My thoughts on episode 6
SPOILERS for season 3, episode 6 of the Animaniacs reboot
My goodness, this episode was a well-needed pick-me-up! I loved everything about it!
Watching this episode will greatly reduce my potential of being spoiled further, since this is where like 70% of the unmarked spoiler screenshots I've seen come from. People just love posting their out-of-context Warner abominations.
Tumblr media
Even from the first moment I saw it, I thought the mini tongue Wakko was kind of cute.
Tumblr media
And Yakko heeling his siblings, just like it's supposed to be! I loved the twist of them actually being kind of friendly, just needing an older brother to keep them in check. That's what the Warners should be about.
Tumblr media
HE HOLDS THEM BY THE SCRUFF LIKE A MAMMA KITTY!
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THE TINY WAKKO HEAD! *melts of cuteness*
Tumblr media
And a clever way for them to come back, with the mention of jelly donuts.
Tumblr media
Great cold opening. The alien Warners are cute in a terrifying kind of way. But that could also describe the regular Warners just as well, couldn't it?
Let me talk about all of Murder Pals right now.
Tumblr media
The first segment had me dying laughing because of how random it was and how it just happened in like 20 seconds. I liked the unobtrusive randomness of all three segments. And the animation.
Groundmouse Day Again was very good. I was genuinely engrossed in the entire plot, which, I'll be honest, doesn't usually happen for me with Pinky and the Brain segments.
Tumblr media
I laughed pretty hard when Brain pulled out the calculations for how much wood a woodchuck can chuck. It's definitely a joke that's been done before in other media, but it was such an unexpected trope breaker that Brain would respond to Pinky's "I think so, Brain" with an actual, serious explanation. And just the fact that he also cared about this and already had the calculations put together. A rare moment where Pinky and The Brain are genuinely on the same page.
Tumblr media
I had a good chuckle when The Brain went through 20,000,000 attempts to take over the US, and then said he just had to do the same thing for every other country. Say what you will, but the guy is dedicated.
Tumblr media
I like how this episode broke down Brain's desire to rule the world. He gets the one thing he wanted, over and over again, but he can't enjoy the benefits. He gets so good at it that he succeeds every time. It just looses all meaning for him, and I believe that's what led to him valuing Pinky more as a friend by the end of the segment.
Tumblr media
Although I do wish they had built up to this moment more directly throughout the episode to make it feel more earned.
Tumblr media
I thought the thing Brain would need to do to break the loop might be valuing Pinky's friendship or getting a kiss from him or something. It turns out that was indirectly the case, as focusing on Pinky allowed him to uncover the true cause of the time loop, which he would have found right away if he just bothered to participate in Pinky's nighttime routine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It does seem like Brain should now be well-equipped to take over the world for real outside of the time loop, but I guess most of his plans were time-dependent and had to take place at certain moments on that day to work.
Tumblr media
It was an entertaining segment.
And now, my favorite segment of the episode. One of my favorite Animaniacs segments of all time. I had been looking forward to "The Island of Dr. Warneau" since the previews, and this one actually met and far exceeded my expectations.
I like that Wakko's first reaction to being hit with a coconut is to ram the tree with his own head.
Tumblr media
Hatless boy
Tumblr media
Ratto, Saffo, and Ditto were SUPER CUTE! I know the point was that they're off-brand Warners who are probably supposed to contrast with the regular Warners in a negative way, but I don't care. Hearing the Warner voices be so mild-mannered and cute melted my heart. Hearing them sound so timid in regards to their "brother" also broke my heart.
Tumblr media
I liked that the Warners were genuinely nice to them despite probably feeling distaste over their opposite personalities.
Tumblr media
"Yep, and get revenge on anybody who hurts your family." Now THAT'S more like the Warners I know.
Tumblr media
I LOVED that Yakko keeps a picture of Scratchy in his wallet, and he seemed embarrassed when asked the reason, and the reason is never explained, so it probably does mean what I think it means! He really does care!
Tumblr media
And Wakko, of course, has a special love for Scratchansniff and so keeps many pictures of him on-hand. Or, on-belly.
Tumblr media
You know I love seeing some Warner history/lore being directly touched on. This is all very accurate to how it actually went down, right down to the detail of Scratchansniff having hair and ripping it out once the Warners showed up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagine fleeing to an island to obsessively make nicer copies of the creatures you think ruined your life, and then those very same original creatures happen to randomly show up on your island because they got flung off a whale watching ship.
Tumblr media
I thought it was clever how Yakko got out of the situation by mimicking Ratto's voice.
Tumblr media
I loved seeing the Warners and pseudo-Warners unite as a family at the end!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was terrified that there'd be some twist right at the very end that the Warners would just leave them on the island and reject them as true family, but I'm so very happy they didn't actually do that. Such a heartwarming ending!
Tumblr media
The Warners actually killed Scratchy's brother! At least he'll have a valid reason to hate them now.
This segment was so much more than I was expecting. I thought it would just be a parody segment with Scratchansniff standing in as the in-story villain. But, no. It was actually directly connected to the Warners' real backstory and weaved really nicely into their history. I never expected that out of this segment or any segment in the reboot. I'm super pleased with it.
I have no idea how this episode can exist in the same season as episode 8. I don't want to bring in the negativity of yesterday, but I just have to say how much of a shame it is that this season has so much good in it, but I will always have a hard time looking back on it completely positively because of that one moment. You can call that unfair, and it is, but I really can't understate the impact that episode had on me, and I can't ignore my genuine emotions. I don't know how they could make so much genuinely good Warner content and then sour it all with that. It shows that they do understand the characters, but only sometimes? How does that work?
My one major complaint with this episode is, once again, no musical numbers. I've seen 7 out of 10 of the episodes in this season, and in those I've only seen, I think, 2 songs from the Warners. I know the three episodes I haven't watched all have major songs in them, but that's still unacceptable for Animaniacs. Music is such an important part of the spirit of this show, and when there's a truly good song in an episode, it really brightens my mood and leaves me happy singing it over and over again in my head. Last season did so well mixing in great songs on history and geography and science, just like the original did, but season 3 hasn't really done that at all. Did they just forget? I think it's part of why the mood of this season as a whole feels off to me. They should be making use of these legendary voice actors while they have them.
It's going to be hard for me to decide between episode 3 and episode 6 for the top spot in my ranking of episodes for the season so far. Episode 3 had a fantastic song, which episode 6 lacks, and probably better humor. Episode 6 has a more memorable Pinky and the Brain segment, and they really went for my heart by giving us a healthy dose of Warner lore, and some really fun and wholesome moments with the sibs. I think episode 6 just edges out episode 3 for me, but it's a really hard call.
My current ranking of season 3 episodes:
Episode 6
Episode 3
Episode 4
Episode 2
Episode 1
Episode 5
I really encourage you to add to the discussion of this episode if you want, but don't say anything about any of the episodes that come after. Thanks for caring about my thoughts on things!

Quick Animaniacs Review: Episode 84 (Original Show)
Hello Animaniacs community! To honor this amazing episode's 27th anniversary, I've decided to make a quick review showcasing my opinions on these segments from episode 84 of the OG show. I plan on doing this for more episodes in the future, so if you want to see more, let me know. Alright, let's get into the review.
What's In This Episode?: Episode 84 of Animaniacs was released on September 7th, 1996. It contained four segments featuring the Warners and Chicken Boo: "Cutie and the Beast", "Boo Happens", "Noel", and a cold ending, which is technically not a segment, but it's close enough. In my opinion, this episode is one of the last great hurrahs of this show, containing amazing animation by TMS, hilarious segments (some of the funniest in the show), and a consistent level of quality. Each segment brings something new to the table; the Warners bringing comedy, Chicken Boo offering some of his best work, the song portion being iconic, and the ending bit being laugh-out-loud funny. Overall, this is a very great episode that I'd recommend.
"Cutie and the Beast":
Tumblr media
"Ladies and Gentlemen, Ms. Banana Folana!" This segment has some of the best moments of the season, and some of my favorite gags in the entire show. The opening bit with Dot messing up her lines is hysterical, with great voice acting. The fact that they repeat it so many times also makes it more funny. There are a ton of little jabs, innuendos, and meta jokes in these first few minutes alone. Dot swearing and it being bleeped out? Hilarious! It really just feels like the writers, animators, and voice actors were having a blast. The rest of this episode is solid as well. The fact that the beast is in fact the Tasmanian Devil makes for a great cameo from a Looney Tunes star. The jokes surrounding Taz from the Warners are funny and the songs are super catchy despite being short. The twist at the end where instead of Taz becoming a prince, he becomes a prince before Dot changes him back, is a nice subversion of the Disney story. I really enjoyed this segment, and when I first watching the opening, I laughed so hard I think my parents though something was wrong with me. Just a fantastic watch.
"Boo Happens":
Tumblr media
I'll be honest, when I first watched the Chicken Boo segments back in 2020, they were my least favorite segments of all. I hated how repetitive they were, and I disliked the titular character especially. Now, a few years later, I don't hate these segments as much as others (i.e. Buttons and Mindy, Katie-Ka Boom, The Hip-Hippos), but they can still be bland. Luckily, this segment is one of the better Chicken Boo sketches. The setup is interesting, being a Forrest Gump parody and all, and the plot at least has a purpose. I like the narration and the allusions to the titular movie were amusing I can't praise it too much since it is a Chicken Boo segment and all, but out of the entire lot, this is one of the better segments featuring this giant chicken.
"Noel":
Tumblr media
This is one of the musical highlights for the show in my opinion. It's an amazing piece that contains funny moments, great rhymes, and it definitely puts you in the holiday mood, though this was released many months before Christmas. The cleverness of the different rhymes and the substitutions for the word noel are so well done that it's shocking. The fact that the whole song just stems from a decent pun is frankly hilarious. I love how it's not only Yakko doing the song, as Wakko and Dot also join in. The animation is so charming and simple, but it works. It makes it feel like a Christmas song, while subverting expectations in that traditional Animaniacs way. This song definitely puts me in a good mood while also being really funny. It's not as good as songs like Yakko's World and There's Only One of You, but it stands on its own as a classic. If you want a Christmas melody from this show that will make you smile, or laugh, I recommend this 100%.
Cold Ending:
Tumblr media
If there's a great beginning, a great ending will follow. And in terms of Animaniacs, this is by far the best ending to an episode in the franchise's history. Just an ending bit where the Warners wish us farewell, only for the cameras to keep rolling with the siblings making random remarks about different things, including the cast and crew. It seems simple, but it's so well done. This is where the voice acting and writing really stand out. I mean, you couldn't get a more perfect situation; Yakko, Wakko, and Dot picking on the crew who made the show, and even referencing their own voice actors is so hysterical, I was wheezing after first seeing this. The delivery of the lines is great, with the timing landing so well. They even still make pop culture references; can you get any better than this? It's a very meta portion of the episode, but that's the fun of it. These writers were paid to make the Warners talk about the people who worked on the show, and it, of course, went incredibly well. When the siblings finally realize the camera is still rolling and that their mics are still on, it's so humorous. This is a very tounge-and-cheek way of referencing the amazing talent behind Animaniacs and I couldn't be more happier this was how this episode and TMS's animation contributions ended. What a perfect way to wrap up one of this show's last great stands.
Conclusion:
While this episode was made in the Kids WB era of Animaniacs, it still managed to make an impact. Noel is still fondly remembered, "Cutie and the Beast" is named a highlight, and the cold ending is also acknowledged by many a fan. Though I never say Animaniacs got outright terrible, it did suffer from some failings in the writing department while other shows, mainly its spin-off series Pinky and The Brain flourished. This episode still proves that there were some decent writers working on the show, and I consider it to be one of the last outstanding things this show ever did. Not everything here is amazing, but there is enough great things here to justify my opinion on it. The team did an amazing job and the voice actors brought their a-game once again. I love this episode and I recommend it very highly. Well done Animaniacs team. Happy 27th Anniversary to these fantastic segments!
And that's it. I hope you guys enjoyed this new idea I had about reviewing Animaniacs segments. I plan on making two very big posts in the upcoming weeks, so I'm very excited about that. Stay tuned! Thank you everyone for reading and have a great day! Stay zany to the max!!!

Um you like Animaniacs.... What is/are some of your favorite moment(s)?
Oh boy! Great question. Potentially absurdly long answer.
As far as the Warners go, I LOVE when they get really good sibling interactions, and also basically any time they get to have nice or just really funny interactions with the humans in their lives.
This bit in “Hercules Unwound” when Dot is having an off day and Yakko offers to skip the cartoon because she’s not feeling it. They’ve already skipped a cartoon earlier in the episode as well. It’s cute to see Yakko and Wakko caring more about their sister than teaching a lesson to their “special friend.”
This very important sequence from Wakko’s Wish, AKA the cutest Yakko and Dot scene. Literally one of my favorite moments in anything ever. This movie is the thesis statement for like…..85% of angsty Yakko content, at least until the reboot.
Dot messing up her name in Cutie and the Beast, and Yakko and Wakko being little shits about it (bonus: Dot swearing like a sailor). It makes me laugh every time. Also hearing Yakko referred to as “Mr. United States Canada Mexico Panama” never gets old.
The “I’m Mad” theatrical short has it all. Peak Warner sib moments and the best Dad!Scratchansniff content. The Warners are from the late 20s/early 30s. They are OLDER than the Looney Tunes, if you look at their canonical creation dates. Seeing them getting to actually act like kids makes me feel emotions. Also Rob Paulsen is voicing HALF of the characters in this very chaotic song.
The entirety of Meatballs or Consequences, but especially this section. It’s so cute watching Yakko and Dot ask to stay with Wakko, and “are we dead, or is this Ohio” makes me laugh every time. And Jess Harnell is both Wakko and Death! I love hearing his different accents.
This scene from “Fear and Laughter in Burbank,” the OTHER angsty Yakko thesis statement. Do you wanna see an animated character have an on-screen panic attack and then almost have his soul eaten? This is the bit for you. I would LOVE to hear Rob Paulsen’s perspective of this moment, because it’s…a lot, given some of his real life circumstances at the time. Also here there be scary clowns, so if you don’t like clowns, skip this one.
“Yakko’s Big Idea” from the segment of the same name. I’m SO normal about this scene where Yakko is inventing the perfect world for him and his sibs to play in.
Drive Insane, especially the bit from around 0:30 to 1:15 seconds in this video. The Warners tormenting Scratchy by making people think he’s their dad is never NOT funny to me.
“It’s New Year’s Eve” from Hooray for North Hollywood Part 2. It’s so cute seeing them have a good time and be accepted by everyone, and it’s cute to see them celebrating Mr. Plotz. Just don’t think about how this fits into the last few episodes. Don’t. Look at Yakko giving Dot a lil kiss on the cheek instead.
Non Warner Segments:
Les Miseranimals is THE iconic Rita and Runt segment. It’s so good. This isn’t the whole thing, but I definitely recommend going and watching it all.
You could blindfold yourself and stick a pin in a list of Pinky and the Brain episodes and be almost guaranteed to get a great one, but Bubba Bo Bob Brain is one of the absolute best.
The first 30 seconds of this video includes probably my favorite Pinky and the Brain exchange of all time, from Wakko’s Wish
Honorable Mentions:
West Side Pigeons (Goodfeathers)
De-Zanitized (The Warners, and I’m only not including it because I could talk about it for about an hour)
Smitten With Kittens (Rita and Runt)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo Clock (Slappy Squirrel, and I’m not sure it’s one of my favorites so much as it makes me want to study Tom Ruegger like a bug because what the hell)
Literally every Chicken Boo segment, I’m not singling any of them out because every Chicken Boo segment is funny to me.
Lookit the Fuzzy Heads (The Warners and Buttons and Mindy, as well as a Tiny Toons Adventures crossover, shhhhh no one tell anyone that I enjoyed an Elmyra segment)
This is embarrassingly long, and I probably still forgot some. Everyone please watch this cartoon.

hmmm 📣👊 ^_^
📣MEGAPHONE - how loud are they? what do they speak like? got a voice claim? 👊 PUNCH - are they quick to violence? i tried to keep the voiceclaims to short clips they were. Very difficult but worth it i think. dallas & rory are exceptions because they're in a band . this took forever i take my voice claims very seriously ANSWERS UNDER THE CUT
DR. TETRA MEGAPHONE: voice claim i dont know the intersection between tom kenny and scientist characters who've lost everything is definitely there i have to pick this. its just the only option PUNCH: no it's much more fun to fuck with people verbally DALLAS MEGAPHONE: voice claim ( second voice in the video NOT the kid voice. starts 40 seconds in ) i love this band so much and the vocal performance in this song blew my fucking mind first time i heard it. peak emo music PUNCH: a little. he's a bit rowdy... (please tell me someone else sees the intersection between these two voices being in a band together. please i need to know im hitting SOME kind of niche here and im not just crazy) RORY MEGAPHONE: voice claim tevin campbell is so fucking talented and has such a distinct voice. this song is peak y2k to me.. i wish he had more performances so i could get a speaking quote maybe. PUNCH: no! he's got a good head on his shoulders. he won't hesitate to protect himself though. LEE MEGAPHONE: voice claim sorry i cant find a clip for this one. i cant think of any character with a monotone enough voice lee is so .. go lee give us nothing PUNCH: no but you can’t tell they’re getting angry. they don’t have any tells they just punch you full force in the face and walk off CYRA MEGAPHONE: voice claim shes so cool cyra is so cool this was such a hard choice for me. PUNCH: YES . WALKING HAZARD STAY 10+ FEET AWAY AT ALL TIMES LESS YOU BREAK SOMETHING UNWILLINGLY RYDER MEGAPHONE: voice claim AND.... one more. both are very similar . the like.. squeaky-ish voice? i dont know what to call it. that. that's important. PUNCH: yes, but he's all bark and no bite. he's just very very loud but probably wouldn't actually hit you. TIERNAN MEGAPHONE: voice claim it's sideshow bob. it's just sideshow bob. sorry. PUNCH: no hes just some guy
BASS MEGAPHONE: voice claim without the glitching. keep the echo and calm intonation though. PUNCH: no. definitely on the path of pacifism as they slowly regain their autonomy. KOMODO MEGAPHONE: voice claim wakko is one of my favorite voice performances of all time and i dont think anybody else could pull off their dastardly energy. all 3 of the warners have their "i'm four steps ahead of you and you don't even know it" energy but wakko definitely sounds the closest to what they sound like in my head. PUNCH: yeah. they're not aggressive they just have no level of patience and also revel in the mayhem they cause- Okay they're aggressive.

I'm so glad this show got a second season! You can tell with the first they were kinda trying to find their footing and this season was definitely an improvement! I'm especially glad they toned down on the gross-out humor (or at the very least, it's not as bad as it was in the first season) and even the sketches with the minor characters seem better. My favorite song was definitely A Brief History of History and my favorite episode was Wakkiver Twist (speaking of, it was great to see Plotz make a cameo appearance and it's hilarious that Brain wanted to take down Parliament considering when the episode aired).
Some other thoughts: the more adult jokes were pretty funny, I was shocked—shocked, I say!—when they actually referenced the damn Ray-Ban scam, I loved the callbacks to the old show and other Warner products (especially the Duck Amuck parody), I like how this season kept up the gag of the Warners being animated in a completely different style than what we're used to (in this case, the Thundercats parody), I kinda wished they included the part of Wakko essentially identifying as non-binary in the Noah's Ark parody like they did in the comic, I'm wondering just how Nora didn't know the Warners could sing, and I loved that there was an entire episode just dunking on Columbus.
I also really liked how this season ending on a cliffhanger, so I wonder if the next one really will have some sort of overarching story or if things will just return to the status quo either at the beginning or end of the first episode. Regardless, it's great to have this show back again and here's hoping for another great season.

After a long time, I managed to do this as well. And please don’t attack me for this, I still love other franchises outside of Disney. I wanted to post this yesterday, but for some reason I was prevented from doing this. And now the final part regarding Quack Week, which ended a week ago anyway. And it’s definitely tied to a crossover and it’s two crossovers and connected to Warner Bros. If you want a real crossover, this is what you were looking for.
Quack Pack Week- Crossovers
The first part is definitely related to my favorites and the best ducks with my team, which are Donald Duck from Disney and Daffy Duck from Warner Bros. This time as superheroes or other names for other egos, Duck Avenger (Paperinik) and Duck Dodgers (Duck Dodgers in 24 and 1⁄2 century!), who are otherwise one of my favorite superheroes, and Duck Dodgers is one of my favorite series. The two seem to have found themselves in the same century (although Paperinik in PKNA goes into the future mostly in the 23rd century, where he meets Odin Eidolon) and travel together in space (the background is mostly surrounded by stars and various planets, and they are on one planet where one can breathe freely). By the way, Donald and Daffy met once before, in the movie “Who Framed a Roger Rabbit,” one of my favorite movies and best crossovers, where the two of them got into a fight over playing the piano. Like this, they met again (and maybe they met before), but as superheroes. You can imagine a lot of their egos in one place. It would be funny. In addition to the two of them, there are also their teams. With Daffy Duck are also, Porky Pig as a space cadet, Plucky Duck from Tiny Toons (Daffy's student and in my headcanon and Daffy's adopted nephew) as Duck Dodgers Junior and certainly Melissa Duck as Daffy's girlfriend and companion (I changed her a bit). With Donald Duck (Paperinik from PKNA from European comics) there are also Uno (One-computer duck that gives instructions for Paperinik), Daisy Duck as Super Daisy (Paperinika) and Louie Duck as Paperinik Junior, or a bit of my version by my headcanon). And behind them are the villains, I mean the funny villains that I love. Marvin the Martian as Commander X-2 from Duck Dodgers and Zoster (member of the Euronian Empire and one of the infamous members of the aggressive alien ducks or Evronians) from PKNA. Unfortunately, not everyone stopped me, so I apologize for the fact that it turned out a little bad. I definitely hope for more crossovers like this. Yes, this is the second Paperinik crossover with another Duck hero, before that it was the Duck Avenger crossover with Darkwing Duck.
The second drawing represents Donald’s nephews, namely Quack Pack triplets with a team from Tiny Toons and Animaniacs. Someone asked a long time ago because for some Quack Pack humor and dynamics are reminiscent of Tiny Toons and Animaniacs, so I drew them together. Of course I drew in their new suits as they are all teenagers together, and took inspiration from some episodes of Tiny Toons and Animaniacs as well as taking inspiration from some fanarts who draw great Tiny Toons and Animaniacs characters. There are besides Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, there is also Plucky Duck (who is angry at Huey Duck as well as Huey at him, yet the two of them have similar traits in part), Buster Bunny, Babs Bunny, Hampton Pig, Shirley the Loon, Fifi Le Fume and Warner siblings, Yakko, Wakko and Dot (Yakko is in a 90s tracksuit, Dot is wearing a dress, and Wakko is in a sleeveless shirt and Yakko and Wakko are holding Louie, and Louie is all cheerful). Some are happy and some are not. My only apology is that it turned out a little bad, yet for the first time to draw characters from Warner Bros. Also, although I prefer the original Animaniacs, their reboot doesn't look bad, the second season will be coming soon, and as for the Tiny Toons reboot, it will be good.
In addition to the crossover with Astro Boyd, this is another crossover that is outside of Disney and there may be more drawings like this if I have more free time. This is still my end for Quack Pack Week for this year and I hope for even better content than this and certainly this is the beginning for Duckvember in which I will participate for the first time. Thank you all and sorry for some mistakes and sorry for the long text. I hope to work on other franchises as well, not just Disney.

Alright lads here comes the headcanons for yakko and spinel ♡
Honest to God these two got along on the first meeting, it was like the Spiderman pointing meme at eachother since they both were so cartoony like with those fancy like toon gloves they both had 💀
"I like the gloves!! They're like mine but in pink!"
"D'aw! I like the cuffed pants, how fancy! Your little ears too! We match sorta!"
wakko and dot just knew these two as a combination would be a nightmare of puns, bouncy walks and small schemes. But hey, spinel was fun to be around so they didn't mind.
Plus, dot had a nice friend to dress up with. She liked to paint spinel's nails alot and do her hair!!
Spinel liked it too, she liked getting to try on all sorts of outfits and play about.
Spinel gets the dottie pass™
Yakko and spinel pull a bunch of pranks on Ralph whenever he's being a jerk <3
Or they do it to miss nora. (Psst, she never finds out its them)
Spinel tells the warners about space, mostly yakko as he grows more interested in the subject than his sibs.
"Theres..w h a t in space?! Diamonds!?"
"Oh yeah! White, yellow and blue! They're real nice! They'd like your humor, especially yellow!"
Yakko teaches spinel the nations of the world song.
She gets it after a few long tries and yakko watches with pride.
Yakko and spinel both talk about their fair share of trauma.
Yakko was horrified to hear spinel was abandoned for over 6000 years, and assured her himself that would never happen again, he'd make sure of it personally, with a nice anvil on the side. It was enough to make the gem laugh as yakko did it with a tickle.
Spinel is..very..very angry to hear yakko's side, 60 years in a tower...forced to grow up young to raise his siblings and then..tossed out for a show..by the end, the siblings were tossed around to different companies before they were locked away again...
Yakko tells how he's scared of stepping out of line..scared it'll happen again.
He's scared he'll become..boring and worthless to everyone.
Spinel just hugs him before he can ramble on insult after insult and pokes at himself.
"Listen to me..yakko...I know a boy..like you who grew up too fast..it wasn't fair for him..and it isn't fair for you..and bein locked away..not once..but twice? You're....you're more than that. Heck, you raised two little sibs like that! Alone..! They got nothin on ya! You're funny too, yak. I like yer humor, so does dottie and wakkoreno, im sure as a gem can be that they'd say the same! You're a great bro bro to them!"
She says it all while setting hands on hips, right before squeezing yakko into a hug, wrapping her arms all around him with her stretchy limbs.
After that, yakko started to develop a crush on spinel, it was small at first but after awhile having her at the tower, listen to her sing and do her little antics with bright eyes and that smile of hers.
He was a complete f o o l for her.
Though spinels greets never failed to make him melt, and they didn't make his feelings any easier as spinel would brightly sing hello, jump into his arms with her signature sm00ch hello.
The first time it happened yakko got so flustered he thought he was gonna pass out from the heat in his face. Wakko and dot weren't of help, they laughed at him.
It wasn't long though before spinel felt the same way, and love..well this type of love was new to her. It scared her a little to the point she called steven and the gems over FaceTime
Spinel went off and off on a tangent about it all before garnet bluntly told her with a smile that she was just having romantic feelings for yakko.
Course after all that she was given cute little advice from ruby & sapphire.
Spinel used them of course. She also casually flirted with yakko here and there, calling him "dollface", 'doll", "babydoll" too.
Yakko always got flustered to the names and the small pick up lines.
He did realize what she was doing and fired back wirh the flirting too
Dot and wakko felt like they were in hell. Even as yakko and spinel were still too much of chickens to like..bluntly say they liked one another
So they pushed the two together to get em to kiss and just ran for it.
While spinel and yakko would torment them later <3, it was..actually quite helpful to get them to say it all out.
Both of them, yakko and spinel, were equally very cuddly but spinel was extreme.
She'd climb into yakko's lap or hug him if they watched some show or movie.
Spinel would also give big smooches to make yakko laugh, it was her favorite noise to hear. It made her happy.
Yakko always swung his arms around spinel or grabbed her hand to swing her around with a whistle, making the gem giggle brightly or go completely silly, sending them both into laughter.
Yakko would definitely call her "darling", "doll", "honey", or "peaches" its unique but someone fits perfectly as a pet name.
Spinel is very protective of the Warners. Make them feel scared or upset, she's coming at you with a mallet or a scythe.
Norita is TERRIFIED of spinel. Spinel personally hates her the most and will personally seek her out if she treats yakko and the sibs wrong.
I'll probably make more if I get more in my head, but please enjoy it!!! and this drawing i made 🤭

Animaniacs Animation Studios: Tokyo Movie Shinsha (TMS) Part 1 (Redux)
Remake of original post (again thanks a lot Tumblr), so sorry for anyone who’s basically reading (most of) the same thing as they did before.
Long story short, this was the first of my posts where I share my thoughts on the animation studios of Animaniacs.
A big credit to @legion1979 who has unfortunately been inactive for years, but check out their posts for a quick analysis for each episode.
Anyway, no time to waste.
To be honest, TMS is the studio where I have the least unique thoughts on.
TMS is TMS. They’re the gold standard of animation style for the show.
To me, their trademark will always be the awesome expressions and poses and the overall frenzy they give to a scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also I know that “Hooked on a Ceiling” is put up on a hella high pedestal, but I think it’s a bit overrated. Just a bit; it’s still good tho.
They also strike out on the visual gags for me.
“Taming of the Screwy” has that one where Scratchy tells the kids to stop with the gags and while Yakko and Dot just have blindfolds, Wakko has a whole lock on him. I’m in stitches almost every time.
Tumblr media
One other gag is from “La La Law” and it’s a little in the background (or foreground haha). While Yakko is talking in one scene, Wakko takes a bite out of his chair and Dot’s worried expression kills me.
Tumblr media
Speaking of “Taming of the Screwy”, I wanna talk about it for a sec.
Tumblr media
It is considerably low-quality than the rest of the TMS library. Tatsunoko Production gave the Warners really beady-looking designs and the backgrounds are pretty washed out, overall it reminding me of an 80s anime. But that’s why it’s so charming to me. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite episodes, if not my definite favorite.
“Roll Over Beethoven” is another one of those lower-quality segments.
Even though there are quite a number of ugly drawings (including Dot with the long sexy legs like honestly why), I go back to it a lot.
Tumblr media
This sequence is my favorite animation from it. Points that it’s honestly the best that the cartoon is gonna get.
A detail that I love is the character tics that they give to the Warners.
Yakko is the protective big brother so he often has his arm wrapped around his siblings.
Tumblr media
Dot usually has her hands on her hips, showing that she’s the sassy one. Wakko has his hands behind his back, showing that he’s the reserved one. They are small touches, but ones that I love.

Continued in part 2!

What is your favorite Warner segment OF ALL TIME? Mine is Video Review.
I see we've gone from hard questions to impossible ones. I went on the Animaniacs wiki and opened a new tab for every segment I thought was a contender to be my favorite of all time. There were 15 tabs.
Tumblr media
I'm partial to "Draculee, Draculaa". I love the sibling dynamic, I love the cute and cozy animation, I love the nonstop gags.
Tumblr media
I like "Chairman of the Bored" because of the role reversal of the Warners being annoyed by someone else, and because we get to see a slice of the Warners' everyday routines. I think the sibling dynamic is incredible in that one. Wakko just saying "go away" bluntly, in his cute little voice, is forever ingrained in my mind as one of my favorite Animaniacs moments.
Tumblr media
I like "Clown and Out", "Potty Emergency", and "Bingo" because of good 'ol Wakko shenanigans, and he's super cute in all of them.
I like "The Warners' 65th Anniversary Special" because of the more focused narrative and the lore drops. Also because of Scratchy being a wholesome guardian to the Warners.
Tumblr media
"Hooked on a Ceiling" has absolutely classic Warner antics and humor, plus animation that's super pleasing to look at.
There are so many others I want to mention that are just as great in their animation, their humor, and the sibling dynamic. I have to wrap this up, though, because I could really go on all day.
If I had to choose one segment to watch from Animaniacs, it would be "Ups and Downs." Wakko is so incredibly cute and funny in that one. His relationship with Scratchansniff is so charming. The animation is amazing, too. If I'm watching "Ups and Downs", there's no point where you could possibly wipe the smile off my face.
Tumblr media
If you want me to choose one where all three Warners are involved, though, it'd probably be "Taming of the Screwy." I love the antics, I love the story they tell, I love the incredibly cute animation, I think it has some of the best jokes in the series.
So one of those two would have to be my final answer. It's just really impossible to say for sure, though. It even depends on the day and what I'm in the mood for. The segments serve different purposes. If I just want to see some fun, classic Warner shenanigans, I'd probably watch "Draculee, Draculaa", "Hooked on a Ceiling", or "Hot, Bothered and Bedeviled."
Tumblr media
I'm sorry for the lack of a definitive answer. I plan to start a full rewatch of all Warner segments in the original soon, and I'll probably rank every single one like I did for the season 3 episodes.

A Ponderous Rewatch: Prologue
Tumblr media
You know, I didn’t think this would happen. I didn’t go into bingeing the 2020 renewal of Animaniacs with the thought “I’m going to watch this and then go and watch the original Pinky and the Brain shorts and spin-off show and do a rewatch and loose analysis on the whole franchise with special attention on queer subtext and themes”. What I initially set out to do was simply watch the renewal and see if it lived up to the show I watched pretty regularly as a kid in the 90s…or at least what I remembered of it through the haze of decades worth of time.
Pinky and the Brain was my favorite set-up on Animaniacs back in the day. Back then I probably wouldn’t even have been able to tell you why beyond “I think it’s funny and the characters are fun to watch as they screw up trying to take over the world”. Other segments were funny to me back in the day, too. Slappy the squirrel was great in that she was basically just like the classic, near-timeless Looney Toons a la Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, but as an old lady toon who’s seen it all and tries to relate to the changing world while proving that the ol’ slapstick ways still work. The Goodfeathers were entertaining despite the fact that I was a literal child and didn’t even know that it was a big ol’ spoof of Goodfellas. Hell, I’ve still never seen Goodfellas, but three pigeons trying to carry themselves like macho tough guy mafia folks while being goddamn pigeons is still funny with or without that context. And as for the Warner siblings themselves? Their skits were pretty consistently great as well. Lots of that Bugs Bunny-like energy of putting terrible folks in their place when they annoy you while coupling it with the dynamic of three child siblings who are very, very active and much too clever for the average person. It was fun!
But as I watched the 2020 reboot with its stripped-down cast now largely consisting of just the Warner siblings and Pinky and the Brain segments for the season (And I’ll be honest, some of the segments from the 90s like Katie Kaboom, Buttons and Mindy, and the Hip-Hippos are ones I’ll be happy to never have return because they were godawful even back then), it brought into focus the strength of those segments compared to most of the others from the old 90s line-up: The strong dynamic and chemistry of the relationships between the main characters of those skits. The Warner siblings are a trio of kids who, despite being truly cut from the same wacky cloth as the most beloved of Looney Toon characters, also very much tap into a very realistic depiction of sibling relationships. Sure, they get on each other’s nerves sometimes. Sure, sometimes they have disagreements on how they view a certain situation. At the end of the day, however, they care about each other more than anything else and work in such perfect sync despite differences in who they are individually.  Sure, Yakko is a talkative theater kid jackass who sasses back at the drop of a dime. Sure, Wakko is kinda quiet and spaced-out and he has the appetite of a garbage disposal. Sure, Dot is adorable and witty and loudly and proudly feminist with an oddly feral streak. But if any one of them is inconvenienced or picked on or threatened in any way by someone, even if that someone is a powerful celebrity of some sort? You bet your ass the other two will immediately back their sibling up and make their tormentor’s life a living hell for the next however long the skit lasts. They’re little gremlin children who love one another, and have a surprisingly tragic backstory that actually speaks to a lot of fans on several levels.
But, okay, the bond between the Warner siblings is great and fun. What about Pinky and the Brain? What makes their dynamic stand out?
Folks, that’s where things get a little more…interesting. To me, at least.
So, watching the beginning of the 2020 reboot got me to slowly remember the parts I loved about the Pinky and the Brain skits from Animaniacs…were actually from their spin-off show. And the things I remembered most clearly from the spin-off were the more heartwarming moments that showed how much they cared about and loved one another, despite Brain being exhausted by Pinky’s dimwitted antics at times. And for a supposedly continuity-light cartoon show, there was a surprising amount of consistency to the main duo and their motivations. There was even a handful of reoccurring side characters the audience was expected to recognize from past episodes, as well, which is a bit strange to have for a show that initially seemed to aim to be strictly episodic. I remembered the odd amount of depth there was to the series. Nothing groundbreaking, mind you, but definitely something more than the average comedy cartoon.
So after watching the first few episodes of the reboot, I took to Tumblr to see if anyone remembered the old 90s show and to see how they were reacting to the new one. In doing so, I came across this post:
“i love that ppl make jokes abt a pinky and the brain version of the destiel confession because that. already happened....... the only difference is that brain pulls pinky out of superhell instead of dying on a barn nail”
Now, look, I’ve never watched Supernatural and only know it through Tumblr cultural osmosis, and at the time we were all riding off the high of the madness that was the finale of that show and the fallout from it. But ANYWAY…
This piqued my interest because 1. I didn’t remember watching an episode of Pinky and the Brain where anything like that happened, and 2. I was already picking up strong gay vibes from the reboot only a few episodes in. So, basically, I just had to hunt down this episode to sate my curiosity and see for myself if there was subtext in this 90s cartoon that I hadn’t quite picked up on as a kid.
I found the episode and started watching it. “Wow,” I said to myself, “this is a lot gayer than I remember…” And after finishing the episode, memories came flooding back to me:
That time the Brain fell for a girl mouse that was looked and acted lot like Pinky.
All those moments where Pinky would wear drag to disguise himself as Brain’s significant other in one way or another to further their plans for that episode, and how I could never remember it being ridiculed.
That one time they accidentally had a child together via a science mishap.
The ending of the Christmas special!...
And as I sat there, dumbstruck and searching Tumblr’s tags to see how far this particular rabbit hole (mouse hole?) went, everything finally clicked in my little bisexual mind.
This was one of the big reasons as to why I loved the Pinky and the Brain skits so much above all the others on Animaniacs all those years ago when I was a kid. It was the same sort of thing that subconsciously drew me to many of the cartoons and anime and media in general I loved as a child, back before I had the proper knowledge and self-awareness to know or express it.
Looking back on my life, I’d always gravitated to and resonated the most with stories and media with queer content in text or subtext. And sure, this cartoon was/is no Sailor Moon or Revolutionary Girl Utena with explorations of gender roles and queerness. It’s no Steven Universe or She-Ra with out and proud queer characters. It’s no The Little Mermaid or The Happy Prince where the stories were made by queer authors and subtextually about queer experience.
However…
However…!
I was surprised to find how deep the gay subtext went with Pinky and the Brain. Hell, I still am. This little Warner Brothers, Looney Toons-pedigree, continuity-light show about two lab mice trying to take over the world in bizarre, hilarious ways has such a weirdly continuous, heartfelt, touching, engaging, and sometimes outrageously raunchy queer undercurrent to it. All done in the 90s! It’s kind of baffling.
This is not to say that the creators and writers of the shows deliberately set out to do this. I don’t believe that anyone involved sat down and said to themselves “I’m going to make this so fucking gay!”. Sure, the voice actors of both Pinky and the Brain have said that they played the dynamic with “the energy of an old gay couple” and they’ve said plenty of suggestive or outright not safe for work things in the character’s voices in interviews and at convention panels. I firmly believe that they’re just having fun as the characters, just as much as I believe the writers were probably just having fun and putting in the gay subtext and suggestive lines as a kind of long running joke and seeing how far they could take it.
(By the time of the Pinky and the Brain comics, however, I’m not so sure. Some of the stuff they got away with in those issues is…amazing, to say the least.)
Regardless of actual intent, I think the writers of Pinky and the Brain (both old and new), have accidentally created a sort of subtextual, yet pretty powerful love story. And you know what? I want to rewatch this story for myself and write down my thoughts as I go along. I tried something similar quite a while back with Droids, and while I kind of ran out of steam as my life got busier and never finished, I have time now for something like this.
I should also say that I’m not out here to, like, convert anyone into shipping cartoon mice together. I imagine most people see Pinky and the Brain as nothing other than very close friends, and that’s a completely valid viewpoint to have. I doubt there will ever be some sort of canonization of a gay relationship between the two, as I imagine most of the writers on the new show (and hell, on the old one) are heterosexual themselves and would view such an idea as “ruining the comedy and the dynamic of the characters” or something similar. I’ve been in the fandom game long enough to know better than to hope and expect any media to sincerely tackle queer relationships in stories that only have the subtext there, especially in comedies.
I guess I’m doing this more to explore something I loved as a child and to see if I can find just as much if not more enjoyment from it as an adult, albeit maybe for different reasons. Hell, it’s also an opportunity to peek into a kind of time capsule from the 90s regarding how far queer subtext could be pushed back then, even when heavily couched in comedy. This is just a little project I wanna do for fun in my spare time. And hey, maybe a few of you out there will have some fun reading it too, who knows?
Either way, see you sometime soon in the new year.

All asks
Holy shit, this will be so much fun B-) *cracks knuckles*
Ask me: FANDOM EDITION
A - Your current OTP
Uhhh pff,,, skeleton dance I think?? I mean sure, skelley dance is always my current OTP, ngl. They're basically made for eachother, hell, even craig himself wore tshirts and stuff with wander hugging hater ifthisisn'tcannonthenidkwhatitis
B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind
To be honest,, wander x beza. I used to dislike every wander x girl ship bcs I see him as gae and nothing else. But I have a friend who does lots of art with them so I think it grew on me more and more with time?? Now I think they would look cute together, even if i'm still not super big on it.
C - A pairing you have never liked and probably never will
Wnder x domi. No comment, I despise it with all my heart 😂😂 Like I said earlier, I don't like most of wander x girl ships, and domi really hates wander. Sooo this ship simply doesn't make sense to me,, lmfao.
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t
I think Twi x Flash from mlp. Yeah, I thought twi was cute when crushing on him in the 1st EG movie but they don't seem to have that chemistry I was hoping for. Plus I haven't seen any recent episodes of mlp in a long time, though I heard ppl say that he was mean to her once, if I remember well? Anyways, doesn't work so much for me.
E - Have you added anything stupid/cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what
Besides memes/ shitposts, not really. Check @gunxball if you want to see posts of mine back when I was into gumball 2 yrs ago (golly i miss those times)
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom
Probably su (2016-2019) or kid vs kat (2011-2014)
G - Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it
Why yes, of course I do. cosmo x wanda from fop. They were so adorbs together esp in the first 2 seasons. Don't like how they got so flanderized with time, their dynamic was absolutely destroyed, and my day was ruined when I found out.
H - Do you prefer characters from real action series or anime series
I don't watch either lolol
But I think anime.
I - Has tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why
Dislike the fandom, not the show itself? Probably hzbin hotel. The show has a pretty neat concept and animation and it had such a big impact on my artstyle when I first watched it. But the fandom? Absolute hell. (pun intended)
From shipping wars, to pestering vivz, anything is possible. Glad I haven't actually interacted with that part of the fandom.
J - Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over tumblr
Not a show but among us. Back in september/october last year, my tl was FILLED with among us, up and down. Made me a lil tired of it but once I tried playing that game, I couldn't stop. Also the owlhouse, fell in love with the artstyle and story.
K - How do you feel about the other people in your current fandom
I don't have a current fandom. Not feeling in the mood + school + inactivity bcs of school. So I'll say abt my latest fandom, which was animaney. Well, people were really nice, and they seemed to enjoy the reboot. Nothing more to say tbh,,
L - Your favorite fanartist/author gives you one request, what do you ask for
Ummm I don't really like giving rqs to my fave artists, i don't wanna bother them haha
M - Your favorite fanart or fanartist
I don't know aaaa, prolly toonipi but she also draws ocs, not just fanart.
N - Your favorite fanfiction or fanauthor
Anything cute or sappy with skelleydance (NO nsfw)
O - Choose a song at random, which OTP does it remind you of
Lasers and feelings. Skellydance again. It matches sO well-
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas)
I used to have a skatepark AU ft. su chars but never put anything over here. I still have the sketches from 9th grade lmao.
Q - A ship you’ve abandoned and why
To be completely honest, Amydot. Up until s3 they really gave me possible ship vibes. They interacted a lot, and peri discovered her metal powers thanks to amy. But after s3 they hardly ever interacted anymore (besides that one ep from s5 with the kindergarden). I was so dissapointed, but hey lapdot isn't so bad anyway, right?
R - A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships
Back in 2014 I would have said chred from angry birds, definitely. Not many really shipped them, and when I saw some fanart of them on dA everyone would say "ew, gae". Well, 2014 everyone. I was always like "so?? i like that ship, what's the problem??"
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon
Uhmm, i headcanon darwin from tawog that he likes to yodel lol
T - If you mostly have homoships, do you have any heteroships
I think my ships are 50-50, but here are some examples:
Larsdie
Stevnnie
Blckeye
Fluttrcord
Beeckard
Starc0
Tanyamao
Foxodile
Pennball
Carwin
U - If you mostly have heteroships, do you have any homoships
Same as T. Another examples:
Skelleydance
Wnderingeye
Sylava
Lumty
Rupphre
Pearlmthyst
Badgrmao
Bubbline
Flutterdsh
Patbob
V - Are you one of those fans who can’t watch anything without shipping
Lol no. Tbh, i'm not super big on shipping either. I only slighty like/dislike any ship i listed earlier (with the exception of skelleydance, i'm too in love with that ship)
W - 5 favorite characters from 5 different fandoms
wakko warner (animaney)
wander (woy)
fluttershy (mlp)
amethyst (su)
bubbles (ppg)
X - 3 OTPs from 3 different fandoms
skelleydance (woy)
lumty (toh)
stevnnie (su)
Y - A fandom you’re in but have no ships from
kid cosmic (or maybe I do ship papa g w/ chuck), animaney, okko, gravity flls
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go
That one fan made episode from su called the smothering, it was so freaking amazing. It helped a lot in relieveing the pain of that big hiatus from 2017 (which was the biggest one, i literally turned into a skeleton waiting for new eps). Loved peri's needy personality, as well as lappy's playful one. It was so well written, like it could be perfectly fit as a role reversal episode in the main show.

Tumblr media
I made my first comic today and wrote a fic for it!! I’ve been super inspired by Animaniacs lately with the reboot coming and the poster that was officially revealed. I’m not the best artist in the entire world but I want to get better so constructive criticism is welcomed.
I stood outside the party venue on the Warner Movie lot. It was my first time being at a big party like this and since I was the newest character for this reboot it was imperative that I be there to celebrate with everybody and meet my voice actress Marceline Alderson. The wardrobe department had talked me into wearing high heels for the event and so far they were being my worst enemy. I had almost fallen on my face multiple times that evening it made me wonder how in the world Dot felt so confident in these infernal shoes. It was a little bit colder in the party room so Yakko had leant me his suit jacket. His tie matched the dark blue color of my dress something that his younger siblings had been teasing him about for most of the night.

“Sorry if I kept you waiting long Lizzy, these Hollywood folks are a lot harder to leave than one might think. I guess they just love me too much.” Yakko’s voice startled me out of my thinking and I just laughed at the goofball in front of me.

“Sure keep telling yourself that, I think that the real party starts after you leave.” I teased and he just looked at me aghast as if I had offended him.

“I think you’ve been hanging around Dot a little bit too much sweetheart.” He shot back at me and I laughed at my best friend that I was next to.

“That’s probably true sorry if that sounded mean.” I apologized and Yakko just laughed openly at me.

“And there’s the Liz that I know. We’ve got to work on that over apologizing if you’re going to be in show business.” He reminded me and I looked down at my high heels with a small frown on my face.

“I know it’s not your strongest suit but this town will chew you up and spit you out if you apologize for every little thing. It’s like the eye contact problem that you had a few months ago!! We make it into a game.” The eldest of the trio encouraged me reminding me of a few months back when TP was getting on my case about not being able to look people in the eye. Me and Wakko made it into a game where we would just stare blankly at each other and the first one to burst into laughter at a funny face lost.
“How are your feet doing?” He asked me looking at the blister that had started to grow after I put them on.

“I hate them but I think I can get back to the water tower in one piece. Just put it on the calendar that I am forever wearing Mary Janes to these things from this day forward. I’m not letting wardrobe talk me out of it.” I looked up at the moon and the stars that were glittering all around us. The first time I saw them from the rooftop of the water tower it was like I had never seen them before.

“Good for you stick up for yourself. I know that even the dress was a change of pace for you but you really do look beautiful.” He complimented and I felt a soft pink hue start to spread across my cheeks.

“I probably look really strange with leggings on underneath this nice dress. It was the only way that I would feel comfortable in it. I’m getting better about wearing skirts and dresses but I’ll always be the same soccer loving tomboy.” I sighed a little bit thumbing the ends of the suit jacket. It was so sweet of him to give me his jacket in there when I was nervously shivering before my introduction.
“I don’t think that you look strange at all. You look like yourself and I wouldn’t change you for anything in the world. I think that you really are truly beautiful in just about anything you wear but especially tonight.” I rolled my eyes with a soft smile and a punch to his right shoulder lightly.

“Don’t think that this means that I’m perfectly not capable of kicking your ass.” I threatened and he just laughed openly at me.

“Oh Liz I think that I would actually enjoy that so I wouldn’t go throwing that threat around.” He joked winking at me and I blushed a flaming hot pink.

“Too far?” He asked me and I shook my head with a small laugh at him as we started walking back towards the water tower.

“No it’s alright, I don’t think that you could ever go too far in my opinion.” I hummed my comfort song under my breath, one of the first things that Yakko noticed about me was the fact that I hummed the main theme song from Emperor’s New Groove whenever I got nervous about something. It calmed me down and brought me back to a place of innocence snuggled up in front of the television.

“Was this night too much for you? I noticed that you were humming that song a lot even though it was quiet.” I had been sitting next to my best friend so I figured that he would have been blind to not notice that I was suffering deep down.

“A little bit, I just wasn’t used to being the center of attention. You weren’t the only one to notice. I think Marceline definitely did because she started doing it with me.” I smiled softly thinking about how my voice actress fit both my personality and the type of voice that I had so that children could hear the real me.

“So you’re happy with the person that Rob picked out to voice you?” I nodded my head with a small laugh thinking about the goofball who voiced my goofball.

“I’m actually really happy, she was amazing!! Anybody who will join me in singing that song is automatically my favorite person. You of all people should know that.” He was one of the few people that would sing it with me before every filming.
“It’s actually really fun and a good warm up for my singing too since it’s fast. I realized pretty quickly that it was one of the few things that you were genuinely confident at. Plus I thought that it was adorable that your ultimate favorite Disney movie is the one that is the least like a Disney movie.” I laughed at my best friend holding my arms out a little bit so that I wouldn’t trip like I had done countless times that night. My voice actress had been smart and wore flats telling me that she had the same problem. She wore a really funky looking dress that she told me was Minnie Mouse’s from the Soundsational parade.

“Hey that movie was my childhood, at least one of the better parts of it. It was one of the few times that me and my five siblings would all sit down and shut up so we could watch something together.” I sighed a little bit missing that idea of home that I had grown up with. I hadn’t heard from any of my family members even after the big announcement was made that I was going to be their newest character. It saddened me but at the same time I couldn’t find it in myself to really be all that surprised. My parents were infamous for being the worst after all leaving me here all by myself just telling me to not die.

“Have you heard from any of them since they announced that you were going to be the newest character?” I shook my head putting my hands into the pockets of his suit jacket. He put his arm around my shoulders comfortingly.

“If they don’t want to be a part of your life now than they never will. I’m sorry but it’s true. They might try and come back into your life later on down the line but don’t let them. They all but gave you up just because you don’t conform to societies rules. That was one of the first things that I admired about you. You’re you and there isn’t anybody out there in the whole wide world that is like you Liz.” I nodded because he was right and I knew that it just didn’t mean that those words didn’t hurt me in some way.

“I know it’s okay, I don’t care anymore. Maybe I used to because I thought that it was something that was my fault but I realized through being friends with you guys that being yourself isn’t something to be ashamed of. I like wearing shorts with holes in them, ripped jeans, band tees but I also love wearing the white dress shirt with suspenders and skirt that I have to wear for the show. They wouldn’t accept that part of me and that’s not my fault. Besides I found you and your siblings so I’m not sad anymore. I was always sad living in my childhood home. For all I know they’re not even in California anymore.” He kissed my forehead gently as we walked together in the cold night air.

“If they aren’t it’s probably for the best. It’s like your favorite wise old monkey once said, oh yes the past can hurt but you can either run from it or learn from it.” He tried to change his naturally high pitched voice into one that was lower and wiser and it cracked midway through resulting in me clutching my sides and tearing up I was laughing so hard.

“I need that to be the voice of Rafiki from now on that’s amazing…” I trailed off and he smirked a little bit at me.

“You know the first thing that ever stood out to me about you?” He asked me and I shook my head my ears bobbing.

“It was your laugh, the first time you ever laughed like that I knew you were different.” I looked down at the ground but I didn’t see that at that exact moment my ankle twisted in exactly the wrong way in these devil shoes and I started to tumble a little bit.

“Liz!!” Thankfully Yakko with his quick reflexes caught me. I felt my ankle throb in pain and it kept everything in me not to start crying.

“Hey, hey, hey it’s okay I’ve got you. It’s alright to cry when you’re in pain. I shouldn’t have said that at that exact moment. I’m sorry.” He apologized and I felt the tears slowly start to slip from my eyes looking down and seeing his suit jacket lying on the ground.

“Here I’ll get that for you.” He dusted it off carefully before slipping it back over my shoulders and kneeling so that he could talk to easier.

“I can carry you bridal style, if it would make you more comfortable to do piggy back that’s an option as well. Just leave the devil shoes here wardrobe can come and get them in the morning. I’m used to carrying Dot to bed during most movie nights still so I’m sure I can do it.” I nodded my head weakly. I felt his arm carefully pick me up and I whimpered in pain.

“We’ll take you to the infirmary tomorrow make sure that it isn’t broken. If it is then I take full responsibility it was my flirting that got you here.” He apologized and I looked up into those dark eyes that I had loved so much as a child and loved even more as a teenager.

“It wasn’t your fault Yakko. Thank you for carrying me. I hope that I’m not too heavy.” I protested and he just kissed my forehead hugging me closer to him.
“Nonsense your light as a feather Liz. In fact you could probably do with putting on a few pounds.” He reminded me of how skinny I had been a few months ago. He carried me back to the water tower carefully putting me back down on the couch and I hissed when he put an ice pack on my ankle.

“Would a distraction and some hot chocolate help?” He asked me already knowing me too well as he waved my favorite movie in front of me. He went to go and make my favorite warm drink and came back with a mini marshmallow smile on it. He sat down next to me and put two pillows over his lap before putting my ankle on top of it.

“It helps to keep it elevated. I’m really proud of you for how strong you were tonight. Getting through most of that party even after Scratchy had to take Wak and Dot back here to get some sleep. You put on a brave face even though I know your feet had to have been killing you. I’m really sorry about all this.” He apologized and I just shook my head with a small smile on my face. Him taking care of me was unsurprisingly sweet. He probably had to deal with a lot of injuries dealing with his siblings and it warmed my heart that he had taken such careful care of me.

so uhhhhh what are your yakko hcs?
First of all Hi scout!! 😊
Ok so hmm Yakko headcanons huh? This is gonna be all over the place and random as hell so get ready.
- He’s bisexual because I’m bi so he’s my favorite so yeah
- For some reason since I saw the episode where they’re in the train. I got the feeling that Yakko is a “light sleeper” Yakko and dot not so much. Or maybe it’s because he was on a train and not just the tower with just his siblings snores. He’s used to his siblings snoring that’s fine, but when other noises get in the mix he has trouble getting to sleep.
-I mean it’s pretty much canon right? he has anxiety and wants to be reassured he’s funny all the time. He’s also afraid of being alone. He has nightmares he’s gonna wake up in the tower one morning and his siblings are gone.
-(Is this a headcanon? Idc I’m gonna put it here because I want to) He cried at Lilo and Stitch for obvious reasons..
-Listen I am no theatre kid ok? Like at all I have no type of talent. but we all know Yakko is one. Anyway is that I have a cute thought of Yakko hanging out with theatre kids in his age group. While Yakko and Dot are off doing their own thing, Yakko chills with his people.
-He loves cozy wear, especially when he’s just chilling in the tower. Do you know how many fuzzy socks he has? Because he has a lot. You know stuff like this:
Tumblr media
Especially when it gets cold in the tower perfect time to wear them. His siblings knows his love for fuzzy socks so they give him different patterns and colors.
-He’s a good leader, will take the lead if need too. (He prefers to be in charge) he won’t half ass anything if you want him to be in charge of something. Oh his theatre squad needs someone help getting people to come to their fundraiser? Oh he got you. You need him to suddenly be the director for some reason? Oh yeah he definitely got you. My point is he got you, he won’t let you down.
- I’m pretty sure he’s gonna grow up to be a director of some sort. Or has his own comedy show.
-Yes he’s that person who sings loudly and obnoxiously in the shower and he doesn’t care. He has full blown concerts in there.
-Yes he will spend a long time in the bathroom just to annoy his siblings if they’re having a argument. He’s petty like that.
-He has a YouTube channel where he posts covers and of course his own original songs there too. He’ll probably also post vlogs of random shit him and his siblings are doing that day. “Wakko ate another piece of plastic, off to the hospital again!”
-He has a tiktok too if he wants to upload a short video. He’ll do dance challenges and all that jazz. (If someone comes on one of his videos being a hater he destroys them in that graceful way of his. We all know he’s great at comebacks).
- He will also post positivity videos on there as well to lift everyone’s spirits. His tiktok is a place for laughs and positivity.
-Ever since that rap battle in the show he’s also makes up raps on tiktoks, and does rap battles with other tiktokers.
-Going further if anyone in the comments of his videos tries to talk shit about his family he’s just going in. No mercy. Don’t talk about his siblings.
- So I already made a post about Yakko not liking when random ass adults (Dwayne for example) put their hands on his siblings.

But I’m being so serious when I say Yakko does not like when some stranger gets that close to his siblings. Especially an adult that gives off weird vibes. Look at this face:
Tumblr media
Like I’m probably reading too much into this but whatever. That’s a look that says “You got 2 seconds to step away from siblings creep”. Bottom line is don’t mess with his siblings.
Like seriously do not mess with them. He’s very protective of his siblings, that’s one way you can get on his badside. And you really don’t want him as a enemy he will make your life hell. Like he knows they can take care of themselves, but you know big brother instincts and all that.
He will go off on you if you try to hurt them in ANY way. Period.
Ok ending with something wholesome, is he’s really supportive of his siblings in whatever they do. If they’re doing like a solo or something he’s right front and center. As they grow up and they’re branching off to their own things, he’s always there for them whenever he can. He gets misty-eyed whenever he sees them be successful and enjoying themselves.
Some extra stuff!
I can’t explain it but these two videos has Yakko energy ( Wakko is recording)

Umbrella Academy Saturday Morning Cartoons
I know that Reginald Hargreeves probably didn’t let the kids watch much television growing up, but these are the Saturday morning cartoons I think each member of the Umbrella Academy would have liked. None of the kids would agree and they’d definitely fight over the remote.
Allison: The Power Puff Girls (Alison would love the badass yet super adorable power puff girls! She’d probably think of herself as an honorary power puff girl). Her favorite character is 100% Blossom. Klaus loves this show too, but it’s not his favorite).
Diego: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (This was Diego’s show growing up! He loved the mutant turtle vigilantes. They still inspire him in his adult life. A perfect Saturday Morning would be watching TMNT and eating cold, leftover pizza. Raphael was his favorite!).
Klaus: Animaniacs (Klaus laughed so much watching this! He watched the movie Wakko’s Wish so many times. He wished his siblings were as fun as the Warner siblings!! He also loved looney tunes. He developed his sense of comedy from his early cartoon days).
Ben: Hey Arnold (Ben loved the normal yet still VERY entertaining life of Arnold. A lot of his supportive, caring personality was inspired by the football head himself. He also secretly had fantasies of finding his biological parents like Arnold. Meanwhile, Alison LOVED the Helga plot. Her first OTP!)
Luther: Captain Planet (He loved Captain Planet and would belt out the theme song “We're the Planeteers, you can be one too!” He was like “YEAH I’m a planeteer!” He would be Captain Planet when all the kids played Planeteers but since they’re only six characters Vanya would always be left out)
Five: Magic School Bus (This was his Doctor Who as a kid! Ms. Frizzle was the Doctor and the magic school bus was the Tardis. He also loved learning new things so that was a big plus! He now hardcore believes the theories that Ms. Frizzle is a timelord).
Vanya: As Told by Ginger (She wanted to be Ginger who was ordinary, but was adored by everyone anyway. She started writing her thoughts like Ginger and knew that one day she’d create a book of her life too. Extra-Ordinary: My Life as Number Seven started in scribbles on napkins and construction paper).
