if yall go into the inboxes of random jewish folks and ask for their opinions on the palestine/israel conflict just because they’re jewish, fuck you. genuinely, fuck you. stop doing that. you aren’t supporting palestinians by harassing random jewish folks on the internet, you’re just being an antisemitic asshole. y’all are doing the exact same thing as assholes who would go up to random muslim folks after 9/11 and ask them their thoughts on the taliban. it’s fucking gross. if you actually care about victims of the war, donate to charities or funds. share posts and information about the situation. don’t fucking harass jewish people.

we do not talk enough about how you get hit front and back by being a jew and supporting Palestine. For a recipe that i want to make during Shabbat I have to scroll through a jewish recipe blog and cringe at the I Stand With Israel posts and then go back.
so a bunch of jewish spaces aren't safe anymore or are landmines. then you're forced to go someplace else. then there's tumblr with the people who think Jews=Zionist.
like oh, you're jewish? they immediately think you support the idf or something and praise genocide or something. your family barely survived a genocide that wasn't even like more than three generations ago and its being used as some sort of crutch to israel's moral defense when israel does NOT give a fuck about holocaust survivors at all except for their pr...
like damn bro im just trying to live my life and cook normally. Palestine has my entire heart. but like the pipeline from Palestine advocacy to accidental antisemitism to purposeful antisemitism is so 😭😭. man. i just wanna say guys jewish people aren't your enemies. the goal is to stop genocide not make the nazis proud of you or something

On Calling Out Antisemitism... in the Crossword
So I like to do crosswords. It's fun, sometimes I learn random facts, it exercises my brain, and that jolt of satisfaction when I figure out the gimmick brightens my day. I usually do it on the Washington Post, which is the same as the LA Times, mainly because it's free (though these days I pay for the WP in large part because I like Alexandra Petri's pieces, but I digress.)
So there I am, working on the Sunday crossword at work on a quiet Monday morning, and the clue is "sanctimonious sort." Could be many things, I skip it and continue. Slowly, as I get some of the crosses, I say to myself, "surely this isn't going to be 'pharisee'. I'm gonna be so mad if the answer is 'pharisee.'"
The answer was Pharisee.
If you don't know why that's a problem, in brief: The Pharisees were the precursors to modern Rabbinic Judaism, and that word has been used by those enacting violence upon us for centuries-- throughout blood libels, Inquisition, crusades, expulsions, etc. When "pharisee" means "sanctimonious, hypocritical, self-righteous, etc." and "pharisee" also means "Jew" even of the historic variety, it tends to be extremely bad news for the actual living Jews of whatever era it is.
So I wrote the editors of the LA Times and the Washington Post, and I said so. I told them about the history of the term. I told them that at a time when antisemitism across the United States is rising alarmingly, it is, at best, deeply irresponsible of the newspapers to allow this insidious conflation of Judaism with moral corruption and hypocrisy to appear in what ought to be a light-hearted game.
And you know what? I got a response from the LA Times within hours apologizing for the harm and saying they'd reached out to the crossword writing company to discuss it. I got a response from the acquisitions editor, who had spoken with the crossword editor, conveying their sincere apologies, saying that they were unaware of the antisemitic implications of the term, and they would never intentionally cause harm. They thanked me for bringing it to their attention, and also thanked me for my suggestion of an alternate clue ("Contemporary of Jesus").
We on Jumblr and in the Jewish community offline have spent so much time talking our throats hoarse and our typing fingers sore about the harms of antisemitism, especially since October 7. I know many of us are feeling frustrated, burnt out, and hopeless. We start to wonder what the point is, when none of it seems to be making a dent. I almost didn't send that email. I almost let it go. I let myself be distracted by work, forgot about it for a week or so until something reminded me and I got angry all over again, and then I sent off an email that I expected to be buried in the inbox to maybe get a response in a month or so, because even if it never got read, at least I knew I had written it. But it did get read, and it got shared with the relevant people, and they cared.
Sometimes people listen. Sometimes they learn. Sometimes, all it takes is one person saying "hey, this hurt me."
I'm taking the win today.

Posting this in English is probably a mistake but im begging goyim to stop using term zionism. Zionism is a Jewish movement based on Jewish values, and you guys hijacked the term and decided it means that every zionist is supporting genocide against Palestinians. Some definitely are, dont get me wrong, bad people exist everywhere. But can yall please fucking stop acting like you own our terminology. Zionism does not mean what you think it does and there are many different ways to be a zionist. Many zionists believe in the two state solution. Many zionists want peace. Many zionists are anti apartheid. Im a Zionist. I am anti genocide, anti islamaphobia, anti Israeli government, anti occupation, pro two state solution. I was raised by a Zionist rabbi (my dad) to believe everyone deserve peace and basic human respect, no matter if they are Israeli jews, Israeli arabs or Palestinians. You don't get to decide for Jewish people what a Jewish word means. You guys took a Jewish term and made it into an antisemitic slur.

you can be both pro-Israel and pro-Palestine, just sayin'
edit:
Tumblr media
fucking read the tags before you reblog a Hamas apologist saying "you can't be both pro the oppressor and pro the oppressed". I'm talking about the countries, not their governments.

Tired of the antisemitic caricatures in Minecraft?
It's well known the villagers, illagers, and witches in Minecraft are stuck with an incredibly antisemitic design that despite hope, will probably never be changed. I've looked for a resource pack that only changed those elements (keeping the base game look), and was non-optifine friendly, but found none, so I made my own.
So I introduce Antisemitism Begone!
(Version 1.19 but should work for all versions that include the redesigned villagers) It's far from a perfect solution, but it satisfies my main personal annoyances (I am Jewish myself), and I'm certainly open to any improvements that can be made.
Unfortunately, there's many things I wish I could change but am unsure how (such as re-naming the golems to constructs, or changing how the Ominous Banner looks), but my knowledge only goes so far, and I'm pretty clueless when it comes to these things. So for now it's only visual elements that are changed. If I figure out how to do these things in the future I will certainly update it.
(Edit as of 10/9/22) I have figured out how to change the name from Golems to Constructs. Currently supported languages are English (US/UK), Spanish (Spain/Mexico) and German. (Edit as of 2/9/2023) French (France/Canada) is now a supported language. (Thank you for @bouillefriend here on Tumblr for the translation help!) (Edit as of 4/23/2023) Filipino/Tagalog is now a supported language. Minor fixes to all languages. Credit to @ascelhire for both, as well as the bedrock port.
Because we now have a Bedrock Port!
Below the Read More are Images of changes (ID in alt text) and a list of changes made.

It’s almost Purim, so it’s time to share this 1845 article about two Jewish drag kings/crossdressers/trans men. I love these two and I want to be their best friend.
Tumblr media
I have no idea why Purim is referred to as the ‘Ram’s Head Festival’; it’s not named but I’m 99% sure this is about Purim based on the date and the description (the masks, and the long-established tradition of crossdressing on Purim). Maybe they got it confused with Rosh Hashanah and it’s an oblique reference to a shofar?
Absolutely incredible use of the passive voice: ‘During their scuffle with the policemen, the fair daughters of Israel were relieved of their gold bracelets and several articles of rich jewellery.’ Relieved by whom? Who can say? I’m very proud of these funky fresh boys for beating the shit out of at least one cop.

The amount of mask-off antisemitism coming out around the Kanye West and Kyrie Irving situations is genuinely making me feel sick and I’m not even Jewish. Jewish followers/people reading this post, I’m so fucking sorry, y’all don’t deserve this shit. I wish people would finally leave you the fuck alone.
If you’re trying to defend Kanye or whatever by saying “well maybe he has a point about the Jews,” genuinely go fuck yourself to the deepest pits of hell.

PSA: TERMINOLOGY FOR WGA/SAG-AFTRA STRIKES
Friendly reminder that "Hollywood elites" is an antisemetic dogwhistle for Jews/Jewish people!
For those unaware, a dogwhistle is like a term with a double meaning. A sneaky way of bringing racist/homophobic/antisemetic and otherwise bigoted language into the mainstream. Do not let them do this! Refer to these CEOs by name, or as just that. CEOs, corporate execs, etc.
Anyone who thinks this is too much to ask, kindly block me and I will do the same! I have no interest interacting with antisemites, nor those willing to spread their language.

Seen a couple people not knowing this so as a Jew I thought I’d clarify:
While it is also the name of the country, Israel is a word used to describe the Jewish people. It was Jacob’s name and the Jews are known as the people of Israel. The country didn’t exist before 1948 and any mention of Israel in the Torah or in prayers is not about it.
Am Yisrael Chai especially doesn’t mean the country it means the people of Israel live, meaning the Jewish People will survive its not in support of genocide and if it’s being used as such it’s a misunderstanding of the phrase.
On top of this before it was on the flag, the Star of David has always been a Jewish symbol. Before it was a national language, Hebrew was the language of the Torah. Please don’t confuse Jewish symbols with symbols of the nation of Israel.

Hi! This is vile.
Only the antizionist holocaust survivors are your heroes? So the ones who are too traumatized to go to their country of origin don't deserve your sympathy? If a victim of a pogrom feels safe in Israel, you will send them death threats? You, a random goy with no personal connection to our generational trauma, decided to be enough of a degenerate to choose which genocide survivor is allowed to speak out loud how they lived their life after losing their entire family?
This is fucking horrendous. This shouldn't be fucking normal. Any person who genuinely thinks likes this deserves their blog terminated. It's not like they have anything to offer.

Look, if you call people antisemetic for supporting Palestine, they are also allowed to call you Islamophobic and colonizer-apologists for supporting Isreal. If you think it doesn't make sense, stop doing it.

If your protest includes chants like “long live intifada” or “intifada revolution” - just stop. You are proving our point.
You might as well just come out and say “we’re okay with violence and death as long as it only affects Jews”.
