Get to know you - Sims Style

Thank you to @rstarsims3 for the tag! 😊 What’s your favorite Sims death? None, I never let my sims die anymore because I get too attached to them 😂

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? I prefer Maxis Match, but I don't mind throwing in a bit of Alpha here and there.

Do you cheat your sims weight? I've only ever made one of my female sims less buff, but she proceeded to get very buff again so I just left her.

Do you move objects? Yes, but mainly just decorations and things like that.

Favorite Mod? I don't really play as much anymore, so it's hard for me to tell but I definitely cannot live without NRaas Mods and LD's Smooth Patch that's for sure.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? Probably the first EP that I actually wanted was either Generations or Pets, because my mom already had other ones that I wasn't interested in enough to remember (definitely Late Night though, I do remember one time randomly turning one of my mom's families all into vampires when I was like 7 or 8 😂).

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing? aLIVE.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? My most favorite would be Mari Martinez, who was a gen 3 sim from my old legacy save from a couple years ago that I happened to really like. She went through a few changes though 👀 Left is how she is now and the right is her from the legacy save. The one on the bottom is her and her husband Enzo 🥰

I do love this family right above as well though, I used to play them a lot before and occasionally now 😄 Have you made a simself? I have, my profile pic is actually supposed to be me and my dalmatian dog Disney (who's passed on now). It doesn't really look like me at all though because my sim making skills are pretty bad and even the hair color is too light but you get the general look 😅 Which is your favorite EA hair color? I've always preferred brown hair, but I like any hair color.

Favorite EA hair? I like a lot of hairs, I don't know which one to choose from.

Favorite life stage? Young adult and toddler stage 😄

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? I'm actually more in it for the creation of mods hehe, but I do like to just sit and play sometimes, especially in TS2, and I do love building houses but mostly in TS2 as well because it does get a bit frustrating with TS3 and how laggy it can get with the create-a-style tool.

Are you a CC creator? I've made a few things here and there, so I guess so!

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad? I have a couple friends, there's definitely a lot of lovely people here as well and if anyone wants to be my friend I'm open to it 😊 Do you have any sims merch? Sadly, no 😔

Do you have a YouTube for sims? I did once upon a time, it was mostly just me sharing my process of creating animations but I kind of just left it. How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? When I first started playing probably over a decade ago I just used to create couples and make them have like 5 kids, then kick the kids out when they reached adults then make the couple have more kids and the cycle pretty much never ended 😂 Then I started to play more legacies and tried challenges, but as always I got too attached to my sims and I couldn't continue them. Then I got into making mods and so here I am, I don't really actually play much anymore. Who’s your favorite CC creator? I love most of the stuff from @xiasimla, @sim-songs, @johziii, @nectar-cellar and a few others.

How long have you had Simblr? I think 2 years now? I just used to lurk around and download CC at first but then I decided I wanted to post my things here too 😄

How do you edit your pictures? Sometimes I don't edit them, but if I do I use Photoshop to enhance the vibrance and add in a bit of depth of field. Though I've finally gotten reshade to work now so I probably won't edit them anymore.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite? My favorites are Generations, Pets, Seasons, Island Paradise and Master Suite Stuff. I'm sure most people have already done this but if you haven't then I'll tag you! 😄

What’s your favorite Sims death?

I think death by wohoo has to be my favorite, although as I only use the game for storytelling and even with that mostly screenshots, I don’t really see much to any death in the game.

Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?

I play with a mix, although my hair is always Alpha as I just am not a fan of having hair that looks like its made of clay. Other than that, my taste in cc is very very simple, if I like it, it doesn’t really matter what type of cc it is. I do lean towards alpha more than MM most of the time, but there is a lot of nice mm cc out there too.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

I never play with my sims, they just get to take screenshots these days, so yes, if they somhow added 100 pounds of weight somehow or suddenly go super skinny, I would. If I played with them, and it was not story, then they would have to handle it themselves if their weight randomly changed

Do you move objects?

All the time

Favorite Mod?

MCCC, Playable pets(its a lifesaver when you pose pets) and Wicked Whims and thats about it. I have very few mods.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

The Sims: Livin' Large as the first sime game i had was the original. And that was the first pack that came out. You really see the difference of what Sims is now, compared to back then, when you look at the amount of packs.

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

I say Live mode as in aLive, the other way around is just wierd to me.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

Hmh.. Christian (Chris) I think.. a lot because without him, the legacy I now have running would never worlk

I did once, hated it, and never ever used it again after the first use.

White, if they have it, white has always been a haircolor I have a thing for

None, as I do not use any EA hairs.

Favorite life stage?

I honestly think their all kinda lack-luster, so it’s hard to say. Specially since I do not play the game at all anymore. I guess young adult story wise as that is when a lot of things tend to happen.

storyteller.. with occasional “build” which is more outdoor lots and nothing else.

Nope, I have 0 skills like that. (If I could manage it, I would love to learn to make poses, but bad hands and blender is not a good combo, I tried 😂)

I started fairly vanilla like most, and went more and more into the alpha cc, so I guess they have evolved into for me better looking sims. I also went from making mostly female sims, to now preffering to make male ones

🏡 Build Info 🏡 🏪We 'R' Kids Toys & More 🌎World: Magnolia Promenade 🏭Studio apartment for "live-in" lot owner, 1 bedroom and 4 baths 🏪Lot: Paddywack's Emporium 📏Lot Size: 20x20 💵Lot Value: §210,886 ----------- This is a retail lot - a kids' themed store with clothing, toys, books, and furniture. There is an employee breakroom upstairs, and an office for the owner with a conference area. Obviously, these are just for aesthetics, since the Sims don't really utilize breakrooms and conference rooms while working. There is also a stockroom in back (also for looks). There is a small 1 bedroom apartment for the owner of the lot to "live" in. In order to do this, you would need to have a sim purchase a residential lot (I usually buy the cheapest and leave it empty), then have them buy the retail lot. The sim can sleep, eat, etc. to "live" there outside of open hours. 📝Note: if you leave the lot, they will return to their "home" lot and you'll need to travel back to the store. 💡Tip: For the stockroom & breakroom/office, lock the door for "employees only" - the stockroom will need both the interior and exterior door, or you'll have sims using that sink (it's perfectly understandable to just lock the breakroom completely, as I found the employees kept going to the office to watch TV when they're supposed to be working 😂) For the studio apartment, lock the door for your sim/household only - you'll need to unlock/lock again as necessary if you invite friends over. 🖼️NOCC Gallery Paintings can be found on the Sims gallery by: Cribea9, SimsationalToo, Catatron16, PnLj20, AlJay2000, MOONL1GHTSEEKER, Lousari, & Takissis 😲A special shout-out to @InSims for the amazing clothing racks used in the store! Writing has consistently been a safe space for me throughout my life, and it's a goal of mine to bring some of that peace to others. I was the nerdy kid in school, completely captivated by reading and writing poetry, instead of hitting up parties and events with my friends. Had a crush on a girl? Hold up, where's my pen? I must write down in fluffy words how beautiful her soul is. Feeling angsty and misunderstood? Someone please pass me my journal. If I don't write my feelings down now, my emotional little brain will explode.

I spent many summers with my nose in a book because it never failed to whisk me away, and I happily floated there among the stories and characters.

It's why I developed a deep love for raves, actually. Everyone, weird and wonderful, is welcome to come as they are at every stage of life. A community my social battery can handle. Plus, our music is rad. 👽✨️ Ah, sorry. I'm off on a tangent.

Oh, I ❤️ your take on Abby, for sure. We have a lot in common there. I struggle to read pieces that I can't emotionally connect to, and it sometimes makes me sad for her character when she's exclusively written that way without any other elements to her personality involved. She is so complex, and there's so much in her character worth exploring.

I've said it before, but being a body builder myself, it's a little heartbreaking, I guess, because we are still extremely sensitive beings underneath the muscle and fortitude. I've dealt with a lot of those assumptions and opinions in real life, and it's so nice to be reminded and to remind others that we're gentle, sensitive women, too.

I think Abby is a HUGE softie deep down and maybe not so far down, really. 😍

So you @beansbuilds decided to submit me to a sims exposing page because I’ve done two CC dumps on my Patreon? I didn't know that was such a huge deal since I've seen other people do it as well... I also know many builders who make their builds Patreon exclusive while including the cc. And i know for a fact you don't have a problem with builders doing it because you reached out to one who does exclusive builds to ask them to promote you and your husbands cc. So why am i the only one you chose to call out 😭 But its no problem for me to delete the posts..Thats why i was trying to ask you what you were talking about on Patreon 3 days ago but you chose to ignore me. As far as the situation with @simmer-talia-blog, I apologized for the misunderstanding, and she has shared my content since our conversation so i did the same when i would see her posts on my timeline but now she’s saying I did it first? MINECRAFT SHINGLES, OMG HEGSJAGAGAKA

This is an amazing way to word it, and I'm stealing that, bcuz this is also exactly what happened to me lol. I'm 21, I've watched MC vids for 6 months now, I've played for 2 xdd

No immunity, only blocks lol

Also, let's unite in being anti-chest-monster, I very quickly realised how overwhelming digging through chests of junk can be for me, it just sucks the enjoyment right out of the game. I've been looking into building some sort of a redstone sorting system, cuz I discovered I really like redstone, but I don't think I'm on that level yet haha

But I love exploring, flying around, collecting pretty blocks, and orgainising everything into neat stacks (that last one scratches my autism brain pfftttt), so it's only a matter of time before I attempt a storage system like that

And I must unfortunately dissappoint you, for I have no real rhyme or reason when it comes to planning my builds 😅

Ideas and block combos just usually pop into my head, and then I try them out straight in the survival world. I sometimes mess up, change blocks, remove things, so it's not an efficient way to do things, but it does work for me. Plus I've noticed I'm kinda like Etho, my houses are mostly just interior lmaoooo. It's usually a hot mess of things I thought are cool at a time, and a consistent building style is something I lack xd. For example, my island is decorated with moss, spruce leaves, ferns, a fire pit, etc. (cabin in the woods vibes), my fields and animal pen are on interconnected artificial islands on my lake, my potion lab is in a basement I dug under said island and I made it with blackstone and a lot of the nether warped stems (evil scientist style), and the house I made is on top of a... futuristic tree I made from glass and leaves, and said house in itself looks like a Rich Person Seaside Mansion, and it's in white and blue

I supppose this is a real representation of my brain xdd

Also, I'm the person who makes farms for communal use, I was sleeping under the sky for SO LONG, cuz I made a gunpowder farm for my friends, an xp enderman one, now I wanna build a gold one in the nether, and I'm wrangling villagers into a trading hall rn (they are a nightmareeeee xddd)

Oh gods redstone scares the crap out of me, i feel like i definitely fall on the builder side of things rather than being a more technical player-- but then i also havent messed with it much yet, so maybe i will surprise myself!!! Still, building a redstone sorting system seems real fun!!! Me when i can just sort things automatically.... the autism is Winning™ truly.

Tbh out of all my friends i am the person with the most Planning Brain. Cannot do a single thing on the fly it Must be scheduled, hopefully about three business days in advance at least /hj 😂😂😂😂 this apparently applies to minecraft in that i will open CSP and meticulously edit a screenshot to reflect what i want the area to look like, then meticulously plan a build outline, then carefully mull over multiple ideas for the block palette, then go BACK into the creative world to double check ive got the right measurements from the outline before ever setting foot back in my survival world 💀💀💀

Your builds sound so cool and unique though, thats amazing!!! Glass tree..... looking so intently at that tbh. Also gods i am dreading the part where i need to wrangle villagers for farms 😭😭😭😭😭 especially bc im entertaining the idea of putting all my farms underground so they're beneath/within the ruins i plan to make under the lake near my base. Luckily there is a village literally on the edge of the lake so at least theyre close by 💀

1.) What’s your favourite sims death? When you have a pool on your sim’s property no matter the season they go to lounge there and freeze to death because of their own stupidity. 😭

2.) Alpha CC or Maxis Match? I’m a alpha girl, but I really like both styles! IDK when you get down to it, they both reflect a ‘art style’ to me. Like have you tried to make a MM sim alpha or a alpha sim MM? There’s work involved in that to make it look right!

3.) Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Honestly it depends lmao I make my sims high on the weight scale, even the skinny sims, so their bodies look natural. There’s been times where I’ve had to slightly tweak their hips or stomach width so a cc top doesn’t look strange and bulky. 😑😑 But when I play the game everyone is bound to gain weight and I don’t take certain characters to the gym as much as I should. 😂😂

4.) Do you use move objects?  Uh yeah.

5.) Favorite mod?  Before High School Days was a thing, I really loved the plumfruit mod by Arnie. 😍 There was also a hair styling mod I downloaded that’s pretty fun and effective for doing quick townie makeovers. Beyond that as a storyteller I owe my life to MC Command Center and TOOL annnd wickedwhims for more intimate scenes.

what do you have under your bed? 

This fold-up fake tatami mat that I put under my futon. Also sometimes marbles or small bouncy balls from my cat because if you hide a toy, it makes it brand-new when you find it again. It is apparently also very exciting when your person vacuums them up by accident and erupts in a stream of invective.

favorite candy? 

I toggle between peppermint patties and Mounds. Right now it's peppermint patties because 'tis the season blah blah.

describe your favorite shirt. 

A plain V-necked, 3/4-sleeve all-cotton medium gray shirt from the ultra chic, super exclusive, boutique artisanal St. John's Bay label at JC Penney's. 😂 Idgaf. I am at baseline an un-fancy person who became even less fancy during the pandemic.

the last thing you drew/doodled was:

The floor plan of a house in a custom world that I won't name because it was a really impossible house to play in, and I drew it out so I could expand the floor plan and make an improved version.

You know those houses that look adorable from the neighborhood screen, adorable in their thumbnails, adorable from the outside--and then you get inside and there are all these 1 x 1 tile bottlenecks because the builder cared more about appearance than function? It was that.

Builds like that make me so upset, and they're everywhere. Build like that for your irl dolls, not the Sims!

I am, and mostly have been for the last 5 years! I make one exception on NYE, then it's back on the wagon for the rest of the year.

It's the only way to fly for someone like me, who otherwise will decide to celebrate it being Tuesday. Wouldn't Fat Tuesday be even fatter if it happened every week? And Friday, that's mandatory, you've simply got to drink Friday, plus, Thursday is a kind of pre-Friday, isn't it? Yeah, it's Friday Eve! That deffo calls for some shots. Saturday is for pre-gaming with friends, then drinking some more--you wouldn't want to be antisocial--and Sunday there's a big game on that will be way too boring to watch without beer, and--

So. Once a year, and then that once-a-year usually reminds me why once a year is enough (because I don't do moderation).

what's one thing that annoys you more than anything? 

I am trying to be less annoyed by things, but I'm still annoyed by enough things that picking only one is a challenge.

But I guess my build mode rant up there fits here too so, that. Oh and hey, I know "cozy" is very in right now, but while you technically can call a 2 x 4 room a bedroom... you probably shouldn't.

No, I've spent too much of my life in the sunbelt for that to be a thing for me.

I know it's a cliche, but Paris. I am exactly the kind of tourist they hate--I dress terribly (see above), I butcher the language, I'm overweight, I'm basic in every respect--but I find their disdain for me absolutely adorable (and tbh somewhat justified) and my God, the food.

ELITE: Season 1 (Episode 1) Summary & Notes

*of course this contains spoilers*

Episode Title: Welcome

Summary: After a public high school collapses, the builder tries to repair its image by paying for three impacted students to attend an exclusive private school. (description straight from Netflix)

EH!:

Starts very dramatically, but I’m really oddly.... into it? Right off the bat, you see a crime scene; you see blood, you see the police getting involved… basically, you see the deal. Someone’s dead. Could be anyone, and the killer could be anyone as well. You might be attached to the dead person by the end of the season, or rooting for the killer all along. Who knows. And I love that.

The outside shot of the school is gorgeous. I don't know what I expected, since it's literally supposed to be an ELITE school, but yeah. I was very impressed.

Another really impressive thing is: Nadia. I just love the girl. I don't know how to express it in words. I just do. I want more of her.

“When your name is Nadia Shanaa, you better know what can get you expelled.” HOOOO THIS LINE. The connotation of this line is of course not the least bit amusing, but I love how homegirl came prepared. Lmao. Like, 'I'm already here. I'm not going out. None of y'all rich brats will make me. This is my shot, and I'm not throwing it away.'

On a similar note, Samuel’s introduction to the class is *chef’s kiss*. Though it’s self-deprecating, I think it’s the perfect way to show that he’s unfazed by the prejudice from them wealthy kids. That makes him kinda the opposite of Nadia because homegirl wants that trophy and the Ivy League, I can already tell, and she lets them know it - but I’d like to interpret Samu as kind of passive-aggressive, at least? Might actually not be the case, of course, and Samu’s really just this gentle dude who stays away from confrontations, but I still enjoyed the clap back when it happened.

And this one, lol. Okay. I knew there was gonna be lots of sex and nudity in this show (hello, Manu freaking Rios seduced me into doing this) but in the case that I didn’t, I think it’s…… very considerate of Netflix to let us know that they’re not gonna be shy from showing asses and breasts in this series. And sixteen-year-olds having sex in the goddamn shower. Christ. (I mean. Why am I surprised anyway? I just said Manu Rios made me do this, and his character's probably the STAR of the boys locker 🤣) Anyway....

Marina is cool, I guess… That thing about her STD is terrible irl, but an interesting plot point for the series imo. It sheds light to her rebellious streak and why she kinda has issues with her parents and Guzman who's really overprotective of her.... I don't know? Will that be important? Will she, like, infect someone? Will that somehow play into the main plot?

ALSO, important note: Ander is my male eye candy this ep, lol. He's really cute.

THE DEAD BODY REVEAL AT THE END WTF. Is this how it’s gonna be for the next seasons? Because I am shooketh. I didn't expect to know who died so early. But thanks, ig? Lol. Now I know not to invest my emotions in Marina 😂.

MEH?:

All right, I don’t hate Christian, but I strongly dislike him the first second he’s on-screen. Maybe he came on too strong? Idk. He just felt forced somehow? Although I admit the walking naked in the corridor scene was hilarious, I'm still not sold. He is very imposing in a very annoying way. Can’t even really blame Guzman for being an asshole to him lol. This brings us to the next bullet:

Guzman is an asshole. He has reasons I’m sure, and he’ll eventually drop from the high horse, but for now…. he's meh to me.

NO. They did not call the hijab an accessory. Yo, wtf is that? And they also threatened Nadia’s wearing it as a probable ground for expulsion? YO, that’s not cool. They should reevaluate that handbook and make it more open to diversity. Like??? Honestly, fuck you, ma’am.

Yooooo Samu’s older brother is a trouble-maker. And not the type that I enjoy, too. Not against it, I love trouble-makers as much as the next bitch, but I just haven’t found the reason to appreciate him? I’m sure I’ll figure out where he stands in the next episodes because he seems like an important part of the big picture. But in this ep? Nuh. No. Bye.

I'm just gonna come out and say it: I hate Lu. Which is the same reason why I should have loved her, in this backward logic of mine. And actually, she was part of my EH!s. Until that racist comment to Nadia. They’re just really bothered by her hijab huh.

Polo is hella attractive but idk wtf’s up with him? And Carla, too. Their relationship was ????? Voyeurism and consensual cheating are common kinks in the many fandoms I’ve been in (and read fics for), but…… that sex scene between Christian and Carla with Polo watching through a mirror was really lmfao ?????

Finally, I am NOT a fan of the attraction between Nano and Marina. Not at all. But I guess nothing comes out of it in the end, right, or at least nothing that lasts into the second season. Because, well…. The DEAD BODY REVEAL lol. That’s good. Perfect. But as long as Marina’s alive, and I guess she will be until the last episode, a relationship forming between her and Samu’s brother is not impossible. And that’s what I’m most dreadful about. Because I can already see it happening asgbfdhfdj. And I don’t wanttttttttt.

Final Fantasy XIV (First started playing April 21st, 2023. I have quickly logged over 1000 hours on steam and still play every single day despite finishing MSQ twice now. I hope to write a post soon all about my journey with FFXIV. I can easily say Square and FFXIV, especially YoshiP, have saved my life in ways I am unable to describe.)

Persona 5 Royal (This game is just phenomenal in every way. The day I got my steam deck, which was the day before my 27th birthday ((received it on 8/24/2022 and my birthday is on 8/25)) I have always been haunted by this beautiful story and it’s characters. This game, much like FFXIV, has the best writing I’ve ever experienced in modern day fiction.)

Baldur’s Gate 3 (I’ve had this game since it’s early days in Early Access on my steam deck but only just started it at launch. I hope to write a review on it as soon as I finish it but I’m currently still exploring the story of Faerun with my Druid Tiefling. 💜)

Red Dead Redemption 2 (If you have ever played this game… you’ll know why it’s in my top ten list.)

Nier Automata (Same explanation as the game before it.)

Assassins Creed Odyssey (This game captures the epitome, the essence if you will, of a badass bitch.

Witcher 3 Wild Hunt (Hands down of the best fantasy/action RPG’s to ever be released. This was CD Projekt Red’s ultimate video game. It’s truly such a shame that they tragically destroyed their own reputation with a single game after their success with the Witcher.)

Dragon Age Inquisition (Only played a few hours but I absolutely adore the MMO feel to it. And the freedom you have with your own character.)

Dragon Quest Builders 2 (MINECRAFT BUT WITH AN ACTUAL AMAZING FUCKING STORY. That’s all. 😂)

Aphrodite/Venus: I included the Roman name because that’s important. When the Trojans (precursor to the Romans) lost the war and everything was on fire, Venus, the mother of Rome, told the Trojans to get on some ships and sail away because the prophecy is that they would find, settle in, and being to greatness the Roman lands. So they sailed and they found Rome and they started a horrible war and fucked over the people that were already living there and then they eventually founded Rome and Rome obviously was a fucking shitshow. Yuck. But we can see that she’s not just the god of sex, she’s a fierce and devoted mother to her people and she is a nation builder who brings people together to collectively come together and create a nation. She also created Athens by helping the people there come together and create a nation. Athens, as we all know, eventually became a democracy and was the most famous democracy in Ancient Greece, though it was not the only democracy there or even the first one. She’s an interesting god but what with the whole being the mother of fucking Rome of all places I hate her. But I do really and genuinely like the first half of the Anead and like, if the Trojans actually respected the original inhabitants of what would become Rome and didn’t make Rome so racist and slave-holding and unequal and snooty and capitalist and horrible, then I would genuinely love Venus so much. Like, it’s a compelling story. A group of refugees who lost everything are trying to make a new life for themselves where they can keep their heritage and culture alive and that’s a really compelling story. It’s just that all hell broke loose once they actually landed.

Completed: The Silly idea to build three Dragon kits from 1990. This kit is probably the birth place of the Dragon insturction meme among model builders. They have weird angles, parts in space, disappearing parts, and just WTF sequencing. The designer must have been an armour builder because he didnt have a glue about paint sequencing in a plane build. I made the project even sillier but deciding to chop one of these things up and making it as one of the planes as it sat in storage for decades. Overall it was interesting and very trying to build three of the same kit at once. Building two of the same version meant hunting down two sets of matching decals from whatever I had. I am pleased to be finished and will never do a triple build again...Ah crap! I have at 3 Italieri spitfires and 3 Revell 262s😂 120086 is now assembled and has been on display since 2012. This will be 120086 as it sat between the 1970's and the 2000's. Werknummer 120076 was traded to Aero Vintage in the 120076 was traded UK for a Bristol Fighter ( in December 2006. Their is interest in an airworthy restoration of Werknummer 120076. There are books that claim this plane was refurbished in Canada in the 1960s. Currently, Werknummer 120076 is displayed in Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin
