Thots on s3 episode 08!
you know the drill, spoilers and incoherent screaming under the cut!
i was a fucking giddy, giggling, blushing mess this entire episode

Fucking,, burst out laughing at Crosshair's blank ass stare when Omega said Phee was a liberator of ancient wonders,, that silence and expression killed me
ALSO THE FACT THAT THAT WAS CROSSHAIR AND PHEE'S FIRST MEETING AND THEY DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING TO EACH OTHER?!?!? HELLO?!?!?!
I just wanna see them interact :((

Hunter asking Omega to try and convince Crosshair to get his hand checked out,, FUCK ME UGHHHhhghhshsh
AND THEN HE DID! I honestly thought it would take more convincing

I just wanna see Hunter look wet and more pathetic than usual, is that too much to ask for?
anyways
i love fennec shand

i've never wanted to be on a boat so badly in my entire life,, fucking HATE boats but I'd be on that little boat in a heart beat
that fight scene with the crocs??? oh my god-
guys most of the episode was just me going "oh it's WAY to fucking early to be thinking that"
Hunter getting his ass kicked <3
when Wrecker yelled into the comms and nearly busted Fennec's eardrums,, omg
I need them both. at the same time. oh my god.
MY WIFE IS SO SMART
that bounty was a pain in the ass holy shit
LMAOOOO Hunter you gotta start asking better questions and being clearer,, she didn't even have any information and made them do all the work, get fucking wrecked
WHO IS FENNEC TALKING TOO?? my bet? asajj.
yeah not too much happened in this episode, but idc idc,, my wife returned, Wrecker got more screen time, Phee was in it, and Crosshair is slowly healing, I say it was a win

TBB S3 Ep 5 Thoughts!!
Love Omega’s new outfit
Batcher hanging out with Cross then, I see
Cross is like the dad who continuesly goes “NO PET” and then when you do get a pet they’re suddenly besties
“ITS ECHO” “perfect”
Ah, the duality of man
Love how there’s no end to this dynamic
“What? No hug for me?” “That depends how good your intel is.”
LOVE Echo matching Cross’s causal sass
These two are gonna push against each other a lot huh?
Yanno, given all the promo material, I was kinda expecting Rex to be with Echo when he arrived (hoping phi, the word is hoping.) (she’s delulu.)
“Especially without Tech” 😭😭😭😭
No surprise reactions from Cross through. Means he already knows.
But also, Cross coming in with the solve <3
Is Hunter,,,, JEALOUS??? of the fact that Omega is spending so much time with Cross? Like that SIDEYE when they walked past each other on the platform
Like, God forbid Omega spent time with the member of the squad who everybody is always suspicious of and spends the most time alone
BUT ALSO!!!
“Don’t hold it against him. His only worried about you.” CROSS YOU BIG ‘OL SOFTY!!!
“I’m older than you are, little brother.”
THE CHUCKLE
AND WRECKER GIVING BACK CROSS’S ARMOUR AAAAAAAHHHH
oooohhh the girls are fighting
“Hey, kill each other later.” SIR THE WAY I CACKLED BYE ✋🏻
“He started it.” Sir, are you 5?
MAYDAY’S HELMET
Echo not wanting Omega to see the straight up Bitch fight between Hunter and Cross
TELL HIM CROSSHAIR!!!!!
Jesus Christ, fucking finally
I wrote a post at some point about Cross becoming the mirror held up to Hunter in which he can view his own shortcomings because of his adamant refusal to change AND ITS HAPPENING
“I risked everything to send you that message and you ignored it.” THIS
Hunter’s mistrust in Cross played a big part in Omega getting captured, but also ofc Cross thinks the message was fully ignored, because no one came to save him either
Also Cross just not hiding anymore that he’s always cared for Omega too I LOVE
Love how quick they put that plan together
Batch is Batching :) (almost) (Tech, my love, come back)
“We’ll try to dig through.” “You’ll try?” “Glad you heard me properly.” I AM WHEEZING
Cross patting Batcher
BIG ‘OL SOFTY
Say did Hunter abandon the bandana for a god damn leather strap
wtf
Cross and Hunter walking back to base side by side, when the last time Cross was walking back to this base was with Mayday dying in his arms🥺
Wrecker hugging them both
AAAAAHHH
“See? They always work it out. And I don’t even see any blood this time.”
EXCUSE ME??
i am worried.
Blood??
Was typical??
Jesus Christ
Don’t know how much I appreciate Hunter getting on a high horse and giving Cross advice
Bird flying away from Cross After always being with him on that base, like the shadows of his past leaving his life, now that this period of his life is over (also sun setting, signifying the day is over)
Good symbolism yes
Okokok good episode! Tbh I thought “The Return” would be Echo’s permanent return to the Batch, but narratively that wouldn’t’ve made sense for him anyway. And I am LOVING the fact that it is actually Crosshair’s return to the turning point in his life, followed by his full return to the batch. Like yeah, last ep they re-met, but he hadn’t fully arrived until the end of this episode and GAAAAHHH I love it!
Also the dialogue is just totally A1 chefs kiss mwah this season (or maybe I just appreciate sarcasm)
Loved this one!! Would love to tag Saturn and Steph because I wanna see their thoughts of Echo being back but idk if they’ve seen the ep already and I don’t wanna spoil them so,,, idk guys if you see this hmu lol

low-key so mad at hunter but it is what it is
bad enough that he left cross on the platform but trying to argue that they shouldn't go rescue cross makes me so mad
(believe it or not, at one point I was a hunter girlie and not a cross girlie)
which planet is raxus again??? tbh they're all blending together at this point
lol omega is joining wreckers scared of height club
gd tech is doing something to me today
don't get caught guys, please don't get caught
I did not have hunter willingly killing multiple troopers on my tbb bingo card
*brief intermission in my tbb commentary to inform you that my cats are wrestling and the older one (spock) refuses to just deck Hex when he's annoying him*
again, this dr pisses me off
"test subjects" well that is definitely not ethical

tarkin just really doesn't care about his own troops huh
run tech run
fuckkkkkkkk
tech is gonna die
wrecker is too heavy, he'll make it worse hunter
omg I'm literally sobbing
tbh this was not how I wanted to start my day 😭
tech's dead honey, he won't hear you mega
wreckers little neck brace 😂
don't fucking tell me, that after tech sacrificed himself, that you aren't going to go try and save crosshair
you've already lost one brother, you don't need to lose another
omg they're gonna have to tell Phee 😭
cid sold them out
wait maybe they'll get taken to the same place as cross!!!
ah for fuck sake
it's doctor asshole again
yk they were kinda stupid to go back to ord mantell
cid told them this was gonna happen if they showed face again
and omega is playing right into their hands
doctor asshole brought up tech and wreckers reaction was my reaction
Hemlock is such a fucking dick, like giving hunter his brother's cracked goggles and saying that's all he could salvage?!?!!
I hate him more than krell
"she's long gone" except she's literally venting lmao
god I hate him
at least he found echo
"why did they bring me here?" because they needed Nala Se to cooperate
wait are we gonna find out how the emperor did the thing he did in the sequel trilogy???
don't tell me she's gonna see cross barely alive
for fuck sake the empire is traumatizing this child so fucking much
omg the assistant or something is her template I'm calling it right now
ok I mean I was close, they're sisters so I'm not far off
omega don't look so surprised, it's kinda obvious
so anyways I think that's practically confirmation of a season 3

Compassion for clones
I’m looking at the Clone Wars Bad Batch arc, episode 1
Tumblr media
In this scene they've camped for the night.
Cody has been injured, and he and Rex are off to the left.
Jesse and Kix are in the middle, with Tech, Crosshair and Wrecker together on the right. They're all gathered around the same heater, so none of them are too far from each other.
Notice how the team members grouped here don't seem to have any problem sitting with the regs.
Hunter is waaaaay off from either group, closer to his guys, but not with them. He's sniffing dirt to make it look like he has a reason to be over there but what that’s supposed to accomplish when they're looking for the Cyber Centre I have no idea.
Is he on watch or is he just staring out into the semi visable trees? Who knows.
He sighs deeply, looks out into the darkness and only turns towards the group when Cody starts groaning in pain.
Tumblr media
Look how pissed he looks here. Not only is he stuck in this shithole with this bunch of ‘regs’, but now he has to listen to them moaning too. Great!
Tumblr media
Everyone is gathered into familiar groups, like you do when you're with people you don't know, but they're gathered around happily enough and Tech doesn't hesitate to tell Jesse and Kix about Hunter's skills when he overhears them talking. Even though the last thing Kix said was that Hunter's special skill was being able to put up with the others.
Crosshair and Wrecker would have heard him say that too but no one says shit about it.
So... is it just Hunter who has a problem with 'regs' then?
.
But look what's happening here.
Tumblr media
Rex says it's time to go.
Tumblr media
Crosshair gets down from where he was sitting and says Cody shouldn't be moved, Tech stands to flank him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex says he's called evac, Kix will stay and he's taking over so they should do what he says and get on with trying to find Echo. Cross is totally unimpressed by this, and since it could be interpreted as 'let's ditch the wounded guy so I can lead, fall in bitches' I'm not surprised. We know Rex, and we know he wouldn't do that. But Cross doesn't. This isn't about Cross being a 'lil bitch. This is Cross showing his concern for a man who not only is a 'reg' but isn't a part of their team. Cody’s badly hurt and he wants to protect him and make sure he isn't just being abandoned for some shitty power grab.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So Cross queries Rex's plan, asks why their team is here in the first place. Asks what makes him fit to lead them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which might really have gone somewhere but the misdirection kicks in again when Jesse throws a fit and the fight breaks out.
And it's only when Wrecker has Jesse held aloft by the neck while Rex ineffectually tugs at him in an attempt to make him let go, Kix and Cross are wrestling each other, and Tech is trying to work out wtf he’s supposed to do in a situation like this, that Hunter casually saunters over and does his 'good leader' impression and tells them to knock it off.
Tells them that they're all fighting for the same thing.
Gives another deep sigh and says
‘We’ll do it your way, Captain. For Commander Cody.’
And Hunter's the one who comes out of this looking good. But Crosshair is the one who should have.
.
Because THIS.
This bit right here.
THIS is why Crosshair picks the fight with Rex later on.
Not because he’s an asshole, but because he isn't sure what Rex’s motives are.
Because he wants to know what’s driving him. If this is about power or finding Echo or what.
And he's willing to take a punch to find out too.
.
Crosshair shows more humanity and compassion for another human being in that scene than Hunter has managed to do in 14 entire episodes of TBB.
But people call him a monster because he argued with Rex, flicked a toothpick at Jesse, and is visually coded to look like a Disney villain, all tall, thin and scowling.
.
If Jesse hadn't picked the fight at that precise moment Rex would have been able to explain himself and this would never have been an issue.
But that wouldn't have allowed Crosshair to be set up all ready for the writers to use him as the villain in TBB now.
.
And Crosshair can currently be seen working with regular clones and non-clone stormtroopers. We haven’t seen him treating them differently, or calling them ‘regs’. He’s commanded his teams well and efficiently.
On the other hand Hunter continues to spout his ‘reg’ bullshit not only in front of Omega but also to Rex, and right up to the last aired episode.

So Crosshair says he had his chip removed…..
THEN EXPLAIN THIS…
Tumblr media
ALSO! I wanna talk about Crosshair’s character. This guy really is that stubborn to say he has a chip. Like I said in my other post, that maybe he was asking Hunter to kill him to end the pain…also I believe he’s hiding it because I noticed when Omega came to sit with him. He reacted quickly and hid his pain
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This guy is really hiding his feelings to his brothers and Omega. I feel like that’s his character personality. Too stubborn to express how you feel. He did express in episode 15, but today’s episode it shows he hiding something EVEN MORE. Maybe he doesn’t want to cry and show weakness in front of his brothers…or maybe he feels upset that they chosen Omega over him (in his eyes) that’s why he doesn’t want to show his weakness. He’s feels betrayed.
But Omega…hands down took me away from this episode because she took the role of OLDER SISTER AHA and she really cares for Crosshair even if he didn’t like her as much.
LIKE LOOK AT THIS!!
Tumblr media
SHE WATCHED HIM AS THE SHIP FLIES AWAY LIKE WTF!!!! I feel like he stayed because he feels like he doesn’t belong with them anymore. Like that scene when they were pointing their gun at him after he saved Omega…you can tell he was hurt.
I know we were all upset and sad about this ending, but after watching Clone Wars, Rebels that were under Dave’s storytelling. You know right away this is part of character development. Because you can’t rush into what we all want FOR CROSSHAIR TO COME BACK…that would just ruin the story. You need to have a good development and see the character NOT AS SOME CARTOON but as a real person.
My theory for season 2 is either Cross goes back to the Empire and changes like what happen to Kallus (100% believe that Cross is gonna have redemption like Kallus) or he pulls an Ashoka and finds his own way in the galaxy. But in the end he comes right back to where he started and that was with his brothers again. Also WE NEED JUST A CROSSHAIR EPISODE!!! LET US HAVE ONE SO WE CAN SEE HIM AND HUS DEVELOPMENT!!
I’m very excited for Season 2 and I have a feeling that Crosshair is gonna have a big part as well! Let me know what you guys think!

57 Thoughts I Had While Watching Part 2 of The Bad Batch Season Finale (Spoilers ahead!!)
I do like how Part 2 picks right up where Part 1 left off. I prefer that method since it makes it feel like one connected piece. Like how Rogue One ended where A New Hope kicks off.
Ya know, I wouldn’t mind the thunderstorms.
Okay the explosions are beautifully animated. The blues, the sparks, the orange flames. And I like how they’re realistically placed. So many shows with explosions don’t have them right close to the characters, even if they’re supposed to be all around them.
This episode is kinda darkly lit. Not like Battle of Winterfell in Game of Thrones.
Okay yeah, that clone reporting the destruction…thats some sadness there.
That inner alarm has me thinking “oh shit my flight has changed gates again hasn’t it!!”
Damn, imagine being unconscious and wake up in a flooding compartment with a droid and that one kid who took your place.
Okay how strong is that knife. I kinda expect it to break in half. Wrecker would
probably try to trade with Hunter after that.
The shot of the burning buildings on the water is so beautiful too. The reflections were well done.
About AZ being like “oh hey homie, you survived being blown up but now you’re drowning. And I’m watching while this literal child tries to move metal debris off of you.”
Okay Omega using her bow like that is genius. But please wee baby don’t hit Crosshair by accident. And the way the bolts underwater were animated. 🤌🏻🤌🏻
And Crosshair being all “wtf?!”
Dang Omega is so take charge here.
Okay the sprays of water from the door is so well done. And omg they just pop outta there lmao!!!! About how Omega is caught and they just let Crosshair slide on the floor.
Haha Crosshair being like “Hunter, you fucker did you break something?!”
I really wish it wasn’t so darkly lit, but it does bring a sense of realism. The power is out, so what we’re able to see is what the characters are able to see with flashlights. Plus I’m sure this would look different on my TV than iPad.
The music is so pretty, so emotional. Oh damn poor AZ.
Oh never mind. He’s good.
Crosshair quit being a poop and follow them please.
Echo and that smell lmao.
“Blind allegiance makes you a pawn. A real leader protects his squad.”
Huh. Interesting. But isn’t blind allegiance what the clones had in the Republic? Isn’t that what Clone Force 99 had in the Republic? At least mostly. Some clones didn’t have that obviously, like Cut.
Ooohh Crosshair’s expression when Hunter knocked his shoulder. That seemed like surprise. There is something to that.
Hmmmmmm I’m with Crosshair on that. Going through a glass tunnel with cracks in it hundreds of feet below the surface would be a no from me. Also, what about water pressure? Is that not a thing there? Like wouldn’t you get a massive headache traveling through that? Or maybe not….idk.
Oh fuck Wrecker letting Crosshair know what’s what. I do like that he’s finally expressing how he feels. I’ve always thought there was more of a brotherly relationship between Wrecker and Crosshair than Crosshair had with the others. And Wrecker has a point, Crosshair didn’t even try to come back to them. Of course that really isn’t a fair statement either I guess. Wrecker should remember how he couldn’t control what he did when his chip kicked on.
And Tech jumping in and saying that Crosshair has always been “severe and unyielding” is a good way to let us know a bit more of what’s normal behavior for Crosshair. I like how he’s reminded Wrecker that some things Crosshair can’t help due to just how he is (likely a byproduct of the enhancement experiments).
“Understanding you does not mean I agree with you.” Ugh if only more people had this mindset. Also, the whole “why are you defending me?” sounds like Tech doesn’t usually leap to Crosshair’s defense (even though that’s not what he’s doing here). Which further makes me think that the brotherly relationship that usually exists between team members (like Domino squad eventually, Rex/Echo/Fives/Kix/Jesse/Hardcase/Tup) doesn’t exist here between all the guys. It’s more sporadic. Crosshair seems to get along better with Wrecker (in their own way, teasing and their droid death counts) than he does with Tech.
Also perhaps they should not stop so often…ya know, just in case the tunnel implodes.
Oh nope nope nope. No underwater tubes and sea monsters for Bethany.
AZ is so peppy. Like he sounds so positive when relaying bad news. He sounds like the kinda droid that would be like “good news is you have great cholesterol, bad news is you have cancer. But yay no diabetes!”
Oh yeah I kinda forgot Hunter wasn’t with them they first got to the private lab. And oh damn, Omega is technically older than them. The whole accelerated aging thing is just so unfair.
Well we really couldn’t expect a glass tunnel to fully survive aerial bombardment. Better start swimming fuckers!!
Damn, someone find AZ a charger! I bet Tech has one for his datapad that boy is attached too. He seems like the type to never be without a phone charger. He also seems like the type to not want to share it because no one else in the squad treats their charge cords with respect.
Dad gum Crosshair, I didn’t hear you spouting off any bright ideas. Geez, who peed in your wheaties?!
Hunter takes things too personally?! Weren’t you being all Salty McSourpus over Hunter leaving your ass on Kamino for shooting at him and the others? Were you not taking that too personally? But kudos to Hunter for reminding him the Empire peaced the fuck out and left him to die on Kamino. Although…Crosshair does sound like he’s trying not to care about that. Like it does bother him but he’s acting like he don’t give a fuck.
“The Empire will control the entire Galaxy. And I’m going to be a part of it.” Uhm, sir…you’re currently in a secret lab at the bottom of the ocean with no means of escape right now. How do you plan to be a part of the Empire from down here? Like, are you going to establish the underwater branch of the Empire and assert the Emperor’s control over the sea critters?
Ugh Omega trying so hard to bond with Crosshair. Like the parallel between this scene and the holding cell scene. And her thinking she was wrong about the chip making him behave like a dick. Oh sweet baby, you’re not wrong. He still has that thing. But he has always been a dick per Tech’s words earlier. But she’s trying so hard to show him the similarities between them.
I’ve noticed Crosshair does a lot of pushing people away. Like he’s been doing that with Hunter and Omega this whole season. Speaking harshly to them both (although I think some of the things he says to Hunter, he’s always wanted to say). But I think it’s more that he wants to avoid disappointing them, so he shoves them away to prevent that feeling. Like perhaps he thinks he isn’t worthy to be around them, that they’ll be better off without him around.
Oh fuck, look at you contributing now Mr. I Am Going To Complain About Other People’s Ideas.
Did they have to draw straws to see who got their own pod and who had to team up with who? Like,
Hunter: “Someone has to go with Tech.”
Crosshair, Wrecker: “Not it!”
Echo: “not it, fuck I wasn’t fast enough.”
Oh the wee child is getting her own pod. Okay then.
Of course Hunter and Crosshair get doubled up. I bet they argue the whole time.
Crosshair: “stop breathing all the air!!”
Hunter: “stop standing on my foot!!”
Crosshair: “well it’s not my fault you have Sasquatch feet!”
Oh damn. Well bye Omega. It was nice knowing you. Crosshair probably has your eulogy already written.
Hm, so Tech never shared his datapad charge cord with AZ. Bummer.
Awww poor AZ. He was a good droid. We’ll remember how he OMG OMEGA WHAT THE FUCK?!!???
Again is water pressure not a thing in Star Wars?
Sweetie. He’s metal. You won’t be strong enough to pull him along with you.
Oh fuck Crosshair! Oh damn the look on his face is like “Hunter, get you ugly ass face out of my shot.” Oh damn, boy has got some good eyesight, I want a piece of that.
Bruh, that’s gotta hurt. You just saved the kid they all love and they got you at blaster point. Buuuuuut at the same time you haven’t expressed the most positive attitude towards said kid either. So maybe they have a good reason to think you’d shoot her? Still. Damn. That’s gotta hurt, since if it had been the good ol’ days they’d be like “nice shot buddy!”
Hunter looks more wary than upset honestly. Like he isn’t sure why Crosshair did that, but he’s not sure if Crosshair would want him expressing gratitude either. Hunter doesn’t seem to know how to treat him any more. Crosshair belittles him and speaks harshly to him, but then saves Omega. It’s almost like old Crosshair is still in there, knowing how attached the team is to Omega. Even if he does think she’s not in the safest environment with them.
Oh…omg what is this?! I just noticed, no rain on Kamino….AND SUNSHINE?! Like is that a fucking sunrise??!!?? Oh shit you guys there is symbolism here!!! Like a new start or something impossible has happened. Like there has never been sunshine on Kamino, it’s always stormed. Always. Always and forever it has done that. But after the destruction of Tipoca City, the rains cease and the sunshine comes out. Like….omg guys. It’s pretty!!
Interesting. Omega seems sad that a place she didn’t want to ever return to is gone. But I guess that’s probably the notion that she’s essentially homeless setting in. That the only home she’s had (before Clone Force 99) is gone.
Also, I have this theory that Ghost Fives probably travels with Echo, and he’d likely be like “good! Fuck that place. Killing Tup there and all. Bitches.”
Echo: “stfu Fives, she’s sad okay.”
Honestly I’m not surprised Crosshair refused their offer to come with them. He has his pride and I feel like he doesn’t want to admit aligning with the Empire was a mistake. That he was wrong and Hunter was right. Especially after being all Pro-Empire and talking about how they’re going to be what the Galaxy needs.
“Consider us even.” GIRL he admits it! He was saving YOU!! YOU! Not the dumb droid, YOU!!!!
His face says it all when they pull away. Like he regrets not going with them, but he can’t bring himself to stay with them. He’s really conflicted right now. He has programming in his head telling him one thing and another portion of his mind reminding him that Tech, Wrecker, Hunter, and even Echo care about him. That they’re a team. He even wanted them to join the Empire so they could all get back together. He does want to be with them, but it’s going to take time to get passed the war in his head.
Oh damn, Nala Se and some Commando buddies. Yeah there’s something up with her. She seems to have gained a lot out of this. Making herself more important than Lama Su and likely more important than the other scientists from Kamino. I wonder if this was her plan all along. It’s so hard to tell what Kaminoans are thinking because they don’t express emotions facially or even vocally.
I read a post somewhere about Nala Se doing childish science experiments. Like the baking soda/vinegar volcano. And now I can’t get the image out of my head of her teaching like a high school chemistry class where you get to do those classic science fair experiments. Things exploding, clones accidentally gassing each other at a table. Someone betting someone else 5 credits to drink a solution.

I’m the tin foil hat anon and I wanted to thank you for the response on my bb submission, you make great points. Although I was frustrated that some of them raised even more questions I didn’t think of myself… UGH… lol the S2 wait is gonna be painful
On the point of crosshair thinking his chip was removed a looong time ago(meaning before bracca or even as early as ep1) it wouldn’t make sense bc of his response to Hunter’s “you tried to kill us, we didn’t have a choice”. He says “and I did?”. So he seems to be aware he couldn’t control himself in all their previous encounters. Does it mean he knows his actions were due to chip then?
And you say crosshair avoiding the “when” question can be due to him not caring if the horrible actions he committed are chip or himself and it’s meant to show that he truly is despicable and evil. It could be the case because he shows absolutely no remorse or regret over slaughtering civilians, never apologizes to his brothers for not only trying to kill them but almost successfully incinerating(!!!) them. On top of that (apparently) without a chip he casually murders his own squad without a blink of an eye right in front of them.
On the other hand, he shows care for Omega’s safety in that episode and wants a better place in the universe for his brothers(even if it’s obviously a mistake). He sounds hurt and betrayed by them yet he still wants what he thinks is best for them. He seemed genuine and sincere in that moment. Even after they refused to join he protected them against the droids. He had multiple opportunities to shoot Hunter or others in the back but never did(and looked like didn’t even consider it). BUT after all of that he decides to raise his gun and try to shoot hunter who already has his gun drawn?! And in front of the whole squad holding him at gun point!!! WTF was he thinking?! WHY? I know they rejected his offer but still. Did his reveal completely change his plans? I just don’t understand. I know he is meant to be “complex and nuanced character with layers” but what a mood swing lmao
As much as I loved and enjoyed the bad batch overall I’m beginning to think that all these inconsistencies aren’t meant to be a crafty set up for next season. What they most likely are is just writers being vague on purpose so they don’t write themselves into a corner.
And as to why the batch and Omega didn’t even try to rescue their brother could just be so that Hunter and Crosshair would have this drama and disagreement at the end. Despite brad rau claiming their argument was over ideological differences. And Jen Corbett saying in that same cursed interview that the batch always love and support each other no matter what because they’re family. Well, I guess not crosshair, he doesn’t count anymore lol
And I agree with you I’d rather see the batch acknowledging they could have done more to try and rescue him than go into the chip details. However, I have a suspicion the real reason or explanation on why they never went back for him isn’t going to be brought up ever. Even *in universe* it simply does not make sense. Just makes me sad seeing how many people also try to come up with explanations. That should have been the writers job to provide something besides Hunter’s “you tried to kill us” bc that’s a weak argument and a total bs since he was SHOCKED to learn crosshair doesn’t have a chip.
Btw sorry for the long posts lol I just found your takes very intriguing
The season two wait is something awful and I only just started it lol. No worries about long asks though! My blog has become quite meta heavy over the years, so this is normal for my inbox. Besides, it’s a bit of a pot and kettle situation. It's not like my answers are particularly concise :D
Okay first, I have the unpopular (?) opinion that Crosshair was never planning to shoot Hunter, partly for the reasons you lay out here. You’re right, it doesn’t make sense, and rather than just accepting that he had that kind of “mood swing" (which would be pretty bad writing based on everything else we've seen) I think it does make sense that this was never his intention at all. Rather, it’s just a setup to make the audience think he’s about to shoot Hunter—that’s the obvious goal of that moment: the shock, drama, confusion, and then relief—but that doesn’t mean that in-universe that was ever Crosshair’s goal, even for just a split second. Omega leaves the pod. Echo, crucially, says that he can’t see her, setting up that Crosshair with his enhanced sight is probably the only one who could. He grabs his rifle off screen and as he does, Hunter leans over the side of the pod as he prepares to jump in, precisely where Crosshair needs to aim to hit Omega. Hunter is in his way. He’s directly in the line of fire, not because Crosshair is aiming for him, but just because that's where Omega is and they're both aiming for her: Crosshair with his rifle, Hunter ready to dive. The little shift Crosshair makes reads to me as him ensuring he doesn’t hit Hunter, despite him being right where he needs to aim, not him full on changing targets.
Even if we choose to read it as him deliberately aiming at Hunter—because yeah, the scene is meant to be ambiguous—I don’t think he, like, meant it meant it. Crosshair, as we’ve seen throughout TBB and TCW, can be pretty antagonistic. He likes to do things to get a rise out of people, like staring at regs until they snap at him, or pushing Rex’s buttons until he swings. If he was choosing to aim at Hunter in that moment, rather than Hunter just being in the way, I think it’s only bravado. Remember the “Don’t make the same mistake twice. Don’t make me your enemy” line? Crosshair has a need to remind others of his skill and power—whether it’s playfully like in TCW, or more seriously in TBB—and that’s likely what this is here. “Hey, Hunter. Look. I got my weapon back. I’ve got you cornered. I’m about to save our sister when you can’t. Remember that I’m good and you need me.” Those feelings of abandonment are tied up in that need to be needed, so when Crosshair is seething at being left behind, brutally showing them how he can get a drop on their leader and doing the thing they can't (save Omega) is a great way to remind them of what they threw away/re-boost his own self-esteem. But none of that means shooting Hunter was ever a real possibility. Because nowhere else do we see Crosshair willingly trying to harm his team. He does while under the chip’s influence, but then he never hurts Hunter when he’s captured. He kills his new team before they can hurt the batch. He helps them fight off the droids. There’s a tussle, but it’s not choreographed like either he or Hunter truly intends harm. Crosshair demonstrates no aggression during the entire escape, willingly gives up his weapon after saving Omega, and just stands there as they leave. If this guy actually wanted to hurt them, he would. Which is more likely, that Crosshair had a split second of real murder intent across two episodes of doing everything possible to help his team, or that this was just a mean bluff?
But personally, I don’t even think it was a bluff. I think the coincidence of Crosshair needing to aim there and Hunter already being there is just meant to imply an attack for the audience, not imply that Crosshair, in-universe, ever intended to hurt him, even for just a second. If he had, he wouldn’t look so surprised and sad when he realizes the others are pointing their weapons at him. If he was out to shoot Hunter, even if only for a moment, seeing his brothers come to his defense would be expected; a given. But if he only ever intended to save Omega, then seeing their weapons trained on him would produce the emotions we saw: shock that they’d turn on him and then severe disappointment. From Crosshair’s perspective, he didn’t do anything wrong and never intended to do wrong either. Hence, looking away in disbelief that his need to aim through Hunter was taken as a serious threat. He's realizing that they honestly believe that he would hurt them. Not the chipped version of him, but just him, all on his own.
As for the rest of his characterization, I think your point that “You tried to kill us” is a weak argument is pretty important. Meaning, Crosshair knows he didn’t attack his team and nearly kill them, the Empire controlling him like a puppet did. He (arguably) doesn’t owe them an apology for something that he was as much a victim for. However, we usually expect one anyway—like Wrecker still apologizing to Omega—because that's how people who have hurt loved ones react, whether the hurt was intentional or not, but that guilt is currently overshadowed by his fury that they left him behind. For him I think it’s a bit of a circular problem. Yes, he nearly killed them… but he wouldn’t have nearly killed them if they’d come back and rescued him. With the obvious disclaimer that the Empire is the real evil here, Crosshair as a threat is a bit of a problem of the batch's own making. If they’d done the right thing and gotten him out, there wouldn’t have been these scary moments like the engine incident. If they’d at least tried, then Crosshair likely would have been more guilt-ridden because he hurt his brothers who were trying to help him. As it stands, he tried to hurt the people who claim they're his brothers, but who left him behind. That's why he presents this second chance as magnanimous: from Crosshair's perspective, they haven't done anything to earn his care, but they're getting it anyway. An apology though? That's pushing things too far. If when Wrecker turned the group had locked him somewhere in the ship and gone off planet, leaving him there under the justification “Well, he tried to kill us!" would Wrecker still return with apologies for his actions... or would he be primarily pissed at being left like that, withholding apologies because they did him harm intentionally, whereas he did harm under another's control? I mean, maybe he'd be forgiving (the huge difference between his and Crosshair’s personalities is another factor), but also maybe not. Having Crosshair apologize for the near-death experiences requires 1. For him to feel responsibility for something that was forced on him and 2. For him to not be absolutely furious at the batch for abandoning him. They've gotta work through that before Crosshair can acknowledge that guilt.
Killing his second team on the other hand… idk if the batch cares, honestly. It was the killing of civilians that they balked at, not other fighters like themselves. Even the Jedis’ execution, something they clearly didn’t like, wasn’t enough to turn them from the Empire, presumably because the Jedi are capable of defending themselves. They fell in battle. It’s only when the Empire asks them to kill kids and untrained civilians that they go, “Absolutely not. This organization is evil.” Murder of other fighters was, you know, not great, but not worth defecting over either. Crosshair’s second team is made up of fighters who have been trying to kill them, so they’re definitely fair game. If we removed Crosshair’s plan from the situation and the batch was just fighting their way off Kamino after a capture, would they have also killed the team without a blink of an eye? Probably. It's self-defense. The second they raised their blasters it became a battle and, unless you’re specifically out to stun someone for some reason, battles end bloody. The shock is which side Crosshair was on, not that one side was willing to murder the other. It’s definitely messed up from our perspective that Crosshair laid a trap to murder his team to prove a point… but from the batch’s perspective? Crosshair killed a bunch of imperial fighters who were threatening them during a battle. That’s just an average Tuesday for them, nothing much to get upset over.
And omg don’t get me started on Crosshair wanting to find Omega a family! Like yeah, it’s obviously a #mistake and his faith in the Empire is Super Messed Up but... the underlying motivation is so good. It’s another situation where there’s no easy answer. Which is more important: Omega’s emotional health where she grows up with clones like her, the people who are now 100% her family, or her physical health, where she stays some place where she’s not always getting shot at, kidnapped, at risk of going hungry, etc.? It’s easy as the audience to go, “Of course she belongs with her dads!!” but if you choose to read the story through any realistic lens, Crosshair absolutely has a point about this being terrible environment for a kid, the exact point the batch themselves were making until Omega begged to stay. I love my feral, compassionate child but let me tell you, I YELLED when she yeeted herself out of that pod. This is a traumatized, formerly isolated kid with absolutely zero self-preservation, combined with, at times, a lack of basic common sense that’s inevitable in children (like not realizing she can’t pull a very heavy droid up through the water). As emotionally gutting as the thought is and, in this particular case, a Very Bad Idea, I really can’t fault anyone for raising the possibility that she go somewhere else, somewhere she’s likely to survive into her teens 😅

Caught up on episodes 2-16 of The Bad Batch this weekend and these are my thoughts as I watched
1. Love how tarkin has aged like 40 years since we last saw him approximately four-to-six months ago in the clone wars. Like I’m not kidding I genuinely love it
2. Whenever little omega gets out of the ship and sees sunlight for the first time and is so excited about dirt 🥺
3. The scary scary nexu 🥺🥺🥺🥺 so cool
4. The empire just immediately making everyone’s lives miserable ie giving everybody a chain code and shit. You’re right Dave Filoni we SHOULDN’T have social security numbers.
5. CID FUCKING RULES LMFAO. Cathy Bates lizard ass mob boss bitch. Echo knows her as ‘a contact of the Jedi’ which coming from him probably means less ‘the Jedi’ in general and more just ‘Obi-Wan and Anakin’. Cid clearly liked the Jedi, but Anakin I can’t imagine having that much patience to deal with her and he probably just interacted with her out of necessity but Obi-Wan. Imagine her and Obi-Wan interacting.** The flirting. The mind games. They were probably in love.
6. I always know that I personally am going to have a great time whenever the Zygerians show up because they always bring the Peak Weird Scifi Ralph Mcquarrie 70s vibes with them and they did NOT disappoint. The flying lizard vs. rancor fight gave me the strength I needed to go on another day
7. Speaking of the rancor like I knew it was going to be a rancor as soon as we saw the cage but I wasn’t expecting it to be THEE rancor.
8. Furthermore. Lost it at thee rancor making puppy dog heart-eyes at omega as it’s being led away to be chained up under Jabba’s palace to eat Jabba’s enemies for the rest of it’s life until Luke finally kills it in 4ABY.
9. Everybody climbing through the ion engine core was COOL SO COOL. My little nerd brain really loved that. “This is actually a marvel of engineering. This steel coating is capable of withstanding -“ “NO ONE CARES!” 💯💯💯💯 Exactly how I would’ve written it A+++++++
10. The fucking rattlesnake wild west music that aggressively plays every time Cad Bane is on screen. What’s better than this.
11. Cad Bane’s entire new gunslinger cowboy outfit. Everything to me.
12. I love all these deep seeded reasons we’re getting for why the storm troopers SUCK. 1. Being the entire idea to use them in the first place was based off a misunderstanding made after one(1) experimental mission where it’s interpreted that they’re better than the clones when the clones were the reason for the mission’s success in the first place and 2. How a lot of the first-wave storm troopers were trained by the clones who either didn’t want to train them and didnt do a great job on purpose or did it but personally left out a lot of info and skills. Pretty fascinating explanation for protagonist armor while also making a statement about the inefficiency and insincerity of institutional evil/bureaucracy (I guess).
13. Holy shit did NOT LIKE THE CLAUSTROPHOBIC ENDING AAAAAHHH. Like the facility on kamino floating to the bottom of the sea. Kill meeeeeeee. Very cool visuals though.
14. One thing I didn’t like was all of the stuff with Crosshair. It was all just so contrived and weird and didnt make any sense and really just brought the show down in the end, writing-wise. Honestly, most of the stuff regarding the clones’ story arch after their interaction with the guy on Ryloth who still had his armor painted, where we’re supposed to just assume his inhibitor chip . . . didn’t work or something? But instead of anyone bothering to tell him what’s going on after such a big deal was made out of the chips the episode right before this, it’s treated like some kind of moral choice the guy is making kinda took me out of the story severely. And even more so when the same guy manages to talk a bunch of other clones out of working for the empire too. Like can they do that? We’ve had this idea that these chips essentially mind control you repeated to us over and over so wtf. There was no coherent explanation for any of it. Maybe it’ll be explained later somewhere else, but still. Weird to do it this way. They needed to be more consistent with what a horrible scary thing those chips were instead of doing whatever that was. But up until then it was a lot of fun sci-fi.
14. Every minute cody doesn’t show up in one of these post war 66 shows i get more and more excited for him to show up dramatically in kenobi
**Like fr picture it it’s year 2 of the clone wars. Anakin and Ahsoka are sitting at the space mahjong table in Cid’s parlor bored as fuck and ready to leave but Obi-wan is still in cid’s office. it’s hour four and they’re only halfway through orchestrating the most unnecessarily elaborate and convoluted deal for a piece of information like “where is cad bane the last time I saw him he stole my wallet and car keys and he refuses to return them yes my car got blown up but that’s not the point It’s The Principle Of The Thing.” Literally everyone around them grew bored of all of this 3 hours ago but not obi-wan and cid. This is what they do for fun and they are both having the time of their lives. Anakin this war is stressful some of us are trying to relax

Bad batch episode 8 reaction and predictions
Continuing these written reactions/predictions somewhere cause itd be fun I think to see what actually ends up happening and remembering what I thought at the time so im dumping it here, youre welcome. (Feel free to discuss if you want) if you want to keep up with it im gonna be tagging these as #jay rambles about bb
- HEY THE EPISODE IS CALLED REUNION I CALLED CROSSHAIR WOULD COME BACK THEY BETTER SAVE HIM but they also wont because this show likes to be sad  - Oh also I am stupid and didnt notice but Bracca is where Cal started off in fallen order!! I’d be shocked if we saw Cal and really doubt we will but its a cool detail - These fucking “anti clone” empire people smh so dumb -- Also “terminate them” hehe even more sad now when we remember like how bad wrecker felt about last episode and crosshair doesn’t want to really be doing this to his friends - oh my god wrecker why would you DO THAT -- ok thats a little better just a smoke bomb but that was probably stressful as fuck for omega omg - Why do I get the feeling that this place with all the bombs and weaponry is really dangerous and something is gonna go wrong in here? - Oh? Is that a little missing the 501st I see in Echo? (yes hes not leaving bad batch) but last episode he didnt really seem to care about them at all so... a little echo redemption?  -- You can definitely tell by that conversation though that because he was a reg Echo has the very “Im a soldier” mentality that pretty much all the regs showed while meanwhile the bad batch are soldiers and follow orders too but they are known for doing things in an untraditional manner so its interesting to kind of compare it. - What do the kaminoans want with Omega??? I mentioned in a previous prediction that I thought her ability was like... to be good at adapting and picking up on things quickly or something, but theres no way the kaminoans would want her for that, so I’m confused... rather she has some ability we still havent seen (which then for the other stuff theyre trying to just say is coincidence which is kind of bs?) or she has some other value but I dont know... I do feel like because the second half of the season is supposed to be more emotional she’s going to get caught at some point though. -- Maybe they’ll get crosshair back but lose omega, and then crosshair will kind of know how the empire runs on kamino and be able to help them get her or something? (eventually not this episode/ soon anyway) --- WAIT ITS CALLED REUNION WHAT IF THEY GET HIM BACK NOW?? >> ---- #savecrosshair2021 - Every single one of these incoming clone deaths in this episode is going to hurt me - Wrecker that sounded like you didnt like crosshair anymore D: - Ok hunter omega I love you guys but you cant  talk the inhibitor chip out of him lol like all clones that we’ve seen turn couldnt just be like “yeah youre right ok I’ll stop.” Like literally omega should know this even more because of wreckers apology - OH MY GOD HAHA I DIDN’T EXPECT WRECKER TO THROW THAT AT THE GUY PFFT - Wrecker telling Tech that no one cares was a little mean... but at the same time I imagine Tech rambles on and on about stuff literally all the time so I guess its fair - Heyo might wanna get out of the engine bb... like lets not stand in them talking around unless we’re gonna do something - Who’s helping them? OH HELLO SIR -- But wtf does Cad want with them >> Like he’s a bounty hunter yeah but if hes hired by the empire its not like the empire is gonna be happy he killed empire people to get them. I’m guessing it was the kaminoans but like if Cad did bring her back how is the empire just not gonna notice that - WAIT FUCKING EXCUSE ME -- HES NOT DEAD THOUGH RIGHT? RIGHT????? --- Ok thank god he’s ok... so I was partially wrong they didn’t trade but Omega was taken...  - The kaminoans are rather gonna take Omega somewhere she can’t escape or far away probably, but what if she gets to interact with crosshair more, and somehow helps him with the inhibitor chip? Like I doubt that’ll happen realistically and that she can do that all on her own because well we’ve seen that before with Fives kinda and he barely was able to plus crosshair wouldnt go willingly so probably not but I still want crosshair to be saved by the end of the season >:(

In your post about Ahsoka and her older brothers you mentioned that Cody brings her along in adventures, any chance one of those involved the Bad Batch?
Oh! Mmm??? Leeme think.....
Yes.
◈ ━━━━━━ ◆ ━━━━━━ ◈
"Cody, make sure you take care of her," Obi-Wan told his Commander, his hand on his shoulder. "Don't let her get carried away" he continued as Ahsoka came running excitingly down the hall.
"Of course, sir." Cody assured, putting his own hand over the General's, "Sir, I can assure you these boys will protect her, and they won't fail" he said, letting go as Ahsoka approached them, dropping the bag and panting.
"Geezy Codes! What's in this thing?" She asked as he grabbed it, Ahsoka shook her head. "Oh, Master Kenobi, thank you again for letting me go with Commander Cody, I promise I'll stay out of trouble" she spoke, smiling wide.
Obi-Wan gave her a solemn smile, "I know, Ahsoka, make sure you take care of yourself and the Commander, but most importantly, have fun, my child" he smiled as she gave him a hug. Ahsoka nodded as she pulled away from Obi-Wan and walked excitingly with Cody as they left. The Commander gave one last look to the General before leaving Obi-Wan alone on the bridge.
"So, What do martials even do anyway?" She asked, skipping along side him. Rex did some cool stuff but Cody always got to go on cool missions, that's what she wanted to see.
"Well, 'soka, I do a lot of running around and checking on smaller units. I've gone to medical facilities, even to Coruscant to serve the Chancellor" Cody recalled as they boarded a shuttle and got settled in the cockpit promptly. "And today, we are going to check on one of those smaller units, a special unit"
Ahsoka's eyes lit up as they jumped to Hyperspace, she let out an excited gasp, "Oh! Are we gonna meet some commandos?!" She squealed, "I've always wanted to meet some!" She commented.
"You have," Cody recalled, "Commando Gregor, he's been missing for some time, but he was a Commando" Cody turned to her, watching her remember the lost soldier, "But, we're not working with some commandos, we're working with a group that could very well challenge a Jedi with a fighting chance" he stated, Ahsoka nodded, understanding why Cody chose Jedi, so she'd understand how awesome these guys must be.
When they got out of hyper space Ahsoka was shocked to see a single ship, "That's it?" She thought, the young padawan had imagined a giant ship, but... She looked to Cody who had commed whoever was on this ship. She then followed quietly behind. They stood at the ship's door waiting for it to open. While they waited, Ahsoka could hear who was inside.
"Wrecker! Put some pants on! He's here!" A voice called. Ahsoka and Cody gave each other a look of 'wtf' as the door opened. "Commander!" The man greeted with a huge smile, giving him a 'bro' shake, as Ahsoka called it, "Good to see you, still look as terrible as ever I see ." He joked, getting a chuckle from Cody
"Sergeant, lovely to see you, I see you're still living in the same hobble as always." Cody retorted. Ahsoka was taken back, when has Cody ever been this.. Casual? She then coughed, elbowing Cody, who looked to her, "Oh, my bad" he smiled as they stepped into the ship, "Commander Tano, this is Sergeant Hunter" he introduced.
Hunter looked to the kid and held out his hand, he was taller than Cody. "Howdy kiddo, I'm Hunter, the one holding that glass of milk like he'll die if he doesn't is Tech, I dunno where the other two ran off to" he laughed. Ahsoka noticed how the two didn't look much like clones. They were clones though, right?
"Greetings, Sergeant Hunter, it's an honor to meet you" she shook his hand then bowed as she knew Obi-Wan would want her to. "Do you live on this ship?" She asked. Cody had gone to talk to.. Tech- She felt weirdly out of place.
"Oh yeah, the boys and I are-" Hunter turned as he saw another brother in the doorway, Ahsoka was taken back yet again, she had sensed him, how had Hunter, "Crosshair, you good?" Hunter asked his brother, who was staring at the two.
Crosshair stood still before turning his head and heading back down the hall, "WRECKER! There's a child here! Put on your pants!" He screamed yet again. Hunter shook his head.
"Ah, sorry, lil' one, Crosshair and Wrecker aren't very good in situations like these" he explained, "I told them ya'll were coming, but apparently they went back to sleep" he continued as he walking to a counter, Ahsoka following, "Can I get you something kid? Milk? Water?" He asked.
She looked to Cody, he was busy, "Oh, yes please, just some water please." She stumbled over her words. She found herself nervous, very out of place. She wanted to go to Cody, she didn't know why she felt so anxious all of a sudden. Hunter was very kind, so she didn't understand. "Thank you" she spoke as Hunter handed her a glass.
"Sure thing, I'll leave ya with those two, imma check on the other two" Hunter told her before heading down the doorway. Ahsoka nodded and almost ran to Cody, who was chatting away. She wasn't expecting Cody to be close with a group so, casual. She grabbed Cody's arm.
Cody looked down, "Hey little one," he spoke softly, "This is Tech" he introduced her as he grabbed her hand. He could tell from her posture she was anxious, "He's very smart" he explained as Ahsoka looked up.
Tech gave her a small smile, he'd taken in account to her body language that she most likely was uncomfortable in this situation, "Greetings, Commander Cody here has told me you're already quite the Jedi" he recalled. Ahsoka looked to Cody, then to Tech.
"I-" humble, a Jedi is humble, "I can only work to be as great as a Jedi as my masters are," she replied as she took another drink of water, she was suddenly so thirsty. They then all turned to see the other three come through the doorway. Ahsoka let out a soft gasp at the sight of whom she suspected was Wrecker.
"Go you two." Hunter hissed at them, shoving their backs as they walked. "Sorry 'bout that, these two are a handful" he sighed as Tech laughed, causing Crosshair and Wrecker to glare at him.
"Boys, having issues?" Cody asked, raising an eyebrow as he recalled their conversation. Crosshair crossed his arms and shook his head. Wrecker wasn't paying attention for he'd seen Ahsoka.
"You have a child." Wrecker pointed to her, Ahsoka's grip on Cody's hand tightened, "Where'd you get a child from?" Crosshair looked to her, she sensed his icy glare.
Cody shook his head, "No, Wrecker, it's not mine, it's Obi-Wan's, this is Ahsoka Tano." Cody explained, giving Ahsoka two hand squeezes, which meant it was okay.
"Hello, it's nice to meet you" she spoke, she scolded herself, that's not how she was suppose to greet people. Jedi talked different. Wrecker held out his fist and Ahsoka looked to him but then realized he was waiting for a fist bump, so that's what she did.
"Yo!" Wrecker exclaimed, "I'm Wrecker, they call me that cause I like to wreck things!" He laughed as he grabbed Crosshair's arm, who tried very hard to break free from his brother's grip, "This is Crosshair, he's a really sour prickle because I'm better at destroying droids than him" Wrecker dissed.
Crosshair snatched his arm, crossing them again before shaking his head and giving Ahsoka a nod. "Oh, sorry 'bout that" Hunter inturrupted, "Crosshair isn't one for conversation," he explained as Crosshair squeezed away from them all, "Well that's all of us, there ain't anymore." Hunter said, looking to Cody, "Well Commander? How's the mission gonna go down? Since ya brought a Jedi?"
Cody nodded, his business frown displayed as he let go of Ahsoka's hand, "Well, Hunter, ypu boys better get ready" the Marshal begun to explain as he pulled out a communicator and presented a planet. Ahsoka looked to Cody, he hadn't mentioned they were going on a mission. She saw him give her a smile as she realized. That's why Obi-Wan and Anakin didn't want her going. She tuned in as Cody composed his thoughts, this was going to be fun,
"Let's get started."

Against The Ropes: Arrow 6x02 Review (Tribute)
Arrow delivers another strong episode with “Tribute.” We are on a roll! As I've said, I enjoy Oliver most when he’s up against the ropes and punching his way out. In “Tribute” Oliver is fighting against three heavy weights: Samandra, William and Anatoly. He’s not the only one backed into a corner though. John Diggle is too.
Let’s dig in...
Oliver Queen
Oliver doesn’t always have to punch his way out of a problem. He is an intelligent man with a knack for strategic thinking. The photo of Oliver as the Green Arrow puts him in that frame of mind, which is always enjoyable to watch. He also needs a worthy advisary for this cat and mouse game to be any fun, which is what Agent Watson (FBI!!!!!) brings to the table.
However, I don't think Oliver anticipated the emotional fallout from this photograph. It leads to some very interesting conversations with William, and if you can believe it, Rene. By adding William to the mix, "Tribute" suddenly becomes more about Oliver protecting his son from the consequences of being the Green Arrow rather than himself.

Oliver handles the press with all the schmooze and charm of Tony Stark, but this is DC and not Marvel. We aren't dropping that name. No sir. There are rules about that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source:queensarrow
Everybody knows what a huge Batman fan I am, so yes I absolutely squealed at the mention of the Caped Crusader,
Tumblr media
but now Arrow opened the door. The image of Bruce Wayne hanging out in Star City, drinking a beer with Oliver while talking dead parents and vigilante-ing is one I so desperately need.
Tumblr media
All wishful thinking aside, Oliver's point (and Stephen's line) have a logical point. Any photo can be doctored. A photo doesn't prove anything. Unless the photo actually does prove something, such as this, but that's just details. Keep on dancing Oliver!
Tumblr media
Agent Watson is not buying Oliver's charm. She absolutely believes he is the Green Arrow. I mean... the scruff and handsome cleft chin are evidence enough.
Tumblr media
The dodge and weave is something that's been missing since Quentin discovered Oliver's identity. These scenes with Watson feel very reminiscent of Season 1. I also appreciate that Arrow didn't ignore the history between Quentin and Oliver. There is no emotional baggage with Watson like there was with Lance. Quentin's rage over Sara certainly put Oliver in his crosshairs, but Watson isn't Lance. There's no messy history with Oliver. It makes her investigation simpler. This is just about the Green Arrow.
Tumblr media
Source:queensarrow
Things come to a head when Watson wants to start issuing subpoenas - including one for William. It leads to an interesting confrontation with Oliver. In Season 1, Oliver would have pretended to be the lazy, playboy, billionaire's son. A man too stupid and too selfish to be The Hood.
Tumblr media
Source @olliequeengifs
Oliver has to change his tactics because his public image has changed.
Tumblr media
Now, he's the mayor.  He's a man who cares deeply for his city, but does so within the confines of the law. Oliver comes dressed in a crispy grey suit. He is the perfect image of a law abiding citizen.  This "image" Oliver is presenting to Agent Watson is much closer to who Oliver Queen truly is. Yet, the charming slickness of the playboy remains. Only now Oliver isn't too stupid or selfish to save the city. He's simply too busy already saving it. During the day. As mayor.
Oliver tells Agent Watson he is an open book - except when it comes to William. Oliver is warm, accommodating and gracious. Until he's not.
“If I really am the man you think I am, how far do you think such a man would go to keep his son from being scrutinized?”
Tumblr media
It's a not so subtle threat. Oliver's voice starts off light, a charming little smile playing on his lips, but by the end his voice drops to that familiar lower octave. His smile disappears and he fixes a steely gaze on Agent Watson. He may be dressed as Oliver Queen, but the Green Arrow is in the room too. Neither the suit or the hood is playing.  Not when it comes to William. If there was ever a scene in which Oliver perfectly walks the tightrope of his two selves - this is it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source:  olivergifs
Proof that the photograph is doctored arises just in time (thanks Felicity and Curtis!).
Tumblr media
It takes care of the immediate Agent Watson problem, although not for good. However, this photograph unearthed some long latent fears within William. Fears that will not be solved with quick thinking tech.
William is beaten up by some much larger eighth graders who apparently lack cognitive thinking skills of any kind. At first Oliver is met with a stony silence when he presses William about what happened. (He gets that from you Oliver). Eventually William cracks though and tells Oliver what happened.
Tumblr media
Source: arrowsource
The older kids were teasing William about Oliver "not being there for him" and being the Green Arrow.
Tumblr media
Now, someone is gonna have to walk me around this logic bend cause... WTF? How is Oliver being the Green Arrow mean he's not there for William as his father? You know what? I'm just gonna stop. Bullies never make sense.
Tumblr media
The first thing Oliver tells William is to go for the nose.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source: arrowsource
YEAH BABY!
Tumblr media
This is the Green Arrow parenting I want to see. Anytime anyone messes with my kid I want to tear their head off. We are sympatico Oliver.
Tumblr media
Obviously, we want kids to work through their differences. No need to @ me about the importance of children working through their differences without violence.  It's also important for a child to defend themselves when being attacked, especially if you are Oliver Queen's son.  This is Oliver's world. We saw real parenting confidence in him for the first time. He knows how to handle these types of situations. Oliver teaching William strategy and how to throw a punch is equally as important as math homework in this world.
Tumblr media
However, the physical challenges William are the easy problems. It's the emotional ones that are the humdingers for Oliver. William is angry with Oliver for ditching him in the limo to go Green Arrow.  Sometimes I want to punch The Flash too William. I RELATE KID.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source: westallenolicitygifs
What a heartbreaking line.
Tumblr media
William has gone from a kid who believed so absolutely in the power of The Flash and the Green Arrow to save lives. However, when it mattered the most nobody could save his mother. Not even the Green Arrow.  It brings the much larger issues going on inside William to the surface.
Oliver: I will always come back.
William: Just like my mom?
He’s got ya there Oliver.
Tumblr media
Most children do not worry about their parents dying. In their eyes we are invincible. We are immortal. Until we are not. Children only worry about their parents dying when they are given a reason to.
William has been given more than enough reasons to worry. His mother is dead and his father goes out, night after night, to fight the worst criminals the world has ever seen.  Samantha's death is enough to make William fear losing his father, even if Oliver was a mailman,
However, William shows real self awareness when he tells Oliver the fear he carries is worse because his father willfully throws himself into life or death situations. The circumstances surrounding Samantha's death were out of her control. William understands that on some level and that's scary enough. It’s different with Oliver. Every time he leaves the house William fears losing him. However, Oliver’s extracurricular activities magnify that fear ten fold and with good reason.
Oliver tries to reassure William that he has everything under control. That he can handle any bad guy thrown at him.
Tumblr media
*whistling*
William: What if you can't? I'll be alone. I'll have nobody.
Tumblr media
There it is. What I suspected William is truly afraid of because of course that's what he is afraid of.  William argues Oliver can't understand the fear and pain he carries, but he's wrong. Oliver does understand all too well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source:olivergifs
The image William paints, the one of being all alone, is one his father has lived. Oliver is an orphan. Yes, he may have been older, but Oliver understands the pain and loneliness William feels and fears. He would do anything to protect William from it.
Tumblr media
Oliver makes William a promise. However, it is William's response to it that is so astounding.
Tumblr media
Source:  westallenolicitygifs
Oliver is not God. William knows his father is just trying to reassure him, but this promise is not in Oliver's control. Oliver cannot bend circumstances to his will. He is not invincible. He is not immortal. It's an inescapable truth that comes with losing a parent.
It leads to a beautiful scene with... RENE???
Tumblr media
The description of 6x02 said Oliver goes to a surprising source for parenting advice and boy were they right.  Rene can be off putting and downright offensive, but he can also be really funny and gentle. It's in these softer moments with the character that I like him best. One of my chief complaints with Arrow is that, despite having a large cast, the same characters interact all the time. An emotional moment between these two characters is a nice change of pace from their usual sardonic banter.
Oliver: I’ve never lied to my kid before.
The truth is - William is right. Every time Oliver is in the field he may not come back. No one has to tell Oliver Queen about the risks of being the Green Arrow. He absolutely understands and accepts them.  If he wasn't willing to sacrifice his life then he wouldn't be out there in the first place.
The problem is Oliver is not only responsible for himself now.  In some ways, it's the same reasons Oliver feared being in a relationship with Felicity.
Tumblr media
He didn't want her to be a target or put her life in danger. Life as the Green Arrow would always interfere with life as Oliver Queen. However, Felicity is a grown woman who can make her own decisions. She's also perfectly capable of taking care of herself. William is none of those things. For the first time, Oliver has someone who is truly dependent on him. So, the question becomes - what is Oliver willing to sacrifice for his child? What is he willing to do to make William feel safe and secure?
The first step is to only make William promises Oliver can keep. Rene is right. Little white lies are often a necessary parenting tool, but no parent can promise their child they'll always come home. Especially not to a child who lost a mother. When William lost his mother he lost his tether. Now he's just floating, listless and afraid. Oliver needs to give William a new tether.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oliver admits he was wrong. Stephen Amell does such a wonderful job in this scene showing how much it physically pains Oliver to say those words, especially to his son.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source:arrowsource
HA! Raisa giving William insider tips about Oliver is my lifeblood.
The first promise Oliver makes is:
“I am going to do everything in my power forever to make sure you don't end up in this world alone. I know you think that isn't up to me and that's a fair and smart point, which is why I think I've found so that maybe it can be.”
This promise contains some very interesting phrasing. On the surface it seems like Oliver is hanging up the hood, which by the end of the episode, is exactly what he does. However, the show is called Arrow. He's not hanging up the hood forever. So, how does Oliver keep this promise to William if he puts on the hood again?
I am going to do everything in my power forever to make sure you don't end up in this world alone.
The Season 6 theme is family. The family you are born into and the family you build.  Oliver built a family after he lost his parents. He combated the pain and loneliness with love and friendship. Some of that family includes blood,
Tumblr media
but a lot of it doesn't.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He needs to combat the fear, pain and loneliness in William the same way - with love and friendship.  Oliver needs to build a family that extends beyond just the two of them. So, no matter what happens to Oliver, William knows he will always be loved, he will always be taken care of and he will never be alone.  The more Oliver folds William into the family he built the less fearful his son will be. Oliver can never replace William's mother, but he can help William find security in this new tether.
Now, don't go freaking out on me that Oliver Queen is going to die. That's not the point of this. This isn't foreshadowing of Oliver's death. I don’t belive that’s where we are headed. We danced that dance in Season 3.
Tumblr media
Oliver doesn't fear death. He fears life. The challenge of his hero's story is in living - not dying. However, Arrow has to address the dangers of vigilantism and the realities of parenting. Arrow is pushing Oliver down the road of a big and beautiful life. One filled with meaning, purpose, love, friends and children. I wonder what’s one way Oliver can expand his family. Hmmm...
Tumblr media
But first, William must feel secure with his father before he's ready to expand beyond Oliver. So, this time away from the Green Arrow is incredibly important.
It is not forever though. Eventually, William will come to the decision every person who loves Oliver Queen arrives at. He will learn the Green Arrow is a vital part of who his father is and tell Oliver to suit up again. Essentially, William will join Team Arrow. Maybe he won't be out on the street fighting (not yet anyway), but there are other ways to help. For William, it will be sharing his father with the city. Is that a lot to ask of a ten year old boy? Yes, but that's the point. Selflessness often requires some kind of sacrifice. After all, William is Oliver Queen's son.
John Diggle
What happened to John on Lian Yu is finally revealed!
Tumblr media
Source: dctvpoc
Yes, he caught shrapnel in his shoulder. Yes, it caused nerve damage.  Plus 20 points to everyone who guessed correctly. Minus 100 to every entertainment website reviewer who said it was only mental.
Tumblr media
However, I was not expecting it to be DEGENARATIVE. You mean it's going to get WORSE?
Tumblr media
Minus 100,000 points to everyone because we all lose when John Diggle is in pain.
Tumblr media
John is still refusing to fire his gun, because ya know, aim is important. In his defense, Diggle is pretty handy without the gun too. However, Dinah remains concerned. She feels John is compromised out in the field, which puts lives at risk. Dinah wants John to tell Oliver the truth. Diggle wants Dinah to quit bugging him about it.
Tumblr media
It's not until Dinah is nearly choked to death that Diggle decides she's right. Diggle needed the gun to save Dinah's life, but he couldn't trust his aim. Not unlike what we saw with Rene last week. Dinah is able to save herself (FOR I AM WOMAN HERE MY ROAR), but John cannot ignore the potential threats to his teammates lives.
Tumblr media
So... Rene was almost killed last week when Diggle couldn't fire his gun. However, it's not until DINAH is almost killed that John decides to fess up. Make what you will of that. I’m not saying there’s romance going on right now. I just found it interesting.
Tumblr media
Diggle is firm in his decision to tell Oliver the truth right up until Oliver asks him to be the Green Arrow. There's a moment earlier in "Tribute" when Dinah asks John if he's okay. Diggle immediately starts talking about Oliver and the microscope he's under.
Tumblr media
This frames Diggle's mindset perfectly. For six years, Diggle has put Oliver first. John has been there every step of the way helping Oliver with the challenges he's faced, his moral compass and his emotional evolution. This mission, and being Oliver's best friend, has given John a sense of purpose too. John isn't good at putting himself first, which is exactly what this type of injury requires.
There is only one man Oliver would entrust the city to: John Diggle.
Tumblr media
Source:  smoak-and-mirrors
What Oliver is asking of John is an enormous undertaking. Diggle also knows what the hood and this mission means to Oliver. The only way Oliver is able to walk away is because he knows he's leaving the team and city in good hands. Perhaps, even better hands.
John keeps quiet about the nerve damage because he doesn't want to let Oliver down. He knows William needs Oliver more than ever. John wants to give Oliver time with his son the same way Oliver wanted to give Diggle time with his daughter.
Tumblr media
Diggle says nothing, so Oliver can walk away. He's putting Oliver Queen first because that's all John Diggle knows how to do. It's also what Oliver would do for him. These two are bromance goals y'all.
Tumblr media
There's some serious logistical issues here. If Diggle isn't capable of being in the field as Spartan then he sure isn't as Green Arrow either. How shooting a bow and arrow/crossbow is any easier than a gun is beyond me.
Tumblr media
Arrow better come prepared with a sciencey answer or else I'm calling shenanigans. Regardless, we get a "John Diggle as Green Arrow" centric episode next week and I AM HERE FOR IT.
Felicity Smoak
AND THUS FELICITY SMOAK'S COMPANY IS BORN. We've waited a long time for this my friends.
Tumblr media
Felicity spends most of "Tribute" trying to help Oliver wriggle out of this photograph disaster and talking employment with Curtis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source:  sharingmyworld
Yes, that's right. Arrow finally addresses how everyone makes a living.
Tumblr media
No you are not living in a parallel dimension. This is still earth. One can only surmise from this scene that the impossible can happen.
Curtis lets it slip that he's been doing a little coding on the side, because he didn't take a dime from Paul in the divorce. Yeah, Paul was a physical therapist. They make pretty good money.  That tracks. Also, their divorce was finalized? Damn those go quick when you don't have kids. Yeesh.
Felicity's Palmer Tech severance is starting to dry up which feels like the truest thing Arrow has ever said because do you know how expensive her clothes are? I DO. I SHOP FOR THEM. THEY ARE INSANE.
Tumblr media
She wants Curtis to toss her some of his side coding business. To Curtis' credit, he does say the coding he's doing is a waste of Felicity's talent.
Tumblr media
Felicity ultimately agrees and instead of coding beneath her skill set or working in the dreaded Tech Village again, she decides to go into business for herself - with Curtis as her partner.  Felicity wants to team up and make more cool stuff.

Her absolute insistence that her name comes first throughout the episode, however, is my spirit animal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

Felicity is 100% Jobs.
Tumblr media
I'm not annoyed Felicity is teaming with Curtis. We knew it was coming. However, my one complaint is it seems like Arrow is constantly trying to give Curtis something to do. Since when does a Felicity Smoak algorithm not work?
Tumblr media
Source:  oliverxfelicity
Arrow needs to avoid the trap of dumbing Felicity down so Curtis can contribute. They need to push their separate talents merging into one great idea, rather than Curtis "fixing" something Felicity made.
That said, I am really excited this storyline is finally getting off the ground. Perhaps, Felicity and Curtis' first invention can be something to treat degenerative nerve damage.
Tumblr media
Olicity
Not a lot of Olicity in "Tribute," but never fear. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Felicity is obviously extremely worried about Oliver.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source:westallenolicitygifs
Bae is trouble and she is NOT having it. She insists Oliver LAWYER UP, but he doesn't want to look like he has anything to hide.
Agent Watson: Do you know the kind of person who says that?
Oliver: No.
Agent Wilson: The kind that needs a lawyer.
I've watched enough crime shows to know this is absolutely true. I guess I’m done with the book learnin’.
Tumblr media
There's a couple "so married" moments too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source:westallenolicitygifs
Felicity signals Curtis to veer closure to the hour mark versus 30 days for the completion of the photograph analysis to ease Oliver's stress. Then, when Oliver questions whether or not Felicity sent them to the correct location we get this gem of interaction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

Felicity:
Tumblr media
Don’t question the wifey, Oliver.
It's a little moment, but I loved when Felicity told Curtis that before the photograph her biggest worry was finding another job. It wasn't her relationship with Oliver or William.  It's just another little signal that Felicity and Oliver are on the same page. Everything will fall into place when the time is right.
However, the best is a “blink and you’ll miss it” moment.
Tumblr media
Barry was in the speed force for the last six months. He wouldn’t have been able to give Wiliam that backpack. So... isn’t it more likely FELICITY did? Just a subtle way she can show William she cares without overwhelming him. She’s watching from the sidelines waiting for the right time to go in.
Tumblr media
I don’t care if I’m wrong. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED. I decided.
Anatoly
Anatoly is back and he's a lean, mean, killing machine. He's been outed by the Bratva for being too soft due to his friendship with Oliver. He's out to prove he's anything but. I'm almost as upset over Anatoly and Oliver's break up as I was over Olicity's.
Tumblr media
Anatoly puts a bullet in his hostage right in front Oliver. HARSH.  However, Oliver is not able to return Anatoly's kill or be killed sentiment. One reason is because of what he learned from Adrian Chase. The other is because Oliver still cares for Anatoly. He doesn't want to kill him and Anatoly knows it. This will add an interesting push/pull layer between the two characters.
It seems like Anatoly is still adhering to some kind of code, insisting he's still an honorable man. He didn't release the photo of the Green Arrow. That wouldn't be playing fair. Which, of course, begs the question who did? (My money is on Cayden James since Felicity's algorithm was stumped at first).
Anatoly reflects on his honor and what he will and won't do. It is a bone chilling conversation. This is no longer the warm Russian mobster we loved. What replaced is a stone cold killer who is not  so subtlety threatening Oliver's son. This version of Anatoly is a stranger to us. Even to Oliver. It's one of the reasons I believe Oliver hangs up the hood. When Anatoly pulls that trigger he makes it clear to Oliver that he's willing to go all the way. Oliver cannot say the same. However, half the fun will be watching Oliver try to find another way that stops short of killing his old friend.
Stray Thoughts
New title card. Every character gets their own symbol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The final three are Felicity, Diggle and Oliver. Their symbols spell OTA. As it should be. Arrow knows how important OTA is.  Source arrowsource
Dinah has mastered the withering stare.
"I told Zoe she was made from a cloud." My husband starts taking notes.
Rene saying he's a feminist is oddly hilarious.
Not to be nitpicky but Oliver has lied to William before. He didn’t tell William he was his father or the Green Arrow.
Thanks @callistawolf for her brillant heavyweight analogy

So I decided to re-watch and catch up on The 100...
*SPOILERS UP UNTIL S6*
I stopped watching around the end of Season 2 (maybe the beginning of S3?) back when the episodes were still coming out, and when a friend spoiled Lexa’s death to me I decided to stop. I didn’t have a TV so I’d watch each new episode online, then I fell behind by a few weeks and a friend vented to me about how The 100 pulled a Kill the Gays Trope. And then the news of her death reallllly blew up and you couldn’t go anywhere on Twitter/Tumblr without hearing about Clexa and the death of their relationship. So I stopped watching and moved on with my life.
Fast forward to todays Quarantine Time, and I’m looking through Netflix and lo and behold there is The 100. I had no idea where I left off and forgot most of what I had seen so I decided to finally catch up, starting with the finale of Season 2.
I got into The 100 because I really liked the idea of these ‘futuristic’ kids from space getting sent to Earth to find out they’re not alone. And not just that, but an entirely new and unique warrior culture spanning 12 clans sprang up since the apocalypse. Seeing The 100 clash with them, trying to navigate this new environment, was very interesting to me and adding in the Mount Weather bunker just thickened the plot.
Rn I’m at the beginning of Season 6 and god I am tired of this goddamn show. The first 3 seasons held so much promise with a unique storyline I hadn’t seen before. But ever since then, its the same thing over and over. Some new baddie shows up, everyone fights each other then allofasudden a new apocalyptic situation arises and everyone needs to dip. I hate it. FUCk, it’s so annoying. I liked the show better when the clans actually meant something, and so did their culture, and they were at the forefront of the plot. I liked the show better when it /wasn’t/ a convoluted mess of exaggerated nonsense that ended in 3 different versions of the apocalypse.
The show was doing something right in the beginning. Now, it’s like the writers can’t fathom any kind of plot progression if it doesn’t consist of  Recognize Enemy -> Make a TON of Stupid Choices -> Final Battle -> New Apocalypse. Rinse and repeat. Also, Clarke has c o n s i s t e n t l y made stupid decision after stupid decision. I used to really like her character, but now I hate that dumb bitch. I hate all of them. The writers definitely made all the characters drink Stupid Juice™ so that they could draw up some kind of plot from their empty drawers. And I hate it. The plot is a mess. If they had followed up the end of the Alie A.I. storyline with something else (Honestly, anything else) and not another Praimfaya then I think the show would’ve gone in a better direction. Maybe if there was no new Praimfaya and they just tried to work out the aftermath of the City of Light, and then the writers introduced these Miner Prisoners, the show would’ve been infinitely better,
What has me the most fed up now is that Season 6 is looking to just be the same exact goddamn thing. Bruh I’m done. I don’t even wanna finish this season. Convoluted nonsense with exaggerated violence that exists solely for the shock value followed by the characters wearing indestructible Plot Armor with a heavy dose of Stupid Juice doused in Melodrama™.
For example, if Clarke had just....SHOT McCreary before he punched in all the codes for those bombs....wtf was she afraid of, that she’d be shot in return?! Bitch, he was about to destroy the earth I’d take that sacrifice anyday. Every person in that room (who, btw, would suffer the same fate of his decision regardless of faction affiliation so I really doubt they would all just let it happen) just stood there and let it happen. But the writers needed Melodrama™ so she just stood there like a limp banana even though she had him in her crosshairs, and even though everyone in that room could’ve easily overpowered that one guy no one did a thing.
The ending of Season 5 was plain stupid and rushed. I seriously tossed my water bottle across the room the moment it was revealed that the last habitable part of the earth was about to get nuked and they had to escape to space. Wtf. WTF. AGAIN?! And waking up to a whole other planet, and S6 sets it up that this planet is mad dangerous and the locals are stupid crazy. I’m over ittttt.
I’m venting. I’m just so disappointed. I used to really like this show, and now it’s just a hollow shell of its former self. The 100? More like, The 3 & 1/2, give or take. The show’s strength was the actual 100, the clans and their culture, and how they each navigated this strange post-apocalypse. Now it’s just ridiculous. And I’ve heard that it’s been renewed for a 7th season and I’m thinking: what the FUCK could they POSSIBLY write about for a whole other season?! Bet, it’s gonna be some dumb shit conflict that could be easily resolved but the characters are just going to be constantly making dumb choices and it will end in the shows, like, 5th Apocalypse.

Transformers The Last Knight spoiler thoughts
Here are my notes for the movie. I have to go back soon to watch it again for technical details/film minor purposes. But these are my super unprofessional opinions. Mostly me screaming about my robot children.
Enjoy? :’D
-entire beginning (the random kids, Izabella and Mark’s appearance) was a bit weak. Starting in medias res without explaining.
- Though watching Bee drag Santiago’s ass around while he was shrieking was A+
- Hyped up Izabella yet after first part of movie, she was barely in it. Moner’s an amazing actress, she’s gonna go places. I hope to see her around some more. She’s adorable, I get slight TFP Miko feels from her, sneaky child (especially towards the end when she sneaks aboard and is like yeah idk how I got here lol)
- Sqweeks the new BB8, a good child.
- nice team Prime exposition in the junkyard. I wish there was more of this type of interaction , showing that the robots are more than just bloodthirsty walking metal.
- Man the fucking tension between BB and Crosshairs, just rolling around in the dust, fucking make out already.
- Drift is my temperamental son and I love him.
- Baby dinobots are literal puppies and Cade sorta just adopted a ragtag team of jittery orphans and I’m emotional.
-STARSCREAM MY DARLING *SOBS*
- BUDLIGHT HARHAR
- nice Tessa and Cade family moment
- Hound is mah boi, a gentle giant
- Military is like “that voice…it’s Megatron” but this is Welker’s first time voicing Megatron (not counting Galvatron) so XD but yes to Frank Welker finally getting the job as Megatron.
- wtf is megatron doing, did they really give back a few criminal decepticons for two CIA agents. Him on his throne was YES. The lawyer scene was pretty funny. But they don’t explain how he turned from galvatron to megatron again. When did he contact Quintessa?
- DECEPTICON SQUADDD GOOD SHIT GOALS
- My treacherous friend- GOD DAMN Megatron should’ve kept starscream’s head and just had fun commentary all throughout the movie. Imagine tho ((SHIT WHAT WOULD  STARSCREAM DO…FUCK UP THAT’S WHAT… STORECREAM THIS IS YOUR FAULT OH WAIT YOU DEAD…SCRIMSCRAM YOURE USELESS))
- DRIFT’S ALT MODE IS FUCKING GORGEOUS LORD HAVE MERCY
- Cogman is already badass, rip Crosshair’s fingers.
- It felt like two separate movies the moment Cade left for London. The joys of Bayverse script quality
- Anthony Hopkins sure travels fast
 - they totally put Simmons in for the hell of it, he wasn’t necessarily needed. But who cares Easter eggs, it’s been a while buddy, how’ve you been.
-UNICRON??? OHHHHHHHHHH
- Vivian’s clothes and boyfriend problems, enough with the forced romance already. At least her mother and gaggle of old ladies wouldn’t have minded if she chose a girlfriend apparently? Wow wouldn’t that have been nice. She’s going to date that one cute gal on her polo game team and Cade’s saving himself for OP CLEARLY
- The watch that killed Hitler - international treasure
- is that an Aston Martin?? all of Anthony Hopkins cars made me super fucking jealous. That was pure car porn and I loved it
- Cogman is MVP
 - MOVE BITCH GET OUT THE WAY
- Optimus got turned real quick. He has less screentime than Megatron rip my father- almost every moment of him and Quintessa was already in the trailer. And they kept pushing his storyline aside in favor of the humans like honey no. Show me more conflict and torture on his side, so there’s progression in him being “brainwashed”, that seemed almost too easy, it’s insulting. Quintessa got so little screentime, it made her seem less intimidating.
- She slapped the evil red paint into him hell yeah. Clearly she did the same to Megatron. I wanted to see that lmao. Why the hell was megatron working for her in the first place. How do you have so much shit happen yet give us nothing
- Wait so…does Cybertron have rocket boosters how is it moving towards Earth so fast…cool
- they under used all the robot characters, pushing so much history and exposition on the audience through human perspective when they had a plethora of robot characters that could’ve explained their past. So much potential but no steps are taken. Like Bee was around WWII but he doesn’t say anything when they’re discussing it like hello? Could’ve used Hot Rod better too. He’s a good boy, let him do more.
- drift and crosshairs have basically no role towards the end except to play pilot and they’re barely on screen even then. Whyyyy. They shined the most during the junkyard scene in the beginning.
 - Andd we have to watch Vivian stare at Cade’s nipnops for a full minute and listen to cringe-y forced romance
 - Cogman I love you. He ain’t having none of Cade and Vivian’s romance bullshit. I want him to be my sushi chef.
- Its like the TRF can’t fucking decide what their goal is. They’re too afraid to shoot Cade. Half the time they’re the “bad guys” half the time they just go along with what’s happening with a huge question mark on their face. No real explanation on why Lennox and Epps are there.
- Nemeis Optimus doesn’t even sound that different from regular Optimus lmaoo, it’s just rah I will kill you all!! Just a regular old day in the life of bayverse OP. *Puts on sunglasses* just chill, sit down, relax, stop screaming.
- Puts staff in boobs subspace. TIT POCKETS GOOD SHIT
- Wow Optimus snapped out of it real quick. But his scene with bumblebee was one of the most heart warming in this movie. Bee’s voice asdfghjkl;
- I am your oldest friend, BITCH YOU HIS SON
 - Every time he said nemesis prime, I cringed and laughed
 - WOW Megatron stole the staff from OP’s TITS
- Optimus getting his ass kicked by the knights and megatron was the highlight of my day. He’s so small compared to them and just fuck yeah my sadistic needs
- yes he stabbed/ripped a face again, we need to talk about your face ripping fetish
- OPTIMUS RUNNING HOLY SHIT LOL I WANT THAT GIF'ED I WANT ALL THE ROBOT RUNNING TO BE IMMORTALIZED
 - Megatron uses HEADBUTT. Effectiveness? To be determined.
- megatron is once again playing secondary villain, interacts with Prime for a total of thirty seconds before blasting off again. Wow nice seeing these two ex husbands interact 30 seconds out of a three hour movie wow. You know what they could’ve done? Shown more of Quintessa Optimus and Megatron interaction like how would Megs and Op treat each other when they thought they were on the same side like WOW THAT WOULDVE BEEN COOL YKNOW
- When will Megatron get to be the main villain again. Let the old man be dramatic.
- SAY HELLO TO MY FRIEND BUMBLEBEE. HAH. SAY HELLO TO MY SON BUMBLEBEE. This is the corny shit i come to see!!
- quintessa also went down real quick but she’s got some cool shit planned. She’s Asian!!?? I love her she’s beautiful.
- So there was less action/explosions this movie. Most of it came from the humans/car chases and their poor Ospreys getting murdered. There was really only the decepticons squad attack and the final battle which I felt was pretty underwhelming compared to the usually drawn out fights in the other four movies. Don’t know if this was a plus or a negative.
- every time they mentioned unicron I was screaming.
- now Unicron and Primus are literal neighbors hey wassup this will only end well.
- it was a shit show from beginning to end but a decent blockbuster mind numbing experience I guess. Did I enjoy it tho? The first time I watched it, I was in the moment. The second time? Oh my god did it fucking suck so hard. The story-telling was absolutely terrible and inconsistent.
- they gave me 3D glasses but there was barely a difference from watching without. I watched it without the glasses. Waste of an extra 10 bucks.
- I need to be more professional in note taking OTL
