 We don’t have any news on Season 5... But I have a few notes on the next season. Lol

After the ending of the finale episode... I immediately thought of several thing I want to see change in Season 5.

1. I like her... But Rocket doesn’t bring anything to the group & I want to replace her.

My choices. Princess Amethyst, Green Lantern’s Jessica Cruz, Raven & the one I’d REALLY like to see... Starfire!! 

2. B & C storylines. 

It’s clear The Brion storyline isn’t over. I can see what will happen next! His people betray him & the Outsiders will come in & save him. 

This whole season watching Beast Boy was just so... tiresome. I’m just not a fan! 

Also, I don’t need to see Violet’s journey into finding themselves.

3. Give Wonder Girl her flowers!

Both Nightwing & Superboy get full BIG storylines... But Wonder Girl? Leading a team, we never see! Cassie should be standing next to both of them. Now with Supergirl coming in... She’ll definitely be left for dead now. 

4. The Shazam Family.

The finale end credit scene we seen Mary Bromfield as one of Darkseid new Furies. I’m going to need to see the whole family show up! in fact I might need to see Mary beat them all up when they first meet up with her. Now this can be the B Storyline for Season 5.

5.  Darkseid’s new Furies

I still think Barda will turn on Darkseid eventually. 

Mary or Black Mary (As she’s known now!) I’m going to need her to be the most violent one of this group! Zatanna trained her... So, I’m also going to need a Black Mary vs Zatanna moment.

Kara Zor-El is most definitely will be the main character of this group! We also found out that Kara wasn’t in the phantom zone. I’m VERY excited to see Kara & what they do with her.

6. Superboy & Superman.

With Kara coming into season 5. Clearly Conner & Clark will be a main focus of the season. I’m going to need M’gann really involved in this storyline. I don’t want to see her pushed aside as just the wife of superboy. Also, the light has all of the Kryptonians. Superman will want to save them... But are they really worth saving? I bet in superman’s eyes yes! 

7. The Legion of Super-Heroes 

Ma'alefa'ak was sent to Durla... Home of Chameleon boy.

Ursa Zod or the new Emerald Empress is now at Daxam with her unborn son (Lor-Zod) determined to wreak vengeance for the House of Zod.

We haven’t seen the last of Three Legionnaires. Maybe Brainiac-5 will show up with them.

And here's the consolidated list (mostly?) All from Diamond in the Rough, character notes below cut (not in same order as pics)

Considered a few different systems for assigning gems (gemstone family, value, etc.) but ultimately just went with color/relative familiarity of gem. There’s so many cool gems out there~ (I was trying to not be too repetitive with types/use more common ones though Quartz has a million interesting varieties!)

Mega Man, Blue Sapphire Sphere I wavered a lot on his ‘trinket’, Sapphire seemed obvious (especially with Proto being a ruby, both are corundum gemstones) but also considered blue diamond, alexandrite (blue/purple color shift), and aquamarine. For the jewelry, was also considering an atomic model (for chemistry?), a screwdriver, and slightly regretting not considering circlet

Roll, Amethyst Earring: primarily always wanted amethyst, but also considered heliodor, padparadscha sapphire (but it wasn’t quite the right color? and perhaps too obscure), tanzanite, morganite, zoisite, kunsite, iolite, (purple gems etc.) For shape, was considering spikes/fangs though that’s also Treble and Punk’s lol

Bass, Emerald Snake Arm Cuff: loosely based on a real arm cuff I saw in a book. Also considered black diamond, green diamond (he’s the titular ‘diamond in the rough’), and black opal

Proto Man, Ruby Aviator Badge: I went with ruby in the end, which seemed most obvious choice, but also considered red diamond and bixbite (red beryl)

Elec Man, Black Opal Ring: Also considered chatoyant Sapphire, Alexandrite (??? color shift?), chrysoberyl, angelite/anhydrite, and even hawkeye quartz (loosely inspired by a real hawkeye ‘lightning’ ring, before that I was thinking cufflinks, but seemed weird for him to become either a pair of gems, or even a single cufflink lol)

Jewel Man, Colorless Beryl (Goshenite) Monocle - also considered rock crystal, diamond, and Padparadscha sapphire. Apparently both beryl and rock crystal were historically used for eyeglasses. Monocle is a reference to gentleman thief archtypes, also they are just fancy. (Also I realized while drawing this that having a plique a jour monocle chain is probably super impractical, oh well lol)

Top Man, Imperial Topaz  Pendant in a Jeweled Egg - also considered alexandrite and spinel (for the pun, heh) and spessertite

Kalinka/Mega Girl, Rose Quartz Blossom Barrette: Pink :) though I considered other lesser known (but more valuable) pink gems

Quint, Alexandrite Wristwatch: Quint is a time traveler (of sorts), also considered model armillary sphere/astrolabe, a screwdriver, and jade or malachite or nanocrystal

Wily, Agate Cameo Belt Buckle: Loosely inspired by his skull belt in some of his game art, also considered amythist

Dr. Light, Alabaster bead on a bookmark tassel:  Dr. Light likes books! Was also considering rock crystal and goshenite

Ring Man, Zircon Hoop Bracelet: Reference to both his namesake and his carney background. Was also considering class ring (before assigning the ring to Elec Man) and a circlet. ‘Zircon’ just sounds circusy, must be the Z

Magnet Man, Garnet Horseshoe Amulet: garnets are apparently magnetic, also considered fridge magnet

Cut Man, Citrine Paperknife: for obvious reasons. I also considered topaz for the gem

Guts Man, Tourmaline Paperweight: funny/fitting pairing with the paper knife, the shape is in reference to the boulder he holds in game art (for a brief week, was a rock crystal until I realized those are clear lol smokey quartz would have made more sense)

Punk, Spinel Motorcycle Chain: ‘Spinel’ may be a derivative from Latin ’spina’ which means thorn

Rush, Labradorite Bone Collar Tag: Went for the pun!

i like to hold around the black one with spots apparently its a type of obsidian!

i had an amythist at my moms house but i havent taken it with me when i moved out... i meant to take it later but me and my sister havent gone back to get more stuff

Guys, guys, guys! I just had a somewhat cursed thought. We all know fusion in Steven Universe, right?

And that when they fuse they usually have the gem on their body grow in proportion to the size of the fusion?

But they didn't do that for obsidian. Her gems remain as big as they normally are on Pearl, Amythist, and Garnet.

OK maybe not with pearl, but still, you get my point. So then I had a thought. Au where everything's the same, but the gemstones are a fixed size no matter the fusion. Imagine how cursed malachite would look.

Someone who's good at Photoshop, please. I need to see how cursed this can be.

Although I have multiple, my biggest problem with Minecraft is that I feel like it’s exploration isn’t rewarding to the player

First off, the biomes lack nuance, The majority of mobs, resources, and structures spawn in the majority of biomes, witch really limits player incentive to go and explore all of the ones available, most of them also use similar core block components, that being dirt, stone, gravel, sand, and some random wood type, and a lot of the ones that are exclusive to specific biomes don’t really make the biomes worth returning too (parrots, foxes, and pandas are literally basically vanity creatures, husk literally has the same lootpool as the zombie, etc), why would I want to go back to a savannah that’s a couple hundred blocks away from my base? I already got acacia wood during the first trip, to see the villagers that are wearing a different outfit? Get a llama? I can get a llama in other biomes, one of witch might be even closer to my base. Nowadays you don’t even need to go to all the biomes to get all the trees, just camp out at your house and wait for a wandering trader to offer you his wares

I feel like mojang has noticed this, honestly for years, hence why you can’t move mob spawners and later on those blocks that spawn amythist shards, but both of those have such a minimal impact (granted, you can take full advantage of a mob spawner if your lucky enough to base near one) that they can be ignored. As well as somewhat addressing this in recent biomes like the nether biomes or the deep dark, all 6 of witch would be in my top 10 favorite Minecraft biomes by default, but I feel like mojang has proven reluctant to do the major sweeping biome revamps I think the game needs, at least, in their current state

Maybe this lack of biome nuance is due to the fact that Minecraft is a procedurally generated “infinate” world, and as such there’s much less of a reliance on the player finding a given biome, in terraria, for instance, it’s not infinate, but the biomes have a given methodology of not only generating in general but also generating in relation for other biomes (dungeon, oasis desert, and snow will be on opposite sides of the world from underground desert and jungle (unless certain seeds demand otherwise) edges of both worlds will always be beaches, etc), but the thing is that’s hard to garuntee in Minecraft, maybe you could make a method where more biomes are more likely to spawn in other biomes but that might just make it harder to find a given biome you want. This is also probably why they were able to go all out for the nether biomes, only five of them basically garuntees the player will come across all 5 eventually.

Also of course all of this is failing to mention that even if you wanted to explore various structures the chest loot throught most of the game is just… bad, sure bastions sometimes give you netherite and ruined cities also come with their own unique drops, but outside of those they are basically glorified end city chests, if you don’t care about either of the exclusive loot then the rewards arnt too different from end cities, in fact it might be more rewarding to go after end cities because they are basically one of the only structures in the game that you need to get to in order to unlock specific resources, that being elytras and shulker shells, netherite isn’t even exclusive in bastions, and most of the ruined city chest loot is cosmetic, the only other chest loot in the game that kinda locks a functional resource behind the player is buried treasure chests, and that’s assuming the player gives a shit about conduits

I really hate to say this, but despite exploration having much less of an impact for terraria then Minecraft, I unironically think terraria handles it better, the player is not only almost guaranteed to explore each biome at least a little bit before the game ends, but they also have a ton of nuance, the vast majority of terraria mobs will only spawn in specific biomes under specific circumstances, and structures in the underground variants of all these biomes, despite being largely similar, oftentimes hold specific loot unique only to that biome, and although you don’t need to explore these biomes for their loot, as you can just fish for them, fishing is just tedious enough to make it more of a last resort, and basically every biome except for the ocean and meteors gets a major revamp sometime during hardmode, incentivizing the player to explore them all over again, and maybe even find something they haven’t found earlier, all of this is miles ahead of Minecraft by default, but the cherry on top is actually a recent addition, pylons, incentivizing the player to build more spread out, smaller bases in all of the major biomes, witch will further incentivize their exploration due to convinent access.

Although I might sound rather scathing throught this, I do come from a place of love for this game that’s become a big part of my life, I just want it to be as good as it can be, and right now I feel like it’s sleeping on so much potential, what are some ways that I think they could make biomes more diverse from one another? For starters, have more clear cut partitions between the mobs and the biomes, maybe not the basic critical ones, like the chicken, cow, sheep, pig, zombie, creeper, skeleton, spider, or endermen, but more niche ones, a great already existing example would be the slime, maybe change fishing loot between biomes as well, that already would be a great start, I’d also like to see some chest loot not only being better in general but also being varied between biomes, maybe a desert dungeon made out of smoothed sandstone instead of cobblestone would give different loot, and maybe even do something with that heat system, yeah, Minecraft kiinda has a heat system, although you never see it in game, it’s only use currently is to determine whenever or not the players snow golem will fucking implode in that given biome or not, maybe a heat system that will give the player progressive debuffs the longer they are in a given biome, and they could use an “insulated” variation of most armors, a diamond one would, say, give less armor then normal diamond armor, but would do more to protect the player against bad temperatures, be it in the heat of the desert sands or the snowy hellscapes of the tundra

ooooh this is a fun question, anon. In my SU dr my favorite gem to hang out with is probably Amythist or the other gem I added to my dr BP (Black Pearl) and my favorite human to hang out with is Lars or Sadie. Amythist Is pretty much like she is in the show aka the fun teenage sibling who teaches you to do bad shit but she is really caring and won't actually let you do things to get yourself hurt. BP is like Pearl in the sense that she is very much so overprotective but she also enjoys dancing a lot more (she taught me a little ballet but I wasn't too into it) she is more of the sit back and let people live their life unless theyre going to hurt themselves kinda person. Sadie and Lars are really cool we mostly hang out at the donught shop and the beach. Lars is secretly a huge nerd (me and him like to play dnd with a couple of friends although he will never admit to it) Sadie is honestly so nice and me and her love talking about music and musical theatre. House Celtigar of Old Valyria mantain a style that keeps the shapes of Valyria that can be seen in other places like Lys and Asshai. There was a need to blend the style upon getting to Westeros. Perhaps due to their unlike looks of Valyrian, lacking the silver hair and purple eyes, having their own amythist jade ones, Celtigars are perhaps more traditional in the way they dress, specially the women, keeping the shapes and fabrics of the Free Cities and Silks to make their dresses. Not too many layers. For the men, they keep the v shaped crossed over their chest and when they are at home more casual, both women and men dress similary, it's in court where the difference is made. In battle, Celtigar warriors wear dragonglass made bracelets if they lack their shields and the women often adorn themselves with jewlery of the same material. Women fashion is mostly centered around two pieces, modest but still, rare among Westeros, so they do have more classic style for court, except when they dance. They use white, black, red and blue. Red and White as their house colors and Black and Blue to honor Targaryens and Velaryons despite unions never coming to be. The brides on their wedding nights do skip the bedding ceremony, and instead, do a traditional wedding dance exclusively for their husband. It brings good luck and fertility. Celtigar men's tradition for their wedding night involve carrying their brides to the bedroom and let their first time together be upon the balcony that gives to the sea. This is said to bless the union by whatever Gods are watching. Once the deed is done, the man will wash his bride's thighs, if required, while the wife will prepare a bath for his husband. The wedding must be done in Valyrian tradition or all of this would be null and void for them.
