A conversation with a mutual has really made me think more and more about just how off balance the original SWTOR was, in terms of how female companions and PCs were treated. Specifically:   - Most of the women companions are between 20-22 years old. In contrast the male companions have a very wide range age. The oldest romanceable man, Malavai Quinn, is 37 when the story starts. The oldest romanceable woman, Kaliyo, is a full 8 years younger. I suppose this is in line with those statistics that men at any age see women who are 20-22 as the most attractive, but yikes for perpetuating that. - EVERY one of the women companions other than LS Jaesa can be romanced. - There are only 10 (ETA counted wrong!) female companions in total in the original class stories vs. 27 male companions (not counting droids SCORPIO, Fourex and T7). - There are more romance options for male PCs wanting a female companion vs. the other way around. - There are two one-night stand options with companions for female PCs and they're both pretty awkward. You can sleep with Theran Cedrax and then get dumped, or you can sleep with Lt. Pierce and tell him that is going to be part of his duties, which is a little...yeah. - Most of the women are depicted as being in a subordinate, subservient or vulnerable position vs. a PC and vs the male companions. Several refer to the PC as 'master.' - The PC is in a teacher role for several of the women companions. The only male companion who is an apprentice is Xalek. - The women companions who are not depicted as being subordinate are depicted as being untrustworthy or cold. - Of course, there's fucking nothing for wlw or mlm and the game has a lot of heteronormative moments, such as the female JK being told she could have "any man she wants" and the female smuggler being asked if she has a husband (but not a wife).   And then we get to the companions. With most, but not all, of the male companions, you get the feeling that if the PC died tomorrow they'd be fine. They come from jobs in the military or government, like Pierce, Aric Jorgan, Talos, Rusk and Felix, or they have their own things going on, like Theran Cedrax and Lokin. This is borne out in KOTFE and onward. When you meet up with, say, Rusk, Guss, Talos or Blizz again, they might be very happy to see you, but it’s also clear they’re doing just fine. The men that are or were in positions of vulnerability, like Felix Iresso being captured or Vector and the kiliks, are glossed over. When you meet up with the female companions a lot of them talk about feeling lost and possibly needing to flee the faction.
I love most of these companions, for what it's worth. I'm just sorry the writing did them dirty.
Imperial:   Vette: Literally a slave when you meet her. She's a trained assassin and ran with one of the most notorious pirates in the galaxy, but once you're off Korriban she really doesn't get to show off those skills. The PC can take off her slave collar, and in another conversation can confirm that Vette is not a slave anymore. However the PC can also keep the collar on and continue torturing her with no consequences.   Jaesa: If you've chosen DS Jaesa the Sith Warrior can manipulate her in very horrifying ways. If you've chosen LS Jaesa she is trapped as a LS person in the Empire and you could probably turn on her at any moment, and she'd have no recourse.   Ashara: Another former Jedi. The Sith Inquisitor's actions burn her bridges with the Jedi on Taris, she's spent her entire life with the Jedi and really doesn't have anywhere to go.   Kaliyo: The oldest woman companion in the class stories and one of a few that are not depicted as vulnerable or dependent on the PC. She could walk away at any minute and you get the feeling she'd be fine. When you meet up with her again on Zakuul you find out that's exactly how she rolls once the Agent vanishes. But...the writers make a point of depicting her as callous and very untrustworthy, too.   Raina: The Chiss have her back, so she has more clout than some of the others, but she's constantly asking the Agent for advice and instruction. The Agent also has a key piece of information they could potentially use to harm Raina: they know she is Force sensitive and left the Empire as a fugitive. Telling the right person about that would get Raina's head sliced off in about two seconds, so the Agent does have some power over her.   Mako: She's very young, she's an orphan and shortly after you meet her, her father figure and the other adult looking after her are slaughtered. She's in a very vulnerable place and really doesn't have anyone to turn to, except the PC.   Republic:   Kira: She has far more agency than some of the other Jedi. She's knighted fairly early on and she works more like a team with the JK. But the JK also does have the power to turn her in to the Council for her past.   Nadia: She's naive, sheltered and traveling with her father. When her father dies she really doesn't have anyone else to turn to. You're put in charge of caring for her and teaching he the Force, so she depends on the JC for just about everything,   Elara: This is one of the only other women who isn’t really vulnerable. Technically she is a lower rank than the PC, but you can promote her to the second-in-command and it's clear she has a lot of agency and self-sufficiency. She was doing just fine in the Republic military before the trooper and she seems to keep doing fine after. But she is depicted as being very rigid.   Risha: Another woman who could walk away and be fine. She's a literal queen and Nok Drayen's daughter, after all. But again, just like Kaliyo, she is depicted at first as being untrustworthy. In the smuggler story you meet people who say Risha screwed them over to the point where they don't want to see her.
Akaavi: The only woman besides Kaliyo who is older than 25 when the class story begins. She is a Mandalorian and she could destroy you. She talks about getting off the smuggler's ship and leaving. The one place where she's vulnerable is that she's in Republic space and her clan has been destroyed, much like Torian's. But Torian is still around the Mando community and Akaavi is isolated.   I think some of the the later companions are better in this regard - Lana Beniko, Major Anri and Tau Idair clearly take no shit, could kill you on the spot and aren’t reliant on the PC. Playing through the original game, though, you come across these tropes.

Author’s Notes: The following obviously applies to my main Jedi Knight OC, Corellan Halcyon, but I feel it could apply to a great many JKs, so i’ve used gender-neutral pronouns where possible. Graphics courtesy of Wookiepedia, since i’m away from my screen captures at the moment.  The Sith Lord known as Lord Scourge wants Revenge against Vitiate, the Sith Emperor. He wants revenge for what the ancient Sith Lord did to him three hundred years ago, granting him immortality but taking from him everything that made life worth living. He wants revenge for being forced to serve as his personal executioner for all of that time. It is true that Scourge may have started down this long and arduous path out of a sort of enlightened self-interest. Vitiate, Scourge knows full-well, is a threat to the entire galaxy. He has known that from the moment he met him in person so many years ago. The Emperor is a threat to everyone who has ever lived and to everyone who ever will live. But his anger and rage at his ‘Master’ have only deepened over the centuries. Scourge is incredibly fortunate that he burns cold, one of the side-effects that he suffers as the result of Vitiate’s ritual. Were it otherwise, the Emperor would surely have sensed the profound danger that his Wrath represented, and the unrepentant traitor has no illusions as to how that confrontation would end. After the Dromund Kaas operation, Scourge claims to stay with the Defender’s crew simply to be certain that the Emperor has left them no further surprises.   But somewhere deep down, Scourge knows that this isn’t the end of it. Something of the Emperor has survived. But he also knows the Jedi Knight will be there to see the prophecy through no matter what it takes. The Knight’s resolve is the equal of Revan’s, of the Exile’s and of Scourge’s himself. Perhaps even greater.  And Scourge will therefore aid the Jedi however he can. Lord Scourge stays with the Jedi Knight because they promise him Revenge.

Fidelitin Rusk has been fighting one battle or another for his entire adult life. He is considered ruthless and sometimes even reckless by his fellow Republic soldiers, and sometimes even by his crewmates. Rusk – the third-oldest member of the crew but perhaps the oldest in practical life experience – accepts these assessments without rebuke or defense; he is what he is. His entire mindset was constructed for battles and wars that had to be won regardless of the costs. Rusk has fought so hard and for so long that there are some days when even he starts to forget why he does what he does. Indeed, there are times when Rusk disapproves of the Knight’s choices, believing that they risk too much for others and that they are far too willing to however briefly put aside the greater mission to save even a single life all while the entire galaxy stands at risk.
But deep down, the lost soldier’s only true purpose has only ever been to defend those who cannot defend themselves. He was born and raised by a colony of pacifists; that didn’t stop the Empire from annihilating his people. When he looks at the Jedi Knight – so selfless and so brave, so willing to put themselves on the line for those who need them, he is reminded of the justness of that cause. And as he wins battle after battle and that cause is served, than perhaps everything that Rusk has done has been worth it.
Sergeant Fideltin Rusk stays with the Jedi Knight because they promise him Victory.

Contrary to popular belief, Doctor Archiban Kimble knows perfectly how the rest of the galaxy, and even his closest allies aboard the Defender, view him. The man who calls himself Doc is seen as an arrogant, misogynistic, self-aggrandizing, fame-seeking, womanizing nerf-herder; a man who has left a seemingly endless line of women high and dry over the years, from Prudy and on down the list. Honestly? Doc wouldn’t have it any other way. Letting people believe that he cares so little about his personal relationships gives him a sort of shield against the things in the universe that he doesn’t want to deal with, all while still allowing him to continue to enjoy the things that keep him going.
But a man who worked his through medical school on his own merits and who has consistently chosen to serve as a combat medic on some of the most dangerous planets in the galaxy doesn’t do so just for fame, fortune and women. He could have had all that and lived in style while conducting research projects for a major pharmaceutical company back on Coruscant. No, once upon a time there was a young Archiban who set upon this path, and who did so for far nobler reasons then Doc would ever admit to anyone. Doc doesn’t know how, but for some reason, he knows that when the Jedi Knight looks at him, they see something beyond the broken healer who has put up a shell around themselves. The Knight then offers the medic an opportunity for a more meaningful existence than he could have ever dreamed of.
Doc stays with the Jedi Knight because they promise to always Help others.

Some days, Kira Carsen feels like she’s spent her entire life just trying to be true to who she is in a galaxy that seems determined to force her to become something else. She was raised on Korriban by some of the most sadistic and fanatical Sith in the galaxy, the Children of the Emperor. Every time she sees one of her ‘siblings’ returning to the dormitories with missing pieces of their memory, she cringes and pulls up her blanket around herself. And when Kira returns one night and realizes she can’t remember what happened to her, she knows that soon, there will be nothing left of her identity, either. The survival rate of acolytes who flee the Korriban academy cannot be higher than two percent. Most flee into the wilderness and, when they aren’t immediately hunted down and killed, become ‘broken’, running around in gangs, often going mad. But ten-year old Kira smuggles herself out on an outgoing cargo ship, and a week later she’s on Nar Shaddaa. She sees the suffering of people, there. Those who are unable or unwilling to kick something up to the Hutts quickly find themselves sent down. The slums where refugees congregate are almost as cruel and unforgiving as Korriban. Life is hard, but here, Kira discovers something about herself. Inexplicably, she actually cares about other people; especially the ones who take her in, and who are too weak to fend for themselves against the predators among them. Then Kira meets Bela Kiwiiks and joins the Jedi Order. Kira is unbelievably grateful to Master Kiwiiks. The Togrutta got her off Nar Shaddaa, gave her a home and a place in the galaxy, and has given her a place in the galaxy and the chance to do some good. Master Kiwiiks is like the mother that she never had. Kiwiiks is gently but firmly trying to teach Kira to be the best Jedi she can be.
But as proud as she is to be a Jedi, Kira Carsen is trying to be the best version of herself.
When she meets the Jedi Knight, everything changes very quickly. Somehow, the Knight trusts Kira against the Black Sun at the spaceport on Coruscant, and then later still when they’re hunting down Tarnis. When Master Satele instructs the Knight to take Kira in as a Padawan, Kira is elated. She follows the Knight’s lead, but she feels more like a partner than their apprentice. The Knight talks with her instead of at her, and they learn a great deal about themselves and the galaxy from each other. When Kira’s past is revealed, the Knight supports her unquestioningly; first against Valis, then against Master Jaric Kaedan and finally against the Emperor himself on Darth Angral’s dreadnaught. When Kira finally purges the Emperor from her mind, she feels the Knight reaching out to her, aiding her the entire time.
(All this comes before that night under the stars on Tython, when Kira finally jumps the Knight and they become far more than partners.)
Kira is still herself, learning and growing at her own pace. There are times she questions the Knight’s choices. She groans when they take in Doc and worries a great deal when they let Scourge join. But through it all, the Knight never asks Kira to compromise herself; they never tell her how she should feel or think about anything. The Knight simply asks Kira to trust them. And she does. The doubting Jedi questions many things; but they never question the Knight, because the Knight has never questioned her.
Kira Carsen stays with the Jedi Knight because they promise to let her be Herself , and because they let her become the best version of Herself she can.

T7-O1 – Teeseven to his friends – has served the Jedi Order for decades, and quite frankly, they would be hard pressed to find anyone who has done so with greater devotion. The astromech droid is more than content to carry messages and conduct reconnaissance for the Jedi as they continue to adjust to their home on Tython.
But for the mechanical servant, the most satisfying period of his existence was during the time he served as a companion to Jedi Master Ven Zallow, one of the greatest heroes of the Galactic Republic during the last galactic war. Zallow was a true champion of the ideals of both the Jedi and the Republic, serving with wisdom and strength. The little droid misses those days, fiercely. He knows the work he does for the Order is important, but nothing was more fulfilling than knowing ones actions have helped right a wrong or saved a life.
After ten years of waiting, Teeseven is finally partnered with another hero. This one is even kinder and more powerful than Ven Zallow; they seem to do nothing but sacrifice for others. In the Jedi Knight, Teeseven has found a champion who can save the entire galaxy. Privately, the little droid does worry. He worries that the cruelties of this galaxy will weigh on the Knight, that they will become bitter with loss, and will eventually fall short of their ideals as so many Jedi have before.  But Teeseven will be there for the Knight, no matter what. They will follow the Knight into the darkest places in the galaxy, as they blaze a light. They will be the Knight’s friend, and show the Jedi the way. In return, the Knight will help Teeseven be what the droid always wanted to be.
T7-O1 stays with the Jedi Knight because they promise him that they will always be Heroes.

Just kidding disregard that last one, I need all the love headcanons for Aine and as many for Alys as you feel like answering. (esp her type so I can give you ship options lol) I might come back with questions about your tes babies too, heads up lol
You got it! Alys and Aine are both relatively new as far as ocs go so this is all subject to change.
Aine
When they discover they’ve got a crush: She doesn’t, she the mayor of denial-ville, in the country of No-fucking-way-Land. She will just try to convince herself that it’s not possible, she’s a jedi they aren’t supposed to develop attachments and god damn it, she’s already bad at being a jedi getting a crush and falling love would just add to it so it’s not fucking happening! And then they smile at her and she’s right back to square one.
How they confess/hint: She doesn’t. Those feelings stayed buried in the pit of her emotions forever to never see the light of day and that’s where they fucking belong. Though if she avoids someone that could be a hint, either that or she just really doesn’t like them so it’s hit or miss.
Big gestures of love: Taking a literal bullet for you. Going to the ends of the galaxy to keep you safe, this isn’t just for romantic love either, it’s also for plutonic.
Little gestures of love: “I found this trinket on some guy I killed and thought of you” Also you know when you’re cutting up fruit or peeling an orange and you give someone a slice without even asking or thinking about it? She does that.
How to win their heart: Accept her how she is, she’s spent a lot of her life not feeling like she belonged anywhere or was even wanted. She spent her childhood being told she had no worth and then she became a Jedi and found her purpose in life, but even then she’s still told her emotions are a weakness, and now she’s expected to save the entire galaxy over and over again. So basically anyone that just loves and accepts her as a messy thing that tries her best will win her heart.
How to break their heart: Pretty much the opposite of that. Don’t accept her, reject her, tell her she has no worth .
Tiny little turn-ons: She enjoys banter, someone that can keep up with her wit.
Big turn-ons: You know those scenes where two people will be practicing fighting and they get real close and they’re all breathing hard. That’s a big turn on.
Things that make their heart flutter: Being thought of, like even someone saying, “I thought of you the other day” get’s her all fuzzy.
Their type: Ugh hard to say I don’t think she has much of a type per say Really just what I said before if she connects with you on an emotional level you’re her type, as for like flings she doesn’t discriminate lmao.
Ideal date: Saving the galaxy and then taking mutual naps.
Past relationships: Nothing serious, she’s had a couple of flings here and there but once she became a jedi knight she kind of put a stop to it.
How they might affect current relationships: Hard to say since she doesn’t have a current relationship as of now.
‘Goals’ in a relationship (marriage, kids, a house, etc): She doesn’t want marriage nor does she want kids, her ship is her house. Basically Aine isn’t one to settle down. Like, if she finds someone she loves, she’ll love them and be with only them for the rest of eternity, but she has no interest in marriage.
Any other love headcannons: She’s the type of person who is secretly into romance media. Like she’ll be the one to say “Ew this is corny” while watching the Notebook but stay for the whole time and have to sneakily wipe her tears at the end.
Alys
When they discover they’ve got a crush: Probably go through all the stages of grief, but Alys develops crushes pretty easily so it happens a lot. Basically if somone is moderately nice to her Alys is already planning the wedding.
How they confess/hint: “Hey being around you makes me happy and like I think I’m falling in love with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.... jk jk unless 👀." But really she’ll try to pass it off as a joke so it kinds of hard to tell if she’s confessing her feelings or if she’s just like that.
Big gestures of love: Her trusting you enough to even just open up to someone is already a big gesture of love and not easily done for her.
Little gestures of love: Listening to someone talk about something they love for hours, also trusting you enough for her to talk about something she loves.
How to win their heart: There a couple of layers to this, she’ll get a crush on anyone that’s moderately nice. But to win her heart you’ve got to proof you’re the reliable sort, someone who wont abandon her even when things get tough and they get tough a lot. Basically just show her an ounce of unconditional love.
How to break their heart: Just be like her family who rejected her and abadoned her and emotionally abuses her on a daily basis. Also say you like creamy peanut butter better than crunchy, that’s bound to break her heart too.
Tiny little turn-ons: She definitely has a voice kink.
Big turn-ons: Can’t even lie Alys secretly likes it when someone takes control but only in the bedroom, if anyone tries to tell her what to do outside of it There will be hell to pay.
Things that make their heart flutter: Oh maannnn any of those soft little romantic gestures, longing stares, hands brushing, hand kissing. The whole lot.
Their type: Hmmmm She probably goes more for the sweet type, Alys has been through a lot and has been hurt by a lot of people who should have given her unconditional love. So her type is someone who loves her with no strings attached.
Ideal date: She would honestly be content just staying at home with the person she loves while they spend hours talking about their passions.
Past relationships: She had one relationship in the imperial academy but it didn’t end well....
How they might affect current relationships: Hard to say since she doesn’t have a current relationship
‘Goals’ in a relationship (marriage, kids, a house, etc): Ahhhh She isn’t exactly opposed to marriage but she’s also content never getting married and just being around the person she loves. She doesn’t really want kids, her parents kind of fucked her up so she doesn’t exactly have any good basis for how a normal parent should be and she’s terrified that she won’t be enough.
Any other love headcannons: She’s the type of person to go out of her way to show her love to her S/O and be all affectionate, but the second they do the same she short circuits and doesn’t know how to react. It usually ends in awkward laughing and finger guns.

Hi, do you have any advice for this unable-to-make-decisions GoH newbie? I'm level 62 atm and just developed 7-star Luminara, and I can't decide what to invest in. (7-star Mace is almost there as well.) I want an actual squad (right now my A-team is Mace, Luminara, Tarkin, Chewie, Jedi Consular), which one do you recommend?
Hello there and Welcome to the Madness! We are super glad to have you with us on our long trek to Rancor/Tank/General Kenobi Domination!
First of all, Congratulations on getting 7* Luminara! YAAAAAY!
She’s fabulous and she stays fabulous for a good long while. She was my first 7* character and I still love her. She’s a character you can level up to a certain point and she stays competitive with everybody else for a good long time. Unlike some characters I am looking at you JK Anakin you pretty, squishy thing you she’s pretty good on her own and mods just make her even better.
Since your Arena team has three Jedi I’m going to make two Suggestion Lists, one based on what you’ve already got and can easily level up and then another Suggestion List based on what’s going to be easy and successful in the long run. I’m not super skilled and well versed in what’s Meta (i.e. what’s popular and super successful in the arena right now.) because I love my Jedi and Clone Sons too much.
But I will try to keep the Meta Game in mind so that later on you haven’t managed to craft some kind of Lovecraftian Horror Zeta Ewok Scout or whatever. XD
I’m also tagging my guild officer @silvergryphon, and my GOH sempai @gffa as well as anyone else who wants to join in the fun! @tygermama, @resistancepilots, @generallkenobi, @dendral, @teapirate, @loverofcake And anyone else who wants to help out and has Thoughts! XD
So without further ado… here’s my suggestions!
JEDI
Jedi are fun because they have lightsabers and do fun flippy things and also LIGHTSABERS ARE PLASMA CHAINSAWS! How is that not cool?
Easy Jedi to Farm
Ahsoka Tano - Hands down Ahsoka is one of the easiest Jedi to farm for. She shows up in the Cantina Store and she has two nodes where she can be found Dark Side 4-C and Light Side 5-D (which has come choice gear on it). Ahsoka can supplement healing for Luminara and she’s also a must have in Fleet Battles. She plays well with others and I’ve often won arena battles where I was down to her and Fives and they made hash of my opponents. Ahsoka is great in mid-game and an excellent addition to your Jedi team.
Ezra Bridger - After Ahsoka, Luminara and Mace, Ezra is probably the second easiest Jedi to farm for. He’s on a low Cantina Node (2-B) and he pops up in the Fleet Store with an annoying regularity. No, Game! I wanted Chirrut Shards! I don’t want Emo Blueberry Shards! Of the Phoenix Squad characters, he’s the one I kill first when I face a Phoenix team and he’s very useful wherever he goes. His bonus attacks can kill Baze and Fives and that takes some serious doing. He also has a ship (Phantom II) so that’s nice for your Fleet arena.
Kanan Jarrus - Okay so with Kanan you’re going to have to balance his availability with whoever else you’re going for in the Squad Arena store but he’s another useful Jedi who can taunt, add protection and debuff your characters. He’s not super easy to get but if you’re going to get the Phoenix Squad he’s tied for second place with Hera after Ezra.
Qui-Gon Jinn - *sighs* Get him. You’ll need him if you want to run a Jedi team. His leadership gives your team speed and he can call assists as well as debuffs. Don’t let my lackluster recommendation of everyone’s Neglectful Hippie Space Dad dissuade you. He’s useful and not hair-pullingly difficult to get.
Difficult to Farm but Worth It
Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker - Oh my precious Rage Baby! So beautiful, so angry, so… squishy? If you’re going to have a Jedi team, you need to have Anakin on it. He does serious damage and he can also inflict healing and buff immunity for 2 turns. He plays very well with clones and Ahsoka. When Luminara gets her heal over time ability, that really helps shore Anakin up. He also has an AOE attack which I don’t think any other Jedi has. He’s only on four nodes (Dark Side 5-B, 7-D, Light Side 5-C and Cantina 7-G) so he’s not impossible to get I am looking at you Aayla Secura but he’s not easy either. Probably just the way Padme and Obi-Wan like it.
Barriss Offee - Eh. Get the murderous wench. She’s the best healer in the game, for a back-stabbing-jedi-turned-terrorist. Like Anakin, she’s not in a store but she’s got four nodes (Dark Side 5-C, 5-E, 8-A and Cantina 6-A). She’s a popular for Zeta when you get to that (and that is still a long ways off for you so don’t worry about it.)
So… uhmm… TL:DR
Ahsoka
Ezra/Qui-Gon
Whoever you didn’t go for last time in the Ezra/Qui-Gon mashup
Jedi Knight Anakin/Kanan Jarrus
Whoever you didn’t go for last time JK Anakin/Kanan Jarrus
Back-stabbin’ Barriss Offee
Holy Crap I went on forever! But onwards and upwards my dear! Here is part two!
REBELS
Because you will need Rebels to compete in all sorts of special events (Empire Themed events, Emperor Palpatine events, the new Territory battles) you are going to need Rebels.
The good news is THERE ARE LOTS OF REBELS. SO MANY REBELS. LIKE MORE THAN WE NEED AND I AM AN AVOWED DISLIKER OF THE SITH/EMPIRE/FIRST ORDER CHARACTERS.
Right now your Squad Arena team is tilted in the direction of Jedi which is fine! I have had my butt handed to me by many a Jedi team before. I swear to the Force Yoda if you don’t leave my precious Wedge alone I am going to reach through the screen and strangle you! But a Rebels team is pretty much required to advance in the game and EA has given you a MYRIAD of options to chose from.
Which brings me to… Easy to Farm Rebels
Biggs Darklighter - Popular recently is a combination of Wiggs (Wedge Antilles + Biggs Darklighter) and Chaze (Chirrut Imwe + Baze Malbus). Now here’s a thing, or two, you need to know about these two combos.
It’s REALLY effective.
It’s kind of a pain in the ass to get.
The good news for you is that Biggs Darklighter is not only in the Galactic War Store (where if you defeat the table you have a chance to purchase up to 15 of his shards a day!) but he’s also located on Cantina Node 3-G and Dark Side Node 4-A. Biggs also has an X-Wing that taunts (I LOVE YOU, BIGGS) and he has amazing synergy with Wedge Antilles. If you can get an omega mat on his Comrade-in-Arms Super-Mega-Killshot attack, he can perform that every other turn. WHICH IS SO AMAZING.
SO.
AMAZING.
So I highly recommend Biggs. Even if you don’t want to run a Rebels squad right now, he is worth it for his ship and that Comrade-in-Arms ability.
Stormtrooper Han Solo - ST Han Solo has the advantage of being both a Rebel and a Scoundrel, which are ANNOYINGLY important in this game. It may not seem like it now but trust me, when you start Mod farming, you are going to need those credit heists desperately. Where is my Dave Chapelle Meme with the white powdery lips and “Y’all got any more of ‘dem Credit Heists?” ST Han is in the same boat as Kanan Jarrus as he’s only available in the Squad Arena store so if you have to pick between the two, go for ST Han while you’re going after Jedi elsewhere.
ST Han can taunt and his taunt is particularly insidious because every time he takes a hit, his allies gain turn meter. I’ve seen him work well with all sorts of teams and I’ve seen him in the top level squads as well.
Princess Leia - Her Royal Highness, the Crown Princess of Alderaan is a beast. On top of her stealth move (which apparently can cleanse some debuffs. *o*) her basic attack “Hair Trigger” allows her fire up to three times in one attack. Remember when I mentioned that Phoenix squad earlier? About the only person I have that is really capable of taking them down to size is Princess Leia. (And Fives, because Fives is indestructible.) She’s also an excellent counter to Grumpy Secessionist Grandpa Count Dooku. She got reworked when they introduced Commander Luke Skywalker so she should be even better now!
Sadly, Our Lady of Sass and Cinnamon Rolls is only located in the Squad Arena store so you’ll have to juggle her against everybody else. I’ve also heard she’s great against Part 4 of the Tank Raid and works well with a team of Clones to form the fantastic portmanteaux of Princess Zody (Princess Leia + Zeta Cody).
Last but most definitely not least is the Baron Administrator of Cloud City…
Lando Calrissian - To call Lando easy to farm is kind of misnomer. He only shows up on two Cantina nodes (1-E and 5-F and for me 5-F had a better drop rate than 1-E) but he’s on Cantina nodes and if you chose to use your crystals that way, you can get probably four to five shards a day for him as opposed to the limits placed on Light Side and Dark Side Battles. I have gotten more but that wasn’t until I opened up 5-F.
Lando is, to put it bluntly, a stone cold mass murderer. Sure he looks all suave and charming and you think, “That man in the open neck blue shirt and that disco-tastic seventies gold lined cape looks charming and harmless! I’ll leave him alone and concentrate my forward power on Darth Vader or Jedi Knight Anakin or something like that.
And then two, maybe three, Lando turns later you’re dead, your party is dead. Your neighbor is dead. EVERYONE IS DEAD.
Not only does Lando have great leadership and a pretty good basic attack, his AOE attack will slaughter YOUR WHOLE TEAM. ALL OF THEM. I’ve seen my Lando take out an entire teams protection in one go! POOF! GONE. ALL OF IT. And then? If he scores a critical hit? (which he does with terrifying regularity when he’s on the opposing team) HIS COOL DOWN RESETS AND YOU ARE DOOMED TO BE PERFORATED BY BLASTER FIRE YET AGAIN.
See? Lando Calrissian: Stone Cold Mass Murderer.
If Lando is paired up with Admiral Ackbar and Ackbar uses his Tactical Genius before Lando, you can perform his ORBITAL BOMBARDMENT OF DOOM TWICE IN A ROW. Lando is the Dread Pirate Roberts of Galaxy of Heroes.
There will be no survivors.
Not only does Lando work great with your Rebels but like ST Han he’s a Scoundrel too so he’ll play well with a Scoundrel team in Credit and Droid Heists.
TL;DR
Biggs Darklighter
Stormtrooper Han Solo
Lando Calrissian
Princess Leia
And then maybe Admiral Ackbar for cleansing and assisting Lando in his mass slaughter of your opponents.
I hope that was helpful, my dear! I wish you all the best in your galactic conquest! Have a great Wednesday and may the Force and RNGeezus be with you!

do you have a klance fic rec?
I did a fic rec a while back over here! but here’s some more fics :oc
I know younger fans follow me so everything in this list like the last one is gonna have no sm/.ut or too much expl/.icit content
THIS IS...... A LOT AND I’M FORGETTING A TON OF FICS I’M CURRENTLY READING because I just read them when they update I don’t have them in bookmarks on my phone but I really should.... I think these are enough for now though, I actually left a bunch of fics out of this one because it was getting too long
if you guys want I could probably make a page of fic recs? let me know :oc
and of course there’s klance-net’s fic library (I help out with it sometimes c:)
nothing’s quite as sweet
Keith is a barista who hates his job. Lance works at the cat shelter across the street.
this is like....... one of my fave Klance fics of all time tbh along with A Fish and A Bird+it’s sequel, Crossroads, and the next two fics
Homesick at Space Camp
Lance realizes he's been an asshole to Keith, and on a diplomatic mission to a key planet for the Voltron alliance he... overcompensates.
the characterizaTION IS THIS FIC IS....... SO GOOD....... and it includes the rest of the team too despite the focus on Lance and Keith and I don’t really see that in other fics tbh
Of Escorts and Espionage
Lance preened. Escort? That sounded kind of sexy and badass. “Why, of course, Princess,” he said, standing up to offer his hand at Allura. “I would escort you to the most Galra-infested reaches of the galaxy if you asked.”
Allura’s arm rose but the hand she placed in Lance’s palm was not hers.
It was Keith’s.
there’s some smut here but I think you could easily skip over it
Handbook of Demonology
This psychic—Lance the Lucid, according to the posters, and Keith wasn’t even going to comment on that—was a charlatan, plain and simple, and Keith kind of wanted to punch him. Sure, Lance knew how to put on a show, but Keith doubted there was anything more to the act than charm and dramatic flair.
Pidge sighed, catching Keith’s eyes. “At this point, they’re pretty much our only hope.”
--
While searching for the truth behind their families' disappearance, Keith and Pidge hire a pair of amateur witches to help summon the demon Zarkon. They accidentally summon Allura instead.
Ignorance is Bliss
As it turns out, learning that your house is haunted makes the ghosts a lot more aggressive. Who knew?
Ah, well. At least one of them is hot. And he's the less-evil one, too, so that's always a plus.
Foreign Scenes
Lance has been dreaming of travelling since the first time he heard stories from his family as a child. Now, having finally the time and money to do it, he goes on a trip to Europe to see some of the most culturally rich cities on the continent. Except he keeps bumping into the same guy over and over again, in random cities, doing stupid shit, and ultimately dragging Lance into his trouble, too.
Basically an AU in which Lance and Keith become impromptu travel buddies and get into trouble.
Would You Want Me (If I Want You)
“Well, maybe you just need to relax,” Lance said with a hum, running a hand through his hair as he grinned down at Keith, his back towards the roof. “So just… lean back and enjoy the weightlessness. It’s…. Nice, right?” Lance didn’t know why he was feeling so sheepish all of the sudden, his lips a thin line. Maybe it was the way Keith looked at him from behind his hair, or the fingers clutching the fabric of his shirt, or the slim legs intertwined with his, or the way the lighting seemed to bounce off of Keith’s skin like he was made of glass.
Whatever it was, it made Lance want to do something stupid.
Or; Keith discovering Lance enjoys messing with Altean technology a bit more than he should leads to Keith finally acting on how he feels.
After talking it out, of course.
can you tell me
Keith works in his brother's coffee shop for the summer, expecting a boring break before college. Lance changes all of that.
The boy is still in the front of the group, but he doesn't take off his glasses so Keith can't tell what he's really looking at -- either the menu or Keith. Keith feels a flash of annoyance but smothers it and pins his smile in place.
anything by this author is greAT so yeah :oc
all we have to do
Keith gets hurt during a mission, and Lance is not sure how to handle that.
Lance wakes up on the floor outside of the medical bay, jerking wildly, body a mess of aches and twinges.
Make Me Your Home
“Oh my god, Keeeith,” Lance wheezed. “Keith you’re the best drunk space cadet I’ve ever seen.”
“Space cadet,” Keith mumbled. He repeated the words again although his eyes had zeroed in on Lance’s hands and Lance offered no resistance when Keith picked one of them up and pulled it possessively towards his lap. He began to gently trace over Lance’s fingers, sending shivers up Lance’s arm and down his spine. “You have looong fingers,” Keith murmured after a few moments.
Keith’s face perked up then, as if he’d just had a brilliant idea, and Lance could almost not wait to hear what new obscure thought had entered Keith’s pretty head. He was prepared to laugh, and instead found himself shivering again as Keith leaned far into his personal bubble, lips practically touching Lance’s ear when he spoke next.
“I bet you could reach all kinds of things, Lance.”
some ns/f.w but it’s minor
Medical Duty
Blue is the color of loyalty, so somehow that translates to Lance being the team medic. Except his only first aid skills come from putting bandaids on his younger siblings, and Keith seems to be physically incapable of not getting punched by every new alien they meet.
The Arch Project
When Lance McClain gets promoted to a top secret research project he is delighted to learn that the old conspiracy theories about something crashing in the desert of New Mexico were not entirely wrong. No one is entirely sure what it is that crashed, but it appears to be a man. A very pretty man who hasn't woken up since the crash. Lance is determined to be the first person on the project in a century to finally crack the case of just what this unconscious being is. Human, alien, or something else entirely? But there are forces out there determined to uncover the truth, and steal it if they must. The Voltron Group, a well known hacker group in the research world will apparently stop at nothing to find out what Galra Associated Corperation is hiding. And sooner or later, Lance will have to choose where his loyalties lie.
this fic just started but tbh I’m really excited for it it sounds cool and I don’t think I’ve seen another fic/AU like it :oc
Shadow of the Past / Ghost of the Future
When Lance is thrown through time, he finds himself one year in the future, in place of the Lance that should be here.
He finds his team to be remarkably familiar, yet distinctly different. They have more scars, a better grip on the whole saving the universe thing, and over a year’s worth of teamwork to bind them together. But the weirdest part? Keith seems to be a lot more touchy with him. Not that he’s complaining… much.
The team must try and work out how to reverse the two Lance’s places and restore them to their original timelines. But despite the fact that they’re still his friends, Lance can’t help but feel a little out of place among a team that’s been through so much with a Lance that just isn’t him. And it doesn’t help that the team is on edge around him, refusing to tell him anything for fear of influencing and changing the past. Things get even more complicated when they have to rely on the team in the past to complete the switch, leaving Lance to little more than sit, wait, and attempt to fill in his future self’s shoes.
//
When Lance is thrown through time, his future self from one year ahead is transported to the past in his place.
This Lance is faster, stronger, and markedly more mature. Not only that, but he's distinctly more intuitive about his teammates and A LOT more touchy with Keith.
The team must try and work out how to reverse the two Lance's places and restore them to their original timelines. Things only get more complicated when the Future Lance can't seem to remember where he was when the switch happened, and he refuses to reveal anything about his own time for fear of influencing the team's decisions.
the other fics by the authors are great too :oc
Your Songs Remind Me Of Swimming
A small cove sheltered by rocks opens Lance's eyes to something he had never seen before. He was never much for believing in the supernatural, but maybe all those sea shanties were true.
I love........ siren/mermaid Keith so much just look at my url a/sdkf;jk
lungs
After a near drowning experience as a child in which he doesn't remember how he survived, Lance avoids the ocean he once loved. He doesn't realize that's where his savior lives.
Or: a slice-of-life story about a boy and his mermaid.
another mermaid Keith!

World Building: Dread Masters
Since That One Person is no longer on Tumblr(thank God), I’m going to write my own Dread Masters world building post.  Also @juravern you might like this.
Edit: here are their Wookieepedia entries: Bestia, Tyrans, Calphayus, Brontes, Styrak and Raptus.
Now, we don’t know much about them, except that:
-they are very, very, very, very old.  Revan says they tortured him while Vitiate had him imprisoned from the end of his novel until they themselves were captured.  (Note: the Dread Masters are theoretically still imprisoned on Belsavis when Revan is freed.  They’re imprisoned about 10-15 years before SWTOR starts.)  It is also said Brontes helped rebuild the Dark Temple, which the Sith rediscovered in 4980 BBY.  They had been wandering the galaxy for 20 years beforehand, after the Great Hyperspace War.
-Jaric Kaedan led a strike team to arrest them.
-Imperial players can meet them by rescuing them on Belsavis.
-they went rogue after the JK 86′d the Emperor.
-they drove Karagga the Unyielding insane, making him paranoid and leading to the Karagga’s Palace raid.
-they brainwashed Kephess and possibly his Warstalkers, leading to the Explosive Conflict raid.
-they rebuilt him, leading him to becoming the second to last boss of Terror From Beyond.  They also tried to use the Terror itself for some fucking reason.
-Styrak, at some point, thought it would be wise to brainwash an entire army worth of mercs to fight for the Masters.  This leads to the Scum and Villainy raid, which results in his death.
-After Styrak kicks the bucket, the five remaining Masters go insane.  They relied on each other, due to the Phobis devices great power in the dark side.  This eventually leads to the Dread War, and the Dread Fortress and Dread Palace raids in that order.
-Brontes is a scientist.  She seems to favor cybernetics, with her enhancing herself with “wings”, the rancor boss, and the droid boss in the Dread Fortress raid.
-Styrak is an alchemist.  His codex talks about his cruel experiments on people and on animals.  He’s also quite pissed when the ops group kills his Kell Dragon.
-Calphayus is a prophet.  His boss fight involves time travel, and his dialogue talks about how we will lose.  His codex says he used his powers to warn the Emperor of battles, uprisings, et al.
-Bestia seems to be an enforcer type.  She also might be an alchemist, seeing how she spawns her “pets” during her fight.  She put down a slave rebellion on Ziost all by herself, which drew the Emperor’s attention.  She’s also the keeper of the Seeds of Rage, which we hunt for in the seeker droid missions.
-Raptus...his schtick seems to be mind control.  His title is “Weaver of Nightmares”, and if an Imperial player chooses the dark side option after rescuing the Master, Raptus will drive Warden Graal insane, all while giving a nasty description of what is happening to him.  He is also the leader of the Masters.
-Tyrans is the “Tactician of the Masters”.  He’s the one who lays out battle plans, and he taunts the raid group about how weak we are.  He’s a quiet dude, and I believe he has the least dialogue out of all the Masters.
Now on one hand, it’s understandable that their boss, Vitiate, gets more world building than they do.  He’s not only much more powerful than them, but he IS their boss and is an overall much bigger threat than they are.  It’s sad that the Zakuulan expacs have taken a huge ass dump on that.  So here’s what I have as Dreadcanons:
-I don’t think they’re quite as old as Vitiate or even Naga Sadow.  However, it is said that Brontes is “one of the youngest Dread Masters”(I personally she is the “baby” of the group; she seems the most youthful of them) and that she helped rebuild the Dark Temple.  Combining that with Revan’s claims they tortured him(his imprisonment began in 3950 BBY, and with the Dark Temple being expanded in 4980 BBY), and assuming they’re all around the usual Star Wars protagonist age range of 19-25, they’re probably 1300+ years old.  However, if Calphayus’ appearance at the Republic ending is anything to go by, they used the dark side to stop aging.
-I do believe, given their dialogue in the tower when the PC is doing the Oricon story, they care about each other somewhat.  It’s actually anathema to Sith beliefs, which rely on backstabbing to get a leg up.  However, I don’t think their concern for each other is genuine.
-Kephess was Brontes’ idea.  Not only is she a cyberscientist, but she also spawns clones of him during her boss fight.
-Toth and Zorn, the first bosses of Explosive Conflict, were either Raptus’ idea or a joint effort between him and Bestia.  There are drouks in the halls leading to his room.
-Assuming Calphayus survived the Republic player’s choice post-Oricon, he probably survives the Assault on Tython.  He would be a valuable prisoner, and is probably being rehabbed.  Hopefully, Valkorion dying didn’t kill Calphayus either.  I like to think he’s spending his days helping others, and having tea with Lord Praven. :)
-I highly doubt the Masters knew about Zakuul.  Vuvuzela probably knew they’d turn on him if they found out.
-I have discussed this with @juravern, but I believe Styrak and Brontes had something going on.  Her “wings” come after his death; she doesn’t have them when we rescue the Masters on Belsavis.  Now, everyone knows the Sith are dramatic, but she practically spits it out when she says “now with the death of Lord Styrak”, but becomes a bit poignant when she says “we are going mad”.  The other Masters do not enhance themselves.
-The codex entry says he is human, like the other Masters, but I personally believe Raptus is a Pureblood.  He is the most arrogant of the Masters, and Purebloods are held in extremely high regard in the Empire, which could lead to a “holier than thou” attitude.
-There might have been more than six Dread Masters at one point.  Players can win a mask from Dreadtooth(Section X world boss and a huge bitch) that looks similar to the ones Styrak and Calphayus have.
-I’ve actually designed looks for the Dread Masters: here, and here.
-For face claims: Kelly Hu for Brontes; Parminder Nagra for Bestia; Pedro Pascal for Tyrans; Iain Glen for Calphayus; Tom Hiddleston for Raptus; and Hugh Jackman for Styrak.
Now, how they fit into my legacies:
-Teniir legacy: Styrak’s initial plan is to seduce Bralova and marry her.  Sadly for him, she is far too smart and honorable for his Sithy ass and leads the charge against him on Darvannis.
-Syngan legacy: Diaya is one of the very few Dread Commanders(the heroic bosses) allowed to have free will.  She blows the whistle on their plans and kills Raptus with her bare hands.
-Kavi legacy: I moved their capture up to about 30 years before SWTOR to make this work.  At some point, Brontes and Styrak decide to have a child together, partially out of twisted affection and out of needing a back up Dread Master.  This leads to Ursulina being born--my canon Jedi Consular.  She is a little girl when the Masters are captured, and her mind is wiped by the Jedi Council.  She learns the truth after the Explosive Conflict raid from Brontes.  She attempts to reason with them, but they refuse to be saved--except for Calphayus.  He is currently learning the ways of the Jedi and helping Ursulina’s perpetual mission to heal the galaxy.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk!
