#and first time drawing ralsei without the hat
Text
Something very weird happened last night. I had a dream about writing and posting a Deltarune theory and... it was actually pretty coherent? So may as well post it in the waking world as well. XD
To start with, we can all agree that eyes, their visibility, and what they see seem to be a recurring motif in Deltarune. Kris, Ralsei, and Susie all begin with Kris and Susie hiding their eyes with their bangs, and Ralsei hiding his whole face with his hat. By the end of the chapter, as Susie and Ralsei have both opened up to others more, Susie’s eyes appear consistently on her portrait while Ralsei begins walking around without his hat. The first time Kris decisively shows that they are not a blank slate protagonist and have motives of their own, we get a glimpse of a red eye. Furthermore, in the unnerving landscape leading up to Empty Town, we see eyes carved in the cliffs, accompanied by the riddle ‘Only eyes blinded by darkness can see.’ These eyes later reappear on the bodies of the Titans, in Ralsei’s description of the Roaring and the accompanying cutscene.
The theory in my dream was that, following this theme, all Chapter Bosses would have obscured or unusual eyes. And so far... they seem to! King’s whole face is a spade, giving the impression his eyes are completely hidden by shadows. Queen’s ‘eyes’ are really a visor, which she can display words and symbols on, but which are clearly different from organic eyes because she remarks on having bad facial recognition, to the point she can’t recognize Noelle as Noelle when Noelle’s disguise is literally just a bag over her head.
A lot of people have been drawing fandesigns of the supposed boss of Chapter 3, believed to be named something like ‘Tenna’, ‘Anne Tenna’, or ‘Aunt Tenna’. A lot of these designs will draw heavy inspiration from a strange face found as an easter egg in Spamton’s basement. But when we see the grinning TV at the end of Chapter 2, there are no eyes. It’s quite unlike the smily face associated with Flowey and Chara, their ‘=)’. Really, it reminds me a lot more of Sans’ smile. A crescent, simplistic details of teeth. No eyes. It’s somewhat similar to the face in Spamton’s basement, in that the teeth are in detail, but it’s not squiggly or dimpled like the basement smile-- in contrast, the lines are quite neat. Perhaps it’s because, needing to be fit on a tv screen, Toby had to sacrifice detail. Or perhaps the face in Spamton’s basement was hinting at a different person, or was even a red herring.
So, while we won’t be able to confirm this theory for some time, it could mean something that Chapter 2 closed on just a smile with no eyes, that that was the cliffhanger Toby Fox wanted to leave us on. Did he leave out the eyes for insignificant reasons? Or is it a recurring theme that, like our three protagonists, the bosses of the Dark Worlds all lack visible or conventional eyes? That they all possess ‘eyes blinded by darkness’?
Might the Knight’s design also lack visible eyes?
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see tho.
For theorizing on who the real owner of the pink and yellow eyes could be, if it isn’t Tenna, this theory by @ariadnesweb is a rather interesting one...

Deltarune: Two Ralsei Princes & Prinx Archa (2022)
----------------------------------------------------
Credit for Deltarune & Undertale goes to Toby Fox
---------------------------------
like it shows in this drawing, I do plan to post this over at Deviantart.
so the drawing will be both here and over there.
Archa is the sibling of Prince Ralsei (the version from Chapter 1.)
they are very protective of Ralsei, who they affectionately call “Rally”
kind of like how Asriel is called “Azzy”, so many of you might of guessed
that Archa’s name is a anagram of Chara.
they keep themself hidden the whole time when Ralsei meets Kris & Susie at Castle Town, but follows them (at first just Kris and Ralsei) outside to the Other Dark World/Card Kingdom, to keep a eye on them and step in if needed.
Archa wears the same outfit as their brother, only they have a spade instead of a heart on their cloak, the color of their cloak and hat is Aqua and so are their Glasses. their scarf is dark purple.
their eyes are light blue, their skin is dark blue, their rosy cheeks are blue.
and their hair color is a light aqua.
if the Ralsei that appears in Chapter 2 when Susie and Kris go back to the Dark World, isn’t the same one that we first meet in Castle Town in Chapter 1.
then I think Archa (who is still a OC of a Fanon Timeline/AU...)
would see the differences between that one and their brother,
for one they have known each other since they had adopted each other as siblings, and Archa knows that THEIR brother is the same height as both them and Kris, and their horns are smaller, while The Other Ralsei seems to be a few inches taller than Kris and has slightly longer horns.
another thing that Archa would notice, is that their brother’s feet are smaller than the Other Ralsei’s feet.
Archa might be a little like Chara, but with Other Darkners...
the only Darkner they see as a precious twilight of innocence that has to be protected at all cost, would be their adoptive brother Ralsei.
well both him, and Prince Lancer, who they start to secretly start to find to be another precious twilight of innocence that needs to be protected.
over time, Archa would slowly not be so Misanthrope with Other Darkners.
but they will fight any Lightner or Darkner who might try to harm their brother.
I’m not sure if Ralsei has any Parents and if he doesn’t, this would mean only one thing.....he might be a Orphan and the same can be said for Archa.
if they met by maybe the Delta Rune Door, Archa could of used to live on the other side or had lived at another Dark World that is Unknown....
maybe a Doll Kingdom, I don’t know....maybe that could work...?
I just wanted to draw a sibling for Ralsei who is also a type of Darkner Counterpart of Chara from Undertale.
even if Kris is a counterpart of both Chara & Frisk...
Archa can be a type of counterpart as well, and they live in the Dark World with their adoptive brother.
Archa’s Royal Title being “Prinx” makes sense because of obvious reasons.
and well if they are a Nonbinary Girl, then they could go by both Prinx & Princess, as well as They/Them & She/Her.
and maybe go by Enby & Girl....I mean some versions of them would.
Archa might know that when Kris falls asleep, the Hollow-Soul in their body takes over and rips out their Red Soul out.
I think a Hollow-Soul doing that at the end of both Chapter 1 and 2 so far,
makes sense....a Hollow-Soul is like a Soulless Heart type thing, but it has no filling in the middle and it’s like a heart shaped hole in the middle.
also even though I will be posting this same drawing on the other place I post art (and I know I still have to do the same with a few others...)
but I don’t want this to be reblog on here without my okay with it...
that is why the tag “do not reblog without permission” is on this.
anyway hope some of you like the idea about Ralsei having a sibling named Archa, who is kind of named after Chara.
and if Ralsei is the same age as Kris and Susie, then it would make sense for Archa to be the same age as those three as well.
Archa could use different types of weapons to fight, when Mercy isn’t a option right away.
like they could use either a fencing sword, boxing gloves or a Hammer.
like a type of Hammer like Amy Rose or The Mario Bros use.
the Hammer could be their favorite thing to use out of the other two.
maybe I will draw Archa again sometime, even if they might not become very famous, I’m fine with that.
they are a OC and I will still like them even if they don’t become famous or end up being drawn by others, even if some might want to draw them, I be fine with it so long as I am given Credit.
anyway I’m going to check out some art on here before I post up FNAF theory.
and when I am able to, I will draw Prinx Archa The Sibling Of Ralsei again.
this is my first drawing of Archa, so I will do a second drawing of them.

yo dawg any thoughts on DR chapter 2 thus far
Tumblr media
I SURE DO because BOY there was a lot to unpack in that chapter. I'm still trying to sort out my thoughts about it, I like literally just finished the alt route a few hours ago which just gave me a whole bunch of new info to try and sort through, haha. I’m going to need to sit down and really think about it for a while before I can start spinning things together effectively.
BUT ANYWAY, FOR QUICK SPOILER-FREE THOUGHTS CHAPTER 2 WAS REALLY GOOD AND I LIKED IT MORE THAN CHAPTER 1 TBH I loved the expanded mechanics and the new sense of depth to everything, it gave a much clearer picture of what Deltarune is going to be than Chapter 1 I think. I think I was also more open to it this time since I was prepared for it going in - I got totally blindsided by Chapter 1 and had no idea what was going on or what it meant or if it was a sequel or what, but this time I knew what the deal was so I could just take Chapter 2 on its own merits. Loved the characters and the enemies and the bullet patterns were all really cute, loved it. It all felt really cohesive.
SPOILER THOUGHTS UNDER THE CUT for both the main route and the alt route (I like the name Snowgrave for it but in my head I just keep calling it the alt route, haha)
I’ll just do this as a list because I don’t have the energy to really get in-depth with a lot of it at the moment.
I’m really suspicious of Ralsei. I was suspicious of him before but I’m really suspicious of him now. It’s weird he can walk around in other dark worlds without turning to stone, that there’s a room for Asriel in the Queen’s mansion and not one for him, and VERY weird that he knew exactly what Kris had to do in the real world to bring the other darkners back into the dark world. How did he know that. Also he looked cuter with his hat.
Spamton is great and creepy, I was able to do his battle first try! Which was way better luck than I had with Jevil lol. Although, today I went to try and do it again just to check, and I spared Jevil my first try. :O So maybe Jevil got rebalanced? I dunno, it just seemed a lot easier all of a sudden. ANYWAY, SPAMTON IS GREAT
Spamton has to be ghost related but i’m not sure how yet, I assume Mettaton due to the form and the wings and the name and the recurring Neo motif in his theme, but there was also general ghost motifs in his theme as well and some things don’t add up. It did look like you find the disk in Mettaton Neo’s discarded body, and Seam says it might have belonged to an old Lightner. A lot of ghost connections. What if Spamton is Dess’s ghost
Love Queen and the Tasques, goes without saying I’m sure, all the enemies were so cute. Loved checking on Lancer in my items.
Hugely pleased with the ramped up gay and also Noelle is precious
Kris opening the fountains is an interesting twist. I wonder if they opened the first castle town fountain or not (also, no one else seems to see the castle town door?). It’s weird because there was a door connecting castle town to the card world, and there was no door to the cyberworld. But somehow Ralsei knew how to get there anyway? How did he get there? How could he tell. Ralsei’s up to something. I do not trust him.
Susie’s the best
The Snowgrave route is really creepy in a different way than the murder run in Undertale which I’m very intrigued by, I want to see where that’s going. There are interesting parallels you could draw between Kris controlling Noelle and the player controlling Kris, but again it’s something I’ll have to think more about before it becomes something more coherent. Something something “strength” being achieved by giving up control to someone else, blocking out what they do, just doing whatever they tell you, something something
lol berdly died lol kris just shoving his body in a closet
The Flowey TV at the end is also intriguing, I wonder if Flowey is the one forcing Kris to remove their SOUL and do stuff. I wonder. Kris moves so jerkily without your control and also it seems like it takes a lot of time for Kris to get enough strength or control to move to pull the soul out in the first place. There’s the puppet/string connection that Spamton highlights, but also when he says that even when all the strings were cut, he wasn’t free. It could be that taking out YOUR soul just leaves Kris open to Flowey’s control instead. I dunno. Lot of questions.
Also strange that Kris deliberately opened the front door and turned on the TV before opening the fountain. And that they take their SOUL out pretty regularly, apparently? Toriel doesn’t seem that bothered by Kris spending a ton of time in the bathroom with the water on, anyway.
So Kris opened the fountain in the library at the end of chapter 1, then also went and ate all the pie. Then Kris went out and slashed Toriel’s tires (presumably) and possibly ate all the sugar in her car before opening the fountains. I wonder if there’s a connection between sugar and Kris pulling your soul out to do whatever.
Ralsei says darkners turn to stone when they’re in a world that’s not their own, Onion says they hear a song from the ocean they can’t remember but they’re sure they’ve heard it before (Mother 1 nod, I see you!):
Tumblr media
Just gonna throw this out there.
I spent a bunch of time getting the egg and putting it in Asgore’s fridge and NOTHING, DANG IT
Noelle seems able to hear your voice as the player, or at least a strange terrifying voice that doesn’t seem to be Kris’s. My guess is the player, but if the TV really is Flowey, then maybe it’s him? Questions.
lol throughout the snowgrave route i called noelle my murder girlfriend
By the way you can do the Snowgrave route even if you’ve spared everyone up to that point. You can also start sparing people again right after Noelle leaves. Thus names like Murder run or Genocide run don’t really fit to me. Neither does weird run, weird implies something a lot less... dark? I think Snowgrave is the way to go here. Or alt I guess but that’s pretty vague, although people will probably know what you’re talking about.
I CAN’T BELIEVE I GOT ROBBED OF PAPYRUS AGAIN well no I can believe that, part of me thought that might happen BUT I WAS HOPING
The difficulty level was nice throughout, not too hard and not too easy. Close shaves, but nothing frustrating. I think I actually only died to Berdly and Spamton on the Snowgrave route, come to think of it. NO WAIT I died a lot to the teacups leading up to Spamton’s battle lol but that doesn’t count.
There’s a lot you can make out of Spamton’s dialogue and I don’t have the energy to stitch it all together right now though, haha. What he says in the store about, what was it... a call for you, asking if anyone was there? And then in the Snowgrave route where he says you can call for friends all you want and they won’t answer? An Earthbound nod of course, but still. It makes me wonder where things are going.
(There’s a second thing I want to tie to that but I’ll probably make that a separate post)
Given that Toby said there’d only be one ending and there are routes where Berdly is alive or DEAD, I get the feeling we’re heading for a “rocks fall, everyone dies” ending more than ever. Or an ending where the world of Deltarune is destroyed and becomes Undertale, or something. idk. I’m just speculating.
There’s an explanation for Kris’s saves now! Theories I had about it before are off-base now with new information, haha. So Kris has been saving in every dark world they create, which includes Castle Town. Well, if not them though, they saved over SOMEone’s file when they showed up there. I do wonder why the spade king and Queen didn’t recognize Kris though if they were the one convincing them to create chaos in their kingdoms. Although the video of the fountain being created DID say that there was so much smoke, you couldn’t see who was doing it. Maybe Kris was in disguise.
Spamton says something very weird when he talks about the knight at his store, which makes sense if Kris was actually the knight. I can’t remember it exactly though right now.
Spamton is really insistent on talking to Kris alone.
It could be that Kris is exploring the nature of freedom/control with Noelle during the Snowgrave route since they’re struggling with that themselves. Although the closer glimpses of the player during that route (when she seems to hear you, the player’s voice) make that a bit fuzzy.
It’s interesting that Noelle’s description says she freezes the enemy right off the bat before you do anything. Also she’s really hesitant and resistant about going to Spamton’s shop specifically it seems, and when she’s there she says something that implies “why did you bring me HERE” along with the odd line “there’s no one here, no one at all” and that it’s creepy and weird, but also nostalgic for her. I almost wonder if Noelle had something to do with Dess’s death (I assume Dess is dead from how everyone talks about her). Or if she believes she did, anyway. She could just be nostalgic for the scared feeling like she says to Kris later on a normal route, but I dunno. It’s weirdly specific.
When you fight enemies down with Noelle, it always says “Noelle got stronger” even if Noelle doesn’t kill the enemy with her magic, even though I’m pretty sure her stats don’t change unless you get the ice kill.
I remember when I played the first chapter I wanted to do a murder run immediately afterwards (that’s me! I’m still doing that!) and then as I went through I noticed I wasn’t killing anyone, no matter how hard I tried. They’d always heal themselves or run away until the game went the way it wanted me to, with only minor differences. To be honest, I found it kind of frustrating. It really did feel like control was being taken away from me, particularly because it presented the option and then did nothing with it. Why let me fight if it doesn’t do anything? Why harp so much on making good choices if I can’t make any other ones? What’s the point?
Then in chapter 2, it turns out oh hey, fighting will make you lose recruits, and it’s like alright, that makes more sense. But still I felt railroaded into this sort of fluffy, feel-good kind of path. Even when I fought everyone off on a normal route, it mostly went the same except with a few different bits of dialogue. Again, it was weirdly frustrating. It felt like something was missing.
And then, you get Noelle. And then it turns out you DO have a way to kill people, after all this time. NOW you have a chance to take control and stop doing what the game clearly wants you to do, and what everyone is telling you to do. You’ve found a loophole! YOU can’t kill anyone, but NOELLE can. There was a definite kind of contrary rebelliousness during that run for me, a kind of “you can’t stop me from doing this or ruining what you wanted me to do” kind of feeling, which I assume is meant to mirror how Kris feels all the time when your soul is in them. I didn’t see it as a need or instinct to level Noelle (no one in the game can even get levels through exp! There’s no point! No one’s important stats ever change except through equipment!), just a realization that you found a loophole in what you’re supposed to do - or who you’re supposed to be. Noelle’s just a tool for that, which Spamton even calls you out about in his final battle by asking if you want to “use” her again when you call for her.
AND SHE COMES WHEN YOU CALL HER TOO HOW DOES SHE DO THAT
Also interesting: when you call for your friends in that route to help you, they don’t come/can’t hear you, and Spamton says it’s your fault. If you call for your weapon though (Noelle) she comes almost immediately. You don’t even have to call her, you whisper her name once and she’s there.
There’s a lot going on in the route is the jist, haha.
I HOPE ASGORE IS DOING OKAY ;_; HE HAS TO BEG SANS FOR FREE PICKLES
I also noticed that when Sans is like “oh you keep your flowers under glass huh, like that movie” Asgore is like “yes it’s... very similar to that movie” with a shifty look. The flower in Beauty and the Beast symbolized the prince’s life. Asgore what are you up to. Did you get up to murdering antics again. He DOES say he talks to the flowers a lot.
I think the dark worlds are getting stronger, since in Chapter 1 everyone went home mostly fine, but in Chapter 2 injuries seem to carry over. Berdly freaking dies lol in the Snowgrave route, but also if you fight the Queen during that battle where Berdly has a wire in his face, he’ll eventually pull off the wire himself and in the process burn up his arm all crispy. Then in the real world, his arm is paralyzed! So things are definitely carrying over from one to the other.
Queen has to be related to Susie’s mom issues. Ralsei says darkners are meant to serve Lightners and follow them and bring them happiness - darkners might be a kind of Silent Hill thing where they reflect what Lightners want or fear (Noelle wants her mom to love and prioritize her happiness over everything, perhaps, or is just afraid of how smothering and controlling she can be). Also sad that the Ambulance enemies show up right after you get Noelle. :( And Queen mentions Noelle making a lot of sad and strange searches - I assume searches about whatever illness her dad has or how to deal with grief or guilt.
I thought maybe Spade King was Susie related thusly because he talks a lot about being a Bad Guy, but on second thought, his main motivation is resentment about being discarded and forgotten by Lightners and the people who used to give him purpose. Maybe he’s a reflection of Kris’s issues about Asriel leaving. Just speculating.
For some reason I pictured Asriel as a like football bro due to all his trophies but it sounds like he’s just a wussy as Ralsei is lol. Which makes sense. Ralsei was always kind of worryingly accepting of the abuse you dish out to him, he’ll forgive Kris of practically anything (I gave him an S. Poison and he was like OW! I mean, uh, thanks Kris! Haha!), he’s so desperate for Kris’s validation and affection. Asriel seems to have a sort of similar tendency in constantly going to confession for KRIS’S sins and sobbing about them FOR you. I wonder if Ralsei is just Asriel’s dark world form in disguise, thus why he hid his face for so long from you and changed his name.
(If Ralsei is Asriel in disguise then that makes his behavior towards his sibling PRETTY WEIRD tbh)
Kris is such a weird edgy kid. I worry about them, haha. I don’t think it’s as simple as Kris being an antagonist to the player or the player being an antagonist to Kris. It’s definitely interesting that Kris is making the fountains and the player is the one sealing them (it specifically says its your soul doing it). At first glance, making more fountains does seem like it’ll plunge the world into darkness and chaos, but then again... Ralsei’s the one telling you that, and who knows. Maybe he has his own agenda. There was a lot in this chapter about how the dark world is better than the light one.
If the dark world versions are meant to reflect the lightner’s souls or innermost desires or idealized visions of themselves, then Kris’s soul/desire/vision of themselves is... a corpse-blue dead knight. Bit worrying.
Awful lot of scarves in chapter 2 that pushed for Ralsei to attack people. A lot of attack uppers for him. Even Spamton’s item is a weapon for him that mentions abandoning healing. I know Jevil dropped a weapon for Susie too, but I dunno.
The fact you can fuse the Thorn Ring with a Pure Crystal (wherever that is) to make a creepy sword makes me think Noelle is going to come back again. Unless you’re supposed to get the thorn ring and then take it off her and abort the run at Berdly, which you could do I suppose. Still, it makes me think you and Noelle are going to keep going down that path together.
(What if the Pure Crystal is frozen Berdly? D: Or even an item you get off of Noelle if you kill her?)
Also very interesting that the ending credit theme is a glitchy version of the first chapter end theme. Don’t Forget was reprising constantly through the first chapter, but only showed up rarely in the second one. I only remember hearing a snip of it once, come to think of it, and I can’t remember where.
Boy there was a lot of shipteasing in pretty much every direction, wasn’t there?
ANYWAY THAT’S ALL I GOT RIGHT NOW I’m going to keep thinking about it though.

For the character ask, susie
First impression - okay so imagine you are a small me whose only exposure to deltarune was being spoiled for kris ripping out their soul at the end. you're having a good time in class watching alphys putter around looking for chalk and berdly stamp all over noelle and kris. and then SUSIE kicks open the door. and then susie eats chalk and SLAMS kris against a locker. and then she calls them a FREAK. already i knew in my heart that she would be one of my favorite characters. already i knew (i didn't ACTUALLY know but y'know) that when the time came to draw from the spade bucket i would pick susie's piece of paper without fail. she deserves good things
Impression now - susie is so important!!!! susie is the most important character in deltarune perhaps!!!!! susie is a friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she DOES deserve good things! susie susiE SUSIE SUSIE she cares so much about lancer and kris and ralsei and noelle and berdly and she cares she cares she cares and she changed the act all by herself and she cusses and she would attack anyone with her axe to protect her friends and she's just a kid who deserves a good family and we know absolutely nothing about her backstory and i love her. i love her i love her.
Favorite moment - okay so like. the entirety of chapter 2's opening. it's so refreshing after chapter 1 to see her so... happy? so open and enthusiastic and- and how she already cares for noelle, and how hilarious her talk with queen is (the part with her and the axe legit had me and my friend in hysterics) and then! and then how she drags ralsei off immediately and you can see them walking off! and eating cotton candy together!!! and !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and also how suddenly expressive all her sprites are! it's LOVELY
Idea for a story - hmmm. her and kris and ralsei go ham at their endless wardrobes together. exploring what susie prefers to wear and what she doesn't want to wear, the three of them wearing stupid hats, they all get butler outfits... the possibilities are Endless
Favorite relationship - her and ralsei hands down. ralsei taught her how to heal... she taught him how to dance... god they play so well off each other???? and the ways they fill in what each other is lacking and develop each other... they make such a good team!
Favorite headcanon - this is kind of canonical-- susie loves her hair :D kris compliments it, ralsei says he'll braid it and susie sputters for a minute before abruptly changing the subject... it's pretty important to who she is! she doesn't like putting ribbons in it, and i doubt she'd tolerate bows or headbands or other frilly stuff like that. it's HERS. don't touch

Here's some unfinished drawings I've made in June last year. I never really thought o could do much with them but i can post them here! This was a time when i started trying to actually sketch out my drawings before starting work on them.. it didn't quite work out,but oh well.
Tumblr media
1. This one I've made in a rush and it's obviously supposed to be as terrible as it is
Tumblr media
2. First (and failed) attempt at drawing Ralsei without his hat on. I feel sorry for giving up on this one
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. These two are the only two stickman style sketches I've ever made. They quickly went unused unfortunately.. couldn't get a drawing out of them..
Tumblr media
4. And then there's this one..uhh..

Hey so, you played DeltaRune right? What was your first impression on the main cast? i.e. raslei, lancer, Susie, Kris.
Oh fucketh yes thou kindeth basterd, let thine doith this.
Alright, so imma talk about the game and new characters, and if you would like, send asks on the undertale cast, and how they changed, because i would love to talk about that! I would also love to talk about theories for both Deltarune and Undertale! Do send asks! Now lets begin:
*ahem*
I was NOT expecting it to be this long for what I thought was a free demo
I loved ALL the characters this time. I didn't think I'd like Susie and Lancer much, but they grew to be my favourite characters of the story this time.
Also, I knew Deltarune was an anagram of Undertale, but I went through the entire goddamn game without realizing that Ralsei was an anagram for Asriel. Yes, I'm stupid.
I really like the new party battle mechanics! I didn't use the fight option, but still.
I wasn't able to find part B of the key that would unlock that mysterious cell in the prison. Did anyone else find it?
This was a very easy game to get a Pacifist run in, and I got the good ending straightaway! Seemingly.
SEEMINGLY.
WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?!?
Still here? Cool lets go
So, some interesting points and thoughts I had about the game and characters, and other things and tropes I noticed:
Ascended Meme: Toriel mentions that Kris and Asriel enjoy playing Super Smashing Fighters, a clear Shout-Out to the Super Smash Bros. franchise. At the time of the release of Deltarune Chapter 1, a popular meme was that Sans would be confirmed as a character for the then-upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Anti-Frustration Features: Should you make at least three unsuccessful attempts to clear either timed-tile puzzle, Ralsei will offer a hint on how to solve them
Attack! Attack! Attack!: Susie's main method of fighting: She'll keep attacking enemies and won't listen to Kris. Fortunately, she gets better during the final dungeon. Perhaps this is how she was raised?
Awesome, but Impractical: The Top Cake heals your entire party for 160 HP, but your entire party only has 90, 110 and 70 HP anyway and can't be increased at all. Furthermore, giving the Top Cake back to the Top Chef makes him give you the Spin Cake, which, while only restoring 80 HP, is unlimited and any encounter that isn't a Boss fight will probably not shave off your entire HP.
One thing that annoys me with the game is that Lv can’t increase, but we will get back to that later
Bait-and-Switch: A lot of the plot details are set up in a similar fashion to the previous game, only to subvert expectations.
Susie threatens Kris early on and is a berserker who attacks monsters on sight and doesn't care about the quest she's nominally on, much like a No Mercy run from the previous game, but she refrains from killing anyone and ultimately makes a Heel–Face Turn.
Lancer is similar in both a recurring antagonist role and has a skeletal appearance with a blue color scheme, which might lead players to believe he has a connection with Sans and Papyrus from the previous game; he and his father turn out to just be Darkners who resemble skeletons and have no apparent connection with Sans and Papyrus at all.
A mysterious doorframe appears early on and savvy players (or fandom nerds) might expect them to tie into Gaster as they did in the previous game. They end up being a fast travel system (which is lame).
Lastly, there's Lancer's dad, the King, who might look like a Suspiciously Similar Substitute for Asgore, right down to one of the people close to him trying to persuade both you and him not to fight (Undyne for Asgore, Lancer for the King). However, when you actually encounter the King, not only does he threaten to throw Lancer off a roof if the Lighteners don't kneel before him, he also tricks Ralsei into bringing him to full health so he has them at their mercy again. He ends up being defeated by Ralsei putting him to sleep while Kris and Susie escape, or captured by Lancer when he turns his own troops on him.
Big Door: There's a large bunker-style door built into the landscape in the forest to the south of town. Locked, unfortunately.
One of the encounters can be resolved peacefully by getting Ralsei to sing a lullaby, which also puts Susie to sleep. This later turns out to be the key to peacefully resolving the fight with Susie and Lancer. It comes up again in the "bad" ending to the King fight, where Susie notes that while she can't take the King down, Ralsei can. Susie: “I'd never forget something I made fun of you for.”
Similarly, Susie attacks automatically during the first battle with Lancer (who can't be killed), which is an early hint to the player that Susie attacks on her own and you'll have to prevent her from doing damage if you want a pacifist run.
Cliffhanger: The chapter ends with Kris (most likely being controlled) pulling out their/the player's SOUL, shoving it in a cage, and drawing a knife, at which point Kris's eyes glow red like Frisk's do if Chara's permanently corrupted your save after a genocide playthrough back in Undertale. This ending felt like a punch to the gut, and gave me so many questions to ask. Also, in the final scene, you can control the SOUL while it's in the birdcage. It won't change the outcome.
Lancer appears to be this for most of the initially-bad guy cast of Undertale, possessing a Sans-like color scheme, Papyrus's kid-brother nature and general enthusiasm for "evil," and Alphys's emotional attachment to the Big Bad.
Kris seems to be a hybridization of Frisk and Chara: their face, skin color and silent nature lean more towards the former, while their clothes and relation to the Dreemurr family (especially Asriel) scream of the later. Of course, after what happens in the ending, who knows how the three are connected? But here is something people have forgotten about, since I haven’t seen anything on it, but Kris looks exactly like the unused Frisk sprite, besides the sweater

Even if you go out of your way to beat encounters by force, enemies just get knocked off-screen. Contrast with Undertale and its infamous Genocide/No Mercy route.
After you beat the game and it closes itself, restarting shows Ralsei's legend as the intro and provides a new background for the file select screen.
Susie's hair is wild and covers her eyes, symbolizing her wild and violent outcast vibe. After the fight with the King, it's cut to reveal her eyes, and she becomes a lot more expressive and open with her emotions from them on.
All main characters are this, or have a Face Framed in Shadow. Them revealing their faces is usually a big deal.
Kris and Susie's outfits change when they fall into the dark world. Kris also becomes more blue in appearance, while Susie becomes more pink.
On the walk home, talking to numerous characters heavily hints that something is up with Kris. Numerous people refer to them as "creepy", or "quiet", and Noelle notes that they're usually quite distant from others. The game implies that Kris was being possessed by the player ala the first game
Ralsei makes direct reference to interface elements and controls as part of his tutorial-giver role. This leads to an amusing moment in the first block puzzle, as this trope doesn't apply to Susie.
Susie: (Who the hell is "[Z]"?)
Susie's solo fight against Lancer parallels the first game's fight against Toriel in a number of ways. In both cases, the foe is a family member of the king that guards the protagonist's way back home, and they're trying to prevent the protagonist from meeting the king in order to avoid bloodshed. Once the fight goes on for long enough, the foe starts attacking exclusively by dropping projectiles from above that are guaranteed to miss, showing their reluctance to fight someone they'd started growing close to.
This chapter has a lighter tone than all of Undertale. The game mechanics are more focused on solving puzzles and befriending enemies than fighting, and no one can die, even if you DO decide to attack all your enemies.
After returning from the World of Darkness, talking to several of the NPCs imply that Kris isn't acting like themselves. Noelle comments on how Kris is really talkative compared to normal, Noelle's dad implies Kris has forgotten things that they should know, the hospital clerk comments on how Kris isn't normally so bad at playing piano, and Kris in general seems a lot less "creepy" to the townspeople.
After arriving at the fountain, Kris and Susie find themselves back at the school, in a room with a chess board, playing cards, and some toys that look like the characters they encountered. But both of them remember what happened, and it's left ambiguous as to whether it really was just a dream or not.
If you have the Spooky Sword equipped, your "weapon" upon leaving the dark world will be the Halloween Pencil, leading to more questions.
If you follow the Jevil sidequest plot to its conclusion, mentions of The Queen are made, as well as Seam describing the event that drove Jevil insane as "Dark yet Darker" adding even heavier implications to Gaster's presence in the future story.
If one talks to Rouxls Kaard after starting his first puzzle, he will verbatim quote I. M. Meen. (Also Rouxls Kaard, thou art must marrith me)
When Burgerpants talks about his fellow pizzeria employees, he mentions a "Purple Guy" and wonders if he even works there.
Ralsei removing his hat and hood at the end, revealing that he looks exactly like Asriel. Judging by Susie's reaction, this is one both in and out of universe.
Right at the end of Chapter 1. Kris is tossing and turning in the middle of the night, when they jump out of bed and start walking around very slowly. They then stop in the middle of the room and pull their own soul out of their body, before throwing it into the birdcage from earlier. They then turn their head around slowly, revealing Chara's trademark smile and glowing red eye, before materializing a knife out of nowhere. Anyone who's played Undertale (so most of people playing this game, as it was recommended to those who already played Undertale) should have some very horrific guesses about what this mean
The King grabs Lancer's throat when he finds out that they let the heroes get away

Lancer Finds Two Weird-Dads (2022)
--------------------------
Credit for Deltarune & Undertale goes to Toby Fox
------------------------
the lizard that Gaster is calling “baby girl”, is a cut character from Undertale.
he just seem like he would be Alphys’s Dad, so Fan Headcanon is that that cut NPC Lizard character is Alphys’s Dad....
who I’m just gonna call “Alphonse” and he has to put up with Gaster’s flirting and half the time has to slap him with either a hand or a magic bolt to get him to focus on work in the True Lab.
if Alphonse was all that was left after Gaster and most of the other people who worked at the true lab (that would be called Gaster’s Followers)
he would have his daughter become the next royal scientist.
if it is hard to see what both Alphonse and Gaster are saying, try to click on the drawing. I hope it will be possible to click on it.
the two Ralsei are suppose to be the True-Ralsei that appears in Chapter 1 and the Other-Ralsei that appears in Chapter 2.
the Real Ralsei is around Kris’s height and has shorter horns.
the one that appears in Chapter 2, is a inch taller than Kris and has longer horns, and might be part of the theory about Ralsei being secretly evil.
and the True-Ralsei is really a Flowey and is trapped in the Card Kingdom with the Original Lancer that Susie befriended, who now wears a crown and cape.
while Lancer’s Brothers (who are all called Lancer, because their dad is too lazy to give them different names.), King, Rouxls Kaard and the other subjects.
this would mean that Lancer and Ralsei/Flowey are the only ones left in The Card Kingdom, and Jevil if we aren’t able to beat him and we only unlock the door and leave to go face the King.
the hat that belongs to Flowey that keeps him in his True-Ralsei form, was stolen by the Other Ralsei, and after he did this, he locked the large door with the Delta Rune Symbols that keeps Castle Town and Card Kingdom separated.
and after doing that, the Other Ralsei went into the Light World and went to the unused classroom and locked the door there, so there be no way Susie and Kris can get back to The Card Kingdom.
without his hat, the True-Ralsei that Kris and Susie befriended in Chapter 1.
becomes a Flower, and not just any flower, but Flowey The Flower.
who is from the Undertale Timeline where there is only two frogs visible in the room that has that sign that talks about the Spider Bake Sale.
cause for some odd reason the third frog that doesn’t like their words being skip through, is missing. they might come back after the next reset.
the reason why Ralsei (who might be the fake) doesn’t wear the hat, is because he really doesn’t need to, but the hat‘s magic is what lets Flowey keep his Ralsei form, the dust and determination that is a part of him and the magic in the dark world, let him take on a new form and give himself a new name while in that form.
but then another version of himself, who had been following him, Kris and Susie this whole time.
ends up taking his place, stealing his hat that keeps him in his Ralsei form and then the Faker ends up locking the Delta Rune Door and it’s Light World counterpart.
keeping Flowey and Lancer trapped alone in that part of the dark world, and possibly with Jevil if we weren’t able to get him, and only unlock the door that he is in.
and the Lancers that are at Castle Town, are Lancer’s brothers.
if Susie had her way, she would rename all of Lancers brothers and only let Lancer keep his name.
so the Lancer in this drawing, is suppose to be the True-Lancer that Susie had first befriended and is the brother of the other Lancers who all share the same name because their Dad, was too lazy to give them different names.
that is both a theory and fan headcanon.
I drew this around July 24, 2022....so just posting it on August 2,2022.
I have one more drawing to post for tonight.
then I have to sign off, but I will be back later to check out some art on here.
and maybe I can talk about the theory that has to do with King naming all his sons Lancer, and how they are all quadruplets and they all sound and look alike, and no one can really tell them apart, not until one of them starts to dress like a King.
well not all twins can be told apart, and only some will end up looking a little or a whole lot different from their twin, and not just because of them being born as a girl and boy, sometimes even if twins are the same bio-gender they will end up looking different from each other.
so yeah, theory is that Lancer is a twin or a quadruplet and the Lancer in this drawing is the Original that Susie befriended, but he is trapped in his kingdom with just himself, Flowey and possibly Jevil.
Gaster would still be a Weird Dad, if he was and Lancer met him, he would adopt Gaster as his new Dad and call him “Weird Dad”.....which would be kind of adorable if that happen. XD

PAPER TRAIL FAN ART: Coralie The Tomboy Princess
--------------
Credit for Paper Trail goes to Lynxgriffin
Credit for Undertale & Deltarune goes to Toby Fox
-------------------------
first I want to say that even though I really did want to go on a type of hiatus where I wait until a few months to post some stuff on here, and until then I can just check out other stuff by other people on here and heart their work, and even send asks to their tumblrs.
but while reading Paper Trail AU Comic,
and well I’m still in the middle of reading it
and I plan to read and fave all of the pages in one day.
but I guess I will still make sure to take a break when needed, you know like get some food and do some other stuff too.
I did do another fan art of a dark world Asriel, that has red clothes on.
I think I will post that version another time, maybe...
unlike Ralsei,
Coralie doesn’t have a heart pattern on the front of her robe
but instead has the Delta Rune symbol on it instead.
The Meaning of the Name Coralie,  Is Maiden.
I also decided to have the tags for this to have Coralie be a Deltarune OC,instead of a Paper Trail OC....well technically she is, but she is just a Fanon OC and I’m not sure if there will be a Red version of Ralsei or not. but who knows if there will be a Red Ralsei or not.
the “Dead Name” of Coralie, would have to be a  Anagram of Asriel,
but Coralie had long threw away her Anagram-Asriel name.
I also want to mention that  the name Asriel,
can be both a boy and girl name,
most names are gender neutral.
turns out Asriel is both a Boy & Girl Name.
as for how Coralie looks without her hat,
I would say a Younger Version of Toriel but with longer hair.
I do suspect that Undertale Toriel might not be as innocent of a goat mom as we are made to believe.
and I believe that she does know about the Resets
as well as the theory that she and Sans have been working together,
that she has been killing the humans that came to the underground
and sending their souls to her ex-husband...
and all the lost items of the humans that came before Frisk,
were given to Sans from Undertale-Toriel, to hide around the underground outside the ruins, the only two that were missing
were the red ribbon and knife,
which the only reason why Undertale-Toriel might not of picked up the knife is because it was made of plastic.
I think that the Monsters in Undertale, might be allergic to plastic.
so it makes sense why she left that alone, but could of made a plan to try to get it later by getting gloves.
but she couldn’t find the red ribbon.
not a lot of fans have to agree about this theory about Undertale-Toriel.
but I believe King Asgore is innocent from the deaths of the human children that fell in the underground.
I don’t believe any of the human children made it past Toriel,
and were all killed by her when they tried to leave to go out of the ruins.
this would keep happening, even to the point where Sans came into the picture and she trusted him to take the human souls to her Ex.
Sans most likely left that out of his story to Frisk, on how he met Toriel.
leaving out parts about Toriel giving him containers that contain the human souls.
even if Deltarune-Toriel can be a bad mom at times,
like not noticing that Kris is unhappy or how their side of the room looks that might give some clues that something is wrong.
or that her own son might of cheated at the video games they played together with Kris, most likely giving them the knockoff game controller.  if you check under Asriel’s bed you will find out that it will say that there is a knockoff game controller with the normal controller.
Deltarune-Asriel could of at first been a jerk to Kris,
but over time started to act like a caring older brother to them.
I can’t help but view Toriel from Undertale AU,
as suspicious, after realizing that she has known about the Resets the whole time, and that is why when the Player/Frisk gets ready to leave in a Pacifist Timeline, she asks us not to come back.
and that if we choose not to go live with her, as her adoptive child.
she will make another hint that she knows whats going on.
Toriel in a Pacifist Timeline, knows whats going on
and the reason why she doesn’t show up unless it’s a True Pacifist Run
where we befriend everyone, is the only time she does stop the fight between Frisk and Asgore.
she doesn’t do so in the Genocide or Neutral Timelines,
only in the True Pacifist Timelines.
almost like she knew...not everyone has to agree with this,
but if the Canon Toriel is secretly behind the deaths of the humans that came before Frisk showed up, then it would make sense that she hides this out of guilt.
she grew guilty and even went as far as to place the full blame on her husband.
it is possible that Canon-Toriel from Undertale is really a Clone of the Original Toriel, who left Asgore after he declared war on humanity.
but how could Toriel have seen Asgore commit into the act of killing the humans, if she had never returned until stopping Asgore and Frisk’s fight in the pacifist timeline...?
the answer is that Asgore never took the life of any of the humans,
even if Toriel did mention that if Frisk/Player left the ruins,
Asgore would kill them, but Asgore never killed any of the humans.
at least that is my theory, I believe the true culprit was always the caretaker of the ruins aka Toriel, also known by Papyrus as Asgore’s Clone.
in the Fanon AU of Undertale, Toriel could be innocent of such crimes.
but in Fan Headcanon, I believe Toriel of Undertale is the true culprit of the humans who lost their lives.
so if this theory is true, the best version of Undertale-Toriel
would be the ones in the Fanon Undertale AU.
it’s really fine that not many agree about the theory.
anyway I want this to be the last drawing I post until in a few months.
I do plan to post this at the other place I post fan art at too.
if Coralie had a home,
it could be in the Dark World in Asriel’s Dorm at College.
so if Asriel does come home to see his family,
he might end up bringing the Dark World that Coralie lives in with him, as well as Coralie.
of course Coralie is a Fan OC,
this is still suppose to be a Paper Trail AU Fan Art.
if Coralie was truly all alone in the Dark World she was born in,
with no other Darkeners but her around,
then it might of been a very lonely life for her.
I think Coralie would be a inch shorter than Ralsei.
I’m not 100% sure if there will be a Red Version of Ralsei,
but if there was one and it was going to be another boy,
who might be called “Strawberry” I think it would be interesting.
I don’t think I ever seen a Red one, but if there was one,
maybe they work with Knight...?
but not of their free will.
I also want to say that I don’t mean to seem to break my promise about not post anything until in a few months, but I wanted to draw this fan art
even if it is of a noncanon character that I named Coralie.
I just wanted to draw a Red version of Ralsei.
anyway once again Coralie is not canon, so please do not misinterpret.
I think I will sign off for a bit,
and then go back to reading Paper Trail once I sign back in.
I’m just gonna go watch the Resident Evil Village Walkthrough,
and also eat some food too.
so I’m just gonna hope that this time for sure will be the last post until a few months....and I will just check out other stuff on tumblr.
if I’m not back in a few hours, I will back tomorrow.
so see ya later and stay safe everyone.
