Something fun about working admin in STEM is that sometimes you'll need to get a tag for a diamond-tipped quantum matter cutter so you go down into the basement laserpaleomagnetics lab and it is one of the nicest smelling rooms you've ever been in. So of course you say wow this room smells so nice and the harried PhD candidate working down there (who hates the diamond-tipped quantum matter cutter because it takes up so much counter space) is like oh. I never noticed. What does it smell like? And then when you say it smells like rocks but really good rocks this woman who has spent her entire adult life in this room cannot dive over the counter and get you because she still needs you to process her corporate card for this month
