I know this is old but I still see comments on it on Grey's content and I just started rewatching Grey's Anatomy and people act like George was such a great guy and much better than the other guys on the show but... he takes no responsibility for his actions and blames other people, usually women, for his problems, George wasn't that great tbh

summary: every summer, you travel to dahlia's beach to reunite with your mother's closest friend and her son. but this year he unexpectedly brings a friend along. caught in the gentle waves of affection and longing, you find yourself navigating uncharted waters where the boundaries of friendship blur.

notes: this is loosely based on the summer i turned pretty. i just watched the second season and lawwwd i wanted to make a ff soo bad. plus milo and ross have absolutely none anywhere.

You loved Dahlia's beach. It always smelled salty with a hint of expensive barbeque if you were in the city. But near the countryside there was the sweet smell of honeysuckle. That's where you would rather be, where the tall grass met the sandy dunes. The sounds of hooves on pavement and bustle around the farmers market on a hot weekend afternoon.

This summer was no different. Your stomach churned, rumbling in excitement as you neared the beach house. It was huge. Five bedrooms with enough bathrooms. Too many patios surrounding it. Turquoise colored pool with a small waterfall. The house was a blueish gray color with white accents. Calm and minimalistic, much unlike the other grand colorful houses on the street. It sat like a diamond around other stones in a non normal way. The most priceless of them all. Placed directly in front of the beach but not close enough to tourist spots so it was always quiet. It was always such an amazing way to spend the three months in between school. You looked forward to it every year.

But that wasn't all you looked forward to.

Your mom honked as you guys entered the driveway. A wide smile plastered on her face. Your mom seemed to love this place more than she loved you, even if she denied it when you asked. You knew the truth. Summers at the beach house were the only time she got to see her best friend, Camryn.

"Hey!" A voice squealed from the porch. You shuffled out of the car, legs aching after a long 5 hours. As you stretched you were met with Cam, arms spread jumping for joy. Practically knocking you over. They were best friends from high school. Going to college together and even sharing a dorm room. With how they acted every time they met, you were convinced they had separation anxiety. They didn't get to see each other throughout the year. Other than here of course. For they lived states apart, Dahlia's being a quiet beach town that was located in the middle.

Camryn engulfed you in a bear hug first, gushing about how pretty you are. Making you do a spin in your dress. Once she pulled away she did the same to your mom whose high pitched voice could be heard from the beach. As they talked about how ‘different’ each other looked. You watched as they walked inside hand in hand when your eyes met his.

Milo.

He radiantly smiled as he trotted over to you. The classic hands in pockets, ruffled hair, and expensive glasses. It was like he had a glow up every year whether it was him dressing better or maybe getting a bit taller.

"Hi" He cooed embracing you in a tight hug. The smell of his overpriced cologne filled your nose. It reminded you of sugary trees and cool waves. Much like the beach house. He was another reason you loved the beach house so much. Without him you were stuck with two middle aged ladies whose celebrity crush was Liam Neeson and only watched tv shows made by Shonda Rhimes. He was fun. He never made you feel left out or alone. He was everything any girl could wish for. Tall, smart, rich, and incredibly good eye candy.

"Hello, Milo." You smiled as he let you go.

He ran a hand threw his hair looking down at you. Eyes trailing down your body strangely. His expression was unrecognizable. Your face heated up turning your head to avoid his gaze. He touched the bottom of your dress. Yanking the fabric gently.

"This is a little short isn't it?" He questioned eyes meeting yours. Lips curled up in a sly smile. Rolling your eyes you scoffed slapping his hand away. He acted like a big brother sometimes. Especially with your clothes. Every summer complaining about how short your shorts were or how revealing your bathing suit was.

"Oh shut up you do this every-" The sight of someone else on the porch caught your eye. "Who's that?" You questioned raising an eyebrow.

Milo turned around and nodded in acknowledgement as the boy made his way down the stairs. Bleached blond hair slightly overgrown and wide smile on display as he made his way towards you two.

"Y/N this is Ross, Ross Y/N. He's staying the summer with us this year." Ross reached his hand out to you. Clad in silver rings that looked a bit out of your price range. Does Milo have any Middle Class friends? It was unusual. No one ever came to the beach house from back home. It was like a unsaid rule between everyone. Written in big red letters 'No Strangers'. The dads didn't even bother coming even though Milo's paid for it.

"Nice to meet you." He looked you up and down a tongue swiping over his lips. "Milo didn't tell me how pretty you are."

"Dude!" Milo exclaimed punching his shoulder rolling his eyes.

"Thank you." You beamed softening your voice. Milo scoffed walking towards the trunk slightly bumping into Ross. But he didn't seem to mind, hazel eyes still trained on you.

"So where are you fr-" Ross was cut off by a slightly pissed off Milo. "Are you guys serious? C'mon Ross help me with these bags." Ross walked away backwards eyes still focused on you with that addicting smile of his.

"See you inside?" He whispered loud enough for you to hear him.

You didn't respond. Only nodding as you strolled inside.

Are the Bridgerton showrunners going to push the every Bridgerton male is a playboy every season (and the love triangle thing too, don't think I didn't notice that miss Rhimes)? I don't know if the rumors of Colin coming back a rake in S3 are true, but if they are I don't understand the point of having made him a virgin in S1, he was not in the books and if that change wasn't to make both him and Pen virgins then what was the point? To make him seen less responsible in the eyes of Anthony? (and let's not even talk about the fact that to think that not going to brothels or having a mistress is being less responsible is garbage). I know that canonically some of the male leads are rakes, but if they changed the show to make Colin not one then why change that in his season but NOT with Penelope? I mean, they literally alluded in the series that Edmund was a rake when is CANON in the books that he had never done anything before Violet? If it goes like this they'll make Phillip (a man that canonically hasn't slept with anyone in 10 years since that one awful time with his wife) a playboy.

I feel like I went on a rant but I guess it comes from my recent found frustration and growing dislike of the "all male leads have to be playboys" trope in books and series, plus the fact that is not even them just being playboys, is the fact that we're constantly reminded of that. Like, I don't wanna be constantly blasted in the face with the fact that he has slept with half the world population when I'm supposed to be following his love story with this one person. It's not that the leads have to be virgins (although I'll be honest, would love more of this trope), is that I don't see the necessity of reminding the audience all the time of what is the ginormous body count of this supposed sex god, like....okay, what does it matter to his romance with the one he's gonna end up with? Do you need to focus on his past and how he sleep with this one and that one so much while you're trying to sell a romance with another person to me?

anyway, sorry for the rant but I spiraled this evening and this is the best place to let go of my thoughts.

Some of them I've slide into fics like TK is good at math, and Carlos can cook, but he's a terrible baker (but TK can bake), Gwyn likes peach jam.

Other ones

Carlos likes the soapy Shonda Rhimes shows. TK keeps half-watching Grey's Anatomy with him and going, 'okay, but that's not how that works', and 'wait, they killed another doctor? Why does anyone want to work at this hospital', and Carlos keeps shushing him going 'do I interrupt when you want to watch Law and Order?" and TK's giving him an outraged look, 'because yes, yes, you absolutely do'

Carlos is a cat person. I will die on this hill. That man deserves a cat to pet. (I mean, he has TK, but also an actual fuzzy cat)

Carlos has gotten a lot closer with his sister's kids since TK - and TK doesn't realize this, because being with TK is the first time that Carlos has let himself relax around his family enough to be silly and goofy with the kids.

TK is actually pretty neat - whether by nature or nurture, but he grew up with Owen and Gwyn and he works in a firehouse, he puts his things away and he does the dishes. He does not habitually make the bed unless someone asks him to (because what's the point? you're just going to get back into it), but he doesn't leave wet towels on the floor, or leave his things all over the place. I don't think Carlos is constantly tidying up after him.

Carlos never really played with sex toys until TK, because he was always a little bit ashamed of what he wanted/needed. TK's given him space to explore and try things without judgement. TK's done a lot more, moved in with a box of toys and they've bought more together.

Interview with People (2023)

Jonathan Bailey could have gone in any direction after his runaway success as the male romantic lead in Bridgerton'ssecond season.

But choosing to play a gay man opposite Matt Bomer in Showtime's Fellow Travelers, another romantic period drama — this one spanning the 1950s Joseph McCarthy communist trials to the 1980s AIDS crisis — was a "no-brainer" for the British actor.

"I had looked for these gay stories, a sweeping gay love story, and I hadn't really seen them," Bailey, 35, tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "This ticked every single box, and it's something I know I'll be proud of for the rest of my career."

Bailey first grabbed the attention of TV viewers with his breakthrough performance as Anthony Bridgerton, the proud, surly viscount on Shonda Rhimes's sudsy Regency-era drama Bridgerton.

Starring in one of Netflix's most popular shows has been transformative for Bailey, who previously had mostly divided his time between British TV and theater roles.

"Having always waited for auditions and projects to come, I just have that footing now to have choices, which is incredible and so special, because it's not a very common thing," he says. "I have a responsibility therefore not to waste that."

Raised in Benson, England by his father Stuart, a managing director at a honey supplier, and his mother Carole, who worked several jobs to help make ends meet and pay for dance and music lessons for her son and his three older sisters, Bailey found school intimidating.

The actor was 11 when he realized he might be gay, and he sought refuge in his family, the theater and his best friend.

"It's a pretty common story that school is terrifying, especially in a world where people don't understand or the teachers and children don't understand LGBTQ+ identities and experiences," he shares. "But the superpower of being on the outside looking in means that when you're older, you are drawn to storytelling and creatives who are singular and exciting. And I think queer people have a real strength to them, which could be celebrated."

Fellow Travelers certainly celebrates the LGBTQ+ community through its ambitious, decades-long narrative and queer stars. The biggest, most exciting draw for Bailey was his character Tim Laughlin's "expansive arc," evolving from a closeted political staffer in the 1950s to an out-and-proud activist in the 1980s.

"It's explored more, his journey and the expanse of it, more than any other character," Bailey says. "But I think, with Tim, he's constantly searching within himself. He's constantly torn between his identity, the truth about his identity and the stories that he's been told, whether it be by religion, by the government, by his parents or society. So it's thrilling to be able to constantly be torn between two places."

Working alongside Bomer, 46, helped Bailey bring Fellow Travelers to life.

Bomer, who also served as an executive producer on Fellow Travelers, was "a total joy" to work with, recalls Bailey, who meshed well with the White Collar actor right from the start — from their Zoom screen test to their "pregame coffee" five days before they began shooting.

"We both had quite a lot of experience in our careers of intimacy and portraying intimacy, but there's also just so much we've experienced as gay men, as well. So naturally, we had a lot to explore," he says, adding, "To honor the canon of gay storytelling is totally what I set out to do. So if it [Fellow Travelers] is 'up there,' then I'm really happy."

It's another day of a quick dinner while updating my studyblr before I get ready for ballet and head out for dance. I feel like there is a lot going on this week. A look at my upcoming week: robotics course tomorrow, impromptu Girl Scouts meeting on Thursday for World Thinking Day (it's a homeschool troop, so we can meet during regular school hours for special meetings), I have a history project due on Saturday along with another cookie booth, plus I'm really amping up with my piano studies now to prepare for my practical and theory exams in May. I'm going to try to fit another hour of practice somewhere if I can, even if it is only one or two extra hours a week.

Summary: Daveed figures out who’s leaving crumbs in their bed

Requested: No, another Drabble that was on my mind. I've had this WIP since Emmy and Daveed’s AD House Tour, which is still my favorite house tour. Also, this is fitting given the recent news of Daveed and Emmy announcing they’re having a baby!!! Enjoy!

Word Count: 752

Daveed huffed as he wiped the cookie crumbs off the bed, he’s been meaning to talk to you about it. Daniel must be leaving crumbs behind after he’s in their room. There’s always seems to be a trail of crumbs on his side of the bed when he gets back home from work.  The only ones home right now are you and Daniel, with you and Daveed having just moved from New York to LA, the two of you were still looking for a preschool for Daniel during that time he stayed home with you.

You shuffled into the bedroom, having just entered your ninth month of pregnancy; you were taking a break from working after just ending your run with Hadestown as Persephone three months ago. Now that you and Daveed made the move to LA you were looking to get into more screen acting roles.

“Who keeps leaving these crumbs?”

“Huh, crumbs?”

“There’s always crumbs on my side of the bed. I’m not mad it’s just every day.”

“It must be Daniel; he likes to sit on your side when you’re gone.”

You groaned as you climbed into the king-sized bed.

“Oh, my bad, babe.” Daveed grabbed your hand and helped you onto the bed.

“It’s fine,” You huffed out of breath.

“I’m so ready for this baby to come out. I’m so tired, you know I had to sit down on the steps midway. My feet are so swollen. I can’t fit any of my shoes.” You mumbled Daveed smirked as he moved to the end of the bed and started to massage your feet.

“I can get you new shoes.”

“That’s not the problem, with Daniel I barely gained any weight with this one I look like a—" You moaned aloud when Daveed massaged a pressure point on your foot.

“Feel good?”

“Mhmm,”

“Let me put one in my mouth.” Daveed joked, you giggled and tried pulling your feet away.

“Stop! We’re gonna wake up Daniel!” The two of you talked about your day. Daveed filled you in Season 3 of Blindspotting and the switch from STARZ to Apple TV. You talked about your meeting with Shonda Rhimes, there’s been talks of you joining Bridgerton for the next season. Daveed kept messaging your feet until he heard a soft snore. He tucked you into the bed and kissed your forehead before going to sleep himself.

Daveed heard chewing and assumed it was their new puppy Rocky, but he knew for sure that he put Rocky in his cage for the night. He sat up to inspect and accidentally leaned on to a bag of Toll House cookies on the bed.

“Babe!” You froze mid bite hoping that Daveed was talking in his sleep.

“Babe, I see you. You the one eating cookies in bed?”

“Hmm?”

“Hmm, you heard me. You lied on your own son.” You sighed as you sat up, the cookie still in your mouth.

“I can’t help it; your baby has me craving sweets. I’ve never had a sweet tooth before.”

“My baby?”

“Yes, your baby that you put in me.”

“Oh, the one you begged me to. ‘Leave it in Daveed! I want it! I want it!’” Daveed said jokingly mocking you.

“Be quiet!” You said slapping your husband on the chest. “I usually sit on your side because I miss you.”

“Aww!” Daveed teased pulling you in his arms.

“See, this is why I didn’t want to tell you. Let me go.”

“No, it’s sweet.” Daveed landed a wet kiss on your forehead making you groan aloud.

“I’ll make sure to get rid of my evidence. Next time.”

“Hmm, can I at least get a cookie?”

“Hell no, these are mine.”

You sat in Daveed’s embrace, listening to his heartbeat. Sitting in a content silence.

“What if she’s still breech?” You asked softly, at your last appointment, the doctor was worried that your baby hasn’t rotated yet. Daveed sighed heavily and held you closer wanting nothing more than to ease your mind of that possibility.

“If she’s still breech, then we have our other plan. We’ll do the C-Section and have a healthy baby girl. If not then, we have our original birth plan and have a healthy baby girl. Either way, we’ll be delivering a healthy baby girl. Okay?”

“Okay.” Daveed kissed the top of your head you sighed contently, ready to fall asleep.

“Let me put just one toe in my mouth.”

“Daveed, shut the fuck up and go to sleep.”

A Queen Charlotte Fan Post

Warning long post ahead with some minor spoilers

Okay so everyone needs to watch this show now. It's like literally my kryptonite. This show has:

A devastatingly charming and handsome king who excels at witty banter and truly wants the best for his people:

A clever, loyal and fiercely protective and bad ass queen who is immensely likeable and you feel all her emotions with her ranging from her intense joy upon realizing that she actually likes the man she's about to marry to her desperate need for her family to continue the royal bloodline which comes across in sardonic and hilarious ways to her piercing and soul crushing loneliness as a ruler who must set herself apart from everyone else :

An incredible interracial romance based on a marriage of convenience with a swoon worthy meet cute where the couple can't deny their feelings for each other, support each other and protect each other:

It also dives more into Lady Danbury's back story as well and she is another character with wit, intelligence, compassion, ambition and resilience and undeniable beauty. Her friendship with Queen Charlotte is a wonderful thing to watch. Yay for women supporting each other:

Okay now I have to go back to watching this show. Seriously it is incredible. Shonda Rhimes has struck gold once again.

Regarding Keke Palmer and the colorism conversation…

I feel like people are never entirely honest with themselves about how colorism functions not just in Hollywood, but in all facets of life in the US.

Keke Palmer has had an objectively successful career with a VERY impressive resume to her name.

And Zendaya is an objectively talented actress who is deserving of all of her accolades.

But to me, the conversation around colorism, like with racism, has never been about capability or achievement. It’s about opportunity. Which individuals among us are given the opportunity, the visibility, the push that will send them to bigger heights, regardless of talent?

It’s about how skin color and other physical features shape the type of treatment we receive in society. Everything from length of prison sentences to experiences in the dating market are shaped by colorism. There are several studies that prove this and provide deeper context, just look it up.

And I don’t say this to make anyone feel bad or push a cynical narrative about the possibilities available for darker skinned people, but I seriously want us to be real and honest about the society we live in and how shit plays out.

There’s a reason Viola Davis was called “less classically beautiful” while Halle Berry was once named People’s Most Beautiful Woman.

Again, these are both gorgeous, talented Black women who have given us so much in their careers. Who have both had to face obstacles due the fact of their Blackness. But let’s be honest, colorism & featurism have also had a hand in shaping the trajectories of their careers and the type of opportunities/roles they received.

Viola Davis has spoken at length in several interviews about how transformative an opportunity like HTGAWM was for her. And mind you, it was an opportunity created by another Black woman, our beloved Ms. Shonda Rhimes.

Over the last few years, we’ve seen Keke Palmer’s popularity and recognition grow beyond the Black community due to the wonderful memes and pop culture moments she has given us, often during her personal interviews and hosting gigs.

And Nope, is her first big, mainstream, feature role in her adulthood. An opportunity created for her by another beloved Black creative, Jordan Peele.

The reason I’m emphasizing opportunity and the creation of opportunity is because I already know of three other Black creatives at the decision making level who have said they had to fight for the presence of their dark skinned characters.

Mara Brock Akil did a panel where she said she had to fight for Jill Marie Jones’ place on Girlfriends.

Gina Prince Blythewood said she had to call out her producers after several attempts to diminish Kiki Layne’s character in The Old Guard.

Chris Rock said he had to fight for Tichina Arnold to play his mother on Everybody Hates Chris. A role, which I might add, made her wildly famous in Brazil for being one of the few positive representations of dark skinned Black women in Brazilian television.

In all of these examples, it is Black creatives in decision making roles making opportunities for their dark-skinned talent specifically.

It’s not about Jill Marie Jones, Tichina Arnold, or Kiki Layne being less talented, or less accomplished, or less personally satisfied with their career trajectories. It’s about fewer opportunities being there because mainstream Hollywood still has a paper bag test for Black women.

It’s because the Black actresses often deemed palatable enough to sell to/pull in mainstream audiences often look like Halle Berry or, in this conversation, Zendaya. Who is both fair skinned and modelesque in stature. Zendaya herself has commented on being Hollywood’s “acceptable Black girl.”

It’s not a coincidence, as someone on twitter pointed out, that Zendaya has 149 million followers while Keke has just reached 11 million. That’s the difference in their mainstream popularity. That is what is influencing the opportunities that come to them.

Because let’s also get into how casting directors are also checking the social media stats of their actors nowadays. Bigger engagement on social media means bigger potential interest from audiences. And we should already know by now how colorism and featurism works for Black people on social media. We should all know that, right?

Acknowledging these things and having these conversations, does nothing to take away from the talents or achievements of any of these actors. Yet people always seem to act like it does, which is why people get defensive, and colorism conversation never actually goes anywhere.

Two things can be true at once. Zendaya is an objectively talented actress who has an incredibly promising career ahead of her. And she has also likely benefitted from colorism and featurism in her career trajectory.

Keke Palmer is an incredibly talented entertainer with a LONG and enviable resume. And #Nope is her breakout leading role in a mainstream blockbuster as an adult, and colorism/anti-Blackness may be a reason why this opportunity came to her later in her career by comparison.

If we can’t be honest about colorism and how it works, then we can’t call it out when we see it happen, we can’t hold folks accountable and nothing will ever change.

Colorism, like racism, like all -isms, is always happening, so there will never be a time where we shouldn’t talk about it. Where it isn’t at least a possible factor at play. And these discussions don’t have to mean that we’re putting anyone down or pitting anyone against each other.

It’s about knowing better so that we can do better.

Hey i love all the ghost warriors so i'm giving the main trio backstories.

In order to make these backstories you need to remember all ghosts were either disgraced in battle, Or they offended the FSM.

Next: Soul Archer

(Sidenote: i dont really know what disgraced in battle means, but i feel like that's deserting the army, or committing serious war crimes depending on the time period, government, and army.)

Alright im not bullpointing these, so here we go.

First off, lets just act like their used to be another bigger village to jumonikai, and that's where Archer lived. Also, i assume that's an alias so lets give archer a name............Arthur. Because it rhimes. Of course it doesn't really come up, but yeah.

So, this larger village is getting most of their labor and resources off of jumonikai. Jumonikai isn't gonna have it, so they start a war with this massive town.

Arthur joins the army in the town at about 20-25 take your pick. His family was starving due to the lack of resources from jumonikai, so he decided to join with his archery skills.

With the army being extreamly underdeveloped in the ways of training and such (since this is one of its first wars), He instantly became one of the top archers, but also a friend to the younger soldiers. Jokingly, the younger ones would call him 'papa archer' while at camp, and he'd laugh it off.

During one particular battle, the bloodiest in the war yet, he managed to take out over 100 of jumonikai's soldiers, earning him the title 'soul archer' due to how many he had killed.

Exept...About 3 months later, the army planned a direct attack on the village. Arthur thought the other soldiers knew what a attack on a village intailed...Do not hurt the innocents.

Well. He was wrong.

When the attack happened, Soldiers went absolutely ham, destroying houses and killing the mothers of innocent young children. Some, even killing the surviving young. Soul archer, appauled by his comrads, began to activley rescue and save children on sight. betraying his army by killing off thoes who tried to murder the innocents, and letting the innocents escape.

Though, before the battle was over, Soul archer was struck down by a fellow comrad in the age range of his 40's, and sent to the cursed realm for the "war crimes" he commited in his army.

Despite the fact he was only saving those who couldn't protect themself.

In his death, he connected with the other ghost warriors during a certain period of time. He has a more comrad connection with Ghoultar and Wrayth, and a more sibling like connection with Bansha. Despite this, Soul archer and Bansha are mostly in charge of making sure that Morro isn't seriously injured or sacrificed in the cursed realm, and they are in fact very sucsessful.

CHARLES VANE SHOOTS BLANKS? I mean, I realize that it takes Shonda Rhimes (i.e. a woman producer) to get really into the nitty gritty of pullout game etc for birth control, for one, and for another, Jack Rackham has textually mocked other men for not using condoms where appropriate but - we were shown a LOT of Charles and Eleanor and they never, not once, took the time for all that.
