wait im gonna be incomprehensible about character archetypes again but do you ever think about that one type of video game character? Like the Sanses of the world....the Komaedas.....maybe a Waka here and there, like it’s not a personality based archetype, it’s more like a role in the story? like a character thats technically part of the same story and world as every other character but they feel just like, 2 inches out of sync with the dimension that the story is taking place in

#im not talking about sexymen stuff because first of all komaedas like 16 no one should find him sexy except for like other 16 year olds #and not a soul has thirsted over Waka since 2009 except for me and thats my own cross to bear #(ive been replaying okami recently im sorry im in the zone) #and im not talking about breaking the fourth wall or meta stuff (although there often is a bit of that) #its more like #these characters are slightly on a different plane of storytelling from everyone else #like theres sans with his bad times and waka with his moon stuff and komaeda with......gestures vaguely at sdr2 #and like i feel like these character type really only works specifically in video games #i think ive seen other media try similar characters in this role but like it doesnt work as well i think if its not interactive media #i think part of what works about this character is how easily you get distracted from them and their whole deal until suddenly it comes back #is there a name for this character type #love these bitches #also ive noticed you usually fight them or at one point they are or can be antagonistic #also im sorry for talking about sans and komaeda in the same post. i promise you waka is not involved with kanye wests ass
