What I love about Jiang Cheng the most is his attitude of "when they go low, I go lower," and I honestly find it incredibly funny and valid

HAVE U SEEN THIS
yes I have but I am chill because those eyes look determined and his expression is very business-like so he is just there doing fanservice a.k.a doing his job as an idol

I feel a little guilty for giving poor Sir Kenneth a hard time, but I continue to be convinced that Sir Walter is deliberately roasting him. In Chapter 13 alone, he:
decides that since he has abandoned his post, he might as well try to see stuff as well as eavesdropping
is revealed to be eavesdropping because his love interest unties a curtain
annoys his love interest by... asking for permission to die in battle
cuts a giant hole in the queen’s tent because it’s too much work to exit in a different way (?!?)
fails to apprehend or even glimpse antagonists because he’s busy trying not to trip over tent ropes
Kenneth. Ken. Leopard-Boy. Please get it together.

Playing Memorial Saga before playing chapter 9 has been so unexpectedly funny. This sequence right here is just golden
He waited for Ramge in an empty room for hours AGAIN lmaoo he even had the same reaction (but with less exclamation marks). I’d pay to see the mental gymnastics he went through to justify waiting for his crush for hours before thinking that maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t planning to show up at all. I don’t remember the whole Saint West section of the story but if I was Carrie trying to get rid of Rachel I would just tell him “hey Prince Ramge said he’ll meet you in this jail cell” and watch him camp there forever probably

one thing abt thalia and percy's dynamic that is often overlooked is that percy was punished for the same things thalia was rewarded for. there's a prophecy abt one of the big three kids? percy is treated like a liar and thief and ppl refuse to talk to him. thalia? everyone respects her (including gods!) and assumes she'll do a great job saving the world. thalia is accepted immediately at camp and threatens the place percy spent two years proving he deserves. percy wants to go on a quest to save his friend? he's an attention seeker and glory stealer. thalia? well, she's the obvious choice. thalia comes up w a plan to win capture the flag that's basically "leave everything to me" and percy comes up with a plan that's basically "if you see a good opportunity, go for it," but percy is viewed as the control freak.
what i'm saying is percy had every reason to resent thalia and he didn't. he chose not to. and thalia had every reason to look down on percy and didn't.
even when they were fighting, i never saw it as a power struggle. they were being pit against each other, and instead of doing what everyone expected them to (kronos was fully expecting thalia to kill percy), they chose to love and respect each other. because they're not their parents. they're just two kids who started cracking under the pressure but refused to break.

Little things adults and older people can do to help younger people and children feel included, safe, and respected as an equal individual:
Ask before touching the young person - even for hugs. Ask before you take pictures of them, and let them see photographs of them before they are printed or sent to others (even family).
Apologize when you are wrong
Ask for a young persons thoughts on a subject, then engage with them after they have spoken
Demonstrate behaviour you want to see from them (see: apologizing). Say "excuse me," say "thank you," say "please" to them
Validate their feelings, even if they don't know how to express them just yet
Remember that this is the first time they've been alive, and that you've had way longer to "figure it out"
These are some things I wish other adults remembered when engaging with young folks. We so often forget what childhood felt like and how unfair it all was because we were often awarded freedoms as adults that we never had as children. These kids are equal to adults, and they deserve the same courtesy, respect, kindness, and understanding we give to other adults.
