to answer the “straight up question” — if mmb isn’t working this summer in europe due to personal reasons, it wouldn’t automatically write her off from the other wd franchises bc amc clearly has no end date in mind for twdu. she could be offered and up to filming something in six months or several years. i also believe they are leaving the door open to reassure everyone she lives through 11c without having to say it outright

Yes, I believe you're right. But see, this is what's so baffling. They could have waited until early next year to film to give everyone a break, give AK time to finish up on the main show, promote at SDCC23, and air the Caryl spinoff in the fall. In fact I was so sure that had to be the plan to begin with. Instead, AMC decides to put two women out of a job, upset its loyal fanbase, and completely ruin the final stretch of the main series. All for what? To push the Rick angle? They would have had a very strong viewership if they had just stuck to the original road show concept.

So yesterday I ordered tie rod ends because some of the rod ends look old, some look less old and crumbly, but I wanted to make sure that everything matched age. I also have read on many AMC forums that even though they are new replacement parts, the rubber boots on tie rod ends and ball joints are not great. However, poly dust boots apparently last a very long time. Waiting on those to come in, so I'll take apart the other side.

This time, I documented my process a little better. According to the Technical Service Manual, you have to take the shock absorber out first. All the hardware is half inch or 9/16 inch heads

The upper shock mount is held in with three nuts and two bolts. The shock bolts to that and in two spots on the coil spring perch. The upper part is pretty explanatory as all the hardware is visible and easily taken out even with a big air impact wrench. The bottom two are a little trickier. I found that the easiest way is to jack up the car on the suspension arm, compressing it, and the angle of the arm widens the window of the arm. The outer nut can be removed by a ratchet-end wrench, or as I like to call them, "Flatchets" (flat ratchet). The inner nut has to be removed with the suspension compressed, and I got it off with a 3/8 inch drive socket and six inch extension.

After the hardware and upper shock mount are removed through the fender, I started taking off extraneous things that would hold the assembly in to the car. I removed the brake line, because the assembly is heavy and the brake line is small rubber. I removed the steering tie rod, and while the rubber boot looked nice and pliable, it was stuck on and the rod end was rusty. It had to be removed with an air impact hammer with pickle fork tool.

From there, I removed the nuts for the Upper Control Arm bolts, so that when I compressed the spring, they would just need to be knocked out.

Again, the suspension needs to be compressed, the TSM basically calls for every operation on the front suspension to start with removing shocks and compressing coil springs. I have the car on jack stands, but the car needs to be lifted beyond what my jack stands were set to in order to get the compression needed. I then put on my grandfather's old Horrible Fright Harbor Freight spring compressors, tightening them down as equally as possible. After a bit, I let the floor jack holding the car up down, letting the car rest back on the jack stand and the spring made some grumbling. I had my dad help me tap out the UCA bolts, and the assembly and spring fell out.

I carefully took out the spring and released the compressor. It's scary to have a loaded spring ready to break free. From there, it was just a matter of undoing hardware.

I couldn't reach the nuts holding the strut rod to the car because the exhaust pipe is right where I need to put my impact wrench, so that's staying there for now.

Since my car has drum brakes in front, I had to take apart the drum from the brake and undo the four bolts holding the steering arm, knuckle, spindle, and brake housing together.

Lastly, the upper and lower ball joints had to come out. A couple squirts of WD-40 and blasts of the air impact pickle fork, and my parts came free!

It was about 8:30 by that point, and rainy all day so I'm done for the day. Tomorrow, I get to clean my suspension components and remove the old, torn ball joints. It's gonna be more bath time!

Thank you for weighing in on my original post on this. So, a couple of days later, another questionaire was posted asking which "dead doctor" you would bring back. Pictured first was, drum roll please, a big facial portrait shot, Dr Stephen Edwards. Of course, he's not dead as far as we know. Grady is a huge plot hole - supplies, growing food, weapons and people trained to use them, medical supplies and a highly skilled DOCTOR.....and Rick and crew just walk away??????? Never return for supies, help?????  Doesn't make sense at all to me.

Also, the WD 30 Day Challenge was listed. Each day a new question and we answer. Day one was Carol or Beth?  In upcoming days there is also Caryl or Bethyl (no Donnie or Darsita), best couple, saddest scene, person who deserves better, and best good person. Seriously, asking  Carol or Beth on Day 1 ahead of Rick or Daryl on Day 2?

Again, I see no evidence this FB group is connect to AMC but all of this just seems more and more suspicious...as if Beth is being deliberately suggested to TWD audience.

Ooh, very interesting that Beth is the first question, even before Daryl. And you know, despite not seeing any overt, official link to AMC, I can't help but think they must be behind it. Unless your Facebook group is specifically a shipper group (let me know) there's really no reason to start with Beth vs Carol question. Most non-shipping parts of the fandom hate the shipping wars, and avoid them at all costs. Just saying.

The Dr. Edwards thing is super interesting as well. Because in terms of the show's canon, we don't know that he's dead. As you say, Rick's group left him alive and well after Beth was shot.

To be fair, Nicotero did say in an interview a couple of years back that the Grady people were "probably dead. Uh, yeah, um, yeah that's it. Dead."

Yeah, let me tell you how convincing it was.

And I'm not saying that they AREN'T dead necessarily. Lots of stuff could have happened between Coda and where they are now in the present narrative. But the point is, they're clearly thinking about it. They know exactly what happened with Grady, so we can safely assume that it will eventually come up again at some point in the show.

اكتشفت مجموعة من الباحثين تسريب شبكة AMC التلفزيونية الأمريكية 1.6 مليون من سجلات اشتراك مستخدميها عن طريق الخطأ لكل من خدمتيها للبث المتلفز Sundance Now وShudder، حيث شملت المعلومات المسربة بيانات البريد الالكتروني للمشتركين بالإضافة لنوع خطة الدفع التي يتبعوها؛ كما تم تسريب 6000 من قسائم وصولات الدفع التي احتوت أخر 4 أرقام من البطاقات الائتمانية المسددة لها.

فيما لم يذكر أن التسريبات احتوت معلومات وبيانات مالية كاملة حول أصحاب هذه الاشتراكات مما يعنى أنها لم تكن حساسة بدرجة عالية لتشكل خطراً عليهم من هذه الناحية، لكن من جانب أخر قد أظهر الباحثين أن البيانات قد احتوت أكثر من 441 ألف سجل تم جمعها بواسطة شركة تحليل الفيديو Youbora، شملت عنوانين IP والرمز البريدي والموقع والمدينة والولاية التي يقطنها صاحب الاشتراك بالإضافة لمعلومات تخص الجهاز المستخدم لعرض محتوى البث المباشر.

والجدير بالذكر أنه تم إعلام شبكة AMC بالمشكلة من قبل المجموعة الأمنية ليتم بعدها إخفاء قاعدة البيانات ومنع الوصول إليها من قبل جمهور المستخدمين.

News, News, News - ComicCon at Home I

Im Jahr 2020 ist alles anders, aber trotzdem versucht man alles irgendwie stattfinden zu lassen. Auch die ComicCon, deren Panels nun eben gestreamt werden anstatt vor einen Livepublikum stattzufinden. Realisitisch gesehen ist die Ära der ComicCons vorbei für vermutlich sehr lange Zeit. Die AustriaComicCon denkt zwar nach wie vor sie würde im September stattfinden und behauptet Gäste zu haben, aber wie wahrscheinlich besonders das Zweite ist, nun darüber dürften wir uns alle einig sein. Die meisten anderen Cons wurden abgesagt - entweder offiziell oder unter der Hand, jedes Mal, wenn es keinen Kartenvorverkauf gibt, ist das ein ziemlich deutliches Zeichen. Ausländische Gäste sind für die nächste Zukunft auf jeden Fall eher nicht möglich, womit sich hier zu Lande die Frage stellt wofür genau man eigentlich den Eintrittspreis zahlt. Und genau deswegen gibt es die ComicCon@Home and den DCFandome - damit wir für die entsprechende Erlebnisse nichts zahlen müssen, die Firmen aber trotzdem die Möglichkeit haben ihre neuen Produkte vorzustellen.

Ob das war sie uns darüber erzählen, was die Veröffentlichung betrifft, dann stimmt steht wieder auf einem andere Blatt. Der “New Mutants”-Trailer weiß das und macht sich darüber lustig, aber noch so viel daumenhalten kann nichts helfen, wenn die Studios immer noch auf die großen US-Kinoketten warten. Allerdings wurde inzwischen laut, dass Filme wie etwa “Tenet” möglicherweise nur in der USA ins Nirwana verschoben wurden, aber international trotzdem zum letztangekündigten Termin starten. Das würde eine Rettungsleine für “The New Mutants”, die momentan Ende August starten sollen. Aber ob es wirklich so weit kommt, weiß niemand. Fest steht, dass die Studios nicht alle ihre großen Blockbuster ständig weiter nach hinten verschieben können, denn damit würden sie das System Kino im Endeffekt töten und hätten dann erst nichts von ihrem Filmstart Mitte 2021, da es zu diesem Zeitpunkt keine Kinobetreiber mehr gäbe.

Sicherer sind Fernsehen und Streaming, wo kleinere Produktionen, die das Kino verpasst haben über kurz oder lang auch landen werden. Die letzten Monate haben den Verantwortlichen Zeit gegeben zu planen und manche dieser Pläne sind ... verwunderlich.

AMC hat auf uns über die Zukunft der “Walking Dead”-Franchise informiert und damit verwirrt. Das Finale der 10. Staffel, sowie beide Spin-Offs gibt es im Oktober zu sehen. So weit so gut.  “A World Beyond” bewirbt sich jetzt schon selbst als “2 Seasons Limited Event” was zeigt wie sehr sich Werbestrategien geändert haben - heutzutage ist man froh, wenn bei einer Serie ein Ende schon in Sicht zu sein scheint, was eigentlich noch zu Beginn dieses Jahres eine eher seltsame Werbestrategie gewesen wäre, aber bitte. Es stellt sich eher die Frage, wann und ob sie die geplante 2. Staffel überhaupt drehen können, oder ob sie die bereits gedrehten Episoden einfach auf zwei Hälften aufteilen, was aber ein bereits vorhandenes zufriedenstellendes Ende voraussetzt. “Fear the Walking Dead” wird einfach das ausstrahlen, was fertig gedreht wurde, also ungefähr die halbe Staffel, und die fehlenden Episoden werden wie im Fall aller anderen vom Lock Down betroffenen Serien auf die nächste Staffel verschoben. Es wäre nicht das erste Mal, dass eine WD-Serie aus nur sechs Episoden besteht. Nächstes Jahr gibt es dann noch 6 weitere Folgen der 10. Staffel von “The Walking Dead”. Ja, ihr habt richtig gelesen, von der Staffel deren verspätetes Finale groß für Oktober im selben Atemzug wie diese Aussage angekündigt wurde. Nach diesem Oktober-Finale geht Staffel 10 nächstes Jahr noch mal mit sechs Folgen weiter, was bedeuten würde, dass die 10. Staffel die längste WD-Staffel allerzeiten wäre mit 22 Episoden.

Was schlecht ist für unsereins, die auf eine FreeTV, Netflix, und DVD-Veröffentlichung im Herbst gehofft haben. Aber vielleicht kommen die 15 lange fertig ausgestrahlten Folgen ja trotzdem in all diesen Formen zu uns - und die sieben anderen werden extra veröffentlicht. Wir können nur hoffen und uns wundern warum diese sechs Folgen nächstes Jahr nicht einfach die 11. Staffel sein können, die dann eben kürzer wäre. Ein Grund ist vielleicht die Tatsache, dass diese besagten Folgen mit minimalen Cast auskommen wollen und nicht den Season 11 Cast verwenden werden sondern etwa nur Michonne oder Maggie auf Einzelabenteuer zeigen. Möglicheweise handelt es sich bei diesen sechs Folgen mehr um eine Mini-Serie ala “Gods of the Arean” und sie sollen vor allem die Zeit bis zur verschobenen Staffel 11 überbrücken. Warum man dann aber nicht einfach Serie 4 mit irgendeinem anderen Titel aus diesen Folgen macht, sei dahingestellt. Nur AMC weiß warum.

Unterdessen gab es beim “Star Trek”-Panel nichts Neues außer den ersten paar Minuten von “Lower Decks”, das die Amerikaner ab Anfang August sehen können, wir hier vermutlich sehr viel später oder niemals. Letzters wäre vielleicht auch kein Verlust, da sich die Serie in die Trek-Enttäuschungen der letzten Jahre einzuordnen scheint. Wer “Star Trek” typischen Humor erwartet hat oder auch nur Humor ala “Orville” wird bitter enttäuscht - “Lowe Decks” sieht sich als Comedy-Serie für Kinder und Jugendliche wie es scheint, und hat nach denm Trailer und dem Opening zu urteilen also für die meisten eingefleischten Fans nicht viel zu bieten, selbst wenn man sich mit dem Animationsstil abfindet. Wer auf Informationen über die dritte Staffel von “Discovery” gehofft hat, hat falsch gehofft.

Unterdessen hat Keanu Reeves “Constantine”-Film Geburstag gefeiert, was die vielen News um den Film herum der letzten Zeit erklärt. Scheinbar ist ein neuer Film geplant. Ob das in DC üblicher Manier bedeutet, dass wir uns von Matt Ryans wundervollen Arrowverse-Version von John Constantine nach der sechsten Staffel von “Legends of Tomorrow” auf unbestimmte Zeit oder gar für immer verabschieden müssen, ist nicht bekannt, aber leider durchaus möglich. Warum DC sich immer selbst ans Bein pinkeln muss, werden wir nie verstehen. HBOmax scheint ja alle Serien vom DCApp zu übernehmen und auch eine Serie zum neuen Batman-Film zu machen, deren Inhalt nicht nur Ben McKenzie seltsam vertraut vorkommt. Und dann ist das noch der Snyder-Cut, über den ich gar nicht mehr sprechen will, weil ... “Justice League” sich langsam aber sicher nicht nur zum größten Fehler im Warner-Katalog auswächst und ich und der Rest der Welt das Thema einfach satt hat.

ComicCon@Home war also bisher eher vewirrend und bescheidend, was den Newsoutput angeht, aber vielleicht ändert sich das ja noch. Wir werden sehen.

The third Walking Dead show will focus on two young female protagonists who come of age during the Apocalypse. So a young adult series. That sounds just wonderful. Why can’t they just focus on the original series and make it really good?

Mod- I would have to agree with you ANOTHER show is not the best idea. I am not a fan of the idea of the movies either. Stick with the two shows you have and focus on getting viewers back. I can not for the life of me figure out why anyone would say this is a good idea when the ratings have been struggling with the shows they already have. Why would AMC sink more money into more shows instead of working on the ones they already have? In my opinion this gives the current shows TWD and FTWD a safety pass from being cancelled. There is no way the “walking dead world” could survive without it’s original show. What do you guys think?

AMC just save Walking Dead. Took a huge time jump, not making the audience suffer through like the mast few seasons, no bull shit, just diving in to new plot points. Substituting Judith for Carl is going to earn them points representation-wise with Michonne as a strong female lead being the mother figure, they can dive right into reformed Negan without the audience being forced to buy everyone changing their opinions in a week, I’m super excited to see where the show goes. And keeping Rick alive was so smart. They left themselves a back door for Lincoln to come back in a couple years after making those WD TV movies which I’m sure will be good if they let Gimple pull the reigns. If AMC is smart they will churn out live action material related to the Tell Tale series.

I never knew AMC lied about forth season. Now, I’m even angrier that they cancelled the series (and we get a worthless WD spinoff probably on saved money from into the badlands)

Yes, back when season 3 was originally airing on AMC I had been following the first half of the season religiously. I didn't care about anything on the channel except Into The Badlands and even though Stephen Lang wasn't a part of the season I was hoping he was returning at some point.

Which is why I was so psyched when then broke for the season and did their 'midseason' finale...and outright let the fans of the series know that not only would ITB be back, later on, that year for the other half of season 3, they also let us know that it was picked up for season 4.

A year after the first half of the season aired we were informed that season 3 was the last season. With nothing else really said on why we weren't getting another season when it was stated we were.

It was really a bitter fate for the series and I am still so bitter that they canceled it in the way they did.
