Vet med vs Hooman med!

To preface: I’m from a family of medical professionals from all angles of human med: nurses, respiratory care, PA, MAs, psych, DO, lab tech, rad tech, and an aspiring physical therapist. But I’m the only veterinary person. I mostly know about human med in the context of comparative medicine, pharmaceutical research, and anecdotes.

So the other day I found a tik tok showing what I’m guessing are med students or scrub techs demonstrating how different surgeons put on their sterile gloves. However, what really threw me was that there was an assistant holding the gloves out for them to put their hands in! And I’m over here like “wait what? You don’t have to close glove as a hooman surgeon?”

So I sent it to my sister, who is a surgical PA, asking about this. And she’s like, “oh yeah, I would glove myself when at my last job, but heaven forbid a doctor had to put on their own gloves.”

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

One of my pet peeves after having gotten very into swing dance as an aroace is seeing videos of people swing dancing or really doing any type of partner dance and over half the comments just being stuff like “how are they not in love😳” or “friends🤨” like please free yourselves, you can have a lot of chemistry and fun dancing with someone and it doesn’t have to be anything more than that!!
