(smooches him - open)
Salvatore visibly perks up when he sees Maggie approaching, a slow smile spreading across his face as he goes to greet her, his hands in his pockets. She seems happy to see him, too, in her own way, and the sight practically has him bouncing on the spot.
"Mornin', boss!" he calls cheerfully. "You're lookin' pretty chipper today--there a special occasion I don't know about?"
Almost without thinking, he leans down to press his lips lightly to her cheek once he's close enough to do so, doing his best to ignore the way his cold, dead heart twists in his chest at the simple gesture. It's just a friendly greeting, a way to tell his friend he's happy to see her. And if he lingers for perhaps a second too long before pulling away, well, that's his business.
A second later, he realizes what he did, and he quickly straightens, clearing his throat as he averts his eyes. He doesn't need to see the disgust that he's sure to find there, so he avoids looking at her face as much as possible.
"My bad," Salvatore says. "Guess I got a bit ahead of myself there." His shoulders tense. He quickly moves on. "A-Anyway, I was just swingin' by to see how things are goin' today, but it seems like you're doin' alright." It's true--at least at first glance, Maggie seems to be in a good mood right now. Relaxed, even. It's nice to see.

So, Danny was effectively homeless.
His parents are dead, his sister is dead, his friends are dead. Hell, even Vlad, Vlad kicked the fucking bucket which, Danny genuinely never expected.
Vlad was supposed to be his nemesis, his main bad guy, the guy Danny's supposed to constantly pull everything out against just to win. Not to mention how significant his presence was.
A part of him assumed that Vlad would always be there and him not being there and knowing he won't be there ever again is... weird.
So you're probably asking, how exactly did this happen?
Well you see, the nasty burger exploded, for one thing. Then when he was under Vlad's care both of them got outed for being ghosts to the GIW, which was technically Danny's fault, since he did something extremely stupid.
Somehow they got caught, and life under the GIW was not great in the slightest. The constant experiments, the dehumanization (Sometimes Danny doesn't even register himself as human), the amount of times their feelings were utterly disregarded, and so, so much more.
The GIW found Vlad to be more dangerous than Danny, even if he lacked the raw power Danny had his intellect made him dangerous and for good reason. For it was because of said intellect that Danny managed to escape.
Vlad didn't manage to do the same.
Danny hated reliving that memory. Because Vlad was a villain, evil and self-serving, he shouldn't be sacrificing himself for his literal greatest enemy to escape in his stead (Not that Vlad would say Danny was his greatest, he would probably say it was the person who refused him to buy the packers). It was just, so utterly stupid and out of character for him.
So, Danny managed to escape, Vlad died. He couldn't even say anything about Dani because she got destabilized in front of him, in front of both of them actually. It hurt to watch and, he didn't quite know the specifics between Dani and Vlad anymore, but he thinks they were getting... better.
Not how it was when Dani was first created, but Vlad was working on mending it. Which, honestly, just makes everything worse.
Danny isn't powerless but it's a damn close thing. He's far weaker than he normally would be, and he's injured on top of that too boot, his powers can barely work and it's just so stupid.
So here he was, hiding out in some random sewer because he didn't want to take the risk of being on the surface and he hates the smell, but he'll take that over being experimented on again. So, Danny spends most of his time in the sewers of this place called Gotham, he even managed to make his own little area with a couch he stole and a few other appliances that were thrown out.
He lacked a Tv or laptop, but he found a yo-yo! Most of his time was spent practicing various tricks with his yo-yo.
It got boring fast. But it was really the only safe thing he could do when waiting for his powers to come back. At least he's a god at yo-yoing now.
It was while doing various tricks with it in some random sewer path, that a literal, goddamn crocodile-man just splashed up from sewer water and half-laid on the edge, since his lower body was still in the water.
Danny looked at his yo-yo, the crocodile, and then slowly stepped on over and gently poked the crocodile dude.
He made a sound, so he was alive!
Finally! Someone to appreciate his godly yo-yoing skills!

DC X DP fic idea: Congratulations! It's Triplets!
Jason Todd can't remember half the crazy shit he did when he returned from the dead. There were a few years when his memory gaps were so significant lost he honestly forgot what year it was.
So he's not surprised he did some dumb shit where he was less weapon and more power-hungry teen.
He doesn't remember Jazz Fenton that well, but he does remember waking up next to her, making her breakfast as a thank-you for the fun night, and slipping away before she could ask too many questions. Logically he knows that leaving before she woke up was a bit of a asshole move but he hadn't cared back then.
He had thought he would never see her again.
Imagine his surprise when she enters a youth space program WE is running five years later. By this point, he had calmed most of his pit rage and had reconnected with his family. Bruce had even legally made him alive again so he's there as Brucie's second oldest.
Tim had practically shoved him as one of the heads of the program since Jason had rapidly developed the image of being the most Charity drive Wayne.
The point was to help city kids go on clear sky trips and co-work with NASA to help children who love the stars get closer to them.
Jason knew that Jazz, a woman of twenty-three, would have no reason to be present since the program was for kids ages four to twelve.
But the three dark hair blue, eye triplets that were dragging her around the booths indeed did.
By the looks of the triplets, they were five to six-year Olds.
Jason also noticed another thing about them. They were exact copies of himself and five years ago was the last time he saw Jazz before slipping away.
It wasn't possible right?
Trying not to bring attention to himself, he followed them through the event, noting every little gesture the children made. With each passing second he saw more and more of himself in them. Once the lights were dimmed for the crew to project an exploding star on the walls and ceiling, he could creep close enough and steals three hair samples.
Later he would test the DNA against his own and find himself staring at the results with slight horror.
He's a father to triplets and left their mother alone to raise them on her own. Jason needed to fix this as soon as he could.
(Danny, Dani and Dan get de-age after a misguided attempt to take the throne from Danny by a ghost whose extraordinary power was to revert people into a weaker stage and attack them. Luckily even as small children, they were able to defeat her. Unfortunately, they would have to regrow the human way to return to their ages.
Clockwork offers them a different dimension for them to age in, explaining it run crazy slow compared to thier own. One year in the other world would be a week back home.
They talk to Jazz who agrees to take emergency leave from work after faking a terrible accident with her brother, and she hopes over to Earth-slightly-to-the-left to find a house suitable for re-raising her siblings. There she realizes this is her chance to enjoy her youth too.
She has her first one-night stand.
She doesn't tell them when they hope over, and all of them go about life as simply as they can in a city as dangerous as Gotham.
They find out later that there is even a slight version of their family here though it's primarily due to someone on their dads' side of the family messing up the family tree by marrying someone different than their great-grandfather
Instead of Fentons, the versions of their family name is, Evans. Crazy.
Even more Crazy is that they return home after a week-long camping trip through a NASA-based program to find Bruce Wayne at their doorstep, a team of lawyers behind him, and Jason Todd holding flowers next to him.
He thinks he's the father of the three because that's what the DNA pulls since it's a version of them and when Jazz is so worried about collapsing the timeline and getting on Clockworks bad side she plays along.
She later finds out from a very calm Danny that Jason is not related to them. It's just that their comeback from the dead rearranged all three of their DNAs, so Jason was merely matching there. Jazz testing herself against Jason proves this to be true.
Dan and Dani? They just wanted a rich dad who showered them with gifts in an attempt to make up for missing six years of their lives.
Danny just wants Jazz to admit she's in love with Jason.
Abd Jazz? Well, she just wants to be a good guardian for them and hopes she can pretend to be Jason's baby mamma until they can hope back home.)

Mythical au
Alfred had been the guardian angel of the Wayne family for many centuries. He'd been worried that he'd be forced to watch over a different family after Bruce died, but luckily he'd decided to take in Dick then Jason then a whole slew of children after and he didn't worry about being taken from his family for decades at a time. There would be challenges, he knew, but nothing he wouldn't do for his family.
When Bruce brought home two half dead children, Alfred knew that they were going to be a permanent fixture in the family's lives even if Bruce insisted that he was only fostering them until their aunt could safely take them in.
↓ more ideas ↓
Alfred Guardian angel - has a human form, minor healing powers, minor precognition concerning their charges He's the guardian of the Wayne family and upon his "death" he'll go visit his previous charges. After a few years in heaven, he'll choose a new form and come back to Earth. Knows what species his wards are almost immediately, but tries not to say anything as it's typically considered rude to talk about someone else's species without them saying something first. He isn't aware that some of his charges have no clue they're anything other than human.
Bruce Human No one but Alfred, his teammates, and his children believe Batman is human. No one thinks Brucie could be anything but human. His kids have a running joke that he's not actually human.
Dick Selkie - seal that can turn into a human, in human form they have a coat, if a human steals said coat they can force the selkie to do whatever they want, can be vengeful and dangerous, are normally friendly helpful and attractive. He takes many precautions to hide his coat from everyone. He sometimes sneaks to the pool in the mansion to swim. Bruce didn't know for a few months. Jason didn't find out until before Ethiopia. Tim figured it out after one month. Damian didn't know until Dick decided that Damian wouldn't use his coat against him.
Jason Wraith - steals/hoards souls, holds grudges, targets those who've wronged them until they've captured their soul and can force them to wander outside of the spirit world for eternity. He became a wraith after being resurrected and is very vaguely aware of being one. He's definitely collecting and hoarding souls, but has no idea what to do with the souls he collects. His ultimate goal is to collect Joker's soul and force him to wander aimlessly for eternity. He absent mindedly tries to take any ghosts for his hoard whenever he zones out around them. The magic community and ghost community are aware of this very-much-alive wraith and have mixed feelings about it, but the overall consensus is that it's a bit funny. His family - except Alfred, Danny, and Dani - don't know.
Tim Sphinx - smart, guardian, can prophesy, ferocious, generous, merciful He doesn't know he's a sphinx. He gets glimpses of the future but doesn't normally say anything to warrant anyone becoming suspicious of him having prophetic dreams. If he was aware he was a sphinx, he'd be able to tap into his true form and become stronger, faster, and better at controlling his prophetic ability.
Damian Imp - crafty and mischievous demons with minor magical abilities and a craving for the spotlight, typically garners attention from those who want to enslave them, born pranksters, impulsive, good at shapeshifting and conjuring fire He's very unaware that he's an imp. Talia is also unaware. Ra's is aware and hiding the fact that they're imps.
Danny Halfa He's very confused about Jason being a fully alive ghost (almost, kinda). He does think it's funny when (in ghost form) Jason tries to add him to his hoard of souls when he's sleepy or absent minded.
Dani Will-o-wisp halfa - mischievous, sometimes they're reported to have led people away from their deaths and sometimes they are reported to be the cause of people's death mostly due to causing confusion in said people. Dani's aware of being a will-o-wisp, seeing as she shines brighter than Danny and has a propensity for wandering and mischief. Also, she was told about being a wisp by a wisp while traveling. She also thinks it's funny when Jason tries to add her and Danny to his soul hoard when he's sleepy or absent minded (when they're in ghost form of course, he doesn't react when they're in human form).

So, I wrote the thing. I don't know if you'll like, but I sure hope you do. The only warning I think I should give is about the pairing, because it's heavily implied (a little more than that, actually) that it's Val x Wes x Sam x Tucker x Danny, (I have no idea what's the name of this ship, I just love it because it sounds chaotic as heck) and Dani is their daughter. Maddie and Val are also implied to be a little unhinged.
So... I gave Wes and Val their alternative versions, and changed Dani's:
Danny Fenton --- Bruce Wayne
Samantha Manson --- Selina Kyle
Tucker Tuck --- Ethan Bennett
Valerie Gray --- Talia al Ghul
Wes Weston --- Harvey Dent
Dani Fenton --- Damian Wayne
(a secret, third thing: Clockwork is Alfred)
I hope you like it!
____________
The day Valerie decides to hunt down Danny until she could punch him in the face even if it’s the last thing she does has, surprisingly, nothing to do with his double life as Phantom, or the fact that he passed a third of her skate into the wall and she had to ask The Ghost Box to take it out so she could teach Dani how to skate.
If she’s feeling nice, she might even say it isn’t because he left the family group chat on read after saying that sometimes it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission and hasn’t been seen again in one week, but.
She’s not feeling nice.
At the start of their summer holiday, two days unsupervised were enough for Danny to find a word in the stone age and get a lot of new pets when the meteor fell, filling their castle with the biggest and scariest Woolly Rhinoceros imaginable… Who he called Sweetheart.
At the end of their summer holiday, three days were enough for Danny to turn into a squirrel and start a war against the pixies, and Wes had to step in to create a democracy when the squirrel won over the fairies and Danny was almost crowned King 一 again, this time looking like he really wanted the title. Thankfully, it wasn’t in another dimension and sometimes he can come back to see how they’re doing, or Clockwork knows what he would do to protect them from other creatures.
Now, at the beginning of their winter holiday, Valerie fears what he has done in the week no one could stop his intrusive thoughts or find him, because the little shit learnt from his mistakes and took the boo-merang with him.
And that’s why she’ll hunt him down in a way Skulker wishes he could accomplish, with their three years old daughter tracking him down like a sugar-high boo-merang would.
Valerie isn't doing it because if he’s not in their dimension in three days, she is the one going with Sam to one of her parent’s boring galas as her partner to listen to their speech about how supportive they are to accept that their daughter has more than one partner, one even being a girl.
It’s also not because she and the others are worried about him, and also Tucker, who hasn't slept in days trying to help Dani find her familial ties with Danny.
So when Valerie packs her weapons and puts on her suit, she pretends she doesn’t notice that some of the guns Maddie created for her are heavier than others and wouldn't work on Ghosts, so that Sam doesn't get even more panicked.
She also pretends, when she follows Dani through the Infinity Realms, that she isn't scared for what could happen to Danny with his Fenton Luck 一 she’s the level-headed of the relationship, after all, and she has to keep her composure because the other three surely won’t.
… She's still punching him as a greeting, though.
::
Tasting the decaffeinated coffee Alfred poured for him, Tim knew that the day was going to be long.
When the front door was blasted out of its hinges by a young alternative version of Talia al Ghul screaming for her stupid boyfriend, though… That's when he knew he wouldn't know peace until his last day alive.
Seconds before the door was blasted:
Dani *turning off her invisibility after scouting the area and not seeing her Father*: Mother, they have a secret basement!
Valerie "I'm the level headed of the relationship" picking the rocket lancer that wouldn't hurt a ghost: Say less, sweetie. Also, call your Fenton grandparents, tell them Danny is involved with another billionaire :)
After Danny is back home from feeding his raccoon friends and getting dropkicked by Val:
Danny: This is my girlfriend, Talia.
Val: ???
Danny: And this is our daughter... Daniyah.
Dani: ... >:)
Damian "We never told Brucie my mother's name": I'M A GIRL??????
Dick "I have my priorities straight": I'M NOT THE OLDEST????
Alfred "I do have my priorities straight and a shotgun I'm not scared of using": I'm already a grandfather????
Clockwork "I could have stopped this any time I wanted but let the alt me have these sweet moments to remember the good ol' times": Yes, we are :)
Maddie and Jack showing up in Gotham with their Midwest smile and a lot, a lot of weapons that wouldn't hurt ghosts: ◉‿◉
Everyone withing 100m radio: Why... Why do I suddenly fear for my life... More than usual?
(I'm sending this without much proof reading because if I don't I'll ending up not sending anything, so sorry about any mistakes)
Tumblr media
I love how Val is the most level-headed but also the one who shoots a mistle at the door just because they couldn't spot Danny but saw a basement.
Like they didn't even confirm Danny was in that basement, they just went "Well it's time to say hello! *BOOM*"
Thank you for sharing this with me!

DP X DC PROMPT- (Fic that I'd totally probably might write)
Jason had learned from being a Robin to being Red Hood to expect a lot of things, from fighting the deranged to expecting the unexpected like daina (WONDER WOMAN!) being mind controlled.
But he never expected this.
He usually doesn't come here to begin, not after- after it happened, but he does each time whenever the pits wants to remind hims of what he could have lost. (What he lost, how it hurt hurt hurt. How HE hurt them. He knows that even if they forgive him, they'll never trust him again. The pit laughs from behind)
But tonight, in front of him sat someone?something? what appears to be a teenager from 14 to 16, with red hair that flickers similar to a flame and skin too pale and ears too pointy.
But it?she? sat on one of the headstone with her eyes glazed, too deep in her own thoughts.
A series of bubbles cut her off. She proceeded to put the baby (that seemed completely human) on her shoulder and allowed him to burb. Then cocooned him in blankets and hummed him to sleep.
Right now, he isn't red hood (or Robin). And his gun may not affect her, that is if the child belongs to someone else. (Did the parents give them to her? Or is she related? Have any alarms of a breakout occur that a meta? experiments? escape?).
(He sounds like Bruce.)
"A penny for your thoughts?"
The girl had her eyes on the child, with a small sad smile and flickers of flaming hair. "Just..."
"Just wondering what my grave would have looked like."
He sucked a breath.
"That ones yours...right?"
The girl (child ghost holy fuck!) nodded her head to his own grave. "Y-yeah...it's mine."
"It's beautiful... And well cleaned...They must've cared a lot, mister Jason."
He never thought about that. A well taken grave describes a caring family wouldn't it? (They do care! How is it still clean though?)
"Yeah...but uh...um...What's up with the..the baby?" Is the baby alive?
"Oh...Noone will take care of my baby boy... So.. I had to come back..."
She pushed back a few strands of black hair with tender eyes and the lightest touch. As if he where the most fragile crystle.
Jason could see himself in the child. All loved to the point his own mother would give up everything just for him. Except it was Bruce, it was Bruce that took him in and loved him. Standing beside his bed during nightmares when he cried and taking away the monsters. Sitting with Alfred, cooking together and exchanging stories.
(His family loved him. His family loves him.)
"Would you like to fly with me?"
Robin made me magic
He keeps wiping his face while she put the baby in a safer position. "We can have a brawl for fun after I put little Danny in his bed a-" she stopped mid scentence when looking at him
He sputtered. " Is something wrong?"
With fear in her eyes she floated, creating distance between both of them. She shaked her head in disbelief.
"You...you died..."
He took a step farther, not wanting to scare them away.
"But..b-but your... nononono why do you look like that?!"
He wanted to ask like what, but she disappeared before his eyes. (Did she know he wasn't safe? That he hurt his family?)
...
Beep
"Hey Jaylad, is the pit be-
"B-Bruce"
"Jason, what's wrong? Are yo- what happend?"
"I'm sorry, I'm s-so sorry, I'm sorry! Dad I'm sor-"
"I'm coming, hang in there."
"Little Wing what's wrong?"
"Todd, who hurt you? Who should I kill?"
"Jason, back ups close. Breath with me, alright!"
(His family loves him)
(The pits were silenced)
_______________________________________
In an alternative universe the Fenton are still driving around and setting up traps, unfortunately Jazz is the one who removes them and got caught.
Since jazz is the one that doesn't wear hazmats and dany is still a baby (she makes sure is far from their experiments with ectoplasm), she becomes a ghost who decides that she doesn't want Danny to get hurt and takes him somewhere near a lot of ectoplasm.
Gotham: sweet baby girl, little baby harley.
Let the drama begin.

QUOTH THE RAVEN - CHAPTER 2
Rolan/Tav | NSFW | 5,482 words
Chapter 1 | Read on AO3
As you pace back and forth in your room, your mind reels.
The group had been to Moonrise. They watched Ketheric Thorm take an axe to the throat like it was nothing more than a splinter, and then use it to split a goblin clean in half. The mental image terrifies you, but it's not the main thing occupying your thoughts.
The tiefling hostages are alive. Danis, Lakrissa; Lia and Cal.
You've not seen Rolan since he stormed off. You want to talk to him. You want to tell him that Cal and Lia are okay, want to promise him you'll save them even if it costs you your life.
You want to kiss him again.
It's ridiculous, in all honesty. You're pretty certain that he hates your guts, but it doesn't stop you pining for him. You realise somewhat reluctantly that you've been pining for him since you parted ways at the grove, and if anything that makes the knowledge of his eventual rejection sting more. Of course he doesn't feel the same way. How could he? He considers you the reason his siblings are lost to him.
You clench your jaw. You're going to get them back, one way or another. All three of them deserve the future that awaits them in Baldur's Gate.
As you finish donning your armour, you glance longingly at the bed in the centre of the room. Maybe at some point you'll finally get a full night's sleep.
Somehow, you doubt it.
You stare at the back of his head, sat at the bar once again, as you all get ready to leave. A rush of relief fills you to see him safe. A rush of joy fills you to see he's drinking water, not wine.
He doesn't look up, but that's fine.
The next time he sees you, his siblings will be safe. You'll make sure of it.
~~~
All of your friend's sordid descriptions of Moonrise pale in comparison to the real thing.
On the walk over, Astarion had likened it to "a foetid corpse that even I wouldn't sink my teeth into". While his analysis came the closest, even that didn't truly capture the depths of the building's nauseating atmosphere and stench. As you stand at the base of the structure, staring up at the impossible height of it, Karlach leans over to speak to you.
"We managed to convince them that we're true souls, but they want to meet you before they give us any more information."
You nod wordlessly. It's another show of your group's trust in you, that they mentioned you even when you weren't present. They've clearly sold you to the cultists as their leader. The thought makes your insides twist.
Gale cuts in, "Thorm wanted us to bring you straight to Z'rell - I believe she's his commander? I recommend you be on your guard. From the brief glimpse we got of her, she appears rather ruthless."
Karlach nods seriously, "complete mega-bitch."
Astarion lets out a giggle beside you, "goodness, darling, I couldn't have put it more eloquently myself."
You snort at that, and Karlach's face splits into a grin. The group looks at you expectantly.
You take a deep breath. "Right. If we're going to sell this you three are going to have to be quiet, if you need to tell me something do it through tadpole-mail." You punctuate your sentence with a brisk tap to your temple. The three of them nod, and Karlach mimes zipping her lips shut.
You continue. "I'll talk to Z'rell, find out what we need to know about the artefact that's keeping Ketheric immortal, and then we'll go round to the docks and enter into the prison from the back. We're here for information and the hostages, nothing else. Don't get greedy." You pause. "That was aimed at you, Astarion. Keep your pilfering hands to yourself."
He sighs dramatically, "oh, if I must."
~~~
Listening to Zrell speak is difficult when you're trying not to choke on the smell of decay and death. It seems to seep through the very brick of the tower, festering between the mortar and filling your pores. You're not sure how successfully you're keeping your disgust off your face, but if Z'rell notices your discomfort she doesn't comment on it.
"You came here to answer the Absolute's call." She says, and her voice is laced with mirth. "Let's see what you're made of."
All of a sudden she's communing with your tadpole, and you can feel her poking through your brain and the thoughts within it. Panic rises within you as you realise that she's trying to discern if you're truly faithful to the Absolute, and you know you have only a moment before she sees into the depths of your thoughts.
You latch onto the first thing you can think of.
As you shape the image of Rolan's face in your mind, you remind yourself of the anticipation in the moments before your lips met, and the rush of euphoria and excitement as you finally kissed him. You focus on the emotion in his eyes as he waited for your reaction, the blush on his cheeks, the shine on his lips. You can almost feel his hands tracing over your hips, slipping through your hair, and in your mind you're settling your weight back into his lap.
Then the thoughts drift further. Watching his magic display at the party, the sound of his laugh as you traipsed through the shadows, the way his brow furrows when he scowls. The sunshine yellow of his irises and the shiver that goes through you whenever his gaze falls onto you, the dusting of freckles along his cheeks, the smooth scarlet length of his neck and how beautiful it would look covered in hickeys.
When Z'rell retreats from your mind, she barks out a harsh series of laughs, and for a moment you're terrified. She's seen straight through you, she knows what you're here to do. Your hand slides to grip the handle of your blade where it rests on your back.
"A refugee from Elturel?" She can hardly get the words out around her laughter. "Gods, what a pathetic little creature. And a wizard, no less! Don't tell me you're actually in love with that sad excuse for a man." She leans forward and runs a hand down your arm, a coquettish grin on her face. "A pretty thing like you? I can think of far more worthy conquests."
You feel bile rise in your throat at her words, both her blatant advances and her mischaracterisation of Rolan, but you swallow it down. Instead, you let out a fake, flirty laugh, and shoot her a half-hearted wink.
This seems to satisfy her, and she launches into an explanation of the relic that Thorm needs - the one that you know grants his immortality - and directs you to the mausoleum.
When you're finally outside again, away from the stifling air of Z'rell's atmosphere, your companions say nothing. The weight of her words hangs over you.
'Love' she'd said. Is that what it is?
Do you love Rolan?
You're not completely sure you're ready to think about that.
~~~
The battle in the prison is more draining than you'd hoped. You're only still upright thanks to a well thrown healing potion from Astarion, which had landed at your feet and splashed up your calves.
The boat rocks on the water and the paddles propel you forward on their own accord, moved by Gale's magic rather than any physical effort. Karlach has the end of a bandage clamped between her teeth as she wraps a cut on her upper arm, and Astarion (despite his initial reluctance) is rationing out the remainders of your healing brews between the ex-hostages. A group of deep-gnomes had also been held captive below the tower, so the boat is cramped and your medical supplies aren't stretching as far as you'd hoped, but everyone is alive.
You can't quite believe it. You feel like you're not even in your body.
That may have something to do with the blood loss, in fairness. You'll worry about that later.
As the boat starts to pull into the dock, you hear a loud cheer from the coastline, and for a moment you don't even think about the horrors of Moonrise towers. You watch Cal and Lia scan the shore for Rolan, and lean over to them both.
"He's probably inside, waiting at the bar. That's where he was when we left."
Lia gives you a friendly smile, which morphs into something like amusement. "That sounds about right. He's not the type for heroic welcomes."
You nod and chuckle. There's a pause before she speaks again.
"Is he... He's okay, right?"
"He is." You pause. "I'm sure he'll be less than pleased that it was me that got you guys out, but he'll be thankful to see you. He's been worried."
Lia smirks, and there's a knowing edge to it that unsettles you somewhat. "Oh, I'm sure he'll be more than happy to give you his thanks."
Cal snorts, before covering his mouth and nose with a hand and turning away, trying in vain to make his guffaw sound like a cough. You narrow your eyes at the pair of them in suspicion and Lia laughs. You're beginning to understand Rolan's perpetual exasperation with them both. They've been out of mortal danger for all of 5 minutes and they're already teasing him, and he's not even seen them yet.
Actually, scratch that. You realise as Lia looks at you that they're not teasing him, they're teasing you.
You try to think of something smart to say, but come up blank. Instead, you blush, and mutter sheepishly. "Am I that obvious?"
Cal snickers, and Lia breaks into a wide grin. "It wouldn't be obvious if he was anyone else," she starts, "but you have to be daft or smitten to enjoy Rolan's company. You're definitely not daft."
Cal cuts in, "oh I don't know, she might be. She did just break us out of prison."
You laugh at that, "in my defence, that was a group effort."
Any reply they might have had is cut off by the boat shuddering as it connects with the shore.
Lia claps you on the shoulder, "for what it's worth, Tav, I think he's sweet on you." Before you can ask her to elaborate, she's clambering out of the skiff and tugging Cal out behind her.
That flutter of hope flickers back into your chest.
As you step from the boat, Bex grabs you in a tight embrace. She sobs into you and whispers repeated thanks and prayers. You don't catch most of them, you just hold her. When she breaks away your shoulder is damp, and she lunges at Danis as soon as he steps onto the shore. They fall to their knees in a heap as they clutch one another desperately.
You're showered in adulation from every direction; you lose count of how many hugs and handshakes you're given. There's a deep weariness settling through your bones that gives you only enough vigour to respond positively without considering your words. You're completely on autopilot.
You finally make it back through the doors of the inn, and you're more than ready to collapse in your bed. You feel like you could sleep for an age.
A loud, clipped admonishment shoots through the air, and you turn to face it.
It's Lia. She looks surprisingly pissed off for someone who was so pleased just ten minutes ago. You sigh inwardly and resign yourself to the fact that you should intervene.
"We're all safe, Rolan - that's what matters!" It’s Cal talking when you approach.
Rolan is opening his mouth to speak, and you're reasonably sure by the expression on his face that whatever he plans on saying isn't particularly polite. You cut him off before he has the chance.
"Rolan was in a bad state without you two."
His jaw snaps shut as his eyes dart to you, and he hesitates over his words.
"I was just... overwhelmed. It doesn't matter."
Lia's eyes soften, and she takes a deep breath. "I'm sorry. We should've been here."
"No -" Rolan is quick in his response this time. His tone is gentle. "- no, it's not your fault. I shouldn't have shouted. I'm sorry."
Cal turns to you, and there's a soft smile on his face.
"Thank you, Tav. For saving me, and the two idiots." He tilts his head in their direction as he says it.
Lia nods, then turns to Rolan, a teasing grin on her face. "Anything to add, Rolan?"
He scowls at her, but as he turns to look as you his expression smooths out, and a faint blush rises to his cheeks.
"I've... lashed out at you. Drunkenly and otherwise. And you helped me anyway." His voice is uncharacteristically apologetic. "You didn't deserve that - I'm sorry. And... thank you."
The look the two of you share is charged, and there's so much you want to say. You pause for too long though, and Rolan clears his throat.
"You went out of your way to help us, it's only right you get something in return." His tone is matter-of-fact as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a pouch, and you can tell it's gold without looking inside. He takes your hand and turns your palm upwards, places the bag in your hand, and curls your fingers around it. His own hand stays wrapped around yours for a moment, and he glances up at you through his lashes, suddenly bashful.
His words are quiet, meant just for you. "Here. I hope it helps."
You try to refuse - try to say anything at all - but before you have the chance he's pushing the bag towards you and loosening his grip. You're left standing there, staring at him, the pouch clutched to your chest. His tail flicks behind him.
The silence lingers, and Lia clears her throat to break it. "Stay and have a drink with us Tav? The least we can do is pour you a decent pint."
It's tempting, but you shake your head, shaking yourself from your stupor simultaneously. "As lovely as that sounds, I'm completely exhausted. There's not enough blood left in my body right now for me to risk booze, I'll be more ale than ichor."
Rolan's face twists at that, "you're hurt?"
You can only shrug, though the movement feels sluggish. "Par for the course of this hero business, funnily enough. I don't think I've been anything but hurt since I fell out of that nautiloid."
He frowns, "surely your group has healers? Potions?"
"Well," you nod, then shrug again, "Shadowheart and Halsin are healers, but their magic is better spent on you lot. And we're fresh out of potions right now, I'm going to go on the scrounge for some in the morning." Rolan looks distinctly unimpressed, so you shoot him a smile that you hope is comforting. "It's fine, really. I have a bed waiting for me upstairs which has been calling for me since yesterday. I'll feel right as rain after a few hours of rest."
This doesn't seem to placate him, and he shakes his head before standing from his chair decisively. "Absolutely not. I know some basic healing spells and I keep a few spare potions in my pack. I'll tend you - I insist." The last past comes briskly as you open your mouth to protest, and you close it again. He can clearly tell you're brewing an argument, and intercedes before you can fully form it. "Just let me look after you. Please?"
His echo of your own words stirs something in your chest, which feels a bit like he's cheating to be honest, and you find you haven't got the energy nor inclination to argue.
"Fine, but only if I get to lay down. My head is pounding."
He nods, "fine by me, which room is yours? I'll come find you."
You tilt your head upwards, "first door at the top of the stairs, I'll leave it unlocked."
He nods again. "I'll be with you momentarily, then."
It's at that moment that you notice the absolute shit-eating grins that the twins are wearing, and you feel yourself flush. Cal winks at you, which sends Lia into hysterics, and Rolan turns on her sharply.
"What?!" His tail is raised and flicks sharply, in a movement you can tell denotes his irritation, but it just makes Lia laugh more. You turn away briskly before he can see the blush rising on your face and take the stairs two at a time. You hear Cal cackle and Rolan whisper-shouting his complaints at the pair of them as you shut the door and lean your back against it.
You let yourself catch your breath, then take three long strides forwards til you're right at the edge of the bed, and unceremoniously fall face first into the mattress.
~~~
You're roused to consciousness by a light series of knocks against the door, and you manage to wrench your eyes open just as Rolan walks in.
He smiles, "sorry to disturb."
"Not at all, come on in."
He steps further into the room and clicks the door shut behind him. You smile to yourself as a thought crosses your mind, and mutter it quietly.
"'The fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, and so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door.'"
He quirks an eyebrow with a smirk, "poetry, Tav? You better not be trying to seduce me."
You snort, "please, with 'The Raven'? Rather a grim method of seduction, don't you think? I'm sure I could think of something more suited, if you insist."
His face flushes. "That won't be necessary."
The laugh you let out is incredibly unattractive, but you don't have enough energy to care. You realise you're staring at him over your shoulder where you're planted face-down on the bed, so you roll onto your back and sit up to face him better.
"'And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming...'" You trail off and laugh again. "Yeah, no, it's definitely not the most charming of poems. I'll have to come up with something better."
He smiles, his light flush unmoving, "oh, I don't know, that bit was almost sweet, if you ignore the original context."
You smile wide at that, and Gods, this feels so easy with him. So comfortable. You'd been so sure he'd hate you, but sitting here now looking at him, you can't imagine why.
He clears his throat, and tilts his head towards the bed. "May I?" You nod, and he seats himself next to you.
"How are you feeling?"
"Exhausted. Drained. A little lightheaded, if I'm being truthful. Feels like my bones have turned to jelly."
He frowns, "well that's far from ideal. Does anywhere in particular hurt? I'd like to make sure you're not actively bleeding out on me."
You shake your head, though the action makes your eyes blur, "just my head, really. Well, and my whole body aches, but that's no different than usual. I had been bleeding out, I think, but Astarion threw a potion and that staunched it."
He huffs. "Right. Where were you bleeding out from?"
You blink. "Oh, sorry. My side, under my ribs. Big sword."
He nods. "Do you mind lifting your shirt slightly? I just want to make sure the wound is closed properly."
You nod, and as you curl your fingers around the hem of your shirt he drops his various supplies between you both. There's a collection of healing salves, as well as a mundane first-aid kit.
He notices you looking. "Healing magic isn't a particular proficiency of mine. For anything small I figured we could make do the old fashioned way."
It makes your heart clench a bit, the tenderness and thoughtfulness he's extending towards you, so you nod dumbly instead of saying anything. You lift your shirt to expose your waist to him.
He sucks in a breath, and a look at his face tells you the wound is definitely not staunched.
"That bad, huh?"
To his credit, he does a good job of steeling his features into something neutral. He also does a good job of stealthily avoiding the question. "Nothing that can't be fixed. Do you mind if I...?"
He gestures towards you with his hands, and once again you're mute as you nod. He places his fingers gently against the sore skin around the cut and you flinch. He responds with a sympathetic grimace.
"Sorry, I just need to check how deep it is. The spell will be more effective if I know how far it needs to penetrate." You brace yourself as he touches the wound again, and he nods to himself as he inspects it. "It's a clean cut which means it shouldn't be too difficult to heal. What exactly happened?"
You wince again, though it's not from pain this time. You don't particularly want to go into the details with him; it's certain to upset him. He looks at you expectantly though, and his gentle touch on your skin is clouding your thoughts a little. You sigh.
"One of the guards. He lunged at Cal while his back was turned." Rolan's eyes widen. You shrug noncommittally, hoping to ease his concern. "I jumped in to stop it, so it caught me instead."
Rolan just stares at you, blinking.
"I..." He keeps staring at you. "You... You leapt in front of a blade to protect my brother?"
You wince again, making a sucking noise with your teeth. "... Sorry?"
He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose as he closes his eyes, lines appearing on his forehead. "I don't know whether I should punch you or kiss you."
You feel your heart leap, and you let a coy smirk dance across your lips, "if you're taking suggestions, I certainly have a preference."
He huffs out a laugh, and opens his eyes to look at you again. You can tell he's trying to look frustrated, but there's a shadow of a smile on his face. "Gods, you would, wouldn't you? I've never known you to not have an opinion on something."
His reaction emboldens you, "I have several opinions on the matter, in fact. Are you taking suggestions? I can give you an extensive list."
There's a cocky grin on his features now, and he leans in til his breath is ghosting over your face. Just as you think he's about to kiss you, he speaks instead.
"I thanked you once already. Don't be greedy."
The tone he utters the words in is low and gravelly, teasing in a way that's absolutely maddening, and you shudder involuntarily as he leans away from you. He looks very proud of himself.
You roll your eyes. "Whatever, you tease. Hurry up and fix me, will you?"
His gaze falls back to your wound at that, and his face drops. He trails a finger featherlight around the cut, which sends a shiver through you, and when he speaks his tone is serious again.
"Thank you, Tav. Truly. My family and I are eternally in your debt. Cal and Lia..." His eyes go slightly misty. "They're everything to me. I'm sorry you were injured, but I'm so deeply thankful for your help."
It's such a painfully genuine comment, and the only thing that feels right in the moment that follows is to rest your hand atop his free one where it rests on his knee. You don't say anything, but you don't think you need to.
He clears his throat. "Right, I'm going to cast the spell now, if you're ready? It might sting due to the wound's depth, but I'll try to be careful."
You nod, "I trust you."
An emotion you can't quite place flickers across his eyes, and you squeeze his hand gently before withdrawing. He grabs your hand before it gets very far, though, and flushes as he places it on his knee. He pointedly avoids your eye contact as he laces his fingers with yours.
"I... I can do it one handed."
You've absolutely not known him long enough for your heart to flutter the way it does, but you find you don't care very much. You squeeze his hand and shoot him a smile, before gesturing down at your abdomen.
"Go ahead, I'm ready."
You feel his magic dance along your skin and you gasp at the sensation. It's somehow cool and warm simultaneously, and it tingles as your flesh knits together. The feeling is different to when the others heal you. Shadowheart's magic feels like being bathed in a warm light, Halsin's feels like blades of grass tickling your dermis. Rolan's healing magic feels more like a soft breeze blowing through an open window; it feels like the particles you can see in the air when the light hits at a particular angle. It's gentle and homely, like being wrapped up in a tender embrace, and it reminds you of the soothing voice someone might use to comfort a child.
All too soon the feeling subsides, and you realise that your eyes have fallen shut. You open them slowly, blinking in the light of the room, and find Rolan already looking at you. His face is open and unguarded, and his eyes flicker across your features as though he's trying to memorise them. When he speaks, it's in a low whisper, as if the very air around the pair of you is fragile.
"... How do you feel?"
You consider his question. You take in the lingering fluttering sensation of his dissipating magic, the feeling of his fingers laced through yours, the exposed expression he wears as his eyes dance over you. You're not quite sure what to say.
So instead you say nothing, and you lean forward and press your lips into his.
His mouth is pliant under yours, his lips satin smooth. You feel rather than hear his intake of breath as you make contact with him, and his grip on your hand tightens minutely. It's a tender, fleeting thing, the kiss you give him, and when you pull away you can't help the goofy smile that spreads across your face.
"Far better, now."
He scoffs, but there's a light in his eyes that wasn't there before, and he's leaning back in. There's no hurry to his movements as he parts your lips, and you sink into the feeling of his mouth against yours. When you separate again, he's wearing a beaming grin that matches your own.
"As lovely as this is," the hand that isn't gripping yours comes up to caress your cheek, "I'd like to finish healing you. Is there anywhere else that hurts?"
You shake your head, then hesitate as the movement makes your skull throb. "Well... I have a pounding headache."
He chuckles, and both of his hands come up to the base of your neck as he leans into your space. He threads his fingers upwards through the hair there, the rest of your locks cascading over his forearms, and you shiver and let your eyes flutter shut as the hum of his magic washes over you once more. He scratches his nails lightly against your scalp and you let out a contented moan. Another soft laugh escapes him and you feel his breath against your cheek, which makes you shudder.
When his magic recedes again, your head feels warm and fuzzy, and you lean into his touch to encourage him not to let go.
"Don't fall asleep on me, Tav, I need to make sure you're fully healed."
You shake your head and plant your face into his neck, and Gods, his skin is so soft and warm. When he starts to chastise you again, you tilt your head and place soft open mouth kisses against his skin, and now he's the one shivering under your touch.
"Tav..." His tone is low, and you feel it in your chest. You hum in response which makes him shudder, and you feel his neck bob as he swallows heavily. "Tav, you need to rest."
You lift your face away from his skin, just enough to speak. "Do you want me to stop?"
He shivers again, and his fingers tighten their grip in your hair. "I should think you know the answer to that already."
You giggle, and reward his honesty with a light suck of the soft skin. He groans fully at that, and you feel the noise travel directly south. You can't help but pull the skin between your teeth and tease it gently.
"Gods," it's more of a breath than a word, "Tav, I- Can I kiss you? Please?"
You sit up and kiss him and he moans into your mouth as you slide your tongue against his. It's a maddening kiss, slow despite the underlying heat to both of your actions. Rolan's the one to break it, to your immense chagrin. You try to lean back in but he holds you at arms length by your shoulders.
"Tav." His voice is chiding, the tone reminiscent of the one you might use to chastise a cat that won't stop bringing you vole. "I'm not finished healing you."
The groan you let out is fairly childish, but whatever. It makes him laugh.
"Come on, I seem to remember you saying you wanted to lay down."
He eases you back til your head rests on the pillows. They're soft and downy, and Rolan's touch on your skin as he positions you on them is so light that you feel goosebumps raise on your skin. He sits facing you, one leg drawn up onto the mattress.
"Gods, Tav, you look exhausted. When was the last time you had a proper rest?"
You laugh at that, which probably isn't the reaction he was hoping for. "Never?"
He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose again, before looking back at you. "Okay, I'm going to use a general healing spell over your whole body, to hopefully ease some of your aches and pains. It'll close up any small wounds and then you can actually sleep."
When you nod, his hands come to hover above you and the staticy feeling of his magic reaches out to you as he connects with the weave. His hands trail over your body without touching you, making their way across your whole form, and by the time he's finished you feel like you're surrounded by a cloud. He's gotten rid of aches you didn't even know you had.
You only realise you're half asleep when you register the gentle touch of his hand on your cheek, so barely there that you could be imagining it, before you feel the bed dip as he moves to stand. You reach a hand out and grab at him blindly, catching the edge of his robe. It makes him pause, and you blink your eyes open.
"Stay."
The look that spreads across his face is so raw and full of emotion that you almost feel like you should close your eyes to give him privacy. There's a softness to his gaze you've never seen on him before, and he swallows thickly and gives one small nod. You shuffle over enough to make room for him, and he unbuckles the silver gorget he wears over his robes, placing it gently on the small table next to the bed. You expect him to lay down then, but he stands for another moment hesitating, before eventually bringing his hands to the sash that holds his robes together. The flush that rises to your cheeks makes your whole face warm, and you watch his fingers (he has beautiful hands) as they untie the laces and drag the robe off his shoulders, so that he's left just in his plain undershirt and baggy trousers.
You're pretty sure you've never been this turned on from seeing someone wearing clothes, but there's something about seeing Rolan in casual dress rather than his wizarding attire that ignites a fire low in your gut. He takes a moment to toe off his boots, and just as he goes to get in bed he pauses.
"Is this definitely what you want? I don't want to intrude on your rest."
You'd roll your eyes if you had enough energy, but instead you pat the bed beside you. He chuckles and finally clambers onto the mattress. He keeps a respectful distance, lying on his back with one hand folded onto his chest and his ankles crossed over each other. His other hand brushes against the back of your own where it rests between you.

You know what.
In the Jason and Danny instinctively parent each other AUs, we rarely take advantage of Dani.
I mean. She's right there in need of parenting.
Consider, Danny is in Gotham because he and Dani have decided to meet up there.
Jason has been on edge the past few days because he feels like there's something he needs to be worried about and suddenly it just doubles? And when he follows it he finds these two kids and oh God they need an adult.
(How does he know they need an adult? They're literally just standing there talking. Jason doesn't know but he knows they are stressed and tired and need someone looking out for them.)
Meanwhile, Danny's core was too young to go into fully parent mode when he first met Dani (still likely is depending on the timing of this mess) even if it does recognize her as his child which is why neither of them have noticed this yet, but this guy approaches them. And he's got a real weak and sickly half formed core? But he's also clearly alive? And Danny's protection obsession kicks in and he needs to help this guy.
And so now you've got Jason running on ghost instincts to try and take care of two abandoned ghost babies. And you've got Danny dealing with his protective instincts regarding Dani and his need to help this chronically ill ghost that hasn't had any treatment since he was formed (he's probably a bit like the ghostly version of a premy baby that survived before we figured out incubators and such).
And Dani just living for all of this, riding the high of feeling safer than she ever has before.
And the Batfam in the background wondering what the hell just happened.

Trick Force or Choice
Danny and Phantom are different people; they are just fused together after the portal opens up on top of them. As Phantom was crossing the ghost zone, the portal opened up on him as Danny turned it on, fusing them together. They are still their own people just sharing the same body. Danny has control of the human form, and Phantom controls the ghost form.
Spme background, Danny died when the portal opened, and the only reason he's still alive is because of Phantom's ectoplasm. They figure out how to keep Danny alive without him, but Phantom is afraid of losing him.
Takes place after defeating Pariah Dark.
Phantom becomes the new king after defeating Pariah Dark. These are three ways Phantom gets to keep Danny either as a friend or something more. Either by trick, force, or by choice.
Ideas:
Trick: Whoever is given the royal consort pendant by the king is the official consort. Phantom doesn't want to lose Danny and thinks the only way to keep him around is as a wife, so he doesn't tell Danny the meaning when he gives it to him. Danny doesn't learn about it until a DC crossover. Got inspired by dcxdpdabbles The Royal Consort.
When confronted, Phantom pretends he didn't know. They decide to keep up the charade because their marriage is seen as a treaty between the two realms. Danny later finds out the truth, and there is a lot of angst involved.
Force: Phantom protected Amity Park for years and wants something in return; Danny. Phantom uses the ghosts he controls to grab Danny and puts the pendant on him. Like Sam's crown, only the king or someone of equal power can take it off. Danny can either be stuck by his side or gain his own powers to escape. Inspired by Anastasia's villain song dinner scene. The song has nothing to do with this. I was just listening to it when reading The Royal Consort, and the idea was born.
By choice: After Phantom is crowned king, he gets many marriage proposals and rejects all of them. The officials are stubborn, and they refuse to listen to him unless he gets married. They think they have backed him into a corner, but then Danny finds out. He decided that since Phantom protected him and his town for years, it's his turn to protect him from the greedy officials and became his consort. When they try to pull the "two men can't have a baby" argument, then they bring up Dani and name her their heir

i think it's super interesting how the perception of ned as a kind man hinges in part on the absence of theon, in regards to character, in agot. it'd be no surprise to anyone to say that theon's development in agot is. not there. We get all of ned in agot and it's only after ned's death when not only do we get theon's pov, but he becomes a character, not to mention one more pov who has.. complicated feelings towards ned. ned is across the sea from dany; theon was raised in the lair, so to speak. a neat contrast of umm constant anxiety & restlessness vs claustrophobia. i think. you're being chased vs you're trapped. also, the distance between the readers knowledge & the characters knowledge—we know ned wouldn't willingly hurt dany, but she doesn't, and that matters. we don't know if ned would've even killed theon, and even if he wouldn't have, theon doesn't know that, and that matters. anyways, back to the point i was making—it's almost this accidental commentary on theon. theon became a character after ned was out of the picture, theon came to life after ned died, so on and so forth, he wasn't a person when he held ned's longsword. if theon was even halfway realized in agot, what would ned seem like? his... indifference to theon suddenly made cold and cruel (just like how people see him!), and not just a result of the author, which it objectively is? something something ned left winterfell and never returned and theon, still alive, now haunts it. i like it a lot. accidental impact. the #theonlongcon

DPxDC Idea - Parents and Dead on Main
This post is more setup/background info for what could be a larger story. If I ever write more of this, I'll link it back to this post.
For clarity, I do use the term 'human' to refer to those who are alive and don't live in the Infinite Realms. I am sorry there is so much worldbuilding and so very little Dead on Main
-----
Danielle (nicknamed Ellie because Dani would be way to confusing and she is her own person) starts to destabilize again, but the cure from before doesn't work. It's beyond what Danny can do on his own, so he takes Ellie to Frostbite.
Frostbite tells the duo that basically, Ellie's core formed incorrectly. Her core has been struggling to keep her alive until now, but it can't hang on any longer.
But! There is a solution! They can take Ellie's core and basically force it to revert to a pre-formation state. They'll then be able to artificially generate the conditions needed for Ellie's core to begin forming correctly on it's own. At that point, Ellie will be able to grow at a normal rate, but they won't be able to artificially age her up.
In simpler terms, they can de-age her to an itty bitty ghost egg (or whatever you want to call it, maybe embryo?), and then trigger the change that makes her an itty bitty baby halfa. She'll have to age normally after that.
It's to save her life, and without it she'll turn to goo and she's running out of time, so they do it. Ellie becomes a baby! A baby halfa!
It's important to note that a baby ghost is not the same as a human baby. The term "baby ghost" refers to two things. 1) newly formed ghosts and 2) child ghosts who may still "age" and alter their form to match that of an adults. When a new ghost's core is fully formed, that's when they stop being a baby ghost. The time it takes to be fully formed can vary from ghost to ghost.
Following this definition, after the de-aging, Ellie is a baby ghost. At the start of the show when the portal had just opened, Danny was a baby ghost. At some point, his core finished forming (more on that later, possibly in a separate post), so he isn't a baby ghost any longer. Box Lunch is a baby ghost because not only is she newly formed, but she will, presumably, age into an adult form. Youngblood is not a baby ghost, because even though he is a child, he has determined that he will NOT age and take on an adult form. Being child sized is his adult form.
When it comes to the question of who will raise Ellie, there are complications. Ordinarily, Frostbite and the Far Frozen would be happy to raise her, especially as a favor to Danny. However, Ellie is a halfa. She needs to be able to spend time in the human world and amongst living people, not just ghosts in the Infinite Realms. Vlad isn't an option for obvious reasons, so Danny is it.
It helps that, in the years since Ellie was created, he'd taken on a parental role towards Ellie. So, even if he wasn't the only option, he would have been the best option anyway.
So, Danny is a dad now. I'm imagining him at 20-23 years old, so he's going to have that I'm-a-new-dad-and-I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing energy like, all the time now.
But here's the thing about baby ghosts, and it's not any different for baby halfas. They form a bond with the ghosts around them, literally a bond between their cores. They rely on those bonds to know they're safe, as the baby ghost's core isn't developed enough to protect them. Baby ghosts feed on emotions until they can process ectoplasm, so they also rely on these bonds for nutritional reasons.
These bonds are familial in nature and will carry into adulthood. The bonds can always change, but it's a lot harder to change the bonds when a baby ghost is involved. Not only because a baby ghost may not be able to communicate very well, but also because changing a bond is stressful on cores that aren't fully developed.
It's also important for a baby ghost to have lots of bonds. The parental bonds they form will be the most important, but having other bonds is a key part to the development of a ghost. As they get older, these bonds can influence who the ghost becomes as an individual, much like how living children are influenced by those they spend a lot of time around. A baby ghost is most influenced by the ghosts they have parental bonds with.
A parental bond doesn't mean a biological parent, though it can be. Using Box Lunch as an example, she'd have parental bonds with Box Ghost and Lunch Lady. But, parental bonds can be formed with adoptive parents or mentors, and there can be more than two parental bonds. Ghosts tend to stop forming parental bonds once they reach adolescence, but it's not a firm rule or anything.
A ghost with only one parental bond, however, is going to be almost solely influenced by that parent ghost, especially if they are an actual baby like Ellie is. And in the case of a baby halfa whose only parental bond is the person whose DNA she's based off of? Yeah, she's going to end up to be almost identical to Danny, which isn't what anyone wants.
At first, Danny thinks it isn't a problem. Jazz, Tucker, and Sam are liminal enough that even if they don't have true cores, they can form the bonds that ghosts do. They are also living, so they'll be beneficial to the development of her human half. One of them can form a parental bond with Ellie, they're going to be big parts of her life anyway, problem solved!
Or not solved. When Ellie was de-aged, she kept the bonds she'd already formed. She's got a parental bond with Danny, but aunt/uncle/niece bonds with Jazz, Tucker, and Sam. And as previously mentioned, it's awfully difficult to change the type of bond a baby ghost has with someone.
And so, Danny needs to find another halfa, or someone human but liminal, to raise a child with. Danny has been living in Gotham, and the most liminal person he's met is a hot guy who makes death jokes and goes by the name of Jason Todd.
Is dating his co-parent required? No, but Danny is not going to pass on hitting that. Jason Todd is the most attractive person Danny has ever seen.
-----
Jason: *walks into the batcave, holding a tiny sleeping child in one arm*
Batfam: *stares*
Jason: *moves around as evenly as possible to not wake the kiddo*
Batfam: *stares some more* *realizes the kid has black hair and blue eyes*
Jason: *digs through a pile of old gear without a sound* *makes calming sounds when the kiddo shifts around* *does what he needs to and leaves with the sleeping kiddo*
Batfam:
Stephanie, probably: Damn, I bet on Dick. Who put money on Jason inheriting Bruce's adoption problem?
-----
Ellie falling asleep on Jason while he's Red Hood, and he can't do anything because cat rules apply for tiny, sleeping baby halfas.
-----
Jason showing up with baby Ellie around the batfam, who have no idea why he has a kid or where she came from. Jason isn't going to tell them shit, so he refuses to say anything about her and might have taken it too far.
Baby Ellie: *sneezes adorably* *accidentally shoots an ectoblast at the wall of Jason's safehouse because she can't control her powers*
Dick: I get that you don't want to talk about the kiddo, but can we talk about the fact that she has meta abilities and that you now have a hole in your wall that's still smoking?
Jason: what are you talking about? what hole?
Dick: The one right behind you?
Jason: oh, that? been there for weeks, keep meaning to fix it but haven't gotten to it yet
Dick:
Dick: I literally watched the kiddo shoot a green blast at the wall just now
Jason: *wiping Ellie's nose and then picking her up so she can rest her head on his shoulder* what kid?
Dick: *screams internally*
-----
Tim coming up with conspiracy theories as to why Jason has a kid that sometimes has Lazarus green eyes. His theories become more and more wild the longer he goes without sleep.
Tim's current theory is a mass, drug induced hallucination because Jason never confirms that there is even a child, even if he's holding her.
Jason comes home and tells Danny all of Tim's new theories, just to make him laugh. Not only is Danny's laugh one of the best sounds, but when Ellie hears him laughing, she starts laughing too even though she doesn't know why one of her dads is laughing. Jason would do anything to make sure his two favorite people always have a reason to laugh and be happy.

Respawn is Phantom
When Danny was electrocuted in the portal, he died, it's true, but it wasn't just his soul that came out. You could call it a case of bad luck, but a ghost was looking to return to the world of the living and saw an opportunity.
So the reason Phantom has that appearance is because the ghost that got mixed into Danny's DNA is Respawn. Slade and Talia's clone who had recently passed away.
Danny is unaware of this at first, but after confronting Dan he began to wonder: why separating his ghost from his human side would make him aggressive? Why does he sometimes feel things that he swears don't make sense? And if Phantom was just a manifestation of his ghost powers, how could he be separated into his own being?
He'd been split up before but it created two versions of Danny, not Danny and Phantom. How could his powers grow a personality of their own without him?
Each of those questions has its own explanation: His ghost side is actually Respawn, which is slowly being absorbed by Danny. Respawn knows exactly who he is (or was) but as long as he's attached to Danny he is Danny, to an extent. Or at least, Phantom, who's a part of Danny more than he is Respawn.
He can remember everything but he can't make Danny remember any of it, because it's not his memories. And Danny both as Fenton and Phantom takes priority in their mind. The reason Dan was like this was because of the influence of Plasmius and Respawn. After all, the serum in Slade's blood often drives teenagers crazy.
Respawn lived all his life questioning his status as a person due to the fact that he was a clone. Living with Slade and seeing their differences made the process easier, but now? Now he can only influence the person who has him trapped, even if it is accidentally. Not knowing if one day he will disappear into Danny's consciousness.
Respawn can't make Danny remember his life, not out of any moral or emotional reason, he is locked behind a mental block, an entire person deep in Danny's subconscious that he doesn't know about and doesn't get to come out pretty much ever.
There are decisions in which Respawn positively influenced Danny. As the way of taking Dani's existence, because he knew exactly how she felt at that time, and Dani reminded him too much of his sister Rose. His influence has also extended to Phantom's way of acting: More fearless and risk-taking than when he's just Danny, he's also more easily swayed by anger (something that was very present in Respawn when he was alive).
Basically, he can affect small things like the aforementioned confidence and anger, emotions and stray thoughts mostly, especially intrusive ones, but he's not in control of anything.
The moment Slade shows up at Amity Park and sees Phantom is when things start to get complicated for Danny and Respawn.

This Is It - Neymar Imagine
Summary:
okey, i know the orders are closed but the defeat of Brazil leads me to want one where neymar is comforted by his wife.
you are one of the only people who writes about it and I LOVE the way you do. ☆

Author's Note: Thank you for requesting it. I'm still affected by the defeat, however, I decided to write about it right now while I'm still experiencing these emotions. I only said one thing to Neymar before the game. Don't overthink, just enjoy it and give your best. He was extremely nervous, he kept glancing at me during the breaks the whole time. I always gave him a smile and cheered for him, letting him know he's doing amazing. When Neymar scored, I became the happiest person alive. I was confident we could win it. Neymar seemed more relieved, he still tried to remain calm and didn't do any dancing celebrations.   It all came down to penalties. I hate penalties. Neymar hates penalties, too. He hates the idea of a penalty deciding everything, probably because of the pressure he feels when he has to shoot.  Brazil takes the first penalty and misses. This is devastating. Neymar looks extremely worried and anxious, as do the rest of the team. Croatia manages to score. It all comes down to Marquinhos. He needs to score the penalty for a winning chance. He gets to the ball, he shoots it, he misses. I drop down on my seat. I hear cheering all around me from the other team's fans. I can't believe this happened. Brazil lost. Neymar lost, he didn't even get the chance to shoot. I can't hold my feelings inside anymore and I begin to tear up. I look down at the field and spot Neymar sitting on the field with is head on his hands. This sight broke my heart. I can't contain myself anymore and I decide to go down to him. I go behind him and hug him from the back, standing behind him on my knees. He can tell it's me. He keeps his head down and sobs uncontrollably. "Ney..." I hug him tighter. He doesn't respond he just keeps crying. I decide to go around in front of him and face him. I take his face on my hands and try to get him to look at me. "Amor, look at me." I can't stop my own tears from falling, I place my forehead against his. He grabs my shoulders and hides his face in the crook of my neck. I feel his tears on my chest. I rub his back and kiss his shoulder repeatedly. I want to get him out of the field and calm him down. I know what he's thinking. He thinks he's a failure, he thinks he's worthless. "Ney, amor. It's okay. You did amazing, bebê. You gave all you had, I know you didn't hesitate once. You took all your chances, amor. You should be proud of yourself." I say to him, we're still in the same position, he's not moving or reacting to my words, he just keeps crying. "Let's go sit inside and calm down, Ney. Okay, yeah? Can we do that?" I ask him, hoping he will agree. I see Dani coming up to us and rubbing Neymar's back, he tries to comfort him but fails. I ask Dani to help me make Ney stand up.
We go inside the hall and all the players head to the changing room. As soon as we are out of camera's sight, Neymar turns to me and wraps his arm around me, continuing to cry.
"I could've done more. This wasn't supposed to end like this." he speaks for the first time since the loss.
"You gave it all you had, Ney. Everything. Your heart, your soul, you talent, everything. Please, don't blame yourself. Please, amor." I kiss his neck.
"No, I didn't. If I did, I would've been over there celebrating our win. Not here, feeling defeated."
"Yes, you did. You fucking did, Ney."
I let go from the hug and grab his hand, leading him to the changing room. I decide to wait outside the door for him.
"You go in there and change so we can go home and just lay together and sleep, you need to rest. I will wait right here for you." he nods and leaves.
Once he comes out, he reaches for my hand and we walk towards the exit to the parking lot. I can tell he's still extremely disappointed, which is expected. I can't stand to see him like this. I want him to get over this as soon as possible. He deserves every good thing in this world.
"Ney?" I look up to him as we're walking towards the car.
"Yeah?"
"Please don't make this harder on yourself. I need you to know that you're the best player, the best team mate, the best person out there. I love you with all my heart. I'm so proud of you. I'm proud of you every single day."
He cracks a small smile to me for the first time ever, which is enough for me. He stops and leans in to kiss me.
"Thank you for being here, I love you, Y/N. With all my heart."

why do you think jonsa is happening tho? jonerys is different bc they are going to be enemies, but i don’t see what jonsa does for the story
so let me first lay out roughly what i think is going to happen should jonsa become canon. I personally love going down meta and graphic spirals, so I'm including links to other people’s theories/explanations/graphics of events too - also I would like to shout out @istumpysk because half these metas and gifsets were stuff I found on their blog initially, and also was the one who really convinced me that jonsa is less of a crackship and more of a contender for an actual canon theory, and from there i really found my niche in this fandom. specifically this meta about jon being the mummer's dragon is what pulled me out of my "we're never getting twow and if we do it's just gonna be that stupid dany has jon's magical baby while tyrion watches, then they all die theory" slump and lit my brain on fire again. let's goooo:
The Ashford Tourney Theory - Something Shady goes down at the tourney Petyr has planned that requires Sansa to make a quick getaway, and likely causes her to run into Brienne while fleeing. This theory for me is about hinting at Sansa's romantic future, allies, and how she's getting the hell out of the Vale: both the dark haired, Not Targ Looking Targ Prince that is the son of A Great Prince That Never Was being her romantic endgame but also it's about Brienne (/Dunk) getting her the hell out of there and becoming Sansa's number one ally and protector (with Sansa's number two being Bronze Yohn!! But he's not fleeing with her - if he helps her get out of the Vale, it'll be to cause a distraction or a fight so Sansa can slip away unnoticed. Bronze Yohn is coming with the knights of the Vale later to help defend his girl!).
The Girl In Grey - Out of options on where to go, Sansa & Brienne makes a long, fast, and dangerous trek to the only family she knows is still alive: Jon Snow at the Wall. No, I don't think Alys Karstark is the girl in grey on a dying horse; I think she's a red herring, the same as the scene where Sweetrobin destroys the snow castle, and that the real girl in grey (who slays the savage giant) is Sansa. Melisandre says that she sees "Jon's sister" but doesn't specify more than that, or how she knows it's Jon's sister, even - why would she assume Alys is Jon's sister and not some random Northern girl? Why was she so sure that it was his sister? It's because Alys isn't the girl in grey, it's Sansa, her horse dying because she's traveled halfway across the continent with Brienne and Pod, desperately trying to keep ahead of the dozens of people hunting her down.
The Blood of Winterfell - Sansa and Jon will reclaim winterfell together. This one is similar to above; just like Alys was a red herring, the scene where Sansa rebuilds the castle has a lot of foreshadowing (imo) but that isn't the moment in the prophecy Arya hears. The Savage Giant is Littlefinger, the castle of snow is Winterfell, and Sansa is going to liberate her home alongside Jon and what's left of the Northern lords.
Stone and Snow Remains - THIS is where Sansa and Jon will fall in love while fighting for the North. This is also the part where you lose a lot of people, because they think the evidence is real weak sauce but like, I also think the Jonerys "evidence" is weak af too (and no wonder, we have at minimum 2k pages left to get through!!). There's several believed foreshadowing points to this one, bare with me for this weird ass formatting because I can't do sub bullet points on tumblr:
1. Sansa's linking of snow with love and affection - "drifting snowflakes brushed her face as light as lover’s kisses, and melted on her cheeks...She could feel the snow on her lashes, taste it on her lips. It was the taste of Winterfell. The taste of innocence. The taste of dreams." along with her snow maiden and snow knight.
2. Bael the Bard and the Rose of Winterfell - the chapter where Sansa gets her period for the first time, Cersei refers to it as “flowering” a dozen times, linking being a maiden (a young girl, not quite of age or just barely of age) to flowers and several people refer to sex as ~plucking. Also notice the one who stole her from KL is Lord BAELish.
3. Aemon the Dragonknight & Queen Naerys - Sansa compares herself to Naerys, Joffrey to Aegon, and wishes for an Aemon, among the many similarities between her life and Naerys'. Jon not only calls himself Aemon, he has a deep connection with a different Aemon Targaryen. And if you’re thinking “Sansa isn’t Naerys, X is Naerys” I would remind you that Sansa as a character existed first, George purposefully had her compare herself to Naerys, and parallels don't belong to just one character.
4. Jenny of Oldstones and The Prince of Dragonflies - there's honestly a lot of parallels between them but like the Aemon/Naerys parallel, the Jenny/Duncan one stands out to me.
5. Janos Slynt - I mean. Iconic. This was the scene that made me first think about what their relationship could be in the future and there’s a reason Jonsas fixate on it. It’s about Sansa being desperate for a hero and the hero she dreamed about being Jon the whole time. 6. Societal Alienation - There's the bastard parallels here, the "it would be so sweet to see him again", the "Winterfell belongs to my sister, Sansa." It's about how Jon, through circumstances of his birth, finds himself alienated from the rest of society and reconnects with his prim and proper sister Sansa, who finds herself alienated from the rest of society as well but for vastly different reasons.
Robb’s Will - Howland is going to show up in the North, along with Maege and Galbert, with some WILD news about why Jon can’t rule Winterfell. There’s a lot of contention around this. Bran probably shows up around this time too, and Arya gets to the Riverlands to discover Lady Stoneheart and give her the gift of mercy. This is where all the inheritance stuff is going to happen and I have no idea how it's going to go down besides it's going to be messy as all fuck.
The Pact Of Ice And Fire - Jon & Sansa get secret married bc they’re in love, not siblings, & jon is the only man she trusts not to steal her claim. This isn't the only possible foreshadowing instance of a marriage either - some believe the Sandor/Sansa scene during the Battle of the Blackwater is foreshadowing as well (personally I feel that's a bit of a stretch but I wanted to include it anyway).
Jon As An Envoy - I talked about this in my "what's Jon's ending" a little but I believe Jon will act as an envoy for either Sansa or Bran to Aegon VI, essentially playing out a similar story that he does in the show with Daenerys. By which I mean, Jon is not the King because the ruler themselves do not go as an envoy, that’s stupid and dangerous, but he goes as an ambassador for Sansa or Bran, to treat with a new claimant to the Iron Throne that is gaining support - Aegon VI & Jon Connington. They will probably clash, Jon will probably have yet another identity crisis, there had BETTER be gay incest subtext, then Aegon dies, and Jon has his sixth quarter life crisis in a row.
“King” of the Gift - again, something I touched on in my Jon meta is that I think he’s going to have a hand in resettling the Gift. Personally, I think it's likely that Jon leaves to protect the claims of his siblings (see: Duncan and Jenny) and goes to the Gift to help resettle it to keep out of the way. This ending is typically referred to as the "bael the bard" ending but i like to think of it as the "brandon's gift" ending instead - though he is not physically with his family, Jon feels fulfilled having confirmed his family loves him through reclaiming Winterfell and marrying Sansa, being reunited with Arya, and being given the Gift by Bran. Sansa claims her children were fathered by a wolf.
So…what does all this do for the story?
Well, in my opinion, several things.
I think the main barrier here is that most people in the greater fandom describe Sansa's story as ~growing past childish wants~ and Jon's as ~rejecting love~ and I do not agree with either of those takes even a little bit. This is where (imo) the dividing line between Jonsas and the rest of the fandom is. I don’t think the answer to Sansa’s question “will anyone ever marry me for love” is going to be “nah" - that's not just a sad story to me (wanting to be married isn't childish! craving intimacy and understanding isn't childish! it's also not wrong for a child to be childish!), I think the idea that Sansa (or Jon) will not find another love just doesn't line up with how George approaches his story. Who Sansa's husband will be has been such a big question, and her story is so heavy into the more romantic tropes like courtly love and chivalry and the line between politics and love and identity, that the question of Sansa's hand in marriage will be plot relevant. I also think it's kinda naive of people to pretend like George isn't very interested in the sexual dynamics of the characters he writes about (yeah, sure, no woman needs a man but "needing a man" is not what this is about. look at everything this man wrote in F&B and tell me he is going to write a female character that longs for sex and desire and doesn't get it!).
After AGOT, nearly every time Sansa thinks about marriage involves her longing for love but believing she will never get it because a man will only ever love her for her claim. Giving her a man - like Jon - who not only will not steal her claim and in fact has defended it twice over already, who will love her for who she is and not what she can give him, is a really important aspect of her story in my opinion.
As for Jon, I am even more firmly against the opinion that his story is about rejecting love; Jon’s story is about wanting to be a good man, to measure up to his father ~despite~ his bastard blood. When Aemon asks if Ned would choose honor over love and Jon stubbornly says yes, Jon is wrong and it’s important to not forget that. Ned has never once in his entire life chosen honor over love; he chooses his daughter’s life over his honor, he chooses his sister & her son’s life over honor, he chooses Arya & Nymeria over honor, and on and on!!! Ned chooses love at almost turn but none of his children know that just yet - look at Robb choosing Jeyne’s honor over his own and how upset he is at the idea that Ned would be disappointed despite the fact that Ned would have understand Robb’s decision! Jon's whole arc is tied up in realizing that it is not wrong or dirty to feel and choose love, passion, and desire and if he never has another romantic arc again, I think you lose the second part of that lesson which is "you are responsible for how you act when you feel love but that doesn't mean that simply choosing love makes you a bad person."
There's also the fact that George has talked a lot about "who lives, who dies, who gets married" and yet we have not one marriage at the end of the show AND there's not a lot of guesses at what "who gets married" means besides Jon/erys (and even if Jonsa doesn't happen, I simply do not see Jon/erys happening. they are not similar enough, they will not be in the same space for long enough, and they are on wildlly different trajectories for their story, they are not getting married let alone having sex). I think Jonsa fits that bill very well.
These various theories - from Sansa being queen, Jon living in exile, The Ashford Tourney Theory, the secret marriage, every one of them - are ideas and themes that I have really been thinking about for about 12 years now. I think Jon and Sansa's relationship could fit with the themes in their stories, the overarching themes in the books, and my own personal opinions. I think it gives George a great opportunity to delve into the courtly love aspects he enjoys so much, as well as delve into inheritance, legacy, legitimacy, honor, incest (yes, that too), and above all, what George himself has said the whole series is about - love. The human heart in conflict with itself is what I think Jon and Sansa as a romantic couple does for the series.

asoiaf is just a massive chess game between bloodraven and bittersteel we already know this. dany and jon are bloodraven soldiers (they don't know it yet but bran does), faegon and his squad are working for bittersteel. bloodraven is still alive in his goon cave, bittersteel's head got covered in gold, along with his arm which got grafted onto Jaime like some metal gear bullshit. This is why in winds Jaime is gonna start expressing extreme distaste towards dorne and support for that aegon guy crashing around in the stormlands, he just doesn't know that he's possessed by bittersteel yet. bloodraven actually warged the guy who sold grrm his first elric of melibone book. This is all true.
JAIME LANNISTER of all people taking a HARD pivot into becoming a BITTERSTEEL STAN of all things is so so fucking funny. he could never approach aegor’s level of unmitigated raw haterism because ned stark is already dead. but i hope he tries. if he and cersei fight who’s taking the other’s eye because my money is notttt on jaime

"People wouldn't have cared if Dany and Jon married as aunt and nephew. The Targaryeans did it for 300 years and no one complained."
Correction: The smallfolk were not allowed to complain because they were all under forced subjugation to a ruling power with atomic weapons with wings who did not hesitate to burn people and cities alive. The highlords did not want to object because the Targaryeans were the ruling power with atomic weapons with wings who did not hesitate to burn their enemies alive, and making your entire house an enemy to them was a death sentence. The faith litterly did object it, and were forced to sign the doctrine of exceptionalism which only granted it to the Targaryeans because they were the ruling power with atomic weapons with wings who did not hesitate to burn alive those who opposed their blood purity practices.
As soon as they were gone, the entire realm returned back to seeing incest as an unforgivably disgusting sin and any children born from it were considered abominations to the point a brother and sister having children together in the highest orders of the royal family was the catalyst for kickstarting a multi year war which killed tens of thousands.
Literally the only person who wouldn't oppose that marriage would be Dany, because she was raised to think her families incest was normal and also knows she could force Jon to be loyal to her all powerful rule because she has atomic weapons with wings who does not hesitate to burn her enemies alive.
Also all of this is moot anyways, because just say you are against Northern Independence and get on with it. Because that's what marrying Dany would do, destroy Northern Independence since now if they step out of line ever again, Dany would burn Jon alive to scare the remaining Starks and Northeners not to step against her again.
Jon sacrificed everything to save his people, Dany did nothing and yall want to force Jon to give up literally every single freedom hes just acquired for the first time in his life.
Almost like the story is about how demanding people to bend the knee is the corrupting power which only ever breeds more corruption and dissent, and is a system of total control which is not good or sustainable.
It's almost like Dany doesn't actually want to break the wheel if it means she cannot be the one, all powerful Queen with her dragon nukes and is really just using Jon as hostage and a pawn against his will.
Also shes his aunt. Stop it.
