explanation - Aside from the obvious reasons, I feel like it's not really talked about how damaging it would be to have Voldemort as your father. (or brother or any relative for that matter). To me, this song screams the rage of a person who's been judged their whole life for being a bad person, so they became a bad person. (I am what I am cause you trained me). Other students, most wizards, professors even, all look at mattheo like he's a bomb that's waiting to explode and it makes him really sad when he's a kid, but then when he grows up it just makes him angry. They should be afraid.

mattheo w/his partner - Now, with a partner, I firmly believe that he'd be closer to them than anyone. His partner would be the first person that actually tried to understand him and understand why he's as angry as he is all the time. mattheo really opens up to his partner and tells them about bouncing around orphanages after his mother got thrown into Azkaban for a few years and then going to live with the Malfoys where draco's father treated him like a bad seed that was poisoning his son even though he was doing that to draco himself. so mattheo really treasures the bond he has with his partner because they're the only ones that understand him and understand that he never wanted to become the dark lord's son, he just wanted to be mattheo but the world has made that impossible for him.

explanation - later in life draco feels completely betrayed by his father. he really admired him and looked up to him as a kid (his parents made sure that he knew how important it was to be a Malfoy), but his father abused that admiration and now draco resents allowing him to manipulate him like that. draco felt incredibly robbed that his father didn't get sent to prison following the battle of hogwarts. he didn't wish to cause his mother any hardship, but secretly he was hoping that the defeat of voldemort would be his golden ticket to finally escape his father's dark shadow. also, i like to think that after harry potter defeated voldemort, draco never spoke to his father ever again. he still exchanges the occasional owl with his mother but he doesn't ever want to see his father again.

draco w/ his partner - draco's partner is someone who he can break down with. after years of being forced to mask his emotions under a cool facade, he's able to fall apart in his partner's arms and know that they won't judge him. they're one of only a few people that know that draco isn't just upset with his father because of his actions. he was upset because he felt like he'd been lied to his entire life and just wanted an explanation. later in life, draco feels incredibly self conscious about a lot of his earlier 'achievements' and if his father only doted on him as a child because he was raising him to be the dark lord's lackey. ultimately, draco really appreciates having someone to confide in, and the upbringing from his parents really makes him appreciate the way that you care for him without any strings or conditions attached.

explanation - after the death of his mother, theo is obviously shaken up. he's actually quite fucked up for pretty much forever. he tries to pack all of his emotions inside and drown them out with drugs and alcohol. when he gets drunk, he doesn't have to deal with his mother not being here anymore. that's why it's not all that surprising when he starts hanging around with the children of death eaters. it is a surprise to him however when he returns to italy to visit his grandmother and she wants nothing to do with him.

theo w/his partner - theo and his partner give enemies to lovers (wild since I dont think i've ever written theo like that) but i firmly believe that he hates his partner in the beginning. why? theo's partner reminds him of his mother. their personality, their soft smile. it's all very reminiscent of his mother and he fucking hates it. At first. He doesn't like the way that being around you brings out the old theo. he doesn't want to lose you in fear that it'll feel like losing his mom all over again. but when theo finally does give into his feelings for you, he starts to cherish the ways that you remind him of his mother (and of course the ways that you don't). he often tells you about how he and his mother dreamed of escaping his father but were never able to.

lorenzo berskhire as Fortnight

explanation - lorenzo spends his whole life desperately trying to escape his family. (i think he'd actually be one of the slytherins that fought against the death eaters in the battle of hogwarts). i think that lorenzo would have run away from home multiple times as a child just trying to escape and get some sense of normalcy. but i don't think that it ever would've lasted any longer than a day or two at most before he was found and brought back home (where his uncle was all too happy to try and beat lessons into him). because of this though, lorenzo would be the kind of person who's always trying to protect others.

lorenzo w/ his partner - because lorenzo is always trying to protect you and knows that his family would ruin you just to get at his emotions, when the death eaters take control of the ministry, he breaks up with you. he actually stays away from you for years following the war as well. all he has are his memories of his brief but happy moments with you. his love for you haunts him for this entire time. and then, he runs into you one day in diagon alley. it's a little awkward at first but the two of you actually rekindle the love that you once had and this time, he's all in.

Barking, Meowing, Clawing for Elriel: The Why of it All.

I saw a criticism recently that Elriel's are horny little weirdo's who are largely obsessed with the idea that Azriel is an absolute sheet freak, and for some reason, we are only able to see that being the case with Elain. And to that I would like to say: Your Honor, frankly, you are not wrong. Obviously there is *a lot* more to it than that, and the lore of their four books of sweet softness and connection and friendship that developed into absolute down bad angsty pining. But yeah, the freakiness of it all is certainly a big draw. And I don't believe that is a point I should deny or argue.

But I ask thee- what am I to do with THIS:

Emperor Sarah Julius Maas herself created this Roman Empire within me by literally going on camera in front of the whole ass internet and SWEATING just thinking about how hot and kinky Azriel is in bed. It is important to note that this question came after Stephanie (@ideallyinspiredreviews) asked whether or not Tarquin was vanilla or a freak, and Sarah had a hard time answering because she hadn't really thought about it yet. But Azriel? Yes. Immediately yes.

Then a year after after Sarah confirmed Azriel is 100% the kind of man who would choose death by kitty suffocation if it was presented to him, it dropped that ELAIN'S kitty is the one he wanted to suffocate on:

Personally, I think it is hot as hell that Azriel only needed to put a necklace on her, or look at the present she had made for him that he keeps on his nightstand to get so horny that he can't control himself. You can judge it all you want, but Sarah MADE me this way, as the Iron Teeth Matrons made the Thirteen as they were. I cannot be held responsible!

Mother gave us homework, and all I tried to do was understand the assignment so I can ace all my tests. If you want to drag me for being a little good girl rule follower with a praise kink, then drag me to hell for it. You know what? I probably deserve it. But I am simply working with what the author gave me. If and when she presents new information, I will certainly meow for that as well. But at the moment- this is the monster that I was turned into. And I will keep *barking* until I am instructed to stop.

I might not be able to put this the right way, and maybe others have said this already,

but to me, the main thing about Cloud and Aerith is the way he tries to grow for her and because of her.

In a way, they could be quite similar. Both are incredibly lonely, and they share similar trauma. Both have lost their mothers in tragic, malicious ways. Both are confused about their identity and past. Cloud learns how much just he has forgotten and that something is very wrong with him, just like Aerith keeps finding out how little she actually knows about her ancestry or the circumstances of her mother's death.

Cloud and Aerith both realize this and are able to sympathize with one another. Aerith is incredibly patient with Cloud and him trying to uphold the walls he built around himself at all times.

I think Cloud knows there is a fundamental difference about them, though. And, that is that despite everything that has happened while Cloud has been putting up walls and has become hardened, Aerith has not. While Cloud looks to the past, is angered, shut off, and distant, Aerith has gone the opposite route. She remained soft and hopeful. It's not to say she isn't sad or lonely or angry, which she is, but she isn't faulting the world for this. She wants things to get better, instead of wanting revenge.

Generally, I think there are relationships that make you look to the past or to the future and I don't think there's right or wrong in that if it isn't too extreme.

But I think Aerith makes Cloud look into the future. I think he's always been either checked out about looking either way, or obsessed with the past, about what happened and how to mend it.

Aerith makes him believe in a future because she has been through similar things and she has come out on the other side hopeful. Because she is still good to people and because she still loves, she still cares. And I think this makes Cloud want to grow, too.

And he's showing this in some of Aerith's darkest moments. When she acknowledges her dark thoughts on the beach, he reacts with understanding, and he helps her going forward, supporting her when he can (even without the obligatory merc fee). He encourages her to speak out about her past at the lantern festival. I think as someone being taken in by a stranger as a child, essentially putting her guardian's life at risk and bringing heavy baggage along, she learned to have to be pleasant at all times to be loved. Through Cloud, she learns that this other side of her, the one that is struggling with embracing her difficult past and path forward, is also worthy of love and protection. She says to him on the beach, she is sure, he will love future Aerith, the one she is growing into right at that moment - she, too, is changing because of him.

These moments show he really wants to be there for her the same way she is there for him. He wants to make her happy and support her. He wants to protect her while she protects the world. He feels responsible for her, and it's a role he wants to grow into, and he does.

In a way, Clouds world just gets a lot bigger while Aerith is in it. When she is there, he actually laughs, he smiles like he does with no one else, and finally, he even cries holding her in his arms, when he was on the cusp of being turned into an emotionless weapon just moments before.

This, in turn, makes Aerith open up to him in a way she doesn't do with the others, too. They both see a side of the other person nobody else gets to see.

I think this is amplified in the ending when Cloud is literally the only person who knows what happened to her, that witnessed her death and who's able to see her afterward.

Sure! Sorry for the long wait, I wasn't sure what direction to take this so this is me thinking of small scenarios.

Pairing: Platonic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Female Darling, Obsession, Overprotective behavior, Manipulation, Fear of Loss, Clingy behavior, Jealousy, Slight stalking, Hellicopter brother, Dubious companionship.

I like to imagine maybe you're the younger sister of Hiccup or are similar in age.

You've been raised alongside your brother and father, believing your mother is dead.

Your father is naturally overprotective of you, which probably makes Hiccup overprotective of you.

Ever since the "death" of your mother, Hiccup has been taught to watch over you.

This overprotective behavior is no doubt why later in life you don't get a dragon for awhile.

Platonic! Hiccup is no doubt just him being a helicopter brother to you.

Hiccup seems like the type to worry about every little thing when it comes to his sister's safety.

For example, he'd fuss over your protective gear before you eventually ride a dragon.

He'd want to pick a dragon he knows can protect you rather than one you want.

He's a bit paranoid when it comes to you.

However... he's still a brother.

He tries to support you, he even takes you on rides with Toothless if he knows Toothless will be gentle.

He often has Toothless help train your dragon so Hiccup knows they're safe.

Even when you both find out your mom is alive, Hiccup doesn't relent.

In fact, he even tells your mom how well he protected you.

His worries only get worse when your father dies, anyways....

You just know Hiccup is one of those overprotective brothers who judges who you're around.

He's no doubt used to when you both played together as kids.

That and he just... wants to make sure your friends and potential partners are safe.

I feel Hiccup wouldn't isolate you... but he'd insert himself into your conversations.

He makes it clear to people that he's looking out for you.

Much to your dismay.

He's naive to the fact you may not like him around all the time.

He's so used to betrayal and playing protector that he forgets he's supposed to let you be independent.

To him, he feels he'll always be part of your life.

It hurts him when you try and push him way.

You're not kids anymore.

He seems to have trouble understanding that.

He gets a bit jealous when you have a life of your own, speaking with friends and maybe even finding a partner.

He tries his best to bottle it for you, to have you happy.

But he can't help but have Toothless follow you or one of his other friends check in on you.

There's times he has to hold back on telling off those around you... seeing them as "bad influences".

He probably means well... yet at some point he should learn that he has to let you go.

A platonic yandere Hiccup would focus more on his sister's safety than her happiness.

He feel you're happiest with him.

Which makes him threaten and judge your social circle.

You can tell him off, yet he may just ignore you.

In his eyes, you're his sister... he's your protector and you should rely on him.

Which unfortunately just drives you apart... making him try harder... which causes more harm than good.

Sure, you two originally got along.

You originally did everything together.

Hiccup is so used to that, so deep in his delusions... That he may socially isolate you on accident.

However, to him? It doesn't matter too much...

He'll promise to be the best for you as your brother... just please stop ignoring him...!

Arei; One of the people to find David. Pretty terrified, as she did feel bad for him. She also seems to have gotten into a disagreement with Eden, so spends a lot more time with J

???; Ever since she ran away from the meal, her location has been unknown. (Yes, she's alive and not dying.) Apart from Whit, nobody really cares, as they're more focused on David and Arturo.

David; Second worst mental health in the cast, after Arturo. He wouldn't do anything to himself if it threatened his life, but if given the opportunity by someone else...

Eden; The stress of the situation is really getting to her. She seems to be losing her patience with people..

Hu; She still just wants to help everyone, no matter what. Extremely worried about Nico, as she saw them as her family.

J; Doesn't care about Arturo, but worried about Nico. Still can't seem to get over what happened with Veronika.

Levi; Also wants to help, but isn't doing as well as Hu. She isn't particularly worried as she finds it difficult to understand his own emotion

Min; Just trying to distract herself, it's all she has

Nico; Terrified for their life. Constantly hiding, only leaves to get food or a bathroom. They want to stay away from Arturo.

Rose; Tries to sleep a lot of the time. She's been spending time with Levi and Min in hopes that they can create a friendship out of the situation.

Teruko; Her luck seems to have gotten her into a lot of bad situations. Doesn't regret staying here, as even now at least she has her own room and fresh food.

Whit; Trying to stay very positive, but it's difficult when his partner has completely gone missing.

Will's OC Fen

Fen is a crow. But he does not act like one, having grown up among the foxes of the forest. All his life, he has had to keep his identity a secret. For obvious reasons, Fen does not let too much of himself be known. What he does show is an understanding nature ,and a knack for bringing out the best in others. Storyteller, a good fighter, tracker, and cook, he is skilled in many arts, though you’d never know that from the way he stays humble and modest. He values friendship, and will support those he trust.

Katie's OC Daedryn

Daedryn is a lady knight with one eye and red hair. She's the divine Chosen of Loqang, god of rivers and loyalty. Due to this, she is fiercely loyal to whatever person or organization she has promised herself to, to the point of following orders for orders sake. Outside of battle, where she is a force to be reckoned with, she's very sweet, a little awkward, and loves to talk about her god, who she sees as her best friend.

My OC Lexi

Lexi is a middle school girl (12-13 in the first book) who's popular, talkative and energetic. She has more acquaintances than she can keep up with (but don't tell her that!!! They're all her close friends who she must hang out with and support!!), and a close circle of companions she may hold on a little too tight to. Metaphorically, as her haphephobia prevents her from wanting physical contact. She has a mini backyard garden and indulges in nerdy pop culture, at first for her sister, then she found out she liked it. Lexi is very organized - she has a color-coded schedule she Will Follow No Matter What and her high anxiety will flare up if things become unexpected.

Edit: I forgot to mention she has teleportation powers because I got distracted trying to be concise

Lexi and Fen

Well, Lexi does not have experience with sentient crows. Not sure if Fen talks to humans or not. If Lexi were to discover his identity, she might find it difficult to keep it a secret, but would feel like she Had To regardless, out of loyalty and being true to her word. Fen's knack for bringing out the best in others would definitely highlight Lexi's compassion and love for those around her, as well as the aforementioned loyalty. His humility and modesty would be a fun contrast to Lexi's self-confidence, which means she would try to make him embrace his accomplishments more, and maybe Fen would open up to her more once he trusted her. Their shared value of friendship and supportive nature would make them good friends I think. Who doesn't love the classic young girl + sentient animal dynamic?

Lexi and Daedryn

As someone who also values loyalty and is respectful of superiors, Lexi would probably idolize Daedryn. Lexi also has trouble recognizing faults in those she values, so I believe they would understand each other. I would like to see Daedryn maybe take Lexi under her wing, making her a force to be reckoned with as well. Lexi is an enthusiastic learner. Lexi would be willing to listen about Daedryn's god, especially why he means so much to her, though Lexi would also be very excited to talk about her friends too! There may be some talking over each other, but I think they would have a cute dynamic.

Pairings: Boxer!Jungkook x fem!reader || Enemies to lovers, neighbors

Warnings: fuckboy!Jungkook x reader, smut, dirty talk, curse, mention of tarot and fate

Summary: Jungkook had always been carefree when it came to love. He always believed he was worth sharing himself with everyone, and thought it was selfish of him to ever think of keeping himself exclusive to just one person.

And maybe that was exactly what got him into the big problem he was in.

A curse that kept him away from love didn't seem an issue for him. The fact that his ex-girlfriend thought he'd be affected by the idea of the girls he slept with running away from him after sex was ridiculous. She actually did him a favor, and took a burden away from him.

At least that was what he thought at first.

He had never found himself thinking of the possibility of repeating with neither of his hook ups, because they disappeared before he was able to even think about it. But when he makes the mistake of sleeping with the sexy neighbor that lives in front of him, he finds himself hoping to get the chance for a second round every time their paths cross.

Y/n hated him the second he set foot inside the building by the way he started making her life a miserable mess for no reason. Sleeping with him was a big mistake she wasn't thinking of repeating. At least not until he came up with the excuse that she rejected him for a curse. Not only she thought he was annoying, but she was also convinced he was crazy.

There was no way she could take him seriously.

The doorbell rang hysterically, as Jungkook kept clicking on it until the door opened in front of him. Mrs. Anderson opened the door, sighing out of exhaustion when she recognised the young boy who hopefully waited by her door, lighting up a smile as soon as he saw her.

—You again? I thought I got rid of you —she sighed.

It had been almost a month since the last time he showed up there, which actually surprised her, considering he tended to visit her at least twice a month to get his bi-weekly checks and celebrations as soon as the cards remained the same.

Except for the last time. His reaction was one she would've expected. Someone that celebrated being cursed from love couldn't be happy about that same curse coming to an end. But there he was, stepping inside her house, walking his way to the spot he knew so well, and taking a seat before she could even offer him one.

—Your fate won't change by sitting a second earlier, boy —she called him out, walking past him to take the seat in front of him—. Thought you said you'd come back two weeks ago.

It was what they agreed on, but his mind had been so busy that he didn't even remember. And then he thought about how he had been so into bickering with Y/n, or daydreaming about her being wrapped around him that he completely forgot about the last reading he got, and how it talked about the exact thing he was going through.

—Don't cross your legs and hands, focus your energy on what you want the cards to tell you about. And take it easy. Not because you're faster, the reading will change its meaning.

The reading started as usual.

She shuffled the cards, looking into his eyes from time to time. The first few times it made him uncomfortable, because he didn't quite understand why she did it. But it only took him three sessions to ask her, and be told that his eyes were a bridge to his soul and his experiences for her. It was her way to connect with him on a deeper level, to make the most out of each reading.

She planted the cards slowly, one by one, in front of him. Ignoring the way he seemed eager to hear the interpretation she got out of them. A few hums, eyebrows slightly frowned, and the twist of lips made him even nervous about what meaning they could have.

—The curse is still there —she let him know—. It's still strong, and it's keeping you from reaching your full potential. But there's something curious here —she pointed to one of the cards, getting his attention—. It's the first time the Justice card shows up whenever asked about this topic.

—And what does it mean?

—It seems like the curse is like a karmic punishment —she frowned—. I don't know what you did to that girl, but she wants you to suffer. She wants your heart to hurt as if it was ripped out of your body. You have a lot of unsolved issues, and this little problem might get you to want to solve all of them.

—Karmic punishment?

That definitely sounded like something awful, he could tell.

—Where's the fun part where I don't fall in love with anyone at all, and I just live my life?

—I told you the first time you showed up here that the curse wasn't something you should enjoy —she warned him—. I told you to be prepared. And now I can tell you'll definitely need to be really strong mentally to get through the karma that will come with it. Hmm.

The way her eyebrows raised, and her fingers fell on the cards to him hopefully looking back at her.

—Hmm? Hmm? What hmm?

—The Empress again. There's someone really powerful messing with your head, isn't it?

Jungkook omitted the scoff that was about to come out of his lips. Y/n was an average journalist, obsessed with illegal fights because they were her only trip out of lame reports. He wouldn't really consider her a powerful person. At least not in the strict meaning of the word.

It could be that she didn't mean Y/n. Could be that woman he was waiting for didn't cross paths with him yet.

—She isn't in my life yet, right?

—Oh no, she is —she quickly nodded—. I talked in present tense. She is messing with your head. Messing, right now —she explained slowly.

—But maybe she's messing because it's making me anxious to think about her in my life —he still tried to turn her words upside down.

—No, she is in your life. Now. Present. She's been face to face with you, she knows you and you know her —she explained, exhausted—. She is a real person, walking calmly in your life, and making you delusional about her not showing up. She is here —she lifted the card—, and there —she pointed with her other hand at his head.

His heart started beating fast as he tried to find an explanation as to how all of that happened. And then it clicked.

—You said I'd meet her through work.

—No, I said the connection will be made through some work you do —she explained, starting to get annoyed at his denial—. And it shows up here again: whatever pushes you to change, it'll be through some work you'll do together.

Out of all those people, of course it had to be Y/n. He met her when he was going through some big changes, and what's a bigger change than moving out somewhere else?

—And what if I don't do that work?

—Do you really think you'll be able to escape what the universe has planned for you? Okay, try it —she sighed— It has never worked for anyone. And it certainly won't work for you. But yeah, try it —she left the card she was holding back on the table—. Look, son, I think you are a good person. You might seem annoying and full of yourself, but I sense that kindness and good aura you let out as you walk into a room. It doesn't change the fact that you've done some things that have hurt people, and you might need to make up for those mistakes. You can run from them, you can slow down the process, but it'll get to you. If it's not in a few days, it'll be in a few years. It's a work we all need to do.

—It's not a choice to depart from this world without solving them?

—No —she seriously answered—. You can't —she looked at him, staring into his soul, before she continued speaking—. You do want to fall in love. I can tell. Your eyes speak louder than your words. You kept celebrating that curse, but your eyes showed disappointment every time I told you there were no changes. And today you looked hopeful, as if I said something you wanted to hear —her hooded eyes squinted—. You're so scared of love. And you think all those fleeting relationships will cover up that need in your heart. I told you once, and I'll tell you again: running away will never be the solution. And you might've started to realize recently.

—I've realized that I'm really happy with the way it is now.

—Is it? Why didn't you come when you first told me you'd come? —she inquired, picking up all the cards that were spread— Whoever that woman is, she kept you so busy that you even forgot about the curse. Am I wrong? That lady is indeed as powerful as the cards tell —she smirked to herself.

—She's not.

—Then why did you come here if it wasn't to confirm she was the one you've been running from?

Jungkook remained silent at that question. Despite showing off how serious he was about that, he was trying to hide as much as possible all his intentions to avoid Y/n and that dumb article until either of them moved out of their respective places, so they wouldn't have to see each other's faces again.

Her fingers tangled on Kyle's, completely ignoring the fact that she was doing exactly what she didn't want to do. At the same time she convinced herself it wasn't going to be anything as serious, that it'd only be just fun, her other side kept screaming how it really seemed that he had changed the past few months. He seemed more stable and genuine than the last time he reached for her.

—Did I say how beautiful you look today? —his fingers pinched her chin.

—Just a few times since you picked me up earlier —she giggled, resting her back against the wall next to the entrance to her apartment.

Ever since he showed up in her workplace, he kept praising how good she looked, and how she looked even better than she did when they last parted ways. Her cheeks kept blushing without any control, but she wasn't quite sure if it was because she just felt shy getting praise from anyone else, or if it was the fact that her ex boyfriend was actually telling her.

—Why don't we go up to your place, and I keep telling you how beautiful you look with even less clothes on? —he suggested, moving his finger down her neck.

—Isn't it a bit too early?

Was it?

Not even a few weeks back she was considering taking a complete stranger to her home, and things would've easily escalated if it hadn't been for the asshole of her neighbor. She didn't think about it twice, nor cared about how early it was, when she jumped to hook up with her neighbor the two times it happened either.

So what was exactly stopping her then?

She wasn't feeling that animalistic need, she wasn't feeling that feral attraction that would've pushed her to get upstairs as soon as they got there. She was attracted to Kyle, but not in the same way she was before they broke up. His kisses just didn't feel the same, as much as she would've loved to feel those butterflies make a mess in her stomach, there just wasn't anything. She felt nothing but a wet tongue sliding in between her lips, and a mouth sucking on her every time it locked on hers.

—Well, I've known you for six years now, what do you consider a bit too early? —he tilted his head, getting closer to her.

Before she could answer, his body pushed suddenly against her, having her gasping for air at the sudden hit. She was so close to calling him out for that, until she saw him looking back, quickly finding the owner of that push with a cynical look in his eyes and a fake smile.

—Oh, sorry —he mumbled—. I didn't see you.

Y/n just rolled her eyes, not surprised in the slightest at the attitude of her neighbor. Although she was confused at how she didn't even hear him coming, and how there wasn't a motorbike in sight.

—Are you blind? —Y/n called him out— Also, don't you have enough pavement, that you have to drag your body on the walls? There's literally six feet of space.

—It's not my problem you're here making out with your new toy, instead of going to your place. Are you fifteen? —he huffed.

—My new toy? You...

—Is this the guy that you told me about? —Kyle asked on the down low.

She remembered mentioning him, but she didn't think she went into so many details about him for her ex boyfriend to tell clearly who she was talking about by just a simple exchange of words. Did she really talk that much about him without noticing?

He suddenly moved, uncovering her body to walk towards Jungkook with a barely puffed chest and a brave aura that almost had her escaping from there. While he forced a personality that wasn't his, her neighbor just threw a smirk and a scoff, turning completely to that new man.

—It's reached my ears how you've been bothering Y/n in the past few weeks —Kyle started— and, by your attitude, I can tell you aren't planning to change in the slightest.

Y/n wanted to hide somewhere at that moment. The second hand embarrassment she was getting from that sentence alone almost made her squirm where she was standing. She didn't know what he was pretending, but it for sure wasn't working.

—And you think she needs you to talk for her? —Jungkook chuckled— She's more than capable of letting me know, and she's actually done that already. So quit that big boy act that's only embarrassing you. I know you might need to pull out your dick to show off that yours is bigger, but I won't fall for that —he mumbled.

Y/n was surprised, but at the same time she wasn't. Jungkook always fell for their small bickering, but for some reason he also gave her the image of someone who wouldn't stand low to prove himself.

And what had happened that night was one of the biggest turn offs she could've lived. It didn't cost Kyle a thing to just keep it quiet. He had no business doing what he did.

Their bickering was one thing, but having someone else trying to take a part in it wasn't her thing.

Kyle scoffed nervously, faking calmness as he exaggeratedly relaxed his pose and poked his hands inside the pockets of his pants.

—Shall we go up to your place, then? —he turned to Y/n.

Jungkook thought faster than her, taking advantage of the few seconds it took her to find an answer to his question. Those words came out before he could think about them deeper.

—Actually, you'll have to leave it for another day —Y/n looked at him confused—. Shouldn't we work on that article? Or are you planning to take forever to write it?

—We can work on it tomorrow —she tried to suggest.

—I want to work on it now. I'm busy tomorrow —Y/n squinted her eyes, knowing too well he was going to be free as he was on his usual agenda—. But if you don't want to, we won't. You're the one interested, anyway. Just know that if you reject me, I'll take as...

—Okay, okay —she stopped him, before he could get even more annoying—. Do you mind if we leave it for another day? —she turned to Kyle.

—If there's no other choice, it isn't like it's going to make a difference whether I mind or not —he answered.

He kept looking to his side, finding a victorious smirk on Jungkook's face, which he quickly erased as he leaned over to kiss Y/n on the lips to walk away from her building.

—Why do you look like you've smelled shit? —Y/n inquired, walking past him.

—Because I nearly did —he followed her inside—. I thought you had good taste, but now I'm seeing that I was the only good choice you've made. No wonder you don't hook up with anyone else.

—Says the person who has had a lot of hookups —she replied back with irony—, because I've barely seen any movement in your apartment.

—Ah, so you're keeping an eye on who I bring home or not?

His playful answer was a desperate attempt to distract himself from the thought that was crossing his mind.

As the elevator reached the ground floor, Y/n stepped first, pushing Jungkook back with a hand on his chest to keep her from getting there with her.

—I'll see you up there.

She devilishly smiled at him, before the doors closed in front of him. She was so annoying sometimes, yet so funny and cute. And that exact thought had Jungkook shaking his head, pushing away whatever second meaning that could be coming with it, as he got himself ready to walk up three floors to get to his apartment.

When he got there, Y/n was already waiting for him, arms closed on her chest while her head rested on the metallic exterior wall of the elevator.

—Look how pretty you look waiting there just for me —the cockiness in his tone almost went completely unrecognizable through the gasps and shaky breaths.

—Are you sure you're a trainer? It seems like you're going to puke your lungs out.

—It's because these stairs are too steep.

—Or because you smoke more than you should —she shrugged.

—Do you always need to have the last word? —he finally asked, standing in front of her.

—No, but it's fun to mess with you —she smiled at him—. Also, it's pretty satisfying to see how your expression changes so fast with every comment.

—Seriously? —his eyebrows raised, stepping closer to her— How does it change?

—Well, it changes from asshole to confused asshole —she nodded.

—I'm not an asshole —he spat back, resting his shoulder on that same metallic wall.

—The frozen pepperoni pizzas in my freezer say the opposite.

—Did you freeze them? —his words stuttered by the small giggle as he spoke.

—What was I supposed to do? You ordered food for a whole family. And I wasn't going to throw away something I paid —she stated, as if it were obvious.

—You should've invited me to eat them with you.

—And spending more time than I have to with you?

And there it was. She could feel the electricity making its way from the tip of her toes to the top of her head with just one quick look into his eyes.

Jungkook was mesmerized by the way her eyes shined with such mischievousness, he only wanted to sink in them. He didn't know where all that attraction was coming from, and when he started feeling smaller than her although he was almost towering over her body. He leaned closer, finally getting a taste of her after so long. Even if it had been only a few days, he could feel the thrill running through his veins when he felt the taste of her saliva on the tip of his tongue. Every time he thought he only needed a rub of her lips, he felt needy of more.

—Jungkook —he heard her voice.

Blinking back to reality, he found himself in the same pose he was in before he started daydreaming about kissing her, while she just stared at him with a confused look. She saw the exact moment he went far away from where he was, seeing his eyes showing nothing while they scanned her face slowly, moving up from her eyes to her lips.

—That's right —he quickly got himself out of that trance—. I won't make you spend more time than you have to with me.

She was confused as she saw him stepping back, walking to his door.

—Where are you going? I thought you wanted to work on the article now.

—I wanted to, but I'm so tired after you made me get the stairs —he clicked his tongue—. Let's leave it for another day.

As he closed the door to his apartment right before she could say a word, he finally realized what was so satisfying about closing the door dramatically, and why Y/n always did it to him whenever she had the chance.

I just want to talk about the nursery being painted and the purpose of the Tomb to be without a door. Anastasia had a family - and putting to the side the pact with Alecto there's some implicit symbolism to John asking for the workers of the Ninth to die constructing the Tomb with that image of new life. (Still can't articulate my disbelief that he went and didn't think that asking Anastasia of all people, The one who lost her cavalier to him, would have problems)

Yeah. Especially finding this out about the Ninth, where nurseries becoming tombs is a thing we're sensitive about.

On one level we've always known Anastasia had a family. Like, we know she's Harrow's direct ancestor. You can't be heir to the line of someone who never had children. But the nursery.... Yeah. It really hammers it in. Her friends painted a nursery mint green for her children.

And now it's a tomb.

thinking about the 'I would never court Penelope Featherington' scene again and how angry our fandom has been at Colin for it for the last two years and wondering. . .what exactly was he meant to say?

Lord Fife and his friends are *slimy*. They are gross. They have 0 respect for women. Fife isn't *Colin's* friend. Fife is *Anthony's* friend. Fife runs in Anthony's circles. Misogynistic circles with misogynistic language. Fife and Co. are out here saying the debutantes are only good for being 'wed, bed, and bred'. Fife is the one out here, well into his 30s and with an established title, fucking an 18 year woman raw on her first year out in the marriage mart with 0 intention to marry her. That is 10000% an act of violence in this society. And you *know* he's bragging about it. Hell, he was probably bragging about it right before he asked Colin about Penelope.

Colin's not in those circles. Colin has female friends. Colin respects his mother. Colin cares for his sisters. The worst thing Colin has EVER said about a woman was to call her 'cruel'.

So. . .what is Colin meant to say? "No, we're just friends" isn't going to fly for people like Fife. As IF he wouldn't reply with 'Yeah, suuuuuure, wink wink nudge nudge'. Thus ruining Penelope and fucking over her future completely. A lesser man than Colin would have let them think what they wanted, and that would have still ruined Penelope in their eyes. Silence? Incriminating.

And he doesn't want FIFE of all people to know about his close friendship with Penelope. Fife who has never once been seen respecting a woman. Fife who has never once viewed a woman as a person and not a sexual conquest. Penelope is a safe place for Colin. Is precious to him. He KNOWS that conversation could have destroyed her reputation.

People talk about how he 'ruined her prospects', but in actuality, Colin responding the way he did. . .likely SAVED her prospects. There was NOTHING he could have said except for a vehement refusal, completely shutting down the conversation, that would have spared her from their judgement and cruelty. Sure, they laughed, and maybe it was at Pen. Maybe it was at Colin. (frankly, how good of a twist would it be if they WERE laughing at Colin? Colin the 'green' boy back from his travels after being oh so gullible and getting lied to by his ex fiance? Anthony made fun of Colin for being a virgin, we think these men, all 10+ years older than him, wouldn't do the same?) But at least they didn't go 'yeah, I guess she's a ruined woman' about it, because that *would* have destroyed her reputation

We talk about how Colin could have worded it differently, but honestly?

I think he said the exact right thing in those circumstances

This was easily one of the best Lupin episodes

#there will be a rant in the tags that you can ignore #but it is so upsetting how modern/current lupin took away the depths of these characters and flimsily tries to restore their earlier depth #i'm one of those people who craves depth in what i watch and it's so difficult to like this franchise because it will be so close to doing #something interesting only to abandon it #this episode and part one as a whole was peak lupin in my opinion with each character having emotional depth yet flaws to overcome #yet modern lupin would have you believe that these characters don't desire to improve in any capacity #if we were to just focus on Goemon for example right here he shows depth with revealing hidden emotional maturity and empathy for Lupin by #comforting him and admitting he himself is afraid (which is a big deal for a character like him who is supposed to be unflinching)#but in modern lupin goemon will literally say that he's not afraid of anything and this is written without any hint of irony or depth #i'm okay with mindless entertainment and i understand that this is a series simply about stealing but the character assassination is so #disappointing #and when this series does try to be “deep” they pick the most triggering subject matter possible to depict to the point where it's #practically unwatchable (this is in reference to Part 4 and its constant SA plots as well as the rampant gratuitous child abuse plots #throughout the entire series)#i want so badly to love lupin the 3rd but it's a huge problem when fanfiction understands the characters better than the source material #lupin iii #lupin the third #lupin the 3rd #goemon ishikawa xiii #goemon #arsene lupin iii #jigen daisuke #daisuke jigen #fujiko mine #part 1

I honestly don’t think S/ora himself has been “misled” into thinking he’s in love with K after forgetting R’s sacrifice despite thinking she’s the light, etc. The audience is misled about it because of hetnorm expectations but I believe S/ora has gotten to the point where even though he’s confused about love and maybe confused about why he doesn’t feel like he thought he should about her- he’s pretty secure in knowing that whatever he feels towards her isn’t romantic love. So while the audience might read the hand holding and other stuff post R’s sacrifice as romantic I think it truly is not, from S/ora’s perspective. She is his friend. Period.

#like I dunno I could be wrong but I do not believe S has been 'tricked' into thinking he's in love w/ her #because if he was then I don't think he would be talking about how confused he is about love in the character files still after Remind #I think the whole reason he's confused is because he KNOWS-more or less conciously or subconsciously- that he's not in love with her #and he doesn't understand why because...isn't he supposed to be? Isn't that what everyone including himself expected?#so when you suddenly realize oh shit I don't actually want this....yeah that's pretty confusing

something something about how the rings not just symbolised Yuuri and Victor's bond and was not just an omamori for them something something Victor was the first person Yuuri wanted to hold on to and share his dreams with and depend on after fighting for so long ALONE something something the rings symbolising this exact same thing something something about how Yuuri's arc still is wonderful even when he didn't win the gold because he finally learnt to actually depend on people, share his dreams and aims with them and not fight alone which is something he struggles with for the whole show

#yuri on ice ///#I am not sure about how to intrepret the whole of yuuri's arc but that's purely because I've watched the show only once #It always felt a bit off to me when the whole winning gold was a bit rushed in the last episode #And of course you could blame that on the pacing and you could say that there was flaws in the writing/the writers got confused #I've seen multiple posts about it and while I personally disagree I do think it is a valid interpretation #But I want to work with what DID happen in canon so I can be at peace with the episode lol #I choose to intrepret his arc as being one where he learns to not beat himself up over his failures (In lack of a better way to phrase it)#His anxiety plays a huge factor in it too though #One could argue that maybe winning gold would've given him that final push in believing that he is in fact extraordinary and not just #A dime a dozen skater (and I think that would have been wonderful too!)#And yeah they could have made him win gold AND have him not retire! But I don't think what we got in canon is inherently bad writing #(I mean excluding the scoring which from what I hear was inaccurate? Whenever I think about how I characterize Porky, I always come back to this quote I read in a short story in the Twelve Kingdoms series regarding the trial of a prisoner named Shudatsu, who (among many other crimes) killed a young child just to steal the small amount of cash he had on him, and held no remorse for his crime. This is the quote:

The bitter realization occurred to Eikou—the man himself possessed no powers of self-analysis. His was an unexamined life. He had no substantive awareness of his crimes and was not about to face up to his actions and gain that awareness. Calling himself “trash” was the tortoise shell he crawled inside, and he was content to stay there forever. No words would persuade him otherwise and no words could wound him. (Prison of Dusk: Chapter 8, Twelve Kingdoms, trans. Eugene Woodbury. Emphasis added by me).

This quote makes me go !!!!!! because that’s exactly how I characterize Porky: someone who is capable of doing so many horrible things because he uses “I’m a terrible person” as his armor to protect himself from doing any sort of self reflection.

My interpretation of his character is why seeing him being characterized as “a terrible person who was always going to end up a monster” or “innocent because his family/Giygas who made him this way” irks me so so much! Saying that Porky was always a terrible person doesn’t really show respect to his character. He’s an abused child. His parents demeaned him and in the Japanese version, his father physically abused him in the beginning of the game. Unconditional love, kindness, and respect were likely commodities in his house (and while Porky’s closeness with Picky is left a bit vague, Picky did wait for Porky on the hill when he ran off. Meanwhile, during Fourside, Picky was abandoned at home while Porky and his father (and mother? My memory is a bit foggy) were living it up, so make of their relationship what you will).

But on the other side of the coin, saying that Porky’s family/Giygas is solely responsible for his behavior is annoying because he’s capable of independent thought. Porky does have at least some idea of what’s right and wrong considering that he begs for Ness’ forgiveness in Happy Happy Village after kidnapping Paula and joining a cult. And while Buzz Buzz admits that Giygas sways people to do evil, my interpretation of how Giygas’ powers work is that he cannot force you to do anything that you aren’t at least somewhat willing to do: he can only make the worse options seem more appealing. If he was capable of outright possession, then what stops him from possessing your sister/mom/dog/every NPC you encounter and making them attack you? There’s still a choice to do the right thing, even if he can make you feel like the wrong choices are more appealing.

To me, Porky is someone who was born in unfortunate circumstances which made him feel powerless and weak and when an opportunity arose to get power (wealth, influence, followers), he jumped on it. And when people grew upset with him because the power he’s accessed is hurting others, instead of doing some self-examination and giving it up, he saw himself as the victim and doubled down. He took the words that people threw at him, “horrible” “terrible” “rotten” “bad,” and decided that if that was how he was going to be seen both as the abused child and as Giygas’ right-hand man, then he may as well live with it and enjoy his power regardless. In the end, being a terrible person was a place of safety for him because he would never have to confront his own actions and see that the only thing he’s truly accumulated is a wealth of shame.

#pokey tag #this is a follower exclusive take BABEY!#please ignore my poor attempt at an in-text citation. i'm not about to bust out the purdue owl for this #i 100% believe that if porky didn't have such an awful family he wouldn't have ended up that way #the circumstances of his birth put him at a disadvantage to resist g.iygas' influence #but he still took a shovel and dug his morals down until they were doing limbo w/ the devil #that was a choice that he made for himself.#i know he was a kid and kids do stupid stuff but he's also old enough to know basic morality #and that teaming up with the Universal Cosmic Destroyer is a really bad thing to do #and also turning animals into chimeras/brainwashing people/trying to destroy the world/etc is really bad too #this is about a medium level take on how i interpret him. it doesn't hit every point but it hits the major ones #this is why i can't see porky trying to redeem himself. redemption cannot arise from an outside mediator #and he doesn't want to redeem himself either. he wants to enjoy himself and his power. he doesn't want to take things seriously #he'd rather live inside the title of 'a bad person' because it's easy. he never has to ask himself hard questions #he never has to confront himself or grow or change at all. he does what he wants because he's 'a bad person' so you can't expect #better behavior from him.#this is also my interpretation of his character though so like. if you disagree that's fine #variety is the spice of life (and salt is the seasoning of death so don't be salty in my inbox)#(also please please read the 12k chapter link i left above. context may be hard to understand but i see so many similarities between Porky #and Shudatsu that it's insane)
