if you get earrings, then go to an actual piercing shop. do not go to a earrings at like claire’s with air guns… no. air guns break/shatter ear bones. you’ll have to keep those clean as hell.

hair varies with everybody. hairstyle is very intimate to one’s style identity/aesthetic. (i bring this up because that’s is the point of solarian, lunarian, stellarian, as labels) so i can’t give much on that. i have heard wigs can be good for when you want to do wild hair. if you die your hair, it can damage it severly. so i’d suggest hair chalks which are like eyeshadow, and those cans of color that goes away in 1 wash. color the tips not the roots, because while it may be messier, you can just cut the tips it gets botched instead of losing your entire head of hair.

so for buying bras, you go by your chest size. the letters a, b, c, d, dd, etc add 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc inches to hold (what would be) your breasts. if you’re in europe (or some other fashion lines) then replace dd with e & carry on. so a 44D is 44+4, a 38C is 38+3.

getting a bra that hooks in front is such a relief. however, if you have to get one with hooks on the back, then you can put it on backwards, hook it while they’re in front of you, from bottom to top, and then turn it around so it’s on correctly.

if you push against the bra & it deflates, you’ll need padding because boobs would fill that in basically if you’re holding like books in front of you or someone pushes into you, that can look like a cone pushed inward. while getting silicone breast cups or breast forms used in sewing would be the most economical, using overnight bladder or period pads for each side of the bra is able to be done when you don’t have a shop for breast forms around. family dollar sells bras for like 2 for $9, but if you can’t fit into those (their biggest size was 44D last time i checked. i’m a big woman, like 5′10″, 230lbs, mid 40′s on the chest.) if you go beyond these bras, it’s easy to find prices of like $25/bra. you’ll probably need 7 to get thru a week, 1 per day.

you will want to put baby powder into your bra to minimize rash development, bra sweat, and help with reusing the bra in case you’re not able to wash it before you use it next.

bras must be handwashed in cold water with soap, one at a time. i use the bathroom sink. if you don’t have a drain plug, then in order to do so, you take a washcloth & roll it up until you can stuff it up/into the drain. to dry the bras, you’ll want to use hangers on clothes line or shower rod or a like a dining room chair.

also in order to have more range, look into like spandex stomach slimmers that also go over the chest. they function like corsets, but look like a-shirts. they can hurt the back like binders do, so i would suggest bras instead of these, but they can be a more low-key way of having some ability to have control over your body & breasts. cis women also use these so basically that’s a trend to follow: if a cis woman does it for basic hygiene then you should be fine when you do it. i’ve thrown my spandex stomach slimmers into a washing machine, and it came out fine. i don’t remember if i thrown them into the dryer, but if you’re worried only keep it in for a few minutes.

if you want to wear like feminine underwear, but want it to be basic, then buy some “granny panties”. they usually come in basic colors, that can be fun. again, family dollar sells some. (at least in my area).

goodwill thrift stores don’t harass trans & gender-non-conforming shoppers. i am not sure of what shops you have around you, but again, save money when possible. also check out target & kohl’s if possible, but they’re more expensive. kohl’s gives coupons to their credit card holders. wearing blouses & dresses will be a big step towards passing.

to cancel erections: flex a large muscle for about 30 seconds or more, like both thighs. If you’re sitting, rest your feet on your toes and push off the ground as if you’re just about to stand up. for me this usually involves like squeezing my thighs near my knees. if you do the wrong muscles (the ones who hold in urine or poop), then you’ll accidentally do kegels which actually prolong erections. therefore, i would suggest practicing this skill in private.

not so much for passing, but for general health: purses, make sure you can fit your entire head in those. never get thin straps (neither width or thickness). if possible get the kind where the connection between the strap & the purse is a hole, because if the strap breaks, then you can possibly replace it with some sort of string, chord, rope, chain.

Gender questioning under the cut. Warning: very fucking long.

Cutting my hair has helped affirm my suspicions a bit, now I want to lay it all out and try to figure this out. Having short hair makes me happy. Looking more like a boy makes me happy.

I have never identified with femininity at all.

I can count on one hand the number of times in my life I have worn make up. Same with the number of times I have worn nail polish. I have never had a skin routine, or a hair routine; I have never used special product on my face or hair. The products I use on my body are as follows: liquid soap when I want to wash my hands, a bar of normal soap to wash my body in the shower, and a basic shampoo in my hair. That’s it. My boyfriend has a more intense skin routine than I. I barely even wash my face, and I have never even used products to get rid of pimples. I also never styled my hair, and barely ever used the hair dryer, always just let it naturally dry and give it a comb through and let it sit how it wants to. Before I cut it, I only ever tied it up in the lab for safety, I barely have the skills to make a proper ponytail. I have never plucked my eyebrows, mostly because they are basically invisible anyway.

I have never, not once in my life, shaved my legs. But because its socially unacceptable for a woman to have hairy legs and I don’t want to be judged, I have never worn anything out other than full length pants. Never any dresses, skirts or shorts. Feel more comfortable in pants anyway. I own 2 main pairs of shoes: my work sneakers, and a pair of crocs for when I go into the garden. I have barely ever worn a proper heeled shoe or boot, nor any flats or sandals or any really feminine shoes, only really on a select few formal occasions. I only own one dress, again for said formal occasions.

For tops, its basically t-shirts. I concede to shave under my arms occasionally to wear these. I have piles and piles of T’s, and loose-fitting jackets, coats and hoodies. I can’t wear proper bras, in fact any bra is uncomfortable for me but especially any with wire. I have the most gentle, soft t-shirt bras which are basically like crop tops, and I still don’t find them fully comfortable. But we will come back to how much I hate my boobs later.

I never wear any jewellery or accessories. I don’t have my ears pierced, even though everyone was doing it in high school and tried to talk me into it I always refused. So, no earrings, no necklaces, no bracelets, no rings, no hair accessories, not even any scarves and hardly ever a pair of gloves. I have never had a purse, always a wallet. Never a handbag, always a messenger bag. Never any fancy lingerie, can barely stand the feel of lace. No bikinis at the beach, full on board-shorts and swim t-shirt.

Right, that’s all the appearance and dress evidences. Now what about other things?

When I was young, I never liked girly things, never wanted to play with girls’ toys, always wanted to do thing that were more considered boys pass-times like video games and the like. I used to hate pink because it was feminine. Though now I have come to like it cause it’s just a cool colour and a learned that colours shouldn’t really have genders. But it still shows that from a young age I was trying to distance myself from the idea of femininity.

I was always more comfortable with my male friends, though many of my friends were girls as well, as I found it hard to make friends so I took what I could get. Now I am pretty much a social recluse, I don’t like going out, just want to stay home and play video games and do other geeky shit. Don’t really like what is considered female audience movies, like romances and rom-coms and alike. I like hard sci-fi the most, some fantasy and horror.

Now let’s talk about body dysphoria.

I’m not sure I have it, at least not in the traditional way. I don’t really think I have been born in the wrong body so much as I don’t think any body would really be right for me. I don’t feel super uncomfortable in the idea/concept of being female. I don’t feel like I’m a male trapped in a female body. Probably because my sense of self is hazy at best. But I feel like being male would be more comfortable for me in the literal sense, as their secondary sex characteristics are less annoying in my opinion, and their body presentation expectations are much more loose.

I don’t look down at my breasts and think ‘there should be a flat chest there because that’s what I should have’. I look down at them and hate them because they are annoying and I want to get rid of them, to make me more comfortable because I hate wearing bras. Though at the same time, I like the idea of having a more male chest, I like the idea of being a male quite a bit, it sounds like a good time. But that doesn’t mean I see myself as mentally male, well a bit maybe. Don’t really see myself as mentally female either. I’m mentally nothing, maybe.

I don’t see my vagina and think ‘there should be a penis here instead’. In fact, I don’t have too much against my vagina, it’s fine except for the fact its broken and painful to have sex with so I guess I would trade it for a penis if I could, but I don’t feel dysphoric about it. What I hate more is my uterus. What has that bitch ever done for me? Pain, that’s all, and I’m not even ever going to use it so its useless and I would like to get rid of it.

My curvy feminine body is okay, sometimes its hard to tell dysphoria apart from just hating your own body image. Like, I can live with it, it would be probably better for me/more comfortable if it was less curvy but its not a huge deal. My voice is fine, it’s sounds quite deep from my perspective but people online can clearly tell I am female so it must be a bit higher pitched than I think it is, but maybe fairly neutral overall. My face is fine, its quite round so quite gender neutral.

I don’t mind people using female pronouns and honorifics for me, that doesn’t really bother me. However, when I made a new account on an online game and set my gender to male and people started using male pronouns for me it made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I don’t think ‘I am male and I need to change my body to reflect this’. I think I wish I was male, and if I could I would like to become male/change my body in some ways to be more masculine or at least more androgynous.

If I was male, I could wear my hairy legs out and no one would care, I could have as much hair as I wanted all over me. If I was male, I wouldn’t be expected to keep my hair long, or to wear makeup, or fashionable clothes. If I was male, I would have no stupid boobs getting in my way and making me uncomfortable, just a nice flat chest. If I was male, I wouldn’t have any stupid periods, or get asked when I’m going to have children. If I was male, I could be the main breadwinner of my relationship without people thinking its weird. My boyfriend would be fine with me being male as he is very bi. I know my family would be supportive, they always are about everything.

If I could magically turn fully male I would in an instant. But if I transition, I know that comes with all sorts of issues. Discrimination being the main one. Would I lose my job? Can a teacher be trans? Would the parents be like oh, I don’t want my child being taught by that fag?

Should I buy a binder and start presenting male over the summer to try it out? Should I go and talk to a doctor/therapist about it? What should I do?

I wonder if Aarika’s mom set up things like that when she was growing up and that is where she gets it from. I know my daughter in law is so creative and sets up the best parties for my grand daughter. I am always so awestruck with what she comes up with for the kids activities and decorations. She also comes up with great costumes. Also on wild hair day at school she put her hair in a ponytail pulled it through a paper plate and made it look like a donut w/sprinkles on her head it was cute

Maybe Aarika did learn from her mother. When I was growing up in the 50′s thru 70′s, being a “homemaker” was a feminine ideal. Now it’s a derogatory slur. It used to define a woman who was far more than a housewife toiling thanklessly to keep her house clean & her family fed. Not every woman has the intelligence, artistic skills or the obsessive drive to create a sacred space for her loved ones. My mother was a lousy housewife & a worse cook. I learned my crafting skills from my father. He taught my eye how to see beauty & his hobby was producing gourmet meals on Saturdays.

And it wasn’t about having money to buy stuff. I literally made our home for my 1st husband while he was establishing his career. We bought a cheap fixer-upper & between modeling jobs, I plastered & painted or wallpapered walls, installed fancy moldings, sanded, stained & polished hardwood floors, tiled the kitchen & bathroom, & sewed curtains w/ matching bedspreads. I bought cheap furniture at junk shops to refinish & learned how to upholster from a Laura Ashley how-to book. I built a dining room table from lumber! My labors did not go unpaid. We bought the house for $35K & 2 years later sold it for $150K! Then we bought a run-down mansion for $55K & I did it all over again w/ a larger budget for renovation & furnishings but still enjoyed DIY.

Being a homemaker is also about cooking as an art form. Eating is more than good tastes & smells. Food needs to be well presented on the plate. It costs nearly nothing to grow herbs on a kitchen window sill & add a sprig of parsley for garnish or mint to a glass of iced tea.

Also a home is made by seasonal decorations that establish family traditions. They don’t have to cost a lot of money either. Wildflowers are free along country roadsides & public forests are full of pine cones, autumn leaves, boughs of fir, & branches w/ holly berries.

Now I return to what we’ve seen about Aarika:The crowning glory of a homemaker is being a well-organized hostess who produces parties to remember. Creating an event for your friends shows how much you love them. Giving an elegant dinner party for your husband’s clients earns $$$. By the 80′s when I had 2 children & was a full-time homemaker, that feminine ideal was eclipsed by career achievements. When I met someone at a business party & told them what I was, I started to get pitying glances. “Only a housewife” was the opinion in their minds. But if they got invited to one of my parties, they would afterwards tell others what a lucky man my husband was. As the potential wife of a very rich man, Aarika can enjoy being an old-fashioned Domestic Goddess. I say more power to her! Calvin is a lucky man.

Day 10 京都

After so much walking and sightseeing the day before, I was expecting today’s activities to be challenging--and I was right.

Today was our trip to 清水寺 (Kiyomizu-Dera), The 月桂冠 (Gekkeikan) sake distillery, and 伏見稲荷神社 (Fushimi Inari shrine). This being a study tour, I feel that over the course of the trip I have learnt many things. One of those things is that no matter how cute your boots are, if you’re planning on walking 25 000 steps in one day, you should wear something else.

Day 9 had absolutely ruined my feet, so rather than stroll or walk around 清水寺　admiring its beauty, taking in the incredible views, and sipping on the purest water in Japan, I hobbled from one sight to the next, racked with fear that I had dislocated my toe. But having just started to recover from what I believe to be the worst cold I’ve ever had, I was determined to keep up with the rest of the group.

Something I found very exciting about 清水寺 was that they were several survey boxes dotted around the shrine where one could write what they wanted to be the ‘漢字 (Kanji) of the year.’ Every year people submit thousands of characters at this shrine, and the most popular entrant is written on a large banner by the head priest on the 12th of December. Eager to show off our 漢字 skills and possibly contribute to the final chosen word, many of us made a submission. Among our group, a very popular option was 食 (food). My submission was 増,

in reference to the increase in temperatures globally (Japan faced another heatwave year), and the increase from 8% to 10% in Japan’s GST a few months ago.

After some free time to walk along the streets fronting the temple, Leigh guided us to nearby 丸山公園 (Maruyama Park), where we had lunch. It was slim pickings here, with most of the group buying hot dogs and chips. I opted for the きつねうどん (Kistune udon). We then walked through 八阪神社 (Yasaka Shrine) in order to take the subway to the 月桂冠 (Gekkeikan) Sake Distillery, where we were given a brief guided tour.

As it turns out, although I shouldn’t have been surprised, the history of 酒 (sake) runs deep in Japan. We were told about the ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ textures that 酒 could possess. 酒 produced in 京都 is known for having a feminine taste, as the water in the area is smooth. 酒 produced in 神戸 (Kobe) is said to have a masculine taste to the ‘hard’ water in the area. The small well outside the entrance to the distillery served as evidence of this feminine water. Taking a sip of it, it genuinely did feel very smooth. The rest of the guided tour explained the convoluted process by which rice is cultivated, polished, washed, stamped on, and fermented in order to create the final 酒 product we know and love. I expected nothing less of a traditional Japanese production system.

The tour concluded with an opportunity to taste test both 酒 and 梅酒 (plum wine) and do a little gift shopping. The 梅酒 was very popular with some of our group, but to me it tasted like cough medicine.

Our next and final stop on this fairly long day of walking was 伏見稲荷神社 (Fushimi Inari Shrine). Despite the sun beginning to set, the shrine was still packed with tourists. But on arrival, I understood why. The Golden Hour light reflecting off the red of the 鳥居 (Torii gates) created a beautiful illuminated effect. As well as the hundreds of gates themselves, I was rather taken by the fox statues just outside the entrance to the 鳥居 walkway. Broden, the JET who joined us for the 京都 leg of the tour, told me that the foxes were 稲荷 (Inari) messengers, and so statues were erected in their honour.

Upon reaching the famed 鳥居 gates, I was shocked once again at the number of tourists still at the site at such a late point in the evening. Not wanted to get stuck in the crowd of photographers and dawdlers, Morgan, Arnold and I snapped a few photos as evidence that we had actually been, then made our way down to the delicious-smelling street stalls. I’d definitely like to come back to this site, not only to make my way through the gates, but also to try some of the stalls out the front. The 焼き鳥 (yakitori) Rui let me try a bit of was so good I almost cried.

Dinner that night was at an 居酒屋 (izakaya), which was very exciting because it felt like a very ‘local’ place to eat. So local, in fact, it didn’t have an English menu (as many places often do), and Oscar’s blue eyes caught the attention of one of the Japanese customers. He was henceforth known to our group as ビューティフル・ボーイ (Beautiful Boy).

Firstly I’d like to say a massive thank you to guys over at ccbeauty.co.uk for sending me the amazing December edition of the box. CC Beauty is a make up and skincare subscription box that mainly features high-end products. The overall RRP of CC Beauty is always outstanding compared to what you pay for it. It is a luxury beauty box full of decadent high end beauty and makeup products each month. The December 2017 edition is truly a special one including an amazing designer brand, I really felt Christmas had come a week early when I unbowed this box. It a total treat and I felt truly spoilt and pampered. You can see my live unboxing here…

GUCCI EYE, Impact longwear eye pencil with sharpener. RRP £28. The first thing I noticed when I picked out this eye pencil was the luxurious packaging, the long black cardboard box was embossed with the Gucci logo all over it which in itself looked expensive and high-end, it also featured the GUCCI name in gold foil embossing, and the contents of the box also in gold foil. This is the kind of packaging you feel guilty throwing away, so much effort has gone into a piece of packaging you are going to be putting in the bin. I received the eye pencil in the shade cocoa, as you can probably guess from the name it is a rich warm chocolate brown shade. This shade is perfect for me to line my lower lash line just under my eyelids. I prefer a brown liner to a black as I wear a strong black wing on my upper eyelid and feel black on the lower lash line as well is too strong, therefore a brown smudged out subtle smokey line is the perfect balance and frames and defines my eye shape perfectly. The liner itself was soft and glided on beautifully, it was a pleasure to use and smudged out wonderfully. The eyeliner featured a blending sponge on one end that worked really well to give a subtle smokey line and to blend out the harsh initial line the liner gives. The eyeliner was supposed to be long wearing and although I can’t say what it would be like on its own as I did use a setting spray, it did last all day and until I washed it off that evening with only a little bit of wear and tear in the inner corner of my eye where it had faded a little and smudge slightly. Other than this it was still perfect. The eye liner also came with a black pencil sharpener featuring the Gucci logo, very handy as you know what us ladies are like, we tend to own ten pencil sharpeners and can never find the right one if we find one at all. This is definitely an item I will be keeping and not gifting to anyone and I believe will become my go to eyeliner. An absolute winner in my eyes.

GUCCI LIP, luxurious pigment rich lipstick. RRP £23. The packaging containing this lipstick again was stunning, the same black embossed box, with the gold leaf detailing, pure luxury, packaging like this sets high-end miles apart from drugstore brands before you even open the box. The lipstick was in the shade 250 dark romance and was a rich burgundy red colour, the pigment was strong it looked almost black before applying. The name of the shade “dark romance” was fitting too as it looked like expensive red wine, Red velvety roses, dark raspberry chocolate truffles. All things romantic, decadent and luxurious. The lipstick was creamy and applied easily like butter. I loved the colour on me as dark reds are my ultimate favourite colour. It was satin finish with a beautiful subtle and sexy shine. It lasted well and only needed reapplying twice throughout the day. It was not transfer proof but more a classic and traditional formula. Another winner for me, especially around this time of the year when I prefer to wear my deeper red coloured lipsticks.

GUCCI Première, Eau de Toilette, 5ml. RRP £5 (based on £31 per 30ml). I really enjoy miniature perfumes, not sample vials but the actual mini versions of the full size bottles, these look really cute and pretty on your vanity and they are a great value way of trying new fragrances without buying the full size version and not liking it. These handy sizes are perfect for holidays and weekends away or just popping in your handbag. The miniature bottle itself was very sweet and cute looking, a tinted glass bottle with a gold lid with the GUCCI name on the lid in the typical première cursive font. The smell was strong and powerful, definitely a statement perfume, the kind of fragrance strangers are going to comment on. Also used regularly it is one of those perfumes that people will smell on others and instantly think of you. The fragrance is elegant and feminine with powerful and vigorous top notes of wood and musk and the feminine undernotes of floral Bergamot and orange blossom. This perfume was released to celebrate “old Hollywood” and debuted at the 2010 Cannes film festival. I think this is the perfect fragrance tribute to the old iconic Hollywood actresses and to celebrate an era of style and sophistication in the film industry years past.

Cargo Cosmetics, land down under palette. RRP £30. This full size palette as you can probably guess by the name has a colour scheme influenced by all things Australian. Think shades related to sun, Sea, Sand, rocks and lush greenery and bush and you can predict the colours featured in this 12 shade palette. The eye shadows are pigmented and good quality, I experienced more fall out when I used them than I would have liked. They applied easily and blended well. The colours were all quite natural and neutral with the addition of a few blues and greens. It’s definitely a palette you could use alone and not need any additional single eye shadows. Opera is a shade that would work well as an all over base colour, joey is a perfect transition shade and the shades rocks and ferry are great crease colours. You then have a good collection of shimmer colours for the lid. Beach is a beautiful champagne shimmer shade perfect to highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the Eyes. Lastly you have two daring blues for a more adventurous look and a forest green, a lovely colour for a subtle pop of colour in your crease and lower lash line for an alternative different smokey eye look. I would really recommend this palette for beginners experimenting with eyeshadow and makeup too as it has a few picture demos of different looks on the box and also the shades are easy to work with and all go well together. The palette also contains a black eyeliner pencil which is good quality and easy to wear and a good quality double ended fluffy eyeshadow brush.

MAKE UP FOREVER, artist plexiglass gloss lip lacquer. RRP £16. This is the only item in the box I’m not overly fussed on, this is totally personal preference though as I have a disliking to lip gloss. I did try this gloss though and my verdict on it is good even if I would not wear it myself. I received the shade 209 which is an almost neon pink, unfortunately bright pinks are the only colour I cannot for the life in me make look good on me, it is the one colour I really don’t suit. The gloss though was very pigment and ultra glossy, almost looked like coloured, polished glass on my lips. It was long wearing but like all glosses it was sticky and transferred onto anything and everything, the reason I personally do not like lip glosses. The applicator distributed it perfectly and evenly and it only took one swipe on each lip to cover well, I would 100% recommend this product to anyone that does like lip gloss as the coverage, colour and shine were all really great. Overall I loved the December edition of CC Beauty and I am looking forward to seeing if they live up to this boxes standards in the future. Each item was good quality, good wearable shades for the majority of people and popular shades this time of the year. The value of the box was overwhelmingly fantastic and amazing compared to the price of the subscription. I loved this box and even though I could never wear the gloss, this is a personal preference and the quality and shade of the gloss would be popular and well suited to the majority of women, as much as I love pink I just cannot make it work for me.

You can of course invest in a specialist cleaning products, just make sure to read the instructions carefully to ensure they are compatible with your rings materials and they’re not going to cause more harm than good. Even if you regularly clean the engagement ring yourself, it’s still recommended to have your ring professionally cleaned once every couple of years. Most of the professional services will polish and buff the morganite as well as the ring mounting, removing any superficial scratches in the process. After a professional clean your ring should look good as new.

Morganite Ring Value

The colour and cut are the two characteristics which having the biggest impact on the value of a morganite gemstone, followed closely by the gems carat size and clarity. A gemstone with a custom cut which works to maximise the stones colour, plus it’s fire and brilliance, will substantially increase the value of the stone.

As an average, a morganite ring made with a gemstone with a custom cut can be found for around the £250 mark, which is for a mid-quality stone. Generally speaking, the paler the morganite hue, the less it’s worth, for example a very pale morganite can be had for much less than £200 a carat. It’s worth noting that less expensive stones are unlikely to increase much in value over the years, but whether or not that’s a consideration when buying an engagement ring is a personal decision. If you’re looking for a gem which is widely considered to be better quality and better coloured, then the highly sought after medium pink morganite stones are recommended. As a rule of thumb, if the pink colour is too light then the gem might looked washed out unless it’s of a decent size, and conversely, if the pink colour is too dark then the gem might look oversaturated with colour.

The cost of a morganite does not exponentially increase in price as the carat weight goes up, as it does with the likes of a diamond. This affordability makes the morganite engagement ring especially appealing for future married couples with a budget to consider.

While it’s true that morganites are an affordable and durable gemstone, shoppers are still advised to be wary and smart when looking to purchase a morganite ring.
