Synopsis: Yu Gil Chae is a pretty, bubbly, and a bit spoiled young lady who's called the 99 tailed fox of Neunggun-ri. She is also a bit of an outcast because other young ladies are jealous of her. They seem to think she's too straightforward and her behavior is inappropriate for a young lady, while young noblemen think highly of her. Gil Chae knows how to get men to fall for her but fails to capture the heart of the person she likes. Lee Jang Hyun is a mysterious man who suddenly appears in the Neunggun-ri social scene. Ep1: flash forward: the show starts out with the male lead on the shore covered in blood and panting holding his sword and an army of people waiting to charge at him :: slashed in the arm, somebody wraps his wound

Ep5: everyone paying attention to their injuried love interest and rushing to help him but the male lead is standing there watching them with blood dripping from his arm but no one is paying attention to him (my baby boy 😭) :: Later female lead is arguing and screaming at him and he just leaves her but then she notices the blood on his hand and commands he sits down and wraps his wound and says it's severe and not gonna heal easily so he needs to rest for a month :: Blood through his bandage :: Someone throws something at his face & the cut drips blood on the ground

Ep6: contracts a disease but is unaware, later while waking he puts his hand on his head and sways (dizzy or a headache), coughs up blood, fighting with the enemies, slashed in the side, "from this point, nobody is getting past me" (HE'S FIGHTING WHILE SICK to protect fl), fought dozens of soldiers and when there's just one remaining he's finally getting weak and has blurry vision and gets slashed in the back

Extra: not whump but the relationship between Jang Hyun and Ryang Eum is adorable 😭 In ep 9 jang hyun says that he doesn't belong on anyone's side, then ryang eum says to him while he's sleeping: "you don't belong to anyone, but i belong to you" and moves jang hyun's arm to sleep on it 😭😭😭 and in ep 11 ryang eum watches a slave being punished and looks at jang hyun with a horrified and pleading expression and without having to say a word jang hyun immediately stops them from punishing the slave just cuz his friend was hurt by it even tho he normally wouldn't give a shit 😭😭😭 that scene was so freaking adorable 😭 he always cares if the people he loves care. And in episode 15 he was crying his eyes out bc jang hyun got injured and was fighting with fl to nurse him 😂😂😂

(Ok i had my suspicions especially after ep 14 where the old man told ryang eum that jang hyun only considers him as a younger brother and "not to be greedy" but after ep 15 I'm now pretty positive it's not platonic anymore dude has feelings 😂 his jealousy was annoying it got in the way صورم انا اول مرة اشوف راجل بصورم 😒)

A gentle glimpse of sunset snuck through the window, bathing in his entrancing eyes like a pond of honey: “‘Til death do us part. I mean it.” 

“Damnnn, you’re so cheesy today!” You snorted, nudging your shoulder against your boyfriend's, who was quick to retaliate with a playful flick on your forehead.

“Oh shush. But I’m serious. I won’t die, and you won’t die, and everyone on our team won’t die. That’s it, I’ll make sure we all survive no matter what.” 

Despite his lighthearted tone, you could tell So Mun was beyond sincere about keeping his promise, and so were you. No matter how deadly it is waiting on the future path, everyone will make it out alive. 

“Um-hm, am I that dear to you?”

He scoffed, but there was no sign of mockery or ridicule, only playfulness emerged: “Yes, you are. First time knowing?”

“Please, I’m almost sick of how many times you said you unequivocally adored me, like everyday morning alarms, y’know?” You giggled, wiggling your index finger out in front of his face and quickly withdrawing it when he faked biting you: “But I still want to hear you verify it one more time, is that too much of a request?”

“After you had the audacity to say you’re getting sick of it, I’m sorry to announce your request has been declined.”

“Noooo.”

“Yeeees.”

“I take back what I said, I could never get sick of how many times you express your cheesy little lovey-dovey words for me. Like everyday morning alarms, but that means I can’t wake up and function normally without them.”

“Switched up smoother than I expected.” His effort at holding back a laugh evaporated: “That’s it? You just gotta be all sweet again after the “damage” you’ve caused? Your attitude is getting out of hand.”

You snickered, swiftly stealing a peck on his cheek to demonstrate an “apology” you knew he’d happily accept: “Verify it one more time and I’ll shut my attitude up.”

“I’ll do what you asked, but don’t shut it up.” A honeyed kiss pressed down on the top of your head. His arms closed around your waist a little tighter, enfolding the intimacy of your afternoon cuddle session to its fullest: “When hell freezes over, that’s when I’ll let go of you, satisfied now?”

You grinned, not acknowledging a dusting of pink already saturated across your cheeks. No matter what your level of lactose tolerance was, his “cheese” was always perfect for you in terms of ingestion: “Satisfied.”

The group portrait tranquilly sat on your desk, smiling at you two through its frame with the same encouragement. You and So Mun were the only ones in the room, yet the sense of security it conveyed still made you feel complete. 

“Everyone in this picture will make it until the end.” 

“I already did my part, what about you? Still determined to be stubborn and not say it back?”

Confronted by a tilt of his head, which was one of his ridiculously adorable tactics to persuade you. You eventually let out a frisky sigh and laid your head on his shoulder, eyes closed under the serenity of being with your beloved other half:

“Alright, ‘til death do us part. I mean it too.”

Too many things happened in just a short span of time, but all enervation departed as the unrelenting battles now came to an end. Knowing he had brought such miracles summoning Hwang Pilgwang, the overwhelming pressure intruding on his heart finally rested. 

For the first time in months, So Mun could finally escape the hushed corridors of his own mind. 

Finally.

As much as his teammates adored him, they weren’t dramatic people. Yes, it was a near-death experience for all, but the entire team knew they had succeeded, so there was absolutely no reason for them to give him such pained looks. His random thought contorted into an affirmation that they weren’t crying because he remained passed out longer than supposed.

The revolting metallic smell in the room sickened him to the core, yet it stood no chance against how atrociously nauseous So Mun felt being greeted by teary faces as the first thing after he woke up. 

For years he was never this afraid of his own voice, afraid of asking a question that might assemble answers he didn’t want to hear: “What’s wrong…?”

Only suppressed sniffles responded to him. 

The ambiguity only added more confusion to his already fuzzy sight. As much as he tried to deny it, something within him had already enclasped the possible truth he’d choose death over knowing.

Why was everyone crying? And why were you lying there on Hana’s lap, eyes closed, unmoved? 

“Noona, she, Y/n…” Fright clogged up inside his throat, making words stumble. The more he tried to stay calm, the more his composure shattered like a sand castle under ruthless waves: “What’s… what’s wrong with Y/n, why is she…?” 

He could feel Jeokbong’s hand supporting his back as he lunged over to your side. The sudden outbreak of panic was dizzying, yet he paid no attention to it. 

Reddened eyes of his teammates all ran away from him, obscuring themselves from a cry threatening to burst. So Mun inhaled shallowly, his own lungs betraying him with how torturously aching it was with each breath taken upon seeing your body now completely motionless. 

The welcoming warmth of your fingers was replaced with a vague, yet disturbing coldness, benumbing his skin when he grabbed your hand. The shock he felt appeared no different from receiving a thousand strikes at once, inside his ear rang a quiet shriek of nothingness: “Ms. Chu, please tell me…” 

At her name being mentioned, all the anguish she bit back for long unleashed in a choked snivel—a realization to So Mun that this wasn’t just some cruel, twisted nightmare he thought he was having. 

Time seemed suspended, sealed within the shadow of horror. 

This is not a dream. 

“No, there must be…” He stammered, squeezing your hand as an expectation that you’d return the gesture like you’ve always done: “Ms. Chu, there must be a way to save her. You can heal her, right? Y/n is strong, with your help, she’ll wake up in no time.” 

His voice died down when the woman closed her eyes, letting hopeless tears pour down her bruised face. He looked at Motak, then Jangmul, then Hana, then Jeokbong, one by one, desperately searching for a gleam of the dullest light he could at least clutch onto. 

Nothing worked. What happened had already happened.  

He took a closer look at your face, only to be pierced by a blade of emptiness. He had always loved to admire your sleeping face—so relaxing, so gentle, so peaceful. But not like this. No matter how loudly he called your name or how hard he shook your shoulders, you still lay there like a soulless doll, so close to him yet horrendously out of reach: “Y/n, wake up…. We won, we finally won…”

Calloused fingers stroked along your cheeks, looking for the slightest hint of miraculous movement. He was known to be good at performing miracles, but at the moment, even his miracles were impotent to save you.

So Mun had never felt so fucking useless.   

“No, she will be okay…” The facade of incredulity crumbled and he found himself seizing you into his arms, clinging onto the thin thread of fictional faith despite already noticing your body lacked the familiar warmth he fell in love with: “Y/n will be okay. She—she promised me she’ll be fine, she’s just taking a nap.”

Hands patting on his back like a call to the truth and cries eventually broke out, yet So Mun was too senseless to care about any of them. His mind was too busy hunting for your heartbeat, but all he received was the echo of silence. 

He pressed his hand on the side of your neck, eyes sore and fingers trembling lamentably at the absence of life. But the growling heartbeat of his own gave him hope—he could feel its rhythm through his digits. That could be your pulse, right, that must be your pulse, he can feel it.  

“She will be okay, we’re okay. I promised all of us would—”

The mutters of your name sank in the weight of disbelief, of false reassurance. His own tears wracked his body, dropping and dampening a piece of your soiled tracksuit like rain that slowly blasted into thunderstorms. 

He stared blankly into the lifelessness you were holding, dirt stains and blood-dried cuts of yours dyed his fingers with monstrous pain. Suddenly, his own existence felt alien, as if he were an outsider peeking into a world he didn’t belong in.

So much for “everyone will make it until the end,” now what?

He is a liar. 

He is a fucking liar.

For one of the rarest times in his life, he regretted trying. So Mun knew exactly what it felt like to regret. Each time, there was an explosive outrage at the injustice that had befallen him. But this one was the most destructive. 

Maybe Ma Juseok was right—what was the point in risking his life to save others? He tried so hard and worked so hard just for fate to repay all of these fucking efforts by destroying everything he had.

A lie. Maybe it really was a lie. 

Maybe this goddamn self of his was a lie. 

His distorted reflection spun and spun and spun like an annoying bug that kept buzzing despite numerous attempts to kill it. He had no idea where he was or how much time had passed, but it felt like an eternity knowing you hadn’t reached Yung. Just where are you? You didn’t vanish from the final battle’s impact, did you?

So Mun needed to see you again, or he’d go fucking crazy. 

The palpable heaviness in the air suffocated him. So Mun never hated his own reflection before, not until right now.

Colors deformed into the entrance of an abyss he wished to just jump into—black of darkness, white of Yung, muted grey of guilt.

And red, too. 

“So Mun! That’s enough!!”

Frightened yellings and sounds of falling glasses slashed on his ears. Yet So Mun couldn’t quite hear or feel anything, not even the hideous pain he just put himself through. 

Footsteps congested the bathroom he was in, tears that once dried up erupted again. Hana grasped his wrist tightly, almost fearfully, and god, the warmth exuded nearly drove him mad with how much he missed yours. 

“Stop hurting yourself, you know it doesn’t change anything! She’s gone!” The crack in Hana’s voice flooded his eyes. They couldn’t even pronounce your name around him, afraid of how much it might trigger him. 

Jeokbong’s cries in the distance and Ms. Chu’s pleas were helpless to distract the profound grief, more like a bargain for fate to rewrite itself: “Let it out, but please, you know it also hurts me to see you like this!”

The woman emanated a green radiance to envelope his hand, trying to console the blood-soaked skin he created himself from a brutal contact made against the mirror, tiny fragments of sharpness punctured on each of his knuckles. Shards warped together with flesh in a grotesque mess, crimson swathed the once-tidied floor and the paleness of his skin. It hurt his eyes. It hurt everyone's eyes. 

You used to say he looked good in red. Red tracksuits, red hoodies, red blazers. But you hated it when he was covered in the redness of blood. Does this mean he just failed you again?

“I’m sorry…” 

Was he saying this to his teammates or to you? He had no fucking clue. But the only thing he could recognize was how much effort it took to breathe, he didn’t feel like himself inside his own skin anymore when everything around him seemed fulminated. 

Strong arms whooshed him into an embrace, cramming So Mun’s hot tears and muffled sobs into a reliable shoulder. No words were spoken, but Motak’s bellowing heartbeat was already a silent bawl. 

Losing a loved one was like having life’s chapters torn out, leaving an unfinished tale with ragged ends that never fully fit in tandem. It can recover, and he can heal. Just not at the moment.

Shattered pieces of blood-drenched mirror reflected a history that repeated itself. Again, again, and again.

Winter was just gone by, hell didn’t freeze over. But the reality So Mun cherished still collapsed on that day.

MK's (and MKulia's) odds according to EP9-13 leaks. (Spoilers, obvi.)

hey all! i have too many thoughts and instead of going on a long ramble on my priv i thought i could.. y'know.. actually share my thoughts for once! i'm gonna say this right now that my thoughts may leave a rather negative tongue, so if mkulia (or mk!) is ur comfort and u don't wanna hear anything bad i suggest not reading this!! without further ado, time to ramble!

i'll talk about MK first before i talk about my thoughts on MKulia. right off the bat: she's getting eliminated EP9. this just goes without saying i think but i want to elaborate on this more. in EP8 we have: raj | wayne | julia | MK | caleb | priya | damien | zee in EP10 we see damien:

and in EP11 we see wayne and raj's clothes:

and going back to EP10's description, both julia and priya are mentioned:

AS FAR AS EP9 GOES, this leaves: raj | wayne | julia | MK | caleb | priya | damien MK is not mentioned nor seen. at all. and yes, raj is left up in the air as well but at least there is higher hopes for our silly guy. there has been the popular theory of "well, raj may have given wayne his hoodie to remember him!" but... i think the odds of that are low? raj gifting wayne something before getting eliminated is very plausible, but i see no reason as to why he'd give away his hoodie to him? i feel like if that was the case he would have given wayne something else IMO. even if we don't take it at full face value, there's still a very low chance that MK's safe from elimination (and she'd probably be safe for like another 2 episodes if she were to be safe EP9. the odds of her being a finalist are also incredibly low). after being outed as a cheater, she hasn't been doing all that well in challenges either and since EP9's challenge has to do something with breaking objects, i can only imagine how well she'd do with that. and MKulia can make their alliance not-so-obvious-and-not-so-strong for so long. people are gonna want to break them up. now let's say MK's out EP9. this leaves both priya and julia as the only female contestants remaining in the game. and assuming they're going to add a female finalist it's going to be julia. and ALSO assuming we're going to get helpers for the finale, we MAY get more mkulia content. it's not that bad! may i also add EP9's title is 'Breaking Up Is Hard To Do' while yes this is about prileb, this could also be about mkulia. with mk getting eliminated, julia has to deal with fighting on her own. and we know very well that julia cares for MK, platonic or not. So what does this mean for MKulia? people fail to realize what mk getting eliminated means. we get to see how julia deals with it (unless she just moves on and doesn't care like what priya kind of did when millie got eliminated ... i'd cry.)

plus, if MK does get eliminated next episode we'll have more MKulia content in EP9 without a doubt. there's still so many questions left unanswered and i'm sure those will be resolved before MK goes home. and honestly, i have high hopes. i think MKulia will end off on a sweet note. do i think we'll get canon MKulia? absolutely not. it'd be really nice, but i doubt it. at best, it'll probably be up to viewers interpretation whether or not julia's care for MK comes from a romantic or platonic standpoint. i think that's how far we're going to get. calling it queer bait is a little bit of an exaggeration IMO, then again i am very picky with the fandoms i am in so i don't really know what it's like to ship something that is possibly queerbait. we just gotta buckle up and endure whatever BS will get thrown at us MKulia nation. o7

and hopefully i am very wrong about this. i have extremely low expectations so i can be happy if im wrong LMFAO!!

so I was thinking about ep12 (as I am contractually obligated to do every 3-5 business days), and I keep coming back to this bit.

it's pretty obvious that pete really fucking wants what vegas is offering here. and I think he knows that he wants it. look at him!!! his head is tilted, his neck is exposed, he CLOSES HIS EYES AND STANDS STILL. he's ready for vegas to initiate something, but he refuses to do it himself.

and I think the reason why pete refuses to make the final move is because he's come up with a rule to follow during his captivity, and this rule is what keeps him sane. he's been captured, he's been tortured and knows that the torture isn't going to end any time soon. he's going to have to do things he doesn't want to do, he's going to have things done to him that he doesn't want - or worse, he is gonna want it. and so the only way he can keep any agency is by some small measure of control over his own behavior.

if I had to guess, here is the rule:

it's ok if vegas does something to me, and it's ok if I like it. I can't help what I like, and I can't control his actions. but under no condition am I allowed to ask for it. if I do, then instead of him taking from me, I gave it to him, and then he wins.

he knows it's coming. he felt vegas lick at his neck during that phone call with his grandmother, he felt vegas skim over his tattoo, pressing deliciously at a bruise along the way, getting dangerously close to his groin. vegas keeps him half-naked, probably watches him shower, definitely watches him sleep. vegas is going to try something, and pete's deepest darkest desires are going to betray him because he's gonna be aroused by it. he's gonna want it so badly. but we only kiss people we like. we only give ourselves to people who give themselves back to us. pete will not give himself to vegas. he can't. it's all he has left.

but then vegas bandages him tenderly, gives him medicine and water, kisses him (pete doesn't react, and maybe it's because he's dead tired, but maybe it's because he knew this was coming and purposefully kept himself so so still). he gives him normal food, lets him roam around the room. he gives him the key to escape. and of course this confuses the shit out of pete!!!!

and then vegas walks away. and in a haze of desire, a swoop of his stomach, is vegas really not going to- pete forgets himself. turns around, grabs him, and pulls him back. it's everything he's ever wanted - but not the way he wanted it. and with it, he breaks the most important rule he's set for himself.

Wasn't even sure if I want to post it, but anyway. I like to be more objective, analyze everything and so on. But this is the last week - which means I will live in delulu. Just don't take anything seriously. This post is a mixture of thoughts, guesses, a little personal opinion, not a theory. It's about possibilities. To begin with, I must say that my expectations have unfortunately broken free, and I cannot keep them in check. I also hope that, as always, the final episode will be more than 30 minutes ;)

REMINDER SPOILERS for ep11/ep12/s2

Keep calm No one has shot Cheng Xiaoshi in this timeline (yet)

Possibility 1 If it's just one shot. There is a possibility that the shot is a trick, where the frames and words should be in a different order. First there should be a shot scene where Qian Jin is still wearing the bulletproof vest. Most likely, he will simply run out of ammo later.

If so, yes, Cheng Xiaoshi was shot. Yes, the bullet partially hit. In fact? It was a miss. By all logic, the events when Qian Jin does not have a vest are what comes next in chronology. He must be left without firearms, so he switches to hand-to-hand combat. At the moment when Xiaoshi raises his hand to strike, you can see that he has a wound/torn clothing in a very obvious place, but this is not a through shot. Also Lu Guang's words, as an answer to Cheng Xiaoshi's worries: "You're not better than me, anyway" - probably, this “similarity” reflects the duality of their wounds.

And it's gonna be just like this... Or. Possibility 2 There will be two shots. And even if Qian Jin runs out of ammo, Xiao Li still appears in the scene, he most likely has a gun. I'm not sure if they can put such a serious and important moment in a teaser, but.

Keep in mind that where XIao Li is, there is always an absolute mess (do we trust him at all, haha). Considering all the actions of the police, either the animation studio is really salty about police work in the real world, or the constant fuck ups is deliberate actions.

Although I think Li Tianchen's attention will be focused on Li Tianxi or Qian Jin... Speaking of XƎTЯOVerthink, we still have "Li Tianchen and a bouquet of flowers". He has a very strong motivation to “get it all back.” If he shot at Lu Guang, but Cheng Xiaoshi blocked him with himself, it would make sense.

Ok, maybe things will be different. Anything can happen.

Qiao Ling

Everyone already assumed - it came true, since in the opening her eyes lit up in an extremely interesting way, and now in the preview we see the activation of her abilities.

Considering that this is (probably) the second time we see such a scene, we can say with some degree of certainty that Qiao Ling initially did not have her own abilities, but upon the death of Li Tianxi, Qiao Ling received her abilities or activated powers which are more compatible with the inner “core” of Qiao Ling herself.

Again, I think she kinda fits the role of "healer" in the team. This may also be related to the fact that in collaboration with 花亦山心之月 one of her abilities was directly related to healing and restoring HP. If this was done on purpose a year ago, if collaboration lore is particularly canon and hints... Ohhhhhh :)

I'm not sure if Qiao Ling's abilities will be a "one-time opportunity" since it is unclear whether we will remain in this timeline/reality. Considering all the elements in her posters (hearts, the music player, stop button), I think she will have the ability to stop/freeze time in the moment. It is precisely because of the symphony of life, probably she represents a “pause” button.

Lu Guang, Cheng Xiaoshi and Vortex

Something has to happen. Everyone understands perfectly well what the fandom is waiting for. Everyone perfectly understands hints and literally directly said things (visually and with OSTs). But we are all afraid that this situation is a hoax. Ugh, me too. This is terribly funny.

But let's not forget. This is the essence of LinkClick. Confuse everyone, make them doubt and overthink, and then take the most literal and direct path. Because that's what the game is about. I like to think of s2 as a game with an audience. I would laugh that Lu Guang would just be a "normal guy", but (c)... Nah, I think he is an onion with many layers.

YES. I'm still confused by the circumstances of the shot in the ep 12 intro. But we have so little understanding of where the truth is that I will continue to support the most obvious and direct way to the end.

In my opinion: s1 events is the cyclical past but with changing circumstances/Lu Guang's attempts, s2 is the present in which a “vortex” will occur, they will switch roles, and s3 is Chen Xiaoshi’s stage of depression - so Cheng Xiaoshi will be the one who will face the destiny from the other side, either learn how to live without Lu Guang, either find a way how to get him back. If everything goes this way - everything in s3 will ultimately lead to an attempt to change the node of their meeting so that they never intersect, but this is completely mystical speculation based on foreshadowing.

Considering how Cheng Xiaoshi's abilities are developing, 12 hours is not his limit. That’s why I’m betting on time jumping/rewriting from Cheng Xiaoshi's side. This choice had already arisen before him twice. We are getting closer and closer to what this will lead to. I guess one of his main themes as a character is, can he remain “himself” until the very end? I am referring to 天真.

I'll accept any scenario, just in general knowing WHAT Director Lee likes to do in his works... Huh. Also this poster for s2 extremely strange “does not coincide” with themes is s2. Like, we discussed the cameras several times, the difference in reflections and so on, but there is one point that was barely brought up. At least I didn't see it lately, cause I'm kinda new here. They're here in their damn SCHOOL uniforms (校服), we never had a flashback or anything with this designs in s2. Well. Time-jumps into the past, at the moment of the “nod/meeting” on the basketball court, but now all events will go on behalf of Cheng Xiaoshi? Yo. Is it possible that we will see (s3) their “past” not through flashbacks, but through the prism of the present? This seems like a rather interesting idea to me. If we are considering "The Arrow of Time" here, all events are relative, and it's also possible.

Considering that we all know about the “dark-design!CXS” in the intro, it never matched his design in s1, and there is an obvious link between the seasons and the passage of time, where exactly s2 is the present, and the entire s1 is a continuous "flashback". I'm not a big fan of posting materials from the art books, but it's just bits… In concept sketches of scenes, Cheng XIaoshi has a dark design, like in his intro. His eyes are not black, they are kinda ligher, like yellow, so these are not concepts for s1 at all (I’m speculating) - these are probably his concepts for s3, reliving the events when the Vortex turns over.

Anyway. Cheng XIaoshi is going to take a burden. Therefore, it is easy to draw parallels in s2ep3, we all understand the context. The themes of promises. Also, the ring. He is character with the obvious path - he have to realize the truth, find out about everything and live with it, keeping the memories. Especially about one "forget-me-not" person.

This is my personal opinion and empty speculation. So, in overall:

Lu Guang's vision was a flashback, he took over Cheng Xiaoshi's abilities at the time of death and was able to rewrite the events, but it's not the same as Cheng Xiaoshi's time jumping in the past. The color coding can be anything, but since red-lilac (as connection with twins) and white went to Qiao Ling, and all the Easter eggs point to green, Lu Guang still most likely originally had a green-yellow color coding, blue for Cheng Xiaoshi, idk.

All of Lu Guang's knowledge of lore and abilities comes from his personal experiences - for me, he as a character is literally imbued with the theme of regrets and the severity of his own actions. We saw how much his emotional moments, worries and sincerity were centered around Cheng Xiaoshi in s1, and everything became completely straightforward in s2.

Difference in design - in my eyes refers to the fact that Cheng Xiaoshi from the past could not survive his “fate” in any scenario before this attempt. And Cheng Xiaoshi from this timeline is the only one who got the opportunity to “move further into the future.” There's a chance that the story will begin once again, but from a different, now “correctly chronological angle” , if we take it from the point of view in the intros, precisely at the transitional moment from s2 to s3. But at the same time, I think that they cannot completely destroy the current chronology of events.

A lot depends on the date of Cheng Xiaoshi’s birthday, so maybe when he crossed his “age limit” everything goes to an end. I will scream if this shot is not actually a happy return to the photo studio, but Cheng Xiaoshi's birthday celebration in the past.

What about Lu Guang? Well. We literally have lyrics for "The Tides" - if this ED won't spoil everything that happens, I don't understand the lyrics at all. I don't think Lu Guang's existence will be eradicated from the universe, time or reality now. I think the current version of him will end up dead/cut off by the universe from the current version of Cheng Xiaoshi.

Will my understanding of events deceive me? Very likely. I'm not sure of anything except one thing - I'm wrong somewhere. Especially because here I do not take into account the plot role of Hatman (we have no idea what he is trying to achieve and what his influence will be in this particular situation) Again, a friendly reminder - this is all pure speculation. Lu Guang is a mystical liar, and this is not a fair game. We're playing bingo.

But am I completely sure that Lu Guang is absolutely pathetic and miserable, that he is the person who, despite all his words and rules, could not let go the person he loves?

Yes.

Qian Jin

Honestly? I love what they did. Oh, it will be a sexy main villain with complex morals? He has his own vision of justice blah blah blah. No, we have a very dirty story here, some people just fucked up everything in their lives and everything in the lives of the people around them. “And what, everything was just like that, so useless, is that how the script works?” Ok, everything may change in ep12, but.. yeah? And I think that's great. Because that's how life works, too. One of the most terrifying experiences in life is to be around such people in power. I'm not making excuses for Li Tianchen's actions, but I have deep empathy for him - his life really was nothing but a nightmare. I have no questions about his logic or methods of “asking for help” - because he is a victim of abuse.

At the moment, it's the pure irony that Qian Jin always used everyone as tools, that even his "family" were never really on the same side with him, and in the end the real "tool" - is Qian Jin himself. In the hands of a Hatman. If earlier I believed that they could act as one (since I had other thoughts about Quede, and we also did not know Qian Jin’s motivation), now I am inclined to believe that Qian Jin never knew that he was just a pawn in someone else's hands. Also, that purple color is all around his figure ;) "Hatman" was never on the screen in present, but also always was here.

Twins

My bet is that they definitely don't fall out of the plot. Their role is too important, they must be included in the main cast to reveal the story arc of Hatman (here I'm sure he is Liu Xiao). If he promised Li Tianchen a meeting in the future - it will happen. Could he get a redemption arc? Perhaps. Will he be able to get his HE? I guess no. Hatman's words in flashbacks about his philosophy about hunters sound pretty straight forward. This will be a completely different antagonist, with his own philosophy and understanding of the structure of the world and society. But it's not entirely clear to me what path the plot is leading us down and what the final point will be. To what extent is our “main” antagonist really... the main “antagonist”, will Li Tianchen continue to follow the path of "destruction" or will he receive a redemption arch.

Given his background, it's possible, and I can generally see the possibilities for it, even considering that Li Tianchen was involved in a series of massacres. The different details of the murders and the broken chronology - I can get how this could theoretically be softened if it is divided who killed whom. Yes, we know that Li Tianchen generally had no problem stabbing a person with a knife. But I still don't understand the difference in murdering styles (also what's wrong with boots in some cases), considering that Li Tianchen probably prefers more planned and quiet methods (like murder-suicides). It probably doesn't mean anything, Li Tianchen personally confirmed that he killed these people, but I sense something strange here. For now, I cannot imagine, if Li Tianxi does not die completely, how the script will be able to maintain the right degree between drama and logic and at the same time not discount everything that happened in the plot. If events are rewritten, it all depends on what impact it leaves, whether this reality, where everything mattered, will continue to exist. But this is definitely not the end for all of them.

Hatman

I'm still firmly convinced that Hatman is Liu Xiao, not much has changed since my first post about him. Possible antipode of Lu Guang (was Lu An from the mini-series a subtle hint, haha). At the moment I'm leaning towards 3 ideas:

He is also a person with abilities and sees variations of the future that has not yet happened since childhood, which generally clarifies his mysterious phrases about possibilities and chances.

In terms of time, since all events are relative to each other, maybe he is able to move from the “present-future” to himself 7 years ago in order to “lead” Li Tianchen to the desired point in current events and correct the necessary course.

It's all part of a time loop, the events are rewritten, but he still has memories of them, which is why he can "correct" what happens when the "loop" of several years is repeated again.

What else am I sure of? He will have some kind of terrible background story with his mother, remember it. And, if we take into account another donghua from the same studio, perhaps Liu Xiao takes his “roots” and “references” from approximately the same character as Lu Guang himself - just each of them … adopted different features, references and archetypes. Because damn it, Liang Chao's legacy is real and I can't stop thinking about it - this is one of the characters from Tu Bian Ying Xiong: Leaf - his story and family situation have interesting points, especially considering some moments in the link click itself, which refer to Leaf's plot (same city, closing of a pharmaceutical company, some interesting easter eggs, all of it)

I always wondered what was going on in all the photos in the opening. I didn't expect them all to be left with such intrigue until the very last episode.

We have two photos in the opening that are flying in the water, they are almost impossible to see because of the blur, I think that their meaning will be revealed this friday (same as diary). If the events were/will be rewritten, most likely it has something to do with these photos - the same two photos from the op, as well as in 3D scene.

Except for Chen Nan, there are a few more strange photos from the passage in the tunnel. More cases, covered bodies, a bicycle/bike handlebar or something like that... But I have no clear thoughts on them at all.

What are the main points?

Some could be picked up in episode 12 in my opinion. Or in s3, I hope they not fall into oblivion. I am not taking into account all the questions that left since s1, hello to April-September and Emma.

A defense of Last Twilight ep12

I guess I'll start with things from mostly before this episode. Day's Mom and Night, and how they act with Day.

Night. Day was scared, upset, and wanted to lash out for Night "ruining his life". Day didn't want to take any blame for the accident, because that would be just too much. It is easy to blame Night for the loss of his eyesight. Even so, I do think Day missed having his older brother, as he said in ep12, he never truly wished that Night wasn’t his older brother. Day just needed to realize that his life was not over, he was not completely stripped of everything that made him, *him*. Mhok helped Day gain confidence and hope, which let him finally loosen that knot and forgive Night. 

Day's Mom. This one was harder, because at first I thought she went over the top and freaked out too much. She was gone all the time, probably since the beginning, trusting Night, who was old enough to remember his dad, to take care of his younger brother Day. So from the start, she probably babied Day and treated Night as someone who could take care of himself.

Going off that, she saw Mhok as someone who wouldn't be able to provide for himself, much less Day. He's a violent criminal, of course it'll be hard for him to find a job. He cannot be Day's caretaker forever, Day won't need it, and then what? So she did what she thought she had to, separate Day and Mhok. But as soon as Mhok showed he could get his own job she started to warm up to Mhok. Do I think her knee jerk reaction to lock up Day so he was safe is right? No. But do I understand it? Yes. I don't think it caused trauma, I think Day understood. He had hope that his mom would see him as normal one day. It was a slow journey, but I think she finally did.

Day's mom was so hyper focused on Day that she forgot Night, who has been stuck in the middle, trying to do right by Day while dealing with his own guilt and fear that maybe his mom hated him too. I couldn't imagine the pain was feeling when Night tried to excuse himself from the table. He probably thought he was surrounded by people who didn't want to be around him. That meal was the beginning of the family finally healing over their trauma. Night needed his mom's love just as much as he needed Day to forgive him.

In short: I think Day's family did heal, they did adjust and learn how to love each other again.

Ok onto The surgeries and second chances.

The show is a fairy tale. It's been a fairy tale since the beginning with Mhok and Day being The little prince and the fox. Day starts to learn how to trust and how to hope. He slowly builds up trust and confidence in himself. Only for it to be torn down and he has to start again and again and again.

The show is also a fairy tale like the book Last Twilight. Day's eyesight is a metaphor like the light that Me chases in the book. Yes, it's just his eyesight like Mhok says in ep12, but it's also hope. The first time it bloomed was when Day was brave enough to make his way to Mhok's work by himself. He had just had that healing dinner with his family, and now he's with his boyfriend and everything feels so right.

But it doesn't work. Mhok is still too fearful, and it makes sense he's too scared. Day's worst fear is that people pity him and treat him differently. Mhok's worst fear is his loved ones being taken away from him and he doesn't trust Day can live on his own yet, as we see when they go on vacation. Mhok’s fear makes him lose opportunities as all his attention and concern was on Day, to the detriment of himself. Mhok’s fear only hurts them, and will continue to hurt them. They need to live and grow, Day needs to live without Mhok's support and Mhok needs to see that Day can thrive without his support.

So the first surgery didn't work because in their fairy tale, it wasn't right. Day’s hope was false, but their relationship was not in vain. (I do want to say I really really appreciated that they said that this rarely happened IRL, they didn't use this to strip hope away from real people waiting for this surgery.)

The second chance. So Mhok goes away, they learn and grow and thrive. They live their lives but they do this apart, rather than, as their mother hoped, together. This seems like something they both needed to work through, being alone, before they can be together. I know people don't like time skips but honestly, it's a storytelling device that works here. We get to see the outcome of their endeavors. Mhok is a respected cook and starts making his own recipes. Emotionally he’s matured to the point where he realizes he was treating Day with pity, even if it was because of his sister’s death. Day on the other hand, has graduated, written a book, and is working for a bookstore (owns a bookstore?). The time apart is for them to grow up, and they did. Do I think we need a long sad story to make it all “worth it”, not really, not here. It’s like Day and Night fixing their relationship was such a quiet scene. We know they lived because we see the outcome, it doesn’t need to be sad. All I feel that I am deprived of is Night and Porjai's story (I demand First Dawn! Give me a spin off!). 

Mhok tried to contact Day, realized he was blocked, and probably kept trying. What we do know is his love for Day is constant, but honestly, I don’t think he had the courage to do anything until he saw Day on the escalator. All those feelings felt fresh. Later, I don't think he knew what he wanted to do until he saw Day at the bookstore and Day recognized the perfume. If he had any lingering fears, then the difference between the Day in the library at the beginning of the series and the Day now working at a bookstore for the blind was (i'm sorry) night and day. Mhok still wants to make Day's life easier, but also can see clearly that Day is ok. He is thriving.

Now all that’s left is for Day to accept that Mhok see’s him as he is, without pity, he hesitates a lot in this episode, partly, I think, because Mhok is still treating him the same, holding his arm and pulling out his chair. Does Mhok still see him as less than capable? He doesn’t want to be something Mhok will regret. Day is told by his mom that “This is what normal love looks like,” because she knows her son is still afraid that Mhok’s love isn’t “normal”, he doesn’t want to be someone's burden, he wants to be their freedom, his mum can see this, and she knows how far they’ve come. She gives him the final push he needs to accept that his fears are real, but they are also false, that doubting your worthiness as a partner is the most normal thing of all. Day finally chooses to let go of his own fears, and let them have the second chance. And finally hope actually blooms and Day gets his eyesight.

I do not want to say that anyone's lack of hope or faith or anything is what is keeping them from a successful surgery. I am not blaming Day. Day was ok before getting his eyesight, he is ok after, but he got what he wanted and has grown and overcome so many obstacles. His story isn’t worthless, he has learned so much. Day getting his eyesight is also giving hope to real people who are on that list. Day getting his eyesight back is a nice thing, a bonus, but not necessary to Day living happily ever after. I'm just saying, within this fairy tale, you can see Day’s chances at getting his eyesight back as a manifestation of Day’s hope. 

When we first met Day, even though he had a curable condition, had given up all hope that he’d ever get a transplant. He was angry, bitter, and a mess. We saw him overcome his own fears, gain skills, and experience the world in a different way. We saw him pick himself back up over and over. Day isn’t the same person, with sight or without.

The story is saying hope is something worth chasing after.

Be like Me and keep going, good things will come, even if it's not what you had planned. Even if your life seems like it's been burned to the ground. Keep running after that light, because even if it doesn’t lead you to where you think it’ll go, because life is still worth experiencing.

OS2xBBS: My Overall Thoughts

This is severely overdue, but I wanted to distance myself from these episodes to make sure that 1) regency bias didn’t seep through and 2) my thoughts don’t get clouded by the cute, swoony moments (all the kissing!) in an attempt to mask deeper plot and characterization issues, and 3) with some difficulty, I try to set aside how desperately I wanted OhmNanon’s reunion with PatPran to live up to the OG series.

So, to address the last item, for the most part OhmNanon’s chemistry was still alive and well, save for a few hiccups. This is a testament to two very experienced professionals. That said, my biggest gripe with these special episodes was the treatment of the Pat and Pran characters that has nothing to do with the actors.

It didn’t feel like a true crossover of two beloved series but instead felt like Pat and Pran’s presence were more like afterthoughts thrown into an ATOTS script. Pat and Pran were merely there to serve Phupha and Tian’s story and that is were I take great issue. In this case, Ohm and Nanon should not have been billed as main leads but rather supporting characters that have extended guest arcs in an ATOTS sequel.

Maybe setting plays a larger role here. I’ve asked myself if I would feel this way if Phupha and Tian got thrown into Pat and Pran’s university life instead. But I can’t imagine a storyline where the inverse of what we got makes sense since PatPran are the more established couple and PhuTian have no reason to leave PPD.

My wish was that instead of a crossover, P’Aof would have let BBS stand on its own even if it meant we got two fewer episodes out of it. While we did get glimpses of Pat and Pran’s life three-years into their relationship, it felt watered down because they weren’t in their own environment but a borrowed one. So, really, more like seeing them while on vacation than anything truly concrete. A lot of ‘what have Pat and Pran been up to and where are they in their relationship’ was left to viewer interpretation, which is all fine and well if what P’Aof had to say about the state of their relationship made any sense.

Fake fighting and cute hijinks aside (Ohm and Nanon can sell these type of scenes in their sleep); what I’m after is the meatier stuff like the end of EP4, the entirety of EP5, EP10, EP11 and EP12. Where is the Pran that got choked up when Pat revealed he ran after him with his guitar; who gripped his hand when Pat volunteered to fake break up to win back Pran’s friends and wordlessly said I’m here to stay. Where is the “but I care about you more” Pran? 

And where is the Pat who communicated so openly with his man? Who served as a walking advertisement of what it means to be a soaring green flag to all those who came before and after him? Why was he reduced to an amalgamation of Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber? Make it make sense, P’Aof. Pat never, ever, not once, came off as a dumb himbo in the OG series, so why was he reduced to that here?

The script could have been so much better, tighter, just more substantial. And we can't even say that P'Aof didn't have the space to include a meaningful story for them; I call bullshit on this notion. There's so much story that you can tell in a single hour. We've seen him do it with the BBS pilot.

It felt like so very little thought went into the BBS side of the story. Does P’Aof not know how to write established relationships in a compelling way? I know this can't be true because he gave us EP12, but why did it feel like he phoned it in with these bonus episodes? It’s like P’Aof knew he had both boys for a limited time and just threw the entire kitchen sink at them and anything that stuck made it into the final cut. Like, he relied heavily on the actors to bring it home for him. And that really wasn't fair to Ohm or Nanon who really did the best they could with what they were given.

I mean, even if he wanted to show the (realistic) cracks in their relationship, there were so many better ways to show this than have Pran essentially running away, avoiding Pat (basically regressing to who he was pre-relationship) and then treating Pat like a bumbling Barney Fife for following him? There was no fire in either of them to fight for or with one another. They were shown to have grown complacent (and dare I say taking each other for granted?) which is so at odds with what we got in the OG series that I was confused at what I was watching onscreen. It did not feel like a continuation of EP11 leading to EP12, in fact it felt very disconnected from their origin story.

Pat Jindapat. What they did to my guy was a travesty. They took away all his depth and cast him in the role of a bumbling idiot. Don't get me wrong, OG Pat had his comedic moments but I felt like OS2 veered so far into the extreme of 'lets bring the funny' that it fell completely flat. It was NOT funny. It was disappointing and sad to see one of my favorite characters reduced to this cartoon version.

More than senselessly reducing Pat to cannon fodder to merely serve as comic relief, I'm upset that Pran's growth from the series was essentially negated to where he became, in some ways, unrecognizable. More than once, it felt like Pran was just tolerating Pat's presence rather than basking or gravitating towards it. Again, so inconsistent for a guy who longed for his man for literal YEARS.

Gone are the days of "I'm done adapting" or adoringly staring at the space Pat used to occupy with heart eyes. I just don't get how we went from that Pran to this Pran to the Pran who readily committed his life to Pat in EP12. This in-between Pran is a stranger to me.

Final words: I'm both grateful that we got extra scenes with our boys but at the same time wish P'Aof had left them untainted.

Last Twilight Ep12 thoughts !!

Ok so i am super duper duperrrrr happy with this ending. My worst fear was Mhok and Day being miserable in their individual lives but that was so not the case. We saw them finding themselves and their purpose away from each other and being happy individually and then we saw them finding each other again and realising that they want to be together because they love each other. And thank god we got so much more than happy ending. Also the amount of people I have seen that wished Day was still blind is messed up 🫠 yes this is fictional. But also there could be a human being just like Day out there in real life who's experiencing everything that Day went through and for that person an ending like this is everything. Coz it's filled with hope and love, something they could be looking for out there.

Like bare with me. You became blind and your whole life shifted and there is an opportunity for you to get that eye sight back so you keep having hope and you move on. You find happiness, you find a new purpose but that doesn't mean you don't dream of a day where you can see the world again. And imagine you finally get to have that dream become reality but the people around you wish that you never got that surgery LIKE HOW MESSED UP IS THAT !!! Coz you are essentially sending out the message that Day's story is only worth being told as long as he stays blind.

Personally for me Last Twilight was not just a story of a blind man finding his way back to life and adjusting and being happy with his current life. It's about hope. It's about looking out for that tiny shred of light in the pitch black darkness. Yes Day became blind due to an accident. He started off as someone who closed off to everyone around him until Mhok came into his life. Slowly he started getting used to his new life. He became more confident and started  finding happiness little by little but even then he never gave up on the hope that he might one day get that donation. Just coz he started accepting his reality doesn't mean that he stopped looking for that hope. It was always there. 

It's so sad to see people wish that the surgery never happened coz they think Day's whole story of growing up as an individual throughout the last 11 episodes was just a waste of time. At the end, Day got such a beautiful arc. And that makes me so happy. And even if the surgery plotline wasn't there I would still be infinitely happy with the ending.

Also makes me realise no matter how good of an ending a series gets some people just can't be happy and will find fault with it. Thats okay. If a show made you happy then dont let anyone else ruin that for you and if some comments out there made you uncomfortable then unfollow /block them loves ! 😌

(Also don't bother coming at me 😌 I will not tolerate any slander against this beautiful show. I won't let anyone ruin my experience either. If you didn't like it then that's your problem. You don't get to push your opinions onto me or anyone else that don't agree with you. This is for the people out there who found this story beautiful and touching)

Week 20: 

“Why can’t we be going somewhere warmer?” I whined from beside Tech in the cockpit. 

“Well, Rex said this was urgent so unfortunately we don’t get the pick of missions.” He said with a shrug. 

“Listen, this place is supposedly crawling with Stormtroopers now. We get in, we get out. Rex even said that if we can’t locate him quickly, leave. He knew this was going to be risky, that’s why he gave it to us.” Hunter said as he came in. 

“Who is it? Do we know him?” I asked. 

“Echo said someone named Mayday.” Hunter said. 

I cringed slightly at his name, I still missed him dearly. He left about 7 weeks ago to join Rex. I finally accepted the fact that Crosshair was gone, so now losing my best friend was like salt in the wound, but I couldn’t keep him from what he wanted, I knew that. 

We stayed in touch though which helped, it just wasn’t the same.

“There!” I yelled, seeing a figure slumped against the rocks. 

“There is no clear landing, Hunter and Wrecker must propel down to save them.” Tech said from where he sat, flying the ship. 

“Go! Hurry before we’re spotted.” I said ushering them toward the door to help them get strapped in. 

As they lowered down I called out to Omega, “Start gathering all the blankets you can find. They’re going to be freezing when they get here.” 

It felt like forever until Hunter was coming back up. He had one of the men in his arms. 

“He’s already gone.” He said once he was back on the ship. I sighed. 

“Damn it. Take him to the back, there’s a bag I think. We’ll take care of him once we land again. What about his friend?” I asked. 

Hunter didn’t answer, just walked past me to put Mayday in the body bag. 

“Alright, Tiny! We’re coming up!” I heard Wrecker say through his com, he had to yell over the wind. 

I waited by the door to help pull him in once he was up. My focus was solely on getting him to safety I didn’t even realize who it was with him. It wasn’t until the ship door was closed and Hunter had joined us once again that I turned to face the man shivering in the middle of the ship. When my eyes met his brown ones, I froze. The moment we made eye contact though, he averted his gaze downward, scared to look at me. 

I stepped forward until I was right in front of him. My eyes scanned every inch of him that they could. I turned back to Hunter. 

“Is this real?” My voice was just barely above a whisper. 

He gave a small nod and I turned back to Crosshair. 

My eyes began to water, seeing him right here. I never thought that I would ever see him again, let alone be this close to him. I felt like I should be saying something, anything. But nothing would come out. Words could wait. I didn't need words to be able to show him how much I missed him. 

“Yn-” He began to say my name but I shook my head and brought my hands up to his cheeks. 

“Just kiss me.” 

And he did. 

He kissed me once. He tried to pull away but only enough to catch his breath and then he kissed me twice. Then again, a quick breath of air then he was kissing me once again. 

He pulled away for the last time, but just to rest his forehead against mine. 

“It’s been a long time, doll.” His voice sent a warmth through me. 

My heart swelled at his voice, it filled with a love that I hadn’t felt since… I couldn’t even remember the last time I felt like this. I nodded and tried to wipe my tears away. 

“Let’s get you warmed up, yeah?” I asked. 

He nodded and allowed me to lead him over to the heater and then cover him in blankets. I refused to leave his side. It felt like if I left he’d disappear from me once again. Omega brought him a thermos of hot tea to help as well which he was grateful for. We didn’t say much, just reveled in the fact that we were together once again. Eventually, the night was coming to an end and it was time for everyone to begin to settle down. 

Crosshair had warmed back up to his normal body temperature. 

“You should go to bed.” He finally said. 

I had my head resting on his shoulder already, “Come with me?” I asked quietly. 

He didn’t answer. Instead, he nudged me off of his shoulder and stood up, offering me his hand. He lead us back to the bunk we had shared a long time ago. I found him a change of clothes from the sweats and shirts I used to steal from him. We both got changed and then settled down in the bunk. I had forgotten how much of a squeeze it was to have two people sleep in the tight space, but it felt so right. 

The ship was quiet and so when I spoke up again, I did my best to keep it as quiet as possible. 

“I’ve dreamt of this moment for so long.” I said. 

“Hm?” 

“You coming back… I knew your chip was gone back then… but I don’t even care about all of that. You’re home, that’s all I care about.” I said, sitting up a little to look at his face a little better. 

He nodded, “And I’m not leaving ever again.” 

I leaned over to give him a kiss, then I settled back down. My head was resting on his chest. I felt him press another kiss to the top of my head, before pressing them there again, but this time they lingered much longer. 

When he finally pulled back he whispered a quiet, “Good night.” 

I would have returned it if I wasn’t already halfway asleep. I hadn’t fallen asleep this quickly in a long, long time. With him next to me, everything was as it should be.

all of the new sekiha love love tenkyouken fanarts coming out today I NEVER LOSE 😭😭 also i know i said before that i didn’t expect them to Actually reference that scene cause bravern’s been fairly light on the direct references thus far but like. after the last episode i think It Could. simply bc it could (theoretically) be used in a way that makes sense for the story and their character arcs. which is how the past references have been used!!!! like. even the cross-counter fakeout in ep5 bc isami and smith are Not rivals and therefore denied that visual communication w the audience and then the cross-counter actually landing in ep11 bc bravern and superbia Are. this show is so smart and i love it so much. also i think it would be really funny if a young gay smith saw the clips of domon’s booty in the mobile trace suit that the show loves to put onscreen and was like. i gotta watch this LMFAO

the show getting more fans is v cool but Holy Wow are my notifs unuseable LMFAO. i think this worked out well tho cause all us mecha/toku freaks who have been following along the whole time could have peak “this show is a strange disease that afflicts only mecha/toku freaks” hours during eps like. 5-9 while smith was doing the same shit onscreen LMAO. it’s rly funny seeing ppl caught off guard by smith=bravern too cause by the time it happened in real time i feel like we’d all talked ourselves out of it happening simply because it was Too obvious……..idk i think it’s super fun to see the different experiences a show can give someone watching weekly versus binging it :] also hopefully this means there will be bravern stuff at cons………i’ve cosplayed as miyu at two cons already and literally only one person between them knew who i was so 😩

I wish I was better at conveying my thoughts more eloquently but here's my very late journal of my thoughts on ep12.

After some technical difficulties I finally watched ep12 and I've go to say:

I LOVED IT SO DAMN MUCH YOU GUYS!!!! THIS SEASON FINALE WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!

That opening scene was so tense, you could literally cut the tension with a knife because of how thick it is.

Manaria was being a bitch again, I have a section on that so wait for that. The amulet was shown again but it wasn't used, I'm still crossing my fingers though because they keep focusing on that thing way too much! The scales were used in this episode however and DEAR GOD the that Ceremony had me at the edge of my seat clenchining my ass! I was legit going to die when Rae pulled out that twig!

I went from saying" never let this girl cook again" to laughing with joy when the tree sprouted up! Also can we talk about the tree for a minute? Imagine my fucking shock and hysterical breamdowm as a Lumity fan when I saw that tree for the first time! It was a tree that represented their love! You know what tree also basically does the same thing?

THE FUCKING LUMITREE!!!! THEY HAVE THEIR OWN FUCKING LUMITREE!!?!? WHEN I THOUGHT RAECLAIR DIDNT HAVE ANYMORE SIMILARITIES TO LUMITY IT KEEPS PROVING ME WRONG!!!! THESE TWO SHIPS SHARE SO MUCH DNA WITH EACHOTHER ITS UNREAL!!!! AM I LIKE THE ONLY ONE WHO SEES THIS!?!?

Ahem anyways.

Rae's confession was so raw and emotional to where you can feel the love flowing out of her words and you can see this is different from her other confessions cause she saying what she's wanted to say since the start and without hiding behind a mask this time. And when Clair admitted her feelings by pulling Rae away to protect her it was super sweet and shows that she's truly grown close to Rae. She even starts calling Rae by her name near the end of the episode instead of calling her "Commoner".

Clair was also great this episode, and she actually took my advice from my episode 11 rent post and reflected on her time with Rae. Her Freudian slips and gay panic because she's finally starting to fall for Rae were super cute and gave me a lot of "Ayo pause, run that back" moments!

I still hate Manaria my reasoning has just changed. Like, bruh, there is actually something wrong with you! Was any of what you said real!? Did you actually violate someone or was that story also just part of your plan!? Did you have like a back up or something if either you or Rae failed!? I legit can't read you, you're actually insane! You really are the single worst wingwoman I've ever seen, cause there were a million other ways to go about it, yet you somehow picked the wrong answer. You even ruined the confession, I mean who does that?!? I am for real about to throw hands! To be honest it would make sense if you were lying since you're a technically a politician after all, that's like your guy's whole thing.

BAD BATCH EPISODE PREDICTIONS:

Heads up I haven’t seen any leaks or researched anything so this probably won’t be accurate pshkssbks (also no spoilers, just trailer references!)

First off, Ep3: The Solitary Clone??? Who??? I’ve seen some people theorizing that this could be Crosshair which would be SO EXCITING LIKE PLEASE!!! I WANT TO SEE HIMMMM. It could also be Rex, Cody, or Wolffe which would be great too (It better not mean Echo is leaving because omg I WOULD SOB NO)

Ep4: Faster To me this seems like it’s probably where we see Tech pod racing, I mean it just makes sense right? I think it’s either that or the Batch has to physically work faster due to the Empire finding out they’re still alive or something.

Ep5: Entombed omg fear. What is that. What does that MEAN. Please tell me it’s just like a semi-filler episode where some of them get trapped in a cave or something normal please let it be something normal and not absolutely devastating mr filoni please 🫠🫠🫠

Ep6: Tribe This one could be really cute!! I feel like this is either referring to the Batch, some actually tribe they meet, or maybe Rex’s group?? Idk, but it seems pretty tame to me :)

Ep7: The Clone Conspiracy and Ep8: Truth and Consequences no. no stop THATS SO MEAN. THATS JUST CRUEL OMG. I feel like this is a direct connection to the Fives arc in TCW and THERE BETTER BE A NAME DROP PLEASE but also IM SO SCARED. On one hand it’s two episodes so yayyy!! But on the other, this really seems like it either has to do with the chips and Fives or some big secret/misunderstanding that might cause some serious tension within the Batch.

Ep9: The Crossing I mean come on. There’s no way this isn’t a play with Crosshairs name, why would this be the title if it’s not. I’m thinking this could be where Crosshair comes back (please), or maybe just Hunter and the Batch finally dealing with the fact that he left in the first place. Or maybe Crosshair is forced to work together with them again for a bit somehow? Or they just cross a big chasm or something and Crosshair is there. Could just be that.

Ep10: Retrieval ITS CROSSHAIR RIGHT. THEY’RE RETRIEVING CROSSHAIR THATS WHO IT IS RIGHT PLEASE I’M BEGGING. I think it’s either that or the Batch goes on some typical retrieval mission and along the way either rescues one of the Batch members from danger or maybe some other person (gungi?)

Ep11: Metamorphosis This could refer to so many things, but I think it might be the whole batch or just one member having a sort of revelation like:

If it’s the whole batch, maybe they’ll change and decide to join the fight against the Empire together

Omega: this could be her learning more about the world and maybe pushing back against Hunter to decide things for herself or disagree with what he wants to do

Cody?: I feel like this could be him breaking free of the control chip, maybe turning on/leaving the empire

It could also be Hunter finally deciding to have the batch join the rebellion, or Crosshair coming back (pleASE), or Echo leaving to join the rebellion alone (NO)

Ep12: The Outpost This one comes out the day before my birthday WOOO!!! My first thought here was Rishi Station, but honestly that connection is pretty unlikely. It could be Rex’s base or maybe the building we saw Cody walking up to in the trailer?

Ep13: Pabu what. is that a guy or…

Ep14: Tipping Point oh this could be so many things. It could be Cody and Crosshair fighting and one of them choosing a side, it could be one of them dying (omg no) making the others more determined to fight the empire, it could be Crosshair coming back (PLS), it could be Echo deciding to leave and join Rex with the rebellion (DONT), it could literally be so many things. In any case, it’s clearly the lead up to/start of the big end conflict, so it’s safe to assume something serious is going down and I’m scared.

Ep15: The Summit and Ep16: Plan 99 Honestly, I have no clue. Big conflict, some crazy Bad Batch plan, my only hope is that it requires Crosshair meaning we get him back by then? Hopefully it’s not like a last resort kind of plan meaning bad things are going to happen but I mean this is star wars, I can only expect pain.

Anyway, that was so long I seriously doubt anyone will read all this but if you have any other predictions I’d love to hear them! I always think these are so fun :)

Pete's perspective: "I don't like it. Then why didn't I say no?"

Because of Vegas' strong presence, it is very easy to overlook Pete's perspective on the whole situation. I really like how the series tends to draw our eyes towards Vegas and turns Pete into a blurry background figure. Vegas is usually the aggressor and the louder one (both when it comes to his actions and his appearance) and by depicting him like that, the series makes us forget that Pete also fights his own inner battles. It's very much in tune with the cause of Pete's problems and the reason why he finally breaks down in ep13.

Due to his abusive father, Pete has learned quite early on in life that it is favorable to wear masks of smiles, kindness and loyalty. He has distanced himself from others in order to hide and protect his true self. It is a trauma response that allows him to bear all this misery, the pain he receives can't really touch him anymore. If he simply keeps quiet and puts on a smile, the pain will eventually end and he doesn't have to acknowledge that it was there in the first place. Using this method, Pete has gotten through life considerably well. He is not entirely happy, but he is also not breaking. Pete can torture, he can kill, he can also get hurt himself, none of that really matters to him. Pete has successfully created a barrier between himself and the world and by doing so he has also dehumanized himself in a way.

But Vegas is able to break down the wall that surrounds Pete. It is especially when Pete witnesses the way Khun Gun treats Vegas in ep11, that Pete's own trauma resurfaces and is being renewed. When Vegas calls his grandmother, it is also the moment in which we see Pete cry and scream for the first time. Pete tries his best to keep himself together, to not get distracted by Vegas and stick to his plan to either escape or die. But once they're in the safehouse things are getting increasingly difficult for Pete. His feelings and thoughts are all over the place. He simultaneously wants to get out of that safehouse and get back to the main family, he wants to continue to protect himself, he wants to help Vegas, he wants to give up and just die right there, he wants to give in to Vegas and love him and he also doesn't want any of that at all.

In ep12 Pete finally gives in to Vegas' advances, even though he might actually want a different kind of relationship between them. He's just letting Vegas project his own feelings and thoughts onto him ("But you like it, don't you? When I'm like this. Every time I get moody your eyes tell me, that you like it.") and in return Pete is given one glorious moment in which he is able to forget all of his prior suffering. He is just laying there, feeling the pleasure of giving the reigns over to Vegas while he allows himself to float away on a cloud of happiness. I believe that Pete does indeed trust and love Vegas during that scene, simply because he has pushed away all of his negative thoughts and feelings.

In the beginning of ep13 Pete is still experiencing that post-coital glow from before, but there is already a somewhat melancholic undertone. He tells Vegas: "I just live in the present. What I'm feeling, that's all I think about." Pete has chosen the easiest way out, which is to just continue to give in to Vegas and to not think about anything else. But deep down he already knows that this can't go on for much longer.

Then everything quickly comes crashing down onto Pete. When Vegas tells him that just because they slept together, Pete doesn't have the right to tell him what to do, Pete realizes that Vegas is not recognizing him as a fellow human being who has his own thoughts and feelings. Maybe Vegas thinks of Pete as his pet, maybe he thinks of him as his ideal lover... it doesn't really matter in the end. Because Pete can tell that Vegas only sees what he wants to see, making it now impossible for Vegas to get though to Pete's true self. So Pete is slipping away even further, he feels like he has lost that last shred of humanity that was still left inside of him.

Finally Pete just can't take it anymore and so the words he has never dared to speak aloud simply gush out of him: "I've always been useless. I never exist. I have no feelings. I don't freaking have anything left within me. I can't take myself anymore, Vegas..." these are the thoughts you have when you're so broken and detached from everything that you've actually lost yourself. Initially Pete only wanted to protect himself, but he went too far. So he has become nothing more than a shell, a vessel to be filled with the emotions, needs and wants of other people. It's not just Vegas who did this to him. It was his father, his grandmother, Khun Korn, Kinn, even Porsche and Tankhun. Everyone in Pete's life has knowingly or unknowingly turned him into exactly the person they wanted him to be and Pete let them. Knocking Vegas out and finally escaping is Pete's last desperate attempt to save himself. Despite being so very broken, there must still be a part of him that wants to keep fighting and keep on living.

So in the end, why didn't Pete say no? Why didn't he escape sooner and why did he allow things to get this far, despite knowing better? Well, looking at Vegas and Pete one might think that Vegas is the attention seeker among them. But Pete craves attention as well, because he is in fact not a blurry background character. Imagine what a Pete without all of that trauma would've been like: He would've been confident, chatty and outgoing, funny, happy and maybe even a bit of a flirt. In fact, he would've been not unlike Porsche who has this inner light that shines brightly onto everyone around him. But because of his horrible experiences, Pete's light has been almost extinguished. He was changed from a glowing sun into a starless night with only a pale blue moon breaking through the darkness. Pete didn't say no to Vegas, because he wanted to rekindle his original light and because he wanted a tiny bit of happiness and love just for himself.
