95. Symptomatic

Eretria groans as Amberle drops yet another blanket on her. “I’m not sick,” she complains. She tries to move but the weight of the blankets keeps her still. 

“You’re symptomatic,” Amberle grumbles. She pulls out a water bottle, cans of soup, and tissues from her bag. Then she takes out a thermometer, cough drops, and cold medicine. 

“I’m not sick,” Eretria repeats louder, but her voice cracks from the effort. When she tries to sit up, the room spins. 

A hand pushes her back into the soft mattress. Amberle stares at her with an unamused expression. “You don’t get to argue until you’re fever free for at least 24 hours.” 

With a huff, Eretria relents, letting Amberle dote on her. She knows she’s not going to win this argument anyway.

Eretria and Amberle fans still exist ?! I swear those girls had way more chemistry together than they did with Will. Well, even if I also admit to having ship Eretria and Will (happy that they end up together in the books by the way), she and Amberle are the superior ship. Frankly, if the show had been on another channel and Amberle hadn't died, I strongly suspect we could have easily ended up with a trouple. (and I'm talking about the series, not the book)

Personally, if there is a ship that reminds me of these two, well, Jade and Kit gesture, in the Willow series. They strangely reminded me of my love for Princess Rover.

Everything's Gay in June

June 2 Prompt: Garden Hose

The dirt is dry beneath Amberle’s fingers as she buries the roots of the colorful flowers they’re planting in their flowerbeds. The summer sun beats down fiercely and unrelentingly. A glance upward tells her there are no clouds above to give her any relief and she’s 90% sure she feels sunburn on the back of her neck. Plus, these flowers are going to need some water if they have any chance of—

A burst of cold water hits her back, soaking through her clothes. The shock almost sends her face-first into the dirt. A loud laugh fills the air around her. “Eretria!” Amberle glares back at the grinning woman.

“What?” Amberle knows Eretria is trying to act innocent but the smirk gives her away. “The gay flowers need water!”

Amberle rolls her eyes but her frown quickly morphs into a smile. “Just because they’re colorful”—quite literally a rainbow of flowers—“does not mean they’re gay. You can’t just call things gay because it’s June either.”

“Says you.” She lifts the garden hose in her hand. The water still pours out, saturating the dirt. “See this hose?” she asks and Amberle nods. “It’s gay,” she says with a shrug.

“Gay?” Amberle sarcastically asks.

“Gay,” Eretria confirms with a nod. She covers the hose with her thumb, making the water spray outward. In the mist, a large rainbow forms. “See?”

Amerle laughs but nods nonetheless. “Gay.”
