So far about halfway through ff7 rebirth. My biggest thoughts so far are:

While i get that FF7 Remake was trying to do something unique. And because of its choices it make Remake and Rebirth SEQUELS to the original ff7. The actual design of the game I really dislike, specifically how many hours long tine wasting dungeon areas there are. The plot changes? Fine. I know everyone just wanted a remaster, me included cause I just wanted pretty normal ps1 ff8 or ff9 or better proportion models with voices so Id hear cloud say mosey and ride a dolphin. I think making these new ones sequels does give them the freedom to say "well since its not the original plot, but a sequel, if you dont like changes then your original ff7 is still the original plot in the first timeline." And i honestly think it gave them the excuse to say Ever Crisis phone game is the actual ff7 original remaster (except its not, because its in installments, its too linited hardware wise to do the regular mini games, and its a lose lose for anyone who wanted just a plain remaster with voices... i guess theres always mods).

But anyway. The bulk of ff7 Remake is mostly like the ff7 original, just a sequel so its got a few wild changes pretty common to the ff7 expanded universe like Crisis Cores addition of Angeal and Genesis. The only sucky part of it to me is it felt like it needed to be a 20 hour game, not a 40 hour one. I did not need to be in midgar that long. More importantly the dungeons felt bloated. I think they were trying to prove they needed multiple games so they made Midgar too long, or thought ppl would be mad if it was a 20 hour game. I qouldnt have been mad. But because it does have bloated dungeon segments i may never play it again. Its redeeming feature is the chapter select at the end, so i can redo certain parts i liked and skip a ton of annoying time wasting chunks.

Is ff7 remake worth playing? Sure. Especially if you liked or played Crisis Core or Dirge of Cerberus and are used to the ff7 sequels kind of flavor. And if you loved ff7 original, it is cool seeing some moments re-realized and some expanded on in nice ways. But if you dont like feeling time wasted, it may irk you at some points. If pacing is as big a deal to you as it is for me, this may be a grating issue.

Ff7 Rebirth though? Im about halfway through and i love it. I get why this chunk took until ps5 to come out. I dont like that it took so long sure. But i get the GOAL they had with this game, and they met the goal. I see everything the gane team learned from making kingdom hearts active combat, from open world in ff15 and kingdom hearts, in perfecting active combat with a slowdown to select actions (kh never slows down). I see an open world vastly busy and realistic sized while small enough it feels comparable to other great open world playstation games, levels/cities being 1-2 hours long like typical worlds/levels/cities in other games. So in short: Rebirth is NOT bloated. Its paced MUCH better. Its the best attempt ive seen square enix do of open world (but naybe ff16 is better as i need to play that too). The chocobos, boat, airplane, climbing, grappling hook, all do aa much as the ff7 ps1 in terms of FULL open world exploration, except the world is way richer now and its as fluid as modern games (like ghost of tsushima, tomb raider, kh3) to explore. Knowing how much SE struggled to develop jumping or open world basic lol, this is eons more than theyve ever been able to do before. And Rebirth doesnt fucking glitch! I played Fallout 4 open world and would save in fear constabtly cause i could get stuck walking in the ground or risking trying to climb a hill. In Rebirth ive went right into all kinds of weird terrain with cloud and many vehicles and havent gotten stuck OR glitched once. The whole game hasnt glitched once. It plays phenomenal. So the whole combat system is great, modern while still having more turn based action control than Kingdom Hearts and ability to control each party member uniquely, its open world is well paced and rich and fun and easy to maneuver, AND the game kept and increased the mini games! And the side missions are all integrated into building party member relationships so even boring missions have some nice relationship building moments at least. Meaning you can do side stuff you like, skip others. The game is very fast paced if you stick to main story. And its fun to sink into the world and side stories if u go off playing around. Rebirth feels like a phenomenal execution so far of what they really WANTED a final fantasy 7 redone to be like. Its clear during Remake they didnt know how to do full open world yet (or just wanted to pad with dungeons so much it felt so closed and forced often, i just HATE Remakes pacing tbh). In Rebirth it feels great. Its fun just exploring the world i remember from ps1 tbh. To drive in the desert, fly by cosmo canyon on the chocobo, boat into the ocean and fuck around.

ok so. continuing from my tags on my last rb i bought an imac g3 a very very long time ago. what i wanted to do with it is make a sleeper pc. a pc that looks like shit, but is a technological powerhouse inside. i really wanted to keep the CRT in it, but it might be damaged beyond safe use (you'll see). ive seen people mod them to have flatscreen displays and it just looks bad. i want that sweet curved screen. i want that gritty buzz. i also want it to run halo infinite and render 4k footage. you get me?

the seller originally didnt want to ship it. but i said i'd take responsibility for it. unfortunately they typo'ed my house number by one. this ordinarily wouldnt be an issue since i couldve just told my neighbour and got it from them, except my street is fucked up, and instead of my street having odd numbers on one side and even numbers on the other (that's common here), the odd numbers just stop after a while, and my house number is an even number beyond that point. so the courier deemed the parcel undeliverable. after back and forth, the seller managed to convince the courier to amend the address and try again.

when it arrived, the box audibly RATTLED. i was immediately heartbroken. and slightly terrified. those bitches contain CRTs. you know what happens when you damage a CRT? it implodes. this was already a concern i had due to what i wanted to do to it, but hearing it rattle really unnerved me because it could literally be a ticking timebomb. so i unwrapped it to see how bad it really was.

the plastic fascia was littered with chips and chunks off of it. thankfully all of the larger pieces were still in the box, but they didnt quite fit right as the edges of the plastic had crumbled and eroded away in rough handling. so i took all the visibly detached pieces off, picked it up and... it still rattled. a lot. there was at least two distinct large rattley parts inside. and to service this beast you basically have to discharge the CRT (a potentially deadly procedure from the electric shock risk alone, nevermind the potential for it to implode if you even slightly fuck up). and with it potentially damaged badly, i just never did it. i never touched it. to make matters worse, the shipping company refused to honour the insurance. since the insurance was paid on the "first" shipping attempt, and they never moved the insurance onto the second "new" label, they said it didnt count.

its still sat in my room. broken. in the box it arrived in. next to my bed. its been years. about 3 years. i havent powered it on (i knew it wasnt able to load mac os when i bought it but it at least booted to the sad mac so it wasnt a problem because ive fixed that kinda thing before. its usually a dead drive or a fucked os) since i dont want to risk shorting something irreplaceable or, again, imploding the CRT. i dont know how badly damaged it is internally, on a technical level. i dont know what's rattling inside it. i hope its not something that's doing more damage the more i leave it like that. i hope it's not a matter of time before the CRT gives the fuck out and detonates.

((Hey everybody. I haven’t been on here in over a month, so I’m gonna level with you guys here.

This past...well, this past month or so in particular, but really the past year-ish, maybe even longer than that, has been really, really rough for me. I’ve had a lot of shit happening with my family that’s left me pretty broken up. I’ve been fighting off bouts of depression and, as a result, my desire to partake in fandom and tumblr has been taking a pretty big hit. I’ve found a new series that’s really been helping me get through all this, and that’s a big part of what’s keeping me afloat right now, but unfortunately that also means my creativity relating to anything outside that new interest has kind of fallen by the wayside.

I have no intention of leaving the Undertale fandom forever or abandoning this ask blog, but as of right now this blog simply is not a priority for me and UT is definitely not my main fandom anymore. I do still enjoy Arial and have things I want to share with you guys, and I absolutely still appreciate all the questions and the enthusiasm you all have for it, but each ask takes me a lot of time and effort and honestly with the way the UT fandom at large treats its content creators (I’ve known of several that have been bullied off within the past year) and all the drama and bullshit I’ve had to go through here Undertale is a bit of a touchy spot for me at the moment. I just don’t have the energy for a whole lot right now, and I’ve kinda gotta prioritize my mental health and keeping myself from going under, and right now I think doing that means focusing on what’s making me happy in the moment and leaving this blog on the backburner.

I’m sorry, it really pains me to say this, but I’m not gonna lie to you all. I know I haven’t been the most regular with updates anyway, so I suppose it won’t really matter anyway.

At any rate, thanks for listening and for enjoying my blog. Whenever I do update, I hope you guys will like it. <3 ))

mostly tiny things. a while ago i went mad with power trying to create a subatomic scalemate. i dont really post about it much because i prefer to keep it a low stress activity for when im not feeling the drawing juices? also i super dont know how to take good photos but it is, like, an area of constant backscenes experimentation

in terms of style, i feel like definitely have zoned in on some "retro" aesthetics this year? mostly the funkiest parts of mid-century-mod, and some 90s radical cheese

ok fine ill elaborate. i think ive got a good sense of shape language and color, and have managed to put together some character designs that manage to be pretty versatile yet distinct?

but also, yes, neons go brrr. i have long enjoyed art that is, what some might call, Bad and Wrong. i think digital art gives me a lot of freedom to be Bad and Wrong in the color department, because- like little timmy on the playground with a laser pointer- the more able i am to wield the forces of light and directly beam eye searing colors directly into peoples eyeballs, the more my acidic soul is satisfied* *to the degree that i also understand people may have medical need to not engage with flashing lights and harsh eyestrain

i could probably talk more about violent and alienating art? i think it ties back into my appreciation of surreal gore and the grotesque, the need to make something that... almost hurts to look at. despite my roots in gore and body horror, my current art style has definitely slid over into something pretty cute and cartooney? which isnt really a bad thing! but it is something i think about sometimes

Some Kipo character-based thoughts

Scarlamange is most definitely going to have an arc or two in the future. I say two because I feel like just one in one season isn’t gonna be enough for him to be redeemed and more emotional stable. In my mind Kipo could go on for two more seasons before I see material getting stale.

Speaking of emotional stability I honestly believe Hugo and Wolf are the most emotionally damaged characters of the show.

Hugo was treated as a labrat, was respected/care for by only two people who he then thought couldve been dead only to realize they left without him, took it as a sign of rejection, has majoR abandonment issues and Im sure an identity crisis somewhere in there, and just lost his only other dream/passion which was monarchy. Dudes been through some shit and has been shown to be borderline manic in some ways. Yet he STILL seems to wish for some sort of companionship, especially with Kipo.

Ill never get over how he called Kipo “little sister”

God i want more bonding moments between Kipo and Hugo, even if he cant find himself completely loving Lio again, I want him to have a good relationship with Kipo ;;;v;;;

Wolf is our other emotionally scarred child. Seriously, the trauma of having a family raise you only to turn and try to kill you is rough. Like really rough. **and no one else knows** She’s literally living and dealing with the damage on her own. I feel like we’re gonna see her have a mental breakdown if she ever opens up to anyone about the trauma shes been through. The wiki says shes 10, which is soooo young omg I wanna hug her.

Speaking of Wolf, I have a personal headcannon that she never gave herself a name after she left her wolf pack. Whatever name they gave her is likely the only one shes ever known herself to be. Shes never given a name and seem fine being called Wolf and whatever else the co comes up with.

I also have no idea who Wolf skinned for her pelt but the idea of a girl less than 10 being able to kill, cook, eat, and make a goddamn pelt out of an animal is horrifying in its own right. I also feel like she wears the wolf pelt because she doesn’t have a whole lot of identity out of it. She was literally raised by wolves. It’s likely the only solid form of identity she was given. Makes me wonder if she’ll revamp herself at some point. She is very young. She’s likely going to change a lot over the course of her life

God i hope as a teen and adult Wolf is able to get therapy and be a much more relaxed and happy person.

If season 2 was any indicator Jamack might just show up for one episode and then just disappear again. In way it’s kind of fitting since he seems to just be floating along with life now that he’s not apart of the Mod Frogs.

Speaking of which. idk if he was there for the coronation but I feel like Jamack’s reaction to his former boss and colleagues being fucking dead HAS to be dead at some point. Like,,,, theres some more emotional baggage for him to deal with

Holy shit them being turned into statues like that was fucking brutal my dude. and the implications that Scarlemange was down to do it again potentially is sooo fucked. I havent gotten *that* kind of brutalness in a children’s show since when White Diamond pulled out Steven’s gem in CYM.

Seriously, its rated TV-Y7 on netflix.

Back on track, Jamack is totally Kipo’s uncle figure who just floats by every now again from whatever new thing he’s doing. Dude’s really interesting and I adore his attachment to Kipo and I really hope it’s explored more. Good lord Lio’s reaction to him could be comedy gold if played right.

TD:LR I want more Jamack content and more Kipo/Hugo bonding content. Also give Wolf therapy 2k20

Why didn’t Kipo just break down the wall in the final episode. Wouldn’t that be so much easier than tipping over the tree. Literally just,,, break a wall and let everyone out. I get it’s a drop down but it’s not like they were gonna be able to use the entrance they got in with anyways with the gold in the way. Just,,,, break the fucking wall next time.

Also, if Scarlemange’s plan did work out and he really was Emperor, it wouldn’t last for long. Ignoring his own personal baggage that could/would interfere, I simply doubt he understands what goes into running a functional society. Doubt they were giving him textbooks on civics and government to read while in the burrow. It wouldn’t have been long before some of the other gangs got pissed at him for something or being overthrown started being planned. I suppose it was better for him that it ended before it could start, because I’d hate to see the spiral he’d go on with that.

so first things first their parents. im gonna lay this out, the beta kids and trolls are all greek (EXCEPT sollux hes roman cause his parent has no greek equivalent), and all the alpha kids and trolls are those gods roman equivalents (,,EXCEPT dirk cause he kinda balances sollux being roman out). i havent figured out how thatd happen like 16+ times yet cause in the percy jackson books theres only ever been one instance of two siblings of the same godly descent being greek and roman respectively in HISTORY so like.. i guess th. i guess thats just not a problem in this au

anyway this gets really long so im gonna talk about the beta kids and trolls cause i havent elaborated on the alphas at all ((peep the tags if you wanna see their parents though))

johns the son of zeus, rose is the daughter of athena, dave is the son of apollo, and jade is the daughter of demeter. they were all raised in their respective states, all had to come to new york for various reasons. jades been there the longest, shes been there 9 years and shes been on a couple quests. her biggest accomplishment so far is how she protected the camp from this big vicious angry hellhound that got past the barrier. naturally the girls fluent in Dog Training, so she steps up and instead of trying to kill this thing, she reaches out and tames it as fast as she can. it ends up actually working, and ever since that day she, her cabin, and the camp have a whole bodyguard sleeping right outside the demeter cabin! hes her steed in battle and hes a Very Good Boy. and his name is becquerel

johns the newest kid at camp, he has no idea who he is or why the fuck his school got attacked or why in the hell those anemoi thuellai were so fixated on him or HOW in the hell he absorbed the lightning one threw at him and ended up fine,,, hes just a big mess right now. a big enough mess that when he got claimed by literally zeus, no one else was around, he shrugged it off as some basic magical happening, and he stayed in the hermes cabin far longer than he should have cause no one! fucking knew he got claimed! by zeus of all people! dumbass. he ends up figuring it out though. like an off-hand mention about how this “weird lightning thing appeared above my head a couple weeks ago, haha weird right?” once he figures it out he realizes “hey i might be able to fly” so he sneaks off into the woods to try it. he succeeds fairly quickly but god almighty everyones face the one day the dude just yote himself off a small cliff without warning,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

dave and rose are really tight, theyve been there roughly the same time length, and since their cabins are across from each other they just bother each other all the time. daves the resident Doctor even though he really doesnt look it cause hes got the apollo powers. apollo is the medicine god. so if you wound your stupid ass in battle daves in the ER room patching you up with his glowy hands. rose on the other hand is a very good strategist. shes one of the only athena kids ever recorded to actually have a power - telekinesis. she has no idea how she developed it, she thinks its from birth, but it freaks her out. shes training it though.

so the beta trolls, are also all human(ish). aradias hades kid. but i pulled a pjo trope on her based on one of my favorite characters (im not saying for spoilers, but if you recognize the situation, You Probably Know Who Its Based Off) and aradia died. her mom, the handmaid, had been pulling some Shady Ass Shit and ended up getting herself killed, but aradia tried saving her and ended up going down with her.

so handmaid gets sentenced to the fields of punishment in the underworld, and aradia gets sentenced to elysium, heroes paradise. shes like “no i want my mom to be okay” so they take that away from aradia and they put them both in the fields of asphodel, the neverending grey space for Not So Good But Not So Bad people. her mom becomes a shade (shadow spirit, no human resemblance), as all people do, but aradia. doesnt? and she gets dunked in the fucking river lethe and if you dont know what that does it erases your memory. so she just. comes out of the river like “hello? wgat tae fukc goin on??” but she still remembers one thing. there was an “a” in her name.

tavros is the son of hermes, hes just kinda taken on the role of backup counselor for when the actual cabin counselor is out. hes in a wheelchair, but he also has prosthetic legs for when he needs to actually stand up and fight. hes really good at it too. also catch him in winged converse cause he Owns Those and Uses Them To His Advantage. hes trying his best to keep focused on the camp, cause aradia was his childhood friend, he misses her a whole lot, she never got to camp in the first place. and to his knowledge, shes still dead.

sollux is a janus kid. thats a problem cause janus is roman, and this is a greek camp. he grew up with dave, he showed up with dave, hes been at camp as long as dave. but hes been unclaimed since he showed up so he thinks hes unwanted by whatever parent he has. he knows hes a demigod, he got through the camp barriers, so what the fuck is wrong with him? he also feels shitty cause hes shit at the greek lessons, he cant read a lick of it which literally every demigod without exception should be able to do, he cant name any gods- well, he can, but.. he gets their names mixed up. why does he keep calling poseidon “neptune”? and he has a much, much different way of natural fighting than other kids. they slice, he jabs. he wasnt taught to jab.

karkat is an aphrodite kid with vitiligo, and to make matters worse, hes ace and on the aro spectrum. to make matters WORSE, the aphrodite kids are kinda notorious for being really shallow, really materialistic, and really mean. karkats been dubbed the “runt” of the cabin, he gets made fun of for his spots to the point where he uses make up and magic to conceal them. worst of all? hes the kid of the goddess of love, for fucks sake. being reminded that “loveless people shouldnt be able to stay in this cabin, mom must have made a mistake claiming you” is kind of.. a blow to the self esteem. long story short he hates aphrodite for claiming him, and would have rather stayed in the hermes cabin. but he eventually goes on this big quest thats vague as fuck right now but Its The Main Plot, he ends up proving to himself that hes worth something and that his siblings are wrong, and my FAVORITE LINE IN THE WHOLE THING i came up with is HIS when he deals a final blow to some big monster: “REMEMBER MY FACE THE NEXT TIME YOU REINCARNATE. MY NAME IS KARKAT VANTAS, I’M THE SON OF APHRODITE, AND LOOKS CAN KILL.”

nepeta isnt anywhere near developed as others are unfortunately, shes a daughter of ares and shes really really good at hand to hand combat. shes small but she leads groups of people in things ranging from camp volleyball games to actual literal wars. shes a tough little shit

kanaya isnt really developed either, i have yet to figure out most of her powers too actually, shes a daughter of iris, the rainbow goddess though. (blatant reference to both kanayas vampirism and. h. her. sh. es ga. gay) ONE THING SHE CAN DO THOUGH is iris message at will without water or drachmas so really shes just everyones go to cell phone and its fucking hilarious cause people just come into the cabin like “KANAYA I NEED TO TALK TO [X]” and shes like “You Better Fucking Pay Me I Am Not Your Personal Cell Phone”

terezi is the daughter of nemesis and she has this really peculiar power she hasnt really gotten the hang of yet. she has synesthesia, so while she cant see she can smell and taste the colors of her surroundings and its really helpful. sometimes though she gets messages from her mom. they dont even come as dreams half the time, they come as almost a different plane altogether. tez has the power to literally tip the scales, pretty much. and when she gets like that, she can see. shes not on earth though, shit on earth stops when shes like that. shes just kinda In Her Own Head, i guess? and in her head she holds the two scales in her hands. she is the arms of the scale. and depending on which one she lifts up, she can literally alter the fate of the battle or happening thats going on By Herself. once she chooses she just whooshes back to real life though and nothing has changed. the only downside? it takes a LOT of energy and cant be exploited for little things. her one thing on her bucket list is to tap into said powers while getting something from a vending machine so like three things will fall out but it hasnt happened yet and shes upset

vriskas a daughter of tyche, the luck goddess, come the fuck on you knew i was gonna, i havent really elaborated on her either and im upset about that. but hey now you get a break from all those fucking paragraphs

equius is a hephaestus kid, and he kinda stays in the background. hes a range fighter, he spends a lot of time in the forge, and even though its been a project looooong since forgotten, hes been excavating the tunnels under cabin nine for years. by himself. he has no idea where they lead, but dammit hes gonna find out where. he has no idea about a certain bunker in the woods though...

gamzees just there for a fucking laugh tbh hes a son of dionysus and i love that cause hes the god of wine and parties and insanity. usually gamzees just zoning out somewhere hes Not supposed to be, and hes not affected by the maenads FUCKED UP BULLSHIT that goes down the forest sometimes. also hes so fucking scared of tavroses wing shoes he tried them on once while he was high and JESUS CHRIST

eridan is the son of kymopoleia, a SUPER obscure goddess. lets just say dont fuck with eridan cause his mom is the goddess of violent sea storms,

and naturally, feferi is the daughter of poseidon. cause who the FUCK else would she be the daughter of. WHO. NAME ONE GOD

Creep Ranks: The Dark Souls Trilogy

Because I finally beat all three of them.

Dark Souls 1: I got Prepare to Die like. When it first came out. I was terrible at it so I stopped playing. I beat the Taurus Demon and that was it. I didn’t start playing them again until quarantine when I decided to give it another shot as genuinely as I could. And I was terrible at them again. But instead of giving up I kept trying. Anyway, DS1 was a game I was always hesitant to play because I’m very bad at navigating large, sprawling, interconnected worlds. I am TERRIBLE at games like Castlevania and Metroid because of this so I don’t play them. I didn’t think I’d be able to handle the navigational stuff especially because you don’t get fast travel until midgame. But it wasn’t as hard as I thought. In fact, most of the game wasn’t as hard as I thought. Most of the difficulty of these games is in your head. Like sure, they’re difficult, but you get better and they’re not so scary. Anyway. I used NPC summons a lot because I wasn’t very good at handling bosses on my own (O&S anyone?). Sen’s Fortress and whatever the area before Seath is called with the invisible platforms were horrible and I hated them. I DID them, but I hated them. Those bits in Anor Londo too. You know the ones probably. The amount of thin platforms you have to navigate in this game was more than it needed to be. The HUD is also very ugly. I really liked the game though and decided I wanted to play the others. I initially skipped 2 and went straight to 3, beat 3, then went back to 2. As you do. Anyway DS1 is a great game and if you’re interested try it. I hear the remaster sucks but its the only one you can buy now. Weirdly the switch version of the remaster uses the old graphics, which are better because the lighting is better. Do with that what you will.

Dark Souls 2: I got Scholar of the First Sin, again, around the time it launched. Again. Horrible at it. Got no where. Gave up. At the time of writing this I have not yet done the DLC. I should mention I didn’t do the DLC in 1 either, but started NG+ before doing it so I’d probably have to restart… whatever. DS2 is… I don’t think I can say anything that hasn’t been said before. Mechanically this game just is not very good. I played this AFTER 3, so it felt shockingly easy by comparison. You are showered in souls, levels are insanely cheap, bosses are incredibly slow. Most of the bosses I beat w/o summons, (and none of them took me more than 3 tries...and I SUCK at these games) although I used them for Watcher and Defender because that boss was kinda lame. The final boss was… Yeah. Maybe the DLC has better bosses and I’ll see later. The lock on in this game is broken. Even if you lock on in a 1v1, once you kill them, chances are it’ll zip to an enemy above you that hasn’t seen you yet. This happened more than once. It also tends to favor enemies behind you over ones in front of you regardless of how close they are. If not for all of the weird mechanical hang ups, this game would be the easiest in the franchise. It still is if you can get over them. I installed a mod to make the weapons not degrade twice as fast but I don’t think it worked because they still seemed to degrade incredibly fast. Can’t say for sure. Also there are so many dudes in any given area which I think was done to encourage you to kill them over and over until they stop spawning but that’s also kinda dumb. I don’t know. If you didn’t play 1 or 3 you might not notice some of this. Or maybe you’ll find it even worse. ADP controlling your i-frames while dodging and how fast you drink estus was a bad choice. I probably didn’t hate this game, but I found it to be the weakest. This game got rid of leveling up at any bonfire which also sucks. Wish DS3 hadn’t kept that but oh well. Losing part of your max HP when you die was bad and feels like it only exists to punish new players. But going hollow doesn’t prevent invasions? This game felt like it had a LOT of NPC invasions too. Maybe 1 and 3 do too but I didn’t spend a lot of time human. Hm.

Dark Souls 3: Not long after beating 1, I got this game. It’s the Dark Souls of Dark Souls games. Okay maybe it’s not that bad, but the jump (for me) to 60fps made everything much, much faster. And smoother. Going from PtDE to DS3 is like. Wow. Anyway everyone in this game is incredibly fast and hates you and wants you to die. It also had to wean me off of using NPC summons. Because I didn’t do one of the quest lines, I missed out on summons. So I was forced to just git gud. Lorian and Lothric were very difficult. I found Soul of Cinder to be hard too but I think people disagree with that (I couldn’t summon for either of those bosses so it was just me improving til I won). At the time of writing this I beat the first DLC (streamed beating Sister Freide, that was fun :) ), and started going through the other. Beat Dancer on my first try which I am still very proud of, and the consumed king in two. Did not yet beat Nameless King but I probably will. I think I had the most fun with this one because I was used to the souls formula by now and understood what to expect from things. However, in terms of exploration, this game is the weakest. It’s incredibly linear compared to 1 and even 2. That didn’t bother me because my favorite part is the combat, but I know a lot of people think this game was too boss focused. I dunno. 3 might be my favorite of them all. It certainly has the best looking HUD of the trilogy.

TL;DR: DS1 - Most exploration, some difficult navigational things caused by the environment and not just enemies. Bosses hit hard but GENERALLY weren’t overly fast (but I havent played the remaster) 8/10 DS2: Less exploration, but fast travel from the start. Fewer instances of dangerous walking but a few miserable sections overloaded with dudes. And poison statues. Bosses are slow and it’s easy to upgrade your weapons and yourself. Could be a good place to start if not for all the mechanical jank. 6/10 DS3: The least amount of exploration probably. Fast travel from the start. I can’t remember any sections with pits and dangerous walking. Enemies are incredibly fast and dangerous. Most bosses are incredibly fast too. 9/10

everything is fine for a while. it has been a WILD ride for sure and yeah I haven't even started up any of the dlc yet! theres so much content!! ive been practicing playing as the other bros during medium-hard combat which has kept it feeling really fresh too. also its hilarious just blasting bad guys with a bazooka while the other people are in there swinging around swords and knives. and i haven't done any of the crossover quests yet, which seem big and exciting!

ill be forever sad that i missed the assassins festival but theres definitely plenty to do that I'm excited for. and im getting really into the fishing!! charmed is definitely the right word like..its not perfect at all but this game is so genuinely endearing with its characters personalites and development and its themes and music as well and it really does some things SO well.

hell yeah pc is royal edition with a bunch of other shit and the dlcs (bar ardyn) incorporated, dont worry, also i would die for that one cindy in a decent outfit mod i know the exact one youre on about LOL (also i can recommend you some other mods if u like!!)

if i can share some knowledge with you right quick cuz i had the same problem and wouldve died to have someone tell me i went from barely 20fps on a good day to being able to run multiple programs with ffxv in the background; specialk is a very quick install and majorly helped with multithreading; otherwise for the in game options are using low resolution texture pack (assets option); shadows look near visually identical on the lowest option compared to the highest; all nvidia effects can be turned off with no significant graphic change; turning off anti aliasing entirely genuinely makes the game look better for me; i can post my full settings if itll help you and ive also read through a few tutorials for modding around lag so i can try and help you with that, i do get pretty major lag spikes though and frequently find it near impossible to stream/record, but i manage to nail that 60fps on average if im solely running ffxv with a few cut corners like those

also dont blame you with altissia, ngl i boiled through the story rollercoaster right quick after exploring most of the open world before even touching altissia and ended up ignoring all postgame content for starting a new save immediately and replaying just to get that hangout time in the open world that wasnt just go-back-in-time-through-magic-dog. but i feel you so hard dude i just want more of them chilling. literally i have 300 hours in this game already and i know half of those have been using the car listening to tunes LMFAO

yeah the crossover quests are funnn the one with terra wars is sweet and the ffxiv one is SO funny its literally hysterical i was roaring with laughter a couple times!!! and good on you practising i didnt touch any of the extended combat until my third save and yeah honestly if you want to do the postgame menaces those skillsll come in useful, its funny because the maingame bosses arent that hard but the postgame is mental. but yeah i love blowing shit up with proms bazooka it fucking rules nerds can keep their swords

honestly so much of this game for me is literally just booting it to go hang with the guys its really relaxing lmfaooo... hiking around with these goofy dudes. sometimes i just wanna chill with the anime boys. YEAH literally its sweet and charming and then fucking heartbreaking and even though the writing is hammy as hell im honestly so willing to forgive it. not only for the clear amount of care and love that went into specifically building the guys relationship (which anyone knows is the best and most realised part of the game) but the details and amount of lore you can uncover if you take a step and interpret a little. maybe thats too generous a statement for what was an executive nightmare and critically underdeveloped but i grew up on ffxiii and knowing the versus 13 lore and that ffxv was part of that extended canon im satisfied with it being another side to that story and running with that. i think supplemented with its additional content years after release ffxv isnt a complete experience but enough of one to leave an impact or at least it did majorly for me! ive been obsessed.

OMG sorry im nerding too its all good lol just genuinely i love this game and its hard to find people talking about it these days but i really had such a good time and still am continuing to and i love it fuck it ball hard

peach: how do you relax? sometimes i fight nazis. thats a nice way to vent steam. petting dogs or cats or birds or literally any other animal is a winner every time. making food is a good because its constructive and at the end i get food. sometimes steve and i go running. but not early in the morning because mornings are terrible.

coffee: favorite cosmetic brands? i dont wear much makeup but pepper breaks out some sephora stuff when we have to go on tv? i like OPI nail polish.

moose tracks: favorites for manga? orange sherbet: favorites for anime? i read fullmetal alchemist.and then watched the anime. all of it. it was really good, although i feel like clint only showed it to me because of the robot arm thing. its the only manga or anime ive experienced so far, but i really liked it!

blueberry lemon: favorite blogs? i love @iguanamouth‘s crazy animals, and i follow a couple knitting blogs, as well as @dailybadjokes, just so i have some really terrible puns to use when nat breaks out her dad jokes.

superman: do you like sweaters? do i like sweaters. friend, i live in sweaters. i haveta knit em special though so they dont have a left sleeve because otherwise the plates in my arm catch on the knit.

blackberry: have you ever laughed so hard you cried? yes. the first time steve tried out the vibranium shield he missed the rebound and hit himself in the head with the flat side. he flew a good six feet through the air, knocked himself clean out. it was beautiful. i was crying. howard fell over, he was laughing so hard.

cherry: do you drink tea or coffee? yes. it is how i am alive.

raspberry truffle: favorite kind of music? i have a hard time with this one because im still learning so much about modern music. me and thor like listening to heavy metal, and i like tonys classic rock n’ roll, but im also really fond of the music of the 30s and 40s, the stuff i grew up with.

praline: a popular book you haven’t read yet? i havent gotten to game of thrones yet. people keep telling me such and such a character is gonna die, but im not sure how they can have that many dead characters and still have enough people for a book.

I also have a mated pair of domestic Violet Ringneck doves named Vexation and Vendetta who live in my bedroom, though I’ll be building them an outdoor coop to vacation to in the summer. there were some really solid discounts at best buy for labors day so i decided to treat myself to an early bday present and i ordered a gaming pc !! i want to give my laptop a break because i can tell its starting to feel a little old (even though its supposed to be super good so 6 years probably shouldnt have worn it out as much as it did but i havent been taking care of it as well as i probably should have) and i dont want to have to buy another one until i go back to college full-time at the very least. my main issue with it is that the keyboard is only half functional for some reason so i bought a separate one for when i wanna type a lot and it seems a bit ridiculous to have a separate keyboard for a laptop (like, just get a desktop computer at this rate u know), nevermind the fact that my general set up has been less than ideal for months. i had everything out in the living room instead of on my desk in my room since pretty much the pandemic started, because of the pandemic but also because shit happened so i couldnt stand to be over there and needed to be in an environment where i could easily shift my attention between many different things so my brain was never too idle. i got two monitors for this pc so now i’ll be able to have the equivalent of laptop + tv simultaneously except i wont be crouched over a coffee table for hours on end and will actually be sitting in a proper chair. its also gonna give me an excuse to clean out my desk and finally decide what to do with all the stuff thats on it that ive been avoiding looking at. and of course bc it’ll be an actual powerful computer i’ll be able to play pc games and emulate more recent console games and maybe even try modding... on top of the practicality and order its gonna bring into my life its also gonna open up the door for a whole new hobby and i think its gonna be a really good thing !! im very happy with this purchase. its so weird but having my main computer in my room vs in the living room makes for such a different lifestyle and i anticipate that i am gonna miss the comfort of the living room (theres nothing quite like falling asleep on the couch while chatting w friends or watching movies) but i know its the next step for healthy change
