The running theme of the past couple months has been my brain randomly conjuring the Mountain Goats line “I hope you love your life now/like I love mine” 

I always used to say that one day I was going to move far away from home and figure out who the fuck I was on my own, and now I have, and I really like who I’ve become, and like, life isn’t perfect and it’s not at all how I pictured it when I was younger but I really think I’m happy? 

Fucking hell, I’ve been getting really sentimental with the holidays coming up, but I just want to say that I hope you all can find a way to love your lives, if not now, then someday, because it’s the best feeling in the whole world to realize that you’re gonna be okay, and I just really want everybody to have that.

#god i'm weirdly emotional today #i went for a walk in the park and there were ducks #and a mariachi band playing in the AIDS memorial grove #and little kids on bikes #and so many friends laughing together #and the sun! #and the wind! #and I got to my favorite part of my book! #and i read some really good fanfic today #and listened to christmas music #and when i called my mom she told me about all the goings on at our small town library #and i did laundry and got to put on sweatpants straight from the dryer #and there's so many bad things that have happened #but i'm here! #i'm alive! #and i get to have so many good days! #i wanna go back in time and tell my younger self visiting san francisco for the first time that one day i get to live here #and have short hair #and joke about kissing girls #and pet every dog i see #happiness is not a foreign emotion #but contentment is #and i think that's what this is #anyway #sorry for the sappiness #adventures with hannah
