Oscar: Hey, man-.. didn’t think you’d be here ‘til later.
Ivan: I lost my fuckin’ phone.
Oscar: Again?
Ivan: Will y’ping it on that thing for me?
Oscar: If it’s in your garage again, I swear…
Ivan: The bastard thing ain’t in there-.. just fuckin’ ping it!
Oscar: Okay, okay.. keep your knickers on, geez.
Ivan: I could’a done without this today.
Oscar: You’re gonna have to start thinking about your blood pressure one day, chill out.
Ivan: Yeah, yeah-.. where is it?
Oscar: Uh, Oasis Springs..?
Ivan: No, it ain’t!
Oscar: Well, it is.
Ivan: What the…
Oscar: Say bye-bye phone.
Ivan: God fuckin’ dammit-.. someone must’ve nicked it.
Oscar: That’ll teach you.
Ivan: [groans] For fuck’s sake.
Oscar: Don’t mind uncle Ivan’s terrible language.
Ivan: Yours ain’t no better.
Oscar: What’ve you done-.. why do you look guilty?
[Robin balked, lamenting the lack of control he had over his own face; he definitely had some work to do there]
Robin: I don’t!
Oscar: Uh-huh-.. who’s done what?
[Robin hastily thought of something innocuous that’d still annoy his father enough to distract him whilst he escaped]
Robin: Uh-.. I ate the last éclair.
Oscar: You little shit…
Robin: My bad!

they need to create more tragically romantic betrayals. Someone gently kissing their loved ones cheek as they tie them to a prison they will never get out of but have to be in “for their own safety.” Someone laying out their neck for their loved one to slash because they are the only one they’d trust to do it. Whatever the fuck Anthy from Revolutionary Girl Utena did where she kissed Utena’s shoulder and lowered her gently down to the ground while also stabbing her through the stomach. That can never be outdone I think.

I am gripped by the idea of Kas!Steve.
But specifically...broken Steve, who’s been tortured and tormented and mind-controlled by Vecna, until he’s been sharpened into a weapon, his old King Steve persona pulled on like reshaped armor but now so much worse than Steve himself had ever been.
Kas!Steve who’s cocky and smug, who spews every cruel thought the gang has ever worried he’s had about them, clawing at each one of their insecurities with piercing accuracy. Because he knows them, from years of being friend and confidante. Their beating hearts, their strengths and weaknesses. So he taunts Robin by spilling every precious secret they’ve shared. Mocks Dustin and all the kids for being pathetic and snot-nosed, following in his footsteps like lost puppies. Needles Eddie about how obvious his crush on him is. Tells Nancy it really is their fault, what happened to Barbara all those years ago.
And it’s all so pointed, feels so specific, so...real, the group can’t help the worry that gnaws at each of them (just like Vecna would want), that this is what Steve really thinks.
Even more so when some of his barbs draw attention to the ways they’ve treated him. When Steve laughs at the thought of them overpowering him when for years they’ve been relying on him to be the tank, to take all the hard licks. Do they really think they can take him down? Like this? It’s as comical as it is pathetic, this new, dark Steve, the betrayer, the bloody, tells them, and Dustin sees the way that Nancy flinches, catches Robin’s pained eyes, guilt gripping each of their throats.
The question lingers, even hours after Steve has slunk back into the shadows, another battle they barely scraped out of alive behind them.
How will they do this without Steve?

QSMP Elections are going to make the server so MESSY. AND I’M HERE FOR IT!
Already we see BBH saying “it’s a game about killing people,” willing to take out competition to get Skeppy in, REMOVING his Ordo Theoritas stasis chamber ender pearl in case someone tries to ambush assassinate him that way, contemplating removing everyone from his allowlist at his homes… Entering his uber-paranoid villain arc for his little diamond buddy
And then there’s the absolute POWERHOUSE that will be Cellbit and Forever (assuming they’ll work together), with Forever likely going to bring Brunim in. Meaning BBH will be facing off against Forever to get the people they want on the island, which will significantly change their relationships with each other and their friends
Not to mention the De Luque Mafia Family can actually do some damage, and if Cellbit marries Roier then EVERYONE is gonna have to watch their backs, what with the Masked Mine Placer and Foolish having a glock

when york reveals to carolina that he’s helping tex and you can hear the emotion in lina’s voice when she says “what are you doing here? why are you helping her“ is something that means so much to me
she’s just so taken aback and horrified that someone she trusts and cares about so much would willingly side with tex, not to mention the fact that it’s /york/ who she loves but won’t let herself be with and he’s just confirming all of her worst fears - that love destroys and you will always be hurt and betrayed by the ones you let close

D&d vampiric lore and Astarion.
I see a lot of people commenting on Astarion's good & bad ending (this is your chance to run from a spoiler) and if they're truly in-character or canon or make narrative sense.
And while there is a lot to say about his personal narrative and the motif of the cycle of abuse, the influence those around us have on us, not being able to see kindness as an option if it's never been shown to you, etc... One of the things I've seen very few people mention is that because of the setting, he really never stood a chance.
Vampires in dungeons and dragons aren't like those in other media. They're not twillight vampires or even anne rice vampires. It is well established in the lore and it has been for years, that true vampires in d&d aren't fully autonomous people with their own nuanced moral codes. Vampires in d&d are completely obsessed with power, paranoid and greedy, to the point that it erases who they were in their mortal life. They are fully evil and fully corrupt. No matter what they were like in life. You could be the goodest aligned person on Faerun, a true hero and defender of the powerless. And if you got turned into a true vampire, that goodness would still completely cease to exist.
That is not to say that vampires don't have personalities. Obviously they are all unique and have their own tastes, personalities and agendas. They retain knowledge and attachment to what was important to them in life (be it people, goals, places, etc.) but those bonds are as corrupt as they are. They don't get to keep the same feelings and ideas they had in life.
We can't argue about what makes narrative sense for a character without taking into account the setting he exists in. And because of the very setting we play in, there was never any possibility of Astarion becoming a true vampire (ascendant through the ritual or a regular one), turning the player into a true vampire as well and living happily ever after, be it in a good campaign or in an evil one. The setting just doesn't allow for it, because the moment he becomes a true vampire, the Astarion we know is truly dead and gone.
