#and Not!Sasha did not inherit them
Note
How about a 21. this is a very long hug now sort of hug
"You look like shit," Gerry noted cheekily as Jon entered his office. His inherited assistant was lounging in his chair, feet up on the desk and arms crossed behind his head. He looked so completely at ease and comfortable in his presence, no trace of anger or distrust, that Jon almost didn't snap at him for being in his space.
"Feet off the desk," he ordered without much bite as he hung up his bag and coat. Gerry rolled his eyes but removed his feet anyway. "Why are you here so early?"
"Making sure you don't sneak off to the tunnels without me again." Jon tensed, but there was no accusation in Gerry's voice. "I told you, if someone's gonna be eaten by whatever's lurking down there, it's gonna be me."
"No one else is being eaten," Jon rebutted, stomach roiling and remorseful shame nearly pulling him down to the floor. He was already having a bad enough day, after being woken by nightmares and a splitting headache. His worm scars itched like mad, and he knew he couldn't scratch them, or the guilt would dig in deeper. He'd made it to the Archives, only to be met with stony silences from his other assistants. Which was hardly unusual, these days.
Sasha almost completely ignored him, focused on her research to find a way to break free of the Archives without killing him. Jon did appreciate that she was still trying to find an alternative solution to that. Tim's silences were laced with fury, obviously blaming him for all that had befallen them, and poor Martin. And Jon couldn't blame him for that. It was his fault, all of it, because he'd been too full of himself, too blind to reality until it was too late.
His recent paranoia regarding Gertrude's death certainly hadn't helped matters at all either.
He knew he deserved all of their rage and hatred towards him, but it was bothering him, even more than it usually did, the painful ache in his chest tight and unignorable. The atmosphere in the Archives had never been the greatest, thanks to all the stress and fear and, yes, his attitude hadn't helped much. But they had been his friends, once. Jon had been able to relax and chat with them on occasion, enjoy himself in their presence. There was none of that now, when he really could use it, but in no way did he deserve a kind word from them now. He didn't deserve any of their kindness or sympathy.
The only one he had now was Gerry, who was looking at him with an odd concern.
"You okay?" he asked. "I was- I was trying to make a joke, but...yeah, that was bad phrasing, sorry. I just meant I can take a hit better than you can. I have more experience with these things." He laughed awkwardly, shifting in the seat, and Jon wished he could tell him. That he didn't want anyone else be be hurt because of him, and especially not the person he was closest to. Gerry was the only one he could really trust, he told them all that he could, and he somehow didn't hate or blame Jon when he still didn't listen to him. That meant more than he could possibly say. So he didn't even try.
"I..." Jon trailed off, feeling the words drain right out of him. He couldn't even think of anything to say, whatever words he had that would explain, or make things right. Gerry tilted his head at him, then got up from Jon's chair, crossing the room to invade his space, stepping in very close to him.
"Here," he offered, opening his arms. Jon tensed up automatically, but they were gentle as they wrapped around him, a bit uncertain but so strong as his arms cinched tight and pulled him in. All of the tension flooded out of him as Jon went limp, slumping into Gerry's strong chest with a long sigh. Gerry smelled like the cigarettes they had shared, the long nights filled with explanations and stories. Safety and security.
"I- okay," Gerry conceded when he tried to loosen his hold, but Jon didn't budge. His own arms locked around Gerry's middle, holding him tight, so tight that he didn't feel like he was drowning anymore. Gerry put his arms back around him, patting his back and rubbing up and down his spine. "Okay, guess we're doing this now."
Jon hummed agreement, glad Gerry had gotten the point. He had no interest in letting go and facing reality again. It felt so good, even if Gerry seemed rather unsure of what to do with his hands. He probably hadn't had many occasions to hug other people before, Jon realized sadly. He recognized those awkward fumbles, so similar to how he felt sometimes. But his hands finally settled, and Gerry pressed into him as well, and they both relaxed into the embrace, taking a long moment to simply be together. Jon felt like he could stay there forever.
"Gerard, you in here?" Jon tried to bolt out of Gerry's arms, but they were still tight around him even as Gerry turned to face Tim in the doorway. He shoved his face into Gerry's chest, not wanting to look at Tim's face. He could imagine his expression perfectly well.
"Need something, Stoker?" Gerry asked, so casually, as if he wasn't currently giving his boss a bear hug.
"I...Jesus fucking Christ," Tim swore, sounding so defeated. "I'm not even...no." He didn't elaborate, and Jon heard his footsteps fade away as he left. Gerry groaned.
"I can't wait to hear it from him later," he grumbled. Jon wondered what he could mean, but Gerry finally let him go and stepped away, and he had to concede that the embrace was over. Gerry looked even more awkward, pulling into himself and looking away. "Was that...alright?" he asked softly. "You just...you looked like you needed a hug."
"Yes," Jon agreed, just as softly. "I...appreciated that. A lot."
"Good," Gerry whispered, his cheeks turning the slightest bit pink. "Good. I, um," he cleared his throat. "I'll go see what Tim wants."
Jon nodded, watching Gerry as he weaved around him and out of his office, closing the door behind him. He felt warm, and unbelievably comforted. He could almost believe that Gerry's hug alone could have given him the strength to make it through the day.

TMA Encore #15
Tumblr media
Everything feels smaller and emptier now. Further away than ever.
Jon spends a long time looking for Martin, calling his name. He hasn’t heard anything back. He feels like he’s being wrung out like a rag as the Entities revoke their favor in him. His head hurts terribly.
There’s a grinding sound rising behind him. As he zig zags around in search and the sound steadily grows, he starts getting scared that he’ll never find Martin. That something happened to him.
Jon finally feels his hand brush something warm. Martin’s hand. He turns around and clasps it as it clasps at his. They can hear each other. See each other. They’re relieved to see the other alright.
They decide to go look for the others. On the way, Jon retells his revelation to Martin, who listens intently.
They get interrupted by the grinding sound catching up, and the terrain pounces on them to drive them further away from Not-Jon. As they run, they encounter many branching paths. Rather than agonizing over which are right and which could lead them to worse traps, Martin suggests that they not overthink it and just pick the ones that appear to be the best choice based on the information they have in hand. Jon’s stomach turns, but he agrees. He refuses to grant the enigma his doubt and indecision. He squeezes Martin’s hand and lets him pick the lane.
Their method proves true. They quickly escape the upheaving terrain and–amazingly–find Tim and Sasha.
~
The two are aghast to see Jon and Martin in one piece each. The boys don’t have much of a plan for the moment, but they want the two of them to come along before the landscape catches up. Tim and Sasha hesitate.
Martin: What’s the matter?
Tim and Sasha have the grace not to let Jon know that they heard his tape, but they ask if he detonated the TNT after he split off in the tunnels.
Only then does Jon’s stifled memory resurface. He saw the blast from halfway down the tower shaft. The explosion had reached him before the emerging hellscape did. He remembers the scorching and crushing pressure. They all remember.
None of them could have survived. They’ve been fabrications within the Entities’ sphere of influence the entire time. It could explain why Jon and Martin’s avatar status progressed so quickly and why it has gone back out with the tide. Their minds have been kneaded so that they couldn’t realize it on their own, even as they clambered over the wreckage that killed them.
It’s a deflating revelation. If any of them manage to escape, there’s no telling how much of what they do will directly serve the Fears. Even without Jonah, the Institute, or the Mother of Puppets in play, their fates are still not their own. At the same time, how can they throw away the hard-won revelation that they do–no matter how small–have agency here? At least enough to walk away, to refuse to act. It could make all the difference, and it’s certainly more than Not-Jon has shown himself to have.
They talk it out.
There are two options. They could stay here as the creature digs his way out in hopes of not spreading the Extinction themselves. There’s a chance he’ll die here, leaving the rest of them to handle the hunger until they too pass away. If Not-Jon escapes or Not-Martin succeeds him, they’d be difficult to stop. Or, the group could try to monitor their manipulation and escape, themselves. If they’re fast, they might be able to trap the doubles before they get out–assuming that they won’t invent a reason not to.
The safest thing to do from there would be to avoid involvement with any other rituals or disturbing activity, no matter the circumstance. It would be too much of a risk to participate, even with good intentions. As much as they’d all love to put this behind them, the probability of actually doing it with how much they know seems… unlikely. There’s a good chance they’ll inherit the full brunt of the hunger.
On the other hand, how can they justify not acting on their knowledge of the Entities in some way? They could, as Not-Jon had said, save lives.
It could all be part of the Fears’ plan to have them escape, Tim argues. But then, what about the plan to have Jon take over? It’s possible for them to have two plans, Sasha simply replies.
Jon explains that the Fears have no plan. He saw it himself–they’re creatures with as abstract a concept of their prey as their prey has of them. Avatars make plans on behalf of the Fears’ desires. Even if their motivations are somewhat influenced, they aren’t being “puppeted”. Martin agrees. If the Fears had that kind of control, they would have won already. As long as the four of them try to stay actively aware of their impulses and shortcomings, they might be alright.
Sasha asserts that it won’t be that simple. They just destroyed a massive site of power and became part of an irritant to residing avatars. Trouble’s going to seek them out.
Sasha: For all we know, they’re already on top of us out there.
Martin: Or it’s been no time at all. There’s no way to know how much time has passed in the real world.
Tim: I guess we could just bolt and hope they never find us. The avatars wouldn’t necessarily know what we are just because they get headrush when we happen to pass by.
The other three perk up in surprise at Tim’s comment.
Tim: That doesn’t mean I agree. I still don’t think we'd be able to keep it together out there.
They continue to debate the same points for some time with no consensus. There will be massive risks no matter what they do. The near certainty of failure burns in the back of Jon’s mind. The possibilities nag and bite.
His attention drifts, tracing a path back the way they came.
He knows he could still corner the creature if he tried.
Martin: Jon. Jon.
Jon stops staring off.
Jon: Right, sorry. What were you saying?
Sasha: We can’t agree on going. But we’re willing to… try it. We try to find a way out without letting the place get to us.
Martin: Which might work better this time if we know what we’re doing.
Tim: And if we can’t do it, we stay.
Jon rubs his neck.
Martin: You don’t think we should do it.
Jon: No. But that probably means we should go for it.
Utilizing a mix of Sasha and Tim’s methods and Jon and Martin’s methods of counteracting the hellscape, they begin trying to find their way out. If they’re lucky, they might find the hole in the wall from before–or some other loose trapping that could be pried apart as the hellscape twists itself tighter and tighter around them. The wet parts are starting to dry, making them brittle.
They can’t find a stable path, of course. The journey quickly becomes intimidating, and the environment punishes that to the fullest extent of its ability. It’s grueling and frustrating and never seems to get them any closer to their goal. Jon constantly has to fight the impulse to abandon the others, especially as the Fears descend upon him to remind him of what they want. But he stays. He fights not to pry, but the same thing is happening to the other three inside their heads. And they stay. They face their obstacles and the danger they pose head-on, with the unfounded certainty that they can handle it. It becomes a kind of shared psychosis. Their blind faith allows them to put more trust in each other, which bolsters their fluidity as a team. That trust only deepens with time. Their mission demands it, as their exit eludes them for days, weeks, an eternity. They never escape, but they survive.
~
Not-Martin watches from afar with the burgeoning sight of the Eye. Long invasive fingers pull at his consciousness, seeking refuge from the rapidly decaying vessel they chose, used, and have wasted. Not-Martin knows that it’s happening at some level, but he can’t really feel it.
He had tried hard to stay in his cell. But there he was, outside of it, once again steeling his nerves to kill his partner a second time and looking for something sharp. That is, until the group caught his attention.
Hearing their discussion felt like white noise at first. It took a while for the meaning to sink in. He watched as they shakily put their theory into action. Without the paralyzing logic of the enigma in play, they seem more... themselves. Not that he really remembers what that means.
Not-Martin fully expects them to fail. To give in, to be crushed or show signs of insidious sway.
The group continues to evade the hideous alien presence that now saturates the very fiber of their being. Of his being. He keeps watching, a motionless phantom waiting for its grim reality to reach the foolish occupants of the haunted wreckage.
It always happens. Why would this time be any different?
As time passes, the definitive proof of this radical solution that he knows won’t arrive doesn’t arrive. The group falters. They fall apart.
Not-Martin lets out a deep sigh. He hadn’t noticed himself tense up.
He catches himself hesitating  to move on as the victims of the enigma languish in tatters.
Knock it off, he thinks. He shouldn’t be drinking this in. He has work to do.
But before he can tear himself away, the members of the team change their scattered course. Slowly, difficultly, they come back together and start again. Their observer counts their inches of progress as they face their first obstacle. They fail to be defeated, moving on to the next. Their quest is the same as before, with its tiny little victories. Only now, Not-Martin isn’t watching for failure.
A nagging feeling prompts him to wonder why.
His punishing journey has taught him that the only way to progress against the Fears is not to care what happens next. These four people fighting tooth and nail to see an uncertain future reawakens a piece of him he’d been trying to kill for ages–something he had set out with into the unknown, but had had to leave behind in order to continue.
That piece remembers how repulsive the Lonely feels. It’s the part of him that felt something at seeing the passions of others reflected in himself, despite his isolation. The desire to realize his own passions despite the dread that always held him back.
Life. His life.
He’s been dead for so long, the remains of a failure long ago. But now, he feels acutely aware that he’s still here. Still acting. Just as they are.
How much of that time has he spent trying to destroy himself? Watching his partner destroy himself? For what? They still became part of the trap. Betrayed the promise they had made to defy evil that had threatened to swallow them. The future he had hoped for that had carried him out of the Lonely’s shore and through the apocalypse.
One way or another. Together.
But it isn’t over yet. They’re still here. They still have that promise to keep. They could still have that future, however brief. They could be themselves again.
And the thought of that, looking at where he is, nearly scares him to death.
Not-Martin feels something burn inside a frozen hollow place that grew over the years of detachment. It’s barely there, but a drop of warmth feels like a fire when you’ve become accustomed to the deepest cold.
It’s so hot, he falls to his knees with tears in his eyes.
He clutches his chest, desperately trying to hold on to the precious feeling as instinct tries to force it back.
He feels paper-thin, like he could expire in the breeze.
Nevertheless, he gets to his feet and sets off toward the root of the island, high above him.
Tumblr media
The creature slithering and scraping in the darkness below him answers without pausing.
NJ: Go back, Martin. It’s almost over.
Not-Martin–or just Martin, here–can’t find it in him to argue, looking at the circumstances. He’s too winded from the climb anyway. He settles back against an outcropping of busted wood.
Jon notices the lack of response, but only turns his head for a moment as he tears at the last of the rubble with unraveling hands.
The shade on the ridge sits silently. There are arguments he knows he needs to make and vanishingly little time to make them, but he suddenly can’t find the will. It’s all he can do to hold on to his warmth as it drains the cold determination that was preserving his inertia.
Below, the shrapnel flays away more of what’s left of his partner with each stroke. It kills him to watch. He looks away, but it kills him all the same.
To his surprise, Jon slows to a stop and speaks first.
NJ: Have you seen what the others are up to?
Martin picks himself up a bit to answer.
NM: Yeah. I was surprised, but it seems to be working so far.
NJ: They’re persistent, I’ll give them that.
He sighs tiredly.
NJ: Still can’t risk letting them out, though.
NM: They kind of make me miss the old days. Never thought I’d say that.
Jon makes a haggard noise that he thinks might have been a chuckle. A long silence follows.
NJ: I miss the way we used to be, too. I’d nearly forgotten.
His voice is quiet and fragile with regret. Martin can barely hear it.
NM: It’s working, Jon…
NJ: For how long?
Nothing.
Martin’s guard drops, and his partner can feel what’s going on inside him.
Jon turns himself around in the pit with concern. His many green eyes wink up from the darkness.
NJ: Martin, what did you do?
His voice is alarmed, and it wakes Martin up.
NM: I’m letting it go. The whole plan. I don’t… I don’t want this anymore. I want us to make it through this. It doesn’t have to be the end yet.
NJ: It’s too late for that. You’re going to get killed if you turn back now.
NM: No. I’ll be fine. They’re right, Jon. Neither of us are going to pull off what we’re trying to do. The Fears only have more of us the more we think we’re pulling away.
NJ: It’ll be even worse if we give up. We can’t just unleash this thing.
NM: We don’t have to give up, either. I was wrong. This is how the Entities win, Jon. It’s how they always win. It’s our fear. We play their games and fall right into their hands because we’re scared of what’s going to happen. So this time, why don’t we just go on and find out? Maybe we can try to get back a little of what we’ve lost while we’re at it.
The man within the creature can feel the meaning of the words. Emptiness reawakens with longing for all the things that both of them were so committed to think weren’t possible for them.
NJ: How can you believe that?
NM: I don’t. But we don’t have to. We’ll just do it anyway.
NJ: Martin, stop.
He feels weaker by the second.
NM: We promised. This is our last chance.
His partner extends a hand toward the pit.
NM: I can’t come down and get you this time. You have to come up.
Jon hesitates.
Tumblr media
They’re right there. Just behind the door.
They knock again.
The rapping of Their fingers shakes the tenuous shape of the wreckage loose. Martin falls, followed by a crunch.
Tumblr media
NM: I’m–I’m stuck.
Jon knows. Pain. Blood. The cuts are deep. His partner is going to die.
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
The creature is paralyzed, the consequences of loss and failure shrieking at each other at the forefront of his mind.
It’s happening again. He has to choose. If he shares the burden with Martin, it would relieve the vulnerability. Martin will live, sustained only by the maddening burden of Jon’s mistakes–and so will the Fears. If he leaves, Martin will die. No matter which he chooses, he’s still being drawn forward by fear.
Jon has never been more sick of it.
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
The sound of screeching, straining metal echoes up from the pit.
Martin: Jon?
Jon’s knifelike fingers claw at the rubble, showering him with brick and glass. The components that lead into his back–buried deep in the remains of the Institute, connected to beings beyond reason–drag behind him like an anvil. Partway up the climb, still far from his partner, he runs out of leash. He pulls with the final ounce of strength that never seems to leave him to hoist the entire mess upward, but he only ends up breaking some of what’s holding him together. It falls and clatters in the darkness.
This will destroy him. He knows it.
Martin: Jon, can you hear me?
Jon: I hear you. I’m coming. Just keep talking to me.
The certainty of defeat has sobered his panic.
Martin: You remember the cabin?
Jon: Before or after I read the mail?
Martin: ^smiles^ Before.
The wreck comes loose, and Jon slides down.
Jon: I remember getting stranded on the road the night we got there. We had to walk to the nearest town. It was terrible.
He starts up again and loses more parts.
Martin: Yeah. It wasn’t so bad, though, looking back.
Jon: Well, not compared to the walking we did after the cabin.
Martin: That doesn’t seem as bad either, now. There… there’s a lot I don’t regret about the times we’ve had to go back. Or the time we spent driving each other up the wall at the Institute. I think I could do it all again if you were there with me.
Jon: ...I would too.
Martin doesn’t seem to hear him.
Despite it all, Jon aches to walk straight into the eye of the abyss with Martin’s hand in his again. Even though they’ll fall apart. He wants it more than anything.
He just has to make it a little further.
Something yanks him downward. He clings as tightly as he can and cranes his head back to see the speck where Martin is. With that movement, he snaps a crucial thread holding him together. Layers of his horrible body separate with each movement. He burns, the foul soil in his chest smoldering to dust. He doesn’t care.
He keeps moving. Just a little further.
His hands fall away on contact, leaving weak spindly limbs of armature to climb with. His body is a tangle of loose snares that rapidly shakes apart. Cords and ventricles tangle and burst. The tether that leads back down into the dark remains intact as the creature is left with less and less of himself for ignoring his keepers. The pain reaches new unbearable heights. Pieces continue to fall as he slowly climbs.
Martin hears the clatter come closer, even as it grows thinner. Gasps and shudders echo up the walls of the heap. He stretches his best arm downward as Jon reaches up.

I was watching videos on Psychonauts 2, specifically on the imagery and meaning behind Hollis’ mind, when I had an interesting realization: a lot of the characters in both Psychonauts games have family-related problems.
Oleander’s initial levels (the brain tumbler experiment and basic braining) don’t have much beyond initial foreshadowing for plot reasons, but meat circus is such a colossal mess of daddy issues that i think it makes up for it
Sasha’s main problems are the death of his mother and the memories of her he collected from his dad’s mind that freaked him out (nooo little german boy don’t use your psychic abilities to read your father’s mind)
Milla’s trauma has to do with her relationship to the children at her orphanage and her failure to protect them, something that while she has moved past, definitely still hurts her. She’s still working as a caretaker of some kind though, and it’s clear that she’s not eager to repeat that mistake.
Gloria was pretty seriously messed up by her mother’s emotional neglect and high expectations, her treatment at the boarding school, and her deadbeat dad. This trauma is only compounded with her mother’s suicide, which starts her downward spiral.
Fred’s problems have to do with his family legacy, literally being constantly berated in his mind by the image of his ancestor. To Fred, he’s failed at being a Bonaparte, and his ancestor has come back from the dead to express his displeasure.
Lili and Raz both have fairly complicated relationships with their fathers - Raz views Augustus as constantly pushing him in acrobatics and outright denying him his interests, while Lili has had to grow up a little too fast thanks to how busy her father is, and expresses some of that frustration with a tough front.
Loboto. (i don’t think i really need to say more. yikes doesn’t even begin to cover it)
Although Hollis’ family is notably absent from her mind, some dialogue from her and her mind’s NPCs implies a very fraught relationship with her parents. She acknowledges to Raz that “family is horrible”, and the maternity ward patients in her mind all express very bad reasons to have kids, ranging from using children as a proxy to having kids because your partner wants them. Couple that with the absence of her parents from her entire mind, and... well, it doesn’t paint a pretty picture.
Compton’s issues aren’t exactly related to his family, but they ARE hereditary. All three Booles in both games have both a connection with animals and some blastokinesis, although most of the issues seem to have skipped Sam. Dogen especially is very similar to Compton - both are socially anxious, get overwhelmed by their telepathy, and accidentally blow up heads when they get overwhelmed. It’s not hard to imagine that Compton’s parenting or influence may have had something to do with Dogen’s issues.
Ford doesn’t exactly have family issues, but boy howdy did he sure cause some.
The seed (heh) of Bob’s alcoholism seems to be related to his aunt’s alcoholism and death. His aunt dealt with her problems by drinking them away in her greenhouse, and now that Bob has gone through very similar loss, he uses the same coping mechanism - drown your issues under a lot of alcohol.
Gristol’s main problem is his overwhelming sense of entitlement, but his father plays a very significant role in his worldview. From Gristol’s perspective, his father ruined the inheritance Gristol was owed, and failed both Maligula and the country with his rule. Gristol believes he is entitled to rule of Grulovia thanks to his father, but also deeply resents him for his failures and is driven by the need to set right what he thought his father did wrong.
Nona, or Lucrecia Mux, had most of her issues brought on by the accidental killing of her sister and the false familial relationship she was deluded into believing was real her whole life. Although Maligula is the manifestation of her problems, Maligula very clearly would not exist if it weren’t for Marona’s death.
And these are just the people who’s minds we explore in some sense or another. There is the exception of Boyd, Edgar, and Helmut, but I’ll address that a bit later. None of the campers or the interns mention much about their family, but we can also infer from the way Loboto was treated that psychics are not exactly looked upon favorably. While certainly not all of the campers or interns have bad relationships with their parents, it is interesting that there is no mention that I can remember of a good parental relationship anywhere in either game. It’s either a bad relationship or it goes unmentioned (like Edgar, Boyd, and Helmut). While I can’t say definitively what this theme of complicated or bad familial relationships is intended to mean, there are a couple theories I have. It could be that Psychonauts is trying to tell us that mental illness is often a result of environment - children raised in non-loving environments rarely escape unscathed, and dealing with those issues often involves confronting that familial relationship. It could be that leaving your family trauma unresolved is very unhealthy: the only families we see recover from these issues, the Aquatos and the Zanottos, do so through honest communication. It could be that blood family does not obligate love, and that chosen families (like the psychic six or nona and augustus) are better because they actively choose to love each other. It could even be something completely unrelated that I haven’t thought of. But what I am pretty sure of is that Psychonauts 1 and 2 are definitely trying to tell us something with the family theme. What do you guys think? Is there something to this?

I know you made future designs for Maggie, Cheyenne, and Vince way back when. Do you have any plans to include them in a comic or something?
I did want to expand a bit on Maggie, her meeting Sasha at the mechanic shop and she tells her (Sasha) about what’s happening with her since high school. Jumping from job to job, eventually got a job at the mechanic shop, it’s how she met her current girlfriend/fiancée, how she can’t wait to be a step-mom to her gf’s daughter (who turns out to b Sasha’s half-brother’s best friend). But I never got around to it.
For Vince and Cheyenne, they were mostly for anytime I needed characters for the Trio (mostly Sasha) to talk/interact with at a bar since the headcanon is that Vince inherited it from his uncle and Cheyenne hangs out a lot
It’s possible I’ll do something later on, especially if/when I do comic versions of my incorrect quotes

Now please, if you will, Eren and Mikasa being horny and flirting with each other the whole night and they keep trying to sneak off to hook up but they keep getting interrupted.
And also Jean getting absolutely read to filth during dinner so then he just blurts out “well at least IM not the one who has to leave by 10pm because I’m on an ANKLE MONITOR” and the whole table goes silent.
And and and!! Levi absolutely adores Historia’s kid. She’s sitting on the little princess chair and mini table in the living room with a special made plate and the little mermaid playing on the tv!
I saw this last night but I was too tired to be coherent so I saved it for this morning. I feel like they really captured everyone's essence lol.
I just know someone is live tweeting the whole dinner, too, but I can't decide if it's more likely to be Sasha or Connie. Probably Connie, because she's too busy eating and I feel like he wants attention more than she does.
Did you see that relationship chart among the scouts, with what they think of each other, and Sasha and Connie were both "thinks the other is an idiot"? I love them so much. It reminded me of that scene where they're talking about who should inherit Eren's Titan. I feel like this would also come into okay at Thanksgiving dinner when it's time to play games and they're both thinking like, "ugh, I'm going to have to carry this team because Sasha/Connie is so dumb" and then they lose and are thinking like, "I knew it. How could I win with that dummy on my team? Sigh." But they'd never say it.

STOP! THANK YOU! I love when someone says skmeth8ng about art!
Also drop those spark notes, I’m too impatient 😭🤭
IT’S SO PRETTY YOU’RE SO TALENTED!!! Sorry for taking forever to respond the sparknotes were extensive 😭
OKAY SPARKNOTES TIME:
Swear
— with may ducat’s help, Y/N escapes solitary confinement and they go to help rescue eren from reiner and bertholdt
— Y/N pretends like she reciprocates bertholdt’s feelings so that he lets down his guard and she manages to free eren but is injured in the process, the scream scene is basically the same as it was in promise i think but I’m undecided whether she and eren would’ve kissed and gotten together at that point or not
— the first part of season 3 is also generally the same as promise was except levi is the one that kills rod reiss as he promised to do so right after Eren’s trial and Y/N becoming the commander of the first interior squad wasn’t a surprise, it was actually historia’s condition for becoming queen
— after rod reiss dies, levi gives Y/N a dagger so that in some way or another he’s always protecting her
— she confronts lord maiar (the one she was like engaged to??) and he threatens her life, which allows her to lawfully kill him as because she is his fiancée, by threatening her he is technically attempting to end his own family’s line of succession, so as his fiancée she is able to attempt to kill a family member of equal importance to him as herself (which is him) (it’s complicated but it’s basically the same rule that gave lord maiar control over her father’s family line after he killed her mother, lmk if you want me to add the direct quote explaining the law)
— during return to shiganshina, Y/N is ‘killed’ while fighting the beast titan with levi. floch saves her instead of erwin and levi has to choose between her and armin; he ends up choosing Y/N so she inherits the colossal titan instead of armin
— when they reach the sea, Y/N finds an oyster and decides to keep it because she thinks it’s a cool shell or something idk it’s just a memento for her
— while visiting marley with the scouts, Y/N and levi end up together by themselves while everyone is drunk because they’re the #responsible friends, she asks him if things between them would’ve been different if she wasn’t a lady/noble and he’s surprised but tells her no, eren then leaves as per canon which ofc upsets everyone especially Y/N
— attack on marley follows canon but it’s Y/N instead of armin, sasha is the one who dies at gabi’s hand
— during the table scene eren tells Y/N that she would be nothing without bertholdt and that she took everything from him (she is still wearing the black cloak at that point as well as having the colossal titan) and she also is the reason armin died and she’s unable to protect anyone
— Y/N is the one to find levi and save him from the jaegerists, they are together when the rumbling begins and consider just hiding away but they both know they can’t ofc
— i believe the rest of season 4 would’ve progressed like it did in canon
— once everyone else has been turned into titans and Y/N enters the paths, she meets eren and he tells her that armin was the true savior of humanity before having her open the oyster she found at the sea, revealing a pearl in it (pearls in this story represent justice), Y/N realizes that she has to find justice no matter what and returns to the present timeline
— on falco’s back, she thanks levi for helping her believe in herself, helping her be strong, and for giving her his dagger. She then takes off her black cloak and gives it to him before going into the mouth of Eren’s titan and apologizing before swearing that she won’t leave him ever again
— using Levi’s dagger, she stabs herself through the heart and uses the pain to transform on final time, knowing that it’ll end the curse of Ymir and she won’t be able to regenerate, effectively killing both herself and eren
— the reason why it works is because ymir chose levi to watch over, and when he chose Y/N over armin back in Shiganshina, he chose love over justice; however, when he doesn’t try to stop Y/N from killing herself for justice his mistake is fixed because he chose justice over love the same way that Y/N did
— the first epilogue shows the aftermath of everything, levi marries may ducat, everyone else i’m not quite sure about but i do think i planned on tullia and reiner getting together?? idrk i think that’s one of those things that would’ve developed naturally with the story ykwim
— the second epilogue is Y/N and eren in the afterlife sitting next to each other at the beach; Y/N says that it feels familiar and asks eren if there’s any universe where they’re happy
— eren tells her that them meeting and losing each other in every universe is inevitable while they watch scenes from their past lives reflected in the water; the scream scene from promise comes up and eren tells Y/N that that was the moment that their fates were set in stone because his soul formed a contract with hers, causing the repetition of their reincarnation cycle
— eren reveals that the reason why things never work out for them is because they are not each other’s soulmates; Y/N’s soulmate is levi but she is forced to be apart from him because of the promise eren made to her. however because she made the choice to die with eren instead of fully losing him, she has the chance to break free from the promise and be with her actual soulmate. the visions in the water change to show her having a peaceful and/or happy life with levi, but she refuses, saying she doesn’t care about who her soulmate is as she only wants eren
— they sit in silence for a while before eren warns her that she’s condemning herself to an eternity of pain if she continues to abide by the contract as there’s no chance for them to ever be happy together and there might not be another opportunity for her to break free from it again. Y/N says that she can bear any amount of pain as long as he finds her in every life they lead; eren swears he will and she swears to always stay by his side, as long as she can
— they sit for a little while longer and contemplate things and wonder where they will go next; they end up hugging, Y/N asks if they can stay there together for a little while longer, to which Eren agrees and says there’s no rush
Hostis Humani Generis
— this fic was tough because the problem with Y/N Ackerman is that she was just too strong; several of the problems in canon simply wouldn’t have occurred if she was there
— most of the fic followed canon; jean had a crush on Y/N and mikasa liked eren, tullia reiss was in love with armin and he loved her as well (they had a relationship)
— the ackermans don’t have hosts but they are born with innate protective desires and wills to fight; they usually associate their desire with one person, hence the host misconception, as it’s usually someone who they have strong feelings for — for Y/N in this fic it was tullia reiss as Y/N was illiterate due to coming from the underground and tullia taught her how to read and write so that she wasn’t kicked out of the cadet corps
— right after trost, it’s revealed that levi is Y/N’s ‘brother’ (to the characters, obviously we as the readers know based on context clues), levi tells her that farlan and isabel are dead and that she should stop going by “Y/N Church” as that’s not really her last name and it’s okay to not have a last name as he doesn’t either
— post-stohess, Y/N sees eren and mikasa together right after he wakes up so she decides to leave the room as she believes eren deserves better than her and she thinks that eren and mikasa are in love (she knew that mikasa cared for eren since the cadet corp but didn’t think eren liked mikasa back until just then)
— during the scream scene, Y/N confesses all of her crimes — of which there are MANY because she was a little murderer in the underground — and tells him that she probably deserves to die for everything she’s done. Eren gets angry and tells her that she can’t die because she is the kind of person that will change the world someday. She is in disbelief, and he tells her that they will do it together before punching dina
— the only super notable thing that happens in the first half of season 3 is that Y/N sees Kenny again, revealing that he is her father (again, to the characters — it was obvious to the readers based on context clues) and finds out that she is an Ackerman as well as discovering that although levi isn’t her literal brother, he IS her biological cousin
— oh wait also tullia reiss is denied the throne in favor of historia because the military officials thought she would be too hard to control and she was too close to rod reiss as a child; they are afraid she will turn on them somehow
— during return to shiganshina and the conflict between choosing erwin and armin, Y/N gets into a fight with mikasa for pinning levi — she is loyal to her brother above all else and doesn’t give the others time to convince him to pick armin, leading to erwin being revived instead (i promise i don’t hate armin LMAOO idk why he dies in shiganshina in both fics)
— when zeke is trapped in the forest with levi, tullia somehow manages to inherit his titan, severely injuring levi in the process (he’s in a similar state as in canon); her beast titan has a deer-like form
— it turns out that Y/N, tullia, and eren have been planning to start the rumbling, and with tullia inheriting the beast from zeke, she fulfills the requirement of a royal-blooded titan. during the battle in shiganshina, Y/N manages to block gabi’s shot, so eren reaches tullia unharmed after she screams and they go into the paths and start the rumbling with 0 fuss
— Y/N wanted the rumbling because she didn’t want anything to hurt her brother or her friends, eren wanted it for freedom and safety for his friends and somewhat for himself?? and tullia wanted it to get revenge on the world for what they suffered and for what was taken from her (they are not meant to be seen as morally just reasons LMAO that’s just how they justify it to themselves)
— Y/N disappears at this point while the rest of the characters do what they did in canon
— when mikasa breaks into the mouth of eren’s titan, she finds Y/N is there waiting for her; once again, they get into a fight, which Y/N wins. Y/N taunts mikasa by reminding her of what happened in shiganshina and how Y/N won, how she will always win in any match between the two of them because she is stronger. She almost kills mikasa but at the last moment lets her go, remembering that they are sisters in a sense due to being from the same family
— once the rumbling is completed, the genocidal trio emerges and they are immediately punished for their crimes; eren is fed to reiner, tullia to erwin, and Y/N is locked away in prison for the rest of her life
— the epilogue is Y/N reflecting on her time in prison. She hasn’t spoken since the day that eren and tullia were executed — the only thing she does is sit in the jail cell and think. She remembers that reiner used to visit and sit with her in silence (likely because he had some sympathy for her) but he hadn’t come for some years; it’s implied that this is because his term ended and somebody else got his titans as the curse of ymir was not ended. Jean used to visit her due to being in love with her; his last visit is her telling her he married mikasa, and he never comes back afterwards. Connie occasionally comes just to yell at her.
— at one point, people trying to revive the jaegerist cause broke her out of prison in the hopes that she will help them overthrow the government and the monarchy, but all she did was sit in the grass until she was caught and sent back to the jail cell. she is very apathetic about life now that the rumbling is over and doesn’t seem to care about anything or react to anyone
— despite how many years it has been, levi has never visited Y/N. as she thinks that, the story returns to the present and levi appears in his wheelchair. he tells her that she looks awful and, in the first time in years, she speaks, begging him to kill her. he unlocks the door to her jail cell and enters it, she sits at his feet and lays her head in his lap like she used to when she was a child; beginning to cry, she asks him if he hates her now
— he tells her that although she might have been an enemy of humanity, she would always be his little sister. she closes her eyes and smiles slightly; he wipes away her tears and then stabs her in the back
— fun fact: Y/N escaped the underground because she wanted to see the sun; however, she spends the last few years and honestly probably the majority of her life in the dark/underground, even dying there. at least she had her brother in her final moments?? lol

Important to Read: Athena/Sasha Headcanons
This is a list of headcanons mixed with canon regarding Athena. These are important headcanons because it explain about Sasha being the reincarnation of Athena.
Tumblr media
Headcanon: The Athena in mythological times is very different from the Athenas we know in Saint Seiya. Athena was more like the Athena we know in mythological times. While she looked after and helped many heroes and is usually in favour of the humans, she is similar to many of the other deities. She would look down on humans and can be seen as prideful and cruel at times. (Examples are the Arachne myth and there are other myths too)
She inherited the Earth from Zeus with the duty to protect humanity and that was what she did. Keeping a distant relationship with the humans, she helped the heroes do great deeds to protect humanity while not fully understanding or having a close relationship with the humans. She was only able to fulfill the minimum of her duties because of her pride and lack of understanding towards the humans. That was until she met Pegasus who changed her and taught her to be closer and more understanding to the humans. Because of Pegasus, she changed from a prideful goddess who was distant from the people to a goddess who became closer and live amongst the human. Her personality slowly changed to the Athena we know more now in the Saint Seiya universe.
During this time, she also became closer and develops feelings for Pegasus. The two developed an unbreakable bond where Pegasus will always be by her side no matter what.
There is a lot more to this but this is just the general idea of how Athena was during mythological times.
Canon: Hades was not only Athena’s enemy but many other gods. She had fought different gods just to protect humanity from them. Athena also only appears to humanity whenever a great threat comes. Her appearance/birth can be seen as an omen of evil is coming.
Hades was the only god so far to cause so much trouble and not give up on his goal to destroy humanity. Due to this reason, she is reborn every 200 years just to fight Hades. She is always reborn as a human underneath her statue in the Sanctuary.
In Lost Canvas, in a flashback with Athena and Partita, it is stated that Athena decided to be reborn as a human in the 18th century for the first time and this is against the laws of heaven to be reborn as a human. However, even though Athena is not allowed to do this, she still chooses to be reborn as a human because of her love and faith in humans.
This is where things don't really make sense. From this flashback, one would understand that Sasha is her first human reincarnation but then there is Sendai who is introduced later in the manga and she is also stated to be a human reincarnation of Athena in the 16th century (which is before Sasha). I don't know if there is a mistranslation, something I misunderstood or a plot hole. Either way, going from this, we can just state that Sasha is not Athena's first human reincarnation. I am going to assume the flashback between Athena and Partita is after the first conflict with Hades where she chooses to be reborn as a human and not before the 18th century.
As for Partita, she will always be reborn as a human alongside them but in each lifetime, there are different ways that she is protecting the bond between Pegasus and Athena in the shadows. In the 18th century, Partita chooses to be Tenma’s mother as a way to protect Tenma and his soul and bond with Athena.
As for Athena, why wasn’t she reborn underneath her statue in the Sanctuary? This is due to Karios’ interference in the Holy War. She was planning to be reborn in the Sanctuary, however, when she felt there was an interference/disturbance that she does not know of, she decided to change her plan and make a strategy to be reborn as Hades’ future host’s younger sister. Not only that, this also helps her fulfill what she wanted, to be reborn as a human, live a human life (one that isn’t privileged) and suffer as a human too. It was a risky move to be reborn away from the Sanctuary, however, it was her strategy to be close to the future host of Hades.
Headcanon and Canon: Athena chose to be reborn as a human because “Human life has a power much greater than that. Their strong will is such that even surpass the gods.” My headcanon is that she also reincarnated as a human because of her love for them. She remembered her first life with Pegasus where Pegasus taught her how to live with humans. Now she can live a human life to always remember her love and understanding for them.
Headcanon: Let’s talk about reincarnation! When deities reincarnated, they reincarnated as deities again. When they are reincarnated as deities, they still remembered their lives and still have their powers as a deity.
Humans are not able to reincarnate. When they died, their souls are stuck forever in the Underworld. Of course, there are some humans who are able to reincarnate, however, those are special cases.
In canon, it is against the laws of heavens for a deity to be reborn as a human so Athena is the only goddess to be reborn as a human. A deity being reborn as a human is unheard and because Athena is being reborn as a human, she needs to be awakened first. At the beginning, she will be a normal human with no memories of her past and a little bit of her power. When she is awakened as a goddess and accepts who she is, that is when her powers and memories are awakened and she is truly Athena.
Due to this reason, all the reincarnations of Athena have different but also similar personalities.
All the reincarnations of Athena inherit Athena’s will, determination, compassion, love and faith towards the humans and the strong desire to protect the humans.
But what is different from each Athena is their personalities and experiences. A better explanation is all the different Athenas are different incarnations of mythology Athena, her soul. When Athena died and get reincarnated, she doesn’t remember her past lives (until she is awakened) but because of that, she is influenced by the memories and experiences of her current life and that is what forms who she is currently now.
Sasha is Athena but also at the same time not Athena. Sasha’s personality and experiences are different from myth Athena but the soul is still the same. Sasha’s soul is Athena’s soul.
When Sasha is awakened, Athena’s memories and experiences do not feel like it is her memories and experiences but at the same time it does. This is because her current self did not experience those memories but her soul did.
Headcanon: Athena’s awakening only happens when she is told the truth and when she accepts her duties as Athena. Sasha awakens as Athena during the Scorpio gaiden when she was with Kardia. It was Kardia who help her accept that she is Athena, her duties and her powers. After she has accepted, she was able to fully use her cosmos as Athena.
Memories of Athena came later and slowly too. It would sometimes come in her dreams and sometimes when she is awake. It can get confusing and overwhelming at times but the Pope was always there to help her.
The more times Athena is reincarnated, the more her memories of her past will start to fade and get mixed up. Too many reincarnations, too many memories and over time, it is normal for memories to get muddied and eroded. Due to this reason, Sasha sometimes has a hard time recalling a memory from her past selves in detail.
Canon: Even after Sasha has awakened and accepted that she is Athena, there are times she has trouble adjusting between her old life and the life as Athena. After all, it is still a big change from poor orphan to the goddess of war and wisdom.
When she was younger, she would doubt her role as the goddess. She didn't feel strong as a deity of war or smart as a deity of wisdom. She felt like a normal poor orphan thrown into something so big that she wondered if she could handle this responsibility.
Headcanon based on canon: Sasha sometimes wishes people would see her as Sasha and not Athena because she feels like she is Sasha more than Athena (While her soul is Athena’s soul, it is her memories and experiences that make her Sasha).
Even though she is both Sasha and Athena, the saints would treat her more of a goddess, Athena and forget that she is human just like them. Sometimes, she wishes the saints would see and treat her as a regular human and friend.
Headcanon based on canon: Sasha prefers to be called Sasha over Athena, however, she understands that she is now Athena, the goddess of war and wisdom and needs to lead the saints to fight and protect humanity from Hades. Due to this reason, she will be “Athena” in front of her saints.
The only people who called her Sasha is Tenma, Kardia, and sometimes Regulus (because I headcanon they became closer friends and Regulus is able to know about Sasha’s feelings more than the other saints and understand that she feels more comfortable with being called Sasha. While it can be awkward at times, he does call her Sasha a few times when they are in private)
Headcanon: There is a difference between Athena in the mythological times and the one in Saint Seiya. Other than personality, their fighting styles are different too. Mythological Athena is a warrior and also very smart in battle while Saint Seiya Athena is more of a supporter than a warrior and not as smart.
Saint Seiya Athena is not as strong as the original Athena. The more times she reincarnated as a human, she loses more of her divinity and powers meaning she can never be as powerful as her original self.
When she awakens herself, while she has all her powers and memories, her mortal body is not like her deity’s body. She still lacks the amount of training and experience that her original self had in the past. She only has a few years to train and gain fighting experience as Athena.
Headcanon: The Pope is her teacher. Sasha learns how to fight and use her cosmos from the Pope. Not only that, but she also learn how to use strategies from the Pope and from the decisions from all the other previous Athenas in history as well. But most importantly, she was taught how to be a leader.
She also learns how to fight from the gold saints too. She asked the Pope if it is possible for her to train with each gold saint for a week. She wanted to learn more fighting styles while getting to know more about her gold saints and their fighting styles, strengths and weaknesses.
Headcanon based on canon: A reason why she isn’t more involved in the Holy War as a warrior is because of her importance to the Sanctuary. Since she is very important and seen as their goddess, it is usually the saints who will fight first. Not only that, it is important that she saved her strength to fight Hades.
Canon divergence: While I usually follow canon, my Athena will be a little canon divergent regarding her fighting skills and her involvement in the Holy War. I will still be mostly following the same storyline. Sasha will still be more of a supporter but she will be a better fighter and also more involved in the Holy War than the Sasha is in canon.

Amphibia Swap AU : What if Frog Anne, Newt Marcy and Toad Sasha found the box of calamity and when they opened it they end up teleported to Earth.
Alright, Let's see what I'm able to do, I was not confident when I went in but I think I'm onto something.
First, timeline shift. We are dealing with Modern Earth, but with Ancient Amphibia. Specifically an Amphibia on the brink of invading modern Earth. Andrias is our sole remaining Amphibian staying Amphibian. So the capital is still integrated
Anne is a frog living in the capital, her parents working the food stalls and do catering in the city. Bright eyed and pretty sure she's going to inherit her parents business one day.
Marcy is a young newt of a minor noble family. A nervous wreck at a big party her parents are throwing. She hides under the stairwell of the kitchens. Anne eventually notices her and started to sneak her food like she was a killapiller she didn't want to scare away. Marcy eventually starts talking to Anne and they become friends. Shortly before Bee or Oum discovers them, investigating where all their candied grasshoppers for the party disappeared to.
Sasha is from a military family and would get food from the foodstall growing up and would visit often after making friends with the ever personable Anne.
The three of them, as unlikely a trio as The prince Andrias and his two companions, one Barrel and Leif. Despite their best efforts to remain friends the three are slowly being pushed apart by circumstance. Anne's station certainly isn't changing, but Sasha is becoming a prodigy among the royal cadets, and the pressure for Marcy pursue her studies for the good of the family start to pull them apart.
Then on one stormy night, there is uproar in the streets and Anne comes outside to see the passing of a great lurching moss covered creature slam boddily into the alley next to her home it's rider dropping a pretty little music box. Anne takes it inside.
Then a day or two later when wanted posters go up all over the cities looking for a music box taken by a frog, she panics and goes to find her friends.
Marcy looks it over while Sasha and Anne argue about why Anne didn't step forward. Anne scared to death that they'd think she took it or was in league with the other frog who did. Marcy ends up repairing a bit of rune craft that got cracked inside the box and sets off the magic, teleporting the three of them to modern earth.
Honestly, LA is such a sprawling city, they could probably all end up there and still have trouble finding each other. Though if I wanted to set them farther apart it would be
Anne: Central Valley of California. With the Plantars, who are probably just growing legal cannibas on a modest plot of land?
Sasha: LA with Grime, retired veteran who hasn't has nothing more interesting to do
Marcy: The Bay Area/Silicon Valley. With Olivia, high powered member in some tech company who's life partner found this weird newt thing swimming in the bay and decided to take it in.
From there we get arcs of everyone learning to actually appreciate humans and realize that hey, maybe their imperialistic empire is... bad?!?
The box can't be drained cause there's no way to recharge it, so its really a matter of the three of them finding each other to get back.

Do you remember in one of the RQG Q&As when Alex said he'd vaguely thought about making Sasha inherit Bertie's wealth and titles?
I head-canon that that alternate universe Sasha is in fact the marquis de all the knives. In Ancient Rome, the portal spell spat her and Grizzop out in space somewhere. The mechs found them, and what with Sasha always altering her name to try and keep her identity secret, and Grizzop constantly mocking her for being rich now, the mechs started referring to her only by her daggers and a different title every time. Duchess Daggers, Lady Stab-a-lot, and eventually, the Marquis de all the knives.
She managed to tie them all up and steal enough supplies that she and Grizzop could leave, blowing a lot of things up in the process.
The mechs remembered them fondly.
Thoughts?
hmm well my first thought was that there is no universe where anyone would believe sasha was aristocratic
but then I realized it is the mechs who made that judgement
so even if she did suddenly inherit a title I genuinely don’t think she would change anything really, but yes if the mechs hear grizzop joking about it and decide she must be aristocratic based on whatever aristocracy looked like in wherever they’ve been hanging out for the last couple thousand years that could work- maybe they’ve been on a planet where leather jackets and sneakiness is a sign of great status 😂
She would enjoy the constantly changing names hehe (I like duchess daggers a lot)
now I’m wondering about her and grizzops chances against all the mechs… do gpt’s eyes make him see really well, would she not be able to sneak with him around? Actually never mind there’s no one Sasha can’t sneak around
Yea they could totally do it, a worthy foe indeed! I like this hc it’s fun to think about even though the inheriting the titles stuff would obviously never work

He didn’t often get sick, or if he did, he ignored it enough until he wasn’t.
He also didn’t often ask for help, if at all. Levi would be hard pressed to fully admit either or as he couldn’t recall that far back; perhaps as a child, perhaps not even then. He desired to hold nobody’s hand. Relying on others was a weakness he refused to inherit. It had offered him nothing in life, and he would do anything to stave off the predictable humiliation. After all, it was only a matter of time before someone would disappoint him.
Even you,  he had his doubts. You with your steadiness, and unwavering faith. You, reliable, trustworthy you.
At times he felt compelled to return your trust, your smile beguiling, warm and bright like sunshine. He wanted to believe that not every tale was a tragedy, that every time he gave his heart away didn’t always have to end in heartbreak.
He blames this possible illness on his sudden sappy thoughts. He blames his nasal congestion, and dull headache for his softness, for the way he goes easy on the cadets during training. He blames the lingering, annoying dry cough that kept him up most of the night, on the way he doesn’t even care that Sasha is fighting someone over dinner rolls during dinner. He blames the fatigue, the achy muscles for the way he gives in to your touch, when you walk over to him. You press one cold hand against his forehead, and he groans both in pleasure and in annoyance; annoyance because leaning into your touch seemed easy–too easy.
“I thought you looked feverish,” you tell him, a frown heavy between your brows. He looks up at you with burning eyes. He smacks his lips, feeling thirsty. “You should get some rest.”
He thinks he should defy you–deny your kindness. He thinks he should teach you to learn your place. He could take care of himself. He stands up, and there’s a sudden lightness in his head. A dizzy spell steals his senses, and he finds himself leaning into you again, your shoulder strong and steady.
“Oop,” he hears you mumble. He thinks he hears amusement in your voice, and he wishes he had the energy to say something smart and sharp. “Let’s get you to your room, Captain.”
His legs are filled with lead, at least it feels like it as you help him up the steps to his bedroom. You drop on the bed, and all but collapse on your pillow. Your breaths feel shallow, and heavy. There is a feeling of foreboding in his chest that threatened to stir up sleeping anxieties. He watches you instead, seeking immediate distractions.
“It’s no big deal,” he mumbles, eyes fluttering as he struggles to stay awake. “I’ll be fine. You can leave.”
You don’t hear him, or at least you do not give an inclination of it. He can’t imagine you ignoring him. You simply didn’t have the audacity, now did you? He couldn’t think about it, not seriously, not completely, not in his current state. He groans, draping one arm across his eyes as if that would help ease the pounding pressure behind them.
There’s a dip in the bed, a creak of the mattress recognizing your weight on it. He feels your warmth next to him, and curses under his breath at how he begins to turn towards, how he wants to curl himself around you.
He feels hands in his hair, fingers carding through raven locks. His eyes flutter close as a cold cloth goes over his forehead.
“You don’t have to act so tough all the time, you know,” you tell him and he hears it again–that damn sprinkling of mirth embedded in your syllables. It erodes him, consumes his carefully constructed armor. “I’ll stay here until you feel better. Unless you want me to get Hange.” He feels you move, starts to feel your warmth disappear so he reaches with a clammy hand, wraps skinny fingers around your wrist.
“No,” he manages to breathe out, seeing you through his lashes. “No. It’s fine. You may stay.”
You smile, and bite your lip, surely to keep from laughing at him. He rolls his eyes and groans, defeated, dropping his head back on the pillow. You join him again on the bed, start playing with his hair again.
“Get some sleep, Captain. I’m not going anywhere.”
Your words sound like truth, self-evident and unquestionable. He lets go of his fears for once, allows himself to fall into the warm comfort of the bed. Your fingers in his hair are soothing, little touches of affection he never knew he needed. It’s not long before his breathing becomes shallow, slower. In the limbo between unconscious and waking, he thinks he feels your lips brush against his forehead.
A dream, he was sure; and what a pleasant dream it was.

So what do you think of Eren's choice to slaughter the royal family for the sake of abducting the power of the founder?
Do you think he meant it when he told Grisha that this is payback for the Royal Family and the King's inaction and choice to sit idly and sacrifice his own people for the crimes they did not commit calling it "atonement", or did he just manipulate Grisha and knew that it's wrong to hold accountable children and kill and them just so they don't interfere and inherit the founder, starting the eldian genocide and the cycle of children eating their parents all over again?
Thank you for the ask! It was so fun to answer, please send anymore you have!!
To be honest, the royal family could be borderline saintly, or worse than Willy Tybur himself and Eren probably wouldnt have changed anything, they were in his way and he needed the founder. (That being said were the royal family actually benevolent the circumstances that led Eren to do what he did never would have come to, but i digress).
I think what Eren did was justified, the royal family had completely forsaken the citizens of paradis many, many times. They had forsaken them when the walls went up and their memories were wiped, they continuously did so when they left the people in the dark, and lied to them. They did it again when they allowed the government to install a puppet monarch which directly led to the sort of corruption we saw in season three that nesrly got Erwin executed, that got Armin's parents killed for trying to escape the walls. The royal family were also not prepared for the eventuality of the Marleyan Invasion of Paradis.
Killing the children, while brutal, was a smart decision. Eren had nearly to a decade to wait between the slaughter and the rumbling, if those children were allowed to grow up with that vendetta against the Jaegars, well, there could be a similar and equally harsh group that rival the Jaegarists by s4. I mean, imagine seeing the son of the man who killed your whole family use your titan for his own gain, youre not gonna sit there and take it.
Not to mention, Eren needed Rod Reiss to do what he did in season 3 where he was in season 3 (i.e. the kidnapping, taking historia and eren to the catacombs, etc. Etc.) And Reiss cannot do that if he still has children to fight for and care for. The children are, as harsh as it sounds, a distraction from Eren's final plan. He needed to be in those catacombs, he needed the Rod Reiss titan, he needed all those secrets to be shown so Historia could be queen and all the other domino effects from it. That mid-s3 arc is in my opinion a rather low point for the show, save for the kenny parts, i found it to be a bit of a slog, but it is undoubtedly one of, if not the, most critical points in the story for what happened in season 4.
Eren was willing to do anything he had to to secure a happyife for Mikasa, Armin, and to a lesser extent Jean and Connie, and I would even go as far as to say Sasha too even if he wasnt capable of it, who knows, maybe there was no future where all 5 made it out, maybe eren really didnt have all that much control in the first place. He said what he had to to anyone he had to in order to achieve that goal and really we can't take anything eren says between the kiss on historias hand and the finale at face value (save maybe for that conversation with armin that he made armin forget).
It's also important to note that its only due to the combined power of the founder and attack titans that eren could speak to grisha in the past and therefore doing exactly what he did might be the only way to have the titans, in laymans, had eren not killed the children, he might not have gotten the titan to tell grisha to kill the children in the first place.

hi there soo I thought of an au so I decided to share it so basically Eren is a king and mikasa is his queen of course and Sasha is mikasa’s lady in waiting/ handmaiden , since mikasa is kinda considered foreign to the Eldian and with want to ensure the continuity of Yeager line ( founding titan power being inherited through genes ) as much as possible ( they want a shiton of heirs) , the kingdom council and the ppl started pushing for a 2nd fully eldian wife , Eren and mikasa were fully against it until they knew they had to give to the ppls demands thus Sasha was suggested since her and mikasa are close friends and mikasa trusts Sasha and knows she will not harm her or her future children neither will Sasha’s kids do ….. yeah that’s pretty much it so what’s your opinion? If you like it maybe give it a one shot or some head canons to flesh the story out a bit , thanks ❤️
Omg i love ittt! I feel like I always do eremikasasha established so this prompt actually feels sooo fresh! I am assuming this is like an canonverse au in which Eren is king instead od the Reiss family right? Or is it a whole new different universe?
Either way, i feel like these ideas can work out oretty well as a storynfor it!
It has been six months since Eren was forced to rule Paradis Kingdom along his chosen queen, Mikasa Yeager from Hizuru, ever since the assesination of the former King and father, Grisha Yeager
So far things have gone smoothly for them, it's not like they got so much to do as the former rulers of Paradis Kingdom since almost every decision made about the future of its kingdom was always made by the kingdom council, they could suggest some chabges here and there but nothing
It's not like that was the life they wanted to be fair, Grisha Jeager was so adamant about their relationship ever since he discovered Mikasa's heritage, forbidding Eren to ever choose some outsider as his wife unless he was willing to marry someone from the walls too! Just like he did when he married Carla and Dina Jeager!
Obviously Eren was taking none of it, getting ready to elope with Mikasa to anywhere if that meant being with her for the rest of his life! She was the only constant in his life ever since they found each other when they got lost in thw woods afterall (don't tell this to Armin tho), if it wasn't because of the rebel group that killed his father just days before he could proceed with his plan, he would have taken Mikasa to somewhere in the mountains already!
That's why, when the ghost of his father's demands appeared through the kingdom's council asking him to consider marrying someone who "wasn't a mere outsider" he almost killed the old man who suggested it, if anything, for saying such a thing in the pressence of his lady
The push for a second queen became stronger when rumors started to spread through the town about Mikasa's heritage and how she came from a clan that had a story about opposing the Jeager Royal Bloodline (Ackerman), and how there was a possibility that their offspring wouldn't inherit the Titan genes running through Eren since she was an outsider, making the townsflolks join the kingdom council side in the matter
Before things escalate higher than they should and a new rebel group starts to form, it is Mikasa who asks him to agree with it stating that "I don't care how many women do you have to marry as long as I get to be by your side for the rest of my life, Eren" voice at the edge of breaking at the prospect of losing him
He really wanted to take her with him right there, the idea of eloping once again in his mind but this time looking less possible, they were the leaders of Paradis afterall, there was no way they could make it out of the walls without being noticed, reluctantly agreeing to get a second wife the next time he had a meeting with his coulncil
Several women are suggested by the kingdom council, all of them coming from well known royal families with the only purpose of creating bonds in between families, nasty glares sent at Mikasa whenever they are told about her, hidden intentions masked in vague suggestions to better leave the throne for her own "safety"
So far no one has been chosen and Mikasa can't help but vent about everything to Sasha, her long friend and lady of honor, the only one who she trusted, her only girl friend who could understand her position and the crippling fear that started to swallow her
Maybe it was because it pained her so much to see her queen-friend like that, so she didn't give it too much of a thought before offering herself to be Eren's second wife/queen, the suggestion taking Mikasa aback for a quick moment before she realized it was the best choice!
Sasha was just everything they needed, she was fully eldian, she had a good connection with the Royal Family even in she was just her handmaiden, and since she was aware of eveything, she could just pretend she was Eren's wife in front of the townsfolk! She won't actually have to be Eren's lover!
When Eren was told about the idea he agreed to it right on the spot, it was the best course action so far sincerily he would rather have someone as Sasha as his "wife" rather than the snakes that the council tried to push him for, even if he doesn't know the girl as much as Mikasa did
Even if the townsfolk got their doubts about Sasha as a queen, it was good enough, and even if the council tried to refuse they didn't enough reasoning to do so
Their wedding went smoothly and the kiss they shared at the altar was probably the most awkward they ever had, both because of Sasha's lack of experience and for the lack of feelings between the two of them
It was fairly easy to play pretend from that moment on, whenever they were out in the public Eren and Sasha just had to hold hands or maybe some forehead kisses here and there, sometimes mixing it with wholeheartedly affection for Mikasa too to truly show his commitment
The 3 of them get to know each other on a more intimate/private level too! Mikasa gets to see a more bubbly and easy going Sasha who always had to show herself as a level headed servant, and Eren would actually have so many things in common with her, like how they loved to hunt for example
From Sasha's side, she would actually enjoy being with them, she would love the nice 180 degrees change her life did, and the fact that she could her the little town she grew up in with her influence as queen was a nice plus! But still she actuallu enjoyed how she was able to meet Mikasa on a more personal level too! She always admired her ever since she took her in when despite daring to steal her ring that one time, and Eren wasn't that bad to be honest, he was better than his father at least!
The more time passes her feelings start to change, so many time spent pretending to be Eren's wife start to take a toll on Sasha the moment she starts to appreciate the little gestures he does for her, like the countless times he made his men deliver food and supplies to her town and her family for her help or all the time they spent hunting together just as a hobby
The more time oasses, Sasha can't help but feel a little envy of Mikasa and how Eren seemed genuine whenever he had to show his affection for her, kisses and little gestures of love shared between them that she also felt but certainly didn't made her feel in the same way it made Mikasa feel, at some point her mind taking a dark path and making her doubt herself when she pictured herself tasting Mikasa's lips or she letting her head rest in her lap after a long day travelling around the walls, her body full of shame at such thoughts, she was supposed to be a mere puppet in this after all, she can't get in their way
What she doesn't know is that the same is happening for the two of them! With Eren sometimes showering her with so much affection than needed or trying so hard to show himself as a loving husband when he could just do the bare minimum, or sometimes Mikasa having intrusive thoughts on her mind about how Sasha looked so beautifully when she enjoyed herself and doing evrything possible to make her smile more, way too invested in her happiness with them for some reason, guilt filling them as well and even worse, considering how she was off limits and just helping them with their selfish request, a selfish request that didn't served a purpose if they were struggling to keep their feelings on check
The more time passes, the council and the townsfolks start getting more desperate for an offspring, specially from Sasha's part, since she was the fully eldian queen, that being Sasha last straw
They get into a argument the moment Sasha asks them to stop this ruse, since there was no way she could have Eren's children like this, chaos enssuing the moment they try to woo her with materialistic things, edging her into admitting how her mind and her feelings for them have grew so strong she wasn't sure what was she thinking anymore, and that she was afraid she would do something that crossed the line she wasn't supposed to cross and that it would lead up to things ending horribly between the three of them, something she didn't want
Eren and Mikasa share an knownful gaze before they start admitting their own feelings too, how Eren started to appreciate Sasha more and more and how his appreciation for her help turned into something bigger, Mikasa almost on the same situation, her admiration for her altruism awakening something inside her that could be labeled as blasphemy for everybody else
That same night where they became honest with each other was the same night that held so many firsts, a first kiss shared in between the girls that made robbed the air out of their lungs and the sould out of their bodies, feeling so wrong and at the same time so right, their shame forgotten in the hopes of feeling their soft lips against each other, the very first kiss shared between Eren and Sasha that seemed genuine, Eren.letting himself feel for her in the same way she feel for Mikasa and Sasha answering wholheartedly like she have always wanted but denied for so long, the shackles of her conciouness coming undone as her clothes did, a last kiss shared between Eren and Mikasa as assuranse of their love, that there was nothing wrong for feeling the way they did if they were able to keep loving each other jusy they way they have been ever since they promised, only this time, letting themselves shsre their love for the very same person that bothered to help them
At the end of the day, it was a win/win situation, they got to preserve their love for each other and at the same time managed to keep everyone happy, the several offsprings they conceived the purest form of their love...
I'm sorry for keeping your ask on waiting for this long lol, I really wished I did a drabble if I took this long but I really wanted to flesh out everything about this prompt lol
I'm also very impressed I didn't do smut with this 🤣perhaps a short drabble about that last part could be ideal??? Let me know if you think so!

IM BACK BABY! super horny hiccupfic under the cut, it was meant to be just a few paragraphs of description drawing inspo from another WIP I’m working on but it ended up as four pages in google docs so [theoretically Reader/Loboto but only mentioned] [CW: emeto mention, body/weight discussion, discussion of organs/digestion/internals/health issues, sexual shame, references to sexual/nsfw stuff, drug/alcohol/animal harm refereces, humiliation kink, clothes not fitting, stuffing, soda/water bloat, burping]
It was a great injustice that men couldn't wear one piece swimsuits. Except for Sasha, who somehow had managed to find a black rash guard that covered most of his body (he had problems with the sun, which Caligosto theorized was a secondary effect of congenitally weak enamel). Yes, the erstwhile dentist had voluntarily chosen to wear a pair of neon green swim briefs that provided the least coverage possible, but in his defense the trunks they had were ugly as fuck. Plus he always had trouble wearing any kind of men's pants or shorts thanks to the giant hips he'd inherited from the maternal side of his family, which had only become more of an issue now that he had abandoned his life as a fugitive and was getting enough food.
The thing was, he felt absolutely fine wearing them when he first arrived to the party, a summer picnic thrown by the outreach branch of the psychonauts where counselors, kids and interns could  discuss career opportunities or just decompress at the beach. He didn't mind that people could see his soft, untoned tummy that was networked with scars. Cal was fairly confident in his body; he had to be, as someone who had given himself a pair of intimidating cybernetic eyes. He wasn't even very self-conscious when he realized just how much he had eaten and saw that his stomach was now noticeably distended. So he was a little too full and probably wouldn't be able to go swimming, disappointing but fine.
But as time went on, instead of the pressure in his guts gradually subsiding as he digested his food, it continued to build as his stomach churned, attempting to compress and dissolve its contents into submission. His stomach was very capable, mind you, not like whatever feeble ulcerous organ was inside that Bonaparte fellow. It had successfully broken down live fish, various raw forest plant material, countless loads of pills, booze, and/or laboratory chemicals. But something about the combination of food he had consumed in that instance was too challenging; it was almost too normal, much richer and denser than the usual scavenged faire and dry rations. Tiny burps that threatened to make him vomit kept surfacing in his throat, but did nothing to relieve the pressure.
So, he did what he had always done in his college years and the relatively successful period in his career as an underground dentist when he had overestimated his capacity for pizza or greasy, questionably sanitary buffet food. He downed a can of diet citrus soda, allowing himself to swallow any air that entered the toothy cavern of his mouth. After emptying the last drops, Cal braced himself for a dramatic eructation, ready to turn away from the table and cover his mouth. A few inaudible bubbles rose, but nothing else. He discreetly reached under the table and pressed a large, slender hand into his bulging abdomen. It was firm but a little squishy, and he could feel gurgles and bubbles inside him where he applied pressure. He felt a promising sensation in his esophagus, and politely buried his face in his elbow and turned away, much like someone coughing on a train.
He flexed his abdominal muscles against his water balloon of a stomach, and produced a substantial, airy burp. The crook of his arm muffled most of it, and people most likely couldn’t hear it above the conversation. It terminated in a loud hiccup that was so forceful it painfully jerked his belly and chest and so loud that people were looking at him when he turned back to face them. But it only lasted for a moment, and they soon returned to their food and socializing. Caligosto internally sighed with relief.
He had a little bit of a digestion problem, and sometimes when he ate too much or too fast he would hiccup. Just once or twice. It hadn’t  happened much around anyone currently in his life, either. He barely ever had enough to eat while living in the ruins. In his time at the Motherlobe, he had once devoured a stack of pancakes with a little too much bloodlust which lead him to hiccup twice and earn a joking admonishment for not chewing enough from Oleander. He hardly ever got the hiccups, though, plural and ominously titled. And if he kept calm and controlled his breathing and swallowing, this situation would be similarly uneventful.
Suddenly pausing in his eating and drinking, he focused inward and held his breath. He clenched his chest and stomach muscles and swallowed hard whenever his throat twitched. He felt confident in his strategy until a deep hmgk, unable to project itself, was satisfied with squeezing his entire thoracic cavity in an all-encompassing spasm. He almost jumped and felt a massive liquidy jiggle radiate through him.
Before, his belly had looked like he was sticking it out as far as he could with his own muscle power. Now it was concerningly large and round (and noisy). He looked like he might need medical attention. Fortunately, it was still hidden from view. He hiccuped squeakily as he examined his physical state, distracted and caught off guard.
"Are you okay, Caligosto?" Milla asked from elsewhere at the table. She probably thought he was choking. Fuck. Everyone in their little friend group was the focus of a crush that Cal had pinned up on a conspiracy board with lots of red yarn and licorice somewhere in the depths of his mental world. Even though he was... possibly? dating Y/N, that didn't discourage his id from punching in the codes that directed his glands to release a massive dump of confusing panic and arousal hormones. Mostly panic.
"I-I just had something hic! go down the wrong tube!" He reassured her, swinging his legs quickly off the bench in the hopes that no one would get a good look at him. "I'm going to go explore the beach!"
As he loped away as quickly as he could while supporting himself on his long, skinny legs with his suddenly readjusted center of gravity, he heard Oleander telling her that "he just has the hiccups, that kinda stuff makes him really embarrassed. Insecure in his masculinity, if you ask me." Oh, please. He wanted to shout back that he wasn't the one who ordered giant armored spiky death tanks, but he knew from a few humiliating past experiences that getting angry or yelling usually only made his problem worse.
His target was a lone spigot embedded in a wooden post, a fair distance away from the picnic area. Hic! Hic! He groaned. The exertion of sprinting had sped up his hiccuping, and now he was beginning to really notice how every hic shook his belly. The inhale made his stomach tense and flex into a tight sphere before the exhale made it surge back out again, once again heavy and soft. He looked around for witnesses and then knelt awkwardly at the faucet. Gravity made his stomach even bigger and more sensitive, more present on his mental switchboard. He ignored the strangely sensual feeling of his soft underbelly brushing against his bare thighs (what would it be like, he wondered, to be so large and round that he couldn't get his thighs together? and then quickly realized that wasn't a smart thought to have while wearing a tight bathing suit).
He opened his mouth wide (it was one of his talents) under the spigot and turned it on, gulping water with the practiced ease of someone who had downed jugs of colonoscopy prep fluid and pitifully weak homemade wine. As persistent as a rabid raccoon, he got as much water in him as he possibly could without doubling over in pain. He shut off the water and woozily righted himself, hiccuping immediately. He felt his stomach slosh.
Why did he do that? He knew intellectually that any extra liquid would probably strain and irritate his diaphragm even more. I was only exhausting every possible treatment option! But some part of him that was serious and probably still wore glasses asked him if he was telling the truth. Was he really trying to cure his hiccups, or was he trying to make them worse? Was he trying to make his stomach even fuller because he liked the pressure and the muscle contractions? Did he want to find Y/N so he could rush home to make sense of his feelings (read: massage his belly and masturbate in a hot bath)? Shut up, brain! I pay you to work for me, not the other way around!
He stealthily retrieved his beach bag and carried it with him, removing a towel that he wrapped around his middle protectively. A changing stall was available. It was a bit of a squeeze with his ongoing indigestion, but he managed to get his pants out and start tugging them up over his legs. They were fine until he got them up over his hips and had to button them. His stomach was sticking out so far that he couldn’t even close the fly, let alone button it. Squeezing the gap shut only provoked a bubbly hiccurp. Caligosto felt like he was growing, bigger than he should have been after the soda and water. He rubbed across the surface of his belly and felt that it was tight with gas. The party food wasn’t agreeing with him, reacting with his stomach acid and giving off air bubbles like a bath bomb. He squeezed his thighs together and focused his mind; no, no, this is bad, you don’t want this, you’re going to be so humiliated… No no no! You don’t want to be humiliated either! What’s wrong with me?
He felt a little bit of despair when he realized that his loose floral shirt wouldn’t fit either. Resigned, Cal wrapped himself in a towel again and left the little building.
“Hey, Doctor!”
He yelped and spun around, flailing his metal arm defensively while keeping a tight grip on his towel. His strained, nervous hiccups didn’t help with the intimidation value of the display. He relaxed when he saw it was Y/N, but then was overcome with a new fear that they would see his belly. What if they thought he was disgusting, or made fun of him, or, or- or tied him down to an operating table and mercilessly rubbed and tickled his tummy?
“Aw, did I startle you? I’m sorry.”
Before he could stop himself, he said “I wish you HIC had scared me enou-hic!-enough to cure my hiccups!” Oh god, this was just like when he couldn’t resist asking that crime scene cleanup tech for her number. He loved saying it, though. He had never purposefully drawn attention to his hiccups before, but telling Y/N about them felt so good and wrong.
Y/N smiled and reached out to rub his hand. “Aw, that sucks. Do they hurt?”
He nodded. “They’re HICcup starting to give me a bellyache. Hic! But, er,” he cautiously opened his towel, beginning to flush purple-pink. His bloated gut was on full display to Y/N, even bigger than it had been when he tried to put on his shirt. “It’s hic! really not a surprise that hilk! my belly hurts.”
Y/N leaned in, acting concerned but radiating a conspiratory mischief. Caligosto felt they had hit each other’s nerves somehow, deep in the pulp, and the nerves were now transmitting to one another. They extended a hand. “May I?” He nodded and they reached under the towel and gently stroked his tummy. Their hand was cool, and the intimate touch in such a strange place that was so sensitized from pain and stress made him shiver. It felt like the early stages of an orgasm hovering in a mist somewhere around his stomach and chest.
They increased the pressure, rubbing his belly with strong, firm motions. It gurgled and bubbled and pressed against their palm, which resisted and sank into the flesh. Y/N could feel the entire process of his hiccups, from the tensing of his diaphragm to the sudden intake of breath that seemed to inflate his stomach to the sloshy aftershocks inside him. His knees were getting shaky.
“Maybe we should head home early since you’re not feeling well.” Y/N suggested. “If you want, we can cuddle in my queen size and maybe try to work some of the air out. If you’re comfortable with that.”
“Comfort has no hic! place in medicine!” He replied with undue confidence in the Hippocratic oath. “But erm, yes, hiccup I would be very comfHICfortable with that.”
And so they ditched the beach party to go have sexual platonic snuggles.

Just wondering but what do you think Maggie, Cheyenne, and Vince look like in your Amphibia future AU? Also their jobs, though, obvi that V is now a singer-songwriter
Tumblr media
Maggie found out that not only was her bullying of Anne due to her xenophobia but also internalized homophobia caused by both the catholic school they all went to but also her family. She realized after Frogvasion that she had a crush on Anne but felt bad about her bullying and so never did anything except leaving Anne alone. After high school she tried a bunch of jobs but nothing stuck until a family member needed their car fixed and she was able to figure out what was wrong and she got a job in one of her cousin’s garage. It’s this job that allowed her to met a single mom just a few years older than her, the two hit it off and eventually started going out and they’ve been together ever since. Maggie became close to her girlfriend’s daughter and she treats her as if she’s her own daughter and is very supportive. The daughter is best friends with Sasha’s younger half-brother which was a surprise when the two found out. Maggie is the only person Sasha trusts to fix her baby (Sash’s car).
Vince owns and works at a rock n roll bar that he inherited from an uncle. He plays guitar in a band but also fills in if a band loses a member in short notice. He helps Sasha write songs (which for her 6 times out of 10 are about Anne or Marcy or both). He dated Sasha briefly in high school but it only lasted a week. He and Cheyenne often collab with music and Vince uses his connections to help Cheyenne with her band. Currently not dating anyone.
Cheyenne is a singer and bass player in a band and is trying to make it big. She and Vince used to be in a band together in high school but creative differences led them to break up the band but are still friends. She works part-time as a delivery driver. When Sasha starts dating Marcy and then Anne as well, Cheyenne was the first one between her and Vince that was told. She owes Vince $20 because of a bet about the Trio.

❛ i already told you, i’d do anything for you. no questions asked. ❜
⋆ quotes from stories I never finished . accepting
"Aw, would you look at that? All this Atlas tech and you still didn't fix the brain damage," Fiona chuckled, hand nursing her drink with no small degree of amusement and watching the liquid swirl inside the glass. It was a beautiful shade of dark red, and the aroma was delightful, too - top shelf stuff, really. Apparently, Rhys hadn't been lying when he casually mentioned that Promethea had very good wine.
(Not that it had been the decisive factor in Fiona dropping by this time - not at all, but the woman wasn't about to give that detail away for free.)
"I don't know much about running a big corporation, but I thought you'd at least ask me for details. A proposal, maybe - with some nice estimates and pretty pictures? Isn't that the sort of thing you get from people these days?" the grin came easily, but it was still mostly just a guess - based on things Fiona recalled hearing from Vaughn and his routine, but even that felt like a lifetime ago.
"But fine. Fiiine. I'm not going to complain if you don't need me selling something if you're that desperate to buy anyway," the former con artist laughed this time, a larger sip of the wine following in a way that made clear that, regardless of the adventures Fiona had lived through the last few years, it hadn't fundamentally changed her - in the same way the money inherited from Felix had led to no difference in how both her (and Sasha) viewed the world, except for a nice little paintjob for the caravan and some cool upgrades to their weapons of choice.
(Six bullets could go at once in her prized derringer now - Athena would be so proud, but Fiona still liked to think about them as contingency plans; six of them - but only as fancy back-up.)
"But maybe you should tell your secretary or whoever deals with your calendar that you're going away for some time. I can't believe I'm going to say this - but I need your help. I don't trust anyone else with this," the woman said with a seriousness that suddenly felt out of place given her previous smiles and light teasing, but it was not difficult to see it was a sincere emotion. Fiona's green eyes were on Rhys and locked onto his figure, not distracted by the wine or anything about their nice surroundings of a transformed Promethea.
She meant business.
And it was not even family business - her recent falling with Sasha meant as much; Fiona was asking for a favor (and a hell of a big one at that), but since Rhys had been so willing and welcoming of her needs, she was not going to change tactics in the face of unexpected luck.
"I think I found some sort of tracking device for the vaults. For all of them. Location and time stamps," the woman said in a conspiratorial whisper, leaning in closer but given Rhys a hard, determined look that was unbothered by his bicolored gaze, "But I need help figuring that thing out to see if I'm right. If I am, though..." a pause, followed by a sharper intake of breath, "I'd be willing to work on an exclusive basis for you as your own personal vault opener - just so we make sure no douchebag gets to make another planet into their own slave colony or something equally disgusting."
The part left out was related to the potential dangers along the way, of course - it was also assuming that Fiona was right (she usually was), that they would get the device up and running (Rhys typically did these things) and that all would flow according to plan - and that was where they had horrible, shitty luck.
But they had done it once against fucking unbeatable odds; maybe the could do it again for one last time.
