Premise: Ethan gets sent to AIIMS (med school in Delhi, India) for a conference.
"No getting out of it, child." Naveen Banerji's voice was full of laughter, though his face gave nothing away.
"Naveen, you really expect me to spend three whole days with those med students at AIIMS? Especially after what happened at Stanford University?"
"Ah, Ethan, imagine how much they could learn from you. You're among the best diagnosticians across the globe."
Ethan cursed under his breath.
Naveen had suddenly gotten this 'absurd' idea of sending Ethan, who was in his first year of residency, to the medical conference in AIIMS. Poor Ethan didn't want to spend the whole time with students, not after his last conference. He had been hit on, flirted with, and asked questions capable of heating his cheeks. Not one single scientific question. Not one.
After that, Ethan had sincerely doubted what the students actually learnt at med schools.
But Naveen was equally persistent.
Ethan would have to go.

Ethan sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Fine" he conceded, glaring at his mentor resignedly.
All he got was a cheerful smile and a wave.

Leaving Naveen's house, he drove back home, deciding to start packing if he was to leave the next day.

Ethan stepped out into Indira Gandhi International Airport, staring around for a minute before calling for a cab and getting his luggage in.
India was definitely eye-catching. And rather cold. He hadn't expected Delhi to have a 7°C temperature in the late morning, given the amount of pollution.
As he looked out the window, mind absently thinking of the conference, he spotted the medical school.
Damn. That building was majestic.
Paying the driver, he stepped out, only to be greeted with camera flashes and loud claps.
Swallowing back a groan, he gave the people a painful smile, before the college Dean, Ms. Ruchira Dutta, stepped up to shake hands with him. "Ah, Dr. Ramsey. Thank you for coming here, it's a pleasure to have you."
Relieved, he nodded as he shook hands. "Pleasure's all mine, Madam."
As he was shown inside, he couldn't help smiling, as he looked around at the lecture halls and laboratories. It was almost like being back at JHU.
He was so engrossed, he didn't notice a tall student walking in his direction, her nose buried in a book.
As they bumped into each other, the student lost balance, almost toppling over the edge of the balcony.
Ethan reached out instinctively, pulling her to safety.
"Woah there, I'm so sorry, I didn't- Dr. Ethan Ramsey?!"
Ethan blinked in surprise. "How'd you know me?"
"Dr. Ramsey, I read your research papers on the Lesch-Nyhan syndrome, and I was really inspired. It's really an honour to meet you."
Ethan gave her a brief nod. "Thank you."
He stared at her for a long moment.
The girl had startling green eyes, long hair styled into a French braid. She had a British accent, and for some reason, it reminded Ethan of his parents. She was reading, Ethan realized, one of his research papers.
"What are some key symptoms of the LNS?" He shot at her.
"The symptoms of Lesch-Nyhan syndrome include impaired kidney function, acute gouty arthritis, and self-mutilating behaviors such as lip and finger biting and head banging." She shot back with equal speed, pleasantly surprising Ethan.
"What deficiency do you think causes the Lesch-Nyhan syndrome?"
"Deficiency of the enzyme hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase, in short, HPRT."
This time, Ethan was seriously impressed. He had yet to meet a student who could so perfectly rattle off the complex enzyme with total accuracy.
The Dean smiled, seeing the impressed glint in Ethan's eyes.
"Dr. Ramsey, meet Ms. Catherine Valentine, top student of AIIMS. She is in her final year of medical college. Your research has been an incredible inspiration to her. She reads your work every spare minute she gets."
"I'm impressed, Dr. Valentine. Keep up this performance." His smile came so genuinely, Ethan was almost surprised.
Catherine grinned. "Thanks, Doctor."

It was 2:39 a.m when a sudden sharp knock on his door woke him up. Rubbing his tired eyes, he sat up, wondering just who the hell was knocking at this ungodly hour.
He threw on a dressing gown and opened the door, only to come face to face with...what was her name again? Ah yes, Catherine Valentine. She was staring at him, rather eerily, with a glassy look in her eyes.
Suddenly, it hit him. She was sleepwalking.
Concerned, he tried to lead her back to her dormitory, but failed to find the room.
Sighing, he steered her back to his room, helping her get into bed, as he decided to sleep on the couch.
The rest of the night was peaceful.
It was 4 am when Ethan's eyes shot open. Getting up and dressing, he looked over to his bed.
Catherine was sleeping, the covers almost hiding her whole body. Only a few messy brunette locks were visible. Deciding she was asleep, he decided to brew some coffee. As he touched the cup to his lips, a yelp from the bed startled him.
Turning around, he saw a horrified Catherine staring at him as though she had seen a ghost.
"Morning, Dr. Valentine." He couldn't help the smirk which graced his lips.
"M-morning, Doctor." Catherine looked visibly embarrassed. "How did I end up here?"
"You were sleepwalking. I couldn't find your dormitory, and sleepwalking around college in the dead of the night isn't advisable or safe, so I had no other choice but to let you spend the night in this room."
"I'm so sorry I was a burden", Catherine looked away, but not before Ethan caught guilt written all over her face.
"You weren't. It's okay. Does this sleepwalking happen often?"
Catherine flushed a bright pink. "Well...my roommates have caught me doing that before....like...a lot of times..."
Ethan frowned. "That isn't normal. That is a visible sign of stress."
"Well yeah I'm in med school, it's not exactly a paradise club here."
A chuckle escaped Ethan. "Get back to your dormitory, Catherine. I'll see you at the conference. Good day."
Nodding, she wished him a good day and practically ran out of his room.
Oh, she's definitely not like other med students.

woman who inspired God to create
In Turkic mythology, a divine being that gives the God power and inspiration to create is mentioned. It's portrayed as a woman, the Head Goddess, who's behind of all the creation of the world and the humanity.
AĞ ANA: The great being whose name is most commonly found in the legend of creation, an angel and a protective spirit.
It's believed that even before earth and sky had been created, Ağ Ana had existed and wandered at the imaginary sky. She gave soul to everything that is beginning of the life, and carried the weight of circle of life on her shoulders. She, at the beginning of life, had gathered all the power in herself. According to Altai Turks belief, she's a woman that's been formed of light. (Her existence is from light.) And she gave God Ülgen the power and inspiration to create.
She's been called both Ağ Ana and Ulu Ağ Ana. "Ulu" has "great" or "sacred" meanings. It's been presumed that "Ağ" has a meaning same as "Ak" which means "white" (but mostly used as the meaning of purity). "Ana" means "mother" and it's commonly used in goddesses' names. The part above adds that she has a holy face and a holy soul.
In Yakuts, giving name to the child is one of Ulu Ana's duties. According to Turkic creation mythology,
... with the order of Ağ Ana, God Ülgen said "may be earth be created!" and earth had been created. Then he said "may sky be created!" and sky had been created.
She has the Mountain Spirit, and thus she's also a figure that's believed to protect mountains and homeland (yurt).
In Teleuts, this holy mother's name is "Ak Ene" (Ağ Ana). She's also called "Ene-yayaçı", which means "mother who creates".

CHICANO ART MOVEMENT attends: “The Yellow Pad Series” 2023
Jose Lozano - “The Yellow Pad Series”
January 19 - March 4, 2023
At Crear Studios
CAM:
On the final day of exhibition 03/04/23, we arrived at Crear Studio for an early viewing of Jose Lozano “The Yellow Pad Series.”
(Detailed view of “The Yellow Pad Series” at Crear Studio)
We learned through the gallery showcard that this “is a collection of consciousness narratives on faux yellow pad ground, which includes line art and mixed-mediums with graphite, ballpoint pen, and colored pencil on gessoed paper and wood panels.”
(Jose Lozano - “Tamale Lady Wallpaper Swatch” Acrylic Paint on Canvas)
A favorite paper of mine was taking a closer look at the pieces to read the salacious details incorporated within the artwork itself.
(”The Yellow Pad Series” exhibition by artist Jose Lozano at Crear Studio 2023)
Even before viewing any of the artwork from the exhibition I was intrigued by the title alone “The Yellow Pad Series.”
(Jose Lozano - “Ya Déjala/Leave here” Wood Panel)
I was curious to view Jose Lozano’s approach on paper mainly used for taking notes in the legal system
