Fantasy Friday! I haven't read a fantasy book since I finished the Red Queen series! I've been all about the romance 😬 I have some on my tbr (included in this photo) and want to get back into the fantasy world! 📖 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 📖 Dearly by @therealmargaretatwood Rating: 4/5 stars Goodreads: 3.76 ⭐ I really enjoyed this collection of Margaret Atwood's poetry. I have previously read her book The Handmaid's Tale but this was my first time reading her poetry and I really love her work and it really inspired me while I wrote my dissertation (a poetry collection). Each section had a different theme that Atwood focused on. Her feminist poems and environment poetry were my favourite pieces because they spoke to me the most and are so relevant. 🌼 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 🌼 I've had the last 6 days 😏 off work (go back tomorrow) so that I could focus on my dissertation! I can't believe I've handed the first 80% in 😳 my degree is almost over! (I'm so ready for it 🎉). It's basically a parody of The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse (which I also loved). Whereas that was full of inspiring and thought provoking writing, this book explores our reality. We can't be perfect all the time and sometimes we are like Panda and just don't give a shit 🤣 I really enjoyed watching the live with Paul Magrs because we got to see where the inspiration came from, what he wants readers to get from the book and even draw the characters live. And today is release day! I'd definitely recommend grabbing yourself a copy! 👨‍❤️‍👨 B O O K R E V I E W : 👨‍❤️‍👨 . Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall . Rating: 5/5 stars Goodreads: 4.21 ⭐ . When I saw that Joe Jameson narrated this book on Audible I knew that I would want to read (listen) it and then I saw a brilliant review on @laurasloaninglibrary page my decision was clear. I used my September credit thinking that I would be able to listen to it in the car on the way to University but then I finished it in 3 days and I still haven't gone back to Uni yet! . I can say hands down this is the funniest book I've read (listened to). I drove for an hour home yesterday and spent it laughing my head off looking like a crazy person to anyone that saw me. Luc (Lucien) was an amazing MC and I was rooting for him from the very beginning. Oliver was perfect for him even though they didn't seem very similar at all. This being my third audio book, I haven't actually listened to a sex scene before like I did with this book. I was blushing and laughing like a child. . This is the first LGBT+ rom-com I've read and I liked how it dealt with the less obvious forms of homophobia. For instance, Luc's work only accepting if he behaved like a certain type of gay person. Also, Oliver's parents making jokes about not having grandchildren. I also related a lot to Luc and the situation with his dad. There are very good topics touched on in this book. . I would say I could see a lot of myself in Luc. I'm the one who would scream and shout in an argument rather than being a mediator, like Oliver. I could see a lot of my own relationship in theirs which I thought was really nice. I really loved all of the secondary characters, especially Lucs co-workers, Alex and Reese (who made me laugh constantly). I also loved that it was set very close to where I've lived! B O O K R E V I E W : . Loveish by @mssakshinarula ❤ . Rating: 4/5 stars! . Firstly, I would like to thank @NetGalley and Sakshi Narula for a eARC for an honest review. . This was the second time that I had read Loveish as I had read it in September 2018 soon after it was released. It was one of the first poetry anthologies that I had read and I loved it so much. I love being able to see an indie author releasing such a high standard of work! . The whole anthology is centred around love. As a reader, we go on a journey with Sakshi as she travels through different relationships and a huge array of emotions that I believe are very relatable. I have always enjoyed the end of this anthology the most because the 'Loveish' chapter and poems are pieces that I relate to the most. My favourite piece has to be 'love, me'. I love the way it is written like a letter to an ex and describes what the 'ex' is missing. Definitely felt that before. I also really liked the small pieces of art that were on a few of the pages and really liked the art for the poem 'keys'. I also noticed some of the added poems that Sakshi had recently added to the anthology and thought they were a great addition to the anthology. . I did notice that throughout the anthology there is a problem with the use of tenses. Sometimes the wrong tense is used or the tense switches when there isn't supposed to be a switch. I also had a problem with no capital letters for the titles.
