CONGRATS ON ALHAITHAM!!! my xiao came home too, but not before c2 diluc :') also, i have a request! been having some uhh negative experiences around food lately so. chubby!reader going out to a meal with some friends or coworkers who keep making snide remarks? stuff like "should you really be eating that?" or "that explains a lot" + wanderer, thoma, childe, beidou, and tighnari (love the way you write him!!) reacting to that? sorry for the slightly angstier request, hopefully this is ok!! if not then pls feel free to ignore. thank u for everything u write <3

wanderer instantly goes postal when someone says something like that to you. "what the hell do you think you're saying? you flap your jaws without understanding what you're even saying. what a waste of space." he does literally everything he can to make the offender uncomfortable and if they don't let up he doubles down on his insults to counter. he's definitely at risk of going a step too far and seriously hurting the person who hurt you. he'll defend his actions until the day he dies, though.

thoma's eyes get dark when your company makes that sort of comment. "excuse me, but I think that was out of line. would you like to rephrase and apologize?" seeing someone as cheerful as thoma have such a drastic tone change is usually enough to make anyone bothering you recant, but on the off chance it doesn't thoma will literally kick them out if you're eating at your place/a restaurant or take your hand and leave if it's at theirs. they also might find it's a little harder to make friends in the area if they won't apologize, since a certain someone has so many connections...

tartaglia laughs, but in a venomous way. "maybe you should focus on your own plate, comrade...unless you're asking for a fight." he's the most likely to actually throw a punch, and has zero problems making a scene. he will NOT stand for you being treated that way, and he's happy to throw his weight around to make sure you get treated with the respect you deserve. if you feel uncomfortable eating the rest of the time, he definitely grabs your favorite takeout and crashes with you to eat and watch a movie to decompress. he might have to ice his bruised fist, though.

beidou's eyes just narrow. "I consider myself to be pretty lenient when it comes to letting people speak their mind, but you're just hurting someone else. shut up, will you?" she ends up scooting closer to you and resuming whatever conversation you were having before, her boisterous laughter drowning out anything the person might follow up with. beidou is sort of the life of the party--if she shuts someone out of a conversation, others will follow suit. the offender is NOT going to get another word in edgewise, and beidou is going to make sure you still have a good time.

tighnari whips out his phone and opens a medical journal he's been reading. "your comment is unnecessary and goes against what is becoming commonly accepted in the medical profession. I don't expect someone with your low level of BASIC understanding to be able to read this, but from the few words you'll be able to pick up you can EASILY see that using health concerns as a way to excuse your nastiness is just asinine." he's often one of the smartest people in the room, and he knows how to shut down persistent people. he's in academia--he knows the egotistical type very well. after he's educated the offender into silence, he'll turn to you and smile, asking if your food is good and breaking the last of the tension the other person wrought. don't mess with an academic.

New year's gift to you and me:

Overanalyzed yandere Columbina and arlecchino.

There is no doubt in my mind that these two bishes would work together. If there's anything hoyoverse is good at it is confirming characters are gay without actually confirming it.

From watching hundreds of videos of people talking about the harbingers, It seems like arlecchino is a mother type figure to many people. Childe's voice line says that she's someone who does not seem trustworthy or loyal, scaramouches says that we should definitely be cautious of her and the she puts on a facade meaning she'll probably act nice to us at first. As much as I love the thought of her being in Fontaine it's way more likely she'll be in natlan with her soldier theme. More time to save for her c6 I guess. The leaks from twitter says that she's a control freak and demands perfection. Taking all of this together I think she would be a controlling yandere, someone that puts you beneath her, while slowly training you to act the way she wants. My personal headcanon is that she's really into corporal punishments, often bending you over her knees and swapping your bottom until your crying for her to stop. Another thing is she would keep you close at all times, your not allowed to look at anyone but her and doing so would make her very angry, let's say you'd probably get out with a broken bone. I personally don't like writing nswf but I occasionally add little bits but I totally think she'd use edging as a punishment if you liked sex.

Columbina is a bit harder to work with I know there's some leaks from twitter but I forgot them so if someone could tell me it be very appreciated. In the fatui video she's litterly just singing which makes me think she has some sort of power with her voice, she also appears to be a little sassy because of what she said to dottore at the end of the video. Both childe's and scaramouches voice lines state that she is very dangerous with scaramouche hinting that she looks very weak at first sight but is really really strong. Like arlecchino taking this together I imagine her to be the type of yandere to lure you in, making you think that she is innocent and the moment you realize she's not it'll be far too late. Totally the type to kidnap you and force you to fatui harbinger meetings, goes out of her way to scare you and even trick you into doing things so she can punish you. In a way her punishments are way worse then arlecchino's. No you don't get hurt physically she messes with your mind, forcing you to watch your worst nightmares while your screams haunt everyone while she's gleefully singing a terrifying song. Demanding cuddler, if your not in bed cuddling her when she demands it things will get a bit bloody, if you can't fall asleep don't worry she'll force fully sing you to sleep. I like to imagine she'd put you to sleep eternally, putting you under a curse so you'll never wake up and she'll keep you as a cute obedient dolly.

Arlecchino and Columbina working together headcanons: these two are hopelessly in love, I love to think the arlecchino will bride carry Columbina with a love sick smile on your face, while blood is covered on both of them. Arlecchino worships Columbina, anything for her. ANYTHING. Eventually they get a little board, they need something to coddle, something to torment, something a little human. Then you come along a cute little niave innocent weak human. Arlecchino found you first, quickly taking you to her orphanage and making you a servant, she quickly drills into you that obedience is the number one thing and to do otherwise will have consequences, very serious consequences. One day Columbina comes to see arlecchino and decides to make you her new pet. Suddenly being kidnapped by some weird angel women freaks you out a lot but seeing arlecchino there will freak you out even more. Basically there the perfect wives and your there dog or cat to do whatever they want. Columbina switches between coddling you to tormenting you.

Whose more likely to do certain things?

Whose more likely to kill you? Columbina, like a said earlier she's perfectly fine turning you into a dolly even if that doll is lifeless.

Whose more scary? Columbina, unlike arlecchino who immediately gives away just how scary she is Columbina hides it, making It a lot hard to predict what she'll do.

Whose shed more blood for you: arlecchino, arlecchino is a lot more likely to travel out of sneznayha so she's definitely had more access to people that have messed with you, Columbina doesn't appear to like travel so she can really only kill people in snezhneya

Most likely to let you go: arlecchino. They say when a divine being has found something they like they will never let it go so Columbina is not letting you go. Arlecchino has a chance to betray the fatui so she might have a change of heart and let you go.

Whose more likely to kidnap you: Columbina no questions asked.

Whose more likely to kill another harbinger if they got close to you: arlecchino: Columbina has a large tolerance and most of the time she really doesn't care. I can imagine arlecchino killing Childe or pantalone if they got to close to you.

Nswf questions

Who tops: most of the time arlecchino she's probably the handsome women that refuses to be on the bottom. Columbina is mostly a bottom, except for some very selective times where she goes a little crazy and wow I pray for your bottom half when that happens.

Edging or overstimulation: edging both of them, sadism. No other words needed.

Imagine coming home after getting you butt beat by the raiden shogun and arlecchino is suddenly protective of you. People say that she is an angel and I believe that, maybe she originally worked for someone with a bunch of other people before realizing some was wrong and leaving them. Imagine you were one of her colleagues and you were super nice to her, you also had no idea about the corrupt organization your were working for so she thought of you as a pure innocent person unsuitable for work. So when she betrayed that organization and joined the fatui she dragged you down with her, never letting you leave her side.

pulling for nahida! im like 50-60 pulls in and have a guarantee saved for nahida (i skipped her banner last time for scaramouche), im skipping nilou bc i already got nilou on her first banner and dont plan on constellations

once nahida is acquired ill farm thoroughly so i can spend all of my primo savings on kaveh until hes C6 😌

maybe im lucky enough to lose my 50/50 to get dehya and then baizhu, that would be ideal ahskxnx (i already have ganyu and am not interested in her cons so getting dehya or baizhu cons i would be fine with as long as my master architect gets to be C6 😤)

i'm trying to motivate myself to farm his bis set but it's honestly really hard (ar 59, burnt out as hell). That and I don't really have a team comp built around bloom reactions so it's not as efficient.

Also the information I give below is my personal suggestion, also gotten from several guides I've followed.

As of now, I'd recommend a mix of any of the 2-pieces between the ones that give +15% anemo damage bonus and +18% atk, or 4 piece shimenawa, if you don't mind not having his burst up as much. Obviously the newest one is the best for him but ya girl's tired™ with artifact farming so he'll take what he can get for now.

For weapons, aside from his signature, all of the 5-star catalysts with atk/crit substats can work for him (kagura's, lost prayer, skyward atlas). 4 stars include the dodoco tales, the widsith, solar pearl, and mappa mare—the blackcliff catalyst works too but it's not as viable.

The team comps... Imma be honest with you, mine is also clunky. It's recommended that you have a good shielder because he's super vulnerable to getting interrupted— i haven't tried him out for abyss because I don't have a good comp for him, and also because faruzan never came home (plus apparently she's only good at c6) so his damage isn't like floor 12 clear worthy just yet. One team comp I wanted to try is double pyro + anemo with venti, bennett and ideally thoma for the shield, but I don't have thoma built 💀 there are others like a taser team with a hydro character + two electro ones (ex. Fischl + beidou), but again, ideally he needs a shield and I don't have beidou built either. Another is freeze with layla, but I don't have her. I have diona built but her shield isn't as strong.

TL;DR I don't have a solid group recommendation, sorry ;-;

Anyway yeah, here's my take on his builds. You can probably find tons of these in the internet already, anyways. Sorry for rambling in your inbox!

Weapon wise I managed to get his signature so I'm alright with that.

I'm gunna put a keep reading on here so it's not too long

Artefacts...Well, just like you it'll take some time to farm the new domain so I've slapped a 4pc Viridescent on him for now. But also I don't really know if I want the new artefact on him, I know it's the ideal one but I think Viridescent is better for elemental reactions and I love playing with that (except that I don't even have much proper elemental reactions with his current team comp, lol. So I'm still going to farm for the new artefact)

I also wanted to do double pyro with benny and thoma but just like you my thoma isn't built and I don't think I really want to build him if he's not a very flexible team player (e.g. If I can't put him in other teams I'm not gunna bother) So my current team for Scara right now is Yunjin (for the Normal Attack and Attack Speed buff) + Zhongli (for the shield) so that gives me double Geo with 15% damage increase and the last character I usually switch it in and out depending on what elemental reaction I want plus the talent effect on Scaramouche. The problem with this team comp is that it doesn't really play a lot with elemental reactions hahaha it just seems very limited, but it works, since my Yunjin and Zhongli has been properly built since forever and they are very flexible characters. Much like you I've been constantly looking at other shielders though, to at least get a non-geo character to be a shield (I always feel like putting a Geo in an anemo forward team is a waste but I don't have a lot of choices at the moment haha)

True that there are a lot of online guides but most of them rely on Faruzan! That and they almost always assume that we have all the characters built and don't really mix and match a lot of diff characters so its nice to hear what others have!

I'm surprised you didn't get Faruzan tho! Haha.... I C6ed her before I even got Scaramouche...I guess he was being real stubborn, lost my 50-50 to Diluc before I got him but eh, I like Diluc.

1. i love spending money on traditional art supplies despite being mainly a digital artist. something about owning lots of brushes and paints just makes me happy :')

2. i developed lactose intolerance in adulthood and now i can't drink milk :(((

3. whenever i hear the words "among us" in any context, my brain switch flips and i am incapable of not making a joke about the game

4. my online nickname "Catnice" is an intentionally misspelled variant of Katniss from the Hunger Games and even i sometimes forget that

5. i spent an unholy amount of money in Genshin Impact and own a c6 Scaramouche (and i always have to tell people because i also saved up for 6 months to get him and i am so proud of it)

6. i had tickets to see my favourite band for over 3 years before i was able to see them thanks to covid :')))

7. i always pick the orange coloured sweets/gummy bears or orange drinks. orange is not even a colour i particularly like but orange food my beloved <3

8. i believe that i must have some sort of luck superpower because so many things in my life have worked out solely out of pure chance.

9. i have tried many crafting hobbies and loved all of them and it makes me incredibly sad that i do not have enough time to pursue them all :'(

but, he also has the AUDACITY to whine and sulk if the other members don't let him in their world.

wouldn't even want a certain character and he'd still pull for them because he likes to collect 5 stars 😧

strategically builds his characters. he first builds his main team and the other characters he switches now and then, depending on the enemy he's fighting. he, then, builds the healers that are left and then the shield users that are left before getting to the characters that he personally fancies.

another person who actually takes some time out to build the prettiest layouts in his serenitea pot.

actually enjoyed the aranara quest because the aranaras are SO cute !!

(I had to take this off of the official numbered list because my rambles are just too rambly, and tumblr started yelling at me......) 1.) my beautiful cinnamon roll too good for this world fave: Bennett!! Bennett, Bennett, Bennett, I choose Bennett-- Also Chongyun and Freminent. Somft boys. Doing their best. Also could kick your ass. Also I have all of them. :3c (...Very sad that I had to take Chongyun off my main team, because Bennett's about to C6 and render him useless.)

2.) my trash-shit fave: I have no idea what this means, but I'm gonna guess that Dottore and Scaramouche belong here-- Especially Dottore; he's the guy giving me the MOST brainworms right now. (But I can't share most of the brainworms because I'd have to explain all the reasons why my version of him turned out the way he did, then be told I'm wrong anyway, so.) Anyways, I love Scaramouche/Wanderer's entire story, I love that he Has Problems but those problems aren't JUST that he's a little asshole bitch for no reason like fandom keeps trying to claim. Also I want!! Playable Dottore!! I want him so bad. Sure sure, to some people having him redeemed would be soooooo boring, but- Personally, I only have a certain amount of fun with villains that are villains for the evulz, and I LOVE characters with Potential (potential for both better and worse, sometimes even for the same reasons); also a lot of certain little details about Dottore gives me the vibes that he isn't the one-note crazy man basically everyone writes him as, which is apparently, supposedly backed up by the actual og Chinese writing of a few things. And I genuinely think that ANY way they go about redeeming him/making him playable -- be it revealing Tragic Backstory reasons, or a begrudging process, or "well I've decided I like and respect you, so sure, I'll behave, for now >:)" -- would be interesting no matter what they go for!! ...I'm genuinely gonna cry a bit if they do opt to just kill him off ;v; but if Gensh goes that route, I do hope it's at least to an epic boss fight or something. Full monster transformation, if possible.

3.) my I love to hate them fave: God, I have no idea, I'm not usually the type outside of very specific characters. I guess Signora might qualify? ...I'm not gonna earn much love with that one-- She's just, like...tragic backstory? Check. Pretty lady with beautiful theming and massive tits? Check. Front-story bitch? Yeah that's pretty fun! ...Why is it so hard to force her character to shift in writeys. Like, even thinking about alternate ways events could go on my own, it's like...she owns her own girlboss so hard, it borders on Ungrateful behavior (which tends to be one of the few kinds of behaviors characters can have that grind on my nerves). Apparently there's a chance she might get revived in Natlan, and honestly I'm hoping. I don't think it'll be the worst thing in the world if it doesn't happen, but I sure would like the excuse to put her back in the oven to bake some more, without having to wait for my brain to become actually hooked on her to do it.

4.) my I hate to love them fave: This one's gonna sound weird; Faruzan. ...Okay, okay, let me explain- So, y'all know how Faruzan had a boosted drop rate when Wanderer was first released? (...And I think it happened again when his banner came back around, but that's not important--) I was. SO. DAMN. DESPERATE. to get Wanderer. I had picked out a name for him months in advance (well, tentatively; some leaks a friend was looking at said you could name him, and I wasn't 100% convinced but I wanted to be PREPARED in case it really was true, and then it was!), both of my friends (including Devoid here <3) were pulling for him as well, and both got him before I did, which intensified my desire to get him. I had been saving up. I was doing SO MANY TEN PULLS. And I got. SO. MANY. FARUZANS. I think I had one ten pull that was, like, four Faruzans in a row. I had her C6'd extremely early on into my pulls, and then she just kept showing up. It was driving me mad. I don't really get too bothered by a character's in-game actions unless they're a specific kind of irksome, but messing with my pulls? That bothers me a lot-- Eventually I did get Wanderer, but I'd also gotten like...twenty or forty Faruzans in the process or something like that. It was ridiculous. And I was all set to just hate her forever. ...But then, like...her hangout comes out and that was really good. And then the event with Wanderer, Kaveh, Tighnari, and everyone happened, and THAT was also really good, and she's so affectionate towards Collei and hnnnnnn...Why's she have to be such a good character with such great taste in other characters?? Save me--

5.) my I wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire non-fave: So, you know how I said that character actions don't tend to bother me outside of certain traits? Fucking. Royce. I hate Royce. I mean- I view Benny's entire ex-team rather unfavorably, but Royce's "almost-has-a-realization-just-to-backtrack-and-yell-at-Benny-again" behavior drives me up the goddamn wall. I'm sure there's other NPCs that piss me off but no one else I can remember by actual actions or name. I do have some playable characters I don't really like at all, but this category is very strongly worded for those feelings. (No hate to any Royce fans out there >////////< And also apologies, but this is probably the only time I'm gonna talk about him anyway, at least by name)

6.) my I didn’t care about them either way at first but the fandom makes such a big deal about them now I can’t stand them non-fave: I've been avoiding most fandom content precisely for this reason!! (...Unfortunately I've still gotten exposed to a bunch of shitty fan takes, but it for the most part hasn't shaken my character opinions much. My ship opinions however...) ...The most popular takes of Scaramouche and Dottore (by fans and non-fans alike) have only further solidified my personal vibes of wanting them more sympathetic and avoiding one-note portrayals like the plague. Signora has been on thin ice for a while because so many people are really fucking aggravating in regards to her, but she's yet to budge because I do feel mildly compelled about her. So hopefully that sticks. But I WILL absolutely despise Capitano out of sheer fan spite if he's revealed to be the 1st Harbinger, and there's a ~secret 10th Harbinger~, that is just, like...It's almost kinda neat, but so many people are being so bullheaded and shitty about it (mostly on reddit, I think), to the point it's invaded the wiki that I otherwise really respect for all the work that goes into it, that he just better fucking be the 10th or I will be UPSET.

7.) my I could take them or leave them kinda non-fave: Honestly, most of the cast. Up until about Sumeru, I really only cared about 2-5 characters per nation. Then with Sumeru and Fontaine, they've really knocked it out of the park with characters I absolutely adore and only one or two that kinda just fade out of my memory. I won't say which ones. !!!!!! IMPORTANT NOTE!! This has nothing to do with writing quality or design quality or "oh my subjective opinion is absolute fact and anyone who disagrees with me is a dumb stupid idiot with no taste" or anything like that- It's just that I wasn't vibing too strongly with most characters; not for any necessary particular reason or failure on Mihoyo's part or anything like that. Just how it turned out.

8.) my I will go down with this ship and I won’t put my hands up and surrender, there will be no white flag above my door. I’m in love and always will be fave ship: Dottore x Scaramouche is my BIGGEST ship right now, especially onesided. Especially reluctantly reciprocated. Primarily on Dottore's side. Also Fem Traveler/Lumine/Lillian x Everyone. Also Enjou x his weird "go ahead and beat me up" fetish-- Keep being funky you strange, fiery demon man. Love him. (Also Alhaitham x Kaveh, though I generally don't like looking at the fandom art for it unless my friend handpicks out the art for me, because their ver of Kaveh did irreversible damage to my brain and now when I see trans!Alhaitham and cis!Kaveh, my brain gets SO CONFUSED. It's just like "????? But that should be reversed, tho, obviously???" Like...no brain...it's not obvious. It's fine. You're just Attached.)

9.) my dirtybadwrong fave ship: Apparently Scaramouche/Kabukimono x Niwa is real controversial, which is very sad because I fucking love it, and also it seems like such an obvious and easy-to-like pick to me :P Also Kaeya x Diluc, which I know would/will? get me headhunted if this post shows up for the majority of the fandom. I'm probably forgetting a good amount of ships at the moment, but... (+ Bonus for both 8 and 9, but my extra myriad of Dottore ships where I'd probably have to explain how I ended up where I ended up, which means I'd have to explain the way I write Dottore, which means I'd have to explain-) ...Also Neuvillette x Furina APPARENTLY fucking qualifies, because as we all know, if the girl is short and cute and femme, she's automatically a child!! :) Don't y'all totes know she's Neuvillette's little baby girl daughter and not an adult and totally wasn't RUNNING AN ENTIRE NATION AS THEIR ARCHON for LITERAL FUCKING CENTURIES? Nope! Neuvillette, the person that totally wasn't working under her that entire time, has all the power in that dynamic, and totes sees her as a daughter, so it's problematic!!

10.) my they’re cute together and I dig them but I’m not all that terribly invested kinda fave ship: Most ships in the fandom, tbh. See- the problem is I don't really like protag Aether takes, and I'm just amicable to about 70% of the cast. And I might be a massive multishipping slut with few standards, but I do need to Feel Something towards characters to then Feel Something towards the ships, and when the general vibes I have with a character is "ah, they're neat" or "I like 'em well enough" or even "I don't really like them", that's just the kind of ~amicable vibes~ that lends to me going "that's cute! ...Anyway"

11.) my I didn’t care about this ship either way at first but the fandom makes such a big deal about it now I can’t stand it non-fave ship: Well, I have two. I won't say one because I think my vaguing gets more obvious if I say it outright, but someone I was following seriously bashed [ship I like a lot] while going "why dont people like THIS ship instead??? It's WAY BETTER!!", and. lemme tell you. If you want me to UTTERLY DESPISE your fave character or ship, the best way to do that is praise your fave while bashing another character or ship!! Fuck me, it doesnt even have to be a character or ship I even like, but for some reason it always fucking is. Like the sheer amount of people that go "Why dont people like [character] more??? They're much better than ITTO!!" like. 1. fuck you. 2. Itto has a MUCH LOUDER presence than whatever character you're trying to praise. 3. why does everyone always try to go after [specific ship I like a lot], or Itto? It's always them. Like they're making some big sweeping statement of "oh THAT dumb thing is getting attention for no reason!!" when like...entertainment factor, you knuckleheads. They're just onscreen and instantly make an impression. I'm really, really sorry your fave doesn't get as much attention, I get it, I really do, I've had barely popular/outright bashed faves before, but y'all actively hurt your case rather than helping it when you try to tear other characters/ships down to build yours up. I get that you're frustrated, but it's not fucking helping. Cut that shit out and then get back to me. Anyways. The other one that bothers the shit out of me for far more petty reasons is Wriothesley x Neuvillette, which. I feel bad about, to be fair. I feel sorta guilty for not liking it, because it definitely has potential. There's just one problem-- one of my biggest fucking pet peeves is ship bashing/attempted ship sinking (-gestures at my sarcasm a bit earlier-, which also sums up half of why I despise "child-coding" and "oh!! this small girl character is TOTES the daughter to these two gay men and definitely not responsible or mature in her own right uwu totally needs to be babysat by her two gay dads!!") in conjunction with people obsessing over other ships, and with Wriotheo and Nuevy, it started BEFORE the update happened and we actually saw any interactions. Like. I get it. They're two hot men and gay ships are hella popular. But with it occurring way before the update, thus way before any canonical interactions, it just felt like people were fucking desperate to make sure neither character could be straight-shipped with the two "children" they were actually working with (two full-ass adults, Furina and Sigewinne), which just drives me up the fucking wall. (And I can understand being uncomfortable with shipping characters that kinda resemble children, but I've seen way too many people go above and beyond any reasonable reaction to that sorta thing.) I want to like this ship. I really do. It could definitely be really good. But it's gonna take, like, a year or two, when we're in Snezhnaya and my frustration becomes a petty dumb memory instead of something I want to rant over. (...I'm sure this is gonna come back to bite me pretty hard, 'cause if this post makes the rounds people are gonna rush to be like "oh you're not OPPRESSED by gay ships!!" -> No one ever says they are unless they're a real smooth-brained fuckhead, "Oh, so we can't just have fun anymore??" -> I'm apparently not allowed to have fun, so neither are y'all. :\ If I can take fifty-million fans constantly trying to call me a terrible person for liking any of the ships and characters and takes I like, y'all can take one "this got on my nerves and I'm still mad even though I know it's dumb and petty")

12.) my MAKE IT STOP non-fave ship: Ready for me to burn another bridge? ...Can't stand Yae Miko x Raiden Shogun. Like- I see it, I absolutely see it, and I think it absolutely works, but. well. guess what? Guess that happened?? Shitty fans. Shitty fans that INSIST Yae Miko is canonically a man-hating lesbian and froth at the mouth if you dare even imply she MIGHT be the tiniest bit interested in a guy. I can't quite articulate how much I HAAAAATE when people try to claim their headcanon as canon and then treat other fans like shit for "violating canon" (that doesn't actually exist -- and god, even if it did, some of the behavior I've seen really goes above and beyond any realm of acceptability), and yeah. This is one of the biggest offenders. In general, I've noticed way more vitriol and toxicity out of f/f fans than any other kind of fan lately, and that is...ugh. again, I get it. Out of the ship combinations, f/f is probably the least popular in general and all that, and when you feel like your favorite stuff is getting passed over again and again for stuff you can't see the appeal in (trust me, I can relate, I've been in a LOT of fandoms), it's really, really frustrating. But also can we stop being shitty to other fans over subjective opinions? Fandom's supposed to be fun. I shouldn't feel like every other fan I follow would hate my guts over the pettiest of preference differences. (Yes this goes for more than just f/f fans, ofc, it's just those are the ones I've noticed the most recently.) !!! -> Please don't feel bad about liking any of the ships I listed ;v; For any reason-- I did Not put them down to shame anyone, and I don't judge anyone for liking ships and characters I don't like. I do judge behavior towards other fans, and if someone's really hostile to "competing" ships/characters, that also bothers me, but that's it. It's not the content itself that has or will ever bother me, so I really do hope no one who's reading this feels bad about their preferences...

->-> Primarily Unrelated but One thing that I lovehate about this, aside from the fact that if a bunch of people see this entire thing I'm DEFINITELY getting hatemail/a callout/something, but it also gives the impression I'm massively into m/m, which is amusing and frustrating at the same time. (Not the first time this sort of thing has happened, and I'm always self-conscious about it, because I hate when people have Incorrect Takes about my feelings/opinions, especially when I've openly described them but the other person's like "lol nope, I associate you with this more, so this is the truth now". Hate that shit.)

I'm actually primarily a m/f shipper (which honestly might be more controversial on tumblr, specifically tumblr, I'm not an ignorant dumbass about other places on the internet), that's just not how it turned out for Gensh, where I wound up mostly into the guy characters. Before I got extremely into Scaramouche (and then Dottore), Lumine/Lillian was my primary favorite character and the one I was focused on shipping with. She was also, like...the female character I liked the most, which I'm given to understand is an odd thing to say, I guess? Because western people don't usually like the protags of games?? Which is so weird to me. (<- Fresh off the Persona fandom where the Persona protags are also in my, like, top 5 characters of their respective games, and that is a hugely unpopular take for some reason.) (Though I guess I'm pretty weird in how I tend to play games and develop the protagonist's personality in my head + I usually prefer to play the fem character -> the fem protag of a game tends to be in my top 10 favorite characters)

For anyone curious, my preferences go m/f -> f/f -> m/m (least favorite), but that is also extremely arbitrary because of a few different factors, but primarily because I will write basically anything and everything. If I'm writing it and I'm having fun, then nothing bothers me, and I'll come up with all sorts of ships for all sorts of reasons. (Usually ships occur on a whim during rps, which then makes it hard to explain how I got to that result outside of rps...)

Anyways, I hope I explained my reasonings well enough m(_ _)m I could definitely ruffle more feathers if I, like, posted a character tier list or something, and I'm kinda tempted anyway, because...I dunno, a tiny part of my brain is like "hehe, stick it to the man >:3c", I guess? Despite the fact I would definitely not be actually "sticking it" to anyone, like If no one cared what I thought before, they're super not gonna care after this--

In regard to the Faruzan situation:

There has been a lot of complaining about her, so I want to write it all out. The issue with Faruzan is not any one thing, but rather a combination of bad choices stacked on each other.

1) She has an 80 cost burst but generates only 2 particles, which means she needs huge amounts of ER to run. In itself, this is pretty whatever. Like two thirds of the cast (minimum) have energy issues.

2) Those two particles are locked behind a charged shot, a widely reviled mechanic that caused endless complaints when Sara released. Some people are ok with it, but most aren’t. Even people who use Sara just straight up skip it. Which they can do because Sara’s C2 aaaaand...

3) Sara runs with Raiden and gets her burst filled back up even if she generates 0 particles personally. Gorou runs on a team of 3-4 Geos, who all battery each other. Faruzan doesn’t have those mitigating factors. Of the two Anemo DPS characters, Xiao has to run with a dedicated battery on his team and Scaramouche guides directly tell you to only burst every other rotation because getting it back up every time is too difficult. They can’t even battery themselves, much less Faruzan... their support. Scaramouche’s kit even disincentivizes running more than two Anemo characters because you miss out on one of his buffs (and god help you if you want to run a Geo support).

4) Her buffs are entirely in her burst. Yes, her A1 lets her charged shot give the same buff as her burst, but only for 4 seconds. Even Sara gives 6 seconds of buff, and her tengu lightning explicitly has a delay before it comes down, so that you can switch characters and use they skill/burst just as it hits, enjoying the entire duration. You can even buff different characters on her skill and her burst if you want to. And Gorou doesn’t have this issue since he has 10s duration of his skill, which can more or less cover Itto’s 11s burst, since I believe the buff also has a 2 sec duration before expiring.

These things combined make Faruzan extremely difficult to use, and none of her cons before C6 mitigate it. Her buffs are good, but not if she can’t reliable use them outside of a very specific and awkward setup.

And then you get to her C6. And it’s just insulting.

5) Sara and Gorou C6 give element-specific Crit DMG too. But that’s ALL they do. There’s nothing else in those C6s, at all.

Faruzan’s C6 gives her Anemo Crit DMG buff, but it also solves her awkward buff range issues AND gives her CC AND solves her energy issues AND turns her into a battery AND gives her additional buffing option (Tenacity). All at the same time.

It’s like... they had a kit in mind, and then they stripped down all of it in order to stuff it into a single con.

Getting a 4 star’s C6 is an insane RNG exercise, even when you’re down for the banner 5 star. I will never forget how I went to 80 + 74 on Zhongli’s 2022 Lantern Rite banner and got ONE SINGLE copy of Xingqiu the entire way through. I got 8 Yanfei and 8 Beidou, but 1 Xingqiu. That could be Faruzan for any Scaramouche wanter. And if you’re a Xiao main (or, god save you, a Heizou main) who doesn’t even want the rate up 5 stars? There’s even online stories about people getting to C6 Scaramouche before C6 Faruzan. All while she’s almost certainly locked to his banners, just like Gorou and Sara are locked to Itto and Raiden, so the opportunities for her cons are few and far between.

Being blunt...

Faruzan’s burst should have never been that weird polyhedron with the triangle movement pattern. It should have always triggered repeated collapses around the on-field character. That’s how Gorou’s burst works, functionally: his skill but it follows you. And her cons should have then added to the collapses’ functionality, something like C1 increased burst duration, C2 suction, C4 energy gen, C6 Crit DMG.

Yes, you’d have energy issues to C4 that way, yes, that is separate from the charged shot issue, but at least it wouldn’t all be gated to C6. Because a 4 star’s C6 shouldn’t just turn them into a different, better character, seriously.

fave characters: i have a lot of characters that i love but my most favorites are kazuha, hu tao, xingqiu, chongyun, albedo, benny, ayaka, yoimiya aaand tighnari. there are a lot more that i like but if i had to select just some those would be it i think!

fave 4 star: def one of the three i mentioned before! either benny, xingqiu or chongyun, but its so hard to choose just one.... mmm i think im gonna say benny bc hes very dear to me and has been accompanying me since my very first days playing the game, he has never left my team and i dont know what i would have done without him (i do know, i would have died countless times for sure)

5 stars i have: ive been playing the game for like a year and a half so even being f2p im lucky that i finally have most of my faves! i have kazuha, ayaka, hu tao, albedo, kokomi, yoimiya, xiao, nahida and eula. and from the standard banner, can you believe i only have keqing and mona after that much time playing?? well thats bc i have keqing c1 and.... mona c4. apart from the first 50/50 that i lost, which was with keqing, ive lost ALL the rest with mona and at this rate im sure im gonna get her c6 :'))) hyv stop giving me monas and give one tighnari pls PLS

accidental pulls: i DID have one accidental pull very similar to your case with itto and it was with eula. it was right when i was starting playing genshin and she was actually my very first 5 star. i only did one (1) ten pull on her banner bc xingqiu was there too and i wanted him so bad, but instead i ended up with no xingqiu and one eula that came home at pity 15 and winning 50/50, the luckiest ive ever been and for what... (and the saddest thing is i also didnt get xingqiu until months later sighhh). okay actually it wasnt that bad back then bc i didnt have any more 5 stars at the time so i used her as my main dps until i got ayaka, but now i dont play with her anymore

5 stars i want: since i got kazuha, who i really really wanted and saved for him for more than a whole year bc i lost 50/50 on him the first time (and the second time too... but i was prepared and could get him regardless), now i dont have any other character that i very desperately want as it was with him. and its bc ive been lucky that ive been able to get the rest of my faves too! i mean sure, i do want MORE characters, the ones that id like to get are tighnari, scaramouche (hyv im begging let me win 50/50 this time), nilou, cyno and venti, but i dont have that level of obsession i had with kazuha alsjfdk but yeah when their banners come (back) ill def be pulling for them!

fave teams: and my fave teams!!! im not a meta player and i know there are probably better combinations than the ones i use but idc and im very happy with my teams. so im gonna put the names i have for each team and its members!

permafrost brrrr: kazuha, chongyun, kokomi, ayaka. i loveeee fighting and freezing all the enemies along the way, so this is one is probably my favorite from all these teams. before getting kazuha i used it with xingqiu (hence the name of the team, tho it still works) and i miss a bit playing with xingqiu and chongyun together in the same team but kazuha makes this team even more fun and i like a lot how these 4 work together!

pants on fire!: xingqiu, albedo, hu tao, benny. my team for hu tao! ive been using this one since i got albedo and hu tao last year and ive never thought of changing it ever since, im very attached to it

short kings: kazuha, albedo, xiao, benny. my team for xiao and yes i wanted a team where i could put all my bois together and this one was perfect. a friend that is very invested in meta told me that kazuha wasnt useful at all here but idc bc just playing with them together makes me very happy

papayas quemadas: xingqiu, nahida, kokomi, yoimiya. this team i created it very recently! i was struggling a bit to find the best team for yoimiya and when i got nahida i tried this one and its very fun im liking it a lot! (ajdflsk abt the name of the team it means burnt papayas in spanish, bc the flowers (?) you make with hydro and dendro i call them papayas and then with yoimiyas pyro they become burnt, so yeah :))

queens: kokomi, eula, fischl, beidou. this is a team i have meant for eula using electro and cryo to boost her phys dmg and kokomi too to create electrocharged. i tried it a bit and it was actually fun! but i still need to build the chars better and i dont like eula that much as a character, so i dont really use this one rn. but maybe one day ill finally build them properly and give it a try again!

this was a super long answer but anyway it was a lot of fun to write!!!
