Jojo Golden Wind and DID Representation
I think about Diavolo and Doppio quite LITERALLY every single day, but I also have a lot of thoughts specifically about their plurality. I was talking about this on Ponytown earlier in a big group in the Jojo area, but as a system myself there's a lot I have to say about them in terms of their DID. SO that's what this post is for! First of all, I like to think they would've named their system the Crimson System due to King Crimson. I know in canon they didn't have a system name, especially bc Doppio was entirely unaware of their systemhood, but again these are just my own thoughts.
Also, they likely have DID as opposed to OSDD. In DID there's far more barriers between alters which leads to memory loss and dissociative amnesia, while in OSDD while there definitely can be elements of memory loss and dissociative amnesia, there's definitely a significantly lesser amount of it and there's not as many barriers between alters. Given that Diavolo was able to hide their own plurality from Doppio entirely for years and years has me convinced that they have DID and not OSDD. However, keep in mind that both are covert disorders and it's entirely possible to live with either dissassociative disorder and not know it. For example, we (Arcade System) likely developed DID somewhere around the ages of 7-9 (We're not entirely sure when it was, everything from that time is very blurry because of the trauma and amnesia) and we didn't even consider that we had a dissassociative disorder until we were 18. But considering that Diavolo was fully aware while Doppio wasn't, I'm inclined to believe that they have DID because that would be very indicitive of a strong barrier between them.
Anyway, I think that Doppio was the host! I know that Diavolo was the Boss of Passione, but in order to keep that role secured he needed to be able to go into hiding and we see in canon that he uses headspace to do this. Because of this, Doppio fronts far more often and Diavolo only ever switches with him when they're in danger or if he needs to make an appearance for mafia duties. As for Diavolo's role(s), I think that he's likely a protector (Trying to protect the system from harm by keeping their identity hidden and protected, using the mafia as a means to gain power and loyalty from people who have also sworn to protect them. In controlling Italy through Passione, he also controls who knows his identity and can dissuade people from approaching him through fear), gatekeeper (has access to all of Doppio's memories in addition to his own while also blocking off all of his own memories from Doppio (I would even say that further proof of this is the fact that Doppio can only use his own stand (Epitaph) while Diavolo can harness both his (King Crimson) and Doppio's abilities), can control who is fronting, can force switch Doppio out when needed), and a trauma holder (Doppio doesn't seem to have the same goal of hiding their identity and his only goal is following Diavolo, implying that he doesn't have memories of the trauma that caused their initial split and made Diavolo so afraid of being known).
As for their initial split, AKA the traumatic event that caused them to develop DID in the first place, here are my thoughts. I think that Doppio as an alter was the one born into their body, and Diavolo formed later because of something that happened in their childhood. As for what this was, I don't know for sure but I have a vague idea. It's said that "Solido Naso" was a fairly normal boy for most of his life but that he did have a bit of a violent side. I've seen people say that this "dark side" was Diavolo but, counterpoint, Doppio himself is also violent! We see in his fight with Risotto that while he tends to be more timid and nonconfrontational at first that he quickly becomes angry and violent all on his own- without switching with Diavolo. Diavolo is talking to him, yes, but his actions and feelings are all his own and we see him in a fit of rage and bloodlust in trying to kill Risotto. Jojo fandom needs to stop babying Doppio, he's just as violent and angry and dark as Diavolo is, it just takes him longer to get there and he only does so when backed into a corner. So, I do think that these outbursts from when they were younger really were just Doppio being young and learning to handle his anger and violence. I also think he has anger issues, but that's not for this post.
I think the time when Diavolo forms is when they sought out their mother and tried to learn about their own past. Something must've happened during that that severely traumatized them and put them under a lot of stress, not just once but multiple times as DID and OSDD aren't developed from a singular traumatic event. A person only develops these disorders from repeated and consistent trauma at an early age when the brain hasn't fully formed yet, hence why our mental and emotional state is split into different alters; to protect ourselves from the trauma, our brain sets barriers between each piece of us. Whatever it was caused so much trauma and pain that Diavolo formed as a protector and trauma holder so that Doppio wouldn't have to remember what happened and so he could protect the both of them from it ever happening again- including attacking their mother and burying her alive under the garage so that she wouldn't reveal their past to anyone else and also because she's part of that past. And when their adoptive father finds out about this, he also has to be taken care of. Because there would always be a risk of other people finding out about them and their background, Diavolo took it upon himself to burn their entire hometown down and fake their death. I personally believe that "Solido Naso" was the name their adoptive father gave them and what they were known as legally, so obviously when they were proclaimed dead it was under the name "Solido Naso." That way, they could live as "Diavolo" and "Vinegar Doppio" and be completely nonexistant to the law in Italy. They could fly completely under the radar just like Diavolo wanted.
In terms of how I think they were written and handled in canon, I do not speak for all systems when I say this. These are all my own thoughts and opinions as a system and I am not some kind of representative for the plural community as a whole. But, I think they were written really well! I know people probably use the arguement that it's a bit fishy that out of all the characters, the villain is the only character with DID and especially that they seem to fit into the "Good Alter vs Evil Alter" stereotype, but here's why I don't think this applies.
Yes, Diavolo and Doppio are the villains of Part 5 but I don't feel like Araki made their plurality the reason for their villainy. In the "Good Alter vs Evil Alter" trope, the whole basis for it is that the quote-unquote "Evil Alter" is evil for no reason. It's used as a scapegoat for their malice, that they're simply just evil as an alter with no real motivation. While it can definitely be argued that Diavolo as an alter is entirely malicious, I think this can be explained by him being a protector. I even considered him being a persecutor- especially because the ways in which he protects the system are definitely harmful- but I think persecutors are defined by wanting to help the system in unconventional ways that ultimately hurts the system. Once I thought about it a bit more, Diavolo's methods of protection harm others and not the actual system. Granted, it harmed a lot of people, but not the system. He does have motivations other than just being evil for the sake of it.
Secondly, as I said before, I don't think Doppio could be considered a "Good Alter" in the sense of the Good and Evil balance. Yes, he's considerably a lot softer and less threatening at first glance but he's also incredibly violent and destructive all on his own. I think the only way you could interpret them as "Good Alter and Evil Alter" is if you take a single look at them and never looked back.
And then in terms of them being a system and also being the villains of Part 5, I think Araki handled them really well!! Their plurality is not the focus or reason for their villainy, and even if they weren't a system and were completely two different singlets they would both still be villains! Diavolo's motivations for being the main antagonist are that he want's to remain anonymous and doesn't want people to know about his past. Doppio's motivations for being a more minor villain is that he wants to help Diavolo in his goal. Their plurality, while it plays a part in their motivations since it helps Diavolo hide his identity, is not the source of their antagonism. They would both still be villains if they weren't a system! Not only that, but their systemhood is handled with care. It's clear that Araki did his research, especially treating Diavolo and Doppio as seperate individuals with seperate souls and their own stands! I really appreciated how he actually had Polnareff explain DID so that people wouldn't be confused, and he did so in a way that made it clear that dissassociative disorders aren't inherently bad or evil and that it stems from childhood trauma! I do have a slight problem with the fact that he referred to it as MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder), which is an outdated term but I also know that Part 5 was written in a time where MPD was still the standard and often-used term for it. But the fact that their DID itself isn't demonized and it's the characters themselves being shown as villains that I think was done very well! Shoutout to @endless-hourglass for bringing up some topics in a reblog that I want to add onto! Touching more on Doppio being just as dark as Diavolo and him not being the "Good Alter," he completely could've not been in the mafia! In fact, I think Diavolo probably would have further benefitted from Doppio not being affiliated with the organization at all! It would've meant he could 100% hide without fail while Doppio was fronting since while he was the Don of Passione, Doppio would be completely untied to it all. It would've made a perfect cover story. BUT NO!!! Instead, Doppio CHOSE to be part of the mafia, to be Diavolo's right hand! He didn't have to at all, ESPECIALLY since he was unaware of their plurality! He viewed Diavolo as a seperate person entirely with his own body and, through that lens, he absolutely would've had his own choice, but he didn't! He followed Diavolo into Passione regardless, AND THAT WAS HIS OWN DECISION TO MAKE!!!! Another thing I wanted to add onto touches a bit on the whole theory/implication of Diavolo being a demon/the Actual Devil possessing him when he fronts is that 1) Nonhuman alters totally exist. One of our own previous hosts was a nonhuman alter, and our FF is a colony of plankton just like in Stone Ocean. And 2) Diavolo and Doppio's adoptive father was a priest. Do I think that there was something legitimately biblical and supernatural happening and that Diavolo is a literal demon or Satan himself? No, not really. Do I think that it's entirely possible that in their headspace he could be a demonic nonhuman alter that formed because of their religious upbringing? I think it's entirely possible! Despite the differences in appearance between them that Jojo does when they switch front, I don't think that would be something that would be possible to change between the two of them because regardless of if Diavolo is a nonhuman alter or not, their body is still human. But it could be a fun little thing to think about!
This topic really is something I think about often, especially since Diavolo and Doppio are my dads and I think it's funny how I, their daughter, ended up in a DID system myself. I made a joke to a friend a bit ago about how it "runs in the family" lmao.

Minors not allowed. Will be blocked. Sorry just how it is since I'll be posting lewd eventually
Feel free to DM me if you wish. Always happy to meet and talk to new people.
I'm a transwomen who was finally convinced to make a Tumblr. My main focus here is 1 part be a thirsty horny little gremlin, 1 part talking about mental health stuff, and 1 part talk about cool art.
I do take mental health stuff seriously and will be talking a lot about it as someone who's life has been fucked over by it more then once. I'll be talking a lot about life with depression, borderline personality disorder, and dysphoria. As well as topics I'll have to spoiler (is that even possible on Tumblr?) due to their sensitive nature. Steps one can take on how to deal with having them as well as how best to help friends you know who suffer from them. Add some good to the world and hopefully help people not make the same dumb mistakes I've made. Seriously BPD is awful to have.
When I'm not talking about more serious important things I will probably be thirsting over cute people and being a lewd horny KeyjklfjdklsSmashiing little sub :3
Kinks: Haha uuhhhh a lot. Honestly when I enter hyper horny mode I can be very open to many degenerate things. Growing up on Hentai really opened my mind to things and I have no shame. I tend to be more submissive, but ironically have dommed more transwomen despite that (seriously some of you are so fucking submissive like holy shit)
I like bondage, BDSM, edging, being pinned down, pain, petplay, watersports, handholding, and well honestly be easier to list things I'm not into. Also fun fact having my face sat on temporally cures all mental illnesses, bet you're therapist won't tell you that secret tip. Seriously that's like number 1 kink right there. So if you have a cute butt then get comfortable right here :3
Things I'm not into: I guess blood, scat, and things like drugs or fireplay. Anything illegal or non consensual. Beyond those though just ask, I'm probably into it or willing to try.
Other interest: I enjoy video games, typically more single player stuff as I'm shit at games. Big into manga and anime though I rarely watch/read new ones lately. Got back into reading a bit when I can. Dabbled in all kinds of art, but nothing stuck yet. Maybe I'll share past work? I think a lot about game design and mayyyy be working on something that may or may never exist. My musical interest range from things like Atarashii Gakko, Alt-J, Susumu Hirasawa, Clipping, and yes of course, Death Grips. That and whatever music I find through AMV's. In general I love media and like to seek out odd lesser known things when I can.
Favorites:
Films: Memories of Matsuko (haha like anyone knows what this is), Confessions, City of God, The Dirties
Anime Films: End of Eva, A Silent Voice, Made in Abyss Dawn of the Deep Soul, Redline
TV Shows: Sopranos, The Leftovers, Lost, Great Teacher Onizuka (1998 version)
Anime Shows: Hunter X Hunter, Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (God the Count can fuck me any day)
Video Games: Outer Wilds, Wind Waker, Shadow of the Colossus, Omori
Albums: Amarok by Mike Oldfield (Probably the most odd thing I have on here), Hawaii: Part 2, Splendor and Misery by Clipping, Pale Machine by Boen.
Books: House of Leaves, The First Law books (only read first 4 so far)
Manga: Oyasumi Punpun (favorite piece of media of all time btw. Banner pic is from there), Berserk, Ouran High School Host Club, Boys Run the Riot
I will be talking about cool media and recommending shit often.
Art, mental health, and a lotta lewd will be what's posted here so if that interest then stick around. :3
Oh and feel free to ask me questions. No topic is off the table with me.

The Conflicts of Disney's Hercules (Part 2): Hercules vs Hades
Or as I like to call it: why Hercules and Hades are the best example of a literary foil muddled and lost in its own movie.
LONG POST, sorry not sorry.
The hero vs villain dynamic is a Disney staple inspired by the many fairy tales and folklore from which Disney has long based their movies on. However, this dynamic went through a glow-up when Disney started their Renaissance period kicking off with The Little Mermaid (1989).
This era of Disney brought in much more personality and character to their protagonists, but also bringing in a new type of villain. Now this was a sharp departure from your atypical evil stepmothers and wicked villainesses that Disney was known from in their early days.
That's why when Disney decided to adapt Hercules (1997) the writers needed a formidable foe for Hercules to throws hands with to fit in to this new era where you had the likes of Ariel vs Ursula, Aladdin vs Jafar, Simba vs Scar, etc.
And in the Renaissance, Disney started leaning more into their Shakespearean influences. Nowhere is this more evident then Lion King (1994) and to a lesser extent- based on deleted scenes, the broadway version, and live action remake- Little Mermaid.
The reason I'm bringing this up is b/c, my dear reader, now we're getting to the Evil Uncle Trope.
Tumblr media
Or at least a failed execution of it, b/c Disney did not utilize it well in Hercules. It's just barely touched upon.
Yes, yes, I know who the real villain is in the original myth of Herakles and that could be a reason it doesn't work. But Herakles vs Hera doesn't work well on paper when you remember that Herk was the affair baby and Hera is actively trying to smite him and this is a film meant for children. And something, something, she doesn't carry the kind of raw emo goth energy a walking-talking Bunsen burner can provide.
Jokes aside and the accuracy of the Greek Mythology presented, I think Disney Hercules was adapted well to a modern audience.
HOWEVER!
Now I've made it no secret in the past that I don't really view this hero/villain pair as the central conflict of Disney's Hercules.
That is mostly because whatever antagonism Hades and Hercules had going on it's very one-sided, and almost surface-level. Hades is over here having the biggest blow to his ego with a little bit of existential crisis thrown in for good measure.
Tumblr media
While Hercules is absolutely vibing to the Muses singing the greatest mind-melting musical number of the film.
Tumblr media
Not once do we get a character moment where this corn-fed farm boy ever stops to think, "Hey, Phil, I know Thebes is a bad place and all, but where do these mildly inconveniencing monsters keep coming from?"
In all two of his interactions with Hades(I'm not counting the opening scene, Hercules is a baby, fight me), Hercules never realizes in the entire movie how he was wronged by this tall glass of daddy issues.
Which are:
Flambe man kidnapped Baby
Lil sun spot is mortal now for plot relevance or smth
Attempted murder via the goon squad
Monsters keep coming out of nowhere after Herc saves the sassy lady from the Centaur(TM).
And Hades, to his credit, really doesn't care enough to tell him.
Why?
Because it literally never bothered Hercules. Hades is the obligatory monster of the week to Wonder breath. That kind of revelation wouldn't bother him, Hercules doesn't even know there's a prophecy about him. Hecc, home boy barely struggles with the Titans at the climax.
This is basically the Wanda-Thanos meme but the roles are reversed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I would like to emphasize, Hercules isn't bothered by the monsters Hades sends at all. He gets over it fairly quickly once he gets over his first battle jitters. If anything, the biggest issue Hercules is facing post-Hydra is that even though society has finally embraced him for his strength, he's still extremely lonely.
Tumblr media
Which leads to this pivotal moment in the film:
What is the point?
He's still a freak, but this time after years of training he's finally useful. My pal Rudolph the Red-nose reindeer understands this predicament rather well. And the loneliness that Hercules feels b/c of his superhuman abilities is such a fascinating angle the writers of Disney Hercules go with that isn't emphasized enough.
And I can't stress this enough: The internal war Hercules grapples with, of being caught between two worlds, struggling with something he was born with and of doing everything in his power to fit into both of these worlds? Now that makes for a compelling demigod.
What's more, the strange shift in how society view his strength is such a interesting element that could have made a better antagonist than Hades was and I bet if this movie was made in this new era of Disney films (2015-Present) it would've executed it with this premise in mind. Since Disney has moved away from mustache-twirling villains and focusing on things like generational trauma and internal issues.
The fear and scorn Hercules once felt is now being turned to adoration, but wait, that's not what he wanted!
He just wanted to be treated like a person.
Take the discus scene, Hercules tries to play frisbee with the other teens in his neighborhood, but he immediately gets told to buzz off.
Tumblr media
His goal of reaching Olympus isn't to reunite with his real family it's to finally be around others who are just as powerful as him, somewhere he wouldn't be out of place.
And the funny part about all of this is how well it ties in to Hades. Because Hercules upholding his duty as a hero is essentially what Hades did in his respective career until the moment he had his very own What's the point? moment.
Now first and foremost, I'm here to say Hades did his job. Regardless of how respectfully he did that in his later years....
Tumblr media
No zombie apocalypses as far as I can tell, so kudos to you babe.
And that kind of job isolated him pretty badly when you consider Hades is with the dead instead of the other gods, almost making Hercules' dream the same as Hades'. However that dream has long since distorted and twisted from centuries of bitterness and anger.
Which adds another layer to their similarities. The dedication they had for their jobs isolated them even further.
And funnily enough, Hades and Herc were both assigned to this task by Zeus.
Tumblr media
Now that we've established how similar H&H are let's see if we can glean how it played out for Hades by looking at Hercules' beginning. Hercules started out with so much determination and hope as can be seen in I Can Go the Distance (reprise). And as we follow Hercules to seek a teacher, to undergo years of training, and to follow through with all that he had been taught, Hercules never lost hope that he would finally be with people like him.
Well that is until Hercules' talk with Zeus.
Tumblr media
And we learn Hercules has been putting himself through tons of risks and labors for nothing...?
He could've accomplished being a true hero back in his old farm town, and before you argue Zeus never explicitly told him to walk the path of a hero- then why did he send him to Danny DeVito???
Tumblr media
And I'd like to make it clear I adore that Herc is being told off by his dad. Being Superman in Metropolis can go to one's head at his age especially now that he has proven time and time again how useful his strength is. Hubris is a major character flaw associated with greek mythology even if it isn't the flaw Herakles has in myth, keep this in mind for later as I explain what his flaw really is and how we see instances of it in the Disney film.
With that kind of journey mapped out, I bet about two drachmas and my 4 pound sponsor that Hades did the same as Herc. And as a result invested too much in his job for him to realize that he became disconnected to Olympus as a result.
Yeah, okay this is more conjecture and veering into fanfiction territory here and since I've been writing a fanfic on this guy for the past 6 years I tend to do that w/o meaning to. So if I ever start being a little too sympathetic on Mr. Brimstone Breath over there, take it with a grain of salt.
However, it is my personal headcanon since Hades did help Zeus in the original Titanomachy that my mans became extremely distant in his attempt to become a feared and respected god of the underworld.
And that came with its own reputation as mentioned in Gospel Truth Part II. Hades can get one-track minded and that applies very well to Hercules too.
So in the end, everything Herc and Hades were doing wasn't getting them any closer to what they really wanted: social acceptance.
And this was a big thing in Ancient Greece. The worst punishment a person could receive in those times was being exiled. Outcast. Permanent hermitage.
Let that sink in.
It can be argued that Hades always vied for Zeus' position, but I personally believe he did so because every other attempt he's made to change his circumstances after his What's the Point moment he kept hitting a road block either from Zeus or his arrogance to continue ruling a kingdom even if it isn't the underworld. Until he basically reasons, yup gotta take down the resident thunder dunder head.
And I think it's this factor of loneliness that both these guys share that really exemplifies or differentiates why each one is a great foil to each other. Hades is the dark reflection of what Hercules could be if he continued to toil after godhood/accepted into Mount Olympus to no avail for years and years and years.
It's a very similar trope we see in Kung Fu Panda with Tai Lung vs Po. And where Zeus fits into the role of Shifu.
Tumblr media
Remember, both these two were serving their people, but Hades has been around far longer. After centuries, Hades grew sick and tired of serving ppl for basically nothing so he decided to put all his anger and frustration to force the world to bend to him instead.
But this is all hidden in between the lines so it doesn't hit home to the audience unless you take a deeper look into these two characters.
And all that I've talked about above is not even what we see in the film.
So, let's talk about what we do see.
Exhibit Alpha: All Hades Breaks Loose
Tumblr media
As always, Hades is a showstopper. Don't tell him that btw he doesn't deserve it.
After executing a perfect 9.8/10 gymnastic spectacle, Hades shows up ready to pounce and do what he does best: Wheel and Deal with a trick ace up his sleeve.
It's so funny seeing Hercules talk to this guy, b/c he just had a falling out with his mentor and he's absolutely not in the mood to talk to this fast-talking flame head.
And Hades was ready to mop the floor with the guy, but b/c he can't get Wonder Bread's attention he has to whip out Meg a lot faster then he wanted to. He couldn't even savor the moment- it's like wasting a fine cigar.
But Hades doesn't skip a beat and like any mob boss, snaps his fingers, does a bit of blackmailing, and my beautiful boy catches on that if he loses his powers for 24 hours- talk about the confidence on Hades' part here- ppl will get hurt.
Hades, naturally, assures him things will be fine. I mean it's not like they're living in Greek mythology or anything. And after all, Hades assures him, Meg will be safe from harm.
They even shake on it. With left hands.....
Tumblr media
And as soon as the two break apart, Hades doesn't hold back on telling his nephew how badly he screwed up.
Leave it to your estranged uncle to sucker you into a terrible deal and then outline why that was the worst mistake of your lifetime. Grade A uncle-ing I say. Wonder if he learned that from centuries of putting up with Zeus' offspring.
And while I have discussed this scene before in Meg vs Hades, we see here the same betrayal Meg had gone through with her ex, but now Meg is taking on the role of her ex. So let's look at it from Herc's perspective.
Anyone else feel their heart breaking when Hercules accuses Hades of lying????
But this is what makes the scene for me:
Despite everything, Hercules still chooses to fight.
Tumblr media
You can really see the strength of Hercules' character here. Cuz despite his stupid decision, he still bares the weight of his responsibility even without his god-like strength.
Hercules faces the Cyclops as a normie. Hades would never.
This is the moment where Hercules rises above Hades in humility and upholds his duty despite the odds against him. This moment cements Hercules as a hero.
Finally the cycle of similarities is broken by Hercules' unselfish act. And it should've been in my opinion the moment he gained godhood and not the one below:
Tumblr media
Yes, I know how important it is for Meg's redemption and to show how pure and true their relationship is. They're my emotional support OTP, okay, but what's more compelling?
Hercules being saved by the woman who just betrayed him, or Hercules risking his life to save the city of Thebes now that he's just like everybody else? He doesn't have his plot armor anymore, he's facing a giant that's already going ham destroying the populace while everyone is trying to escape. Isn't that true hero material? To stand and face the threat and buy the people time to escape?
But I digress.
And oh man, when Meg gets crushed we see a side of Hercules that was hinted at after Phil called out Meg for being a fraud:
Tumblr media
We see Hercules' flaw.
In fact, the same flaw that Hades has as well:
Wrath.
Tumblr media
Exhibit Beta: A Swell Consolation Prize
Hades loses. Big surprise there. I'm not covering the Titan scene since Hades and Herc just trade frowns and smirks, so imma leave that one be for this post.
But Hades really does sign his death certificate when he starts running away and reminds Johnny Beefcakes that he still managed to get him where it hurts:
Tumblr media
And boy oh boy, when Meg died in his arms, Hercules has murder on his mind.
Tumblr media
This is the first time Hercules has a vendetta against Hades (with 10 minutes left). A true, true vendetta. He was willing to let go tricking him by using Meg, but now b/c Hades knocked over the domino that led to Meg's death and the job title he holds, he's ready to go kick ass.
And Lord, the writers knock a home run to the impulsiveness that sits at this central character flaw of Herakles.
Hercules, our Disney version, is ready to cheat death, beat Hades to a pulp and do anything to get Meg back. Alcestis and Admetus style, baby.
So Herc grabs Cerberus and forces the bloodthirsty puppy to take him to his master.
And now realizing that he still has a chance of pulling one over on Zeus, Hades is willing to look over the abuse upon his pet and gets ready to use the wheeling and dealing technique.
Tumblr media
And while Hercules does *convince*, and I use that word very loosely, to trade places with Meg, Hades agrees. While some have pointed out to me how clever Hercules can be this was not one of those moments.
Wow the son of my greatest rival??? Hercules made a really easy bargain that Hades was gonna propose anyway. Meg is insignificant in the grand scheme of things so who cares if she got a 'Get out of Jail' free card.
But, Hades messed up. Dude should've had his cake and eaten it too and just fished Meg out so Herc could take that dip and avoid what was coming to him.
Y'see Hades wasn't aware of the true hero clause Zeus randomly made up just like how Hades randomly made up a god-to-mortal potion.
So we get this ending with Herc's debt remaining unpaid.
Tumblr media
I joked to myself as I was writing this post to include a post in my Hercules Conflicts series where it's Hades vs Hades b/c let's be real, Hades caused all of Hades' problems.
Self-fulfilling prophecies babyyyyy
Tumblr media
Oy... Can you believe that now that Herc and Meg are alive and kicking as mortals they still owe a debt to Hades? Not the best ending, mind you. Sure, Hades isn't getting out anytime soon, so does it matter in the grand scheme of things?
But it is a sweet and well-deserved ending for our boy Hercules. Bc despite everything, Hercules realizes that the ppl who love him and know him for who he is: his adopted parents, his coach, and his girl that he would rather live out a mortal life with them instead of one with his bio parents. He knows now that the acceptance he has always been longing for has been realized and he'd rather have the life he knows than risk it all for a life that might make him all the more miserable.
And just like Hercules, Hades is now permanently stuck in the world he was forced into. Funny how they both ended up in the place they were actively trying to leave. It's a well-deserved punishment even if the dead are screwed without someone to keep the underworld in tip-top shape.
It's a shame Hades didn't meet Hercules sooner in the film because there is tons of material here that could've really had them be a formidable villain/hero pair up there with the likes of Aladdin vs Jafar. To have them actively oppose each other and force Hercules to grapple with the knowledge that this god is doing everything in his power to keep him off balance. imagine if Hades showed up early on just to gloat and mock the kid and confirm everything Zeus had told him?
Hercules could've grown up with that chip on his shoulder, wanting to be a fighter and a warrior just so he could take Hades on for realzies and take on the hoard of monsters he's sending to doom humanity. Just so it culminates in the classic: We're not so different conversation to mentally mess with the hero about his morals and life choices.
Could've been great.
Regardless, thanks for making it to the end, dear reader.
Till next time.

Who knew that Arya was receiving sword fighting lessons?
I always presumed that it was a secret and that nobody knew about it because it wasn't a ladylike activity.
"Who are you?" Arya asked.
"I am your dancing master." He tossed her one of the wooden blades. She grabbed for it, missed, and heard it clatter to the floor. "Tomorrow you will catch it. Now pick it up."
We know that Sansa knew, which makes sense because she's her sister:
Arya was chewing at her lip in that disgusting way she had. "Can we take Syrio back with us?"
"Who cares about your stupid dancing master?" Sansa flared.
However, it seems like most of the castle also knew about them, for example Cersei:
"Sansa," the queen said. "I've given it out that I have the younger brat as well, but it's a lie. I sent Meryn Trant to take her in hand when Robert died, but her wretched dancing master interfered and the girl fled. No one has seen her since. Likely she's dead. A great many people died that day."
As well as, Meryn Trant:
"And why is it that Lord Eddard is sending Lannister men in the place of his own? I am wondering."
"Mind your place, dancing master," Ser Meryn said. "This is no concern of yours."
The questions I have though is did Cersei and others knew that Arya was receiving sword lessons and they just didn't care?
Or did they think she was receiving dancing lessons?
Everytime Syrio is mentioned by them, it is always "Dancing" Master. But that doesn't hold up either because Meryn Trant isn't surprised that Syrio knows how to fight.
"You are quick, for a dancing master," said Ser Meryn.
"You are slow, for a knight," Syrio replied.
Girls learning how to swordfight is treated like it's something that is forbidden and not socially acceptable. But yet here we see that other people knew about Arya's lessons and made no comment on them (or none that was shown to us).
Is this because of Arya's privilege as a daughter of the Warden of the North and Hand of the King? Would her and Sansa been given more freedoms and rights than the other ladies in the court? Or is just because Arya's a little girl so it's just seen as child play?
She nodded. "Tomorrow we're going to catch cats."
"Cats." Ned sighed. "Perhaps it was a mistake to hire this Braavosi. If you like, I will ask Jory to take over your lessons. Or I might have a quiet word with Ser Barristan. He was the finest sword in the Seven Kingdoms in his youth."
"I don't want them," Arya said. "I want Syrio."
Ned later suggests to Arya that he could have a "quiet word" with Ser Barristan, so that Arya could train with him.
This definitely feels like privilege to me. Arya is easily being offered the chance to be trained by one of the greatest knights in the kingdom and the Lord Commander of the King's guard. An opportunity many other people would have killed for (like Bran 😭).
In talks about Arya's privilege as a Highborn girl and daughter of one of the most powerful Lord's in the kingdom, it's almost always about the Trident (stupid arguments about how Arya should have known better than to play with a peasant boy 🙄) and never about the actual privileges that girls like Arya, Sansa, Margaery, Myrcella, etc. Would have in comparison to ladies from lesser houses and/or lowborn women and girls.

Homura Arc (chapters 100-104) - How Ban's character highlighted Natori and Matoba's bond/Frienemieship/Whatever it is they have through cats
@joelleity here's the thing I was talking about
Heads up I haven't read the non translated chapter so this is only resting on the canon we have up to chap 108.
I've always considered NatsuYuu to be a cat people story in part because most characters have cat-like tendencies (especially if they're Ayakashi related, whether because they're Yokai or because they can see/feel them). This show is about the importance of interpersonal relationship and those are treated very much with a cat themed thesis of "even if it's just for a second and you find happiness with other people, it doesn't make its impact lesser than"...Also Natsume punching creatures bigger than he is and running away immediately is peak cat behavior u.u.
Generally speaking there are very few humans in this show who give the cat vibe as much as Matoba Seiji does.
However I didn't expect Midorikawa sensei to play with it this literally instead of just jokingly (if one day we get a chapter with any character, but especially Matoba being turned into a cat I'll die)...
More seriously though, the focus of this story is Maneki Neko exorcism tools and the fact that Ban wants to capture them for his Master who happen to be Matoba Seiji's Sister (whom I will call Lady Matoba from now on for practicality). Which actually give us these two as foils
Tumblr media
through the Matoba siblings feud(?).
Surprising, I know. I actually don't know the point of this, I've mostly noticed a pattern and am trying to write my thoughts down.
First let's take a look at what we know of where Matoba Seiji and Natori Shuuchi are at, at the beginning of this story.
So far in the main story Matoba and Natori have been established as people who know each other through having clearly worked together before which brings some level of knowledge about each other that's common between colleagues and Natori is particularly distrustful of Matoba. They still both acknowledge the other's skills.
We've also got to know only a few chapters prior that they have known each other since high school and had moments which they remembered differently. Natori remembered not liking the loquat he tried meanwhile Matoba remembered being offered loquats only because he was with Natori and remembering the context as well as remembering Natori's experience too.
The flashback chapters, which we have had for longer, give a lot more depth to this. We know that Natori's distrust is caused both by Matoba's attitude toward casually using others (well, him specifically) AND because of Natori's family rejection because of who he is. Basically Natori has a huge inferiority complex and doesn't know how to have interpersonal relationships.
Meanwhile Matoba seeked him out regularly 'cause lonely teenage boy, and because he too sucks at interpersonal relationships, he tried to find a pragmatic reasoning for why he was there. Since he was basically raised to live, breathe and die for his clan his pragmatism is inherently linked to that. Whether he was trying to find use for his clan and took the opportunity to find a friend or he wanted a friend and took the opportunity to help his clan is left unsaid. Either way he tried to get both.
It generally seems mostly one sided in the fondness department. with the exception of that one time Natori woke up after being possessed, Matoba seems to be the only one trying to turn this into an actual friendship.
So on the one hand we've got Matoba seeking Natori out and trying to befriend him but unable to be vulnerable because that would make his clan vulnerable. Matoba even tried to get Natori to come to his clan so he'd get a talented exorcist and get an actual friend out of it (vulnerability would not be as much of a problem if it's from the inside. Granted I doubt he though that far ahead). Matoba who is used to being rejected and still tries. Though he stops trying to recruit Natori he still seeked him out. Until he stopped which we don't know a thing about.
On the other we've got Natori who doesn't want to be vulnerable out of fear of being rejected, who takes Matoba at face value and never really tries to see past the Clan Heir to who Matoba is because Matoba's front gives him an excuse to fear vulnerability.
The one time he tried, Matoba got cold feet because while hoping, he's never actually had anybody try to reciprocate a genuine interest in him as a person and didn't know how to react so he fell back on known mechanisms.
This is represented by their names. Matoba calling Natori by his first name and getting him to call him Seiji and them arriving at adulthood using their last names with a polite distance.
Neither was in a good enough place to actually manage to build strong foundations so there are foundations but they're kind of just...there waiting to be reinforced and built on.
So that's it for the run down.
But why does that matter ? Well this chapter nuances everything through more or less subtle additions which hasn't really happened yet in the main story, at least not on such a big scale.
Natori's familiarity with the Matobas
We start the arc with Natori recognizing an object belonging to someone we don't know. Just that they make him shudder. We learn at the very end that this is Lady Matoba. Which brings some behaviors to a different light.
For example when explaining who Ban is and what kind of person he is sevring, we get this:
Tumblr media
Natori who generally acts very callously toward Matoba's feelings (not talking about politeness and rank here) is actually trying to assess Matoba. It could be for several reasons. Most likely it's because he knows it affected Matoba even if he probably doesn't know how much. Maybe he's trying to gauge how Matoba feels about it for curiosity's sake, maybe because he's worried Matoba will just be more dangerous than usual, maybe he's just worried because he does care even if just a bit. Maybe it's a bit of all those combined.
Before the reveal of Lady Matoba we just know that Natori knows who it is and that they're an enemy of the Matoba clan. However this means that he probably met her through Matoba himself. The way the conversation is frames generally make it seem like his knowledge is linked to Seiji but it is very subtle.
It also makes more sense than just meeting Ban and Lady Matoba through the colleagues excuse since he recognized a pot to be hers, as something she cares about very much. It's further proved when Natori talks with Matoba (all cozy looking) and describes the pot and later when Natori is left with Nyanko-sensei and explains how he knows Matoba because it's very clear for him that Natori and Matoba do know each other rather well despite not getting along.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It also brings an interesting point to his view of Matoba: He dislike his methods. It is a nice confirmation that Natori doesn't dislike Matoba himself and it explains why they are in this very gray area and don't fit the trope of Enemy to LoversFriends. Matoba is very much an antagonist and not a villain, and Natori sees it that way too.
Anyway I bring this up because Natori remembers he saw that pot back when he and Matoba were high schoolers which is the time period when they were the closest thing to being friends.
Natori Shuuichi's familiarity with Matoba Seiji
Chronologically we have Natori kidnapping Seiji from an important meeting.
Tumblr media
Though I doubt it happened the way Natsume and Nyanko-sensei imagine it and Matoba was mostly just exaggerating because he's kind of a troll, it still says a lot that Natori doesn't negate his words, meaning that, while exaggerated, they're not lies. This means that Natori can get away with something that most people wouldn't be able to (even if partly because Matoba would never have refused anything to this context of a Matoba clan enemy, it still makes more sense if it is also linked to something more personal especially with Natori looking out for Matoba's reaction).
The point still remains that in an official setting where Matoba was clearly surrounded and not an easy prey, Natori managed to get in and out with the head of a clan without being stopped and was given the benefit of doubt that it was actually important. This implies a level of trust and respect from Matoba sure, but it also means that this is known by the people surrounding him. I don't doubt that Nanase knows seeing as how she treats Natori as more than a background character but I doubt she's the only one present there (and if the others didn't know before this, they definitely do now).
PS: I dare you to tell me Matoba doesn't look like a cat in Natsume and Nyanko-sensei's vision.
Speaking of cats, we're getting to the page where Matoba's love of cats gets shown:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Natori-san you have no right looking this soft for your antagonist.
PS: Taki and Matoba would probably get along in their love for cats.
Hmm anyway, we know from the special chapters that Natori was lucky enough to stumble onto Matoba hiding under a table and stealing sweets as well as just showing other childish behavior when they were teenagers and Matoba didn't yet have to put on a mask every second of every day because of his responsibilities. So it's not hard to believe that Natori would have stumbled upon Matoba geeking about cats. Depending on how far his denial of Matoba's humanity as an adult goes, this is could be him being glad that Matoba can still be like this as an adult even after he's continued on his path of apathy but it could just be a normal kind of fondness toward someone you care about. Or both.
The point is that Natori remembers this detail even years after.
Now we move on to Matoba getting lost in his quest of power to protect his clan.
Now one of the gimmick of this series is that Natsume is generally the one whose empathy reaches whoever is doing the wrong thing but when he can't directly, he does it inderectly through whoever he helped/inspired to get there and they're the ones linked to the antagonist. Usually it's Ayakashi but here it's about the most ayakashi-like humans we have in our main cast. Natsume has had enough an impact on Natori that Natori can now act and start doing something about his relationship with Matoba.
Tumblr media
I find this interesting that this is where it stops. The next scene is officially about Natsume and Natori. Matoba isn't the type to let these kinds of actions slide but here he does. He takes a back seat. Partly because of Natsume reminding him he can't be so reckless about his own life if he wants to keep protecting his clan. It follows their parallel as people with a heavily loaded inheritance who can understand each other. Which Natori doesn't have, yet he's the one who saved Matoba and Natsume. Because he's starting to see past this concept of inheritance at the people concerned. And the following scene he shares with Natsume reinforces this (hence why it's officially about Natsume and Natori but officiously about Matoba and Natori).
He and Matoba are simply not in a place to make anything of it yet.
And Matoba was reached by both of them. Which is probably why he doesn't actually do anything. He seems to still be in a sort of daze and his eye just stays hidden.
That's how this chapter ends and the next one starts with them planning to destroy the weapon Matoba wanted.
Tumblr media
Matoba still seems out of it and I find it interesting that Natori is still the one doing the talking. Normally it'd be Natsume's role. Yet Natori is the one using Matoba's pragmatism to stop him. He's direct but still pretty soft and genuine. Aside from the way his relationship with Natsume has evolved (and that's still a fairly recent development) and Takuma, Natori tends to either Sparkle or be pretty abrasive.
He's either growing enough that he can now be genuine with others when they had an almost emotional breakdown, or he's finally ready to see past Matoba's mask...Or both.
He also uses a different, more emotional this time, argument which is "saving the cats", to get him out of his funk. The clan was used to stop Matoba from going further into his obsession while the cats were used to get him to act.
Lady Matoba & Ban VS Matoba Seiji & ... Natori Shuuichi ?
On the one hand we have Ban who followed his master (Natori even called Ban her confident at one point) out of the Matoba clan to enter a different one together. Who wants to make her happy.
On the other we have Natori who refused to enter the Matoba clan to follow Seiji and generally dislikes being around Matoba and whatever his latest obsession is. Who tried to escape Matoba's "games" and considers himself neutral.
How could they be paralleled ? Wouldn't it make more sense fo it to be Natsume since he's the last one Matoba tried to recruit ?
Well no. Because Natsume parallels Matoba. Whereas, as far as we know, Ban does not parallel Lady Matoba.
In the scene before the last one, Natori explains why he started poking around in the first place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nyanko-sensei does point that Natori doesn't seem that neutral and seems to lean toward helping the Matoba clan rather than sheer neutrality. Neither of them is wrong.
I do believe that Natori is generally more neutral than most. Not that interested in politics. But that doesn't mean that he can't recognize the stability the Matoba clan brings when the world of exorcists has been so reduced and that an "anti" organization could make things more dangerous for them. It IS an unknown after all. So to him being neutral doesn't mean being completely inactive.
But there's also the fact that he does care about the Matoba clan head and has met his sister enough to consider her creepier. He just doesn't care about Matoba as the clan head (it's probably the opposite).
Actually in the next scene, when Matoba confronts Ban, he says "that person gave me an unecessary secretive report". And that's because he wasn't giving it as a report. He's not on Matoba's side in the Matoba vs others war.
This is because there is a difference between political and personal.
And I didn't notice it before I reread the arc for this meta, but right before this scene, Midorikawa-Sensei actually highlights this difference but through Natsume because neither Natori nor Matoba is ready yet.
Tumblr media
Maybe Seiji will understand someday !
I actually find it funny that Natsume has a similar role in Matoba and Natori's relationship as Nyanko-Sensei has in his and Tanuma's (well his and everybody but especially Tanuma).
Anyway, this is how the arc ends:
Tumblr media
Ban who followed Lady Matoba, who wants to make her happy and tried to get powerful exorcist tools, doesn't know she hates cats.
Meanwhile Natori who tried to put distance for years between him and Matoba, who doesn't trust him and only brought him in this case because it's linked to his sister so he'd be the best person to help despite how dangerous he might be...
That guy knew that Matoba Seiji loves cats

I love how much effort you put into researching for each of your fics. You have talked a little about this before, but could you share some fun facts about your fic researching?
Sure! Let's see...
So I mentioned the ketchup research, but for the Lady's Liaison I spent more time looking up Regency facts than I did creative writing. For instance, I was originally going to have them run for the coast in a private carriage the whole way, but then I was like, "No, I'd better check." So I spent probably an hour or more reading up on Regency modes of travel, and then also to see whether there would be possible boat routes to get to Scotland, because I wanted it to be plausible for Jean to believe that they might sail there instead of going over land. I also looked up Regency outerwear and undergarments to ensure that they were undressing each other in the most historically accurate way possible.
For Little Mice, besides reading the book on the topic, I searched old newspaper articles on the Boston Molasses flood, read up on racism against Asians (and Italians) during the early 20th century, miscegenation laws, Italian anarchists, typical courtship and honeymoon traditions, etc. I also found a website with a transcript of an old document by a social worker of the period going over what a typical Italian immigrant family ate in a day. For that little bit at the end when Eren and Mikasa are talking about what to get at the lunch counter, I looked up old restaurant menus of the time period to see what kinds of meals they could order.
For my cabin fic that I don't like to talk about I watched several videos about traditional salt production.
For Clueless Teens I watched several videos about how to use a Ouija board to commune with spirits and did some reading on runes and rune magic (although I forgot most of what I learned).
For Anamnesis... Oh boy. I was looking up how to destroy DNA evidence, what kind of bullets could cause the kind of injuries I was picturing for the characters who got shot (it's hollow points. If you want the bullet to be doing significant, explosive damage, you want a hollow point or one of those illegal butterfly bullets). I also looked up the statute of limitations for different crimes, whether you could survive a slit throat, what kinds of injuries would necessitate stitches (to make sure it was reasonable for Mikasa to have gotten stitches on her hands without having any significant damage to her muscles that would require PT), different kinds of scarring, gubernatorial term limits... I tried reading up on quantum theory but the scientific articles I found were all a bit over my head, so I figured I'd just have to go on vibes for that one. I've read plenty of fiction books featuring quantum universes so I was just like, "I won't stray too far from the typical rules and won't get into the theory. I should be fine."
Let's see if I can think of any other research I've done. I don't know, I am often popping over to google to look something up when I write, so it just kind of blends together. I've been looking up developmental milestones a lot for the single parents au to make sure what I'm describing is accurate, such as Eren's daughter being bad at jumping and how many words she should use in sentence lol. Of course, some of that info is based on my own parenting experiences, but it's been a while since my kid was 3.
I'm not sure those are fun facts, actually. So, here we go:
Historically, there are multiple types of ketchup. Mushroom, walnut, tomato, anchovy (I believe), and sometimes you can still find the lesser known versions. In the Philippines (?) they have, I want to say, banana ketchup. It was originally a fermented fish sauce from China and ketchup or catsup is the anglicized version of the original name (which I cannot remember). Ketchup was a popular condiment in Regency England.
You can "make" your own salt by collecting sea water and boiling it in a pot until all the water is gone, leaving just the sediment behind.
Keloid scars are not the only type of protruding scars. Hypertrophic scars also heal incorrectly so that they kind of bubble from the skin, however unlike with keloids these scars are soft, typically fade from pink to blend in better with your skin, and often will flatten out somewhat over time. Some people are gentically disposed towards keloid scarring and I want to say it is more common on certain parts of the body but I can't remember what exactly those parts are.
In the late 1800s and the early 1900s, the newer, Western states were the ones that had laws against interracial marriage because they included them when they took on statehood. In the East, despite being equally racist, they did not tend to have laws against interracial marriage because the original state founders did not anticipate it would become a "problem". I just find that interesting, since the West Coast is supposed to be so liberal, but look at how they started.
There are only three Japantowns left in the US and they are all located in California.
Regency men's shirts did not have buttons all the way down. They were more like tunics, so a solid panel over the belly and then perhaps buttons at the top over the chest. I can't entirely remember, but I know because of it I nixed a scene I'd been thinking of where Mikasa rips Eren's shirt off and the buttons fly everywhere, then later we see her sewing them back on lol.

For canon muses: what's the worst take, headcanon or even canon moment you saw regarding your muse?
{ ooc. OH BOY LET ME SIT DOWN FOR THIS ONE... although it kind of counts as a worst take for Serena and Calem, because it ends up effecting him too
Full obligatory disclaimer: I don't have anything against people who ship protag!serena/rival!calem. It's not my cup of tea and what I'm talking about is just one of the popular takes on the ship
The ice coldest take I've seen on protag!Serena that seems to be common in fanon (and sadly seeped its way into masters, albeit reversing the roles) is that Serena's Whole Entire Journey is focused around Calem. That she wants him to ✨notice her✨ but he's just so oblivious. That she's a blushing mess every time he gets a metre away from her and all she just wants to do is hang out with him but he won't give her the time of day ...and it's usually all to build up to a point where poor Serena has an emotional breakdown over one line from the game-- where Calem says he respects the protag as a friend (shock, horror, gasping, curled up in my seat, i'm never recovering from this betrayal). And again, to a lesser extent, when he calls her a friend at Victory Road, but this time Serena is So Angry he keeps expressing platonic affection and not romantic
Which... listen, in this game I have problem with for several reasons. Rival!Calem is not a good friend to the protag throughout the story. By the time he drops this line, he had just literally abandoned Serena in the depths of the Team Flare lab (yes, that's canon), completely outnumbered, because "she can handle it". Before that, he pressures the player into fighting over the mega ring, to the point where the others in the Kalos gang are like "hey this is a bit far what the Fuck". Before that, and even after, he's... not exactly kind to the player either. Not antagonistic, but not kind. He doesn't like that they, a random stranger who got shoehorned in on being given a starter because the professor felt bad for their situation, are stronger than him.
WHICH LIKE... once again, I have no problem with these actions. It's good shit, despite XY's writing. His whole arc in XY is coming to terms with the fact that he can't always be the best, even at something he feels entitled to excel in because of his parents' legacies... He has to learn to become okay with falling short, and his interactions with the protag are the way that arc is developed.
The issue comes when you take all of that, erase Calem's arc so he can be a flavourless love interest, and reduce Serena from a heroine who saves the world to one who exists solely to cry over a boy. Do you see how the vision is ice cold. When he calls Serena a friend for the first time instead of neighbour, that's the good shit. It's a sign of his development and moving past his own frustrations with what the protag represents. And it's sad that that moment gets taken as friendzoning, and that interpretation is then what Serena gets built around
...then pokemas added Calem and Serena... and it's that dynamic, except he got given this fanon!Serena's personality, and she got given his obliviousness. But we should've known after giving Xerneas to Sycamore that for XY, dena is just trying to appeal to the most popular ships from those games }

Unsure how this goes for non-disordered systems but I think AFAB people are more aware of their system if its a CDD because mental health is a thing more cared about for "perceived women" than "perceived men". Men and amab people at least where we are, socially are expected to just get over things and never admit problems. I suspect that the full split (at least for disordered systems) would be truly 50/50 just those in awareness are less known. The kinds of social stigmas may or may not pertain to endo systems I think. Which could lead to less men considering it.
This is very true!
But there's also a lot more that goes into it. There are a hundred different factors that make it hard to make a determination about the cause of these statistics being the way they are.
First, I actually don't know if this applies to every type of system. It does apply to DID systems studied though, and at an alarming rate. But it also applies to spirit channelers to a lesser extent.
Tumblr media
This could mean that all types of plurality are more likely to occur in AFAB bodies, (if we assume spiritual plurality has a psychological cause) but it could also be that plurality in AMAB bodies is being missed, or is manifesting in other ways. Interestingly, the tulpamancy community, given its roots the brony fandom, 4Chan and Reddit actually breaks convention.
Tumblr media
As you can see, most tulpamancers lean male. Presumably AMAB even though it's not stated. But again, these are (usually-)intentionally created systems from male-leaning communities.
Going back to DID, I think that you're right that repression plays a big role in the statistics, leading to less people wanting to seek help. But I also want to acknowledge the elephant in the room, which is that young girls are statistically more likely to be the victims of CSA than boys, leading to more of the type of trauma most heavily associated with DID. Victimization doesn't happen at the same rates across different demographics. (But of course, it's not reported at the same rates either, which does throw another wrinkle into matters.)
At the same time, I've talked a lot about the frequency of systems being misdiagnosed, and I think this bias also exists at the level of gender and sex too. Certain mental illnesses have this perception of being male illnesses or female illnesses. And while we're luckily past the days of "hysteria" being a disorder, we're not past the days when people may be diagnosed with different illnesses based on gendered biases.
These issues could help explain discrepancies in DID and OSDD, but not so much spirituality. But then, the spirit channelers are also a Western sample where women have historically been associated with witchcraft, and might be more likely to lean away from Christianity given the sexism of Bible. So maybe it's just a cultural thing that women are more likely to seek out spirituality in the West, and therefore more likely to become spirit channelers.
There are too many unknowns right now when we get into the discussion of why statistics look the way they do. Too many variables. And it may be that no single one is responsible but a combinations of them.
We need more data into all sort of plurality. We need a mental health system that we can rely on to accurately diagnose dissociative disorders instead of leaving people suffering with false diagnoses for years. We need an environment where everyone, regardless of sex or gender, feels comfortable coming forward with their internal experiences.

Iris!!! I have a question for you - i took some time away from kpop since 2020 (i got a bit obsessive with it to a point where it was interfering with my actual life. I didn't realize I was dealing with something and kpop was my escape)..Anyway I'm in a MUCH better headspace now and would like to get back into it little by little...any advice on this? Also any new awesome songs/groups that came out since then? Hope youve been well too, i know you were gone for a while and noticed youve been active again lately. Always loved your fics. Anyway thank you for everything and hope you are doing well 💖
Hi, anon! I'm a bit delayed with messages since I was on a work trip for the last week and still trying to get caught up. I gave this some thought over the last few days and have some advice:
Listen to everything like you're a stranger wandering around a bar alone. I recommend listening to a k-pop mix playlist without knowing the names of the groups in advance. Not knowing who you're listening to until the point of falling for them is essential. Just let the algorithm throw some shit and see what sticks.
I've learned over the years that there are TONS of great groups out there who haven't been promoted or even listened to by most of my k-pop friends. Relying solely on friends for music choices will always cut off a lesser known gem OR it'll poison the well against groups who are honestly the shit and have talents worth celebrating. I've encountered a lot of music fans who claim to be bored by k-pop and have only listened to one or two groups. That's 100% a personal choice. To me, they're someone who only eats cereal and claims to not be enthused for breakfast. Breakfast could be the most magical time of your day if you went to a buffet and got some eggs and bacon and savory goodness!
I'm still sad I fell into this trap in my first year as a k-pop fan (I was a VIP and Blackjack first). I found BIGBANG and 2NE1 on my own thanks to insomnia and being up too late, but I arrived at EXO's discography about 3 years late because of stupid fanwar shit. I learned and grew from that, which is why I now pitch discovering groups solo whenever you can. I found BTS at 2 AM in 2015 and didn't make a friend over them until I was already in for over a year. A lot of my faves have gone that way. I was the only person I knew who loved Dreamcatcher for at least 2 years and no one ruined that for me because I was too far up their ass for anyone to talk me out of it. Other groups I discovered and enjoyed largely alone: KARD, AOA, Boys Republic, 9Muses, 4Minute, FIESTAR (omfggg), and I'm sure that's not all of them.
The last Korean act I discovered alone was BIBI and I think I stimmed to KAZINO for about 3 hours on the first playthrough. I had my good headphones and that was a treasured experience that no one ruined. I know one person who listens to her and we've never talked about her music. Would I trade that track for a chance to have friends around to chat up something else? Hell no! lolll
I appreciate you sharing your circumstances of being away for a while because I think personal boundaries are essential in everything. There's a lot of pressure to participate in a lot of different facets of the community/fandom and the companies absolutely market with the aim of addiction in mind. But you can be a casual listener for most groups and be a hardcore fan to a few if you want. Let's be honest: unless you're rich, you can't afford to be a diehard fan of everyone and go to all the shows and buy all the stuff. The same is true for time. You may not have time to enjoy every piece of content a group puts out. That doesn't make you less of a fan no matter what anyone says. Ultimately, my faves don't know who I am. I have almost no impact on their life aside from a number on a spreadsheet. We're all ships passing in the ocean or however the phrasing goes; as a fan, I have to make decisions I can live with long-term.

What kind of ability would Higuchi have and its potential name?
Hi to whoever is reading this! This is my first self-written post so I’m still figuring out how all this works and I’m sorry, if it gets a bit chaotic. Anyways, recently, I came across a question regarding Higuchi from Bungou Stray Dogs. It was about what Higuchi’s ability would be called and what type it would be. So I won’t go into details whether she has an ability or not. I believe she has since she is named after an author (and Asagiri himself kinda confirmed it via Twitter). Thus, I just want to write my thoughts on the potential names and kind of ability.
Since abilities in the BSD world are always named after rather well-known works of the authors, I compared some of the famous works of Higuchi Ichiyo. Now mind you, I haven’t read her works myself. I mostly relied on comparing summaries and analyses of them. Since there are not a lot of summaries, I read two lesser-known stories myself. I will add the links of the summaries/analyses of the works down below. However, while comparing I found two works that would fit Higuchi. Now, first what do I mean by “fit”? Well, it might be best to start explaining what I think about the type of Higuchi’s ability.
I believe Higuchi has not an offensive type of ability. Nothing like Atsushi’s, Akutagawa’s, Kyouka’s etc. If she had, I’m sure she would have used it already, since she’s fighting a lot with her guns, why wouldn’t she use her ability as an addition, why would she hide it? There are two possibilities why we haven’t seen her ability yet. First possibility would be that her ability is not visible like Odasaku’s or Ango’s, maybe it’s even an ability that she hasn’t even discovered, just like Fukuzawa hasn’t realized he has one before the ADA. Second would be that she can use her ability only under stringent conditions. And I believe it’s the latter, hear me out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember this scene from Chapter 14? Higuchi reaches out to hold Akutagawa’s hand but then pulls back because she remembered him saying that he doesn’t need her help. Now, you could argue that holding the hands of injured loved ones is a gesture of closeness, a way to show them your support, a way to tell them that you’re staying by their side. And Aku doesn’t want this support, so that’s why she retracted her hand. But something bothers me here. In this scene it looks like Aku slapped Higuchi’s hand away, doesn’t it? And then he says, he doesn’t need her help, instead of support. I know, you could say support and help are almost the same. But to me, help is something that you do more “actively”, while support can be something passive. What if Higuchi’s hand represents this “active” help? And what would actively help Akutagawa in this very moment? A healing ability for example. Coincidentally, in the panel before, Hirotsu asks Higuchi what power she posses to make them [the black lizard] obey. Is this a hint that there is a hint about Higuchi’s ability in the next panel? Maybe. But let’s look at the next panel. It’s the title page of this chapter.
Tumblr media
As you can see, Higuchi has a bandage wrapped around her leg and they seem connected to Akutagawa. In this chapter, it is revealed that Higuchi contemplated about leaving the Port Mafia but her reason for staying is implied to be Akutagawa. This is perfectly symbolized by the bandages in this title page. The bandages coming from Akutagawa are holding her leg back, stopping her from walking away from the PM. But maybe there is a second interpretation? If you’re looking at Akutagawa’s left hand, the bandages are starting to come off. What if this means Akutagawa is healing and doesn’t need the bandages anymore? Instead it wraps around Higuchi’s leg, restricting her movement. What if Higuchi’s ability allows her to help someone else (doesn’t have to be necessarily a healing ability) but in exchange she needs to sacrifice something? Anyways, I think she has an ability which allows her to help other people in a non-combat way. With this in mind, I was looking through several works of Higuchi Ichiyo, searching for something that “fits”. Meaning that I was looking for parallels and themes in irl Higuchi’s stories that could be “converted” into an ability. Just like the coat that the protagonist of Rashomon stole in order to now die of hunger was used as Akutagawa’s ability which seems to be able to eat everything, or like the wish that one’s brother does not die in war in Thou Shalt Not Die became Yosano’s ability and serving as a basis of her background story. Anyways, I’d like to present the works that could be used for Higuchi’s ability and draw some parallels.
1. The Thirteen’s Night
The story revolves around a poor woman, called Oseki. Thanks to her marriage to a rich man, her family was able to live a better life and her brother found a job. But on the thirteenth night of the ninth month of the lunar calendar (one of two special nights for moon viewing), Oseki visited her parents with the intention on asking her parents for approval for divorcing her husband. Before entering, she overhears her parents talking about how lucky they are that they have such good children who don’t cause trouble and that they are very thankful for this marriage. Hesitating at first, she finally goes in and admits that she wants to divorce her husband because he abuses her mentally. He insults her constantly and tells her that she's worthless, stupid, and uneducated. Her mother is outraged. But her father, even though he acknowledges her suffering, reminds her what her husband has done for this family and that she would lose her son since women couldn’t get custody of their children after a divorce at that time. Agreeing with her father, Oseki decides to go back to her husband:
“It was selfish of me to think of a divorce. You're right. If I couldn't see Tarō, there'd be no point in living. I might flee my present sorrows, but what kind of future would I have? If I could think of myself as already dead, that would solve everything… Then Tarō would have both his parents with him. It was a foolish idea I had, and I've troubled you with the whole unpleasant business. From tonight I will consider myself dead — a spirit who watches over Tarō. That way I can bear Isamu's cruelty for a hundred years to come.”
– In The Shade of Spring Leaves, translated by Robert Lyons Danly
Just like BSD Higuchi contemplates leaving the PM, the protagonist here wants to leave her husband. The PM is like the husband. It allows her to support herself and probably her family (at least we saw that she has a sister). But there is constant abuse. Akutagawa is clearly the biggest source of abuse that we can see. But it’s not only him. In Chapter 14, Mori asks her if she is really suited for this job. Telling her indirectly that she is useless or that she is too weak for the PM. Later, you can see the Black Lizard doubting her capabilities, even threatening her. But just like Oseki she stays because of a loved one. What really concerns me is Oseki saying that she will consider herself as a dead spirit watching over Tarō. What if Higuchi, in order to use her ability, has to sacrifice part of her lifespan? Or maybe she loses a feeling? Like e.g. she loses the ability to feel happiness, making her a bit more dead inside? If you draw this parallel, you could also say that when ‘consider myself dead’ is the condition of the ability, then ‘watching over Tarō’ is a hint to Higuchi’s ability. An ability that allows her to watch over and protect her loved ones? This theme fits Higuchi perfectly, since a big topic in Higuchi’s story line is how she wants to help and protect Akutagawa. So it makes sense that her ability might be something that would help him (**intensely squinting at the recent events in the manga, especially chapter 88**). Moving on to the second possibility before the pain starts to set in.
2. Takekurabe (literally: "Comparing heights", "Child's Play" in the Robert Lyons Danly translation, "Growing Up" in the Edward Seidensticker translation)
Now this is considered as Higuchi Ichiyo’s masterpiece. So the chances are high that the ability is based on this story. The story accompanies a group of children who live next to the Yoshiwara quarter. There are two rival gangs: the main street gang (’omote-machi’), lead by Shōtarō, a cultivated young boy who is the grandson of the owner of a pawnshop, and the back street gang (’yoko-chō’), lead by Chōkichi, the impulsive firefighter’s son. (Maybe a parallel to the ADA with (cultivated) Fukuzawa and the PM with Mori who’s a doctor which belongs into the same category of occupation as firefighters?). Among the main street gang, there was Midori, popular and pretty, who lives in the brothel where her sister works. Shōtarō probably has a crush on her. But Midori probably has feelings for the other main character, Nobu, the son of a Buddhist priest. Even though he returns her feelings, he distances himself from her out of his self-consciousness. Later he joins the rival gang after repeated request by Chōkichi. Anyways, they spend their days very care-free, attending school, playing with each other after school. One day, some conflict arises between the gangs and Midori, while protecting someone else, gets slapped by Chōkichi with a sandal. He then proceeds to tell her that their gang is backed by no other than Nobu. Midori feels humiliated and stops going to school. Soon she also stops playing with the other children. After some time passed, Midori is seen with her hair all done up. She has become a distant, lady-like young woman. This probably means that she got her first period and is old enough to become a prostitute or that she just had her first client as a courtesan. Little by little, the children grow up. Nobu is sent off to be trained as a priest and Shōtarō has come to accept the responsibilities of his family’s shop.
There are several themes in this story that I’d like to point out, namely unrequited love, Midori’s transformation and underlying unchangeable fates. The first one is obviously a big theme in Higuchi’s story. Midori and Nobu are unable to express their love for each other because of their positions in life. Just like Higuchi is unable to express her feelings for Akutagawa. If you want some hope, AkuHigu shippers, maybe Aku has also feelings for Higuchi but is still very confused and self-conscious about it just like Nobu. Anyways, because of their positions in the PM, it would make everything very complicated if Higuchi confessed. Additionally, Midori feels like she was humiliated by her love when she got slapped by that sandal. I’m sure that Higuchi gets humiliated by Akutagawa a lot. The next theme is Midori’s transformation from a tomboyish to a lady-like, distant woman. We all know Higuchi looks really badass in her suits. But again, look at the title page of chapter 14. Higuchi is dressed up all prettily and lady-like in a dress, and her hair is done all up. Just like Midori after her transformation. Midori’s transformation stands for Midori accepting her occupation as a prostitute even though she doesn’t want to. In this chapter, we see that Higuchi has accepted her job in the PM, even though she doesn’t want to do this job. At the end Shōtarō sings the following:
"Growing up,
she plays among the butterflies
and flowers.
But she turns sixteen,
and all she knows
is work and sorrow."
– In The Shade of Spring Leaves, translated by Robert Lyons Danly
I don’t know about you guys, but to me that necklace that Higuchi is wearing in that title page looks like a butterfly to me. This is really farfetched but maybe this could be a hint about when Higuchi joined the Port Mafia? However, the biggest theme in Takekurabe is the underlying unchangeable fate of the children. Shōtarō was destined to become the next owner of the pawnshop, Nabu was destined to become a Buddhist monk and Midori would become a prostitute. Maybe this gives us some insight into why Higuchi joined the PM? Maybe one of her parents was a PM member? I also like to think that since Aku is in the PM, since she wants to be with him, she can’t but stay in the PM, and this is her fate. Nevertheless, fate is a central theme in Takekurabe. This is the reason why I think, if the ability is based on this story, Higuchi’s ability would be something like changing fates. Changing fate of someone else but in return she must sacrifice something.
Okay, so this post has become quite long. But I still wanted to mention two other stories Yamizakura (Flowers at Dusk) and The Sound of the Koto where I saw a lot of parallels. I just want to briefly tell you the story of The Sound of the Koto. In this story a woman abandons her son in order to leave her husband who has a bad reputation. The husband then turns into an alcoholic and dies later at a party because of alcohol intoxication. The boy becomes hardened to the world, despises his mother for leaving them, and even contemplates suicide. The story shifts then to a woman playing the koto.  I want to give you an excerpt for the end of this story:
“On this night the sound of the woman’s playing helped another to be reborn. Through fourteen springs and fourteen autumns, the boy had been buffeted by the rains. His heart had gradually toughened until it had become as hard as stone. No arrow could penetrate it. He seemed destined to follow the example of his father, to die among the fields or in the mountains, where his remains would be bleached by the elements. Some were convinced the boy’s life would end in prison chains, while his bad name spread to every roadside.
But now, at once, the tenderness buried in his heart was freed by the midnight strains of the koto. For the first time in many years, he felt tears come to his eyes. Or were they jewelled drops of dew? He would not exchange them for anything.
He, who had known neither love nor compassion, and who had no idea what the player of these refrains could even look like, felt a moment of happiness as the music drifted over the garden wall. […]
[…] How could a stormy wind blow now? The clouds in his heart had disappeared. Once more the woman began to play. The sound of the koto would be his friend for a hundred years, the seed for a hundred years of yearning. He had entered a world where a hundred different flowers wer in bloom.
– In The Shade of Spring Leaves, translated by Robert Lyons Danly
This boy somehow just reminds me so much of Akutagawa. Just like this boy, without any parents and home, wandering around in this world, Akutagawa has become hardened to the world. I’d like to think that Higuchi’s ability could free Akutagawa from his pain, just like the sound of koto does for this boy.
So, now I said everything I wanted to say, I guess. If there is really anyone reading this and reading this until here, thank you so much! I appreciate it very much that you kept reading even though my thoughts are probably quite chaotic. I’m sorry if there are any grammar mistakes or weird sentence structures or anything like this. English is not my first language. I’m very happy, if you could point out any mistakes or have any suggestion for improvement. Lastly, I just want to remind you that these are my thoughts, I love discussing so feel free to comment your thoughts but I’d like you to keep in mind that there is not necessarily a wrong or right, theories are theories, interpretations are interpretations. Everyone has another interpretation. They can only be proven wrong by Asagiri sensei himself. Until then just keep the discussions friendly and tolerant towards other people’s thoughts and opinions.

Hello! I was wondering if you could please write something about how the Fellowship (+ Thorin?) Would help a s/o who's Disabled and Chronically ill. Like she has a lot of symptoms like chronic pain, chronic fatigue, difficulty sleeping, difficulty breathing at times, difficulty walking at times, higher sensitivity to the cold, difficulty talking at times, and anxiety, depression and executive dysfunction?
I've been really struggling with my chronic illnesses lately, namely my Autism, Anxiety, Sleep Apnea, a really bad Overbite, Raynaud's Syndrome, Asthma, etc, so I'd really appreciate an Imagine like this. I have a really weird disorder where one of my legs is longer than the other, and it's been causing me a lot of pain and difficulty walking lately, and people have been bullying me for it a lot too, so I could really use a Comfort Imagine right now. Thanks so much hun!!
It's no problem! I'm glad I can provide some comfort!! For each character, I'll use a specific struggling area, to make it a bit easier!! I hope I got these accurate enough, and of there are any mistakes, feel free to point them out!! You are strong, beautiful and so, so amazing!! Keep being you!! ❤❤
Help (The Fellowship// Thorin x Fem!Reader)
Aragorn (Autism)
Tumblr media
Aragorn has known you for a long time, so helping with your autism is not new for him
He's particularly experienced in reading your emotions and meeting your needs, whether it's helping you out of stressful situations or calming you down, he's there 🥺
If there are large and boisterous gatherings in Rivendell, its almost guaranteed that you can become over-stimulated quickly, and Aragorn immediately senses this (spidey senses õoõ)
He's fast to find your hand and give it a gentle squeeze of reassurance
If that doesn't seem to help, he'll instantly stop what he's doing and take you out of the room
If you're someone who prefers lots of space and little physical contact, he is 100% respectful of this and asks if you'll let him touch or hug you (very much gentleman 😌)
If ever you're confronted by someone of importance, Aragorn is right by your side to ease some of the tension
Sometimes there are things you find difficult to say or get out of your system
The king seems to know exactly what it is and will help you out by saying it or asking you simple questions that you can easily answer
And he always reminds you, no matter WHAT
YOU ARE NOT STUPID 😤😡
You may struggle with some parts of your life, but every day, he's constantly telling you that you're very intelligent and kind
His patience is unending and he'll never let you think down on yourself
Overall, Aragorn is always someone and reminding you that it's all going to be okay ❤❤
Legolas (Anxiety)
Tumblr media
Most nights, Legolas keeps watch (since elves don't require much sleep) and notices that you jolt awake out of the random
Now, most of the Fellowship notices that you're usually awake and ready to go before anyone else
But Legolas is really the one to address you first
You were a bit nervous to explain, since you didn't want to worry him or the great of the fellowship, amount the other disadvantages you have
He gently encouraged you, and finally, you explained to him your sleep apnea
Yeah, he was very concerned
I mean, his blue eyes widened with terror when you told him that you could basically die in your sleep if you weren't attentive enough 🙃
Legolas, from now on, sleeps directly next to you, or keeps extra careful watch over you at night
Because he could NEVER see his precious mortal friend become injured... Or worse 🥺🥺❤
The other members had noticed a change in his behaviors towards you as well...
Gimli teased him whenever he caught Legolas giving you some extra lembas bread or offered to carry you 👉👈
You really tried to assure Legolas that it wasn't a big deal when you were awake, since you're aware of your breathing situation
But still 😤
Legolas will always bring you comfort and take great care of you, and that will NEVER CHANGE
Because he loves you very much ❤🦋
Frodo (Anxiety)
Tumblr media
Frodo is familiar with the feeling of great anxiety, seeing he had a stress-free life while living in the Shire and suddenly was forced to carry a piece of jewelry all the way to giant ass volcano
It's easy for you two to comfort each other and seek refuge in thoughts and feelings ❤
He's not super comfortable with the thought of you having a panic attack though...
Only because he's never had one
It starts to give him a panic attack whenever you have one around him the first time 😳-
Any time you begin to breathe heavy or hyperventilate, halfling boy is hot at your heels, rubbing your back and reminding you to breathe gently
(So many hugs, if you're up for it)
After you calm down, he's constantly checking on you, asking if you need anything etc.
Really, he just wants to know if he can help 🥺
And even with the weight and stress of carrying the ring, Frodo manages to cheer you up somehow
Samwise (Asthma)
Tumblr media
Sam has never had to deal with asthma once in his life
He's very nervous when the subject is brought, afraid it might trigger something inside of you 🥺👉👈
But you just chuckle, assure him that it's alright, and you have ways of keeping it under control
And now, he wants to know everything about it, just to have the awareness in case something happens
Sam just wants to protect you forever, and this was a great way for him to start
He constantly reminds Aragorn that you'll need breathing breaks and will convince Gandalf to let you ride on his horse
He'll scold Pip and Merry if they are trying to drag you around and be silly, because as he says
"You'll rouse him/her/them up! We can't have Y/N gettin injured!" 🤨😠
Sam is MOM
As always, he's very kind and always makes sure your needs are met ❤🥺
Pippin and Merry (Raynaud's Syndrome)
Tumblr media
Very confused halfings 🤔
Also extremely concerned!
You were eating one of the lesser pleasurable nights
It was cold and rainy, and a fire couldn't be started, not to mention the quiet arguments of Aragorn and Gandalf in the nearby woods
And Pip's eyes widened when he saw the tips of your petite fingers begin to pale upon hearing Aragorn mention Orcs
"What's wrong with your hands?!" He squeaked, pointing towards your now white-colored fingertips
You hadn't even noticed, nor felt, considering they were numb anyways
Merry looked over his cousin's shoulder and his eyes also widened, not with fright, but wonder
They were both fascinated with your condition, convinced that you were casting some spell Gandalf showed you
Although you reassured them it was just an extremely frustrating inconvenience that you had, among other things
So from then on, the disastrobus duo did their best to keep you out of the cold (and stressful situations!!)
As a distraction, the pair will tell you great stories of the shire, doing little dances and skits that always cheer you up 🥴
Sometimes, they can be a little rambunctious though...
Merry will pick up on this fact quickly, and nudge Pippin to get him to calm down
Even though it may not feel the best
They find your syndrome absolutely fascinating!! 🤔🤔
All in all, these two are always up for keeping your beautiful smile on your face and your spirits high!! ❤🌺
Boromir (Depression)
Tumblr media
Throughout the journey, Boromir has always found an easy way to make you smile
After all, he himself has a fascinating way of brightening anyone's spirits
Yours included ❤
Boromir may not have great stories from The Shire, like Pip and Merry, but he sure has a lot of positive things to say
He'll often suggest sparring with the two troublemaking halflings, just so you can see him goof up and get knocked over 🥺
If the nights become cold and weary, he'll give you a warm hug or a nudge on the shoulder
And a few words of helpful encouragement along the lines of;
"Don't fret Y/N. You have more strength than you'll ever know."
"Let our spirits never dampen! We've come this far!" 😊
He's also an incredible listener
Boromir wants to hear what you have to say if you ever need to rant or get something off of your chest
And don't think for a second that he would ever judge you 😤
Son of Gondor sees past all of your insecurities and knows you for your beautiful, amazing self ❤❤
Gimli (Walking disadvantages)
Tumblr media
As you travel across great plains and mountains, your limp doesn't go unnoticed by Gimli
It may take him a while to open up about it, since he's afraid he might offend you in some way
And once he asks you, you inform him that it's a difficulty that unfortunately cannot be changed any time soon
And where you come from, lots of people tease and bully you about it
He did NOT handle it well 😳
"wHAT BLUBBERING DULL-MINDED PIGNUTS-" 🤬
Although this Dwarf is short and a bit slow at times
He's fascinatingly strong 😳
And so, he makes it his duty to be your designated carrier 🥺
At first, your a tad skeptical...
I mean, he's only around 4 feet tall...
BUT HAVE YOU SEEN HIM THROW THAT HUGE AX AROUND?!
Gimli will happily carry you great distances when you need a break, and even longer
(Sometimes it's just to show off around the others-)
"Gimli, are you sure you don't want a break?"
"Aye lass! The strength of Dwarves is unending!" 😌
*struggling to breathe*
11/10, fantastic dwarf, will never let you down!!
Thorin (Executive Dysfunction)
Tumblr media
Another Dwarf??
Absolutely
Thorin himself has trouble keeping composure with his time management (and sense of direction 🙄)
This means that he'll have an undying amount of patience for you and you only
There's just something about you that he fond of, and it fills in that little sassy, brooding place in his heart
Can also relate to you whenever you grow frustrated at the setback of your journey or lack of sleep
Is 100% willing to help you find your lost belongings (and once again, ONLY YOU)
Thorin will literally make the whole traveling party stop so that you can put something in your bag and make sure that you put it somewhere you'll remember
Always happy to give you extra gentle reminders of keeping your pack closed
The company is utterly SHOCKED with how he treats you
I mean, this man has always been extremely stubborn and hard headed
But when you show up, it's another person he can easily relate and share frustrations with
Also a master at organization?!? 🤔
The one thing he could do successfully was organizing the damn journey and traveling company, so ofc he's gonna be good at that 😂
Yeah, Thorin definitely has a soft spot for you
King under the mountain will never run out of patience and kindness for you 😌💙
Sorry these took so long!! I hope you like them!! ❤❤

When quack-meister was talking about defending the country 'n stuff he mentioned about learning from a pvper... see now I'm a person that likes reaching and I've been lurkin' ur blog for a bit now ( I enjoy your takes a lot :D ) and dare I say.. looter boy reporting for lore..? maybe.. ? It's definitely a reach but maybe this is how H gets back into lore? He did mention returning to the smp soon-ish ( i think ) c!hbomb i want to see you live... - Instyle
Hi Instyle Anon I love you /p
My favorite thing is to make *slight* reach about Hbomb lore that are still somewhat rooted in known facts/canon, and I'm gonna tell you right now, with confidence :D H being involved in Las Nevadas' plot or future DSMP plots, aren't that far-fetched :D
You see you see, while Mister Hbomb Ninety Four isn't *technically* a PvPer, he is by far the worse. In fact, metawise, he's one of the *better* PvPers on the server. Like I talked about this with my friends a lot but, cc!H as a Minecrafter isn't half bad at it, he was one of the people who dealt the most damage to Dream in Dream's Fighting 25 Youtubers video, he's done well in MCC Battle Box, he could definitely hold his ground against at least half of the server. Not to mention, Hbomb has been a coach for a while, so like, teaching Big Q PvP? Why not :D He's more than capable :D
And another meta thing? cc!Quackity said he reached out for people who don't have a lot of lore. H is always involved in lore in the background, but doesn't do a lot of like, solo lore himself, so he is definitely a good contender for c!Quackity to reach out to. And yeah, H definitely did mention/hint that he would return to the DSMP so hype for that! (Also H logged onto the SMP during Fundy's stream after a while not being on - I don't remember which one, but it was either the stream where he first joined Las Nevadas, or the one right after it - and I don't wanna get your hope up, but hey :) It might mean something :D). Also! Also he's in Ponk's lore teaser, so he's definitely gonna be in future lore :D
Ok that's the meta/ooc thing out of the way, here's in-character reasons H might/should get involved into the plot :D
1. c!H has been involved in almost every single major plotlines on the DSMP in Season 2 and 3, except for the prison plot.
c!H is someone who is always in the background of every major events, for two reasons.
a. He wants to be around people and naturally gravitates toward a community. This makes him sad dring Doomsday, because he saw how the server, how people and the community he longs to have, were torn apart. But this makes him come back to help Tubbo and Tommy, because at the end of the day, H still knew and saw them as "people", flawed, did things that hurt him, but still people who needed and deserved his help. Even when he's alone, he still helps people and thinks about his friends.
b. He's just... there in the events with a bunch of people. (Which, I guess, is more like... an extension of the first reason lmao). c!H wants to party /hj. So like, where has a bunch of people right now who's doing lore??? Las Nevadas. Not to mention, it's a casino. It's a whole party. c!H is gonna want to be there!
2. c!Hbomb is pretty good at calling out when people are not being kind/when people are wrong.
c!H is pretty observant and mostly objective, and he is the type of person who will not let himself or his friends be walked over or manipulative. The most notable example is when he said that c!Tommy is not nice to him (which is true, c!Tommy has the tendency to be rude and bully H), and when he called out Niki for her reaction to Tommy (citing that she was doing a bad thing to Tommy, and it wouldn't lead to good things).
In Las Nevadas situation right now, there are two people/situation who need to be called out: Tubbo and Ranboo (or the cookie post situation) and Quackity (the manipulation of the rest of Las Nevadas). c!H can definitely call out the malicious intent and unfair suspicion c!Tubbo casts upon Las Nevadas as well as c!Ranboo's complete lack of spine and hypocricy. But he can also definitely see how Quackity is using the Las Nevadas crew's vulnerability to manipulate them, and because he is close to Fundy, and Foolish (although to a lesser extent), he can probably approach them and talk to them about that. He did cautioned Niki on Wilbur possibly using her to fight his battle for him, so it's not unreasonable to think he would do similar thing with Fundy and Foolish.
3. On that notes, c!H is kind, not nice. He can and will fight for the people he support.
Most notable example is H helping Eret taking down Mexican L'Manberg when they attacked Eret's kingship - because it is the right thing to do, it is what H considered to be both justice and supporting his friend.
Second example is H helping during the Finale of Season 2, because protecting Tommy and Tubbo, joining the server against Dream, was the right thing to do. At that point, he has left the main part of the DSMP, but he returned and fought. Because he understood the importance and fighting for what is right.
This means that when he sees a cause to fight for, in this case, his friends (Fundy and Foolish), he will help them and fight for them. c!H is probably the best example of "choose people, not sides" because he understand choosing people means standing by their sides, and fight with them.
And lastly?
4. cc!Hbomb said he'd rather be a support character. But hey, H, there are some people in Las Nevadas who are in desperate need of some Hbomb-certified support.

My last hot takes:
- this I believe is a similar opinion to what an anon said but I believe the Kpop industry is over saturated. There are sooooo many groups, and while I do believe some of these groups are good, and serve up something different than the standard Kpop sound, there are just so many kind of doing the same thing but not as good. A few sub points off of this:
A lot of groups that have debuted over the past couple of years need more training and their company pushed them to debut too soon. Many companies focus too much on the business side and not the music.
Idols are debuting too young. Just because we’ve had young idols (like taemin) doesn’t justify debuting someone that young. Especially with them being marketed to women older than them. Like that’s a legit child. The mental health will suffer on top of other things.
Not only is there an over saturation and a lot of too young idols, idols are being debuted without receiving enough training and it shows. Like yeah sometimes an idol has that spark and doesn’t need long to debut, but that is so rare tbh.
Fans of these lesser known groups are kind of toxic. Like all these idols work so hard no matter what group or company they are at but at the end of the day some are truly not good enough to make it. And theses fans of them will literally hype of everything. But the few times I’ve checked out a lesser known group 99.9% of the time they absolutely sucked. And while that may seem harsh. It’s the truth.
- Everyone talks about the “sexual ISAT Jon”(okay I’m leaving that auto correct right there in “” cause wtf was my phone tryna do? Did I really misspell sexualization that bad??) of female idols (and I 100% that they can be and are sexualized though someone of them want to be sexy and they have the right to be. I hate the forced cuteness put on them). But so many overlook the sexualization of male idols. (This isn’t coming from a sole BG stan, I also listen to a lot of GG). And I’m not necessarily talking about the fanfic and smut. Like you can write that without over sexualizing an idol. But some writers, general BG blogs, and “fans” take it so super far. I’ve come across some gross stuff. ALSO the sexualization of these young idols. These 14-18 year olds being done up in a sexy way to please noona fans. Like they are children.
Another also. I find idols to truly be sexy and look good at 24-32 years old and think more idols should debut around the age of 24. I mean to bring some specific ages of men I like, the ages 24, 27, and 29/30 being looking real good.
I love that you're letting it all out tn lol
There are so many new groups I've lost care to track them all. Every time I turn around there's three new groups debuting, and then a few months later they're disbanding bc they're not catching people's attention. Everyone's going for that badass and edgy concept/sound and it's just like the same groups debuting over and over again.
Also, idols are debuting way to young now!! Taemin was already too young when he debuted and now they're like "he's only three years younger than Taemin"... excuse??? Get that child into school or something, my god.
Do you know how long it took me to figure out you were saying oversexualization? And then when I did, how loud I laughed at the typo? Lmao
A lot of boy groups are oversexualized (especially younger ones which?? Ewe). If they're okay with the concept, more power to them 100%, but if they're not, then I can only imagine having to talk yourself into doing something you're uncomfortable with.
I agree that older idols are attractive 🤤🤤. When they come back from enlistment?? Like hello sir?? 2pm?? Calm down, my god. Exo when they come back?? Nothing will mentally prepare me.

I 100% agree with you on the *** thing. I can't even count the amount of times I've checked the got7 tag only to find a handful of posts blocked because of it and it's honestly starting to kind of annoy me, too. Also, the new Antipathy chapter is great as always!! I swear, the one time I read fluff, it's because of you. 💓💫 🌻
Did you just star the word BTS, lmao, I’m cracking up. :D
But this is a serious issue and it’s getting worse today because of the comeback. Guys, I was a BTS stan long before I was a GOT7 stan. One of my first Kpop experiences was rewinding the Boy in Luv MV a million times so I could see the three seconds of Jin’s solo shot and his gorgeous face, okay? I cried when they won the Billboard awards last year.
BUT STOP EXPECTING OTHER GROUPS TO CARE. There is an insane amount of BTS posts out there right now because of the comeback and if people are going to tag other lesser known groups in their tags then those tags are going to be flooded with BTS content! I literally found a post that was talking SOLELY about the BTS comeback and it was tagged ‘got7 smut’. I would love to see where GOT7 having sex shows up in the Fake Love MV, really, just point Jaebum’s dick out to me. I will have a field day.
Thanks for the Antipathy love, lmao. (Did I say it was pure fluff? I wouldn’t jump to such conclusions if I were you. I don’t write pure fluff and you will find that out soon.)
I’m tagging this as BTS because nobody’s even going to notice it and it will drown in the BTS tag, but it’ll probably stay up on the GOT7 tag at least until tomorrow, lmao.
