It was hardly early in the morning, but Theo and morning’s didn’t really see eye to eye now he spent most nights at the bar. Yet here he was, his coffee in one hand and the lead to his not-so-little St Bernard, Bruce in the other as he made his way onto the beach, ready to soak up some of the sunshine now that Amalie was at at daycare.

He was stopped in his tracks quickly as a very excited Bruno started sniffing the feet of a woman. “Sorry about him, I think he’s just happy to see other people that aren’t me,” he quickly apologized, taking his eyes off his dog only to recognize the woman in front of him, instantly she brought a smile to his face. He had seen her a few times at the bar at this point, although he still found it strange to be back somewhere so close-knit. “Cherry?!”

NRRGGRRRGHHGHG REALLY MUNDANE RITO HEADCANON INCOMING

So, I started imaging that, similar to grades in modern education systems, Rito stick together and learn with others of the same age, although they typically still carry on the bond into adulthood. Except instead they’re called ‘clutches’. (The term is usually used for the group of eggs a bird lays at one time, but it can also mean when multiple birds of one population lay the same nest or location. That’s the definition I’m using.)

Rito from the same clutch learn everything together; general education, how to fly, basic hunting and gathering skills, etc. Soldiers of the same clutch learn how to fight together, too. That sort of thing.

Since I also imagine that the Rito population is significantly lower Post-Calamity with their numbers very slowly going back up, their clutches are smaller than they have ever been in the past. Therefore, now they’re very close-knit and know each other very personally, for better or for worse.

Teba, Saki, Harth, Kass and Amali are from the same clutch in this headcanon, too.

Okay, so this might seem REALLY, REALLY weird, but do you have any, like headcanons for Ritos? Like, not just Revali, but Ritos. Flying mechanics. Their opinions on Medoh. Do you think they lay eggs? Or what? Because that's something I've been debating for a looooong time

Oooooo you bet I have Rito Headcanons. Prepare yourselves, mortals! Here are

General Rito Headcanons:

The Rito can fucking fly, I don’t care what BS the game says about updrafts and gliding. They are birds, they have wings and feathers, we have seen characters like Teba and Kass fly around and gain altitude and stuff. The updrafts help them, but they can fly on their own. They don’t glide, they can fly, end of story, I don’t take criticism, I’ll die on this hill.

To add to that, I think that they can’t gain height very quickly. They either need a long runway or stretch of land (kinda like a plane) to achieve height at an angle over time. Or, they start at an already elevated position (like the landings in Rito village) and gain height that way. 

So the reason Revali’s Gale is so useful, is because he can get super high up, very quickly, at anytime. It’s not dependent on his surroundings and such

And it’s also useful because it give him more airtime to shoot his bow and stuff

Rito Stable has a lot of lumber lying around, and there’s a bunch of axes and piles of wood there from the forest. I like to think that the Rito trade with them for supplies, considering all their equipment, weaponry, and houses are made of wood. (given that metal stuff is too heavy for flight and all)

That said, they don’t take more than they need. Their culture alone is very minimalist, (given that they’re sort of based off of South American mountain tribes like the Incans) so they’re the type of people who don’t throw anything away. Ergo, they don’t trade that often, only when they need to.

I hc that a lot of the careers and jobs they take up are more artsy based. Rather than scholars, or nobles, or farmers, they have a lot of artisans. Such as weavers, carpenters, musicians, cartographers (they can fly!) and what not. 

I think Amali is an architect, idk why. I just want someone to be an architect because Rito houses are so cool! Also Saki is a doctor and she and Teba met on a classic “warrior being healed” trope because I love them. And you know Teba’s a dumbass and gets himself hurt 24/7, especially when he was younger. (I mean, need I remind you he wanted to fight Medoh ALONE like what the shit man)

Also this is why Saki’s wary of Tulin being a warrior because what if he inherits Teba’s recklessness, you can’t worry your mom like that kid

Rito come from eggs. I also was struggling with this, because they’re aren’t any nests or anything…but I believe they’re birds first and foremost

Obviously I won’t go into details because this is a sfw blog, and I’m ace and have no idea how those things work, BUT they only have eggs when they want to. Having kids/eggs is a planned thing if that makes sense lmao. It’s not like chickens where they lay eggs constantly.

Opinions on Medoh: Welp, they’re not ones to immediately be on board with Sheikah technology. The Rito aren’t as ethnocentric as the Zora, but they kinda have their own air of “we don’t really need Sheikah/Hylian stuff butting into our lives.”

Also, their community is very tight knit, and they aren’t keen on the fact that the thing shot lasers at their family and friends. 

However, whenever someone trusted (like Link or Teba, who basically saved their village) tells them that Medoh’s all good now, they’ll probably loosen up a bit. 

OK! Last thing for this super dense post (sorry) but you know how during quarantine right now, people in Italy are just playing music out their balconies? Just to vibe with their neighbors?

So that, but for Rito music, not just Kass. People just sing out their windows, or strum their instruments over their balconies. There’s this silent agreement between them all, like “Yeah, we’re listening. Keep playing.”

(Also no one asked, but I think Kass’ Sheikah teacher [I call them Zimiri] specialized in the lute, although he was skilled in several instruments. He came to Rito village after the Calamity because he heard that the Rito are the best singers in Hyrule, and he wanted Link to hear his songs from someone with the best voice. Zimiri taught Kass the accordion because Kass was a natural at it, and he choose the instrument on purpose because it was the most lively and could be heard from far away. When Kass was little he would play his music in the heart shaped hole near the top of Rito Village for everyone to hear and be happy)

Pushing Daisies AU

So a long time ago, long enough I’m pretty sure I’ve deleted it, I made a Pushing Daisies AU with Miraculous Ladybug, and now it’s back.

Ned the Piemaker → Marinette Dupain-Cheng A piemaker, owner of the Pie Hole, and part-time PI assistant with the ability to bring the dead back to life.

Adrien Agreste or Félix Graham de Vilany → Charlotte “Chuck” Charles Marinette’s childhood sweetheart, and a formerly dead nephew to his shut-in aunts. He finds enjoyment in reading, beekeeping, and learning languages.

Emerson Cod → Alya Césaire A journalist turned PI that enlists Marinette’s help in solving cases. She is shown to knit in stressful times.

The Narrator → Tikki An omniscient and unseen force that narrates the series. She has a habit of giving measurements to the minute, and mainly acts to give facts.

Olive Snook → Rose Lavilliant A waitress at the Pie Hole. She’s a former horse jockey and friend of Adrien (or Félix)’s aunts by giving them secretly mood enhanced pies. She’s also a former horse jockey.

Digby → Trixx Marinette’s dog that was the first thing she brought back. Due to the nature of Marinette’s reanimation, the two cannot touch. Marinette pets him with a fake hand.

Vivian and Lily Charles → Emilie and Amalie Agreste (or Graham de Vilany) The agoraphobic aunts of Adrien (or Felix) and a former synchronized swimming duo. After the death of Adrien (or Felix)’s parents, they raised him.

Simone Hundin → Nino Lahiffe A DJ and suspect in a case Alya was investigating. Along with DJing, he enjoys an occasional gamble at a Dim Sum place nearby. After a couple hurdles, he and Alya begin dating.

Randy Mann → Juleka Couffaine A shy taxidermist that Marinette befriends. She owns a cat named Plagg and forms a crush on Rose.

Amalie Cyrille Dubois is a 32 year old something just parallel to human, by their own standards. After all, normal people don’t just make things rot like they do, and normal people don’t grow up like they do. There’s a lot of strange and interesting factoids to go through with her, so I’m going to do so in this post!

This is not a starter call, but feel free to contact me if you’d like to plot.

TWs for: Murder, Trauma

Basics: 

- 5′2 and pear shaped, Amalie is faster and far more limber than she might otherwise appear. It’s kind of spooky.

- Congratulations! You have now obtained the ability to sprint in very tall high heels. Use this ability wisely! (Because that’s the only shoes you’ll have.)

- While Amalie often keeps her hair flat ironed, that won’t last! Her hair will begin curling, and will eventually end up at this texture. She’ll be very keen to see that you don’t ruin said hair. 

- You’ll have access to a wardrobe of high fashion! It’s all very nice. Do note the perfectly tailored white suit, and the presence of a gas mask. 

- Amalie speaks very deliberately, and doesn’t say things unintentionally. Your muse may find themselves searching for the right words more frequently, or spend more time doing so. 

- Amalie speaks English, French, and Hebrew fluently! Your muse should feel at least a bit more familiar with texts in any of these languages, even if they can’t decipher it. 

- Amalie keeps kosher, and will grow ill upon tasting pork. Keep this in mind for your muse!

Powers: 

- Currently, Amalie only has access to their rot manipulation, which may only be used on small plants, and the energy from which may only be used for healing. 

- These powers take a good deal of focus to use, and someone not used to channeling them will likely become exhausted quickly. It’s difficult to maintain the process of rotting without practice. Healing will be even more difficult to channel, and holding that extra energy for long periods may induce nausea and dizziness. 

- Fits of intense emotions may cause unintentional acts of decomposition! Be careful!

Living Space:

- If you come across Amalie’s bedroom, note that it is a perfectly clean place, with an oddly cozy taste in decoration for someone who projects themselves so highly. Lots of knit fabric, warm colors, pretty curtains, and nice bed pillows.

- There is a stuffed rabbit doll on the bed. She’d prefer not to talk about it, but your muse should recognize it as a significant comfort item. 

- The bathroom and closet, in stark contrast, are white walled, places with a notable lack of mirrors. There is one in the bathroom, and a small magnifying mirror. It looks like another mirror has been removed (you can find it in the back of the closet). The entire vibe is sterile and clinical. 

- In the back of the closet, you may find a nondescript duffel back containing several knives, and a hacksaw. Don’t ask about it. 

- Amalie keeps her section of the kitchen kosher! Meat and dairy are strictly separated, and she has no pork or shellfish present in her food. Please don’t change that!

Memories and Mannerisms: 

- Amalie has killed people, both at home, and once in Isola. If your muse is in their body long enough, they’ll begin to realize this. 

- The memories are frequently fuzzy and contain a great deal of anger and a strange amount of grief. 

- Occasional flashbacks to traumatic events from childhood may occur. Amalie is particularly triggered by flashing lights, much like those of a camera. 

- Putting on the gas mask will result in a distinct sense of separation from one’s original self. It’s an uncomfortable feeling that disperses several minutes after removal. The gas mask and the white suit will cause a more intense, uncomfortable feeling. 

- Your muse will likely be particularly sensitive to violence, and as Amalie would, default to feeling angry over the situation. 

- It’s difficult to talk about things, and even more so trying to discuss heavier emotions. Your muse may feel more like clamming up, and may withdraw instead of socializing with others. 

- Amalie is an identical triplet! Most of her memories from being younger are either with her sisters, or being on set. It’s going to be strange to get snippets of, especially if your muse doesn’t know what television is (though it should feel ‘natural’, in a bitter sort of way).

Link and Zelda would absolutely adopt if they had the opportunity but the thing is… there aren’t really any opportunities. Hyrule’s population is pretty sparse compared to what it was pre-Calamity, communities are tight-knit, and children are well cared for and very much wanted. contraceptive elixirs are readily accessible, so there aren’t a lot of unplanned babies, and even in the unusual case of a child losing both parents to sickness or an accident, a neighbour or close friend of the family will generally take them in. nobody really thinks to call the weird wild boy who once brought them a bunch of lizards to ask him if he and his 100 year old girlfriend would like to adopt an orphan. 

so. they make do by surrounding themselves with loved ones. Kass and Amali have five daughters, Dorian has Koko and Cottla, and Hudson and Rhondson have three girls later down the track. they watch their friends’ children grow up and keep themselves busy. it’s hard sometimes, but they manage.

A. ROEGE HOVE aim is to challenge traditions with a modern and artistic approach to original craftsmanship. The unique designs are created each season by founder Amalie Røge Hove. With a master's in textile design from the Royal Danish Academy of fine arts, and years of experience as a knitwear designer for danish brands such as Cecilie Bahnsen and Mark Tan, she created the brand as a way of bringing her own visions of knitwear to life.

Defined by an experimenting and intuitive way of working with traditional knitwear techniques, the brand challenges our perception of shape and pushes our expectations of the materials and their behaviour.

Every knitted style is created through the vision of bringing life to the material. Different dimensions are created by the bodies that wear them. Like sculptures, they showcase different stories for every style, and as the pieces frame the body the real shape is brought to life by its owner.

though the former queen had been assigned to the team that would search for the cause of this horrific illness, amalie could only focus on two things: armitage and the baby inside her. her hand rested over her flat stomach now as she stood at the visitation window of the quarantined area, running it back and forth slowly. the father of her child was locked behind this door, and had a high risk of death within days. the stress was weighing down on her second by second, as her scattered emotions attempted to see reason and resolve through it all. but she could not.

for the searchers... as she heard the door behind her open, and a reflection in the widespread window appeared before her, amalie quickly dropped her hand to her side yet remained facing forward, her eyes glazed over with tears that had been falling since armitage had been taken from her. she knew that being out of her prison cell might come as a shock to most, but she could not find the strength to fear the visitor at the moment. 

for the quarantined... a figure began emerging from the shadows of the quarantined area, and amalie knitted her eyebrows slightly, remaining facing ahead. she was anxious and hopeful that it would be armitage, but was not gullible enough to know that it would be. “a-are you alright?” she choked out to the person through the glass, dropping her hand quickly from her abdomen.

Langblr activation challenge

This challenge was created by @languagessi. Since Denmark is in lockdown mode I thought I’d give it a shot, also because it actually encourages doing a lot of stuff, that I don’t normally do.

Week 1: Write an introduction post. 

 So, hello. My name is Amalie and I’m 20 years old. I’m born and raised in the wonderful little country of Denmark, which is not the capital of Sweden, and in which most people speak Danish – so do I. That was really just an overly complicated way to tell you that my native tongue is Danish.  Apart from Danish, I’m fluent in English (which I’ve been learning since age 9) and excellent at imitating Norwegian and Swedish in an overly exaggerated way.  Any way, most of the content I make here on tumblr is relating to Danish, as I am, after all, somewhat of an expert, if I do say so myself.  I “am learning” German and Spanish, but both are currently on hold, because I’m... not practicing.  It’s hard to place myself on an exact level, as for example I am able to understand quite complicated German (side effect of already speaking two Germanic languages and being good at making connections in my head), but I can barely string together a sentence on my own. However, my Austrian flatmate says that my accent is cute, so at least there’s that.  Apart from learning other languages I’m also quite interested in linguistics and honestly find grammar, semantics, etymology and all that nerdy shit really interesting.

 Generally I spend my freetime knitting and listening to podcasts. I started knitting for real back in October or November, and I’m really excited about the fact that I can see myself improving. I’ve tried to learn crocheting multiple times, but I literally cannot figure it out. I was not made for crocheting. As far as the podcasts go, I prefer narrative ones.  I am periodically really into journaling, and in extension of that lettering. When I find the time I sometimes try to do Art™, but frankly I’m not very good at it. I find it enjoyable though.  I greatly enjoy outdoorsy stuff and have been a scout since I was 7 years old. Currently, I volunteer full time at a scout centre and my life is slowly being taking over by scouting.  Lastly, I play the violin (sometimes... me and practice just aren’t working these days) and I love music. Like, I literally find it hard to put it into words, how incredibly important music is to me. I also kind of play piano and a little bit of ukulele and guitar and I like singing (who doesn’t).

As a final little fun fact, if you hadn’t guessed it yet, I’m largely an aural learner.
