After the movie, a restless, stressed and anxious Leo finds an unexpected outlet: musical theater. Using a cloaking brooch, he tries out for a local show alongside April. His brothers have always said he’s a good singer, and they love to hear him sing, so why not audition? He doesn’t expect to get a part, but if his job was to impress the directors, he did an amazing job; he’s been cast in a lead role. Now he has to keep the secret from his brothers; not due to shame, but because he’s scared they’ll make him pull out because it’s risky to act in a human show. April, also having gotten a leading part, becomes his unwilling accomplice.
Leo: April, please! Listen to me!
April: Leonardo Hamato! Are you asking me to lie for you?!
Leo: I’m not. I’d never ask you to lie like this for me. But, you know how Raph is, especially after the invasion and especially when it comes to me. He might decide that it’s too risky and ask me pull out! I’ve never had an outlet like this before, something I truly enjoy.
April, sighing; Okay. I’ll won’t tell them. But come opening night, when your brothers all come to see me, they’re gonna get one hell of a shock! And I’m not gonna help you out!
Leo: I owe you big April!
April: You owe me your damn soul, Leo!
(She tells Donnie almost immediately after that conversation. She swears him to secrecy. Donnie, just happy to see Leo enjoying something again, isn’t hard to convince.)
Kaz and Oliver use comics as escapism and I can’t believe I’m just realising this.
That’s why they know so much about it, because they’ve spent so much of their lives not just reading and hyperfixating on it, but getting entrenched in the world to avoid their fucked up lives.
For Kaz, it’s to escape from his (likely religious) family, who’re either really loud and annoying and stressful, and/or leaving Kaz to think about how they might not care about him at all, he’s just another kid who lives there.
With Oliver, it’s got to do with his overbearing mother, and his parents failing relationship. Dealing with his mother’s absence or demands, Oliver didn’t know which is worse, and with his parents arguing. His father’s habits of somehow being both overbearing as well while being completely uninterested in his life.
When they’re reading comic books, they aren’t in this world where they’re in strained families that made it hard to relax any time they were in the house; they were in a world where superheroes existed and saved people... and maybe they could be saved too— not by the heroes themselves, but by this world.
And in the end, that’s kind of what ended up happening. First with The Domain, their home away from home, giving them a space to go after school when they were absolutely not ready to go home yet, and then with Mighty Med, where they not only got to meet, but help superheroes.
I don’t know why this is hitting me so deep, I am so sorry.

He's telling the kids: "A rocket is coming cover your ears." Then he tells them to remove their fingers once it's gone. At the end of the video, since the girl is wearing Messi Argentina jersey, he jokes with her saying: "They don't appreciate you anymore messi, they don't respect you anymore" to make her smile.
This is a famous influencer from gaza: Ahmed alhenawi. He came to gaza for his wedding which was a week before the genocide. The little girl here is his sister in law, and the little boy is their cousin who's staying with them since his mother was killed by Israeli bombardment.
This is the same girl who said: I wish I could just get killed right now, because I'm so exhausted. You know what's good though? They postponed examinations!
These people need you, never stop talking about Palestine. Speak up. If they find it in themselves to smile and joke during this and not fall into despair so can you. STOP THE GENOCIDE.
