wasn’t a badass!” she exclaimed. “I never actually did anything illegal. I just never turned the rest of them in!”

“Yeah, she was such a total goody two shoes,” Mona said, taking a swig of red wine straight from the bottle before passing it over to Olivia.

It was still fairly early in the afternoon, but after retelling their story, it was evident that they could all use something to take the edge off.

“He hates me, and now he’s going to divorce me,” she began rambling.

“Mia,” Toby called her name, but she continued pacing not listening to him.

“He hates me, and he’s going to divorce me, and now I’m never going to be happy ever again because I’m never going to get over him. How am I supposed to? He’s perfect and amazing and kind and sweet, but of course, I had to screw it up because I’m an idiot. I’m a big, dumb idiot,” she continued her words coming out in a messy jumble.

“Mia?” Liam’s voice broke through, causing her to jump in surprise. “Can we talk?”

Mia nodded and silently debated whether or not she should bring the rum with her, but soon decided against it and shoved the bottle into Colt’s hands before following Liam out of the room. She felt almost like a scared child as she followed him through the estate and to their bedroom. Liam led her out onto their balcony, and she looked up at him nervously.

“Do you hate me?” she asked quietly.

Liam let out a soft sigh and moved to stand in front of her, taking one of her hands in his.

“I don’t hate you, and I’m not going to divorce you, so you don’t have to worry about that.”

“Last night you said there was nothing I could say to make you stop loving me. Is that still true?” she asked, not sure if she wanted the answer or not.

“Of course, it is. But, you should have told me about this a long time ago,” he said.

“Would it have made you change your mind about wanting to marry me?”

Liam remained silent for a moment, and Mia felt her heart drop.

“Oh my god! Do you regret marrying me?”

“No! No, of course I don’t regret marrying you,” Liam said, a guilty look on his face when he saw the tears in her eyes. “It’s just a lot to take in.”

Liam pulled Mia into his arms and rested his chin on the top of her head.

“So, what now?” she questioned.

“Mia, your best friend tried to kill a group of police officers,” Liam said, a humorless laugh escaping his lips. “This is crazy.”

“Trust me, I know. But, I need you to believe me when I tell you that Colt isn’t a killer. He’s been there for me my whole life, and he’s one of the best people I know,” she said.

“How can you say that after what he tried to do?” Liam asked.

She could tell that he wasn’t trying to attack her, he just genuinely wanted to know. Mia pulled herself out of his arms and pulled Liam down next to her onto one of the chairs they had on the balcony.

“I can say that because of how well I know him. When I was growing up, Colt was the one person who always made me feel okay. He was always there to support me when I was sad, and when I was scared he always knew what I needed to make me feel better. When I needed a place to escape to, he and his father were always there for me. Teppei taught me how to drive cars, and Colt taught me how to drive motorcycles.”

“Growing up I always felt like there was something wrong with me because I was always so sad all the time, and I didn’t have any friends. But, when I was with Colt I wasn’t that weird girl that was always covered in bruises and didn’t talk to anyone. I was just Mellie, and I was happy. That’s why it hurt so bad when he left and never got in contact with me. I know this probably sounds like bullshit to you, but I know he’s not a killer. He was scared and cornered, but he’s not a murderer. I know it’s a fucked up situation and way of thinking about all of this, but I judge Colt based on the memories I have with him. I’m not saying that excuses the things that he’s done, but I’ve seen the good in him,” she said, tracing patterns on the palm of Liam’s hand as she spoke.

“I guess I can understand that,” Liam said, letting out a sigh. “My father was no saint, and he’s done his own share of terrible things, but at the end of the day he’s still my father.”

“Colt can be a hard person to get to know, but he’s a great guy,” she said. “I think the two of you could get along if you gave it a chance. He’s actually a bit like Drake in that sense.”

“Yeah, minus the willingness to murder,” Liam said, causing her to laugh.

“Yeah, minus that.”

“I’m still not one hundred percent sure that I’m okay with this, but if it’s that important to you, then I’d like to try getting to know him,” Liam said, giving her a soft smile.

“Thank you,” Mia said, getting up from her chair and settling into his lap. “I love you.”

“I love you too,” Liam mumbled, pulling her into a gentle kiss.

Mia melted against him, wrapping her arms around his neck as his went around her waist.

“Can you forgive me for not telling you sooner?” she asked hesitantly, running her fingers through the short hair at the nape of his neck.

“I understand why you were struggling with it. But, I don’t want you to keep anything else from me,” he said, pushing one of her curls behind her ear and stroking her cheek with his thumb.

“That’s a reasonable request,” she said with a smile, pressing another kiss to his lips.

After one last kiss the couple left the safety of their room and went back down to meet their friends.

“Hey, you two. Everything okay?” Annya said, giving them a kind smile.

“Everything’s fine,” Liam said, returning the gesture.

“No, it’s not fine. Not yet, anyway,” Mia said, her mind starting to reel upon seeing Colt again. She took a seat next to him and narrowed her eyes in suspicion. “There’s still one more thing. One more thing that I need to know. Why now? It’s been seven years, Colt. Why show up now?”

“I got your wedding invitation,” Colt said, shrugging passively.

However, he refused to make eye contact with her and that was his tell. He was never the type of person to shy away from confrontation. He had no trouble looking someone square in the eyes and speaking his mind freely.

“You’re lying. Please, just tell me the truth,” she said tiredly, her voice desperate.

Colt let out a dejected sigh and reached into his jacket pocket, handing her an envelope. The address to the P.O. box was on the front of the envelope, but there was no return address to indicate who or where it came from. Mia opened the envelope and pulled out the slip of white paper inside of it. There was an address scrawled on it in black ink, a Cordonian address. She furrowed her brows in confusion. She knew that handwriting. She had seen it countless times growing up.

“What is this?” she asked, her eyes widening in shock.

“I found it in the P.O. box the day I got your wedding invitation. At first, I thought you had sent it, but then I looked at the handwriting,” Colt said, his voice just barely above a whisper.

“No, that’s not possible. It has to be some kind of mistake or weird coincidence,” she said, handing it back to him and retrieving the bottle of rum she was drinking from earlier to take a gulp of the brown liquid.

“It can’t be a coincidence,” Colt said urgently, getting up and walking over to her. “I’ve been checking that P.O. box every few months for the past seven years. I’ve gotten all of the cards and letters you sent over the years, but you were always the only one to send me anything. It was always you until this. You know just as well as I do that this is his handwriting.”

“He’s dead, Colt! It can’t be his handwriting!” she said, grabbing the note out of his hand and looking at it once again.

“Mellie, I think Pop is still alive,” Colt said.

“No! That’s crazy! You guys said he got blown up!” she screamed, looking over to the rest of the crew for help.

Everyone was just staring at the two of them in shock, no one moving a muscle.

“Think about it. The three of us were the only ones who knew the address to that P.O. box. It has to be him,” Colt said.

“So, that’s why you came. Not because of me, but because you think your dad is here,” she said, angrily crossing her arms over her chest.

She was hurt all over again. She was angry with him for staying away for so long, and now the only reason he was here was because he had some crazy idea that his dad was in Cordonia. To Mia it felt like he had just confirmed that she meant nothing to him.

“No! I’m here because of you. We both are,” Colt said, grabbing a hold of her arm and forcing her to look at him.

“What do you mean you both are?” she asked.

“The day after the fire and everything at the casino, I went to the bank to see what he had in his safety deposit box. I figured it was only a matter of time before the cops came after me, and I needed to see if he had anything useful there, anything valuable before they started monitoring his accounts and property. I found this,” Colt said, pulling two more pieces of paper out of his pocket.

“How big are your pockets?” Mia asked, grabbing the items from him and turning them over to see that they were pictures.

The first one was of her, Colt, and Teppei. She was no more than five years old, which meant that Colt was about seven. She was resting on top of Teppei’s shoulders, holding onto the sides of his head, and the man had one hand wrapped around her leg which was dangling against his chest. Colt was hugging his father’s leg tightly, and Teppei had his other hand resting on his son’s back. They were all smiling widely at the camera. They all looked so happy.

The second picture was of Mia as a baby. She was wrapped in a small white blanket, and someone was holding her. You could only see the person’s hands in the picture, but it was obvious that it was Kaneko. His shirt sleeves were rolled up, and his MPC tattoo was visible on his arm.

“So your dad’s known me since I was a baby. We already knew that,” she scoffed, handing him back the pictures.

“Oh my god,” Annya gasped, getting up to approach the two of them.

She rested her hand on the side of Mia’s face and looked at her closely before turning to her son. The two shared a knowing look, and Mia saw tears well up in the older woman’s eyes.

“Okay, what the hell is going on?” Mia demanded, looking at the two of them expectantly.

“You really haven’t figured it out? Why do you think Pop was always so nice to you?” Colt asked.

“Because he felt bad for me?” she said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

“He wasn’t the type to pity people. But, he was always different with you. He always took care of you. If you wanted something he didn’t hesitate to give it to you. You probably didn’t notice because it was usually something small like ordering your favorite takeout for dinner. Or, if it was more expensive, a lot of the time he tried to pass it off as something you needed, like a car to get you back and forth to school or a laptop so you could do your homework. I used to get jealous when we were kids because I thought he liked you better than me,” Colt said softly, looking down at his feet in embarrassment.

“I don’t understand what you’re trying to get at. Can you just say what you need to say?” Mia asked.

Ellie walked up to them and handed Mia one more piece of paper.

“I found this at the bank too,” Colt finished, looking intently at her face as she read over the document.

“Is this my birth certificate? I’ve never seen it before,” she said, reading over it curiously.

She scanned the document with a smile, reading over the county, city, and hospital name. However, her chest began tightening as she looked over to the section where her parents’ names were located. Her mouth went dry as she read out the name of her father.

“Teppei Kaneko.”

SPN Season 15 Spoiler Sheet, update 11/18

Some updates including an ep 7 description, some guesses on the writer/director for 12, and some vague filming info for 11. I feel unsure about Misha’s status in eps 9-11, so if anyone knows differently, let me know. Might have to wait for episode descriptions on that. Also, I added in some guesses on airdates based on this post, but they are not for certain. And no photos for 6 yet, but they will likely post 30 seconds after I post this.

There is hope to wrap up some Wayward Daughters storylines in the back half of the season

They are adding a whole extra day to filming to do the final scene. They will film the final scene last. (Implies logistics- lots of returning people?)

Brad Bucker used the word “romance” when asked about Sam and Dean’s arcs. Did not specify who.

In an interview, Kripe indicated that the series ending would have “peace” for Sam and Dean

Not much new at the TCA’s, but it was said it is “unlikely” Jeffery Dean Morgan will be back since his last appearance was such a good end note. There were some jokes about a Castiel spin off. Hell, I’d watch.

According to Dabb, Sam and Dean are going to start to lose people who, in past seasons, we would’ve never lost — and lose them in a very real way. Our guys are going to realize there’s a certain finality, and some of the things they’ve relied on to get through the day — people, talents, things like that — they are no longer going to be able to roll out. And that’s going to throw them for a loop

Also according to Dabb, Jack is still in the empty and “he’s not coming back in the near future”

Cas’ deal with the Empty may come up later in the season.

Dabb intimated that Chuck was inherently responsible for killing Mary when asked how the boys would respond to Jack.

Adam Rose, who played Aaron Bass from the golem episode vauge-tweeted about working a show with two badass leads. Could be Supernatural, but I think the timing is off- he indicated he was filming late Friday night.

Dabb compared Chuck and John Winchester, claiming that Dean would have to break free of “conditioning.” Also, for Jack “there have been cosmic forces fighting for his attention since he was in the womb — and that will continue. As much as this season is about Sam and Dean finding agency, it’s also about Castiel finding agency, and it’s about Jack finding agency. As always, death is never the end. It’s just part of the journey and that’s certainly true with Jack.”

Per Variety: At the outset of the season, the “Supernatural” foursome of Dean, Sam, Castiel and Jack are split up, but Dabb notes they won’t be for long because “ultimately this is a found family, and they have deep emotional bonds” that make up the most important part of the show.

According to the MarySue and other interviews, Sam’s bullet hole will give him a connection and insight to god- like a tin can telephone string.

At a convention, Jake Abel was asked to share two lies about Adam’s return and a truth. The said 1. Adam is not upset about hell 2. Adam kills someone 3. Adam bring someone back. I am assuming its the bring someone back (Micheal?)

In one of his cookbook interviews, Misha used the word “we” several times when talking about the final scene of Supernatural. He said that would be the last scene they shoot. It seemed to imply that he was in the scene, but that could be open to interpretation.

The finale will air on Monday May 18th. The show will move to Mondays when it comes back on March 16th. It’s gotta come back either than that and go on a mini break or something, because that is not enough Mondays.

Veronica Mars!

my all time ultimate fave character

Veronica Mars seems like the obvious answer, and is also true. I love that she’s a character with a lot of flaws, and they aren’t glossed over (for the most part). It’s also neat to see a female character who is strong and badass without super powers, she uses her brain, and people underestimating her to get results.

a character I didn’t used to like but now I do

I mean, I guess Logan? At the start of the first season, he was a jackass, and you know, like the bum fighting is a tough thing to move past. But like most of the rest of the fandom, I grew into a LoVe shipper. It helps if you sort of ignore the whole bum fighting thing and a number of other character moments from the first season.

A character I used to like but now I don’t

Leo. Listen I thought Leo was the cutest in season 1. Yes I’m aware a cop dating a high school student wasn’t ideal (but the age difference was only 17 and 20 ok! And I was young myself when I first started watching). Anyways, I thought they were cute and even though I like LoVe, I was a little sad when Leo was shoved aside. However, the whole stealing and selling the Aaron Echolls/Lily Kane tapes made me dislike him. Not only was it dumb as shit, it made no sense. He could have made copies and sold it to the tabloids if he wanted to make money, it made no sense to steal the originals too. And then on top of that, after being fired he’s later supposed to be in the FBI? No, dumb.

Duncan. He’s boring as shit and Teddy Dunn can’t act.

Meg fucking Manning! Seriously? Meg is the sweetest girl in school, a popular girl that reaches out to prickly Veronica and is a good friend to her throughout the first season. She’s sweet, but cool, and an all around good person who also calls Veronica on her shit, but the only thing they can think to do with her is knock her up with Duncan’s love child and then put her in a fucking coma, so she can incubate the baby before waking up for one minute and then dying of a blood clot???? Eww. Do better.

Logan/Kendall too obviously. I mean ew. Don’t sleep with your friend’s stepmother.

a favorite storyline/moment

The entire Lilly Kane murder mystery storyline from the first season. Lilly was such a compelling character, and Veronica’s personal connection to the case gave it weight. It was a satisfying mystery.

a storyline that never should have been written

But besides that, every single storyline that involved Veronica tolerating/being friends with Dick Casablancas. She carries her hatred of Madison throughout the entire show (and like Madison is awful) but she pals around with Dick? Dick is the one who, to my knowledge, was planning to drug his own girlfriend without her knowledge, which resulted in Veronica getting drugged. I never understood why Madison got the blame and not Dick? It was always my impression that Madison didn’t know there was liquid X in that drink. Plus, I mean Dick is just a truly awful person all around and that was overlooked because everyone wanted to keep Ryan Hansen around I guess?

my first thoughts on the show

Yes! I can’t believe I didn’t watch this when it aired it’s so freaking good. I was gone from the moment Veronica opened her locker and said “well this is a little embarrassing” with a picture of Vice Principal Clemmons in her locker no nothing else.

I wish I hadn’t watched season 4. But seasons 1 and 2 are still some of my fave television

dark!dany:i mean i knew it was coming before i even finished what maybe season 3? so i was probably more prepared than other people but honestly? i don't really know how to summarize my feelings lmao. on one hand it was really hard to watch because her speech in 8x06 really had like hitler characteristics (i actually read that she let herself be inspired by him for her character) which is like.. fucked up lmao but on the other hand i'm not surprised that it happened? especially considering everything she went through. like don't get me wrong i still stan her and i always will but i can't understand stans who are like MaD qUeEN whO ShE NeVeR wAs like even in early seasons she had light tendencies that could've foreshadowed all of this. " i will take what's mine with fire and blood i will take it" was it rushed? could it have been better written? absolutely. i think she always had the one or the other in her corner to keep her in check and not do stupid shit like kill everybody but when they die and she's all alone it's kind of... hard mhhh lmao like i'm not a super obsessed got fan so i'm not really mad about s8 in general i'm more chill about it so you won't see me writing metas after metas to prove how shitty s8 was, but yeah. i definitely understood where dark!dany came from in general i don't really like how it was written though (but emilia definitely nailed her last couple scenes)phoebe halliwell's relationship:if i'm being honest i don't really care about any romantic relationships on charmed besides piper x leo. lmao i do see the appeal in some of phoebe's relationships though and i always thought it was unfair that she was the one going through 5 episodes relationships and experiencing all the more or less intense heartbreak. i found it really annoying how they had phoebe obsessing over finding the right partner and getting pregnant and basically counting the days to when her baby would be born like.....yikes. i do understand that things were different a couple of years ago, but it really makes you think like did the writers really think that's a woman only purpose? to get pregnant and find a man to marry? like i guess some of it was also for comedic purposes but mostly it was just a big yikes from me. ngl a year ago if you'd asked me about endgame phoebe x coop i would have said ZzZZ next idc, but rewatching the show recentely i actually found their scenes to be really cute nothing where i'm like OMGgggGg shiP!!! but cute ? yeah. but i'm still mad that it was so last minute and that we didn't have the chance to warm up to him (they maybe had like 5 episodes? and then they got married lmao) like hey writers? maybe thought about letting her end up alone? we dont need men to be happy sis (but i guess it wouldve been weird since paige and piper all ended up marrying someone)romantic!jonerys:honestly... idc lmao. the scene they had on the bed where she was like i hope i deserve it and how sorry he was for the dragon she lost i was like awwww cute i like them and i really liked them together when they were fighting someone like THE BADASSness but then they f*cked and i was like uhh.. okay not my thing lmao. i just started reading the books and something will probably happen between them as well but when i talked about it with you you said the show really rushed this relationship so i expect it to be more developed and better written in the books Send me a ☕️ and a topic and I’ll talk about how I feel about it lol

Mutirr Ninama Introduction

Hello everyone! Mod Leo back at it again, with ((INTERESTING CONTENT)).

As I told you in my last post about Namurr, “I will talk about her dancestor next”. I may have not said exactly that but that’s what I meant. So as you could guess by now, I will be talking about Mutirr Ninama, dancestor of Namurr Ninama. Just like in my last post, I will split her introduction into three parts:

1.Basic informations

Mutirr is just like her descendant a teal blooded troll, slightly older though, of a few earth years. Something I didn’t mention in Namurr’s intro is that their lusus, Tigermom, isn’t the very best mom. Actually, in the two different universes, the lusii are totally different, fitting their kids’ personality. So obviously, Mutirr’s one is terrible as she is herself pretty terrible, but you’ll find about it in the personality part. Anyway onto some realy basic stuff. Mutirr comes from Mutir in arabian, (i’m not sure i can write it in occidental alphabet, it’s kinda weird), and it means awesome. As you could guess by now, Mutirr is awesome! Her look could make you think about Vriska, but she’s actually much more than that. Okay maybe she’s a bit similar but please stay :( Her ego is pretty damn huge, and a prophecy telling that she will have wealth, fame, love from a whole new universe she would create just boosts her up.

The first guardian of beforus in this timeline (aka the best person ever) told her that she would soon (a few sweeps later actually) wear some sort of light blue outfit with a long hood. The first guardian even showed her how it was, so she decided to ask her jadeblood girlfriend to sew it, and she’s just wearing a fake Thief of Breath outfit all the time, thinking she’s better than everyone else, when she clearly isn’t, as at least one person is better than her and you’ll find out later about him. She’s pansexual like a lot of trolls that aren’t fan service (lanque), but she is way more into girls, as she only wishes to be in quadrants with boys in the concilliatory part, because she doesn’t really think boys can really love her the way she loved some of them.

Mutirr isn’t living in a forest like her descendant but downtown, in a large building with basically everything she has ever wanted. But teal bloods are related to justice, you may be thinking behind your screen. Well indeed, as I made Namurr neutral about justice (I actually didn’t think it was important), I needed to make Mutirr some sort of related to justice. But tell me, what justice hobby/job would fit a strong girl, craving for fame and adoration, and that has a badass costume? A super-hero of course! Mutirr is called the Blue Tornado (hey i’m mod leo and i am not original). Okay she doesn’t have any powers, and some villain may have some, but she’s strong and agile so she can easily deal with the worst of situations. But like a lot of super heroes, she’s masked, or at least she pretends she is, as she is constantly wearing heartshaped glasses, as if it was hiding her identity, but she just loves them too much to take them off, even when she isn’t working. The city is actually paying her to beat some asses, since the beforian society tries its best to be pacific, yet so many injustices are still commited, and yet beforian are still trolls, who are violent by nature.

2. Personality

Mutirr is a very open minded person that is always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needs it for love/admiration in return. As I said earlier, she is craving for fame and love of the people, and she just wouldn’t be able to live without it.

As the years (or sweeps actually) passed, she became more and more full of herself, since people kept on finding her interesting and special thanks to her wonderful talking skills and manipulating skills. But when she became a hero, her ego skydropped to the size of the universe, as not only people she barely knew would love her, but also every citizen she would save or that would see then talk about her to their friends. Quickly she became so popular that she just didn’t give any attention to people who genuinly loved her as a friend or as a lover, which led her straight to the depth of loneliness, which made her hate the people. But one day, she met a great man, after she had given up on everything, and that man made her go right back to the top, and she managed to stay a nice, yet still fame craving person.

From all of this, we can point out a few things. She’s quite selfish, as she grew more and more full of herself as people gave her more and more credit, that her attitude can easily get rid of her friends/lovers, and that most of all, she found a place to be around where she won’t be considered as a super hero but as an asshole and as equals with her friends, and that’s our group of beforian trolls.

During her period of decay, Mutirr could switch girlfriend (mostly girls i already said it) like socks, and it got her to think that love wasn’t actually that important, but thankfully she got her eyes opened by some badass jadeblood, not the one that sewed the outfit, she got dumped because it had a few defects. Anyway, even if she depends on her fans, Mutirr can be pretty independant for a while, she can do basically anything by herself, and if she put her mind to do something, no one should dare suggest their help as they’d get destroyed from head to toes. I think I don’t have much else to say about her personality, and you can always ask for stuff you want to know through asks!

3. Miscelllaneous content and info about sburb

When she got into the game for the first time, she was brought in by her girlfriend you’ll see last, since she’s my latest oc :P Unlike Namurr, she was a great asset to the team, and she was actually one of the people that moved her to do something of her life as a saviour of the world. She kind of despises her, but she thinks her matesprite is even worse, and she got in a kismesissitude with her soon after meeting the couple.

As for when she got to GODHOOD, no one killed her, sacrificed her or anything, she decided to kill herself. Having anotherself being way too mainstream for her, she killed herself on her questbed and turned into godtier with her derse self. Surprisingly enough, she didn’t get a brand new outfit for the new level of awesomeness she got, but just her old outfit with that magical enchantement to kep it clean as an extra. Maybe some sort of karma for dumping the girl that made it, we’ll never know, most probably.

Just like Namurr, her planet is the Land of Spirit and Skies (just switched from namurr’s one) and her quest is exactly the same.

I already sent you the list of male characters, so here's a list of our amazing GA women to try to rank from your favorite to least favorite, no ties allowed! :) Meredith, Cristina, Bailey, Izzie, Callie, Lexie, April, Jo, Arizona, Maggie, Amelia, Teddy, Addison, Erica. I realized while typing this that overall I love the way GA writes its female characters a lot more than its male ones, btw

Oh honey, same! Here’s my list, whoch has some Solid Reasons but the main one is who makes me recreate this gif:

More enthusiastically, which is very personal, otherwise by level of awesomeness it’d be, like, a 10-way tie!

1 - Meredith. I feel in love with her in the first ep and that has only grow exponentially over the last 15 seasons. Is she perfect? As far for it as possible. She can be harsh and inconsiderate of other people’s feelings, she can be arrogant and agressive. I know that. But I also feel she’s the character who’s the most aware of her own flaws and who actively tries to overcome them. Her whole relationship with Derek was a six season long of her working over her issues until she felt ready to be more intimate and close to someone and marry him. I feel like everyone is a little too harsh on her (main character curse). Every other person on the show is allowed to have bad days, to lash out and mourn and be sefish whrn they’re going through a lot (i mean, Amy has a whole speech to Mer about how “she’s never lost the love of her life” and “she doesn’t know how that messes a person up, and yet I see so many people agreeing with that and hating Mer when she was the one in Amy’s position and also took some less than stellar, hurtful decisions) but Mer, who has quantitatively gone through the most (not a competition because I feel she, Jo and Amy are on equal footing, just by sheer number of bad things), is called whinny, bitchy, cold, uncaring, when she is anything but! She cares so freaking much she’s willingb to go to any distance! Donating her liver to her stranded father because of her loved little sister? Risking her job and career for someone she loves? Risking her life/career/license for patients? Welcomig people in her home with open arms? Operating through a miscarriage while her husband lies dying on the next OR? Being a great friend who defends, sticks by, forgives, comforts and protects who she loves from abusive exes, jail, judgment or tests? She has done all that and more. Also, she’s so empathetic/compassionate! She refused to bet on George’s failure on season one, she was the only one to try and shield that “tumor pregnancy” patient from judgment, she was the only one (not her best and oldest friend or hes husband, Mer) to get Jo to talk after she became depressed, she defended Cristina’s choice to Owen even if that was not what she’d personally do (she had tried so hard for a baby! She went out of her way to adopt Zola!) not just because she had empathy for the fetus that would grow to mimic her own situation, but for the woman who would mimic her mother’s (also, low-key one of the best speeches, damn)! She feels everyone’s pains and tries her best to help! She’s dorky and fun and smiles so often, no matter how bad her life has been! She pushes people to be their best (Alex, Cristina, Jo). She’s a great teacher! Also, one of the things that make me the softest is how she recognizes the flaws in her upbringing and tries her best to correct them and not continue that bad cycle with her own children! When she’s mad and needs to be alone, she tells Zola “you’re perfect, and mommy needs a minute”. When she’s dating, she puts her kid’s feelings first and foremost! When she’s away from them, she misses them like crazy! She talks about them with a brilliant, vivid smile! All of her relationships are fantastic (she’s such a people-person, as much as she tries to cover it up and doesn’t know how to truly express it) and some criminally underrated. She’s a kind, brilliant, loving, still flawed, beautiful woman who deserves the world and more, and I’m on Meredith Grey’s defense squad from now till forever!

2 - Arizona. As a bubbly blonde wlw who’s interested in being a pediatric surgeon, has authority+parental issues and an older sibling she loves, Arizona is one of those “I see myself in them” characters that just make me so happy! I felt both represented and inspired to try my best, to be at the top of my game but jot let go of my humanity and compassion and happiness. It’s weird because I didn’t quite like her in the first few eps she appeared, as she was rude and biphobic and kinda crass. Then she grew on me enormously. I think her relationships are all so criminally underrated, and that she should come back with Callie and Sophia and April in tow and make my day. I suffered when she suffered, and when she smiles, I feel lighter and happier, truly! She showcases some important messages! I have said this in a previous post, but I love that she... Came into the show and left pretty much the same. Her arc wasn’t as much about change as it was about finding herself again, glueing her pieces back together again. She entered a bubbly, hardcore, brilliant peds surgeon who had a very strong, clear set of values, was able-bodied, enamorated with Callie Torres and didn’t want to have children, out and proud and beautiful. She left a bubbly, hardcore peds+fetal surgeon, a mother, with a very strong, clear set of values, woman with a disability, enamorated with Callie Torres, out and proud and beautiful. Some things changed and she grew, like any healthy, normal human being, but seeing her get lost in such a dark place where so litte of the true Arizona showed through and then have her come back to who she truly was, stronger and wiser and more determined, really puts out a hopeful message that I adore.

3 - Amelia. Has she been inconsistent? Did they apparently slap the tumor storyline on her already suffering character just to make up for it? Yeah. But overall I completely adore Amy. She has been through so much, so repeatedly, and I’m amazed at how she’s still... Such a deeply good person. She smiles and laughs and cares and helps and works and saves and emphatisazes and worries and loves. She’s adorable with children and so loving with Mer’s. She’s kind to the point of almost being a pushover, but knows when to stand up for herself. I adore her and Mer’s relationsjip and wish it was a lot more developed! I love those two strong, tragedy-plaged women having each other as a support system! I love how soft she is with Maggie, how she’s so considerate of her! I love how she fughts to be in Leo’s life! I love how she worries about what’s best for everyone! And I hope she has a lot of good coming her way those next seasons. She deserves the world.

4 - Maggie. She’s such a breathe of fresh air! She’s bubbly and awkward and stuttering and idealistic and worry-prone! She is learning! She feel so real, so relatable! Can she be annoying? Sure! A lot of the times! I have been annoyed with her a lot! But there are so many characters who have that flaw and worse and are so loved, why is she so scorned? Being brilliant, young, still figuring things out, hard-worker, sensitive, those are not flaws or bad things. Maggie deserves a world of happiness and some kids of her own to smother with that gentle love of hers, and to have more developed relationship with everyone in that show. Also, the lady-chief trifecta gives me life! She’s a good balance to all thsoe tragedy-stricken, life-weary people at GSMH and I stand by that.

5 - Bailey is fantastic and badass and one part of a powercouple that owns my heart and a goddamn talented surgeon and an adorable mother and probably gives the best hugs and the actress is SO DAMN TALENTED like that eye acting? A MASTERPIECE. She’s also one of the hearts of the show and it’d not be the same without her. She reminds me a lot of Peggy Carter - golden hearted badassess who’ve been put through the ringer by people who ask her to measure up to her male (and, in bailey’s case, white) colleagues - and who not only does it but is usually better than then. Not gonna lie, when she got chief, I felt like it had been my own flesh and blood being promoted to her dream job! But I don’t feel like it did her too well (neither does the narrative, apparently, since they had her get a heartattack and a sabatical and relationship problems because of it). I know it wont happen but I wish she’d, like, take a nice trip, maybe write a book, vacay, breath, work on her mental health and come back feeling good and ready to take on the world! One of the scenes that makes her be so awesome to me is her talk with Cristina when they’re both pregnant: Bailey, cuddling her stomach and loving her unborn baby, telling Cristina (wary and tired and absolutely not wanting to be carrying a fetus) that no one can judge her for her choice and that she is able to make that choice! Talk about supporting women on different paths than you! What pushes her “ranking” a bit lower on my list than what it’d have been in the first seasons is that the fandom put her on such a pedestal that she cannot be or do no wrong, ever, and that quickly makes me sick of a character. Bailey commits insurance fraud (changing the hour on a surgery so it’d be covered) to help a patient? Have never seen anyone even comment on it. Mer/Alex do the same? Oh nooooo, go off on them, Bailey! Bailey’s such a hardass she’s nicknamed “the Nazi”? BADASS (and she was). Any other character is hard on their interns/residents? Monsters, bitches, poor things. It’s more an issue with the fandom, ofc, but well, that has made me hate characters I previously loved, so I’m really sad it happed to her (not that I hate her, I love her, I’ve just became annoyed with the character), and with characters that become “mouthpieces” to the narrative (wanna show the character is wrong? Have Bailey yell at them, even if Bailey might be on their side/not care/have done the same or similar/isn’t that close to them) and thus, loose a bit of their authenticity. Plus, there’s this one thing that’s core to her personality and makes me annoyed (probs irrationally): any doctor: screws up bailey: I RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THIS. Like, you... Didn’t? They were grown-ass adults when they came to know her, were her interns for... Under a year? (it felt like a long time to us but the first three seasons were a year and they had vacation and she went on maternity leave). And then went their merry ways with her being a resident and them too (not to count the ones that weren’t even her interns, like April and Jackson. Plus, have you considered that with all their screw-ups (and there have been maaaaany), she should either realize that she isn’t responsible for their actions and stop pulling that tired, over-used, untrue card, or that she might not have “raised” them so well, if she insists that’s what she did? I get the feeling and it’s sweet, just... not True and kinda overused.

6 - Lexie. Death I cried the hardest. She was such a baby, trying her goddamn best! So smart, so kind, so passionate! I also really identified wither her “dorky, clumsy younger sibling who most people would (wrongly) name “the smart one”, the overeating and the romanticism and the passionate arguing over facorite characters). She’s just not quite as far up on my list because A) It’s been so long and I’m not yet on my rewatch where she shows up, so I feel like I might be glorifying/glossing over her flaws, B) Her immaturity in the relationship with Mark is annoying, C) The fandom glosses over all her flaws and always, always, always places her as 100% the only, sole, victim, which turns me off a lot, D) She was kind of a Mary Sue. I mean, photographic memory that allows her borderline superpowers and being so sweet it was almost nauseating and never being wrong and being irresistible and and and...and E) SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO DIE LIKE THAT AND BREAK MY GODDAMN HEART.

7 -Callie! My sweet angel Callie! She’s just... I don’t even have words! Her relationships are all funny and amazing and I loved her from when she first appeared, as much as she’s changed throughout the seasons! I love that she is selfless and brave and wild and fun and quitky. It breaks my heart to see her sad, and I’ll never forgive her mother for the treatment of her! She definetly deserves better. I am so sad she’s not on the show anymore, just hope that she’s happy with Ari and their kid (s? Now? Maybe? Wouldn’t that be great?).

8 - Cristina. He character is refreshing, because she is allowed. To continue not being a people person. To have moments and realizations and weakness without taking a 180° turn and going from a type A to B in a second with no explanation (like in every Holidays movie in which a successful business woman who’s dedicated herself to her career all her life moves to a small city and suddenly, after meeting one “soft”guy, is a farm girl at heart who wants to have ten children and a traditional wedding and quit her job to stay-at-home because reasons). To have an abortion. To continue not wanting children. To marry and divorce and still be a whole person. To have her years of sacrifice and hard work pay off with the biggest career glow-up. Sandra’s acting knocks it out of the park, too, there’s no contest. Also, for a “robot”, she has some of the most emotional, deep, telling scenes in the show! Taking care of Mer before the boards even if it might mean she’d get sick too? Her scene with George’s dad? Crying to Webber because she “lost her edge?” The “i’m free” scene? Talking about her father? Ugh, my heart! I placed her “low” (Still top ten female characters and top ten Grey’s characters tho) because, as amazing as she is, she also reminds me a lot of people that ruined my life or made it miserable. That sass and arrogance and and self-centered tendencies might be endearing in-character but irl, I’d suffer if I had to be around her. Also, because I’m too much a Mer stan (and I admit that this point is a total bias), I kinda still can’t let go of their fight in season 9 (when Mer had Bailey and Cristina felt left out and just... Was not nice about it). Humans make mistakes! She wasn’t 100% in the wrong! Mer said some crap too! But as I said, this is based on feelings more than fact and that one fight left me so uncomfortable and I felt Cristina crossed some really personally-important-to-me lines. Plus, there’s this glorification some things of her that just... Make me angry. This is coming from someone from a family with lots of doctors, who’s studying to be a doctor, who’s had all her teachers stop in class to beg us to ask for help and work on our mental health, whose choice in profession was the reason the university kick-started one of the country’s first mental health support system for students (that now includes all curses but was created for Med students): The profession is sick. Doctors are suicidal and overworked and unhealthy and tired and dropping dead like freaking flies, and that’s even worse in surgeons. My uncle (also a cardiologist, funnily enough) died at fifty from a heart attack because he worked himself to death. My aunt died from a manageable condition in a minor procedure because she let it go on to long before treating (working). My other aunt has lost many close doctor friends to heart problems. My cousin and another uncle are depressed. My sister almost developed a tachycardia from trying to stay awake using energetics during her residency. My class is all physically sick (I’m writting this from bed) because we’re so overwhelmed with a course that’s not only integral but demands so much, and we’re just students. A doctor in my city died with his son in a car crash that left his daughter severely injured and on the brink of death coming back from the beach in the middle of the night because he was going to be on-call!

(Had to split it in paragraphs bc tumblr) Two doctors under forty-five died from sudden heart failures from being over-worked this year! And that’s just in my city (which is not a big city! At all) ! And being like Cristina (obsessed, power-hungry, sleeping at the hospital, eating basically crap to save time, havingonly one really close friend to the point that when they fought, living at the hospital, feeling like surgery is the only thing that completed her) is a recipe to disaster. You know what the profession also is? Divided. From the society that some consider they are “a gift to” to other health professions that they put themselves on a pedestal away from and everyone else is inferior, and from themselves, students that sabotage each other or refuse to colaborate and thus create teams that don’t work together, doctors that don’t communicate, don’t appreciate each other’s specialties and knowledge and help. Cristina doesn’t meet all that criteria, but some really remind me of her. So it kills me when I hear people say she was the best doctor, because she reminds me of so much that’s just... Wrong, that I see everyday, and it frustrates me. That is incredibly personal, and applying too much of the optics of reality to the show, but it’s my truth, and no matter how iconic the character is, I can’t shake it off.

9 - Jo. Baby girl is so ready to take on the world! I said this in my “Meredith x People” post, but Jo reminds me a lot of Mer! Same fierceness, stubborness, same rough edges, talented, caring, protective. Love her and Camilla’s acting makes her one of the deepest, most fascinating characters, and her storylines tell so many important messages! I just... Don’t have a lot to say about her, now that I’ve come to think about it, I feel like she’s pretty self-explanatory. Loved her-centric eps!

10 - Erica. I didn’t understand then and don’t understand now why the fuck is there so much hatred for her! She stood up for her rights! She didn’t take Cristina’s crap like everyone else (Cristina has her quirks and was bound to meet someone with whom they clashed who wouldn’t stand for it! That happened to be Erica!) She was ethical! She was so sweet with Callie! She was a great doctor! She wanted the hospital to be great and was willing to work for it! I feel like the main factors in it are that back then we were told, through the narrative, that we should and we were all young so we accepted that, and because the actress isn’t one of those bombshell model-likr beauties. Had it been, like, Jessica playing her in a more recent season, I doubt she would be that hated! Anyhow, I miss her.

11 - Addison. She was so great! Maybe not my favorite, but she had great moments and was criminally underrated! Maybe one day her coming back won’t be a delusion and I’ll have more to say here. What I do have to say is that she can be another example of the “show’s mouthpiece”, at least in regards to Derek. Like, we have her come back to Seattle and promptly scream at Mer for “letting Derek go” like he was the best thing in the world (lmao) without even knowing what had happened when... In reality... She literally cheated because she felt neglected and forgotten in their marriage, had a talk to Mer where she learned Derek had hurt her too... It feels cheap and unauthentic and gets in the way of my immersion.

12 - April. I can feel the confusion at why she’s ranking so low, but... April never really spoke to me. She had good moments, she was sweet, a good doctor, had great relationships and went through bad things, but in none of those moments was I standing up on my seat like I was with others. She went through a journey like Arizona’s, to find herself after something terrible instead of to change who she was, but still she’s called “the biggest evolution” by some fans and I just... Don’t see that (maybe it’s because Sarah Drew got even prettier with time so it was a visual evolution). I like her well enough. Lets put it that way: I’d not be at all opposed if she came back into the show, but I’d be also disappointed it wasn’t some other character I love more. I widh he had gotten more of her, actually! I’d probably like her more! I wanted more developed relationships, like with Mer (we could have had it aaaaaaaalllll x3) or Owen (they were in a war zone together and we barely see the aftermath besides a couple scenes with her telling hima bt the baby and at her first wedding), maybe with Riggs and Alex and even more fleshing out of Japril instead of more drama! She’d feel more real and appealing. Plus her whole storyline with taking the position of head of surgery and switching sides after she’d been one of the main advocators for Webber, then refusing to acknowledge she might not have been the nicest for it, kinda threw me off a bit (not a lot, it just felt random? Like, didn’t feel like something she’d do, but I didn’t think I knew enough about her to say it wasn’t, for sure?).

13 - Izzie. Again, she never appealed to me personally. She had amazing moments, but they were just moments. Opening a multi-million dollar beneficiary clinic? Top shelf-good. But she also had bad moments and, more importantly, bad patterns. She judged and judged Mer’s inappropriate relationship, almost got to the point of talking about it around the hospital to get her in trouble, called her a slut basically to her face, and whined about George’s “too fast, not based on anything” relationship... But would not accept to be judged on her own, even more inappropriate (and illegal) and equally rushed relationship. She did not approve when someone made a decision that she would not have made. She berated Meredith’s and Cristina’s close friendship like she was entitled to the same treatment and like she also didn’t have a best friend. I was bored by her most of the times, angry others, and only rarely pleased/happy/empathetic with.

As you can see, I only dislike the very last place, and hate none, so go girls! Hope you liked this!
