I'm on a role now. I don't even plan to have Rena Furtive or Scarabella in my Re-Write, why bother drawing them? Because Furtive is a recolor and Scarabella was wasted potential.

Rena also has a pretty solid design, the only thing that really bothered me was how red her hair is. But to call it proper redesign I figured I should change a bit more. Rena Furtive is a recolor, so here she's a recolor. The blue-gray' actually would probably help her blend in well in a city setting. A lot of modern buildings are variations of silver and the blue tint would also help her blend into the sky. I just made it gray, because the baby blue was a bit too off. And ditched the camo because no. And Lady-Wifi gets a hoodie because I said so.

Alya runs the Ladyblog, the go to place for everything hero. She's been working like crazy to track down Hawkmoth. She constantly get's bombarded with requests for theories on who Paris's heroes are, but all of them have been deleted or ignored. After all, she's not an idiot. Rena Rouge was the first temporary hero to appear and she's become a fan favorite across Paris. Her and her Super-Bestie are often spotted on patrol together. Now if only Chloe could leave Marinette alone.

More redesigns!!! This time it’s Miss Hound, Scarabella, Queen Bee, and Vesperia. To explain the changes I made:

Miss Hound

Out of all the hero designs, her canon design is one of my least favorites; I actively dislike it. So I went for a very magical girl vibe with her (ruffles along the pant hem and cuffs). I also changed the mask a LOT (the old one made her look like she didn’t have eyebrows) and got rid of the beret completely, instead opting for dog ears. The beret was ugly... I don’t remember if I based her off a specific dog or not but the closest dog I can think of is a jack russel. Also she has a tail!

Scarabella

I also dislike her canon design but not as much as Miss Hound. I really wish they gave her an afro like in the concept sketches (it looked so cute!!!!). I changed her top into a dress that has a slit in the back; it’s meant to resemble ladybug wings. The strips of fabric also look like antennae. I kept with the knee-high boots but made them look more boot-like (heals). I also moved her yo-yo cause... why was it over her crotch in the first place???? weird >_>. Two cornrows into hair puffs cause it’s cute <3. I really wish the show would give her more black hair styles instead of straightening it when she transforms. Also, i couldn’t figure out a pattern for the mask so I kept it blank

Queen Bee

I think her canon design is cute! I only changed it to be what I think embodies Chloe. Most of the outfit is meant to resemble features of a bee such as the dress looking like a stinger, legwarmers to represent pollen, the stripes of a bee, and even the beehive hair do. I like the way the canon mask design looks like eyeliner so I just accentuated that more. i think arm gloves also makes her look classy.

Vesperia

Hot Take! I like Vesperia’s canon design, idrc that it looks like a wasp and not a bee, it slays (especially the boots). Still, changes could be made! Her redesign is meant to reflect the fact that she’s from New York, so i gave her streetstyle pants and an asymmetrical top. Tbh, she kinda looks like a street fighter. Her mask is meant to resemble the markings of a wasp. I also gave her the same beehive hair style as Chloe but moved it down for something more relaxed. I like how her and Chloe’s gloves are like opposites design both being fingerless. Same idea of making her more bee like w/ the pollen on the boots and the stripes

Did you guys want JOTG Alya? I wanted to draw JOTG Alya. AND it’s art for National Pansexual Pride Day! (Well, according to google I think, december 8th)

I haven’t blurbed much about what Alya is like in this au online yet. JOTG Alya isn’t gonna be too different from canon in personality but I am working on shifting how she interacts with others and how much impact she has on the story. Largely I like what Callimara has suggested for a rewritten version of her and I’ll be adding to that since she has said she’s ok with it. 

She’ll still be credited of course when I actually WRITE THIS

I am terrible at drawing out the ideas I’ve collected for this au over the past year but hopefully I’ll be able to get more stuff down for Alya to grow interest lol.

The main things I didn’t like with the original design was the weird placement of the yo-yo, the many different spot sizes, and the color palette.

Scarabella redesign.

The bright red was not good against alyas skin tone so I made the red a more cool more muted red.

I gave the suit more segmented parts to be more insect like and I removed the weird little shorts.

Her hair gave me the most problems since I could not figure out what I wanted to do with it. I didn’t want the scarf because the spots so close to the spots of the mask was too busy and they were also different sizes from the spots on the mask and the spots on the suit. I tried making it black but didn’t like it so I just got rid of it and gave her two low buns.

Something I felt was missing from scarabella design was blue. Ladybug had blue eyes and blue hair that is in a shape resembling wings. I wanted to give scarabella some wing details so I have her some wings on her feet and some hair accessories that look like a ladybug in flight.
