thinking about how hard it must've been for 13 to let yaz go. bc of how destructive she is for yaz despite all the attempts to make it better.

she tried to show yaz the universe but failed to open up. let her find her true self (and who she loves) but failed to show this love (and accept it) herself. taught her to fly the tardis and shouted at her. gave her a reason and all the tools to become the person yaz always wanted to be yet still failed to give her the most valuable thing (and what yaz has always wanted): more time.

after all of this i'm glad she's realized that maybe yaz's the one who deserved better. perhaps she deserves much more than become twelve (and so much more than what 12 did to clara: selfishly kept her close to himself).

I have no idea if this was asked before or not but do you think that Misa's "I would never betray a friend" speech is based on who she was pre-kira? (Meaning Misa who has a death note and active obsession with Kira would betray her friends, where if she did not have a death note and the memories associated with it, she wouldn't betray)

Personally, I don't think that there honestly is a big difference between her pre-Kira and her post-Kira personality.

The thing about Misa is that her trauma occurred before she got the Death Note - the big character-defining moment isn't her first kill, it's the death of her parents. That's what her emotios revolve around, that's the disturbance that put her into her current headspace.

Light changes so drastically because the event that changed him is 'killing somebody' - for Misa, I feel like the actual first killing was a lot less impactful because her sense of normalcy was already stripped from her through the violent crime she witnessed and she's been scrambling to hold herself together ever since.

Which is why even though Misa doesn't regain her memories when she talks to Rem, she seamlessly switches back into Kira II mode. There just isn't any disconnect between her memoryless self and her regular self, Misa's the exact same at baseline.

Which is to say: Misa would always say cheesy shit like 'I would never betray my friends' and she would still always opt to betray her friends when it seems necessary for things to go her way.

Misa's greatest loyalty is always to herself and the path of her own happiness, in the end.
