You tried to be a good daughter.

You were the second eldest child of the great god Poseidon and his wife Amphirite. While Triton is the heir apparent, you fawned over him and your younger sister Benthesikyme when the rulers of all the oceans wasn’t around. You tried your best to be there for them, shouting with joy when they achieved something, big or small, comforting them when they needed a big hug or wanted to share a yummy meal in the empty dining hall because they were lonely.

But sometimes…it wasn’t enough. The love of an older sister, that is.

Triton wanted your father’s approval. Bethesikyme wanted your mother to look at her instead of waiting for your father to come to her chambers when she knew he hadn’t been there in years, centuries even. Neither of your parents were concerned about you…especially after your hair had changed from shimmering [Hair Color] locks to light pink with green ends as a result of eating too much sakura mochi.

No one wanted a wife with such a hideous blend of colors or had a large appetite, much less pass these traits down to their children, even from a daughter of Poseidon. At least that was what the last person had said to you during a marriage interview. Their remark…it hurt a lot. Proteus had to walk you out of the seashell garden after standing in a shocked state for almost four hours.

So you tried to change. Dyeing your hair black, cutting back on how much food you consumed, and working super hard in your lessons to become someone your father might be proud of…but it didn’t make you happy. Quite the opposite, actually.

Because no matter what you did, you would never become the perfect child in your father’s eyes. He told you as much with that cold stare of his. You were not perfect, nothing more than a speck of sand that was hardly worth noticing.

When that happened….well, as stupid as it sounds now….you left. You just left the palace without saying good-bye, leaving only a letter for your siblings, Proteus, the cooks, and all of your tutors, thanking them for looking after you and hoping that they’ll find happiness someday.

You found refuge in Valhalla, and for the first time in a long while, you could breathe. You could style your hair in any manner you desired, ate as much as you wanted, and even found a job working for the Demon Slayer Corps! It was a little weird at first, asking your uncle to help adjust into this place without saying a word to your father, but he was someone you could trust.

He knew that the reason you ate so much isn’t because you were a glutton, rather it was due to possessing an abnormal muscle condition that required a lot of calories and daily exercise to maintain. Six months later, you advanced from the Final Selection exam and were currently being mentored by the Flame Hashira Rengoku.

The humans who were part of Uncle Hades’ organization were so sweet and cool, how could you hate them? They accepted you for who you were and never made any harsh judgements towards you. Even their big boss, Lord Ubuyashiki, said that your talent was a gift! A gift, not a burden.

Goodness, it still brought a tear to your eyes when you remembered his words. But now isn't the time to be distracted! Today was your first solo mission, and you had to make Rengoku proud! Being a Demon Slayer means protecting people, and that’s what you’re gonna do!

Anyone who hurts others, even demons…they will receive no love from you. Not even a speck of mercy.

Unbeknownst to the Demon Slayer, however, it was getting difficult for Hades to keep lying to his little brother about the whereabouts of his niece. Whenever he was away to do some business that did not involve an illicit affair, he’d always bring a trinket back for her, but Amphirite snatched it up under the belief that the gift was her.

The sea goddess was still desperate for his attention, even when their love for each other had waned over the last couple of centuries.

Now that [First Name] was on the path of becoming a Hashira, the lord of the underworld had an obligation as both the divine overseer of the Demon Slayer Corps and as a brother, to tell Poseidon the truth. And yet…was it even the right thing to do, when all the reports he’s received from Ubuyashiki showed that leaving the ocean allowed his niece to be the happiest she’d been in a long, long time?

There was no doubt Poseidon would drag her back home to be punished, and that smile of hers would disappear as soon as she dove under the waves. The pressure to be perfect is a crushing one, even for the child of godly perfection.

Hades sighed softly, pressing his fingers against the side of his head as he felt a migraine creeping in. What should he do?

Today in the 13th door a little beauty that is often forgotten. Once built in India, she is now the oldest English frigate still afloat. We are talking about HMS Trincomalee

Laid down in Honourable East India Company's shipyard in Bombay in 1816, together with her sister ship HMS AMPHIRITE and launched on 12 October 1817, TRINCOMALEE was one of 47, 38-gun Leda class frigates built between 1800 and 1830. Nearly all of them were of oak, but the two Bombay ships were made of Malabar teak.

Her building had been delayed by the plans being lost on HMS JAVA which was sunk by USS CONSTITUTION, a second set of plans not arriving in India until two years later.

When TRINCOMLAEE reached Britain in 1819, she went straight into 'ordinary' for 26 years in Portsmouth harbour. In 1845 she was commissioned for service in areas which lacked adequate coaling stations for the new steam vessels. Her stern was modified to an elliptical style, and she was reclassified as a 26-gun Corvette. In 1847 she served in the West Indies and then in the Eastern Campaign of the Crimean War. After patrols in the Pacific she was again paid off into ordinary in 1857. Three years later she became a Drill Ship for Royal Naval Volunteers. Between 1860 and 1897 she was moored, mast-less and with deckhouses in Sunderland then West Hartlepool and finally in Southampton. She was sold to shipbreakers in 1897.

The philanthropist G Wheatly Cobb bought HMS TRINCOMLAEE to replace the training ship FOUDROYANT which had foundered two years earlier on its way to take up a similar role, and renamed the ship FOUDROYANT. She was moored in Falmouth and later at Milford Haven and finally at Portsmouth. On Cobb's death on 1932 she was managed by the IMPLACABLE Committee of the Society for Nautical Research.

During the war the vessel was taken over for the training of Sea Cadets. In 1947 she was given back to her owners and became an adventure training base for Sea Cadets, Sea rangers, Sea Scouts and other youth groups. From 1957 to 1987 she was moored at the entrance to Haslar Creek, Portsmouth. The Foudroyant Trust later moved her further north to avoid her being rammed by submarines. Training was discontinued due to the poor state of the ship and insufficient trainees. In 1987 the Foudroyant Trust transferred the ship to Hartlepool where a private yard had just paid off after restoring HMS WARRIOR 1860. In 1990 the Trincomalee was restored under the Trincomalee Trust. In 2016 the National Museum of the Royal Navy took responsibility for oversight of Trincomalee.

And the quest goes the same until percy gets to Olympus and Zeus asks if he’s Poseidon’s kid and he’s just like

“Kind of? I mean, I’m either his stepson or his kid so..”

So they bring Apollo to make a godly dna test and turns out he’s the child of both and Percy doesn’t give a shit he’s just trying to figure out how Apollo did that “weren’t the gods the ones with no dna?”

So now Apollo thinks he might be a godling when he’s older because instead of being 3/6 godly he’s 4/6 godly and if he lives long enough he might be a god

You know, I just thought of this Random Headcanon for SB's version of Greek/Roman Gods. What if Poseidon and Amphitrite did fell in love before she got into Neptune? Do you have any ideas on how Neptune stole the spotlight and won Amphitrite's heart? Or am I the only one who sees that their love triangle relationship would be pretty similar towards ScarXSarabiXMufasa or RonnoXFalineXBambi?

We know SpongeBob's Version of Poseidon, vain and flamboyant. And was lazy to his royal duties and cared about good looks. Amphirite was very disappointed in him, even though she did loved him very much and was his girlfriend. She didn't consider good looks when it came to love, just a understanding and responsibility. Even though Poseidon was a good boyfriend.

Neptune was The Chosen One to be the Main Ruler of the Seas while Poseidon had to be a Second Ruler considering since The Greek Mythology came before The Roman Mythology which made him jealous. Pretty ironic, Neptune was indeed jealous of Poseidon stealing his crush Amphirite. He knew responsibility and understanding mattered to her the most when it came to love. So while Poseidon and Amphirite were on a date together, Neptune had a great opportunity to become Amphirite's new boyfriend. So he came and told to her that he was responsible, mature and understanding merman. Amphirite was in love with him. And then came break up. Poor Poseidon was sad and heartbroken that his One True Love was gone. That's until he fall in love with Salacia.

No you're not the only one, it would be pretty similar to Ronno x Faline x Bambi and Scar x Sarabi x Mufasa.

its been a million years.  percy has gone from young millenial to squarely gen z.  i think that while he’s up on that mountain demanding the gods pay their fucking child support, he should tell hera at the top of his sixteen year old pipsqueak lungs that polyamory is a thing now and she doesn’t have to define her marriage the traditional way if she doesn’t want to.  she’s the goddess of all marriages!  that includes these modern ones too!!

hera is like zeus would you agree to an open relationship zeus is like SOLD i have been trying to do this for years, completely neglects to read the fine print that this goes two ways before signing on the dotted line for this deal with the prada wearing devil because fundamentally, zeus is an asshole

hera starts hooking up with committed married couples and having SUPREMELY powerful demigod children.  they are all her favorites and she lavishes them with powers and gifts and attention.  she has, unlike the other gods, no millenia of experience with mortal children to temper her reaction, and so this whole move honestly causes more problems than not.

meanwhile hades and persephone; poeseidon and amphirite; dionysus and ariadne; all of them have been trying to talk to hera about this thing for DECADES and then perseus fucking protagonist powers jackson comes in and turns a quarter of a century into wasted work.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but

there is one important detail about Greek mythos that Rachel seems to have glossed over... Again. There were GODS of fertility. Not just goddesses, gods, including Hades and Poseidon themselves! And guess what? Metis wasn't even a fertility goddess (from the research I did). Demeter was, Persephone was, even Hera is a fertility goddess, but not Metis. You know who else is a fertility god??

ZEUS. Zeus is a fertility god! Now some might say that in LO, if they are fertility gods, they got it from a fertility goddess loving them. Counter point, Amphirite wasn't a fertility goddess. The only thing I could find on her possibly being a fertility goddess, is if we consider her existence pre-greek mythos where she was probably a mother goddess. But in Greek myth itself?? No, can't find anything. And guess what? Some believe that Artemis was a fertility goddess! So where is her all powerful powers?? Why isn't she going Mary sue on Apollos ass? Granted, in others she isn't consider a fertility goddess, but still.

Some might argue it's to create more drama. Bro... there are so many other ways to make drama. Rachel could have focused on the relationship of Hades and Zeus, the affairs that Zeus has, hell, maybe Zeus learning about the affair Hera and Hades had!! Maybe focus on Zeus's own trauma about having to constantly run in fear. Focus on Artemis and her learning about Persephone, or Hestia and Athena! Maybe focus on Eros and Psyche more?? Or even Eris and Hera? There was so many things that could potentially create drama, and Rachel sees none of it.

This is why the fertility goddess plot is stupid. It's not as special as Rachel thinks it is, and it isn't strictly a goddess thing. It doesn't make someone all powerful either. And even the debate of it being used to create drama is stupid because there is so much more that could've been used to make drama. Either way, it's stupid and I don't understand why Rachel added it in. It would've been a neat twist of it was seen as a big deal, only for it not to be since quite a few of the gods and goddess are ones of fertility to (including Kronos and Apollo). It would've been a nice twist to see that being a fertility wasn't what gave Persephone amazing powers. It was her learning how to control the powers she already had, and knowing when to let it go wild, her planning all of these things and the fight with Kronos instead of diving in head first and winning instantly.
