Realized I could just make a poll for this...
Tumblr media
Let me know what you think! I consider this character an honorary Stan, since he's still voiced by Hirsch and is basically Stan's frogsona, so it could be fun to include him in here for folks who might want to see references of him. But he isn't a Stan Stan, thus why I ask.

Did anyone notice that in Amphibia, Season 2 episode 5, Wax Museum: When "The Curator" gets dragged into the storage closet, there's a message behind the door that says "dipcifica 4 lyfe"? (Its a cipher and I just deciphered it)

All in the Mind was so good, it might just be my favorite episode of TGAMM overall. It inspired me to ask: What’s your favorite episode(s) of each of your favorite DTVA shows?
This is a little difficult to choice because there are many episodes greats, but if i had to do a list, i think it will be like this:
The Ghost And Molly McGee: Innocent Until Proven Ghostly / Scaring is Caring / the S1 Finale / Double, Double, Darryl & Trouble / A Soda to Remember / The (After)life of the Party / 100% Molly McGee / Jinx! / The Ghost Is Molly McGee and of course All in The Mind (and many others in s1 and 2 but thoses are my most favorite)
The Owl House: Adventures in the Elements / Understanding Willow / Echoes of the Past / Throught the Looking Glass Ruins / Eda's Requiem / Eclipse Lake / Reaching Out / Hollow Mind / Clouds on The Horizon / King's Tide and Watching and Dreaming
Gravity Falls: Little Dipper / Carpet Diem / Soos and the Real Girl / Not What he Seems / A tales of two Stans / the entire Weirdmaggedon arc.
Amphibia: Hop-Popular / Cursed! / Anne Hunter / Wax Museum / Marcy at the Gates / Ivy on the Run / Bessie & MicroAngelo / Fight at the Museum / Olivia & Yunan / The Core & The King / All In and The Hardest Thing
I also watched all of the episodes of Hailey's On It aired to this day, i don't have any favorite episode for the moment but i found them enjoyable.

okay I'm watching the Amphibia episode "Wax Museum" which is a semi-crossover with Gravity Falls, with Alex Hirsch voicing froggy versions of Stan Pines (don't know if his first name's actually Stan but his surname is Ponds) and Soos (his name is just Frog Soos) in a business called the Curiosity Hut (featuring multiple Bill Ciphers in the décor)
anyway Frog Stan (as I will call him) has created a number of exhibits by trapping creatures in shells of wax (as he intends to do to Anne) and Hop Pop, Sprig and Polly are setting them free by melting the wax. There's a group of fromes (frog gnomes) and as Polly frees them one by one they exclaim "Woohoo!" "Woohoo!" and then "Schmebulock!" (because of course there's a frog Schmebulock)
and the Disney+ subtitler, clearly in desperation, captioned "Schmebulock!" as "Wish me luck!"

I feel Amphibia coming back as an obsession.
I was watching Gravity Falls and I decided to show my family the Wax Museum episode of Amphibia, plus a few other scenes, and now I wanna rewatch the whole thing
So here's a post to start us off, the trio as adults are all dating. It's a long distance poly relationship. Literally nothing anyone says can change my mind. Sashannarcy real.

The Planters aren't entirely sure what to expect from these giants.
The first was huge and muscular and a skilled hunter and, while from different worlds, an example of what Anne could be as an adult (although they wouldn't learn until later that included the skill in magic). She also had a plethora of battle scars.
The second was less bulky and more doll like, but had wings, a clear indication of a predator to the Planters. He was alien in disposition, almost like a fey creature in mentality, and had many of the tells of a predator in these actions. Luckily, these tendencies would not be pointed at you unless you first showed hostility to him.
So far, physical traits were decent metrics of judging these people, although first one would have to take Anne's kindness as a baseline with none of her naivety. The third would continue the pattern of Anne as a baseline. It would not continue the pattern of physical signs.
Xisuma was whiplash at every step. At first, they had mistaken him for another robot of this old factory as he had changed his armor to frog mode. His ability to speak and respond and clumsiness and Anne's realization that the screen in the middle of his face was a visor for a helmet, gave them the realization that this was probably a hermit. When their other two hermits told the others that this klutz in thick power armor seemingly to protect him more from his own two left feet than monsters was their admin, something they had gotten the impression from False and Grian's stories was a God-like being with great powers of creation and death that governed a great ship which traversed the stars, but did not seem to be treated with any degree of reverence by the other two beyond what you may give a village mayor, they hoped that maybe he was some form of exception to the rules they had gaged for the hermits. Deep down, they new, however, that he most certainly was not.
I had a different intro in mind for X, involving a certain wax museum, but I love this & it fits thematically, so Fort in the Road is now what happens instead (this also means Xisuma's present for Quarreler's Pass, one more person Hop Pop has to convince to let Sprig & Polly go it alone).
After False & Grian (& Scar, met but currently with Sasha), the Plantars were ready to take whatever weirdness the next Hermit they ran into carried at face value, the only question being what extreme away from Anne's standard they'd be in for.
Understandably, a supposedly god-like entity who's seemingly just a clumsy dude in pressurized armor - & the first time he takes the helmet off proves he really is just some human guy - feels like a bit of a contradiction. Sprig & Polly take it in stride, while Hop Pop is more suspicious/inquisitive, knowing from the power someone as visibly mundane as Grian can display that looks aren't everything.
For now, though, X is the bearer of bad news for Grian & False. As they'd feared, he's absent his admin powers in Amphibia, & attempts to make some form of contact with a local divinity to cut a deal have failed. In the meantime, he's been stuck scouting, his suit's control link to the Hermithius severed in the scattering (though when he learns Anne's involvement, he assures the guilt-ridden girl the ship's programmed to auto-rendezvous, so its fine). He's gotten a good idea of the local populations, but has steered clear of direct encounters til now. He's been at this factory for several weeks before the Plantar group & their shenanigans rocked up, time spent trying to adapt his armor with local technology to better blend in (might be a plot-line here where he briefly looses control of his suit due to Amphibia tech trying to take over, but we'll see).
Anne, Sprig & Polly all think his armor is cool, though he laments that diamond or netherite exo-plating (my thought on how X wears Minecraft armor) would've been a better option, still, confusing the frog kids & giving Anne food for thought, as False has so far only loosely gone over the "tiers" of armor the Hermits have access to.
Right now, he's just a guy in a suit. But he's a guy in a suit with the mission to bring the Hermits - his family of choice - back together.

So since me and my friend are watching Amphibia, I can’t wait till we hit season 2 (hehe ignore the fact that we’ve already watched a bunch of big episodes (Reunion, True Colors, The Hardest Thing, Marcy at the Gates) and at least one smaller episode (Sprivy) without context) and I can’t wait until we watch Wax Museum.
The only problem with that is that, well… she hasn’t watched Gravity Falls. She’s seen a couple episodes, so hopefully she’ll get the reference at least a bit.

Mystery Monday #14: Who is Anne Boonchuy?
Anne Boonchuy is a lot of things -- a 13 year old girl, a human, a person -- and today, we're going to talk about who else she is.
In the Reunion and All-In flashbacks, Anne is a passive follower who will just do what Sasha and Marcy want to do because it's easier.
Starting in Anne or Beast?, she is a monster that came from the woods.
Starting in Best Fronds, she is Sprig's best friend.
In Dating Season, Sprig introduces her to Ivy as "oddity from another world."
Gradually working its way towards a conclusion in Family Shrub, Anne is a member of the Plantar family.
Gradually building up starting in Lily Pad Thai, she is a friend to the rest of Wartwood, starting with Stumpy.
In the same episode, she becomes John Tapper and reenacts an episode of Bar Rescue.
Starting in Toad Tax, she is an accepted and respected member of the town of Wartwood. (Didn't take long for that second one)
In Snow Day, she is the Town Protector of Wartwood.
Starting in Combat Camp, she becomes a fighter.
In Anne of the Year, she is the Frog of the Year and is recognized by the town of Wartwood as having come a long way.
During Anne of the Year and Reunion, she is the de facto leader of Wartwood. Afterwards, she becomes the hero of Wartwood, as well as an enemy of Sasha and Grime.
On the road to (and in) Newtopia, Anne finds herself once again a freak (Wax Museum)
and a monster (Little Frogtown).
In Scavenger Hunt, Anne becomes a helper to the kid who lost her kill-a-pillar in a tree, and a friend to her, to Doris, and to Gertie.
In Return to Wartwood, we learn that Anne was the life of Wartwood, the one who kept it an interesting place to live.
When Marcy moves to Wartwood, Anne is the role model the residents hope she will turn into (New Wartwood).
In The Second Temple, Anne completes her journey towards becoming the heart Calamity Stone.
When Sasha is around, Anne jumps into the role of peacekeeper between her and the Plantars (The Third Temple and The Dinner).
In True Colors, she gains cool "Anne-ime" powers, and "Anne-drias" shows us what she could have become had she followed a different path.
In The New Normal, Anne goes back to being her parents' daughter, but this time she adds on roles as a responsible caretaker and a student of dimension hopping technology.
In Turning Point, Anne is the inspiration for Sasha to start the Wartwood Rebellion.
Later in the same episode and in Fight at the Museum and Anne-Sterminator, she develops into a better fighter.
In Mr. X, Hollywood Hop Pop, If You Give a Frog a Cookie, and Escape to Amphibia, Anne becomes a better protector while avoiding Mr. X and Dr. Frakes.
In "Comm-Anne-der" (Commander Anne), we learn that Anne was the fuel that kept Sasha and the Wartwood Rebellion going.
In the same episode, we learn that she is decidedly NOT a military commander.
From Newts in Tights thru The Three Armies, Anne was the driving force behind gathering troops to the rebellion's cause (as the social one)
and helping them get along, once again playing the role of peacekeeper / mediator. We even learn that she played this role before, when she got the track team and the band to get along by pointing out their need for lung control. (Speaking of which, no, Anne, that was not the only award you've ever gotten. You won Frog of the Year.)
And in the grand finale, Anne becomes the hero who singlehandedly saved two worlds in one day (or as Hop Pop put it, "the greatest kid who ever...")
I'll come out with more posts on this topic soon, so watch for those. But that's all for now. See you next week for another Mystery Monday!

I've been doing good. I don't really have a particular favorite so I'll just put them in order.
For Amphibia my favorite episodes would have to be Anne or Beast/Best Fronds, Hop Luck/ Stakeout, The Domino Effect/Taking Charge, Anne Theft Auto, Girl Time, Dating Season/Anne Vs. For The Owl House my favorite episodes would have to be A Lying Witch and a Warden, Witches before Wizards, I Was A Teenage Abomination, The Intruder, Convention, Hooty's Moving Hastle, The First Day, Understanding Willow, Enchanted Grom Fright, Agony of a Witch, Young Blood Old Souls, Separate Tides, Escape Explusion, Echos of the Past, Keeping Up A-fear-ences, Through the Looking Glass Ruins, Hunting Palismen, Eda's Requiem, Knock Knock Knockin' On Hooty's Door, Eclipses Lake, Yesterday's Lie, Foilies at Coven Day Parade, Elsewhere and Elsewhen, Any Sport in a Storm, Reaching Out, Them's the Breaks Kid, Hollow Mind, Edge of the World, Labyrinth Runners, O Titan Where Art Thou, Clouds on the Horizon, King's Tide.
Sorry. I know that these are long list. I just love these shows and both of their lighthearted, funny, action packed, and angst episodes.

OH same anon from before. two other things: would you ever do this for other characters? like with chapters who aren’t as prevalent as stan like ford or wendy? (I have a bias to ford but y’know 🤷‍♀️)
also, where do you screen cap your stuff? what website and/or app do you use that allows screen caps? do you use YouTube or something else? just wondering :)
There is an @everyford blog that exists, and in fact it is where I got the inspiration to do one for Stan from! Sadly, this blog never got through all of Ford's appearances last I checked.
I don't anticipate that I myself would do this for another character, since- if I'm honest- my GF hyperfixation days are long gone. Plus it's really time consuming, anyways. In honor of the 10th anniversary year I wanted to finish what I had started in 2018, though! I will finish this out through the end of S2, for sure- and I think I may even screenshot the Wax Museum episode of Amphibia for shits and giggles afterwards, since we have an excellent Frog Stan in that one.
All of these episodes are screencapped off my own ripped personal copies from the official release, plus a friend's copies for the shorts.
