Beifongs making a Ghost Tale
Republic City 21XX Hours
Old Dragon Docks
Weather: Light rain – Soon to be heavy
The Republic City police were raiding an old store house that the Triple Threat was using to store drugs that was starting to pollute the city streets and as one of many bases of operation. It is Officer Lin Beifong second year on the force and Chief Toph Beifong wanted all the heavy hitters she has to take this port down. Lin was busy fighting outside of the store house while her mother was inside clearing out anyone who was standing in her way. The Officers on the outside are managing to wrap up the criminals that have been fighting and arresting when Officer Lin sees her mother get thrown out of a top floor window into the water below.
------POV----
“Damn it” she says as she jumps to the edge of the dock near where she saw her mother sink. She sees her mother trying to swim up but getting disoriented by passing fish and sea creatures. Lin shed her armor and swam to her mother and helped her shed her armor. She grabs her mother and swims up realizing that the storm has gotten heavier pushing her and her mother farther from the docks and making it harder for them to be spotted.
“Fuck, I can’t see the docks Chief and the waves are getting rough” says Lin as she trying not to panic.
“Can you see any land that you can lead us to, I don’t care if it a small ass rock as long as we are out of this fucking water” said Toph trying not think of how she completely blind in the water or not panicking about the waves completely drowning them.
“I see some land north of us, it looks like an edge of a forest, but it going to be quite a swim on my part” said Lin as she starts swim to the land that is closer than anything else. Toph hangs on to Lin’s back as the cold and wet journey starts.
“Fucking rain, fucking ocean, fucking cold, fucking everything” Toph says as Lin swim towards hopefully drier lands.
“Can you stop cursing into my ear, I am trying to focus on getting us out of the fucking ocean” said Lin slightly annoyed since it in her ear and she already irritated because of the cold. At least Toph agreed to stay quiet since she did not want to have to find her way back to land on her own.
20 minutes later they are at the edge of the forest with one catching their breath and another using seismic sense to see where to go. Lin looks over to her mother who had lost her hair band in the fight or ocean and her hair was completely straight down from the weight of the water that is in her hair. Lin hair was also out of the usual style she completely down to the middle of her upper back.
“This way should lead us to the city and hopefully the docks we got thrown off of” said Toph as she starts walking in the direction she pointed at. “You're the one who got thrown off, I jump in” said Lin as she starts following. “You must have really pissed someone off because the water was at least 50 feet from the store house” Lin said again as she remembered how they got into predicament. “My job is pissed off most criminals Lin” reply Toph.
---- Random Group of Kids POV----
“What that walking in the forest Lang” said one fire nation kid to his little earth bending friend getting the attention of the whole mixed bender group. “I don’t know they look like ghosts” replied Ling to as the so called ‘ghosts’ got into a heated discussion about whatever or something (What I am lazy and got homework to get done, don’t judge me)
Then they heard screams from the shorter ghost screaming ‘I am going to steal your souls’ and instantly bolted to the closet child house to tell the adults what happened. They got in trouble for being outside late and the parents called everyone else parents and went to investigate the area the kids said the ghosts were at. All they found were foot prints leading no were and starting no were.
----Back to the Beifongs---
“Did you really need to scare those kids” asked Lin as the docks got into sight.
“What, they were staring at us. Plus, you got to admit it was funny” reply Toph as they continue walking. “But did you have to cover our tracks and leave footprints in the middle of the clearing” replied Lin sort of annoyed. “What, how else was I supposed to make sure they didn’t follow us. Now let's get back to the dock and get warm before we both get colds” said Toph as Lin shook her head in annoyance and continued walking back to the dock hoping to not get sick.
---30 years later---
Lin, Suyin and Toph in less conspicuous clothes going to a festival that was happening on the northern side of the old decommissioned Dragon Docks. Lin and Toph face goes blank when they hear a ghost story about what happened 30 year earlier. Suyin stops and wonders ‘what up with them?’ Lin started laughing when she hears how they described Toph as a short long hair angry goblin creature.

Reposado - Chapter 23
I opened my eyes, weightless, at least 3 stories above the Atlantic ocean and ripping through the air like like a dull knife through a worn-out tarp.
It occured to me in that moment that I really don’t know how to properly dive, and hitting the water wrong is the kind of thing that can kill you. The water came up fast as I pivoted, and I hit in the simplest way I knew how - a pencil dive, feet first - and held my nose with my hand. I tried to take a huge breath on the way down, and choked on the black liquid still sloshing inside me. So when I crashed through the surface and the impact knocked my fist off of my face, and I plunged deep below with no sense of direction, I had no reserve of air, I was already choking.
The water stung in every possible way and I didn’t want to open my eyes. I tried to feel which way the bubbles were drifting, and I thought I had it, and I swam. But I had so little air. It was only a few seconds before I peeked and let the seawater in, and I blinked in despair. My angle was off. I’d been swimming 45 degrees instead of straight up. So I shut one eye and squinted the other, and swam for the sunlight.
I’d never been a very good swimmer. Right now, that would be a useful skill. But fuck, at least I’d swam a bit at all, or I’d already be dead.
The farther I went, the more I panicked. I must have been 20 feet under when I first started swimming, but how bad was it really? How close was the surface? I could barely see, and it kept looking closer and closer, but when would I get there? All I could think about was air. The liquid tickled my gag reflex and I choked again, swallowing water and getting more into my lungs. I was, somehow, about to die of drowning.
I remember thinking, “I’m not so tough after all….. I just want my mom. She’ll never know what happened to me. Shit.”
I knew I wasn’t going to make it after awhile. However far I’d gone wasn’t enough. But as I stopped thrashing and drifted in the water, I was finally able to hear a noise. The sun darkened over me, and an arm wrapped around my torso. Someone was pulling me up, up, up, up, up, up up up up up up up-
We crashed into the atmosphere and punctured our way into it. I vaguely felt like it would be polite to help, a good courtesy, but I was too soggy inside to make it happen. And while my head dipped under a moment or two on the way back, having some access to air kept me from going entirely unconscious.
I felt it when we got to the rising sand of the beach, and he dragged me up to where it was somewhat dry, and flopped me down on the sand. He seemed a bit panicked. He wasn’t doing CPR, he was saying something I couldn’t understand. Why wasn’t he doing CPR? So I balled up a fist, grabbed it with my other hand, and smashed it into my chest as hard as I could. Once, twice, actively trying to spit up water, and then I did, hurking it out, a geyser that crashed into a dribble. My arms were too weak, and I gestured, frantic, and he straddled over me and smacked me in the chest. Of course, he could actually pump in a way I couldn’t do on my own, so I grabbed his hands and guided him. He caught on, and I started vomiting water all over myself, diluted murky gray.
When I could talk, I croaked “enough,” and tipped over to finish retching up my personal swamp. It felt like I’d been breathing aerosolized stinging nettles. As I got the oceanwater and black rain combo out of me, what was left had a more obvious tint of blood. You could put it in a glass and tell people you’d invented cigarette juice. Just what the world needed.
As I lay there heaving, I noticed two very uncomfortable facts about clothing. Firstly, that I’d dropped out of the sky topless and scrambled out of my heavy jeans at some point in the water, so I was just air drying in my panties. Secondly, that my rescuer was wearing an actual one-piece male swimsuit, and therefore far more clothed than I was. I thought about hastily covering up, realized the hurry would be wasted, and wearily crossed my arms at a comfortable pace.
It was hard to talk without starting another round of choking, so I put a lot of focus into the words, “hey kid. Do you have a towel I could borrow?”
He stared at me in wonder, and then ran off down the beach. I took a look around, but laid back down after a couple seconds. It wasn’t a bad place, if you weren’t dying in it of supernatural causes. High sandstone cliffs, a toasty warm beach where sand eventually gave way to polished rock near the cliff base, and seagulls venturing back and forth between earth and ocean.
My hero came back with a sturdy blanket, which I was certainly grateful to have. I wrapped it around myself. “Well. This wasn’t how I was expecting tonight to go, but I’m alive, and I wouldn’t be without you. I owe you. What’s your name, kid?”
He gave me a very teenager scowl. “Jonas, and I’m very nearly an adult myself, actually.”
I raised my eyebrows, and humored him. “Alright then, color me corrected. Jonas the full grown man. Good to meet you, very glad to be alive.” I held out my hand, and he shook it warily. “It’s alright, I don’t bite. Well, sometimes, but not you.”
He cocked his head. “You bite people, ma’am?”
I laughed. “Not you, just women. And my age, no offense.” I looked him up and down, and had a thought that made my shoulders sag. “Oh. Shit.” Nothing to do about it but get the words out. "I hate to have to ask this, Jonas, but since we’re friends now… could you do me a favor, and tell me what year it is right now?”
He blinked at me. “The… the year?”
I squinted at him. “I’m a very soggy woman, and I’ve been through an ordeal. I’ve lost someone very important to me and fallen down a disgusting goopy hole. I think I drank a pint of seawater. And I’m a little hazy about when I got tattoos all over my body. If you could please tell me the decade that’s left me topless and cranky on the beach, it’d just make my night, pinky swear.”
He shifted uneasily and looked around. “Night? Miss, it can’t be more than half past noon.”
I gave a little shrug. “Well that’s delightful, I could use a little lunch right now. Noon on what date, Mr. Jonas?”
“Um. August 8th, 1921. Miss.” His eyes were bugging out now, and I started to worry he’d hurt himself if they got any wider.
“Mrs., actually. Mrs. Meyers.” I smiled at him, hopefully in a disarming way, and probably the opposite. Mrs. Meyers sounded like a soft-spoken teacher, and maybe I was a little soft here and there on my body - hadn’t needed to fight anything for awhile, until recently - but I still had a bit of a boxer’s build underneath.
He held his arm nervously. “Jonas Sullivan. I swim around here and look for things.”
I settled back a little bit. “That’s a nice hobby. What are you looking for out here, if you don’t mind me asking?”
He looked around, as if someone out here would be listening. Hell, what do I know? Maybe that’s something to worry about on this beach. Things aren’t always what they look. After a few seconds, he said, “I don’t think anyone would believe me, but you might. You’re already crazy.”
I laughed out loud. “I can’t even be mad at you for that one, kid. But you’re right that I’d believe you, and I’d like to know what kind of crazy that makes me. So, Jonas Sullivan, what are you looking for out here?”
He stared out at the ocean. “People say the North Star is the brightest, but it’s not. It’s actually just 48th, which is still a pretty number, there’s 48 states, it divides evenly a lot of ways-“ he fidgeted nervously. “Anyways, Polaris isn’t the brightest, the brightest one is called Sirius, and it’s called the Dog Star, or the Pup sometimes. And it’s out to the southeast, you can’t see it during the day, but it’s out there. That’s where I’m looking. And that’s where you fell out of that hole in the sky!”
I let my jaw drop a bit.
He pointed off in a direction that had to be southeast. “Right over there. I’ve never seen anything like it.” He shaded his eyes with his hand. “I think maybe that means I’m on the right track. Or at least there’s something magic happening. I don’t know, my aunts won’t teach me.”
“Your aunts know magick? What kind?” I was very curious now.
“I don’t know. I pick up bits and pieces. They say I can’t be a witch because I’m a boy.” His face was wistful, and I understood it better in that moment. “Well if I can’t be a witch I’m gonna be something. I get ideas of my own sometimes, and nobody takes me seriously. I ain’t-“ he paused. “I don’t talk about it at school anymore, I keep my mouth shut at home. A man keeps his head down sometimes, he’s gotta. But just because it’s down doesn’t mean it’s empty.”
I staggered up awkwardly, I came over, and I hugged him. Ratty old 20’s towel and all. “Hey. It’s okay. Guess what? I knew some of the best witches in all the west, and one of them? He was a boy too.”
Jonas looked at up me in a startle. “What, really?”
I nodded. “Oh yeah. We don’t talk so much anymore, and… I’m actually not sure I’ll ever get to see him again. But he was goodhearted and hardheaded, and he made the arcane a safer place. And he was a witch. Technically a priestess, even.” I looked out at the ocean and breathed in the salt air. “Life is funny like that sometimes. But it’s better to enjoy the weirdness than worry about it, when you can."
Jonas seemed ready to explode, processing this new information. He stood there frozen in place with wide eyes, just reconciling things in his brain. He started hopping from one foot to the other. “Oh heck. Oh heck! Boys can be witches! I can be a witch!”
I laughed and started (carefully) clapping along as he started dancing. I don’t know if it was a real dance, or just something he made up on the spot, but he had fun, and soon he was whooping and yelling.
He settled down for a second, giddy, and I asked him, “so what do you think? You gonna be a witch, and learn how to divine the divine, kid?”
He looked at me with a mad grin. “Oh you bet I am. I’m sorry you’re taken, Mrs. Meyers, or I’d marry you today and you’d be a witch’s wife!”
I slapped my knee. “Jonas, I am a witch’s wife!”
He looked at me in another round of awe. “You are a witch’s wife?” I did a little curtsy - I was in a silly mood, shut up. But that set off another round of euphoria for him. “Hot damn, you are a witch’s wife! Woooo! Wait, you a witch yourself?” I curtsied again, and he hollered again.
“I have never been so happy on any day in my whole godforsaken life, Mrs. Meyers, and I am so glad I fished you out today. I’m going to be a witch! A man-witch! With muscles and a wand!” I didn’t even try not to laugh, and it didn’t slow him down. “I’m going to be a witch!”
I turned it into a chant. “You’re going to be a witch! You’re going to be a witch!”
He chanted right along. “I’m going to be a witch! I’m going to be a witch!” He leaned over his shoulder and yelled for the whole continent to hear him, “You hear that, Citrine? I’m going to be a witch!”
My blood turned to ice and my thoughts disintegrated.
Up on the rocks, perched at the base of the cliffs, almost motionless except for a slowly flicking tail, was a slender black cat.

The apocalypse happened a few years ago. And- it's vague, the apocalypse. It's not some big earth-shattering moment. It's confused tv reports and impulse decisions and little growing bits of tension until the pot boils over.
The details are fuzzy; it all happened so quickly that many civilians were left unaware of what exactly went down. One day, they were living, and the next, most weren't.
Nukes, EMPs, solar flares - the survivors find it doesn't matter. One way or another, the world ended, millions died, and everything’s different. Hostile. Harsh. Unforgiving. The sun is bright and searing, and radiation burns skin not covered head-to-toe.
People are cruel and will take advantage of anything they can. If you're not a part of an already-existing group, good luck.
Somehow, two men end up on a wooden pallet floating in the middle of the ocean. Maybe it was a plane crash, one of the few still running downed by a stray shot; maybe a boat capsized, embrittled by the radiation. Same as the apocalypse, it doesn't matter. What does is that now they’re surrounded by debris and a shark thirsting for blood and there’s one thing they both know: trust no-one.
So they don’t. Names hold power, as they’ve learnt over the past few years; names imply trust. When it becomes apparent they’re stuck together and the time comes to introduce themselves, the elder of the two stares out to sea and says, “Call me...” And that phrase brings back memories of a book he’d read long ago, in the Before Days, and so he finishes, “Ishmael.”
The younger panics and blurts out the first thing that comes to mind: “I’m Gunk.”
‘Ishmael’ raises a skeptical eyebrow, clearly amused. “Gunk,” he repeats. And ‘Gunk’ nods, crosses his arms.
“Yeah, bitch. It’s...” his mind blanks, “Russian.”
Ishmael’s brow climbs further, and he looks on the verge of laughing, lips twisting ever-so-slightly upward. “Last name?”
“Uh,” Gunk wracks his brain, and something from a history class, years ago, stands out. Nearly forgotten amongst all the useless information - what he calls anything that doesn’t directly contribute to survival, nowadays - and only clinging on through his brain classifying it as ‘important’ for God-knows-why. “Gorbachov.”
“Like... Michael Gorbachov?” There’s a hint of laughter in Ishmael’s tone now, the first in a while. He tries not to let that thought depress him.
Gunk nods, relieved at the reminder of the rest of the name, even if he still can’t place it. “Yeah. He was my father.”
“Michael Gorbachov, eighth and final leader of Soviet Russia, was your father,” Ishmael deadpans, and, frustrated at having been outplayed, Gunk scowls.
“What of it?” he challenges, which makes Ishmael laugh, throwing his head back to the blistering sun high above.
“Okay, Gunk,” he says, and yet it doesn’t feel patronizing.
They both know the other is lying, that much is obvious from the constant teasing and jokes about Gunk’s ‘father.’ But it doesn’t matter, because in the slow turning of the days, they grow close. After all, there’s not much to do on a makeshift raft in the middle of the ocean, other than chat.
Ishmael is handy, and the main reason for their survival. He knows how to purify water and fillet a fish, how to add on to their raft without nails and swim against the ocean current. Gunk wonders where he picked all that up, but never asks.
(A survivalist father and paranoid brother, whom Ishmael hasn’t seen in half a decade. The thought that they’re probably still alive brings him comfort.)
Gunk, on the other hand, does most of the grunt work. Fishing in debris that floats by, diving down for rocks when they briefly dock, and the ever-important duty of keeping the shark they named Clive from destroying their miserly raft. He keeps up a steady stream of chatter through it all, and Ishmael thinks that’s what makes the monumental effort to go on worth it. Then, he wonders when he let himself get attached.
(It was a week or so in, when Gunk had fashioned himself a shelf out of the bottom of a storage bin and some planks, and proclaimed it his ‘comfort shelf.’ Gunk felt the same when Ishmael didn’t tell him to dismantle it, only pushed it aside, even though they were supposed to use that wood to repair Clive’s last attack.)
They survive, they grow closer, they hesitantly trust, and yet, they don’t pry. They don’t share their real names. Not until one day.
Ishmael goes swimming out to a nearby island to scavenge for food and chop down a few trees, if he can manage. Gunk stays on the ship - an anchor is next on their to-do list, and so he’s responsible for keeping it from drifting off with his tiny paddle. Except it’s not well-crafted, and grey jaws reach up to snap at the wood he’s standing on so he uses it to stab Clive, and the tip breaks off. The raft starts drifting away.
“Ishmael!” he calls, then again, louder, “Ishmael! Fuck, man!” But he’s nowhere to be seen, and the current is dragging Gunk awfully far out from the island.
He keeps calling, shouting, screaming, increasingly panicked at leaving his friend, the man who’d helped him survive for months, now, behind. Until his voice grows hoarse the way it never did from rambling for hours on end, and a little speck appears on the beach of the island.
Ishmael waves widely at him, and he must be shouting but Gunk can’t hear it over the lapping of the waves. So he assumes what was said, hollers, “I can’t fuckin’ come back, arsehole!” and raises the remains of the paddle over his head to clarify.
The speck stills, then bursts into motion, tossing everything he’s holding aside and shucking his shoes. Gunk can practically hear him mutter about what an “ridiculous child” he is, because although they’ve never shared their ages Ishmael’s decided he’s the elder of the two, which obviously means Gunk is a child.
And then Ishmael dives into the water, and he’s closing the distance between himself and the raft with each stroke. He cuts a straight line through the waves, until he suddenly swerves to the left. Gunk is confused a moment, before he notices - a grey fin jutting out of the water next to him.
Clive goes in for another pass, then another, and Ishmael jukes him out both times. He’s maybe five meters away, now, but the shark is coming back so Gunk screams. But Ishmael’s head is underwater, and he doesn’t hear. Just keeps going, towards safety he won't make it to.
Clive barrels into him. Ishmael vanishes underwater.
He doesn’t come back up.
Gunk is diving in before he can properly think, pushing past the cold shock of the sea, as he uses his self-taught skills to bring him to where he guesses Ishmael last was. Then, he takes a deep breath, squeezes his eyes shut, and goes under.
After a nervewracking few moments, his elbow bumps into something and he latches on, desperately dragging it upwards. They break the surface and he gasps for breath, Ishmael limp against him.
The trip back is agonizing. Ishmael is deadweight, their clothes are waterlogged, and Gunk has never been the best swimmer. But Clive is still lurking, and he refuses to drown after all this time, so he manages to drag them both back to the raft through pure willpower and spite.
Gunk collapses next to where he’d heaved Ishmael onto the planks, taking a second to compose himself. Shivering violently, he curls into a ball - he'll have to go for a spare change of clothes. His eyes drift shut. In a moment.
Then, panic seizes his heart as he becomes aware of how still Ishmael is. He jerks up, staring at him, searching for any sign of life, anything-
But a moment later he relaxes, when Ishmael rolls over and starts heaving out saltwater. Gunk reaches over and pats him on the back until it subsides, and he falls back onto the wood.
“You,” Ishmael says, letting his eyes flutter shut, “are so stupid.”
Gunk feels a burst of indignation. “Hey, what the fuck! I just saved your dumbass, Ish-ma-el.” He scowls at Ishmael’s placid little twist of the lips.
“Wilbur,” he murmurs, hands folded over his chest.
“What?”
“My name is Wilbur.”
Oh.
“I’m Tommy,” he says after a moment of silence where it sinks in, what he’d just been told, the trust laid on him, and then lays down next to Ishmael - Wilbur, now.
Wilbur just hums and wraps an arm under his shoulders, tugging him close - which is new; they’re really going all-in with this trust thing, huh? - then says, “So, so stupid.”
“Oi,” Tommy protests, but leans in closer.
Things aren’t really visibly different, after that. They still bicker, still do the same daily tasks, still slip up and call each other ‘Ishmael’ and ‘Gunk’ - though it becomes less and less common, other than with a teasing tone. They finally get their anchor, which means Tommy has the chance to go on land; though he quickly grows to dislike it after an incident with a particularly pissed-off boar.
To an outsider, everything remains the same. But to the inhabitants of the raft, it feels different. More homely. Warmer.
Once, after Wilbur chides Tommy over something or another, Tommy rolls his eyes and says, “You know, we really are like brothers.” He tries to keep his tone joking, and to not let himself hope for the words to be true.
Wilbur freezes. “Don’t say that; I’ll cry.” He blinks once to keep the tears at bay, and tries to push down the warmth in his chest.
(They both fail.)
About four months in, a light appears in the distance, at night. They angle their sail towards it and the dark shadow on the horizon. A few days later, it becomes apparent what it is: a lighthouse.
Inhabited land. Civilization.
They gather their meagre supplies once they dock, then ditch the raft in favour of climbing the lighthouse. And, from the top, off over a hill, Wilbur spots it first, points it out to his brother, who squints-
A Dome.

Little Fish
Here it is, this is my piece for the mcyt g/t enchange, and my person was @lorie-the-little-ghost! I’ve never written Karlnap before so I was supper excited to see this prompt and I hope you enjoy! Living with Sapnap felt just as natural as swimming, of course, there were the occasional rough parts, but the reward was worth more to Karl than any risks that came with sharing a house with a human. When Sapnap first suggested they were to get a house together, Karl all but glowed at the idea. He loved Sapnap and couldn’t wait to spend even more time together with his boyfriend, there was only a slight problem with this. The house they moved into was right on the seaside and while the view was truly gorgeous, Karl couldn’t help the way his body froze anytime Sapnap mentioned going down to the actual beach.
The idea of Sapnap seeing what Karl actually was terrified him, he truly loved Sapnap and as much as he hated keeping such a main part of him a secret from him he couldn’t help but be more scared of losing his love. So he agreed to move there and just promised himself that he would avoid all water while around Sapnap. Even if it hurt him every time he declined going down to the beach with some flimsy excuse. After all, the man was relentless with his efforts, and seeing his face fall every time was not something Karl wished for.
It was this current thought process that brought Karl back to the conversation he was having with his boyfriend, “Come on babe I promise it’ll be so much fun, I even packed us lunch!” Sapnap pleaded, staring at him with his best puppy dog eyes. Karl almost broke then and there, maybe if he went and just stuck strictly to the sand everything would be okay. But the little voice in his head couldn’t stop whispering about all the what-if scenarios. Ignoring how his heart yearned to be able to swim with Sapnap while in his true form.
He looked away from Sapnap, not wanting to see the disappointment in his eyes at his answer, “I’m sorry Sap but I’ve just got a really bad cramp right now” The excuse sounded weak even to Karl, and as soon as he mumbled out his answer he was standing from his chair and making his way down to their bedroom. He immediately flopped down onto the bed and groaned loudly into his pillow. Getting all his frustrations out he grabbed it with both hands and curled himself around it, trying to swallow down the guilt he felt at lying to Sapnap.
Meanwhile, Sapnap just stared as his boyfriend all but ran out of the room from him. Sighing he sat down the bag with their lunches in it on the counter and slumped into the seat Karl was previously sitting in. He couldn’t help but feel that Karl was hiding something from him. He seemed so excited to move in together yet there were times when it felt like Karl would just completely pull away from him. Thinking over all the odd encounters he’s had with Karl recently made him notice how these moments aligned with anytime Sapnap mentioned going to the beach.
Raking through his brain for possible solutions he tried to think of why Karl would avoid the beach like the plague. It’s not as if he avoided water either, as the man still took showers like a normal person. So if Karl wasn’t scared of water then why wouldn’t he want to swim? As if his muddled thoughts cleared suddenly, he was left with an answer that made so much sense he was shocked he hadn’t figured it out earlier.
Karl can’t swim.
It made perfect sense! He must have just been too embarrassed to say anything so instead, he just avoided his problem. Well, how could Sapnap claim himself as the best boyfriend if he continued to let Karl suffer alone in his embarrassment? Sapnap was determined to teach Karl to swim now, he smirked as he thought about his adorable boyfriend clinging to him as they waded in the ocean together. Taking their food out of the bag and putting it in the fridge Sapnap left the kitchen and made his way to their office where he began his research on how to teach someone to swim.
Deciding to stop wallowing in his own self-pity Karl peeked out of the bedroom trying to gauge where Sapnap was in the house. Karl was already hiding a big part of himself, the last thing he wanted to do was completely hide away from Sapnap. Walking through the hallway he saw the lights were on in the office, he gently knocked on the door before pushing it fully open and entering.
At the sound of Karl coming in Sapnap swiftly closed the tab he was on and spun his chair around to face Karl. They made eye contact and Karl gave a little apologetic smile at Sapnap, normally the younger would feel disheartened after his boyfriend declined his offer once again but knowing the truth now he smiled fully back at him.
When Karl walked into the office he was a little suspicious of how quickly Sapnap closed whatever screen he was on but with how big of a secret Karl was keeping from him he figured it was only fair Sapnap got to have his own. So instead of questioning the weird behavior he just moved on getting ready to apologize to Sapnap only to be surprised when Sapnap genuinely smiled at him, “I just wanted to apologize again for not being able to go to the beach with you but uh, I think I might’ve just eaten something bad.”
Standing from his chair Sapnap made his way over to Karl grabbing both his hands in his own and rubbing a circle gently on his boyfriends’ skin, “Hey, no worries baby, I understand and besides there’s always next time,” He let a smirk grow on his face and wiggled his eyebrows at Karl, delighted in the way he broke into giggles at his antics.
Karl seemed to stare longingly into Sapnaps eyes as he replied, “Yeah, next time.”
Next time seemed to come sooner than Karl was prepared for as normally Sapnap waited a couple of days to ask him the dreaded question again but it seemed his boyfriend had other plans for today.
Sapnap had left the house extra early that morning just to go shopping for the items needed for his swimming lessons with Karl. He couldn’t wait to show Karl the kickboard and fun assortment of floaties he had bought.
He was practically vibrating with excitement as he unlocked the front door shopping bags in hand. He couldn’t help but smile in glee when he saw Karl started as he burst in through the door and saw Karl startle.
Their current positions felt like Deja vu as Sapnap prepared to ask Karl the same question he asked yesterday. But this time would be different as now Sapnap knew why Karl was declining all his offers.
“Karl my love! We are going to the beach today!” Paying attention he noticed how Karl winced once he realized what was said, only reaffirming Sapnaps suspicion.
Biting his lip in contemplation he tried to find the words to say, “Sap I would love to, but, I just ate and I really shouldn’t go swimming right after eating.” Normally this would be the moment when Sapnap tried and failed to not act sad over Karl declining and then he would eventually give up asking until another today. Today however Sapnap seemed to only grin wider after hearing Karls response.
“See I knew you’d say that, every time I’ve asked you to come down to the beach with me you’ve always declined,” Karl wasn’t sure he liked the way Sapnap was walking towards him as he spoke, “I’ve been trying to figure out why you would say no.” At this point Sapnap was practically standing over Karl making the taller have to look up at him as he was sitting down, “And I finally know the truth.”
Karl felt like his heart was going to pound out of his chest with how fast it was beating. How could Sapnap know? He had been so careful not to slip up and expose himself yet somehow his boyfriend had still found out. “Go on, say it then.” He closed his eyes in preparation, not being able to look at Sapnap when he said it.
“You can’t swim!” Those three words had Karl startled out of his thoughts.
“I, uh what?”
“Yeah babe, I know you’ve been too embarrassed to say anything to me but I figured it out yesterday and I’ve decided I’m gonna teach you to swim.” Sapnap sounded so sure that Karl found it hard to even respond to him.
“That’s not- I know how to swim Sapnap” He weakly argued.
“You don’t have to lie anymore, plenty of people can’t swim Karl, you don’t have to be embarrassed around me,” and before Karl could even respond Sapnap was emptying the grocery bags to show his earlier purchases.
“Look! I even got stuff so that It would be easier for me to teach you!”
Karl could feel as his eyes start to swell with tears, he was so lucky to have such a caring boyfriend, if only he knew the truth. Standing up so he was now right next to Sapnap, staring down at him. “Sapnap, this was all very sweet of you but I can’t go to the beach with you.”
He could see confusion paint Sapnaps’ face as he spoke, “I don’t understand, why are you avoiding this?”
“I just can’t okay?” He turned to leave the room, desperate to escape this conversation but found his wrist caught in Sapnaps hand before he could.
“If you can swim then why are you avoiding me on this? Did I do something?”
“No, I just can’t talk about it,” He tried to pull his wrist free but found Sapnap still holding on.
“Why can’t you tell me?” Sapnap pleaded.
“I just cant!” Karl tried pulling his wrist out again at the same time Sapnap let go. Not expecting the sudden momentum Karl stumbled backward flailing his arms to try and catch his balance. As he did so he knocked a glass of water straight off the counter and onto himself.
It was as if time froze before multiple things happened all at once. Both men turned to a state of panic, Sapnap worried the glass hurt Karl while Karl was panicking over what he knew was about to happen. He could see Sapnaps lips moving, trying to ask if he were okay but his ears were filled with a ringing sensation. Karl could only pray that this time he got water on himself would be a fluke, maybe nothing bad would happen.
As if thinking about it made it true he immediately felt himself go from towering over Sapnap to now having to stare up at him from the floor in just a quick flash. He had never seen Sapnap from this angle and he could only imagine the short jokes Sapnap would make if he saw him now. That is if he was able to ignore the fishtail now attached to his body and only focused on his new height.
Meanwhile, Sapnap stared in disbelief as one second his boyfriend was in front of him and the next he wasn’t. Looking around the now empty room and not seeing Karl he started to panic and call out, “Karl?! Baby, where’d you go?!”
While Karl was trying to figure out a plan to get away without being seen he couldn’t help but hear how desperate Sapnap sounded. He kept glancing from his tail, up to his boyfriend, and then again. If not for the way Sapnap was still calling out in a panic he might not have worked up the courage to gain his attention. Drawing all his nerves Karl sat, petting his tail for comfort, he had to remind himself that this was Sapnap, his loving boyfriend, who would never hurt him.
“Sapnap!” Watching as the aforementioned male looked around in confusion he continued, “Look down!”
Sapnap hearing Karl’s voice looked down to see his boyfriend, not only tiny but sprouting a rainbow fishtail. Crouching down to get a closer look at him he saw that sure enough, his boyfriend was now a tiny merman,” So I take it this means you do know how to swim?” He joked.
Flustered, Karl covered his face with his hands, “That’s the first thing you’re going to say to me?!” God Karl couldn’t believe how much of a nimrod his boyfriend was.
“Just trying to lighten the mood” He chuckled. It still felt like his eyes were deceiving him and he started to reach out to Karl only to pause right before actually touching him when he saw Karl flinch away from him. “I would never hurt you, Karl,” he whispered, keeping his hand right in front of Karl.
Slowly reaching out he put his hand on Sapnaps finger marveling at the size difference, “It’s not you I’m scared of, it’s just your height”
Sapnap felt his breath hitch at the feeling of Karls little hand on him, looking closely he could even see little webbing between his fingers, “What, jealous that I’m taller?”
“Oh shut up nimrod!” Karl lightly smacked Sapnaps finger and gasped in surprise when he nudged him back in retaliation.
“So, a fish huh, don’t you like need water or something?” His eyes squinted in concern as he stared at Karl as if he was about to drop dead.
“To stay in this form I need to remain wet, otherwise I’ll transform back, my scales will probably dry out soon enough”
“Do you want to? Stay in that uh form I mean, If you want, I can run a bath for you?”
“Yeah actually, that would be really nice.”
Surprised that Karl agreed Sapnap perked up cupping his hands around Karl but not touching him just yet, “Is it okay if I carry you?”
Karl had never been held by a human before but if he was going to do this he was glad it was someone he trusted as much as Sapnap, “Yeah.”
Constantly looking at Karls’ face to see if there was any discomfort he slowly began to close his hands underneath the little fish. Until Karl was fully cupped safely in his hands, where he brought him against his chest for extra support, “I’m gonna stand now, okay?” He watched as Karl clung onto his thumb for support and nodded his head in confirmation.
With that Sapnap slowly stood up, thankful that he was still wearing shoes as he made his way around the broken glass on the floor, making a reminder to clean that up later. Careful not to jostle his little passenger he slowly made his way to the bathroom. Once inside he gently moved Karl to one hand, using his other to get the bath set up.
He absentmindedly started to stroke Karl’s tail while waiting for the bath to fill, awed by how much trust Karl put into him. Karl may not have got a choice in Sapnap finding out his secret, but Sapnap was determined to do anything to show his boyfriend that he could be trusted with this.
Eventually, the tub was filled and Sapnap gently slid Karl into the water, “Into the tub for you.” As soon as he said that he felt water hit his face and looked to see Karl giggling before swimming under the water.
Sapnap couldn’t help but watch in amazement as Karl expertly glided through the water, truly able to see for the first time just how pretty his tail was as it seemed to sparkle underwater. It also looked like Karl just enjoyed swimming and it made Sapnap ponder when the last time he got to transform was.
He waited until Karl popped his head above water to praise him, “You’re really fast underwater.” The blush that coated Karls tiny face was just an added bonus as he complimented his boyfriend.
“I’ve never really gotten to test out how fast I can go”
“Well let’s see then,” that was all the heads up Karl got before his boyfriend’s hand approached the water ready to chase him down.
Karl squealed before diving back under the water, and the chase was on. It was a little difficult for Karl to avoid capture while stuck in a smaller area but he was able to hold his own very well and the few times Sapnap almost got him he was able to slip out of his grasp and keep the chase going.
It wasn’t until Sapnap used both hands to fully cup around Karl and scoop him out of the water completely did he admit defeat,” Sapnap,” Karl whined, “that’s cheating,” he pouted.
“Maybe this will make up for it,” He brought Karl up to his face and began to pepper kisses all over his body, delighting in Karl’s laughter and little squeals. He finally backed off, leaving Karl to catch his breath in his hands, minuscule chest breathing heavily as he did.
“Fish or not, I love you, Karl,” Karl didn’t think his face could get any redder at this point and he used his hands to cover his face before gesturing for Sap to come closer.
At his request, Sapnap leaned in closer, going cross-eyed as he watched Karl press a kiss to the tip of his nose, “I love you too, Sapnap.”

From Now On
Ok y’all, this is super long hahahahha I’m so sorry. Happy Gruvia Week 2021!! Here’s my contribution and I’m sorry but I don’t think I have the time to do more but I hope you guys like it anyway. I hope its not too OOC and if FT had more romance elements I believe this would be possible. Enjoy!
--------------------------- Gray tousled his hair and fidgeted around the entrance, feeling nervous about the day when it was only about 10 o’clock in the morning. Today, he told himself that he had to make sure things went well and most of all, to not take off any of his clothes subconsciously. For an ice mage, ironically he could not seem to get himself to calm down and stay cool about this. Regarding his first official date with Juvia, that is.
The 100 Years Quest was over and as promised, he spoke to Juvia about their relationship and how he was finally good enough for her. Despite the water mage’s disagreement to his initial beliefs and reasoning, she was elated that Gray formally addressed their feelings for each other. Furthermore, he initiated that they ought to have a proper first date that weekend itself.
He clicked his tongue briefly and frowned upon himself as he began to manifest in some thoughts to keep himself together. Why are you getting all nervous for! He ponders, his hands getting a little clammy in his pockets. Aren’t you the Gray Fullbuster, who bravely puts himself out for others and save the world countless times?
”Gray-sama?”
Before he could go on any further, a cute slivery voice interrupted his train of thought. Miserably trying to keep his cool, he spun around eagerly and was met with sapphire eyes that gave off a different vibe from her usual self. The said bluenette had her locks half tied and wore an off-shoulder dress that was not too revealing, similar to her nature. Accompanied with her outfit was a pair of kitten heels, some accessories and a subtle blush adorning her cheeks.
”Juvia is sorry for making you wait.”
For the majority, her outfit is considered simple and chic but for today, Gray thought she looked really, really good. Dammit, he gulped loudly as he felt his cheeks started to blush already at the sight of her. He knew that the water user was attractive, but it was beginning to sink in that he is now calling this beautiful person his. “Ah—um—” Gray fumbled and looked away, trying his best to hide the redness. “Shall we get going?” She simply smiled, gave a small chuckle and placed her left hand gently on his right arm (as if he could take more), indicating him to proceed to their destination. On their first date, Fullbuster had planned to go and visit the aquarium—because the water reminds him of Juvia, but he is never going to admit it—which was not too far off from where they were. It was a good walking distance, and they had a nice peaceful time on the way there. Despite saying that, he was worried as it did not seem natural for the bluenette to stay silent. Especially today, he expected her to be more excited and be all over him. As they arrive at the aquarium, Gray went over to the counter and bought a pair of tickets and made his way back to the front, where Juvia was waiting for him. As he carefully observed the water mage from a distance, he could see that she was looking down with an expression he could not seem to grasp. ”Juvia.” Surprised, she looked up hastily to see Gray back by her side. ”Is everything alright?” ”Juvia’s fine!” She exclaimed, quick to lighten up the mood. “She’s just... a little excited—as in, we’ve never done this before—but Juvia’s really happy!” She glanced at him timidly. “Also, Gray-sama looks dashing today.” For once with the determination of not stripping everything off, the ice mage did make the effort to dress well in a brown coat paired with a t-shirt and jeans. Albeit reddening slightly at her remark, he was more concerned on the fact she seemed to not be telling the truth. Here he was, blessed to have her despite all those years of constantly avoiding her advances—and now, when she is distressed, she was still keeping herself together to not worry him. His gaze soften as the guilt was slowly crept up inside him. Despite that, the said man tried to push the matter aside for the time being and wanted to make sure the day goes well. As of now, he knew that he needed to push himself more and step up his game. Once again, her eyes met with his onyx ones as he spoke quickly. “You.. you look good, too.” Juvia’s pupils dilated while Gray blushed furiously, frowning at how embarrassed he was over such a simple statement. It was a start, at least. He also noted on how she seemed to be elated from it. Before she could ask anything else, he took her hand in his and brought them into the aquarium. He could tell people were staring as the both of them were rather known after all they have done in Fiore, but screw it. Gray decided that it was not going to get in the way of his pride today if it could. Thankfully, the ice mage started to loosen up as Juvia gleefully looked at all the sea creatures that were present. When her beloved mentioned about this place, she gladly agreed because this place was known for breeding imported fishes outside of Fiore. The water woman, being part of the sea and occasionally swimming in it, found joy learning the names and characteristics of the animals she meets in the ocean.  “So these are angelfishes!” she exclaimed to Gray, as she lightly tapped on his shoulder while pointing at the said creature. “Juvia always sees them if she takes a dive into the ocean.” “Hmm,” Gray mused, acting disinterested. “What else do you normally see?” "Juvia’s seen all of these underwater because in this tank, all of them are common sea fishes.” “Isn’t that a bore?” The ice mage rolled his eyes. “We should go see something you don’t normally see—that’s what this place is for.” He smoothly took her hand in his and brought her along. Meanwhile, Juvia lightly blushes as she realised that this incident—Gray initiating the hand holding—has been happening a few times already. Every time she releases his grasp to point or walk towards a destination, the brunet would eventually put them back together again. She glanced at Gray who seemed to pay no mind to the matter as they visited the different tanks and places of the aquarium. Indeed, the bluenette was not complaining but a little taken aback. Is this suppose to be normal? She thought, as her imagination continued to spiral on. The smooth and sly Gray-sama was taking a little too much for her to handle—even from before! Eventually, her legs gave way and she started to lose her balance. Quickly, she placed her hand on the wall for balance which caused her footsteps to come to a halt and the ice mage to notice her situation. “Juvia!” He held her arms by the sides and shook her slightly in worry. “I’m right earlier, aren’t I? You really weren’t feeling good?” “Gray-sama...” He raised a brow in question. “Yes?” Juvia took a quick glance back at him before she burst into tears. “Gray-sama is too gentlemanly and sly today!” She wailed, half in distress and in joy. “First, he chooses to dress up and pick Juvia up at her place. Secondly, he complimented her outfit she took hours to decide and still felt it wasn’t good enough!” “Lastly, Juvia didn’t want to bother him and occasionally walks on her own, but Gray-sama keeps coming back, holding her hands gently and she’s too happy that she can’t walk straight anymore!” Full of emotions, she tried to control her tears as she quickly wiped some of it away. “Juvia’s not used to it Gray-sama. You’re being too nice and cool!” At this he flushed hard, did he really hold her hand so often? “Oi!” He panicked, his cheeks continue to redden in embarrassment at her bold statements of him. “D-don’t make sure a big deal out of it. I mean—like—just calm down!” With her loud voice, the people nearby saw and heard the context of the incident and lightly chuckled in amusement which caused Gray to be conscious with their surroundings and it made him uncomfortable. He quickly took her to an area with minimal crowd and dimmed lights to spare them from all the attention. He sat Juvia down on the nearby bench in hopes to calm her down as she sniffed softly. The ice mage took a moment to stare at the bluenette who was being all worked up earlier on. Gray’s eyebrows furrowed as he run his hand through his hair in exasperation before he sat down next to her. “Here,” A cold can drink grazed upon Juvia’s cheek gently. “Drink this.” She took it with gratitude and managed a few sips, a troubled look appearing on her features as she noticed her beloved looking away—clearly upset. The water mage frowned and looked down, tightening her hold on the can drink as she quickly apologises. “Juvia is sorry, Gray-sama. She should’ve known better than to embarrass Gray-sama in public,” Surprised at herself, she started to fumble. “Gray-sama doesn’t like attention and Juvia failed to see it. Juvia shouldn’t have been so swamped at her own giddiness, Juvia was too–” “Stop it,” Gray clicked his tongue in annoyance, his bangs covering his eyes. “You make me sound like a terrible boyfriend.” “Juvia didn’t mean—eh?” It took a moment before she realised what Gray has declared and took a small peak at him. “Did Gray-sama just say ‘boyfriend’?” “Aren’t I?” “Juvia didn’t expect you to say that out...” He scratched his neck nervously, his eyes looking away. “I mean.. I promised you didn’t I? I’m going to become a man good enough for you. If I can’t even say that out, I’m worse than flamebrain.” As much as she was feeling touched, she couldn’t help but worry. “Juvia doesn’t want to force you to change, Gray-sama.” “I’m not forcing myself.” “But Gray-sama kept forcing himself to make sure that we held hands—” “Because I wanted to!” Pupils dilated once again as she was struck with confusion. Fullbuster, flushed and embarrassed at what he just blurted out, grew annoyed at her denseness and tousled his hair once more before speaking up. “Dammit woman, why are you making me say all these sappy shit...” “Look,” He sighed before looking back at her once again, determined. “Every time we hold hands, I always try to play it cool but damn—it’s stupid to say this as a grown man but I get so nervous and happy about it. I kept wanting you close to me....” Gray felt annoyed at his frenzied heart as he continued to speak his feelings aloud. “I really want to be better for you, Juvia. I don’t want you to always make it easy for me. I want to return the favour back as much as I can.”  Before he went on, the ice mage narrowed his eyes in dismay and looked away as he gripped his knuckles tightly. “But this whole time, I kept making you cry and get upset. Even now, I don’t even know how to make you feel better when you’re always here for me previously. Instead, I chose to take us somewhere else and frown about it because I was a coward.... I’m sorry.” The ice mage mumbled at the end of his sentence, but Juvia could make out his words anytime. It was funny, really. All her life, the water mage was contented on loving him without expecting anything much back. Now, when it was becoming a reality, Juvia’s heart swelled. For once, her mind went blank on how to express these thoughts aloud. Loving Gray has been wonderful, but being loved back by him now was even better than she could ever imagined. She placed a hand on his cheek in efforts to cheer him up and as he turned back—in his opinion, Gray was greeted with the most alluring smile he has ever seen. “Thank you for trying so hard, Gray-sama.” She spoke in the most loving voice she could muster. “Juvia loves you very much.” In that moment, his gaze softened as he swiftly took away her hand that was on his face into his own, lacing them together. Tightening his hold on her said hand, Gray took her cheek in with his other free palm. The ice mage took a good look at her before he slowly leaned in. He heard Juvia uttered something out of confusion, but he paid no mind to it. Because in that moment, all he could think of was how much he adored her kindness, love and patience.  In the dim lighting and quiet section of the aquarium, his lips met hers in a chaste kiss as response to her statement earlier on. Frankly, the ice mage did not know what to say either as he nervously pulled away to check on her reaction. When his eyes slowly opened and met with hers, Gray could not help but smile back at his girl whose cheeks were now flushed in surprise. He let out a slight chuckle and squeezed her hand lovingly as he could tell that the water mage was clearly still processing the kiss. It was embarrassing, he admitted, but he did not regret doing so. He had nothing to hide anyways. “Shall we continue on with our date?”
After all, Juvia was his to keep from now on.

"Not My Yacht" *Chapter 1?*
Tumblr media
So this is interesting:
So "Not My Yacht" was my very first fic. Like, I'm talking VERY VERY first.
So when I started asking around about ideas for a new series, a few of my lovelies went through my one shots and this story and "Doodling" got some good votes.
So, I decided to include the one shot and just added to it for a POTENTIAL new series. We'll see how this chapter goes over.
Also I'll be including Rita Calhoun in this for the FIRST time ever, so I may need assistance from @storiesofsvu to get her voice right. I did my best here. I'll be honest I've never really watched her, just that one where that guy blackmailed her or something.
Also Also, if it wasn't obvious enough this is obviously the beginning of the SVU episode "Her Negations".
I don't want to give anything away because I haven't even really thought that far, but I'm 95% sure this is going to turn in a William Lewis situation fic. So...pretty dark. I'm just warning you NOW.

And yes, the results are in. There is a part 2!
You breathed in the salty air of the sea of the sunny South Hampton shore; It was a beautiful day for a yacht party.
You walked along the pier as you got closer to your boss’s boat: The Crime Wave. Her husband’s idea of a funny name she claimed as she had invited people from the office to this soiree. You were lucky to even get an invite, just being the assistant to the owner of the law firm. “Who else is going to help me dodge boring conversations with men who just wanted a "free ride” on the bosses boat?“ She had teased you; or at least you hoped she was kidding.
You really wanted to just relax and mingle among the elite lawyers of NYC, seeing as you wanted to be one of them someday.
You saw your boss, Rita Calhoun waving you down as you reached the dock space.
"Ah! There you are, for a minute I thought I’d have to mix my own drinks!” She laughed with a wink. You laugh nervously, unable to discern if she was kidding.
“Calm down sweetie, I’m a big girl. Besides, I like to make them myself, strong,” she laughed again, patting your shoulder. Crap had your face looked that panicked? Keep it cool!
“Go ahead, enjoy yourself. I’ll be here, making sure none of those damn punks tries to sneak on here for free booze,” she scoffed, nodding to a group of highly dressed teens playing chicken on the shoreline.
You nodded with a half laugh, stepping onto the yacht. It was a decent size, a second level deck and a very spacious main level. Not a lot of people had arrived yet, so you decided to pick a spot on the yachts back bench area before all the seating was taken. You began removing your over clothes revealing your swimming wear when you hear Rita greet someone else.
“Ah, Barba. You know we have flare guns on board,”
You turn to see the ADA of New York, Rafael Barba. He’s dressed in a windbreaker and what could be either a dark red or salmon polo. You realize Mrs. Calhoun is referring to the almost neon yellow color of the windbreaker, and you can’t help but giggle. It must have been way too loud because they both turn to you which caused you to immediately shut up and go back to undressing and laying out your towel, but ever so slightly still honed in on the conversation.
“You can never be too careful Rita, who knows how many enemies I’ve made in this town; someone might throw me over,” he smirked.
“And anyone here could make it look like a very convincing accident….even my aspiring protege over there,” Rita nods over to you, knowing full well what you were doing.
Barba turned and looked at you, your body frozen in mid towel thrust. You didn’t know whether to throw it over yourself or just run off the boat right there.
“I know it’s an awful jacket dear, you don’t have to keep staring at him.” She called over to you. God why did she have to be so….her.
“Jesus Rita give the girl a break, or did you invite her just to torture her on unbillable hours?” Barba scoffed with a half smile, walking over to you.
“Is it really worth the minimum wage to put up with her?” He asked.
“Mmm…it’s more for the experience, honestly.” You replied surprisingly smoothly.
“Oh….well I mean I could give you the experience without–” He started but was interrupted by your boss’s loud exclaiming.
“Yeah I’ll BET you’d give her experience Barba! Stop hitting on my intern and mingle with the adults.”
If you could dig a hole straight through the boat into the ocean you would do it right then and there.
“…..Without THAT.” He rolled his eyes, lightly flipping her the bird behind his back. You see her respond with a laugh then turns her attention back to the guests boarding.
“She’s probably been drinking since she got on the boat, yeah?” He asked you.
“I…I don’t know I just got here….” You managed to squeak out as your towel strayed from your hands. Barba grabbed it and helped you reposition it on the bench.
“Kinda windy for a yacht party, but Rita will take any chance to celebrate anything remotely resembling a boost to her ego. Am I right?” He chuckled, before sitting down on your towel.
“Just to keep it from blowing away, do you mind?” He asked, gesturing for you to join him. You nodded a boisterous “NO”, plopping next to him on the bench.
“I’m Rafael Barba,” he extended his hand to you, which you took and shook gently, praying to God he didn’t notice you were literally shaking. You had probably had the biggest crush on him since you started working with Mrs. Calhoun, he was constantly in her office challenging her with warrants and favors.
“Oh yeah I know,” you blurted out, mentally facepalming immediately.
“I see….” He raised an eyebrow. “And you are….?”
You were about to answer when his phone went off. He answered it putting one finger up and mouthing the words “one second.”
“Barba. Yeah….what? Seriously, Olivia? On a Sunday?!” He groaned into his phone with an exaggerated eye roll. He raised his hand and ran it over his face begrudgingly as he talked.
“Yeah….alright, fine. Yeah I’ll be there, give me an hour. I’m in the Hamptons. Because it’s my day off, Liv! Do you think I lock myself in my office over the weekends like a vampire in a coffin? Yeah…I’m sorry, I just…” He glanced at you.
“I was enjoying my Sunday.” He gave you a small sad smile.
“Yeah. Ok. See you soon.” He hung up the phone with an exasperated sigh.
“I’m sorry, I gotta go back to the city. Don’t let Rita push you around too much, okay?” He chuckled, rubbing the top of your head like a puppy. You felt your face scrunch up in annoyance, seriously? He thought of you as a kid?!
He obviously noticed, and quickly held out his hand again very sternly.
“Sorry, future counselor.” He said in an overly serious tone, and you couldn’t stop yourself from giggling. Again. Like an idiot.
Relieved he had fixed his faux paux, he gave you one last beautiful Barba grin as he jogged over to Rita and told her something before nodding to you once again, then walked off the boat and disappearing down the pier.
Your boss sauntered over to you, a shit eating grin across her face.
“Well Cinderella, you sure kept that cool.” She gestured for your phone beside you.
“Be sure to tell him your name this time,” she winked, handing it back to you. You glanced down at it as she walked away; she had added a number to your contacts.
“BHole Barba.” You laughed out loud. Nice. Maybe she wasn’t such a horrible boss after all….
--------------
By Monday you still hadn’t had the balls to text Rafael Barba. You had just stared at the number in your phone, imagining all the possibilities contacting him would lead to. You may have gotten so far as planning your summer wedding in the Hamptons, but nobody needed to know that.
But you had chickened out and left it alone, and now you were sitting at your desk typing up a memo for Rita when you saw him come waltzing through the door.
“Ah, Cinderella!” He smiled at you.
“Hey…” Your mind went blank, you couldn’t think of words. Wait, had he already given you a nickname?
“Cinderella?” You blinked in confusion.
“Well I never caught your name-- But I guess I shouldn’t even push it, you’ve clearly moved on and I must seem like a creep,” His train of thought proceeded out loud as he realized you hadn’t taken his number and here he was still flirting with you. Rita had given it to you, he had seen her type it in your phone. Obviously you weren’t interested, why was he pushing this?
“What? NO!” You said a little louder than you intended, actually a lot louder than you intended. You slapped your hand over your mouth after your little outburst, but to you relief he was still smiling.
“Oh? Well I suppose that’s good…” He was obviously fishing for your excuse as to why you had waited until he popped back in your face to talk to him.
“No, I um--” You racked your brain for an excuse that wasn’t “I was busy planning our lives together”.
“I….couldn’t think of something interesting to say,” You finally admitted with a pitiful sigh. You were not a good liar, and under pressure, forget about it.
Again, he still smiled-- but this time he laughed along with it.
“I mean, ‘Hello’ is always an option,” He chuckled. “Or...your name?”
“Oh!” Idiot. You hadn’t even given him your name, how was he supposed to fall madly in love with you without a name?
“Y/N,” You stuck your hand out awkwardly, Was this a ‘shake hands’ moment? Hadn’t you already met before? You stared at your hand as you moved it slightly back and forth, arguing with yourself whether or not this was necessary. Luckily, Rafael settled the argument by taking your hand and shaking it firmly.
His hands were so soft, his long fingers enveloped yours in them. You lost yourself in the moment, and before you knew it he was making an uncomfortable cough, snapping you back to reality. You dropped his hand and snapped yours back into your body like a zip cord, your face in a horrified stare.
“Oh God, I’m so sorry, that was so weird. I’m weird. I’m--”
“Well I don’t know what you were so worried about Cinderella, you’re clearly a chatterbox,” He gave you a tongued smile, referring to the word vomit you just couldn’t help spill all over him.
“Oh yeah, I’m a total word machine,” You laughed nervously. A word machine? What the fuck was that?
“...Word machine. Right,” He nodded in amusement. “Well word machine, would you mind shooting some words to my phone, or do you just enjoy this face to face thing?”
“With that face? Definitely the latter. But you can have my number anyway,” You typed a quick message and sent it to his number. Damn that was smooth! How did you do that?
Rafael made an impressed face with your line, but when he opened his phone his brows furrowed.
“Hit?” He gave you a curious look as he read the text out loud.
“Fuck it was supposed to be ‘hi’-- stupid autocorrect,” You muttered angrily. Yeah, that was more like you.
“Oh yes, the dreaded autocorrect,” He nodded while saving your number. “Turning fucks into ducks since 2011,”
“Oh I didn’t have a phone in 7th grade but I’ll take your word for it,” You laughed, but stopped when his face twisted into a mix of horror and discomfort when he realized how young you actually were.
Dammit. Why...why would you do this?
“....Right, is Rita in?” He quickly shoved his phone back in his pocket and headed into Rita’s office before you could answer.
“...Idiot!” You yelled at yourself as your hands went over your face and your face planted into your desk.
Well, that was nice while it lasted. All 2.5 seconds of it.
-----------------
“Well Barba, about time,” Rita smirked as Rafael abruptly burst into her office trying to get away from you. “Done flirting with the intern are we?”
“Shut up,” He rolled his eyes, though his face was a deep shade of red.
“Oh no, what happened? Did your dentures fall out in front of her?” She smirked.
“I’m younger than you!!” He scoffed.
“Yeah but I’m not the one trying to boff a 25 year old,” She smirked harder, making Rafael angrier.
“Can I just get the warrant I came here for, Rita?” He huffed.
“Oooh, struck a nerve there, did I?” Rita chuckled as she grabbed some papers from her desk and started to hand them to him. “Barba, for the record I’m really not judging you. If I were 20 years younger, I’d hit it too,”
“Excuse me?”
“I had a lot of ‘cats’ in college,” She winked.
“Wow,” Rafael held up his hands. “Rita, we really don’t need to be that personal.”
“Fine, but all I’m saying is if you like the girl, don’t let a stupid thing like age deter you. Don’t tell her I said this, but she’s actually very competent and organized. I would almost prefer her not to graduate, unless she'd come work for me. She’s going to be a hell of a lawyer,” She gestured outside to your desk.
Rafael looked at the ground as he mulled over what she was saying, a small smile crawled across his lips as she complimented your potential.
“I’ll take that under advisement, Mrs. Calhoun,” He nodded as he walked towards the door with the papers in his hand, a huge smile across his face now.
He walked out to find you cursing at yourself and whimpering in embarrassment at your desk. When you heard the door shut you snapped to attention and stared at him, shocked he hadn't sprinted out of the office like Usain Bolt. Even more shocking was that Cheshire cat grin now upon his face.
“I-I’m sorry, I totally meant I was--” You tried doing math trying to make yourself reasonably older.
“It’s fine,” He chuckled as he put a hand over your counting fingers. You blushed at the touch of his skin on yours again, but quickly shoved your hands under the desk nervously as you tried not to look him square in the eye. His eyes were so gorgeous you were positive staring straight into them would actually get you pregnant.
“So does Rita ever unchain you from this desk?” He smirked as he was now very aware and very amused at how nervous he made you. He may be old, but clearly he’s still got it.
“Oh yeah, if I ask very nicely she let’s me--” You tried to think of something witty, but it wasn’t coming with him staring at you with those eyes. “....Yes,” You wanted to put your hands over your face but you didn’t want it to be a ‘thing’.
“Well, maybe if you’re an extra good girl she’ll let you off your leash early tonight,” He winked.
“....Am I a dog or a toddler in that situation?” You were genuinely asking, but Rafael clearly realized how insulting that must have seemed.
“Oh no no no, I just, shit,” He tried to backtrack but if he was being totally honest, you made him nervous. Maybe he didn’t have ‘it’ as much as he thought.
You noticed he was the one blushing now, oh my god were you making him nervous? QUICK, BE SMOOTH. BE SMOOTHER THAN YOU’VE EVER BEEN IN YOUR LIFE.
“Are you asking me out, counselor?” You did your best “sultry “voice with a bat of your eyes. Were you batting them too much? What was too much? Oh god you’ve done it for too long now. STOP BATTING.
“...I don’t know, guess you’ll have to wait for me to text you, future counselor,” He was impressed by the line, and decided to bow out before either of you made idiots of yourselves again. He gave you a wink and sauntered out of the office.
Great. Now he’ll probably make you wait two days for a--
*BEEP*
Your phone went off in your desk. You pulled it out to see a text message:
BHOLE BARBA: Dinner? Tonight?
You really needed to change his contact name. But that wasn’t the point right now. He just asked you out. Rafael Barba just asked you out. You stared at in your hands, unsure of what to do. Then you realized you couldn’t do this again, you couldn’t just sit there and imagine things, this required an immediate response.
You nervously typed a reply and hit SEND:
Sire ;)
“DAMMIT!!!” You cursed your autocorrect. You instantly sent another text.
Sure***
Before you could lecture yourself again, your phone beeped again:
BHOLE BARBA: Play
Play? What did that--
BHOLE: Okay** ;)
You typed the word ‘okay’ into your text reply bubble, ‘play’ came up in the autocorrect word list.
He was joking with you. He was flirting with you. RAFAEL BARBA WAS FLIRTING WITH YOU.
This work day could not end fast enough.

“noona!”
feeling a little tug on her pant leg, jiyu looked down and found the most adorable little mouse hybrid staring up at her. the boy looked to be about four years old, and he had the squishiest–looking cheeks and big emerald–green eyes.
but what was the little one doing out when it was night time? where were his parents? maybe it was a good thing she decided to walk to the station for work today rather than drive.
the toddler put his arms out and up towards her as his eyes sparkled. “noona...” he called out again.
she hesitantly picked him up and his arms instantly wrapped around her neck. “hey little guy,” she cooed, using her index finder to gently rub his cheek. “where’d you come from?” she asked.
the child didn’t respond, but opted to nuzzle his head into the crook of her neck before falling asleep. she slightly panicked. “ohmygod, what do i do? can i even take him with me? is that considered kidnapping—what kind of question is that jiyu? of course it is!” she frantically whisper–shouted to herself as she scanned the neighborhood for anyone who seemed to be looking for a child.
but no one was around.
she sighed before starting to walk back towards home. i guess i’ll take him with me and we can look for his parents tomorrow. but i hope the others don’t mind a little mouse hybrid.
turns out, she had nothing to worry about; the eight hybrids absolutely adored the little one in her arms when she arrived home. even san, a cat hybrid.
“he’s so cute!” san and wooyoung squealed.
“he’s so tiny,” mingi commented when he saw how snug the child fit in jiyu’s arms.
“shhh! you’re all going to wake him up,” seonghwa quickly shushed the squealing hybrids.
jiyu quietly chuckled. “i hope you guys don’t mind him staying over. i found him on the way home and he just kind of clung onto me,” she explained, although she figured the boys didn’t really need any persuading.
“look at his little hands!” yunho quietly squealed, entranced with the tiny mouse. his squeal caught jongho’s attention as he, too adoringly stared at the child’s little hands wrapped around jiyu’s neck.
hongjoong snorted. “i pretty sure we’re all okay with it,” he said, internally chuckling at how the younger ones were all cooing at the sleeping child. “besides, we all know how stubborn you are when it comes to hybrid care, so you’d still keep the little one here even if we had the mind to object.”
“you’re not wrong,” she chuckled. “now, move so i can put this little one to bed,” she teasingly jabbed wooyoung’s ribs, who squeaked at the ticklish feeling.
leaving the whining boys behind, she climbed up the stairs to her bedroom before gently laying the toddler onto her bed. he instantly cuddled into the mattress, instinctively hugging his tail as he continued to sleep. it took everything in jiyu’s willpower to not squeal at how adorable he was. she gently tucked him in, making sure her comforter was keeping him warm. once she washed up and changed into her pajamas, jiyu quietly left the room to join the others downstairs in the living room.
“he was just out by himself?” jongho asked, surprised that a child would be out by himself.
“maybe his parents didn’t realize he was gone?” wooyoung suggested, sprawling himself over seonghwa’s and her lap on the couch.
“but wouldn’t that be a bit weird? to not know your own kid went missing?” yeosang commented from the floor.
“can’t we have yuta’s help ?” mingi wondered.
jiyu slightly shook her head. “he’s currently out of the country with my father on some business.”
hongjoong pursed his lips in thought. “alright, i guess we’ll have to—”
suddenly, crying was heard from the top of the staircase. whipping their heads up to the sound, they saw the toddler mouse hybrid crying as he frantically searched for them. “noona!” he called out, seemingly looking for jiyu.
jiyu immediately ran to the top and picked him up before bouncing him softly on her hip. “shhh, it’s okay, i’m here,” she cooed as she brought him back to the couch. seeing eight other hybrids around them, the child let out a startled squeak before burying his face in the crook of her neck.
jiyu had to stifle her laughter seeing their deflated figures. they surely weren’t that scary, were they?
“it’s okay, they’re my friends,” she reassured.
the mouse peered up at her. “hyungs are noona’s friends?” he repeated, eyes sparkling with curiosity. however, upon meeting san’s eyes, his face morphed into one of child-like horror before once again, burying his face into jiyu’s neck.
wooyoung burst out into dolphin laughter. “he—he’s scared of san!” he roared with laughter, causing san to sulk.
while jiyu was softly scolding wooyoung, seonghwa slowly brought his face towards the mouse in her arms. “what’s your name, little one?” he gently asked.
the mouse slowly lifted his head from jiyu’s shoulder to face seonghwa. “m-minseok.”
“how come he’s not scared of hongjoong-hyung or seonghwa-hyung?” san pouted. “it’s just me...”
“i mean, you are a cat hybrid, san,” yeosang pointed out. “and minseok is a mouse hybrid...”
jiyu quietly chuckled before looking down at minseok in her lap. “do you want this hyung to hold you?” she asked, referring to seonghwa. seonghwa’s eyes sparkled when he saw minseok nodding in approval.
minseok curiously climbed up to seonghwa’s shoulders and sat with each leg over a shoulder. seonghwa slightly groaned at the sudden weight, but he didn’t want to deny the child of his curious adventures. “hyung’s ears. fluffy,” he mindlessly mused as he played with them.
yunho childishly squealed at how adorable minseok was before leaning over towards him. minseok looked over and reached out towards yunho’s ears, too. “this hyung, too.” yunho giggled and leaned in closer so minseok could touch his ears.
“ah...bunny!”
mingi squeaked when he realized minseok was pointing at him with an expression of awe. the mouse climbed down from seonghwa’s shoulders (seonghwa held onto him, of course), and waddled over to mingi with his arms outstretched. mingi took minseok into his lap and let him play with his ears.
jiyu and the other couldn’t help but feel their hearts burst over how cute the scene was. she fell back into the couch with a grin. “please, my heart can’t take so much cuteness in one day.”
and slowly, minseok started to warm up to them. he would waddle over to one of them and reach up to play their soft ears, before waddling over to someone else. although when it came to wooyoung, minseok tilted his head in confusion.
“h-hyung...no ears,” minseok pointed to the top of wooyoung’s head. wooyoung giggled. “i’m a dolphin hybrid,” he said, giggling louder when minseok just stared back with a blank, unknowing expression. “do you know what a dolphin looks like, minseok?”
minseok shook his head as he stared back up at wooyoung. his blank expression changed to one of happiness and eye-sparkling fascination when wooyoung presented him a dolphin plushie. “they look like this! and they swim in the ocean.”
minseok took the plushie into his arms and hugged it. “hyung...fishy!” he happily squealed, seeming so proud that he made the connection. jongho snorted, having a new nickname for his hyung.
“i-uh-yes, fishy,” wooyoung relented after seeing minseok’s excitement.
“minseok-ah,” jongho called out to him. “mr. cat is getting a little sad and lonely over here,” he said, gesturing to the sulking black cat next to him. “do you want to come say hi?”
minseok froze as he stared at san, who looked back with a small pout. it was an interesting scene, a cat hybrid wanting a mouse hybrid’s approval. minseok grabbed onto the hem of jiyu’s pants and looked up to her, as if asking for her permission.
jiyu chuckled and ruffled his hair. “he won’t bite, little one. it’s okay,” she gently nudged him towards san who was looking at minseok hopefully. with bated breath, the others watched as minseok slowly approached san with the plushie tightly held in his arms.
once he was an arm’s length away from san, minseok slowly extended his hand and tapped on san’s leg before quickly retracting it. minseok stood there for a second, anticipating san’s moves, but all san did was tilt his head as he stared down at him. minseok repeated the action again, and this time, san giggled.
deeming san as safe, minseok grinned before climbing into his lap and cuddling into san’s chest with the plushie. the others quietly celebrated, chuckling when they saw how san’s expression lit up like a christmas tree.
a few hours passed and minseok had fully warmed up to everyone. as he played hide-and-seek with jongho and yunho, their door bell sounded. opening the door, jiyu saw a boy bent over with his hands on his knees. from his state, she figured he must have ran either up the stairs or sprinted here from the elevator.
but once she took a closer look, she saw a pair of familiar ears. mouse ears. her eyes widened in recognition. “are you—”
“i’m really sorry to bother you this late at night,” the boy said as he tried standing up straight again. the boy seemed young enough to be a high school student. “but i was told by the lady at the front desk that she saw you carrying a toddler mouse hybrid...?”
“ah, are you related to minseok?” she asked.
the boy frantically nodded. “yes, that’s my little brother! i guess he accidentally wandered off from our front yard when my mom looked away to talk to our neighbor...” he sheepishly explained.
jiyu chuckled. “it’s quite alright. he’s really adorable and even managed to charm my own hybrids. come on in, i’ll go get him for you.”
the boy bowed to her out of gratitude. “thank you so much!”
“minseok-ah!” jiyu called out for the child mouse hybrid. “your brother is here!”
hearing that, the eight boys slightly deflated and pouted. minseok really did crawl into their hearts and made himself a home. minseok came running out of his hiding spot, which was under the blanket on the couch. “huh? hyunseok-hyung!”
running to his older brother, minseok jumped into his lap and snuggled himself deeper. hyunseok couldn’t even be angry at his little brother. instead, he gently flicked the younger’s forehead. “minseok, do you know how much you scared us?” he lightly scolded.
minseok pouted. “sorry, hyung...” he fiddled with the plushie in his arms. for some odd reason, he never once let go of the dolphin plushie from wooyoung.
with a small smile, hyunseok picked up his little brother and bowed to them again. “i’m really sorry, again...”
“it’s alright! he’s really fun to play with,” yunho giggled. the other seven nodded in agreement.
minseok grinned. “hyungs and i...played hide-and-seek!” he excitedly told his brother all about his little adventure. “and...their ears are so fluffy!”
hyunseok chuckled. “i see you had a fun adventure. but it’s time to go home now, so let’s say bye bye to these nice hyungs and noona.”
minseok’s face slightly fell, realization dawning on him that he had to say bye to them. jiyu noticed and she softly smiled. “you know, if you want, you can come over anytime if little minseok here wants to play again with them,” she offered.
“i-i can’t trouble with that—”
“it’ll be no trouble, trust me!” jiyu reassured. “and it seems like minseok likes that idea along with these eight goofballs,” she chuckled, seeing all of their sparkly eyes.
hyunseok smiled. “thank you, then!” he agreed before looking at the time. “ah, we really have to go now. my mom’s actually waiting downstairs,” he said. “say bye bye, minseok.”
minseok waved his little hand. “byebye!” he cutely babbled out.
jiyu smiled. “bye! be safe on the way home!”
after seeing them off, wooyoung slightly pouted at the absence of minseok. suddenly, his eyes widened. “wait my plushie—actually it’s okay, he can have it.”
“you’re all really good with children,” jiyu complimented.
seonghwa quietly chuckled. “well, we did learn from the best.”
“he—he just indirectly called us children!” mingi pouted once he realized the underlying meaning in seonghwas words.
“he’s not really wrong,” jiyu teased, laughing when the younger hybrids whined.
“yeah, children.” hongjoong snorted.

Giant mer Wilbur nomming Human Tommy because a shark was coming for him and was going to get hurt. But make it so that Tommy and Wilbur haven't met yet so fear, please :)
Oh yes! Protective mers are the best!
(Warning for safe vore. Though Tommy don’t realize this at first. Mentions of drowning and being eaten for real. And cursing because Tommy)
Wilbur liked hanging around the beach area to watch the humans. He alway made sure not to be seen. And he could never get to close because of his size. But just watching the little humans splash in the water was a good way to pass the time.
One human in particular had caught his eye today. A blonde human was farther out into the ocean then the rest of the other humans. He looked younger too.
Wilbur watched as the young human played in the water. As he was watching he saw a shark was get a little close for comfort to the human. The human didn’t seem to notice the shark though. Willbur decided he couldn’t let something happen to this little human he’d been watching. For some reason he felt protective over them.
Tommy hadn’t realized he’d gotten so far from the beach. But he was having fun so he didn’t really care. He turned in the water and he saw a fin duck under the water close to him. He immediately realized he was in danger and a shark was really close to him. But before he could even think of trying to swim away. He felt the water beneath him shift. He looked down and saw something much bigger the a shark coming up beneath him.
Willbur swam straight up at the human he reached up at grabbed the human in a firm grip. Not enough to hurt though. He realized at the panicked expression on the humans face that humans couldn’t breathe under water. He quietly shoved the human in his mouth to protect him. He gently swallowed the small human so the shark couldn’t get him.
Tommy didn’t even have time to yell as a giant hand came out of the water and dragged him under. He struggled in the tight fist trying to get back to the surface. It was no use though. Through the salty water he could make out the shap of what he thought was a merperson?! That couldn’t be right though? He was starting to get light headed from the lack of oxygen. But he wouldn’t have to worry about drowning when the merperson decided it best to just eat him. He was to shocked to put up much of a fight as he was swallowed down by the giant creature.
Willbur swam away from the beach. He kept a hand over his stomach as he went back to his little cave. He was worried when he felt the human start to yell curses at him. Didn’t he know he was safe? He should realize he was in a storage stomach. Did humans not have a second stomach? He thought.
Tommy kicked and thrashed around yelling at the creature that ate him. It was to dark to see anything. But it might be better that he couldn’t see the horribleness that surrounded him. Everything was hot and wet. At lest he could breath. For now.
Willbur got to his under water cave. It had a small air pocket so he would be able to talk to the human. He was starting to realize he might have scared the poor thing. He rose and breached the surface. He had just enough room for himself. He leaned on the cave wall. He rubbed small circles where he felt his small hand passenger.
“Hey. You ok?” He asked softly.
Tommy jumped as he heard a very human sounded voice. He realized it was coming from above him. He kicked at the soft flesh around him. How dare this beast ask if he was ok?! He had just eaten him!
“No I’m not! You ate me!” He yelled angrily.
Willbur winced at the humans tone. Yeah he definitely scared him.
“No I didn’t. You’re safe in there.” He tried to explain.
Tommy was on the verge of tears. How could he be safe. The monster was just trying to trick him.
“How am I safe inside of you? Ever hear of the digestive system?!” He doubted anyone had seen him get taken. No one would know what happened to him.
Willbur didn’t want to scare the human just keep him safe. “No. You’re not in my stomach. Merpeople have two stomachs. You’re in the safe one.” He was desperately trying to explain. “I saw a shark going after you and I was trying to keep you safe.”
Tommy paused. This giant fish person was trying to protect him? It didn’t make any sense to him. Even if he was lying Tommy wouldn’t have to worry about that much longer anyways. “That’s a shit way of protecting someone. Scare the hell out of them!” He yelled.
Willbur chuckled embarrassed. “Sorry. I really wasn’t trying to scare you. I’m Willbur by the way.” He added. The human should at lest know his name.
Tommy sighed leaning back. “I’m Tommy. How long are you going to keep me here?” He asked still nervous.
“I’ll let you out soon. Just need to swim to a human free beach.” He said relaxing now that Tommy wasn’t freaking out.
“Alright.” Tommy nodded. He hoped he wasn’t being lied to.
After talking a little more. Tommy calmed down figuring out he was actually safe. Soon Willbur went and found a private beach were he could let out Tommy. After saying good bye, Willbur watched from the water at Tommy ran off. He hoped he’d see the human again...
(Oh that’s a lot longer then I was planning... oh well hope you like it!)

Siren/merfolk au thingy-
Part 1/?
Roman sighed as Logan walked over to another door, this one looking much like the others except some weird symbol carved into the metal. “I swear, this is just gonna be another room full of documents talking about fish we already know about. Or maybe another shredded picture torn up by rats!” Roman scoffed. He was so done with exploring this abandoned aquarium. They were the only ones to enter it in years apparently, due to rumours of some man-eating creatures that lurk there. That’s why Roman came along. He wanted adventure but all they’ve found so far is useless and information about fish they’ve already done research on.
“Hey Lo, did the former owners take the fish from here?” He called over his shoulder, his eyes scanning the floor of the tank. “According to what I read about this place and it’s owners, no. Why do you ask?” Logan answered as he and Patton walked over to the tallest of the group. “Well, there are no corpses or anything. Not even bones, cartilage, fins, nothing.” He hummed, looking from the water back to his colleagues. Logan stayed silent as he thought about Roman’s words, his own eyes searching the water himself. Suddenly the sound of footsteps entered the room. The three turned to see Roman’s brother, Remus, standing near the door. “Sup nerds. Sorry to distract you from your research or whatever your doing here but Emile is freaking the fuck out for some reason. He’s still in the truck but something obviously spooked him.”
The four quickly walked out of the room and out of the building altogether, unaware of the two pairs of eyes that were watching them.
✨🌙✨
Patton hopped into the back of the trailer attached to their truck, the doors already opened. He could already hear the distressed splashing coming from the tank near the front wall. He walked over, followed by the others, and sat on the side of the custom made tank. They had learned that the mer had abandonment issues and the twins, with the help of their older brother, made a tank for Emile in the trailer so they could take them with the group when they were exploring or going to the beach. Usually Remy also tagged along but the merman was currently resting due to him hitting his head against one of the tanks rather hard when he was playing with the other mers and marine mammals.
As soon as Patton sat down, Emile quickly jumped out of the water and sat beside Patton on the side of the tank, his pink tail folded under him. Their eyes were worried and their nose was scrunched up as if they smelt something vile, their large rounded tail fins flicking anxiously. “Hey emmy, what’s wrong?” Roman asked, figuring the mer might’ve just been uneasy because Remy hadn’t tagged along. Emile replied with a few distressed clicks, their head turning to the entrance of the trailer for a second before turning back to the humans. Patton hummed a small tune to hopefully calm Emile’s nerves enough so that they could respond in human tongue.
Emile had been rescued a few years ago when he got caught in a hunters trap, which was illegal at the beach they had placed it. They still had small scars littering their back and chest, and they had to get a replacement for one of his fins due to it bending due to the chains of the trap. The group had to remove it because Emile wouldn’t be able to swim with it bent like that. Roman had worked with Logan to make a replacement fin for them though. At first, they planned to help the mer just get used to its new fin and clear the beach of traps before releasing them but Emile had other plans. They had gotten attached to the other mers and creatures at the facility. The humans even tried to put Emile back, bringing Remy along so that Emile stayed in the tank with them. Roman had managed to pick up the mer and place them back into the ocean but Remy had jumped out of the portable tank they brought them here in and followed Emile. They tried everything to get Remy to get back into the tank but nothing worked. Well, until they agreed to take Emile with them.
So while Emile was now a permanent resident at the facility, they still didn’t speak fluent human so Remy often helped them, as the coffee-stealing mer was actually human-raised and not ocean born like Emile was.
“P-Predator.” Emile had managed to spit out after a while. Another thing about Emile the others had noted was that they often were sent into a panic attack when they sensed something that could be dangerous, even if it wasn’t. Logan blinked, a few thoughts running through his mind. They hadn’t found any signs of life or anything living in the abandoned building besides rats and a nest of birds. And they knew that Emile was fine with birds and small mammals, as they had seen Emile bring back animals like a cat, except they kept them alive.
“Did you see anything nearby Remus?” Logan asked, figuring that Emile may have heard a large dog or maybe seen one on the beach of where the abandoned aquarium was placed as another cat-like trait Emile had was having an irrational fear of canines. “Nope. I was planning on letting Emile out to swim in the water but they refused quickly and basically tried to hide in the corner of the tank. All that I’ve seen are some seagulls.” Remus replied, leaning against the wall of the trailer.
Suddenly alarmed squawks sounded from the beach, making all of the humans eyes widen and look over to the beach. They couldn’t see much behind the cloud of sand, dust and feathers where the sound was coming from. Emile immediately dove back into the tank with a scared whine. “What the hell…” Remus muttered before he ran out, Roman following. Logan ran after the two after making sure Patton was okay with trying to calm the panicking mer down.
When the cloud of dust cleared the three humans' eyes widened. Blood and feathers covered the sand around the creature, as well as three dead seagulls. Each one of the seagulls' corpses had a large bite mark on the side of them, their wings being torn halfway off and skin being shown behind the torn off feathers. The creature didn’t seem to notice the humans at first as it was still spitting out feathers with its nose scrunched up, the blood from the birds must’ve overpowered the scent of the humans. Suddenly the creature's head turned to the humans, it’s teeth bared in a snarl before it must’ve noticed something about the humans. The humans than got a good look at the creature.
It looked somewhat like a mer, a long tail starting at its waist and must’ve been at least 6’ feet in length, not taking in count of its fins. Starting from around the middle of its tail and ending in between its shoulder blades just below its neck was a large black fin covered in purple stripes that ended in the middle of the fin. It’s tail fins look similar except with more of a leather-looking texture and the ends looked as sharp as knives. Smaller fins went along the side of the tail and were also placed on its shoulders, elbows and bigger ones on the side of its torso and two longer ones replacing its ears. It’s eyes were a bright purple and it’s pupils dilated like a reptiles. It’s limbs started fading into a black near the elbow, small black freckles going up its arms and covering its back. The sides of its face, torso and neck also faded from the very pale white to pure black, almost looking like spray paint. It’s hair was long and tied back with what looked like thin rope, the long dull purple pony-tail resting on its back.
Roman almost shrieked as the creature bared its sharp teeth again, a low growl coming from its throat. The blood coating around its mouth and teeth didn’t help at all either. “Woah...” Remus muttered as he took a step forward but was quickly yanked back by Logan grabbing the back of his shirt and pulling. “That thing could be a siren. Don’t approach it!” Roman hissed as he backhanded his brother on the head. “It’s not a siren. I’ve done research on them. If it was, it would’ve lured the seagulls instead of just straight on attacking them with tooth and claw. Sirens drown their prey first, and they mostly go for humans or larger animals.” Remus informed, hitting his brother on the head back.
Remus took a step forward again, leaning down slightly like the group did when they first approached a new mer. The mer-like creatures ear fins folded back as it glared at Remus, another growl rising from its throat. Remus stopped walking and instead slowly sat down on the sand, giving the creature space and not making any sudden movements. The creature blinked a few times before its expression changed. Instead of glaring, it was looking Remus up and down sceptically. The mer slithered forward little by little until it was around an arm-length away from Remus. Remus slowly reached his arm out towards the mer, who backed its head up in response for a second. It relaxed soon again but a loud screech filled the air, making the three humans instinctively cover their ears with their hands.
The creature turned its head and looked to the aquarium and then suddenly to the truck, its ears perking up. It growled again, but this was more high-pitched and seemed to almost mimic a happy squeal that they commonly heard from the mers. That’s when it hit Logan. This is what Emile was freaking out about. This was the predator they were talking about. Logan quickly yanked Remus up with surprising strength, grabbing him by the arm and then Roman and hurrying back to the truck. He let them go near the side of the truck, not answering their questions as he grabbed his gun from inside the truck. It wasn’t an actual gun, just one that shot narcotic bullets that would put mers and other sea creatures to sleep, and hopefully this creature to. “Patton! Come here and make sure the twins don’t move.” He called out and started walking away, much to the two siblings protests.
Patton did as told and came to stand beside the twins, equally as confused. Logan crouched down near the side of the trailer, focusing on the creature as it moved towards the trailer. It hadn’t noticed Logan crouched there, as it was clearly focusing on something in the truck. That something being prey.
As soon as the creature set a hand on the edge of the truck, Logan aimed and quickly shot. The bullet hit the creature directly on the fin and it let out a surprised hiss. Logan quickly moved out of sight and hid against the side of the trailer. He heard a bit of thrashing and then a small thunk. He let out a sigh of relief and turned his head to see the creature laying on the ground unconscious. “Logan! What the hell was that for?” Remus exclaimed, trotting over to Logan with the other two following. “It was hunting Emile. I think that sound we heard might have been another one of them alerting it of nearby prey.” Logan explained, pushing up his glasses with his free hand. “Now call Thomas. We need another truck just in case it wakes up.”
“You don’t mean… Logan, we can’t take this thing back with us!”
“We can and we should. If you two didn’t notice, one of its fins is twisted.”
✨🌙✨
Remus gently placed the creature into the large tank, closing the door behind him as he walked out and back to where the others were looking through the glass. The creature floated in the water for a few seconds before its eyes fluttered open and then widened. It immediately spun around, its tail thrashing wildly. It continued to look around frantically, seemingly panicking at its new surroundings. “I told you this was a bad idea specs. The thing is clearly panicking-“ Remus was cut off by a tap on some glass and the sound of splashing water. The four turned to the small tank in the corner of the room that was connected to the tunnels that went in between all the tanks so the mers could move around more. Remy was leaning against the glass, an eyebrow raised at the group of humans as a still anxious-looking Emile popped out of the water beside him. “Emmy told me about how you found a sharp-fin.” He hummed, his head turning towards the tank. “Sharp-fin?” Roman muttered but didn’t get a response as Remy suddenly jumped out of the tank and slithered over to the glass of the larger tank. He knocked on the glass in a certain rhythm the humans didn’t recognize and the creature suddenly stopped thrashing its tail and looking around, its eyes now directed on Remy. It seemed to snarl for a moment before it stopped and suddenly appeared at the glass, moving at insane-speeds despite its bent tail fin.
Remy cooed happily and knocked against the glass again in the same pattern. The humans and Emile looked at Remy dumbfounded as the creature tapped back the same pattern. “Remus, do you mind letting me into the tank?” Remy questioned, looking to Remus with big eyes through his sunglasses. “I- but that thing literally tried to hunt Emile and tore apart a bunch of seagulls! How do we know if-“ “Just trust me on this one.”
Through some convincing, Remy was eventually allowed to jump into the large tank. As soon as he was in the water, he was tackled by the creature who was a bit bigger than him. Roman was just about to run up to the entrance of the tank when he saw Remy nip at the creature playfully. The creature immediately swam off a bit away before doing a small twirl. Remy did the same before swimming forwards and tackling the creature like it did to him, the two rolling through the water. The creature nipped back but Remy just head butted it in its stomach before swimming off again and doing a twirl. The group watched the two continue to play the strange game for a while before Remy started actually talking to the creature. A few minutes of talking later, the creature hesitantly nodded and Remy smiled brightly. The creature swam up to the top while Remy tapped the glass while looking at the humans before following after.
The group hesitantly walked up to the top of the tank, Remus leading. When they got up they saw Remy resting on the platform where the door to the tank was, the creature sitting not too far away. It looked like it wanted to jump back into the water the moment it laid eyes on the humans but Remy’s tail gently curled around the others to make sure it didn’t leave. “Okay, so, this is V. He’s a sharp-fin, or a mer that stays in the deeper water or caves and hunts smaller mers, seals, and a few other things. I met him when we were just small, a bit before I was taken here.” Remy explained with a smile. Before the humans could respond or ask questions, a soft but low and husky voice cut them off.
“Hi… Sorry about trying to eat your friend.”

Fun in the Sun
Pairing: Anthony x Reader
Request: “I'd love something fun, like a day at a beach with Anthony?” - @hj-creates
Word Count: 1k
“Come on babe. Are you done with the sunscreen yet? It’ll be dark out before you’re done” Anthony asked me. “Just hold on a second” I told him, rubbing in the rest of my sunscreen. “But look at how nice the water looks, let’s go swim” Anthony said, trying to persuade me to ditch the sunscreen and join him in the water. “Okay, I’m done now. Are you happy?” I asked him, giggling to myself.
Anthony and I had rented a beach house for a weekend because it was our 5-year anniversary.
Anthony didn’t reply, he swooped me up bridal style and ran into the water with me. The water splashed up on us as he took heavy steps into the water.
“See isn’t this nice? Beautiful water with my beautiful girl” Anthony told me, once we had gotten to a point where the water was at our shoulders. “I was just protecting my skin, so when we're old and married, I will still look this gorgeous” I told him. I wrapped my arms around Anthony’s neck and wrapped my legs around his waist, and held on to him.
“You always look gorgeous” he said, kissing my temple. “I think this is going to be a really nice trip” I told Anthony, nestling my head into his neck.
We floated there for a few minutes, enjoying the peacefulness of the ocean. Then I felt Anthony jump and flinch. “What was that?” He asked, sounding panicked. “What was what?” I asked him, confused.
“I think I felt a snake touch my leg, get out of the water” he said, quickly. I was obviously alarmed by what he had said. I jumped out of his arms and ran back onto the beach, pulling him behind me. I felt like my heart was beating a million miles a minute.
I felt my feet hit the sand, and I fell down onto the blanket that I had laid on the sand. I sat there and breathed for a second or two. Then, Anthony sat down next to me, hysterically laughing. He was laughing so hard that it looked like he wasn’t even breathing.
“What’s so funny?” I asked him, really confused. “There was no snake darling, I was just messing with you” he explained, in between fits of laughter. I gave him a glare. “Are you kidding?” I said, lightly pushing his chest away from me. “Oh you can’t be mad at me sweetheart” he said, placing his chin on my shoulder and pouting.
“I thought we were actually in danger. You gave me a heart attack” I said, rolling my eyes. “You love me and you know it” he said. “Nope, not right now” I said, playing hard to get.
Anthony cupped my face and started giving my whole face sloppy kisses. “Anthony...stop” I said, giggling. “Not until you admit that you love me” he said, continuing to kiss my face and tickle my sides. “Alright alright, I love you. Now stop tickling me please” I begged.
“Are you begging for mercy?” Anthony asked me, not letting up yet. “Yes yes, whatever you say” I said, squirming under his touch. Finally, he pulled away from me and took his place sitting next to me again.
“So do you want to go back in the water?” Anthony asked me. “No, I think I want to read that book that I brought with me. Can you go inside and get it for me?” I asked him. “Of course, I’ll be right back” he said, kissing my cheek and getting up.
I stood up and grabbed the beach blanket and brought it over to the lounger chairs that we had on the beach. I sat down on it and wrapped the blanket around my shoulders. The breeze on the coast was kind of chilly. A few minutes later, Anthony returned with my book in hand.
“Here you go love” he said, handing me my book. “Thank you” I said, smiling as I grabbed it from him. Anthony sat next to me on the lounger chair.
He snuggled into my side. “You need something?” I asked him, giggling. “No, I’m just comfortable” he said, closing his eyes. I smiled to myself, sometimes Anthony was the biggest dork I knew.
I opened my book to the bookmarked page and started reading my book. After reading a few pages, I looked down and saw that Anthony had fallen asleep on my shoulder. I giggled to myself and continued to read my book.
After about thirty minutes of reading, I put my bookmark in my book. Anthony was still asleep, so I tried to readjust how I was sitting, so that I could nap with him.
As soon as I moved, Anthony jumped awake. “What’s wrong?” He asked me. “Nothing, I’m just trying to cuddle with you” I told him. “Oh, it looks like rain. Let’s go cuddle inside, we’ll get you warmed up” Anthony told me. We both stood up and walked up to the house, hand in hand.
Anthony went straight for our bedroom, he was really tired from the drive to the beach house. I changed out of my bathing suit, into a hoodie and some leggings. Then, I walked to our bedroom and found Anthony already asleep in bed, curled up in the blanket.
I smiled to myself at how cute he looked. I sneakily took a photo, that I would for-sure use as blackmail material when he wouldn’t do the dishes.
I got under the covers and curled up into his side. His arm instinctively wrapped around my waist and held me tight. “Hi” he mumbled, without opening his eyes. “Hi love, get some sleep” I told him, getting comfortable and closing my eyes.
“If you want to go swim instead of nap, we can go swim” he told me. “No, I’m good right here. And besides, I heard there’s snakes in the ocean” I joked. I felt his entire chest shake as he laughed. Then, we both slowly fell asleep.

The Epic Adventures of Malik and Leonardo
Episode 4
It was dark, cold, and wet as Malik was laying flat on his back on the wet, sandy, shore line of a beach. A bruise had formed a dark shade of purple on his forehead, his cloths were soaked for the cold ocean waters as fingers began to sink a little onto the sand as time went on for who knows how long now.
Voice: Brother, please wake up.
Malik: hm... w-what? *sits up and rubs his head*
Malik noticed a little plastic bag tied to his wrist, that looked like the other half was torn apart from it.
Malik: ... (what happen?)
Voice: Don't you remember what happened brother? What happened to the artist... out at sea?
Malik turned immediately pale as the memories of what happened came rushing back to him. The narrow escape they had with two templar agents, the water ride down the New York water canal, getting hit twice in the forehead, him and Leonardo getting sent out to sea- ... Leonardo... Leonardo-
Malik: DA VINCI! *gets up and starts looking around frantically* DA VINCI! LEO! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!? LEONARDO!!!
Malik starts running down the shore, looking around for the renaissance artist, when not a moment later, Malik makes a sharp stop as he skids across the sand to see by the shoreline someone laying unconscious in the sand.
Malik: Leonardo?! *runs over to the person*
Sure enough, it was Leonardo. He was found laying on his side shivering from the cold waters tgat have left also soaked his cloths. His beret, luck for him, was just a few inches away from his person, sitting soaked and dirtied by the sand. His wrist also had the other half of the plastic bag that Leonardo had tied around both him and Malik's wrist.
Malik: Leo! *helps lift him a bit, but keeps him on his side* Hey! Leonardo! *slaps him a bit on the cheek* Hey! come on Leonardo! Speak to me damn it!
Malik couldn't help but remember something similar like this happening once. Back when he and Altair were novices, Malik rememberes a particular time when he was trying to teach Altair how to swim. His brother Kadar was there to support them as Malik tried to coach Altair how to swim. Only for Altair to end up being accidentally swept up by the current the minute he tried to get his first stroke in. Malik had to not only save him, but also resuscitate him while his brother panicked the whole time.
"in a whisper"
Malik: "Novice. Never again." *turns Leonardo over and is about to resuscitate him*
Just before Malik could do anything, Leonardo began to move a little, when all of a sudden he quickly sat up straight and began to cough up all the sea water from his lungs, regaining his breath after the water was all out.
Leonardo: *still shaking a bit* *cough* *cough* uh... M-Malik?
Malik: *face covered in the coughed up sea water* . . . charming, but yes- *wipes the water off his face* it's me.
Leonardo: S-Scusate about that M-Malik. *grabs his Beret and wrings out a bit of the water*
Malik: *sighs* it's fine Leonardo. Belive me, you could have done worse to me while waking up from something like that.
Leonardo: *puts his hat back on his head* How so?
Malik: Well, *takes the plastic off his wrist* like you could have socked me clean in the jaw or eye while waking up.
Leonardo: *chuckles* had a personal first hand experiences, I'm guessing? *takes the plastic off his wrist too*
Malik's mouth formed a straight line as he remembered the aftermath of resuscitating Altair back to life. The first time it happened he could see Altair's chest rising and falling like normal. Signaling that he was still alive, but he didn't move other then that. Not until Malik got closer, mid-way saying his name, Altair shot up and socked Malik in the face out of reflex. Altair apologized after words but the memory of how hard he hit him just kind of stuck with him. He also remembered how his brother's worry turned into laughter at his brothers poor misfortune. The second time however, happend kind of similarly, but he ended up getting hit in the eye instead. He stopped trying to teach Altair how to swim after that.
Malik: -_- ... ya, you can say that. Let's go with that... how are you feeling?
Leonardo: Much better now. *forms a small smile* Thanks to you of course.
Malik: it was no trouble. "not the first time I had to save a drowning man".
Leonardo: *tilts his head in curiosity at Malik* ...
Malik: ... What? Is something-
Leonardo: *grabs both side of Malik's head, pulls his forehead up closer to himself and seems to be examining Malik's forehead*
Malik: Hey! *struggles in his grip* What hell are you doing!?
Leonardo: My that's quite the nasty bruise you have on your head. You need medical attention right away!
Malik: *breaks free from Leonardo's grip* I'm fine for now Leonardo.
Leonardo: are you sure? A bruise like that on the head would have knocked you cold at least for a long while.
Malik didn't want to think about how long they might have been there for, seeing how it is now pitch back in the night means they have been a drift at sea for hours. He was just glad he didn't lose his memories or got some kind of head trauma. Who knows if Leonardo would have woken up if Malik hadn't waken up as well.
Malik: ... I'm fine really Leonardo.
He didn't want to think about that.
Malik: *quickly stands up* Now let's- *almost tips over from dizziness* wow-!
Leonardo: *catches him and sits him back down* I think other wise.
Malik: Ugh- I told you I'll be ok. I just stood up to quickly... what of yourself? Your lungs were practically like water balloons when I found you.
Leonardo: I am still breathing, am I not. Though it seems like one of us will pass out not only from exhaustion, but a hit to the head as well.
Malik: *sighs* Look, once we find shelter for the night, you can mother me all you like. *searches his jacket pocket for the drive* at least we escaped with the-
Malik felt around his pocket for the drive only to find, it wasn't in there.
Malik: sh*t!
Leonardo: what's wrong, Malik?
Malik: Damn it! The drive is gone! It could have been carried off MILES out to sea for all-
Leonardo: *pulls out the drive in the plastic baggie* this?
Malik: ...
Leonardo: *chuckles* have no fear my friend, it is safe with me.
Malik: *sighs in relief* thank god you suggested that we carry it in a plastic bag.
Leonardo: Wel, looking back on it now, it wasn't such a bad idea after all.
Malik: *nods* guess so.
Leonardo: ... *looks around* ... uh... Malik?
Malik: yes Leo?
Leonardo: Where are we exactly?
Malik: ... I'm not sure? *slowly stands up this time and Helps Leonardo up*
The two turned around to see a large metal fence concreted down, sperating the beach from a roadway that was illuminated by street lights. Not to far from the road was a billboard, while the roadway continued on towards a large city.
Leonardo: ... are we still in New York? Or are we... some place else?
Malik: hm... that billboard might give us a bit more information. I doubt our phones will work, after being washed up from the shores. *starts walking towards the fence*
Leonardo: *puts the drive away and quickly follows behind*
Once they got to the Fence, Malik began to swiftly climb up over the fence. Despite getting his prosthetic arm wet, it still functioned as normal as he scaled the chain linked fence. He'll have to thank Rebecca again later for the water tight protection. Once he reached the top, he dropped down with a tuck an roll landing perfectly on the other side.
Leonardo: ...
Malik: ok, your turn Leonardo. Be quick though, I fear someone will not want us to be here this time of hour.
Leonardo: coming! ... *starts to slowly climb the fence*
Leonardo slowly made his way up the chain linked fence, making sure not to slip or miss place his footing. Once he reached the top he froze as he looked down, suddenly realizing now how tall he underestimated the fence.
Malik: ... well? What's the hold up?
Leonardo: it's uh... rather high... don't you think?
Malik: come now Leonardo, your over exaggerating.
The fence seemed to be a 12 feet tall fence. To Leonardo this might as well have been a building ledge. Malik however.
Malik: it's just a short drop down, nothing more.
Leonardo: *gulps* uh... I think I'll just climb down. *is getting ready to climb down* you'll catch me if I fall right?
Malik: *sighs* you have my word.
Leonardo: Grazie. *starts to make a slow decent down*
As he got closer half way down the water dripping from his clothes caused Leonardo to slip by accident as he began to fall the rest of the way down.
Leonardo: AAAH! MALIK! CATCH ME CATCHMECATCHME-
Malik: HOLD ON! *Jumps over to Leonardo and catches him*
The gravity pulled the two down as Malik caught Leonardo, but sadly got the worst of it as Leonardo landed on top of him.
Leonardo: *laying on top of Malik* ugh... grazie Malik... for catching me...
Malik: no trouble Leonardo... no trouble at all... now would you be so kind... as to get off of me now?
Leonardo: oh! *quickly gets off of Malik* scusate Malik. *scratches the back of his head*
Malik: *gets up* it's fine Leonardo. *sighs* now then, let's see where we are. *walks towards the Billboard*
Leonardo: *follows behind*
Once they reached the billboard. Their eyes widen almost in perfect unison as they read; welcome to Jacksonville Florida. Malik's left eye started to twitch as he kept re-reading the billboard over and over in his head.
Leonardo: uh... Malik? ...
Malik: *through gridded teeth* yes? Leonardo?
Leonardo: ... We some how seem to have ended up in Florida...
Malik: I can see that quite well Leonardo... what I want to know is... How. The. hell. Did WE END UP IN FLORIDA!!!
Leonardo: ... Well... look on the bright side Malik.
Malik: *just glares a Leonardo* how... I wanna know... how exactly there is a bright side to all this?
Leonardo: . . . At least we're not dead? *shrugs sheepishly and nervously*
Malik: . . . Heh. . . Heheh... Haha! *insane laughter* at least we're not dead he says! Haha! nahn lam namta! (We're not dead!) Haha- *slowly just falls onto his knees* Uugh... we're so screwed. . .
Leonardo: ... *puts his index finger to his chin* maybe that hit to the head did more damage then I feared.
Malik: ... *sighs* L-Look I'm sorry... I will admit... that was probably not a pleasant sight to see... it's late, we're tired... *stands back up* let's just start walking towards the city and find a place to stay... *Yawns* Then we'll wake up with a more rested minds and plan our way back home, before William comes to pick up the drive in New York.
Leonardo: *nods* sounds like a good plan to me.
Malik: good, now let's make our way over then... it's going to be a long walk. *starts walking in the direction of the city*
Leonardo: *is about to follow Malik but suddenly stops and turns around* hm?
Leonardo turns around in the opposite direction of city and notices a bright light, not to far from where he was standing.
Leonardo: *turns back over at Malik before looking back at the bright light, then back to Malik* ... *starts rushing toward the bright lights*
Malik: *walking exhaustedly towards the city* ... *starts to rub his forehead from the pain* Ugh... Leonardo... I want to apologize for... all this- and before you say, oh it's not your fault, nothing could have been done, like you always do... I just want to say that I still can't help but feel responsible for dragging us both into this mess... Gah! I shouldn't have left my guard down even for a second! ... I shouldn't have been so distracted in my own mind from the past... But I guess... maybe there wasn't much that could have been done... just... glad that your safe... Heh, I guess not being dead really is a bright side after all? ... *sighs* looks like it's going to be a long walk... just, wish we had a quicker way to get to the city.
The sound of a bus slowly pulling up next to Malik, grabs his attention as he looks up at the bus as it stops. The bus doors open, as Leonardo pokes half of his upper body out the bus to great Malik.
Leonardo: Then wish no more my friend! Hop in!
Malik: *is just stunned* ... w-what?
Leonardo: *chuckles* I don't think this a good time to get cold feet my friend! especially after being in cold waters for so long.
Malik: . . .
Leonardo: Well, come along. it's quite warm in here! *retreats back into the bus*
Malik: I... *quickly makes his way into the bus*
It was a tour bus with comfortable seating. Leonardo sat in the front second row of the bus by the window, waving Malik down.
Leonardo: Ah, Malik! Glad your cold feet didn't freeze you completely!
Malik: how... where did you-
Bus driver: your friend here saw my floodlights were on and he stopped by to help me get my bus back up and running again.
Malik: he did? *turns over to Leonardo*
Leonardo: *smiles* Si, I noticed Alvin's bus was stranded on the side of the road before I followed you.
Alvin: Yep, the man wanted to check and see if everything was ok. I told him that my bus had broke down while on my way back to Jacksonville, and he offered me a hand and helped me fix up my bus.
Leonardo: *nods* Alvin, was kind enough to offer us a free ride, to a cheap motel he knows about in the city that we can stay in.
Alvin: Think of it as just a thank you for helping me get back to Jacksonville.
Malik: I... I see... uh- thank you, Alvin.
Alvin: anytime.
Malik: *goes to sit next to Leonardo*
The bus doors close as the bus started to move again.
Leonardo: *just looking out the window, seeming to be lost in his head smiling*
Malik: ... (how does he do that?) ... hey.
Leonardo: hm? *turns to face Malik* Yes Malik?
Malik: look, I'm glad you helped the man with his bus, but next time... Tell me, if you see anything. Instead of wondering off towards it, ok? I didn't even noticed that you weren't even behind me anymore.
Leonardo: *nods* Of course, I'll let you know next time if I see anything.
Malik: Good. We don't want anything bad happening to you Leo. You know-
Leonardo: *sighs* I know, I know. "I play such an important role in history..." *his smile fades*
Malik: ... I know that I'm not good with... emotions but... I know you don't exactly like being restrained by such rules and they seem rather-
Leonardo: imprisoning...
Malik: ... *sighs* im sorry if it seems that way, but understand we do care about you and your safety and after the incident at Abstergo...
Leonardo: . . . *just looks way towards the window, with a look of anxiousness, his hands folded neatly on his lap* ...
Malik: ... never mind, I know you rather keep that in the past.
Leonardo: ...
Malik: ... (it's werid seeing Leonardo when he's like this... it's almost... weirdly... unnatural?) ... I'm sorry about-
Leonardo: it's fine Malik, *looks at him* I understand. *gives Malik a small soft smile*
Malik: ... *nods* glad you understand. *yawns* Once we get there... we'll think of a plan from there... and we'll be home in no time at all. *relaxes back in his seat a bit and closes his eyes*
Leonardo: ... *continues his gaze towards the window in thought*
Leonardo's mind couldn't help but revisit that day... he rememberes it still clear as day as if ti happened just yesterday, despite it happening only two months ago (his ability to remember things with great detail is a blessing and a curse). He really hoped that working on other projects and helping the assassins from the house would help his mind move on and hopefully forgot everything that happened that day. His eyes slowly grow heavy as exhaustion washes over him.
He remembered how it all happened, how could he not? After all, it all happened so fast, how just a simple mission as this went south so quickly. The mission was seemed easy enough, find where Abstergo was hiding one of Leonardo's old notebooks for information and have Leonardo himself decode it. However this plan was meet with great heated debate among the assassins, on whether or not Leo should even in come in the first place. One side was concerned with the fact that if something should happen to him everything would go into shambles time as they knew it now, would no longer be what it is. The others thought this would get the job done quicker and over with, considering how old they pages must be by now, they couldn't risk the notebook being damged if they were more then likely to most get into a fight with old enemies. Ezio was very much against the idea of this plan and actually tried to get people to have Leonardo speak for himself on this matter, but William proposed they vote on this matter.
They all agreed and just like that, the plan for Leonardo to tag along had won the votes, with William being the final vote. Ezio argued with William for an hour straight that this was a terrible idea and that it was best to just bring the journal back for Leonardo to decode from the safty of their home. But arguing was fruitless.
Ezio was Angery beyond degree for this and told Leonardo that if something happened to him, William would pay heavily for this. Leonardo told Ezio that maybe things won't be to bad, but Even Leonardo was a bit frightened by this decision. On the drive over to Abostergo Ezio tried to make Leonardo feel more comfortable about this whole thing, as well as no doubt trying to make himself feel a bit better. Jacob would also through a few words of encouragement and laughs in, and soon Ezio started to have a bit of pride in his voice when he was talking with Leonardo in the van. Letting him now that he'll be by his side and will keep a close eye on him while infiltrating Abstergo.
Weridly enough during Ezio's talking Malik was the first one to speak up truthfully about this whole matter.
Flash back
Ezio: Just stay close by, and don't stay to far from us.
Leonardo: *nods* I will.
Ezio: Bene! Don't worry, mio Amico, you'll be safe with us around, and I'll make sure you-
Malik: but that doesn't mean there is a chance that he could end up hurt.
Everyone glances over at Malik Who was sitting across from the two, while Altair was sitting right next to him both arms crossed and all.
Malik: ... or worse.
Jacob: *sitting next to Ezio* <whispers to Ezio> "well someone's being edgy."
Ezio: *nods with Jacob in agreement* don't be so negative Malik, he'll-
Malik: I'm not being negative, I'm simply being realistic here.
Ezio: realistically negative.
Malik: realistic none the less. Remember, you weren't to keen on having him come along in the first place either.
Malik was one of the people who agreed that this was a bad idea from the start for Leonardo to come along with them inside the main office headquarters of the templar company.
Ezio: Si and I'm just trying to help Leonardo feel less worried about-
Malik: The only reason you act this way now, is because it helps you forget and hide the possible ugly realities that might follow suit with this decision, Ezio.
Ezio: ...
Leonardo: ...
Always so ruthless honesty. Like a knight and his trusty sword of truth, slaying a dragon of lies, or defeating a wizard of illusion, even when it wasn't pretty. Leonardo will admit that it's admirable, but he himself prefers to be gently honest then brutal. Something both he and Malik had in common. They both didn't like lying, but in cases when they needed to. Leonardo isn't good at lying, even if it was to save his own life, but he will give himself the befit of the doubt that at least he could hide half the truth (when he tried to hide Ezio from guards). While Malik on the other hand, was criminally good at it, but he only ever lied when it was for assassin purposes.
Shaun: *driving the van* calm down you two save it for Abstergo.
Desmond: *sitting next to Altair* ya, come on Malik, what did we talk to you about being harshly honest. We don't need a very grim idea of how things could go wrong.
Malik: *just shrugs* just saying.
Ezio: ... *has a worried and sad expression on his face*
Leonardo: ... *gulps and slouchs a little in his seat*
Arno: *sitting next to Leonardo* ...
Malik: *arms crossed over his chest* ... you have something to say French Novice?
Arno: Er- Uhm! Uh... we'll... it's just... uh-
Malik: you know I will not apologize for saying what is true. Leonardo is a grown @$$ man, with high knowledge and understanding. He can handle a simple "reality check", as they call it.
Something else Leonardo has noted about Malik is that he would never apologize for what he knew was truth especially in this case... cause it was. No matter how hard he wanted to denie Malik's words, it was true, he could get hurt or worse on this mission. After all, this was the main headquarters of Abstergo Inc. after all, home to not only the head CEO of the company, but also where their great enemies of the past also reside in. Usually at lest three of the assassins make it home with near severe injuries. Leonardo should know, cause he had to help take carr of the three unluck assassins back to health when they got home... hoping they do- which they do thankful.
That's why they usually send nearly the whole house or at least six of them to such a mission to the enemy HQ.
Leonardo: ... *fidgety with his hands*
Altair: ... Malik only says this because it is best to mentally prepare yourself for what could happen.
Malik: *looks in Leonardo's direction and nods at him*
Leonardo: *just nods back in response* ...
Leonardo wouldn't say he and Malik were all to close, but occasionally they would work together on projects, have casual conversations every now, maybe talk a bit about this modern society, and sometimes talk about their- as Malik puts it- "Their best assassin Novice friends". Leonardo found that title quite funny, a secret nickname for the two to refer to their two best closest friends.
In truth, he likes to consider Malik as a good friend. Malik was enjoyable to talk to and they had a lot of things in common. Despite his... darkside, but none the less, Leonardo knew he only means well in the end.
Jacob: *sitting next to Ezio and Evie* ... Awkward~.
Evie: *elbows her brother*
Jacob: Ow!
Well Jacob was certainly right about the van ride begin awkward the whole drive there. When they were getting out and getting ready to infiltrate the Company building, Altair put Leonardo's movement on pause for a moment by putting a hand on his shoulder.
Altair: Hey.
Leonardo: Hm?
Altair: don't worry to much about what Malik said. Though the possibility is still present, it is rather low considering your circumstance. In fact you actually have a higher advantage on coming out of this place unharmed then any of us here.
Leonardo: oh? And why is that?
Altair: because-
Leonardo didn't know whether to believe it was just bad luck.
Altair: -you have an important part to play that will one day bring forth this generation's future.
Being at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
Altair: After all, a few things might be missing here and there, if not even important things, if something was to happen to you,-
Or maybe a jinx of some kind, despite not being all that superstitious himself.
Altair: -so I'm pretty sure Abstergo wouldn't wanna take such a risk on your life.
But...
Leonardo: huh... *smiles* I suppose you have a point there!
That sound...
Altair: *small smile* Now don't use that as an excuse to be risky ok. Ezio still has a point to stay as close to us as possable and to never stray far from us ok.
Leonardo: *nods* I shall stick to you all like glue, You have my word!
That loud and dreadful sound...
Altair: good.
Leonardo: Grazie Altair!
Altair: of course. Also, another thing.
... I was so scared ...
Altair: *pats Leo on the shoulder* don't try to play hero.

Unexpected day (Part 2)
Pairing: Draco Malfoy x Reader
Summary: Neither of you went to Hogsmeade, so this was a great opportunity to spend the day together
Word count: 3,5 K (3540)
Author’s note: Felt too bad about not uploading in so long, so I kept writing till 4 Am. Hope you like it. It probably has a cheesy ending, but that happens when I am sleep deprived.
Tumblr media
You sighed in contentment. You had a good book to deepen yourself into, and a beautiful view. The sun made Hogwarts’ courtyard look even more magical. Also Draco’s swimming figure was quite a treat to look at. You felt at peace, until you decided to look back up from your book. To your surprise you were met with an empty lake, and no sign of the platinum blond. As if he suddenly had vanished. In an instance worry pumped through your veins. You started to think over the possibilities of what had happened to him. They varied from mild outcomes to extreme, nearly impossible scenario’s. Making you gasp at the thought of it. You quickly placed your book next to you, with the open pages facing downwards to the grass. “Draco?”, you called out softly, while making your way over to the shore. Your eyes scanned over every inch, hoping to see a glimpse of the platinum haired boy. But unfortunately not even the slightest movement could be detected. “This isn’t funny”, you added as you got no reply. Even if you were worried, part of you grew suspicious. He just had gained information about one of your biggest fear, the unknowns of the depths of the ocean. Maybe he was trying to use this against you. If so, you would kill that bastard.
A minute had already passed. Your heart slowly picked up its pace while worry started to flood your mind. You looked at the water, hesitating if you should go in or not. Lakes, seas and oceans in the muggle world were already scary. Who knows what would be hiding in them in the wizard world. You had to ease your mind, before you could make your way into the water. Immediately regretting your decision. The lake’s floor was covered in little stones and underwater plants, what made you unsure of where to place your feet. Every time something faintly brushed against your skin, you jumped. You needed to fight off the urge to run back to the grass. You were terrified, but also determined to find Draco. “Come on.. Come on.. Draco, please.. quite playing”, you pleaded with an unstable voice due to your emotions. Your eyes scanned over the water, that seemed to reach further than you had expected. The distance between you and the shore had grew with each step you had taken. Your anxiety started to take over all your senses. Your hands were trembling, while unpleasant shivers crept over your spine. Your arms wrapped around yourself, in hopes to calm your panicked state. The water had reached above mid tight, making you even more anxious. “Draco, please”, you begged quietly, as a shake made its way into your voice. You were on the verge of crying. But continued to step in deeper, soaking your shorts. You took deep breathes in, while soft pleads fell from your lips. With each movement you made, more plants brushed against your skin. You bit down on your bottom lip to stop yourself from screaming, as your body became a trembling mess. Draco was still nowhere to be seen.  A soft yelp escaped your lip as a bigger object touched your skin. Probably a fish or something. But when the touch became stronger, you let out a loud scream. It was a hand. A hand gripping onto your calve. You started to kick frantically at the owner fo the hand. It was no succeed. Two strong arms wrapped around your thighs. Before any sound could leave your mouth, you got thrown deeper into the lake. Your head went underwater, while your arms desperately scrawled towards the surface. Due to your panicked state, you had gasped in some water. Which you coughed up once you reappeared above the surface. Soon you found a stable place to stand, as you tried to take in your surroundings. Your hair stuck to your face, and your clothing clung on your body. Water droplets ran over your skin, that slowly started to heat up again due to the burning sun. At least the parts that were above the water. Everything from your belly button and down was still in the cold water.
A delightful laugh started to fill your ears, but you weren’t amused. Your head shot towards the source, seeing Draco only a meter or two away from you. Even in your furious state, you had to admit how good looking he was. His hair clung to his forehead, water droplets ran down his attractive body and a huge toothy smile was plastered against his face. His angel like appearance softened your mood, but none the less you still shot him an angry glare. You stomped towards him, while he met you halfway there. “What the hell, Draco. What is wrong with you?”, while talking you slapped him on the chest, to make your point clear. Only making him smile lovingly at you. “Sorry, love”, he said, as his hands softly rubbed on your arms. “You knew how scared water made me”, you said, while splashing some water into his face. He laughed at your childish behavior, adoring the sight of in front of him. His hand found your waist, as he pulled you in closer. His body towered a bit over yours due to your height difference. “I really didn’t meant to scare you like that. I had forgotten about your fear, truly”, Draco replied sincere, holding your gaze the whole time. You raised your eyebrow at him, challenging his honesty. “I just wanted to get you in the water”, he added with an innocent smile. “Seems like it worked, didn’t it?”, you giggled, splashing him once again. Before he could do anything, you pushed him backwards into the water. “Revenge will be waiting for you”, you smirked over your shoulder, as you quickly swam away.
You playfully started to chase each other, occasionally splashing each other with water. Later on you started a tickling war, which resulted in you getting trapped in Draco’s arms. As your adoring laughter filled his ears, a smirk appeared on his face while his eyes twinkled. He adored the sound of your laughter, but you didn’t noticed that. You two just goofed around like two little children, until your stomaches started to growl. “Let’s get something to eat”, you yelled at him, as you made your way to the shore. He nodded while holding his thumbs up in agreement. You quickly ran out of the water, relieved that you were on safe ground again. As you gathered your shoes and book, you glanced back at Draco to only see him a few meters behind you. It gave you enough time to take his shirt as well, before running away. You giggled to yourself. It was childish, but you were in a playful mood. “Come back, you thief”, you heard him yell amused. His laughter followed soon.
You both rushed through the halls, leaving a trail of water. Your feet making loud noises as you ran up the stone stairs. Unfortunately you stumbled over the last stair tread, giving Draco the opportunity to catch up with you. His arms wrapped around your body in a playful way to keep you from running. His chest heaved against your back, as you both caught your breath. “Not so fast, are we now?”, he teasingly whispered in your ear, as his hands reached for his shirt. His breath fanned against your neck, making your hairs stand straight as goosebumps appeared. To suppress a shiver from going down your spine, you turned around in his arms. You were met with Draco’s beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. His beauty mesmerized you. You stared lovingly at each other, holding intense eye contact. But neither of you seemed to mind just staring. It made you gravitate closer to him, seemingly it had the same effect on him. You both stopped when you realized how close your faces were. Only a few centimeters apart. A light pink shade dusted your cheeks, while a similar shade made its way onto Draco’s face as well. You shook your head a little in hopes to get rid of your fazed state. You awkwardly stared at the ground, afraid to meet his eyes. Nerves overflowed you, as you desperately tried to find your usual playful personality. “Let’s both freshen up. We can meet each other at the Great hall”, Draco suggested questioningly. The sudden sound of his voice, made you look back up. As you did, you saw an equally nervous Draco. His hands were behind his back, while he slightly shifted his weight from his tippy toes to his heels. “Yeah.. sounds good”, you mumbled with a small smile on your heated face.
You walked in silence, a rather awkward silence. All you heard were your wet feet on the hard floor and the dripping of your clothes. The heavy tension could be felt in the air, weighting down on your shoulders. You were contemplating over something to say, until Draco beat you to it. “So, I see you there”, he smiled at you, as he rubbed the back of his neck. You hadn’t even noticed that you had reached your dorm. He had walked you there with out any hesitation, how sweet. “Yeah, I will. Don’t be late”, you joked before stepping in you common room. You heard his light chuckle in the hall, making you smile brightly. But you soon shook off your emotions. You had a challenge to fulfill. You hurried off to the bathrooms to shower. The water was a nice lukewarm temperature. The aroma of your shampoo made the bathroom smell like a soft flowery sent. Not overwhelmingly sweet, but just right enough to be noticeable. As you were done, you wrapped a towel around your body and hurried off to your room. Now came the real challenge, deciding what to wear. You wanted to look good, but not make it obvious that you were trying. You went through plenty variations of outfits, until you finally found something good enough. It was a flowy spring dress that hugged your body in the right places. It wasn’t uncomfortably tight, just enough to show off your curves. Once you looked at the clock, you realized you were running late. Even if you had showered quickly, the outfit picking had took a long time.
As you were running through the halls, you got lost in your thoughts. Many questions came to your mind, filtering out all your surroundings. This made you run into a hard body. But before you could fall back two big hands gripped your arms to stabilize you. Those hands were owned by no other than Draco Malfoy. “In a hurry”, he smirked teasingly. He wore a slightly similar outfit as before, still making him look attractive. His hair was halfway dry, curling in a soft wavy pattern. You just pulled a mocking face, sticking your tongue out at him. “Let’s just grab something to eat, shall we?”, he chuckled at your response. He intertwined your hands, before he lead you to the kitchen. Bright smiles covered both your faces, as the affection slowly felt more normal. He lead you to the basement underneath the Great hall. One of the house-elves noticed you, immediately making his ways over to ask what you wanted. His tone wasn’t the most polite, but he seemed stressed out what explained his behavior. You politely asked for a few sandwiches. Before the house-elf could go, Draco pulled him back to whisper something in his ear. He nodded rapidly, before disappearing in the chaos of the kitchen.
After a short wait, the elf returned back with a basket full of food and a red checkered blanket. You immediately knew what was about to happen. You loved picnics. You had forgotten about telling Draco. It was during a short conversation you had when you bumped in each other at the library. You had wanted to go on one so badly, but your parents had been busy. You understood though. Their work could be very stressful and draining. Each time they wanted to plan one, the weather didn’t cooperate. You were surprised he had remembered, or was it just a coincidence.  Draco took the blanket and basket out of the elf’s hands, refusing any of your help to carry anything. You walked next to him, grinning to yourself. You couldn’t keep your curiosity in any longer. You bumped his shoulder: “What is this about? Gone soft huh?”, you teased him, instead of just asking the question you truly wanted to get answered. For some reason teasing and sarcasm was your first reaction to go to. As a sort of coping mechanism whenever you felt any emotion. Draco just shrugged his shoulders, looking at the floor in front of him. You weren’t sure if you saw it right, but he had a soft pink glow on his cheeks. “I don’t know. I just remembered how much you wanted to go on a picnic. So I thought, I couldn’t let this perfect opportunity go to waste”, he mumbled quietly, making you smile brightly. Even brighter than he had ever seen before. The corners of your mouth nearly reached your eyes. A huge feeling of joy and warmth overcame you. He had remembered, it wasn’t just a coincidence.
The two of you returned to your previous spot at the Great lake. Only this time a bit farther back, so a beautiful tree could cover you. It casted a soft shadow, with here and there the sun peaking through. The tree branches swayed from side to side once in a while, its shadows following its lead. It calmed you down, making you feel at peace. You helped Draco lay out the blanket, struggling a bit against the soft breeze. His face grew a bit frustrated, as you chuckled at the failed attempts. You set the basket down onto the blanket to keep it in place, quickly sitting next to it before any wind could blow it up again. Draco came to sit on the other side of you, smiling when you gave him his food.  You ate in a comfortable silence, just enjoying the view and peace. “Thank you”, you said after taking a sip from your drink. He looked confused at you, cocking his eyebrow up. “Yeah, you know.. For doing this”, you mumbled a bit shy, feeling your face heat up for the umpteenth time. “Well, it would have been a shame if we didn’t”, he answered casually, before he went back to eating his sandwich.
Once again, you fell in a comfortable conversation with him.  You got to know even more about one another, exploring deeper topics. It was really nice. Most things people had told you about him, weren’t true. He was more caring than he let others believe. He also had a very interesting way of how he viewed the world. You easily could share your different perspectives of subjects with one another, guaranteeing in a long interesting conversation. This day really had given you a new perspective of him. You got to see his softer and caring side, where he could be sincere and open.
It was so comfortable to be around him, that you lost track of time. Only when the sun started to lower, giving a nice evening glow to the area, you realized how late it actually was. You just had missed out on dinner. But luckily Draco had asked the house-elves to pack some extra food and water. After eating those, you laid close to one another. You kept your conversation going, while adoring the beautiful evening sun that was nearing its setting time. That also meant, curfew was getting closer. “We should probably head back”, Draco interrupted the short silence. He leaned up onto his elbows so he could look more properly at you. “But I don’t want to”, you whined like a little child, “It’s so beautiful out here”. He smirked, nearing your face: “Well, I know a place were it is even more beautiful”. Your eyes sparkled at his sentence, sharing the same grin as him. You didn’t mind getting in trouble, surely not when it was to explore something wonderful. You helped him clean up, taking the basket and blanket out of his hands. It was only fair that you would carry them now. He had done it before. On your way to the kitchen, you had to carefully snuck past some people. As the previous time, one of the elves rushed to you in a stressed state. “Thank you so much for the lovely food”, you thanked the elf, while handing him the basket and blanket back.
After that, Draco dragged you up a lot of stairs. You didn’t exactly knew where he was taking you, but you had a speculation. When you reached the top, you were exhausted. But it was all worth it. The view got you dumbstruck. You saw the last part of the sunset. The sky’s pastel colours changed into a darker blue. “Wow”, you breathed out, staring in awe at the sky. You were almost unaware of Draco shuffling closer to you. He enjoyed the view as well, but often glanced down at you. Which made you blush the faintest shade of pink. You stood next to each other, breathing in the chilly spring air. A small shiver went up your body, as the wind had found its way under your clothes. This caused Draco to stand even closer, wrapping his arm around you. A nice warmth radiated from his body, making you a little warmer. His lovely scent filled your nose, as you hummed in contentment. A comfortable silence fell over you, as you adored he changing sky. Little stars made their way into the dark blue sky, accompanying the moon. It only was first quarter yet, but it still was a breathtaking sight.
“Thank you for showing me this.. It’s so beautiful”, you said with shimmering eyes that were glued on the sky. Draco looked down at you, grinning to himself:“But not as beautiful as you”. Your head snapped to look at him. You were blushing furiously, while your eyes went wide. Had you heard him right? His body was completely turned to you, while an unusual sparkle shone in his icy blue eyes. He straightened out his back as he gained some confidence from your reaction. “And while I have some courage left, I’d like to tell you the real reason why i didn’t went to Hogsmeade”. You were still to taken back by his previous compliment to fully register what he was saying. “When I found out you weren’t going, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to finally spend the day with you”, Draco finished up. You looked dumbfounded at him, questioning if you ears weren’t playing a trick on you. But as the words sank in your brain, an idiotically large smile took over your face. “Aww, that is so sweet”, You spoke, as you shyly brushed a strand of hair behind your ear, “But if that was your confession about liking me, then it may be a little lame”. Of course, even in this particular situation your coping mechanism had to jump in with a stupid teasing remark. His smile had fallen a little, which made your heart ache. “But you’re in luck, because I like you too”, you stammered out a little too fast and too eager. His smile quickly grew, as he wound his arms around your waist to pull you against his chest. He placed a soft kiss to your forehead, as one of his hands came to stroke the soft skin of your cheek. You leaned into it, enjoying his warm and soft touch. Your hands came to rest on his chest, awkwardly fiddling with the collar of his shirt. But it didn’t matter. You both were too lost in each others eyes. Too lost in the dream that had become a truth.
After a longingly gazing in each others eyes, you decided you had enough of the tension that had hung in the air throughout the whole day. It only had grown as time went by. You pulled him down by the collar, capturing his soft lips in a sweet kiss. It was odd to be this bold. But when his grip tightened on your waist, you felt more confident. You pulled him closer deepening the kiss. The had that had caressed your cheek, found its way to your neck. He kept you as close as possibly. You slowly let your hands travel over each others clothed bodies, exploring new places to touch. It only added more fuel to the fire. Your deepened kiss became a make out session. Your tongues battled for dominance. A bit awkwardly at first, but hunger hormones took over. As the kiss went on, your lips became lightly swollen. But it his lips were addicting, making you crave more. Luckily for you did Draco not seem to end this sweet moment any time soon. After this whole day, he finally had you. Even if he needed to break some rules, it was all worth it.

SERIES MASTERLIST
“Seriously?” Kie asked to Pope when he won at the cards game.
“What?” He asked confused but at the same time proudly for winning.
“You totally cheated!” She said and you watched how Pope’s face expression changed to being offended. You let out a little laugh and he turned to you.
“Y/n! You think I cheated?” He asked and you shrugged your shoulders with a little smile, playing innocent.
You got distracted by your phone making a little noise and you got it out from your back pocket, looking at the full moon picture that was on the screen. You sighed and then locked the phone.
“What’s wrong?” JJ asked silently next to you and you shook your head.
“Nothing. I have to go.” You got up from the couch and headed to the front door, but stopped once you felt a slightly tingly feeling on your nose making you sneeze, but you jumped since the glasses of water that were on the counter exploded. You stumbled back to not get wet and watched with surprise at the water all over the floor.
“What the fuck was that?!” John B asked looking at his all wet clothes.
JJ took the opportunity when everyone got focused on the water and the sudden explosion, to walk towards you. “Y/n?”
“There’s something you should know about me.” You said grabbing his hand and walking outside. “All of this on it’s own it’s pretty weird, I know. But there’s more weird shit. When the fool moon comes out I-”
“What? You turn into a werewolf or something?” He said jokingly but when you didn’t say anything right away, his expression changed to a serious one. “Do you?”
“I don’t, sort of... weird things happen to me when the full moon is out. That’s why I can’t hand out with you guys some nights. I look straight at it, I can’t control myself.”
“You get drunk with the full moon?” He said.
“Weird way to put it, but yes.”
“So that explosion was because there’s a full moon tonight?” You nodded.
“The thing is... the full moon is not out yet, and it’s already a mess, my powers went all crazy, I should go home because I don’t know what could happen when the moon is out.” You started to walk away but JJ gently grabbed your arm.
“Are you sure you’re going to be ok?” He said and you quickly nodded.
“Yeah, I’ve been dealing this for a long time. I got this.” You gave him a little smile, but he still wasn’t fully convinced.
As soon as you walked into your room, you closed your window and the curtain, making sure no light was coming inside your bedroom.
“Y/n, sweetheart! Can you come here for a second?” Your mom called you from the kitchen.
“Everything is ready.” You said to yourself while looking around. You had a feeling that this night was not going to be a normal full moon.
~
You let your body relax on the bed once you finished dinner with your parents. You watched the hour on your phone and calculated that the full moon had already been out for almost half an hour.
You closed your eyes trying to think of something to do, because sleeping was not on your mind, when you heard a noise coming from your window. You ignored it, thinking it was the tree that was next to it hitting it, but when you heard it more than three times, you got suspicious.
Your hand was making it impossible for your to see the sky, as you walked closer to your window. As soon as you moved the curtain, you furrowed your eyebrow when you noticed the boy that was on the other side.
“JJ! What are you doing here?” You asked once your window was opened.
“I brought snacks!” He said in a whisper. You let out a little smile and helped JJ go into your room. “I wasn’t going to let you spend this beautiful night alone.” He said putting the bags of food he had on the floor. “Nice room, by the way.”
“If my parents find you here, they’re going to kill you.” You said and JJ just shrugged his shoulders.
“I’ve heard that before.”
You opened your mouth in surprised and then playfully punched his arm, but a little laugh came out of your mouth.
“Did something else explode?” He asked after offering you some of the chips he bought.
You sat down on your bed next to him and shook your head. “No, fortunately. I tried to keep myself under control.”
“Y/n!” You heard your mom closed to your room so in the minute of panicking you pushed JJ to the other side of your bed where he couldn’t be seen from the door. She quickly opened the door and looked around your room. “Is everyone alright?” She asked once she saw you on your bed with your eyes widen out in panic.
“Yeah.” You nodded quickly. “Just, getting ready for bed.”
Your mom nodded not fully convinced and walked towards the chair on your desk to leave the clean laundry.
“Good night, then.” She said before closing the door.
“Ouch!” JJ said silently on the floor and you reached over to see him.
“Sorry, I panicked.”
“Yeah, no shit, dude!” He went back to the bed and then a little laugh came out of your mouth, playing the moment back in your head. “Oooh, you think is funny, do you?”
You nodded. “Kinda.” Without hesitation he pushed your body and it fell to the side of the bed, making you feel a slight pain on the side of your arm. JJ bursts into laughter and you sat down on the floor to lock eyes with him.
“Asshole!” You said and JJ just kept laughing.
“You were right, it was funny!” He said and you punched him in the side of his arm once you sat down in your bed.
“Dickhead.” You said softly.
“That’s what you get for scaring me the other day.”
“You’re never going to let that go?”
“Now that I watched you fall from your bed, I will.” He said proudly and you shook your head, but a little smile came out of your mouth.
“Well, now I have to go to the bathroom to clean my hands. Those chips are greasy as fuck.” You said getting up from your bed and waking towards the door inside your room.
“Wait, is that your bathroom?” You nodded confused at his question. “You have a bathroom in your room?” He got up once you opened the door of the tiny bathroom. “That’s awesome dude!”
“I’ve never seen someone get to excited for a bathroom.” You said confused but with a little smile for how cute JJ looked. You grabbed toilet paper and started to rub it around your hands, trying to make your fingers clean again. “Fuck, it won’t come off. I hate having my fingers like this.”
“Yeah, it’s kinda disgusting.” He said and then opened the water from the sink. You turned to him but the water went crazy once you did, making your entire chest wet.
“Great...” you said sarcastically.
You let your body fall into the bed once the tail appeared. You sighed looking at it and JJ let his body lean back on the side of the door, while looking at the giant tail on the room.
“How did you managed to keep a secret all these years, I have no idea.” He said and you shook your head.
“You and me, JJ.” You let your arm stretched over your tail but when you closed your fist to dry it off, it started to burn so bad, the water in the sink started to make smoke with the bottle of water you had on your side table.
You quickly opened your fist and looked around to see the smoke disappear.
“That was weird.” JJ said while looking at your hand.
“I had a feeling this full moon was not going to be normal, my powers are out of control.” You let your back fall on the bed and sighed after closing your eyes. You felt JJ sitting down next to you and your eyes quickly opened. “I can’t dry off.”
“Then we just wait.” JJ said and you turned your head to him, who had a little smile on his face and that made you feel better. The memory of him and you at John B’s house appeared in your mind and you turned away, feeling your cheeks get hotter. Having all of this mess in your head brushed away the fact that you and JJ almost kissed yesterday. “What are you thinking about?” He asked and you realized his body was now closer to yours, he was lying down next to you and you felt his arm touching yours.
“That I wished I was in the ocean right now.” You quickly lied and JJ just gave you a little nod before looking away to the ceiling.
“Must be pretty good to be able to swim as much as you want, not needing to breathe.”
“I don’t know If you really want this.” You let out a little laugh and JJ looked at you.
“Why not?”
“You would have to give up surfing.” You said quickly knowing that would be the main reason he couldn’t do it. And you were right. He didn’t answer, he just nodded and went back to looking at the ceiling.
Silence surrounded the room and you were getting lost in your mind, remembering the time at John B’s house. That made you asked yourself: why was JJ here?
Was he just being nice? He’s always been. But coming to your house, bringing snacks, sneaking into your room risking himself being caught by your parents, all of that because he didn’t want you to be alone?
You felt your legs coming back and you smiled when the tail was gone. “Finally.” You sat down on the bed and JJ did the same. “Thank you for keeping me company, JJ.” You said softly and he shook his head.
“Oh, it’s nothing.” You turned your head to him and he locked eyes with you. He had a little smile on his face and you couldn’t help but look at it. His lips looked soft and you wanted to see if it was true.
You looked at his eyes to lock eyes with him, but he was just staring at your lips like he wanted them. A sudden wave of courage took over your body and got closer to him, feeling his breathing mix with your yours, your hand went to his cheek to gently grab it, but when you touched it, it started to burn and you took your hand away from his face.
“Ouch.” He said softly after touching his cheek.
“I’m sorry.” You got up from your bed and turned around, face palming yourself on the inside for the ruined moment. “You should leave, it’s getting pretty late. I don’t want you to get into trouble for me.” You said still looking the other way.
You heard JJ getting up from your bed and walk over to the window. “Goodnight, Y/n.” He said softly before going through your window.
You stayed there with your mind full of thoughts and your heart going full speed. Why did your hand do that? Your fist wasn’t closed.
What was happening to you? You always wanted to be alone, you met JJ, and suddenly, you want him around and wanted to kiss him. You were glad it didn’t happen, having to deal with feelings was not the best for you right now. But deep down, you were annoyed at your powers for being out of control.
“Fuck you full moon.” You said softly and went back to your bed to go to sleep, but the thoughts you had on your mind were making it impossible.

I got explosive device and storage unit, with Gordon? :D
Finally my boi! This is definitely the last one for the day but if anyone wants to leave anymore of these Whump Generator prompts for me feel free! I’ve really enjoyed writing them today <3 Thanks for the ask, hope you enjoy x
Gordon & Explosive Device & Storage Unit
“Okay that should be it.” Gordon nodded to the storage unit personnel as the doors to the escape pod whooshed shut. Water drained from the pipes past Gordons feet before the submersible pod detached from the unit.
Underwater storage units were very popular nowadays. Mostly for industrial use, big companies used them for long-term storage. They weren’t usually staffed, except for maintenance purposes. Too bad the maintenance was the most common cause of an accident. Today was one of those situations.
The airlock doors had gotten jammed with half a meter of open space letting the unforgiving ocean overtake the facility. The escape pods had shut down due to water damage but Brains had talked him through how to override the failsafe and activate the pumps.
“All personnel are heading up to the surface now Thunderbird Two. Heading back to Four.”
“FAB Gordon, good job.”
Gordon waded his way through the knee-deep rushing water. He’d honestly have preferred if it had been entirely submerged, then at least he could’ve swam it. His eyebrows knotted together as he noticed flashing up ahead. He trudged his way forward to check it out before gasping in alarm.
He swiftly turned back the way he came, moving with much more urgency as he splashed through the water.
“Thunderbird Two, the chaos crew is here!” Gordon panted. “Fuse has left a bomb inside the facility.”
“Dammit, get out of there Gordon!” Virgil growled over the comm.
“Trying!” Gordon ground out. “I’ll go through the-“
Gordon was thrown forward as the explosive detonated. He felt the heat lick at his back even through the suit and fell painfully into the water. The flow became much stronger and debris now littered the stream.
“Gordon!” Virgil was shouting over the comms. “Answer me!”
“I’m fine, I’m fine.” Gordon groaned as he kneeled in the water.  He heard Virgil sigh in relief on the other end of the comm.
“Can you get out?” Virgil asked. “Scott and Kayo are on their way.”
Gordon looked back at where the explosive had been. The blast had further damaged the integrity of the unit, water was gushing through. The lights flickered as sparks flew from the destroyed wall.
Then he heard beeping. Turning his head, he saw another bomb blinking rapidly to his right.
Too close. Too close. Gordon thought as he scrambled to his feet but it was two late. The second explosion went off and all he felt was a searing burning before he slammed into something solid and everything went black.
*
“Gordon! Gordon, please respond!” Virgil pleaded across the comms.
He opened up another channel. “Scott there’s been another explosion! Gordon isn’t responding.”
“I’m still 10 minutes out Virgil.” Scott replied regretfully over the comm.
Another explosion rocked the storage unit and Virgil cried out in alarm as the structure continued to crumble.
“I’m going down there.” Virgil declared as he unbuckled his harness and stalked down to the module area. “John, can you remote pilot Four back to the surface?” He knew his space-bound brother was listening in.
John’s FAB was drowned out as Scott interrupted. “It’s too dangerous Virgil. What if there are more explosives? What if the chaos crew are still down there?”
“All the more reason to get Gordon sooner rather than later.” Virgil replied calmly as he pulled his helmet over his head. “I’m going.”
“Thunderbird Four has breached the surface.” John reported before Scott could protest further.
“Just be careful Virgil.” Scott demanded. “Please.”
“I will Scott.” Virgil softened. “Heading down.”
Thunderbirds Four was always an uncomfortable fit for him. His shoulders were too wide for the seat and it always felt claustrophobic. This wasn’t a choice though. He grit his teeth as he manoeuvred the small submersible down to the flooding storage facility. Moving around the structure, he started scanning it using his brothers Bird. The scans were sent straight up to Thunderbird Five.
“Anything John?” He queried once he’d been round the building once.
“There may be a small opening on the lower right side.” John relayed as a map and route appeared in front of Virgil “But the inside is flooded with debris, it’ll be hard to get through to him.”
“I’ll manage.” Virgil promised before bracing himself to be flipped backwards into the water.
He swam forward once he oriented himself, the holographic map flashing from his watch. He turned on his shoulder torch as he reached the opening. He easily pulled himself though as a small current of water was still flooding the facility. The water was almost up to the ceiling, it would be fully flooded soon.
Virgil’s first problem presented itself. There was a wall of debris currently cutting him off from his brothers location, this was going to be a slow process. He’d just started shifting some beams when a gasp came across the comms.
“Gordon!” He and Scott both exclaimed.
Virgil continued. “Gordon, are you okay?”
Gordon’s harsh breathing continued to sound in his ear. “Virg?” Gordon croaked.
Virgil’s heartrate spiked as worry surfaced once more.
“Yeah, I’m here fish, I’m coming to get you.”
Gordon moaned through clenched teeth. “M’trapped.”
“Just stay calm Gordon, what can you move?” Virgil queried gently as he started moving debris away faster.
He could hear his brother shifting through the comm before the younger blond gave a sharp cry of pain that turned into a sob.
Panic flared through Virgil. “Gords, what’s wrong?”
“The whole left side of my suit is burned.” Gordon gritted out before taking a few panicked breathes. “And there’s urghh-there’s a slab of concrete on my chest.”
There was a shrill beeping from Gordon’s end.
“What’s that?” Virgil asked, fearing it was another bomb.
“M-my oxygen meter.” Gordon groaned. “My suit was damaged in the explosion. I only have a few minutes of air left.”
Virgil heart thudded so loud he was sure it could be heard over the comms.
Gordon gave an almost hysterical laugh. “Not looking great for me is it?” His voice cracked at the end and his breathing shuddered to reveal his true feelings.
“Just relax Gords, breathe slow.” Virgil soothed, trying to keep his voice steady. “We’ll get you out of this.”
He switched channels so that Gordon couldn’t hear him anymore. “There’s no way I can shift all this stuff in time.” Virgil relayed urgently. “We need a new plan.”
He heard John typing frantically in the background. “Your laser won’t be strong enough underwater to cut through any of the walls.” John mumbled. “And Thunderbird Four won’t be able to get far enough into the facilities for you to use her laser. There’s not enough time to construct a pod-“
“I don’t need to hear what we can’t do John!” Virgil grumbled. “I need an option here.”
“I’m looking Virgil!” John shot back.
“Cool it, both of you.” Scott barked. “We need to keep a level head here. Treat it like any other rescue.”
Virgil took a deep shaky breath. “FAB. Sorry John.”
There was no answer from his space-bound brother and Virgil didn’t want to interrupt him even though the seconds were ticking by far too quickly.
“I’ve got it!” John finally said. “There’s a surface protocol built into the facility that will activate the buoyancy balloons and bring it to the surface. The control room is to your left Virgil, looks like a clear path.”
Virgil was already swimming that way as Scott spoke. “Won’t he be crushed without the water providing some buoyancy to the concrete?”
John hummed. “It looks like it’s just one slab on top of Gordon but surfacing the building could cause further structural damage, so yes it’s a risk but-“
“But we don’t have any other choice.” Virgil finished for him as he reached the control room. “What am I looking for John?”
“Red lever on the wall by the door.”
Virgil spied said lever and grabbed it, forcing it down through the resistance of the water. Nothing seemed to happen at first and Virgil’s heart sank. This was their last chance. Then the building shuddered and Virgil could hear the whoosh of air as the bags below the structure inflated. They started to rise.
“Virgil, I’ve mapped a new route for you to Gordon. Once the water drains, your laser should be able to cut through that wall to get to Gordon.” John relayed.
“FAB.” He switched comm channels again as he swam back to his brother once more. “Gordon! We’re heading to the surface, just hang tight.”
Gordon’s wheezing breath came across the comm. “FAB.”
“There might be a bit of pressure once the water drains but I’ll be right there. We’re going to get you out of this.” Virgil was trying to convince himself just as much as Gordon.
He could tell as soon as they breached the surface, the currents increased as the water started to drain away. The building groaned dramatically and Virgil held his breath but it seemed to hold.
Once the water was at shoulder height Virgil activated his laser, cutting through the top half of the wall, impatiently waiting for more of the water to drain.
Gordon gave a choked grunt when he was almost though, crying out in pain before going eerily silent. Virgil decided he’d cut far enough at that point and finished off the incision, pushing the chuck of concrete through to the other side.
He clambered through the hole and immediately set sights on his brother. Gordon was lying on top of a collapsed wall with a thick slab of concrete pinning him down. The left side of his helmet was charred black and Virgil feared for the state of his suit once he removed the slab.
His brother was unresponsive as he set up the load-bearing stands at three key points under the concrete. Once he activated them, they slowly began to raise the debris. As soon as it was safe to do so, Virgil carefully slid his brother out from under it.
He removed his brothers helmet checking his airways. Breathing was weak but there. The worst part were the burns down Gordon’s suit. From the neck to his hip, the neoprene fabric was charred and melted. Virgil could see areas where the fabric was melted into Gordon skin and he shuddered.
“Hey fish” He choked, running a hand through his brother hair. “Told you we’d get you out. Maybe open those eyes for me in return?”
Gordon face remained slack and he sighed as he took out his portable medscanner. Scott clambered through the hole in the wall, pulling a hover stretcher with him, just as he got the readings.
“Aw Gords” Scott sighed as he knelt down on the other side of him, pacing a gentle hand on his shoulder. “What does the scan say?”
“Third-degree burns all down his side, cracked ribs from the concrete, possible concussion.” Virgil grimaced as he read it off. “We need to get him to a hospital.”
“FAB.” Scott sighed as they expertly lifted him onto the hover stretcher, the lack of response from their brother at the movement was alarming.
*
Virgil sighed as he took another sip of the 4th terrible cup of hospital coffee he’d consumed. Gordon had been in surgery for 3 hours now and they still hadn’t heard anything. John and Kayo were working with the GDF to try and track down the chaos crew. Virgil clenched his fists. They’d gone too far this this time. He had no more chances left to give them.
“I think we should do some more underwater rescue training.” Virgil said suddenly. Scott, the only other occupant in the room, turned towards him.
Virgil continued. “We’re out of practice. Gordon deserves to know he can count on us when he needs it.”
“You think he can’t?” Scott queried.
Virgil shrugged. “I’m just always so out of my element down there.”
“You saved him today.”
“John came up with the plan.” Virgil still had to apologise properly for snapping at him earlier.
“And you got him out. We’re a team Virg, Gordon knows he can count on us.”
Virgil hummed in supposed agreement but if he went out swimming more than usual in the next few months no one mentioned it either.

Chapter 12
Rodan was frozen on the spot, only kept up in the air the circling wind. Ghidorah is free. GhidorahisfreeGhidorahisfreeGhidorahisfree WHY IS GHIDORAH FREE!?- Ghidorah was apparently still a donkey, because their heads turned toward the human’s fake bird as it exited the storm, flying under them.
It was when Rodan realized what had transpired. Those fucking cunts had led him straight to Ghidorah. And for what? An offering to appease the One who is Many? A fucking afternoon snack for those assholes!?
Not if he had something to say about it! “OI, GOLDEN NOTHING!” He roared, letting the wind push him forward directly toward Middle, who turned back toward him with an aggravated look. Rodan realized that deliberately provoking them was not his brightest moment just as he colluded and the two started falling out of the sky, but he was in too deep now.
Plus, he knew how to fight them, Godzilla’s words on the plan to defeat them all those years ago clear in his head. We just need to get one away from the other two, and they’ll quickly lose their mind in trying to get their brother back.
Well, Rodan was taking Middle away from his brothers, a strong push of downward wind assuring he wouldn’t just be able to turn off his personal gravity. The wind roaring in his ears nearly made him miss the screams of confusion from Right and Left as he balled one of his fist up, punching Middle in the face repeatedly as they continued falling.
“Is that really your plan?” Middle suddenly asked him, a slender hand  grasping his neck and using it as leverage to get their faces close together. “Separate me from my brothers?”
Rodan quickly shook his head free, growling. “The next time you touch me is the last time you have hands, understood?” Middle just laughed, still holding his arm up to the side of Rodan’s head.
“Oh, brothers? A hand would be appreciated.” They suddenly stopped falling, and Rodan just had the time to roll himself off of Middle and righting himself in the skies before seeing Right and Left were now there, both holding their brother’s arm and all three now looking at him.
He shuddered. Middle was looking at him like he was a mathematical equation, Right like he wanted to see what Rodan’s head looked like crushed open on the ground, and Left like he was a toy he couldn’t wait to break. None of these were looks he liked directed at him, especially on those faces.
“Hi, little bird!” Left exclaimed much too cheerfully for someone who was there to kill him.
“My name’s Rodan, you fucking donkey!” He screeched, flapping his sleeves rhythmically to keep himself airborne.
Left nodded in acknowledgement, that creepy smile still on his face, but Middle tilted his head. “So, you didn’t get killed... what happened to you? I precisely remember your colors not being that bright, your hands being quite colder, and- oh right! You actually having wings!” He mocked.
Rodan hissed, feeling his face start to heat up as wind started gathering behind him, ready to push him to them. “That’s none of your business, Middle!”
“Are you people seriously still referring to us by where we stand-” Right was interrupted as Rodan tackled him, the two starting to fall in the air again. This time, the two others weren’t caught off-guard, and the four got locked into a battle of anti-gravity and wind.
“Bye, Rodan!” Left exclaimed cheerfully, before shooting a bolt of lightning right where is scar was. Rodan almost blacked out from pain as he fell from the sky, three pairs of cruel red eyes looking at him as he plummeted toward the ocean.
Rodan tried to stay out of Ghidorah’s reach, but for every arm kicked away, for every hand slapped off his skin, and for every touch he shrugged out from, there were always two more that replaced it a few seconds after. He realized a moment too late that it was exactly what they wanted, his limbs entangled in Right's and Middle's as Left loomed over him, lightning sparking at his fingertips.
His senses were then engulfed by cold water, which dulled the pain from the lightning and aggravated the pain from everything else. He barely noticed as an aquatic Titan passed under him, holding his arms as they sped to the island.
He suddenly surfaced out of the cold water, gasping for air and coughing out the intrusive liquid as he was dumped on a beach, the stranger holding his hair up, which had come loose from all the flying. Or maybe from the fighting. He looked up, surprised to find Godzilla looking down at him. “G... Goji? What are you-”
“I was worried about you.” Godzilla helped him sit up, his warms hand on the only parts of Rodan’s arms not covered by his clothes. “You stay still and nurse your wounds, alright?” The King got up, walking back into the water. “As for me, I’ve got a Golden Pest to deal with...”
He then plunged under the water, and Rodan allowed himself to hope that Godzilla would be able to defeat them for real this time.
-
(Do you think he’ll survive?)
[If he remembers to swim? Probably. He’s survived worse than falling in the ocean.]
(Can we go find him? We just found our little bird again, and he’s more fiery than ever! I don’t want to lose him now.)
{Maybe later, if he survives.}
(But brother Ichiiii!)
[Brother San, we have more pressing matters to attend to.]
(What’s more press- right. Humans figured out flying machines.)
{At this rate? They’ll probably figure out space travel soon too, and we do not want that to happen, do we brothers?}
(No!)
[Fuck no.]
{That’s what I thought.} Ichi turned toward where he thought he saw the human’s flying machines a fair distance away. The biggest one seemed to be slowing down for a smaller one to catch up with. As Ghidorah started floating toward it, creating thunderous clouds to cover themselves, they couldn’t help but notice that the smallest one was smoking.
(The smaller one is falling apart.) San noted just as rain started falling around them.
[Must be why the big one is slowing down.] Ni continued, narrowing his eyes as the inside became visible, the small one landing inside. Some of the humans seemed to be arguing. [They want to save their own.]
One of the humans, one who seemed young ith strangely colored hair, turned toward them outside and saw them. It’s eyes widened in fear as he screamed, attracting the attention of the others. {And by doing that, they’ve doomed themselves~} The fear in the humans’ eyes was palpable as a smiling Ichi reached a hand out, claws unsheathed and ready to grab onto the metal structure.
And then, out of absolutely nowhere, the weak king jumped out of the water and tackled all three of them.
San screeched in surprise, accidently letting a lot of water into this lungs. Ni grit his teeth, successfully kicking himself out of Godzilla’s hold but keeping a hold on his arm as he swam further down, his brother’s throats enclosed in the weak king’s fists. He at some point let go of Ichi, and the older brother took a second to enjoy the lack of pressure before realizing why Godzilla had let go.
San’s end of the connection went silent. His eyes glazed over, and his body slowly started falling as his throat bleed out. There was black blood slowly seeping off of Godzilla’s hand.
Ichi’s head immediately exploded, and it took him a few seconds of thinking through the pain to realize that Ni had lost control over his emotions. His thoughts were an uncontrolled mess of raw panic as San’s body floated out of sight. He decided to take a calculated risk. {Ni, go get San and let me handle the weak king.}
[But-]
{No but! You’re too unfocused to fight right now. Go get San and get on land. If he defeats me and follows you there, you can chase him off and fish my body out later.}
[I’m the better fighter! Why can’t I stay behind!?]
{Because you’re also the better swimmer. Now go!} Thankfully, Ni didn’t argue after that, kicking Godzilla away and swimming after San. When the weak king tried swimming after him, Ichi grabbed him by the hair, yanking him toward him as he tried baring his teeth only for water to start entering his lungs.
Stars damn it.
Godzilla just grinned at him, before lashing out with his claws. The eldest of the Ghidorah avoided them by a hair, grabbing both wrists and digging his own claws in them, trying to kick away the weak king to no avail. He felt Ni breach through the surface of the water through their telepathic link and moving as fast as he could toward the beach there, and was about to order him to stay here once he reached it when something caught his attention.
From behind the weak king, a strange green light had appeared, rapidly expending toward them. Ichi groaned internally, focusing on keeping Godzilla’s throat-slicing limbs away from his throat as he braced himself for impact. It was probably the humans trying to assist Godzilla again. He wasn’t too worried, nothing they had ever done had been able to hurt him or his brothers.
As the light passed through him, all it really did was make his body tingle as even more water entered his lungs. He would’ve screamed in rage and frustration if it hadn’t been for the weak king’s reaction as the light hit him.
Godzilla had let him go. His gills were twitching, and he had a panicked look on his face, hands grabbing at the gills on his neck as they started bleeding, his bright blue hair slowly turning darker. Ichi would’ve stayed longer, enjoyed the show of the weak king suffering and possibly dying, but he had two brothers to check on.
He pushed Godzilla away, legs kicking underneath him as the water around him lightened. As his head finally breached the water, coughing and vomiting water out as he did so, he looked around for the island, before stopping in confusion. The small fishes that lived on this planet were all starting to rise to the surface of the water, dead. And then birds started dropping into the water too, confusing Ichi further.
It’s only when he flicked his tongue out, tasting the air, that he realized what the green flash had been. Death, in it’s rawest form, at least for the planet, harvested and dropped right next to one of their very own protector.
The bird’s nest and the weak king were dead by the hand of humans.
Ni wasn’t going to be happy that his rival had died such an undignified death.
He swam to shore, putting his feet on the ground as soon he could, lifting his robe to allow better movement. He looked around, neck twisting in all direction from his left to his right, until he spotted a shaking Ni and a still unmoving San. Ichi allowed himself to soften up a bit as he saw that his still conscious brother was wrecked with sobs.
[San- please wake up- I can’t-] Ichi watched as Ni continued crying, holding their younger brother’s unconscious body and trying to get him to answer. He calmly walked up to them, before sitting down and gently lifting San’s head.
Ni sent him a confused look. {It’s like when you have to regenerate deep cuts after a fight. It’s easier when you hold the wound closed, is it not?} Ichi reminded him, using the hand that wasn’t busy with holding San’s head to wipe away his brother’s tears.
Ni slowly nodded, setting San’s body to be more comfortable as he buried his face in one arm, furiously wiping his tears away. San’s eyes lit up as the flesh started knitting itself together. He sat up, his legs still swung over Ni’s and a hand over his wound. “Sorry for the scare.”
“I- it’s fine. You’re fine now.” Ni reassured San, who smiled weakly. Ichi sighed in relief as he felt the pressure of Ni’s panic fade away from his mind, his headache going away with it.
Only to immediately return as he received a thrown rock to the back of his head, which shattered upon impact. He gestured at a growling Ni to calm down, took a good look at the glossy, black shards, before turning toward the sender. Sure enough, Rodan was standing here, fire in his eyes but clearly nursing his wounds. “How in oblivion are you not dead?” He asked the bird, who simply puffed a cloud of black smoke as he spit some lava to the side.
“You’re not getting off this island.” Rodan hissed, making Ichi raise an incredulous eyebrow.
“And... you’re the one who’s going to stop us?” San asked, tilting his head.
“Yeah. I don’t care that you’re the Golden Demise, I don’t care that you’ve just beaten Godzilla, and I don’t care that you want to kill me.” Rodan snapped. “If any of you so much as think of trying to leave, I’m blowing up the Island and all three of you with it.”
“And we won’t just kill you or mind control you into letting us leave because... ?”
“An advantage of becoming a Guardian, as shitty as how it happened was for me, is that you become insanely hard to kill, and you can hide your nest away from others. Also, I’ve always been immune to your bullshit songs.” Rodan answered Ni, who furrowed his brows. “And this Island is now out of sight. Nothing is getting in, or out, without my permission. Have fun spending the rest of your life near an active volcano, assholes.”
He then turned away, walking back to his volcano. Ni hissed and nearly threw himself at him, but was stopped by San’s arm. “What!?”
(He thinks we’re the ones who killed his island.) San stated blankly through their link, the intent of not wanting to be overheard clear. (If he was aware humans were behind it, his tune would change very quickly.)
{He’s a Guardian now. He wouldn’t believe us if we told him.} Ichi admitted. The only other guardians he was aware of where the Moths, the serpent who lived in the sea, and the mechanical being controlled by the underwater humans. All of them had showed a degree of protectiveness toward humans in the past. {Where we really asleep for so long?}
(That’s not important.) San cut in, finally properly sitting up and bringing his brothers closer to him. (What’s important is that he’s vulnerable. One of his friends is dead. The others aren’t there. He’s decided to isolate himself in the proof of his own failure. And we’re the only beings he can talk to.)
Ichi hummed. {And what’s your plan, brother?}
(For now? Pretend we go along with him. Try to find cracks in his behavior, anything to get closer to him and get him to talk about himself. He’ll be too desperate for companionship to notice something is wrong.) San started, before breaking into a fit of giggling. (Then, once we’ve hollowed him out? We break his shell, make him bow to us out of his very own free will, and we can begin terraforming~)
[... Holy shit, that’s brutal.]
{Truly, you can be the most cruel out of us sometimes, San.}
(I know.)
