Spones for the ask game!
YES 100%
What made you ship it? Honestly???? It took me a while for me to consider Spones as a potential ship. I entered this fandom as a major Spirk shipper, and I never really bothered to look beyond it. And while I didn't hate McCoy, he certainly wasn't my favorite character so I kinda,,, ignored him at first lmaooooo It took a combination of the mcspirk discord and actually going back and rewatching beyond and the original series for me to start to reconsider it.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
But overall, they have such an interesting dynamic. They're both constantly at each other's throats, and challenging the other, but may the good Lord help you if you insult/hurt one of them. McCoy calls Spock out on his bullshit all the time and isn't intimidated by his 'stone cold' Vulcan persona at all. And Spock really does trust McCoy with his life (and *cough* soul *cough*), and it's obvious to see just how much they respect each other.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Sometimes, McCoy's comments about Spock can be a bit,,, grating. While Spock 100% dishes out the same level of snark and attitude towards McCoy as McCoy does to him, sometimes I feel like TOS McCoy's comments about Spock appearance or physiology can be a bit Much. it def kept me from liking the idea of them as a ship when I first started watching it.
- I also think McCoy would be okay with a mind meld/bond with Spock. McCoy is a doctor and as much as he complains about Vulcans, he knows more than enough about them to know what it is and isn't safe. And considering it's SPOCK, I think he'd be okay with an accidental bond between them lmao
Spock, shaking and crying at the idea of telling McCoy about their bond:
McCoy, just trying to finish his damn paperwork but can't because Spock is busy freaking out through their bond: goddammit.
Send me a ship and I'll answer three questions based on if I ship it or not.
