Do you think Fushimi's personality/way of dealing with these would have changed at all (re: been better) if Niki had died earlier in his life? Like when Saru was in elementary school or even before then. Would his coping methods would have been healthier and would he have been able to express himself more freely?
I don't think Fushimi would have ultimately been much better off even if Niki had died before the anthill incident because even though it would lessen the actual emotional abuse happening there would still be Kisa's neglect stunting Fushimi's emotional growth. I could see his mental issues developing somewhat differently, like rather than taking on that whole 'Niki' persona he might model himself after Kisa instead and ignore Yata post-betrayal because that's what he's familiar with, but I think there would still be a betrayal and he'd still have all the low self esteem and abandonment issues. Niki obviously made Fushimi's issues worse with his constant mockery and destruction of the things Fushimi loved but even without him Fushimi still lacks an actual good adult role model to help him develop emotionally. The biggest issue with Fushimi's childhood in general is that he was never able to develop any type of emotional maturity due to both the abuse and neglect, and getting rid of just one of those factors wouldn't do much to help him become healthier. And in some ways he'd probably be reaching the same conclusion but by a different path, like rather than assuming that his relationship with Yata will be destroyed because that's what happens to everything that's precious to him Fushimi assumes their relationship will crumble because after all no one wants to stay close to Fushimi and everyone abandons him eventually so why should he have expected Yata to be any different. I think for Fushimi to have grown up into a healthier person who's better able to express himself he'd probably have to be removed from that house entirely at a young age and to actually be loved and cared for right from the start. If Niki's not there but Kisa's still not an active loving parent it wouldn't help Fushimi much beyond giving him a slightly different but ultimately still unhealthy set of behaviors and mental issues.

More KurohSaru I see so little of it! Say Kuroh and Saru met when they were younger much like Yata and Saru, but Kuroh was the first person to take care of Saru before he has to move away and they dont see each other until surprise! Season 1 events. So he and Kuroh run into each other shortly after his first fight with Yata in ep1, how do they reconnect and how does it affect the storyline? Do you think Saru would help him if he asked (maybe not at first, but at least eventually)?
Ooh good rarepair, I like. Maybe when Fushimi's really little he's sent away from the big house for a while to go live in the countryside, like Kisa's got work to do and Niki can't be trusted with a small child but if he starves to death or whatever it will look bad for Kisa's company. There's some old nanny of the Fushimi family who lives in the countryside though so Fushimi is sent there, where he can be watched over until he's a little older. The nanny's a busy lady and doesn't really deal with Fushimi much, like maybe she's also taking care of some other kids who are like Fushimi's second or third cousins and such but they're younger than him, just babies and so need more attention. The nanny basically makes sure Fushimi's fed and hasn't like fallen in a ditch or anything and that's the most attention she gives him.
One day Fushimi's walking around behind the house when he wanders a little too far and that's when he runs into tiny Kuroh, out playing with Ichigen-sama (just shift the timelines around a bit so this fits). Ichigen gives Kuroh permission to play with Fushimi but of course Fushimi isn't interested, he never spends time with any of the other kids in the town and prefers to just stay inside in his room most of the time where he doesn't have to deal with people. Kuroh notices that Fushimi's face is a little red though, allergies from walking around in the woods, and he seems pretty thin and Kuroh wants him to come back with them to Ichigen's place so he can eat properly. Fushimi finds himself just dragged along and bewildered as Kuroh treats him in this totally friendly and caring manner, actually worrying about his well being and not seeming to have any ulterior motive at all.
The two of them eventually become friends and Kuroh's such a nice kid that Fushimi starts to actually heal a little from everything Niki's put him through. Unfortunately the idea of their kid being happy must have like unconsciously pinged Kisa and Niki's shitty parent signal and they decide to summon Fushimi back to Shizume, meaning he and Kuroh have to be separated. Kuroh insists that he will write and one day even come visit and while Fushimi nods he can't quite believe in it, like to him this is just another precious thing that breaks.
Fushimi goes back 'home' and is miserable again until he meets Yata, maybe in this AU he's a little more wary of befriending Yata after losing Kuroh but Yata still manages to get through to him (also he eats a little healthier and will even eat vegetables because Kuroh always insisted that he eat them and it taught Fushimi that okay maybe vegetables aren't all bad). He never hears from Kuroh again though and has almost forgotten him until years later, after Totsuka Tatara's death when Awashima and Munakata are reviewing a surveillance tape at Scepter 4 headquarters and Munakata notes that Homra's Yatagarasu was just defeated by 'the black dog.' Fushimi is surprised to see that it's Kuroh, kinda raising an eyebrow but making no comment. He probably assumes Kuroh's forgotten him but then imagine later when Scepter 4 tries to capture Shiro at the stadium, as the Silvers are fleeing Kuroh catches sight of Fushimi standing outside one of the vans staring up at Neko's illusion and his eyes go wide as he recognizes his important childhood friend. (And then later when the Silvers need to steal a helicopter instead of knocking people out Kuroh insists in being allowed to go alone to talk to 'that person,' to see if he can convince Fushimi to help them out because after all, the two of them are friends.)

AU where everything ended up OK and Mikoto and Munakata were able to be happy together, Sarumi are friends, Nagare died and didn't become a zombie in the Kagutsu crater and Iwafune never let go of his original ideals etc
Hmm…maybe AU thenwhere the Kagutsu Crater never happened? Oh, maybe Kagutsu somehowwas able to abdicate his throne before his Sword fell, Habari retiredand went to live in the country with Zenjou and Mikoto and Munakatabecame the new Kings. Because there was no Crater Hisui never died inthe first place but maybe his parents get killed in a car crash orsomething and he gets adopted by Iwafune anyway so they can have acute father-son relationship without any of the burrito child orchanging the world messiness in there. Hisui lives with the rest ofCathedral and Iwafune raises him as his own child while all his clandotes on the kid. Hisui could still awaken as Green King but he hasno desire to take control of the Slate or anything and instead hejust has Iwafune help like guide him into becoming a better King foreveryone’s sake.
Elsewhere, Munakataand Mikoto are still Kings but Mikoto’s Sword remains stable andTotsuka never gets shot or anything. Munakata and Mikoto still tendto fight a lot but it’s friendly fighting, like everyone can tellthey’re both enjoying themselves and Mikoto has been known to likerandomly stop by Scepter 4 and fall asleep in Munakata’s office forno reason other than to bug him (Munakata buys a 3-D castle puzzleand begins constructing it around Mikoto’s sleeping body). Fushimistill leaves Homra but in this AU he gets rescued from Niki by childservices and gets to live with Yata’s family instead, so he actuallyhas coping mechanisms and properly tells Yata the truth about whyhe’s going to Scepter 4. Yata feels upset that Fushimi’s leaving forthe ‘enemy’ clan but decides that clan loyalty is less important thanFushimi is and the two of them stay friends, always meeting eachother after Fushimi gets off work and they still live together in theapartment. Meanwhile Anna’s parents never die and maybe they stop byBar Homra one day when she’s with them, she meets Mikoto and theyhave kind of a connection going on. She’s still in a bit of dangerdue to her powers so maybe they give her into Homra’s care but theyalways come visit her and she gets to go out with them on weekendsand stuff and so she has two families that love her. (Also Shiro oneday just accidentally falls out of his airship and lands in thegarden of the house where Neko lives with her original family. Shebefriends him and he starts landing the airship more often, one daythey meet Kuroh and the three of them become close companions.)
