During the new promo, Mother Olm says “Summoning such power comes at a price,”which could either mean the cores helmet had to do something to summon the moon, or more likely anne might have to sacrifice something to share her power/stop the moon, maybe having to change/lose her arm

I get it that we just had Grime, and this could just be me looking w a y to far into it, but i felt the need to share this mile-long stretch of a theory

anne watches the movie by herself.

it feels sacred, the first time she inserts the CD- it had always been left at her house because her house is where they had the most sleepovers. it feels sacred, because anne has never seen this movie without her friends, and the plantars aren't even here, they're downstairs, and she could call them up but that too feels wrong.

so she watches the movie by herself.

the beginning she knows well enough she can recite it by memory. she finds herself mouthing along to the characters, surprising even herself with how many details she genuinely remembers. she couldn't recall a single thing about this movie when she was asked, but here she is, tears in her eyes as she imagines the what-ifs and could-have-beens.

by the middle, things get blurry and faded. this is around the time where her interest would wane before amphibia, when sasha would pull up memes on her phone to show off, when distractions became a blessing because anne had been bored. she'd been bored, and she hadn't wanted to watch marcy's dumb movie that she made them watch every single time, and sasha had clearly felt the same way so that meant it was okay, right?

anne's not bored now.

here in this setting, she can understand why marcy liked the movie so much. it was right up her alley, with daring fights, powerful magic, and intense emotions, perfect for a fantasy loving teenager. anne almost hates how much she enjoys this now, because there's a stinging guilt inside her chest, one that whispers in her head that she should've done more, she should've been better, she should've cared.

maybe if she had cared, marcy wouldn't have started hiding her feelings and not talking about what was bothering her. maybe if she had put in the effort, marcy would've felt secure in the knowledge that they would stay friends with her even if she moved. maybe if she had...

...the movie ends, and anne's crying now, sniffling silently so she doesn't attract the attention of her family downstairs. she thinks she might recall the epic speech at the end - one where the enemy is defeated by the power of friendship, where no cracks or dents in the main character's friendships are permanent, where they get to return home victorious - but only because marcy would recite it all the time and not because she's actually seen it herself. it's a good ending to a good movie- why hadn't she paid attention to it before?

one day marcy, she promises, swallowing down the fear and the guilt and the shame, one day we'll watch this together and I'll pay attention. i promise.

Calamity Cycle Theory

It's just an update to the previous version of that theory because The Cycle still makes sense and the fact that The Core also has no idea what the stones are... made me think a bit about all of this. I still think that the Calamity Cycle Theory still works but... differently. Last time I focused on explaining the prophecy, but it's a fantasy world, prophecies CAN happen. But let's focus on the theory.

First of all - Matt is a HUGE Zelda nerd and it shows. Honestly I based the first Calamity Cycle theory on how Triforce Cycle works, with three mighty powers, how ithey're tied with fate of three people and it's goal is to fight a huge threat. And I stil think it works that way, but it will be relevant later.

The Calamity Cycle works like the Three Day Cycle from Majora's Mask. The Cycle that each time ended with failure. It's a doomed timeline and the power of the stones travel from timeline to timeline to give everyone "one shot at salvation". I know that this sounds stupid but hear me out. When Leif sees "the future"

there's an effect mostly associated with flashback, the old cinema filter. Which means this isn't the future, this already happened, those are memories of the previous cycles.

But the Calamity Cycle still works similarly to the Triforce Cycle but there are several... pieces that are missing but let's ignore this matter for a moment.

Somehow, fates of our three girls were tied with the the powers of the stones in the first Cycle, and remember, the Olm's prophecy put an emphasis on a choice - "should they fight or embrace the fall", and their choice was always the same, and it always started another Cycle. And whatever has happened in the first one, started the whole prophecy.

But there are still several things that don't add up:

How can girls prevent the Great Calamity (YES THIS IS HOW I'M CALLING THE WHOLE MOON FALL THING)?

Why girl's fates are tied with the stones?

What is the power of the stones?

Only informations about stones are the fact that they represent the power of Heart, Wit and Strength, what might mean Soul, Mind and Body, the three human components, and the fact that they carry incredible amounts of energy (the moment when Terri called Anne a "human battery"). But we still have no idea what is the source of that energy, but if we analyze the whole theory I just wrote I think I might have an answer.

Stones carry all the lost lives in the previous Cycles, the stones are made from living beings. This is why Anne said that using her powers feels "bad", not "evil", not "wrong", she's using the energy of lives that are long gone. And what Leif saw, were just memories of some of those who died.
