I’m still reeling after Super Bowl LVIII, so I’m going to make a deranged check list of what happened for anyone who didn’t see it:

Nickelodeon did a stream of the game from Bikini Bottom. Patrick and SpongeBob were commentating.

The Taylor Swift cut-to counter was 12.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ head coach looks like a walrus.

The halftime show as a live performance by Usher with a lot of features and there was a marching band there. Total 2000’s flashback.

Post Malone performed America the Beautiful before the game. He did good.

Reba McEntire sang the National Anthem better than most people have.

Michael Cera did a commercial with CeraVe, a skincare brand, because his last name is Cera.

The Chiefs fumbled the ball (dropped it, therefore making it anyones game who gets to it before the play is called dead) and Patrick and SpongeBob began saying to “Firmly grasp it” while everyone was trying to see who recovered the ball.

Travis Kelce, on the Chiefs who is dating a Taylor Swift and that’s part of why there’s a lot of attention on him, saved the game in my opinion and caught an insane catch.

Yes they cut to Taylor swift after that.

Ice Spice was there.

Usher began roller skating in his performance.

Jackson State University was the marching band that performed with Usher.

The Nickelodeon human commentators were both having to keep up the energy of a childrens broadcast while explaining what was happening in the game.

The In-zone was the slime zone ^.

Patrick did make a Texas joke.

I believe your American and as someone who is not can you please tell me the obsession with baseball and American football cause I keep seeing stories on here and other things about it and I have no clue about it haha thanks.

Haha, well I’m not sure how much I can explain beyond saying that both baseball and American football are hugely popular sports here in the United States. Baseball is especially popular—it’s literally been nicknamed “America’s Pastime.” People are really passionate about the teams they root for, and a lot of teams have well-known rivalries (the Mets and the Phillies being an example I’ve mentioned).

Miles Teller is a big sports fan. He roots for the Phillies (a baseball team) and the Eagles (a football team). They’re both Philadelphia teams. If you’re a fan of his, that’s probably why you’ve seen a lot of people talking about it.

I’m not a big football fan, but I am a baseball fan, so if you have any other questions, let me know!
