anyway every time i listen to this song all i can fucking think of is vox wrapping a strong hand around your bicep so fucking tightly his claws pierce your flesh, blood instantly oozing from the punctures to streak your skin with sticky crimson streams, and yanking you to your feet as he growls out that you need a talking to, low and dark and spit through gritted teeth against the curve of your ear. it’s so caustic it stings, has your face screwing up in a wince and water blurring your vision, a gasp stuttering painfully in your chest.
it is not only a warning, it’s a promise—a vow of what’s to come, the punishment that will inevitably follow his stern words, infusing his tone.
then he’s shoving you forward with such force that you nearly trip over your own toes, rubber skidding against tile, only to have his firm grip hoisting you back up again with a cruel get fucking moving.
I'm absolutely floored by Maisie's ability to address the fact that women are not the problem in such a poetic way. In History of Man when she's talking about the consistency throughout history of women being blamed for shit with "Samson blamed Delilah, but given half the chance, I would have made him weaker, too." And obviously the classic example, "The men start wars, yet Troy hates Helen." And here she is with "Yoko never broke up that band."
We have Wendy, a song where she actively tried to rewrite a narrative, but at the end of the day, it still has the same result because it goes, "I'll lock the window and turn on the AC, you'll throw your rocks and you'll scream that you hate me."
Which, again, brings us back to "I've tried to rewrite it, but I can't." You can never change the fact that women are always going to be held responsible, even when it's not their fault.
And honestly, she might not be able to rewrite this narrative, but she can sure as shit make sure the stories are getting told.
"no one actually cares about the spotify links you post" wrong. i do. i mean it when i say i listen to at least half of the songs people put on my dash. a solid amount of my music i find through random hyperlinks or, preferably, a dramatic text post that uses smalltext.io liberally. i will even google randomly posted lyrics to find out which song it's from and then listen to it attentively and put it in a playlist if i like it. dont know whose god complex this is going to feed but i need to put this out there
loving you was easy, that's why it hurts now. the worst way to love somebody is to watch them love somebody else and it work out. now, i can't help thinking that she's got a better body; has she got a body better than mine?
jurassic World dominion said here is a movie with dinosaurs and also romance, established drama-free relationships, found family, and the MOST satisfying relationship payoff in cinema history and i think that's very sexy of them
he stole her youth and promised heaven
